Sept 22 to Sept 26 was my visit to Black Beards and boy what a visit it was.

I live in Puerto Rico so im blessed to know spanish and a plane ride is only an hour to Dominican Rep. Little did i know one of these things wouldnt matter in the slightest.

American Eagle are bastards. Even though i live an hour away from the Dominican Rep by plane the ticket set me back a mugging price of 300 dollars!! the cheap flights are to Santo Domingo but the Santo Domingo Airport is 3 1/2 hours away from the hotel. And i sure as hell wasnt about to take a crummy cab down dirt roads full of pot holes to my hotel. But i had no choice but to pay the ridiculous fare since American Eagle holds a monopoly on the Dominican Rep.

Having been to the Santo Domingo Airport i was ready for swarms of people trying to grab my bags or beg for money. I wasnt prepared for the corruption at the airport. In customs the guard demanded i give my female inspector a tip. Stupidly thinking if i gave her a tip i would be green light, i foolishly gave her 3 dollars. When she saw my laptop she sent me to the manager. A bell boy grabbed my bag without asking me and led me to a room full of nervouse Dominicans. I was told that i had nothing to worry about and i was sent on my way, the bell boy said "See i talked to him thats why he let you go, 5 Dollars please" . That pissed me off, i told him no. He started to argue in which i shoved a dollar in his hand and ran toward my cab. But i wasnt quick enough because another bell boy grabbed my bad and took it toward the curve just a few feet away and held out his hand for a tip. (ARRRRGH!!!)

I was given a chance to relax with the cab Black Beard Arranged. The taxi driver was pleasent and pushy. As we came out of the airport i saw a nice looking dominican girl waiting for the buss in a pink tank top. She smiled at me and waved. I knew i would have a good vacation after that.

The hotel is located just 25 minutes from the airport the drive is mostly straight through. You pass allot of farm land and paved streets but you also notice that the best properties are either European Comunities, European or American Business, Banks, or All Inclusive Hotels. Its almost funny that it on a street youll see beautifull lawn and modern arquitecture of a Bank or whatnot and then next to it will be the lot that wasnt sold, full of garbage or junk. The traffic lights dont work and soon you realize that Dominicans choice of transpertation are dirt bikes. This is because their cheap and not to expensive to repair.

As soon as you pass a Texaco up a head there is a dirt road that is the entrance of Costmbar where the hotel is located. This is a bad road so make sure to brace yourself for a bumpy ride. Once inside Costmbar it feels extremly safe and very friendly. There are a few resturants in the area although i never got to explore Costmbar fully there are more hotels than just black beards, there are also massage theraphy places, farmacies, and anyone willing to sell you anything.

The hotel was smaller than i expected since the pictures make it look so huge. There was no one at the front desk so the bartender (which also is the assistant manager) checked me in. I had orderd a Jacuzzi Suite so i was ploping down 55 dollars per night but i only had it for 2 nights after that i would be sent to a Single Deluxe (45 per night). The Jacuzzi Suite left something to be desired. The room looked like an old attick that was converted to a room. The closet looked pretty cheap and the TV was nailed to the wall and was too far and too small to be seen properly. The Jacuzzi was okay but i had scene better. The Toilet was placed in a weird position it was over looking the Jacuzzi, you had to climb two flights of mini steps to take a [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140). No shampoos either.

But hey screw that, the chicas was what i came for! I went down to the bar and nervousely drank a pepsi while i observed the Chicas. Man was i scared, there were a few but most were not pretty. I made nervouse small talk with some guys. And turned down some skanky looking girls. But as i was giving up hope i saw a 7 at the pool, we gave each other looks and when she came out of the pool to go to the bathroom i made sure i was in her way. We made small talk and i nervousely asked her to my room to try my jacuzzi. She was just what i needed. She made me feel relaxed, didnt presure and she gave the best BBBJ i have had. Actually it was my first Bare Back since in PR the only people who give BBBJ are street walkers. Anyway after a nice jacuzzi and sex J'Lo and I headed down to the bar.

I asked about the book they had. I must say i was not impressed some of the girls from the website are in the book, but not all. There are one or two included but it really isnt that great. I soon realized that better looking girls would start arriving at 3:30pm to 9:30/10:00pm after this the guest start thing out and so do the girls, except the skanky ones who sadly stay till the end.

I soon hooked up with another chica called Wanda. She was older but wow what an animal. I guess i was her type because she ripped my clothes off.
After that amazing sex i came downstairs for some Dinner, the prices were resonable but the food i was too learn was a dice game, the simpler the bteer the more elaborate the uneatable it would get. Breakfest is the best, they make some mean eggs and some great sausages. Their snacks are very good. But their burgers are the worst.

Blackbeards is a very relaxed enviorment and since its small your forced to interact with people. Not to mention there are no phones in your room. The only phone is one in the lobby and you have to buy a calling card for a 50 pesos (about a 2.00), 100 Pesos (5.00) or 300 pesos (15.00). But soon i was making friends.

The girls at black beards have two prices. For a short time like probably 3 hours the price is 1500 pesos (50 dollars) for an all nighter full time girl the price is 3000 pesos (100 Dollars). I know what your thinking get the 100 dollar special you save money. Not really, when you pick one of those girls you have to feed them, buy them drinks and becarefull if their friends dont want to join in the fun.

My friends made me wait for them they wanted to head to Crystals. So as i waited i saw Angelis at the bar. She had the best looking breats i had ever scene. So i asked her upstairs to do some checking. I soon regreated that. Angelis was an alcholic it seemded. She wasnt interested in me or was two drunk to care and it showed. She took a swig of her drink before she climbed into bed with me (not a turn on). So i tried to finish quickly so i could quick her out. After a while i finally did and showed her out.

I came down to find my friends looking for me, and we headed out to Crystals. Taxi Fare was cheap as hell 15 dollars and he stayed with us as long as we wanted. We headed toward Crystals, which had more Neon than vegas. Man was it huge, it had so many girls i got dizzy, we were attacked by hungry girls. But i managed to wiggle free. But I soon learned this wasnt like Black Beards.

Girls cost 3000 pesos plus a bar fee of 1500. You can negotiate but at that time i had no skills. I soon realized that the dollar fluxuated every place we moved. Sometimes it was 36 pesos for every dollar, then 35, 34 and in some places 31. The trick is to exchange for pesos. The best way to do this is to use the ATMS they have the set fee of Pesos/Dollars every month. So if the dollar started out at 36 and two weeks later lowered to 31 it wouldnt matter because the machine is set monthly.

I never came home with anything from Crystals, i felt too presured and wanted to head back to the hotel. The next day i realized anothe flaw of Blackbeards.......boredom. The good looking girls arraive after 3:00 before that you have skanks and silence. You could go to the beach but its either mostly deserted or you have people occasionaly trying to sell you stuff. So most of the days i spent my time snacking or relaxing in the outdoor Jacuzzi (which is awsome), watching TV (it got better once i moved to my deluxe suite) or walking around the neighboorhood (great italian resturant up the block).

The brought back a girl from El Bohem once, she got checked for her ID the guard held her for a few minutes before she explained that he was reading the right ID so sometimes theres a little friction because they have to make sure they have theyre Celulas (Clean Health Certificate on the IDS) and over 18.

BRING CONDOM!!! I ran out on my last day and made the mistake of using a Dominican Condom its like having a rubber glove on your dick you feel NOTHING. Luckly some of my fellow mongers lent me some good old USA Condoms.

The managers of Blackbears are very nice and helpfull. They gave me all the info on the clubs. Plus if i had a problem with one of the girls trying to scam me i could just complain and she would be dealt with. The Single Deluxe Suite nice. The girls were friendlier at Black Beards than El Bohem or Crystals. Its all pros over there. Not to mention its pretty dark in those places so you cant see to well.

I never did find a place with European girls. But i was told they were way to expensive. I would definitly recomend Black Beards for rookie travelers who want to start out or groups of friends. Hopefully in the future the owner will ad more activities and improve and expand.

Have never tried it. Likely will not. Never know what will happen on a lazy night or for some daytime action. Know that daytime action can be easily found in sosua but getting there from Puerto Plata is still a mystery (i.e. when driving myself). Pls lets know what you think about it and if anyone has tried this service.

I wouldnt waste any time or MONEY on a this or any agency in the DR. You can see those same girls walking the Long Beach strip, and you can have them for much less than the quoted price. The names quoted are all fake, none of them have jobs nor any career aspirations, contrary to what is said on that site.

It is so easy to pick up women in the DR, why some feel the need to use an agency is beyond me.

Why? Because some of the girls are fasinated with places like Bohen and Crystals. If you've been in either you should have noticed that there are often a number of dominican couples or mixed groups there just hanging out partying.

Sometimes the girls want to go to Crystals because they get a kick out of the action. I've had girls take me to El Bohem (best looking girls in Puerto Plata) several times. A girl even took me to El Principe (another strip joint). Also, if the girls are from Puerto Plata they usually know one of the girls in these places. There is even a girl who works both at Blackbeards during the day and Crystals at night. Crystals originally allowed outside girls to go in for free but now they charge the girls an entrance fee. Crystals feels that these girls are taking away business from the girls inside. In Crystals the girls give a show on stage. At El Bohem this happens but not so often. From my experience the girls you take with you usually don't mind these places. They have certainly been there before with some other guy.

Everyone has a different idea of what a perfect Dominican Republic girl is. This is my idea of the perfect girl. She would have a 1)Great attitude, personality to please 2) She would have at least some limited English ability, 3) Mocha skin tones of an Island girl, (I also like my steak medium) 4) age 20 – 24 years old, 5) Great legs, and thin, I do not care about big tits, more than a mouth full is wasted. ford pointed me at me having posted in sosua instead of puerto plata so here's a copy.

after reading some short stories on the wsgforum and spelling the bb website i took the plunge and went for a late november week break to bb.

after 12hrs flying from amsterdam holland i arived on the airport where the promised taxi was allready waiting for me! a 30min trip would bring me to bb.
the resort emerged as a small tastefull gemm in the middle of nowhere and very close to the waterfront.

the resort (i would use private resort, it's small and cosy) welcomes you with a good warm vibrato knowing you are on the right spot right now! it has a real friendly open, modern style, everything looks "allmost" new or well maintained.

to the room i had to cross bb's beautifull two legged flowergarden with a wide variety of species every time suprising with new spicy flavours and friendly colours.

the single deluxe room suprised me as being tastefull, clean, roomy, with a real good bed! and of course, ac,tv, bathroom, safebox!

after freshing up i went down to take another peak in the flower garden. to my surprise, no-body was pushy, just plain friendly and wanted to know if i had a good flight etc... somehow it clicked with me and actually the first girl i spoke tooo and guess what in english! she would end up staying with me for the rest of the week
i asked here and here friend for diner and went for another extreme good surprise... the food!

do not expect haute cuisine (go for france if ya want that), but good honest tasty spicy caribean style food. i've checked out a big part of the menu in the week and did not have bad surprises at all (not after to which tells me it's like the rooms in that kitchen "clean").

after this we relaxed. and again what's most noticeable is the allmost family atmosphere of relax and no pressure. in holland we would characterize it a little bit like a brown cafe or an irish pub. untill someone puts on "gasolina" then you will now pretty fast what caribean bubbling style dancing is (after you peeled youre eyes from your sun-glasses of course) and made a reservation for the washing machine ;-)

the rooms seem to be good insulated as well (well c-5, is), i did not hear anybody sporting, nor got complaints if i did, only some music. so we had a good night rest and even better wake up by a rooster... i took a cold one from the mini-bar in the room, my eye spotted the price list, less than 1usd, and i had to smile... a mini bar which will not kill ya wallet!

the breakfast enclosed a nice surprise again. of course the tortilla was good, but oh man decent coffee! and no problemo if you take a refill. thats what i call service which counts ands makes me smile and come back for more.

reading a book in the morning near the pool i was surprised by the tranquility of the place, no children running around, most people just relax, the stereo is the only thing you hear. very good to unwind and build up some energy for later ;-)).

around noon the flower garden seems to grow again showing new variety every day untill 9pm when only some night creatures stay. beware for "gasolina"!. some local expats seem to have a soft spot for bb too showing the loyal most important friendly visitors which help to make this place so good. it's quite international as a place and somehow it looks like most people can get along allmost instantenous.

i tried snorkling the reef in front of the hotel, but david is right, it's not much fish out there, but a lot of sea-hedgehogs and sea weed in the shallows a strong current at approx 200yards out of the shore, bad visibility and a beach without people make it a little dangerous and futile to do. if you do it, please do it with 2 people. and even better ask david to plan a snorkling trip for you near sosua.

a week went by very fast and my "girlfriend" realy made a huge part of this week but also limited outgoing a bit, so keep that in mind if you go steady.... next year i will go with friends and make sure that i have the first days to give you an update of the excursion options at day and night.

checking out i had the last surprise, the bill.... less than 1k for 7 days, in which we eat and drunk on average with 2.5 people and i had the single deluxe... real your moneys worth.

only regret was leaving the place especially because the bikini contest started at the time i left ;-(( there will be a next year though.

bottom line if you are looking for a friendly peacefull place with an excellent flowergarden which does not want to ambush you! like me hate to sit on top of disco's or be in >100people hotels, get mugged at the check-out etc. then look no further. bb is it! next year i will be back with friend's and i guess it will be more than once.

Reality, Im also from Puerto Rico, I ussually take the American Eagle flights to Santo Domingo, they are cheaper than the Puerto Plata flights. At Santo Domingo I take the Caribe Tour Buses to Puerto Plata, they are Air conditioned Bus with TV and very comfortable, they depart every hour. Bus fare to Puerto Plata is around $7 dollars.

The bus aint that bad, I did it about a week ago, twice in about 24 hours. The countryside is BEAUTIFUL and that alone made the trip. The bus is relatively comfortable but they will fill that ***** up before it moves from SD or Sosua/PP. Do not count on an empty seat next to you but may happen from time to time. After going to Sosua, PP SD, BC and Santiago and sampling the nightlife in PP and Sosua I can see that PP is really the bees knees so far. Went to Cristals and OMG, they are stunningly beautiful but were asking 4k Toda la noche. My friend came back at about 3 am and got a girl for 1500 but only a BJ from what I understand. I went to another local place and they were much more reasonable both in attitude and price. I notice the touristed places in Sosua contain some really downright attitudinal bit**es asking for 1500-2000 short time in Sosua. Lotsa chicks tried to change the deal midstream and I got into some beef over one of the situations but I got out of it. I still have the beef though... Policia and everything... Thank god management is not on site at my hotel after midnight and I am not into opening doors for folks when they arrive uninvited...

Man I WILL be brushing up on the Spanish and getting out into the nightlife of Santiago and PP before I go to Sosua again. Boca Chica had better prices but the chicks are still a bit hard. As for PP, I liked that place more than anywhere and still have not done Santiago and Santo Domingo. Sosua is actually getting quite boring. PP also offers Playa Dorada and the disco within and if you have a little game you can get some white girls there on vax or those working there.

A car brings on possiblities that you may never believe existed! You need a car do do shit right in the DR whether you rent a driver or you drive yourself. My friend had one and he drove me around and it does make a big difference. Everyone is scared of driving in the DR, well I live in NYC so I am used to the madness. Two white girls on the way to Playa and I said hey, I am going to the disco, hop in. They hopped in! Try that shit in Brooklyn...

I spent some time there at the end of November and thoroughly enjoyed myself.I sampled 4 chicas during my stay, Lorenza being the best. The ultimate memory was being in the outdoor jacuzzi with another guest(from Washington) and down for the Thanksgiving weekend. There were 3 naked girls and 2 naked blokes really having fun. I was there this past september the prices were 1500 for short term and 3000 for long term. I like the variety there, i also found that the girls were more friendlier than in places such as Crystals and Bohen were its all business and you have to watch your wallet.

two weeks of bad behavior at blackbeards adult resort, at costambar beach, puerto plata, dominican republic. at 7:03 am on december 20, 2004 i boarded an american flight to miami to make a connecting flight to puerto plata airport which arrived on time at about 4:00pm. i picked up my checked bags, bought my $10.00 us green tourist card, cleared customs(just waived through, nobody even opened a bag or even questioned me), headed for the exit, outside i found my driver with a blackbeards sign in a large crowed of people. he got his car and we were off. i got him to stop in puerto plata to exchange some money before i hit blackbeards (got 28).

i arrived at blackbeards just after 5:00. i had planned, i was ready to wait and see all the fruit in the garden before i picked one. however, all plans went out the window, because i was so horny that i would have screwed a hand full of worms if someone would have held them for me. i met zuleica, she is real cute, especially with her clothes on (as most of the girls in the dr she had babies, and stretch marks) zuleica looked young and could speak a bit of english, which is a plus, because i don’t speak a word of spanish. i spent my first two days with zuleica and paid her 2000 pesos a night plus bought her food and drinks for my first two days. at the beginning of the trip a was careful to get an agreement with the girl as to the price i was paying her. so i asked david to interpret and got her to agree to 2000 pesos a night. i should have remained this careful. but the girls are so pretty and sweat, unlike prostitutes here in the states, that striking a hard bargain takes some of the fantasy of having a young girlfriend away. after spending my first two days with zuleica and screwing her 5 times in every position imaginable, it is time to pick other fruit in the garden.

the second best thing about blackbeards (the girls being the first) is the fact that you can meet other travelers, most like me, men in their mid-forties, middle or upper middle class, americans, canadians, and brits. blackbeards is small and intimate, only 18 rooms, so it is easy to meet up with others with the same interest.(young women). i met jack, in real estate, from minnesota, with his dominican girlfriend, annie who spoke near perfect english. doug from houston an executive with a large oil company, alex who has bought a house in puerto plata and is retired in at 45 living the life, that i will have in 10 to 12 years, when i take early retirement. tim a brit living in canada for seven years now on his 5th or 6th trip to blackbeards. this is the click of quick friends that i made an this trip.

december 22. the next girl that i hooked up with is andrea. she is actually a little older, mid thirties, but has a rock hard body, and does not look it. i actually met andrea on my first trip to blackbeards in march. she was one of the three girls that i took to the casino and disco at the all inclusive resort. but i had not bed her until this trip. she was good in bed. i screwed her at night and in the morning. she gave great head. she could suck a golf ball through 10 foot of garden hose. cost 2500 pesos.

when we got back to blackbeards, john, the owner was back from miami. he brought with him captain tim. they are making plans to bring a fishing boat to the dr and run a charter fishing business as well as the hotel. in march i did a half day fishing trip on a party boat and did not catch a thing. the waves were very high and in my two weeks in the dr i only have about truly sunny days. december and january are the rainy season. no matter i was here for indoor activities!!!!

for dominicans christmas eve is the biggest part of the holiday. family dinner and gift exchanges occur mostly on christmas eve. actually blackbeards was not crowed with men or women before the christmas holiday. many of the ladies went home to santa domingo or elsewhere in the dr. only 5 or 6 rooms were rented.

john was engaged in drinking heavily and enjoying himself much. partying and dancing was a light skinned dominican girl with a blond wig and big, and i mean big hooters. i am not usually a big tit man, i feel that more than a mouth full is wasted. but she had what i needed. after all it had been 24 hours since i had been laid. she was good in bed as i remember but nothing spectacular. we finished our session she got up, got dressed, and i paid her 1200 pesos for a short time. i found out in the morning that she had spent the rest of her night with john the owner. john it seems took sloppy seconds.

december 25 – january 2 – i spent with yaskaira “jessica”. i liked her. she was small a small petite package, with lots of energy. she was truly the life the party. she did not have any babies unlike 85% of the rest of the girls (no stretch marks). she spoke a good bit of english, she understood more than she could speak, so we could communicate. she took me to her grandmothers home in puerto plata on two occasions, once for a lunch, and then again for new years eve dinner.

Spent four nights at Blackbeard's last week (my second visit). There was plenty of variety every day and night and still more coming along even as I was leaving. All the girls I've met here have a really great attitude and you get a real girlfriend experience. Current prices are 1300 short time and 2500 all night (plus drinks and food of course). Gran Pllo is right. Guys. Please research extensively before going to any of these destinations. WE SET THE PRICES. NOT THE GIRLS. If eveyone paid 1000/ short time then that would be the going rate. If everyone paid 1500 for long time, then that would be the going rate. There are exceptions in the "upperscale establishments" but the quality there is at least more consistent if not better. over the years i have heard stories of the dominican republic. growing up in puerto rico it seemed like every young man at one point or another went to dr to conquer.

i bought the necessities. a pack of condoms (16)check! , 10 dollars in one dollar bills for beggars check! , disposeble cameras check! . i packed up some clothes, my labtop, 200 in my wallet and 300 in my shoe and 1 2 3 i was off.

the trip was uneventfull. i hate flying so i had some jitters but everything went without a hitch. when i landed though thats when the adventure began.

the airport

the puerto plata airport was cleaner than santo domingo which i had visited as a teenager with my family. i got my suitcase which i checked as carryon and proceeded to head into the airport. the first order of business was that i had to pay $10 for a tourist card, i never did that when i went to santo domingo as a 15 year old boy things sure have changed. after which i headed to customs where i got my luggage "checked"

the trip to blackbeards was pretty educational. the main roads are paved but there are no traffic lights, i would say 70% of the poplation drives motorbikes. i found out later that the reason is that they are cheap. being from pr i was used to crazy driving, so i wasnt even about the rent a car but i think someone would have to be insane to rent a motorbike since its like demolition derby out there.

also this is what you would see on the road. farmland, crap, beautifull european bank, crap, beautifull looking strip joint, crappy bar, beatifull entrence of an all inclusive, crappy junkyard, gass station, crappy looking businesses and beautifull european comunities. in other words if you had money you could have your own kindom.

we passed a texaco gass station and turned down this horrible street full of craters, soon we enterd a close circute comunity and presto! we were at blackbeards.

first impression was that it looked bigger in the pictures. i got in and was incredibly nervouse. checked into my room and proceeded downstairs.

now heres the deal with the rooms at blackbeards.

the good.

allot of space. good beds. not noisey at all. good natural sunlight. finally a minibar i could afford!

the bad.

no telephone (you have to buy a phone card for 3 bucks at the bar and use the lobby telephone)

water goes from hot to cold to burning and forget about water presure.

not much to look at. scarecly decorated.

i soon learned that the jacuzzi suite was not worth the extra 10 bucks but the deluxe was just right. the jacuzzi was not very modern but it was usefull to relaxing my sore mucles after so much sex.

the hotel has a jacuzzi that fits 20 people. at the jacuzzi you can sit and soak up a nice tan, relax and they have a bell that brings a waitress that you can order any drink you like or even a girl!

the pool was nice but having one at home i wasnt interested in using it. the bar is right next to it and across some tables are set up for food. in this entire area girls are sitting talking, drinking, and best of all swimming.

they also have a book with about 20 girls with pics you can order. they say any time day or night but thats not really true. the bar closes at 12 and only the nightwatchman is around so you would probably have to go out for some take out instead of ordering in.

It certainly sounds as if you had a great time. Certainly at Blackbeards, you will have a solid choice of women. But if you go into Sosua or when you went to Puerto Plata and hit the clubs, the talent and beautiful women there I'm sure were a "step up" from the women at Blackbeards. I was in POP in Sept. just after the hurricanes, and also went to Crystals - there were some outstanding looking women, more 7's and 8's rather than 5's and 6's. Just about any women you meet with "hola" will be met with some response and indications that going "home" with you to the hotel is not a problem. There were also some fine restaurants there and the price was right to eat and party.

If i ever go back to DR i will stay at blackbeards but unless American Eagle gives up its insane prices for a one hour plane ride, that wont be anytime soon.

these words were the driving force behind kevin costner’s character in the movie “field of dreams”.

a couple of years ago, bill lane (better known as dominican billy), a “retired” canadian expat living in puerto plata, had a dream of his own. having lived in the dr for over 10 years and established a reputation as a host and guide for men seeking female companionship on the north coast, he had a vision for an upscale companion friendly hotel in a prime location, where he could have the facilities to extend his hospitality to a wider clientele.

he found a piece of prime real estate, directly across from the playa dorada resort complex, and began raising funds, primarily from a group of friends. he chose his best friend, pepito, a local builder, as contractor, and hired a respected architectural firm which has been involved in a number of high profile projects.

as is often the case in the dr, there were a multitude of obstacles to overcome. if there was ever a classic example of “murphy’s law” at work, this is it. the project was delayed by everything from the officials who were too busy trying to save their jobs by campaigning to get hippo reelected to sign permits, to inspections for tiano relics, to tropical storm jeanne. the most difficult challenge came with the plunge in the exchange rate, which dramatically reduced the value of the dollars funding the project.

there have been people on this board who proclaimed this project “dead”, and how could you blame them? the fact is the landscape of the dr is littered with half-finished hotels. what they failed to take into account is the resourcefulness of a stubborn canadian and the power of a dream.

yesterday, the field of dreams inn welcomed it’s first customer. another checked in today, and when myself and a friend arrive on saturday, we will have at least 4 of the 12 rooms occupied; and almost nobody knows the place is open!

the pool won’t be available for about another 10 days, and they will be continuing with finishing touches on the landscaping and other details. it will take a year or 2 for the vegetation to grow in and give it the lush tropical look you see in some of the older facilities.

the rate is $40 a night for a single room with 24 hour power (including ac), satellite tv, room safe and fridge. an american style breakfast (cooked by billy himself) is included in the price. airport transfers are free with a 3 day stay and a stocked fridge on the first day with a 6 day stay. bar and restaurant are on site.

because of the sensitivity of the location and the current political climate, this will not be a replication of blackbeards or the sosua palace. web presence will be generic, and it is being promoted as an alternative to ai resorts for golfers, couples and adventure tourists. the only chicas lounging around the pool will be the ones that are there as your companions. cedulas will be checked to assure no **** girls are admitted. if one of the “regular” guests is offended by the sight of an older gringo in the company of a young dominicana, they’ll just have to deal with it, but sorry guys, no orgies in the jaccuzzi.

however, billy and his son chris live on site, and will be at your service to assist you in meeting the local talent. billy is a legend as a monger guide, and chris already speaks better spanish than his dad and knows almost as many of the girls . if you like a more private, low-key approach, this is just the ticket. if you love the “frat house” atmosphere, but can’t get a room at one of those places, it’s a big step up from the run-down older hotels in puerto plata which are guest friendly.

How easy is to find a cheap and safe hotel in Puerta Plata? Do i need to book in advance or just walk in and ask for vacancies and I will be able to find the hotel without major problems? CiaoFly into the Puerto Plata airport which really is closer to sosua that to Puerto Plata. If this is your first trip do not stay in Puerto Plata stay in sosua. There are many hotels to chose from. Before you leave go to http://www.sosuapalace.com/. I will personally recomend that you stay there. It is the place to be and very close to the action. Make your reservation quickly as it fills us real quick. John the guy that owns the place is a very nice guy and from experience always willing to help. You will also run into many guys that are there for the same reason. If the palace is full.

Once your flight lands go through customs. Ensure not to give them any money. Walk out of the airport and take any available cab and just say sosua. I believe that the fare is $20US but it is still negotiable. Tell them that you are going to the Europa. I am not sure of the rates but it should be about 40US a night. They should have some rooms and it is also close to the action. Or should I say it is in the middle of the action. Everything is fun from there.

The girls are everywhere and the disco is close by. Everything is within walking distance. have fun.

DR is Paradise to so many. It's good that you speak spanish...it will be a hell of a lot easier for you! Opportunities are endless there...a walk towards the beach or just to have breakfast or lunch can reward you with some nice talent.

The palace is $45, $55, or $100 per night depending on the room type. The Europa is $35/night. There are other hotels in the area, but these are the best ones for our purpose. You'll see why.

I would ask for a room on the ground floor like apartment 108 where you can ask for the entrance key that faces the parking area and street. This will make it easier for your chicas to come back with you. If not, you must either sign a waiver of release or check the girl in each time and she MUST have her ID with her. The other way I mentioned...you just make good friends with the security guard and give him a few pesos (about 100) and tell him what the deal is. He'll more than likely let you come in and out without any problems or signing in guests.

Make your reservations now since these days and months ahead are real busy in town since more and more europeans and families and single guys take vacation around this time.

The girls at the palace are NOT all that. The best ones have gone. Plus they want 1,500 pesos for short term! They are simply there for convenience. Short term can easily be had for 1,000 pesos or even less or for FREE if you have game and speak the language. Treat them nice though. Over night rates should be no more than 2,000 pesos. Some try to save as much as possible while staying down there like me and some dont mind over paying...it definately isnt the US down there so why pay US prices? You shouldnt have to.

You could have complained to the management about the covered blowjob. They would have taken care of the issue and made sure she did not do it again. Also, Mister is correct. BB is actually not in Puerto Plata but in Costambar. During the day there is nothing to do and this is a common complaint. BB is not bad for those who do not want to leave the reservation, want it simple, do not want to see too much of the island, or just want to rest. If you haven't done so try Sosua. Hello to everyone, and Thanks for letting me join. This is my first post and my first trip to DR. My posts will be in parts. Eventhough I was only in DR for 4 days, it seemed like 2 weeks. I am still exhausted.

Day 1

After reading every post in DR, I decide to make a trip with a friend of mine who was also a newbie. Considering his Spanish was better that mine and my game is tighter that his, I thought I would make a good combination for success. We arrived in Santiago Sunday afternoon and picked up the jeep. Although I read it was not necessary to rent a car, I wanted to be able to do what I wanted, when I wanted. I had check the map and and noticed the routes 1 and 5 would actually get me everywhere I wanted to go, so I was good with that. We left Santiago in route for Black Beards. I decide on BB's because it was my first time and I figured I couldn't go wrong with in-house services. We arrived at BB's around 6:30, checked in, showered and went to the bar.

Now, for all you that don't know, I produce tracks for a very successful Rap Artist, so I am very use to the groupie thing, but have a strong taste for Latin women. I told him what was up with the trip to Sosua and he was down. We finished eating, talked for about an hour and head to Sousa.

Let's see, I had about a $90 bar tab, spent about $18 for breakfast and gave those chicks a ride to Sosua. $108 dollars for mad drinks, good eats and about 9 hours of sex with 2 chicks. Yeah, I didn't give them a dime. Like I said before, those chicks chose me. I actually asked them how much they wanted and they said no! Do you believe that? Wendy decide to bear my witness and told the other chicks about me and I was given the nickname, "The Mule".

This coming Labor Day weekend, Im going to be in POP for a bachelor party.
I need some information where can a bunch of mongering New Yorkers can have some fun. How is Cristals strip club (is it a total ripoff), where can we find p4p chicas (discoteques or bars, please give names or details). Is there regular clubs where we can co-habitate with the locals and maybe find a wifey for the weekend. How are the Casinos in the hotels, are they all legit or have some fix.

Crystals is nice, but expect to pay about $125USD or more for the take out. The girl will then hit you up for taxi money of say another 500 pesos, but just tell her to take the public..it only costs about 25 pesos. Expect to see over 40 girls in Crystals. Rent a taxi or two, but not more than say 1,200 pesos for the night for each. The driver should then take you guys to El Bohem and Galactic (galactic is much cheaper but the quality is a hit or miss there).

You also want to try the disco called Mangu right in the Playa Dorado area. It's 150 pesos to get in and you get one local drink included with that cover charge. You will see many girls in there...some from Crystals and the other ***** clubs and some semi's and some with there boyfriends.

As for bars, while you are at Crystals, check out the few bars right across the street...you will find some girls that are working there. Pay no more than 1,000-1,500 pesos total (includes salida).

Get the taxi or two for the whole night. You'll need room to stuff the girls in there, but then again they can just sit on top of you.

There is a car wash in POP called the NY Car wash I think....I forget the name, but you will find it populated with locals and no tourists. Pass by it..if you see something you like, stop by and buy a grande. Step up the game a bit.

Casinos: stick to table games like Black Jack where your chances of winning and it being a fair game are more likely. Poker is another option. The machines are OK. WARNING: stay away from KENO. It's a suckers bet....even if they give you $20USD to start you off for FREE, forget about it!

Wifey types for rent...it's all on you and your game. You can look like a walking ATM to them or you can be viewed as a potential long term thing for the chica. Play your cards right and you will end up paying way less and getting more bang out of it, but always treat the girls right!

Your advice here is just about right on the money. I'm sure a cab would run well over $100, since they are charging $60 from Santiago to Sosua, about 1/3 the distance. I took the Caribe Tours bus from Sosua to Santo Domingo less than a month ago. The cost was 220 pesos, just about $8 for a 130 mile trip. IMHO, Caribe Tours is one of the best bargains in the DR.

MISTER NYC :DThe motoconcho is a good option for short trips. I was quoted 150 pesos for a cab from the Europa to the bus station. I wondered if a moto would be able to handle me and my two duffle bags in order to save a a few bucks (only a few, but every dollar saved is another you can spend on a chica or a Presidente).

As it turned out, my best Sosua girl decided to come along to see me off. She actually was the one who summoned a moto. She's a very practical minded gal. She figures every dollar I save is another I can spend on her. So we ended up with three people and two pieces of luggage on one of those little motorbikes, whizzing along the highway to Charamicos. Now that you've discovered this board, use and learn from it, teach your friends in the the hip hop community that there is no need to spend 100-200 USD on a chica in DR (maybe not you but some of your buddies are and spoiling these hoes rotten!!) when the per capita income in the DR is 6,000 USD per year. If you start traveling to other Islands , You will run into even finer ass Domincan chicks. what you pay or dont pay totally depends on the chic, your skills and whether or not the place and the babes have been spoiled.

Here are a few pointers:

This is a relatively small community and as you travel, you will encounter many familiar faces. Talk and get to know the lowdown on a place so as not to overprice the Market--(would u or your boys pay 600k for a bentley that u know costs no more than 350K?) You also have mongers here with different backgrounds and means--most of whom willing to share info.

With that said, there are different levels of mongering-there are places where they do have "upscale women" where a monger with unlimited funds can spend like there is no tommorrow. Understand the difference and adjust your spending accordingly. (South Beach vs a ghetto club). This not to say that these upscale women are any finer but its all about the marketing--think Lexus ES 300 and the Toyota Camary--same car, different marketing, huge difference in price..

Chicas: They are funny creatures and learn QUICK. Know the market and the going rate. Overpaying a low class chica more than her worth, fucks up the entire market as they talk to each other, raise their prices and give subpar performances. Would you pay an ugly/unknown video hoe, Esther baxter/Melissa Ford rates at $3,000+ a video? hell NO! But what about fucking a chica that looks even better for 50 USD All night long? know the difference between upscale babes/places and the regular or ghetto ones.

Once again-you are traveling in a country where the average person barely makes 300-500 USD a month if that, so understand where to flash the cash. Being low key and not attracting to much attention would be prudent. You will run into the haters. I also dont need to tell you that platnum chains and the rolexes can also stay home.

Lastly, other than understanding the market and what it can bear, know the cultural differences. Most latin men, being macho treat their women like shit. I dont condone this type of behaviour and this is also one of the reasons why these chicas love foreigners, the other being our money. Some of these babes are fucked up in the head and will exploit any perceived weakness(they will try you). So do treat them nice but be quick to dismiss them should they get out of line. Pay them the going rate or go home empty handed if the price is outrageous. Do some of them fall in love? Of course, they are also human.

The story Keyez posted about the "all-night 2-girl freebie" was indeed entertaining but I agree that it didn't quite ring true.

I know the two girls and found out they each got 3,000 pesos for their time. (They each work to raise and school 3 kids and you can't do that with a few shots of booze and somebody's "irresistable charm").

Considering we're getting sex for bargain-basement prices, no need to rip the girls off, either.

Took one out to eat last week and suggested we take the leftovers back in a box. Figured she could take it home and save a few pesos. (Her place was "furnished" with a small wooden table, two plastic patio chairs and a small fan to try to deal with the Dominican summer heat. Most of the money gets sent back home for the kids).

Instead, we drove along the Malecon in Puerto Plata, where she hails some small Haitian-looking kid on the street and gives him the leftover food. Damn.

The rooms are horrible. No air conditioning and no running water. Hot as hell and a bucket of water for a shower.

I have to say I really enjoyed my time in DR this is a fantastic place. I took the advice of someone who posted a while back about The Field of Dreams Inn. Let me say this was a great choice. I have to say worth every penny and cheap at that $47! Billy is a fantastic host and he and his son gave me and the others a fantastic tour of the local hang outs. I have to say I am at his debt for that! I flew out from Los Angeles for the weekend and it was worth it! I cant wait to go back. Thanks for the great tips guys and I will have to sit down and give a more detailed report. In the mean time, happy hunting!

Some people have asked some questions so here are some answers. Ana Miriam is run by Frank and Ana. Frank was a businessman back in the states who was doing quite well. He went to the Dominican Republic and fell for Ana, sold his business, and moved down there. Ana was one of the chicas who got paid for sex. She used to hang around Blackbeards. So was actually very pleasant but always trying to get business for the other chicas. Many times Frank would show up and get intoxicated. The truth of the matter is that once you live in DR except for the exchange rate, the weather, and the chicas there really is not too much to do down there. This is why drinking is so prevalent. You can go windsurfing or scuba diving but there is not much diversity as there is in the cities of this country. Returning to Ana--one monger was offended by one of his buddies making a pass at Frank's wife. She is really no different than the other chicas at Ana Miriam. She's played the field and continues to do so. I used to believe otherwise but after talking to many chicas, talking to her, and seeing a couple of things, I found out otherwise. In fact, Frank would do Ana and another chica at the same time. This explains why Ana is so good at dealing with the chicas, the prices, and the setup of the place. Frank is the businessman and Ana irons out the details of price, the behavior of the chicas, and the fact that she is a citizen, and native, helps iron out certain complications (legally and economically). When the place first opened they attracted many tourists who waited until their wives went to bed to sneak out and lay some chicas at Ana Miriams. When I went there I approached a chica and she was quoting 4000 pesos. I looked at her like she was insane and simply walked away. The reason for this is because they were getting away with it by overcharging the tourists who were sneaking out. Frank was originally charging the salida at 500 pesos but had a dispute with his wife and she started complaining that it was 1000 pesos and that he did not know what he was doing. In fact, he was charging me the 500 until the dispute with the wife. He later changed it to 1000 and said that it was because I came there with a taxi driver and that the driver wanted a commission. I explained to Frank that if that was the case I would pay the commission out of my own pocket. He became evasive. Frank could not even did not even know the name of the taxi guy. This is kinda strange since he should know all the taxi drivers who go there. Frank is a good guy to talk to but tends to be stubborn and hates to admit his mistakes. The average tourist would not know all this since they do not speak the language and cannot find out through various sources what is going on. Also, if you've been there enough times you'll start seeing some of this stuff. If money is no object just go and enyoy. The setup is nice. Ana is okay but if you are an American you need to be careful since many Dominicans only care about getting your money. Ana is no different. She will always favor the chicas over you (I saw this with her at Blackbeards and still see it). I could not help but laugh when Frank himself had told me never to trust a Dominican and they can never be your friend. I found this strange since he married one and moved to DR. In other words, he's had some bad experiences opening up shop and living in DR! This is common when you look beyond the surface. About that chica who is part Brazilian. She's not. I know the chica and one of my buddies had a long talk with her. She just said this to drum up business. If I recall, though, she was fine. They overcharge at Ana Miriams. One can pick up a chica at El Classico discoteque for 1000 pesos, short term. From what I saw the chicas were fine at Ana Miriams but overpriced. Plaza Mambo overcharges because some of the chicas from Crystals go over there. You can always get them down. There are rooms in the back to do the chicas and I found some gems but it has more of a Latin atmosphere. When you add it all up you save money at Blackbeards. The last time I was at Blackbeards the quality was pretty good. It is not unusual to find someone running in there trying to drag mongers to go to Ana Miriams. Sometimes they get a cut. I recall one of the Englishmen living in DR taking me to Crystals and trying to get me to take a chica friend of his for 5000 pesos. I thought the guy was insane until I realized that he was getting a cut. In fact he was getting a cut for quite a number of things. Of course he will never admit this. One of my buddies in Sosua informed me of this. I was surprised at this but then again I was also quite naive at the time. The chicas pay Mercedes who whoever is in charge of them some of the money they make at Blackbeards. I've seen this with my own eyes and the chicas have told me. The chicas always dog the tourists. I've heard them myself and this is why you should always keep a distance from them except to have sex with them. There have been complaints to administration about this and I have met some mongers who have been to Blackbeards many times complain to me about the issue. One should just screw them than ignore them. One needs to understand that we are their on vacation. They live there and have nothing else to do but to gossip all day! Overall, though, the chicas are okay as long as you understand that they are this way. You just need to know how to deal with them. To give Blackbeards a fair shake I've met some nice ones and have had some good conversations but one needs to use discretion. It is not unusual once you have sex with one chica all the other chicas will know how you perform in bed. Many times they know what you like and don't like in bed. Many mongers who have gone to Ana Miriams, Crystals, or El Bohem say that the money was not an issue. I always tell them if this is the case then they could have gotten laid in the states and not pay the airfare and hotel cost to go to DR. Others say that even with the overpaying it is still cheaper in DR. My answer is why pay double the price for the same thing you can get half price! As for places being target or not targeted by the government this is the scoop. When the new government under Leonel Fernandez entered office the previous president Hipolito Mejias had bankrupted the nation by stealing money from the national bank. To counteract this the government had to reset the exchange rate from 50 to 1 to what is presently about 28.5 to 1. They did this gradually over time so many would not be aware of it. They also raised the interest on cd accounts to 32% so gain an influx of American money. Added to this the United States Embassy said they would give aid to the Dominican Republic as long as they took an effort to end prostitution. This is difficult since prostitution is legal in DR! So the Politur starting doing sweeps to show an effort was being made to end prostitution and to shake down the chicas for money. after the DR presented its case to the world bank (the case being that there economy was stable [despite the fact that many private banks were closing left and right in DR]!), they were granted international loans. After this the national bank immediately lowered the interest on cds (immediate like slash it by fifty percent). They continued to lower it even after this sudden downturn. I have some friends who have encountered some difficulty because of this. The United States continued to put pressure on DR but since DR is making so much money from the sex trade, in the Dominican Congress they emphatically stressed that prostitution was legal. The same pressure that the US put on DR they tried to do with Brazil but the Brazilians looked at the US government as if they were crazy. The US government took some retaliatory measures so the Brazilians did the same (if you have doubts check out the cost of a visa, for an American, to that country!). Now about drugs, minors, and not paying taxes in some of these places. These serve as good reasons for the closure of these places when there is no reason to keep them open. If you look at the pattern of closings in Santo Domingo some places they will not even touch. There are also some legal and economic implications for opening up some of these places (as I said earlier, this was the advantage with Ana being a citizen and native!). Talk to any American who owns a hotel in the Dominican Republic and he'll tell you stories. You'll really get an idea of what is really happening.

There are many places to visit. When I was there I went to Galactic, Babylon, Cubanita, Crystals, El Bohem, Longbeach, Mountain View, El Principe, Escape, La Chosa, Crescent Moon, Hemingways, and a couple of others whose name I cannot remember. One or two of these places are closed now but many are still open. In fact, I went to so many places I cannot remember half of them. I of course also visited Plaza Mambo and Ana Miriam on my other trips. I'm sure I've said enough.

For all of you doubters, I have returned. I have been over in Amsterdam for a few months and have not had a chance to post. I will post picture when I get a chance. I can't believe all of the hating that I have read on this site about my excursion to BB's. The fact remains, I did what I did. I don't have any reason to lie. Two types of mongers and two types Dominican Republic experiences.

The TYPE ONE MONGER

The type ONE monger is young, 20 – 35 years old, and speaks good to moderate levels of Spanish. This monger would be at the beginning of his career and have some, but limited disposable income, and net worth. What this monger lacks in means, he makes up for in energy level. A type ONE monger in his 20’s can stay out until 4:00 AM bar hopping, dancing, drinking and get up at 8:00 AM, bright eyed and bushy tailed. (for us Type TWO mongers I am 47 these days are long over)

The best Dominican Republic experience for the type ONE monger would be a guest friendly budget hotel in Sosua. There are many clubs and massage parlor establishments to visit and in the morning and day time the Sosua beach (the beach is real nice). The type ONE monger will spend $25.00 to $35.00 US Dollar a night for the hotel and another $20.00 to $25.00 US Dollar per day for meals. The type ONE monger will buy cases of Presidente at grocery stores to drink before heading to the bar and save money on beer at the clubs. He will spend $10.00 to $20.00 on drinks.

On chicas the type ONE Monger bargains hard. He spends only $30.00 to $40.00 on a short time, or $60.00 to $80.00 for all night. The type ONE monger is disciplined, if a chica does not lower her price the Type ONE monger moves on to another Chica. No problem the type ONE monger has much energy to find another Chica that will accept the lower price. The Type One Monger will spend $100 to $150 US Dollars a day on this Dominican Republic vacation and have a great time. He may write reports on the board that are entertaining and informative. The TYPE TWO MONGER

(the room is clean, the air works, and the showers have hot water) Meals and drinks will cost you another $50.00 to $65.00 a day, because you will be buying drinks and dinner for yourself and a Blackbeards Chica of your choice. The Type TWO monger doses not mind this at all because he enjoys the company.

The Type TWO monger does not enjoy bargaining for price with Chicas, it takes the fantasy of a girlfriend experience away from the situation. Now about this guest friendly budget hotel business, I personally do not use them. I rent Villas (2 and 3 bedroom houses with private swimming pools in the backyard). I rent SUV's to get around in so I am not dependant on taxis or motoconcho.

I dont seek out the company of other mongers as I prefer to run my missions solo. To me, BB is like a concentration camp. A set group of mongers in a small fish bowl passing around the same group of putas. That doesnt appeal to me.

You would be surprised what you can find on the roadside or just roaming around the downtown area of POP. Its not just the bars and nightclubs were chicas can be found. Semi-pros and non-pros are there to be found. Doesnt take much more than a smile and some spanish conversational skills to score.

With so much talent to be had, I see no reason to patronize establishments such as BB. You can do much better, and have a lot more fun on your own.

Your Ok Sly, On Point. Me, I'm a type one and two.

I went to Sosua twice. I don't like the discos ,but I go for the variety of chicas.I spend time on the streets at the beach and campo.

This time I pace myself early on ,my next trip ,At 45 I now excercise to give myself the best possible chance of what the younger mongers get.

I already have the energy level,and I look like 30 with very little gray. There is no neeed to compare with the youngboys, BB's I never seen before. Puerta Plata is my choice to explore this time.

I've been to Cristabal's and El Boheim,They don't care what you look like!

It does not matter if you are 20, 40, 60+ years old, anyone and everyone can score young talent. A gringo with some money in his pocket can get top celebrity billing.

Ive been to every bar, club, disco, strip joint etc from Costambar to Rio San Juan. I can tell you from personal experience that the best talent I have found has not come from any of those establishments. The best GFE action always came from girls I found by just roaming around the various streets on foot. A simple smile at a chica in passing has lead to some excellent results.

With a rental car, picking up chicas on the roadside couldnt be easier. Just watch out for the goddam motoconcho idiots. They must have a death wish the way they ride. And for christ sake, dont rent any 2-wheeled transportation. Those potholes are no joke.

As for Cristals and El Bohem, I will go in there, have a look, buy one or two overpriced drinks, then leave. You can get the same quality and better at much more reasonable prices outside. Just have to put in a little effort and look.

Suggest for apartment rentals an internet word search for "real estate" and "puerto plata" or wherever.

For sales, one of the places that might come up in your word search is for Century 21 Juan Perdomo real estate offices. They are based in Sosua, but they can show you any property for sale in PP or connect you with someone who can.

They could provide info on sales, etc. They have an international staff and one of their sales persons, Kees, is from the Netherlands.

You can try Cristals in Puerta Plata...

Nice to look around and you will not hurt for the eye candy...

Right across the street from Cristals is what I refer to as the DMZ...the Cristal chicas charge $100 US and better but the DMZ chicas can be had for 1000DR...

I'm going to Blackbeard's in late October and I would like to hear from someone who has just returned for the latest regarding pricing.

Also, I have read quite a few posts and it seems like I would like to hook up with some semi or non pros while I am there. Can anyone give advise on where/how to find them? I don't speak more than a couple of words in Spanish, but I have a talking translator.

Hi,

Renting a car is easy and not too expensive (you can rent a normal car for US $ 50,- a day). You even can rent one paying cash money.
Driving a car is another story. IMHO if i were you I would AVOID larger cities such as SD,Santiago or Puerto Plata because most Dominicans drive as complete idiots. At night it's even more dangerous....because many of them are drunk and have broken (head)lights on their cars.
Also a bad thing is IF you make an accident police will hassle you for $$$$ even if you are NOT the guilty party!!!!!!!! Remember...YOU are the gringo:-(

i live in santo domingo and what johan says is so true. if for some reason, you are involved in an accident, never, ever, will the blame go against the dominican, even if there were witnesses. a bus hit my car a while back, speeding along a street, and cut me off, sideswiped front end. after cops came, i was immediately requested to pay 20,000 pesos to get my car released. i refused, left my car in hock and returned next day with my lawyer. even then, had to sign a note saying i would have to pay 5,000 pesos for damages to bus before they would release my car. i did it to get my car, but have not paid anything out. as far as other things, gringos often get stopped and hassled. there are a number of things you can say to get out of any major hassle, which i have learned over the years, but for someone unfamiliar with the protocal, look out, and be prepared for lots of wasted time on your trip. and then there is just the matter of driving in traffic with the dickheads here ....

In puerto plata you can find a lot of good bars, Chrystels, Anne-Maria, and a lot of typical dominican bars. Puerto Plata is cheaper then Sosua and Cabarete. One night is about 55$ (tax included). I stayed there 2 times yet and I am intend to go back every time I am in Puerto Plata. The host is dominicanbilly, he can give you a lot of advise about chicas. The hotel is a normal hotel but very chicafriendly. Realy an attacker and worth to stay. The only negative point is you need to take a taxi or motorconcho to go to the city of Puerto Plata. Billy, the owner, takes you at night to Chrystals if you asked him.

You do not need a car to stay there. DominicanBilly can get you around, or you can always take a motoconcho, or get a taxi. If you just base where you stay on being able to walk places, you will inevitably just end up in a tourist trap situation. The key to hooking up with great local talent is to get out and about. Honestly, the hotel is not that far away from where you would want to go anyway. And it is very private and quiet and relaxing. I live in Santo Domingo and visited Field of Dreams two weeks ago.

my advice is to rent a car or split the ride with friends.

You can also go to the busterminal in santiago and from there take a BUS to Puerto Plata. (caribe tours fe) That would cost ye about US $ 3,-..! (maybe now 4 or 5 bucks with that crazy oil prices) The remaining way to BB you can take a guagua or a motoconcho.
True...a busride is not as comfortable as a taxi...but it sure is a lot cheaper!!
Money saved...can be spend on chicas;-) Just a thought.

What I meant to say is that I have never been to DR before and I am going to Blackbeards. Their web site has a limited number of companion pictures so I was hoping that someone who may have recent returned from there could tell me what's available and what the prices are.

I was not trying to say anything negative about Blackbeards as not only have I never been there before, but I've never even been to DR.

You could have just edited the first post.

Blackbeards - nice hotel, girls available or bring in your own, IMHO grossly overpriced (the hotel is fairly priced) for the girls that are there, some newbs and ones who can't speak Spanish would do OK there if the money part is not an issue.

I have learned from this board, that I shouldn't expect to bring my chicas back to the resort??? I have also read about getting other temp accomodation but that kinda spoils it. You will not get anyone in there period. If you can it will cost in the $60 US per day (for a $20) girl, and during Xmas, maybe more. They may not even do the day rate if there are a lot of tourists as DR hookers tend to look and act like DR hookers. There are so many real choices in PP and Sosua, why pick an AI?

I just got back from my first trip to the DR. I stayed at Blackbeards and had a great time. The hotel itself was great and the food and atmosphere was good too.

Short time encounters are capped at $45us and todo del noche at $90us. The girls know that if they get complaints, they are out.

The girls were good. I, however, prefer lighter skinned ladies and they were not too abundant. I did not want for company, but if you dislike med to dark ladies, it might not be your scene.

There are always a few guys there who have been before and who can/will steer you right. For a first timer, it's the way to go.

While there, I checked out field of dreams. It's newer and a little more upscale, but you are on your own when it comes to the girls. You have to go into Sosua or one of the clubs to find what you want. You will definately get a better selection and probably better pricing, but the regulation that exists at Blackbeards will not be there.

What this means is that you can find better looking girls and you might do considerably better, but you might get girls who look better but don't perform better. The one night that I tried the clubs for talent, I got a good looking, but poor performing girl.

The owner of FOD has a son who sometimes take the guys on fishing trips (for girls) and from what I've been told this works pretty well. If you are looking for a more quiet deal, FOD might be better, but for a newbie, just go to Blackbeards. You can't go wrong.

This is just my opinion.

For the benefit of others:

I just found out about it a few months ago. The owner is Guiseppe, an old school italian fella...a good guy.

The whole place has been redone and they have 10-15 chicas dancing around or walking around. They have a catwalk type bar where 2-4 girls go up and dance and strip and interact with the audience..ya know,,,they make wrap there legs around your head and shove your face into there pussies, etc. Imagine looking up the skirts of some decent looking chicas and see nothing but shaved bald pussy!!!

They also have a small disco upstairs and some cabanas for onsite action. The girls charge about 3,000 pesos.

I saw 3 that I would personally take care of.

It is located on the same road going up to Costombar area, but it is on the left hand side right before you enter the compound and go past the security office.

an abbreviated trip report w/ photos...

maximus (who i met in may), a friend, and i drove out to franks last saturday. while i would consider maximus a regular at frank's, this was my first trip on the 3rd night of my sosua vacation.

on the first night (thursday) of my vacation, i bailed on maximus, because i was busy fucking this 20 year-old student from san pedro who had bussed in from santo domingo with her younger sister. the 20 year-old was a good fuck, who gave really great head, but by friday, i hooked up with something better (she was the reason why i bailed on maximus the 2nd night.) so being the "nice" guy i am, i put forth a proposition i thought for sure the 20 year-old would turn down (and of course, leave in disgust.) i asked her to join me in a menage a trois (a la "seinfeld.") well, being the "bright" guy i was, she did leave in disgust and i was more than happy to put her on the next bus home.

You might be better off to hit one of the clubs in POP. The girls who frequent the clubs (Crystals, El Bohem, Galactic, Ana Miriam, even Mangu, etc) are more used to these requests and are definately not shy. Non-pros will most likely not be into what you are looking for.

The corner of Hermanas Mirabal where it turns into the Malecon right across from the ocean has been a major pick-up loc for many years. I stayed there last year, and had to pay extra for an overnight guest. It was big production especially since my guest did not have ID. Also there is'nt anything around the resort. Next time I'm staying at the playa dorada resort cluster.
The Sun Village was nice and clean, food was OK however its on a hill and there are a lot of steps.

The only thing that saved my ass was my room was on the side of a common road that goes towards the beach (i don't know if it is still there)? I use to go to Crystals and El Bohem and sneek in thru the side there was no guard there .IMHO save your money get a flight and rough it out at the Europa there will always be mongers there to help you on you way and you will have the time of your life. If you have to do an all inclusive (wife or family obligations) stay at casa marina it is So much closer to the action but still you will have pay for a room someplace else cause they are not girl friendly either. It's a bit far from the beach, if you have to walk to it, and, the portions of the beach who are the closest to the Field of Dreams are actually reserved for some all inclusive resorts. That being said, because of the kindness and openmindness of Billy, because of the "hunting trips" he organizes for free at night, it remains in my opinion a very good location to go to, if the hubby the main objective of your traveling the Puerto Plata and Sosua area. That being said, I would recommend the location of a car for mobility sakes, although it should be noted that most Dominican drivers (especially moto conchos) are, in my opinion, completely crazy and irresponsible.

I was there a couple of months ago and met Frank at BB's. The word is that he has someone else running the place. I heard something like a lease or similar. The issue should not be whether or not he owns it, it should be whether he is in charge or not. I believe, from what I heard that he is no longer in charge.

I've read literally a hundred posts from guys slamming others about overpaying and a hundred more from guys slamming guys as being scumbags for being cheap.

This is my take, should you be inclined to read it.

I don't need to get a rock bottom price if I am getting what I want and it is still much cheaper than at home. On the other hand, guys that overpay more than 1/3 of the base rate do cause the girls to raise their prices. This has the effect of making the whole hobby more expensive by trickle down economics.

I have to believe that if any guy that goes to The DR is content paying $200.00/hr for P4P, he would have stayed home. If even a quarter of that becomes the going rate, most guys won't bother going through the obvious hassles of traveling to another country to get laid. Subsequently, if someone with a big wallet goes down there and pays twice the going rate, he IS screwing the rank and file hobbyist. Most of us have a definate budget and doubling the cost of a trip would have the effect of reducing the frequency of the trips. This would be bad for everyone but the high rollers.

Maybe the high rollers should go somewhere else or to Vikings or Exotic Retreat rather than screwing the next guy with hurtful tactics.

Now for the guys that try to knock the prices down slow low that any girl can't he had for them, you are settling for something that others won't. Thursday

Two large groups had come in. " New wood" had arrived. To add to the fun there were a couple of hard drinking Swedes who were great guys. I am trying to be accurate so when I say the place was 75% full, it is not an exaggeration.

day 3 – puerto plata

i left bonao in the mid morning and headed north on route 1. it was a nice ride except for the traffic traveling through santiago. a few hours later, i was driving though puerto plata. some ugly looking construction ditches had been dug in the middle of the main drag. it made the driving that much more precarious. i drove all of the way through town before making the left necessary to reach the beach area at long beach. i was impressed at the quality of the roads there and the overlooking buildings. i stopped for breakfast at the first restaurant. it turned out to be german managed. the feel i got driving around was that this was a city for dominicans and expats rather than a tourist haven. this made me comfortable.

i planned this trip very quickly. i thought about taking a long weekend on wednesday, bought the air ticket on thursday, and left on friday. this did not give me all of the time that i wished i had for reading up on the isg forum. i had only written two names in my notes: frank’s place and blackbeards. so as i was asking around in the central square, i ended up hiring a guide. he pointed out frank’s place on the way to the hotel he wanted to show me.
