If you walk into Mexicali from Calexico, there's a multi-storey parking garage close to the border west of the crossing. Has anybody used it or has any idea how safe it is to use? It sure would be convenient for a night in the zona.

Lastly, for the more experienced guys: If you were going to cruise around with purpose, what streets would you recommend outside the zona? I've seen some (mostly unappealing) offers along Lopez Mateos, but where else can you recommend if I have too much time on my hands?

So you are Chinese and think that you might stick out in Mexicali? You are really mistaken. The very first inhabitants of Mexicali that dug the canals for the farms and became the farmworkers were Chinese. Mexicali has a huge Chinese influence. There are Chinese people everywhere! There are over 400 Chinese restaurants. Some of the most beautiful women that I have seen are mixed blood Chinese and Mexican. Don't be afraid to go to Mexicali at night and also Mexicali is not really dangerous like the other border towns.

And Cleopatras is on Madero, which is the street that goes straight after you cross the border. Follow the signs to the Airport and about 2 or 3 blocks from the border Cleopatra will be on the right hand side. But Bar San Diego and El Establo are much much better except not open in the day!

Have you or anybody else on this forum had success with any Chinese-descent pros, semi-pros or amateurs in Mexicali? When I pass a pretty Chinese-looking girl there (usually in the zona) I smile my gringo smile, say "Hi", and get little response. Sometimes I'll try to say hello (the only thing I know how to say) in Mandarin or Cantonese. I almost always get a surprised recognition from the Cantonese, but still rarely get more than a few words of conversation. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

It's on Benito Juarez street in the zona. I should have mentioned it's the only quickie hotel in the zona where I've seen with my own eyes that the management will check the girl's health card before letting her loiter or even accompany a guest going in. I have no info at all if all, some or none of the other similar hotels or even bars check anything there. Those who know, please tell.

The garage structure that you are talking about is called Tecolote (Owl) and I have used it when I want to cross back into the US to pick something up in Calexico and don't want to wait in the line to cross the border in my car. I have never had a problem there. I'm not sure what time it closes or if it does close at all.

If you are looking for street walkers, don't waste your time on any other street in Mexicali. It is mostly centralized in the zona.

And I have never been with a Chinese blooded woman in Mexicali although I have seen a few very beatiful ones. Have never seen a pro.

There are panoramic views from every few steps in the zona on Google Earth. They're all from mid-day. I'll just ramble about what I see at first look...

The girl at the corner of Benito Juarez & Ignacio Manuel Altamirano below the La Campana sign is the "sucky-sucky" girl. I probably new her name at one time, but she is in the zona 24/7, lives in the squalid end of Lerdo street and repeatedly says "sucky-sucky" to any gringo that passes. I think she has a sister and they have kids. In good conscience I have to strongly recommend against meeting her. Just seeing her standing on the corner in the mid-day Mexicali heat shows her situation. The girl near her with her butt on the red top of the yellow fire hydrant seems also to be looking for clients.

At 458 Jose Maria Morelos there's an oldie sitting below the Restaurant Zamora sign (entrance to the Hotel Malibu). In front of that hotel, in my experience they're either all old, all transvestites or all buxom hotties. Strange, they seem to work in shifts, in that order.

I think it's the "sucky-sucky" girl's sister at 350 Ignacio Manuel Altamirano below the Sky dish antenna & Bud Light signs. The chunky girl in blue top/white skirt near her is in the stairwell to the Hotel Altamirano.

Usually I don't find working girls loitering on Zuazua near La Taberna while it's open, but at 460 Zuazua there seems to be one in a green top under the shade in front of the not-yet-open La Taberna.

With this kind of data online, I'll try to be more precise about places I report on. Of course with the blazing Mexicali heat broiling my brain and the distractions, I make no promises.

If I have too much time on my hands later, I'll try to find the often-reported Mexicali hot spots on Google Earth.

I'd really like to read Jack's commentary...he's got years more experience than I do in Mexicali.

I just went there to be able to tell how to get there. It is in the Zone on Juarez west of Ignacio Altamirando. It is on the South side of the street in a white building that is recessed away from the other buildings on its sides. Across the street is Super Mercado El Ahorro. There is a small tree on the sidewalk out front. On the right side is a store front for Servicios Medicos Municipales (or something like that) with cracks from the earthquake covered with tape on the strorefront window. On the left side is a wide passageway with a guard sitting at the entrance. There are several little businesses down the passageway as well as the modelo. I asked the guard if the modelo was still there or if it had changed its place after the earthquake. He informed me that it was still there.

I discovered this place after an all nighter with a working girl when she asked me to drive her there to renew her health card. I agreed and waited out front next to the small tree while she was inside. Many a working girl were entering and exiting but by the way they were dressed you would think that they were just regular gals from Mexicali. But I recognized a few of them as they said hi to me while entering and/or exiting.

The guard is in the picture hanging out in the shady driveway. I've gone by it in ignorance a hundred times, usually on the other side of the street walking from Hotel Nuevo Pacifico toward the linia. Who knows, maybe if I have time on my hands on a weekday I'll bring my curiosity and a cold drink to hang out there a while. I wonder if they test foreigners...

I am headed to tijuana in a few weeks and will be in that area for a while. I am curious about taking a side trip to mexicali.

I've read that there are excellent chinese restaurants and crafts markets there. Are they better than TJ...any unique standouts ?

My plans are to base myself in TJ then take an overnight( or 2 night) trip to mexicali. I have a few questions if someone would be kind enough to answer them :

1. My budget for chicas is around $40 for a 30 minute SG and $3 beers. I usually ask for bbbj. Will there be enough action for me in the centro SG area and are there enough dives in the zona roja area?

2. From what I've read mexicali is very large. I will not have a car just my two feet. Will I be able to manage getting around the centro ? My spanish is good so collectivos are an option. However I will probably be disoriented.

3. My hotel budget is up to $50 a day. I have a few leads from a travel website but any forum recommendations would be great.

*4. Time from tijuana on bus should be 3/4 hrs correct? Can anyone recommend a decent bus line that goes to mexicali from TJ ? I know of one bus company leaving from ABC bus terminal off of revolucion. I was told not all buses have a bathroom. I MUST have a bathroom.

Tijuana is much larger than Mexicali so its size shouldn't be an issue. Mexicali downtown zona de tolerancia is a little more spread out than Tijuana's La Coahuila but you can certainly get around on foot.

There are plenty of of Chinese restaurants in Mexicali, especially in el centro, but I don't know the ones in TJ to compare. I didn't like the few I tried in la zona, but few agree with my taste in restaurants. I've never seen Chinese crafts in markets there, but will defer to the more experienced.

1. Yes. Once it cools down to human tolerability, you can walk around and find what you want in la zona roja. Street girls will offer BBBJ no problem, although the more clear-thinking ones ask for more pesos. Hotel stairwell girls will rarely agree, at least not in your first encounter with them. YMMV with the strip club girls in la zona. First you get a drink for yourself. Usually, you get the gentle pressure for ladies' drinks. Then a privado costs usually 20USD. In the privado, I've had 7s offer CFS for 250USD and 9s offer BBBJTCIM for 40USD. I suppose it all depends on the girl's financial needs, the impression you make on her, her alternatives, day of the week, etc. The real gems take more time, effort and gratuitous conversation en espanol in the bars. But there's where you can find the real GFEs. I have found courtesy and friendliness pay big dividends in the bars. They just don't work well for me because I don't drink much and dislike loud noise. Joe and Jack are the experts on the bars and la zona respectively.

2. If you're on foot, your only practical options are sticking to the zona roja and maybe it's eastern extension to the MiauMiau corner depending on your heat tolerance.

3. Near la zona roja, there are a few tolerable but no good hotels under 50USD. I'd recommend first Hotel Chinesca, then Hotel Mexico. If you prefer the higher-cost MiauMiau club and it's neighbors, there's the Hotel Reforma. If you're mostly interested in a cheap place with a door that locks, try any of the quickie hotels in la zona and ask for una habitacion para toda la noche con a/c. Be explicit; most of their customers are short-term and going to sweat regardless of climate control. On foot, the simplest route to see most of the action in la zona roja is to exit the lobby of the Hotel Chinesca and go left or right around the block in a circle. You may see side streets your interested in, but no more than a block off the route or you leave la zona.

4. 3 or 4 hours sounds right from TJ to Mexicali by bus. The main bus terminal right near la zona roja is the Terminal Turistica Mexicali. On Google Earth you can see it at 658 Adolfo Lopez Mateos. It's about 100-150 meters to Hotel Chinesca and an unrelated internet cafe that's open until midnight. FWIW, the signs on the terminal include the following companies: Transportes Intercalifornias, SuburBaja, Aeromexico, Aguila Transportes, PlusABC, BajaPack, EcoBajaTours & Peninsula Ejecutivo. I don't know whether any have bathrooms on the bus.

Just to clarify about girls inside the bars in la zona: 90% or more of the girls drinking are negotiable, and at least a good portion of the girls working the bar or tables are probably as well. Pfp is there, but the variety of service and rates seems less fixed.

Walking distance from la zona, the Hotel del Norte (www.hoteldelnorte.com.mx) is literally a stone's throw from the border crossing and accepts credit cards. Rooms are 515 to 850 pesos, but you'll probably have to pay for a double if you want to bring your wife. Not girl friendly unless they know you and you're discrete. Their web site shows some deal at 432pesos for a double for pay-in-advance of some kind. I don't know whether the Hotel Reforma on avenida Reforma across the street from MiauMiau accepts them. Many of the strippers at MiauMiau actually stay there during their tours in Mexicali. Both offer quiet and comfortable rooms. Walking distance from the zona, that's all I know of. If you like quiet and stay in the Hotel Chinesca, make sure to get a room on the left side of the atrium. The right side adjoins a bar with loud live music until the wee hours.

There are rows of open-air stalls with clothes, crafts, etc. along Lopez Mateos along the edge of the zona and on Altamirano.

The real SGs tend to be hanging around on a corner or walking more or less a circuit. You'll kind of notice that they don't go into the bars or hotels unless already with a client. I generally assume it's because they don't have the tarjeta de sanidad (health card). The hotel lobby/stairwell girls sometimes wander a few meters away out of boredom or frustration from waiting. My observations confirm Joe's comments that SGs are unwelcome in the bars.

[/begin unsolicited personal advice] I have had plenty of conversations with girls of all types in la zona. Be careful with SGs. Most are unchecked for health. Several I know to have drug addictions and/or bacterial infections. Of the four hottest SGs I've seen over the years there, three were ROBs. [/end unsolicited personal advice]

Let me say that I not only appreciate but respect Joe's opinion. I always drive in the zone and since Hotel Colonial has multiple parking have never had a problem with bringing in my wife. Gave the advice assuming one wants a nice room with heat or a/c as the case may be. Stayed in Mexicali over this weekend at the City Express Hotel, which is chica friendly. Went to the Fiestas Del Sol fair, and to the Franco De Vita concert, and picked up a non-pro at the concert. After the concert, we took a taxi to the City Express, where I had some adult beverages in the room. We watched some TV, and then she was all over me, could have been the soap opera we were watching...lol. Real nice GFE for the whole night.

Slowly, I'm trying to put together a map that lists all the popular locations in Mexico (Mexicali, Los Algodones, & TJ. Originally, it was for my own purpose. It's nice knowing where everything is and when I take a taxi. I can see if I'm getting to where I need to be or needing to jump out of a moving taxicab, as I am probably being kidnapped. Ha Ha Ha.

I can take these locations and upload them to my TomTom GPS, or my GPS enabled smart phone.

I've shared it with some friends, and they're really liking it. I guess the biggest problem for me and them is, when reading reviews of places, it's hard to find them when you get to Mexico. I mean, it took 5 PMs to users and reading 15 older posts before I finally found Bar San Diego. There is a new currency law in effect in Mexico were establishments are limited to $100 US per transaction. Not everyone is following the new law but it is something to be aware of. You can google new mexico currency law for all the changes.

Earlier reports (from 2004) puts it on Benito Juarez, just before Lazaro Cardenas. On a small street. I mapped it but was unable to find it. I did, however, find Prestige Massage. It's on Torreon road.

Based on that review, Geisha has probably renamed itself to Prestige.

That same review also said that the prices are within $5 of Cleopatra.

I visited dentist in los algodones about two weeks ago. I sleep for three nights in the el stablo. There are more girls on weekend only. On Monday, there is not many girls. Over night in motel room costs 300 peso. Girls cost 800 peso for 40 minute and 1000 peso for one hour. Experience is hit and miss but I think it is good for mexicali standard. Girl drink cost 100 peso. You can take bus to center(need to change bus and one ride cost 9 peso.) taxi collective cost 12 peso. You can get normal taxi for 50 peso. There is Chinese buffet and shopping mall cross street. There is a bus between algondone and mexicali and it cost 60 peso. If you want street action, you can stay hotel mexico (280 peso)or hotel chinesca (300 peso)in center. These two hotel only allow bring in one chica. All other low class hotel in center charge 50-60 peso for bringing in chica regardless if you sleep there or not. Standard price for street girl is 200 peso. You can go to any hotel to get a map and locate where you are, then you can hop on any bus for 9 peso. I think mexicali is best border town but it is not really worth to travel there unless you live in CA and AZ.

Go straight for about 1. 6 miles to Rio Culican, go right for about. 6 miles and you see BSD on the left. Get there about 6:30/7 pm for fresh meat. Otherwise hit the zone. Different directions. Bear RIGHT for 5 blocks or so. If you to to MEXICALI street you have gone too far. Go back one block or turn right and you are in the ZONE. Look for girls hanging out or just inside a hotel. Watch for chicas con dickas (guys with dicks). If you are walking, cross border. Get some pesos then turn right then left and continue this process for 3 times or so. U are in the zone. Good luck.

Also, The Gato Negro seemed like a great place to view, dance & talk with a lot of different girls. One night at close, two of the girls gave me a ride back to my hotel, across town on Justo Sierra. They came in and used the bathroom but had to go home to their kids. Carol (busty blonde) Yeshia (dark haired spinner). Have phone numbers for those interested. Never had time to close a deal with either of them. Also, finally got hold of Pamela (reported on by 2nd Chance). Thought she was a go, but in the end never did link up (also have number).

Most taxi drivers were willing to take from my hotel on Justo Sierra to anywhere in town for 50pesos. They know all the bars and make finding them a lot easier... at least your first time there. I drove to the bars the first night, but after having the cops pull me over several time.... I decided it was easier and a lot less hassle to pay a taxi driver 50pesos.

Note: When I do drive, I NEVER let the cops know I speak any spanish. They usually run throught their limited English speaking abiltities long before they can communicate to me a way of parting me from my CASH. Also, I don't drink... and that is what really hangs them up... they are mostly set up to try and catch you in the DUI thing...or at least beer(s) in your vehicle.

Read the last report with words to the effect that recommendations may or may not be true. Everyone has different tastes. The only bar I have seen with sufficient selection is ADELITAS in Tijuana. With over 100 hookers in one bar if you can't find something there you don't want to get laid! Anyway, just keep on trying. There are many fish in the sea and I cannot think of a better past time that attempts to find a woman that 1] likes to f* and 2] knows how.

It took me about 3 years and I found mine.

Things take time in MXL, it is not Tijuana.

The second goal is to find a woman that knows how to do world class oral for 200 pesos. 300 tops to full completion including going to Capistrano! I have three in the stable but am missing one that went North 6 months ago. Capitalism is alive.

I would like to add as much stuff to it as possible. Next will be hotels. I'm just having trouble finding them in Google Maps. Google maps has a hard time with the addresses.

I actually parked my car there for 4 nights once without issue. I was in Mexicali for other reasons than our favorite hobby, I had some surgery. In fact, if you need any medical procedures that your insurance will not cover, Mexicali is an awesome place to go. Surgeries for 1/3 the cost. Anyway, sorry to get off topic, it is true the parking lot does have a lot of pot holes. It is not paved so when you pick up your car it will be covered in dust so you will probably want to wash it. Other than that though it is a good place for long term parking.

Of course we have all heard the horror stories about people driviing in Mexico with corrupt cops that want bribes trying to give tickets for infractions that never occurred. How much does cab fare run to get to El Establo and to Bar San Diego? Do they have a public bus system now? If you do drive it, does El Establo and Bar San Diego have secure, guarded parking lots? I drive a newer, nicer car so I would be afraid of it being stolen or jacked down there.

Does anyone know if GPS systems work down there like Garmin?GPS is a satellite based system. It doesn't matter if you're in Arizona, Canada, Mexico. Or the North Pole. All you need is is the Mexico map loaded into your Garmin.

If you have a North America Map, it may include Mexico. You'll just have to check your device or check with Garmin. I should warn you. Updated maps can be expensive. Last year, I needed a TomTom map of Europe, it was cheaper for me to buy a new GPS that included Europe. Good thing, as the newer GPS has a larger screen. .

I usually use Google Maps on my cellphone. Granted, I usually don't venture far from the border and the signal strength is still pretty good.

GPS. Sometime ago I bought a Garmin nuvi (portable 4") with a Mexico map loaded on ebay. If you are close to the border there is no need for GPS. If driving on outskirts and your novia lives in the boonies (some dump) which most do, get a Garmin.

I say this as you will be in unfamiliar territory at night and driving or in a taxi and after the dirty deed you will wonder,"where in the f* am I?" and two, how do I get back? Portable garmins help and I also mount mine on my moto. MXL garmin maps are bad but it doesn't matter. It gets you close to the house enough to jog the memory or points you toward the border.

Driving / Cops. I get stopped all the time. Just speak English and say you will follow them to the station. After a few blocks they let you go. This stops the "gringo bust" which does happen

I would never use AA parking again. I parked my truck there 3 times without incident but on the 4th time my license plates were stolen. I got there late to pick up my truck and when I realized it, I told them but they didn't seem to care. I spent the next hour or so trying to find the police station in Calexico and filing a report. I just got the feeling that AA really didn't care about the theft and I didn't feel safe parking there after that. Park at walmart and take a cab to the border. My 2 cents. Done that a million times without a problem. Walmart has security and a can to and from the border is cheap and always available.

They are chica friendly. Just be sure to say that two are your party when you pay. They have some silly rule that says you must pay for two people. It is not exactly double the rate for a single. That way when your esccort arrives the front desk persoon will understand and you will not be stopped prior to going upstairs.

On Saturday I went to Mexicali for the first time for mongering. I had been to Mexicali before but I was there in the past for other reasons, never to monger. I have been to both Los Algodones and Nogales before for mongering but never Mexicali. I have for quite some time been reading the posts on here about fun in Mexicali so I had always been intrigued. I finally decided to try it here. I am glad I did.

Since I speak zero Spanish and I have read in this forum several times in the past that Mexicali is not as tourist friendly as other border towns in that very few people speak English there I decided that at least for my first time there I needed someone that "knew the ropes". Apache came to the call of duty! Thank you Apache for your help. Since I am a caucasian that drives a 2010 model year car that can be described as very flashy looking (bright read with a sporty looking exterior, a spoiler and sports trim package) I decided it would not be wise to drive accross the border. My car has the word gringo written all over it. As Apache said to me,"it has a bullseye painted on the trunk of it". I parked my car at AA parking and walked over the border.

I was originally planning on going to El Establo based on the many good reports I had read about it on here. Apache convinced me that I should try the El Gato instead. I am glad he did. I did not have to get a cab and I had probably the best experience in my mongering career. I first was given a tour of the zona. It was quite interesting. A lot different than Nogales or Los Algodones. All kinds of ladies there and a lot of them were actually good looking. They for the most part were not like the tweakers and crack working girls that I am used to seeing on the south side of Phoenix (I live in Phoenix area, Tempe as my name says is a suburb of Phoenix). Yes there were some tweakers and crack working girls but for the most part they were respectable looking. I did not do any of the street ladies but it definitely piqued my interest. That is something that will be left for next time.

The one bad thing about the zona that I did not expect was the number of tranny's there. I have never seen so many tranny's in one place anywhere. Here in Phoenix we see like maybe 2 or 3 tranny's every once and a while. I have never seen a tranny in Nogales or Los Algodones. For some reason they come out of the wood work in Mexicali. I probably saw 25 tranny's there. You really have to look carefully at a lady before you pick her up.

After my tour of the Zona with my awesome tour guide Apache we finally went to El Gato Negro. I should mention before the tour Apache also knew of a very good Chinese restaurant close to the zona. It was very reasonable and the food was pretty good. When we got to El Gato Negro Apache knew exactly who to talk to. He knew a waiter named Pedro who spoke perfect English. He was able to find me a very attractive lady who went by the name of Candy. I later found out her real name is Karina. Karina did speak some English. I bought Candy a couple of Ficha drinks and off we went. A sort of funny thing happenned before we went though. As I was sitting at the table with Apache I took a Cialis pill I had bought from a pharmacy in the tunnel leading into Mexicali. Candy saw the packaging from the pill and asked me if I was ill since I was taking that pill. I said no and I tried to explain that it was Cialis but Candy could not understand. Apache then in spanish tried to explain that I had taken Cialis and she still did not understand. Apache then basically told her that Cialis is a "super Viagra" and then she understood and laughed. When you are 40 years old like I am you need that help from Cialis. LOL Viagra no longer does it so you need the super potent Cialis.

When we left the El Gato Negro I let Candy aka Karina pick the hotel. I just told her to get me a reasonable hotel. She said she knew of a cheap one but it did not have a television if that would not bother me. I told her that I definitely was not going to the hotel room to watch television and she laughed. She took me to Hotel Posada. It maybe was a bit run down and it was not a place with amenities that an American hotel would have but since I was only going to be in there for an hour I did not care. We got in there and she actually started to have a conversation with me. She was talking about her children and her family and whatnot. I could not believe this. It has been my experience in Nogales and Los Algodones that usually the experience is literally in and out. You rarely spend more than like 30 minutes at most with a provider. You go in, do the deed, and leave. They never talk to you. I have an Android cell phone that has an application on it which is a talking Spanish English translator which came in very handy. Sometimes when Karina could not understand me or I could not understand her we used this. You literally talk into the phone and it talks back whatever you said in Spanish. She could also talk to it in Spanish and it would talk back to me in English. It was a very good thing to have. If any of you have Android phones or Iphones I highly recommend this. If you pm me I can give you details on how to get it and how much it costs etc. If you do not have an Android or Iphone I highly recommend getting one of those too.

When I took off my shirt Candy noticed the incisions from my surgery. I told her about the surgery and told her that it was even done in Mexicali. I told her the surgeon that did it and the hospital that did it and she knew them both. We then had a lengthy coversation about this hospital and how it is one of the best hospitals in Mexicali. I used to be a very overweight person weighing in excess of 400 pounds. I had weight loss surgery in Mexicali and lost approximately 200 pounds. I literally paid about a third of what I would have in the city of Phoenix. If any of you are seriously overweight you can PM me and I can tell you a world class surgeon in Mexicali that can give you surgery that is just as good as any American surgeon can do for a third of the cost. After our lengthy conversations she finally started to play with my member and it immediately stood up to attention. She then laugbed and said "Cialis" and I laughed. She then asked me what I wanted and I said full service and she went to business. She was awesome. It was a full GFE from the beginning. She started to kiss me on the lips and thrust really fast. She asked me if I wanted more positions but I told her that I really was into cowgirl style (yeah, I know I am strange but that is really the only position I like). It took me a while to complete but she waited the enitre time until I did. After I was done she cleaned me up and I was still erect so again she marvelled at the powers of Cialis. She sat there and made some small conversation again and then what happenned was amazing. She asked me if I wanted to go again since I was still erect. I asked her how much and she said no charge because I was such a nice guy and she wanted to. We literally went again and this time it took even longer. She waited until I performed again. At the end she gave me her phone number. If anyone wants it PM me and I will give it to you. As I was pulling a piece of paper out of my pocket she noticed one of them had instructions written on it on how to go to El Establo. She asked me who gave me those instructions. I explained that I got them off the internet. She told me that I made a wise choice not to go there. She explained to me that she has worked there before and that there you only get a half hour and then someone knocks on the door and it is over. Here I can have her as long as I need to complete. She said the girls at El Gato Negro are better qualilty and are nicer too. I am glad that Apache directed me to El Gato Negro which I found out from Karina means "The Black Cat" in English. The total costs ended up being 50 pesos for the room which I probably had close to 2 hours. 50 pesos tip to Pedro. 100 pesos to the house for the girl. 800 pesos to Candy. 2 Ficha Drinks at 50 pesos each. There were girls in the El Gato Negro that were only 500 pesos but I paid more to get this incredible beauty.

After this amazing experience I was so exhausted that I could hardly stay awake so I walked back to the border. I am sorry Apache that I did not go back to see you like you expected. I owe you one. Next time I see you down there I will buy you a drink or something. A big thanks to 2nd Chance on this board for your map. I was able to bring it up on the google maps application on my Android phone and it helped me get back to the border. The map was awesome.

When I got into the border crossing station though I had a bad experience. I gave the customs guy my passport and for some reason he thought it looked suspicious, not sure why. He asked me for my driver license and started giving me the Spanish inquistion. He still did not like it so he brought his boss over. They were asking me like where are you from? Where were you born? When I was from a different place than where I was born they started asking me why that was. I was angry thinking to myself duh. This is America, a lot of people live in different states than they were born in. When he asked me what I was doing in Mexicali of course I did not tell him what I was there for. I said I was visiting a friend. Well I was I visited my new friend Apache. But they would not give up they like asked me what I did for a living, what my friend did for a living, where my friend was from, how often do I go to Mexicali, when did I come in etc. I was probably questioned for 20 minutes by the supervisor before he finally decided to let me in. I do not know why. I do not think I look suspicious. I am a caucasian that speaks perfect non accented English. I got back home at about 5:30 A. M. In the future I think I will look into getting a hotel. All in all a good experience in Mexicali except for the border crossing people. I definitely will be back.

I would say most of the girls were 7-9's. They were pretty hot there. It is within walking distance of the border. It is quite close to the zona. It is probably maybe a 15 minute walk from the Calexico West POE. No taxi needed for this one. I would certainly recommend it.

Report from last Sunday evening: Parked in Calexico, walked to the zona. Walked the block bounded by the Hotel Chinesca and Playboy. Saw a couple familiar faces. A very hot but not friendly girl in the stairwell of Hotel 16 de Septiembre. Only planned to be there a couple hours, and the line to cross to the USA was long when I last saw it. Already going back to "La Linia" (the border crossing) when I saw superhot new girl "Monica" walking toward me from the mass transit on Lopez Mateos. We crossed paths near the corner across the street from Hotel Nuevo Pacifico. Not up to writing a play-by-play right now, but here's the summary version: She's really 18 (saw her I'd) , and the hottest teen I've ever been with. We'll meet in a couple hours, kinda killing time in the best, non-infernal climate I've ever met in Mexicali. On Saturday I went to Mexicali for the first time for mongering. I had been to Mexicali before but I was there in the past for other reasons, never to monger. I have been to both Los Algodones and Nogales before for mongering but never Mexicali. I have for quite some time been reading the posts on here about fun in Mexicali so I had always been intrigued. I finally decided to try it here. I am glad I did.

Since I speak zero Spanish and I have read in this forum several times in the past that Mexicali is not as tourist friendly as other border towns in that very few people speak English there I decided that at least for my first time there I needed someone that "knew the ropes". Apache came to the call of duty! Thank you Apache for your help. Since I am a caucasian that drives a 2010 model year car that can be described as very flashy looking (bright read with a sporty looking exterior, a spoiler and sports trim package) I decided it would not be wise to drive accross the border. My car has the word gringo written all over it. As Apache said to me,"it has a bullseye painted on the trunk of it". I parked my car at AA parking and walked over the border.

I was originally planning on going to El Establo based on the many good reports I had read about it on here. Apache convinced me that I should try the El Gato instead. I am glad he did. I did not have to get a cab and I had probably the best experience in my mongering career. I first was given a tour of the zona. It was quite interesting. A lot different than Nogales or Los Algodones. All kinds of ladies there and a lot of them were actually good looking. They for the most part were not like the tweakers and crack working girls that I am used to seeing on the south side of Phoenix (I live in Phoenix area, Tempe as my name says is a suburb of Phoenix). Yes there were some tweakers and crack working girls but for the most part they were respectable looking. I did not do any of the street ladies but it definitely piqued my interest. That is something that will be left for next time.

The one bad thing about the zona that I did not expect was the number of tranny's there. I have never seen so many tranny's in one place anywhere. Here in Phoenix we see like maybe 2 or 3 tranny's every once and a while. I have never seen a tranny in Nogales or Los Algodones. For some reason they come out of the wood work in Mexicali. I probably saw 25 tranny's there. You really have to look carefully at a lady before you pick her up.

After my tour of the Zona with my awesome tour guide Apache we finally went to El Gato Negro. I should mention before the tour Apache also knew of a very good Chinese restaurant close to the zona. It was very reasonable and the food was pretty good. When we got to El Gato Negro Apache knew exactly who to talk to. He knew a waiter named Pedro who spoke perfect English. He was able to find me a very attractive lady who went by the name of Candy. I later found out her real name is Karina. Karina did speak some English. I bought Candy a couple of Ficha drinks and off we went. A sort of funny thing happenned before we went though. As I was sitting at the table with Apache I took a Cialis pill I had bought from a pharmacy in the tunnel leading into Mexicali. Candy saw the packaging from the pill and asked me if I was ill since I was taking that pill. I said no and I tried to explain that it was Cialis but Candy could not understand. Apache then in spanish tried to explain that I had taken Cialis and she still did not understand. Apache then basically told her that Cialis is a "super Viagra" and then she understood and laughed. When you are 40 years old like I am you need that help from Cialis. LOL Viagra no longer does it so you need the super potent Cialis.

When we left the El Gato Negro I let Candy aka Karina pick the hotel. I just told her to get me a reasonable hotel. She said she knew of a cheap one but it did not have a television if that would not bother me. I told her that I definitely was not going to the hotel room to watch television and she laughed. She took me to Hotel Posada. It maybe was a bit run down and it was not a place with amenities that an American hotel would have but since I was only going to be in there for an hour I did not care. We got in there and she actually started to have a conversation with me. She was talking about her children and her family and whatnot. I could not believe this. It has been my experience in Nogales and Los Algodones that usually the experience is literally in and out. You rarely spend more than like 30 minutes at most with a provider. You go in, do the deed, and leave. They never talk to you. I have an Android cell phone that has an application on it which is a talking Spanish English translator which came in very handy. Sometimes when Karina could not understand me or I could not understand her we used this. You literally talk into the phone and it talks back whatever you said in Spanish. She could also talk to it in Spanish and it would talk back to me in English. It was a very good thing to have. If any of you have Android phones or Iphones I highly recommend this. If you pm me I can give you details on how to get it and how much it costs etc. If you do not have an Android or Iphone I highly recommend getting one of those too.

I used to be a very overweight person weighing in excess of 400 pounds. I had weight loss surgery in Mexicali and lost approximately 200 pounds. I literally paid about a third of what I would have in the city of Phoenix. If any of you are seriously overweight you can PM me and I can tell you a world class surgeon in Mexicali that can give you surgery that is just as good as any American surgeon can do for a third of the cost. After our lengthy conversations she finally started to play with my member and it immediately stood up to attention. She then laugbed and said "Cialis" and I laughed. When I got into the border crossing station though I had a bad experience. I gave the customs guy my passport and for some reason he thought it looked suspicious, not sure why. He asked me for my driver license and started giving me the Spanish inquistion. He still did not like it so he brought his boss over. They were asking me like where are you from? Where were you born? When I was from a different place than where I was born they started asking me why that was. I was angry thinking to myself duh. This is America, a lot of people live in different states than they were born in. When he asked me what I was doing in Mexicali of course I did not tell him what I was there for. I said I was visiting a friend. Well I was I visited my new friend Apache. But they would not give up they like asked me what I did for a living, what my friend did for a living, where my friend was from, how often do I go to Mexicali, when did I come in etc. I was probably questioned for 20 minutes by the supervisor before he finally decided to let me in. I do not know why. I do not think I look suspicious. I am a caucasian that speaks perfect non accented English. I got back home at about 5:30 am In the future I think I will look into getting a hotel. All in all a good experience in Mexicali except for the border crossing people. I definitely will be back. I think it happened last summer when my useless female attorney failed to fill my motion in time and my gift was a bench warrant issued for my arrest. I had to get bailed out on a Saturday evening. Went to my hearing October 21 and the judge sqasked the bench warrant. Went to court November 23rd to plea my misdemeanor charge. All finished in Yuma County but border patrol still has me profiled. 50% of those agents are morons with an attitude and a badge. Be prepared to answer some ridicules questions when returning. Seems the agents in Algodones have a real moral problem with their operation.

Read the reports of some members returning and all I can say is that CLX is a training port and there are a bunch of stupid rookies working especially at night. Just answer their questions. When asked. What was the purpose of your trip try this retort. You are a customs officer right? Yes and I have to tell the truth is that right, YES, and if I don't tell the truth that is a federal crime isn't it? YES, then the truth is I went to Mexicali to 1) get a blow job and 2) get laid. I can assure you you will not be sent to secondary. If they start giving you shit take out a pen and paper and write down their name. It is like maybe a few miles east of the Golden China Restaurant that many people on this forum have referred to on Ave. Madero. Dr. Aceves USA phone number answered in English is 1-888-344-3916. He does the surgery at 1/3 the cost and is a world class surgeon. He is the chief bariatric surgeon in the entire country of Mexico and he even is a member of all the american surgeon groups. When I was there, I actually saw people that were only 20 pounds overweight getting a lesser procedure done than I got known as the lap band so he would probably help both you and your friend. Mexicali is a great place for other things too. I know there is a Sears, Best Buy, and even a Wal Mart / Sams Club down there. There is a mall down there that has the Best Buy in it with a bunch of other stores. I honestly do not remember where it is as I was taken there by another driver. I have been told the reason why Mexicali is more modern and clean looking is that it is the capitol of the Mexican state of Baja California. If you like Chinese food there are a multitude of Chinese restaurants. Some of them are very good. I know it is strange to find Chinese food in Mexico but Mexicali has a very large Chinese population. It goes back to the early days of the city when they were brought in to do work down there. Also, if you ever need any medical procedures done that are not covered by your insurance like maybe plastic surgery, bariatric surgery, cosmetic dentistry etc you can find world class medical providers that will do it for about a third of the cost in the United States. You can also find very cheap medications down there. I think almost everyone on this board has been to there pharmacies for Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis. LOL. I personally had some major surgery down there and had a very good experience.

The only problem with Mexicali is that it is not really a touristy place so there are not a lot of people that speak English like you find in Nogales, Los Algodones or Tijuana. If you are like me and do not speak any Spanish it is tougher to get around. I bring along talking translators on my Android phone to help me with that issue.

In fact that was one thing that surprised me about how most of the SW's were like women that were trying to take care of there children and earn some money. The only hotel that I have ever spent the night there is a really nice 5 star hotel called the Lucerna. It is well over your $40 rate though. It runs about $90 a night. It is probably the best, most decadent hotel in Mexicali, truly a 5 star hotel but you do pay for that and it is not near any of the action. When I stayed there, I was in Mexicali for other reasons. It is not real friendly towards mongering so if you go there you would have to be very discreet.

I have heard very good reports from other people on the board about a hotel called La Chinesca that is like maybe 2 blocks away from the zona. It is chica friendly. I did walk by it and even went inside of a room in it with a friend of mine. It looked very nice. From what I understand it is under $40 a night. I have heard that Hotel Del Norte is good too. I have only seen it from the outside.

I haven't been to Giau Giau in a long long time. It used to be worth the stop. Another good place on the way to El Establo is La Cabana, which is on the North side of Lazero Cardenas across the street from a restaurant named Los Arbolitos.

La Mosca 1 is a good stop before or after Bar San Diego as well as El Nido which is next door to La Mosca.

There are over 400 Chinese restaurants in Mexicali and I haven't been to a bad one yet.

And as far as "La Zona" goes, the entire city of Mexicali is La Zona. Just about every little bar has one or more gals working in it. Sometimes you can find a real winner in some of the hole in the wall bars. It just depends on your luck.

I enjoy reading your posts on the Tijuana boards. I have spent a great deal of time in Tijuana also. And my favorite spot is Chicago Club. Less of a meat fest and the girls are much more friendlier there than Hong Kong or Adelitas. It really reminds me a lot of some of the places in Mexicali. YMMV!

Planning on heading out to Mexicali this weekend on the hunt for a nice lady.

I'm pretty much a damn regular at La Mosca haha and last time I went, I got a privado with a fine looking blonde girl. fuck the map: i had a couple of maps (2nd chance's) printed out so i could get my bearings straight when i started out. but on my way out the hotel, i thought i would look silly walking around with a map, thus, i tried to remember the names of the streets that the bars were located. so the only gringo in town heads out of the hotel knowing exactly where he's going; didn't work out. i did this series of turns that i thought would put me right on the street that el gato negro was located; instead i ended up back at my hotel!

i passed a sign for la casnoa on my way, so i went back there because at least i knew where it was. i circled the block trying to figure out how to get into this place; my navigation skills went to shit since i retired from the navy. got into the place at around 4:30. about 5 girls, one of them dancing on the "t" stage. i was equipped with a pocket full of one dollar bills, and whipped out my first one, and touching was allowed; i knew it would be a good night.

Here's a re-cap of my Friday night.

I crossed the border into Mexicali around 8:30 and headed off to a favorite bar of mine called Monaco Beer Club located at Ave. Lerdo #699 which is a couple minutes walk away from the strip club intersection (Miau Miau, Kaoz, La Mosca 2, and Porky's). They have a very wide variety of imported beers and pretty English friendly. Anyways, drank a beer with friends and decided to leave to La Mosca 2.

Once we arrived, most of the girls were already sitting down and drinking with customers. The women here vary and could be possible to say that there has to be at least one girl you'll have interest in but from what I can tell, they have some of the younger looking women compared to other strip joints. Since I was with company, we bought a bucket (cubeta) of 8 beers of your choice which comes with a table dance with your pick of girl. Was 240p which was strange since it has always been 200p but I guess the bartender wanted extra since me and my friends were scrambling through our pockets and trying to pay evenly for it.

After we had seen about 4 girls dance on stage, we picked a girl for the table dance and my attention was immediately stolen by the cutie who had just walked on stage to dance. I was shaking my head back and forth trying to look at both ladies haha. After the table dance, I went up to the guy who usually stands by the steps and grabs the strippers clothing / money for her and asked him to arrange a privado with her when she was done. This place is pretty ridiculous when it comes towards the prices of the drinks and even more ridiculous when you buy the girls drinks.

One hot lady was walking around and looking for any takers for a privado and eventually ended up at my booth and we greeted and chatted for a bit. Asked me if I wanted to get a privado or a blowjob and asked her how much for sex and told me 1200p. So off I went with her and everything was really great but my only gripe was that she didn't like getting fingered and no matter how much I tried to get her to let me she just didn't go for it. Time was pretty good, she didn't rush for me to finish, neither did employees come up and interrupt.

I've been mongering in Mexicali for a couple of years now. I've savored Mexicali's roses in clubs, hotels and calles. Last night I got a surprise I wasn't ready for. I was walking down Lerdo de Tejada in the zona about 11 PM, negotiating with a cute single mom to come back to my hotel room when she suddenly stopped talking and seemed to freeze.

A policia truck had just pulled up and one of the cops inside called her over. I remembered hearing how they'd hassling street girls and I started to proceed on my way. The cop got out of the truck and yelled at me to come over.

Oh sh*t. I'd been through this in Tijuana but didn't think it possible in Mexicali. The cop asks me if I speak spanish and I tell him a little. He proceeds to tell me I've committed a felony by soliciting the girl and that he's arresting us both and taking us down to la commendancia.

I tell him I was only talking to her and he yells that I am a liar. He asks me what I do for work in the US, I tell him my profession and he yells aren't I ashamed of myself. I know the game from Tijuana. I'm supposed to act respectful but firm and tell him to take me and wait overnight in jail to be released by a judge for a nominal fine. Either that, or I'm driven out in the middle of nowhere and let go.

He pats me down (doesn't go through my pockets) asks if I have any weapons or drugs to which I reply in the negative. He wants ID and I show him my passport. Finally I ask what kind of fine we can settle this with and he acts dramatically offended at first, lecturing me on the seriousness of my "crimen."

Finally he wants to know how much money I have on me, asking in english "How much? How much?" I tell him 600 pesos and he acts insulted. He tells me again in english this will cost 250 dollars. I act terrified and convince him I don't have anything remotely like that amount, that I am an americano but pobre.

I show him I have 750 pesos and that is it. He acts affronted but asks cop #2 if this is enough. Cop #2 is irritated with cop #1 and wants to get out of there. Cop # 1 instructs me to take the bills out but to keep them low and out of view of passers by. I say "no entiendo" and hold up the money for all to see and cop #1 almost has a stroke.

He growls at me to lower the bills and discretely hand them over to him. He then bellows at me to be on my way.

I know I could have called his bluff and refused but I didn't want to risk missing my bus back today. Girls I talked to later tell me this has been commonplace for some time and that once at the commandancia they extort any where from 300-600 pesos in fines, but is relatively new with gringos. Comments I heard ranged from "pinche raterros" to "muy corrupto." Shades of Tijuana?

I don't know if this will be a future trend or a passing phase. This morning in the zona, the cops were out in force seemingly pulling everyone over for anything. The encounter cost me about 62 bucks and could have been much worse. If you're new to Mexicali, you're of course safe in the clubs, fine with the hotel girls but be careful on the streets.

They are generally viewed as more corrupt than the PAN so perhaps the police took that as a green light to extort Apache.

To reiterate, the cop who jacked me emphasized this and repeated himself several times: Mongering w / hotel and club girls is perfectly tolerated. The situations they are targeting are independent walkers. I don't think this is a fluke because I've seen several freelance girls disappear who used to roam the streets with regularity.

The ones who are left tell me they are repeatedly arrested and taken down to the commandancia where sums of $3-400 pesos are routinely extracted in fines. Reinaldo points out that the policia can legally justify this with the girls who are unable to produce health cards. What is new is the crackdown on mongers.

Personally I hope it's a fluke because for years, it's been a great mongering alternative to the hustle of Tijuana. Again though, I don't want to discourage anyone from partaking of the talent in the clubs and hotels.

From the research I've done it seems like La Chinesca is the place for me. It has been reported that it is in walking distance to the border and the zona. Girl friendly is a huge plus and the price is right.

The last time he stayed there was in April 2005. Tom Jackin stayed there months ago so I would consider him to be a much more reliable source. Having said that if I was going to Mexicali without a car I would also choose La Chinesca because it's closer to the sg action.

i wish somebody had saved my ass from coming here. it took me a little less than 2 hours to figure out that i was not in the right place. there is absolutely no party vibe here at all yet alone atmosphere. there is a tiny centro when you cross the bridge and that is it. there are no interesting shops to look at. there are no dollar beers or taco stands like tijuana just gross looking diners. the people are not as friendly as tijuana. the scene is very much like a graveyard. there are almost no internet cafes and the food in general is not exciting.

i found the clubs and zona within an hour. the clubs are what you expect but the hotel girls are a total bomb. lots of ugly trannies as well. the sg women are gross even by artisttyp standards.

oh well i had to see it for myself. i was curious. i am sure it picks up a little on the weekends but it is total suburbia here. not for me. i will head back to tijuana hopefully saturday.

i looked at a room at la chinesca. it reminded me of a time out room i once encountered in reform school. small clean and no air to breath. luckily i found another deal with much better services.

i do sincerely appreciate the help though.

conclusion :

if you live in calexico why not but for no reason should anyone feel the need to come here.

You just need to know the right places to go. It's not that easy in Mexicali without a car, or at least an idea of where to take a cab to. There are awesome places to get tacos, or just about any other type of food in Mexicali. There are HOT girls also. If you're used to Tijuana, I can see how Mexicali might be a let down. It's really a totally different vibe. It's not touristy and they don't really cater to americans for the most part.

Well stated. I have been to Tijuana many times and it is like a candy store and you have to make no effort to find anything as it is all in one place. In Mexicali you have to search and discover the city. There are some great clubs but they are spread out over the whole city. The people in Mexicali are friendly and I am not as uncomfortable about being ripped off or hassling with the policia like Tijuana. No good places to eat? OH my Mexicali has awsome tacos and Chinese food to die for. I drive and know the city well now. If you read the forum and ask questions and PM the frequent members to this forum you will enjoy Mexicali. Not going to say anything bad about anyone but I think each to his own. I have enjoyed reading this forum over the years and then driving to and finding the places the members of this forum talk about and check it out. I love El Establo and Bar Sandiego. They are very different in their own ways. But once again to each their own. I could spend all day talking about other things to do in but chase putas. Oh well take care all.

You just need to know the right places to go. It's not that easy in Mexicali without a car, or at least an idea of where to take a cab to. There are awesome places to get tacos, or just about any other type of food in Mexicali. There are HOT girls also. If you're used to Tijuana, I can see how Mexicali might be a let down. It's really a totally different vibe. It's not touristy and they don't really cater to americans for the most part.

Mexicali and Tijuana Run!

I'm planning my first trip to Tijuana on Friday 6/17. This will, for sure, be the longest drive I've done for a piece of ass. Ha Ha. Ok, I will also be deviating to Mexicali as the 1/2 way point.

I will leave the metro Phoenix / Glendale area around 3-4pm. Will be making my way via Gila Bend and Yuma. Make a pit stop in Mexicali for a breather and to check out a couple of bars. Should be there by 8pm.

Depending on how Mexicali goes, I may crash at a local motel in Calexico, or just continue to San Diego and get a motel there.

Saturday, depending on your suggestions, I make cruise around San Diego and head into Tijuana when the action starts up. Or, just head there first thing in the morning and be a tourist in Tijuana before mongering.

I will have to be back in Phx by noon on Sunday, so will need to leave Tijuana by 4am. Yeah. It's going to be rough, but FUN!

It's a LONG 6 hour drive. So, I'm looking for a fellow monger (s) to come along for the ride, split some small expenses, shoot the shit and have a little fun.

Especially one that is familiar with Tijuana.

Also, if anyone else is going to be there, PM me and we can hook up for drinks and stuff!

June 8. I was talked into an impromptu trip to Mexicali by a couple of my friends. So after work we loaded up the car and drove out.

We arrived at 10:30pm and parked at our usual spot, right in front of the Entry point. Made a pit stop for some tacos at Asadero Del Norte, then made our way to the Zone. Wednesday was kinda quiet. Other than ourselves, we spotted only 4 other American tourists.

I wanted to visit Sportsbar 624, but it was quiet there and I only spotted 1 girl. We walked past all the hotel chicas and nothing really struck us as a 'must have'.

We headed to El Koaz. Always a fun place. $20peso beers and a waiter that spoke very good english. Chatted with some of the girls and both my buddies took advantage of the 2 for $200 peso private dance. Man, when did the chica drinks get so expensive? It was $100pesos! We spent 2 hours here, so we decided to check out the action of the other neighboring clubs.

Porky's was loaded with 15 girls, but none that met my high school fantasy needs. El Miau-Miau was the same, but only had about 6 girls visable. La Mosca had only a handful but one really suited me. Unfortunately, time was running out and I needed to get back to my car before the 2am street sweepers.

I had 15 minutes to spare so I thought I'd visit Sportsbar 624 one more time. They were closed. I guess business was slow so they closed early? Anyone know what their hours of operations are?

Overall, my buddies had fun. The trip was shorter than I would have hoped for. I had the next day off so I would have loved to have stayed longer, but one of my buds had to be home by 3pm, to get ready for work.

Anyway, the selection was not as good, but as expected for a Wednesday. I think I will take another trip back here on a Friday and see if I can have a little bit more fun.

Side note: OMG! I took my Jeep and from Glendale, AZ I spent $155 in gas! May have to rethink these short trips. Really need to do a 2-3 day trip to make the fuel expense worthwhile.

In Tijuas at least at peak hours they have separate lines for those who have the required documents and those who don't. However no preference is given to USA passport holders over those holding a green card or laser visa.

You should consider using the mexican bus system to travel through border towns. They are all connected for a small fee.

I suggest you consider getting the SENTRI PASSPORT CARD. You need to have a squeaky clean police record. The wait in the special Sentri auto lines is usually zero to five minutes.

It's been stated that hookers can be found in many bars throughout Mexicali, not just in the zona.

If you spend $120 there is a few agents be it mamma san (mother) a older sister, a friend alonf with the transporting agent I. E. Taxi driver adding their fee. Try it. My advice. The difference between $120 pussy and $40 pussy is $80! My suggestion iss not to do it. You will get a non-pro who is desperate for milk money, is scared and inexperienced. Her boyfriend / husband either split or is putting her up to it. (Ask Joe Arturo about his experience) She will be presentable and provide a perfunctory screw, nothing more. Try it once but I suggest to save your $$$

If you do not habla use someone in the zone who speaks English. Another trick is to buy a newspaper or read one in a barber shop. Look in classifieds and masaje portion will show 20 or so numbers to call. Same scam so be aware. Life is good.

It has been about 5 months since I was in Mexicali. I had a great experience at El Establo only so-so at BSD and haven't tried El Gato Negro. I wondered what is best mid week (I will be there Wednesday and Thursday) and what the going rate is now.

Some of the centro streets go off into little lanes or rather off shoot streets. You may want to be more aware of your surroundings at that point.

Action starts later in the day as far as the most obvious pfp options go. Maybe someone can turn you onto classifieds ads or escorts for more flexibility. If I remember correctly several escort agencies in tijuana are connected in some way with chicas in mexicali.

At night during the week the streets were rather empty...very easy to have a run in with one of the roaming pick ups of law enforcement officials.

You can walk to the area from the bridge in less than 20 minutes. Be prepared to pay HK prices or choose from only a handful of below average women standing in front of a few hotels. Clubs girls can be very doable but again at HK prices.

JonI can't speak for Mexicali but I intimately know Algodones. This summer has been really bad on the ladies income so prices will remain low until our season starts the first part of October. I just spent last weekend there and negotiated an all nighter at my hotel for $60.

I am open to ideas and live in Yuma just off the I-8 so I am up to meeting with you for a road trip, just let me know!

On Labor Day weekend, a lot of gringos pass through Mexicali on there way to San Felipe. A few stop to monger a bit on their way down or on their way home, but not enough to effect the overall monger / chica ratio. The problem is the the heat. You are probably used to it because you live in Arizona but this last Saturday it was 59 degrees celcius (138. 2 farenheit) in Mexicali. Also if you want to come back to USA on Monday be prepared for a 3 or 4 hour wait to cross the border because of the gringos going home from San Felipe. It is better to go home on Sunday or wait until Tuesday.

I am thinking about going to Mexicali this weekend but am not sure yet. I will let you know.

I would have thought if they had broken the world record it would have made a lot more news. Is that a typo? The hottest I have seen Phoenix is 118 degrees Fahrenheidt so that would be hot to me too. On Saturday night I was crossing back into Calexico at the downtown port. After waiting for about 50 minutes I stopped at the inspection booth and handed the inspector my passport card. He asked if I was bringing anything back and I answered no. He then asked what was the purpose of my visit to Mexico and I answered 'visiting friends'. He then asked what was my friends name to which I replied ' that is none of your business'. At that point I was told to get out of my vehicle and was handcuffed for being 'not compliant' and was taken into the office. I was detained for about 25 minutes and then released. I have crossed this border for more than 35 years and have never had a problem, and I have been to secondary many times and nothing has ever been found in any of my vehicles. When is it their business who I visit? The only questions that I would consider valid are what was the purpose of your visit, how long you were in the country, am I bringing anything back, and what is my citizenship. I feel that if the inspector didn't like my answers, then send me to secondary. I feel being handcuffed was just a power trip on the inspectors part. The irony of this situation is I still didn't tell them the name of my friends. Perhaps next time I will just answer with 'Jose Garcia' because I still consider it none on their business. Only after I was handcuffed did I tell the inspector that he was an A- and that it was still none of his F- business who I was visiting. But I did tell him to "HAVE A NICE DAY"

I asked the supervisor if he thought that maybe the guy might need a little more training beacuse he over reacted in this case. The supervisor just shrugged and then said I was free to go. I think from now on I will just say having dinner when asked that question. I believe it truly is none of their business whether I go to strip clubs or visit friends.
