The coordinates you gave me put me in the Zona Rosa on Florencia if I am using G-Earth correctly. No Avenida San P. And No Avenida Circun. Show up in that area on my maps. Was on Florencia today and yesterday and saw no bike shops.

Quick report. Made a last minute decision to head to Mexico City to hang with an old chica friend. Been all over the world, but this is my first time in Mexico. Didn't plan to do any mongering, but grabbed some information off the board prior to leaving....just in case. Thanks to all the posters for your valuable info.
Like the idiot that I am, or not an idiot but a glutton for punishment, I didn't exactly heed the words of some wise posters. After hanging out in Zona Rosa, checking out the scene there (pretty decent), having been molested by the touts about this Cadillac Club place with "chicas, strip tease." At about 2:30 am more bored than horny, I bit and went.
Of course, the tout jumped in the car, and came along to claim his commission. Once in the club, hard-sell city. I KNEW better, but decided to stay and have a beer. So after circling the place, think American strip club complete with runway which divides the club, a chica and her friend attach themselves to the table search party. Of course, they sit down when we find a table. I order a beer, and for fuck's sake, I order one for them too. I eventually order two more for me.
I should've known the jack was up, when I'd ask the price of each beer, and the entire wait staff suddenly would get busy or go to find out the price, never to return. I end up buying one of the girls a glass of wine. The other one got the hint and left. I taste the wine, and it's apple juice spritzer or some shit. Meanwhile, the chica's price has come down from 1500 pesos to 500 pesos in "privado." I'm not even sure what that entailed, as I really wasn't interested.
Perturbed at the scam being run by the waiters, I ask for the check. That took 30 mins to arrive. Total bill - 2200 pesos, for 5 beers and a wine. After I argue with them, and realize to fight it is pointless, I pay them 1800 for 4 beers and the wine. Yeah, do the math. Funny enough, the local guys at both tables beside me, then in turn, starting asking for their checks as well. And they started finding discrepancies with their checks as well as the inflated prices. I get up and say very loud to the waiters and the head dude, never again. The talent was decent to pretty good. There weren't any absolute duds or gorditas there, but still not worth the price.
So today, met up wit my amiga before she had to go to work. After she took me by her studio, I was free until 2 pm, when I'm jumping on a tour. Soooooo, I decided to check www.extremesportspa.com in the Hamburgo location. It's in the Zona Rosa area, on Hamburgo 327 between Calle Leija and Bursceo (sp?) in Rm 12. Once you enter the building, the door guy has to call you up. It's best to call before for a reservation. Te website has all the relevant info, and in my experience, it is all on the level. Check out the prices and schedule. 1200 all in for 45-60 mins of pretty good massage and full service, all covered. I did Michelle and I'd recommend it.

No problem, amigo. Got a map and eventually stumbled upon it on the map. After that it wasn't hard to find. Went there once to scope it out.
I arrived at about 4 PM. Along the Anillo de Circunvalacion there are several [6, or more] blocks with girls. All are on one side of the street. They generally stand about 30 feet apart leaning against the wall, far enough apart that you can have a conversation with one without the other girls hearing. (See the picture taken near the intersection of Anillo de Circunvalacion and Jesus Maria.)

I'm a tourist. Until then I had only been in "tourist" areas with tons of cops in 47 different flavors. This is where the regular folks live. There are few cops here in a city famous for its crime.
I chicken out. I'm short on time and I do not have my own hotel lined up. No way I'm going to "I don't know where".
So that's the end of the story. With more time I would have gone back, maybe with a sitio taxi driver as an interpreter to help me get a hotel room in advance. So if you have the stones and the time you could have a monster time for next to nothing.

I don't remember the cross streets. Go back and read the forum for the details on where. None of the girls are going to take you to Toluca for a date. The girls will be standing close to the motel they will use no matter where they are. Some might be a couple of hundred feet, some might be standing in the door way.

Calle San Pablo runs East from the Metro Pino Suarez to the La Merced Metro station. North from the La Merced station for 4 or 5 blocks up the Calle Anillo de Circunvalacion. The infamous pasarela is one block
West and one block South of the La Merced metro at the Calle Sto. Tomas ( just look for the crowd)
Calle San Pablo is safer and has fewer girls but of a bit better quality. The Sto. Tomas girls take you to an asco (filthy) stall and I do not recommend it.
All the girls work on the cafeteria plan...150 to 200 Pesos for 15 minutes, lift the skirt and missionary. Another 40 to 70 pesos for the hotel, depending...check with the girl first. Fifty pesos more to remove the top, 100 more for BJ, more for more time, more for positions. These girls are not usually very enthusiastic. For the 300 to 500 pesos you end up paying, you are much better off at a casa de citas. Still, it is worth visiting...if only as a tourist attraction. But be attentive, check over your shoulder..use caution, dress down, no jewelry. Take a wingman if possible.
Never go to La Merced at night. It is reasonably safe daytimes but even days there are sometimes assaults, robberies, pickpockets and sometimes even cops can stick you up for a mordida.

The famous "pasarela" is on the Callejon Sto. Tomas (Callejon de Silencio) one block S and one W of the Merced Metro. Another pasarela at Manzanares 2 blocks W of Circumnaviacion. 150 Pesos for 20 minutes and on a "cafeteria plan"... more to show tits, more for cachondeo.. expect to pay, perhaps, 350 Pesos unless you just lift the skirt and go.

First off, Mexico City is huuuge. It has tons of different scenes and neighborhoods. Often in these boards a city takes on one kind of image, but imagine trying to describe New York City in one picture of its scene. You can't do it. Mexico City is even bigger than New York.

It's in Insurgentes very close to the metro stop. It's on a small side street called Venecia that only exists for about two blocks. Better to use google maps to scope out how close it is to the metro before you go. Though I don't recommend this place.
YMMV but for my tastes this place is awful. I speak Spanish fluently, but my white face still gives away that I'm not a local. Usually just being polite and clearly speaking the language with ease prevents the gringo tax from coming in, but not here. To me it looked just like a normal open air street market zone, but I didn't experience it myself so take caution. There were definitely some girls there worth taking a look at though.
This is my first report, hope it is useful. DF seems like a place worth exploring, but beware the bait and switch. It happened to us at a bar where they charged us extra for the "music" even though they had assured us "no extra charges." People in DF seem to be a little more desperate than the rest of Mexico to survive. For those of you who don't speak Spanish and who aren't accustomed to any part of Latin culture, better to stay in nicer neighborhoods and pay slightly more.
On a cultural note, for when you're not enjoying the ladies, DF has awesome museums and I highly recommend visiting the pyramids. They are awesome.
On my next post I'm going to compile a list of spas and independents I compiled in case I had more time in the city. The independent route is probably the BEST route if you speak Spanish. Though I didn't get to try this on this visit.

You summed up Parlamento pretty accurately.
A few comments:
Parla is open Mon-Fri only. Action starts around 3:00 pm, and ends around 9:00 pm, except on thursdays and fridays, when it closes around 11:00 pm.
There are no video booths, but a cinema, "Cine Río", on the upper floor. You have to pay something like 20 pesos to get into the cinema; prices for the girls are the same as in the strip club.
One word of caution; the "rooms" where the girls take you are really booths, have no doors, and everyone can see you; they are not exactly clean. Don't think about sitting down directly on the little benches inside the booths.

I did not go upstairs to the cinema. I also found it closes on Wednesdays too...only open on the four weekdays. And the table dance portion didn't open until three the day I was there, they told me it closes at 8pm.
There is no cover and the Sol beers are only 28 Pesos. Kristal offered me oral at 150 and 300 pesos for completo. La Merced is always a risk but you can minimize it if you try your chances with the south sidewalk of San Pablo avenue, among Topacio and Jesus Maria streets and also over the west sidewalk of Anillo de Circunvalacion avenue, first two blocks north of the corner with San Pablo avenue. Girls from this sectors work with hotels just a few steps from where they're standing, others will ask you to walk behind them for a block and a half to get to their hotels.
Your best time to visit should be in between 1. M and 6. M (before dark).
Remenber: The moment you're more vulnerable is at the time when you are leaving the hotel after the bang.
2. What city sector are you staying at? Anyway, avoid Zona Rosa. Stripjoints at Zona Rosa are normally a rip off.

Daytimes! Do not go there at night. Very little risk in daytimes and any hobbyist to the DF should at least do a walk around the infamous La Merced. The absolute safest part is along the north side of San Pablo just east of the Pino Suarez metro and it is also where the finest girls are. The pasarela at callejon Santo Tomas is also safe and worth sightseeing but the quality/cost benefit offers no advantage.
There is so much pedestrian traffic even along the Circumnaviación, I felt completely safe. I partook on both San Pablo and Circumnaviación. The hotels they direct you to aren't too awful and the three I visited were safe, as was the route to the hotels.
I cannot help you with high end strip clubs. The Parlamento, discussed below, is hardly that. The famed Bagheera was on vacation when I visited and I was not impressed with most of the talent there. I did Antonella who found she didn't have a condom in her purse so we fucked without one for 300 pesos. I never do this and certainly do not recommend it but was "carried away" and have suffered no evident consequence after three weeks. The "visiting booths" are upstairs and not visible from the club floor but open to other upstairs customers passing to their booth.
You might look into La Tentación at the corner of Cuautemoc and Claudio Bernal and just south of the Cuautemoc metro. I only stopped there for the 10 peso afternoon beer special , on my way to the Parlamento, but there were a few gems there. The drink fichas seems to be their main income but it was evident that service is available.
You'll need at least basic spanish to negotiate in La Merced, as Juan said.
There are some top strip clubs that offer additional services, but none of them are within your proposed budget. On the other hand, if you just want to enjoy a few drinks while watching gorgeous girls, I'd recommend a place called Exxxess; unfortunately, it's located in the outskirts of the city, quite far from downtown.

Ladies drinks are beers in two sizes, small for 80 pesos and large for 160 (grabbing, kissing and cuddling is allowed). There are ticketers selling lapdances for 200 but they include the same and for a shorter period of time.
The Savoy is located at Centro Historico at Igualdad (it may be Bolivar, one block to the east over Izazaga) a few steps from Izazaga avenue. Look for the corner of Lazaro Cardenas avenue (AKA as Eje Central) and Izazaga and from there one block to the east to Igualdad street (or two blocks if I'm confused and it's at Bolivar street). Also try the Azteca because I heard it's reopened. Same deal as savoy but a few meters to the north from the corner of west sidewalk of Lazaro Cardenas and Izazaga.

To clarify a bit about Azteca and Savoy.
Azteca is now indeed open. As mentioned, it is located in Eje Central, near Izazaga, just outside Salto del Agua metro station. Price for a bucket of five Coronas is 150 pesos, but if you arrive before 6:00 pm it'll be just 60 pesos! Or you can say "promoción" to the waitress, and you´ll probably get the special price even in the evening.
Prices for chica drinks have increased, though. A small drink is now 150, and a double is 300. You have to be careful who you choose to invite for a drink; some of the girls will gulp them down really fast, other will take their time. There are two shifts; first one starts around 1:00 pm, and the second around 8:00 pm. Girls are generally better looking in the evening shift; I would recommend Bárbara, but she's very popular, and therefore, always busy; also Alika or Franchesca, but they aren't always there.
If you go in the afternoon, it's better to invite one of the hostesses or waitresses for a drink; some of them are good looking and young.
You can have full service right inside the club; it'll be 1,500 pesos for half an hour. It's best to negotiate directly with the girl, to see her after her shift has ended. Even some of the hostesses will agree to that.
As for Savoy, I have not been there since Azteca reopened, but the prices are the same as in Azteca now; if you like dancing, you'll have a good time; there's a live band, and you can dance with the girls if you buy them a drink, or even for a small fee (20 pesos or something, if I recall correctly); others won't even charge you that.

First day in Mexico City was very nice. Just returned from a trip to DF and due to other commitments I only had a little time early in the morning. I was able to get out both Saturday and Sunday. I didn't really expect much but was surprised at what I found.
I made a pass down to La Merced on Saturday morning around 10am and there was quite a few to choose from. Not near the amount you see in the afternoon though. -Hotel Mexicali. In a problematical neighborhood, one block South of the Chabacano Metro station, on the West side of the road. An okay hotel for 150 Pesos a night, clean and excellent value.

I have to disagree with that. Prostitution IS illegal in Mexico (only exeception is the State of Morelos) Many cities got a TOLERANCE area but that doesn't make it legal.
At La Merced, every block has a group in charge of the trade with one or two MAN IN GUARD, it's up to the them to select an hotel exiting visitor and then work an extorsion with a police officer on call. I guess you'll have to trust me on that. To have a taxi in wait outside of your hotel is POSSIBLE but when your choosed one is at Anillo de Circunvalacion and San Pablo because both avenues don't have a park lane.
The State of Morelos is a topic we could be including in this Mexico City trade because is neighboring the city and able to be visited in a half day trip.

I doubt that you will find an inexpensive strip club in the DF other than the Parlamento. The Zona Rosa places are outrageously high. The best you will do is someplace like Tentacion on Insurgentes or the Azteca and even they are relatively expensive.

A Mexican guy could no doubt have got the same service for 250-300, but... I'm European and look it. :)
One little afterthought. Purely as a tourist, please visit one of the first small streets south of San Pablo, just one block away from the Merced station. What happens there is incedible! On your Venecia spa link prices are listed. 600 befor 3 and then 700 till 11. That is around what I paid, plus I always gave a 2 or 300 tip for BBBJ and GFE service, after the service if it was good. I am at the Camino Real. I looked at the posted taxi prices. To give you an example, I paid 172 pesos to catch a taxi from the airport with the company called Neuva Imagen to my hotel, Camino Real in Polanca which according to their chart and receipt is in Zona 5. The posted hotel taxi rate back to the airport from my hotel is 1000 pesos. That is absurd. If you can find a cab with a meter, that is your cheapest option. I have used the taxis that are two tone with sort of a brown on the bottom part of the cab with a bronze kind of collar on the top half. I have had no issues or concerns other than the usual with cabs that they drive like fools. I paid one of them with their meter about 35 pesos for a fair to the area where the La Merced is which with a hotel cab would have cost me probably 200 or more pesos. If you can catch one of these two tone cabs with meters do it. Late night, I am more open to wasting money on taxis for the obvious safety reasons, but have still flagged down the two tone ones. As a rule, when you are dealing with non meter cab they are going to try to over charge the hell out of you. As them the rate for where you are going, if where you are going is relatively close for example zona rosa to palonca where my hotel is, I would not pay any more than 50 pessos. A more experienced person may even get it for less. As a rule, you should ask their rate and then aim for 50% of it, but again you still at 50% may be overpaying. The best bet when possible is the meter.
Now for the mongering. I took the cab to La Merced. I decided to walk the ho strolls. I arrived around 1:30pm in the area where circumvalacion intersects with san pablo near the metro stop. On Saturday afternoon there were tons of street walkers (SW) on both circumvalacion and also on san pablo. Many were in the doors of businesses, but you could tell who was working the business and who was working the street by the clothing worn by the sws. My take and I am somewhat picky having spent lots of time in brasil is that probably only 5-10% of the sws are worth doing by my standard. Most are either fat, ugly, aged or any combination of them or have the after effects of having kids with stretched out bellies and sags. There were a few decents choices. Most of these women on san pablo and circumvalacion are seasoned veterans, even the young ones. Do not expect any GFE from them. They are straight business. What some of the reports say about 150 pesos for the pants off and extra charges for the top or nude are on point. If you want them nude it is more money, anal extra money, etc. None of them will go to your hotel. They all want to go to some nearby hotel motel kind of place that is designed for in and out quick fucks that is usually within a few blocks of where the SW is standing. Out of the sws in this area, it seemed to me on Saturday (yesterday afternoon) the best choices for sws were located on san pablo on the right side of the street if you were leaving circumvalacion and walking away from the intersection of it with san pablo heading down san pablo on the right side of the street about 3-4 blocks down san pablo. This area has tons of bicycle shops. I decided to hang there and chat with a few of them. There was one with blond hair that spent time in tiujana doing the same thing that spoke a fair amount of english. I can get by in spanish. Mexico city is not a place that I would ever recommend to monger. The quality is poor and the prices are very expensive like prices in the USA unless you grab a SW and go to a flea bag hotel near where you find her. I would recommend as choice one brasil and choice two Colombia. Colombia has a number of spots. I have enjoyed mongering in both Cartagena one time and Bogota twice and recommend Bogota highly. Brasil is better than Colombia but a little two far to travel for a long weekend. Great spots to monger in brasil are fortaleza and natal. I have done both and love them. Overall, the Extreme Sports Spa experiences have been far superior, mainly due to the quality of the girls. I've sampled five girls there and they have all been hot, enthusiastic and friendly. All the services are usually covered and they are quite discreet, so you need to inquire about "extras" (otherwise you will only get a massage!). The girls I've been with have all been local. One of them was a gorgeous (albeit flat-chested) 18yr old hottie, a couple of them early-twenty-something university students and a couple of late-twenties full-timers. All of them have been friendly and the service good.
I would advise calling beforehand and getting proper directions, including the apartment number (there are two branches, both of which are units in apartment buildings). The managers have usually spoken a bit of English. The girls generally have not, but I've not had a problem communicating with my few words of Spanish and body language. Of the two branches, the one near the Zona Rosa / Angel has had a much better selection of ladies.

I walked the streets for days and found all kinds of interesting stuff to do. However I was extremely confused when I went to la merced and san pablo. There were police officers standing next to prostitutes that were soliciting me. It really threw me for a loop " Should I or shouldn't I?". I wound up doing the la merced thing at night when less cops were around. Maybe that was not the brightest thing to do.
* Are you 100% certain that tepito has no pfp in or around the market? What is your understanding about picking up girls in front of DF cops? I've been told its a grey area and can go either way.

As purely a mongering destination I would have to agree that DF is not on. But you also seem to like places such as Guate that I love visiting and mongering but would not go there just for that.
No I'm not absolutely sure if p4p is not available in Tepito, I didn't see it and that's not the kind of place I look for it, neither Merced.
Probably picking up a hooker with a cop around wouldn't be a problem but I wouldn't bother just because why would you want the potential head ache if he decides to attempt a shakedown. As I said corruption knows no limits in Mexico. I have personally seen cops shake down tourists who asked them for directions. Never happened to me but it's the luck of the draw I guess.

I was in the area by the Bella Artise (sp?) around the Sears that is there and found about 5 all within walking distance of each other. That isn't really a touristy spot like Condesa so I was amazed at the $5 beer and $20 lap dances. I know of the Gringo Tax but I can usually bargain my way around some of it. If I saw correctly all patrons were paying those prices.

What I'm talking about is if most people are walking and in groups or moving like they have a destination and at a corner there is a girl dressed in a tight short dress and heels at 3pm just standing there. I'm assuming she is working.
For those of us who are too old to monger 24/7 the other activities the city offers are limitless. The museums and exhibits are amazing. You can walk the city just to look at the architecture. The food is spectacular; any type at any price you care to spend.
To sum it all up, if anyone who knows of an area please detail it. Or if anyone has a list of houses I would love to see it as I will be in DF around August.

Something is going on for sure but it just isn't obvious to gringos *or Mexico city is too large that the average visitor wouldn't run into those areas doing the normal tourist route. Very nice older hotel 2 blocks from Metro Revolucion and monumento de la revoulcion is the
Oxford. Ok it's past its glory days but it still oozes charm. Huge rooms with a balcony overlooking a small park. There are lots of streetwalkers in the area but not my scene. Only 170 pesos a night last I was there. Quite a safe and pretty area, walking distance to many sites of interest. GF friendly in fact also has short time rooms I believe. One porn channel on the tv with king size beds and large banos with good hot water.
The bar downstairs has tons of charachter with local old guys who bring their guitars in and sing and wg's coming in for a drink-but not actively working as far as I could tell.

Hello, I am doing some research on nightlife in Mexico and other areas. Recently, I heard a few stories about a particular nightclub in Mexico City. I do not have the name of the place, but I believe it was near or across from an indoor market in the center of the city (perhaps la Merced?). Anyway, it was supposed to have been quite a wild and notorious place, perhaps with strippers, etc, and folks actually having sex on stage. Also, I was told it was very popular with military recruits. I believe the authorities finally closed it down several years ago in a crackdown on vice. If any longtime resident of Mexico City knows anything about the place including the name, what actually went on there, and if it ever reopened, etc. I would appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

La Tabacalera, the area around the Monumento a la Revolucion, has many hotels from 250 pesos to 700 and more. Used to stay at New York (about 500). Clean and no problem with bringing girls in. I used to see some SWs around the area, but usually called an escort. Close to Metro Revolucion.

Yes Artisttyp there are quite a few all night stores in that area, as well as late night restaurants. It is a not touristy at all like Zona Rosa. It is a mixture of slightly seedy and family, muy chilango. Tons of great street food stalls.
I wore out a fair bit of shoe leather checking out many of the hotels and the best value IMHO is the Oxford, but you have to get a room facing the park or the street (a bit noisier) , not the air-less ones facing the interior. They do not take reservations (and it is popular) so best bet is to arrive early in the morning, drop your bags at the desk and come back later.
As you are a block from the metro you can get anywhere. There are also a few low end brothels within walking distance, advertised in El Grafico. The 150 peso places. And of course a smattering of street girls here and there. And just to add colour some of the ugliest transvestites I have ever seen. Mexican men just don't cut it as women.

I have partaken in the cheap brothels a coupla times but prefer the incalls in the 600 peso range. Better looking women and better sex, it's more likely to find a diamond in the rough at that price level than the lower ones. Around three years ago I had a handfull of places at that level with lots of young (19-22) really sexy girls that gave great GFE. One that has been around for a long long time is Venezia Spa (I have reviewed previously a few times). It's current location on Xola a couple of blocks from Metro Etopia has been there for about three years, but the owners have been in the whoring business for decades and must be quite connected politically.
This year I went a few times based on having amazing times there last year but all the women had changed and it totally sucked, but you know this can change day to day and week to week.
There is another one that I had some good times in this year about 6 blocks the other way down Xola. I think the adress is 36 or 39 Division del Norte (it crosses at Xola).

No problem taking cabs for me. I mean you don't look like a dollar sign gringo right Artist? Anyway it's really not much of a price diffference on most of the radio cabs versus regular ones, a buck tops on a trip. Personally I just don't worry about that kinda shit, I have a pretty good spider sense and I've never had a problem. I wouldn't grab a taxi in front of clubs or visible tourist haunts but calling all the time would be a chore. However eventually you will need one when the metro closes down. Otherwise I agree that the metro is the way to go. Avoid rush hour.
I was in DF last in 2004 pre ISG if you can imagine that. I am arriving on a one way ticket to guadalajara then will make my way over. No commitments on length of stay at all. Anywhere from 1 or 2 weeks would seem reasonable then maybe ship out somewhere else. One of the benefits of arriving on a one way ticket is you don't feel the pressure to plan so much.
