Brockton O'Tool is right on the money.

After finding nothing but a police sting in San Diego yesterday, I decided to have a look at the TJ scene. I read up on the posts here and Brockton's excellent summary.

I got into Mexico at about 5PM and took a cab ride to AB ($5 as the man said) but did not go in straight away. It was still afternoon and I felt safe enough to stroll down the streets behind AB (I'm as SW type of guy). The Border Patrol agents are instructed to notify the CHP Officers, they are usually lined up on the side of the 805 fwy just as you cross into the US past the Border Inspection facility (if your driving across you'll see about 30+patrol cars on your rear view mirror as you drive through the concrete barriers). If you are walking across you may also have some problems, the local City Police are waiting for you as you come through the double doors (drunk in public also a misdemeanor and it will cost you $$$). They usually work out of a trailer they have stationed right outside of the Border Patrol Facility. The same goes for the Mexican side of the border. However, on the Mexican side of the border it will cost you about $20 US (only if your driving or acting like an ass) instead of the $2500-$5,000 and a misdemeanor on your record, DUI classes, morgue visits, ect. (and you all thought the Mexican authorities were fn thieves; feel free to drive across or walk across drunk this weekend and then let us know).

I hate the cops myself but I can't think of a single intelligent adult who thinks its okay to drive drunk. It's one of the few things the police do that I agree with and yes I've driven drunk lot's of time. Just lucky I guess. I think they should take all the vice cops harassing mongers and SW's and put them on DUI emphasis patrols instead.

just a little rant, here.

drunk drivers need to fucked over. in case you haven't noticed, they've been fucking everyone else over for years.

they should confirep001e the vehicles of drunk drivers and sell them at auction. that would be a perfect way to raise money for this state.

gas should be taxed up to $10/gallon. people would slow down and stop buying suvs for single-passenger use.

luxury vehicle taxes should be added to registration fees for the first 3-4 years. the same should apply to any gas guzzler vehicle.

speeding tickets on the freeway over 90mph should be $1500 and double for each recurring offense.

there are plenty of ways to raise money. i should give arnold a call right now. otherwise, maybe run for governor myself.

I'm sure there's other forums that are interested in political rants. I thought the original poster was trying to be helpful to other mongers, which I thought was this board's best attribute. Sure, there's no excuse for driving hammered, period. But for those of us who might want to have a couple beers with lunch after a rousing session in the Zona might now think twice, even though we would be well within our limits. I'm posting this kinda late, but it's still recent info.

I want to thank most of you for the wonderful reports about the zona norte. Made a trip Sat 5/22 and couldn't have done it without it.

Was out this past weekend (Fri-Sun) south of the border for biz reasons. Drove in late Friday (near Ensenada) and knew I would be tied up all day/night Sat and all day Sun; so, I made an adventurous trip to TJ late/early Saturday. Arrived around 3am. To my suprise the zone was still jumpin. Didn't really know my way around or where i was going; just based on memory about the reports.

Driving down (I think Constitucion) and I make a turn and see a group of 'girls' walking past a food stand and one of 'em flashes me with amazing tits. Of couse, like a real monger, I stop and she jumps in. But for some reason, I didnt feel right. I felt like I was either gonna get set up, or she was a Tranny; I finally said no thank you and got her out of the vehicle. i will be there friday night, probably arriving en la zona norte around 9-10 pm. at first i was thinking that i might tour the zone before heading to hong kong club. but after reading hoconomy's post, i am reminded that it will be midnight-1am my time, and i will have been awake since probably 5 am eastern. so i'll probably 'head' straight to hk after getting settled/showered at the hotel.

looking forward to at least the chance of hooking up with hoconomy (sending you a separate pm after this post) saturday night. anyone who wants to try getting together, send one of us a pm.

btw, i'm not going to continue the taxes/speeders/dui philosophy thread, but i will say this: how about we work on getting prostitution legalized and tax it ? :-)

AlleyKat 13 - Finally, a good experience.

By the way, don't drive drink this weekend. The task forces are suiting up. It's never a good idea anyway but this weekend you'll feel the cross hairs. Cops in the Zona are waiting for you too. Don't mis-behave because they see it as a money making opportunity. Save your money for the girls.

Arrived in the Zona late on Wednesday (business first) at around 9:30. I like to get there a bit earlier so I can get out at a decent hour. Very busy and lots of LE activity.

AB was crowded and I guess at that hour it always is, even during the week. Still plenty of chicas on patrol. The alley was not as active as I thought it would be, perhaps the girls were busy. No sign of the regulars but Monserrat was out. (Jeez, she is so fine.) I saw her when I was enroute to the parking lot but by the time I got to her tree she was gone.

Hacienda was closed, apparently because they violated the 6AM cut off law and were shut down for a day. Not sure if this is true, but the place was locked up for sure (who cares right?).

Most of the scam guys know me now (I wonder why) so they were like vultures circling their prey but I would have no part of that. Amazing that EVERY day is a hustle for the next one for these guys.

Since I was in TJ overnight I booked in at La Villa de Zaragoza on Av Madero. Got the Executive room for $40.00 and it was satisfactory. Like an upscale motel 6 or something. Nothing spectacular to be sure but not bad either. Spent the evening trolling the Alley, visited the usual watering holes and wasted a lot of time (always enjoy watching the chicas though).

Met up with Marie (de Sonora) with green eyes. About 30 yrs and rather cute. 5' 6" about 130 lbs with a bit of extra padding around the waist. As we were talking, two police cars arrived, deck lights flashing, four cops total, suspsects in the back seat of both cars. These clowns drove across lanes and up on the sidewalk about 3 inches from us. As my entire fucking life flashed before my eyes, one of the cops walked over to her and started talking to her (in Spanish of course) and I was thinking to myself - "Man, am I fucked or what?"

So I began making mental notes of the cops description, numbers on the police cars, I remembered how my mommie used to cuddle me in her arms and rock me back and forth until I went to sleep, how comfortable my bed is at home -you know; how my thick slippers wait for me beside my bed, the crackle of the fireplace and how sweet the brandy is as I sip away watching the news before bed time, the important stuff.

I also remembers how smart I was for leaving my monger dollar stash in the car and my secret hiding place for troll money so I was feeling semi-ok if you know what I mean.

Turns out Marie is a "street-mother" of sorts, looking out for chicas who get in trouble. The cops arrived to "consult with her" because the guys in the back of the car were pushing some girls around and they wanted to know if she knew who these guys were before they killed them. I guess if she could vouch for them, the cops would not shoot them. She went to the side of the police caes and looked in but she didn't know them all, so they let three go on the spot and kept one guy who they drove away with. ("Poor bastard" she said, "NEVER hit a girl.")

They did not say word 1 to me. Didn't even look at me, didn't have any interest me at all. She said that I was "cool." By that time the fur on this alleykat was standing straight out, knees knocking etc. I had seen the cops patting down a few white guys on the front of a patrol car around midnight close to AB so I knew the zona was hot.

Back to the girl, one thing led to another and I told her I was looking for someone to spend the evening with and I had about $100 to spend. She said she would come to the hotel for an hour with me but I would have to drive her back. I agreed so we walked to the car, drove several blocks to the Zaragoza (this was about 1AM) and had no problems getting her from the car to the room. Once inside she took a shower right away, was quite relaxed and slipped under the covers. She has a few tats from her younger years that she hates and tried to cover them from view. She also had a few scars that she said were from a car accident in San Diego but they could also have been knife wounds because they are not the tear type injuries you normally see in TA's. Too clean.

Anyway, she started to work the old feller again. I was very afraid by this time because it's been a long time since I did a 3pop but hey, if she was game, so was I! By the way, not one word about money up to this point and certainly no talk about more money for more time. She said she was happy to sleep in a nice room and have a big bathroom etc. She seemed very relaxed.

Eventurally even the old feller couldn't resist the temptation of another pop attempt, and we were going at it again (all the usual action positions etc, you don't need to hear that shit again) until about 6AM and behold the 3 pop. Very nice. I was so proud of the plumbing I almost wept. Here I am, almost 50 and still in decent shape. She jumped into the shower again and spent about 15 minutes in there. I was going in after her.

When she came out I brought up the money issue and told her I had bugeted only $100.00 for the trip and I really didn't have more money for her even though I thought she deserved a tip and she said "Pappa, no problemo, I know, maybe next time OK?" At that point I wanted to marry her and take her home. Women like that are impossible to find. Having been clipped big time in recent visits I was waiting for the clip from her but no clip! I gave her the money, she counted it and then she said "Pappa, you can go back to bed I will take a taxi home." My guess is that she didn't want me to see where she lived. She also probably did not want me driving around in the Zona at that hour, or maybe her BF was out looking for her or who knows what?

Maybe not losing respect for the girls is what helped me here. Like I said before I allowed myself to be clipped and maybe I have a good excuse for not caring about them and treating them like *****s but I did not turn to that yet and maybe this helped me. That and being extremely handsome.

Interesting experience eh? When was the last time that happend? Especially in the Zona. Must have been a blue moon. I was due for a good experience. I'm glad it came now. My heart can't take another rodeo.

Hey Friends,

This is a late report, yet I haven't seen this hotel mentioned on the board, so I think it may be helpful.

After lurking on the board for several months, I headed down to TJ about 6 weeks ago. The border info is accurate on the site, so I won't add to it.

My new find is the Hotel Nelson. It is right under the big arch on Revolucion. Cost is about 37 a night and they do want 7 to bring a honey up to the room, however the rooms are clean and the hotel is safe.

If your a bit shy about it, as I was at first, it was quite easy to hang out in the little bar downstairs and quietly ask a few of the younger patrons about local girls. In no time I had three lined up and subsequently delivered to my door over the course of the evening.

Room 37, 3 chicas at 40 each and the 27 for the "take up" fee. All in all a nice way to get into the TJ scene.

Just got back from a fun trip to the Zona! Since it was Memorial weekend, I played it smart. Drove to Qualcomm to take the trolley to Ysidro to cross. Arrived around 5p and took a cab to Adelita's, sat shotgun, and paid $5. Walked to the alley. Lots of action. the Zona was busy. Looked liked martial law with all the policia iin the regalia and arms.

I walked (and scoped) the length of the alley then started to walk back the other direction. I spotted: Maricela de Vera Cruz in front of the market next the Hotel Eduardo. Crossed back with no hassle and took a trolley back to Qualcomm, bypassing any sobriety check points, even tho I didn't drink but who wants the hassle. Trolley ride back seemed like forever; especially the drive back to home base 2 hrs later.

Will be going back prolly in the next couple of weeks; plus making a trip to Rosarito with a group of friends mid-Aug so I'll be making it a point to go to the la zona.

Guadalajara is known as the Mexican City where the girls are lighter skinned and have lighter hair i.e. more European than "native" looking. Anecdotally, from my experience, this reputation does seem to have some validity.

Well the only problem with Guadalajara (or the State of Jalisco) is that the P4P action sucks (plus, it's tough for an outsider to meet non-pros in Mexico). Not to disagree, but I think it must be a YMMV situation with regard to all-nighters from AB or CC. At AB, I have asked probably 15 girls for all-nighters, and only two out of 15 even considered it. And even then, very reluctantly (like they didn't really want to do it, but they would if I met their price). In both cases, the price was $500. And in both cases, this was around 1-2 AM, and I also would have had to wake up and go to work that following morning. So, needless to say, I did NOT pay them that rate.

I have found it easier to get TLNs from AB girls if you spend time with them, get to know them first. I think they need to scope you out first, to know you will be okay to be with. The key for all nighters is having your own place close, speaking Spanish and having a good time with the girl in the bar dancing and drinking. Personality is a major plus. Some guys are just too serious, high pressure, all business and uptight. Freebies aren't that hard if someone is younger under 30, (I'm not) if you have danced and drank all night. KJ's First trip to Tijuana Mexico

DAY 1

I've been back for less than a week and I already booked my next trip, I had a great time. I am a regular visitor of Thailand, I go there twice a year. Everyone said "TJ is no Thailand". Sure but still a great time. I met up with a friend that is a TJ regular and he showed me where to go and where not to to, glad he did because I know there are places that can be dangerous at night.

The day I left I had to work until 11am, I had a 1pm (1300) flight out of Southwest to San Diego, at San Diego I took a short ride on city bus #992, and got off at the Trolley station. I took the Blue Line Trolley to the border. If you choose this option, get a transfer on the bus and it won't cost you any money on the trolley.

At the border I just followed the crowd across, it is that simple. I kept walking and went thru the turn-styles and I got a taxi to my hotel. I stayed at La Villa Zaragoza http://members.aol.com/hotellavilla/ and paid about US $40 a night. My hotel was about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) from Zona Norte.

By the time I got to my hotel, it was about 4pm (1600) and I was very tired from working all night and walking alot. I was supposed to meet my friend at 7pm (1900) at Adelitas, I decided to sleep a few hours before meeting up with him.

At about 6pm I couldn't sleep so I said "fuck it" and got something to eat at the hotel, Hotel Zaragoza has delicous food. After eating and before meeting up with my friend at 7:00pm, I took a Apcalis (generic Cialis) that I still had from my March trip to Thailand. Now I am all by myself but I felt like I knew the town fairly well. I walked to a market and looked around and finally found a Pharmacy, I drank so much beer from the night before I figure the Cialis wore off, I bought a Levitra and took half (10mg). I walked up Constution and I met a girl, forgot her name and she didn't speak much english, I asked to go with her and she shook her head yes. We went to a hotel across the street, we had to wait 10 minutes for a room, damm these guys last forever before cuming (haha). The taxi driver took me to the border, he asked me question that I didn't understand so I motioned him to take to the border and he bypassed alot of cars somehow got me there quick and safe so i gave him a $3 tip which he was happy about. I took the Trolley back to San Diego and a bus back to the airport. I flew Southwest so I had to take another bus (small red shuttle) from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. I was one of first ones on the Southwest plane and got a great seat in the exit row, it was comfortable, all the seats are leather.

I just booked my next trip in late July, should get me ready for my August trip to Thailand. When I booked my ticket on Southwest.com I was a little tipsy from beer and I accidentally clicked "Advance Purchase" instead of "Fun fare" . I called Southwest and told them what happened and they gave me a credit towards a future flight, I know I'll use it. Southwest is a great airline, if you don't use a ticket or if you miss a flight, they don't give you an anal fisting like every other big airline.

But here's where the logic breaks down, at least for a guy from East freakin' coast! The flaw is: Going to TJ "a lot" is prohibitively time consuming and expensive. Spending time with the girls is also not "free" or "easy" - after all, time is worth quite a bit, too. And that's not counting the time it takes to learn a second language!

So, if I fly to San Diego, rent hotels and cars, eat out, buy drinks for chicas, become fluent in Spanish, then I can get girls relatively cheaply and easily. That sounds too much like regular ol' dating to me (i.e., WORK)! I just can't spend hundreds of hours and thousands of travel dollars just so the TJ girls will feel more comfortable going back to my hotel with me for the night at a reasonable price.

Anyway, all your points were well-taken. Different situations apply to all mongers, so every location (like TJ) and every girl are going to fall under the YMMV category. I think my mileage in TJ just isn't nearly as good as some guys', while my mileage in other places is superb. I wont get into all the detail of the dialouge but as you can guess, he basically said I can pay him a fine or go to jail. Clearly this guy wasnt a real cop, but considering I was in a foreign country and dont speak the language and didnt know where my buddy was, I didnt see any other good alternative but to pay him. Needless to say that ruined what had already been a less then fabulous trip. I luckily still had some money left and got a decent lay back at AB afterwards, but it was a bit too little, too late at that point.

So be smart and careful out there. The hustle factor is as high as ever in TJ. Interesting also though that we saw a lot of cops out, more then I've ever seen there and they were arresting guys left and right. I'll be back but definitely with my head on straight and eyes wide open.

Warning to solo travellers:

I'd like to report new disturbing events. I've known TJ for a long time with no problems. I travel alone on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons, returning about 1 AM by taxi direct to the "linea Sentri".

However, 3 of the last 6 times, I have been stopped and searched by police who hang out there with a car. Each time my money has been returned minus an average US $50. I'm clean-cut, white with good spanish. It's no fun getting robbed by police just when you think you're home.

You might consider crossing where the yellow taxis are instead of at Sentri (leading to the crosswalk across traffic). Thiswould put you down the road from the police. By the way, thanks to all of you for your good and humorous information.

With regret, as I like being taken to the Sentri point, I second Conejito's concern and will follow his recommendation for at least a month. I had a plastic bag (containing nothing but a loaf of bread) searched right at Sentri about 5 trips ago. Nothing was stolen, but the police approach seemed unnecessary and inappropriate. Another time I saw others being handcuffed right there.

You can still take Taxi Libre, but instead of Sentri ask for "el lugar de Taxi Amarillo." Then just follow signs for the US. In sum, you will do 5-10 extra minutes walking, but it is safer and you might save 5 pesos as the cab ride is shorter.

Being that I was given bad reviews of Tijuana MPs, I decided to go the normal route and hit Zona Norte. I’m know Tijuana pretty good so I decided to drive into TJ and park in this corner parking lot on Ave. Revolucion near the Gigante and next to the Big Taco Stand on the corner (Approximately a block away from Club Peoples). If you want hotel accommodations near Zona Norte I recommend staying at Hotel Nelson, the place is not that bad and it’s close to the clubs and the zona (cost 37). For chow, I love TJ tacos and Hot Dogs with tocino (bacon) wrap. Don’t worry you will not get the runs, it is practically safe. I personally like a place call “Taco Bell” which is downhill on the street walking back to the border. You can get 3 tacos for $1 “a bargain”.

Now for the good stuff…Zona Norte. Indisputably, CC is hands down the best place to hook up with model type hotties. I did my usual round at ABs and although some of these girls are very beautiful…I’m skeptical about some of them that used to be boys (just not my thing). Is it possible to fuck the dancers in TJ strip clubs? Almost certainly, under the right circumstances. But the poster claimed that after paying $15 for the private dance, plus a $13 tip the dancer in question was willing to let him fuck her bareback. I find this incredible for several reasons, not the least of which is that the paltry sum involved is more appropriate to a zipless fuck with a street girl in the alley than it is to banging one of the dancers in an Avenida Revolucion strip club.

Moreover, the original post claimed his encounter began with 15 minutes of DATY. While in my experience some TJ strip club dancers are not adverse to letting the patrons eat them out, it just doesn't ring true that for a measly $13 tip the dancer would permit DATY for the equivalent of three songs. Granted, the cost of privados is quite negotiable and depending on the circumstances one can often do better than the $20 list price quoted. Last time I did it, a room at Adelita was $26 for the night. I'm sure it's still no more than $30. It's not a place to get much sleep, however, as the noise from downstairs goes on all night.

It's safe to stay there. The chicas don't charge for the room, the hotel does, and if you have already paid, then you've already paid. You can get multiple ladies there, no problem. TIJUANA ORGY NIGHTS

I'm a gringo staying TJ for 4 years. I moved to San Diego from San Francisco because of the high rents but then came here as the rents in SD became more like those in SF.

While living here, I studied spanish intensively in San Diego at Mesa City College for around 3 months (4 hours/day-5 days/wk). And it was a great deal as it was cheap and I learned a lot.

However, my spanish is still pretty shitty only because I'm around too many english speakers.

My observation on comparing ladies between USA cities and here is that they are more approachable here. I got a local girl for some years now but I visit "the zone" occasionally. Most of the colonias are full of females just walking around doing whatever. The US side, the opposite is often true. I've been driving around lost in SD or Southern California neighborhoods and needing directions from somebody without a sole in sight for 15 minutes for whatever reason - go figure... Here, everyone doesn't drive; many walk or use public transit. Also, there are many middle class areas and so too shopping malls.

To be honest though, I haven't tried to be the pickup artist in years. When I was a kid in 1984, I made a weekend trip to Alcapulco with a gringo friend who spoke ok spanish in which I scored three phone numbers in an hour from 3 separate groups of girls. Time permitted only meeting up with one of them in which I was able to get some hand holding and a few peck kisses in the following few hours using my limited spanish with my buddy tagging along.

Generally, the only reliable, clean, safe, place in TJ these days is Adelita's, and if you are coming in from out of town, don't bother trying to reinvent the wheel. Unfortunately, the other bars are uniformly dead or full of skanks these days, altho you can always uncover an isolated jewel. Those of us who are in TJ every week cruise the other bars once in a while, and we can never figure out why the other bars don't attract the hot chicas, so go figure. There are several nearby bars that are actually nicer than Adelita's, but nowhere near the number of hotties. No doubt someone will disagree and claim they met the hottest, nicest girl in the world in one of the other bars, but this is the exception.

Your best bet, especially if you have limited time, is to go straight to Adelita's. As a matter of fact, you can even stay in the Hotel above Adelita's for about $35. It is fairly clean but basic, and potentially noisy, but you pay $11 just to use the room for a half hour anyway, so it may be worth it to just pay the TLN rate. That way you won't have the mozo banging on the door after 30 (or 20!) minutes, and if the girl likes you she may hang out for awhile without the pressure to leave after 30 minutes.

I'll reiterate what Chuponalgas just stated. I've been an old TJ boy for decades now and it's just not the same. I'm not sure if the economy in Tj has improved so much that not as many quality girls are needing to work or what, but the quality and quantity has decreased significantly. Just returned. Left san fran on 6;30 flight to SD. Picked up rent car from Advantage rent a car. I don't know about you guys but I have decided to take taxi libre instead of those yellow cabs. Trip report from Saturday 07/24/04

While waiting for my trip to Brazil in late August, i decided to head on down south. Traffic from L.A. really sucked. I didn't see any accidents but it took me almost three hours, where it normaly takes two, to get there.

I went back down into the Tropical bar and saw another chica that looked pretty good. Unfortunately she sat with the guy for over an hour and a half. Not sure why some of these locals don't just take the chica upstairs with them. With all the drinks they buy it must come out to more than what it would cost to go upstairs, or at least as much.

I went upstairs and got some of my money back. The hotel guy gave me $10 dollars back saying there was a b/s administration fee. So I lost out on $2.00, no big loss. I then headed to Chicago.

Now this was the Chicago I remember from years ago. It was crowded (sro), I couldn't even get a seat at the bar. There was a fair share of hotties in the place. Usually I like the smaller bars because I can get better gfe there. Sometimes I get mechanical sex in Chicago and Adelitas. But for eye candy, these are the places to go.

Again I forgot the chicas name but she was very pretty and grew up in Tj, and spoke decent English. Her big natural chi-chi's were a plus also. We settled on $50 and upstairs we went. A few years back TJ was awsome lots of young attractive women to choose from. I've read several recent posts which, describe the gals at AB CC ect as hot. I was in TJ this weekend too, and did notice that there was a fair amount of activity during the day. Thankfully I didn’t have to get in line to get a room. I think that I have logical explanation; Ronald Regan is back. Yes folks, the USS Gipper is in port in San Diego, and all of its Seamen are blowing off about a year worth’s of semen. I bet the milk men had to earn their pay mopping up the deck after the men from the USS R&R got done.

On a more serious note, next weekend there will be elections. This means “ley Seca” or Dry Law will be in effect, so there will be no alcohol. I’m not sure if this will only be for the day of elections, or the entire weekend. Maybe someone else can shed some light. But be warned that this means bars will be probably be closed. I don’t think that the SW action will be affected.

I always wondered why there are always 30 to 40 guys(not locals) standing outside AB wheareas CC doesn't have as many. I know AB has bigger crowd but... Are they all waiting for their friends to finish their 'work' upstaires or just standing there to enjoy watching chicas' ass as they go upstaires with guys. Well, this past Saturday there was a huge traffic in TJ. I saw cops rerouting traffic and also saw some young local girls in school uniform. Seemed like there was some sort of parade in TJ ?
Anyways, I picked this girl named Yipsel at AB. First sat at a table for a little talk. I never imagined that the Spanish class I took back in college was going to pay off in TJ. Some have moved to AB, CC and smaller clubs. Others are on vacation. The construction in the alley doesn't help butt, there are still a lot of cuties. A lot depends on what day and time you pass by. There are ATM's everywhere in TJ. I feel better and safer using banks like Bancomer or Banamex, you'll find them all over TJ. I'm not sure which ones, but some of the banks are owned by US banks (which can help if you ever have an ATM problem, which I haven't yet). I'd rather use the banks than small ATM's in convenience stores (like AM/PM at Revolution and 7th).

Regarding Mexican Elections and Dry Law:

Please note that I’m not telling anyone not to go to TJ. I’m just trying to share what little I know so that those that are interested in visiting TJ this weekend can further research this issue. My hope was that someone who had all of the information would shed some light on the matter. Anyone who is planning on visiting TJ this weekend can probably find out by calling the consulate, embassy, or ministry of tourism. I hope that if someone does, that they please post the details. I don’t know if bars and clubs are able to open during the “Ley Seca” (dry law) day or days. However, it would be logical to assume this. What I do know is that the Mexican government wants a sober electorate to vote, so they ban the sale of alcoholic beverages during elections. The irony is that given the restrictions, most Mexican citizens that like to drink will stock up, and drink a lot more than if there were no dry law. As always, the more you tell people what they can’t do, the more they want to do it.

The elections are August 1. Everyone should be pulling for Jorge Hank the PRI candidate and hope that TJ can return to its former glory, out from under the oppression of the right wing Panistas. They have shut down a number of massage parlors and local hang outs just like they did in DF. They are also behind the ban on sex in table dance clubs etc. and closing down clubs in Guaymas etc.

Anyway, enough political banter, I live in Baja and I have to say TJ is dead to me. I have checked out the massage parlors and the zona and frankly I haven't seen anything that i would pay to sleep with in many, many months. IMHO Ensenada is no better. The P4P action in TJ and Ensenada is not worth the trip. I have been forced to chase after the local "normal" girls, still *****s, but much more expensive, and wait for my next trip to Colombia, Argentina or some other worth while location.

I read all of these reports about the "hot" girls that these guys supposedly hook up with in TJ and I have to question what is their opinion of hot. I only have one friend that still frequents TJ, but I know that he's a pig fucker. To each their own but for me I would rather save the money to go on a trip than fuck the nasty things that I have seen in TJ recently.

Just one thing to add about the Mexicoach ATM: It dispensed US currency. If you're looking for another ATM that dispenses dollars then try the lobby of the Rio Rita Hotel. Its a couple of blocks north of the Mexicoach station on Revolution. I can't remember the cross streets but I do remember it was a couple of doors down from Club Beverly Hills.

Don't know where you've been going in TJ but I've been to TJ 5 times this year & taken up 8+ hotties everytime & I consider myself pretty damn picky. Somtimes you need to be more patient until they arrive but they are there. Its been about 2 months since I was there last but I can't imagine it went that downhill since.

Couple of questions though. Do you need to exchange dollars for Mexican money? or can you use dollars?

I'll provide as much info as I can on the AlleyKat 17 post. I actually think the quality is getting much better so I'm having some trouble understanding the chat on quality. JH: There are still plenty of girls in TJ, it's just that us old guys remember when it was much better, and the really good lking ones we have seen for years, so they bore us, but will be new to you. There is nowhere else near TJ worth going to. EVERYBODY in TJ takes US dollars.

There is very little GFE going on in TJ. You can hire a girl for the whole night if you want to pay a lot ($200-300), but you are unlikely to get any serious affection, etc. The whole emphasis in TJ is on the half hour quickie, and the girls almost ALL think like that, unlike many girls in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Rio, etc. You would think they would be grateful to go out to dinner, etc., rather than stand on a corner or in a club all night, but they just don't think like that in general.

The main thing you have to remember as a newbie to TJ is there are really only two good clubs, Adelitas and Chicago Club, and one good street girl area, the "alley" which is behind Adelitas. Read the TJ FAQ and DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, let a taxi driver or street hustler steer you to other clubs, massage parlors, etc.

THE STREET SCENE IN ZONA NORTE

Just got back from my first trip to TJ. I read thru many posts to get a good feel for the scene.

It is better to be safe than sorry, but I think some of you are over paranoid with your precautions. I have been to Dominican rep, Brazil, and Costa Rica, and Mexico did not feel unsafe to me at all.

I stayed in TJ for almost a week. If you go during the day YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE A CAB. Absolutely Uneccessary!

HOW TO WALK TO ZONA NORTE:

It is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the border to Zona Norte. As you cross over look for a 120' tall silver metal arch (like a miniature version of the famous arch in st. louis. All you have to do is walk toward it and when you get to it you are only 1 block from zona norte (or 2 blocks from adelitas). This is how I get there; Once you walk thru the 1st turnstyle into Mexico you will walk another 150' between two 10' high cement walls on both sides of you painted to look nice. At the end you will then walk thru a small check point that is where the mexican border patrol guy can stop you if u look suspicious if he isn't too busy sitting on his butt doing nothing. As soon as you walk thru this check point you then can walk straight ahead to a turnstyle (where most of the cabs are) or you can go to the right where there is another turnstyle that takes you toward the street. Either direction is safe and well populated with vendors and taxis. Walk thru the turnstyle to the right side and cross the street. After you cross the street, turn to the left and walk one block (you'll pass some pharmacies on your right side). Then turn to the right (where most of the turists are going) and walk thru a big open paved walk way full of vendors. It looks like a street for ppl instead of cars. You will pass many stores with vendors trying to get your attn. on both sides of you, just ignore them and walk straight to the end(less then the lenght of a football field). When you get to the end you will see a small set of stairs straight ahead of you slightly to the right side. Walk up them and then follow the ramp up the walkway to the top and then back down to the other side. This is a continuation of the vendor are. It is well populated and once again full of vendors selling stuff. As soon as u finish walking down the ramp and get to the other side you will see the 120' tall silver arch directly ahead of you. Just walk toward it by walking ahead another 200' of vendors and crossing the street. After you cross the street (Revolution Ave) u will continue walking the SAME direction straight (don't turn left or right). You will see lots of mariachi guys with their instruments hanging out. These guys are all musicians looking for work. This is where local ppl often drive buy to contract them for gigs and they seem to be there 7 days a week.-again it is well populated and safe! Continue walking on the street straight ahead so that the opp. side of the street (your left side) u r walking on has old stone/brick archs. Halfway down this street you will start to see the prostitutes on both sides of the street. Again, it is well populated and safe! When u reach the very next intersection (Constitution Ave.) turn right and walk to the end of the block. Now you are standing on a corner less 50' from adelitas. Just turn left and cross the street and continue walking straight and Adelitas will be on your left side 30' down. If you want to spend the night in TJ which I did for 5 days straight, then Instead of crossing the street on your left side just continue straight across the street, walk straight ahead and you will see Chicago club on your right side and then 2 doors past it you will see Hotel Leyva. The staff there spoke decent english. I stayed there for $25/night(w/ tv) or ($20. w/o tv). There were 2 local channels from San diego that were enough to keep me busy if I felt like watching tv. Don't worry about AC-it gets cool at night (65 F degrees) Showers weren't that great, but it had hot water and it was good enough for me. They have secured parking with a security guard also! I kept my rental car there the whole time. The doors of the hotel were good and not easy to jimmy open if u r worried about that and you can take an arms length stick and wedge it in the window so it can't be pried open. This is what many of the local ppl who stayed there did, it didnt seem neccessary, but what the heck. This is not one of the hotels that is rented by the hour and many of the girls seem to live there. It is a great location cause u r only a 1/2 block from most of the action and u can walk out your door any time of day or night and feel safe! I often had my door wide open to let all the cool air in during the day when i was in the room. I felt completely safe. I did always keep my camera and phone locked in my car trunk just in case. I had no problem bringing women to my room and did so several times a day :)

On the corner:
There are usually 4 or 5 of guys that try to get u to come to the massage parlors so they get a commission. They all seemed to be nice guys (these guys r not thieves-this is there job along with sometimes trying to sell u some viagra or marijuana) They can be annoying and no matter how many times u say "no" they will keep asking u every time u walk by.

Police:
There is a constant presence of them and I felt it was for the best cause they kept things safer. The police station is located perfectly to look at the alley where most of the street girls are(i call them hotel girls cause the hotels own them) The police are after ppl who have drugs, ppl who are selling drugs, drunk/rowdy ppl, or criminals. One time I walked near the police and mentioned the word drugs and they must have heard me cause 5 minutes later they were checking my pockets. I had plenty of money on me and they didnt seem to care and gave it back to me. They asked if I knew this person or that person and I said "no". ALWAYS DISSASSOCIATE YOURSELF FROM OTHERS cause if u say u know this guy or that guy and he has something on him you will be busted.

I did have a pretty big mexican guy who was totally drunk off his ass stagger up to me one time and ask me for 5 pesos. I kind of ignored him even though he was standing right in front of me and he gave me a little push with his fist to get my attention. I felt unsure what to do at that moment and was tensing up in case he took a swing. I felt like knocking him to the ground which would have only involved me blowing on him but I walked away which is the best advice I can give because if you get in any kind of fight u will go to JAIL no matter who is right or wrong!

You just have to be safe and use common sense! The police were all nice to me and I was nice to them. If you act like a jerk they will put you in your place, but if you are just there for women and you don't get drunk you should have no problem as I didnt.

MASSAGE:
The massage parlors suck-the women there r no better looking then the girls on the street. they charge $40. for 30 min massage and then u negotiate the extras. My girl gave me a lousy massage for 10 minutes and was ready for the extras part very quickly. If u want a decent massage (no extras), go to aztec massage. It is $20/ 40 minutes w/ 1 girl or $30/ 40 minutes w/ 2 girls. Decent massage. You don't pick the girls, they rotate them so they each work the same number of customers-there is no sex here-just a decent massage. To find it-just go to the spot where the mariachis were and walk up revolution ave. from 1st ave to 2nd or 3rd ave. Look at the very top of the building on the corner on your right side of the street and in blue/grey you will see AZTEC MASSAGE written on the top of the building. The entrance is a small door on the side of the building and u go up 2 flights of stairs.

STREET GIRLS: (Hotel Girls)

There r plenty of girls out both day & night (I saw more day time girls out than I have seen anywhere else before!). They work in shifts and most of them r owned by the hotels they stand in front of.

A lot of these girls get hired from places like Veracruz and are bought under contracts by the hotel through the girls themselves, their parents, or mob? They have to pay off the hotel whatever they owe or whatever deal they worked out before they have any freedom to get out of their contract with them so if they dont bring enough ppl in to the hotel they'll be there for a very long time! These girls are there to generate money for the hotel. These hotels do not generate their revenue by having ppl rent rooms for the night, they generate it by getting a fee every time someone uses their room to have sex. The hotel gets 4-5 dollars from you directly and the girls has to pay the hotel 5 dollars of the 20 you give her until she pays off everything she owes. (A few girls I spoke to told me similar stories)

I try to get them to come to my hotel so I can take them out of their comfort zone and I can get more for my money. Most girls will not go anywhere but their hotel because they are either afraid of u, or they think they will get tattled on by a jealous girl, or the hotel will see them leave, or the police may rat them out if they know the hotel owner. You will always see these girls standing in basically the same spot. They charge $20 plus 4-5 dollars for the hotel room and this is for only 15 minutes so if u need more time pay up front so u dont get interupted w/ a knock at the door. All of the girls charged the same amount and there is no negotitating below this rate. Of the 20. they charge for 15 minutes, 5 of it goes to the hotel and the girl keeps 15 so she wont go lower cause it comes out of her end, not the hotels.

I am a young decent looking guy, but these girls r on the clock and they r watching the time no matter who u r. I got many girls to come back to the room by paying them a little more (it depends on the girl-but money talks!) Once they r at the room I would put the tv on and try to lesson the tension about the time issue and it usually helped. I also had my small video camera with me :) and every girl i brought to my room eventually gave in to letting me use it. I know that wouldnt of worked if I was in their hotel in their comfort zone.

There are also a few girls that walk around the streets-these girls are just local (not owned by the hotels) and you can take them to your hotel or where ever u please. There are also a few guys pimping a few young girls. I had 2 different guys try to sell me on the same young 14 year old, but she was just a little to young for me and I felt bad for her cause she would just stand off to the side while the guy would try to strike a deal, she was too shy'/embarrassed to say anything or get involved in the bartering.

CLUBS:

I didnt go to the clubs that much cause there were girls cute enough for me on the streets and at least you could get a good look at them versus in the club where it was too dark. Don't get me wrong, there were some model types in there, but I got my fill out on the streets. I prefer the bargain hunting. Adelitas was always full of women day or night.

Next time I will test the bargaining of these ladies in the clubs and see if they r willing to go back to my room versus only going upstairs to the attched hotel. (which owns many of them) I like to take the women to MY room.

I did run into one of the girls from the Miami Bar that I met the previous night, but did not spend any money on her other than a beer. She was hot. I spent most of the day walking around with her as she led me from store to store. She was holding my hand tight like I was her boyfriend or something and she had me hold her wallet in my pocket for her. We went to several stores and bought food & groceries for both her and me, but SHE PAID FOR EVERYTHING. I will have to look her up next time I am in TJ

Thanks Chuponalgas. I do look forward to exploring TJ for the first time. I have had opprotunties to travel to Mexico City and Germany and Amsterdam. And I highly recommend those locations. Although in Mexico City I did run into a problem where I was drugged in a small strip club and when I woke up all my money was gone and some guy was saying I still owed him more. He wanted my PIN number on my credit card so he could get even more out of me. I was only semi counscious but knew enough to just take my credit card and get the hell out of there. I was smart enough to only have a limited amount of cash on me so I did limit my loses. I've chaucked it up to experience. It was a lesson learned to never get far off the beaten path.This was a while ago before I knew about this board. I wish I had this kind of help then.

I know I can handle the Taxi drivers and hopefully the local LE. The excitement and anticipation of exploring a new destination can be almost as much fun as the act itself. Thanks again for the tips!

Yes, this can be had but you have to look in the smaller bars.

Or lower your standards(in terms of girls' looks) in AB or CC. Or get extremely lucky. Or the girl really likes you.

If you want a "hottie central" type (8-9 in looks) expect to pay much more than this for an all nighter at AB or CC.

TJ is nowhere near as dangerous as Mexico City, or South Central Los Angeles, for that matter. We post warnings here because many guys go to TJ who have never been out of the country and they have no clue, but if you have overseas experience you know better.

The best TJ hotel close to the action is the Hotel Nelson, VERY BASIC but clean, right by the big metal arch. 2 blocks from the action, $35-45 a night, charges a few bucks more if you bring a chica in.

If you want an adventure, you can just stay in the hotel above either Adelitas or Chicago Club for about $35-40. You will pay $11 to take a girl up there for 30 minutes anyway, so for $35 more it is kind of fun to just stay there. The rooms are RELATIVELY clean and have tv's and bathrooms but are basic and noisy. You get to watch, and hear, the girls come and go all night with their clients. Also, you will have much better luck getting one of the club girls to stay all night, or at least an hour or two, if you are staying there, as the club girls are NOT supposed to leave the club hotel. Everything in the clubs is geared towards getting you up to the room for 30 minutes and then get you out ASAP, but if you have a room there, things get a little more relaxed.

The club girls want $50-60 for 30 minutes, there is no set price for longer, as very few guys stay longer. The club does not get a share of this, the girls can theoretically set their own prices, but the girls are pretty set on those prices in the clubs, as the other girls will beat up anyone who gives discounts.

If you want a first class U.S. style hotel in TJ, you could try the Pueblo Amigo, which is a 5 minute $5 cab ride from the Zona, and costs about $100-120 a night:

There are several hotels on the USA side within stumbling distance of the border, so you don't have to drive. The best is the Travelodge in San Ysidro, California, which is a 5 minute stumble from the border exit gate, about $60 a night:

There is also little motel just a few steps from the gate, called the Gateway Motel, but it is pretty dank, worth it to walk the two blocks to the Travelodge. There are all the usual fast food restaurants right there too. The border area is called San Ysidro, NOT San Diego, SD is a half hour north of the border.

You can't go wrong with any of these suggestions, be safe and have a good time.

None of the SGs are 'owned' by a hotel. The SGs *will* negotiate price, if you watch the locals going up to them to talk, that is what they are talking about, and the SGs will often go to the hotel for 100 pesos, not $20. None of the SG fee goes directly to the hotel, what the hotel gets is that you pay the hotel the $3 or $5 for use of the room for short time, and that's why the SG is so hesitant to go to another hotel, if they don't generate enough room uses at their hotel, they may lose their spot.

The SGs are recruited by young men who do that for a living. Actually, its not just a living, its a way of life.

I have to agree with Frijole. I am in TJ at least twice a week on business or otherwise, and being the eternal optimist I often check the clubs with my undying hope that there will be a resurgance of the hay day of TJ when all the clubs had hot women and the struggle was to decide which one you wanted to go up with.
