looks like scuss beat me to the highly detailed trip report on oxygen resort. that report is accurate and i agree with everything he described and wrote about. i should point out though from person to person, people should expect a small flux in their own rating standards.

well mr scuss, as you were leaving i was arriving on 1/1/2008, so i am sure we glanced each other in the face in the main building. i am taking a different slant on this review because you have covered the internals of the resort so well. i did make a visit to bb for a whole day, saw an example room, stayed until past midnight floating in and out of the disco and i feel i can at least make a few valid comparisons. i will do that here as well and include what i learned working the sosua discos.

there were three venues i was exposed to over a span of 8 days. the first was from my rented condo in the town of sosua, the second was a day trip to blackbeard’s and the last was a trip to oxygen.
here is what i learned for each of the venues:
1) the girls at classicos in sosua are much more in quantity than at blackbeards. statistically one did not have the advantage over the other in terms of hot girls.
2) the environment at bb is controlled and you are much less likely to be ripped off than taking a girl from a disco. you also have some backing with bb management if something is obviously wrong.
3) sosua hotels(security) say they try to protect you by holding the girls id. i had an experience where the guard at my condo knew the people who were trying to hustle me in front of the complex. the guard played agnostic and did not want to get involved. so i am sure you are not as well protected as you believe you are. all these local people know each other and have to look each other in the face from time to time so don’t expect security to always be on your side.
4) the number of girls at bb is limited. (~20 girls from what i saw. three i found to be very hot) i was there for the bikini contest up until about midnight in the disco.
5) there is girl turnover at bb but the rate did not seem be very high. i noted a very high turnover rate at classicos. there was around 100-150 girls at classicos on a typical night. so the number of different girls did make it interesting from one night to another.
6) i talked to two guys at bb who had an extended stay and they told me there are a few girls who didn’t give gfe sex and gave down and dirty pse sex.
7) i experienced pse, gfe and all points in between service with classicos girls.
8) there can be danger walking some of the streets in sosua unless you are streetwise and don’t take obvious precautions. otherwise you are fine.
9) the diversion of passions massage in sosua.was a nice thing to do in the day time or night if you get tired of the disco. passions is german run, with an official laminated menu of service options and you never have to worry about getting ripped off there. i liked the way the girls came out from the bar and sat with you for small talk while their fingers did some walking and exploring.
oxygen resort:
1) very expensive option at about $1000/day all inclusive. when you add up the girl time you get with the standard package you get 2x2h + 1x8hours = 12 hours per day of girl time plus quality bar drinks, quality room, decent food, facilities, and the highest quality 3 girls of your choice per day.
2) i met only doctors, venture capital and senior business people. all those i met except for one were return customers. to me, these types did not seem they would fit in at the bb or classicos venues. my opinion only, the more established senior professionals seemed to be the ones frequenting this resort. they don’t want to contend with the fraternity like free for all at the discos or the middle echelon crowd at bb. that part of their frat life is behind them now and can afford to pay for more convenience.
3) the age of the girls at o2, were not older than 22 years old as management explained to me when i arrived.
4) o2 girls are strictly gfe girls. do not expect them to deliver rock-your world sex. there is lots of cuddling, kissing, most girls use bj to prepare for sex only.
5) the average quality of looks of the o2 girls is far above that found at either classicos or bb. o2 and the other resorts combs the dr for the best looking girls, offers them good deals to work at the resort, and then takes them off the market. i was really tickled at how cute the girls were and with great body’s to boot.
6) i have never had so much fun anywhere hanging out with these o2 girls. it was a gas playing dominos with the competitive girls and watching them needle each other about general life, pounding down beers, pulling you into their chests, grinding their butts into you when their favorite songs start playing. it is kind of hard to describe how sexy they can dance. strip club dance moves everywhere and i hail to the brazilian hip grinding gods for this.
7) the o2 girls acted like they enjoyed being there. i think they enjoy interacting with the clients because they are bored enough with their own peers day in and out.
8) o2 works off of coupons’ for everything. no cash is allowed and all money is paid up front. this eliminates the girls from hustling and removes the corruption in just about everything.

Nice report Birnam, I look forward to meeting you on a future trip to BB. When are you going in April? I will be down there for a quick trip between March 5-9. Only comment on your experience with the drinks bill. I have been to BB probably 10-12 times over the past 3 years and have found that charging things just seems to be easier than paying individually. I usually have a few drinks but like Ponderosa said, once the girls know you are in charge they will not take advantage of you. I have never had such a problem but am fairly generous and buying drinks or munchies for my girls and a occasionally others. At the end of my visit the food and drink bill usually ends up being about the same as my room bill so ends up being $50/$60 per day max but it pays to check the bill. Add to that an average of one girl during the day and one TLN for max $150 you end up with total trip cost of under $300 per day excluding flight or taxi/car rental. Much better value than all inclusives and the BB girls have gotten hotter as Charo has enforced a weight limit on the chicas.
Before I get slammed by the single guys, a quick question. Has anyone ever brought their wife or girlfriend to Blackbeards for threesomes? I am planning on taking the wife in June. I was wondering how it went. Its cool enough that the wife is agreeable to it. I just want to have some chicas ravage my wife while I later join in and help. Any info would be helpful.

Charo runs a tight ship with the girls at BBs and I am glad to hear Paco and Javier are working closely with her. $130 in drinks at BBs is a substantial amount and you were wise to check your bill before the last day. That amount is about what I pay for 2 full days of food AND drink for me and my chicas down there.
I buy drinks for my chica and, at times, for her friends, but I am always the one ordering them. I do not send my chica to the bar for drinks. If I find it necessary to go to the bar to pick up drinks, I am the one to do it. This was my my first time to the Dominican Republic as well as my first time venture into any international sexual activity. The Trip there:
Piece of cake given I usually fly to AsiaPac this time of year. 5 hours Delta from SFO to Atlanta; 4 hour wait in ATL; then 3 hours to POP. Pickup at airport by cab sent by BB's; 30-35 minute ride to BB's.
Arrival/First Impressions:
BB's building is quirky chic and at the end of a REALLY shitty road with more potholes than roadway. I'm surprised any vehicles survive this torture track. And as for people in the vehicles, man, I've had visits to chiropractors that didn't move as many spinal vertebrate as the drive down that road!
Loved the signage in front of the place. Serious and cartoon-ish at the same time. It was raining but had a certain sweetness about it. (The chica's say, Mucha lluvia pero todavía dulce--much rain but still sweet). Checking and orientation by Javier was complete and warm during which chicas did the 'flyby' to greet the new chico. You could cut the sexual potential energy with a knife. It was clear that BB's was going to be a blast for the first second.
Since I waited until the last minute to book, I could only get the entry-level room, a standard single. Loved it! Queen bed, nice spaceous closet, well stocked refrig, nice bathroom. Afterwards, I was glad I didn't spend more for a better room.

day 2

By now I have a great groove going. TLN with primera each night and short time/happy hour with a chicas suggested by primera during the day.

I take non-nude pictures of girls on my trips. First, I do not want Big Brother in my business more than he needs to be, and second, I especially do not want Big Brother to force me to prove that a 19 year old is indeed 19. You get my point.
When I take pictures, I often preface it that the pictures are for me, i.e., I do not post them. Now, I do view the posted pictures, and I know my practice appears hypocritical at best, but I do not post. I share pictures in person when I get home, and may e-mail one or two to those that I know will not exploit the photograph.
If a girl asked me to post, like some in San Jose, Costa Rica, I would do so prior to leaving the country. In other words, I would post it at an internet cafe, then delete the photo from my digital camera and flash drive.

Just to follow-up on my earlier point:
Names are not a problem reagrding friends and family, as often (thogh not always) the girls use a "working name" instead of their real name. If theres no special relationship to protect, then fine.
I would suggest asking for pics/photos first, thogh, as the pics CAN get seen. If not by their family (though I wouldn't rule it out) then by Dominican locals with grudges who can dredge up such things. Lots of them check these sites.
Once its on the web, its there forever, and I know girls that have left the trade for a new life that don't want their kids/kids' friends stumbling onto old photos.
I am aware of one instance in which a guy offended the wrong chica in Sosua and her male friends/relatives inside and outside the law, had a "discussion" with him as to removing the photos. (But that IS an exception).
There was a pic-oriented website that finally tanked, though not sure why.
Possibly legal issues? Not a lawyer, but not sure of the legal impolications for individuals or websites.
(Look at the legal hassles of the "Girls Gone Wild" owner; he's in custody somewhere and getting sued constantly by stupid college girls who saw things differently after they sobered up).
In any case, I'd always ask. If they don't mind, great.
If they do object, I give them that much respect for their wishes.

Well if you are looking only in Sosua i guess the best AI hotel is the Sosua Bay Hotel.
An alternative would be playa dorada if you dont taking public taxis to Sosua. The best hotel in Puerto Plata is called Casa Colonial. and is part of the Playa Dorada hotel complex.
A single room at the Casa Colonial Hotel costs round about 300 bucks

Go to superpagesdr.com, click on English at the top right of your screen and select taxi and Puerto Plata. If you pre-arrange with a taxi co. it usually will cost up to 25% less tham from an airport taxi.
You can google Rafael Silva webpage wich provides a good service but is more expensive than most companies. Expect the others to be 5-15 dollars cheaper than him.
Just forget about all inclusive resorts being girl-friendly.
I have tried 5 of them when I take a golf vacation in DR. Couple of them did say they will allow overnight guests. But when I got there it is a whole different story with the security guards. There is no way to bribe them.
Only two times I was successfull. One time I sneaked a girl from the beach and it was like playing James Bond style.
Other time I got friendly with the desk clerk and he introduced his so called cousin to me. He gave me a wrist band for the girl. Since the girl did not look or act like a puta it was not a problem. we had a good time.
After these two I tried many times with no luck.

Thanks to everyone's reports here. I booked my trip to Oxygen for the first week of March. I will be sure to report my experiences here. Based on careful review of all of the DR options, Oxygen seems like a breath of fresh air (used to the Baltimore Block and various massage parlors).

Have a reservation for BBS April 26 through May 3. I am looking forward to the trip but my expectations are guarded as I read the DR posts and compare this spot to Rio. Another reason I decided to go is that one of my friends is Dominican (from Santiago) and he knows some economically disadvantged non working bonita dominicanas (he has showed me picts). It will be good to have the option of taking a day to travel from PP to Santiago to try and work the charm on these girls.

I have never done this, nor even tried, considering the rules. Your post is confusing not because of your desire for "the forbidden fruit" as you say, but because you should know that BB's management reads this very same forum (as do others who regularly converse with BB's management), and with that knowledge, what good could possibly come from an overt post looking for others who will not only admit to having broken the rules, but actually advising others on how to do it, ALL of which is happening right in front of the Rule-makers? Seems like some targetted PM's might have made more sense.

I had a great time there. The best time to have them take you to Cristals is around 9 PM as it seemed to have 30- 40 ladies to choose from with only 3-4 other guys. The other thing I liked with the resort was it was very laid back and not a rowdy place.
Trippstadt is right! I think a part of me just wanted to spend some time with a non-puta that I have made a sort of connection with (over time) and go on a true date. Dinner, dancing, beach, etc, then, whatever happens happens. Just like normal people. Of course, just for a night, not looking for a relationship, just a connection. I mean, if you think about it, all major hotels have the same policy of not having relationships with patrons, of course, what happens outside of the hotel is not really the hotel's business. But, given how much I enjoy BB's, I should respect their rules so I don't have a problem returning.

Ok, here is my trip report from Viking. I was there a little over one week ago. Although it's partially subjective, nothing in this report should be construed as a complaint or endorsement, just a statement of the facts and observations.
The resort itself has improved on each of my visits. The current villa is oceanside and many improvements have been made (huge hot tub, spa area, outdoor dining area with cover, outdoor wet bar). The permanent staff is 5-star quality and will accommodate almost any request. Whether by direction or culture, they are not very proactive, but they do respond to any requests and always seem to be smiling. I would describe the accommodations in the executive villa as a junior suite with a larger than average bathroom (shower only). I try to remind anyone considering this vacation that while it is expensive, you should consider that you are spending about half the daily amount for the accommodations.
The guest interaction experience has changed greatly since my first visit about 5 years ago. Then, there were 2 small villas and rarely more than 6 guests. The guests seemed to be either alone with their girls or maybe in groups of only 2 or 3. The guests also seemed to be less likely to group together in cliques. It seems that recently, more guests are arriving in pairs or groups, and are also staying for longer periods which could account for the tendency to form specific groups. On my recent visit, there were at least 9 guests, and it appears the resort is often booked or overbooked, with some guests electing to stay in a room off-site rather than book at another time. Dinners are very social compared to just a few years ago. Almost all the guests and girls during my visit were present at the main villa for dinner every night. The manager or owner was always present for dinner (on one night, both were there).
During my earlier visits, the ratio was usually 2 girls for every guest. On this visit, there was one night that all of the girls were taken. On the other nights, there were generally only 3 or 4 available. The guests were more likely on this visit to stick with the same girl for several days or their entire visit. On my earlier visits, it was very common for the girls to approach the guests. On this visit, that never happened and the girls were unlikely to speak to any guest unless approached. There really is no formal selection process.
The attitude and availability of the girls is where I have seen the greatest change in the resort. On my earlier visits, the girls were generally friendly but not aggressive. It was very easy to end up with a girl that you liked early in the afternoon and spend the night and next day with her. On my latest visit the girls were generally aloof and disinterested, and I basically ended up with whomever was left over after the other guests had chosen or remained with their girls. After some thought, I have come up with a few potential explanations for the decline in the quality of the "girlfriend" experience at Viking:
1. The manager himself gave a clue at dinner one night. The majority of the guests are doctors, dentists, lawyers, financiers, etc. The guests are "movers and shakers" and people used to dealing with the public. The girls don't have to exert any effort because the guests are used to "gaming. " Any girls, regardless of where they are from and whether they are working, will respond to a man with good game and ignore those without. Viking has moved from an experience for those with difficulty meeting women to an experience for those who do not, and just wish to meet those younger or otherwise different than what they are used to.
2. The core group of girls at Viking are Ukrainian (the site says Russian, I suspect because most people in the USA don't know much about Ukraine). Ukraine has undergone profound cultural change since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Every year brings huge leaps towards a more western style of life in Ukraine, and this includes the attitudes of the girls. I visit Kyiv (the capitol) at least twice a year and have witnessed this firsthand. 5 years ago, girls in Kyiv were generally still traditional and demure to some extent, and very friendly when approached. Finding a girlfriend in Kyiv 5 years ago was silly simple, even for a non-gamer like myself. I most recently visited Kyiv in May of this year, and I can hardly tell the difference between a girl from Kyiv and one from New York in attitude. The decent girls can still be found, but the search is much harder than it was a few years ago. Viking is now recruiting many girls from Kyiv, while earlier many of them were from cities like Dnepropetrovsk, where change occurs more slowly.
3. The guest volume and guest/girl ratio are definitely factors in the decline of the girlfriend experience. With more guests comes less personal attention, and with fewer girls per guest there is of course less of a choice. Less choice also means the girls don't have to work as hard and they know that.
4. On my previous visits there was a girls manager. This position has disappeared or been absorbed into the manager position. The current manager seems to have a good rapport with the girls, but whether this is good or bad I cannot say for sure. I do know the previous manager also had a good relationship with the girls, but when it came to encouraging them to work or interact with the guests, that fell to the girls manager. I think the old system worked better.
The bottom line is that I love the resort, but if you're like me.- a guy who has a tough time interacting with women and who is looking for that fantasy girlfriend experience, I cannot recommend Viking at this time. I am hoping to try it again at some future time, but I cannot say for certain if or when.

I guess I am ultimately asking/wondering how good / bad / average / etc is this place? I would hate to book a trip here only to have a bad experience. I was hoping that one of the seasoned vets of the DR can tell me if this place has improved since the Nov 2007 postings with regards to services and whatnot.

Frankly Antoe I am waiting for the same reports you are. The quality of girls at Cristals Night Club/Cathouse is really not the issue for me. You have hit the nail on the head as far as having any quantity or consistancy of reports on MRR.
I may be a bit jaded, and no disrespect to anyone who has not reached Senior status here on the ISG, but it is all too easy to post glowing reports by persons having a few reports with possible agendas. It just makes the word "shill" come to mind, whether true or not. (Again, no disrespect, I was a newbie once myself) I would like to see if any seasoned vets have any thoughts on MRR.
I am taking a trip to the DR and Barba Negra in a couple days and although I will NOT be "taking one for the team" by spending a night or more at the MRR, I will try and pop in and get a casual view of the place. If I don't make it there it is only because I had "more important" things to do with my time.........

Hi. Just to let you know, I am neither a shill or have any agenda or connection with the Mustang. And to put it all in perspective, this was the first time I had ever participated in this type of vacation, so to be fair, I cant make comparative observations.
I am a middle age mid westerner and to be honest, after I had first placed a reservation at Mustang, I read some of the bad reviews and e-mailed the resort and was thinking of cancelling my reservation. They assured me I would be satified and if not, they would refund my money.
When I was there it was very laid back, not a continual party place, which was what I wanted. The guy who owns the Resort also owns Cristal, so it made it very comfortable to bring the girls back. Their in house taxi was on call and I was able to setup whenever I wanted to get a girl at my convienience-all included. They gave me cards to trade in each night for a 4 hour session. In fact the only blip was my first night when the girl wanted to leave for another client after only an hour. The manager stepped in and let me go get another girl and did not even charge me for the first. ( I did slip her some cash since she did pump me for an hour). After that, the staff at the club made sure that the girls understood quatro hora completo each time.
All in all, it seemed like the staff went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. The place was located within a 7 minute walk to a nice beach and while the rooms were simple, it was very clean. When I was told how much it cost just to take a girl normally out of Cristal, it seems like for just a few more bucks , I got food, booze and taxi service all thrown in. To you black- belt participators, you may have a system more to your liking, but this place seemed to suit my needs.

Just was such a wide gap in terms of info on Mustang Ranch, and prior to your post, most of the comments regarding MR were mostly negative. I am glad you enjoyed your time and I did email the staff as well and they answered all of my lengthy and in-depth questions. My concerns have been addressed and I am comfortable now booking a 5 day trip. At BB the girls do indeed need to provide documentation and have periodic checks. They also get "classes" from a govt. health office.
That said, you still need to use protection (the girls insist on it) because you can't guarantee the last client they were with.

Actually if the answer to #1 is no then I do not want #2 (at least the first part). 1300 ain't bad (around $40?).

I don't want to post a detailed report for my recent trip, but there are a couple things I ran into somewhat worthy of a post.
First the normal stuff. I was down for 4 nights/5 days. Spent 3 nights/mornings with my novia and I played the field the rest of the time. I am liking this novia thing a little too much, but I think I am going to let it run its course and see where it goes. I am glad to report she made enough money to buy a "house" down there and is only part time now at BBs. She hopes to fully retire from there shortly.

I checked out a new hotel as I might try to be close to BBs but not stay there on a later trip with my novia. It is called L’oase and I went there to just take a look one early afternoon. As I pulled up to the place I see a guy who looks like David from the back who retired as manager from BBs. Sure enough it is him. It turns out he and another guy are buying this place and doing some renovations to it. I did not see the rooms, but it looked clean but a little worn. Then again they are doing renovations. David said he just wants to have a nice place that is quiet for regular clientele as well as be chica friendly. Rooms started at $40 US and up, with this room being pretty basic and nice rooms starting at $65 according to David. He said he would be willing to “work with his friends” on pricing though.
Elizabeth is no longer there as Charo’s assistant and a new lady, Jennifer has taken over the position. Paco and Javier seem to be doing a nice job there, but time will tell.
I found two more restaurants on this trip. One is right in Costambar and it is in Atlantic One, catty corner from Solo Mia’s. Me and my novia ate there for dinner twice. I had sea bass one time (delicious) and a sea food concoction with rice another time. Total bill without any tip for a couple cervesa’s, an appetizer and main course for both of us was 960 pesos one night and 740 pesos the other. I was quite pleased and it was a bit more formal than Solo Mia’s (although I still like that place). The other restaurant is in Las Rochas just past the Pizza place there. Just ask Paco about it. It is not your typical chica restaurant and is a bit more upscale. I would recommend making reservations though as it was packed. I had a really nice steak dish there and it was the first time I had steak in the DR and it actually tasted good. About 1600 pesos for some fine dining. I was happy.
All in all I had a great time, with the time spent with my “Dominican esposa” being the highlight for me. Like I said, I am enjoying this novia thing a little too much.

Thanks for the insightful report Ponderosa. No worries about not being able to check out Mustang Ranch Resort, I bit the bullet and will be heading there for a 6 day 5 night stay (June 19-24). Being in this hobby for 6 years now I my negative experiences have been few and far between, although this will be my first time being an International Hobbyist.
Is that just BB's policy or a law?No argument here. I just would rather have protected sex with someone without HIV or the clap or herpes than protected sex with someone that is infected.I can't say about the law, - "the law" in the DR, is a very intrustworthy thing.
I do know it is BB policy, and one of the benefits of the place over prowling the streets and bars, l trying to find a 500 peso lay.

The address for them is less obvious, it's www.cat69.com. I've never been to either so I don't know anything except what is on the web sites and what I've read here. (you can find some great reports by Trippstadt and others).
I also have a business card for the mustang ranch. The web address is www.mustangranchresort.com. I did stop by there a few months ago just to see the place. It's nice but the rooms were like prison cells, dark, with few windows, no real separate bathroom, just a low cinderblock partition wall with the toilet on the other side and no door. But you don't go there to sit in your room and watch tv and the outside grounds were nice and well kept. I think Antoekneeo is going there in June so maybe he'll post a detailed review in a few months but I'm sure others have been there already, I just don't recall ready any reviews of that place.

When I arrived at BBs on Sat Jan 19 I met a guy who had a sick novia in his room. He paid this chica 700 dollars to be with him for the week but she be- came sick after a few days and couldn't or wouldn't cooperate.
I understand this situation since I got hungup on one chica during my first visit to BBs last April. I didn't make the mistake of paying her in advance but I had some problems. So this time I was determined not to make the same mistake.
I stayed for 8 nights and managed to bang six different chicas. I had two short times and 6 toda la noches. I tend to prefer the toda la noches. It's better for an older guy like me and the girls usually are more at ease. I enjoy cuddling up with them while watching TV or while sleeping. For the most part I hooked up with some good ones. On two nights I told Charo what I wanted and she helped make the arrangements. The other nights I just hung around the bar or the discoteca and let things happen.

I didn't stay with one chica more than two nights in a row and had a much better time than my first visit to BBs. So that is my advice to you newbies-keep it fresh while there, don't get hung up. There are some sweet ones and they all need some loving and pesos or dollars. And definitely don't pay in advance. Enjoy your vacation.

at bb's it is all about keeping the customers (and girls) safer. they check to make sure that the girls get tested for std's etc. every month. it is not a law but it is bb's "law". regular exams by a doctor are part of the std testing. charo is the one in charge of checking and recording this information and has a copy of all of the girls id's on file. additionally, the board of health comes in several times a year and does mandatory trainings (bb's insists) for the girls on safer sex practices and precautions.
i love the fact that bb's (charo) does not bend the rules. be tested or be gone. violating any of the rules is grounds for suspension or dismissal.
i have heard and witnessed first hand guys trying bring back a girl to bb's only to find out that the girl does not have an id. it can get loud and ugly real fast late at night....but in the end the girl is not allowed entry. simply, no id no entry period end of discussion for outside girls. the security guards check id's in fact they even check the regular girls until they get to know them and even then most of the time they get asked to show one. it is like in the us with **** people in a bar.

What Trav is saying is absolutely true. The chicas do not work for BBs, but they have "a mutual agreement" with Charo (the mama-son) to manage them and the items Trav mentioned are enforced.
I have been there when testing was done and right after the health talks. I have been shown both cedula's and the health certificates that are required for "employment" here.
The girls do consider this a job, and a good one, as many do not like the atmosphere and dangers associated with true freelancing in Sosua or elsewhere without a controlled environment.

I found the room safes very secure. Bolted to a immovable cabinet and very robust.
I've stored tons of money in them with no problem. BTW, one trick on ATM's. They limit you to 10k pesos per card insertion not per day! So, if you want to get more than 10k in one trip to the bank, just do it multiple card insertions.

BB's does profit, indirectly, in that some customers would be more likely to go out of their way to patronize a place that requires its independents to comply with health rules. Given a choice when in Costambar, I would take a BB's girl over a girl that I met at the beach for this very reason. In fact, I declined a "non-pro" for this reason.

This is my first post after having just returned from my first trip to the DR. Originally I had planned to go to either Vikings or Charlis Angels but decided that if I was going to the DR I really wanted to sample the local girls. So after a bit of research I came across BB's and decided it was the place for me. So I booked for 6 days. I also happened to get a timeshare down there that was a 3 bed villa with private pool that I thought I would take a few chicas to for a more private relax time.

I don't know either. As you know, you get somewhat of a reputation here when you come to BBs multiple times. I usually do not run into the problems that the newbies do because I know the ropes and the girls know that I know the ropes. Not bragging here, it is just a fact.
I am amazed as girls I do not even recognize, recognize you as soon as you arrive and talk to the other girls there. Within minutes the chica's gossip network lets everyone know who just checked into BBs. They require and enforce certan rules like health certificates, checkups, behaviour on-site, etc. because it prevetns bad experiences that would discourage business at the hotel, ie, rip-offs theft, STD, etc.
Business theory is that if they can guarantee clients a safe, controlled environment and good experiences with the girls, business will be good.
There is no "house-cut" as pimping is illegal, and they go to great lengths to keep it that way,as their are some corrupt local officials who would like to close them down.
Charo's salary comes from a monthly "fee" that the girls have to pay to be able to ply their trade at BB.

The taxi from BB of course, will not provide you an opportunity to negotiate.
I believe the latest price is about US$40-45 .
If you check out the cabs at the airport, just ask how much to Costamar, and see if you can get it cheaper.
Local altenatives in POP would be:
L'Oase, - in Costambar, within motorscooter ride of BB.
In POP, try Harbor View Condos (old Field of Dreams owner) in Puerto Plata, a short cab ride from BB, or Billy the owner can "fix you up".
also try the Mustang Ranch, on the far side of POP, just across from the Playa Dorada complex. They are just getting off the ground and are likely to have vacancies. Rooms seem cheap, though you would have to decide if their all-inclusive offer (room, food/drink, 4 hrs with girl) suits you.

It's on the other side of the airport, so a good 20 to 25 mins away from BB's, or maybe even a bit more, but I stayed at the Velero Beach Resort ( http://www.velerobeach.com/ ) which I liked vary much. Also, it's NOT an all-inclusive, so you can bring anyone in that you'd like.
As far as taxis go, why would you want to take the time and energy (and additional risk) just to save $5 or maybe $10? Unless you are truly on a total shoestring budget, I would suggest you just take the easy way out (and in) and use BB's recommended driver / cab.
If you REALLY want to save money, make sure the girls you take for ST (Short Time) for 1,300 pesos agree to 2 Pops BEFORE you agree to take them to the room. That's where you'll get some real savings.

If you decide you want to stay your last night at BB's and they are full. Ask them about a waiting list or make sure they know when you arrive you would like anything that opens up last min. Often times there is a last min. cancellation you can get.
Take the taxi that BB's will arrange. They are on time and have a sign with your name on it waiting for you. Trust me when you arrive it is a circus out front. You are excited and ready to go and you will not want to wait any longer to start your good time.
There is no better feeling than to arrive at BB's to welcome that makes you feel like Norm from Cheers.

I walked from BB's to the Costambar gate. I paid US$1 for the shared taxi to Separacion & Beeler Streets in downtown Puerto Plata. Thereafter, I paid US$1 for the shared taxi to Sosua.
Only thing I've noticed is that if someone else is splitting the taxi with you, and you have to wait on them, you could be in danger of missing the bikini contest if you arrive on Saturday on the American Airlines flight that gets in at like 3:50pm. In that case, I would take one of the awaiting taxis. As well, if they're raising the prices like I've heard, I'll probably still take an awaiting taxi. Especially if alone!

I'm just back from a great long weekend at Harbor View Condos, by way of thanks to Billy for being such a great host I just wanted to mention his new place here. Billy used to own the Field of Dreams Hotel... he now has a few condos for rent on a hill overlooking downtown Puerto Plata (a few minutes walk from Caribe Tours etc)
Condos can be rented daily, weekoly or monthly for about the same price as a hotel room. There's a sports bar with food on site, plus pool.
Obviously not for point n click activity like Blackbeards, but I recommend Harbor View for anyone looking for a little more independence and privacy but still good company around (both chicas and other mongers)

This is the Dominican Republic. You are going to a place that will not require you to need any type of game. You are paying a very high price for being in one of the ultimate "spoon fed" environments available there.
Trust me, the only color that those at O2 will see (as well as in most of the DR) in "gringo's" is GREEN, as in cash. If you are going to O2 you have GREEN.

There is no better feeling than to arrive at BB's to welcome that makes you feel like Norm from Cheers.Was getting dead bored at the resort last Sunday, took your advice to call BB just in case they had last minute cancellation. Effectively they had a basic room available from Sunday night to Tuesday night. Not much to add about BB, as everything has been written about them, only that they were up to par on everything that was previously said or written about them.
Javier the owner and everybody have been outstanding, and I enjoyed every minutes I have spent there, shooting the shit with other fellows mongers.
Definitively on my list to go again later this year.
We are 2 single fathers taking our children to Sousa or Puerto Palata. We are taking a nanny along with us and plan on doing the kids stuff during the day and my friend and I will hit the "scene" during the night. We are looking for a decent hotel. Kind of 4 star with pool and beach facilities.

R; Mustang, from what I have read are the same owner as Crystal, which is a Strip club downtown Puerto Plata, you can go up-stairs with any of the Dancing Queen, but the price is steep at $100. 00/US for one hour. Keep in mind that the company included in your Mustang Deal is for 4 Hours per day.
-How far away are mustang and bb by cab? (in case it sucks and I gotta moove)
R: About 20 minutes by cab, 25 max. Be ready to sweat if you are not used to rough driving, I can assure you that you can pass 3 car wide on a 2 lane road. Learn that in D. R. (P.S. I would never rent a car there) The cost is about 800 RDP. P. M. Me if you want the name and ph# of a reliable cab driver. Not the better english but enough to be understood. The kid is about 22 years old and drive his father's cab usually at night.
-And how much avrage is a all nighter? BB compared to mustang R: All nighter at BB is about 3500 RDP, Happy hour is 1200 RDP some will negotiate those prices, your choice.
-Wich has the best beach access R: at B. B. The beach is about 5 min walk, but as said Daytime only.

You guys should head to asia and you will see line ups at some of these places that will make your head spin. In Changping, a city just about an ninety minute drive from Hong Kong, the lineup could be three hundred girls on a slow weeknight to over five hundred on a weekend night. Now that is what I call a line up.
Three to five hundred girls between the age of 18-22, most of the girls are atleast a 6.5 or higher, all dress to kill. It sometimes resembles a Miss America Pageant. Dress in evening wear, club wear, costume design. There is not just one place but over a dozen places. Check it out. it will make your head spin.
After seeing all these places.... Mustang Ranch... Chicken Ranch... really ain't nothing.

I was asking myself the same question and price being equal. it seems MRR might be the better bargain (at least you know exactly what you're going to spend). Lots of reports on BB but not much on MRR. Here's the text of a recent email from MRR that may answer some questions.

I'm going there (MRR) next week to check it out. Just to make shure I've booked an All inclusive right in front. So if The MRR is not up to my standard I have a back up plan, I won't reserve anything and show up there since from what I read their never full, I will report back after.

Hello, My name is Deepmmpactt. I am new to this, forum, but a OLD pro at mongering. I just got back from Puerto Plato. I decided to give Mustang Ranch Resort a try. I heard a lot of great reviews, concerning Black Beards. But, I decided to go with MRR. I was picked up promptly at the airport. The taxi guy was extremely friendly, my spanish is horrible at best. LOL. But we made small talk. I was at first horrified, . When we turned onto this dirt road. I asked myself WHAT THE HELL DID I GET MYSELF INTO! , LOL It looked like a prison, Escape From New York. The movie came to mind. But I was pleasantly surprised. When we, got into the walls of the fort, It was beautiful! And clean, I couldn't believe it. I checked in with Michelle, her english was excellent! Michelle was very professional, I got to my room, it was spotless, I was pleased. Well I won't bore you with every detail. LOL, but I looked around, everything was extremely clean. Lino the owner knocked on my door and invited me to a BBQ. I was really impressed! He was a very gracious owner, he kept telling me, over and over, How happy he was to see me, and welcome. And if I needed anything feel free to tell him or his staff. Lino owns Crystals the nightclub, he personally drove me there, I told him of this Chatroom forum, he issued a challenge! Stay at his Resort, and he will throw in a free Chica! And gift, in exchange for your report.
He really values the opinion of these Forum Members. Tell him Clements sent you. LOL The challenge is just for members of this chatroom. And he is willing to to fly the most senior monger here, airfare, hotel. Etc. To take a look at his new resort. And to give him an honest opinion of his facilities. Damn What a deal! I am a newbie! I am staying at MRR in June and I set everything up with Michele and her English is very good as you mentioned and she was very helpful and pleasant to deal with it. The food was pretty good, I had pork chops, rice, corn. Etc He also had steak on the menu. I want to thank you guys for the friendly reception, to my post.
I don't work for the Mustang Ranch Resort. I am a humble bus driver in Portland, Oregon. LOL I just wanted to give you guys some honest feed back.
The power did go out a couple of times, that was quite an annoyance, but it came back on in a couple of minutes, Oh yeah, bring some insect repellant, the mosquitos consider you all inclusive. LOL they will eat you alive, I found out the hard way, LOL The chicas or putas, are a variety of 4-8 the highest I saw was a 8 and a half, and you guess it, she was surrounded by mongers, so I didn't even waste my time. Now my brothers it gets juicy. Lino told me if his staff is willing, they are fair game. Yes thats right they are 'IN BOUNDS"Theressa, the bar tender screwed my brains out. Michelle declined but I heard stories of several others doing the wild thang! And moon lighting! Lino gives his blessing, but a polite no means no! I got lucky twice. TLN. 3000 PESOS BUT IT WAS THE BEST FUCKING OF MY LIFE! The alcohol was served, and Lino is very generous with his clientel. I don't want to sound like a commercial, but Black Beards will be hard pressed, to top fucking the staff, with the owners blessings. Remember be respectful. If they decline leave it at that! Lino says Crystals is a horse of a different color! Be prepared to get ambushed by every available girl in the place! Its quite overwhelming at first, but you will get the hang of it, my monger brothers. I don't know who is the senior monger here, so please throw out some names of seniors here. LOL I don't mean old. LOL with all do respect. I love Pattaya Beach Thailand. But Dominican is a lot closer and a lot cheaper. LOL so I will RETURN OF THE JEDI"back to Puerta PLta in April. 1). The rate I paid was 178. 00 all inclusive. And they delivered! Food, chica, drinks all day and part of the night The bar closes at 12:00AM
(Midnight) then they open up early the next day. They even make you dinner to take to your room, in case you get hungry after the restrurant closes!
2). You get vouchers upon arrival. So if you get 3 days 2 nights all inclusive. Michelle hands you 2 vouchers. They have numbers on them and she assigns them out. Beware they tell you, don't LOSE THEM! , they won't be reemburst. So Remember! Where you put them! . Lino saID people were lying to him and claiming, lose vouchers When they suddenly appear. So they were taking advantage of him, he says don't get him wrong, if the situation is out of, your control, he will gladly, replace vouchers, but a drunk stuper. Doesnt count. LOL, they go buy how many actual nights, you stay. Thats why he issued a challenge. He will throw in a free chica so 3 days 2 nights=3 chicas instead of the two, or 4 chicas instead of 3 if you did 4days 3 nights. You get the point.
3). Lino has in the pass, bus the chicas to the resort, but usually he says, he sends a car to pick you up and thats when, the circus begins, so prepare yourself! Its overwhelming having 15 to 20 girls hawk you at the same time take my advice, asked to be seated at the couch area, then they will parade pass you one by one, it a little more calmer. LOL each girl vying for your attention! And she puts your hand in interesting places, to out do the other girls, I aint into putting my hands in all places'I value my health; LOL you get the picture! But its nice. Once you made the your selection, you guys drink a little. Then you go to the manager, and present him with the voucher. She goes ahead and gets dressed, then a car awaits you two outside to take you back to have fun! Remember 4 hours. If you go a minute over its (50 us dollars) so you might as well keep her until daybreak. LOL if you are going to keep her. LOL I don't know why, I am a small fry. LOL but He made it a point to talk to me a few minutes here and there. To see How I felt about his place. I really appreciated that. I hope I have a even better expierience at Black Beards in April. LOL I did go by there and the atmosphere was exciting just walking up to the place. LOL I am going to split my time between Blackbeards and Mustand Ranch. Who knows Black Beards may be the best thing since peanut butter. LOL I hear rave reviews about Black Beards! The ratio. Is probaly 15-30 guys approx. And 45-60 or more chicas. Believe me you want go back to Mustang Ranch empty handed! LOL

This is my first (and who knows, maybe my last) report on this board, so forgive me if I leave anything out.
I arrived in Puerto Plata, on Sunday 3/2 at around 3:30. My nerves were already jumpy since this was my first trip where mongering was the priority. It was also my first time leaving the country on my own, and my first time in a third world country. I've been to several other Caribbean islands before, but the DR is definitely different. Not that I didn't expect that, but still. I was also kind of traveling in secret, which had me a little stressed from the get go.
I made it through customs without a hitch and headed outside where several drivers were holding up Blackbeard's signs with different names on them. I spotted mine and headed over to the guy. At first he didn't believe me. "tu nombre? TU NOMBRE? ! " as he pointed at the sign. "Si. Mi Nombre", which caused an eruption of laughter from the other drivers. The already uncomfortable feeling I had was starting to increase. I'm in my mid-twenties, which is pretty young for blackbeard's, but I also look a lot younger. Probably about 21 or so. So it was no mystery why they were laugher. But off we went to the car and a few minutes later we were on our way.
The streets of Puerto Plata are insane. There are way more motorcycles, mopeds and dirtbikes than any other kind of vehicle. And the kids driving them are outta control. It was cool to see, even if a little scary at times.
We got to Costambar about 30 minutes later and were at BB's a minute after that. I checked in, met Javier, who was an absolutely wonderful host/manager, and headed up to my room to shower and unpack. At check in, Javier also questioned my age, as well as another guest who was checking in as well, which was a little uncomfortable, but what could I really expect? Not a big deal, really.
I was pretty impressed with the place. The grounds weren't too big but weren't too small. The pool looked nice. There were plenty of beautiful girls all over the place, making eyes at me as I headed toward my room. The room itself (deluxe single) was spacious enough with a nice big king size bed. I had trouble getting my air conditioner to really do much more than slowly leak out a small amount of cold air, but the ceiling fan worked wonders. I noticed there wasn't any soap in the bathroom which kind of changed my shower plans, so I headed back down to the front desk to ask about where I could go to get things like that (soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, etc). In a flash, Javier provided me with a package that had everything I needed in it, free of charge. I still needed a taxi to take me to what I heard was the closest ATM. The round-trip cost was $25US just to get cash. Oof. (I've found that there are several ATM's at the entrance to OceanWorld's adventure park, as well as in their casino, and the cabfare to Ocean World is considerably cheaper (it cost me 15US roundtrip).
After getting back from the ATM, I showered and headed downstairs to meet the chicas. I met Mary, who looked really good. She was tiny. Probably barely 5 foot and she spoke english really well. After a few drinks with her and her sister, the two of us headed to the Jacuzzi for some fun. I'm sure the difference in cost is extremely vast, but I couldn't help regretting not staying there as I walked around the entire resort for 2 hours while I waited for the casino to open.
The grounds were beautiful. There were gorgeous pools everywhere. Amazing poolside bars and restaurants. The beach was unbelievable. It looked like a Disney resort. The casino was small, but nice. And the view of the landscape from the marina deck was breathtaking. I felt extremely lonely as I sat on a pool chair on the marina deck, for about 20 minutes, waiting for the casino to open. I missed my family and friends and completely regretted taking this secret vacation by myself. The sun went down and the breeze coming in off the sea was whipping my newly sunburned skin and it felt horrible. The casino opened. I went in, lost 80 bucks at the blackjack table in a shorter amount of time than it took for the dealer to shuffle the decks, and left, seriously reconsidering the way I'm living my life. Haha.
That night was the worst night I had in the DR. My sunburn was out of control. One of the worst I've ever had. I took a bath and the chills I had coming out of it were insane. That was at 8pm. I just stayed in all night and fell asleep by 10. I woke up a ton of times during the night whenever I made the slightest movement. Every part of my body was badly burnt except the one that led me to the DR in the first place. Unbelievable.
The next morning I couldn't even stand up. For the first 5 minutes I needed to hold the wall while I waited for the pain to subside. Truly awful. I booked my trip at the last minute, so it involved switching rooms part of the way through. It was Thursday and today was the day I had to switch. Great. I limped around my room packing everything up and headed downstairs to find out what my new room was. After lugging my huge and heavy backpack downstairs on my now blister-covered shoulders, I found out that I was only moving to the room next door and brought it all back up. Oof.
It was at this point that I decided it might be in my best interest to cut my losses, eat the service charges to change my flight and head home. I called my airline and arranged to leave on Friday instead of Sunday. I hobbled back up to my room, making some empty promises about coming back down to hang out to some really nice guys, and spent the next 24 hours on my back, in bed, waiting for my own personal hell to end. The tv stopped at the beginning of this stint, came back on for a few hours, and then went out again. Awful.
Friday afternoon I said my goodbyes to Javier, thanked him for everything, and took a cab to the airport.
I'm so glad to be home.
Now, I blame most, if not all of this experience on ME. I didn't have such a good time, but I know most everyone else has a GREAT time while there. I think this kind of mongering just isn't for me. I need something a little more private. The only reason I'm writing this is for other guys like this who maybe aren't so into hanging out and bonding with other guys or can forsee themselves feeling awkward being one of the younger guys around. I've been to BBs a few times, but have always did short time with the chicas.

I too was uncomfortable the first time at BBs as I only was exposed to a more secluded and private type of mongering. It took me a little to get used to this, but now the "guy time" I get to spend at BBs is one of the better parts of the trip. This is my first (and who knows, maybe my last) report on this board, so forgive me if I leave anything out.Sorry that you apparently did not have a good time at BBs. I will be there April 26-May 4. Maybe, psychologically, you just didn't open yourself to allow for a good experienace? Or maybe mongering in places like DR just isn't for you. For me, the difficult aspect to get over was the hardness of the women (ie tourist fuck) and the occasional disappointing incidents (girl leaving before I came and demanding more than we bargained for). But I have learned from these experiences. I take the hobby for what it is and it suits my purpose. All in all, I have met many more sweethearts than putas and have had more good experiences than bad. This will be my first trip to DR. Funny, I have some of the same hidden reservations since I'm a young bloke late twenties as well who has kept it to the private encounters. This is definitely a different environment when I head on my trip in a little bit to the DR as well.
I figure though I'll grab a few drinks and hopefully meet some nice fellas to hang out with when I arrive to help with the lay of the land. However, I'm going for a more structured approach at MRR since it is my first time although BB seems just as simple if not more so.

No disrespect but it sounds like you were a little nervous and intimidated by going down there and being by yourself. No condemns or soap? You didn't network with any guys either? I feel alot of the same about the stress of covering your tracks to family, etc. It really can cause stress on the entire trip and I have experienced the same feelings and emotions. In fact, I have not enjoyed trips before because of that. It has helped me to travel with another person a few times but most of my friends are married and not into this. I've been to BBs a few times, but have always did short time with the chicas.

Typically, All Night, or Toda La Noche (TLN) has been 2500 pesos (70-80US).
That is usually for a girl you meet that evening and keep till breakfast, -say about 9-10 am. Depending on when you met her, 8-10 hours. If you want her
from 2pm on, you're talking about twice as long and she would expect twice the money. (almost all day and all night). That's reasonable.
And depending on the chemistry, I'd include meals, having dinner and/or breakfast afterwards.

1. BB: Puerto Plata has two bars/strip clubs, Crystals and El Bohen. EB is moslty locals. Crystals is more for guys sneaking away from the family at the all-inclusive for an (expensive) quickie.
MR: Same, both are on the outskirts of Puerto Plata.
2. BB has a pretty, quiet, relaxing beach 5 min. walk away. MR is inland, and just has the pool.
3. Both are outside Puerto Plata. Just walk the streets or along the Malecon (beach promenade) in POP. Personally, I prefer the pros, as everything is up front and more honest. I'd rather not screw up the life of a "normal" girl. With a pro, you save so much time too, no wooing or courting to get her into bed.
4. BB: 2500 Pesos (75-80US). MR and Crystals have the same owner, same girls. Haven't used either MR or C before, but understand to take a girl out of Crystals overnight used to be about 100-130US. (Any body else out there carre to comment here?)

Also what was the best place(s) that you found to exchange money. I have read posts that state the rate one gets at the airports suck. I have to fly into Santiago and will be picked up by someone from the ranch for a small fee since airport pickups are only free if you are flying into Puerto Plata and from reading here there are little if no places to change money near MRR since it is on the outskirts.

I was thinking of going in early February before the prices get high for Carnival(which is Feb 21-25, 2009). Americans do need a Tourist Visa to travel to Brazil. Bring your passport, two passport size photos, and proof of your flight information to your local brazilian consulate along with $100.00(price 2005 when I got mine) and you can pick it up the next business day. The Visa is good for 5 years, as of when mine was issued.

Lino (the owner of Crystals), the girls sorta cring when he is around. They know if you purchased an all inclusive package, they better deliver or they have to answer to him. So the girls aint so gun-ho about that bait and switch tactic. At least I haven't seen it. So you kinda have leverage with the girls, being they work for him. They have to work at his place the next day. And yes. Mandingo AL. Alot of girls have that ghetto ass! You and I adore, you don't have to go to Sousa to find that big assed Chica. LOL Crystals is alive and kicking. "NO BUTTS" about it. No pun intented. LOL Lino and myself talked alot about the challenge, but nothing was set in stone, he e-mailed me and we are going to Iron out the details, when I get there, in April. I will report back to you guys, when I get the full details. It was HIS idea, He really want to make in-roads with you guys. I see WHY. You guys are A GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS. Hey guys,
I want to try BB next. I would love any suggestions, comments and ideas. As you are well aware I have tried Mrr. I looked around BB, and I was very impressed. Like I said earlier, I need to spell out to these chicas there. I aint gonna get jacked for more money. I always add alittle extra, if she really brings the A-game. LOL. So thank you guys for your past post. Its very helpful and its probaly Kryptonite. To these shady chicas. LOL The battle is easy, when you have the weapon of knowledge.
