Wildy exaggerated. Cholera? Tuberculosis? Seriously? Diarrhea is a problem in many areas of the world, but use of bottled water, and careful selection of where one eats raw fruit, vegetables, salad, addresses that. I DO recommend bringing insect repellant; not so much for fear of Malaria, just the pesky mosquito bites. Where bottled water is not available, a drop of chlorine bleach in a liter of water is a good idea.

I was somewhat cautious before my first visit to the DR thirteen years ago but I had never visited a tropical or sub-tropical country before. I visited my local health center for free advice. Besides adopting their recommendations about mosquitos, I submitted to an anti-tetanus course of injections. This put my mind at ease somewhat when, prowling round Munoz at midnight, I tripped over a sleeping dog during a power outage and it bit my ankle.
But what I remember most about my conversation with the middle-aged female nurse was our discussion of hepatitis. She said those mainly in danger were females squatting to [CodeWord111] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord111) when in the countryside. Of course, another major risk was through sexual activity but "obviously this would not apply in your case". Boy, was I insulted! I was only 65 at the time. Little did she know that over the next three years I would be enjoying five times as much sexual activity as in the previous forty years put together, and with twenty times as many different partners.
My main health advice to the poster is "Let sleeping dogs lie".
Ironic he is worried about travelling to Punta Cana, an area of the DR which is sanitized (as far as possible) to appeal to First World visitors. So sanitized that I would not visit there for free. I will take a week in Munoz anytime (unless it is a week of rain when one has to wade through sewage).

Later I comeback disco see some girl and come sit next to her she was speaking good English we talk for a while and I ask her how much she want for all night? She said 5000 pesos I said I can give you 3000. She said no 3500 for short time if you want I just finish my beer and go look other girls but all other girls was in groups or with local guys seems they come here just for party. So I sit alone ordered sisha for 800 pesos smoke and drink more beer. After some girls just with bikinis and bra start dance and walk to costumers sits on the lap and shake her ass and tits near and asking tips for that. One girl come to me shake her ass I touch her little bit after 30 seconds she said money money! I put 50 pesos under her panties seems she wasn't happy with 50 pesos and walk away!! She start talking something in Spanish non stop for couple of minutes but I don't understand nothing I said speak English she stop and said call taxi I try find uber but wasn't any uber around at this time. So she call taxi herself somewhere and said me.

I had a similar, although nowhere near as bad, experience on my first ever night in Sosua, but I was staying in an airbnb with no security. I moved to a hotel the next day and have never had such a problem since. Did security where you were staying hold on to her cedula? That usually encourages them to behave.
I didn't ask her to leave her cedula to security I thought it closed area and locked at night and was drunk a bit my mistake also we always learn from mistakes.

Locals get those diseases you mention, and other complaints, but not gringos. It is down to diet and hygienic living conditions, especially using bottled water a fridge / freezer for storing food.
Before I moved here I visited for three years and suffered sometimes from stomach problems and a lot from mosquito bites. Strangely the mosquitoes rarely trouble me now. I think the blood must develop a natural resistance.

Consider Hotel Europa Plaza, a long time mongering center. Also, possibly Blackbeard's or Barba Negra, as the locals say, in Costambar.

The Malecon in PP was always a blur to me as I would drive past it on my way to La Serena! I spent a day there yesterday!
This area (and Costambar) has replaced Sosua and Cabarete as my favorite place to take a good friend, and spend a day.For many years I have been urging mongers from both Sosua and Blackbeards to try an afternoon on the Malecon for a change of scenery. Delighted you have now discovered it. When there, I usually hang at Hans' caseta (caseta no. 9 opposite Zona Acapella bar and disco). Except on Tuesdays when they are closed and I move to Big Lee's (the next caseta going east). I hope we will meet there one afternoon.
Note: Get your local chica to arrange the transportation and save a bundle!This part puzzled me. To reach the Malecon from Sosua by publico will cost 55 pesos (by day, 65 pesos after 6 pm). Probably worth paying double to have the whole front seat to yourself. Get out at the baseball stadium and take a motoconcho (30 pesos per person) the rest of the way. So even if you have a chica and buy the whole back seat (4 places) it will only cost you 280 pesos each way.
Even if a chica could negotiate a discount, I cannot see how that would amount to "a bundle". But in fact, she cannot. Publico fares are fixed and strictly adhered to. Neither God nor Presidente Danilo could prevail upon a driver to give a discount. They would be more scared of their cartel and of the other passengers.
I do not know how convenient Uber is in Sosua. That would be another economic method, but I do not think any local chica could negotiate Uber better than a gringo.
Of course, we do have members who think their shit don't stink and would only make the journey by private taxi, but I know you are not one of those, Oakie, as you you have posted amply on how ordinary Dominicans are the salt of the Earth and how we are honored to rub shoulders with them. Indeed, I imagine you would even forego the chance to buy double seats, so that you can benefit from the full experience of a sweaty crush.

Get your local chica to arrange the transportation and save a bundle!This did remind me of a funny Pto Pta story from my early days, when I was staying at the old Field of Dreams, which at the time did not allow putas to hang on the premises.
The handy-man arranged for a recommended chica to visit me from Cafemba (near Costambar). Eventually I saw his moto mate drive into the car-park with a very pretty and very young chica. They disappeared from my sight behind the outbuildings. I waited with a hard-on. And waited. And waited. How long does it take for her to pay him and walk twenty yards to my door? After fifteen minutes he drove off and she knocked on my door (by which time I had gone flaccid again).
"Where the fuck did you get to?" I asked. "I had to pay the driver" she said (wiping her mouth with the bottom of her T-shirt) "and it's a long way from Cafemba".

The regular taxi fare from Sosua to Constambar is at least $45 US.
Multiply that saving by two for the return trip, and THAT"s "saving a bundle". in my book! If you are lucky she can get a "cousin" who has, or can borrow a car, and he'll take you anywhere for gas money!
That's how I got to the airport yesterday.
Trouble was the trunk was so loaded with my stuff and two chica's stuff for home in PP, that he could not get the trunk open. Aye yi yi!
We had porters, Cessturs, Taxis drivers involved for an hour, trying to help and giving advice! I even went online and got a video of how to get into a locked Camry trunk. Finally a Car rental guy came and stripped some wiring and reconnected and it opened. I got my luggage. Made my fight, and the chicas were on there way home to PP.
Some 12 different Dominicanos tried to help, and spent a fair bit of time. Nobody wanted a propina.
Matter of fact while they were working on the car I put a 50 peso note into a coke machine. A minute later a young chico comes over with the 20 pesos change I'd left in the machine.

Kviar disco and casino. Arrived from black beards resort with uber for 225 pesos around 23.45 am last night. Was little bit people inside the club in modern many diffrent colour lights on all walls sit order presidente light for 150 pesos couple of girls inside not busy yet, so I finish my beer and go downstairs to casino play little bit. Order beer after I ask how much it is they told me is for free. Later I comeback disco see some girl and come sit next to her she was speaking good english we talk for a while and I ask her how much she want for all night? She said 5000 pesos I said I can give you 3000. She said no 3500 for short time if you want I just finish my beer and go look other girls but all other girls was in groups or with local guys seems they come here just for party. So I sit alone orderer sisha for 800 pesos smoke and drink more beer. It was the guys 1st time in Kaviar and the place is a bit omplicated in that not all the girls are in play. Depending on what night you go the experience is different. He was used to BB action which is controlled fish in a barrrow. He took a chnce and got a bad one. I have learnd that when you get a girl who not reasonable in her negotiations walk away. 300 pesos. I said ok we go outside and I pay driver when he comes after 20 minutes driver arrive I escort her outside give for driver 300 pesos and quickly walk back inside and she left. I think I am quiet lucky I get away just with 300 pesos with that crazy ***** it could be much worst. Night security guy at my hotel room they was beating each other but its diffrent story already.I enjoy reading this report. You were honest of your mistakes. From the outside looking in; I see a lot of things I would have done differently. However I want to commend you on things that I agree with.
1. You didn't jump out and paid 5000 pesos. Many of us will get irritated and don't want to waste time negotiating. We end up giving the girl exactly what she wants only for her to still come up short.
2. You weren't trying to be a big spender you took your time. 50 pesos for lap dance. We throw dollars in the US.
3. You like the situation get ugly however you still handled it. When it shake started tripping a lot of us would have paid her for sleeping to avoid conflict.
I understand leaving the scene of Blackbeard. If you are in an adventurer that control area will bore you very quickly. Even when women walking around at your disposal. You've been in this game for a while so you needed a switch up. I may have did the same thing. Sex is the icing on the cake however the adventure well that's the cake.

This isn't the place for the average Sosua traveler to visit. You need to be on top of your game because you are on the Dominicans turf there. It is gringo friendly but know your whereabouts and what you are getting into.
The diamonds in the rough here are the casino workers. There are the sisters who deal cards that work as a pair and one of the girls who does some cashiering is my favorite.
Don't just work the club but work the casino workers.
I was in Puerto Plata 10 days ago. I stayed too long at Black Beards and needed a change of scenery, so I went to Cristal Nightclub on a Tuesday night. Older post about this place on a competing site, said the ladies where eager there. This was not my case, but perhaps I got there too early at about 10 p. Strip club? Not in my book. The stage is on the bar, big enough for only one dancer. When I entered there was one chick dancing, she finished her set and was not replaced. There was a whole lot of nothing going on. About 16 ladies were present. They were more interested in their smartphones or where talking to each other. There was even one who was asleep on one of the couches.
Two dancers approached me however they were chubby. There was one that caught my eye: thin but curvy dark skinned babe. Of all the women there, she was the only one that was active: she was dancing seductively in front of the mini stage. I waved her over, and she got on my lap. She didn't take long to convince me to take her upstairs.

Was in Puerto Plata before heading out to Sosua. Stopped by FiFi cigar store on Calle Separacion and grabbed a nice Cognac cigar to puff on. I rarely smoke cigars but FiFi's has damn good cigars to choose from. They hand roll them next door and is attached to a jewelry store. After lighting up and a shot of Mamajuana I headed to the Casa de Cambio next to the Heladeria Mariposa (Ice Cream Shop) just across from Parque Central on Calle Beller. The exchange rate was 49 pesos per $1 USD. Then went to grab a Presidente Grande at the grocery across from Parque Central.
The last time that I was in Puerto Plata I went to Loveras House where a few chicas were at doing business in a small yellow house. Now I have more detailed information of where it is at. It is located on Calle La Viara near the Port of Puerto Plata. From the Highway 5 turn towards Avenida Penetracion Portuaria heading towards port. Pass El Muelle and in the vicinity of Super Mercado Surtidora Perez. Calle La Viara will intersect. Loveras House will be at the curve in the road. Small yellow house. Not in the best neighborhood but I had no issues. If anyone ventures there please let me know if my directions helped and how your experience went. I hope that these details help for those who would like to know. If you want to know about my experience there read my previous post. By the way, the fish is good and fresh on the malecon at Long Beach. Good prices too!

I'm thinking about staying at BB's for the hassle free fish in the barrel entertainment in the mornings and evenings, but would like plan a legit trip around it.

To augment that, talk to the management at BB about activities. They can hook you up with activities based elsewhere, but can pick you up.
Separately, in Puerto Plata, there is a reconstructed Spanish fortress with some touristy stuff (very small, very simple). The Puerto Plata 'malecon' or oceanside promenade, offers oceanfront photos. (Neither of these is really impressive, but only cost you cabfare). There is also a cable car in the area with views at the top.
You can get info from the BB office, and I would further suggest you pick a chica you like to spend time with out of bed to act as a guide for you during your excursion. She can show you the ropes, and keep you out of trouble.

1) It will increase your costs.
2) It will stop your chances of meeting other chicas.
3) She will take you where she wants to go, not where you may want to go, and she may well have contacts in town (taxis, restaurants, bars, etc) from whom she will take a cut of what you spend.
In my first week at Blackbeards (and first in the Americans and in any tropical country) I made two outings with BB chicas. Both I would have been better off doing myself. One had lost her true love and kept bursting into tears. (She did introduce me to bachata though, for which I remain grateful).The other was frightened as hell in Sosua (or pretended to be) and would not go on the beach (too dangerous) or sit in the Merengue Bar (too dangerous). She wanted to get away before it got dark (and dangerous), which I soon afterwards learned is when it starts to get interesting.
I really think a single guy who is healthy and not mentally retarded is not going to get into any trouble in Puerto Plata city. We are very civilized here. I am talking about daylight hours, which is when OzzyHead may feel the urge to get off campus. By staying at Blackbeards he is paying a slight (and very fair and understandable) premium for sex, food, drinks and transport for the convenience of having it all on a plate. I see no point in his going out at night, but he may get bored in the middle part of the day and fancy a visit to God's own city. He could meet me on the Malecon midday for a drink or brunch.

(As it was a clinic, not a hospital, the police were not involved). I had been terrified of being held in jail, awaiting a hearing, which would have been a disaster on many counts. Even the lesser option, large bribes to the cops was spared me. She "saved my bacon" and we were back on the road in a few hours. Alone, I would have been dead meat.

Great location, but somehow the succession of owners manage to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. " Great location, but they manage to screw it up with "Dominican business principles. " Indifferent service, over priced, etc.
Like Crystals (still?) in Puerto Plata, they cater to the all inclusive guests sneaking away for a "quickie," so repeat business is not a concern.
In your case, despite the drawbacks, it is the most convenient option.
Black Beard's would be a nice option to spend the day, but you have the added cost of cab fare to Costambar.

Researching on the boards seems to indicate it is a preferred choice over the $1000+ per night places. Their website seem to be deliberately devoid of much mention of the girls. From what few post (here and other places) I have found, it seems like they are "on the resort" but not really provided by the resort like the expensive places. Anyone have any idea of the ballpark rates?
I have been looking into Blackbeard's as well. Researching on the boards seems to indicate it is a preferred choice over the $1000+ per night places. Their website seem to be deliberately devoid of much mention of the girls. From what few post (here and other places) I have found, it seems like they are "on the resort" but not really provided by the resort like the expensive places. Anyone have any idea of the ballpark rates?Blackbeard's has managed to survive and thrive by remaining inconspicuous. Their newsletter posts pics of the girls in activities like the Bikini Contest, etc. Anything more provides potential evidence for crusading politicians.
The girls don't work for the hotel, they are allowed to ply their trade on-site. Girls apply to work there, get interviewed and screened (looks, background, etc). Its considered a VERY good deal for the girls, as they have a safe environment to work in, versus the streets. Thieves, druggies, scam artists, drama queens get barred from the hotel. They also get medical exams for STDs monthly. There is a "day shift" and "evening shift. " For assistance with special requests, etc, there is a female "mama san" on site to help.
I believe the current rates are Short Time (ST) is 2500 pesos. Overnight is 3500 DOP. Researching the thread will provide the answers.
I never want to be in a situation where the chica is the logical voice of reason.
I'm currently feeling out the best time with my work schedule and family obligations to take a mental health vacation to the DR. Based on my extensive research. Blackbeard's is my choice for are&are. And Arrrrr! (Couldn't resist the doucshy pun). I want reliability, quality, convenience and "traditional".
Tourist bullshit to fulfill my own enjoyment as well as a vacation cover with photographic proof for my vacation.As it worked out, the chica was the savvy one, because we were in HER environment. As a gringo, I would have waited for police to arrive at the accident site to fill out a report. That would have been disaster for me. She knew the deal and had me go to a clinic versus a hospital. Who would have known to do that? I consider myself lucky.
For tourist type cover, there is a reconstructed Spanish fort in Puerto Plata, at the west end of the Malecon. A few objects from the period are on display. There is also a cable-car available in Puerto Plata for mountain top views. (Get directions at the hotel). BB will also coordinate excursions off site for you. Check at the hotel). A short walk to the Costambar beach is worth it. Nice place to lounge with a beer. Usually very few on the beach. Possible photo op, as well.

There is an all inclusive place on the other coast where you would fly into Santo Domingo. Not horribly expensive. You can Google SPAV. Which stands for "satisfaction plus adult vacations". Frank who runs it and his wife Mercedes are wonderful people. It is nothing fancy. I met a number of guests who are multiple repeat visitors. Always a good sign. They have their female staff who live on site and the base price includes a companion for the day. Not everyones cup of tea but still a nice place. I would rank it above Blackbeards in no uncertain terms. They have a portal where you can sign up as a member and see pictures. I would stay with them even if there were no women because they take care of their customers.

Another point to consider is these girls are not getting banged 6-20 times a day x 7 days a week by by every Juan, Tom and Jose.

Its also a 15-20 minute cab ride from Playa Dorada. (Barba Negra, Costambar to the cab will get you there).
Cristal's is considered to be overpriced for what you get. Been overcharging AI guest "getting away" from their spouses for years.
Right across the road from Playa Dorada is the former 'Field of Dreams' now Oasis. Haven't been there recently, but selection of girls was okay, and room charge acceptable. Any cabbie will know where to go.

At BB's you can get a short time room if they are not full.

I assume that you already realize that staying in an AI is the worst way to monger but that you are visiting with family or significant other so have no choice?
Where are you staying and for how many nights?
If you are staying in Playa Dorada and can only get out for a couple of hours (as you state), there is only one realistic option for you. That is Oasis Adult Resort (formerly known as Field of Dreams). See separate section below entitled Field of Dreams (FOD) Anybody?.
The main downside to this place are the prices charged, but in your situation you do not have time to go anywhere else and, even if you did, your outlay on taxis would consume any savings made.
Cristal is as expensive as Oasis but at least at Oasis you have decent rooms to fuck in, not squalid broom closets like in Cristal. Plus you can walk across to Oasis from Playa Dorada in complete safety in 15 to 25 minutes (depending on which hotel your are leaving from) so no taxi needed.
Most of the chicas at Oasis live onsite so there are at least some girls available 24/7. Peak times are from 6 pm to 9 pm when there may be a choice of 12 to 15 girls. Whatever your taste there will be at least one or two you will fancy. (No haitianas, though, so they get none of my pesos).
If you are staying in Costa Dorada, the same applies, although in this case you will need a taxi (300 pesos) or motoconcho (100 pesos) to Oasis as too far to walk it.
Blackbeards is similar to Oasis but lower prices. However, by the time you have paid for a taxi there and back it will cost you more and cut a third off your time for fucking as well. Also it could be that you arrive to find all rooms occupied, so nowhere to fuck. No chance of that at Oasis. Went there a few weeks ago and they did not have a single resident guest.
If you are not staying in either of the above resorts it gets more complicated. Why cannot you guys post more info? We are not mind-readers here.

That's on the opposite side of Puerto Plata, miles to the west in the general vicinity of Cofresi, etc. I've eaten some very good grilled fish in Maimon, and stayed at a hotel in Cofresi, but have seen little in the way of "professional" chicas there. Some cabanas, etc, once you found one, but I know of nowhere to pick up the girl there. The closest venue is Blackbeard's in Costambar. Not sure what your Spanish is, but it would help, when off the beaten path.
My first inclination is to recommend going to Blackbeard's to spend the day, try to line up a temporary room for your use, and returning to your AI for the night. Don't know what amenities the AI may have, but I doubt they compare to BB. You may be able to talk one of the girls into leaving with you after you coordinate with the hotel, but no idea what your AI's policies are about guests. Not sure how much you researched this beforehand.
I will venture a guess that this is the last time you stay in Maimon.
Personally, if it was possible, I'd cancel Maimon and opt either for BB, or an AI in Playa Dorada, which at least puts you across the road from FOD / Oasis.

Yes, short term rooms can be had (if available). I will guess that weekends are more likely to be full than earlier in the week.
No word on your experience, Spanish ability, etc, but I am guessing both are nil. There are cabanas (love motels) out toward Maimon, but they don't provide the girls (BYOG). But you are going to be using cabs, not driving yourself. With some Spanish, a cabbie might be able to hook you up with a girl, but don't know of a blind date appeals to you.
Bottom line, BB sounds like your best bet.

Yes, it is minimum two girls at Dr Nights. I decided to chose one girl for the first three nights. But thats just me. I was there for a week.
I will wait until next month and sign up for a 3 month membership so I can keep an eye out for which girls I would like to see and keep in touch since I am planning my next trip in April 2013. I stayed there on my first trip to the DR (also my first trip to the Americas and first to a tropical country) and it got me hooked enough to immigrate here on retirement thirteen years ago. I have never stayed there since but often visit to meet friends, and standards have not dropped there.
How long will you be in the DR, Pauly? If more than a week you might want to stay your last 2/3 days in Sosua to get a different perspective, although that first trip I stayed at Blackbeards for two weeks and loved every minute of it.
Two slight reservations. I was there a couple of weeks ago for their bikini contest and noticed most of the girls were on the ample side of average. If you only like skinny girls (same as me) you might want to think twice. Also there are no haitianas there, but they are a minority preference.

For a first timer, BB (Blackbeard's) is the best choice. Decent atmosphere, nice choice of girls. And above all for a newbie, quality control. No druggies, no thieves, no scam artists, etc. Girls get monthly medical checks. Try learning some Spanish before and during your trip with the girls. An on site "mama san" can help you in finding what you are looking for. The on-site restaurant has good food, and you are in a quiet area, where you can walk to the local restaurants, etc. Read the Blackbeard's thread for more details.
If you plan on spending 3 weeks (envy) consider spending time in Sosua. All street and bar action. No quality control, so read the Sosua thread for more information there. Enjoy.

And it can get really hot so make sure you drink plenty of water, not too much alcohol, and do not get sun-burn.
Three weeks is good. If you are a young and very restless person you may get bored with Blackbeards after 10/14 days. If so, consider spending your last week (or some of it) in Sosua.
If you like skinny girls you may not find enough at Blackbeards to last you three weeks. I think they have about forty girls on their roster, though not more than about 15 available on each of the two shifts. Of that forty, at least thirty carry too much weight for me personally, but Blackbeards know what most of their customers want. Sounds as if you are not on a tight budget so will probably be fucking two or three girls a day and one for all-night as long as your sperm lasts. (On my two-week trip I had to slow down to one a day towards the end because of my budget). So you may wish to stay a few days in Sosua to find fresh meat (especially if you fancy dark meat). If so, I would strongly recommend you make an afternoon plus evening outing there (returning to Blackbeards for the night) to see if you like the feel of the place before committing.
You will not want to be fucking all day as well as all night, but there are plenty of excursions you can do from Blackbeards for a change of scenery. To be frank, they are not very exciting, but if your first trip to the DR, everything will be interesting for you. Make sure you visit the city of Puerto Plata (about three miles away) and have lunch with me on the Malecon (sea-front boulevard) one day.
Make friends with other guests so you can share taxis for outings.
Do not fuck with drugs, even weed. While no-one here cares if some stupid gringo fries his brains, it can make you vulnerable to blackmail. Same applies to under-age girls. (Of course these warnings are not relevant inside Blackbeards as the girls and other locals are screened).
Try and learn just a bit of Spanish. Every little helps. Just courtesy words and greetings and numbers. Plenty of free tutorials online.
Bring plenty of your preferred condoms and lube. Maybe things have improved (other posters please comment) but on my first trips I found first-world condoms expensive and third-world brands uncomfortable or unreliable. On the other hand, ED drugs are very cheap here and there are few complaints about quality.
Make a couple of laminated color copies of your passport. You may need to show ID when out and about but you do not want to be carrying your original.
Last advice. Don't fall in love. Sounds laughable, but many guys do on their first trip here.

Speaking no spanish will make travel in the DR tougher but if you hook up a chica you really like you will have a tour guide. One only has to look at their newsletter to see that they have a good percentage of really attractive women.

July is the quiet time for tourism. And it can get really hot so make sure you drink plenty of water, not too much alcohol, and do not get sun-burn.
Sir Charles gave you some good advice. My last two cents is: if in the area in summer, try to bring a collapsible umbrella with you. Summer is the season of sudden, torrential tropical rainstorms. When returning, avoid possible problems, and put it in your checked bags. POP airport security sometimes get more stupid than usual, and may take the umbrella.

I agree with Sir Charles. For a first timer, BB (Blackbeard's) is the best choice. Decent atmosphere, nice choice of girls. And above all for a newbie, quality control. No druggies, no thieves, no scam artists, etc. Girls get monthly medical checks. Try learning some Spanish before and during your trip with the girls. An on site "mama san" can help you in finding what you are looking for. The on-site restaurant has good food, and you are in a quiet area, where you can walk to the local restaurants, etc. Read the Blackbeard's thread for more details.
If you plan on spending 3 weeks (envy) consider spending time in Sosua. All street and bar action. No quality control, so read the Sosua thread for more information there. Enjoy.

Anybody with info?No shortage of rumors there. If it is true that a resort chain is buying out properties, I am speculating that it could prove to be a boom for BB, since guests at a resort could walk down the beach for a quickie at BB.
The other alternative is that they could buy out BB, though it is not a beachfront property. That would be a shame, as BB is a great place for those new to the DR. I still prefer it to the other alternatives.

I'm considering Puerto Plata (and surrounding area) as well as Punta Cana. I'm looking for advice on where to get the best bang for my buck. I've done a lot of research on options. For me it boils down to 3 methods. Method one is to simply go with an all-inclusive resort like Senses Private Club in Punta Cana or Playboy vacations in Puerto Plata. Option two for me is to play the field while on vacation and see what I can land on my own. Option three seems to be splitting the difference and trying a hotel like Blackbeards where Chicas are on premises but not tied to an all inclusive arrangement. There is a lot going into driving my decision. First is the quality of the Chica and my expectations. I won't settle for any Chica less than an 8. I expect a wide-open experience without a lot of rules. I also want a girl who will be with me 24/7 and possibly another girl as well for a day. I'm also interested in partying at night and taking a Chica with me for excursions during the day like a catamaran cruise or zip-lining I. E. Something fun with the girl besides bedroom fun. Getting all your expectations met while "ballin on a budget" like I do is going to be difficult without a command of Spanish. Since you are mongering vet an intermediary maybe helpful given your laundry list. Punta Cana has many agencies that specialize in the type of girls your are interested in. And the activities are there also. For Puerto Plata there are many more experts on the north coast that can help you. Will they speak up and actually contribute any useful information is another story. Don't pay any attention to those who don't have your money but who will be quick to tell you how to spend it.

But be aware that many new posters come into the forum get help from others, have a successful trip and then don't post a trip report. Casa Marina has recently reopened after renovation, you have to verify the details: it's good for family tourism and not guest friendly. There is no higher end in Sosua and has never been. 4 nights is a very tight schedule and you may benefit from a wingman, or some other assistance.

I was in Santo Domingo este near V ave, just last week, and a Caribe Express had a sign out for 53.1 DOP to 1 USD. I deal in USD and I have found that my bank Schawb gives me the best exchange rates through ATM's through out the world. But I always bring a fist full of Benjis back from my country of origin. So, occasionally I need to exchange cold hard efectivo (cash baby). I cannot comment on CAD as I don't deal in that currency. But the dollar is on a serious run. But remember what comes up must go down. And we ain't talking dick action here fellas.

I lived in the West Indies for many years, and I will never travel anywhere north of Trinidad from July to end of September. Just too risky. The weather can be super nice, but it can also just pour down for a solid week even if there isn't a hurricane.

No hurricane has hit Puerto Plata since the 1900's. Four or five tropical storms have visited us during my thirteen years but none in the past 12 months. They can make life miserable for the locals but rarely affect the places gringos go for more than a day.
Two years ago there was much hysteria about Hurricane Irma. The worst it did to me was power out for twelve hours and blowing a lot of leaves and twigs onto my balcony. Children were playing in the street during the height of the storm (admittedly not very sensible). And that was allegedly the worst Pto Pta would have to face. A day later it was hot and dry as usual.
Much worse has been our current weather in Feb / March. A week of cold and rain two weeks ago and now the same again. Much more miserable than any tropical storm I have experienced here.
I only speak for Puerto Plata (since you have posted in that section). The mountain gives us a special micro-climate.

POP is probably a pretty good spot: north shore, huge mountain range to the south and south east. You're right, hurricanes can be local, and I have seen a hundred houses destroyed in one valley while people a half a mile away were unscathed. This winter has been cool and wet though for days at a time, and it does get dreary after 3 or 4 days. Still better than that sticky humid August heat though.
I'm across the bay from you, and I see that mountain with PP running up it a third of the way, and can't help wondering if that mutha blows one day, will they be digging out preserved copulating bodies from casas and clubs, and opining how the local population were obsessed with sex, like they do with Pompeii? You just have to show up to get laid; wait too long, and in million years the whole tectonic plate with POP on top of it is going to drift away.
I live in Houston. I have lived through 4 hurricanes. Might be fun to hunker down, say in BB, to ride out the storm! The only disappointment would be if I cannot lunch with Sir Charles in the Malecon with the downpour. The July-August heat would probably be like Houston too.
Since it's my first time, I will follow the general advice to head for BB first. And yes, Sir Charles, I will remember to pledge to the Catholic Church before the trip. I hope BB is within her protected zone.

I do not know about Barba Negra, but there used to be a brothel on the outskirts of Pto Pta called La Choza. The girls maintained a shrine with many candles, flowers and images. It was santeria rather than Catholicism proper, though.

I made my annual pilgimage to Constambar a couple of days ago. Pleased to report that the beach is alive and well.
As I understand it, the beach bars were bought up / optioned by developers for a hotel development (Marriott? And some were razed. But that hasn't gotten going yet, if ever, and my favorite little bar shack is still there, rented again by the same couple that were bought out! So they did OK! We had a big beach party with the locals, lots of beer and ron, and yes, loud music, but that attracted locals and tourists alike. They all gravitated to our party area, and many new friends were made. Before the barbecue food was served, everybody quieted while Grace was said.
Still my favorite local beach and with BB just up the street (where the only action is) not a bad place for a visitor to spend a couple days, and chill out.
Your point about having a dedicated publico is the best kept secret for getting around for a day. Drop off and pick up on time, waiting around and stopping to pick up a few supplies, no problem. We've had the same guy for 4 years now. On the drive back and forth to PP, I tell him I don't mind if he picks up a few passengers (especially if she's hot), to make a few more pesos, but he always refuses. He seems to be happy with our deal.
Many years ago, in every Mexican town along the border with Texas, there was always an RLD. They're called Boys Town. The chicas would rent little rooms in the complex. Most of them would have a small altar in the room with a picture of Jesus and a statue of the Virgin Mary in the form of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A general curfew exists between 8 pm and 6 am.
Blackbeards is closed, as are all bars. Restaurants are all closed except a few that provide take-out.
No public transportation, no flights in or out except a very few taking stranded tourists home.
(Make sure you disinfect your keyboard, LOL).

The locals are trying really hard to conform to recommendations with their social distancing and face-masks. I am quite impressed. I did not think Dominicans and Haitians could be that disciplined. But they do not really understand the nature of the threat. For example, I saw two middle-aged men wearing face-masks enthusiastically shaking hands on meeting today. Most locals think the virus is floating around in the air. They do not realize the greater threat comes from touching people, animals, and objects.
The curfew currently in the Dominican Republic is 5 PM until 6 AM. Not 8 PM until 6 AM.
Thank you Sir Charles & Sir Oakie for your PMs. No, I am not optimistic that the situation will be resolved by the end of July. However, the airlines are allowing free cancellations if we purchase tickets now. So there's nothing to lose. I am in no hurry to buy the tickets. I just want to work out the logistics on the ground.

I think there must be a miscommunication with your friend. In Puerto Plata, standard practice for supermarkets, utilities offices, banks and all "branded" establishments is to ban entry to anyone not wearing a mask. Colmados are not so strict, but still most staff and customers wear masks. I cannot believe Santiago would be much different.
I heard a few days ago from a friend of mine who lives in Puerto Plata that the virus is now so wide spread thanks to some religious meetings.

"The confinement arranged by the government in this province, as a result of the massive concentration of people following the visit of the pilgrim of Villa Altagracia, Migdomio Adames, is carried out without a greater impact than the supervision of access at the east and west entrances of the city.
The movement of people and vehicles is carried out normally and this Friday there were ostensibly long lines of people to access the banks, supermarkets, and establishments that are operating here.
In the Banreservas main office, the line covered the entire Padre Castellanos street and a section of the Beller, after the intervention of police units and the Joint Task Force to avoid excessive crowds in front of a large number of clients of the bank branch.
On Beller Street itself, clients of Banco del Progreso, although in smaller numbers, lined up on the opposite sidewalk, seeking to protect themselves from the harsh sun and prevailing high temperatures.
Tourism and businesses affected.
Since the beginning of the quarantine, the businesses most impacted by the prohibition to open their doors are those related to tourism, restaurants, gift shops, and other establishments, with their doors closed, and the Plaza Independencia, usually full of tourists, completely desolate, to the extent that in full activity the city hall was the only space for mobility around the plaza. Some taxi units of the tourist union, which have seen their activities diminish, transport local clients who are currently requesting their services.
Some tour guides also wander around the square, so as not to lose the habit of being in their usual place of work. No vendors of water, coconuts, or hats for visitors are observed.
Numerous commercial establishments, clothing stores, sale of articles for cell phones, false hair, cosmetics, candy stores, beauty salons, and others closed for almost two months waiting for better times.
Along the streets, like Separaci and, it is devastating to see the row of closed businesses that abound in one of the main commercial arteries of the city.
Businesses closed due to noncompliance.
Last Thursday's session was one of the most intense for the Police and Joint Task Force units. Ten businesses were provisionally closed when it was found that they did not comply with the social distancing rules imposed by the health authorities. Grocery stores, colmados (local small markets), and other establishments were also closed, during the operation in which the most visible was the very busy Las Margaritas store, at the intersection between the calls Beller and San Felipe, in the same historical center of the city, the store that sells everything from cosmetics, groceries, and plastics, has little interior aisle space, and customers often accumulate with less than a half-meter distance from each other.
Irregular supplies.
The main supermarkets in the city, the two establishments of the Jos Luis Supermarket, La Sirena and Jumbo, maintain a fairly normal stock of groceries and other items, but in some cases, it is evident how at certain times there are scarce items, milk without lactose, wheat flour, regular yogurt in one-liter containers, prepackaged meats, are currently not on the shelves, certain usual brands of salamis, corn flakes, or imported butter, etc. One day they are there and another not.
While in the streets adjacent to the municipal market, vendors of groceries and vegetables from the vans or on the sidewalks offer their products to customers from before 6 in the morning until close to two in the afternoon when they pick up their merchandise.
In recent days, trucks selling bananas, pumpkins, watermelons, pineapples, and other products have proliferated, located on busy streets to offer their products to passers-by.
Checkpoints.
At the eastern entrance to the city next to the number two entrance to Playa Dorada, one-to-one checks are carried out on vehicles entering or leaving the city, in a friendly way, the police and military personnel stationed at the site inquire of the drivers their destinations, they ensure that there are no excess passengers and those motorcycle riders are properly equipped with a protective helmet and that they justify the reason why they are transiting from one place to another.
Lieutenant Fabiand explained to this reporter that in compliance with the instructions of the superiors, there is kindly advisement to ensure that only those people who, due to work commitments, have to drive. Trucks and other goods transport vehicles to markets and other establishments and people who go to medical check-ups, mainly constitute this group.

In the Malecon the activity has been drastically reduced equally, restaurants, bars and the traditional booths in the upper part are closed, in the morning some people are seen walking, running or cycling, the majority with masks in place or half in place and people who come out to sit and talk in the fresh air sitting at a safe distance.

From 4 o'clock pm Is when the city really begins to feel the real respite, the circulation of vehicles drastically decreases, the motoconchos disappear and in general, the most active streets slow as the clock edges toward 5 pm When the movement of people, motorbikes, and other vehicles becomes almost non-existent".

Entry into and out of PP is restricted to essential travel and is closely monitored with checkpoints.
My PP regular has been turned back twice in the last 2 weeks, trying to get to Sosua. The last time she was here, two weeks ago, she slipped through on a motoconcho. She was carrying sopa, she showed them, for a sick family member. That's dedication, LOL.
She gets down from the stifling hot barrio to the deserted beach almost every day with her kid, but soon gets warned off by the cops. She doesn't mind, they are usually polite and she gets at least a half hour of fresh air, before they show up.
She's dying to get back to my place again, with the pool, fresh white sheets, unlimited showers, and a cold Corona at the small bar here, tended by her amiga.
She's likely to show up with that big smile on her face, bearing gifts, any day now. She'll text me in advance, and I'll say, "Si".

Public transportation is allowed, with extra space required, and fewer passengers, (but resulting in longer wait times).
Businesses are open, salons, general stores. Even La Pulgas.
Churches re-opened.
Schools scheduled to open August 24.
Gyms to reopen July 5.
PP Airport to re-open July 4.
Hotels and AB&BS are taking reservations.
In my favorite barrio, Domingo Sociale is unaffected, plastic chairs lined up on the street by the colmado, no masks, no spacing, beer shared.
Some restaurants doing good business with back room bars.
More begging on the street, but fruit is cheap and plentiful, bananas are almost free, and free mangos are growing everywhere around town.
Lots of hungry chicas to be had from your smart phone.

I am not worried about the flying part. I was in 6 Asian countries from last December to February. I flew back to USA in mid February. Then I made a round trip to Singapore in the third week of March, just days before the airports were shut down. You cannot contract the virus inside a plane if you practice hygiene. If it's easy to contract the virus inside a plane, all airlines would have been shut down.
But your point about NYC is valid. They may not allow international travel. Heck, I may not even be allowed to travel to NYC from Texas. I have to keep staying on top of the fluid situation. But Thank you for your insight.

Especially in a plane as the air is filtered as it is recycled, and this only moves in conjunction with water droplets. So hygiene is distance from people, masks, handwashing, touching surfaces.
So yes, if the person beside you was shedding virus heavily there would be risk, but if everyone kept masks on and were perfect in hygiene risk would be low. But I wouldn't want to be that person because I've been two seats away from someone sneezing and wheezing. Stressful. And to ensure that everyone follows all hygiene guidelines. It will never happen.

The problem here is that there are states where there are spikes. This means there is no guarantee that someone asymptotic from Florida would not hop on the plane I am, which would be a problem despite the better air filters, airlines are speaking of. Also the issue of the health of the airline crew, who do this for a living. The other thing is quarantine on the way back. Clearly, for those that travel to Brazil, it is going to be an interesting one.
While on boarding obviously and on a tarmac aircon system doesn't work like during the flight.

But feelings aside, deaths are a lagging indicator, and new cases are in fact declining, according to the Ministry of Public Health's Department of Epidemiology.

Thanks!Late August may be OK, but I would not commit yourselves for a month or two to see how the pandemic goes. A local flare-up (as is happening in so many areas, including the USA) and things could still be totally or partially shut-down. It will not be much of a party if you and the chicas have to wear masks and stay two metres apart.
I am a bit confused as to your intended location. POP is a small airport with no hotels or entertainment suites, so I assume you do not mean there.
Do you mean anywhere within reasonable travelling distance of the airport, in which case Sosua would be a likely venue? If you mean Puerto Plata City (abbreviation is Pto Pta) then the two obvious venues are Blackbeards or Oasis. Oasis is not generally recommended, but if you have a sizable party you will have the muscle to make it work for you. You could stay onsite or in one of the many hotels or rental properties in Playa Dorada, which is walking distance from Oasis.
Guys do not come to the Dominican Republic for "high quality". I live here and it is a third-world shit-hole (but a lot of fun). They come for "value for money".

I guess with quarantining I had some free time and recently discovered this forum and vacations such as this exist. While I am new to the concept of sex vacations, I have been a local monger for years, primarily massage parlors and a few traveling escorts. With that said, once this craziness of this COVID crap dies down I will be taking a much needed vacation to the DR. I have been reading the forums, looking at places I can find online and have contacted a few All inclusive full service resorts. The impression I get is that most of these places are full of crap, they overcharge and don't provide the caliber of woman presented in photos. It seems that most on here recommend Blackbeards as a good starting point. I have also read about Oasis (apparently similar to BB but pricier). My Spanish is pretty much nonexistent, so I am sure that increases the difficulty. Honestly, I like the idea of having a companion or two for 24 hours, the time limit thing or one and done is a mood killer for me. I also prefer quality over attractiveness. I would much rather be with a companion who is at least good at pretending they are interested in having fun over a gorgeous woman who is dead inside. With that background I have a few questions:
Has anyone had a good experience using a company before? It is worth it to me to pay a little extra for convenience.
Are there other non inclusive full service hotels besides Blackbeards and Oasis?
I am in the process of getting a subscription, and I am sure I will be locked in the States for a few months but any information anyone is willing to share is much appreciated.

Not all can spend the night with you because most have kids. Oasis is following a similar style pattern, but hardly anyone stays there. It is isolated with no restaurants or anything nearby. Blackbeards is in a community with restaurants and a beach nearby.

I love the opportunity to get away from tourist DR.
My plane leaves from Punta Cana so rented a cheap hotel up in town. $47 US. A day early. Didn't want the grande playa hotels. Got there to find it closed, and a phone number on the door but washed out by rain. No response to email or WhatsApp. Was about to leave. Asked around and got a neighbor who called the local manager. He showed up and signed me in. Clean room with Air. Great.
But everything shut down at 3 pm. No restaurants, no bars, only a couple of beers from the Colmado. No WiFi. No chicas hustling tourists, because there are no tourists. But everybody polite and helpful. Not a P4P town. So an early night.
Woke up at 5 figured my morning coffee fix would have to wait. Walked to the corner, past guys playing basketball at 6, and bingo! The only restaurant for miles was open! Good coffee, good breakfast, and hotel clerk shows up at 7, and gets me on WiFi.
Sat there and counted my blessings. Street full of young guys going to work somewhere, no hustlers or beggars. Never felt healthier, and now ready to face 14 day quarantine in Canada, and uptight people. I've traveled a lot. Just confirmed I was happier in DR than anywhere else! A good choice for me!
Can't wait to get back!

I ended up coming a little later August 24th and started in Santo Domingo where I got my fill down on conde street and through Dominican Cupid Which is a great site for Cultivating. There is a Chinese hotel a couple blocks from independence Square, Xin Hua or something like that. You can get a Room for as little as 250 pesos for 2 hours which is great for a quickie. The quarantine is at 7:00 pm But the taxis run after hours and I have had the girls show up at 10 or 11 at my place for an overnight. Again Dominican Cupid is where I had a quiver of about a 1/2 a dozen ready willing and able beautiful girls to choose from.
I then headed to Sosua and got some street action but Dominican Cupid again came through with several girls that I cultivated in Puerto Plata.

The biggest hassle I had was from the AA desk agent who tried to tell me that DR was not allowing PAX sans a recent PCL test. I showed the agent a copy of the latest country travel bulletin from the gov site and of course, she stated that it meant nothing as they could only rely on the guidance issued by AA. BL. She stated that I had to proceed at my own risk (no shit) and that I could be subject to being returned. Needless to say, there was NO issue with customs or immigration upon landing at STI.
While I spent most of my time at BBs, I did go to the beach almost every day and ventured into town only a few times. Nothing overly radical as I was just looking to relax. BB's featured two shifts of 10-12 ladies each, plenty of talent for most everyone present. All were very pleasant, some had a bit of drama, but nothing to get wound up about. Jenny's is open and busy as hell. I did do some booze pricing as the prices at Jenny's (booze) are the same as 2-3 places in town.

When are you guys going to learn? I also got caught out the other night. They asked for my permission slip. I gave them my Thai drivers license. They looked at it for a minute and started saying something to each other about the colonel, then said go ahead and moved the cone or whatever out of my way.
2000 pesos is about what I spent on dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Santo Domingo that same night. Not a bad take for a guy that makes 8,000 pesos in one month.

Have you heard about the Field of Dreams? It's right next to Playa Dorada if that's where you're staying. I personally hate the place, but my last experience was years ago.It has been called Oasis Adult Resort for many years now. If money is no object your weary/wary friend might like it. Safe and convenient for Playa Dorada but silly prices. Bang opposite the service entrance to Playa Dorada. Your friend might want to tip a security guard to see him across the main road.
Sosua is 100% safe to walk around town and enjoy the beach. But someone not streetwise might have trouble with a bad chica. Most are OK.

I have been slowly submerging myself into the forums here, and am finally preparing to book my first ever trip to DR, as well as of this nature, with a good friend of mine. But still having difficulty figuring out what an optimal plan is for us.
Originally our most favorable option was to set ourselves up with one of the pre-arranged trips that we found (prior to finding this forum) such as Playboy Vacations, DrNights, Blue Paradise, etc.
I've read through lots of threads and have seen drastically different responses and answers in regards to these types of places, which I believe is due to the higher costs and con-like people running them. What makes me feel most comfortable about these is that things are pre-arranged, no negotiating or walking around, we have a nice private home, and just loaded up with some staff and "friends" for a few nights. I'd love to do this as it's definitely easiest for our first trip down.
The idea of traveling to DR, driving to a home, and not having to think about anything and just relax and enjoy for a few nights sounds incredible. Regardless of the price difference IMO. So if this is an option and any reputable people provide these services, please by all means, let me know!
If this is not an option, we were thinking of doing a BB trip. I've read lots of good things, and it definitely seems pretty simple and fun! I'm just not sure if we should stay there for a few nights, or get a local house nearby and just travel in and out when needed.
Even after all of my reading, I'm still having trouble figuring out what to do! We love to go out and party, and are very good at meeting people. But we're far from professionals in the mongering space and were hoping to pay a premium for an upscale pre-arranged experience *if possible*.
Would love any insight here, and apologies for the relatively long write-up. Just wanted to convey what we're looking for!

Black Beards is ok but -you only have about 14 girls of which 4 are hot the rest are average. Plus the hot girls are booked so you have to wait your turn or settle for the not so hot girls. In Sosua there are a couple hundred grls chasing you. You can walk almost everywhere from beaches to clubs. Many decent places to eat and fellowship with scores of like minded guys. For me it is a no brainrer.

Well gentlemen, I started planning for this trip in April. I decide to go with a Medellin approach and started building a large FB group of girls. This would be my first extended trip in the town of Puerto Plata and I went back about 5 years on the boards to get a good feel on the city. Two things to note, I'm pretty well versed in the DR and my Spanish is above average. I stayed in an apartment near La Sirena Supermarket.
The chicas!
First and foremost, my FB plan worked out great. It just took awhile to build my roster. I always started by telling the chicas to not ask me for money before meeting. Any that did were removed from the list of girls I wanted to meet. Any that made the cut were moved over to WhatsApp ASAP. The women get lost on FB messenger because the direct messages get mixed in with the hundreds of comments they receive from the daily stories they post. #eyeroll.
The women / girls I met were a pretty big variety. Semi pros, civilians, a married chica, and some younger students. I would always start by asking if they are going to school or working. I'll also ask if they have kids. Usually by that alone you'll determine what kinda chica you're dealing with. School or work generally means you'll have to plan on two dates before any action. Not always, but that seemed to be the norm.
I would leave it open for them as to what they wanted to do with our time: food, swim at the pool, or come over and have some drinks and watch a movie / music. This was another way to determine what kinda chica you're dealing with. 90% were fine with coming over and "drinking / listening to music. ".
I often triple booked dates as the women are pretty flakey, forgetful, or just non responsive when you need an answer. Don't even think about booking a date more than one day in advance. Pea brains don't operate that way. Most chicas would reach out in the morning to see what I had going on for the day.
The pros that I chatted with on messenger would always talk money. I immediately disqualified them.
The girls love to make last minute changes before a date. "I need to bring my friend, sister, neighbor, brother. " I would just cancel the date when they would pull that crap last minute. They also love to leave shit behind. No way it's unintentional. Every single one did it. Clothes, toothbrush, hair stuff, or watches.
The cell phone addicted chicas. : I would call them out with this crappy behavior and if they didn't adjust, date over. No patience.
Another red flag is any chica that prefers to go to dinner and complains about her meal or has to make 26 changes to the order. She is bound to be a problem. Eject!
FB chicas that I met that I wouldn't waste my time on again:
Rosanna Celestino-stalker.
Lily Gonzalez-boring / phone addict.
Collado Yarlenis Michelle-boring / difficult.
Vianelly Nicole Quiroz-cat fish.
Hatianas were, as mentioned before, so much easier to deal with. Much better service than the Dominicans. I took my top draft pick to Sosua one night to watch the UFC fights. I wasnt impressed with the quality there at all.
The chicas love to post pictures and videos of you or your apartment on FB. This could definitely cause drama as your mutual FB connections will see this and ask about it. Remember, you're operating in a pretty small circle if you go the FB route.
The underage FB chicas are definitely out there. Usually they are lurking behind someone else's profile. They will be the ones without a cedula and will ask if you're in a hotel or apartment. Warning flags for sure. Never trust a chicas name or age on her FB profile.
Not one of my chicas that I spent time with drank a lot or got drunk. Not in their culture I guess. Santo Domingo chicas can really throw them back.
None of my chicas asked for money but I always gave $60 and sometimes a small gift. Those that spent the night without even asking, got a bit more. Almost all the chicas paid their own way to my place. I would try to Uber them home but some were so far out in the sticks that it was pretty much impossible. Oh and be sure to ask if they will have cell service while they are traveling to you. Makes things a helluva lot easier if they do.
And as always, chicas will run as late as you'll let them. I noticed once I would cancel, they would be right on time on the next opportunity they got. Set expectations.
Nightlife.
I hit a lot of the nightlife spots. All were pretty good but the entire city is pretty quiet Monday-Thursday. Most places closed at midnight.
My one big hang up in the DR is that most people go out in groups and do not interact with others. You really have to have your Spanish game to go up to a group of people that all know each other and shoot your shot.
Sunday is the night to be on the Malecon. It's packed, especially around Miami / Atlanta nights bar.
Places I enjoyed the most.
Latin bar. -Definitely some WGs in here. Thursday night was stripper show night. That was cool to watch.
Miami disco and bar / Atlanta lights Malecon-Sunday!
Chalos Corner-Bar. Locals! Cool!
Golden Roof Bar-Date spot. Tue is Karaoke.
Food. No shortage of good food on the cheap or on the "high end".

Las Palmas-Italian.

General notes on Puerto Plata.
-Moto taxis make it easy to get around 50/100/150 pesos based on distance. Always ask in advance. Anyone that doesn't give you a direct answer is a scammer and you walk away. Did that a few times. No patience.
Puerto Plata is a very well lit city. Walked a ton, even late at night, and never felt unsafe. Only felt bad by alerting so many barking dogs as I walked home.
-Uber is 75% pain in the A in Puerto Plata. The drivers want to negotiate fares quite often. Definitely against Uber policy but so many do it. I doubled the tip on any driver that didn't give me grief by asking me to pay more before arriving. Another option is you just ignore their messages when they start writing to you, but they may never show up. The best Uber driver / taxi guy I found was Leivy Lopez (PM for info). His rates were the best and I used him regularly by the end of my trip.
-Montellano is the hornets nest of hot Hatianas that know how to give great service. I plan to explore it in the future.
I stayed in a super modern apartment near La Sirena. No security, just cameras, so you better be good at vetting your chicas. PM me for the air be&be details.
Took my Covid antigen test 1 day before departing. Went to Referencia Laboratorio. Wow they are good. 1750 pesos. Super fast, 10 minutes in and out on a Friday. And she was more gentle then the gringo hater in Medellin LOL.

Well gentlemen, I started planning for this trip in April. I decide to go with a Medellin approach and started building a large FB group of girls. This would be my first extended trip in the town of Puerto Plata and I went back about 5 years on the boards to get a good feel on the city. Two things to note, I'm pretty well versed in the DR and my Spanish is above average. I stayed in an apartment near La Sirena Supermarket.
The chicas!
First and foremost, my FB plan worked out great. It just took awhile to build my roster. I always started by telling the chicas to not ask me for money before meeting. Any that did were removed from the list of girls I wanted to meet. Any that made the cut were moved over to WhatsApp ASAP. The women get lost on FB messenger because the direct messages get mixed in with the hundreds of comments they receive from the daily stories they post. #eyeroll.
The women / girls I met were a pretty big variety. Semi pros, civilians, a married chica, and some younger students. I would always start by asking if they are going to school or working. I'll also ask if they have kids. Usually by that alone you'll determine what kinda chica you're dealing with. School or work generally means you'll have to plan on two dates before any action. Not always, but that seemed to be the norm.
I would leave it open for them as to what they wanted to do with our time: food, swim at the pool, or come over and have some drinks and watch a movie / music..Thanks Ttown! It's been several years since I was at Blackbeards last. Inflation has caught up. I was a visitor this time, my hotel was in the city. Two nice chicas approached me after I'd walked in and ordered a Presidente. (new price DP 220 now). They were pleasant, youngish, but everybody looks youngish to me now. Quoted me $100 for an hour including the room charge or $166 for the two of them. A little negocio brought it down to ocho mille pesos for the two. I consulted with some regular gringos at the bar who thought that was a fair price so I went for it. I needed to run up to Jenny's for some dinero at the ATM and one of them gave me a ride on her scooter. That was fun too. As we were getting the room they tried to upsell me that it was $20 more but a deal is a deal and we got the key for my 8 mille. The session was fun with both of them, an experience I haven't had for a long time. Good VFM. One more beer and a chat with some gringos at the bar before leaving and heading back to my hotel. Went both ways on a motoconcho for DP 700. That ride was almost as much fun and exciting as the session.

Weather was terrible. Tons of rain. Unusual for this time of the year. Notes I took:
More obvious WG's on Malecon were present. The majority were around the corner of the malecon by the central area.
More energy in the city. Things are picking up.
FB was good to me again. Of the women I met, all but one were from FB. 1 from Tinder. 0 from Seeking.
Most are late so I would just cancel after 25 minutes and move on. Set standards that you don't put up with them arriving late.
FB waste of time chicas. Poor performance or not attractive or just too needy.

For the dudes looking to avoid or dodge the single moms. Its so easy to look at pictures and see who is trying to hide the baby damage. Look for the chicas that could show their belly button but have their pants / skirt / whatever pulled up high enough to cover it. Don't plan to rent a car (heard they have special tags that police target for bribes, and really, don't' want to worry, be responsible for, or think about a car) but take uber instead, they seem cheap enough there, unless there's good reason not to. New to the the are but not new to international traveling, third world countries, watching my back, etc. Know how to defend myself but prefer to have no reason to and avoid trouble / trouble areas. I speak decent Spanish, getting better but definitely not fluent. I'm not a flashy person, I know I will stick out like a sore thumb but don't plan on walking around with jewelry, a visible wallet, with my phone out, etc.
Obviously this forum is about mongering, I am not above this and it's a good back up plan but I plan on meeting some civilian girls I've been chatting and tinder and some other apps are popping for me pretty well. I rented a NICE Airbnb in town, near the main road, Av 27 de Febrero. Has a nice view and I definitely cleared it with the owner that it was okay to have company.
