Any experience with hiring conchos on a longer term fixed fee plus gas basis? I asked a concho in Sosua that I was taking to PP what he would charge for that and he gave me a very low bid, like 500 pesos plus gas for the day. It occurred to me to ask because I knew he'd just been sitting in front of my hotel for at least 4 hours without a fare that day. I didn't have a chance to try it on that trip. The bid made sense to me on the basis that his average net income for a day may be less than 500 pesos. After all that would be 10,000 pesos/month for a 40 hour week which would be a pretty good job by local standards.
It might be worthwhile to hire the cab for the day or the evening and ask the guy to take you to any local bars or places he thinks are good to meet chicas or to hook you up with chicas of a described type he may know. After a few tries one might hook up with a concho who is worth knowing.
I'm especially interested in this approach for Boca Chica since I'm doubtful my language skills and game are quite up to the full scale Helpmann approach of finding a good location and waiting for them to come to me.
Just cruising around locally with frequent stops wouldn't cost much in gas and he'd have to agree to take limited cervesas since he's driving anyway so even if the cost is 1000 pesos plus gas it would be less than or equal to a rental without any of the liability/legal risks (and a free preprogrammed local navigation system).
This seems like a good idea but if it's such a good idea I ought to have heard more mention of it being done. Maybe my numbers are off and cabs aren't readily available that cheap, or there are other complications I don't see. I do remember seeing taxi stands in the smaller towns (like BC and Sosua) that always seemed pretty sleepy with few fares. I know these guys have a strong union but I haven't ever heard that this breaks any rules.

Don't eat at the restaurant that is for gates 6-10. It had more roaches that a little bit. I even saw one crawling out of the top of the hot ass coffee thinggie. Make sure you are good and full before going to that airport.Eat at gate 6-10 no problem but the price. Cheeseburger, fries, soda .$9.00

Nice hotel with a great view, 3rd floor room w/o a view single (sencillo) was 1160 RD. doble on the 1st floor was 1350 RD, better value with view. All rooms had cable, fan, air (xtra) and refrigerator. Clean and reasonable. I don't know about chica friendly as my guest was only visiting and not staying the night.

I'm making my first visit to the DR in October and would like some recommendations for a first timer.
1) Should I stay at BB where I am spoon fed, or should at somewhere less expensive like L'oase where I would be dependent on the variety I would find from the beach and club/bar scene?

What is your income level?
If you do not speak much Spanish, are middle aged (40-55) and have an upper middle class income (75,000 plus) then Blackbeards is your best bet.

I have been to Oxygen Retreat twice before and Labor Day Weekend will be my next visit. I have been to pretty much every other resort there is to go to and truly none compare. They have 40-50 girls and allow no more than 15 guests or so. Everywhere I was at the resort there were women, and the best thing is you never need any money. I was quite skepticle about the all-inclusive concept because it is just not like that anywhere else that claims to have it but I didn't have to spend a dime. The girl quality was outstanding as well, they have girls from like 6 different countries. I definetly recommend it.
I have been there nd it is terrific, the time of my life. Actually my third trip will be Labor Day Weekend, and I cannot wait. They have like 40-50 girls and only allow like 15 guys. My neighbor spent a fortune on a big-screen HDTV; I'm happy with my shitty little 21". Yet because I didn't spend much this year on big-ticket items or travel, I have extra $ saved up. I don't mind spending it on a place like Oxygen. Will I get more for my $ than if I go to BB's, etc.? Who knows? I certainly want to try BB's and other places at some point.

This is a combined summary of my most recent trips to BB’s and is being posted on various web sites I subscribe to. It is not an advertisement for BB’s but I like the place, the people I meet there, the staff and I have no major complaints. I get treated very well and it brings me back each time.
Personal Experiences:
Rental Car: I rented a car from Budget on both of my last two trips. I liked the freedom and flexibility to go and explore the area and found many new restaurants which the girls loved. I loved not having to pay for a taxi all the time. I booked on line and even got AA points. If you use your Visa Card you do not need the CDW coverage. Savings is about $20.00 per day! I only took out Liability Ins. at $8.00 a day in the event I hit someone etc. I was in and out in 25 min. not to bad time wise. They go over the car very well and noted all of the scratches etc. Make sure you check the gas before you return it. The return was easy about 15 min.
Roads and Construction: The road work from the Airport to BB’s is about 99% completed. What an amazing difference. Even the dirt road to BB’s was grated so there were no pot holes and that made the trip much better.
Restaurants: There were two new restaurants that I ate at very often. The Beach House is about 10 min. away from BB’s. You turn right off the main road where the Ocean World sign is and it will be on the right. Look for the sign as you can miss it. If you get to the Ocean World entrance you went too far. It is very American (not the cheapest and the menu is in English….they will translate for the girls) and the food is great. One tip is if the girls don’t really like what’s on the menu they will put together some sautéed Shrimp with potato and veggies for them. It is very nice just ask. Charo’s husband (Sean) works there and the service and drinks are excellent. Go around 6:30 pm and you can sit out by the Beach and watch the sun set with a drink and a girl. Nice….very nice. The girls LOVE it and not many of them have been there. La Parrillada Steak House is on the right if you are headed towards the POP Airport. It is about 17 min. away from BB’s and is a very typical Dominican restaurant. Great food and the prices are very reasonable. The entrance to the place can be a bit hard to find if you are driving. Most of the girls will guide you there and all the Taxis know where to go. Miamon Restaurant is a great inexpensive typical Dominican restaurant with excellent seafood. The girls like it and you can get a lot of food for very little money. It is on the right about 12 min. form BB’s towards Ocean World. Ocean World was an experience for me. We were going there to eat because it was a buffet of Prime Rib and Lobster for $25.00. Not a bad deal. Unfortunately there were not enough people so we had to order off the menu. It is a bit expensive for the quality of food. The Casino was nice. * There is another very inexpensive restaurant at the very end of the Beach. I apologize I can not remember the name of the place. An American named Mike just bought it. I met him on an earlier trip and he has a nice little place. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He even has some Beach Barbeques.
Santiago: On both trips I drove to Santiago where I had made arrangements to meet one of the girls from BB’s who lives there. In June I was there only for one night but in July I stayed for two nights. Yanqi69 joined me with his novia who lives there and we had a great time. We ate at the Ranchero Steak House which is excellent. We stayed at the Courtyard Santiago (Marriott) and I was very impressed with the Hotel and the accommodations. Nice little bar, full service restaurant (3 meals a day) and a very good breakfast buffet, business center with internet free of charge and internet in your room if you like. The pool and fitness center were also very nice. The rooms all are tastefully set up with large TV’s, consistent AC and hot water with great pressure! Checking in with one girl (she needs he ID as they make a copy of it) is no problem. I get the impression that changing girls every day might be. I will be there in August and September with two girls. I have reserved two adjoining rooms using my Marriott Rewards point so this should be interesting. My plan is to register them both in one room and me in the other.
Santiago in general looks nice. It’s a city with many things to see and great restaurants /Bars. The girls in general look amazing and they are everywhere. There are several University’s in the area and the bars looked like there were plenty of girls. I was occupied at the time so I did not do any exploring…..I will in the near future.
Girls: There is a definite “slimming” trend that I have noticed over the past three visits. I had this confirmed by two different sources. Girls that don’t fit the image are being slowly eased out and the new girls replacing them are slim and fit. Additionally, girls with attitudes or too many customer complaints are also being removed. The term being used is they are “vacation”. While I did my best to be with “new to me” girls it is difficult not to return to some girls I have been with before that I know I am going to have a great time with.

Airport VIP Lounge: In June I screwed up my flight times and days so I ended up with about 4 hours to kill and I decided to check out the VIP Lounge. You see the sign for the VIP Lounge just before you get on the escalator to the left. The cost is $20.00. For that you get 4 alcohol drink coupons, sandwiches, chips, soda and juice. They have two flat screen TVs with satellite, comfortable chairs and very clean bathrooms. When you enter you pay your $20.00 and give them your flight information. When your flight is boarding they will come get you and escort you directly to your gate. It is fast, easy and in my opinion worth the money. I also had them meet me when I returned in July. You go down the escalator and there is someone with your name on the sign and off you go to the lounge. You pay $20.00 and give your tourist card with $10.00, your bag claim ticket and then you sit down and relax. About 15 min. later the guy comes back and takes you to customs where your bags are waiting. Customs looked at one bag (as they always do when I have three bags) smiles and out I go. He takes me to the car rental desk and I tip him $10.00. I liked it and I did not have to stand in lines waiting to my bags etc. I emailed the VIP Lounge about three days before I left with my flight information. Guys: Once again it was nice to see some old familiar faces. There were many first timers at BB’s but several had lots of information to share about other trips and countries they had traveled to. I am always amazed at how easy it is to develop a friendship in only a few short days. My email list grows on each trip. To the guys that shared their many varied experiences I thank you!
Birthday Party: One of the highlights of my July trip was my 50th Birthday Buffet that I threw for myself, all the girls and all of the BB’s guests. We had about 37 girls there all dressed up and looking very good plus about 24 guys and other various invited guests. We had a very typical Dominican meal with roasted pork and all that goes with it. The girls a chipped in and bought me a cake (what a nice surprise) and Tim and John bought all the Champagne we enjoyed in the upstairs lounge later that night along with dancing. I had a very memorable time and the guys that were there seemed to really be enjoying themselves. This was not the first time I have done this. Some of you may remember the Nov. 2006 Thanksgiving Day Buffet which I will again be hosting this year and the New Years Buffet. BB’s does an excellent job of putting together these special events. The greatest part of hosting these events is that it takes on a family atmosphere. I love it when someone comes up to me and says you’re the Roberto I heard about when’s the next Buffet!
General Comments: The changes that have taken place in the past few months with the “new” rules has, been a welcome change. The zero tolerance policy seems to be working well. Everyone was very discrete about booze etc. and there were no problems at all. The food was a little better and the kitchen was not as slow as it has been in the past. I had spoken to John about my June trip and how bad things were. He was away in June but the guest comment cards he read upon his return confirmed my own experiences. I am not sure what he did but it was better. The waitresses are nice but they are a bit slow and never seem to be around when I need a drink unless I go to the bar or wave a white flag to get their attention. Remember that there is a 10% service charge added to all food and drinks so tipping extra should not be automatic but rather be because they exceeded your level of expectation. I have always given each waitress 500 pesos on my previous trips and my service has never improved so I have stopped doing it. I told Charo why in the event someone asked. I do however still tip the 6 girls that clean the rooms. They do a great job and my room always is ready first thing in the morning when I am at breakfast! They even give me fresh towels in the afternoon.

And there's not much I need to ask about BB's, another place I'the like to go, because it's been so well-covered in the forum. For the time being, I'm kind of limited to discussing "virgin territory".- things I'the like to know more about that haven't yet been covered.
Gents, I'm hoping you can help me with my upcoming monger-trip planning! I've gotta go to Panama City, Panama for work for 2 weeks and will be taking a week of vacation time afterwards before returning to S. Florida. Now, I figure that over the 2 weeks I'm there, I'll more than adequately sample whatever Panama City has to offer. That leaves me with 4 days to hobby somewhere before I need to be home. DR is on my short list of places along with Cartagena/Barranquilla and Aruba or Curacao. I'm really leaning toward DR as I've been wanting to return since my first trip a year ago and due to the apparent renewed security concerns on the coast in Colombia. I don't speak much Spanish, but I am doing the Rosetta Stone thing now. I want my $ to stretch as much as possible. I love the nice, round Dominican asses, don't mind dark or light skin, love big tits (but don't expect too much in DR). I also value good looks as well as performance. I'the prefer (obviously) not to have to pay 4 "it", if there is an area where the non-pros really don't require much effort, however, I don't mind doing what WE do best and paying for it. I've found alot of great info on Blackbeard's and it seems to enjoy about a 75-80% approval rating, which is good, but, I'm curious about other Adult Resorts in DR that you guys might recommend. I've heard of Platinum Castle, Viking's Resort, and the Exotic Retreat. Most of which are in Puerto Plata, which puts that town on my DR short list. However, I've also heard good things about hobbying in Sosua and Santiago. What's the short and skinny on these locales? Any other recommendations? Here's more criteria to help guide responses.

BB is o.k. but it is farther away from Puerto Plata & Sosua.
It's a gated resort with everything on location. Depending on the number of days it could get boring with the same chicas. It is a good first start though.
You could always get a taxi and go to Sosua which is about 45min to 1 hour away.

There are girls like the ones you have posted in the DR, but most of these types are in the interior of the country and one needs to have a command of Spanish to venture there.

There are no AI resorts that are chica friendly. Blackbeard's may be closer to what you want. It's not an expensive packaged sex-tourism resort, it's a hotel very near a quiet beach in a quiet area - that's very chica friendly. There are chicas hanging out and you can bring in your own freely. While guests at Blackbeard's are usually men seeking chicas, all kinds of tourists vacation in the area and use the restaurant there. Search posts on Blackbeard's. It's rooms are as nice as mass market AI's and you can eat at the restaurant there and there are other good choices including service on the beach.
For a first-timer it would be a good bet. While staying there you can take day trips to puerto plata and sosua and get a feel for what your options are. BB's is the lowest stress, most reliable place to start at that I'm aware of.

I posted the last suggestion for BB's before I read your first post which mentioned being 22 and bars. BB's is in Costambar which doesn't have much going on - in that respect it's like a resort.
If you want to go to bars and discos to pick up dominican chicas you might as well stay in Sosua. Usual recommendations are the New Garden or the Europa. You can also stay at the Casa Marina which is an AI in Town but you can't bring back chicas so you have to get another room for that. (Rocky's is $22 a day)
If you want a general party experience with North American and Euro twenty somethings that also includes some exposure to local chicas stay in Caberete. There are a number of hotels that are at least chica -tolerant though not AI resorts. Check the Caberete thread and search under it. Sosua and PP are more oriented to older guys who expect to pay for it.
BB's is easy but may be too quiet for you.
All AI are not chica friendly. Some tips how to avoid this,
1. There are always some desk guys who will slip you an armband if they trust you and like you. If this happens make sure your girl does not look or act slutty.
2. Dominican girls get a great discount rates to stay at AI. If you really like the girl to stay with you couple of days ask her to call and make reservations. Do not pay any money upfront. You can Pay her after she checks in. Ofcourse she will get a separate room.
3. More risky way is sneak the girl in by way of the beach or the wooda like they do in James Bond movie.
I have tried doing all three. Successfull first two. Third one I got caught and security guy would not budge even when I tried to bribe him. Maybe he was scared because of no armstand.

I am not going to tell much about exactly what I did, but I will say that all you read on here about the fun and atmosphere are 90% true. The rooms are clean, food is good, and most of all the girls are more than capable of showing you a great time. They take their time, are very clean, and not to mention very easy on the eyes. I would highly recommend this place for all of you first timers as I was. Everything you could possibly want, as far as wine women and song are available at your beck and call. So I want to thank everyone who helped me with the reports they made, and hopefull this will help someone else who has doubts about going to Black Beards.

Caberete is a very well known destination for windsurfing... and so it attracts alot of young people.
In the clubs you wont find many hookers and the atmosphere is different compared to sosua. At the Bamboo bar there were several hookers, who approached me but at the same time alot of dominican couples and alot of young people from all over the world.
If you speak spanish Cabarete is a good place to pick up semi pros or non pros.
Right now is the low season in the dr so it might be that cabarete is dead right now. Just read the cabrete thread and i think you will get a pretty good idea about cabarete.

I stayed there 5 times and I will be there for Thanksgiving.
Ive stayed there twice before. It's a good place swiss owned. The only thing is they charge you $10 everytime you bring a guest back even for short term.

I have been to Oxygen Retreat twice before and Labor Day Weekend will be my next visit. I have been to pretty much every other resort there is to go to and truly none compare. They have 40-50 girls and allow no more than 15 guests or so. Everywhere I was at the resort there were women, and the best thing is you never need any money. I was quite skepticle about the all-inclusive concept because it is just not like that anywhere else that claims to have it but I didn't have to spend a dime. The girl quality was outstanding as well, they have girls from like 6 different countries. I definetly recommend it.

I had mentioned on an earlier post that I made reservations at Oxygen Retreat and the time has come. I will be arriving tomorrow in DR and I hope that the hype lives up to the expectation.
I had feedback from others regarding the options in Puerto Plata, but based on the info I feel that this will be the best for the money. Yeah I know there are other cheaper places but I prefer quality over quantity.

A while back on this thread was the discussion about Cristal's Mustang Ranch Resort being closed by the government. I just received an email from them saying they were going to be opening this Thursday. I was just wondering if anyone else has any information about this as it would provide another option to us in POP.
I'm really keen to try the AI resorts in POP, they sound like a lot of fun.
I will be travelling to the US in October and thought I could sneak in a trip for a couple of days.

AHH I didnt read the previous post where he was asking for rates at BlackBeards only, But If you have some game, spanish abilitly and want some better rates and some diamonds in the rough, head out to Mountainview or better yet SOSUA and you might really find a diamond in the rough and limited to the same ole Ho's that go from one room to the next at B.B's, Instead you might find a ho in sosua that hasnt been fucked that day, lol BUT if you dont like to haggle and have limited to no spanish skills, then by all means stay at B.B.'s p.s. L.S. just for you spanish spelling dictionary, it PESOS not PECOS.
Im not to sure about Sosua to find a Diamond , but i would like to know more about Mountainview .

Review of Oxygen Retreat
I had mentioned on an earlier post that I had made reservations at Oxygen’s and I had heard that I may be wasting my money. Many mentioned that for the money I could have a lot more fun in DR.
I arrived in Puerto Plata on Saturday August 11th and I was met by a driver at the airport. We took a 25 minute ride out to the resort and all I could think about what this trip would be like.
Once I arrived at the resort I knocked on the door and was lead to a large room that houses the dining room and the “front desk”. My first impression was that I was in a Finca (if any one doesn’t know what this is, its country homes that are very popular in Colombia).
I was introduced to Mike and he proceeded to give me a quick tour of the place. As we walked around the property the one thing that I saw was how many beautiful girls are at the retreat. At this moment I realized I had arrived in HEAVEN. Oh yeah this trip was going to be great.
The rooms are great, the amenities are first class. I travel a lot for business and when you have down pillows, comforters and great beds you know the place is first class.
Brief overview-
The girls are all 7-9, the reality is that there are no 10 (I reserve 10 for model chicks) but there are NO UGLY ones. There are not fat, stretch marks, old. Every type, blancas, negritas, morenitas, you choose. Thin, thick, curvy you just need time to get to all of them.
The staff at the resort is there to please you, anything you want you just have to ask. You can order food any type and if you drink everything is top shelf. I ate egg white omelets for breakfast every morning and I had seafood the rest of the time. Mostly I had langostino (the small lobsters) and they were delicious.
After settling down I went to the outdoor bar and as I settled down I was swarmed with beautiful girls that wanted to introduce themselves. One of the things that I noticed is that most of the guests do not speak Spanish so I had an advantage on them since I do and it proved very valuable.
I ordered a drink and tried hard to remember names with faces and bodies, it was damn hard.
The way it works I had access to 3 girls during the day and 1 TLN.
I had only been there for about an hour and I had met my first target. Angie started talking to me and after a few minutes I decided to take her back to my room. The attention I received was outstanding. Angie’s body is a 9 and her face is a 9. We had two hours to ourselves but I knew that I had 2 more to go before my TLN so I kept it to one hour. She was more then willing to do anything that I wanted and ready to please me.
After our hour I went back to the bar and decided to take a break before my next one.

John JrI beg to differ. I've been to Sosua four times since the spring and I found at least four keepers. Girlfriend experiences. I speak the language which helps considerably because you can flirt, joke and be entertaining while you get a feel for the chica. Half the fun is in the search. What you're looking for is a chica that would prefer to go home alone than lower her price or go with a gringo she doesn't want to be with. You also should not settle for less but keep looking. Go to the casino afterwards if you have to. Admittedly, there lots of hard core tigres but with some effort you can find some great chicas. Look for the ones that walk away from other gringos. Some do well enuff they can be selective. Those can be the diamonds.

The north coast is rarely touched by hurricanes, though they may get some of the spin-off rainfall. The south coast is more exposed to hurricanes as they wind their way West or NorthWest.

Spoke to my D.R.novia and she lives in S.D. and thats were it would have been the worst, she told me that they had minor damage city-wide and was A OK!

RodeoIf you go to Sosua during the day (which I suggest so you can get the lay of the land), you should go down to the main beach and hang out at Siempre Sol. It is about half way down (number 147 I think) and talk to Herman, he is a wealth of info about the area and the girls.
At night it is just a matter of going to either of the two main bars, Merenque Bar or Sosua Life, the are almost next door to each other on Pedro Clisante. Sit down, order a Presidente or a Cuba Libre and the rest will take care of itself. Each of these bars had a disco attached which is where the action moves to as the evening progresses.

I was only able to talk to one of the workers when I stopped and he had no more info on any type of opening for the Ranch. No owners or management were there when I stopped. I can't say for sure, but it sure looks like they are plowwing ahead with the opening and maybe trying to be less obvious about it.

The more discreet approach sounds about right. Maybe a little cash was exchanged with promises to tone things down a bit to get permission to open.

They are also doing a second floor with bigger rooms and suites at just a little more money, also doing some more work on the road and there lot. I found the place very convenient and being across Playa Dorada it was easy to find and it was great for me to be so close to golf and other Playa Dorada activities without driving a half hour from some remote location.

I am planning a trip to Blackbeards for 26th through the 30th of next June and I have a few questions: 1) How much spending money should I bring? I plan on having my share of fun, nothing too crazy; ). Just need a ballpark as I don't know how much I should compensate the chicas for their time and companionship or the average exhange rate is there. 2) What is the nightlife like outside of BB's just in case the girls of the property become "old" quickly? i had already been in ai i mexico and cuba and action is almost mission impossible (unless you are verry lucky like i was and stupid enough to pay 3 x the price , but i learnt my lesson) .
what i did when i went in dr. was book a one week flight . reserved 2 nights at bb , then 3 in cabarete (condo) where i could do some kitesurfing and still find action , and to end this vacation i had to go to sosua for one day i stayed at europa .
basicaly bb is good to get the feel of the place . but you will notice that if you are not on the dayprowl outside (and that you speek spanish) you will be tired of bb because it's always the same faces .
cabarete is in my book a great place to vacation , the beach is great , there are plenty of activities , really good places to eat (breakfast , lunch and diner) . a few bars on the beach witch is verry nice . the casino with a bar that is open later than the bars in cabarete . and yes there is action but it is less obvious than in sosua .
sosua , no need to explain !
as far as how much $$$ to bring ? this was an other question . in my book you bring more than less , just in case . i figure calculate your room (or condo) + 1 st + 1 lt + meals for 2 + transport .
rule no. 1 when ever you want to go with a girl , ask her price ! never quote her a price and if you do quote alot less than what you want to give her because she will negociate .
when she quotes you a price , negociate !

What's the deal? Are these your photos or what? The photos that you posted came straight from the Cristal Mustang Ranch web site. If you went there and had a good time where are your photos? Even if you only post photos of the hotel, we want to see what you saw. Anyway if you are going to use photos from another source you should at least tell everyone that they are not your photos. It makes me think this is some kind of under cover advertisement or something.

Well just got back from D.R. and I stayed at the Cristal Mustang Ranch, they just opened for business last Thursday but the place was ready for business. Here is what I can report for 179.00 per night all inclusive.

no surprises, no scams, the only thing is that it is a resort, therefore the only companions you will find are usually with hotel guest, apparently the deal is that you go to their club Cristal or afternoon bar Cristal Rio and find your companion, then you take the girl (S) back and it's like being in a Villa, very relaxed and stress free, the nice thing is that you don't have ugly girls running around the resort on your relax time bothering you for a dollar. I was impressed, owner Lino was all over me making sure I was happy I definitely recommend it for the price I couldn't do any better. They are also doing a second floor with bigger rooms and suites at just a little more money, also doing some more work on the road and there lot. I found the place very convenient and being across Playa Dorada it was easy to find and it was great for me to be so close to golf and other Playa Dorada activities without driving a half hour from some remote location.

Ok, here is my trip report from Viking. I was there a little over one week ago. Although it's partially subjective, nothing in this report should be construed as a complaint or endorsement, just a statement of the facts and observations.
The resort itself has improved on each of my visits. The current villa is oceanside and many improvements have been made (huge hot tub, spa area, outdoor dining area with cover, outdoor wet bar). The permanent staff is 5-star quality and will accommodate almost any request. Whether by direction or culture, they are not very proactive, but they do respond to any requests and always seem to be smiling. I would describe the accommodations in the executive villa as a junior suite with a larger than average bathroom (shower only). I try to remind anyone considering this vacation that while it is expensive, you should consider that you are spending about half the daily amount for the accommodations.
The guest interaction experience has changed greatly since my first visit about 5 years ago. Then, there were 2 small villas and rarely more than 6 guests. The guests seemed to be either alone with their girls or maybe in groups of only 2 or 3. The guests also seemed to be less likely to group together in cliques. It seems that recently, more guests are arriving in pairs or groups, and are also staying for longer periods which could account for the tendency to form specific groups. On my recent visit, there were at least 9 guests, and it appears the resort is often booked or overbooked, with some guests electing to stay in a room off-site rather than book at another time. Dinners are very social compared to just a few years ago. Almost all the guests and girls during my visit were present at the main villa for dinner every night. The manager or owner was always present for dinner (on one night, both were there).
During my earlier visits, the ratio was usually 2 girls for every guest. On this visit, there was one night that all of the girls were taken. On the other nights, there were generally only 3 or 4 available. The guests were more likely on this visit to stick with the same girl for several days or their entire visit. On my earlier visits, it was very common for the girls to approach the guests. On this visit, that never happened and the girls were unlikely to speak to any guest unless approached. There really is no formal selection process.
The attitude and availability of the girls is where I have seen the greatest change in the resort. On my earlier visits, the girls were generally friendly but not aggressive. It was very easy to end up with a girl that you liked early in the afternoon and spend the night and next day with her. On my latest visit the girls were generally aloof and disinterested, and I basically ended up with whomever was left over after the other guests had chosen or remained with their girls. After some thought, I have come up with a few potential explanations for the decline in the quality of the "girlfriend" experience at Viking:
1. The manager himself gave a clue at dinner one night. The majority of the guests are doctors, dentists, lawyers, financiers, etc. The guests are "movers and shakers" and people used to dealing with the public. The girls don't have to exert any effort because the guests are used to "gaming. " Any girls, regardless of where they are from and whether they are working, will respond to a man with good game and ignore those without. Viking has moved from an experience for those with difficulty meeting women to an experience for those who do not, and just wish to meet those younger or otherwise different than what they are used to.
2. The core group of girls at Viking are Ukrainian (the site says Russian, I suspect because most people in the USA don't know much about Ukraine). Ukraine has undergone profound cultural change since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Every year brings huge leaps towards a more western style of life in Ukraine, and this includes the attitudes of the girls. I visit Kyiv (the capitol) at least twice a year and have witnessed this firsthand. 5 years ago, girls in Kyiv were generally still traditional and demure to some extent, and very friendly when approached. Finding a girlfriend in Kyiv 5 years ago was silly simple, even for a non-gamer like myself. I most recently visited Kyiv in May of this year, and I can hardly tell the difference between a girl from Kyiv and one from New York in attitude. The decent girls can still be found, but the search is much harder than it was a few years ago. Viking is now recruiting many girls from Kyiv, while earlier many of them were from cities like Dnepropetrovsk, where change occurs more slowly.
3. The guest volume and guest/girl ratio are definitely factors in the decline of the girlfriend experience. With more guests comes less personal attention, and with fewer girls per guest there is of course less of a choice. Less choice also means the girls don't have to work as hard and they know that.
4. On my previous visits there was a girls manager. This position has disappeared or been absorbed into the manager position. The current manager seems to have a good rapport with the girls, but whether this is good or bad I cannot say for sure. I do know the previous manager also had a good relationship with the girls, but when it came to encouraging them to work or interact with the guests, that fell to the girls manager. I think the old system worked better.
The bottom line is that I love the resort, but if you're like me.- a guy who has a tough time interacting with women and who is looking for that fantasy girlfriend experience, I cannot recommend Viking at this time. I am hoping to try it again at some future time, but I cannot say for certain if or when.

Thanks.I don't generally post photos, as I don't have the girls' permission to do so. I will say that the photos on the website are obviously professional. This is not unusual -- about 50% of the girls I have met in or from Ukraine are "models" and have professional photo portfolios. Generally Viking has only 9/10 girls as far as looks go. It's unlikely you will disappointed in that regard. However, as I stated in my report, the service from the girls has gone downhill drastically, at least in my personal experience.

Okay, so, I was originally planning on spending 4 days at BB's following a 13 day trip to Panama City, Panama. There can be a bit of competition for some the "in demand" girls. When I first started to go to BB's I would arrive on the Friday before the contest. I liked being settled in and at home. ThanksIf you are staying there, there are several cabana places on the main road right outside Cofresi on the way to Puerto Plata - in fact between the Costambar road and Cofresi. If you want to stay close, go to Blackbeards in Costambar which is very close to Cofresi and pick up chicas to take the cabanas. Otherwise you have to go to Puerto Plata or Sosua which are further away. Of the cabana places, one is called Hollywood but I cannot remember the others. Have fun.

Here is the 411, I hope that I can address you questions to your satisfaction.
Most of the girls are from DR, but they are talking of adding Filipino, Ukranians and some others. I prefer the Latin type, but they have every shade, white, brown, dark. Super thin, to well rounded but they do not have ugly old girls. They are great, the quality is well worth the cash. Most people complain about the cost but once you are there you know it was well worth it.
1. The way it works is that you get access to 4 girls per every 24hrs you are at the resort. From what I read driving to the country side is out of the question. I will be mostly between cabrette-sosua-puerto plata. Farthest I will go is downtown puerto and back. My question to the veterans is do I definately have to kick out the extra money for an suv or can I get by. I plan on getting all the insurance that my credit card dosen't have to ensure for the most part being protected. At night I will get a driver to drive because most likely I will want to drink. The vehicle will cost $165 before all the taxes and fees. I know defensive driving is key. I rode on the back of one of those motoconchos. I thought he was going to try to pop a wheely with me on the back. Not my cup of tea. i WOULD DEFINITELY rent the SUV and head into the mountains or down the coast to Rio San Juan, Cabrera, etc. You get absolutely no respect from the road maniacs in a little car, and with the bumps and potholes that you will inevitably hit, your more apt to a blowout or worse in a small car.
Definitelt take the full insurance, trust me, you don't want to be detained because of car damage or because of an unisured accisent with a local. It's woth the extra hundred or so just for peace of mind. Also, make sure you check the spare tire when you rent, and that you know where the jack and wheel release are. There's nothing like exploring the campo, especially if you know some Spanish, you'll be happy you ventured out!
i always rent a car in dr and other countries. it gives you the freedom to just drive and see the country. if you have a nice chica beside you that is better.
do not be scared of the crazy drivers as long as you keep your cool and do not outrace or show any road rage.
you do not need to rent a suv. but rent a mid size car because there are too many potholes. get full insurance at the rental place. do not rely on your credit card insurance. drive slow because if you hit a pothole at high speed you are going to loose the hubcaps. and believe me they want to charge an arm and a leg for those cheap hubcaps. i had hubcaps come off, got few flats and the car key scratched etc. if you have full insurance nothing to worry. once i hit the pothole so hard it bent the wheel rim. local people are very nice. they changed my wheels for me and did not even take the money i offered. i did not even get my hands dirty. also i have given rides to school girls who wait beside the road for transportation. do not be afraid to give them a ride. this is a country full of family values as long as you behave nicely.

I just got back from BB. I was there from 09/21-09/23.
Few short notices:
- Nobody cares about last issue with the web site. The girls hardly know about it – and even more, they do not care about it.
- About events, there was posting about what and how related to Jacuzzi, do whatever you want there, the short time with the girl is about $40 and you can start in the Jacuzzi and continue in your room. They introduced happy hours, but the price is still the same. Do not consider overnight as an option because the service for overnight is not the best – they are tired after long day.
- About the girls – since my last visit in October last year the quality went down. The girls act and look like street hookers, they became very rude and aggressive in some situations. Do not try to make any arrangements about the time or date. They still hardly speak English and they do not even try to improve any communication skills. OK, we are not visiting BB for intellectual conversations. The look – average, many of them after having several children do not look the best. The best performance – blowjob in Jacuzzi is still the best treat. Check with a girl about service. Some are into anal, oral, 3some, orgy – so state clearly what you want. Charo and Elizabeth are taking care about girls. Each of them covers one shift. As I mentioned earlier, the girls are somewhat out of the control. Although girls make top buck since the prices are fixed ($40 for two hours, and $80 overnight) some of them do not make any effort to provide good service because they know the other guy is there anyway. Take care and make sure she stays for two hours because they are trying to leave the room as fast as possible. Only if someone complains about the service, Charo and Elizabeth can intervene. Still, service at BB is safe, secure and monitored compared with the situation on the streets.

- Food – well it is ok. Something for everyone.
- Bar – the girls at the bar are great.
- Visitors – bunch of great guys every time I’ve been there.
- General point – BB still rocks. It is place to be considering the service and personal attention. There is always space for improvement, but in general, place to come back anytime.

In Costambar I go to Jenny's Market right near the front gate. You get an extra 1.5 or so pesos to the dollar versus exchanging at BB's.

Have done this trip many times and never had a problem except one time when there were thousands of people in the immigration hall and had to wait maybe 45 minutes to get through.
However MIA has extensively renovated over the last few years and it nearly always goes smoothly. On nearly every trip I am through immigration AND customs in less than 10 minutes with no bother.
I think you must have just been unlucky and hit a bad day, but people should not be put off by this report.
A couple of tips:
1) Carry on baggage only on the return trip. You may need to check a bag going out if you want to carry bottles of shampoo etc.
2) On arrival at passport control, even when there are crowds, move to the extreme right hand side of the lanes for returning Citizens and Residents. The further to the right the line, the shorter it is and the quicker it goes.

After reading all the post I have become converted to DR. I have never been to DR only Brazil. Brazil is more expensive now the dollar is falling also there seems to be the same faces except for a few new ones every time I go. Also the woman want more money in Brazil. Brazil has become over rated.

The moving sidewalk is hardly ever working, it's like a mile from the gate (AA) to the customs desk, the A/C is barely blowing...and that's without ever checking any bags and on 5 separate occasions coming from the Caribbean, S. RodeoI am a regular visitor to BB and usually bring some gifts such as thong underwear (big hit) and a few hot bikinis I buy on the web (even bigger hit). If you ever see the girls wearing a thong in the bikini contest, it is probably from me. Yes, but as I have pointed out before you can take a public taxi from central Puerto Plata to Sosua and back twenty-four hours a day for one dollar each way.
The taxis have a red sign on the roof that say Transporte Pta Plata-Sosua and you can pick them up in Puerto Plata in front of Caribe Tours or Tienda Jimenez, Parque Central or outside the hospital.
At Sosua the taxis run from the main highway just 100 yards or less from Classico Disco.
The night time taxis have Transporte Nocturne on the roof, but you really don't need to know this as the daytime and night time taxis are not out at the same time. I think you pay a few cents extra for the nocturnal ones. They run all night.
If you go to Sosua for the evening there are many restaurants and bars available and you can find many, many girls, some of them very beautiful around the Classico disco area from 10 p.m. to midnight, or a bit later at weekends. They will find you I should say.
As mentioned above, these girls are as is, sold as seen, and totally without any kind of warranty, but they are much more reasonable in their financial demands and cost a fraction of what the girls from the nightclubs with salidas will cost you. In fact some of them are the same girls.
There is a short stay place in Sosua called Calypso, which is basic and will run you $10. Condom is provided, but very thick, so byo. If you want something better you can rent a room at the hotel Europa for the whole night for a bit less than $50.
So public taxi each way plus room at Europa may be a more economical night out than tourist taxi each way.

OK, first of all, I want to thank all of the great posters here for all their wonderful advice and encouragement. It really helped.
I just got back from my first trip to the DR. Spent 3 nights at BBs. This report was going to be a lot longer. (I spent the whole flight back writing it, but then had a hard drive problem and had to reinitialize and use my back-ups, losing all the new stuff.) Sorry, I have forgotten a few details since then, like a few names. .
Got into POP on a Friday afternoon and the driver was waiting for me. (I had arranged it in advance with BBs – I strongly advise newbies to do likewise – the taxis rip you off! ) Fell in with a nice guy from NY city – we’ll call him Mr. J. We had a fun time swapping stories, shopping for cigars, etc. Got into BBs, and the chicas were there to greet us. Had a few offers before I even made it to the room, but I kept my head. Got things set up ASAP, and I was back to the bar with a cold one, checking out the talent. Did not take long before I was talked into a happy hour with Morena and Olga. (Yeah, they had to work really hard to talk me into it.) Within minutes I’m back in the room with these 2 short beauties. Morena has been there a while, I think – if you’ve seen the now-disappeared bikini beauties pages on BB’s website, she’s the one with the HUGE smile. Anyway, made it back to BBs and it wasn’t long before Jari (? Or Iari? It is pronounced "Yaree"), who had attracted my attention when I first arrived, came over. She was free and wanted to know if I’d like to go back up the room with her. Would I? Does a bear sh. Well, you get the idea. Jari is a very attractive young lady, although I thought she looked better with her clothes on (she really knows how to dress to accentuate her assets). She seemed much shorter than I had thought. Still, a very nice package – thin, dark skin, nice tits, firm ass. (Sorry, I don’t have a pic of her.) We were at it for a while when. The condom came out red. She is a friend of Joana and a happy hour with the three of us had been discussed, but I was having none of that after my last experience (and plus, I really wanted Joana to myself – I was anticipating something special). Making dates is not a bad idea, I found. The chicas are constantly asking you "when are we going to make love", "how about you and me now? ", stuff like that. If you’ve already made a date with the ones that interest you, when the ones who don’t hit you up, you have a ready answer – already taken. (I know that a lot of you guys have no problem telling a woman no, but that always been a hard one for me.)
Chica #2 (see 2 pix below) often looks stern, but is very pretty when she smiles. I actually appreciate her attitude, which is kind of "no-nonsense", but she might not be everyone’s cup of tea. As I expected, I was really not up for wild sex at that point – but she provided a nice massage and some relaxed oral fun, which was all I wanted at that point. He tested that out – costed more than a BBs girl.- $200 – but how much would that have been in Vegas, eh? . .) For me gambling is a just another way to waste money, but Mr J is a real gambler and managed not only to win at the blackjack table, but got 2 of our dinners comped. Was fun hanging out with a high roller! Dinner was excellent, and Joana was very appreciative. When we got back, she could not wait to show me just how appreciative. , I won’t go into all the details, but it was a night to remember. She is a tall and slim girl, very dark skinned, and a beautiful face. (See pic below taken in the casino.) The sex was not quite as hot as with Carolina, but very sweet and more intimate. Total GFE. Went back with another of the guests that I had talked with before, and we swapped stories until the plane took us to Miami. I liked just about all the guys I met there – not a jerk among them. That was a real bonus.
Just a few things to say in general before signing off. I spoke Spanish almost the entire time with the chicas and the bar staff. I’m not expert – "intermediate" is more my level – but it helped. There are pros and cons to this approach, of course. The pros include improved communication, but the cons include their improved ability to put the squeeze on you. Still, I would recommend it. Another thing is that I took the advice of Travler04 and others and brought lots of inexpensive gifts with me (cheap jewelry, toys – most of the chicas have kids, chocolates, etc) – they were great as "regalitos" before sending the chicas off, and to hand out to the staff with tips. I was very popular!

I am a regular visitor to BB and usually bring some gifts such as thong underwear (big hit) and a few hot bikinis I buy on the web (even bigger hit). If you ever see the girls wearing a thong in the bikini contest, it is probably from me. I just spent a few days at BB and had a wonderful time there. This was also my first experience with DR girls, aka chicas.
Before going there, I read as many posts as I could find on this forum, and I wish to thank all the mongers whose useful posts helped me figure out things out there. So I landed at Puerto Plata Airport and had arranged for a taxi to pick me up. BB charges $40 per person, and in my opinion, if you're alone, the best is to use their taxi. However, if I were travelling with 2 or 3 friends, I'd hire a separate taxi cab at the airport and save quite a few bucks.
The taxi ride takes about 30' to BB. The resort is located in the area of Costambar (aka Amber Coast) which is west of the main city of PP. Costambar is a gated / secured area. BB is a short walk to the beach. Their website gives an accurate description of their accomodations.
When you get there, just walk through the courtyard to the main desk to check in. As you're walking in, you'll probably see a lot of chicas, and they will check you too. Immediately, I was surprised by the sex appeal of these chicas. Not even 2 minutes had gone, that I had already exchanged suggestive smiles from half of dozen girls. I was already hard.
So I get to my room after paying in cash for my entire stay. It's a rule of BB to pay in advance for your room. Tim, is one of the managers; the other is David. You will also receive the key to the room safe; very important, so you can leave your $$, valuables and passport.
The room and bath was clean, the AC worked very well, and the bed was king size with a firm mattress, TV had many channels including one porno. Also, you do not need to bring a lot of clothing; I had 3 shirts a jean and underwer washed and ironed in 2 hours! Just asked the maid to take care of it an slip her an extra 100 pesos for extra towels too.
After a quick shower, I go back down to where the action is.
Basically, there is one social area including the pool, the open bar and the restaurant where most girls congregate. The other area is the jacuzzi, which is separate and hidden.
While at the bar, I met one of the girls' manager, Elizabeth; the other one is Charo, who is the main girls' manager. Since it was my first visit, Elizabeth showed me the premises and explained how the girls worked (rates, security, health check, etc). As we walked BB, she introduced me to many girls. I was in heaven.
I speak some spanish. Needless to say that it really helped me to communicate with the chicas because most do not speak english. However, you do not have to speak spanish to enjoy BB, but it does help a lot, especially if you want some GFE.
There were a lot more girls than guys. They were all from the DR. The choice was plenty and overall the quality was great. At 7pm, they would change and wear a super sexy outfit for the disco (on the 2nd floor with a bar). During the day, the girls are dressed nice, but no nudity (same for the guys, no nudity is allowed in the public areas- jacuzzi excepted).
Most girls who work at BB are there with another female friend or 2; so it's even easier to get a session with 2 girls. They will offer it even if you do not ask. The most popular is the jacuzzi where the action will start and will end in your bedroom (of course).
As a general rule, the girl (s) hang out by the bar/pool. If you like one girl, you'll probably start by buying her a drink, that she'll share with her "idle" friends (most likely she will order a large Presidente beer). Then the conversation goes on, and it's up to you to give a signal to go to the room for a short session (1 to 2 hrs, 1500 pesos or approx $40! ).
The girl (s) do not look at the time and are not in a hurry. I would tip her a little extra or would offer her a meal after, if the session went well. Treat the girl well for a better experience. Although the girls at BB are pros, YMMV.
I liked that before each session, the girl would shower and clean her body. She had condoms; however, BBBJ is standard over there.
I did not stay all the time inside BB. The beach is an easy 5' walk. I took a chica out and we walked to the beach where we had a late lunch at a small restaurant; I bought a grilled fish and rice for $10.
Another time, I went to a local pizza place a few minutes away from BB; nice pizza and beer. A little further, there is Jennys Market where you can change money (slight better rate than BB's).
I also took a chica as a "guide". We went to Puerto Plata and to the teleferico (nice mountain ride) where the view of the city and coast is great.
There is no exit fee at BB, so the girl is free to come in and out as she pleases. With respect to the bar and restaurant, you can pay cash for each transaction or choose to charge it to your room. Beware that these girls know how to run you bar and food tab (with your OK of course). When I checked out, BB did not give me a detailed daily transaction for the food and bar; however, the amount seemed right. You can also buy at BB the V pill or the C pill.
There is a free WIFI internet connection that can be picked up in the lobby and restaurant area; they also have a free computer hooked to the internet.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Had a great time with many sexy and friendly chicas, ate good food and it did not cost me a fortune. I wouldn't hesitate to return to BB with a few friends and party with the chicas.

Todo la noce TLN is still 2500 pesos, which I think is a real bargain when you compare with US or Euro pricing.
However, you may also have to take into account the additional cost for the bar and dinner with the chica(s). She may also ask you to pay for her breakfast. It's up to you; you can say no. Depends what you plans are for the day.

By the way I found that the city of Puerto Plata is really ugly and has no touristical interest. I did not have time to check for chicas there. I drove by a couple of places/disco in the inner city, though they appeared geared for locals only.

Amperor mentioned in his report that the chicas supplied condoms for their customers. I would not recommend this.
First off, Dominican rubbers are garbage and are made for the smaller "stature" of the Dominican males. They cut off the circulation to "junior" and from my experience, makes the deed very uncomfortable (and I am not hung like a race horse either).
Second, they have a tendency to break with the friction and heat involved in the act. I had one break on me (I forgot to pack my own one trip) and had to be very careful along with the use of alot of lubrication to keep it from happening again.
I was advised on my first excursion to BB's to pack my own condoms, and I am passing that on to the board as good advice.

There are a few Photo shops in Sosua that can do it. One just down the street from classico. I usually wait if the guy is working depending on the photos you want to print.

I think cristal`s the nightclub opens at 7pm till midnight during the week and is open till 2 am in the morning during the weekend. they also have some kind of pool bar which is open during the day so i guess you can pick up girls from there too.

The 4 hour regulation on one girl has to do with the all inclusive price of 179 USD per night which includes, the room, 3 meals a day from the restaurant, all you cab drink until midnight, transportation to the clubs and airport and the companion for 4 hours. Most girls get a tip and stay as long as you want as long as they are having a good time, they have no better place to go... think about it! anyways, i stayed last month and I am coming back at the end of Nov again. The Ranch has been open for 2 months, they did not advertize it, they did a soft opening and rolled into it. The girls come from Cristal Rio (opens at 4pm to 8pm ) and then Cristal nightclub (opens at 8pm until 2am ) the same owners of the ranch, wanted to make it a place to relax and not to be bombarded by 50 different money hungry girls bothering their guests at the Ranch. It is intended for the guy who wants to have a relaxing time together with a companion or two and no brain damage! there is always a few girls at the Ranch, but ususally they come to hang out at the pool and their restaurant. The 4 hour regulation on one girl has to do with the all inclusive price of 179 USD per night which includes, the room, 3 meals a day from the restaurant, all you cab drink until midnight, transportation to the clubs and airport and the companion for 4 hours. Most girls get a tip and stay as long as you want as long as they are having a good time, they have no better place to go... think about it! anyways, i stayed last month and I am coming back at the end of Nov again. I love how is on the main road, infront Playa Dorada, near everything and when I get bored, I cross the street and hit to the bars or the beach for a change. Before the ranch, I used to stay in the regular hotels until they started fucking with the girls at the door and charging me for them to spend the night, I enjoy the rooms at the Ranch and the place is super clean and friendly.
thank you for the clarification. Usually the mustang ranch would be too expensive for me, but now with the euro hitting all time highs against the dollar i might check it out as well for 2 or 3 days.

Hi,
Staying in Playa Dorada and looking for some girls off the resort in Puerto Plata in the daytime. Last time I was offered by taxi guy to take me to girl and he would wait He wanted to charge 25.00 and he said I could pay girl whatever. I didnt't know if I could trust this so I opted out. So are there any places I could go and be with girl from the street in the daytime, probally 2hrs and what is the going rate for girl and place.
$25 is a small fortune to those guys. Motorcycle taxis only earn around $10 a day. I know this because I used to rent their motorcycle for $10 all day and they'd go home and sleep.

Amperor mentioned in his report that the chicas supplied condoms for their customers. I would not recommend this.
First off, Dominican rubbers are garbage and are made for the smaller "stature" of the Dominican males. They cut off the circulation to "junior" and from my experience, makes the deed very uncomfortable (and I am not hung like a race horse either).
Second, they have a tendency to break with the friction and heat involved in the act. I had one break on me (I forgot to pack my own one trip) and had to be very careful along with the use of alot of lubrication to keep it from happening again.
I was advised on my first excursion to BB's to pack my own condoms, and I am passing that on to the board as good advice.

Buy condoms before visiting any of those countries. Their condoms come out of the pack looking like a stick of gum or something. They suck. Only had to use one once because I forgot to grab one before leaving the hotel. Go to walmart and they sell 12 packs of Trojen or Durex for $5-6.

One month the Mustang Ranchis making national News for geting shut down. Three months later its up and running no problem. Lets be clear. Would anyone recommend the Mustang Ranch? I am headed to PP in December and might check it out. My big problem is that I have no way of knowing the caliber of the chicas there.

-40 bucks (large condo/apt....Tradewinds/De la Souza)
-70 bucks (handpicked TLN chica from Classico and another for the day, 1500pesos+800 pesos)
-35 bucks for food and drinks (includes nice seafood dinner...as many Presidentes one can hold)
-15 bucks for motochonco/taxis/guaguas.
Total: 160/day

I visited the cristal`s nighclub during my latest trip in march 2007 and i was really impressed by this place. They have a huge and awesome selection of girls like 70+ who come in all different sizes, shapes... you can not go wrong with cristal girls
I will probably check out the ranch in decemberas well
