Came to CDMX for the first time. For a long time I didn't dare come to Mexico to monger because of all the bad press about violence from cartels. I heard CDMX was the safest and saw a youtube video of a guy saying it's a good place to try for mongering, so finally decided to come.

SIM card at airport (called Chip):

Some previous reports say the 7 eleven right in front of where you exit immigration sells SIM cards, but they don't anymore when I was there. You have to go at the 7 eleven on the 2nd floor near the food court. I got the Telcel one for 230 MXN, which is the Telcel Amigo Sin Limit 200 plan: 3 GB data, unlimited calling & text, 30 days, it's 30 MXN for the Chip and 200 MXN for the plan. It's not written anywhere on the package that they sell you, which got me confused at first, but on the receipt, the name of the plan is written there. You can also go to the official Telcel store in the airport, but I didn't want to go through the process of them getting my passport info. At the 7 eleven, they just sell you the card no questions asked, you put the sim card in your phone and it works (for old phones, you might need help from Telcel employees).

Currency exchange:

There are Many currency exchange shops at the MEX airport, the rate is actually not bad. Somehow the day I arrived the exchange rate was almost market rate, but it wasn't the case the day when I was flying out, but it wasn't bad (it was definitely better than the ones I saw in Zona Rosa tourist area). You have to shop around for the best rate, the worst shops were near the doors where people just exit immigration (near door 8). If you walk a little far to door 6-5-4, you might find better rates. If you exchange just a little, it won't matter. But if you exchange a lot like I did, it adds up. I exchanged a few hundred USD and that ended up being enough for my entire stay, including for girls. If you bring cash, I suggest you exchange at the airport.

From airport to downtown:

I took the metro, yeah I'm raw. Taxi is way easier and not too expensive, but I wanted to be like a local. You'll see big numbers on each of the exit doors. Walk all the way to Door 1 and exit the terminal, turn left and keep walking following the ramp (just follow the people) and you'll get to the metro station "Terminal Aerea" on the yellow line. From there, you can lookup google maps on how to get to your destination. Price: 5 pesos = 25 cents USD. Yes 25 cents to get to downtown. But, you'll have to walk a lot with your luggage, including transferring metro lines and being squeezed in the metro wagons. If you're a guy who likes the local experience, do it, otherwise I strongly recommend taxi. Oh yea, if you arrive during rush hours (7 a-10 a, 6 p-9 p), strongly advise NOT to take the metro. Where to stay:

I stayed in Zona Rosa, it was alright, no complaints. Next time, I think I'd stay around Condesa area, and that's mainly to make it easier for girls to come to you, and also for you to be closer to the love motels that the girls use, which are mainly in the southern part of downtown CDMX. If staying closer to centro Zocalo, maybe some girls won't go there because it's farther and lots of traffic.

Safety:

For the first few days, I was very vigilant, thought to myself I better behave because I'm in cartel land. I just completed my maiden trip to CDMX as I planned for it and overall a great experience. All fellow ISG'ers shared valuable info in forum which helped me laid out my plan. Thanks to JC for sharing contact info for popular choices like Luna, Regina and giving his input on all questions I had.

Transportation:

CDMX is uber dominant and easily accessible every where. Unlike Monterrey, Uber DO pick you up from arrival gate of your choice (in Mty you have to walk to main ave to get uber / didi). I landed and walked terminal to scout exchange rate but chose not to convert and opted to ATM method for rest of trip.

Currency:

I used BBVA & BancMex (Citibank) - BBVA conned me of 25 $ worth of 'conversion' as the touch screen was NOT calibrated and When it offered me conversion and I tried to declined (so I can get interbank rate), the proceed forward button took the input and I ended up with 18.65 p /1 $ conversion. NEVER AGAIN.

Citibank is my go-to in MX usually and for next withdrawal, I used it and got 20.03 which was great (given open mkt was around 20.3-20.35).

Lodging:

I got A. Bnb for stay and it worked out well. Location was Polanco which is very safe area and walking distance to restaurants, park, metro etc. I walked around various day / night hours and never felt unsafe. Cdmx is a big city and all general precautions applied as such but overall, I will likely stay in same area for convenience factor.

The building is secured door and with doorman I handed a 50 p to doorman first day and it worked out well as there was no question to any guest I have during any hour of day.

Food:

Since there's unlimited choice to pick from, I tried various places including upscale places. The one place I DON'T recommend is Carajillio as they had very loud music and just ok food, so if you are trying to connect with girl and want a more quite place, then avoid!!

Covid:

I used farmicia benviendo (don't mind spelling) which was walking distance and did the testing for 360 p. In / out in 15 minutes and no rush / wait time. I prefer that over airport option as if +ve, then atleast I will have some time to create fallback plan to be back in states.

Scheduling:

CDMX traffic is bad and given a lot of you have warned about girl delays (as well as ghosting), I factored accordingly, double booked and had plan be for all 3 days I was there. It worked out well and overall, I did not have any dudd's as most of my girls asked for uber so I knew what time they'll start and arrive.

I'm going to describe the place in greater detail, since it was something that I had hoped was available to me before going. When you go to the shop, initially you walk up the stairs into a small sex shop, it was a lot smaller than I expected. To enter to the area where all the action is, you go to the front desk, and they will accept the 80 peso fee for entrance, then you go through a door that is somewhat hidden by a rack of clothes / erotic costumes. Once you are inside, it is extremely dark! After a while your eyes will adjust, but it was very difficult for me to see anything in detail for maybe 5 to 10 minutes and I could barely make out the shape of the girls there. Once you're through the door, directly to the right of you is a small room that functions as a lounge and a small bar where you can order drinks. You will find a lot of guys and some couples just hanging out there.

The rest of the area is also pretty small. Consist of cabinas mostly, and there are some scattered benches and chairs where other customers and the girls sit around. The cabinas coming various sizes, but the smallest one is just a little bit bigger than a telephone booth, situated with a chair in the style that you would find in a movie theater where the seat flips up and down. In the same cabina in front of the chair will be a TV with porn playing, unfortunately you are not able to really choose the porn, although you can fast forward and rewind with some buttons they have. There are also larger cabinas that are maybe about double the size, the staff there told me that it is mostly for trios, but it seems like most of the people were using these bigger cabinas. Went here on a Saturday which was apparently couples night and I did not know about that.

The basics as described previously:

80 peso entrance, beers are about 40 to 50 pesos depending on the exact beer, you can get shots of tequila or mezcal for 100 pesos, cabinas cost 50 pesos to the house to use, and the girls charge 800 pesos for their services, for 30 minutes.

I'm going to describe the place in greater detail, since it was something that I had hoped was available to me before going. When you go to the shop, initially you walk up the stairs into a small sex shop, it was a lot smaller than I expected. To enter to the area where all the action is, you go to the front desk, and they will accept the 80 peso fee for entrance, then you go through a door that is somewhat hidden by a rack of clothes / erotic costumes. Once you are inside, it is extremely dark! After a while your eyes will adjust, but it was very difficult for me to see anything in detail for maybe 5 to 10 minutes and I could barely make out the shape of the girls there. Once you're through the door, directly to the right of you is a small room that functions as a lounge and a small bar where you can order drinks. You will find a lot of guys and some couples just hanging out there.

The rest of the area is also pretty small. Consist of cabinas mostly, and there are some scattered benches and chairs where other customers and the girls sit around. The cabinas coming various sizes, but the smallest one is just a little bit bigger than a telephone booth, situated with a chair in the style that you would find in a movie theater where the seat flips up and down. In the same cabina in front of the chair will be a TV with porn playing, unfortunately you are not able to really choose the porn, although you can fast forward and rewind with some buttons they have. There are also larger cabinas that are maybe about double the size, the staff there told me that it is mostly for trios, but it seems like most of the people were using these bigger cabinas. The flights are Tues, Thurs and Sat at 4:20 Pm, and can be as low as 554 pesos plus the airport tax of 452 pesos.If flights are crazy expensive in SA, I just drive to MTY and fly out of MTY, super cheap. I did this last weekend. When the weather cools down I will probably party one night in MTY, then fly out to CDMX, the best of both worlds.

Also, Volaris canceled the afternoon flight to CDMX, this totally screwed me up. They only offer the flights during peak traveling times.

When I go to Tijuana is will probably fly out of MTY so much cheaper and then I do not have to deal with the border in Tijuana.

Thanks for the help.Calle Sullivan is only a late night venue, don't bother earlier than 11 pm. It is a car pick-up scene. Take a car, cab or Uber. On foot you risk extortion by cops. Located from where Avenida Marina Nacional becomes Calle Sullivan at the TelCel building and where Parque Via intersects. Then for a couple of blocks to the east. You can also walk there, four or five blocks from Insurgentes towards the west.

Pte. De Alvarado. Walk north crossing the street from the Ramada next to the OXXO one long block, then right, another right, and right again back to start. The street name changes in CDMX are confusing. The pre-conquest route dates to 1432 with construction of a causeway connecting the island shore (now Metro Pino Suarez) to the southern mainland.

Metro Pino Suarez roughly borders on the principal streetwalker area, La Merced to its east, where 100+ girls are routinely counted. South of the metro station, Avenida Pino Suarez is renamed Calzada San Antonio Abad. The most renowned love hotel along this stretch is the Gran Hotel Amazonas, which the grand monger Andrs Busti once named as his "office".

South of Viaducto Miguel Alemand the name again changes to Calz. Tlalpan. Just north of Metro Viaducto is my preferred Tlalpan hotel, the Aranjuez. At Metro Villa de Cortes are the well known Harare and the Condesa. I have stayed at several Tlalpan hotels but I don't anymore and don't recommend it because it is rather blighted and there is a dearth of restaurants and non-hobby activities. A few escorts won't go to Tlalpan. It has a reputation for robbery, especially the San Antonio Abad end north of Viaducto.

If you go without a car take the blue, line 2, and scout the window to the west side. Watch out for big hands, Adam apples and falsetto voices. I estimate about 25% are trans.

I checked out the back of Intenzzo a couple of times when I was in CDMX in May. I like the concept but overall it was a disappointment. There were about a half dozen girls working there on both occasions when I visited. All of them were focused either on their phones or on the soccer match playing on the TV in the bar. Returning by bus from Puebla the girls on display in front of Bar Bananas enticed my return to LOS Reyes, farther to the south. On the same block is The Closet and Bar La Chingada. Almost as dangerous as the Titty Twister, the ambiance is as far below as the girls are from Santanico Pandemonium. Take a wingman.

I am not a club guy. Maybe I have seen and chatted up enough naked women. Maybe I am too old, too poor or too cheap. If you are into that scene you are better off in Tijuana, Guadalajara, Puebla or Monterrey. That said, if you are buying I might make an exception.

I grew up in the Portland Oregon strip slub scene. Mostly single moms day drinking with their regular customers. Every once in a while shaking their ass for a dollar. 15 minute private dance when you're ready to leave. Day well spent.

From that perspective, the current equivalent in Mexico City are the cabinas. Though the girls are less likely to be drunk and naked, the extras are through the roof from US standards. If you're just looking to hang out with an everyday mom, drink a couple of beers and eventually bang one out, they're worth a look.

I'm no expert, but I can vouch for Intenzzo in the Roma area. Libido also looks like it's worth a visit but I haven't made it there yet. Walking distance of each other.

The prices are up to each girl, but the staring point will be around $1000 or 1200 pesos for half an hour in a tiny cabina (which was previously a porno booth). You can negotiate from there. Less money, more extras, the big room, etc.

I loved Tijuana from 10 years ago when it was IMO much better. In terms of cost, fun and more gems to be found. When there were more hole in the wall places to explore and less "commercialized" p4 p aka HK. Don't get me wrong, I love HK despite the money pit it has become and the monopoly they have, but it was nice to have the option to high tail it to playboys, AB, NY bar, DG etc. And find gems or just party on the very very cheap.

Now I find the cost US like and atmosphere is so watered down in terms of service that it's almost like I never left home and to me that is part of the lure.

In any case, I noticed you mentioned Tijuana, Guadalajara, Puebla and Monterrey as good options. I have been to both Puebla and Guadalajara. I can vouch for Guadalajara. Had a great time there. SA was solid for me and the clubs provided a good alternative (even though a bit pricey) but between the 2 I had more than enough to want to explore again for sure.

Puebla I liked the city but think I stayed in the wrong area. I see they have some nice looking clubs but they were far out from my location and aside from that couldn't really get much going. To be fair I made a quick 2 day stop after taking a bus from CDMX for a quick run, so didn't really explore too much. But I was unable to really have any fun. But a place I want to go back to and explore more.

Can't speak on Monterrey but have heard some good things.

Ultimately, I have a few days to burn and am heading back to Tijuana hesitantly. Not because I don't like it. I know I will have a blast, I just feel I am missing out on much more and love the thrill of the hunt. But with changes in life, I know my 4-5 Tijuana trips a year will soon be much much less. So have to play the card that will deliver.
