Been to Cuba a couple of times this year. I was very unimpressed with Holguin. It is a much better scene in Santiago. There are so many available women there - I can't stop thinking about that place. The first time I was in Holguin I was there for 4 days at the end of a 2 week trip to Cuba. I had more trouble finding girls there than anywhere else I went in Cuba. The trip after that I flew in and out of Holguin but went to straight to Sangtiago. I had an overnight in Holguin before my flight back and I did meet a very hot 20 y. old - but after my previous experiences I considered that really lucky.

I surmise that you are not American n(Canadian?), so it's legal to go to Cuba and you should have no problem entering the US.

The problem is when you are a US citizen traveling to Cuba illegally and they stamp your passport, which happened to me.

But I had no problem re-entering the US via Santo Domingo...I think this fear of Americans traveling to Cuba is overstated.

There is a real risk - supposively they pick a a dozen or so Americans out each year that go to Cuba and make an example, fine them and maybe a short time in jail - but 60,000 Americans a year go to Cuba such as myself as tourist without any problem, at least these are the numbers I've heard.

So this travel restriction for Americans to Cuba is a farce. But if you want to discuss the problems with finding women in Cuba....that's something else. it's a police state and prostitution is illegal....so why go there for that purpose, other places - Thailand, Costa Rica, Rio , are far better venues for the hobby.

If you want to go Cuba for pure tourism (not sex tourism)...well the people are great and the country is really interesting and exciting....far better place to go as a tourist then say Aruba or Bermuda.

Just returned from 2 weeks in Camaguey, and I must say it was a far cry from Havana. I really cant give you guys the low-down on casa's because I did'nt need one, or a hotel for that matter.

My step-father is from Camaguey and I stayed in his tiny house over there. With this arrangement I was truly living as a Cuban, and it had it's advantages.

1. No accomodation expenses
2. No Problems with chicas
3. Slipped his sister $100 and got home-cooking for two weeks

With the good there's always bad so here it is

1. House was old and run down.
2. No shower or Hot water.
3. Had to Heat water, and take bucket baths
4. Periodic power outages
5. No toilet seat

Well anyway, on to the report

Flew in to Ciego de Avila got there about 6:30pm on a Saturday, it seems this airport is used only to bring tourists in to then bus them to Cayo Coco. Those tourists got through with no problem. However there were about 4 of us who were'nt going to Cayo Coco and we got the third degree(ie. Where you go?, where you stay?, What you bring?)and our luggage rifled trough. Electronic equipment, Laptops, VCR's...Fuggeddaboutit, Not Happening. I saw them take this guys VCR and said can get it back when he leaves. Lets see if it's still there by then.

By the time this was all over the aiport closed, Yeah, I said CLOSED it's 7:30pm!!!! and it was getting dark so i asked taxi how much to Camaguey he said $80 I said no and he took me to downtown Ciego where I caught a tourist Bus Called ViaAzul kinda like GreyHound. Two Hours to Camaguey and $6. By the time I got there and met with my step-fathers Family it was almost 1am and I was beat. Fun Begins Sunday.

Woke up, got cleaned up and walked to my aunt's house had breakfast we talked for a little while and she said "I'll be right back" about 15-20 minutes later she comes back with who I'll Call (Girl1) this girl was about 18, 5'2" white complexion with black hair and the tightest body I have ever had the pleasure of roaming. I mean you could bounce a quarter of this girl. She didn't ask for money all she wanted to do was fuck and shop for clothes. After a couple of days of fucking and shopping I needed a change and sent her home. I had yet had a chance to scope out the scene on my own. Unlike Havana, Everything in Camaguey is closer together and there is a fleet of Bycicle Taxis that will take you anywhere for a dollar or less. I went down into the pueblo and hung out in the Gran Hotel they have a small resturant bar where locals as well as tourists go, and cheap a buck a beer. It was kinda dead so I left there and started walking up the main drag and ran into (Girl2) and (Girl3).

We talked for a few minutes and then we went to the Bolera this place is a combination disco, bowling alley, billiard room full of young guys and girls emphasis on girls. We started drinking and dancing and I got a little more drunk than I usually do in public. Thinking with the wrong head I took both of them back to my little casa. Now Girl2 was thin Black with a pretty face and nice lips, while Girl3 was mulatta thicker with bigger breasts. We all got together on the bed then the 2 girls went into the bathroom and I knew they were getting there story straight on the money the wanted to ask me for.

We settled on $30 a piece which was a little more than I wanted to pay but the thought of them both rolling all over me was more than I could stand and I agreed. Girl2 was Not as attractive to me naked as she was clothed go figure, but girl3 was more attractive naked. Now fellas, fucking 2 women simultainously looks a lot easier in the porno flicks then it actually is. Anyway, I guess
there are traits that women have that are universal because girl2 was mad because I spent more time with girl3 then with her and argument ensued and I separated the 2 girls and tried to calm Down Girl2 while I was doing this that must have been when girl3 basically cleaned me out of all my toiletries colongne, soap, tooth paste, powder, even my toothbrush. I didn't realize this til the next morning obviously.

Memo to all who read:

Don't take more than 1 girl back to your room, the poverty and neediness of this country is extreme. Speaking of the next morning, Girl1 comes over and wakes me up and wants to know what happend last night since she realized before I did what was missing from the room. Now instead of buying 12 beers at .85 cents each, I bought 12 beers at 8 pesos each. you do the math.

I went to a cuban barbershop and got a Cut and a shave (5 pesos with the tip) then strolled int this bar caled El Cambio now in a lot of the bars in town you have to pay with dollars. This was one of them but it afforded a nice crossview of foot trafic in two directions. Now while i'm in here drinking and girl watching these two girls walk by whom i'll call Girl4 and TheGirl. I quickly finished my beer determined to talk to TheGirl, got to them and for some reason lost my nerve and walked right by them. But then, Girl4 asked me in spanish if i would invite them for a drink. I smiled and said sure figuring nows my chance at TheGirl we went back to El Cambio and I ordered some drinks and began some small talk, but it was obvious that there was some chemistry between me and TheGirl and we were kinda focused in on each other.

This made Girl4 a little upset as she tried to get my attention but i was keyed in on TheGirl we Talked laughed, flirted and eventually went to my casa minus Girl4. The sex was fabulous almost like first time lovers sex. We were inseperable for the rest of my trip.

She said that Girl4 was pretty experienced at getting together with tourists, but that she wasn't and was with her because she had nothing to do that day. She didn't want money for sex, she really liked me and wanted to spend time with me. Which was cool with me cause I had spent alot of money very quickly when I got there and could'nt solve her problems. Overall, Camaguey Is a great place for single guys that speak spanish. without spanish you will have a very hard time, as there are practically no english speaking people here. Food is cheap, Drink Is Cheap, and the women are some the finest I've seen ever.

It's a bit of a pain getting here as there are no direct flights to Camaguey. You have to fly into Ciego de Avila 2 hours away or Holguin 4 hours away. and I reccomend ViaAzul Cheap and relatively comfortable transportation.

I'm in my mid-thirties, and to tell you the truth I really didn't concern myself with hiding my money. A Cuban Girl if she wants to find it she will, I kept a separate wallet and put it in a compartment in my garment bag. and kept my garment bag under the bed.

My advice is if you you're worried about chicas stealing, then when the sex is over make her leave and if you like her tell her to come back in the morning to go out for breakfast - she will.

FYI, there are charter flights to Camaguey from Montreal during the winter months. Last winter I flew into Camaguey and took Viazul to Holguin, Trinidad and Cienfuegos. I'd still say Santiago is my favorite city in Cuba. There are more women, less hassles and more other things to do there.

The way things work in Cuba varies from city to city. For example, in Trinidad none of the Casas would allow you to have women guests (even if you registered them). In Santiago I never had a problem finding a casa where I could bring in as many women as I wanted to.

Recommendation is New Gerona on the Isla de la Juventud. I was there 2 times last year and just returned from a trip in late November. Girls are $15 a night and casa particular is $15 a night. Make sure you go downtown to the disco Rumba which opens at 10:30 p.m. There are about 70 girls sitting on the curb outside looking for sex or someone to pay their way into the disco. They range in color from white to black and many in between.

Still need to avoid the police, but the police are very laid back on this island. In fact one cop was trying to hustle the girls himself outside the disco.

Many of the casa owners do not like it if you change girls every night. Their neighbors watch everything and can report them to the police. Make sure they know up front that you are looking for a novia but want to change a few girls before you decide on one. Otherwise if you change girls alot they will ask you to leave and tell you "they forgot" about another tourist who had supposedly made a reservation at their casa before. The best casas are ones with a private side entrance.

During the day you can go to the downtown area near the Rumba and chat with other ex pats. One guy named Roy from Texas has been living there since '96. Four or five guys, Eddie and Lou come down every winter from the US to avoid the cold weather.

Phone for Gabriela and Eugenio in New Gerona, Isla de la Juventud is (46) 324456. Address is Calle C No. 4024 between 4 and 6th street. Tell the driver to go by the hospital, and then by the special school. You will be about 3 blocks away from their house. They have 2 apartments for rent. One upstairs, the other down with a private entrance. $15 a night.

Please also note that there will be 4-5 other casa particular owners who will meet the passengers off the flight at the airport by the baggage claim. They really need your money.


IN downtown Gerona, every night at 10:30 the girls sit on the curb outside la Rumba. Sundays, MOndays, what have you.

There is also a fried chicken place across the street and another restaurant open a block away. The main street is 39th street at about 23d avenue.

$15 is for all night, some girls want $20. One natural blond with freckles and pink nipples demanded $40 and she was well worth it. The italian guys pay only $5 I have been told. Sorry but I did not visit any other towns on Isla. There is a town named Fe, population about 20,000 but I never got there. I was goint to rent a car and driver for a day and travel the island, but he raised his price from $20 to $30 so I said forget it.

You can rent a bici-taxi for anywhere in New Gerona for 5-10 Cuban pesos. Don't let them charge you $1. There are 26 pesos to a dollar.

Recommend you go to the Hotel Gaviota during the day and swim at their pool. Charge is $1 for a non-resident, but you get a free drink at the pool in return. Usually there are a few girls by the pool.

Also there are 2 beaches nearby. One with black sand from the marble quarry nearby. May want to rent a motor scooter for $20 / day.

Usually you will find 3-4 English speaking men hanging around the Rumba disco restaurant next door if you want some company or someone to compare notes with.

You buy the tickets to Isla at the domestic airport in Habana. $24 each way from Habana. If the flight is full, just ask for a VIP seat. They hold back 3 seats on each flight for VIPs,(tourists from other countries or government officials) but you will need to pay $10 extra. I never had any problem, but once had to wait all afternoon for the evening flight. When you get to Isla buy your return ticket at the airport or at the travel agency next door to the Rumba disco.

If you pass through Moa you might check out a newly opened bar called "El Estigon" located in the barrio known as Playa. I don't know it personally but I'm told it has "dos rumbos" or two sections. One is for peso Cubano and the other is for "fulas" or dollars. The fact you have a section designated for dollars means you will have chicas hoping to get some action involving those fulas. So it might be interesting esp since it's the only game in town between Holguin and Baracoa. However, Moa is one nasty little place with its two 24-hour nickle processing refineries. Interesting fact: Moa has the largest known open nickle deposit on the face of the earth. Good luck. Please report back your findings.

What I meant by nasty little place is that Moa has been the hub of Cuba's mineral extraction industry (nickle and platinum) for over 70 years. Until recently, no effort was made to treat or even nominally mitigate the effluent (waste) from the mineral extraction and refinery processes. The cancer and leukemia rates in the area are abnormally high as are other pollution related illnesses. Moa's famous signature red dirt is ubiquitous and it is a direct result of airborne pollutants staining the soil after so many years of accumulation. However, I did see alot of good looking chicas in the "downtown" area of Moa when I was there in March, 2001. But I wasn't free to check them out. I got a lot of 'come hither' looks even while accompanied by my Cubana "girlfriend." The touristy beach resort Guadalavaca near Holguin also has some hot babes as does Baracoa about 50 kilometers east of Moa. Baracoa is a neat little town with some great beaches especially Maguana. I saw some very hot chicas on that beach. Well worth the effort. If you go, please give scout report regarding new bar called El Estigon in the barrio/reparto of Moa called La Playa. Good luck.

Thank you Vampyr for the clarification regarding red dirt. I had read somewhere that the color was due to pollutant build-up over the years but apprarently that's not the case. Also, thanks for the positive input. Like most of Cuba, Moa struck me as very safe. I know the girls walk around at all hours of day and night and do not fear assault. Also, I think it could be fun place to party down for a day or two. It's just a little short on amenities. I also think the pollution is not a problem for short-term visits. The odors from the factories vary with wind direction and they can be bothersome. But I did not mean to convey message that Moa should be avoided. It just has some downside elements not present with other parts. Use it as a jump-point to Baracoa. There's a kind of street party (cumbancha) on Friday and Sat nights in the downtown area (Baracoa) with some very good looking girls seeking action. It's near the discoteca which is located a few doors down from La Trova de La Musica.

Good luck in New Gerona, Isla de la Juventud. As you wait for your luggage there should be about 7-8 people with cards for their casas. Try to find one who speaks some English and has a casa circa de la centra de la cuidad.

Otherwise you can take a public bus to the center of town and go to the travel agency on 39th street next door to the disco. There are usually 3-4 other English speaking guys who meet there in the daytime to chat and share advice. They can recommend a casa near to the action. The disco on 39th street offers more than enough action for $15 a fuck, short time and if you want the girl all night, buy her a drink and she will probably agree to stay all night as well. The girls are interested in buying new clothes or shoes, makeup etc. and meeting a tourist is the way to get a few bucks after a few fucks.

Many of the girls are worth GFE. It depends on what you want and how you approach the girls and people who live near your casa. There is usually a neighbor girl who is single, or if you don't want her you can fuck her mother.

I plan on returning Sept 29th or 30th for about 7-10 days, but have a special girl from before I want to spend time with.

Just came back from a last minute trip to Cuba.... Santiago and Havana are sufficiently covered in this forum, so I´ll add some words about Trinidad and Camaguey.
Trinidad is a nice and well-preserved colonial town, but chica-wise there are better places to go. Casa owners usually don´t allow chicas in their casas, as they are all afraid of getting into trouble with the police. For the same reason, many of the better-looking chicas are very cautious not to be seen talking to extranjeros. If you want to find out for yourself, head for the staircase beneath the Casa de la Musica, right next to the main church on Plaza Mayor. Nice open-air area with live band, salsa dancing and many pretty muchachas. Unfortunately the police is also there, watching everything. If you really are determined, you can surely arrange something with a pro and have the girl sort out a casa, the pros are less afraid of talking to tourists. There is also a disco in a cave, called Las Cuevas or Disco Ayala, a stunning place to see but not a good place for action. When I went there, it was mostly regular couples and groups of tourists, and, surprisingly, a large surplus of men! Also no chicas at the Playa Ancon, only packaged tourists. Trinidad is a nice place to relax a few days, but if you look for action go somewhere else.
I spent only 2 days in Camaguey, but I liked the place much better than Santiago (which I think is overrated and full of hassle) and Havana. Camaguey has less traffic, a nice pedestrian zone, well restored colonial buildings, decent food and some fine chicas. They are easy to find, just walk on Independencia or Maceo between Parque Ignacio Agramonte and Iglesia de la Senora de la Soledad where they hang out. Another popular place is the Cafeteria of the Gran Hotel on Maceo. For action late at night, the place to be is Colonial on Agramonte, a open-air cafe/disco that seems to be designed solely for the purpose of bringing together cubanas with extranjeros...each night it is packed and the party goes until 3 a.m. Don´t go before 11 p.m! The girls are mostly pros, but there are some real hotties. The standard rate is 25$. I offered one girl 20 plus a lipstick, she agreed and we went to my casa and had some good fun. The police does not seem to care, I saw many girls flirting with them (and was told that many also fuck them). There is also an Internet cafe on Agramonte which charges 5 USD for 3 hrs (!). It was interesting to see the place packed with Cubans (mainly the chulos and jineteras from Colonial, as normal Cubans don´t have the money to afford Internet). For some good and cheap food, try the open-air restaurant next to the Iglesia de la Senora de la Soledad, anyone who has experienced the sluggish service of Cuban restaurants will be amazed on how fast and friendly they are.
In general, I´d say that January is not the best time to go....weather was quite mixed with some really cold days in Havana.. It was also very crowded with tourists wherever I went, which meant you did not have much choice regarding casas and sometimes had to be happy to find a place at all, especially in Santiago. And chicawise, of course it means that the real sweeties are early taken or have to "work" several times per day...not everybody´s taste...

came back on the 27th from a 3 week stay in Cuba--havana and cienfuegos.
I planned to stay in a city 2 to 3 days then move on. In three weeks head east then when due back home head back to havana directly, by plane train or bus.
I DID NONE OF THAT. I met a guy in Cancun who was from cancun. he went regularly to cuba to find women. He invited me to stay in his casa: big with kitchen and living room in a residential area for 25 USD. I paid for beer and stuff when he threw little parties. So I still spent money. The girl they found for him "liked" me. She kept eying me and coming out of his bedroom that first night and coming to my bed. to sit and smoke or just avoid giving it up to him it seemed. After a few visits to the corner of my bed, as I lay awake I kissed her. He did not know. He took her to lunch next day and ditched her. Two days when he went back to cancun I went to get her at home. I was a sucker in love with a jinetera. MY FIRST TIME IN CUBA. So after that I stayed with her for TWO WEEKS. at her aunt's. we slept together. she kept a leash on me. would not let me go out alone. I loved it I have to admit. her aunt was nice too. short pretty and busty. she seemd to flirt with me. But the girl I was with only had sex with me 3 times. and no back door or bare back or swallowing. not even BBJ. I know now she was using me.

The last week I did go to Cienfuegos and found girls. The owner of the casa I was in the first day would bring them like entrees. black, white whatever. He moved me to a friend's house on the second day where I could have girls, near the bus terminal. and I had 2 girls through him. both tall and slender. first uglier than the second, but more into it. alot. I got back from two weeks in Nueva Gerona (Isla Juventud, Cuba) just last Thursday. Sorry I haven’t posted before today, but I immediately came down with a strain of the flu not covered by my recent flu shot. Between recovery and work, today is the first day back where I felt I could write.
Nueva Gerona is everything npaul said it was. His comments were right on the mark.
I arrived on the late flight Wednesday, January 15th. The proprietors of my casa particular, Eugeneo and Coqui were at the airport to greet me and take a cheap taxi ride to their casa.
The rent was $15 per night, as promised. Breakfast was an extra $3 per day and dinner was $7 per day. Every meal was wonderful and was enough food to feed two. Dinners included lobster whenever you wanted it. I had the whole second floor of their home. It included a bedroom with a private bath (if the other bedroom was not occupied), a kitchen foyer, covered patio, balcony and sundeck. I had my own private entrance. Security was great. Locks and security bars were everywhere. The accommodations were neat and clean.
Since it had taken me 22 hours (four flights) to get there, I was only interested in sleep that first night. I took a shower and slept for 13 hours.
The next morning after breakfast, Coqui called me a bicycle taxi (they call them bctaxis) and for $1, he took me to the other end of town to the car rental. I rented a motor scooter for two days for $22 per day and drove all over to acclimate myself with the town and island. In the evening, my host Eugenio had a secure place in the back of the casa to lock up the “moto”. There aren’t a lot of cars on the island. Following a lobster dinner with another monger staying on the first floor (an Italian named Bruno) we went downtown around 11:00 PM to see what action was available. The discos had just opened and weren’t very crowded. We went to a small outdoor cafeteria near the major park where several dozen young people were hanging out. There were about a dozen good-looking women there. They couldn’t believe I was an American. I guess Italians and the occasional Canadian are all they ever see. In minutes I had 3-4 women around me and several men asking me what kind of woman I wanted. I found a thin 19 year old brunette named Jamie who was very cute, bought her a beer and started a conversation. After a few minutes, I asked her if she wanted to go home with me and she readily agreed. Bruno came back to where we were standing with two dark-skinned women and indicated one was for me. I told him I had made another selection. Jamie said “Why not take us both?” as though it was something she did every day. If the other girl had appealed to me, I would have. Incidentally, over the two weeks, I received this same offer three more times from other pairs.
Jamie had a 7 face, and an 8 body, and a 9 attitude. BBBJ and anything else also. It turns out that she had a child and wasn’t as tight as I prefer. She left with $15 of my money after one shot. She never asked for it, I decided on the amount.
Friday night was very cold for Cuba. It got down into the mid 50’s (F) every night, but that Friday was 10 degrees lower. Most Cubans don’t own a jacket, so very few women came out. I ended up with the town ****. She was 21, maybe 100 pounds. She too had had a child but was very tight (you never know). Never got her name. She asked for $25, we settled for $20 for a single shot. Looks 7, attitude 2. She was truly a chica of the calle.
I spent days exploring the town or visiting the abandoned beaches. Cubans won’t go to the beach unless it’s over 80 degrees. I read quite a bit on my balcony overlooking the street. Word had gotten out that I was in town and all of a sudden women everywhere found it necessary to detour down my street, walk past, look for eye contact, ask for a glass of water and try to strike up a conversation. One of the neighbor girls was changing clothes 6-7 times a day and walking past my balcony like it was a fashion model’s runway. She was really nice, but had a very possessive and observant, live-in boyfriend.
If I walked down the main street, people I didn’t even know were calling me by name. Nueva Gerona is a small town.
Around this time, I decided that I’d had enough of the professional girls and started being more selective. Many women there have real jobs (unlike Havana) they go to every day for 50 cents or $1. They can’t count on picking up even one tourist a month. I started looking for a girl who didn’t screw for a living.
I found a 24 year-old blonde who looked 17. She worked every day at a candy factory at the Patio, which is the #2 disco. She looked like a California surfer girl. Her name was Unique. Face 9, body 7, attitude, 8. She came attached to an ugly girlfriend (who she offered up in a threesome). The only downside was that she wanted to stay at the discos until about 2:00 AM every morning and she left for work by 5:00 AM. That left three hours, which I prudently used for about a week. She never asked for a dime. I gave her $15/session and some small flea market gifts, which I always bring along.
I was supposed to meet her at the disco one night but it was particularly cold. She didn’t show. Bruno and I had purchased a $3 bottle of rum and some cola’s. It’s a great way to break the ice with the girls at the disco. They all drink rum (unlike Havana women) and will mill around anyone who has any. If you have a table, it’s like holding court. Every now and then, I’d take a walk around to see if I had missed anything. Many girls wait outside the door because they don’t have the $1 cover charge. I found three. A blonde, a brunette and a black girl. I paid their admission and started feeding them some rum. I had also brought my digital camera, which has a monitor. They had never seen one and we took many glamour shots. While the blonde was pretty (a 9), so was her cousin, the brunette. The brunette however, had a beautiful smile and a sparkle in her eyes that I couldn’t resist. I decided I wanted her. I picked up some information from her half-brother who had become one of our hangers-on. I had moved up one more level in chicas. This one had only slept with her fiancé with whom she had broken up some five months before. He was from Spain and had left her with a broken heart. As soon as they saw I was interested in her, several people, independent from one another warned me not to expect her to sleep with me until I was her boyfriend. Under no circumstances was I ever to insult her by attempting to pay her money.
I courted the brunette and bought her some clothing and food for her family. She finally did become my girlfriend. It was worth the wait. Still waters run deep. Just before I left, I gave her money for a bicycle.
I did end up meeting npaul. He showed up my last day. He was picking up his girlfriend and taking her to Havana. The four of us had a great time that last day. It seemed like we had known each other for years.
A problem I encountered in my courtship involved the small size of Nueva Gerona and the fact that gossip is the favorite pastime of all the women. My girlfriend knew about all of the women I had been with. She not only knew who and when, but even the things I enjoy most in bed. There are no secrets in this town
I never saw any police during the day. At night there was one in the disco and another at the main intersection. They never bothered me or anyone who was with me.
I should have brought a boom-box or cd player and speakers. My host’s unit wasn’t portable and was downstairs in his living-room. I had to go there to listen to the music I’d brought. I could have had some great parties on the secluded sundeck at night with neighborhood girls.
After two weeks and too little time with the new novia, I had to return home.
I will return, probably the latter part of May. I can’t wait!

2. Superb price on renting the motor scooter. I think I'll do the same. Any idea on the name of the rental agency?

mrgreek - Yes, the casa particular I stayed at was the same one npaul recommended. It is about 2 kilometers walk to the main park at the south end of town. Eugenio understands a little English, Coqui, his wife, none. There is a neighbor who speaks
English. I didn't need her. I passed with my poor Spanish.
There are not any problems with overnight guests. All places there seem to be Chica friendly.
The motor scooter was through Havanautos, close to the main park.
I walked the streets with chicas day and night. I never saw any police during the day. At night they were in the discos and there was one on the main corner in town. I would either take a bctaxi with the chica (and he would start off in the opposite direction of the police) or, if we walked, it would be near each other, not hand in hand at night. My girlfriend took my arm during the day and we walked right down 39th St (Main Street). I think she wanted everyone in town to see that I was taken. 39th St is a walking street for it's full length through the center of town. You can't ride your motor scooter or even a bicycle down it. The cops do give out tickets for that.

Well, I'm off to Cuba this coming Sunday for a couple of weeks and I'd like to thank you both for your help and information concerning Neuva Gerona.

If any of you have any last minute tidbits, feel free to contribute. If not, when I arrive back to the "great white north" I'll surely write a report with my observations.

I've been in contact with a few friends in Cuba this past week and things are looking bad for Ciego de Avila, Las Tunas, Camaguey and Holguin. Our buddy, El Jefe, made an address last month to eradicate the "drug problem", unfortunately he's clamped down on casa's again. I know in Ciego these days that the only way you can have an overnight "guest" is to have a marriage certificate.

2 weeks ago Jan 26 the police were searching a house for drugs one block away from my casa particular in New Gerona. The casa owner sent my girlfriend home out of fear. My girlfriend's uncle had already been locked up in jail for drugs some time ago, so she did not want to get arrested for anything. Apparently the police can search without a warrant, just based on rumor. Alot of things there are run by fear. I'm sure there were alot of drugs being flushed down the toilet in the neighborhood that day.

You know, it's funny. I've been going to Cuba for almost eight years now, and I've never once been offered drugs by anybody. Most Cubans can't afford rice the last two weeks of every month, much less drugs.

The only drugs I prefer in Cuba is the rum, the cigars, the scenery and the people. It's a natural high that can't be surpassed. I've been offered in the past but I always decline politely. Anyone taking illicit drugs in a foreign country needs to give their head a shake cuz the risk is too great.

Temp in Neuva Gerona is looking better and better each day, low to mid 80's during the day down to the low 70's at night. Perfect weather!!!!

I've decided to "play it by ear" for my casa because I'd like to stay closer to the main park than Eugenio's place, even though it sounds like an excellent place. I'll be armed with plenty of addresses that I've found via the internet and probably take a cab from the airport and scout out different casas.

Yesterday, I spoke with a friend who just returned from a trip to Havana and Nueva Gerona. He brought his Havana chica to Nueva Gerona with him. He paid $100 to a Cuban lawyer in Havana for a letter which declared that his chica (with her carnet number shown) was his girlfriend and was not a jintinera. It listed his passport number also. They had no problems with police in either place. He said things are pretty quiet in Havana.

npaul - your girlfriend said to say hello to you. My buddy got the flu in Nueva Gerona, just as I did. He's a doctor and said it's a virus specific only to Isla Juventud. He said once you've had it, you're immune for future visits. He stayed at Villa Coqui and found everything great. Are you planning a visit in the near future? What airline do you use to get over to Nassau?

I've just returned from 4 days in Havana and 10 days in La Isla. I have to admit that a major crackdown is happening throughout the main island of Cuba. I spoke with many people and reports coming out of Cienfeugos, Las Tunas and Ciego de Avila all appear to be valid. Casa's are limited to only one room to rent, chica's are scared shitless of the police and in general the streets are VERY quiet. One must take into account however that Cuba is Cuba and what happens during one week may disappear within the following week.

As for Isla de la Juventud, the crackdown doesn't appear to have been quite as severe as on the main island. Previous reports from NPaul and El Colorado were "bang on the money" and I thank both of them for their contributions. La Isla is very small, with only a few things to do which may not appeal to some of the folks here. I, myself enjoyed it immensely. I absent-mindedly forgot my drivers license back home, so I couldn't rent a motor scooter during my stay.

A few additional things to add to NPaul's and El Colorado's reports though....

1. Internet access is now available at the main telephone company office. There are two computers available to use if you have the Etesca internet card ($15 for 5 hours).

2. I tried out the three main restaurants on calle 39 and was surprisingly pleased with the quality of each. Rumbo's has a real pizza oven these days and their pizza's tasted a hell of a lot better than the usual microwave jobbies as per norm.

3. I'm a smoker and I've been in smoky bars before, however, I've never experienced a smoky place like the disco at Rumbo's in all my life. You could of cut the smoke with a knife because it was so thick.

4. I spent most of my days at Da Prisa on calle 39. Great place except the music sometimes was so loud that you could not have a conversation without yelling at each other. Lots of chica's around to keep you company.

5. Police presence wasn't that heavy compared to Habana although three different people told me that a few chica's were picked up one night by the police for "talking" with a tourist. The truth of this event happening is dubious at best, however, I found it odd that 3 different people mentioned it to me.

6. Lots of casa's within walking distance of the main action. Best thing to do is to get a casa at the airport and tell them that you only want to stay ONE night. Spend the next day checking out other casa's. Generally the rates are $15 a nite.

I did get a sore throat some mornings when I was at the Isla de la Juventud as Npaul said. But it disappeared a few hours later. I did not eat any pussies (lacking of soap and other cleaning products in Cuba makes me very hesitating to go down there) so it cannot be from down there. I think it was from kissing girls. There were some nights I did not kiss or fuck any girls on the island. I was fine the next morning. One night, I was DFK this girl on the street for a long time and got BBBJ at a dark alley for nothing (I did not even buy her a drink). My throat was sore in an hour. It was not so easy to get to the Isla de la Juventud from Havana. Since I don’t speak any Spanish, I figured that I could ask Hotel Nacional for help. I went to the hotel desk to see if I can buy the ticket for the next two days’ flight from Hotel. There is a guy who is in the hotel lobby to do the travel arrangement. He arranged the round trip ticket for me for $63. It was way more expensive than other reported on this board. But it saved the trouble since I don’t speak any Spanish. The other thing was I did not get the date and flight I wanted. All of flights were fully booked. I had to take a 6AM flight. There was no empty seat on the flight. I paid the cash at the hotel and picked up my ticket from a office under Hotel Libra.

When I arrived at the Island at morning 7:30AM, I picked the first and only Casa Particular owner approaching me. He doesn’t speak English and I don’t speak any Spanish. After a difficult conversation, it was clearly that the room was $15 per day as others mentioned. I just went for it. The taxi from the airport to the place was $5. The house is about 5 blocks away from the action. There are 2 rooms for rent. Each room has the private bathroom, but it shares the living room with the owner. I paid $5 dollar to ask owner to cook me dinner.

I had the most surprised experience with the owner of the casa particular. When I arrived at the casa, I was trying to ask if it would be trouble to bring girls backing to my room. With a few Spanish words I know, I pointed to my bed and said “muchacha” and “no problem? (With the Spanish or French accent)”. He said something back in Spanish. Only thing I understand was “No Problem”. He pointed at his watch. It indicated something at 11PM. He asked me if I like black or white girl. I indicated I like white (this is a few key Spanish words I can communicate to others) girl. Litter do I knew, the guy was completely misunderstanding what I said. He thought I asked him to provide a girl every night. That was what happened in the next two days.

The first night, I went to the disco around 10:30PM. There were many people around the disco. Guess what, the owner was waiting for me at intersection. So, we just wait near the disco. There were some girls coming to say hello to the guy. He will ask me if I like the girl. Anyway, I made my selection and went back my room in half hour. I gave the girl $25.

The second night I was even more surprised. I came back from my scuba diving around 5:30PM. I told the owner that I was going to take a show and he should get the dinner ready at 7PM. After the show, I came out my room. There was a blonde talking to the owner at the door. The owner made a face expression (do you want to fuck this one?). I don’t have my contact lens on, but the girl seems to have a great body. I walked to the door to get a close look. She is very good looking but appears to be older than what I like. Later I found out she was 27. The owner somehow was back to the kitchen. The girl asked me if she could come into the living room. Sure, why not. I was still surprised by what was happening here. We sat at sofa and she started to kiss me. I guess that it was the only ways to communicate her intention with me not understand Spanish. She pointed at my room. That was it. I gave her $25 when I was done. She wanted to come back tomorrow for $15 but I turned her down. She has a great body. But she has 3 children. This is a big turn off for me. She gets some great tits, with milk. I was really afraid to suck the milk to get any disease. Anyway, when we done, the owner knocked the door and indicates the dinner was ready. Can you believe this? A full service casa particular.

After that, I talked the owner not to bring me any girls. I want to find them by myself.

The owner did ask for my passport for the record. I don’t like it at all. I guess that I have no choice.

Haven´t been offered, but been in contact with locals who use it, it gave some of them problems because they were doing it at a place where the owner would get difficulties anyway. So there was a quarrel.

I wouldn´t do it there, even if I really wanted it (which I don´t). I´d hate to get in a nastier contact with local police than having my car analysed for 7 hours because it was broken into.

Just got back from a two-week trip in Cuba. I spent the first week in Nueva Gerona on Isla Juventud and the second week in La Habana.
Nueva Gerona is like an armed camp. Since the two highjackings there, the military and police are all over the place. The repression is in full force. You cannot be seen on the street with a chica unless in a large group either day or night. Cabs must be taken everywhere. At the disco, police watch your every move both inside and outside.
Fortunately, I had a girlfriend cultivated from my last visit in January when things were much more laid back. I had the whole second floor of my casa particular and hosted several private parties there. I also went to the Hotel Gaviota pool where things were OK.
Havana was the opposite. Since the arrest of the dissidents, the police now feel that all is under control and there were very few police on the street. We still took cabs at night, but were unmolested. A friend who came along has a girlfriend in Havana. He purchased one of the $100 letters from the Cuban Department of Justice (is that an oxymoron!) and the few times he was challenged walking with his chica, the cops backed off after seeing the letter. I had taken my Isla chica to Havana, but she was terrified to go out much. We did go to dinner most nights and a few nightclubs. She got in some shopping.
However, the government has cancelled the annual festival normally held around this time of year. They’re afraid of too many drunken Cubans assembling on the street.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to check out Johnny’s (Rio), Rodeo or any of the usual haunts for working girls.
The Cubans as a whole seem more depressed than I have ever seen them in the last eight years. There was very little tourism.

day 3

i woke up late and tad and i had talked about maybe going to cienfuegos and trinidad today since we would spend several more days in havana. i had to pick up seaman on the 24th so i agreed. i told my casa that i was leaving for a few days. they seemed ok with it and i left ½ of my stuff there. before coming tad puts an american girl on the phone and she asks if we will give her a ride. i wasn’t too thrilled but i thought why not? i picked them up and off we went.

of course we got lost on the way there. as usual there was no signs. and the one time there was a sign for cienfuegos i guess it was for a different cienfuegos. (there are two?). a guy offered to show us the way and got in the car. he went quite a long way with us. i gave him $2 at the end of the journey and he wanted more. the girl with us took it upon herself to give him all these magazines i had that i was going to read on the beach. i would have rather given him more money. oh well.

if you drive outside of havana, make sure you ask directions every 20 minutes or so to make sure you are going the right direction. there are a lot of forks in the road and there is no signage so it’s easy to get lost. none of these people speak english in the countryside so don’t even attempt to drive unless you are the adventurous type.

we stopped in cienfuegos and i bought lunch for the 3 of us. there was a really scenic restaurant at the end of the main throughway of town. there is a view of the water surrounding the restaurant. it sucked they only had 2 dishes though and they weren’t that good so we didn’t eat that much of it. the girl with us was an american “backpack” type. i don’t know how she was going to survive on her meager budget. she planned on seeing a lot of different cities. i guess one of the ways was by mooching free rides from city to city?? she was a nice enough girl though. she slept most of the way.

cienfuegos looked too small for us so we decided to go ahead and drive to trinidad. the view on the way there was very serene and scenic. there are tons of people hitchhgiking. i still can’t imagine what they do if they can’t hitch a ride. you forget how lucky you are until you come to cuba and experience everything we have that they don’t.

the drive only took about an hour from cienfuegos to trinidad. it’s about 75 km. like dumbasses none of us thought to make a reservation anywhere. trinidad is a very small town so many of the places were already booked. to make things worse, now we needed 3 rooms. we had this guy show us some places. i asked to be near the ocean. we couldn’t find a place with 3 rooms. i only asked that there be hot water for the shower and a good bed. we arrive to this casa and there is only two rooms. we reluctantly agreed as tad agreed to share a room with hitchhgiker girl (hhg). then i asked the casa owner if i could have chicas over and he immediately says no. then to make matters worse they tell us we must eat breakfast and dinner there or we couldn’t stay. that broke the camels back. too many restrictions. even if it was only for one night. we head back and i decided to ask another casa i saw. they had two rooms. it was a quaint place with hot water which sealed the deal. they also said we had to eat there but i didn’t care at this point. it was dark and the last thing i wanted to do was go through town and try to find a place to stay.

hhg was making phone calls trying to find a place but everywhere was booked. round about this time i knew it was a mistake to bring her. we couldn’t leave her hanging now. i told her to go back to the original casa that we refused. i drove her back there and i’m damn glad we didn’t book there. there was a baby crying and screaming and it was just chaotic. plus she was bitching about how havana is so much cheaper than trinidad. huh??? i told her to call me tomorrow and i’d drive her back into town to a casa particular that she booked on the phone. i asked her how much it was going to be and she had a worried look on her face since she didn’t ask. the casas are only like $25 a night in this town. i’m not used to traveling with people that think that is too much for a room. it was starting to get annoying so i’m glad we ditched her.

tad and i took hot showers and he rested while i typed all of this. we went to casa de la musica here in trinidad and it was open air outdoor music and dancing. mostly tourists. we were told there would be some girls but i sure as hell didn’t see any worth talking to. then we went to casa de la tropa. same story there with uglier tourists. we read about this cool disco that was in a cave. it’s called disco ayala or “la cueva”. we went there and it was a cool set up. us$10 admission which included any drink. it wasn’t that crowded with mostly drunk tourists and a few local girls but nothing to write home about. everyone kept saying it would pick up but we waited until 1 am and nada so we split. we drove around the street and not much action. i never thought i’d have a night in cuba that i didn’t hook up. first time for everything i guess. i actually don’t mind. i’ve only been sleeping like 3 hours a night and starting to hit the wall a little. especially with all the driving and not eating that often or well. did i mention the food here sucks? i’m going to bed. it’s about 2:20 am and i’m already in bed alone. how sad is that?

cuba might be cool for anyone that has only been to tijuana or a border town but i would no where consider it the major leagues of other world class monger destinations. plain and simple it can’t compare to the likes of buenos aires or rio. you shouldn’t even compare the two. totally different worlds.

i consider myself to have pretty good “game” with the chicas and i’m finding myself not even that motivated. i’m still having a good time enjoying cuba but the sex scene is totally overrated. whatever glory days cuba had i think are gone. i guess when we get back to havana i’ll see how the street scene is and also maybe get some phone numbers from frank. he called the other day but i wasn’t home. i don’t find that i need his guide services. i just need those phone numbers. more tomorrow.

day 4

tad and i had talked about going scuba diving so it was ironic when we were eating breakfast and the friend of our casa owner had a scuba shop. he waited for us to finish breakfast and then we went scuba diving. i had never been scuba diving before but he gave me an introductory course and then allowed me to scuba dive for about 45 minutes with him. it was nice and relaxing. there were some colorful fish but nothing compared to other places i’ve been to like curacao or hawaii.

cuba is a beautiful place. some people might think of coming for the girls but you might find yourself occupied by the people and the other things cuba has to offer. trinidad is a very small town but we were always doing something and keeping busy. we went into the city near the historic center. there is not much there but still a quaint and beautiful place to visit. it even had an internet café. we decided to go to playa ancon which is about 9 km from la boca where we were staying. we stayed just a hundred yards from the sea. it was nice and the people we stayed with were wonderful.

after the beach we came home and we sat in the patio and talked to the owner of the casa. he was such an intelligent guy. his kids are living in the united states and spain. he is very well spoken. my spanish is getting better and better to the point of being able to have detailed conversations about politics. it was funny whenever we talked about castro he wouldn’t say his name but would just make a “beard motion” with his hands. he explained life pre and post russian assistance, talked in details about the laws there and how he longed for change. people should note that things will change. i firmly believe things will change within the next 3 to 4 years and so did the owner. change is inevitable. i’m glad i got to experience life here before it does.

he also told me that casa particulars have to pay $400 us a month to operate their casas. that is such a high price and it boggles my mind. he said every few months the government makes it more and more difficult for casa particular owners as they are trying to drive tourists into the state run hotels so they can profit from tourism. now, the government only makes the $400 per month from the casa particular owner as opposed to the $100 a night from the nice hotels and the expensive meals.

i’m sitting here in my casa particular just relaxing and updating my report. this is one of the few downtimes i’ve had. i’ve brought about 7 paperback books and only am halfway through one of them.

i really am anxious to find some action now. i don’t know if i’ve ever been on vacation the past two years and not hobbied two consecutive days in a row. i hope this isn’t a first. stay tuned….

later that night – what an adventurous night. hhgg called us to see if we would meet her at casa de la musica. we met her for a drink and then we watched some dancing. we were determined to find chicas tonight. we went to a few places that the locals said were good. casa arte and a bar called chocolate. both were completely dead so we went back to cdm. we were getting a little frustrated on how difficult the scene here is. we even talked to this guy from mexico city that spoke english. he told us he has been to cuba 4 times and never had this much trouble in any town. he was leaving in the morning for las tunes. he was complaining how expensive trinidad was but i thought it was cheap. i’m not sure how you can expect it to get cheaper than $20 - $30 for a place to sleep. food isn’t that expensive. anyway cdm was still hopping.

when we arrived there we immediately ran into hhg. she was with two cubanas. one was really cute and had a nice body. she was just my type and was latina looking rather than darker. the other girl was black. hhg told me that she was coming to find tad and i to party with these girls. (i kept telling hhg i wanted to hook up with cubanas). then the cute girl says she can’t talk to me here in public. i tell her ok let’s go talk somewhere in private. she was a little surprised. i think she thought i might be the wholesome good innocent tourist type. nope. i tell her it would be even better if she had a place to go since she couldn’t come to our casa particular. trinidad is very very strict. she tells me that the apartment is $15 and she and her friend wanted $35@. i tell her that is too much and she lowers it to $25 @ for them. i was in no mood to negotiate. i was horny and it was hard enough to find action. i agreed. she went on to tell me that we need to follow them but keep a very good distance. we would eventually come to a private casa where we rent a room for an hour or so.

tad and i were now learning how things worked. earlier that night we noticed a girl starring at us but she wouldn’t talk to us. she kept looking back waiting for us to follow her. that is how it is done here. the girls will stare at you or hiss at you then you need to follow her if you’re interested so you can talk in private and negotiate. we arrive to a very dark street and the girls tell us to wait outside. a cubano let’s us in and they are all scared out of their minds. they keep peering out the door for a few minutes before relaxing. all the lights were off. i was never nervous but i just couldn’t believe the fear these people have. my girl later told me they get 4 years in jail if they are caught. yikes!

i went upstairs to a bedroom and tad stayed downstairs with his girl. believe it or not the girl’s don’t carry condoms for fear the police might find it on them so you better have some with you. thank god tad gave me one as i left mine at home. i had a great session. very gfe and dfk, bbbj and she just kept going on and on. 22 years old with a spinner body. her breasts were a little small but she was fine. afterwards i showered in very cold water. she told me she only works one or two times a week and that is enough to get by.

i waited for tad and he was happy with his girl too. he even commented how he was bummed we had no more condoms. (you should have seen his face when he muttered those words, "she might not be beautiful but she put her heart into it". ) ha, ha! i told him we can bum some condoms from the mexican guy i met. some norwegian guy gave us some and we were happy. we went around looking for some action. we went to fresca chocolate where there was not much action. there were a bunch of gay guys so we left.

when we walked out we bumped into our girls from earlier that night. i was surprised when my girl asked me for a ride home. she said she lived several miles away and didn’t have money for a taxi. i asked her why she was so worried before and now didn’t seem to be. i told her it might be dangerous for her and her friend but she didn’t seem worried. i asked her again and got the same answer. they got into our car and i told them i was hungry. she asked if i would buy them something to eat too. i told them sure but maybe it wasn’t a good idea to be seen with tourists. she said as long as we weren’t in the historic center it was fine. i was doubtful but i asked her about 3 times and she kept saying it was ok.

we get to this rapido (fast food joint) that is open 24/7. we order some sandwiches and we are joking around having a good time. tad and i are laughing about how trinidad has a big learning curve but we were happy to have figured it out. right around this time a cop outside motions for the girls to come out. the girls look scared. i’m thinking this might happen and that’s why i asked them 3 times if it was ok. the cop takes their id’s. i ask them if it will help if i talk to the police officer. she said maybe. unbeknownst to me the cop is not there. i figure out that there is a police station around the corner. i guess the cops told the girls to stop by the police station.

i go into the police station and explain to them that we were dumb lost americans that needed something to eat and they showed us. then the girls were hungry so we offered them something to eat. the cop clearly didn’t want to deal with me. his only words to me were, “are you her husband”? there was nothing i could do. the girls motioned to leave. tad and i felt terrible but i did ask the girls about 3 times if this was ok. the girls were stupid to do this. i think the police were just shaking them down. we talked to several girls throughout the trip that said the cops just wanted $5 or $10 whenever they can get it. horrible. the cops here suck.

i went to bed that night wondering if the girls were ok and hoping the cops didn’t search them because they would surely find the money we “donated” to them. i’ve never felt guilty for spending time with a girl and this wasn’t a good feeling.

day 5

tad and i were both sleeping horrible. the beds here pretty much all suck and the pillows are pretty bad too. i’m not used to “roughing it”. our casa owners were great though. nelson and narcisa were great people. narcisa was a great cook and her meals were the best food in cuba. we never had a bad meal in her house. anyone that is in trinidad should at least eat dinner/breakfast everyday there.

we decided to go to ancon early since it was sunny. the beaches are pretty good there. there were no cubans there except some selling pizzas on the beach and the one’s working at the hotel. tad took a brief salsa lesson. after a few hours we ran into hhg. she seemed to be everywhere we were. trinidad is small so you can expect to bump into people you see. i guess she shared a ride to ancon with some other backpacker types to save on taxi fare. she said taxi fare from trinidad to ancon was $8.

we thought about avoiding hhg but i had a plan to use her to help us tonight with hooking up with girls again. it’s easy for a female to talk to the locals but problematic for the male tourist. hhg wanted to bum a ride back to town. tad and i planned to shower then head to topes de collantes for a side day trip. we heard good things about it. hhg asked if she could go with us. sure. why not? the road there was dangerously curvy but not too bad. we did see one car that went over the cliff and an ambulance was at the side of the road.

there is a little rest stop on the way to topes. definitely stop here and walk up the stairs. there is an area where you can see the entire area. it had breathtaking views. we arrived at topes and most of the hiking trails were closed since it was getting dark. i noticed the general population here was ligher skinned and more euro looking. there were tons of kids walking home from school. everyone looked happy. we headed back to trinidad.

that night tad and i had the best dinners of our trip. the dessert was fabulous too. we headed to casa de la musica to listen to the live music and scope out the action. there were a lot more tourists out since it was a little warmer. the girls really didn’t do too much for me. a few cuties but few and far between. tad spotted a cute blonde with a great body. tad made eye contact with her but then she danced with someone. tad and i were wondering if girls just come here to dance. the answer is no. the majority of the girls that are here are here to work. it might not be obvious and you may even think for sure a girl isn’t working. some have good covers. one girl that was there said she was a professional dancer. she was an awesome dancer and in fact might have been. she was there with her “brother” who also danced. she was here every night and he always escorted her. we always would see them come and go and then later saw them in fresca chocolate looking for tourists. just make eye contact with a girl and motion for her to follow you and you’ll be set.

tad’s blondie was dancing and tad and i decided to just walk around. before you knew it the blonde was behind us a few blocks down. she was with a very ugly girl. the downside was we would often see a hot girl with an ugly girl. many times they weren’t willing to separate. this was one of those cases. this blonde girl was a total rookie “farm girl”. she had no clue where to go. i inquired about prices and she just told me that she “isn’t one of those type of girls”. then i asked her if she knew of a private place we could go to “talk”. she told me no. i made it clear that tad wanted to see her but she kept trying to talk to me. she wouldn’t leave her ugly friend and tad was getting frustrated and just wanted to leave. i was more patient and saw a more fruitful outcome. i found a nice guy on the street and asked him if he knew of a private place to rent. he said yes. he was super cool and never asked for anything.

the girl was still difficult and wouldn’t leave her friend. finally tad and i drove away. we went to fresca chocolate and when we came out she was there waiting with her friend. she was crying though. the cubano guy helped us talk to her. the police came and parked right in front of the girls. i told the cubano to tell the girls to meet us 2 blocks down around the corner. we waited and the blondie showed up. tad was still frustrated but i told him we could make it work. there was no way i was going to session with her ugly friend but i offered to wait with her. we couldn’t bring the girls back to our casa so i suggested we just stop by our casa and grab some blankets and go to the beach.

we went to the beach where i explained to the ugly friend that i didn’t want to session with her but we should let our friends have their fun. the funny thing is tad’s girl tried giving me a note with her full name, address, phone number, etc. i asked her why i needed this since she was tad’s girl. it was clear that she wanted to start some sort of long distance relationship with a tourist. the ugly girl was very offended that i shunned her. she wouldn’t even get out of the car. there was no way in hell i was going to wait 1 hour or more in the car so i grabbed my blanket and layed it on the beach and rested while tad and his girl had their fun.

it was funny because tad’s girl came over to me at first. i told her to go back over to tad. i’m not sure if she thought we were going to both expect action. i couldn’t fall asleep and the sad thing is that the rocky beach didn’t feel much different than my bed in my casa. it was awesome on the beach. it was so dark and the stars were so bright and you could hear the ocean waves crashing on the rocks. i was a real trooper. i waited until tad yelled that he was done. i think we were there at least an hour or so. it was late by the time he was done. maybe 3:30 am.

he called me over and i asked him how it was. at first he said, “not good”. then he explained it was fine but that he couldn’t concentrate. i guess the girl was lactating. she claimed to have a 2 year old but i guess she was still breast feeding. he said at first it was a novelty but it just kept gushing out and i think it freaked him out. he had milk all over him. i was dying laughing. we had to drive the girls back to the ugly girl’s house in trinidad. it was funny because the girl now gave tad the note with her info on it. i wondered to myself how many times she gave out this information. she never asked for any money. tad gave her about $25 and she never even looked at it. she simply said for him to write her and she walked away. we were cracking up the whole way back to la boca. i was calling him the milk man. the first thing tad did when we got back home was take a shower.

The last time I was in the Isla was last March. The crackdown on the island hadn't occurred then. Actually, the whole reason it started was because of the airline hijacking that happened exactly one week after I left. The flight that got hijacked was the exact same one I flew just 7 days previously.

As for the conditions now, I've been in contact with a friend who frequents the island. He's actually there right now. He wrote to me saying that chica's aren't even allowed in casa's unless you're married to them. As Cubanito has mentioned, flights are always full and it is very difficult to obtain a seat on Cubana.

I've already booked my flight to Havana for the end of March, however, I'm undecided whether I'd return to la Isla. I'm hoping "normality" will return soon because I would really enjoy touring the island on one of those rental scooters. Last year, I forgot my drivers license at home, so I was unable to rent anything....other than sweet nubile chicas' <grin>

If I hear anything else, I'll be sure to report. Perhaps El Colorado can add some comments.

I have been to Cuba recently, for the second time in my life. Unfortunatly, I only found this forum after I returned home. But nevertheless, we had great fun there. I went with a friend, but we almost each time had arranged for two single rooms so we would not disturb each other when we brought girls in there. What I had learned from my first trip - although only, to my regret, during the last days of that trip only - is that you can, with a bit of luck, have sex with the room maids or the waitresses in the tourist dollar hotels. Of course it is easy to make contact with them and to chat a bit. In the large hotels, you will always find some that are young and very, very pretty. If you want to do it in the hotel room, I think the girl usually will prefer to do it during or just right after her normal working hours, because if she is seen in the hotel many hours after her working time or if she stays in your room during the whole night, this might get noticed. I was in Varadero in February and it is not that bad...contingent upon your ability to speak Spanish and travel.

There are two close towns available by scooter, Matanzas and Cardenas, full of talent.

I stayed at the Puntarena and for $100 USD a week I rented a scooter. Within a 20 minute drive to Cardenas or a 35 minute trip to Matanzas, you could be within the action.

Cardenas is a small, slum town. The moment you show up there on a scooter in a cafe, you are immediately surounded. Average women from 10 to 20 of them. Ranking from 3 to 8. One time I ran into a rare 10. Average price is $20 USD.

Matanzas is the place to go. Great baseball stadium. Amazing women. The mongering is more subdued but better in terms of talent. Average 7-9.

If you want a nice town with very nice girls, go to Moron. It's on the north-coast. It is also close to Caya Coco, where the most beuatiful beaches are.

There is no action in Cayo Coco, unless you are looking to score with tourists. Cayo Coco is restricted acess, the only Cubans there are the ones working in the hotels. The closest town is Moron, it small, poor dusty town, nothing of interest. Ciego de Avila has some action, but not much. Remeber both of these places a quite small, it is very difficult to keep low profile, everyone know what you are doing.

Brent, price really varies, and I haven't been to Santiago in a couple of years so I can't give you exact numbers as I don't know. I do know that in general they are less cutthroat and businesslike than in Havana, and overall cheaper, often much cheaper. Exact prices depends a lot on your attitude and your spanish speaking ability. If you're marked for a newbie tourist you'll pay premium. Just be able to walk away, there's always more right around the corner.

While this happens in Havana too, in Santiago there's more of the girlfriend thing, whereby they don't ask a specific price and just expect you to buy dinner, maybe a gift or two, and maybe (but not necessarily) give them a few bucks to take home. Some have even gotten insulted when I discussed paying them for sex.

It would do a visitor well to keep that in mind no matter what you may want to believe. And I'm no cynic, but the fact is also that their primary motivation for being with you is money. If you don't speak or understand Spanish, Cuba is the wrong place to set out on your search party. Few speak English, but you would be seriously limiting your market.

Cuba is a very difficult location is establish the type of relationship you're looking for.

I don't understand how some guys can be smart and successful in business, but be so dense when it comes to relationships.

I know a Spanish guy doing business in Cuba. He met a Cubana and she has taken him for a ride. She's tucking cash away for the day when she may book. He doesn't see it and is oblivious to the situation. She's an opportunist, ripping him off. She doesn't love him, she placates him.

She gone from street-walking jinetera with a retail job, to his banker. That's one situation, I know many guys that have taken a stab at jinetera conversions.

All a Cubana can think of when they are with a foreigner, is how much more they can get out of them. Difficult parameters for a relationship. Easier with a Cuban guy who has considerably less. They think you owe them a living, and her mom, dad, sister, brother, prima, ect.

Been to Cuba a couple of times this year. I was very unimpressed with Holguin. It is a much better scene in Santiago. There are so many available women there - I can't stop thinking about that place. The first time I was in Holguin I was there for 4 days at the end of a 2 week trip to Cuba. I had more trouble finding girls there than anywhere else I went in Cuba. The trip after that I flew in and out of Holguin but went to straight to Sangtiago. I had an overnight in Holguin before my flight back and I did meet a very hot 20 y. old - but after my previous experiences I considered that really lucky.

I also went to Camaguey, Trinidad and Cienfuegos. If you have any questions, ask and I'll try to answer next time I check in.

Took a drive out here one day, the place is falling apart!! Stopped of at El Rapido on the Main "Street", it's an outside bar with railings covered in advertising. There was no one there when I arrived, then 3 girls arrived aged 18-20, they asked if I'd buy them a beer (I think they meant one between them!) Anyway I got them a beer each (for $3.00), they asked if I'd any t-shirts and I said I had a few old one's with me and that they could have them.

Eventually much to my surprise they asked if I'd come to their house for dinner. I didn't know if this was permitted but was told it would be no problem. Three years ago ( as of Sept 05) I travelled from Santiago city by Viazul bus ( an airconditioned bus mostly used by tourists and Cubans who receive euros or dollars from their relatives ) to Baracoa.

At car rentals 5$ bribe right away (and promised 10$ after if everything is ok) helped us to secure a sweet deal for three days (price of two), nice new car and good attitude.

3. The road trip (supposed to be 2-3 hours drive) . Oh, man! Getting to Holguin was the sweetest part - nice, wide road, superb view, no traffic. After Holguin it was crap. There is no road signs in suburb Cuba, even with a map we got lost like 5 times. To make the long sory short, 6 (Six!!!!!!!) hours later, after the midnight we arrived to Palma Soriano - a city close to Santiago de Cuba. All we wanted by that time was to sleep and eat. The latter was satisfied checking a bar in the center of the city where I talked to a waiter (Alex) who spoke decent english. He said that there is no action in Santiago de Cuba at this hour and suggested taking his brother to Santiago de Cuba who will show the way and find a girl-friendly place to stay there. The next day Alex promised to come himself and help with girls and sight-seeing.

Sorry for the rant, but I don't like the direction things are heading in and I hope it's just that area or I don't think I'll be back to Cuba after the next trip unless it's with a gf.

The overall athmosphere in Cuba may have changed from the top down in terms of how the authorities view tourists. It's no secret that tourism is not as high an economic priority as it used to be. Thanks in great part to Hugo Chavez and China. They have always preferred that visitors never venture out of varadero so now it's probably open season on your wallet if you do.

That helmet law must be relatively new (maybe 2006) correct. The last time I rented a scooter was when I was in Santiago summer 2005. Shit I was driving that thing with a beer in one hand and a chica in another. What a pain to have to wear one now. Viazul has 4 buses daily between Varadero and Havana. 8am, 12pm, 4pm, I think is what she said on the phone, and 6pm.

Motos are easy to rent in Varadero, but Viazul is more comfortable, and you don't have to pay for the toll road each way. The Matanzas bus station is in a central location, and there are casa rental reps, waiting for potential clients, when the buses arrive.

I've since been back to Holguin once in October 2007, the girls and my bici taxi friend were very wary of the police but we managed to avoid any problems. I'm very aware of how much trouble a Cuban girl would be in if she was caught with me, so the hassle of avoiding the police is for the Cubans benefit not mine. Obviously I want no harm to come to the chica so I play along with the "avoid the cops" game.

I saw and photographed the cops writing tickets and hassling the locals (over what exactly I don't know). Tourists are valuable to the Cuban government and the police look out for our safety, not that Cuba is dangerous, I never feel anything less than very safe while walking the streets of Holguin.

I actually got two tickets in Santa Luicia (10 CUC each) for not wearing my helmet while riding my motor scooter, they had checkpoints setup to get into the resort area and I was stopped and ticketed, police on the street could have cared less if I was wearing the helmet but at the checkpoint it was a different story.

Well I arrived in Holguin Feb 27 after 4 AM because my flight from Toronto was delayed almost 9 hours.

Went looking for a taxi, I found three but 15 people ahead of me were also waiting for one, the Cubans taxi drivers aren't dumb, they picked those passengers going the furthest so I was left behind for about an hour until more taxis arrived.

Now I need a place to stay, my cabbie took me to the two casas I had previously stayed, both occupied, tried another three, also full, cabbie got annoyed and took me to Hotel Pernik and dumped me off, the hotel was booked solid, so I was allowed to grab some sleep in the lobby on a couch, on the two couches nearby I met a couple of other Canadians in the same predicament, after an hour of rest I got another cab and went searching, luckily I got a room and although it wasn't as nice as the places I stayed before at least I could grab shower and some much needed rest.

It rained the first three days I was there and there were few people on the street due to the weather. I had my Cuban friend bring me a chica and we went to an illegal casa for a 2 hour session, the girl was okay, maybe a 7 in looks and about the same in attitude, at least I got some!
The action was slow.

I was with 4 girls total during my stay, the first three were unremarkable but the last chica I was with blew my mind. She was 19 yrs old with a near perfect body, big firm breasts no tatoos and was very much into sex and fucked me silly! I met her in the park after I had declined the services of a different chica my Cuban friend found for me. I have this girls contact info and on my next trip I'll be sure to look her up. Regarding the legal casas, yes its true alot of girls won't go because they don't want to register, but I met enough other mongers that had girls with them in their room to know that it is possible to get chicas to register. If they believe you will continue to see them in the future chances get better at having them stay with you, if they register with more than three different forieigners the police will come looking for them so they don't want to register if they expect only a night from you. I have a novia in Camaguey that WILL stay with me in my casa, I've spent my past two visits to Camaguey with her exclusively so she has no problem registering.

I found that certain gifts go further than cash, especially with my long term chica. For example a dvd player that cost me $30 is worth more than a $100 to her so I don't give her much cash, any cash is given at the end of my trip and is never asked for upfront.

I also learned a valuable lesson, I've been a number of times to Holguin but made the mistake this time of paying for my casa up front for my entire stay, then when I found a nicer place I was already committed, I blame this on the fact I was a tad bit desperate and glad to finally locate an available casa after a few failed attempts.

For me, the hassle of Cuba is well worth the reward, yes there definitely are hassles in Cuba but the chicas are so hot and give total GFE that its worth it. I have never experienced such pleasure with women as I do in Cuba, so for me everything else is secondary.

As far as I'm concerened Cuba is still an excellent mongering destination, remember that it is a third world country and accomodations/living conditions are nowhere near what one is accustomed to in the first world. With that in mind you should be able to fully enjoy Cuba.

Heading to Cuba in April/May for about a month. Have spend all my previous time in Cuba exclusively in Havana with small trips around the western half of the Island (PDR, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, Matanzas, Sancti Spiritus etc). This time I am planning to take about a week out of my calendar, rent a car and drive east.

So, I will naturally be interested in a little adventure on the road. I speak decent spanish and am always looking for non-pro, young girls. Have little interest in paying.

anywhwere from 20 to 50 CUC. ST only. Holguin seems to have the beiggest police presence next to Havana. You will have to use illegal casas, all legal ones want the sign in and it is enforced. Chicas will not sign in. Three casas and you get a visit from the police. Add another 5-20. My buddy was there last week and he said it was dead there, no chicas around. Try Camaguey, Las tunas or Santiago.

This is my much delayed report on my 2 week trip in March/April. This is the continuation following the account in the Havana section.

Day 4 - Arrived in Santa Clara later than expected but not sure why, as Viazul was on time. Anyway, my casa rep met me to say he had been asked to pick me up. I got to the casa, which was pretty central. By the time I got myself settled and had a look around it was easily 3pm. There were plenty of people about but no chicas. I had made it a point to confirm with the casa owner and got reassurances that chicas were fine as long as they registered. Or so, this is what I understood. Anyway, I decided to find some lunch but ended up in a rip off joint which was good food, nevertheless.

After a little rest, I ventured out in the early evening. I hit a few of the bars that were open around the main shopping boulevard. Still no chicks. I asked a few taxistas etc. who assured me that there would be chicks in the main square later. I sat in the main square for a while around 7pm. He told me there would be chicks in the main square late on. Also, this must be when we discussed that he would be able to arrange some women for the next day.

After killing a bit of time, I went to the main square again. I think it was quite late, about 11pm. BTW - you don't have to pay them more (30 went to 40) because of the hassle factor. They are used to the hassle factor. This BS running around happens all the time in Cuba.

Great Report. There is alot of game in Santa Clara, but you need to speak the language. The spot to get girls is on the autopista right by the gas station. There is this little disco next to the gas station. I have always had success in this disco. I have attach pic of Girls that I have met at this disco.

If anything, you need a car for logistics. It's hard to get a transport to the campo.

As for the question "Does a car give better mongering results in the big city? " My answer is NO. I found a car a hindrance to mongering in Holguin and Bayamo and most other mid-sized cities.

I had a car when in Holguin and Bayamo and found it a hindrance to mongering in the central areas (around the three central parques). I parked the car and went on foot in order to strike up conversations with the ladies in the park and the pedestrian mall. This worked well for me.

I did cruise around the non-central areas of Holguin and gave rides to many attractive hitchhikers. I asked many out. I said "Hey let's go get a drink somewhere" One very attractive girl did give me her phone number. I never called her, because I have very little confidence in arranging future dates with latinas.

Future Hookups:

Getting a number for a later meeting has proved frustrating and bore little fruit. My results have been either: not able to connect with them, no-shows or no-sex. The exception is: I have already had a good lengthy conversation with her, and she shows some romantic/physical interest (I. E. Their is chemistry)

I am curious if there are "tons" of older foreigners with young cuban prostitutes on their arms. I travelled all over the island from the Oriente to the Occidente. I rarely saw an older foreigner with a young cubana.

Perhaps this can be seen in Guardalavaca. Or maybe the quoted people were seeing a few of these inicidents and complaining they saw "tons" of it.

I was thinking of going to the DR but then saw a cheap sell off to Club amigo and the reports of many chicas with foreigners. So I think I will have to check it out? Worst case is I will have to go into Holguin and enlist the help of some cuban guy to get me some hot chicas.

I was in the city, I hardly saw other tourists, I did meet one other hobbyist, from Canada like me, he was in his mid fifties, I'm in my early forties.

The only place I've seen old guys with young girls was in Santa Lucia on a remote beach where there were old Europens and the young cuban girls they were with were dancers from the cabaret show.

I've been reading about how difficult it is to meet/get the local non-pro girls, I haven't had problems, in Holguin there were zero pro's walking the streets, it was all non-pro's and most of the time I got what I wanted, only a couple of girls declined being with me, say 2 out of 12 times trying.

Yes, cuba has some hassles, but I've been 6 times in the last 18 months and had more pussy than I could handle each trip.

The more I visit, the more I learn and make new acquiantances that help me meet new girls.

I've thought about going to the Dominican, but from the photos I've seen the girls are mainly dark, I like the light skinned girls, and they are plentiful in Cuba.

Wether or not you can find cheaper prices for pros in Guardalavaca remains to be seen (see my latest post in the havana forum).

I hope that Guardalavaca is the "Shangri-La of Mongering" that many of us Cubaphiles have been searching for. a place with plentiful cheap pros.

Yes I will definately add a report when I get back. I am looking forward to it. I have been to Cuba many times from the mid 90's. I miss the old days when the girls were throwing themselves at you for next to nothing. I did spend a week near Santiago a few years ago and had a great time in the casa particulars in Santiago. I took a roadtrip to Holguin and was amazed at the beauty of the girls there. So now it is time to go back now that I see reports of girls in the tourist hotels there. And I can't beat the price so even if the girls end up costing a bit and I have to get a casa it is well worth it. Would be great to hear from other mongers before I go so I have an idea of the pricing before I go.

If I were doing your trip, not knowing the supply in Guardalavaca, I would stop in holguin first to get a chica to import to Guardalavaca. However, your approach would work as well.

Dont know what kinda news you are looking for, but the big news right now is the aftermath of hurricanes Gustav and Ike which both hit La Isla. Along with Pinar del Rio, these are the provinces of Cuba that has taken the worst damage.

I don't know if you wanna monger amidst the rubles of about 10,000 houses that have been destroyed there...

Hell, if you are really cynical, one could argue that they need money more than ever down there...

The AI's are about an hour away, at Marea del Portillo (near Pilon). Went there in 2001. Rented a scooter and had no problems. The hurricane did not hit this area.
