Second Night - Second Hand Hustle
After Carolina made off with my 10cuc, I decided to call Sayondra over.
Sayondra calls me every single day to see if I'm in Cuba or not. Even when I lend my phone to friends who go to Cuba, they end up answering a call from her at some point.

I told her that this life had made her hard and cold. She told me not to say that and that she loved me.
In the end, I told her to delete my number.
Third Night - Risk Free Investment
I spent most of the third day showing gringos around Old Havana.
We had dinner at El Ajibe and I translated to Mary El Jeffe's desire to get her a green card. I have to admit, when you've been with Cuban girls, your mind tries to convince you that it's more than business...
On the third night, I wasn't in the mood for any surprises. So I called my favorite over for some hot, predictable sex. Dyanna came over and delivered a strong finish to an odd trip.
Trip Summary
I take a lot of guys to Cuba. In the airport, most of them say they'll be back as soon as they can. a few have actually cried. While Cuba is filled with petty treachery, the quality of women and the sheer level of sexual passion in them warrants return.

Private houses with pool in Havana have a price between 300 CUC
and 400 CUC per night and your booking require the payment of 1
night in advance.
The rate today is:
1 Euro = 1.25 CUC.
1 USD = 0.81 CUC
CUC = peso cubano convertible = official currency in Cuba.
Our accommodation for rent is totally private and safe. It has a
chef, refrigerator, air conditioning in the rooms, hot/cold water
shower bathroom. Towels and sheets are changed daily. You will
also have a cleaning service every other day or according to your
preferences.
We have houses with 2, 3 or 4 rooms and the max number of
persons to stay in a casa particular is 4 adults. That reads the
Renting Law in Cuba.
All houses have parking area and man guard 24 hours a day.

I have had several good anal experiences around Cuba, all you need is some patience, lube and being able to speak spanish. In most cases they will be anal virgins, in cuba anal is still a big taboo.

I get a lot of emails about Cuba travel from guys interested in going to Havana. While almost all of them are sincere, only a portion ever make the trip. But I love turning people onto Havana.
Clitherall emailed me in April or May about a trip to Havana in October. I told him to hit me up closer to. So he followed up in August. We confirmed and were able to book flights and housing. I was impressed with the work and research he put into arranging a nice weekend for he and his friends.
Clitherall and his friends arrived a few hours earlier than me from Cancun and checked into their house. I arrived later that night via San Jose.
It's nice to go to a place where everybody knows your name.
Upon arrival, I went over to casa Pakita to meet up with the guys. I was greeted by Clitherall and a guy we'll call the Greek.
We tried to hit La Cecelia, but it's only a weekend spot. So we made our way to Salon Rojo. There was plenty of talent and we began an extensive interview process. Clitherall was able to find a suitable companion while the Greek and I did a few laps in search of his entertainment for the night.
We happened upon a petit blonde from Las Tunas with a smoking body. She wanted 100cuc and wouldn't budge from her position at first. So we did a few laps. In the process, I ran into quite a few ladies I was aquainted with that insisted I take them. I woke up on the second day and walked over to the guys house. We hung out by the pool for a while and Clitherall asked me to make some calls and have some talent delivered. Everyone was able to either find what they were looking for, or decide to pass on the night. I still find it strange hanging out with non-mongers at a mongering venue.
I had decided on a blonde with a cute body. We worked out terms and we were all off in our separate taxis.
Once my girl arrived, she came in and instead of following me to the bedroom, she took a seat on the living room sofa. It's not the strangest thing I've seen Cuban girls do, so I took a seat next to her and put my arm around her. She removed my arm and asked to be paid first. My internal alarms started to go off, but I decided I'd let it play out and see if I could salvage this one.
I explained that I had no problem paying her, but only after our agreement was concluded. I took her hand and tried to lead her to the bedroom, she stood fast and insisted I pay her immediately. Again, I tried to appease her, but I began to sense that she wanted the money, AND she wanted to leave.
I tried to lean over and kiss her, and she put her hand over my mouth. Saying she didn't like this work and she wasn't going to stay. Essentially throwing cold water on any chances of me getting lucky tonight.
Then came the words that almost made me laugh. "Give me my money so I can go". Shocked, I asked her point blank "You do know why I brought you here, don't you"? I explained to her that until I'd fucked her, it was MY money. An idea I had written off.
She then said she would take the issue up with the owner of the casa. As she got up, I blocked the way into the hall. She said something I didn't understand and stormed out of my apartment. Slamming the doors on the way out.
Once she had gone, I picked up my phone and called another girl over. It was 3am at this point, so I realized if I was to get laid tonight, I'd better hurry.
Yamila answered and came over withing 30 minutes. While I was waiting for her to arrive, I noticed the blonde had left her cell phone on the coffee table. I figured she'd come back the next day to claim it. I was wrong.

What first went through my head was what the fuck she was doing there, how these broads connected me to this house. Then I wanted to know why security had given them entrance. As I had just woken up and not had my coffee yet, I was in no mood to have a diplomatic conversation.
Apparently, Yamila never gave her the phone the night before. Cell phones are expensive and hard to come by in Cuba, I'm assuming Yamila couldn't part with the I'll gotten gain and didn't turn it over. Leaving her to believe that I still had it.
Considering all the bullshit she tried to pull the night before, the idea of wasting my time chasing this issue down was at best unappealing to me. That the house had allowed her to come in and wake everyone up with her fucking drama really started to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) me off.
I grabbed the house lady and pulled her aside. I explained to her that part of why people pay so much for this house was that they keep the riff-raff out of the house so the guests that I'd referred to them could relax. That if these crazy broads had any business to discuss, it was with me and my casa. Not this one. "But she said XYZ", she responded. I then suggested since these girls were clearly more important than we were, perhaps she should have them pay the tab for the weekend and they could stay. And I could look for a more peaceful house for my friends to stay at.
At some point, the guys left to lunch, I left to my house and the girls followed shortly afterward. At my casa, they came upon less sympathetic ears. After hearing the ruckus, I came down and suggested they either call the police, or get lost. And that if they were still there in five minutes, I would call the police. They said a few things and stormed off.
I think the blonde must have taken lessons from an American stripper.
I can't apologize enough to Clitherall and the guys for letting this crap disrupt what was a pretty good start to the weekend.

After a nap, I decided I wanted to call the girl Jetzun had last month. I'd ran into her the night before at Cecilia and taken her number.

I had to leave for the airport in an hour and I hadn't even packed yet.

Took some time reading through the posts on the Havana forum and looking forward to a stint with a friend in early Jan. We are going to Miramar through a friends friend who organises it all, villa, cook & company.
This being our first trip we wanted to get some basic info:
- In case our source does not come up with the company quality we are used to (you never know), what is the hunting ground like, is it a fairly open scene? Is there anything near Miramar? I am impressed by the quality seen on this site!
- Important: What is the going rate? I have seen some nice pictures, give a an approx range for all nighters, different class. I want to be generous but I do not want to be ripped off either. USD still well liked?
- What is the legal situation, is this something that can turn sour, anything I need to worry about (being cought etc)?
- What is the degree of English they speak approx, do they make good company in addition to the obvious?

its my beleiving that there where are americans are comming the prices are sky high. everywhere the americans are welcomed because they spend a lot what makes places like bangkok, manilla, ho chi minh way too expensive for this 52yo guy to monger. you don't beleive me? well, look at ixtapa in mexico (200$ for a poor room without windows-crowded with us folks) and just 50$ for a better with seaview in acapulco (just locals too see).
i planned to go to cube before the border gets open for the dollar-visitors and everything gets expensive but i am too late it seems.
yeah. italian spend a lot. but most of the times on fancy clothes and fancy cars. venice got expensive by foreighn tourists, just go 50km from the tourist spots and you have a nice hotel against much lower prices then i see now in cuba.
us folks stay maybe better in the us. atlantic city is nice and booked on time its much cheaper then cuba. you safe a flight and food is also much more affordable (at buffets). what you save you can put in a lap dance club.

BGYou should be fine either way. If your guide has connections, then it will make things much easier and help you avoid mistakes. But even if you went alone, you'd still do ok at very least. Havana is a target rich environment.

You may be right about other places, but you are wrong about Cuba. The Americans there are a TINY minority of visitors. They did not f&*k up the market. It was the Europeans and Canadians (who make up probably 90% of the tourists to Cuba) and yes, the WORST of them are the Italians over the years. They used to fly in by the PLANE LOAD for nothing more than mongering. And yes, they overpaid for the ugliest ones (and still do).
By the way, the black Cuban men thoroughly enjoy the Dutch women who come looking for the pinga negra :) Es asi hermano...

Cash is King in Cuba and American credit cards will not be accepted anywhere.All USD will have to be converted to Cuban Convertible pesos at airports or Hotels.The current rate is $100 = 80 Cuc.You will need at least $200 per day to live on and that does NOT include a Rent a Car. I highly reccomend that you rent a car if you stay in Miramar which is a beautiful place by the way.
Girls will not approach you unless you are in a semi secluded area like a bar/house/restaurant.They dont want Police to spot them speaking to tourists.The Cuban women can be slick so observe them carefully until you feel comfortable but never let your guard down.They usually start out with the following questions: Where you from ? You staying in Casa or Hotel ? Is this your first vacation to Cuba ?
Cuban days are long and hot.Theres not much to do except for the sightseeing, beach, gym,ect.The girls hit the streets around 9pm.
The average cost now for pussy is $35 -$50 for 2 hours.I think an all nighter will run between $65 to $100 depending on the girls attractivness.

Hi Gang,
This was my third trip to Cuba and third trip to Cojimar. I have had mixed success in Cuba, but felt this time all the ducks were in a row. I travelled with a buddy and his last trip had him stay at a great Casa. Cojimar is a town of approx. 20,000. It is 10 km to a great beach area, (away from Havana) and only 5 km out of Havana. With a friend acting as driver we had transport to and from the beach, Havana central and the airport for approx. 100 cuc for the week.
There are about 70 -80 homes with rooms for rent in this town. Several of the homes are a daily stop for girls that dress very well and visit after breakfast and before noon. My host would say the only two words of English he needed to say, "You like?".
A positive response meant the girls would stop coming. A negative meant they kept coming until I agreed to a girl. Then I would pile into the Taxi and head to the beach.
My hostess was a great cook and a 6:00pm dinner awaited after a day on the sand and in the water. By 9:00pm the gal would visit and we would drink rum, watch a movie and retire to my room for the night.
Sex was passionate and vigorous. AT 6:00am my host would tap on the bedroom door, my girl would get up and leave with a kiss on the cheek.
If I wanted her to return that night I would indicate to my host.
I experienced 5 different girls in 7 days.
This routine was excellent, but don't think a first time visitor will dovetail into this. Some houses don't encourage girls and are upset when a gal visits.
The nice thing about Cojimar is the fact it is a sleepy little suburb. Not a lot of cops, so the gals tend to be a little more relaxed. They still are worried about being seen with you on the street as this is a big problem with officials, but once in the comfort of your adopted home, the tension melts away and you have an evening with a passionate, beautiful girl. Average price was 60 cuc for the evening.

To get arrested in Cuba as a tourist, you'd need to either have drugs, or some guy's head in your hands. I've been over 40 times and have seen a lot. Not once have I seen a tourist arrested. Not to say it's never happened, just it's very rare.
You should be fine. You have a guide, and you have a wealth of info from this board and others available.

We where just 7 nites in Uptown and downtown Havana (Vadedo, Vieja, Centre) and 1 nite in Havansa Playa de Este (eg Guanabo), me and my Dutch wife of my age (52). So I dis what I always did in Pattaya, hot chicks looking. In Thailand and Philippines you need (or should I say you can. To see something moer excitement then all those long Jeans) to go in the clubs to have some excitement like jumping miniskirts and sexy bellies en deep clevages, but wow, NOT in Havana.
The best place to sit/walk at the day and evening would be arround Central Park/The Capitolio. Thats the boundarry between Vieja and Centre Havana. A lot of hotels (regretfully always with a disco on the top so you cannot sleep between 11 pm and 3 am), vissitting sites, and a lot of young sexy girls with miniskirts and other tiny peaces of clothes walking arround. At nite not much to do but to go to the (in my view dull) hotel discos or the National Cabaret.
The best place to sit/walk at the evening and nite would be Vadedo at the seaside of La Rampa (calle 23) where a lot of niteclub/discos are present. At day not so much to do but from 6 pm the streets (I think only Friday/saterday) getting filled with verry hot dressed but young things and later on the evening the older. Close to that place the seaside boulevard is filled with all kinds op groups (friends or families) during the evening/nite drinking rum and making or listening streetmusic.
What me supprised was the possitive lookes to me from also the younger once (when my wife was a few meters from me) so indeed contact potentials but those contacts are indeed impossible to work out because everywhere those young cops are standing.
Complete other storrie is if you just walk a short street from the main drags in Vieja and Centre Havana. A lot of looks and a lot of pottential for the lonely western man. The streets and houses are there still not improved and what you see is (including the cothes of the girls) not so impressive but the looks those sensual havana chicks give a western man are heavenly. Sometimes you will see there even impropper dressed girls (way to short miniskirt or way too small tops). They don't have much money to buy the best cloths. So don't spread too much dollars there to keep watching fun for married men you single Matchos.
As a start I would mention the roads paralel to Obispo (a little more away from the sea, thats Havana Vieja) and Avenida Italia (centre Havana).
You could say that I have no experience, but you should me see if I had the change (like I had in SE Asia like 2 girls per nite together) and thats why my wife will never let me go allone.
Final remark. I realy don't understand why someone would lose money in Havana. When you jump in the taxi an helper with a mobile cals the price to you and to the taxidriver. At the bars pay after every order directly and you have no misunderstandings. And finally, on the streets be clear to ask the price BEFORE you walk with someone and nothing happens-also in the backstreets. I was made affraid by al I read but I can say you the next.
The Havana People are the most relaxed, lauching and most sensual people I saw on the world. There is however so much different between one and the other girl. The first lookes like a thick negro (big humps, nice with a clevage and humping minsiskirt like on the back (arse) of a duck), the other verry skinny and tall with legs like from a giraffe (verry nice with a miniskirt) and the third like a hot Spanish girl, all sensual and with coller settings between black and white. Thats not what you will see in your life in Thailand.
So a had a lot of streetwatching fun. To be honest much more fun then I had when I was alone or with my wife in Thailand.
Negative points? I realy don't understand why the hotels staffs are so rude.
How better the hotel how worse the staff. So I can Imagine to aim at Casa Particulira if you want to have pleasure at all. And Also a good niterest (while most 4-5 stars have discos at the top).
At Playa de Este I had no fun, the best hotel is only all included bookable by internet with the worst food we ever had (3 starr Atlantico beach) and guards like sovjets. A lot of families in front of the Tropicoco resort (just 2* and even more worst what I red in LP). Walking to Guanabo along the beach I saw a lot of Gay men having fun, so a hint for those happy readers.
In Guanabo LP advices Piza La Mar but after having 10 yo beercans and a small dirty piza on stone chears I would advise to stay away.
BTW. You can go to Tropicoco/Atlantico for just 3$ with the Luxury T3 aircon Havanatour bus opposite Hotel Inglaterra on Parque Central in Havanna between about 9am and 5 pm about every 1/2 hour. ANd if you don't like it there you can take the next bus back because you may travel whole day in that bus for just one ticket! (and hop out and in on all points inbetween like the fortificantions oppsosite havana) Happy hunting you lucky singles.

i felt bad about cancelling out on infanticide in august, so i made sure i was able to go with him this trip to havana. we booked our flights and casa in havana and met here in costa rica with great optimism for our coming trip.
my guy tony from casaparticular.org sold his share in the company and i was left to figure things out for myself. i booked our reservations on two different sites to be sure of having a reservation when we arrived.
sure enough, we arrived to our first casa to the most popular excuse in havana. the water wasn't working and we would not be able to stay there. we called to our secondary casa to find them waiting for us. so we went there.
casa bertha in miramar was a nice sized house with ample space and amenities. we settled in, unpacked, and hit johnny's disco on the miramar/vedado border.
the talent at johnny's was adequate for a small club and soon enough, infanticide and i had suitable choices and were headed to the casa.
first night: deal-breaker.
once we had arrived at our casa with our romantic interests, we went to our separate rooms to fulfill our respective desires. once in our room, my girl asked to be paid first. i explained that i'd be happy to pay her once our agreement was concluded, but not until then. she explained that she had no guarantee i would pay her once we were finished. i explained to her that i had no guarantee she would provide the agreed upon services. my experience led me to believe she wouldn't
she said "then i need to go". i said ok. she then insisted i pay her for her taxi and for her time and entry fee to johnny's. i explained that i wasn't asking her to leave and a severance package wasn't appropriate. that since she was leaving, she'd need to wait outside for her taxi too bad, she had a great body and i was eager to explore it
first night: second try.
as soon as my failed romantic interest left, i called my taxi driver back and went right back to johnny's to pull another girl. i arrived to find a little less talent than had been there earlier. i grabbed a girl that seemed to have a nice body and looked pretty in the reduced lighting provided by the disco setting.
i don't remember her name, but while she still looked ok, she didn't look quite as appealing in full lighting. but she did provide adequate service and had a great attitude.

on the second day, infanticide and i went out to get some beverages to stock the fridge. once we returned, the casa owner explained that the water had suddenly broken and she had found us suitable housing across the street. she walked me over to show me a place about half the size of our current casa, but for the same price. after talking it over with infanticide, we decided we'd go along, as we had few suitable alternatives on short notice.
once we packed and carried our luggage to the new place, we started unpacking and settling into our new digs. as i was putting my toiletries and such into my new bathroom, bertha's husband walked into my bedroom and stated that while he and his wife were at our new house, his newborn baby was unattended and that i needed to pay him for the night we stayed. i told him to take care of his baby and either one of he or his wife could wait a few minutes in the living room while we settled in and once we did, infanticide and i could settle our tab. or, we could walk across the street and settle up once we were done in a few minutes. i'm not sure why he thought infanticide or i were unwilling to pay him 70cuc, or why he felt the need to leave a newborn alone to attend to the matter, but he became hostile and took an aggressive posture. at some point, i told him if he was in a hurry, he should go home and i could bring over his money in 5 or 10 minutes, or we could fight instead. but he couldn't have both.
he left, the new casa owner asked us to leave, and we were again a victim of cuba's faulty plumbing
second night: checking into the bates motel.
my taxi driver geni had told me he could find suitable housing for us closer to nuevo vedado, so i called him and told him i'd give him a shot. he took us to a casa that on first glance, seemed ok. it wasn't as nice as the first house, but it would do.
we met the owners, the lady was a professor of something at the univ of havana, the husband, a retiree who spoke decent english. so we decided they seemed nice enough and we'd give it a shot. there were flags that we didn't see at first, but that we'd be seeing all too often during the course of our stay.
first, once we agreed we'd stay, i said "well, we should give you some money and get some keys from you". the lady then said she didn't issue keys, that we would ring the doorbell when we needed entry. i explained that we'd be going out late and didn't want to disturb anyone when we returned. she then nodded no. i told her that we couldn't stay at a place we couldn't come and go freely from, she relented and handed me a set of keys to share with infanticide. infanticide and i had a laugh at the creepiness of it and got dressed to go out.
second night: movie star
once we were settled in to our casa and had grabbed a bite to eat, we headed over to my favorite disco in the entire world, la cecelia. when we arrived, we found an empty parking lot and a closed gate. so we went to casa de la musica in miramar.
casa de la musica was going strong and was full of exceptional talent on this night. infanticide and i walked a lap and were treated like rock stars. we came upon ani from his previous trip/report and she was looking quite lovely. i began to chat her up, thinking i might take her, when i laid my eyes on an exquisite creature.
marie was just arriving and was scanning the room, like any good hawk. i stopped what i was doing and began talking with her. i invited her over to our table (that still had ani sitting at it). ani left and marie sat down. we worked out terms to 70cuc for 2 pops. infanticide managed to get similar terms and we were in search of a taxi.
as we arrived at the casa, i opened the door to find the old man standing 5 feet from the door staring directly at it. as he was quite old and had had a stroke the year prior, he wasn't very mobile. which left me to wonder how long he'd been standing there with that manson gaze. he took the girls carnets and we were back to the bedrooms for the festivities.
marie asked for the money up front, to which i offered her a taxi. i showed her the cash and put it back in my pocket. explaining that at a restaurant, you pay after you eat. she relented and got undressed.
i was taking a little longer getting my first leche than maria cared for, so she said i could do her without the bag, but for only one pop.
off went the condom and i enjoyed marie's honey pot for a little while longer before pulling out and painting a map of hawaii on her stomach.

once at the casa, yayi showed me an extraordinary time. yayi provided an affectionate and uncovered experience.

unfortunately, the proprietors of the establishment had other plans for our evening. once the festivities had begun, there was a knock at the door, immediately followed by an attempt to open the door. i yelled "occupado", then old man bates headed down the hall to try the same shit with infanticide. the entire time, we could hear the creepy fucker wandering the hallways.
once i had given yayi a map of hawaii of her own, she went to take a shower, only to have old man bates open the door on her. while i can appreciate wanting to peep a little, his intentions were not sexual in nature. just trying to be creepy
i walked yayi out and apologized. as i was walking back in, old man bates was standing in the hallway. he asked if i had the keys, i said yes. he asked "may i have them"? i said "you may not". i went into my room and began to pack for my early flight in a few hours.
while i was packing, i heard a commotion down the hall. i went out to see what was going on. apparently, while infanticide was walking his girl out, old man bates had entered his bedroom and began going through his belongings. which could be considered a huge party foul
at some point, we decided we had had enough of the nut-house and called my friend geni (who had referred us to this casa) to wake his ass up and come get us.
we went to the café la rampa in the habana libre hotel to have breakfast and wait a couple hours before it was time to go to the airport and go home
how do you explain to your friend with limited cuba experience that this is a freak occurrence and not something that happens often in cuba? we went home to a somewhat boring, but predictable costa rica

Cuba is the most unpredictable place Ive ever been.Things never seem to go as planned especially with those freakin casa owners.Its even worse in Cienfuegos.The women are too business orientated now in Cuba.Its going downhill fast.

Just got back from my annual trek to Havana. First night, saturday, my guide and I passed by Salon Rojo at about 10:30, it was dead so I decided to pass. He recommended La Cecilia,crazy 25 cuc cover, we passed by and saw a long line of great talent waiting to get in. I saw a beautiful early 20ish blonde paying her cover. I jumped on that quick, in about 2 hours we were back at the casa. Her body naked was so much better looking then dressed, I know it is usually the other way around. Amazing ass and tits. I told her that if she did not oblige that I had no problem dumping her ass in Pinar del Rio, she quickly performed pretty good. The hotel has a disco where all the locals go, absolutely no tourists. This enviorment forces most newbies to the Clubs where your exposed only to professional prostitutes who are all business.They want to fuck you fast and get back to club for the evenings second customer.These girls are real slick so negotiate price and terms before you bring them back to the casa.
My advice is throw private parties in your casa in the evening.
Invite as many girls as possible - just buy Beer Rum and Cigarettes.
I also suggest NOT staying in the tourist areas such as Vedado, Centro, Habana Vieja and even most of Miramar as they are heavily patrolled by uniformed and undercover police. I stay outside of the city. There are very few police there and Cubans are much more prone to interact with you. Of course, this needs a car to get around with adding to your already expensive time in Cuba. Cuba is NOT cheap.....I repeat...Cuba is NOT cheap.
Here's another hint. Almost all the university girls have internet access these days, especially the ones from ICU. There are a few good sites to meet them on. Make contact and set up meetings with them in safe haven areas. I have had very good luck in the past doing this :) Of course, you'll need to speak Spanish relatively well in order to communicate with them.

After last month's trip to Havana with Infanticide, I figured Havana owed me a nice, leisurely weekend. I was right.

OK, for the record and for your information I just thought I'd post an update about this matter.
So here it is: EL CUBANITO never paid as promised. I never expected him to and I will now take other measures. His M.O. was always to place payment off to next week. And then when questioned, would always give the "ah man, something came up" story.
As you can all confirm from his posting record, he has not posted since early October 2009. I stongly suspect he is operating on this board under another name. I caution all of you, be careful in regard to sharing costs on trips to Cuba with anyone on this board. But if you must, try to speak to other members that may have had contact with the potential "trip buddy" to confirm his sincerity.
I have met some great guys on here and consider them friends and trustworthy. But there are some sharks in these waters.

Look, again if what you say is true, then you have every right to retaliate. But to what avail? I went to Cuba about a month ago. I was with my girlfriend so didn't play around but just reporting on some alternative things to do in Havana.
The National Aquarium of Cuba is now open. To get in, admission is free, only to watch the outdoor show. If you want to watch the other show from inside the restaurant they charge locals $5.00 and for tourist $7.00. This is more or less a deposit for the food as they deduct this amout from the bill. The food is actually decent.
Also some restaurant recommendation, since most of the time the food down there is pretty bland.

Again, average price was $6.00 This place was kinda close to El Ajibe the famous chicken restaurant. Maybe 5 - 10 minutes away.
Third. The asian restaurant located in the Hotel Melia Havana. Of couse my girl and her sister never had sushi so we went there. It's not a Japanese restaurant even though they had sushi. It was more like Asian fussion. The sushi was good, not on the same level as when I go to Japan or Brazil but good enough to put smiles on there faces.
The teriyaki was too sweet, but the tempura was very good. I can't remember what the price were but being in a hotel it was more expensive than the paladars. I believe the average was $11.00 per whatever dish we ordered. If it's different, sorry about that.
Finally, her brother in law took us to a jazz club called Tocororo. It's a small cozy club with great music with a live band. I believe they let people in at 18:30 and the show starts at 19:00. Very enjoyable relaxing atmosphere. I didn't see any single women or any girls hanging out so it might be better to take a date here instead of trying to pick one up here.

I went to Cuba about a month ago. I was with my girlfriend so didn't play around but just reporting on some alternative things to do in Havana.
The National Aquarium of Cuba is now open. To get in, admission is free, only to watch the outdoor show. If you want to watch the other show from inside the restaurant they charge locals $5. 00 and for tourist $7. 00. This is more or less a deposit for the food as they deduct this amout from the bill. The food is actually decent.
Also some restaurant recommendation, since most of the time the food down there is pretty bland.

You can usually get a discount, but not all that much. You can probably get down from 35cuc to 30cuc per night.
Do not expect to get an address of a real gem here. A really cheap casa where you can bring home as many chics as you want is really hard to find. And everybody wants it to be free on his return. Further prostitution is illegal in Cuba. If you post an address on a board like this the casa owner has to bribe the officials. One who has to pay the officials cant rent it out cheap anymore. So hardly anybody here would provide you with a good address.
If you do speak Spanish, you should be able find a good independent casa for 20-25 CUC a day. If you tell them you'll stay a month most of them will give you a discount and many casas even replace booked clients, who have to go to a friends house then (rather a bit less a day for a month than a bit more for ten days only). You don't have to live at La Rampa to have fun. There are some great independent casas a few hundred yards away. Just walk around, look for the first door with a blue rental sign and knock. If they do not have what you want ask them for their neighbors who rent out and go on like this. And do not hesitate to say no. You'll be surprised what gems you can find this way.
Just don't fall for tourist traps:
- Do not book over the Internet (at least not longer than the first 1-2 nights until you found something better) There are hardly any online casas below 30 CUC a day. If you go knocking once you are there it's much cheaper (if it's free)
- If you let a "friend" from the street help you to find a casa you'll pay 5 CUC more a day (will be passed on to the "friend")
- Avoid casas like Berthas. They can ask any price they want as people stand in line there because everybody on every board is providing its address.
But anyways. Good luck and have a great time!
This trip, after a double booking for our casa of choice, a friend and I were referred to a mansion in Siboney. We got a decent deal on the place 200cuc per night for the house. Which had 5 giant bedrooms in two seperate wings. A drive through Siboney tells a tale of past splendor and decaying decadence.
While I was very impressed with the houses in Siboney, it's not exactly central to anything in Havana. Siboney sits about 15 minutes out of the main part of Havana and requires a pre-arranged taxi, as it's primarily a residential area, albeit a substantially affluent residential area.
If you're not on a budget and want a kick ass place to hang your hat while in Havana, Siboney is the place to be. But you'll need to either rent a car, or have some type of transportation arranged.

First Night - Delivery Service
We arrived on the evening flight from San Jose and got through customs as easy as can be expected. As we were leaving the airport, a few calls were made to arrange entertainment to arrive shortly after we did.
Once we arrived at the house, a quick inspection put to rest any doubt as to the quality of the accomodations. Our chicas arrived and they too were pleased with the place.
I called over Yayi from prior trips because of her exceptional enthusiasm. She came over with a change of clothes and a biking as requested and pleased me thoroughly. I am thinking about going to havana in early feb. I have been to varadero resort style this would be my first trip to havana casa style. I really do not have the writing style flavor shown by Jonesie but I will try my best to report on a first, solo, trip to paradise. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Cuba is still the paradise when you think how much money we spend here in a year on useless goods and services, as opposed to how much you can get there for much less than that.
My first day in Cuba.
I landed around 5pm, cleared the customs without a glitch only to find a double booked private house that I reserved over the internet (never again). After 30 minutes they found another house for me to stay at for the next 5 days. I was tired and had nowhere else to go that rainy night so I accepted the workaround. I got myself situated quickly and thanks to 2 small but strong coffee cups I was back online after one hour.
I was told from the beginning by the owner that no company is allowed and to be honest with you I was not expecting any that night so I went along. I then went out for a walk as the rain had stopped and I ended at hotel Inglattera internet cafe (slow connection do not use it. I lost few hours waiting for a computer then for web pages and chat). Exiting the hotel a young, 21 years old, semi-pro looking for customers attached herself to me. We ended up in a room close to Little China for only $50. The next 2 hours I received my welcome gift from a real Cuban woman in ways I never thought before. Enthusiastic, good looking and clean she went on and on to please me. As I was tired it took me awhile to get in the mood and that prompted a funny episode. She asked me first if I took the pill to keep it going, and as I denied she then asked me if I am Cuban (I speak Spanish). I thought that was I compliment and finally opened the flood gates. I took her name and number, paid the money plus gave her a small perfume bottle as a gift for her willingness to work with me. I had purchased few perfumes and other small things as gifts to have before I left. I strolled back to my room happy and ready to rest.
Second day:
That morning after I eat breakfast at the house on the balcony I took my list of addresses and started hunting for a friendlier place to stay in a quieter neighborhood. Centro Habana near hotel Deauville. Is close to most action but quite noisy at night and during the day. It took one visit to the first house on the list to find someone willing to spend 2 hours to find what I wanted. A large one bedroom apartment, with bathroom, kitchen and separate entry, in Vedado, for 30 CUC per night. The rooms were quiet, clean, large, modern by Cuban standards, and I took it for 10 days. The best deal I made after the girl at the hotel the night before.
The next 9 days:
From here it went on easier by the day as I was able to secure company, between 19 to 22, every night for prices between $40 and $70 (I paid one time that much for an all night with a super model with a good heart and talent in bed and I do not regret it a moment). It all boils down to Salon Rojo near hotel Nacional, disco Cecilia, Macumba and the one at the top of hotel Havana Libre, outside hotel Havana Libre, in front of Copelia in La Rampa near the cinema (watch it. Lots of gay Cubans asking for action there), University of Havana, and plain walking the streets in Habana Vieja, Centro Habana and Vedado. I never thought I will last to have action every night for ten days without getting hurt, but these ladies have something magic that takes the pain away and makes one feel 20 again. I spent time hunting for the ones that interested me in particular and never regret a moment as I did not experience any problems with them or with the house owner. The owner warned me to be careful as some use sleeping pills to rob the tourists, but it never happened and I never saw any attempt. In the street there is police but it seems that they are not that strict anymore as I was able to walk to my house several times right past them with a lady without any issues. I caught a very cold period in Cuba with only 3 sunny day and temperatures between 40 at night and never over 70 during the day, with strong winds. Maybe that was my luck as it kept the girls indoors. In conclusion I had fun and I am grateful to Jonesie for encouraging me and giving some good advice.
Go there and have fun as they need you now more than ever.

I'm planning my brother's bachelor party, and we thought of Havana, Cuba (via Cancun) as our destination.
We've done Costa Rica, Thailand, Brazil, Argentina, Europe etc. So Cuba sounds great!
Just want to get people's opinions on where we should stay (hotels or apartments), current going market price for girls (we hate to do what alot of "gringos" do and pay extortionate prices, cause then all us mongers will be screwed!), best places to pick up girls (I hear the local university is great!) etc.
I see there is nothing too recent, so was hoping others might be able to jump in and help.
We're planning the trip at the end of July for 4-5nts.

If you plan on "raising hell" celebrating - Cuba is probably not the best place to have the bachelor party.
Been traveling to Havana for over 8 years now and Ive learned to keep a very low profile when vacationing there.You definatley do not want to attract alot attention because the girls and the casa owners will want nothing to do with you.
I reccomend that you try and rent a private house outside of Havana maybe in Miramar which is probably the nicest city in Cuba but also one of the most expensive.Its only 15 minutes from downtown Havana.The house will probably run about $250 a day and you will also need a rental car which is appx $130 per day.

Some other observations:
Most cuban prostitutes have attitude problems today. Remember its strickly business. They don't want to be entertained and have fun like in the old days.
The summer weather can be brutal. 95 degrees with extreme humidity.
Cuba is not cheap. Expect to spend minimum $200 per day. That includes a regular casa style apartment room, pussy, food and taxi. A rentacar is an additional $125 per day. My airline tickets cost appx $850 total. I'm from New York and usually fly thru Cancun also.
Cubana airlines has a very poor On Time performance rating. So coordinate your "RETURN TRIP" home with a 2.3 hour layover in Cancun and purchase ticket insurance. Mexicana also flies out of Cancun.
American credit cards will not be accepted anywhere.
Free Advice:
Anyone on this board who communicates with members outside of this site should be careful. One particular individual who requests to be "PM" d a lot should be avoided at all costs. He has been banned from other sites for unscrupulous behavior with members who met up with him in Cuba.

I don't post my friend's casas or chicas numbers for good reasons. First, too many freaks with anonymous access to people I like. Be it casa owners or chicas, no accountability, no access.
Exhibit A:
A guy asked me for a really nice casa on the water for him and a couple of buddies. I put him in touch with this casa who I'd worked with before:

I let them know the price and the address. They checked in at night and were told they could wait until the morning to pay for their stay. The next day after breakfast, the owner asked if they could settle up, and they offered 40CUC per night, per room, after I had made a deal for 250CUC per night for the house (the house lists at 400cuc).
They paid 120cuc total and were asked to leave. Now, it's very difficult for me to book this house for anyone, as the experience left a bitter taste in my friend's mouth.
Exhibit B:
A guy asked me for a couple of numbers from some of my reports. I gave him the cell phone numbers of the girls he asked for.
No good deed goes unpunished, it seems.
The guy called ALL the numbers and asked all of them to come over. Girl after girl arrived. As they arrived, they were offered 30CUC for TLN (all night). When they declined, he wouldn't give them the 5CUC taxi fare they had just spent getting there.
I have MANY more stories like that.

I have relatives who live in Havana and I'm headed down for a week to visit them. I am not concerned about a place to stay, though an afternoon casa, or one for an evening is something I am interested. I would like to get as much information as I can get for a noob heading to Cuba for the first time.

I would have to agree with Jonesie. Earlier in the game, I would respond to PMs with casa and chicas particular info. Several bad reports from them on how they were treated stopped me. Now I just say where I found them and leave the rest up to the yuma unless I personnally know him.

I go to Cuba often and I have friends there that can be very helpful. I need my friends in Cuba to stay my friends. That means not giving their contact info to random crackpots who demand I post it on a public forum. If you're not comfortable with pm'ing me, I'm not comfortable giving out private info. After all, I know them, they know me, neither of us know you.
A couple examples: A guy asks to stay with a friend and I at what's now my favorite casa. An hour after being there, he asks if we'd like to smoke some pot. Trying to explain to him how very, very harshly Cuba punishes drugs, he shrugs and explains that he has a prescription, and not to worry.
Then there was the guy who liked getting drunk and beating up girls.
Like I said, most of you are nice. But if I don't know anything about you, you won't know anything about them.

ya.........I once let someone use the apartment that I use. The owner flipped as he was compromised and had to pay huge bribes to keep out of the shit.
Now, I will help people but would find it hard to give anyone the hard to get info that took years to mine.
I never had any problems with the police or any other problem in Cuba. I have developed a hassle free formula to evade police and also the hunt, chase and long interviews with chicas. I had a stogey run planned for this weekend, and a friend called me and added himself to the reservation. Then a guy from one of the boards hit me up and asked about tagging along. So it looks like we had an away team.
To lay out the story, my friend be went to Havana with me in September and fell in love with Mary from some past reports of mine and has been going back twice a month to dip her honey pot. The guy from the board is in the military and wanted some real R&R. I hope I didn't disappoint.

She stormed out and waited in the living room for her taxi. I took a shower and went to bed. Shortly afterward, she knocked on the door and said her taxi wasn't available and asked if she could sleep with me until the buses started running. I explained that if she got in bed with me, I wanted to fuck her again and I'd be happy to pay her the original agreement. To which she went back into the living room to wait.
All said and done, I would still say she was great in bed for the one pop I did receive.

Second Day. Campo Math
After receiving my guide fee of a cappuccino, I took S-Man on a tour of Old Havana. We walked down Obispo, along Mercaderes, and to Plaza Vieja and back. We were walking down the prado when I spotted this blonde spinner with a great rack. I approached her and she seemed uninterested. As we were continuing our walk, she waved me over to the sidewalk for further discussion.
When asked how much I would pay her, I suggested 30CUC. To which she countered with 25CUC. To which I agreed.
Lisa was from a small town near Cienfuegos. She led me to a shitty upstairs apartment with a ladder instead of stairs. The inside was literally all cardboard.
I would say Lisa was the best pull of the trip, and the price certainly added to her value.
In the end, I paid her 30CUC and she seemed pretty happy to get it.

Once S-Man and I got home, we took a much needed nap. Once we woke up, we went out to dinner and formulated a plan for the evening. I told S-Man I probably wouldn't be pulling that night and he insisted I would and that he would be paying for my girl. Now that's what I call a tip.
We hit Salon Rojo, which was dead. We did meet up with a couple of Americans and then went to La Cecelia.

After reading alot of reports it seems like the clubs are the only place to hook up.
Its unfortunate but too much negotiating effects performance but it has to be done in Cuba.

I have been invited to Cuba to film a short film project.
We have approval and permits from the arts council.

Me & my friends made a last min trip to Havana again on Feb 1. Although we had some good time, I had to admit the place is changing so quickly. I'm afraid that I may not go to Havana again but maybe other citieis. The reason is provide below but lets go for the good stuff first.
We flew to Varadero and took Viazul bus from there to Havana. We only paid 10 CUC each and then took another small viazul bus for 3 CUC each to our destianation. It seemed like the small viazul bus was out of service and they charged small amout and dropped us at our destination on the way to the garage / their home. Don't worry, as soon as you get off the bus, they will ask you or if you tell the bus driver, he will call them over. Not sure if they will be there all the time, otherwise you can negotiate a taxi and go to your destination. If the Viazul from Varadero has enough, they might drop you near your destination (if you give small change to driver). Our driver agreed but unfortunately the bus was already running late.
The highlight of our trip was a pig roast party arranged by one of the local friend. We went outside of Havana and booked a pig roast party in a farm house with swimming pool and some unsual animals in captive (like a zoo). Well, we had so much fun and we arranged it for a 2nd day too. The cost of the party was 140 CUC (including food, music & place) but alcohol / drinks was on us. We took 4 girls with us and there were about 15 or 20 girls came from local place. It was a party of life time. We whined with all the girls & had hell lot of a fun.
Our casa owner told us there are more inspection now a days than last year. Last time when we were there. Everything was relax but this time the casa owner was so afraid as he already had some inspection.
Girls. The girls are demanding more money now. Last year when we were there we never paid more than 30 CUC for short term and 50 CUC for long term. Now they are asking 50.60 CUC for short term or they are refusing to come. After some negotiation we paid 40 CUC for short term & 50 CUC for long term. Some of you think, we are crazy to pay that much. Otherwise our trip would have ended without any girls. Lots of girls were asking more than that but since we had to stick to our budget we only got the girls who agreed for that money. I guess the Havana market has been spoiled now. It's time to start looking some where else. Maybe other cities or othe countries.
FYI. Currently I don't have PM service. As I don't need it for now, I didn't activate it yet. I may activate is closer to my next trip.

I went to a wedding outside of Havana that sounds similiar to where you stayed. More than a dozen cubans jumped in the pool fully clothed. And everyone got soaked. I didn't mind, the salsa music and wiggling bottoms seem so appropriate at La Boda...
As a long standing member of the forum, I wanted to add some of my recent experiences in Havana. Spent a week there in December and went out every night but one. I stayed at the Hotel Nacional, which is an okay hotel by US standards. Like everything in Cuba, it is a hustle and the Hotel Nacional was no different. There was an extra charge on my bill upon check out, but they removed the charges without batting an eye. It was almost as if it was expected. (The charges were phone related). Also, when you change money downstairs, they count the money below the counter where you can't see, and tell you one of the bills is counterfeit. I don't know if that is a scam of theirs and they make a switch, but they tried it on me and someone else in my group. I used the bill elsewhere, so I didn't lose out. Just a warning should you be there.
First and second night there I went to Salon Roja, which is literally a stone's throw from the entrance to the hotel. It is 1/2 a block and can be see when you exit the hotel. Salon Roja is a club with live music and bands which can vary. One night was Salsa, another a type of country music, and a fusion band on a third night. The cover is 10 CUC, or about $13.00 USD. Once I stepped inside I was immediately surrounded by 5-6 women asking me if I wanted company, in both spanish and english. There were dozens and dozens of women (3-4 for every guy) and they were non-stop trying to get you to talk or buy them a Red Bull. My first night there I met a Jessica Simpson look alike in a very tight mini-dress. We danced for an hour first while she grinded her ass into me and I would periodically pull down her dress which would ride up and expose her thong. We struck a deal of 80 CUC (a bit much I agree, but Jessica Simpson!!) and we were off to a local house.
We exited the club separately as the police are stationed at the exit. In Hanvana, the police will stop any women who is leaving a club with a foreign man and ask her why she is with him. I witnessed them questioning one woman, and while my spanish is not that good (I'm not fluent, but can speak some), the questioning was direct and to the point. The avoid this, the girls will get in the cab of someone they know and you follow is a second one. A block or two later, you pull over and get into the first cab and off you go. My Jessica Simpson look-alike and I went to the home of an old Cuban woman between 70-80 y.o. She got out of bed, introduced herself, and left us to our own devices. We spent a good hour in there with no rushing and alot of time afterward to talk. "Jessica" was great and I repeated with her later that week.
The next night I met a young 20 y.o. named Deanna. I didn't know it at the time, but she was working the club with her sister Ana, who is 22 y.o. They looked like identical twins with the only difference being that Ana is several inches taller. I didn't know they were there together and kept confusing their names. Not only did they look alike, but they had on very similar black cocktail like dresses. Finally I saw them together and they each tried to get me to go with them individually. I said I wanted them together and they said okay for 100 cuc each. Having overpaid the night before, I took a pass and cruised around the night club. At around 3 am I saw them from across the club looking at me and leaning into one another discussing a strategy to approach me. Sure enough, they came over a few minutes later and offered me 80 cuc each. I countered with 60 cuc each and I get "dos leches" total, one with Ana and one with Deanna. They agreed and off we went to another house. First we stopped off at the hotel across the street where I went up to my room to get a couple of thongs I bought at Marshall's Dept Store for $4.00 each. I told them they could each have one if they were good. They did their best, but it was awkward for them because they were sisters. They did not interact with each other, but after the inital double bj it was Deanna while big sister watched. After a ten minute rest with their heads on my chest, it was now Ana's turn. Little sis (Deanna) took my head in her hands and gave me a DFK while I was furiously plowing her sister. Definitely a different sensation to kiss one woman while banging another. After 15 minutes I finished and then it became business-like for them. They automatically started to get dressed and helped me do the same. We all got back into the cab that brought us and they dropped me at my hotel. Big sis gave me her phone number and said with a smile "Let's get together tomorrow. Call me"
Inside the hotel, I collapsed on my bed and slept until noon time. What a night!!

The next night I decided to try something different. I went to La Ceciela on a Wednesday night, only to find it closed. My cab driver felt bad and took me instead to Casa de Musica. BTW - there are two Casa de Musica's. This was the one in Vedado, not Old Havana. This place had a cover of 10 cuc and a big, nine-member band that was awesome. They played salsa music and everyone was dancing. Of couse I was approached by many, many honeys (about 2 to1 girls to guys), and I told them I wanted to relax before deciding.
About an hour into the night I met a tall, African-Cuban. She made her pitch and I initially declined. I engaged her in conversation and found out she was a dance teacher. I offered her 10 cuc to give me a lesson, which she did! We found a section of the dance floor and she showed me some steps. Once I got the hand of it, we danced for a good 45 minutes. Afterward, I thanked her and we went our separate ways. A half-hour later we bumped into each other and talked again for a long time (45 minutes). This time I took her up on her offer and off we went. She was amazing!! I'm 6'1" and she must have been 5'11" with incredibly long legs. She told me to relax, had me lie on my back, hopped on top and rode me like a bronco in rodeo!! She kept eye-contact with me the whole time and smiled as I got closer and closer to exploding. Afterward a ten minute rest, we did it again with no additional negotiations. I gave her a generous tip (110 cuc total) and it was worth every bit. We went back to the club later and she introduced me to her friends. I told them there was no way I could go again, but that I would be back tomorrow night.
The next night I didn't go to Casa de Musica, but went back to Salon Roja. I hung out and saw something amusing. A couple of Italian guys took a couple of girls into the stalls in the restroom and banged them doggie-style. The door flew open on one and there we a chick I had been speaking to earlier in the night getting it from a young (24 y.o.) Italian guy. I was surprised and went to use the stall next to them when his buddy and a cuban chick come out with her fixing her dress and looking embarrassed. For a proper propina (tip) to the restroom attendant you can get a quickie.
Part Three to follow.
This time I made it to La Ceciela's and it was open. It is a large, outdoor, open-air club and was packed. The ratio was a little more even, but there were still more women overall than guys. I ran into Deanna from Salon Roja and the threesome, aka Little Sis, and we got to talking. Two beers and one Red Bull later we left together and had another night of fun. Deanna is a spinner and did exactly that. Picked her up and bounced her like a pogo stick while looking straight into her eyes. We both laughed hesterically. All for 80 cuc, but with "two leches" not just one. I was too tired to complete the second and stopped halfway through. I paid her anyway.
The next night it was back to Casa de Musica. I met up with a blond elementary school teacher who took me back to a really nice apartment/house that we had to ourselves. She played some music from her cell phone and did a very sexy striptease for a good ten minutes. Something about that put her in a really hot mood because we started going at it and she came twice before I did. She wanted to go again, but it was 4 am and I was spent for the week. Called a cab, said goodbye, and promised to see her tomorrow.

It's great to see a bunch of reports on the situation in Havana.
It's been five years since my last trip, but it sounds like nothing has changed. Law Enforcement at every corner. Playing the cat-and-mouse game with them. Casa owners paranoid about visitors.
All of the wrong things, but I'm willing to chance if for the right things, which are the beautiful Cuban ladies.
I may be there in a month or so, on business. Failing that, I'll be in Havana on my frequent flyer miles, within the next few months.
Always appreciate advice. Paricularly if I'm going and looking for a casa. I've been there, before but would appreciate advice (via PM, of course), on what the better and more loterant casas could be.

This was my third trip to Cuba and third trip to Cojimar. I have had mixed success in Cuba, but felt this time all the ducks were in a row. I travelled with a buddy and his last trip had him stay at a great Casa. Cojimar is a town of approx. 20,000. It is 10 km to a great beach area, (away from Havana) and only 5 km out of Havana. With a friend acting as driver we had transport to and from the beach, Havana central and the airport for approx. 100 cuc for the week.
There are about 70 -80 homes with rooms for rent in this town. Several of the homes are a daily stop for girls that dress very well and visit after breakfast and before noon. My host would say the only two words of English he needed to say, "You like?".
A positive response meant the girls would stop coming. A negative meant they kept coming until I agreed to a girl. Then I would pile into the Taxi and head to the beach.
My hostess was a great cook and a 6:00pm dinner awaited after a day on the sand and in the water. By 9:00pm the gal would visit and we would drink rum, watch a movie and retire to my room for the night.
Sex was passionate and vigorous. AT 6:00am my host would tap on the bedroom door, my girl would get up and leave with a kiss on the cheek.
If I wanted her to return that night I would indicate to my host.
I experienced 5 different girls in 7 days.
This routine was excellent, but don't think a first time visitor will dovetail into this. Some houses don't encourage girls and are upset when a gal visits.
The nice thing about Cojimar is the fact it is a sleepy little suburb. Not a lot of cops, so the gals tend to be a little more relaxed. They still are worried about being seen with you on the street as this is a big problem with officials, but once in the comfort of your adopted home, the tension melts away and you have an evening with a passionate, beautiful girl. Average price was 60 cuc for the evening.

Most Cubanas will negotiate especially now with tourism down.They are very skilled at spotting newbies and fools then proceeding to take them to the cleaners for every last $$.
The man must show confidence and be in controll - its a latin thing.

I stayed at the Hotel Nacional because it was part of a tour from the US. As a result, I didn't need a gateway or third country to fly there. We had an approved license from the US Treasury Dept and flew directly from Miami.
I might consider a casa next time and yes, Cuba really is set up for ST.

HAVANA TIMES, March 7 Without saying what it costs nor what it covers, the Cuban government announced it would obligate tourists to buy health insurance in order to visit the island.
The same measure applies for Cubans living abroad and returning home for visits and for foreigners living in the country.
The decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 16 and published ten days later in the Official Gazette.
According to the measure that takes effect on May 1, 2010, the government says medical insurance policies purchased abroad must be from insurance companies recognized in Cuba.
It also states that sales points will be established at points of entrance to the country for purchase from Cuban companies.

My first trip to Cuba!
I arrive into Havana (via Miami) on Saturday for a week long trip. I've read quite a bit of the threads, but would like to hear back from those who have some experience to share on what to expect.
Currency. Should I exchange for Cuban Dollars or Cuban Pesos?
Airport and customs. How long does it take to clear customs? What to bring, what not to bring? Is it much easier if I just carry-on, rather than check bags?
Clothing. What will the weather be like? Do I need to bring long-sleeve / sweater / jacket for the evening? What are the dress codes like for the various clubs? Are jeans okay, or slacks/collared shirt required?
Women. How much should I be looking to pay for short-term and for the night?
Nightclubs and bars. Where should I go? I've read about the Jessica Simpson look-a-like and other hotties, so which place(s) offers me the best choice? What time is the best to go out looking?
Casas. Which ones do you recommend? How much can I expect to pay, short-term and nightly? Where are the casas located?
Protection. Should I bring condoms with me or will the women carry some/or guide to place to purchase?
Sights. What else is must-see and do in Havana?
Anything else I m forgetting , please just let me know.

1) Only use Cuban Convertible pesos which can be obtained at all major hotels.
2) Usually it takes 1 hour to clear customs
3) Make sure all suitcases you check in when flyying "TO" Havana are heavily wrapped in plastic pallet wrap .This will help prevent baggage handlers from stealing.Usually there are independant guys in the airports in Bahamas ,Cancun ect that will perform this service for 3 dollars.Make sure all valubles, cash and electronics are in your carry on bag..
4) Definatley bring condoms - the condoms in Cuba are made in China and break easily.
5) Dress very low key - Older jeans,cargo shorts and tee shirts unless your there for business.No dockers and expensive shoes.Cubans can sum you up very quickly by your clothes .The object is to blend in with the people and not attract attention.
6) If your stay in Havana visit town of Miramar, Playa Del Este, Hemmingway Marina,and have a drink on the backyard patio at the National Hotel.

1) Only use Cuban Convertible pesos which can be obtained at all major hotels.
2) Usually it takes 1 hour to clear customs
3) Make sure all suitcases you check in when flyying "TO" Havana are heavily wrapped in plastic pallet wrap .This will help prevent baggage handlers from stealing.Usually there are independant guys in the airports in Bahamas ,Cancun ect that will perform this service for 3 dollars.Make sure all valubles, cash and electronics are in your carry on bag..
4) Definatley bring condoms - the condoms in Cuba are made in China and break easily.
5) Dress very low key - Older jeans,cargo shorts and tee shirts unless your there for business.No dockers and expensive shoes.Cubans can sum you up very quickly by your clothes .The object is to blend in with the people and not attract attention.
6) If your stay in Havana visit town of Miramar, Playa Del Este, Hemmingway Marina,and have a drink on the backyard patio at the National Hotel.

This is the trip that almost wasn't. Many things came in the way to complicate matters. 3 of the guys deciding to start their trip on the east side of the island instead of meeting the rest of us in Havana, a few guys flaking, a few guys cancelling, blah, blah I even tried cancelling, but some of the guys said they were going anyway, so I had to go.
Casa Drama.
We arrived Friday afternoon and made our way over to the house. Casa Gladys/Manolo is a great house. On the ocean in Miramar, nice rooms, great condition. Only problems is, they've turned the place into a monastery. Within an hour of being unpacked, my friend put on some board-shorts and headed out to the pool, only to be stopped in the living room and told he needed to "dress appropriately" while in the common areas. Then, as a girl I'd called over for a friend arrived, the casa owner's son told us she couldn't stay and neither could we. That's a first in Cuba.
So it was off to a standby casa. Casa Suzanna wasn't as nice as Casa Gladys, but it was fine for what we needed and half the price.
So I called the girl who'd been shown the door to come over and finish what had been started and all was well again.
First Night: Model Toss
Ardgneas called as we were getting tossed and asked if he could come over, I told him it might not be a great idea and to call back in a couple of hours. Once we were in the new house, I told him to meet us for dinner at Cocina Lilliam in Miramar, I'll spare you guys the food pics, but it's a great restaurant. We then headed over to Salon Rojo, as it had rained and La Cecelia would be closed.
We arrived at Salon Rojo a little early and watched the talent slowly trickle in. We eventually all had found suitable companions and headed to our casas. We gave one of the ladies taxi money and directions to our casa. My girl, who was stunning, told me she would take her own. I told her we'd already paid the other girl for the cab, but she insisted. First sign of trouble.
Back at the casa, my girl insisted I pay her taxista, so I gave him 5cuc to his objections, I explained that I wasn't his client and if he wanted more, he could take it up with his client. I've never found women who fuck as well as Cuban women do. Not Colombians, not Mexicans, Ticas, Nicas, etc, et al Cuban women hold the crown for carnal horsepower. It's also the reason I'll be going again soon, I hope some of you will join me.

I was in Havana, Playas del Este, close to Guanabo last December. Have you guys noticed how the chicas have stepped up their game? They are now checking into the hotels and paying for it themselves. They then solicit the tourists right there. Smart, VERY smart. By doing this they are not associated with any tourists therefore they can't get into "trouble". This gives them free reigh to "work" the hotel guests without Police interference. Great for us tourists cause there's no need to spend extra $$ on taxis, clubs, alcohol, and casas. Plus we have the added convenience of being in our own room and we can stay with them as long as we want and NOT have to pay off the security.
I found all this out by first hand experience. My second day there I got a knock at my door at 9:30 am. I opened the door to find 2 chicas standing there. They said that they were there to "see" me. I was half asleep, confused and obviously quite suspicious. I asked a few questions: "Who are u"? "What's your name"? "Why are you here to see me"? "What do you want"? "Who sent u"? Etc. If you have family in Cuba, you can apply for an OFAC licence. Barring that, no. Most people use other gateways, such as Cancun or Costa Rica.

well i head back to the usa today. a fun trip to say the least.
apologies to toby for not making it to lluvia de oro for a drink. i was previously committed to the tropicana show last night (we had reservations at la cocina de lilliam before the show). so getting to old havana and back out to miramar just could not work out.
as for the mongering it was a learning experience.
i was in the country on business and pleasure, but had only three real nights to get acclimated. night one was okay. the streets really roll up after dark--especially in old havana during the week. so i worked my way towards the nacional. at the capital, i was hit with several of the scammers and schemers trying to get me with a woman. making it out of there relatively unrep001hed i moved on to 23rd street. lots of people around, but very few in any of the bars--it was weird to see. i didn't want to pay the 10cuc to get into salon roja that night, so i struck up a conversation with two of the security guards at the nacional (vladimir and hermando) who eventually asked if i needed a chica for the night. they were helpful on a very slow night--it cost me one mojito. i didn't find anyone i was willing to pay for so it was a late night taxi particular ride back to miramar. cost me 6cuc and the driver, peter immediately used it to go buy gas.
i did a ton of walking during the day and met a very hot girl (non-pro) named lana (tall and very thin) and her english was not bad at all. got a her cell number and i managed spend a very nice day with her on wednesday. one thing that was nice was the access i had to suv with dip plates (black) and really could go just about anywhere without fear of being pulled over and harassed. so we had some fun making a trip out of the city proper and over to santa maria del rosario and playas del este.
thursday night was not good to be outside. it was raining off and on, so i eventually made to salon roja after checking a number of other options. the club was packed with italians and chicas. getting there late around 1:30, i decided to just take in all of the action and not go to a casa that night. most girls started the bidding at 100cuc, but went down to fifty. i was approached by dozens of girls. melonie, yani, leia, diana and carmen are some names i remember of girls that were decent. i left with two cell numbers--yani and diana.

THIA Warns All Visitors to Cuba of New Travel Insurance Requirements
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 15, 2010) - Effective May 1, 2010 Canadians visiting Cuba will be required to provide proof of travel health insurance that will provide coverage for medical services they may need while on the island.
According to a directive issued by the Government of Cuba, any foreign visitor who does not have a travel medical insurance policy from an insurer in their home country, may be required to buy coverage from Cuban companies upon arrival at any of that nation's sea or air ports. This requirement will apply to all tourists and other visitors; Cubans living abroad visiting family or friends; and foreigners temporarily living in Cuba. It will only exempt diplomats and representatives of accredited international organizations.
The government announcement states that "Upon demand after their arrival, travellers shall present a policy, insurance certificate or travelling assistance card valid for the time span they will stay in Cuba."
Martha Turnbull, president of the Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada (THIA) urges all Cuba-bound visitors to make sure they buy travel insurance at home when making their travel plans, and that they carry adequate proof of coverage. This can include a copy of the insurance policy booklet, the invoice or policy document or an emergency assistance card, to show Cuban authorities on their arrival if requested. "Most out-of-country travel policies issued in Canada that have full medical benefits should meet the Cuban requirements for coverage," says Ms. Turnbull.
Though Cuban insurance companies will be offering insurance policy options to foreign travellers who have not purchased coverage in their home countries, the coverage benefits are far lower than those provided by Canadian insurers and do not cover such essential elements as repatriation to a hospital at home, emergency evacuation to a mainland facility or travel of a family member to the patient's hospital bedside," says Ms. Turnbull.
Most Canadian policies provide at least $1 million in medical and repatriation benefits. The Cuban plans listed in the government announcement offer various benefit options ranging from approximately $7000 to $25000 for sickness or medical benefits. Some, but not all, offer a $7000 benefit for the return of deceased remains, or repatriation of patients requiring care in hospitals at home. An actual air repatriation to Canada can cost $25,000 (CAD) or more.

Update from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Cuban government announced in February that beginning May 1, 2010, foreigners and Cuban emigrants must carry a travel insurance policy with medical coverage in order to enter Cuba.
The Cuba Tourist Board in Canada has confirmed that no list of Cuban-approved travel insurers exists; every valid travel insurance policy qualifies.
The Cuban Embassy in Canada has also released more information on their official website.
Travellers arriving in Cuba shall have a travel insurance policy that covers medical expenses or a policy for medical expenses with coverage in Cuba. The insurance policy should be purchased in the travellers home country. Any valid travel insurance policy issued by an insurance company will be accepted in Cuba. Upon demand after their arrival all travellers shall present an insurance policy, certificate or travelling assistance card valid for the time they will stay in Cuba. Tourists who arrive without proper coverage will be required to purchase an appropriate policy from a Cuban insurance company at the airport, port or marina where they arrive.
In case of any medical emergency, the Cuban health system guarantees the necessary medical care through a network of clinics and hospitals, travel assistance services in Cuba are provided 24/7 by Asistur S.A.

Yes. You get one consumation for free (at least at the casa de la musica in Miramar). Just don't let the doorman take your entire entrance ticket. Half of it is the coupon. That's a common scam there.
And never pay the entrance of a Cuban citizen in CUC. They can pay in CUP (50 CUP instead of 10 CUC).
Cuba just gets harder and harder to have fun. Much better mongering destinations for sure.
But do have some good cubana friends, most non-pro. I am sure they will give a good time.

Mexicana will allow for coach class passengers to check-in for free 1 luggage, with maximum weight to be no more than 50 lbs (23 kgs). I can also tell you that Mexicana will allow a second luggage to be checked for $25 + tax, third for $100, fourth for $100, and fifth for $200. If the weight goes over the 50 lbs (23 kgs) for any of the checked luggage then they will charge $5 + tax per 1 kg (1 kg has roughly 2 lbs) between 24 kgs to 32 kgs. For luggage over 33 kgs but no more than 45 kgs there is a flat tax of $100 + tax. The maximum allowance for Mexicana is 5 pieces of luggage and the max weight allowed is 125 kgs / 276 lbs.

The Cuban government is broke. They have to get hard currency from somewhere. They have defaulted (yet again) on their foreign obligations and have unilaterally rescheduled terms and payments.
On top of that, Cuba is not cheap for tourists unless you want to live like a Cuban or go to an All Inclusive, there you can get all your drinks for free.

The problem is/was that alot of people go to Cuba for cheap medical tourism. They are apparently pretty good at rehabilitation treatment.
If you are going to worry about such mundane things, Cuba is not for you. It's like the old adage, "if you walk into the Mercedes dealership and ask about maintenance costs, you can't afford the car to begin with".
Cuba is not cheap nor is it stress-free. Cat and mouse games, repressive police, etc make it a huge pain in the ass. Yes, the rewards are there. If it wasn't for already established contacts over years of traveling there and speaking fairly fluent Spanish, I wouldn't even bother.

Laisla, I am not worried about mundane things. I do not even drink that much to begin with. I am just trying to clarify the situation as I am getting conflicting reports. Last time when I went there I paid the cover fee in CUC and also I paid for every drink I had. Some members here say that cubans pay the cover fee in pesos. I did not see that while entering the discos, and some of my contacts from Cuba laughed at me when I mentioned it. They told me that the CUP is good only to clean my a$$. At any disco in Havana for the late night performance everyone pays in CUC. There are matinees where the entrance fee is paid in CUP.

Why pay 8 a day when you know it'll be sold right there before you enter without some third party cronies involved? Havanatur books for ASISTUR and you can buy it for much cheaper right from them. It's not like Cuba is going to turn you away when you get there if you don't have insurance, ASISTUR will probably be selling it at their rate which is the 3.something a day one if you aren't 80 and partake in high risk activities.

State-run insurance provider Cubatur said kiosks selling health insurance have been established in international airports across Cuba. They accept U.S. or Canadian dollars, euros, British pounds and Swiss francs though all prices are set in Cuban convertible pesos, pegged at US$1.08.
A policy covering medical expenses up to 7,000 pesos, or $7,560, costs between 2 and 3 pesos ($2.16-$3.24) a day, depending on an array of factors.
Travellers 70 years or older or those planning to engage in high-risk activities will have to pay an unspecified additional premium.
Cuba has said it will accept state or private insurance from any country except the United States, given Washington's 48-year trade embargo.
Cubatur said all foreigners except diplomats and those who live here while working for oversees companies would be required to show proof of insurance.

Yea, me too. If you were there during that time (even up to mid-2002) it's almost impossible to describe. You can get point and click in a lot of places but in Cuba it was point and click "good girls", not putas.

First Night. Casa Shuffle
Blazers and I met in San Jose the night before the trip to hang and catch up. Blazers pulled, but I called it the night in anticipation of a busy day before the trip. We did most of what we needed to do and headed to the airport to meet up with Charlie.
We arrived and made our way through immigration and customs with the usual "why are you in Cuba" business. I wonder if anyone ever told them "I'm here to spy on your government and undermind the revolution". Otherwise, the line of questioning would seem meaningless to me.
We arrived the Casa Nenita more or less on time to find she was ocupado. She quickly found us other arrangements in the building, so we were able to get the festivities underway. Always an adventure.
First Night. Model Toss, the Sequel
We all headed out to Salon Rojo on this Thursday night. We were all able to find lovely companions for our naughty intentions.
I took a girl who's name escapes me. Back at the casa, she insisted on being paid first. I insisted I would pay her afterward. Back and forth until she said she was leaving. I said ok. Then she continued stating that she needed to be paid first. I said "I thought you were leaving". She got dressed and I walked her to the elevator. She asked me to accompany her downstairs to find a taxi, and I walked back into the apartment. Some of you would say that were rude, but I'm over being polite to this situation.

We arrived at the Habana Libre and were less than impressed with the state of this hotel. It resembled a very large rent by the hour place. With a little better view.
We met for dinner and decided to make the most of our evening. We met up at midnight and took a walk down La Rampa. As we reached Sofia's, I spotted this Mulatta with a ridiculous body who I insisted one of us were going to fuck. Blazers pussed out, so I decided I would have to take one for the team and fuck this girl.
We got into a taxi and headed to a casa a ways away. Decent for 15cuc. My agreement with my new friend was 40CUC. It was dark, and I only had my phone to take pictures, but this girls tits were what plastic surgeons are going for, and her performance is what porn directors hope to get.

As an aside I was just in Negril and a Jamaican who had Cuban in her (ironic huh) tells me "you make me happy I make you happy" over and over again. I stood my ground for 10 minutes. That I doubt as the system is ass backwards. People with shit to sell take advantage of their position as everyone has to come to them.
Now that the CA's can visit more frequently, lots of money will flood the island from relatives again.
The only non ass commodities that are cheap are rum, bullshit and street cigars. I would have said rice, but there is a shortage of that now.

I just came back from Cuba 2 weeks ago, my friends and I had an amazing time. There was an endless supply of delicious women, for as little as FREE-$20 PESOS. As well as other fun and fantastic things to do. You just have to know where to go and how to treat the people and great adventures will be yours for the taking.
As far as the FREE punanny action is concerned, it helps if you treat them very nicely and you don't look like you've been dragged face first along the bottom of the River Thames.
In closing my friend, just live and let live. Enjoy every moment you have while it lasts and stop living in the past. Because once the American government fully lifts the embargo and Americans are legally allowed to visit Cuba, that beautiful country will be used and abused and become a complete overpriced wasteland! There was also a nice local restaurant on the corner selling food for $1-$3 pesos per meal. There were no security lurking around trying to hit us up for a tip and the CHICAS DID NOT HAVE TO SIGN IN! We took the keys to the house in the daytime and we were left completely alone for our entire stay. The house was government owned and NOT a "casa particular". The chicas came and went FREELY and without hassle.
Now as far as paying the chicas are concerned, the price ranged from FREE-$20 pesos. Just like in the "western world", some "girls just want to have fun" and were NOT looking to get paid. The ones that were interested in the money either left it up to our own discretion or asked for $10, $15, or $20 pesos. Not expensive at all.

Taxis will run you about 20 per day x 14 days = 280 cuc
Food will run 15 cuc per day X 14 days = 210 cuc
Drinks wil run about 15 cuc per day x 14days = 210 cuc
Clubs = 100 cuc total
Airport depart fee = 25 cuc
Total = 1945 CUC
1945 cuc x 1.20 (exchange rate) = $ 2335 US
Airfare = $700
Total = $3035

ThanksNot insulted at all. I can understand your confusion/doubt. Allow me to answer your questions one by one.
1. We stayed in a 3 star resort and it was VERY nice. Staff were super friendly.
2. The food was good. The cuisine was not fantastic, but it was fresh and tasty.
3. Please understand, just like in every major city in this world, things will be more expensive in the heavily populated areas, like Havana. For example, a taxi in Honolulu will cost you double than in Cleveland. Suffice to say that taxis in Varadero and Havana will be more expensive than in Cienfuegos or Holguin. Also bear in mind that we were walking distance to the clubs, therefore we never took a taxi to go partying, and we DID take a taxi we were 3 guys splitting everything 3 ways. Make sense?
4. The people on ISG that are reporting Police harassment of the chicas are telling the truth. However, this is much more prevalent in the heavily populated areas like Havana and the "touristy" areas like Varadero. I was NOT in these areas and I only saw Police 3 times in 14 days. Of course this is not to say that there weren't undercover present. In all the time my friends and I were there we walked openly with chicas on our arms and NEVER had any problems. We ate in open air restaurants next to the main street in broad daylight with local girls, partied with them in the clubs and outdoor bars, took them to the hotel and they were not bothered by Police or anyone else. An amazing time was had by all!
The moral to the story is quite simple, keep away from Varadero and Havana. Go and explore other less populated areas of Cuba and you will have a fantastic time without spending tons of cash.

Please remember, in my report i stated that we were 3 guys sharing costs. Therefore, the taxis, drinks and the casas were not that expensive.
When i go to Cuba i usually travel with at least 1 wingman so expenses are usually split in 2. Havana is more expensive than other parts of Cuba. When i'm in Havana my budget goes like this:
$540 CUC (1 wk, single occupancy, all-inclusive including flights. Can sometimes cost as much as $700 CUC, but this is a current price)
$140 CUC (5 chicas, costs me $25-$30 per girl)
$120 CUC ($240 CUC for 7 days of taxis, divided by 2)
$100 CUC (casa particular, $20 CUC per room per day for 5 days)
$30 CUC (clubbing, clubs in Guanabo are cheap, $3-$5 CUC entry per night)
$50 CUC (i don't drink and i travel with a flask. I get the barman at the hotel to fill up my flask every night before going to the clubs. Staying at an all-inclusive has many benefits. So this doesn't cost me much)
$70 CUC (food and water for 7 days, we eat everyday at the all-inclusive hotel so again this doesn't cost us very much)
$40 CUC (maid, waitresses, bartenders)

Stay outside Havana city and you will party like a rockstar with a budget of welfare recipient. LOL.

It's already an overpriced wasteland for those who live there. And don't fool yourself, there is nothing that the big man in Cuba wants more than the embargo. Otherwise, what excuse can he possibly have for a failed system? Who can he blame? Try living like a Cuban for a while and you'll see things in a different light.
It's nice that you stayed in a 3 star resort. As a matter of priciple, I have never stayed in a hotel in Cuba let alone a resort. I believe that Cubans can now actually enter a hotel or resort in their own country? What a concept....
Cuba is a mysterious place. Cubans are a tough bunch of people who eat a lot of shit from alot of people just to survive. Even with many trips over many years, fluent Spanish, years of building relationships with people of all walks of life, and adjusting my mentality to try to understand their psyche, I don't claim to "know" Cuba or the mind of everyday Cubans.
Hopefully, for Cubans themselves, the "good old days" are yet to come. Lord knows they deserve better. It's not that I live in the past my friend, nor a bad attitude. It's just an observation of what I have seen over many years.

I love Canadians, don't get me wrong. I work with them all the time. Yes, they are VERY generous to the Cuban people. I was just amusing myself. Canadians almost always come on a package that includes a hotel for less than I can get just an airfare. No malice was intended.

Cuba is a third world country stop with over payng in Keny Mombasa in your hotel 20- 25 euro for all night in a beauty ful place with very cheap prices(I wet to Cuba almost 10 times when was a paradise from 1984 to 2002)now is off limits.

FYI,
Mexicans have a bad reputation in Cuba for being cheap and taking too many liberties. I was told that they think that Cuba is poor so they visit with their $100 to spend acting like they own the place.Never pay so much in a third world country in Madagascar or Kenya yo pay from 10 to 12 dollars a allnighter and she will give you the same gifts of a cuban lady and mas carino todavia yo conosco Cuba muy bien.
