Here is my report to BC from the night of March 19th to the afternoon of the 25th. I am a 6’3” light skinned black guy from Brooklyn, NY, about 235lbs and relatively good looking IMO.

3/19 Went from JFK to SDQ on the 19th of March. The flight was scheduled for 5p but we ended up departing at 6:30. This flight out of JFK is usually late especially on Friday. On board, I really did not know what to expect. There was a Dominican baseball team on board and they were really getting loud and drinking etc. No problem because they were a happy bunch but it was a stark contrast to the Asia flights where everyone is real quiet and subdued. This would be a bit of a hint to the differences in cultures. When we landed everyone clapped (I was prepared for this thanks to the forum). So I exit and go through immigration immediately because I only had carry on. I immediately felt a bit uncomfortable. I just started to grasp the fact that I had no Spanish and I am on their turf now. Suddenly I was at a disadvantage for the first time in my life regarding communication. Even in Thailand, they may not speak English but most can understand you at least or you can find someone who does, signs in English etc. So I go through immigration and get the tip attempt at customs to which I said, “don’t understand” and gave them a blank stare. It worked because they waved me on after 2 tries. When I get outside I am immediately horded by offers for taxis. I am talking like 20 or so guys coming at me. I just continue on like I have a car in the parking lot. One guy follows me though as I sit down to have a ciggy. I told him I would pay 200 pesos after he tried 1000 with me. We eventually agree on 400. I can’t believe I held my ground because I was very nervous. As we drive into BC I notice that the DR is a bit more 3rd world than TL and I couldn’t help but think that I had really messed up on this trip. We get to BC and I had the driver drop me at the Hamaca resort. I noticed the casino and sat down for a while in the lobby to let the taxi guy take off. I went outside and down toward what I would later find out was the way to the main strip but I made the mistake of telling a shoeshine boy that he could follow me and do my shoes after I got to my hotel. He claimed he knew where the Costalunga was but he did not and led me the other way. Meanwhile like 8 of his buddies followed me, like the pied piper. I told the one boy to tell them to back off or no one gets any biz. He manages to get them all off except one. Meanwhile this other guy in this pumped up civic starts driving around following me asking to be my guide. I ignore him but I have 2 kids and this guy in the car following me. I decide to walk with my bag and wait until they got the message. They never did. I walk to the far side of the Hamaca resort and down the road to a small hotel. I kind of wanted to do a hotel search because you always get better bargains when you put down some shoe leather. I ended up at this quaint little hotel called the Refugio. I still had my followers and after the guard woke up the manager I got a room for $35. I probably paid a little over the going rate because the guy in the car immediately jumps out and begins to talk to the manager the minute she shows up. Anyway the room had a garden view about I floor up on the pool level with a safe, 13 inch TV with cable and pretty spacious with aircon, bathroom with hot water and closet. I set out for my night and just decide to let this guy in the car drive me around for an hour and show me the spots and then I would get rid of him. The two shine boys hopped in back and we ended up at a gas station for a snack and to finally get my shine. I give both boys 20 pesos and we leave them at the station. The guy tells me he speaks English because he is a baseball player and has been to camp in Arizona. He looked about 20. We go to this first stop where there is a house and it seems pretty quiet. We enter the house after he checks inside presumably to get the girls up. It is about 11p at this point. I walk in and there are about 7 girls and the manager who is a built dude who looks like he played ball too. Most of the girls look tired but 2 take to me. One is really attractive but IMO just bordering the 18-year mark. The other girl is cute but not my type and about 21 or so. The cutie was brown skinned and about 5’6”. The other girl is really dark, probably Haitian but still a little cute except for the weave. I left the US to get away from the weave so she had no chance. I have a beer with the cutie and they pull out the price booklet. I look inside and let out a laugh and everyone looks a bit concerned. I know from this forum that I can get the same quality for much cheaper. It was $50 short time and $80 all night. Whatever! I finish my beer and tell the cute chica she is cute but I have to move on. So we go. I can tell my guide is agitated. I did not help any by telling him I am using him to show me the places and I am not going to pick while I was with him. I am going to sleep alone tonight (complete lie). So he shows me another place anyway. It is up a hill on a street and the place is up some stairs. We go in and it is set up like a strip joint but only one girl is dancing. She has an amazing rump though. There is a bar to the left and some rooms behind that I presume. The pole and “stage” are directly in front of the door. Next to and across from the bar are couches with a few girls on them and some girls milling about. I would say quality ranged from 3-7. I was not impressed but stayed and had a beer anyway while my guide stood out side talking. The guys running this place seemed a bit gangster. So I stay for a beer and tell the guide I want to see the main thoroughfare Calle Duarte or something like that. So he rides as close as he to the strip and I see the street is closed to traffic. I am at this point very unimpressed with Boca Chica. I tell my guide look I am going to the hotel to sleep (bordering on the truth now) and he can drop me there. He tries to charge me 700 pesos for about one hour of driving! I was like hold up man I said 500. He is quiet. I say ok 600 and paid him and hopped out at my hotel. That would be one of the 2 times I would be jerked around in the DR. So I went to my room and tried to regroup. I did see some things walking around on the street while I was with my guide and I knew where the main strip was so I planned to go back out and try again with that. I arranged everything in the safe and put the night’s money in my pocket. Back out I go. I tip the night guard 100 pesos, because at this point I don’t want anyone saying shit to me when I come back to the room with a girl. So I walk up the street past the Hamaca and finally on to the main strip. Um what the F is this? This has got to be a joke, a real cruel one. Did the forum dedicate a whole thread on this place? What am I missing? I guess Thailand built my expectations up to a let down. I trudge on anyway and have a seat at this bar across from the main disso in town, Cosmos. Immediately the resident drag queen (the only one I would knowingly see in BC) and her ugly ass friend start pestering me for drinks. The girl has a cute little frame on her but she is dreadfully ugly. No beers for them, sorry. This cute chica sitting outside of the club motions me over so I go. She starts talking to me in almost perfect English but she is too skilled at that and negotiations which start out at 2k all night. I get her down to 1.5k but this other less attractive girl is flirting with me but something about her I like. No English but she wants to be with me I can tell. The cuter girl is trying to get my attention and I am determined to let this play out to my advantage. I have a few days here and nothing done in haste ever works out for me. I tell both of them I am going in the disco and whoever follows me in the fastest can continue negotiations. I was just a bit nervous sitting outside. I go in the Cosmos disco and I feel a little more comfortable. The less attractive girl comes into the club and immediately comes up to me and hugs me and I am like F it lets go hotel. She says ok and we go. I spent about 3 minutes in the disco. We kiss a few times on the street on the way while we are walking. I walk in order to give her a chance to show me something that will indicate a bad decision but she is good all the way back to the hotel. We get back to the hotel and like most DR girls and unlike Thai girls, she strips naked and gets in bed. I do the same and we do the dirty. It was ok, mostly because she was a chubby girl and for some reason I like to have sex with girls that have meat on their bones. We are about to fall asleep and she asks for some money to get some food. I don’t have small bills and I am hungry too so I say ok here is 500 pesos but bring me something back too. She says ok and leaves. I fall asleep. She returns about an hour later with NO FOOD. I am too tired to ask why and have sex with her again and we fall asleep…

3/20 I wake up early in the morning and she is still asleep. I figured that she took the 500 pesos and tried her luck at the casino at the Hamaca. Whatever, I am not going to argue about that. I get dressed and make sure all valuables are locked up and I go out to explore. I go past the Hamaca and up the street and make a right and explore the telephone center, the gas station I was at the previous evening and the only Burger King in town. Well, the ONLY American fast food joint in town. I was out about 1 hour and I return to the hotel and the girl is gone! I immediately panic and look around the room to make sure my clothes are still there but everything is in order. Was that just a 500 peso all nighter? I guess it was. Maybe she had somewhere to go. So I set out to explore the rest of the day I go down to the beach and explore there. Mind you, there is NO shortage of people offering me this that and the other. It was a whole adventure just turning all of them down. It gets tired after awhile. I went back to Burger King and ate lunch there and did more walking around and then I figured I had seen all Boca Chica had to offer. What the hell? I was not ready for such a small scene where the whole town basically knows you after a day or two. I go back to the room and watch TV and lounge around until the nighttime. At about 11pm I want to hit the disco but I remember someone saying something about the park and there is action there sometimes. On my way to the park I run into this cutie who is on her way home but is going to be at the disco later. Her name is Yogicenta. Brown skinned, nice tight body and amazingly cute, about a solid 9. I say hopefully I will see her at the disco later. I get to the park. Well, like everything else about BC the park is small. I see two girls under a tree (it is raining slightly) and they call me over. Both are doable but I ask their age and they are both conveniently 21 and they don’t look that old (that is why I asked in the first place). 19 would have been a better answer so I decide to pass though I wanted to bone one of them really bad. She looked like one of those hot little ghetto girls back around my hood who are too fast (and young) for me to catch up with. So I see this other leggy girl who is about 5’9” and dark skinned, I already pegged her for Haitian. She was and we converse in my limited French. She has these sunglasses on and she looks ok, about a 7, 25 or so years old. We strike a deal and head back to the room, 1500 all night. She slowly strips and I am like come here let me help and she is really against it for some reason. I kind of insist and she has a bit of a child gut and stretch marks. I was like oh man. After she took her sunglasses off I was left with a 5 at best. DAMN. Well we are here and my dick is hard so… We ended up with a pretty good session definitely with the lights OFF. She could fuck that much I will say. We were finished and she wants to go back to the disco. So we go and enter at about 12p. It is just starting to fill up. At about 1p it is in full swing and all I could say is “travel, you PLAYED yourself”. There were some totally hot chicas in there and I am stuck with this 5 all night. Jeez travel… To make it worse who comes up to me while 5 is in the bathroom and says right in my face, “hey remember me YOGICENTA!” and storms off. GODDAMMIT! The 5 sees this on the way back from the bathroom and sheepishly smiles. She knows she got me. She got me good too. I am making eye contact and shit with other girls and I can’t help but think I am going about this all wrong. I am an experienced monger playing myself totally out. Meanwhile this 40ish woman is dancing around one of the poles in the disco acting like she is 18 or something. Then she goes to the bathroom and promptly gets into a fight! Security hauled her out in a mean headlock. 10 minutes later she finds her way back in! WTF? She fights again and the 5 and me decide to exit the club. We go out side where the police show up, spray her with pepper spray and since it is raining it blows back on the crowd and we all start choking. They finally escort her away. They take her toward the far end of the strip (where the Italian restaurants are) and she gets into it with the police. This riles up the motocochos and they start in on something. Next thing I know more police come in and they just start shooting in the air. What travel, what have you gotten yourself into this time? Man oh man this is not working out. We end up getting a moto back to the hotel and the moto guy tries to get 200 pesos. He is very adamant but thankfully the girl gives him fifty and calls the security guy over and the moto leaves. I get back to the room and we fuck again but more out of my frustration than wanting to. We sleep and at 7 in the morning I feel her open my eyelid. She has to leave. Ok fine but I need to exchange peso. So we walk to the exchange place and I exchange and get rid of her. I go back to the room similar to a dog walking back to his home with his tail in between his legs after an all out fight with a pit bull. I am not feeling my vacation so far. I sleep and decide to head out later at night. (more later, it gets better)

i sleep for about an hour or so and decide to check out the hamaca. i go inside and talk to a security guy i had asked a question to earlier in the trip. i say hey can i get a good breakfast here? he says yes. go across the street. i go and the security guys are like where is your band? i say the security guy john said to come here for breakfast. the security guy at the restaurant says ok but when you finish come see me. i go into the restaurant and see that it is the all inclusive buffet. i smell something fish but i am going to take advantage of this regardless and just handle whatever after. i eat myself silly. some people pay 100 dollars a day for the room and all inclusive from what i understand and the buffet does not warrant that price but still i eat everything i can stuff in my mouth and flirt with the female staff much to the chagrin of the paying guests who notice i am void of a band.

so i head out and the security guy is like go across to the main building and see jose. i do and hose then takes me on the package deal tour. he shows me everything, takes me to the rooms and then talks package price. you buy a certain amount of weeks and the cost goes lower and lower. i think he showed me 40 weeks with each day being about 15 dollars all inclusive of buffet and other stuff. they have five properties in the dr and other properties outside where you pay an extra fee. not bad but i never give into a pressure sale. i say can i go home and think about it and then all of a sudden the price was gonna change if not now. well guys, thanks for the breakfast and the coke but i will pass. now if i had the 3 grand they were asking just lying around i may have considered it but something just did not add up. so i go back to the room and watch a lot of tv.

i go back out at about 3 and while on calle duarte, i run into this guy while making that parrot or whatever it is they have on display just after the italian restaurants say “hello” he comes to me as my “amigo” and says he used to live in the bronx. he has a beach chair and wants me to hang out at his tables. i go over to the beach with him and he says he has nice pina coladas etc. i order one and he immediately starts the i want to be your tour guide thing. i start to smell a rat. i turn the convo back to his time in ny and he says he was there for about 7 years and he had to leave because of an immigration violation. i guess he is png because he said he was working on going back but it was not going to happen any time soon. he pesters me for a drink and i am almost finished with my colada so i say maybe later but can i come back for some food? he says yes we have everything. i want dominican food and he says yes i have that. i say how much for the pina colada? he says 250 pesos. wtf? c’mon dude… he says yes good price. i say fuck it no more friends here in the dr and pay him and decide to put my “bad ass motherfucker mode to on”. no more shit from any one fuck that. i am starting to get a little pissed off.

i go back to the park and sit around and just relax. i have not done that yet and not being much of a beach person this is the only place i can watch the goings on in the “center” of town and relax. i see a lot happening in the park from expats just hanging out to schoolchildren using this as their meeting place. people catching the gua gua to sd and yes the hookers, none of which said anything to me. i was ok with that i just wanted to relax. i end up walking up the road the gua gua travels on back from the park and notice the fish vendors. the food smells good but damn, where is it from and how long has it been out there? they wave me over when i look curious but i decide to pass. back to the hotel.

i stay there until about 9 then head out for dinner. i go to italy italy and order chicken parm which they don’t have on the menu and ended up getting a close rendition but it was not breaded. still it was good for a slap together job. i notice this other black guy, obviously from the states in the restaurant and call him over. i find out he is from jersey and i tell him i am sick of hanging solo and could we monger together? he is kool with that. then one of the many blackouts hit. they have rolling blackouts in the dr and it kind of makes it more adventurous. the blackouts are crazy and shit lasting sometimes for hours. the semi upscale and upscale places have a generator but other places start burning candles. my new buddy says he has a kool hotel. i say hey have you seen the hamaca. he said no i have not gone past this strip. i say let me show you the hamaca and show you my hotel so you have an idea of what you can get for the same money you are paying.

we walk to the hamaca and just before there is this store with apartments behind. the store sells paintings. there was this cute dark skinned chica standing in front and we make eye contact and i get aggressive, walk over and put my arm around her and try to converse. this older 40 year old friend of hers then tries to help translate. in the middle of translation and negotiation she says look, first of all i need to go to sd tomorrow and you have to give me 20 dollars so i can go then we will negotiate. what? how bout this senorita, how bout you get your ass away from me? how bout them apples? she did not move so i pull the cute chica away and we strike a deal to meet her back at this place at 1 am. i want to go to the disco first and show my new buddy my hotel. we agree on 1200 pesos all night. the chica is about 5’6”, hair down to her shoulders (hers) and a bangin ass body. i struck a pretty good deal by holding my ground. i am starting to learn the ropes here.

so my friend and i continue on to the hamaca and walk the casino then on to my hotel. he is pretty impressed with the hotel and this side of bc. we get outside the hotel and this really cute chica is walking by. stepping up seems to be the way so i immediately say “hola, como te llama?” she responds “glenny”. i say “muy bonita!” she smiles and that is the extent of my spanish. so i get the manager woman to tell this girl i want her to come back tomorrow at 12 noon. she does this for me and i strike another deal. travel is on the horse finally. there was something different about this girl, something i can’t quite put my finger on.

my new friend and i then head back to the strip. we run into his friend another cat from jersey. the girls love this guy he is young, tall and slender and i guess real good looking. he is clueless in the game though. with some monger knowledge and some spanish he could be dangerous out there. as it was he was taking 5’s and 6’s back to the room. i try to impart some knowledge but he is happy doing what he does so i let him do him. we hang out for awhile and go to the disco. 1am hits and i remember my appointment. i go back to the painting store which is now closed and don’t see her. i then venture back to the apartment area and see a bar and walk up and she is there downing some drinks. i am like take your time honey, get nice and plastered.

we leave and go to the hotel. i strip her down (i love unhooking the bra and slowly peeling off da panties) and i am left with a real nice body. standing in front of me naked i give her a solid 7. she was cute but not overly. so we do the dirty. it was pretty damn good i must say. she did work on top and i hit it from the side and doggy. she was loud though and the quaint little hotel situation worried me. i was not about to tell her to quiet down, if needed management would just have to have a beef. she came twice once by penetration and once by the stinky finger. she goes ho ho ho really loud when she comes. i love to hear a woman in ecstasy.

we sleep until the morning and wake up at about 10. we woke up cause her stupid drunk ass 40 year old friend was at the door! what? i look out the front door and am like she has got to be kidding. i close the curtain and put the clasp on and ignore her. the girl in bed stirs and says who? i say no body do not go near that door and i physically keep her in bed. her friend gets the message after a few minutes of knocking. we frolic some more and she gives me a great blow job. i really wanted to come in her mouth. i mean she was really steaming my rod. just before the volcano erupted and i spewed the hot lava she let up and just in time too. she looked at me like yeah, nice try. damn that was great.

we lounge around a little and then oh shit i have an appointment at noon. i jump up, hand her her clothes give her 1500 for good performance and hustle her out. this was at 11:30 am. the maid then came and i will be damned if the maid was not fine as shit. about 18 with one bambino and really cute. i am starting to notice how to tell the hardened hookers from the regular girls by the look on their faces. it shows what they have been through. i offer her a cervezas but she aint hearin it! then, just as planned glenny shows up at 12pm looking real cute. the maid sees this and finishes up quick time and hustles out closing the curtain and the door. she knows what is about to happen… (more later)

so i am in the room with glenny. she is really cute about neck length hair (pulled back into a cute little bun), golden brown skin, 5’5”, about 125 pounds with some ample and full b cups in the chest area. she has a really soft look on her face and i remember saying to myself she did not seem like one of those hardened calle duarte women. she speaks no english though or very little so we try to converse as best we can. i find out she was walking home from another hotel down the road where she works when i met her last night. she has one son whom she had about 6 months ago and she lives in town with a roommate. i find out she is 18 years old. she did look pretty young so i check her cedula (i.d.) and i confirm her age.

so i decide i want to meet her son. mistake number two. we leave the hotel and take a moto about a half-mile to her neighborhood. it is down that road to the costalunga and then off to some side roads and eventually a dirt road. this is my first visit to the “vecinidad” (neighborhood). i notice kids running around along with chickens and lots of activity. she lives in one of the many little houses with a corrugated tin roof and very creative paint on the outside of the house. we go in and there are two young haitian kids about and her housemate who is haitian also. i meet her housemate and glenny’s son and settle down for about an hour in the living room. they are really poor out here. so after a little broken conversation we decide to go back to the hotel. we take her son with us, mistake number three. we hop a moto back to the hotel and i turn the couch around so it faces the wall as sort of a crib for her son. what is that smell? oh no, her son needs [CodeWord131] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord131)! on the way to the store whom do i run into but they guy from the bronx with the beach chairs who overcharged me for the pina colada. he runs up to me as if he saw me all the way from the beach as i am on the other side of the road. he says, “hey what happened you were supposed to come back for dinner?”. i don’t even break stride and tell him “sorry i have somewhere to go, i will talk to you later”. he says “you were supposed to come back i had dinner ready, you owe me money”. ??? ?excuse me? ?perdon? i double back and say, “listen i said i might come back, it was totally up to me to come back or not so i don’t owe you anything. i tried to be nice to you and you take me for a fool so nice meeting you”. i turn around and continue on to the store thinking there is no shortage of bullshit in this fucking town, no shortage at all… if he would have followed me and tapped me on the shoulder or something i am quite sure i would have done the very wrong thing and punched him dead in the face. i would have given it my all too…

so i go to the store for some size fours and on the way back pick up some of that fish from the vendors on the street the gua gua travels that goes to santo domingo. i get back with beers [CodeWord131] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord131) and the food, which she wolfs down. i get bold and taste the pescado (fish) and plantain and it was pretty damn tasty! a whole fried fish and fried plantain with ketchup on the side for 80 pesos. not bad at all. she changes her son and we sit around a little bit. i am now thinking i am going to make this a long term effort maybe spending the rest of my vacation with this cutie and just doing the girlfriend experience. little did i know she had other plans. my guess is she has taken me for a complete sucker because i put out a lot of effort and bought things without even stating my case. after we sit around for about an hour she tells me she is leaving and she needs money. oh no, my worst fears confirmed, i am playing myself again. ok travel, you can take the [CodeWord131] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord131) and the food as a loss (500 pesos) but i will be damned if i am giving her money. badass motherfucker mode back to on and i break that particular switch so it is permanently in the on position. it should have been on from the beginning of this trip. i say, “you need money huh?” and look her in the eye and start unbuttoning her button down shirt until i expose her braless boobies. she has a really nice perky set. her son has not taken full advantage of these beauties because they stand up beautifully with no sag or stretch marks, perfect areolas and fullness. she looks at me with this weird look as i stand up, strip naked and come back to the bed. she looks a bit shocked while i peel the rest of her clothes off. she does not stop me physically however. i look at her with only her panties on and am determined to bag this up. she is a solid 8 at this point, maybe 8 and ½. i produce a condom slowly guide her down to the bed and kiss her to which she surprisingly responds. i put the condom on and before i loose my erection bypass the panties by pulling them to the side and really go at it with her. i only did missionary but i definitely enjoyed it i am sure more than she. i really pounded her, it was a revenge on boca chica fuck. i was pretty quick with this one because the situation was still pretty awkward and i knew i would loose the mood if i tried to switch positions. i grabbed a handful of her hair as i came. damn travel, what is this place turning you into? lol her son was asleep in the corner on the couch throughout all of this. that creeped me out a bit.

Just back from BC and must report nonstop action. 8 days and I was dragging it. Great restaurants and beachs with locals as friendly as can expect with the exception of a few Hattians who try to hassle you. I found the best action from gals at the message or casas just outside Duarte. The lookers around Duarte serviced like a car wash. I had my worse experience from two gals who tried to get more money out of me after paying them the agreed upon amount. Service was poor and they tried to bar me from leaving the room of some cheap Duarte hotel. Since I am the size of a NFL lineman they had little choice. I told them to call the police or accept on the price we agreed upon. the guys that run those bars, pimps, on Duarte have a poor operation. I recommend you get your action off the street and take it to your hotel. My best piece of the week was across from El Candil Hotel (message parlor). Service included every thing except CIM. When I get a chance I will post a pic or two of my favorite Lisa.

This is my first trip to the DR (Boca Chica). I’ve been hearing about the fun that guys were having so I decided to experience for myself. As soon as we touched down at 10:30 am me and the four others that I were traveling with were like “IT’S ON”! Only one of the five traveling has been here before so he got us though SDQ fairly smoothly. I didn’t experience customs requesting tips or anything. We were the first five out of 10 gents to arrive. Another buddy who was to come in from ATL has been there numerous amount of times. He had a person name Gabriel come pick us up from the airport. Gabriel seemed real cool. He negotiated with a few different taxi driver until he got a decent price 600RD between 5 people. So then we got in the taxi and off to the hotel we go. When we get to the hotel we are staying at (Costalunga) we see a chica standing out front by herself. She was maybe a 5 in my book. She flirts with us as we get out the taxi. We are at the front desk for about 15 mins getting the room situated. Once that is done we all put out bags up and our valuables away and meet each other in the front to start out day. We walk to the street right next to the hotel, down a hill about 3 blocks and we are on the strip. We go into a decent restaurant and order the lungusa (lobster). This argument comes up frequently on many boards and many idiots like DS & Mikster wrongly claim that just because someone has paid X that the next time they visit they will be expected to also pay X but no one has ever shown or proved to me yet that this is how prices are hiked. I base this on that fact that in Asia when you have places that are frequented by a mixture of clientele, Europeans, Japanese and American that just because some Japanese will pay double the price of say others based on the fact that in Tokyo a quickly BJ bar costs 10,000 Yen (87U$) and to them 50U$ is cheap, whilst to an American on a budget tour this is still double the price of the normal rate.

Whilst some girls may hold out to find someone to pay these prices again – the following night, what you should remember is that in most cases it’s a buyers market i.e. there are more girls selling themselves than guys buying, therefore if the girl wants to eat the following day she will naturally drop her price to an equilibrium of what the market will support unless she can find someone to pay this rate. So in layman’s terms this means that with a slight hiccup in the price the market will still remain at a constant level.

However, supporting what I have said if you go back to some of the older posts and check out the prices you will see that in places like Brazil, Thailand & Philippines over the last four years prices have remained at a constant level. In Europe with the introduction of the Euro it has clouded the issue but generally the prices have not risen significantly. Please don’t confuse this with the fact that semi-pros (regular girls, who dip in and out of prostitution) will only be tempted if the price & guy is right, other than that regulars pros do not automatically put up their prices because they’ve heard some other girl is make twice or three times the amount they earn. The power generating capacity of the non-bankrupt power companies in the DR is about 50-60% of demand and as such they are doing rolling blackouts country wide- as much as 12 hours a day.

Stay at a good hotel with a good generator and carry a flashlight ( I recommend the LED ones for brightness and battery life) and it is just like Boca Chica was when I first went there in 1998, power for 4 hours in a row, tops. And it is so costly sometimes you will see Hamaca Resort in BC running diesel even when the power is on the grid.

On a moonless night it is so dark you cannot see 10 feet ahead of you on the streets - point the light AT cars and motos coming at you as you walk.

For me it is a big shithole. The girls are mostly ugly and thieves. If you take one to your room do not trust her. Always settle the price clearly before. If they want more just throw them out even if you need some violence. They try to cheat you and not vice versa! They are only worth to be treated as cheap *****s. That is my opinion about the *****s in BC and normally i have the principle ¨treat them good and they treat you good¨ but here you have to act different unless you want to be fooled. Tomorrow we move on to Sosua and if the DR wants to see me again i hope it is better there. More reports to follow.

I digressed from my report.

Met Yojanna at Cosmos. She was wearing a cream colored tight outfit, and looked great. Made eye contact, bought the first beer, and we talked and danced for a few hours. Trolling the strip as usual,and end up at Cosmos (surprise!). No Yojanna, so I start looking around again. get up the next morning and i am exhausted again. my legs are killing me, and not from walking, and my lower back is tired. roll down to playa vista for some food and water and decide to get a massage and pedicure on the beach after swimming in the cove for a while. if you have never done the massage and pedicure, i would highly recommend it. the women (who are licensed vendors ,i guess) are very good, and give a great leg massage. i felt 200% better afterwards,and my toes were quite pretty to boot! still are , as a matter of fact. anyway, called candy's number ,but only got voice mail. so i left a message telling her where i would be and wrote it off. didn't expect her to answer anyway.

I deleted my overpay tirade to post this question... At what point do the offers become insulting to the girls? I have noticed,from experience and RTTF ,that haggling to a bare minimum will cheapen the price AND possibly cheapen the experience, leading to thieving, at worst, and terrible performance at best. I offer this up in contrast to postings about 1000 tln and 400 quickies.

Unless these girls are beauty challenged, or young, you are not getting a chica from SD for those prices. I am saying SD chicas because the hotties at the discos are coming in from SD for the tourists.I know they make squat at a normal job, and it is their choice. I want to have a worry free encounter,and maybe relationship while I am there, so I go for quality rather than quantity. Check Ford's posts in the SD forum, and you will see much higher prices than are ever quoted here, and there, but which I think is the price you pay for quality.

Kuranyi might have been a victim of this low cost/bad service circle. If you apply this to everyday life, why low ball some repairman for work who than out of spite gives you subpar performance?You know it happens, and if you are lowballing the chicas, they ,perhaps rightly, decide that you have no respect for them as a woman, which is the LAST thing you want to convey to a Latina.

For me the "what you pay is what you get" rule is wrong. In Sosua I even tried a 1500 Peso puta and the sex with her was bad. Nearly all the girls in the disco classico ask for more than 1000 Peso. The best sex I had in DR was with an 18 year old girl I met on the beach. She even did a CIM and swallowed every drop without asking. I told her upfront that I do not pay more than 500 Peso for ST and she was cool with it. I think she was more searching a boyfriend than ST.

I find no correlation between price and performance, slight correlation between price and looks and great correlation between price and "hardcore chicas"... These are the ones I find that wont budge off of an outrageous price (outrageous being more than 2k pesos a night). They also are the ones who routinely have men sending them money and have been on the game for awhile. Those are the chicas I am trying to avoid. Just like anywhere the "Jennifer Lopezs' " of the world will get top dollar cause they can, have attitude cause they can and will treat you like shit (if they want to) cause they can... I like the newer to the scene chicas about a 7-8 on the scale who genuinely like me. Does that mean it is not an act? NO! But it does mean I have the attraction working for me along with my money.

I don't just "point and click" chicas, I take time to suss what their real personality is about or as much as I can suss that out. I spend time conversating and one thing I learned in Thailand is... Before you leave with a woman especially if you are in an enclosed situation (bar, club), make a move for a french kiss before you go home with her. If she frenches you with passion, well you have a great chance of that female being a bombshell in bed! Even if she is only an 8 and is not good in bed, having a nice woman who likes me enough to french me passionately 30 minutes after I meet her is worth the risk!

I thought I have paid some very good prices on my virgin trip but there are others who speak Spanish and have done the BC scene years before I have and paid 400 peso for the same woman I paid 1000 short time. We all have our tolerances and act accordingly... I have never had a 10 on the scale in any of my trips to anywhere (well, maybe Thailand) but I have never paid more than $50 bucks for any one encounter "toda la noche".

Hola Mates,

As you may/or may not have read I "whisked" into Boca Chica this weekend for a few days of fun, and checked out this very, very inexpensive playground. I (unfortunately) didn´'t find the quality to my liking, but I know that there are many members of this board who enjoy the atmosphere and prices of this place and I did my part to keep the prices low.

First of all I would like to give a shout out to board member - RearWindow for his excellent reports and fine information! RW I thoroughly enjoy reading your reports, they are interesting, informative and all around fun to read - great job! I hope that perhaps someday are paths cross and I meet you in person.

Hotel Review -

For the two nights of my stay I was at the El Candil Hotel, and once again I have to give props to RearWindow - he liked this place, recommended it and so do I. It is clean, comfortable and stylish with great security, good food and a small but usable pool.
The owners Giuseppe and Peter speak solid English and seem to be genuinely interested that you are enjoying yourself and are having a good time.

I stayed in a 3rd floor 1 bedroom apartment w/ airconditioning was so powerful that I woke up at about 3am and had to put a jacket on. Too, there was excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower (didn't see that one coming) and a locking gate with a secuirty guard in front posted 24-7.

Guests are eagerly excepted and as a help to there residents the front desk will take the girls cedula and hold it 'till they leave in the morning.

The only thing that surprised me about this place was the large % of regular "normal" (lol) guests who stay here. Before I arrived I kind of expected the "Sosua Palace South", but soon found that probably 2/3's of the residents were families with children splashing around the pool.

I have found in my travels through the years that market prices depend completely and exclusively on the age old "time tested principle" of supply and demand.

As my college economics teacher would say, when there is too much money chasing not enough product - prices go up! When there is too much product chasing not enough money prices go down - way down! Simple as that.

Boca Chica is an excellent example of this time tested axiom. There are simply put way, way, way too many people (men and women) trying to make a living off the tourist trade that walks down Duarte Ave and it results in a poor, depressed community where the buyer and the American dollar are king!!

During the day you as a tourist are approached from every side by mendigos, beggars and assorted street peddlers trying to push every piece of crap you could ever believe, but when the sun goes down the peddlers move outr of the way for the women.

As I walked down Duarte on Saturday Night the place looked like a "flop-house". There had to be 5 or 6 times as many women as tourists and this wasn't early in the evening this had to be around 11:30pm or 12 midnight.

There were women sitting on chairs, sitting on the sidewalk, planted ifo Muchachas Pizzeria, they were lying on walls, walkways and sprawled across benches in the parque. There were women lined up ifo the disco, crowded together ifo the Route 66 pub and crammed in the corridor across from the Bitburger pub - and all of this for a relatively small number of (largely) drunk and disheveled German and American players.

There were so many women with ABSOLUTELY nothing to do that I have to believe that they would consider any offer (reasonable or unreasonable) for a night or a few hours of fun.

I struck up a conversation with a few girls sitting ifo Route 66 and bought them a round of beers. The "gist" of the connection revolved mostly around the fact that they liked my blonde hair - and after two rounds I am convinced that any of these girls would have considered going back to my hotel for whatever I had in my pocket. 7 $... 9$....12$ something like that is what I was expecting to throw on the table for a night of fun, and I'm sure I would have had NO problem.

I, however was "spoken for". Her name is Licole and she is a light- tanned, blonde with a striking body. The ONLY blonde on Duarte last Saturday Night. I met her at the beach early in the morning and had already "spread" her twice. She walked back up the street and motioned that she was in the mood for more fun!

Licole is 20 years old and I met her on the beach ifo the Playa Vista Cantina. She came running up to me and it soon became clear that she was one of those semi-provider, regular chicas who were down at Boca Chica looking for fun.

After a few Presidentes and some cuddling on reclining chairs provided at a nearby restaurant it was back to my room at El Candil for action. After a nearly two hour session that alternated from the bedroom to the sitting room we were both totally spent.

She told me that she had to return to meet with her mother who had been ill in the Capital and she had to "hit" the salon first to beauty up. She didn't ask for anything, but rather asked to make sure that I still would be in Boca Chica when she returned in two days. I crumpled 600 pesos in her hand ($12) as a gift so she could pay for the salon and take the bus to see her mother. At first she seemed confused, but then smiled kissed me and made me promise "No other women 'till I return".

As I said I was surprised to see her walking back down the street only hours later, all "dolled up" and ready to reclaim her man. She told me that she had visited with her mother for three hours but decided to return because she wanted to spend more time with me.

We spent all day Sunday together, Sunday night (had dinner together) and then on to Monday morning and had alot of fun. She was very sad when I told her I had decided to leave prematurely on Monday and return to Santo Domingo. She very much wanted me to return with her and she said "Mi amor, you can meet my mother and sister" but I scrambled for an excuse and told her that I had learned of illness in my family and needed to return home.

I took her number and promised to return to see her again soon. I handed her another 1000 pesos (20$) for a grand total of 30$ for two nights and three days of uninterupted partying.
How did I do? By my calculations that comes out to 10$ a day!
Not bad, eh?

All in all I think I was somewhat jaded by the quality of women in Santo Domingo, so the comparison between the two towns was difficult. Although I left early I can certainly see why many members of this board love this very inexpensive playground! If perhaps there wasn't SO MUCH pressure on tourists all over Duarte St things would have been less tense and more enjoyable.

(The rest of this is for the rest of us) One has to wade thru a seemingly endless gauntlet of sharks, and then thru the part-timers. But every other trip for me, I find one of these diamonds in the rough. And the next thing I know, I am leaving, and hating life because of it.

Boca Chica IS a bit rough, but the supply of chicas is amazing. They are not of the SD casas quality, but you will get girls from SD over for a little tourist fun./dollars. And they are far less caro than the casa girls.

Well day five of my trip was here and I feel like I’ve been here for a month. Doris gets up early and leaves. When I finally get up it was around 10:30 am. I go meet some of the fella’s for breakfast downstairs. We do the usual. Talk about the night before. As we are talking we all come to the same conclusion and that was that we were on this beautiful island with beautiful beaches and water and we haven’t even touched the water yet. So after we eat we decided to go down to the beach and find a place to relax.

So we got dressed for the beach and started walking down. We started at the Hamaca and walked about 2 maybe 3 miles down. It was the weekend so a lot of families for SD were there enjoying the waters. There was tons of good looking ass on the beach. My buddy had brought his trusty video camera along and got a lot of good shots. We ended up turning around and walking back to where we started from. We went back to the hotel and just chilled for a few hours.

I went up to my buddy room who’s chica was there frying some chicken. We sat a chilled there, ate some chicken, smoked a little and of course I had a Presidente. I went back down stairs to catch up with some of the fellas I haven’t seen this today. When I get downstairs Doris was there with her scooter. She came up to me and kissed me. “Hey baby” was my response. She said that she wanted to take me for a ride on the scooter. So I jump on the back and off we go.

First we go through a few back streets and then she took me through the Hamaca. There is this little dirt road all the way at the end of the street. All the way down on the strip (Calle Duarte) and we stopped at this store.

She took my hand and we went inside. When we get inside Doris says something to the lady at the shop and the lady pulls over this chair for me to sit in. Doris tells me that she shops here all the time. Doris picks out this dress and shows it to me on a hanger. She asks me if I like it for her. I said it looks OK. So she tries it on and then lets me see it on her. Damn, that dress went from OK to beautiful. She tried on about 5 or 6 more dresses that look stunning on her.

She told the lady that she will take all 6 or 7 of the dresses. I was like damn, she must be making good money at her hair salon. The lady rang it up and it came up to about $210 US. Then the lady looked at me and said do I want to pay cash. My eyes opened wide and I bust out laughing. This sucker move was so obvious that the woman who rang up the merchandise started laughing her ass of too. I told her that I didn’t have the money to pay for her stuff. She said well why couldn’t I put it on a credit card. I told her that even if I was informed of this shopping trip I was not buying you $210 worth of cloths. She told me that this was the reason that she didn’t want me paying every time we hooked up. She said the she didn’t need my money because she has her own. She just likes gifts like cloths.

I told Doris that I wanted to go back to my hotel. So we got back on the scooter and rode back. I was a little upset but when I thought about it I said to myself that it’s all just game. She just pretty good at running it. I was glad that I paid her the times that I did because I’m sure she would pull out the calculator on me. Well Doris left after she dropped me off.

The dude Gabriel said that he wanted to take us to the Capitol to a couple of cat houses a little later so I just sat back a relaxed until then. Now we had rented this van to get up there. It was about 11:30-12:00 pm. Gabriel took 4 of us to this cat house. As soon as we walked in we looked to the left and the was a bunch of guys from NY there. We Some of us had on Boston Red Sox gear so they know exactly where we were from. They yelled out a few thing to us about the bean and we yelled a few things back about the city (jokingly of course) and we kept on walking to this room with about three couches.

All the girls crowded around up just profiling. All looking for some type of eye contact to make their move. One came and sat on my lap and three more came over and sat on the laps of my friends. Ok, Now for my second trip to the DR.

it will be hot there. Upper 80's and humid. Won't cool down much at nite, so get a place with air conditioning.

Summer is fairly dry, but you can get daily downpours like those in florida. In fact think Florida weather, and you have the DR scene.It is hurricane season right now, and august is pretty much in the middle of it, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Third day of the trip and I am very anxious to go to Puerto Plata. After all the reports, pics, and just checking out the website, I felt that I couldn’t go wrong. Most camcorders have a input/output firewire connection and if your computer is using the Windows XP OS you can just connect your camcorder to the computer and create an mpeg movie of the Boca Chica festivities.

At this point you can use free webhosting sites like yahoo geocities to upload this file to the net for viewing by your fellow mongers.

It is a simple procedure but if you are having a problem I can walk you through it.

I hate to sound like a broken record but all the massage joints in Boca are a waste of money, with decent Spanish you can do quite well with about any non MP girl for RD$500 or so, and not even double that all night. I cannot imagine paying RD$2000 in the Mona Lisa in SD let alone in Boca Chica. I have 12 regular girls that come for appointments and all get RD$400.

The White House ( Salon Blanco) unless it is RADICALLY different has a bunch of greasy local hangers-on too which is intolerable if you are a tourist.

The Pink House across from El Candil wants US$60+, some girls are OK, they come to the hotel for RD$750 if I am charitable as part goes to the house so you have to pay them a little extra.

Well, if RD$2000 seems like a deal even knowing that it is much much higher than it has to be, I suppose you can overpay with a smile.

You tell them what you are ( willing to) paying them and in the case of the casas, go down the list - you are not in an AI, you were not brought by a driver they pay RD$700 commission to (or have your driver park down the road and walk there), you are not at the Jaragua or a Japanese businessman, you are not being brought in by the cholos or tigres out front, and you are not paying gringo prices, you will pay "near local" prices - just wait until a local comes in and watch what they pay the girl - RD$1000, 1,200 etc., they are not paying US$100 , $60 or anything else.

As for Boca Chica, try walking if the price doesn't get down to no more than $750 to $1000 in a MP. God knows there are hundreds of girls there and they know what to ASK for but also know what they'll take. And they overcharge for drinks.

I paid a couple of my regular girls RD $300 in May, so this is recent info, guys, you pay these ridiculous prices and all that happens is:

a) they take the money and
b) they start to think EVERYONE (like me) will pay them the prices and then I have to spend excessive time pointing out nothing is still a lot less than 400 or 500 pesos. And these girls come in from San Pedro or the capital when I call and let them know I am in town, so they are paying bus fare out of that.

If you cannot talk and to an extent argue in Spanish, take some of the excessive money you are willing to pay there, and learn better Spanish.

This whole overpricing crapola is why I don't go to Sosua or Costambar where the hotels "help" mongers with set prices, which are, of course 100% higher than they ought to be.

Bring presents too, the dollar stores were made for us, lipstick, eyeshadow, bras, hair clips and perfumes. I bring swag down for the whole crew at Xmas, last year was 15 little gift bags, cost me no more than maybe $3 per bag, once a year.

If you go more than a couple times a year get a phone as well, so they can call you, Orange cell phones are under US$40 and they use calling cards as little as RD$100 each and even when the card dies you can still get calls.

I am there 9/1 to 9/6 and will do a trip report, until then read my Managua Nicaragua report from yesterday.

If you know your way around MP's avoid the ones in Boca Chica, unless you can speak good Spanish and haggle and leave , not that any of them are the type of place you'd want to do it in, especially the Pink House around the corner from Costalunga.

Insist they come to your hotel for the same price , they will. I view air conditioning and running water and clean sheets as a right not a privilege. The White House, La Sala, Caribbean Spa and Pink House are clip joints not worth the trouble but see what you can do. pattaya is reasonable - RD$400 for the house and if they like you as little as RD$400-500 for the girl. I have the one(s) I like come to me from there as well.

I haven't been in the remaining disco (La Cueva went under like Laser did) for a long time as it is too loud and too full of a-holes. In the vicinity are 99% of the girls anyway, though I have my black book and phone and rarely partake of Duarte St. girls.

NB: Someone was shot dead in Cosmos recently, so much for the guy with the metal detector.Dominican on Dominican trouble I think.

Some of the plainest girls , or at leat not Mona Lisa stunner types, that I know are wild and crazy in bed, don't be too picky.

I was there in January and March and planning to be there in September.

May 28th, Memorial Day Week 2004 - Day One

I was planning the first trip of many for me and my homeboys, 9 of us total, young, African-American, athletic, good looking out of Los Angeles and Atlanta ready to get it poppin! Well hit Boca Chica last week and I haven't been there in over a year. Stayed at the Europa which I guess the original Dominican owners now runs. Plenty of girls. One problem. 98% are butt ugly!! greetings all. back from an all too quick five day trip to paradise, here we go.

got into bc wed late afternoon with my amigo, and we ran down to playa vista. first beer on the beach is soooo good. but not one familiar chica there. odd. in fact besides the help, not one chica.

I stayed at El Candil again, well sort of anyway. My clothes and luggage stayed there the entire five days, and i guess they enjoyed themselves without me.

And , I go back Sept 27- Oct 4 so any one hitting the town those dates ,lemmee know. Travelling solo this trip, and my last trip of the year, sadly.

I have not gotten a "regular's" price, but this trip I am going to see if the price will bend. But the hotel is so friendly that it is worth the few dollars spent there. What has been remarkable is the amount of knowledge that people (ex pats) are now willingly giving me. For a while, it was like pulling teeth, but now, I get offers from guys who have been there some 30 years to help with introductions to girls from "regular" families etc., how they shop, and where the bargains are and the such. And a history lesson now and then, which is always fascinating.

It will be interesting to go back so quickly, I may get the "you were away, were you?"

Prices! Prices! Im contemplating a trip to BC in Nov. I was just there in June and the dollar was strong. The Peso in gaining fast! How much are the Duarte girls quoting on average now? They usually try to follow the rise and fall of the various currencies so have they lowered Peso prices. In june it was on average 900-1200. I never do over that. Well I gyuess it depends on the girl and dollar rate. In breif I never want to spend more than 20-30 at max. I like thae raunch of the street scenre though. A Recent Run into Boca Chica

GREAT REPORT! You hit on something that many of us are reluctant to do, and that is be very direct with women. I fall into this category, as I tend to be rather shy (yes shy) . Which will not help me in Latino cultures, as women expect men to be aggressive. It's a new learning curve. First time on this thread, after researching for a couple of months and reading of your travels (thanks) I have decided to come to the Dominican late November early December. Got flights down to just under $500, that's pretty good coming from Detroit. Anyway Spirit out of FLL is $225 round trip to Santo Domingo. Going to be there Sat. to Wed. about 3 days mongering time!!

Problem is this, thought my first experience would be Sousa, but because of economics I think more bang for the buck in SD/BC. I want to know the hotels the mongers stay at in BC. For the bucks, go to Boca Chica. El Candil ( for one) in Boca Chica gets many mongers who are more than happy to clue you into the who what and where, and it is a great hotel.You will meet many mongers at El Candil, but you would be hit or miss in the capital. First timers, I would suggest staying in BC, and making a few trips to SDQ as time allows, then on your next trips start to move closer to el capital.

And please don't call it "the Dominican". It's the the Dominican Republic, or Republica Dominicana. "The Dominican" is a different country.

You're the first one that I've heard ask about this. I was also excited about picking up some cheap Dominincan "puros", considering that here in the US the Dominican cigars are among some of the best. Well made and relatively mild.

Yet, when I went to the tobacco stores in Santa Domingo, I found the selection of quality cigars lacking and the name brands I was familiar with were priced SKY HIGH! In fact, MORE EXPENSIVE by the bundle than I can get here from the well-known mail order houses! They tried to sell me bundles of local cigars I wasn't familiar with for about a buck a cigar---and I tried them. They were terrible, poorly made, burned unevenly, harsh smoke, complete junk. Complete waste of money.

I also went to Santiago looking for a bargain because that's the area where the factories are. Time and time again I struck out. Yes, they have cigars for sale all over. But the prices for anything that looked good were OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH!

Continued my mission in BC and Sosua. More of the same.

I eventually bought a box of DOMINICAN COHIBAS on the beach in BC for about 1/2 the normal US price. What was I thinking? They were fakes. Worth nothing. The boxes and labels looked authentic, but the cigars were terrible. Much too softly rolled, damaged wrappers, etc. Again JUNK! More money wasted! I saw the same Dominican cigar guy walking the beach the next day and I called him on it. He just smiled and nodded. Of course they were fake, he said, I thought you knew.

In the end, the best place I found to buy Dominican cigars was the local supermarket. They have a modest selection of legitimate cigars for decent prices. However, they sold none of the brands or labels we're familiar with here. What I learned is that THOSE BRANDS ARE FOR EXPORT ONLY!!!! In other words, the best product is not sold to the Domincans---it's exported to the gringos.

So, like with so many things (not including chicas), when it comes to cigars: There's no place like home!

Let me know if you have any better luck than I did, quality or price-wise, please.

There is a high end cigar shop across from the cathedral in Santo Domingo, not on El Conde but across from the old end of the cathedral. They claim to have Cubans there, and certainly have the expensive DR smokes. It's also air conditioned so a great place to hang out and cool off.

To #2128: The fake Cubans cost US$4-8 a box, mostly for the box with that dopey piece of glass as a lid - I have a regular vendadero who sells this stuff and watches etc., and they pay around this amount for the cigars which are made from sweepings etc.

At one time the local cigars were a great deal but the peso and additional tax has made them chancy, but you can get Leon Jimines at a reasonably price locally and some adequate deals at duty free. But know the US price before buying as it may still be too much (in fact you may do better at a duty free when you leave the USA) . The best brands e.g. La Flor Dominicana are all export made for tax free benefits in country and as such are essentally reimported for local sale at appalling prices.

You are right about doing the research on U.S. prices for Dominican cigars in the US; however, like you said and I learned, the prices in the DR are MORE than in the U.S. for the same DR cigars. So why bother? The best produce goes the U.S. market and the "shavings" are left for the Dominicans and the gullible touristas.

However, after all is said and smoked, we don't go to BC or Sosua for the cigars, right? And what we DO go for may be sometimes exported, but it ain't never counterfeit. It's the REAL DOMINICAN DEAL!

For me the best time to hang around duarte is around 3-4 pm when you can be the last chance for dinero esta noche.

On my opinion Santo-Domingo could be roughest for a first night.

Nope, you don't need a script. In fact , there is a cambio on Duarte just east of Plaza Isla Bonita that sells them 100mg plus 50 mg . Change some money, grab the "V". Now, i don't know about the efficacy of said pills. I'm sure they're knockoffs (like everthing else for sale there). If they are blue,you are at least halfway there. Not blue, not good.

And I agree about the posters here, very helpful and sincere. Although they/we have been known to flame a bit,now and then. :)

I got into BC yesterday afternoon and lodged up at the Hamilton after the taxi driver at the airport gave me a brochure and quoted me $30 for a nice room with AC and hot water. The desk wanted $45 US per night, I stood firm and got $30 per night if I stayed for the whole week. This must be the place for the high end price chicas. They are always at the bar, and they want $100 US for TLN. I thought I talked one down to $50 last night, but this morning she said $100, with a promise to return this evening. I was pissed, but what could I do? The day bartender is a cute little number who always gives me a sly smile. Maybe I should see what she would go for. :D

They sell condoms and real Cohibas in the motel lobby here.

I just met Reuben, the number 2 pimp of Boca Chica who tried to sell me his chica for $100 US. I told him to forget it.

Why can´t these people speak english unless they want your money?

It started as a hustle at the airport and it's only gonna get worse. Being on scam-alert 24/7 is real tiring and frustrating. And the noise....give yourself a break.

Not to say that one ISN'T on scam-alert MOST OF THE TIME in the DR, but you definitely got off to a shaky start. Cut your losses and walk away from the Hamilton chicas quoting you $100 USD----it's like paying 4X the price!

And real, genuine cohibas? Please. You gotta be kidding! THERE ARE NO REAL COHIBAS IN BC. I bought, checked it out, and got burned to prove it. Check out the cigar thread here a while back.

I'm not a rental agent in BC, but my own experience was good at EL CANDIL, up the hill at the end of DuArt, close to the action, girl friendly, good security, friendly staff, nice clean rooms with full amenities and QUIET! It's $45 USD. Others have had similar good experiences at CASTALONGA, also up the hill from DuArte. However, have heard reports about noisy kids in swimming pool there. No such thing at El Candil, mostly adults stay there.

Hang tuff Baltimore, get the lay of the land and enjoy the best that BC has to offer! It's a sweet scene. But full of bullshi**ers and con artists. Keep your eyes open bud.

I had much better luck last night if in a way of speaking. I negotiated down to 800 Pesos with the best looking chica sitting outside Zanzibar. Rosa was her name. I was robbed for 200RD$ by the motoconcho driver after he threatened to kill her and I. it seems that the word got around that I refused service at Salon Blanco to which he and a few other street lowlifes were connected to.

The original deal was for 1000RD$ for Rosa. We get to the hotel and this guy demands 200 pesos. I tell him to fuck off. He yells at her in Spanish. She grabs my wallet and gives him the cash. In the hotel bar there is about 12 chicas there 1/3 of which are just as good as Rosa. We get up to the room and I pull out the remaining 800RD$ and she points to it and wants more. I tell her I don´t have it, that the motoconcho driver got it, and she gave it to him. She says motoconcho is mafioso, points to me and her, makes a throat slashing gesture with her hand. She says you go banco. I tell her no, and to fuck off. She agrees to 800.

After I was done, we showered, got dressed and I got her ass out of my room.

This morning I was down in the bar at my motel and before breakfast arrived, I was already negotiating with another. I think I should just stay at the bar for the rest of my stay here. It´s the safest place for me.

I was having pizza last night at the place across from Zanzibar, and I was being watched by every chica and street lowlife around. Very few white guys here. I feel like I´m under siege.

I hope you're having fun, but you seem a bit stressed in your recent posts. BTW, congrats on 300+.

1. Carry a pen and write on your hand if you can't find paper. Everyone knows how to read numbers and shake their head yes or no.

2. There's a grocery on Duarte on a Northwestern corner down toward the Western side, but a block or two east of Banco Popular, and their prices are better than the vendors. That said, their exchange rates suck, so bring pesos.

3. Use the cambios on Duarte to exchange US cash for the best rates. They were 1/2 peso higher per US $ than the banks (for cash) when I was there. Otherwise, your ATM card offers the best exchange rates. Be aware that the ATM link to US banks sometimes is unavailable, and that happened to me at a few very inopportune times.

4. Anyone that quotes you a price for anything is giving you the gringo price. Since you're white, let's call it a skin tax. Unless it's marked on the product, you can always pay less than what you've been quoted.

5. To practice negotiation, don't wait until you're hungry or thirsty, because they can smell your need. Negotiating from a place of need is something most folks can't hide. Tank up where you've been getting ripped off and get pissed off about it. Then, walk a few blocks, the more the better, well away from your normal haunts and bargain as hard as you can. They won't know you and you can instantly establish a new reputation with a local. The more places you can shop, the more you can practice bargaining. Bargain for shit you don't even want. It doesn't matter.

6. It's not about them needing the money more than you! If you don't even try to bargain, they are laughing at you behind your back and during the transaction! Leave you're heart back in your hotel room. Always respond to their ridiculously high and insulting price with an equally ridiculously low and insulting price.

7. As long as they have those big lovely smiles, you've not reached their real bottom line price. When they start getting tense, you're getting close. If they don't get close enough to what you know it's worth in the local market, walk away, but don't walk away mad. Be sure to tell them you're going down the way to pay the lower price you willing to pay for the exact same thing. If they call you back, great.

8. Remember, they're very used to gringos paying too much! The harder you bargain, the more they respect you. The lower the price you pay, the more they respect you. I relish the times I've seen the looks on vendor's faces when I firmly told them I was only going to pay X (X being the local price) even after they've been charging me Y (Y being the gringo price). It took me a few days to get my sea legs, so you're right on track. Don't even ask me about my 5000 peso chica.

The 3d world is a tough place but for the most part I feel safer in the DR, in Cambo and in Bangkok than I do in Baltimore, where I feel really safe, even in the deepest and darkest hoods. Call me stupid. Call me in denial of the statistical risks. Call me a hopeless romantic.

Have you been riding around on any of the motoconchos (motorbike taxis)? There's really nothing like riding on the back of one of those little 100cc'ers without a helmet, with a lovely lass between my legs, at night, with the oncoming headlights in my eyes and the grit of the road dust in my teeth. That, for me, is the essence of being in the 3d world. That and fucking the local high quality puss for a discount off American prices, and being treated like a king after getting the locals trained to know that I won't suffer their silly games.

Your feelings of being under seige or being the only white guy are unique to my dozens of trips to BC. But hanging out all the time on Duarte is a mediocre process at best owing to the oddballs and shysters that abound - even Las Muchacas with the pizza outside is better and ess frenetic.

Don't fret over the RD$800 to Rosa vs. RD$1000 since IMHO RD$800 is also too much. (as is the beach conquest for RD$1500 -wow!)

If you get a moto driver who wants RD$200 in a RD$40 world ( it is now RD$20 days and 40 nights) tell him to wait and ask the security guy to get the price right. They do a fine job of that and then if you want , give the guard RD$50 - you are way ahead on the deal that way and you should always tip the guards anyway since they make dick - well not even an erect dick frankly.

And unless Boca Chica isn't empty as a who*e's heart right now and that would amaze me, why you are at that sh**hole hotel is a total mystery when down the road there are many better ones to choose like Costalunga (where either night guard would not make you pay RD$200 for a moto) , or El Candil. You don't HAVE to stay there for the week you reserved, just pay and leave.

The annoying jackhammering is a good reason as is the general sleazoid nature of the place and crapola location.

I cancelled my 10/9 trip to BC since I managed to get dengue in Managua (well in the toolies outside Managua) but with the peso doing its ridiculous andnon sustainable gymnastics just as well - at 29 to the dollar it is getting a mite pricey to us veterans of 38-40-50-55 of recent memories, and it can't last so I am off to Nicaragua again in November until things improve.

But take it a lot cooler there - you are the man with the cash, the prodigal son, who they are looking for - and you hold the cards. Start learning some GD Spanish too.

NB - check the cambios for rates in this order: the one with the 82 money transfer signs near the Swiss place, then Rodrigues' across the street in the littel green hut, then the one in the nice little mall next to Zanzibar and avoid banks though the BR cambio in the luggage area at SDQ is not usually too bad and I go there to avoid customs anyway.

Yes, some of the motoconcho drivers are preditors. Your hotel might be able to recommend a some that they know and trust. It sounds like it might be worth an extra few pesos, for peace of mind, to have a regular driver. Have him wait for you while you fetch a temporary girlfriend, go to the ATM or go for food. A Presidente or two here and there while he's waiting will be appreciated as much, if not more than, a few extra pesos. If he knows you'll take care of him, give him regular biz, and if your hotel gives him lots of biz, he won't want to spoil a good thing. Treat him like an employee, even if he invites you back to his house.

Day 5:

The deal for Rosa was for TLN. I don´t know if that´s still too high. I kicked her ass out because I was pissed at her for giving up the 200 Pesos.

Yesterday I had Yolanda from the hotel bar for 500RD$. She was the one I was bargaining with over breakfast (the food is actually cheap at the bar, and better than on Duarte, IMHO). I came back a few hours later to continue negotiations. I get her down to 500 after she quoted me $50 US. I wrote 500pesos and the room number on a napkin and walked back to my room. I put all but the 500 into the safe, and laid the rest on the table beside the bed.

A few minutes later I get a knock on the door. Yolanda comes inside, starts kissing me and taking off her clothes, all the while asking for more money. I keep telling her no. and push toward the door, about to throw her naked ass out of the room. When I turn her back to me, I notice she had a condom wrapper stuck to her back! She also has a few strange old scars on her ankles and abdomen. She gets my drift and agrees to 500.

I pull her into the shower first and make sure I give her a good washing down before we proceed further. We get to the bed and she starts offering me Greek for $50 US. I tell her no.

Later on, after I come back from the liquor store across the street, she meets up with me and wants to go again. I tell her no and go back to my room to knock back a few Presidente´s.

In between this, I meet up with he 1500RD$ chica, this time without her pimp, and she wants 1000RD$. I walk away with her following me bargaining me down.

This hotel has no security guard. It is a nice place with some recent improvements due to management change.

Ahh, the Presidentes are frío, and the weather is caliente. Last night was fun, even if I overpaid. Vicki, the $100 chica from my first night. Last night was 700RD$ + dinner (about 250RD$) for a few hours with her and some picture taking. I have never had actual girlfriends give me the GFE she gives.

She is dark skinned and quite pretty. The other chicas I´ve been with here don´t come close to her, IMHO.

To answer your question no. I stayed in Hamaca 2 times so far. I chose a resort for the obvious comforts ( beach right on resort, unlimited food & alcohol) casino inside if i chose to be crazy enough to gamble in DR, etc.) . But unfortuantly one thing they dont alow is guests. The price they told me would be $60.00 to regester the guest, and I doubt anyone is crazy enough to pay that.

I think I will try El Candil next time I think one of the chicas I had told me its close by there. Just hope by that time i will speak enough spanish to get around the restaurants.
