This is a classic problem. What services are contracted for when you take a chica to your room for sex? What quality assurance program is there?
My way of dealing with this tends to be to negotiate a deal in which I say "I will pay you x pesos, but if you are exceptionally good then I will pay you x + y pesos."
Really, as far as I am concerned the price is x + y, but hopefully she has an incentive to go the extra mile for the extra money.
Of course if there is not chemistry, which may be more mental than physical, then I think there will always be a limit to how she will perform. It may also depend how emotionally needy she is and how much she has a need for validation. Telling her that she is gorgeous, that she is better than the other chicas, and all that kind of bullshit MAY pay dividends, but cannot be guaranteed.
At the end of the day, if she just wants to get it done as quickly as possible, get the money, and get out of there without any thought of possible repeat business with you, then that is just one of the risks of the hobby. Hey all, Returned from a quick trip down to CA (www.charlisangels.com) a few weeks ago and thought I'd share my experience. First of all, booking was easy and straight forward. I spoke with Edward on the phone several times and he guided me through the process effortlessly. Given I was there 3rd week of Aug, I was offered an upgrade on the room and a bonus girl for one night.
Landed at POP and was greeted before immigration by a dude with a sign bearing my name. Just as well as there was a power failure at the airport at the time and all the computers were down. We had to wait a bit, but the VIP service got us through much faster than the rest of the passengers.
Jolise and driver were waiting outside and 20 minutes later we arrived at the resort. The resort has been described before. It’s quite intimate, but by no means tiny or small. I was shown to my upstairs bedroom upon arriving. It appears that there are 4 rooms upstairs, 2 VIP (very large) and 2 deluxe rooms. My room (deluxe) had a king size bed, large bathroom and closet and was more than adequate. Downstairs there are 2-3 rooms. I also saw the rooms downstairs and they were virtually the same as upstairs. There are 2 large common areas inside consisting of a lounge and the main room that has a stereo, computer and the dining table. There is also an open bar off the main room. Outside there is a large pool, fenced in yard, and ready access to the beach via stairs. There is also an outdoor patio-lounge where most of us hung out.
So after arriving and stowing my stuff, I headed downstairs for a drink, to meet the ladies and have lunch. Can’t say enough about the chef, Victor. He whipped up a great plate of pasta for me as I was starving. On that note, I should comment on all the staff. In a word, they were terrific. Very attentive to your every need.
When I arrived there were 3 ladies to choose from. If I had one complaint, it would have to be that the selection of ladies was somewhat limited. Three of the ladies were otherwise occupied at other locations, one had left, and one was otherwise spoken for. Of the three that were available, one of the ladies was stunning and the other two were perhaps a 6 and 7. I of course choose the stunner for my first night.
What really made the trip were the guys I was lucky enough to meet. RR was there when I arrived and he is one crazy party dude. We had a great time at the casino and later dancing with all the girls. I just finished reading Sterlings review. Frankly I don't get it. I don't mean to be a jerk, but $1300 a night? I have spent most of my mongering time in Costa Rica. I have rented the best suites in the best hotels for $200 per night. The best of the best women in the country can be had for $200 for a TLN. If you find a model, a perfect 10, you may have to pay $300 for a TLN.

Hey Renegade, sorry to hear about your experience. As someone who has been to Cristals and stayed at Mustang Ranch, you should definitely contact the owner Lino. Some girls pulled a fast one on me and some guys I met while staying at the Ranch(we were there for multiple days on the all inclusive plan). We told Lino the next morning and he gave us our money back(the toda la noche fee(50 bucks) plus the propina we gave to our respective girls). He really prides himself on making sure his clients are happy. Also the ring leader who started the trouble and coerced my girl and another to leave with her after only two hrs despite paying for TLN was FIRED the very next day. Once again sorry to hear about your experience. Most of the girls there I encountered were sweet while some will try to take kindness for a weakness. It would help if you knew the girls name: but from your description it sounds a lot like Lucy. 22 with braces, did she have a thin build, with light brown skin and black hair?

If over time I've read the suggestions here well, you should try to:
- Do short-time first to test their performance then do TLN if they merit it.
- Try to state a price as "$X dollars" plus "$Q tip for good service"
(Same total as you originally intended structured differently)
- Talk a little bit first and find out if they have important restrictions.
- Ask upfront "how well" (not "if")they do anything special you need done.
- Cut your losses early, be firm and kick her out with a small carfare pymt if the attitude and enthusiasm are not to your liking.

I have been to Oxygen and would say their girls are SLIGHTLY better looking than what you would find at Blackbeards or Sosua... ON AVERAGE.
You can easily find better looking girls outside that resort and not pay the $1000 per day fees at O2. The O2 girls are guaranteed to come through. The BB girls are also guaranteed at about $75/night. The Sosua girls, there is slight risk that there might be a problem for about the same price.
CA's or Vikings have mostly Euro girls.
Take a look at the mail I just received from O2. It will give you an idea what the girls might look like. When I was there the girls definitely looked higher quality. I wonder if anything happened?

I have considered booking at MRR in the past, but their reservation policy really put me off. They wanted the reservation made with credit card, but then wanted to keep the money on a pro-rated basis, depending on how late the reservation was canceled.
Knowing the weather in the Caribbean in hurricane season, and how Murphy's law, "if anything can go wrong, it will" I have been reluctant to make that kind of cash commitment.
The alternative would be showing up without a reservation.

I just finished reading Sterlings review. Frankly I don't get it. I don't mean to be a jerk, but $1300 a night? I have spent most of my mongering time in Costa Rica. I have rented the best suites in the best hotels for $200 per night. The best of the best women in the country can be had for $200 for a TLN. If you find a model, a perfect 10, you may have to pay $300 for a TLN.
Hotels in Lima go for $300 per night but the women for only $150 or less. These are hot young ladies with GFE performance.

Staying at one of these resorts, however, goes well beyond just the women. I'm a 45 year old professional and frankly I'm well beyond partying with the college boys. Well usually. LOL. I far prefer to be pampered in relative luxury and while I persue the hobby.
In any event, to each his own. I'm sure there are plenty of guys that cound afford Viking or CA, yet prefer BB's etc. Whatever makes you happy.

So guys, I went to Cristal again and talked with the boss about the girl. He believed me and went to talk with the girl. Gee, she lied like hell.
But she said to me that she wouldn't charge me if I was going upstairs with here. But knowing her bad sex quality I had to say no, so I got some of my money back.

Hey, thanks for your comments. To clarify, CA and oxygen are not even close to each other. CA primarily employs Eastern european women, oxygen hires local DR women. Pictures of the CA women are readily available on their site, as are pictures of the previous ladies that have been there.
Simply put, I'm just not a fan of the darker skinned ladies. Perhaps my loss, but that's my preference. And while some guys love em, I don't find the ladies at BB very attractive, and I don't think oxygen is all that much better, perhaps a bit, but not significantly.
In my original post, I mentioned that I frequent Europe, in part because I like the EE ladies. My trip to the DR was a last minute replacement for a cancelled trip to Amsterdam to hook up with a very attractive Latvian beauty I met a year ago.

You are absolutely correct. For all intents and purposes, the girl of my choosing essentially "moved" into my room for the 24 hours I was with her. That said, she does occaisionally dissappear to change clothes for dinner etc. But let's face it, unless you're some kind of super-human that can fuck 24 hours straight, who cares. As well, it was actually nice when the girls dissappeared to get ready for dinner. It gave us guys (and there were only 2 of us the 1st night, 3 the 2nd, and 4 the last night) a chance to talk over a beer without the girls hanging on to us. Frankly a welcome break at times!!

Here is a freaky Cristal's girl I stayed with on my last night.
I was at the Ranch September 5 through the 8. Overall I had a good time. The trip was not without its kinks however. I arrived Friday afternoon to expect a waiting taxi driver holding a placard with my name like BBs usually does. However, there was no such person. I called the Ranch and spoke with Nancy, the manager, who claimed that I didn't advise them what time I was arriving. In fact, I had when I made the reservation and noted that I needed transportation from the airport, which is included if you pay the all inclusive price. I took one of the driver's from the airport after Nancy agreed to pay for the fair. I didn't bother negotiating the fare since the Ranch was paying although the driver quoted me a price of $33 US for the 12 minute ride. But again since I wasn't paying I didn't complain.
The all inclusive price was $179 US a night and includes transportation to and from the airport and Cristals, 3 meals a day in their small but pleasant dining room, drinks(very limited selection which does not include Presidente and many mixed drinks, although my drink of choice, cuba libre, was included).
The resort itself looks new and the grounds, pool, and jacuzzi are well kept. The standard rooms are basic. They have suites which I did not see but imagine are nicer. The staff is friendly and included two cute waitresses and a bartender who are off-limits(I asked them). Teresa, the evening bartender(not as attractive as the other female staffers, but has a great ass) is available as others have reported but her price is way to high in relation to her looks. My first afternoon I played billiards with Teresa at the bar. She claimed that "I no puta" but then said we can do freaky freaky all night for $120.00 US, which I declined.
Unlike BBs, which is teeming with activity during the day and night, during the day I was the only person at the Ranch, which felt wierd. At night, I saw few guys who took girls from Cristals at the bar.
I vistied BBs on Fri and Sat and rented a room for two hours each day for 800 pesos. The chicas at BBs, Cheena and the other blond I have posted a picture of, charged me 2000 pesos for two hours because I was not staying at BBs. I agreed because I had been with Cheena during a previoius trip in April and knew what a great performer she is and that she is extremely tight down under. I agreed to 2000 pesos for the other chica because I had been after her since my last trip in July when she was always so busy it just never worked out. I did try to negotiate down to 1000 and 1500 but neither would budge. During the two days I visited, I was very surprised by the lack of hotties at BBs Besides the two I hooked up with, there were maybe 4 or 5 other doable girls of which most I had previously been with during prior trips. I was only their during the day though so maybe the selection got better at night.
I used the same taxi driver from the airport, Joseph from Sosua, for duration of my stay. He said he is a lawyer but didn't have much work at the moment and uses his van as a taxi when he's not busy. I identified with him because I am a lawyer, albeit in the US where the economic situation is better for lawyers. Whenever the Ranch was not paying for the taxi(which was basically anywhere I went except the airport and Cristals or their day club Rio) I compensated him quite well. Still, towards the end of the trip he started complaining that the Ranch was not paying him well and that he has 4 kids three of whom are in college, a 2000 peso credit card bill to pay and a second wife in Puerto Plata he needs to support. I basically responded that I I was paying him well for every trip the Ranch was not paying for and that if they weren't paying him well maybe he shouldn't drive for them. I did give him a tip at the end of the trip when he took me back to the airport. I have his number but don't think I well use him again because he did get annoying with the whole money thing and besides there are hundreds of decent taxi drivers to choose from so why latch on to one.
The girls are Cristals are some of the more attractive chicas you will see in Puerto Plata/Costambar. They are, however, more expensive. I received one card for each day of my stay at the ranch which entitled me to fours hours with a chica of my choice from Cristals. If you stay with the girl over the fours hours(including for the night) you have to pay an extra $50 US. The Ranch actually charges you $20US. I ended up giving the girl $30 US each time and $20 US to the ranch. The girls were not happy with this policy but they didn't protest much since the club and the ranch are owned by the same peoplr and that's the policy. Joseph told me that the girls complained to him about the policy and said that I should have paid the $20US to the ranch in addition to their $50, but all but the last chica I had didn't say anything to me about it. Even with the last chica, I told her that's the policy and if she didn't want to stay all night she didn't have too. Each girl did push to stay the night for extra $ but I didn't mind because they were all decent perfomers. Saline gave an extrodinary BBBB.
On Friday night when I arrived at Cristals about 11pm, I was one of only a few guys in there and about 50. I went to get a beer from the bar and when I turned around, about 20 girls were blocking my path to the chairs by the stage. Despite the whether and the club being closed, they were still partying, listening to music and drinking. The selection was not as good as when the club is open but I did find Carolina, who I stayed with for the evening as she did not want to go back due to the "cyclone".
Overall, I had a good time but am not sure I would return. The apparent quality of BBs girls this trip also has me reluctant about returning there. I think next trip I will do as many experienced DR mongers do and spread my time over the various options with my main base probably being Sosua.

Your $1400-1800 is not out of line for me also on a 5 day/4 night excursion to BBs, but I stock up on some things (cialis, etc.) and I like to go out to different restaurants in the evening, as well as getting some small gifts for the chicas. BBs is still the most cost effective option I have found here in the DR.
Actually Trop A and Total Satisfaction are the ones I am looking at more closely. Price wise they are somewhat in line with BBs. I don't care much about the exclusivity of the girls that has been mentioned in some previous posts on the high end AI Adult venues, to me that is an illusion. I like the spoon fed environment though and the fact that they are located on the other side of the island. This would allow me a stealth visit into the island without notifying the novia I am in town as well as less expensive flights to SDQ vs. POP. I just know if I go to POP that someone will see me and word will spread, and I don't want to deal with that.

The political climate has changed in Venezuela and I can understand why MWV may have temporarily closed.
Please let us know if MWV in the DR is comparable to its Venezuelan counterpart. I know several guys who started their punting activities at MWV and migrated to BBs over time. All the guys I talked to liked MWV a lot, but moved to BBs because they could not justify in their minds the difference in service vs. difference in price. I know for myself, once I learned how to handle BBs, I get great service most of the time.

I spend about the same....sometimes a bit more depending on what is happening at the time ie....a Holiday. I have hosted a few Buffets for everyone in the past (Thanksgiving and others) and that will jack up the price a bit for that trip. I will say this about BB's they have always charged me a very reasonable price per head for meals I have put on and the quality of the food has been very very good! As for the girls wanting more money (tip) for the time in Hot Tub in addition to the fee for going to the room I have never been asked. I would pay it but I would never stay with that person again.

Hot tub action prior to bedroom activities is usually part of ST (normally 1 1/2 to 3 hours and for TLN too for that matter). One thing I must say is that it is always good to confirm things up front. If you want a "Happy Hour" (two chicas at one session, NOT two for the price of one) and you want it to include the hot tub, make your wants known. Anything you want beyond normal oral and screwing should be communicated prior to agreeing to go with the girl. Whether the chica speaks English or not, she understands the word "jacuzzi". I was there about two months ago, and jacuzzi wasn't extra.
If it was part of a TLN, there was no mention of extra for the time in the jacuzzi.
I think its just a matter of the girls pushing the envelope and asking, to see if the guy will pay extra. If there are questions, rather than raise them here, ask Charo or her assistant Jennifer, and they will straighten things out.
Read the sheet they give you when entering BB's. It clearly list the prices the girls are supposed to charge for short and long time sessions. If they are asking for extras, don't be shy, contact Charo or her assistant quickly. They don't like being reprimanded for ripping off customers and could get fired if they keep it up. By the way, the minute they ask for anything more, get rid of them fast. Remember, it only costs more if you give in to them. If in doubt, take the price sheet with you whenever you talk to a girl. She will know then that you know what you are supposed to pay.

Just to clear a few things up, if you go to the jacuzzi and make NO COMMITMENT for ST or TLN, I can certainly understand the chica wanting some compensation. Although I understand using the hot tub as a place to "interview" the girls, doing it without at least some pesos chaning hands or commiting to ST or TLN doesn't set well with me. We all like freebees, but these girls are working girls and payment for service is just business like.
Now as to the jacuzzi being part of ST and TLN, just like anything else, make your wishes known before you commit. You didn't mention Sosua! When you say POP do you mean the actual city of Puerto Plata or Black Beards? I don't visit the North Coast anymore but when I did Sosua was to place to be. I really don't think that has changed. Cabarete would rank #3 unless you are into kite surfing and the like.

ThanksI'll be in Sosua October 2, Cabarete is a beach town with a big kite boarding and windsurfing culture. Cute bars on the beach, young crowd, mostly foreigners, Dominican chicas like cabarete. Much more working girls in Sosua. I never hooked upped in Cabarete. Sosua is 15 minutes before Cabarete coming from Puerto Plata. Puerto Plata is kind of a noisy, busy city. The resort areas in Puerto Plata are gated complexes and they are 5-10 minutes from the busy part of Puerto Plata. I don't know Blackbeards.

Such cards exist, I was handed one at the end of my last visit.
I for one suggest that each guy started by paying each girl for TLN, but with a little extra. Consider that normally a girl can expect that she and a single client will spend a good part of the night sleeping (at least I do). If she is being expected to service more clients, some extra payment would not be out of line.

RodeoWhen I was at BB's about 6 weeks ago upon finishing checking out on my last day Jenny handed me a survey sheet and asked me if I would kindly fill it out which I did. It had everything on it from opinions on the hotel facilities all the way to "did the girls use condoms? If after that you have additional questions ask away. You really have to check with your particular airline to find out their own rules. Usually very easy on their websites. I am amazed how so amny different airlines can have so many different regulations concerning such as simmle thing.
As a rough guide most airlines will let you take a 7kg bag of specified dimensions plus a laptop into the cabin. You can buy bags that meet these dimensions. I've often been well overweight, but as long as your cabin bag looks like a purpose made cabin size bag, I've nether been challenged. Regularly carry 10kg without a problem. Do check with your airline. The limits vary a lot.

The best way to find what size of bag you can carry on board is to call the airline. What they allow usually depends on the aircraft used. Also some airlines allow only one carry on and some allow one carry on plus a personal item such as a small backpack, briefcase, purse, etc...
If you are coming to the DR, you should be bringing light cloths with you and these pack nicely in a carry on. the trick is to roll the cloths rather than lay them flat and stack them up.
If I am staying there for longer than I week, I usually pack for a week and do laundry as necessary. Much cheeper than being charged for a bag in the cargo bin and you know that your stuff is with you at all times.

I'm sure you've seen the footlockers some people bring on as "carry-ons".
Weight is less of an issue than the size to fit in the overhead.
If I go that route, I bring the essentials, (condoms, etc) and small travel-size toothpaste, mouthwash, etc in the carry-on and the bottles of liquids, booze, etc on the second.
Be sure to have the BB phone number as a contact if for any reason the secon bag doesn't make it.

A small back pack (usually called a day bag) or about 2300 cu inches. I carry a second bag that is either the same size or a little smaller. In the first bag I put all of my clothes and essentials.
In the second bag I carry my travel docts, important papers, and reading material that is discarded as it is read. The second bag is considered my "personal bag" and I take pains to keep it no more than half full.
I have never checked bags since 2003, and have been on over 30 trips with no problems.
The clothes you pack need to be washable in the sink of your room, meaning they will dry over night. I wash my underwear and socks every night and hang them up to dry. Three sets of underwear are sufficient for this system, and I never wear dirty clothes. Socks you need a few more, or you can buy new ones and discard the dirty ones and avoid the washing.
I'm no fashion hound, but sometimes it is necessary to buy a shirt or pants to make a scene. Either I gift away or leave the clothes in the room as an extra tip to the cleaning people if my bag starts getting too full.
A tip. Pack everything in gallon or quart size plastic zip lock bags. You can squeeze the air out and compress the heck out of your clothes and they will fit in a much smaller size bag.
The pants and shirts you bring must be coordinated with each other, meaning you can wear anything with anything without offending the fashion police too much. Experiment with fabrics and styles and you will be able to keep your load quite manageable.
The biggest drawback to this system is if you have to change planes, because you must carry your stuff through the terminals, and keep your eye on your bags at all times. In the US or Europe it's not too big of a deal, but in some SA terminals there are too many hustlers to let your guard down for a minute.

The ATM's usually give you a good rate. Try one at a bank. Watch your card's foreign transaction fees. Maybe a buck or two per w/d.
The change houses always have the exchange rate posted. Try to shop around after you get a little cash from the ATM.
Try to go online beforehand to get a feel on what the going rate is.

The ATM's usually give you a good rate. Try one at a bank. Watch your card's foreign transaction fees. Maybe a buck or two per w/d.
The change houses always have the exchange rate posted. Try to shop around after you get a little cash from the ATM.
Try to go online beforehand to get a feel on what the going rate is.
The change place indoors INSIDE the airport at both Miami and Puerto Plata is a rip off. The bank on the concourse OUTSide the airport at POP is fine. There is also an ATM at that bank. Don't worry. Lots of people will help you. Not sure about the layout of Jenny's, but just walk in and say "Cambio". Believe it or not, Dominicans will easily know you are a visitor and they know that visitors have to change money. It is not like being a tourist in the US. In the DR you will be the center of attention wherever you go. Everyone wants to change your money, sell you something, take you somewhere, fuck you.

Jenny's gives a good exchange rate, and its only 5 minute walk from BB, so you don't have to go looking for a bank in Puerto Plata, with the hassle and cabfare that involves.
All you do is:
For a small amount just ask the cashier to change dollars, she will call the manager from the back, and he will go to a room in back to change it.
Once I wanted to change a large amount and didn't want attention at the cash register, so I just knocken on the office door in back and told him (in Spanish) how much I wanted to change.
No ATMs in Costambar that I know of.
To go that route, ask the manager for the nearest in Puerto Plata.
Frankly, after paying cabfare into town, you lose money on the transaction.
Which is why Jenny's is so convenient.
Stirling, if you think you paid $1300 for quality I think you are dead wrong. You can afford $1300 and I think many people including me can afford that also. However thinking that oxygen or CA somehow created some angels exclusively for you does not make perfect sense.
On my solo trip to Sosua I found all kind and quality of girls in the mentioned range of $100-$200. Picture of girls of BB and other places are available where it is top secret for oxygen and CA, which makes be believe that it is more of a marketing gimmick.

Nothing so organized that the word "policy" would apply.
They are aware that their photos could be put on the net for the world to see.
Some don't care, some do.
Some are very concerned that family members or children might have such pics called to their attention.
Some see it as a way of earning extra cash by charging for allowing pics.
Its strictly on an individual basis.

I take lots and lots of pictures of the girls at BB's, and have done so on each of my 4 visits. I ask the girls permission, and have been turned down only by Morena. I assure them that the pictures will not be posted on the internet. I also do not ask to take nude pictures. All of my pictures are taken outdoors and clothed.
I get excellent results and as a practice, on my return visits, I bring the girls some beautiful 8 x 10 enlargements of themselves as gifts. They love those pictures. Perhaps for this reason, I don't get no for an answer.

- india: gone. this dude who goes by the nickname freak has subsidized her to start up her own beauty salon in santiago; sends her money on a regular basis too. this is not second hand info, i talked to dude on a cell phone of one of his buddies who was at bbs
- gleny: gone. in another country according to one of the girls. confirmed with charo that she doesn't work there anymore.
- angela: big tittied light-skinned tall girl with juicy lips: pregnant and out of commission; let's hope for a healthy baby and a speedy return!
- the 500 pesos for fun in the jacuzzi is legit! i spoke to charo about it on 3 separate occasions and she says that the girls can charge for the jacuzzi time on top of any short time or tln services negotiated. i told her that this was a rip off, but, my biggest argument was that it wasn't advertised on the rules sheet that you get when you check in. i then brought all this up to paco and he said he doesn't deal with pricing or what the girls charge for, but that he would work to get it added to the price sheet and mention the seeming "double charge" to the owner and encourage a sit down between he and charo to discuss what is best. charo's idea is that if you take a girl to the jacuzzi and make out, blah blah blah, then she should be compensated; in my opinion, even if that is so, you shouldn't have to pay if you already agreed on tln or short time. otherwise, we're just paying to use the jacuzzi! that said, only the new girl mentioned the 500 pesos to me and i refused because it wasn't on the sheet. best advice, be ready to pay it, but don't ask and they might not mention it!

bbs girls i boned: scarlett, carolina, antonia (newish girl); i was really looking forward to india, but, as i stated, she was not there.
maria louisa, najara, yohanny, joanna, gisele, and isabel (the english speaker) were old favorites that were still there. there seemed to be alot of new girls there that are both welcomed and detrimental additions. my biggest observation during my first couple of days was that the girls were all sitting around in bikinis, which, at first might seem sexy, but, seeing them like that all day and all their imperfections kinda spoils the surprise and leaves little to the imagination--my opinion. by the time i returned for my last 3 days, they were back to being in regular clothes during the day.

you know, people always give certain pieces of advice to folks when visiting puerto plata: don't change money at the airport, change it at jenny's, don't pay your bbs bill with a credit card, don't overpay for taxis, etc etc. well here's another one for anyone choosing to go to puerto plata for mongering: f**k naomi! that's it, that's all i need to say; that li'l muthaf**ker. oh my god! i call her mantequilla, cuz her ass is like butter! and damn, can she work it. some girls throw it back at you, some take it like a pro, this girl wound her ass up like a cyclone that just ate the d up! i would've gone back for her, but, uh, well, i got hooked by a fine ass li'l 19 year old spinner from santo domingo. i'm not saying i'm gonna send her money or western union or anything, but, she's definitely on my christmas list!
as much as i love bbs, this trip made me realize that i have outgrown it. i need my own space on future trips and want to be out and about in the city and among the people. there are soooo many fine ass women in puerto plata that i've finally realized that i have been missing out by secluding myself to bbs. true there are some gems at bbs and it is a target rich environment that requires no effort, the whole city is target rich and none of the girls really require any effort: a smile, hola, como estas, muy bien gracias, como te llama, and not much else is necessary especially if you throw in a beer or a meal. my next step is a local cell phone. while it is easy to call them on my iphone, it would be better to let them call me, that way, i don't have to rely on my own inefficient scheduling or waiting on any one girl; i can just let them call it in! more later, to include a few pics!

Great report and wonderful to hear you will be moving onto bigger and better things. It always amazes me how some guys can just keep going back to the same place over, and over again. There are a bunch of dudes who know nothing about the DR other than BB's, La Passions, and Sosua.
Since you are considering getting a DR phone here is a quick run down on what to do. Get a GSM tri/quad band unlocked phone. Go to Orange to get a sim card with a few minutes included. When your phone has not been used for thirty days you lose your remaining minutes. When your phone has not been used for sixty days you lose your phone number.

I know this is old advice, but you will see the merit of it when you arrive. Just go with the flow. Chemistry is all. There is no point hunting for girls who you have heard about or seen in pictures, because when you find them there may be nothing there. Concentrate on finding good chemistry with the girls you meet. You will be surprised that they are much more attractive than you would think from photos you may have seen, and after you have been there a day, you won't care about photos.

Glad you had a good trip Rodeo9112. Although I have yet to experience Naomi(will in Dec when I return) she is legendary and is a true sex machine from what I have been told. For those of you interested, I posted some pictures of Naomi in the photo section awhile back.
I also agree with Rodeo about my transition from Black Baerds to other parts of the island. I have always loved Black Beards, but I have also outgrown the place. It is probably a great place for someone new, or for someone that is looking for a relaxing vacation. However, people are definitely cheating themselves if they do not explore the city. Women are everywhere and very approachable.
The addition of this jacuzzi fee is absolutely ridiculous. If some is paying TLN or even short time, then that should be free. Why would they charge that? Don't they realize that if a guy wants to spend TLN for a female, they are generally paying dinner and drinks for two. Sometimes, guys buy drinks and food for a lot of the women. This is a bad policy.
I remember the good old days when I used to go down and have a great time at Black beards. Now women are trying to charge more money, short time with some of the women means one pop, and the whole atmosphere has changed.

I am going to visit in December and will have to check this out.
As always, I believe everything is negotiable.
Ask and agree with the girl in advance.
If she is going to lose a client/date, I think most will compromise.
If one wants a TLN, than I would make it clear that there will be no extra jacuzzi fee paid. If things start off in the room or in the pool, the price should be the same. Particularly as I treat my "date" well, and normally have dinner and/or breakfast with them.
I wonder if this fee is the result of guys wanting "free auditions" in the jacuzzi and then bailing on the girl afterwards. Or possibly it was used to extend a Short Time to double the normal ST? (An hour or so in the jacuzzi and the same again in the room?)

First off, great report. It's nice to see that others are starting to see what can really be had in and amongst the streets of PP.
As far as the cell phone, look around the streets of PP. There are guys selling 500/400 peso Motorolas that can be used with phone cards. I just left PP yesterday and a friend of mine bought one just before we left for use on his next trip. If nothing else, stop in at Sam's Bar and ask Joanne if she could direct you to one of these guys who are selling them.
As far as the chicas calling you, I think that's a bit hit and miss. In the DR you are charged only for the calls you make and not the calls you receive. So what the chicas do is expect you to call them, or they'll call you and then hang up in 2 seconds, hoping that you'll turn around and return the call, thereby using your minutes instead of theirs.

All wanted to ask some questions for my second trip I am planning to be down the week of dec 9/08 (pagent here I come lol)
1 - What is the charge for the taxi to BB from POP.
2 - Anyone ever try the Yasika Adventures Zip Line tour or have suggestions of other outdoor activites ie more for photography ( I will try and photograph the chicas if permitted)
3 - Anyone from the Toronto Canada area have a suggestion on cheap flights or sites to book cheap flights.

I am in Texas and we have "free mobile to mobile" with AT&T. If you call someone who also uses the carrier, then you aren't charged any minutes. We also have roll-over as well. Since I never use all of my minutes every month (and most of the people I talk to use AT&T) I have about 2,500 roll over minutes that never expire.
Maybe it's just a Texas thing :)

Its funny it takes me all night to fly from Portland, Or to Miami, Fl. Then a mere 2 hours from Miami-Pop. I usually fly American Airlines. The fee for the girls is the same, wherever you are staying. Its not uncommon for guys to stay at other accomodations in Costambar and come in to get a chica "to go".
Depending on the time involved at MRR, travel back for her, etc., she may figure you'll be taking up more of her time, so reach an agreement with the girl on price beforehand.

OK, this is a post for you MRR veterans that are out there. I have a couple questions for you.
First off, I am going to POP early next month and I want to try out the MRR this time around. I will most likely be traveling solo and I want to know, is this a good idea? When I have done this in the past at Barba Negra, it has not been a problem, but Barba Negra is a little more established than MRR and there are guests and chica's around all day. It sounds from what I know of MRR it is not quite like this. I just don't want to be sitting around all day there twiddling my thumbs, if you know what I mean. Let me know your ideas.
Second, when I went to reserve a room there they wanted my credit card info and were going to process 1/2 of the room charges BEFORE I arrive. I go only by cash as I am sure many of you understand. This leaves no tracks or traces of my visit, if you get my drift. Do any of you know if there is a way around this that they accept? To be fair I have emailed MRR with that question also and I will let you know what they say.
I have some more questions, but really until I get answers on these two, the others are pretty much moot. Thanks in advance.

I am just the opposite of you. I haven't been to BB. I have only been to MRR, the cons to MRR, is its a very lonely place. You won't, have a ton of other guess, to socialize with. The first time I went I was bored outta my mind, Luckily the staff, keep me amuse, but it was absolutely"no one there.
The second time, I went with my roommate, I didn't notice the lack of guess Because my roommate keep me entertained, I think you and I and Mandingo AL, will be there around the same time. The reason I keep, going back is The staff, was a very warm bunch. I will be visiting BB, at least for the day, hopefully get a chica.doggy bag. LOL Mrr, don't get the business, that BB get, so He (Leno). Asks for a half deposit. I would recommend Mrr. If no one else, Me and Mandingo Al, will be there to at least, shoot the shit. LOL and have a beer. So give Mrr a try, the service is amazing. And we will see you there.

Hey Ponderosa, I went to the MRR back in June and I lucked out and met a group of guys(one guy from this site) there so I was not alone and had a blast. Generally speaking MRR is not as popular as BB so there tends to be a lot less guests, you will get some stragglers from Playa Dorada coming over for a quickie as they get away from their wives/girlfriends/kids. I will be there next month as well. The 9th to the 12th at MRR and the 12th to the 15th in Sosua.
With regards to the CC vs Cash thing I believe it is typically their policy that one pays half before arrival and the other half upon arrival. Since you are strictly cash you could not reserve anything and just show up. I think you could pull that off since MRR is not heavily populated and tends to be slow, so I am sure there will be rooms available. Hope this answered your questions.

Go to the supermarket and buy a disposable VISA card. I think you can load up the card with as much money as you want on it. Then turn around and pay the establishment with it from here in the states. No names or addresses are associated with the card. Just pass them the credit card numbers that come with the card to pay.

Yes the price is higher. In Sept. I stayed at MR but went to BBs. Even though the girls remembered me from previous trips during which I stayed at BBs, they still gave me a hard time and charged 2000 pesos for a short session(usually only 1300) because they said I was not staying at BBs. These were two of the better looking girls so maybe for the less attractive ones you may might pay as much.

I don't remember who I spoke to and don't remember if it was over the phone or email, but, it is possible. If you talk to the right person. Good thing too as I ended up canceling my stay there! If that doesn't work, perhaps they have PayPal or will allow you to mail in a payment via traveler's cheque.

Al and I have made our reservations all ready. The key is talking to Nancy via e-mail, the trick is giving her as much information, concerning your flight, arrival, and time of pickup. If she senses you will be following through with your reservations, she will make the reservation. Throw in a few power questions, such as Hows the enviorment? Just ask questions concerning, How do things work? . Wink wink. She will get a strong notion, that you are probaly going to make the trip, by the specific information you asked. LOL also their credit card machine most of the time doesn't work. This method is my little "jedi mind trick". LOL We. Mandingo Al and I Have already reserved thier apt on site for Dec 9-12th, if you want pm me and I will add you to our reservation (if you want). So you won't pay a dime until you get there. I've been there 3 times, so I got a little pull with them.

You could do that, or approach another girl who gets your juices flowing and ask her. Some girls don't speak English, so all you have to say is "sucky-sucky sin condom?" and the girl will understand.

If you go, have fun, but my recommendation is like the dealer in the movie Vegas Vacation, why don't you just walk in the place, hand them a few thousand, and let them kick you in the balls and then head to Sosua.

I am sure you will enjoy yourself. I think the objection to the all-inclusive, rather expensive packages is not simply that you can find the same thing cheaper if you go independently, but that many people have found through experience that it is so easy to meet attractive women in the area and have great girl-friend experiences that the big-game hunt is more rewarding than the petting zoo.
Having said that, the all-inclusive experience offers a lot for those who are married, don't speak Spanish, or are new to the DR.

In the area, you have many alternatives. Sosua (east of Puerto Plata) has a thread in itself for girl friendly hotels down lower on the DR page. Too many hotels to discuss here. Read the forum.
Puerto Plata has MRR (Mustang Ranch Resort) (http://www.mustangranchresort.com) which offers both "hotel only" and "all-inclusive" pricing. They are reported to be outside chica friendly. Billy of Harborview Condos (http://harborviewcondos.4t.com) is definitely girl friendly.
In Costambar (west of Puerto Plata), BBs (http://www.blackbeardsadultresort.com)is open for both in house and outside chicas. Just make sure she has never been "kicked out" of BBs before as they do have a blacklist of chicas there. L'oase (http://www.loase.com) is also girl friendly, very nice and affordable. Just make sure you don't make it overly obvious to the other guests that you are there for punting purposes only. I have personally stayed at these last two places and recommend them both.
Most hotels will need to see the ID (cedula) of any outside girls and many will hold onto the IDs until the girl leaves. This is for your protection and theirs and don't think anything of it.

I've been going to Blackbeards for the last two years. At least three times a year. And I can say that I'm done. I was good at frist when I didn't know POP very well and the girls were on site, but now it's time to move on. The ladys have been worse and worse every time I go. The frist time I went there 2 years ago there were at least 10 girls in the 7-9 range with one or two 10s mixed in. The last time I went there was one 9. One 8. And the rest were 4s and 5s. I went out every night to cystals or bohem to get my girls. When I came back the madam was nasty to the girls. Whats the point of having girls on site if you have to leave every night to get one. The other problem the girls try to " Wife " you. For those who are not familar with the term ' wifed". It mean that a hooker will " Claim" you as hers. And try to work you for as many gifts and as much money as she can. Kind of like a vampire. LOL She will deter the other girls from being with you and give them shit if they do. This has been a problem from the frist time I've been there. I spent most of my frist tripp with one girl. I came back the second time and got a new girl, and the frist girl tried to get her fired. Then I had to hear bitching and moaning. " I love you papi '. " I don't want you with other girls " Who wants to deal with that? Then they sit there all day and anoy the shit out of you to fuck them or buy them food/beer. The bed were so hard they gave me a sick back ache. The cab drivers that come to black beards are there to ripp you off. For a 10 dollar ride they will try to get 50 bucks off you. The negatives are to much for me to go back. I am thinking about a week in POP and well Ok call me a dumb ass but I HAVE read the forum quite a bit but I have not been to DR yet and I would like to know what MRR is.
Also I hope someone can tell me if the town is very big. Like if I wanted to go from BB to MR would I be walking or taking a cab or what. How are the taxis there. Finally what price stucture is it there for a chica/noche. I read something about 42 for all inclusive night for a chica but I didn't know if he was referring to a package for her in the hotel or her as a package.

I have been there several times and I agree with much of what you have to say. However, you must not let anyone, especially the girls, ruin your hard earned fun. Everytime I go there, I make it a point of making appointments in advance with as many girls as time allows. This prevent a lot of what you went through as far as they "wifing" up with you. The objective is to enjoy as many of the available options if you know what I mean :D. If they are clingy, tell them not just no, hell no. If they insist on making a scene, talk to Charo or her assistant and don't be shy. They know the girls the girls play head games, and believe me, they will make your stay much more enjoyable. The girls will respect you more if you are assertive, otherwise they will run "games" and make your stay uncomfortable :mad:. You can't give away your power, you are the customer after all. They are there for you not the other way around.

I have been to BB's twice in the past year and had a great time each time! Although not all the girls are 10's, I found most of them attractive and friendly. Yes, a couple of them have attempted to "wife" me but you are in control, not them. It doesn't take alot to make your point with them. I always thought of it kind of fun when one of the girls would try to "claim" me. If you ever have a problem, see Charo or her helper, Jenny. They will help you.
As far as the hotel padding the bill, never even came close for me. You sign each invoice and at anytime during your stay, you can ask to review your bill.
I have traveled to resorts like this since 2003. I found that BB's is one of the better ones and plan to return in April!

Don't lower your expectations and don't listen to this guy, he's totally full of shit. He obviously must have had an "incident" and now his way of getting back at BB's and/or the girls is to say the place sucks. I have been to BB's a bunch of times and am heading back in two weeks and have had a freeking blast every time.
Not every girl is a "10" and a few of them will play you like a fiddle if you let them but overall there are some awesome performers and some real cuties, personally I like the party atmosphere most of all.
Do check out Cristals as there are some hotties there for sure but you will pay more for them and it is hit or miss on the performance just as it is at BB's except at BB's the cost of a test drive is only 1500 pesos. Gentlemen, I have also been to BBs more times than I really care to admit (7 or so times within about 2 years now) and I just feel the need to comment here.
I have no problem with anyone wanting to move on, or having “outgrown” a place, or even reporting on the deterioration perceived at BBs or elsewhere. I do however want to point out that there might have been some common “newbie” mistakes that followed you through your time there. I am making some assumptions, so please bear with me on this.
First, to “wife-up” on your first trip sets you up for some of the problems here, especially if you do not show the chica you are in charge (the concept here is being a “tigre” or tiger). This is not Thailand and the chicas are not trying to “save face”, believe me. This is the DR and these chicas are part of the Latin culture. If a chica thinks she can push you around, she will. If she respects you, she won’t. One trick I use with any new chica I am with is to wait to say “no” to her about something she asks. I usually pick out something that gets her attention, and I may even say “yes” after we talk about it a bit, but she definitely understands I am in charge and not a pushover. You will be surprised the amount of respect the chica shows you after this and the gratitude you get when you say “yes” when she asks for something. This keeps the chicas from claiming you on your next trip as all you have to do is say “no gracias” (no thanks) or “Lo siento pero quiero estar con otras chicas esta de vacaciones” (I am sorry but I want to be with other chicas this vacation) when she approaches you because you have that built in respect. Pardon any spelling errors here, my Spanish is passable, but not fluent, but the chica will understand.
The beds are hard at BBs, so know that going in.
Costambar has a monopoly on taxis stationed there and their prices are higher than in Puerto Plata or Sosua. If this is a problem, go to the front gate of Costambar and wait for a taxi to come by. The outside taxis are well aware this is pick up point, but (and this is important) negotiate pricing before you leave in the taxi. Also, if you find a taxi from the outside of Costambar that you like, get his phone number and call him to pick you up there and take you wherever you want to go.
In regards to padding the bill, I have never experienced that, but I took the advice of a fellow monger a long time ago, and I ask for a copy of my charges the day before I leave to give me time to address any discrepancies. One thing that does happen to a guy that gets pushed around is that the girls will approach the bar and order drinks on your tab if it looks like they are with you to the bar staff. I always order my own drinks for me and my chica as first, this is the gentlemanly thing to do, and second, I don’t want to get ripped off. Another tip is to pay your hotel bill with US dollars as you arrive and pay your bar/restaurant tab in pesos when you leave. This is because your hotel bill is calculated based on US dollars and the other bill is based on pesos and converted at an unfavorable rate to US dollars. Cash is king and do not use your credit card unless you have to.
Chica quality. I can only speak for myself and I have noticed that the quality of the chicas can be hit or miss at times, but this has not been an issue for me. I can count on one hand the times I felt I could not find a chica that got my juices flowing, but it can happen. I am always knowledgeable of my being in competition with my fellow hotel guests for the girls and I strike quickly if I see something I like. You snooze, you lose. Keep an eye out when you have morning coffee for the talent that leaves that morning. Make appointments with the chicas for that afternoon or evening if you like what you see. If she is busy, the worst thing that will happen is she tells you she can’t because she is “wifed-up”. Learn some basic Spanish. I tend to look for the “wallflowers” that do not approach me because they speak no English. I do this first because I don’t really like the more professional chicas (“the players” I call them, and a higher percentage of “players” will speak English) and second, the more shy chicas who speak no English (the “non-players”) are relieved to be with someone for the evening that they can actually talk to and not just sit there and smile and stare at until it is time for bedroom activities. I tend to get more GFE because of this.

I can't explain why, but BB's has never been my kind of place. I've been there a number of times although, after the first two times I took a chica from there, I stopped pulling from there. Learn some basic Spanish. I tend to look for the “wallflowers” that do not approach me because they speak no English. DR girls are stunningly attractive, but many of the photographs you see don't capture their real personalities, for example most have wonderful smiles and eyes and once those eyes are focused on yours, you will find it hard to resist. (I know this because my wife is a very beautiful Dominicana, arguably the best looking woman in the city where I live, but she doesn't look good in photos unless she is smiling.) Also you have to take into account that professional glamour photos can make quite ordinary-looking girls look wonderful (seel link to escort site in previous post on this page for good examples of this).
BBs is probably the better bet. I have stayed at both, though at Mustang before it was Mustang. Yes you can stay at BB and get girls from Kristal Club if you wish. BBs is right at the beach and in a very pleasant setting with many beautiful flowering trees, a few shops and restaurants within walking distance, no loud traffic.

Just to let you know I am planning to write full reports either during or after my trip here at BB's, but just thought I'd get you guys warmed up for them.

One other point aside. I am no longer a spring chicken (I'm 53) and I do not know if others ran into this, but I thought I would throw it out there.
