I was in Sosua from April 25- May 6, 2002. I went down there with Diablo and Hoony and met about 20 guys from the WSG down there. We stayed at the Sosua Palace .ThePalaceSosua1@hotmail.com,which is owned by John, an American. I met Jazz, EMRCool and Snowbird. He has a small 5 room hotel with a swimmimg pool and Jacuzzi, and a bar. Every room has Cable, Air conditioning and a safe. He is in the process of adding a third floor, since there were so many of us, he arranged for some of us to stay at Club Residential and the ???? , which are both guest friendly as well. John has a stable of chicas that come and go. They usually want 800 pesos but you can work that out with them. You can also bring in who ever you want to. We went swimming any time we wanted to. At one point there must have been a dozen chicas hanging out with us. I must have been with about 10 chicas in 11 days. The Merengue bar was hopping as was High Caribe.
For my entire trip, it was pretty much the same routine; wake up, see who was by the pool and get some morning action. Every afternoon go for a swim and play with the chicas. There was always a couple around. Soronji was my favorite. She and Mercedes were always there. Esther was also around everyday and she gives a great massage. Yocasta and Loli also stopped by a lot as well. The chicas wanted between 500 - 800 pesos per shot.
Taxis from the airport to this town run $12.
It is about a 15 minute ride.
There are many internet stores in town and maybe a dozen banks with ATM's thru out the town. There must be 50 Restaurants as well. The Morua Mai, which is owned by Raphael said all WSG members get a 10 percent discount.
We also hit Crystals, Mountainview, LaBoem and Long Beach. The girls at these clubs seemed fixed on 2000 pesos for the night. There were a lot of hot girls working, but we really didn't want to pay they asking price. Be careful for the girls outside the clubs, since some of them will rip you off if given the chance. Mountainview had about 20 -30 chicas but they weren't as hot as my past visits there. Near the end of the trip, Clemenza showed up. He is a DR regular as well.
I brought a digital camera down with me, this is a must, and shot a few pictures which I posted on my Yahoo Club. Its called "INSEARCHOFCHICAS". I think I have about 125 pictures posted there.
Most of those chicas can be found at "THE Palace".
Go to Yahoo.com, then hit groups/clubs, then punch in Dominican Republic. You will be in the general area then.
A lot of you are asking about white girls. There are very few of them around. If you don't like the tan to black girls, maybe you should go some place else. This is for guys that like pretty girls of all colors.

Its amazing how many guys go down there for the first time, meet a girl, then start sending her money. I met a few with American Boyfriends and still managed to bang them. They may run a little more money but it is well worth it. They are alone and very bored. No matter how much you send them, they always want more. They never seem to be happy.

I will be returning late June. As far as another Fest goes, I did only one and that was enough for me. The prices were driven up because all the guys wanted the same chicas. They stayed with a chica for an hour then released her. When someone wanted the girl for the night she said "NO".

I went down to Sousa 2 weeks before your FuckFest and I must say that it was a great time. I dont think that it is a bad idea to send down money occasionally to a girl that you meet in DR just to keep the lines of communication open but trust me I think that everyone that goes to DR knows that when you are not there the girl that you were fu***** is with another hombre. Unless you are with the chica 24-7 she will be with another man. It just economics they have to eat and the only way for them to make any money is to turn a few tricks now and then. If everyone keeps that in mind then no feelings should get hurt

Just a quick note..... I've noticed a downward spiral in the message board.... I see you guys keep on advertising for john and fantasy.... I think this is crap, (if you want to go to a chicken house, go to vegas not to sosua or DR). You dont need to be held by the hand in dr, to help you find a chica.... money talks.
Pointers about hotels, bars and staying safe are cool (stories about fucking are always fun also).
Its all about having fun and learning by experience... the dollars go far in dr..... always keep that in mind-

Sure pick any Hotel Jack and then Find out "NO GUESTS" or you have to pay for "GUESTS". Better yet just pick up any Chica and when you wake up, find all your shit missing.
There are very few nice, chica friendly hotels down there.
The Palace, ???? and Club Residential are three that are up to our standards, ie Air Conditioning and 24 hour Electricity.

I have been going there for 5 years and believe me when I tell you how hard it is to be going in and out with 3 or more chicas everyday. Not a problem at the Palace. Most hotels don't like you swimming with the chicas and they want them gone by morning. We never heard from you before, what prison were you released from?

I am heading down to Puerto Plata on October 5 for the third time this year.
I will be much wiser with the way I blow my cash this time.
I am staying at Jack Tar again because I got an incredible deal, plus I like to have a secure home base sanctuary close to other casinos, clubs, and the golf course.
From Toronto, one week all-inclusive hotel, flight, bus, departure tax, all for $758 Canadian, $480 US, with no single supplement.
I plan on travelling around to check out Sosua, which was totally dead last time, Cabarete, and maybe Santiago.
Hopefully I will not have to deal with the next hurricane of the season while I am there.

El Bohem is still the best club in Puerto Plata although the rates have gone up. Most girls now ask for 2500 pesos RD for an all-nighter. At the time of this writing, $1 US = 20.5 pesos RD. Some go for 2000. This includes the 600 peso exit fee/salida/bar-fine. You can have a short-time session with the girl on-site for a lower price, but when I find a girl I like, I prefer to take her back to my hotel for multiple sessions.
Cristal's is a little cheaper then El Bohem, but doesn't have the same selection to choose from. I usually go here first, but if there is nothing to my liking, I head to El Bohem.
Orion Discoteque also looks promising. I wanted to check this place out, but never got around to it. Has anyone been there?

Gpiper, I agree there are gems to be found at the High Caribbean Disco in Sosua, but in my experience, the 8's and 9's are few and far between. I have been there many times, but rarely find anything to my liking. It is also worth noting that the girls at El Bohem get monthly STD checks. Sure, the free-agents who work the streets and High Caribe are cheaper, but you are rolling the dice. To each his own. BTW, 2000-2500 pesos = $98-$122, not $140.
$140!!. Why pay that?, when you can go to Sosua like i did in sept. and pay $45 for an all-niter with an 8.5 (best looking girl in High Caribe)!

Just some information from Puerto Plata.
First of all the government has found a way to cut about 20% of it's
debit. They will not honor any bills that have a mark or blemish on them. A
slight cut, tear, pencil or pen dot will make a bill invalid.
So you can see that about 20% of all bills are of no value any more. So be
advised that when you get change or exchange your dollars for pesos be sure
the bills are pristine.
Second bit of information is that the Puerto Plata Beach Resort & Casino
is selling of the units as condos. One and two bedroom units. They are also
renting the hotel rooms at a very good rate of 475 pesos per night. About
$21.us per night. The rooms have a living area with stove and bar fridge,
cable television, and are air conditioned. The complex has a pool with
security and is companion friendly. With the beach across the road and Long
Beach within walking distance it is a great value. If your looking for a
place to stay long term they will negotiate a good rate for a month or more.

I have found that fares from Indianapolis to DR are very low right now and I have never been there before. But for the last few days I have been reading the posts here and now I REALLY want to go (4 months of snow sucks). I do not want to get involved with any "all inclusives" because I like to hang-with-the-natives when I travel and absorb some local scenary; thanks to the earlier posts I've read I think I have the scenary part covered. So, I would like to ask for some advice:
1) Will I be able to find a decent, not-so-expensive, spartanesqe place to stay if I show up with out reservations, possibly chica friendly (or just not unfriendly), in the Puerto Plata and the Sosua areas?
2) Anyone know the cost to stay at the Sosua Palace? I emailed them but never got a response.
3) Is there an influx of Spring Break people towards the end of March and the begining of April? Are they obnoxious idiots, or fun idiots?
4) Is there any particular bar or stripclub that any of you guys might consider a "do not miss" destination for a new guy to region?
5) I would apreciate any extraneous advice from experienced people (i.e. Don't get all drunk and fall down the stairs, don't eat the yellow snow....)!

First I want to thank all of you for the useful information posted on this website.
Second I will be in Puerto Plata the last week in July beginning on Tues July 22. I hope to get a chance to meet some of you and buy you a Presidente in appreciation.
I am staying at an All-inclusive as a base. I didn't get the info on the local hotels soon enough. Couldn't pass up the price.
Anyway, I will try to get off the resort as much as possible. I want to play golf 3-4 times while I am there. Any recommendations? Should I bring my sticks or are the rental clubs good enough to enjoy my round? I usually shoot in the 80's.

went to bohem, prices looks still on the rising coating even 2500-3000 pesos, some barging maybe possible , but for this price not interested. still some good looking girls.
My buddy visited Puerta Plata in February. He said he had trouble finding non-pros on the streets the way he used to because of the police harassing them all the time. He hasn't been back there since and I am wondering if the situation with the non-pros has changed.
Considering a short visit to Cuba by boat/ferry from DR. Anybody interested to join?

Difference in time spent should not be that much! Considering going to airport, waiting there an hour or so, than flight itself, formalities, trip from airport, cab and so on. Boat trip from the Nothern part of DR to Cuba should be not longer than 3-4 hours. And you arrive not to Havana with all the stupid things of the capital and turist center but to a non-spoiled by tourists coastal area. If anybody is willing to take a little risk and to make a company I would try. In September. I speak some Spanish.

When heading toward Puerto Plata from Playa Dorada take the first right on the street that goes to the beech--goes past Crystals. There are at least 2 massage parlors on your left BBJ & CFS avail. Walk around a little, a lot of independents available at the street bars on the same side

Suggest that you may consider flying American Airlines from Indianapolis, In to Puerta Plata via Miami (short lay over in Miama). Leaves Indy in early am and arrives in Puerta Plata around 2:30 same day. Much better connection-wise (and less expensive than Continental.) No stay over in EWR either. Another big savings. My buddies and I are going there for second time.

I was In Puerta Plata last week, and the Peso is at 40 to the dollar, which more than makes up for the more expensive women in Puerta Plata(compared to Boca Chica)
The girl at a place called Galactica were all amazing, about 12 girls all 8-10.
400 pesos short, and 2000 all night.
A bit high but heh, you get what you pay for.
In six nights I went to many places, but every night I ended up at Galactica. The girls there were like pudding, clean, sweet, and tasty.
I also checked out Mountain view, the girls there were like 6-8, so I took home an 8 for the night for 1500 pesos, it was a little high but heh, it's still only 43 dollars.
The exit fees at both places were three hundred pesos. Mountain View has a bar, massage parlor and hotel. The hotel has rooms for two hours for 200 pesos.
Attached is a girl from Mountain view, she was OK.
I stayed at Castillo which is twenty a day and guest friendly. It's a four star hotel easily, but its not well known so it's still cheap. they are located in a gated community and have private power, which is important if ou go there. It sucks when the power goes out.

Wow, great PP summary Dominiking. How did you find out about Galactica. I'll be staying near PP soon but I'll being using Taxis. Do they all know about this place? If you go for short, do they have rooms on premises?
I don't know Puerto Plata well and have never been to Mountain View, Galactica or any other bars. Do they let you negotiate at all?

I have just returned from a week in the POP area. Had a great time and thanks to some of the info from this and the UMV board(s) I was able to make the most of my time there.
I ran into some really great people both visiting and the local ex-pats in the area where I stayed.
Ran into Wolfy Baby while there. This guy is a MACHINE. I feel compelled to nominate him for the TITANIUM DICK award. I don't know how it is humanly possible to keep it up for as many times as this guy had chicas, but it was truly a sight to see. Also, his selection of model quality chicas at the breakfast table each morning, was worth an admission fee!
Culebra: Humanely possible! Doubtful, without the help of either Viagra, Cialis or Levitra!

Blackbeards is in Costamber which is a gated community. Its on the
other side of Puerto Plata, about 10-15 minutes from the clubs. Sosua
is 25 minutes from the clubs. It is a chica friendly hotel such as
Europa, Villa Chessa, Palace, Blue Dolphin, Voramar. It has a pool
and the mgmt is helpful same as the above mentioned places. I can't
say that I would stop coming to Dominican Republic if any of these
mentioned hotels closed. I would find another.
All the hotels are inter changeable. I come here for my novia and all
the other chicas walking around!

Not alot of daytime options that I know of. Best bet is to make arrangements the night before. You can try Luz Maria for some daytime action. They have some decent talent there. Luz Maria charges 800 pesos for the room and the chicas ask for 3000 pesos. I had an okay time for 2000 pesos.

I found some cheap flights to Santo Domingo, but it seems like girls are more expensive there. When I was in Puerta Plata I never paid more than 500 pesos for an hour. But I see many people do, Is it because it is that hard to find them, or because I speak a little Spanish. Anyone with insight, please hit me back because I am hesitant to travel to Santo Domingo if it is so expensive.

Airline fares seem to be at all time highs. I have been checking several locations and the DR for weekends from Newark is running about 7-800. Appears to be too few airplanes to cover the demand. not good for the non business traveler to friendly places like the DR.

I agree, airfares are starting to get crazy. A couple of suggestions:
#1 go to www.travelocity.com and click on the fare watcher icon and input your city to Puerto Plata (POP) or desired DR location. You can then input a price that if it drops below that price, travelocity will automatically email you to let you know of the price drop.
#2, go to www.applevacations.com, and they offer airfare only on charter flights and many times you can find a great deal from your city. I recommend checking it every couple of days, because they're always adding deals.
#3, check American airlines, AA.com, because they have the most flights per day among major carriers, and generally the lowest price.

I just got a flight leaving from JFK (Flight 1797) to POP on January 9 & returning to NYC on January 13. Only catch I choose to fly into Newark & the flight is $460. The AA customer rep. told me the flight will go up daily, have to hurry.

The Paradise resort in the Playa Dorada complex charges $50US for guests to bring in a chica. This is outrageously expensive. There are several inexpensive hotels in town.
I spent a few nights at Cabanas Isla Del Paraiso. It is just outside of town on the way to Costambar. Depending on when you arrive, I paid between 400 to 500 pesos for the room for the night including a couple of drinks. I thought this was very inexpensive.
The Paradise has very nice timeshare apartments and the guests are allowed to bring in a few people for no charge. The AI food and drinks are extra charge if you want them.
If you are staying at a resort in the Playa Dorada complex, do not pay the listed taxi prices. I always paid half or less or just walked outside of the complex and got my own.
I usually paid 500 pesos for a couple of hours plus 200 pesos per hour after that plus a couple of drinks.
Gringo Dick, I think the Girls Trap Inn may be the old Sand Trap Inn which is now Blackbeards. I have heard it is okay and they have pictures of chicas they will bring for you. It is a little out of the way in Costambar. I think you would be much better off in Sosua or Puerto Plata.

First of all I have been to DR several times (Boca Chica). I'm not that aquainted with Puerto Plata. I a 32 yrs old African American male. I was wondering if I can Score with some of the Euro/Canadian/German white women visting POP. I have heard that alot of white women actually visit POP to meet Dark skinned men. Has anybody noticed this in POP. I have heard of Fine looking German women giving it up to the motococho guys. I love the Chicas in DR but it would be nice to score with a hot German/Canadian chic while im there also.

I think you would be lovely called a "SANKIE," if thats what you want you should go to clubs like, i think I might have the name wrong, its called Crazy Moon. It's a club in the middle of Playa Dorado complex.
I heard all you have to do is dress well & dance up a storm & your in there, but the women I've seen I wouldn't call HOT.

Please somebody share any info on Costambar. Any recommended reasonably priced accomodation? The only one known to me is BlackBeards but it seems a bit overpriced. Any other info on Costambar is very welcome. How much is cab from PP airport? Is there fewer tourists in Costambar than in Sosua? What are pick-up joints for chicas?Reliable places to exchange money at a good rate? Please help with info! Only 10 days left before a hard earned and long waited vacation.
Actually I want to stay in Costambar because of its nice beach. Any other suggestions on good beaches in PP area?

chapter 05: costambar/puerto plata - motoconcho from hell
i packed up and ran around in the morning getting ready to head to costambar. after eating at pj's, i rented a phone from a nearby telecommunications shop. phones are inexpensive and easy to rent. the cost was $2 us per day with a 500 peso deposit ($13 us) that is returned when you bring back the phone. look for orange signs on buildings that say "orange". those signs indicate they have the phones available or sell the credits for the phones. you can buy the credits all over the place and local calls are inexpensive. even long distance is cheap as long as you are on the receiving end of the call.
i bought a map at alf's that had street sections for puerto plata, santiago, and santo domingo. i called blackbeard's resort and i was fortunate to get one of their best standard rooms because of a cancellation. i then walked to an alternative taxi stand that fantasy had told me about. this stand is across the street from the only gas station in town. it looked dumpy, but i was able to find a ride to costambar for 300 pesos, just over $8 us. the two regular taxi stands in town wanted $25 us for the ride. i had the driver take me to the voramar where i grabbed my bags.
the driver wasn't familiar with blackbeard's resort, but i had the address so he said it would be no problem. he was very friendly and talkative along the way, pointing out various landmarks and giving me a little history lesson. i was tired, so i listened but don't remember much of it. we entered puerto plata after about 25 minutes where we hit a little street traffic. we pulled into costambar about 10-15 minutes after that.
costambar is a small community on the outskirts of puerto plata in the opposite direction of sosua. the entrance has a guarded post where many moto drivers hang around. we drove past the post before stopping near some pedestrians for help with directions. the converstations took place in spanish that was too rapid for me to understand. we continued on based on the directions, but the driver didn't seem confident with what he was told. we soon stopped for additional directions, then took a few turns with the driver apparently. fortunately, the phone came in handy. i had the number ready and called the hotel, handing the phone to the driver.
it seemed to take a while for the driver to explain where he was, but once that was established, we quickly made it to blackbeard's, or as they call it, hotel barbra negra. i included a small tip for the driver for his patience and assistance, then carried my bag inside.
i thought the surroundings were impressive. after quickly checking in at the rate of $45 us for the night (not including taxes/fees) i put my bags away and took a look around. upon entering the gate, you are greeted by a white stone water fountain. a large building is staight ahead which houses the reception desk, a lounge, a small computer room, a pool table, and the bar. to the left is a wall with a 24 hour jacuzzi on the other side. to the right is a large shack-like structure used as a dining area. past the bar and dining area is a large pool with a large building full of guest units beyond that.
blackbeard's has ladies available that come during the day (and possibly some that live on-site, i didn't ask) available for dates. i saw a few when i arrived, a couple were cute but were occupied. the others i wasn't really interested in, but i thought it was a good setup for daytime options to find ladies without having to go out searching around town.
i decided to get some food so i grabbed a menu at the bar. one thing i didn't like about blackbeard's was that the ladies working the bar didn't seem very service oriented. i gave them some time to approach, but ended up having to go after them to take my order, they seemed more interested in conversing than seeing if i needed anything. the menu was a nice varied one and was reasonably priced. they also served food late until 11pm or midnight. i just ordered a small appetizer of hot wings and a beer.
after eating i went to use the computer. a lady asked me to wait a little because she was using the public phone. that's right, the computer is connected via modem and shares the phone line. with just the one computer with free internet and the phone next to it, i figured i wouldn't get much time online while at blackbeards.
as i left the computer and was walking back to my room, there were a couple of new ladies seated at the bar that invited me over. both were attractive and wanted my business, inviting me to spend a happy hour with them. i was only moderately interested as they were only casually made up and dressed, but asked the price anyways. they wanted a whopping $125 us for either or $200 us for both. i politely declined, thinking i might not be spending time with any ladies from blackbeard's.
i grabbed my street map and decided to head into town to find out where the night clubs were since i couldn't find addresses or directions during my research. i started off walking towards the costambar entrance, sure that i knew where i was going, but ended up being picked up by a moto while i was standing around looking confused at an intersection. there weren't that many turns, but i still tried to pay careful attention to the route between the entrance and blackbeard's for future reference. after about 10 minutes, the driver dropped me off at el bohen and i paid him his quoted 80 peso fare. (the covered taxis charge 200 pesos for the ride into town)
i asked a gentleman standing at the entrance about the location on the map and when they would be opening. after pointing it out, he invited me to take a look around and spend time with one of the ladies living on-site if i was so inclined. i told him i had other errands to run around town, but that i could use a bathroom. he led me into the back where there was a series of doors and knocked on one of them. a lady answered and invited me in to use the bathroom in her personal room. she asked if i wanted a date with her, so i told her i didn't have time but would be back later tonight. she was attractive enough, but i wanted to get out and see the other places before it got dark.
i left el bohen, then found another moto to take me to cristal, then had him drop me off at galactic club. a very cute lady was standing outside galactic club. she ran over and grabbed me when she saw me looking at her. she didn't seem to seriously think she'd talk me into using one of the short rooms with her, but she was happy and excited when i accepted, giving a high five to her friend. gisele quoted me 1000 pesos for her time plus 500 pesos for the short-time room rental.
the club was closed but the gentlemen led us into the building to access the short time rooms. i had to pay the money directly to him upfront, he asked for 2000 pesos. i told him that she only said 1500 pesos total. he confirmed the figure with her, acting surprised that she only asked for 1000 pesos for herself. after paying, gisele grabbed a condom from behind the bar, and we followed the man to a doorway on the right side of the room. past the door was a small rickety stairway that led to a hall full of small rooms. gisele then led me to a room and quickly closed the door where i saw her friend from outside was waiting. they gave me a hush signal, implying that i could have the both of them for the quoted price. unfortunately, the friend was older, unattractive, and missing teeth on top of that, so i declined.
gisele soon pushed me back onto the bed where she proceeded with a very fine bbbj. she had removed most of her clothes, but had left her top on. after the bbbj, she climbed on top of me and rode for a while. i managed to get her left breast out, but for some reason she was hiding her right one. after several positions and about half an hour later, we finally finished up. she didn't have any paper or towels in the room, so she sent naked across the hall to the bathroom. i left the door open while cleaning up, and saw her friend enter and they closed the door. i finished really quickly and returned to the room, not wanting to leave my wallet unattended with the two ladies behind closed doors. the friend left again while i got dressed. my pants appeared untouched and were under my other clothes.
after i got dressed, i was led the other way down the hall to another rickety staircase leading down on the outside of the building. i walked around the area trying to get my bearings on the map, but the street i was on didn't seem to be listed and several people that i asked for help couldn't point out where i was either. i think i got the correct location based on crosstreets, but i am not entirely certain.
i found a moto to take me back to costambar, but supposedly he wasn't allowed to enter and ended up dropping me off at the front entrance. i decided to walk the rest, relatively certain i knew the way back to blackbeards. i passed a supermarket where they had computers on the inside with high speed connections. i asked and was told they closed at 9pm. i continued on and was surprised to find myself lost again after walking a fair distance. i found my way back to a taxi stand for directions. they seemed simply enough, but still i got lost on the small, dark, windy roads. eventually a moto came by and offered a ride, so i just gave up and hopped on. it was a good thing i did, because i hadn't followed the directions correctly due to translation issues and had been walking in the wrong direction.
i went upstairs and rested for a while before returning back downstairs to eat, ordering the "captain hook" grilled steak and onions. a fair looking dark lady approached, so i bought her a beer. i declined her offer to spend time with her, telling her that i was going out to town later. she said i could find her at el bohen if i was interested. after eating, i checked the computer but it was occupied. there were several cute ladies around, but the best ones were busy, so i ended up talking with the second tier and playing with a couple of cats that were wandering the premises.
about 10:30pm i found a moto outside of blackbeards and asked him for a ride into town. i had to wait shortly while another moto came to pick up a female staff member that was also going into town. the four of us then headed out of costambar while i again tried to pay careful attention to the route.
this moto ride was a scary experience. the driver was in some kind of mood and was playing games with the other driver, speeding up and slowing down around him. at one point, he "tagged" the female passenger on the other bike, and he brought his front wheel to the other driver's rear wheel a number of times. i wasn't too happy about the dangerous driving on dark third country roads and was wondering if i we were going to make it to our destination ok. i was hesitant to tell him to chill out, believing that he was perhaps intentionally trying to scare me and might get even worse if i admitted that he was succeeding. i was somewhat relieved when we turned down the road to el bohen while the other driver continued on, but then my driver sped up to at least 60-70mph on what would probably be a 30 limit business street in the us. i ended up playing it cool the whole time, but i probably should have got his name and mentioned it to john, the owner of blackbeards. that was definitely one of the scarier experiences i've had in recent history.
i entered the gate to el bohen then up the flight of stairs leading to the entrance. the ladies were dressed up nicely in long dresses and rep001tered througout the place, probably a little less than half with customers. i saw the lady whose bathroom i used, the two that wanted the happy hour, and the one i saw at dinner. they all seemed to think that i had come there to visit them specifically, so it was a little uncomfortable when they all approached and looked confused about who i had come to see. i said hi to all and excused myself to walk around the place.
you face the small bar right upon entering after passing security. the rest of the room is shaped like an "l", with the long stem extended to your left where there is a small dancefloor at the base. the short stem branches off to the left after that. the place is relatively large with plenty of seating. the lighting is dim, so you can't make out faces too well unless you are somewhat close.
i had heard el bohen was supposed to be more upscale with prices to match. the dresses reflected this, but i wasn't impressed with the selection of ladies relative to what i'm sure was higher pricing. after a few beers and walking around to see all the faces and bodies, i ended up leaving to check out cristal.
a caught a cab outside to cristal. jonny the driver offered to wait for me, and against my better judgement, i didn't say no. i walked into the cave tunnel-like entrane into a small room where two ladies greeted me. one looked very nice at first glance. i continued past them into a large room.
upon entering the club from the lobby, you face a grand stage with large poles and a staircase/bridge kind of structure that looks like it would be used in some kind of broadway production. the area around the stage is down a few steps lower than the pathway around the outside. the restrooms are along the wall to the left and behind you, while the bar takes up the left side of the room. to the right and behind is the path that leads to some short time rooms, i believe. the back right corner of the room has some screens which i believe are used for private lapdances.
there were some nice ladies here, but like el bohen, none of them really stood out and the best ones were occupied. i spoke briefly to lady i saw in the lobby, but she was a lot older than i had thought when i saw her close up. she had a great body, but didn't seem too friendly. i forget her name, but she mentioned that she had lived in los angeles for 13 years.
one attractive lady that approached offered me a lap dance in the corner for 1000 pesos. she seemed offended when i balked at that price, so that converstaion ended quickly. i spoke with several others and gathered the going rate at both el bohen and cristal seemed to be about $120 including the ladies time and the exit fee. i'm sure this is negotiable, but i didn't really try.
it started getting late and i didn't see anyone i really wanted to take for $120, but i didn't want to spend the night alone either. fortunately, an attractive dancer named diana showed up. she was a step above most of the other ladies overall in terms of looks and how she carried herself in the bar. i was a bit foolish in not approaching her right away, but i was fortunately when she blew off several other gentlemen, seeming to sense my own interest in her. she had to dance shortly, but she was friendly and said she'd come talk to me as soon as she danced. i watched part of her show, but mostly walked around to make sure there was no one else i was interested in. after her set, she came by my side and i bought her a drink.
with few other alternatives and knowing other gentelemen were interested, i ended up accepting diana's asking price of $100 to return with me to the hotel. i paid 1050 to the bar for the exit fee, and waited while she got her things together. while i was waiting, i saw her in the lobby in what appeared to be an argument with another gentleman, but she eventually came back and was ready to go.
the ride to the hotel was interesting with diana emphasizing that other guys wanted to be with her but she chose me. the signals she gave during the ride were mixed. on the plus side, she was very playful, pulling out her breasts, spreading her legs, and guiding my hand to play with her on the way. on the negative side, she spent a lot of time on the phone, at one point telling someone that she had just left to eat and would be back in several hours. she also brought up the idea that i should pay her now which was a really bad sign, but i just ignored it.
we were nearly back to the hotel when diana suddenly realized that she had left her passport and id at the club. i thought this was very strange, as i wondered why they wouldn't be kept in her purse, but i suppose the club might make the ladies surrender them while they are working so they can't just run off. the cab driver also seemed suspicious, and asked me if i wanted to return to get her stuff. his tone suggested that he didn't believe her, but i couldn't really say no and expect a good time. when we got back to the club, the driver got out of the car to make sure she went inside and didn't leave with anyone else. i sat there wondering if i made a good decision with diana. jonny went inside after waiting a while, but he returned and she came out shortly after that.
the second ride back consisted of more playing, but she didn't seem inclined to kiss during the ride, giving me only small pecks.
after we were let out, diana asked the driver for his number and mentioned that she would need a ride to santo domingo the next day. the driver wanted 800 pesos which was high, probably taking on a charge for waiting. the standard was 200 pesos for a one-way ride, so it was only about 200 more than what nearly three one way rides, so i just paid it and we walked in. diana seemed excited when i pointed out the jacuzzi when we entered and mentioned going in later.
diana started undressing when i pulled out my camera. she was also open to some nude dancing on film. she then wanted her money up front which i went ahead and paid. we both showered up and soon found ourselves naked on the bed. diana was a very enthusiastic performer with lots of dfk, bbbj, and daty. i was also surprised to find she was very tight, i even initially had problems entering her until i grabbed some lubricant.

I recently spent a week in Puerta Plata at the Ramada Hacienda with some married friends of mine. I was amazed how forward the local girls are. I had 3 of them my first night there. Late that first night we went to Crystals. I was not thoroughly impressed with the talent. They were all ok, but only a few were top shelf.
I ended up talking to a girl there who spoke excellent english. I did nothing with her at the bar, but after a half hour of talking I asked if I could take her out to dinner the following night. She agreed and gave me her number.
She told me she had a "boyfriend in the states" but still agreed to go out anyway.
She arrived to my hotel the next evening and we went out to dinner, and then to the local "disco" bar, The Hurricane club. Around 2 am I paid $35 to the front desk for a bracelet so she could come to my room.
She stayed for the rest of my vacation.
She kept the bracelet on and we acted as normal guests of the hotel. We had sex AT LEAST 10 times a day. I could barely keep up!
She never asked for money, and I gave her none. It also turns out her boyfriend was a 38 year old, bald, fat guy (no offense) that was sending her a weekly paycheck. Nice. He was trying to get her to marry him and move to the states. I told her that I am just a plumber from Detroit, and not some rich sugar daddy. She took a bit of offense to that. She then dumped him on the phone a few days into my vacation.
On the last night she even picked up a cute blonde american tourist girl and brought her back to the room for a little 3-way action. Amazing. I have never had a woman take care of me like this. I'm glad your first time was a blast. I had a similar experience (photo below), she was great, she was introduced to me by a guy I knew there, (wife's younger sister, usually they always act like there all family, but I could see they looked alike). All he kept saying to me was she's special & he was right. Never asked for money, had my head spinning, I decided to look up information to just travel with her. I thought of to see if it was really not about the money and take her to a place like Jamacia or Aruba, then we would be on neutral ground. I know to come to the U.S. its very complicated & expensive.
(Do you know if you paid all the money & waited the many years for her to get here, you would have to sign a form that says you would ASSUME financial responsibility for her for 10 years?)
If you go to DR1 newspaper, you can read the message boards there, that board is more informative for telling people where to live, eat, and give help to people who are planning on living & working in DR, not really about the women. I will tell you this, after reading the messages boards on DR1, the majority of time, the relationships didn't last & most ended badly.
Mine didn't end badly, I just lost touch with her, I have been searching, but no luck.

I am looking to go to DR, Sosua area for Scuba Diving. I am looking for a good hotel (real good), not some cheap shack! Any advice on good hotels that are chica friendly, not too far from the action. I am willing to pay for a high-end place.
I read something about a Ramada in POP. I can stay at POP and go to Sosua on a daily basis to dive if needed.
Anyone know of a good Dive Center there, with motorized, half-way decent diveboats? I am looking at Northern Coast Aquasportsin Sosua as my first choice.

As this is my first report please be gentle with me. I made my way down to the D.R. on the last minute kind of deal. All my buddies bailed on me and as I was running out of time decided to trip solo. When the all-inclusives got finished screwing me on the single supplement I thought another missed opportunity. Well on sunholidays.ca I picked up a ticket to P.O.P. for $131C+$210C taxes= $341C (Feb 16) to leave Feb19. Now I needed a place to stay and was going to wait until I got down there but thought it might be a bad idea approaching spring break and all. Came across Black Beards on the net and checked it out for a while. Other places were more expensive and the more I thought about it I decided it might be a good homebase to start from (security, lockboxes etc.). There were also cheaper places but I wanted security for my passport. I e-mailed my intentions to their site that evening(Feb 16) and started dreaming. Woke up in the morning and had a reply from David (manager). He said he had 1 available, deluxe single for $45US/night. I fired off an e-mail back saying I would take it and waited. Ended up calling a couple hours later and David answered. It sealed the deal when I found out he was originally from my home province. Asked the usual questions and confirmed for above period. David said a driver Jorge (sorry if spelling wrong) would meet me (2110). Arrived 40 minutes early(2030) and with no checked bags I flew through the airport and thought I would enjoy the warm temperatures outside. Jorge was waiting with sign in hand and away we went. It was maybe a 25 minute drive ( not sure because I just got in and was soaking up the scenery to the resort. Upon arrival there were lots of people milling about, playing pool etc. and I was deposited at the front desk. David came and introduced himself and we took care of the preliminaries. After depositing my bags and meeting a couple of other guest David bought be a presidente grande. While enjoying the drink and being inquisitive I was told what the playing field was and who was fair game and who was off base. ( don't know if he does this to everyone or just because I look like a perv but I wouldn't of wanted it any other way. The eyecandy was there and after pounding back numerous presedente grandes and against my better judgement I went for a massage with a lovely lady. The only downside of the whole week was a missunderstanding which was as much my fault as anyones Now that I wasted all your time with drivel lets say the ladys are superb. I somehow ended up with the same sweet chica for 3 or 4 days. I don't know if it was unusual but all the guests were cool and it was easy to hang out there and play pool or play with the girls or drink and eat or swim etc. The beer is great the weather sucked the first 3 days. I'm not a kereoke kinda guy but Fri. is kereoke night and it is an experience not to be missed, with the crazy neighbour coming over trying to rip the speaker out of the wall hahaha Don't remember much but had company in the morning (word of advice these girls love tequila). Between the excellent accommadations, alcohol and women I was in heaven. The food is very good and they have something for everyone at very cheap prices (as the peso is so low). Costamber is what I would call a small ocean side village and if you want alternative food it is a short walk down the beach or a 10 min walk towards town for quality French or Italian (and I mean exceptional food at very reasonable prices) Saturday Jorge and a group of 6 of us went into Peurto Playta (20 min) to the clubs. We left Black Beards at about midnight and the 2 disco's? we went to were very busy with lots of lookers. Sunday was a quiet day and met a couple more guests and enjoyed talking to them. On Tues a couple I had met earlier (yes couples do go here) invited me to a party with another person (actually it was an open party but with all the dart people having so much fun it was just us and 3 chicas). Their room was better then mine but mine was more then adequate. They had a bar and we all proceeded to kick back. Well there were strip shows going on and tequlia being shot so we were all quite happy when midnite rolls around for our excursion to Crystals. All of us ( the couple, 3 chicas and 3 of us). One of the guests wanted a ride to Mountainview to hookup with his girlfriend. Well apparently nobody arranged a price for what we were doing and by the time we got to Mountainview we paid him 500 peso and bailed (maybe thats what 4 drunk Canadians do to the price). He wanted 1000 more to make a quick stop and then to Crystals. We had drinks for an hour or so at Mountainview and proceeded to Crystals for 100 pesos more with an additional lovely lady. Living near the holy grail of strip clubs (Toronto) I wasn't overly impressed but was not disapointed either. There were some very hot girls but we had as hot of ones that when the strippers weren't on stage, our company and one of the female hotel guest went on stage and kept everyone entertained. When 4am rolls around it closes. The drinks in this place are expensive but what the hell were on vacation Back to the hotel for 200 pesos more and the chicas are even picking up the tab. Spent the night again with my lovely friend and had made arrangements for another outing this time to Sousa Beach. The couple and a fellow Canadian and my chica and me were to leave at 0800 but it was more like 0845. One of the chicas that partied with us the previous night was going to tag along which was fine (keep mine company). She wanted to put posters up in town for the swimsuit contest on Saturday. We settled in at one of the numbered beach restaurants (sorry I didn't get the number didn't realize the importance) and had beer and a good breakfast. Spent the day between the lounge chairs on the beach being hand fed shrimp and the restaurant. Took a walk down the souvenir boardwalk and was asked to enter every store. Had lunch at the same place as breakfast and it was very good. Hung out enjoying the sun, sand and pretty women. But alas all good things must come to an end. We headed back to Costamber around 1500 and got there maybe 45 minutes later. The plane was leaving so had arranged a ride with Jorge for 1930. A little behind schedule and saying my goodbyes, there were 2 of us on the same flight we left. Other the the immigration agent asking me for $10US (his co-worker scolded him) and I basically only had the $20US departure tax and a little change anyways. In a nutshell I took $500US cash to basically pay for the room and pocket money and as I ran out I went to a bank (motoconcho) and used my debit card. ( I got an excellent exchange rate doing it that way) I'm sitting here feeling guilty with the peso being so low I might be the only guy wanting to send money down to my chica. The people at Black Beards were fantastic, the guests are people I now call friends ( I've got e-mail address from S.F., Fla., Lon., Ed). Had fun teasing the staff and my chica treated me like a king (she spoke no english and me no spanish). I'd post pics but they aren't developed yet and thought I'd better post a review. Hope I didn't ramble too much and if I broke any rules please advise. I am thinking that after the march break I am going to do a 3 or 4 day jaunt down provided I can get a good rate for air ( they owe me 3 sunny days)

I have read all the posts and the archives thereto, it seems like the perfect fit for me, chica friendly, but not too wild. I will be in Puerto Plata from April 1-6 also. I just bought tickets on the AA netsaver for $400 including taxes. I will probably be going back and forth between Sosua and PP. I found a really good club, ocated in Montellano, which is between POP and PP on the south side beside the cane fields. Broke ass town, 200 pesos to get into the club, but the quality of women are unbelieveable. The putas dont go there, although, all the women are so easy. I got a table by the womens restroom, and let me tell you....it was easy pickings. I have been to DR 4 times since Jan 10, 04.
This will be my 5th trip. I guess I have an addictive personality. Either way, I'm 35, going through my second divorce, a New Yorker, and totally loving it there. I feel like God there. The women in New York are so damn cold and into their nails, clothes, hair. The women in DR are into 1 thing. Fucking. Whether they get paid for it or not. I have a chica there, which is pretty nice. Doesn't mean that Im dead though. I guess either way I'm gonna pay for it one way or the other.

this is my first report on the wsgfourm. i am going to report about my week in the dominican republic at the adult resort blackbeards in a gated community costambar just outside puerto plata. i took a charter flight from detroit. it was about a 4 hour flight direct to pop airport. i landed at 9:30 pm on friday night and blackbeards had a driver holding a sign that read “blackbeards” just outside the terminal. he drove me directly to blackbeards. it was about a 30 minute drive.
i checked into my room, very nice, satellite tv( cnn, abc, nbc, cbs, a nyc local station and a porn channel, also dominican stations in spanish) air conditioning, ceiling fan, king size bed, windows with nice views, bath with plenty of hot water. i unpacked a few things and went to the bar. even though the kitchen was closed it was about 10:30 pm the staff prepared a meal for me, and the first presidente beer was on the house.
it was fairly quite, there was one american expatriate having a drink at the bar, and there were three very pretty young girls setting at the bar. i took a seat at the end of the bar. i eat my meal, visited with the american who was very friendly, and tried to give me some good advice about the dr. i tried to communicate with the girls, one of the girls spoke a little english, but the english speaking girls was not as pretty as rosetta, age 19, with light skin tones and big brown eyes. i had come prepared with small gifts, purchased at the dollar store. i had boxed up, and put a bow on a set of ear rings. when i gave them too rosetta, she light up, with a smile as wide as the grand canyon.
i exchanged some money at blackbeards. it was late so i had no other options. i only got an exchange rate of 44 pesos to a dollar; there are better options where you can get higher rates, 48 at the time. the dr peso is very volatile. rosetta wanted 3000 pesos for the night $68.00us. i probably could have talked her down, but i saw no reason to do this. i am a 45 year old, bald, overweight; american that speaks no spanish, with an upper middle class profession and income. under $70.00 us to be with a very thin beautiful girl all night is wonderful. rosetta treated me like a king. we had one round of fun that night and woke up in the morning for a second round of fun. this became my pattern during my vacation. the going rate at blackbeards is 3000 pesos for all night or 1500 pesos for a short time.
i intended to keep a journal of my vacation. but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. much of my holiday is a blur, as my week went by so quickly. i had planned my trip for three months, reading this forum and other sites. i had two main plans going into my vacation. first, i was hoping that i could find a pretty young girl that could speak english and spend my entire week with her. that did not happen. i had a different girl each night except once. i did have a repeat with a very tall darker complicated girl that could suck a golf ball through 10 foot of garden hose.
my second plan was not to drink too much, or stay out too late, why fly 3000 miles to get drunk, i could do that at home. i was not following my plan, if i didn’t have a naked young girl in my bed by midnight. for the most part i followed this second plan.
much of the fun at blackbeards was that i met up with other guys about my age (40’s), mostly from canada and the united states. there are more europeans in sosua. these were a good group of guys, a retired cop from ny, a bar owner from arizona, another professional guy from indiana, an executive in the transportation business from quebec. we were all traveling alone, so it was nice to hook-up with other people. i coordinated a deep sea fishing trip with three other guys. david the manager at blackbeards arranged the half day fishing trip for only $45.00 us each. that included transportation to and from the 45 foot boat and cold beer and snacks during the trip. the only problem was we caught no fish. no one on the boat caught any fish.
i hooked up with 5 other guys one night and went to puerto plata on a pussy hunt in a van with a driver. we went to crystals, and two or three other places that can’t remember the names. it was a good time. i took a girl with me from blackbeards. this was a good move on my part, because the girls wanted much more at crystals $120.00 us. there were some very nice looking girls their, however you also are required to pay a bar fine from 500 to 1000 pesos on top of what you pay the girl. i did need to see some of the night life outside of blackbeards.
i had wonderful weather for my trip. it was sunny and in the mid 80’s every day. i was planning a trip to the casino on a rainy day. however i had no rainy days so near the end of my trip, i hooked up with the girl i met on the first night that spoke a little english and two of her friends and made a trip to the casino and disco. i had a good time. taking three girls to this all-inclusive resort was a little dangerous on the budget. but i didn’t make out to bad. the casino was running a promotion if you give them 1000 pesos they will give you 1100 in chips. i gave the girl that i hooked up with 500 pesos and i took 600 pesos to the blackjack table and proceeded to double my money. then i went to the craps table and played some craps. they only had single odds to the craps was not a good deal. i broke about even at the craps table. if you gamble with pesos the minimum table but was 50 pesos or $1.00. you could also gamble with dollars, however then your minimum bet was $5.00. so you can play the games at the casino for very low stakes with pesos. the girl i was with played poker and of course lost the 500 pesos that i gave her and probably any money that she had as well. no matter, i was still even. i cashed in my chips and got 1050 pesos and we all went to the disco. i bought one round of drinks for the four of us about $16.00. drinks were free while we were gambling. i had a great time dancing with three young pretty girls. this was the only night that i did not follow the naked girl in bed by midnight. we didn’t get in until a little after 1:00 o’clock. but i had a lot of fun.
i hooked up with another guy from florida that was on his fourth trip this year to blackbeards, and we split the cost for a driver and car. we hired thomas who had lived in nyc for 17 years and spoke perfect english and spanish. it cost us $30.00 each for the day. we went to sosua beach and then visited the sosua palace that i have read so much about from ******* and others on this site. i had the best food of my trip at a restaurant right on the beach. the waiter brought a dish with a selection of fresh fish. i choose a large red snapper. it was great and with all the fixings and two large presidente beers it only cost 400 pesos ($8.00). we walked along the beach and the boardwalk with all the junk shops. my friend bought a polo shirt. then we went to the palace. john the owner was there. he is an american from boston. he is very nice. he gave us a complete tour of the palace. the rooms are very nice. it was late afternoon around 4:00 – 5:00 o’clock when we toured the palace. there were only five girls there. there were also several american guys there. we talked to john he told us we could have our pick of the girls and he would throw in the use of a room for 1500 pesos. i fair deal and one of the girls there was very hot. however, i didn’t know spanish and i must not have been aggressive enough to let her know that i was interested. she split and so did we. i am sure that i could have a good time if i had chosen to stay at the palace. there were other american guys just like at blackbeards to hook-up with. sosua also has many bars and girls to hook-up with.
blackbeards in my opinion offers more convenience. i real nice beach is only about 300 yards from blackbeards. i also had a couple of fish lunches at the beach in costambar. there was a german women working at one of the restaurants who was fun to talk to. costambar has many canadian and american expatriates as well as vacationers. . blackbeards has a nice pool, two bars (the upstairs bar is used for a weekly dart tournament), very large jacuzzi (i took a girl and tried it. the only problem the water was not hot) and full service restaurant. there is a lot of room to spread out, many tables and lounge chairs around the pool. there is always a large pot of free coffee available.
but the best part of blackbeards is the people. david the manager was the person that answered all of my e-mails before i arrived. he answered a lot of stupid questions. david was great when i arrived. he made sure that i had a good time. john the owner was in florida when i arrived and i only met him when he returned on the wednesday night before i had to leave on friday. both david and john seem very nice. they have only been open a little more than one year, they bent over backwards to see that everyone had a good time. to give you an example, i had to check out of my room at 1:00 o’clock on friday as they had new arrivals. my flight did not leave until 11:00 pm. so john lent me his room for one more short time with a very pretty girl. one more pop for the road. in my opinion this is way above and beyond good customer service. i also met karen on blackbeards staff, a very funny girl from massachusetts. karen is about my age or just a little younger late 30’s early 40’s, she works in the kitchen. i told her that she was the “cook at the cathouse”. i told her the next time that i come i would bring her a t-shirt the said cook at the cathouse. i wish that i would have got with karen after her shift, and bought her dinner and drinks, because she spoke fluent spanish and had lived in puerto plata for several years and could have showed me the more good spots. maybe next time and there will be a next time.
i had such a good time. i am already planning a return visit to blackbeards and the dominican republic, perhaps over the christmas, new year holidays. the best part of blackbeards is that there are 15 to 20 girls that are in and out of the place. all are very young (18 – 28) and pretty. blackbeards, unlike the bars or other brothels on the island, do not make any money from the girls. they do screen the girls. david told me that they get much information about them. address, parents address, other relatives. so if there ever are any problems (theft) they can find the girl. they make sure that the girls are 18 years old or older. this is important to me as it is against us law to travel to a foreign country for the purpose of having sex with **** children, as well as dominican law. why travel 3000 miles to where prostitution is legal, and then break the law? even if the chances of getting caught might be minimal. besides it just isn’t right.
blackbeards charges a very fair rate for their rooms, meals, and drinks. rooms were $45.00, meals were 150 – 300 pesos ($3 to $6) large bottle of beer 70 pesos ($1.50). i ran a tab. i eat all my breakfasts and many lunches and dinners. i bought my girlfriends breakfasts, and some dinners. i am not as heavy of a drinker as some, but it was hot, and i got thirsty. my total bill was $535.00. that also included transportation to and from the airport. my flight cost $570.00. all other expenses, the girls, meals and drinks outside of blackbeards, fishing trip, casino trip, everything i did, cost between $600- $700. so my entire one week vacation cost about $1,800.00.

You seem to have the same attitude that I do when I go on vacation - the important thing is to enjoy yourself and have fun! This is what we work for, this is what we vacation for. The idea is not to see how little money we can spend or how little we can get over on the girls for. (Even though I'm in my 30's, speak good Spanish and have a full head of hair ;))
The money you spend in the "DR" never adds up to much in the long run anyway!

I certainly second Ford's endorsement of Love Seeker's post. It gave a feel for the place, details, and told a story. Great stuff.
I've been to the DR about six times, usually to Sosua. The last trip was in November 02. In Sosua, I always stayed at the Piergiorgio Palace Hotel, a beautiful Victorian hotel perched on a cliff, at the end of the village. The views are great. Problem is that it is usually empty any time I've been there. Its kind of weird escorting the girls through this beautiful, empty hotel.
I hadn't heard of Blackbeards before this post, but it sounds terrific. I also love the idea that there are other mongers there to hook up with and do stuff. This, BTW, is one of the great attractions of Buenos Aires, where the monger parties and general socializing is tremendous fun.
Last time in Sosua, I went by the famous Palace championed by ******* (who I've met in NYC and a nice guy) and others. Nobody knew where the place was and it took a while to locate. Honestly, the place was awful. The hotel was under construction. The 'swimming pool' was really about the size of a large jacuzzi and the water looked stagnant. The rooms were warren-like and dark. And the girls? A few, very pro-like girls were hanging around, but I wasn't about to avail of them. The only thing going for it was the fact that it was monger central. Maybe things are different now.
While I always enjoyed the DR, my last trip put me off a little as the scene seemed overly Haitian and more hard edged. But this post has gotten my juices flowing again.
I just checked out Blackbeard's website and it looks great. The DR is great for us NY mongers in that we can get to POP in a few hours. Gotta figure a way to get there soon.

I will give my full report on my first trip to the DR a bit later in the Sosua section, but my night in Puerta Plata was that of legend.
On Friday night around 11pm, myself and two friends went to El Boem to treat ourselves to the experience, I'm glad we went. We took a taxi van from the Palace in Sosua ($30 US for the whole night, he waited outside the club for us and would take us wherever we wanted, $10 US each, cant beat that). Once inside, there were more than enough sexy girls to go around. Immediately my boy, lets called him Estabon, hooks up with this fine dark skinned chica and seems to be completely content with her as she is all over him, bouncing on his lap, etc. My other friend didnt waste too much time either, Ray grabbed a chica and the guys were set. I, Marco, on the other hand was in no rush... I was lookin for something special. After a few minutes, this beautiful Dominican queen caught my eye but she was sitting on another guys lap. Not a problem, I started smiling at her and on my way to the bathroom, I told her in Spanish that I wanted her now. On my way back from the bathroom, she told me to give her a few minutes.
About 5 minutes later she came over and sat with me. Well worth the wait! Jessica was one of the sexiest women I had seen in the DR, she was wild and her ass (in those amazing white pants) would stop traffic in any city in the world!!! Words cannot describe that ass, I'd give her a solid 9 of 10 anyday. We enjoyed several drinks, the more Jessica had, the crazier she got which for me was perfect! I'm a young 30 year old guy who still spends some nights in New York's hottest nightclubs after hours, so Jessica was everything I wanted and more. As an added bonus, she also spoke English pretty well (and Italian too).
My friend Ray was quickly becoming unhappy with his cute but boring chica. He mentioned it to me and I told Jessica, who asked if I'd mind if she told the girl that she is no longer needed. She said a few words to Ray's girl and off she went. Jessica quickly helped Ray find a replacement that appeared to be exactly what he was looking for.
Soon enough we handled the financials, I think it was 3500 pesos ($72 US at the rate of 48:1 that I got). Some of you may think thats a lot and by DR standards, sure is but there was no way in hell I was letting Jessica go anywhere because I knew she was wild and she'd be a treat!!! And guys come on, $72 may be a lot of money to those girls but try and find a similar match here in the states for less than $300. Anyways, I'm not here to justify my actions, just the facts. The girls went to change and off we went in the taxi.
After dropping off Estabon and his girl at the Europa, Ray and I made our way to the Palace with our girls. After some more drinks, Jessica and I went off to the bedroom where she more than lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Sorry guys NO PHOTOS, the battery on Ray's camera died and I was thinking about that ass, spanking it, not taking photos of it. After several go rounds with Jessica who was a 10+ in the bedroom, wild as I could ever have hoped for, Ray knocks at my door and needs to get into the lock box. Hi guys, I was in Sosua at the end of February and I had a blast. I went solo and it was my first time in the D.R. As you must have read in my first post I mentioned that I stayed at the Europa and I mentioned the places that I found chicas and the prices I paid.
I am planning a family trip to Puerto Plata in the last part of June. I am planning to stay in an all-inclusive resort with the family. While I am there I would like to venture out of the All-Inclusive and sample some of the puerto platian chicas. Could some of you guys give me some tips about getting out of the resort and finding some of the hot spots. I would really appreciate any and all of the tips.

My take on Blackbeards and comments on "The Palace".
In a recent trip to the DR I was staying in the area at the Palace and decided I needed to check out other venues, in case at a future time it was booked I needed a second location. I booked a room for one night over the net and went to check the digs out.
Yes I think it is better there, the rooms are nicer, the facilities are nicer, the staff is great. It ends there. When I made a visit two days prior to checking in, I selected, with the help of the staff, two girls to see in the afternoon. I arrived early around noon and checked in, verified that every thing was in line for my afternoon activities and showered. I waited and waited and waited. Knowing there is real time and DR time I allowed an hour to pass before seeking management. Now this is a girl they told me was realiable and provided good service. They tried calling her or one of her friends. Another two hours go by. Still no chica. Now if I was in charge I would apologize to the guest and arrange someone else. After all she came from their book not mine. Instead they told me to be patient. I waited another two hours before she showed up. SHE IS NOW FIVE HOURS LATE! She was a nice girl but not worth waiting for. I decided to bail figuring that my late afternoon appointment who was not there yet would not show until midnight. As luck would have I bumped into another guy who was coming in to do a ST with his girl. He had a driver. I said here are they keys to my room which has two beds and I borrowed his driver to run me back to the Palace.
Now the Palace is not as nice but I like the location, the quiet street, its location to all the activities, and John and Gordo.
I would stay their hands down. I like the ambience of the place.
Just my opinion.
One last thing. For a overnighters I pull my girls from Boheme (sp) and have been happy most of the time. The girls from Cystals have almost always been a disappointment. Got one girl from the hole in the wall place in PP (can't remember her name.)
If you doubt what I have said, just keep in mind, the swing at the Palace. I bought it, brought it and installed it.
For those of you that have used it you may thank me now.

Exactly due to the same attitude of our many compatriots another paradise - Costa Rica was spoiled and lost very fast. DR is the last thing left in the reasonable proximity to our country and doing what you are doing is the best way to lose the last place in the world where we can be and feel wanted and respected. IMHO. From the very bad experience of other places and other people.

You seem to have the same attitude that I do when I go on vacation - the important thing is to enjoy yourself and have fun! This is what we work for, this is what we vacation for. The idea is not to see how little money we can spend or how little we can get over on the girls for. (Even though I'm in my 30's, speak good Spanish and have a full head of hair )

Where did I ever say that I think you should spend $200 on a chica? The guy said he's 45, on his first trip to the "DR" , speaks no spanish and wasn't in the mood to haggle - so he went for 68 bucks. He then said he had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed himself! I say good for him! I do agree however, that this is quite high for experienced travelers.

I agree with Ford; Mirco, as a soon-to-be-first-timer, I figure it's worth my peace of mind not to haggle the first time. That doesn't mean I will go above 3,000 for an all-nighter, I will NOT. I know enough spanish to say, no, gracias. Then there will be another chica anyway. But for us first-timers, if I can speak for us, we may pay a *bit* more at first, then we will learn the ropes. What *is* important is that no one goes down there and offers more than 3,000 for all night (or the corresponding amount for 2-3 hours). We have to have some solidarity or, as has been said, the place will be ruined. So, to all my fellow newbies, even if you are bald and fat (I'm no prize. trust me!), don't even think about exceeding the 3,000 limit. Once that genie's out of the bottle it goes to 3,500, then to 4,000 (yikes!), then the whole thing is busted and we might as well stay at home. Better to have underpaid/paid the right price and to lose it until the next night, then to screw it up for everyone. Let's face it, this is the last place with great proximity to the U.S. that regular guys can afford. Let's show some monger solidarity. I understand (believe me!) the eagerness to please the chicas, but a little restraint will serve us all really well for years to come. So to speak. I don't mean to be on the soap box, especially since I am a newbie, but the economics are inescapable.

I want to thank Ford and Dashing Dan and several others that PM’ed me. I am glad that you enjoyed my report. I enjoyed writing the report, looking at my photo’s, and reliving my trip. I bedded seven girls all under 25 years of age in my week in the DR. What a great vacation I had.
Let me explain a little economics to Mirco. In a free market it is both supply and demand that sets the price. As long as the Dominican people are getting poorer and poorer the supply of girls that are forced into the market, because of their awful poverty, will increase, and the prices will stay low.
President Hipolito Mejia is one of the most corrupt leaders in the world. . The US, IMF and World bank have loaned or granted monies to improve the roads, build schools, ext. Somehow this money winds up in Swiss bank accounts controlled by Mejia and his cronies. Opposition leaders are jailed and intimidated. The “free press” can not get ink to print their papers. Ink is controlled by the government. He was suppose to be term limited this year, however he has bribed and/or coerced the DR legislature to change the law so he could run again. He only has 15 to 20 percent support in the country, he can not keep the lights on, there have been several nation wide strikes. However, in May I am sure Mejia will be “reelected” in a stolen election Anyone who remembers the Woody Alan move Bananas knows how the third world changes leaders. Costa Rica after decades of the some kind of leadership has actually had a bit better governance. This has more to do with the market for pussy than the demand side.
America in the mean time is getting wealthier. We are 4% of the world’s population (285 million people) yet produce 25% of the worlds GDP. I spent under $2000 for my week’s vacation. I had a great week, sunshine, good food, drink, and yes young and beautiful girls. $2000 is approximately what I earn in an average week before taxes. Mirco, if you are a shop rat earning $8 to $10 dollars an hour, and the prices in the DR are getting to high for you, I might suggest you go next door to Haiti where they have even a more fucked up government than the Dominican Republic.
Snowbird, why the hostility toward Blackbirds? It sounds to me that they tried their best to get you the girl that you wanted. They finally did, and then you blew her off. I enjoyed my stay at Blackbirds very much. As my grandmother would say, it only cost 10 percent more to go first class. I also liked the palace, and believe that I could have enjoyed myself their as well. I believe that choice is good. That there is room for both Blackbeards and the Palace, and I hope they both do well.

Ten Top Reasons to Vacation in the Dominican Republic
1. Girls, Girls, Girls! Tons and Tons of Very Pretty Girls are available, Girls to meet almost anyone’s taste and preferences. All shapes, sizes, ages, and skin tones are available.
2. Flight is short from the East Coast or Midwest. I flew in from Detroit, it took about four hours.
3. Weather is great. I spent the second week in March in the DR. I had weather in the mid 80’s with sunshine everyday.
4. Economical – The US dollar is at a very favorable exchange rate. Making a vacation in the DR very affordable. Hotel rates at Blackbeards or the Palace are about $45.00 US per night. (You will pay double that at a Holiday Inn in Kokomo Indiana) Meals $3.00 to $8.00 US. I am accused of overpaying and spoiling the girls and by almost any standard it is very cheap. For a Short Time I paid $30.00 US and $60.00 US for all night.
5. Prostitution is Legal. Unlike engaging in this activity in the United States there is no change of being arrested with your name in the paper. Being arrested in my case would be a real nightmare.
6. Gambling is Legal - Casinos with very low table stakes. A $1.00 per hand blackjack, Craps, Poker.
7. Good Beaches – At Costambar and Sosua have nice beaches.
8. Beer, Rum and Cigars- Presidente beer, Brugal Anejo Rum ($2.00 a bottle), I don’t smoke cigars but many of the guys I met at Blackbeards enjoyed them.
9. Good Food – Fish and chicken dishes are very good. The steak actually is not as good. Beef in the DR does not meet the USDA standards. Go to Kansas City for the best steaks, go to the DR for the best fish.
10. The Good People – The management and staff at blackbeards and/or the Palace are their to make sure you have a good time. Other guys that are also traveling alone are there to help each other have a good time.

1. Don't get emotionally involved. Don't go meet the family.
2. Never give a Dominican a second chance. First time is their fault, second time is your fault, and guaranteed there will be a second time.
3. Don't tell me about your problems. Everyone's got problems. Your problems are your problems, not mine.
4. Don't give out your phone number.
5. Tell them only what they need to know. The more they know about you the more they have to use against you. Keep it on a "first name" basis. (This rule will also serve you well with everyone you deal with down here)
6. If they somehow get your number and call you, hang up when the subject of money comes up.
7. Never bring them home with you. Down here you're KING -- you have the power. You lose all your leverage as soon as they pass through customs.
8. If they don't please you, dump'em fast. Don't be afraid to say "Get the FUCK outta here". Give them taxi fare and throw them out physically if you have to.
9. Make no promises.
10. Lay your cards out from the go. Just like with a taxi, let them know upfront what they can expect, how much you're willing to pay. Make sure you bargain a little or they'll think you're easy and you'll get no respect. If they treat you right give them a "propina" or "regalo"

I stand corrected. I am arriving very soon (tomorrow) en la isla de los culos, and have, as usual, left everything to the last minute, but I work well under pressure. I 'm all set, thanks to you all. Unless or until I am staying at a place such as blackbeards, which I intend to visit for a day, I won't pay more than the going rate, which should not be more than 1500-2000 (all night) for a 10 maybe. Mea Culpa for suggesting 3,000. Too expensive! Seriously. I may be vain, but I am either getting it for free or for less than the aforementioned 3K price, or I will be beating off. I guess it's ok if one does not know any Spanish and wants to whisk in and whisk out, leaving behind a trail of dolares and wig trailings. It's nice, I'm sure. But I don't make that kinda scratch. Blackbeards vs The Palace
Blackbeards has a full service restaurant --the Palace does not. The food at Blackbeards is good and reasonable priced, 150 – 300 pesos for meals.
Blackbeards has a nice Pool and Jacuzzi—the Palace has a Jacuzzi
The Jacuzzi at Blackbeards is fenced off for privacy.
The Costambar Beach is very close and within easy walking distance--- The Palace is not within walking distance from the beach. The Sosua beach is very nice, nicer than Costambar’s Beach though.
Blackbeards has much more room to spread out. Many tables and chairs at the restaurant and around the poor. The Palace has a much smaller common area.
My impression from a very short visit at the Palace and a week’s stay at Blackbeards is that the mongers at Blackbeards are a little older mid-40’s and more affluent. The mongers at the Palace are a little younger, mostly in there 30’s and less affluent. (This is an impression and I could be all wet)
The management and staff at both Blackbeards and the Palace are helpful and want to see to it that you have a good time. I enjoyed my time at Blackbeards and I am planning a return visit and plan to again stay at Blackbeards. But if Blackbeards was full I would have no problem staying at the Palace.

Definately on my list of must visit destinations in the future. Right now I am reading Mi Moto Fidel which was written over 7000 miles in Cuba. I know 3 girls from Cuba, you'll find one in magazines everywhere, the other two you'll find at Breathless in New Jersey. Just wondering how many chicas are hanging around Blackbeards? Does the Palace have more working chicas? Is Blackbeards a good spot to monger? I was leaning toward the Sousa Palace earlier but, I like to go away and swim in the pool and enjoy the beach. Which Blackbeards seem to have. Compare to the Palace where I heard its pretty run down and the pool is the size of a large bath tub. But, of course chicas are first priority so, just wanted to know which one has more chicks and if there were a good amount of 7+ chicas around in Blackbeards.

OK I’ve just about read all the post for Puerto Plata and I’m seriously thinking about going down to Blackbeards sometime in late Sept or early Oct this year. I read somewhere that you could bring down your own cell phone and get it activated there to use. Has anyone done this? How is it done and how much does it cost? If this isn’t the case can you rent a cell phone there instead? I think I’d prefer renting a phone while down there. Do the chicas provide their own protection (condoms) or do I need to bring my own? I’ve read it is a good idea to bring small gifts for the chicas. What would be some suggestions other than money? I’m sure I’ll have more questions before I go down there.

Blackbeards has great access to both pool & beach. Chicas are available, just make your requests known to the management and they will help.
However, there are not usually alot of Chicas hanging around just waiting, its more by appointment type of thing.
You can get anything you want, just ask.

I wouldnt exactly call the Palace run down. Granted, its not the Four Seasons Hotel but I dont think you'll find a bar full of working girls at the Four Seasons either. The Palace is what it is, more like Motel 6 in comparison but its clean. In March of this year, I stayed there for 3 nights and I had no complaints whatsoever. John was very accomodating, the very reason I'm staying at the Palace again in May. The pool is not olympic size, but its def good for a swim. Chances are you'll probably find a few of the girls going topless in the pool from time to time. In addition, where else can you have cold beers delivered right to your refridgerator at a minimal cost? The Palace is within walking distance of just about anywhere you'd want to be in Sosua.
Sosua Beach is a 10-15 minute walk from the Palace, about 2 minutes by motoconch for 20 pesos (motorcycle taxi for .50¢ US). I found the beach to be a pleasant experience, especially if you're into the culture at all. A number of people have posted about annoying vendors trying to sell their worth, but I didnt have any problems (then again I'm about 6'4 and could line up across from Warren Sapp). Ya just cant complain when you find some beautiful girls going topless! Anyway I found the beach to be clean, I could see my feet with no problem in the clear blue water. Look for a local named Lobo, just past the Lost Gringo Bar... he'll rent you a beach chair, umbrella and table at a reasonable price. Need a drink, he'll grab you a drink too. If necessary, he will also watch your stuff when you go in the water.
If you are looking for the five-star hotel set-up, you're going to have to stay at a resort. However, do NOT plan on bringing girls back to your room. I'd recommend the Palace and the Sosua experience to anyone interested in the Dominican experience. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS, I drilled 6 girls in a 24-hour period... 3 Palace girls and 3 girls I picked up at the High Caribe Disco! I have never been to Blackbeards, but I'm told its well off the beaten path and the service is very slow. Then again, most service in the Dominican is rather slow. Good luck to you and be safe, wherever you may roam!!! John's knowledge of the Dominican was invaluable to me, but hey thats just me.

A view of the Palace Penthouse, top floor with its own private hot tub. John is that fucker hot yet? We're going to need it in May, Ray and I have some plans for a daytime gig upstairs. We need a couple of girls willing to do each other.
If this is a bath tub, I want one in my house!
I also stayed at the Palace and found it more than adequate for everything I needed, as other's have said it's not a 4 or 5 star hotel.
A lot of guys come to the DR expecting the ritz carlton for 40 to 50 a night. The problem is they forget they are in a 3rd world country, Problems with the electric coming and going, Cable sometimes coming and going. Ive stayed at the Europa and when the generator is going there isnt enough power to run the ac. These are the inconviences that go on in the 3rd world. Thats the trade off for cheap pussy. So are the Europa,Blackbeards and the Palace perfect? Of course not. Are they good hotels for us mongers? Absolutly. The bottom line is if you want the best of both worlds get a room in an all inclusive and one at a monger hotel if you can afford it.
After RTFF I see that most of the action is around the Palace.
So my question is this: If I have to stay at a resort, what is my best bet for 1) proximity to the Mongering and nightlife and 2)possibility of briging a chica back to my hotel.
Please advise,

After RTFF I see that most of the action is around the Palace.
So my question is this: If I have to stay at a resort, what is my best bet for 1) proximity to the Mongering and nightlife 10 -15 minutes away. and 2)possibility of briging a chica back to my hotel. It will cost about $20-$35

It seems to me that one of the greatest difference between the Palace and Blackbeards is location. When you stay at the Palace, you are 5 minutes away on foot from bars and nightclubs, meaning from a choice of hundreds and hundreds of girls.
As far as I know, Blackbeards is more remote from nightlife action.

This will be my first time in the DR and because of where I am travelling from,( KC, Missouri) The best rate I can get is through a flight/hotel resort package deal. So I just wanted to make sure that the one I picked was in reasonable proximity to High Caribe and any other hot spots. I've been to RIO, PR, and various parts of Mexico, and generally can find my way to the "action" . In this case I didn't want to take my self out of the game by being stranded on some resort that was too far out.

I have a place in DR now, so I only need a flight. The best package deals I found were through Travelocity. They have *last minute deals*. You really cant beat their deals. Both times, I ended up in Caberete. Only a 15 min ride to Sosua.

Mind you that Casa Marina is a NON guest friendly hotel. It's actually a familytype big resort and I think your chances to smuggle a chica in are close to nada, even if you would throw $$ at the guard/receptionist.
Better get yourself an extra cheap and clean room from one of the independant providers. There are tons to choose from in the 15-20$us range.

Just returned after 5 days. Change your dollars before going to the hotel as they take a 7 point margin on the dollar. I exchanged for 47. and the hotel offered 40.
Blackbeards known locally as Barba Negra is a great place to be if your looking for a "all inclusive" place to monger.
There are probably 6 to 10 chicas at all times with the highest count at about 4:p.m. they thin out quickly after that.
The owners name is John who is from Florida, David, a Canadian, and Ian from England who are managers, are very helpful in helping you feel comfortable and taking extra care to pay attention to whatever your special needs might be. I payed 55.00 U.S.for a 2 bedroom on the first floor, cocktails were about 3.00 and I'm not a beer drinker so I'm not sure. The food was average to good and I ate there most of my meals.
The chicas are 6's to maybe one 8 and price varys depending on your ability to be persuasive and the chicas financial situation
that day. Average price for short time is 1500. and long is 3000.
Friday I hooked up with a local expat and went to Sosua with two dancers from a strip club called El Bohen, really nice looking, one a 8 and one a 9. The exit fee they said if you pull them out of the club is 1200.Dominican, so anything else you will negotiate with the girl.
Sosua was nice with many little bars and some great looking women. The famous "Palace Hotel" everyone has been posting about is the biggest crack ***** looking dump I have ever seen!
The Europa hotel seemed ok and we had lunch there. The bar next door to the Europa had some great action.
In Puerto Plata there are bars, the strip joints are very commercial and you will feel like your in the states. The little bars are the most fun. I pulled chicas for free and speak very little spanish. I did pay 1250. to one late on Saturday night.

The Palace suits many just fine. It is what it is, more like a Motel 6 in quality but its clean and it has its perks. Clean sheets, a hot shower and hot women, works for me.

Alisted, I too just returned froma weekend on the North Coast, too bad the weather was bad, but our indoor activities trumped any sunshine. After some deep debating we stayed at the europa and after seeing the othe spots mentioned at the forum, it seems to have been the best choice (plus the rain made the road to the palace made it highly undesirable). The food at the Europa is also good, probably the most extensive menus we found in Sosua, Pj's is decent, Mori Mai is great for breakfast (did not try dinner) and is probably the best looking restaurant, Bologna bar was our pic for the weekend as our hang out spot, because it didn't have the pressure of the other bars and the staff was highly attractive (at least when we were there). M&M massage deserves all the accolades bestowed upon it, I fell asleep during my massage and after she was finished I stayed in there for about 20 minutes more asleep. The 4 Roses bar was always crowded alot of working girls and so close to the Europa I could call girls from my balcony (which I actually did - pseudo room service). Classico was the official nightclub of chicas alot of girls from Puerta Plata were there to dancing the night away, It was where I spent every night. About pricing, My friends and I are younger (26 y.o.) than the average monger we saw, and attractive for even South Beach standards so we were not going to spend more money on a girl than we would partying at a club in Miami, I spent an average of $1,500 for all nighters, The wildest fuck I had was this medium complexion stunner (anal, bbbjtcim and everything else I could think of trying was for 600 pesos and she never wanted to leave. Also take into account that I made the wise choice of studying spanish before I left, You can get to sosua and you can have sex without knowing a single word, but YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF, with out a decent understanding of the language, I saved my group from being ripped off numerous times with women, establishments and taxis on just a pimsleur volume 2 knowledge alone ( I can't wait to finish up the other 2 volumes so I can hangout in the untouched parts) I negotiated hard for myself and sweet talked them all the way to my bed for little or nothing and I was never rushed or ill treated because of my bargaining, they would smile and call me mafioso or diablo, but they ended up in my bed enjoying some good loving themselves. on my trip I met alot of cool mongers, some on their first trip and some who have been coming for 7 years, solo and with friends all are welcome except for the stupid ones that pay obscene prices and fuck it up for everone else, and I fyou don't believe that I was paying these prices I plan on going around september and I will gladly coordinate my time with a consistent poster, so they can witness that I am not lying about the quality of women I got for under an avg of $1500 for an all nighter. A few words of advice, If your chica speaks english (the more fluent the worse) you will overpay; Do not bother going to crystals or el boem unless money is burning a hole in your pocket actually we should boycott those places until they get reasonable prices ( a bachelor party next to us at el boem spent $260 on 2 girls on premises inthe span of an hour, that was total amount of what I spent for 4 days of constant sex all weekend) and finally just learn the damn language it makes it a 100 times better, I should know because my friend didn't speak spanish and he overpayed a few times when I wasn't around. In all an unbelievable trip! Special shout out to ******* for all the help, I have been reading the sosua board for 3 yrs 'til I went and it was what he had said verbatim.

An excellent post Vampyr - I will certainly use your wisdom and guidance when I take my second trip to DR. I will be down in the DR from Sept. 15-22. I want to spend two days in SD(Marriott- Jaragua), two in Sosua(Europa), two in Costamber (Blackbeards), one day in Santiago and then back to SD for a flight home Wednesday evening. Would love to be able to "hook-up" with an experienced monger like yourself.

So much so I am going to spend Sept. 30 - Oct. 17 In the DR. From reading these excellent boards I'm planning my trip. Think I'll move around. Ans: I don't have any experience with them, but quickest but not as suave way would be to at least learn the volume one of Pimsleur so you can learn the sentence structure (it will only be in present tense for Vol. 1) and then bring a travel dictionary with a nice verb index portion, so you can just swap verbs, its crude at best but is far better than nodding and pointing

Ans: I was there only for 4 days, If I was there for 18 I would definitely move around, how far do you go is up to your stamina, I would stick to the north coast (PP, Sosua, Cabarete) and then play it by ear. depending on what you want (normal or pro) I would spend more than a day in santiago, for some reason there are only a handful of unattractive girls compared to the other towns, also there are NO BEGGARS OR PARASITES, I forgot to mention my post beware of touts, ALL OF THEM, these cheschire cats are only out to make money riding your back, they are one of the important reasons to learn the language (one tout my amigo hung with tried to negotiate my price with the girl after I had already, he came to me and said she wants $1200 for the night, little did he know I had already negotiated $800, I saw right then and there why so many guys quote such high prices, its because of the middleman who can translate your wants and his commission in on sentence.) As for shoeshine kids only give them money if they shine your shoes, I wore canvas flip flops during the day and they still would bother me, If you tip them for nothing they grow up to become touts!

Canadian Exchange can be done, but the rates are not that good. It is better to exchange before hand. I wqent in january and found that they offered lower rates for Canadian Dollars. I went to exchange at a place by Sam's Bar around Parkado Central (sp) In Puerto Plata.

Bad news, dude. The all-inclusives almost NEVER allow working girls on their property. That's why I never stay at them, it's just too much of a aggravation having a perfectly good hotel room that you can never bring the chicas back to.
Hey, maybe somebody has some info that one of the all-inclusives on your list is different.

Of all five nos 1,4 are in Playa Dorado complex about 10 min from POP airport.
Nos 3 is in Rio San Juan. about 2 hrs from airport.
Nos2, 4 are in Puerto Plata
Mongering destination being Sosua,Puerto plata,Cabarete it is better to stay at playa dorada complex.
None of these resorts allow overnight guests unless you pay
$80 to $120 per day for the guest to stay with you. Generally they tend to discourage you bringing local women as guests.
If you have already booked the resort, for mongering purposes you can get motel rooms from $25 to $40 a night. Althought if you are young and good looking and have a way with women you can get lucky with other tourists who usually come from Europe and Canada.
With my personal experience I have gotten lucky with german girls. But it is not at all assured. They maybe very friendly but when it comes to hitting the sack they may back out.
I stayed in the Jack Tar back in January, I was not that impressed. Lots of older couples and not many singles. I met some girls on the bus from the airport to tne Jack tar, they stayed at # and I visted them a couple times. That place had a younger crowd and seemed to have a buch of single women. I aslo noticed a few guys with some "local talent".
I was able to get a local girl back into Jack Tar, but it was late at night and I look latino (and young), so I had her walk on the side opposite the guard when we entered the resort....he probably just thought tha we were a couple, jajaja. The next day we had some fun , but since she didn't have a guest bracelet, I sent her on her way.
If the Rio San Juan is towards Sosua, I would stay there, as my "tour guide" told me, most of the girls come from Sosua that work the clubs, and Sosua the selection is better. But believe me, the girls that I saw in the clubs were mostly 8 - 10s. Better than most of what you see in the photo section, although there are some hotties posted. Much appreciated guys.

Stay at the Allegro Playa Dorado Occidental. I stayed there last October when I went for the Puerto plata Jazz festival. It is a 4 star resort. The food is good, wide selection but the mixed drinks were terrible. Stick to the presidentes.
The tourist are european and lay out in the sun from early morning to dusk roasting themselves to different shades of red all the while consuming large quanties of alcohol. Avoid these people, however ymmv.
There is a gentleman by the name of Oriel (809) 249-1014, he is in charge of a group of guys on the resort who are always dressed in a white shirt and black pants. They will try to sell you vacation packages which are a rip off. Be nice to them but politely refuse. Ask them for Oriel.
Oriel has "bankers hours", the best I can figure out is that since he is in charge he creates his own hours, so if you want to maintain contact stay here and you willl not have to go looking for him and he will fill you in on his schedule.
He will bring to the complex a selection of ladies after you tell him specifically and I stress specifically what you desire. He will do this only if you are willing to pay for the guest/guests to stay at the complex (if I recall rightly it was $40/day-this includes your guest eating and drinking).
If not, he will take you off the complex to a restaurant to meet the ladies and to make your selection. If you do not like any of the ladies tell him and he will find others. If you are there over a weekend he will probably be able to obtain college girls.
Note, some of the ladies will not stay at the complex because since they do this on the side they do not want their boyfriends/husbands/ friends knowing their personal business. Therefore Oriel will take you to one of the drive-in motels with a taxi that has tinted windows of course. If you are unfamiliar with this set up then what it is---the taxi pulls into a garage, the garage door comes down and you enter the motel room directly from a door connecting the two.
He obtained for me two outstanding ladies. One was 23 years old, married with a killer body, no kids. Very affectionate and extremely responsive in bed. The other was 22 and worked as an administrative assistant at the university-her boyfriend worked at the complex (superb oral skills, mmmmmh to be eaten alive and survive).
You will decide on price with the ladies before hand. This will entitle you to 2 hours of fun initally and for the same price next time, if they like you and you treat them well, all night Note the price will be more expensive than the girls in Sousa ask for but nowhere what they ask for in the top notch strip clubs in Puerto Plata. You will have to tip Oriel, he will leave it up to you. Treat him well and he will do right by you.
There is a mall within the complex. Here you can get snacks, soda, beer, water, money. Not only will you save on the exorbitant mark-up the hotel charges you for their goodies but you have a chance to meet girls working in the shops or just walking around-some may be available, I think you have to know spanish, thus I was not successful here. There is also a disco, I was told that this is a good place to meet females. I did not frequent the place so I cannot provide any info here.
I will be in Santo Domingo for the Merengue festival. From July 28th to August 2nd. I will be staying at the Jaguar hotel and casino. I bought a package on expedia that included airfare with delta from JFK, 5 night hotel stay and transport to and from the airport for $947-don't know if this helps anyone.

One bit af advice , you should see a map of the puerto plata area. There will be many girls to choose from. In the long beach area near Crystals there are a lot of freelancers. In the town of puerto plata there are also possibilities. Ask around for a cheap hotel to bring the girls back. On the malecon you will find some hotels that are girl friendly, price 25 to 35. Sosua is wall to wall chicas.
Personally, I like to have an AI as a home base sanctuary and safe house for my valuables.
You can get a cabana for the night for dirt cheap. I stayed at Cabanas Isla Del Paraiso a few times last trip and I could not believe how cheap it was. The room plus a couple of drinks cost around 400 pesos which was $10 US at the time.
These days I can get an AI package for around $100 CDN more than the cost of a flight.
I often eat, drink, and sleep elsewhere but so what?
Just the cost to and from the airport would be a good chunk of $100 CDN.
I have stayed at Jack Tar a couple of times and it is okay but I much preferred the Paradise because it has more of a party atmosphere plus the Crazy Moon disco which is open to locals.
Gran Flamenco would be a good choice as it is close to Crazy moon and Hemingway's.
Playa Dorada is conveniently located between Puerto Plata and Sosua / Cabarete.
The Playa Dorada taxis are an extreme ripoff. Offer them less than half what the posted rates are and if they are foolish and turn down your business, just walk to another resort or outside the complex and flag down a taxi yourself.
Flat rates like 500 pesos for a couple of hours plus 200 peso per hour and a few drinks was pretty common for me, and they all wanted to see me manana.

You did not say where you are located/flying from however, the cheapest tickest are on Jetblue.
If you are located in one of the cities they service, kudos. They service both Santo domingo and Santiago. Santiago is pretty close to Puerto Plata and if you read this particular thread maybe you can fly in there and have a little fun before proceeding to Puerto Plata. It is only a short bus ride between the two.

A question concerning saftey for the DR experts. I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery, and with an arm in sling have lots of time and frequent flyer miles. I'd love to visit DR, But am I crazy to consider travelling alone to DR, unable to fend for myself properly? Please advise. I am experianced in travelling to Latin america, but not sure about expanding my advetures to DR in this condition.

I made my first trip to the DR alone last week. I decided to stay at Blackbeards because it's pretty much one stop shopping there. Everything is there for you. You don't have to travel anywhere if you don't want to and there are guys there who won't hesitate to help you out.
Don't let the fact that you're traveling alone discourage you. Sometimes you're better off that way. You only have to worry about yourself then.

AA is playing some mean game. I am currently in the Miami for some business and that is the fare they gave for POP.
I turn it around and I did Newark to POP with a Stopover in Miami the price drop to $399.00. So I will be getting on the airplane from Miami. I already check with air line and told them I had to be in Miami on business so can I "pick up" the flight from Miami. They said it was ok. Some weird stuff is going on.

Anyone ever hear of Sun Village? I might go to this resort. Is it close to any of the actions?
Heres the deal with sun villiage.You are car ride away from the real action but, if you get a room on backside of the resort there is a street there tat will take you to the beach. It is a common road and you can also sneak chicas into the resort from this road. Otherwise than that it is regular all-inclusive. Good luck and don't get caught a cab will drive you down the road to room right past security.

Puerto Plata is a small town, mostly residential, there might be 10 tourists in the town. Best place for chicas freelancers at long beach around Crystals . Look at a map. Sousa is way more developed. You will not be the only tourist there. A lot of girls to choose from . Restaurents and grocery stores to buy bottled water and other soft drinks. Endless supply of girls walking around.

I have been checking out a couple of web sites produced by Don Miller, who is an American that has lived in puerto plata for 15 years. He is advertising hotel rooms for $14.00 US and one bedroom apartments for $25.00 US at www.roomspop.com He is also producing an escort service web site at www.raquelsescort.com
According to this information Don will pick you up at the POP airport, arrange a room or apartment, arrange tours, and arrange a car and driver. He will even arrange girls for you to meet. Has anyone had any experience using Don Miller for these services?
We get to Puerto Plata at about 9:00 pm. We catch a taxi to Black Beards for real cheap money. As we get out the taxi and walk into Black Beards the first thing I see is about 5 or 6 chicas yelling for us to come over. We walk to the desk and I think it was Dave who came down to greet us. He showed us our rooms and gave us a book on what to expect at Black Beards. The rates for the chicas was 1500 pesos ST and 3000 pesos overnight. We got situated in our rooms and went for something to eat.
We go to the restaurant and sit down. Two girls came over to us and introduced themselves. Lylonka and Ruth who are both on the Blackbeards website. They both sit down on the other side of the table with two of my boys. We order some food and some drinks and order the girls some drinks. We laugh and joke for a while then Lylonka got up and when over to the bar and grabbed two other girls. One was Angelis who is also on the website and I can not remember the other girls name. The menu wasn’t that appealing. 3’s 4’s and 5’s for the most part. I look to the other side of the bar and seen a needle in the haystack. Carmen (who’s on the Blackbeards website) was sitting down look pretty good. I told her to come over to me. She comes over and I immediately grab her little tight ass. She smiles and grabs my dick. Then I smile J. I think I found what I wanted to go home with tonight.
My boys wanted to go into Crystals before any final decisions were made. They were right. So I put Carmen on pause and went into the club. She said that Carmen was upset that I left her to go to the club. I told the girl to tell Carmen that I can take home any ***** in this bar that I wanted to. When I leave here who the fuck will she be going home with? Carmen got the hint and came over and grabbed my hand.
We got back to the room. I grabbed her a beer from out of the fridge. I had to go to the bathroom. As I came out the bathroom she walked up to me and said “fuck me now” and laid on the bed. I pulled her up and walked her over to my bed, stripped her and myself of cloths and stuck my dick in her mouth. Carmen was a pretty good fuck. I would stay in Sosua. When people think or make travel arrangements, they are usually directed to Playa Dorado, which is a resort community. Sosua is definately more liberal in the fact it is a town. I personally like Puerto Plata because of the bars and clubs, although, for a first timer, and not being able to get around, Sosua is a better fit for you.

I think thats the best way to go. If you see something you like, and she is alone, just introduce yourself. I have found out that the Dominican women won't make prolonged eye contact, only the working ones. I go to Montellano, there is a huge club there, its called Brisas de Camu. You have to go when someone is playing there.
Personally, there are just too many places to see.
I just got back last week, and did a 45 minute trip from Puerto Plata to Santiago through the "lomas"...mountains. It was awesome. Actually "Barrio" is the Spnish word for "neighborhood" and it only means "ghetto " in English speaking areas, like the USA, where technically is it not being used properly.
Everyone in the DR lives in a barrio and a lot of the barrios if not all of them have names. The trick it to know which ones are bad, e.g. Gazcue in the DR is good, Barrio Mexico in SP de Macoris is very very bad.

Response To Karybou. I just returned Aug 19th after 10 days at Blackbeards, this was my third trip this year to Puerto Plata / Costambar. Blackbeards is extreamly clean and the staff right from the owner John and General Mgr. David, down to housekeeping make your stay enjoyable. The pool and hot tub are big and clean, food is good and the bar well stocked, back up power, and the ladies much better looking than the web-site pictures. The local expat sceen in Costambar is worth a look, you pick up lots of info, try Robertos Bar, no ladies just good people that can steer you straight. If this is your first time in the DR, than blackbeards is the way to go, both Dave and John will hear confessions in the morning and provide mental health services threwout the day. One final note, for any mongers that have been to blackbeards, I offer this Anaology, the guys walking threw the gate are like grazing herds on the plains and the girls are the Loiness waiting,stalking the prey, its a wild sceen.

Exchange Questiom? In March of this year, I got a rate of 47 pesos to the USD, May, 49 Pesos to USD, A week ago only 38 Pesos to USD. My next trip is in Nov, any feelings as to which way the exchange might go?

There are frequent power cuts in DR. Though Blackbeards has a generator, it does not power the Air conditioners. It does though run the A/C's in the 'D' block rooms (D-1, D-2, D-3).
If you can't sleep in a hot humid room, I suggest asking for these rooms.

Another option would be to drive over to Toronto Pearson Airport, about 4 hours from Detroit, and pick up a charter like Skyservice for about $679cdn leaving the 21st of December.

The resorts are not girl friendly . Playa Dorada complex has good all inclusives. Get a map. Hit the malecon, rent a hotel room and bring girls back to your room. Everything ,including all inclusives ,are closer in Sosua. You will have to take a cab all around at night. Also the Coral Hamaca in Boca is right next to the town, you walk over. Lonely planet guide book will give you leads.
I've just posted a full report under the Sosua section of the Forum that contains details of my stay at Blackbeards near Puerta Plata. Basically Blackbeards really did it for me, but it was all downhill in Sosua.

Yes, you can bring any girl from anywhere back to Blackbeards. As long as she has an ID that proves that she is at least 18 years old, which in my opinion is a very good policy. (Why go the bother to travel where prostitution is legal, and then violate the law, both US and Dominican?)
The advantage’s of using the Blackbeards girls in my opinion are that:
1.) You pay NO bar fee like that at Crystals or other POP bars. You pay NO fee to Blackbeards for taking one of the girls, you ONLY pay the girl. Fees are set 1500 pesos for a short time, 3000 pesos for all night.
2) You don’t have to worry as much about being rolled, or property coming up missing, because the girls are known.
3) A very nice selection of girls start showing up about 4:00 to 5:00 PM and it begins to thin out about 9:00 PM. I do not like to stay out until 2:00/3:00 AM and to drink a lot. I can stay out late and drink at home. I can not spend the entire night with a beautiful 20 year old girl for under $100.00 at home. So if I am not in bed with a naked pretty young girl by midnight I am not following my plan.
4) Blackbeards has a very relaxed atmosphere. If you are like me and speak no Spanish then I would highly recommend Blackbeards. There is always someone there who can help with simple translation.
I spent a week at Blackbeards in March and I am going back over the Christmas/New Years holiday. I had the time of my life there. I used Blackbeard’s girls every night except one. I paid a 500 peso bar fee once. No problem bringing her back. In fact in the morning, David (the manager) tried to recruit her for Blackbeards. Because she was drop dead gorgeous. It is amazing how that more girls look good late, and night after 5 or 6 Presidente beers. If you follow my plan and not drink to excess, you will be safer, have a better time, and the girl you selected will still look good in the morning.

I must take exception to your statement that Blackbeards will allow outside woman in with only proof of age. During my recent visit I almost got into a fist fight with the night security over allowing a chica in that was with me cause she didn't have the required card that they carry.
She had I.D. but not the registration card. Also she was 23 or 24 and by no means looked under 18. Maybe he was busting my balls but the remainder of my trip I made sure that the ladies had the proper registration card. Really is for our protection but I would re-check with Blackbeards.
