How much did it cost you??
Jim, $2400 for 3 nights is ridiculous. Even if I had money to burn, I would rather spend it wisely, give it away, or just blow it at the casino. I'd rather spend a couple of glorious weeks with *******, and have access to much greater selection of chicas.
Trip reports are great, but posting this spam all over the board is pretty pathetic.

I love to hunt. I live to be a monger, but some of us don't have $2400.00 to give up just like that. I am glad you had fun. The first time I went to DR the hustlers and this page guided me. I met this chick on line from DR and went a second time, we hooked up in Santo Domingo and I stab it the first night. She took me to her house, I met her family. I had a good time with her. The people are very friendly. I was able to get out and find Cine and Casa De Modelos without help. I don't even speak spanish. Casa De Modelos has really good looking chicas.
I will be in Punta Cana next week and will try to go back to Santo Domingo in July for more R&R.
I would like to hit up Thailand or the Philipines one day.

this was my 2nd trip, first time i was lost in santo domingo, looking for fun. this time with babylon it was great, no hunting just fun! yes, the cost was high, but i could pay for it. there was no worries, just all fun. i speak 30 words in spanish, so this was easy to do. they are great people. you get what you pay for.
when i go to asia, especial thailand, it is a whole different thing, no packages, just shoot from the hip. but i speak endlish, thai, korean, and some chinese. so life is great.
if you have ever been to thailand, it is a must. the people are great, and the girls will blow you away. walk into a gogo club and there is 200 plus girls working and dance in the club and the problem is, step out the door and 50 feet away is another club. the club areas are setup in shopping center type setups with 20 to 50 clubs in a block area, stack on top of each other. it is great! nothing like d.r. the cost is allot cheaper than d.r.and the airline tickets are not much more, the only negtive is it is 22 hours from chicago. not a long weekend trip, 7 to 10 day min.

phillipines are fun, but you better have tour guide. crime is high in the phillipines, back in the 80's it was great, but now you may need a body guard. when i go there on business, the companies i do business with usual have a driver/body guard with me the whole, you stand out as a western in the phillipines.

went to remington 1 evening and it was closed, later saw during the day some remodeling, dont now of they will opening soon.got a good time in chichi bar. barfee 300 pesos, girls 400-700 depending on your spanisch skills, but by these prices and the dollar by 29, had to go crease, took 4 girls and the suite at the cabana's for 4 hours of fun and 3800 pesos you cant beet this.its less $130.00 dollars ore for me less then 115 euro

I would go to Puerto Plata and stay in Sousa at either the Europa or the Plaza. This way you are on the beach and still can travel to Puerta Plata and enjoy the chicas in both places. I would also recommend reading the posts of ******* these will help you immensely.

Flew out Friday AA netsaver 179.00 MIA - SDQ
Wanted to stay somewhere different than the Malecon, a hotel that was chica friendly. My novia would be spending the weekend with me.
Did some research and found the Hotel Mercure, http://www.mercure.com , in the heart of Colonial City. Walking distance to the malecon 0r a 50 peso cab ride. The hotel is about two years old, art deco type, cold air and hot water. The only drawback were the size of the rooms. Rooms normally go for 86.00 a night, at their website found a 59.00 web special. They have an outdoor patio right on El Conde for watching. The conde is an outdoor shopping district, and this hotel is located in the center of action. A simple PSSSST will bring a chica over to your table. Had a great dinner at Plaza Espana in front of Casa Colon. The restaraunt was called Pata del Palo.
My novia would leve around 2 pm to go home and get a change of clothes this gave me time to check out local happenings.
Went to Spa Mon Lisa. A RIP OFF!!!!! They want 3200 pesos or 100.00 US for short time. Now there was about 20 girls. 1 9 and 5 8s and the rest were 7s , seems since Remington Palace is closed they have taken some of the girls.

La Casona Dorada is a pretty decent hotel with a pool. Ave Independencia No 225 809 221 3535 809 476 7910. Cost about 45.00 a day. About a 5 minute walk from the El Conde.

puerto plata last week so I would check there website frequently. I think it was $279.00 from ny and $179.00 from miami. Anyways I would like to hookup with someone that knows their way around a bit better then me. I would like to spend some time north and south. Only been to the DR once.

Your company will be my pleasure. I think about end of Aug Beginning of Sept. 2 weeks total. AA normally offer deals for 1 week stay only so I won`t be able to use them. Will consider other options. Probably will go to SD. 2-3 days hunt there. Then to Sosua to Palace ( usually booked up), or Dolphin or Blackbeard. I guess all of them are close to each other. Maybe for a day or two to the countryside. And a long-time idea to go to Cuba by ferry. These are my plans. But plans never realize. I would be happy though to meet a nice girl right on the first day and to spend all the time with her. I am old enough to understand that quality is first to quantity.

I'm in NY now, but may be moving back to south Florida in a few weeks. I'll check out those air- fares. Jimmy Dr said he may return in sept. I prefer to book my trip around his arrival, but it's not essential. I want to stay in Sosua for at least 5 days, preferrably at the palace. I also want to spend 3-4 days int the south coast by Santo Domingo for gf scouting. I've been to the DR once last sept. Most of my time there was spent at the Europa in Sosua. I know my way around there but I will still rely on the boards for a lot of trip help and info when i go again, as i think some things have changed in Sosua (ie-more bars and some new girls) for the better i think since my trip. Hello Everyone.
I just got back from DR and to tell you the truth I miss it already. Since it was sort of a vacation from work / chica hunting thing I stayed in an all inclusive resort. And like everyone here said they would not let me bring any ahh...guests back to the room. Not really a problem since I speak less than 10 words in Spanish and I know I wouldn't have done any better in any one of those hotels they have there. The hotel was actually in Boca Chica and the area around the resort wasnt the best for someone who cant speak Spanish. There was a large amount of cyclist goin up down the street looking for tourists who want to have some fun, so instead of goin on a jorney I took the easy way out, and either had them take me to a MP. About 1200 pesos (room and chica) or I had the girl brought to me and booked a small hotel down the street for the night wich was bout $25-$30.
I can't really complain since I had fun and all, but still curious if I got ripped off or not. I probably should be posting this at Boca Chica forum page, but since I got all my info and advice here, I decided to post it here to tell ya how it went.
I appreciate everyones advice and am looking forward to my next outing.

One of our clients at Mr. Particular who is not a member of this site wrote us the other day and asked that we post his testimonial here. Hope it helps you guys out.
I spent the night in Santo Domingo with Mr. Particular and he took me to a place where all the women were drop dead gorgeous. All of them were model types, tall skinny, long legs, gorgeous complextions, great asses, beautiful faces, there were about 25 girls, only a few were a little plump. I guess some men like them that way. He negotiated a good price for all night, even though we left at 9.30 the house let her go all night. This is not usual before midnight. You find the right one, you don't pay them anything, just look after food and lodging, like you would a girlfriend. That is easily attainable if you know how to go about it. Please email our man in Santo Domingo for more info. Remington's is not yet open but lots of other places to explore.

I can comment on hotels near Jaragua, I don't use amp's, etc. The cheapest hotel/gf one near the Jaragua and on the Malecon is the Hotel Napolitano. I have stayed there a couple of times for a night or two on various trips, very nice hotel. It has been about a year but was running about 65US, have heard price is higher now but they have website so if you email and request a price you will get one. It is a nice hotel but there are other ones in SD that are cheaper but in various areas: El Palacio, Mercure Commerical, etc. I prefer to stay by the Colonial Zone myself.

haven't been to Casa Modelos in over a year, but I remember it as having a few truly stunning chicas. Some only 18, 19 years old that looked spectacular. Silky long straight jet black hair, very thing bodies, perfect asses, etc.
The rates were rather high around 1500 pesos for an hour.
One sour note, I found the professional girls in these joints VERY PROFESSIONAL and much preferred the free service that I received from AMATUER girls that I met in the regular clubs.
I had a few good experiences at Remingtons and a few bad experiences as well.
Note when I was there the peso was at 17 to 1 US dollar.
If they haven't adjusted their prices then I would venture that Mongers would find good value in the DR now.

When to Casa De Modelos in May. Casa is my favorite place to go at night. I always leave with the best. They have so many I want to hit. Casa maintains some good looking chicas. The chicas know what they are expected to do also. I usually hit them twice and send them on there way. In May the prices to 1600rd to take one out. Stop by Casa, you won't be disappointed.
My hotel is the Mercure Hotel on El Conde. They are chica friendly and it's a great place to see many young women in tight jeans. The Mercure has an internet rate of $69.00 a night.

Are the prices the same for ST and LT if you pay with pesos? If so this is a tremendous opportunity to get "bang" for the buck!

As of today in Santo Domingo, peso has gained a little strength and is now exchanging about 34RD at cambios and about 33.5RD at banks. I believe it's because of the Pan Am games and DR govt is trying to control for better exchange rate the huge amount of Euro/US/foreign currency that is solid right now in the country, just my opinion. Prices still about the same for st and overnight. Great market right now for mongers because prices of everything is up, high electricity and gas at all time high, staples all up 25percent or more, loans are being paid back at over 40 percent up more than 7 percent within the last 6 months, with people getting paid the same wages, the country is hurting bad right now. I believe a lot more single mothers, college students, etc are going to enter the trade.
do you think that quality of girls in casa modelos is higher than in casa teresa? btw what are the prices at teresa now? is remington open?

Yes. In May I went to Casa Teresa for the first time and saw a chica I hit in January at Cine. So, I hit it again. She rolled out the red carpet for me. I was with her for over two hours. In Cine she had just started now she is a pro. Chicas in Teresa was kind of aggressive. One of the girls speaks perfect English because she lived in NYC before. There were only 5s, 6s, and 7s in Teresa. The price was 1500rd. It was worth it. I was drained after our session.
Casa De Modelos is my favorite. At least 20 chicas on property and mostly 8s, 9s, 10s in all different sizes and colors. I like to sit and watch them just move around the room while look for my next chica. Modelos chicas are not aggressive. It is one of the better-managed spot from what I have seen. I already know which one I want next time I go back.
I want to thanks all my fellow monger for helping me with your valuable postings. I have been to DR four times this year. I am going again on Friday for seven days. Got a little honey there that licks me from head to toe and she is a great cook too. I will be staying in Boca Chica to save cash and with the cash saved I am renting a car to get around. I wish I could have experienced the Boca Chica years. I will be getting out to visit the Casas and a few other spots.

AA is putting it to travelers for overage on baggage...They have signs posted, so much per bag, so much total, and the hits thereafter. I see it as a simple way to raise prices...
They let me slide (until now) because I am platinum, but I know plenty of others who have been nailed. I can't comment on the others, but AA wouldn't be my first choice if I knowing had heavy bags, unless you saved enough on the fare to be able to spend $50-100 more each way for luggage surchages. Call them or look up on the web what the rules are and you can make your own evaluation.
Just arrived in SD last night and Mr. Particular met me at the airport. Went out to 4-5 clubs and casas. Casa Theresa, Casa Rosada, Casa de Modeles and a massage Fuentes del Manao SPA Calle Club Activo 20-30 No. 85 Ens Ozama Met a cute girl at Fuentes SPA but they would not allow take-out, so we left.
Some good lookers at Casa Theresa, but they were aggressivas. Immediately they tried to negoiate a deal at 1700 for ST upstairs.
Sad to say the prices have gone up about as fast as the peso v. dollar rate has. Now 33 pesos to the dollar, but the casas are charging 1700 for ST on premises and about 3000-3300 for over night LT.
Still found the best girls were at Casa de Modeles. Were about 35 young girls there and 10 were stunners. I am not exaggerating. Some of the girls were into themselves and all were interested in money.
Mr. Particular was good company, especially helpful as a guide for someone who is making their first trip to Santo Domingo. He charges $20 an hour including his car, and is a good guide for the latest places that are hot. Please note that I have no complaints about his services. Mr. Particular was helpful in finding a low cost hotel room for me and was good company. He will tell it to you straight and is an honest guy.
Picked out a rubia (blond) girl, Laura, at Casa de Modeles. 3300 LT but reduced to 3000 almost $90 US. Quite a bit more $$$ than I thought I would have to pay for a girl in S Domingo. The girl was light skinned, 24 and had a great bod.
Some warnings about taking a girl to your hotel room. Expect problems. This girl complained about the room, so I ended up getting a better room that cost me $20 more. Then she wanted to talk on the telephone and watch tv. Please note that it was 12 midnight, past my bedtime and I was interested in sex and sleep. Granted, I am not the best conversationalist in Spanish or even in English, but I was the one who paid, not her.
Then when it was sex time, she complained about being hungry after I had offered her a meal before on the way to the hotel. These girls stay up until 4 am every night and expect you to entertain them until their bedtime at 4 am. Finally I shut off the TV. Immediately she started demanding a condom even before any foreplay. So I screwed her hard enough to start her period some, at least the wastebasket in the bathroom had some tissue on it with blood. Went to sleep.
At the Casa she had agreed to stay through breakfast . About 7:30 a.m. she is up, dresses and is ready to go home. We had agreed she would stay for breakfast with me and I had planned on banging her in the morning too.
Next she demanded taxi money. Fortunately I had locked all my paper money up in the front desk safe and told her so. I told her I was sleeping and demanded silence. She wouldn't stop, so I showed her the 3 pesos on the nightstand that I had had left in my pocket. I said she should take the public bus home. She did not like that suggestion because she was "high class" in her own mind.
She slapped the peso coins on the floor. That was enough of her, so I took her by the arm and walked her to the door. (One should never give the girl a tip if she is not worth it, and never give them money for a taxi after you have paid them 3000 pesos the night before. You are just raising their expectations for the next chump.) She had done nothing to keep her part of the deal and certainly was not getting any cab fare from me.
She resisted my attempt to walk her out the hotel room door so I went to the room telephone and called the front dest to get her out. When she saw I was serious she went out and lowdly slammed the door. Reminded my why I got rid of my ex.
Typical DR whor'e. Now you can see why many hotels are not "girl friendly." All of the girls are manipulative liars who only want to scheme to take your money. Mr. Particular will agree.
At least you get laid, but the girls, ALL OF THE GIRLS are interested in preying on you for your money. It is a constant battle from the start. If you think for 1 second it is about you, you are stupid. You have to watch these girls like a hawk or they will prey on your emotions, make demands, and walk out early instead of keeping their promises.

Damn, that sounds like a horrible time to me. You are right though, girls are only after money so everyone, never ever, pay up front, if girl doesn't like that, then too bad. Over 3000RD, that is way too much for my budget and no one should pay even close to that amount. You were screwed, simple as that and didn't get crap. Chalk that up to a lesson learnt. Ditch the driver because they often get a cut and you don't need one. Pick a girl up from Boca Chica and you will find anyone you want for 1000RD or less a night. They are all over on Duarte and on the beach during the day. Ask Peter/or Fleming at La Playa Vista or one of the regulars there, they will help you out and won't gouge you.
I know some people have businesses to help others find chicas but you would have done much better with a local driver and for 25US, he would have driven you to local places and been your driver in Santo Domingo for the whole evening. Plus found you chicas that would go home with you with probably a gfe and a much better time. For normal girls, I obtain a membership for about 10US on a friends site for 1 month before I am scheduled to go, set up plans with a few girls to meet. I have a very good gfe and use pros in between the girls.
TO Mr. Particular: I have seen the websites for the places you endorse and seen the part at the bottom where it says to use your services. I would never use you because you took this man for a ride, didn't give him proper bang for buck, and aren't helping mongers at all in my opinion. For 50US for a Whole Day in Santo Domingo, I can have a local driver get me normal girls/semi-pros: college students, single mothers, etc, women they know looking to make some cash. The women wouldn't charge no d..n 3000RD plus either. Shame on you.

Showed up at noon, but no Cheila. There were 3 other girls that were passable. Casa mom told me my rate was today 1700 for short-time. The rate on Saturday had been a "special." Waited 40 minutes for Cheila and left, disappointed at being quoted the gringo rate.
Decided to leave. Decided to abort the trip. 3 days, 1 unpleasant lay. 2 dry days. $500 spent on trip.
Hope the rest of you have better luck. Sorry for telling the good, the bad and the ugly. Hope some of you readers may benefit from my reports. I try to tell it straight and no hype.

Just my 2 cents, but sounds like you need to take some blame in not having a good trip.Some obvious reasons: 1. You didn't use the vital info off the WSG's SD board. 2. You relied heavily on an overpriced guide who didn't help with the chica negotiaitions. 3. You never negotiated beyond the 'gringo price' the chicas quoted you. 4. You got confrontational with 1 of the modeles girls in your hotel room by grabbing her arm. Best fun was spending day 2 at Jaragua Hotel by the pool, using exercise room and talking with the Pan American girls from Canada.
I think the problem is the pay before play system of the Casas, just like the runners of Angeles City Philippines. After the house gets paid its all downhill with the girls' attitudes and they turn into runners. Had it happen before on previous DR trips, about a third of the time.
Best trip this year was Thailand. Maybe its the "pay you in the morning" system that keeps the girls nice.

I did not have a bad time in the North, I actually enjoyed Puerto Plata at the $15 a night time-share resort I posted about a few weeks ago and had a cute girl from La Bohem. Many of Jimmy DR's smart comments about my last trip to Northern DR were deleted after he posted them, probably by Jackson. Note that 2 of his posts today were also deleted.
This long weekend trip to Santa Domingo was cut short because the peso v. dollar ratio, though better, did not make prices better because of great inflation in DR. Girls were very expensive and not worth the money.

Taxi from the SD airport is about $28 and each stop is extra. Think. You can have Mr. Particular pick you up at the airport and make a few stops on the way to the hotel for LESS money than a taxi driver.
And $20 an hour is also a group rate. 3-4 guys get the same rate as 1.

I am writing this to all of the forum users out there, so that I can bring up a few points about me and also about the "scene" in Santo Domingo. I am the person fondly or not so fondly referred to as Mr. Particular. I am an American who has lived in Santo Domingo for 9 years. I speak fluent spanish, and through many personal and business trials and tribulations I have managed to gain a great deal of knowledge and insight into all aspects of Dominican life and culture.
I would like to take the time to address several subjects that I have recently read on the boards, although I have to admit I don't regularly read these boards nor will I be regularly reading them into the future. Not to show any disrespect to anyone who regularly writes their opinions in these columns, but I simply have many other more important things to do which encompass my life here in Santo Domingo. Please don't be offended if I don't respond on the forums, the best place to reach me is the mrparticular02@yahoo.com address should you want me to respond. In the next month, you can also access me on our new website mrparticular.com.
One of my big concerns in reading some of the opinions and advice columns given by "experts" on the DR is that people are often encouraged to do it on your own, that the DR is a safe place and you can basically have your own adventure here. This is not only very poor advice but it is very dangerous advice, and ignorant as well. Unless you live here, you may be coming here every few months/6 months/once a year, and you will have a feeling that you are king and the world is your oyster. Very wrong.
With the fall of the peso here (which many of you are finding is working towards your advantage) the level of desperation is at an all time high. People are capable of doing anything (and are) if it means getting a few bucks in their pocket. Last week a police general was wounded and sargent killed here in a robbery attempt by two people in Santiago, that were then caught and killed. Crime is very much up here and this is because those who make pesos are not making any more money, and while their salaries remain the same inflation is at 60% compared to a year ago at this time.
I am not trying to scare you from coming here, I am simply saying to you use your heads before you encourage anyone to come down here in "do it themselves" mode.
When I take people on tours, I know of 27 stops that I can take them. All of the stops know me personally and respect me. Both the management and the girls know that when I walk in the door they better treat the client with respect and not inflate their prices, or they won't be seeing me very much or ever again. If they mistreat the client, they will see me again but they won't very much like it. Luckily this doesn't happen very often.
Santo Domingo houses have their rules that I have absolutely no control over. When you go to a house between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. and you pay for a girl to be taken out, you can have her for up to 3 hours. Incidentally you pay the same if you take her out for the 3 hours or do her there for 1 hour or so. If you take the girl after 1 in the morning, you can have her until 11 in the morning only if she agrees to those terms. If you do what NPaul did, for example, and want the girl at say 10 p.m. until the next morning, you have to pay a double salida, which is why he paid so much. I will allow him to tell you if he was informed of this and if I speak the truth.
Now let's address the issue of commissions that a lot of you seem so worried about.
Most houses pay the guide a commission for bringing the client by. This commission comes out of the girl's cut and does not affect how much you pay, whether you go with a guide or not. The girls don't mind the guide taking the cut because they know if my client gets treated right, and another client uses my service another day who likes her, that I will recommend her as a good choice to spend the night. She winds up getting a lot more business. Girls who have no intention of treating my clients well also know to stay away from a Mr. Particular client, because if I find out that they were not treated right, I will go back the next day and have a talk with the management. Just out of curiosity, how many other services are doing this?
Now about casa de las modelos in the University zone. I highly recommend that everyone stay away from there. You have already read NPaul's experience. I also had 2 other customers that went together and took 2 girls out at 4 a.m.. I spoke with the girls and they assured me that they would stay with my clients until 11 a.m., and they ran out after 45 minutes in a planned scheme. I went back the next day with the 2 customers, and spoke with the boss (a vicious looking thing that looks like she could play linebacker in the NFL) and explained the situation to her, and demanded that the money be returned to my clients. She spoke with the girls, who of course denied everything, and refused to give the money back and threw me out of the house.
Casa de las Modelos used to be a good place, but the personality of the place has changed recently. The girls are much tougher and do less for more than any other place I have found. Casa de las modelos also stopped paying commissions to guides 4 months ago, but, for the record, I still brought any and all customers that were interested in this place by there until now. I will not be bringing any other clients by this place ever again.
Now to address those who come down here and want something for nothing, which they seem to think exists here when they can't get that in their own country. I have never put a pistol to anyone's head to use our service. Those who have used it, and there have been many of you, know that I am very professional, I treat you very well, that I am honest (yes, I will even tell the client when I am getting a commission), and that you will be safe on my tour. I cannot absolutely guarantee that the girl will treat you as you would like, although I have a very high rating with my clients, it is not perfect. Guys who use my service regularly know I throw them discounts all the time.
I guess the main thing here is that if you would like to take a tour of Santo Domingo with someone who speaks fluent English and Spanish and has 9 years of experience living here, that takes the guess work and hassles out of your vacation so you can have the best time, then I am your man, and if you have it all figured out or have a cheaper way of doing things, that's fine, too, and I respect that, and I hope that you respect that I would rather be doing something else such as spending time with my family.
Only going by the posts made here, it does seem that Mr. Particular is using this board as an adevrtising vehicle.
Now, it may be that he's as honest as the day is long, provides wirhtwhile service for his fees, and everyone leaves happy. Or he may be a conman, or anything in between. I have no idea.
But it does seem to me that the main feature of this site is the exchange of information between mongers about girls. When an advertiser starts giving himself "reviews," I cannot help but imagine there is a bias towards rating himself favorably.

I don't agree. Any big city has its dangerous spots. I wouldn't advise you to wander around Hunt's Point in NYC, the Mission District in SF, or SE Washington Dc unless you know what you're doing. At the same time, it's possible for a person to find safe services in all of these cities.
This advice is also self-serving. If Santo Domingo isn't safe for a monger on his own, it follows that aguide is needed. And, lo and behold, Mr. Particular just happens to be a guide. Oh, happy day!
My point is this: honest or a cheat, Mr. P's posts offer the appearance of impropriety. I'll just stick to the Jaragua lobby and occasional three-block walks, myself. Sans guide. I'm brave.

It's been a while since I have been in Santo Domingo, but I finally get to return! I should be in town on the weekend of the 20th, so if anyone wants to go for a couple of presidentes and hit a few clubs let me know. i do want to check and see if Remington's is open too.
OK, I am not some wannabe. I have traveled to santo domingo over 50 times and have been living in the capital for over a year now.
A couple of points. There are bad neighborhodds in SD. Most casas are not in those neighborhoods. Most of the day time places are located in Gazcue which is actually among the nicer parts. It is near all the major hotels and is pretty damn safe. I have walked through Gazcue a million times at all times of night and had ZERO problems.
Commisions. Bold faced LIE. The commision does not come out of the girls cut. It is ADDED on the bill. All the people that have posted prices of over 3,000 pesos for Mona Lisa are over paying. I can get FS for 1500 ANY day.
I have a Dominican buddy that has 2 taxi touristicas. I took him to 9 massage places on Monday. He now works outside the Sofitel and has a lot of french guys asking him about chicas.
EVERY place I took him to offered commissions. EVERY one of them added money to the price. One place said they get 1800 pesos, but if my buddy could get the rich french dudes to pay 3500, he can keep the REST.
This is how it works down there. Full service can be had for as little as 1000-1200 pesos. les than 35 bucks.
I have an idea for a website for DR mongerers and I will post my plan soon!
There will be no cost to mongerers, no commisions, no cost to customer at all.
I will say, if you do not speak spanish, having a guide show you around ONE day is a great idea. 20 bucks an hour sounds reasonable, if you do not wind up paying more because of the commision.

Ok, am back from my trip and didn't spend much time in Santo Domingo and will post later on the BC board. Let's keep the info flowing but I want to make this point:
If people want to pay for a guide because they are apprehensive and want to get the feel of an area, there is nothing wrong with that. If the guide gets commission plus higher prices for their clients that is wrong. I have knocked this Mr. Particular down and I will say this, I do not know him or anyone else in his organization. BUT Peter and Fleming at La Playa Vista in Boca Chica do NOT know of and/or endorse any services at their beach bar, they made it clear to me a couple of weeks ago to post this. They only know of a man named Juan/John? a few times that was trying to spirit away some of their patrons to get with them and go find girls. Mr. Particular posted that he knew Peter and Fleming at La Playa Vista and made it seem like their bar was a regular pick up place to obtain clients, both have emphatically denied this. I know Peter and Fleming well and they are honest businessman who offer FREE advice to newcomers and is a haven for mongerers and regulars to Boca Chica. Santo Domingo is larger than but NOT nearly as dangerous as say Detroit. I have never had any problem in Santo Domingo but I always am observant as well. With a little common sense everything should be fine. That is all I have to say on this matter.

After reading reviews on this Site, I decided to spend 4 days mongering while in Santo Domingo. Located a “girl-friendly” hotel (Palaciao) in Congesso about ½ mile from Juaragua Hotel, and paid us$70/nite. An nice second floor room with 15 foot ceiling, a digital safe, king-sized bed, and Italian style balcony overlooking the street where you could see lots of neighborhood action, during day. There was also a small fridge stocked with a range of snacks and drinks, ideal since I have a phobia about eating with the “girls” in public. Would definitely stay there again!
First by way of comment: My Anglo brothers, there is no need for you to go to a w/house in Santo Domingo – none! Sure it may require a little work but you certainly do get a positive reaction from gorgeous women on the street. It is often a subtle, yet intense desire for you to make contact. I watched in amazement as this would happen, yet my Anglo brothers never even noticed. Damn you’re lucky; I was so envious since I had to work at it – hard. For me, the w/house was absolutely necessary and I am no slouch!
Day one: I went to the Juaraqua Casino to scope out the action under the pretense of gambling. Noticed that women strategically position themselves around the entrance, the disco and table games to catch the eye of the “interested”. These women were wide ranging from 3 to 7 and, in my opinion, savvier than the w/house variety. Most appeared to be a little older, and seem to have lost the tight curves that would have gotten them plucked for action during the w/house line up. By this point, I had given up on ‘pretty girl – great sex’, so it was left for him to deliver a girl that would perform. His money depended on it; us$55 – no performance, no pay! I also agreed to give him us$15 if I didn’t pick either. So, he goes away and eventually returns, at 7:30 a.m., with two young ‘tenderonnies’. These girls were obviously not from Modelos, nor were they very pretty, but I chose one (should have taken both) and headed to my room for action. Once satisfied, I called this guy (cell) to come pick her up. Since she delivered, I paid the agreed price. Was not sure if the girl was 18 as they both assured, but her body was the nicest and tightest I saw in DR. And the sex was in a word, OUTSTANDING! Walking out the door she turns and, in Spanish, whispers in my ear: “Did u cum because I sure did!” That; my friends, restored my faith in the SD mongering experience.

If you are going to ask a question about going down on her, it would be SILLY to use the "formal"/ustedes form. This is a highly personal question and in such situations it would be preposterous and foolish not to use the personal/tu form.

I got back from SD where I spent my Labor Day weekend and wanted to give you a quick update.
My plane from NYC got delayed and my buddy and I (late 20’s, basic Spanish) exchanged pesos for dollars (US 1 = RD 32.5) at the airport upon our late arrival. I kept the receipt, which allowed me to change any “unused” pesos back to dollars on my way back.
The cab drivers were insisting on dollars and I did not have the time to look for alternatives, so after a 30 min ride (US 25) we checked into Mercure hotel located in El Conde district. The hotel is guest friendly; the room has an AC and a lock-box. Someone here said that the rooms are small, but, being a New Yorker, I didn’t complain at all. I found an internet special (US 75) and made sure that the room is for 2 people, so I could bring chicas. The only drawback is that the free breakfast they offer is not exactly up to my standards, so I had to eat my ham and cheese omelets at a nearby café.
I was determined not to sleep alone that night, so we went out right after the check-in, which was around 1:00am. Remington Palace was closed and has been closed for a while, so we went to Casa de Modelos. There were about 20 chicas ranging from 6 to 9 who were available for take-out - both ST (RD 1,800) and TLN (RD 3,700). Everything covered and no pictures under any circumstances. I didn’t like the sound of that and off we went to the next place – Lapsus.

Just a side note regarding cabs: the cab drivers tried to rip me off, asking outrages prices or payments in $US. I knew the drill and never paid more than RD 100 anywhere, including the discos on another side of the bridge.

It was hard to talk to chicas because the music was loud and I was thinking to myself that dancing for hours before (maybe) getting her into bed is not really worth it to me that much on my short trip in the DR – I could do the same in Manhattan. But it was doable.

Any taxista you deal with in Zona Colonial, and the Malecon and around tourists areas and hotels will completely try to rip you off. Best to avoid them if possible.

Dutch, great report, but at Modelos you can get 1800 pesos TLN. Now the girl might try and split before hand and I have been hearing bad things about service, but nver pay double that.
Also Monte Christo and Camelot are not on the other side of the Bridge. They are both in the same general area as Trio cafe on Avenida Lincoln. I like Monte Christo on sunday nights. they have a band playing American rock and roll. their guitar player is originally from jersey, but has been in the DR a long time.
You always mention chi chi bar, but nobody I know in SD has ever heard of it. the closest I can figure out is it is most likely in Los Minas which is on the other side of the bridge etc.
Can you get more specific with the location? I will check it out and post directions for the members here.

Hey all. I am going to DR (Santo Domingo) for Colombus Day weekend with a friend. We want to know what is the best hotel for our money to stay where we can get chicas to come over and or near chica houses. Any info is greatly appreciated. I speak spanish so I think I can handle my own once there, but I know they always try to rip americans off anyways. So my question is:
1) What is the standard rate in Pesos and $ for a night stay?
2) The same for chica houses.
3) Cab fare.

‘I’ll take the easy question, the Fx rate: us$ to pesos, as of yesterday’s close, the rate is 1 USD = 30.5 DOP’s; or 1 DOP = .0327 (3 cents). Denominations I remember handling mostly were p100 and p500, though many smaller, and larger, denom’s are used. Stay away from the p1000; looks just like the p100. I accidentally gave a cabby p1000 instead of the intended p100. Think of the p100 as $3, and the p500 as $15.
If you happen to be traveling with large US$ denominations, I strongly recommend that you put a mark on them individually. Counterfeiting is prevalent in DR and many merchants will take your perfectly “good” bill and swap it for a bogus bill then swear that you gave it to them.
A note regarding your comment, “… ripping-off Americans”; let’s not be so uncaring since life for the average Dominican vis-à-vis an average American is incomparable. I wouldn’t call it a “rip-off” since many Americans willingly overpay, from time-to-time, out of sensitivity for their plight. But, for the sake of us other mongers, please don’t overpay for the pussy – particularly, if the chicas don’t perform.
Regarding the prices of chicas, certainly others can make solid recommendations. However, since non-performance seems to be the only constant, I would suggest you try separating the ”house” cost from the “chica” cost as noted in my 14 September post. Let us know the reaction to this demand, perhaps we could then get more 'bang' for our bucks.

Good Advice Macgoo, I think we can all learn from your experiences in the DR. However, I would refrain from marking US currency and I would never even think about marking Dominican currency. The Dominican government recently recalled all old and mutilated/marked bills and issued new money with the caveat that marked money is worthless. Because this new idea is engrained in the Dominican mindset, you would find it extremely difficult to find someone to accept money from any country after it has been marked.

Many cheap places to stay in SD. Currently changing rates are about 32RD to 1US dollar the other day, there can be no exact exchange rate because there can be a 2 pesos difference within the same city at various hours and locations, always changing, I have seen the dollar drop/gain at the same place 3 or 4 pesos in a matter of hours. Website rates are international buying/selling rates and are always a little bit off, generally rates are higher than the posted internet rates. A better depiction is to use www.oanda.com, choose full currency convertor and choose cash rate 4 percent, is generally more accurate of the exchange.
Places to stay, I listed several cheap ones on *******'s yahoo group "in search of chicas" for Santo Domingo. I will just list a few here, Hotel Naco, El Palacio are a few hotels that are under 60US a night. Even Mona Lisa spa has rooms upstairs in next floor that most people don't know about that are very nice and for a double room are about 25US dollars. A/c, tele, tv. There are just so many and if you want more info check out jdr's yahoo group and do a search.
Prices for sex:
They vary so much. In Santo Domingo I almost always get amateurs. I am young, nice looking, halfway fluent in Spanish so I have no problems picking up young women at normal bars, at the Acropolis(mall), Plaza Central(shopping center), just walking around el calle de conde(blocks of shopping in the colonial zone). YMMV. I also have met them online at a friends site and generally have a nice gfe and then great sex. Prices for workers are generally, with negotiation, they will always quote higher: shoot for 600RD for 1.5-2hours during day, no more than 1000RD for an overnighter. Better to get normal girls, dance and buy drinks for her and in morning give her a few hundred pesos but if normal girl -don't ask about prices for sex because you will have blown your chance, my experience on that. Spas and places like Remington's, I don't think it is open now, for overnight are like 2500RD according to others, but that is not a budget way to go. In colonial zone at night, are sw's that are reasonable by park. Also some by Malecon usually near the main hotels and are a little more expensive than those from the colonial zone. Some are very nice. Also could go to Jaragua hotel to Casino or Bar there and you will spot working girls. Had a few friends get very beautiful women there for all night recently for 1500RD. My 2 cents.
Don't mark your bills is good advice and always pay in Pesos. Even if they quote in dollars, counter back in how much you want to pay in Pesos.

I don't know how long you are staying but I think you have 4 ways to go. I haven't been to DR in 4 months and there has been plenty of devaluation so I can't quote prices. But, I think it would be better to negotiate in Peso than dollars.
1. My recomendation is to just hang out in the meringue bar at the Jaragua. It's safe, your near the tourist hotels, if there are problems, you can run to the staff. This would be fine if your visit is short. If you are on the Malicon there are two other options within walking distance, Lapus and Taboo, slightly more risky because they are not in a tourist hotel but close enough that if you feel uncomfortable you can get back to a tourist hotel easily.
2. There are plenty of bilingual touts on the street. Most are taxi drivers. Get names of places (Casa de modelos, Remington, etc.) from this forum and seem like you are at least informed. Service may cost you a little more because this guy gets a commission from the house.
3. There seems to be a guy here who has mixed review. Mr Particular. It might be worth a try. His cost is reasonable.
My two cents, not knowing how adventurous you are but these are safe routes.

Recent trip report.
I was in Santo Domingo about a month ago. Not there specifically for the chicas, but I did get some entertainment in.
I went to: Remington Palace, Casa Modelos, Casa Teresa, Casa Rosada, and the Jaragua.
The Merengue bar in the Jaragua is well known, but my reccomendation is to go their strictly for the music. The drinks are way overpriced- come on, 90 pesos for a beer??? and the chicas are mainly chunky and past their prime. And I bet are asking for a $100 US.
I found the best place to be Casa Modelos. I think I remember taking one girl away for about 1800 pesos. Not sure, there were 3 or 4 drinks involved too. Anyway, I thought the girls to be the best looking there. But you do have to be careful, some have good attitudes, some don't.
I also like Casa Teresa, mainly cuz they have a nice bar and excellent music and some good looking girls. Some nights it was packed, so the girls were very busy. They have rooms upstairs, you can go their for about 1800 pesos (I can't remember exactly!) or take them away for the night for about 3000+ (I never tried that option).
Remington Palace has gone downhill. They were closed for a few months apparently, saying they were undergoing remodeling. Well, I didn't see any difference whatsoever, except they had maybe a third of the amount of chicas than they used to. It was funny, I went there and left, and then went to Casa Teresa where I could hardly find a seat.
I went once to Casa Rosada, I would pass on that one in the future. Maybe once it had a good name, I don't know, but it is past it's prime now. Mainly plain chicas. Fit only to go with friends to tie one on.
Couple nice little bars in the Zona Colonial. Cafe de Toi and the Karamba Bar. Not chica bars, although there was one very hot number around one night, but she only walked in and then walked out. But good places to go for drinks and entertainment if you are not mongering.

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your help and valuable info. :)
Santo Domingo is heaven! 90 degrees weather, Sunshine, hot women, cheap drinks, etc.
A few things to avoid!
1., Before taking a taxi, ask him. "How much,...Pesos?"
These mofos will ask you to pay in dollars. DO NOT! Never, EVER pay more than 100 pesos for any destination within the city (places that take no longer than 10 minutes).
2., Do not take a taxi when going to a place for sex.
I took a cab to Remington Palace. The guy came in with me, and he didn't leave. The manager at the place told me that cab driver wants a commission for his services (he said that he also has to pay a small fee to him). The manager told me not to take a taxi to any place for sex.
Anyway, Remington Palace was so-so! There were around 25 girls and they ranged from a 6-8. I took a girl home for 1800 pesos. Before we checked into the hotel, she needed to show I.D. at the front desk. They made a copy of her I.D. and they told me to print my name and sign some paper. We f*cked three times and she left at 7a.m. She wanted money for a cab so I gave her 300 pesos as a tip. She did not french kiss. But it was a great experience.
One place I enjoyed most was Pisne. Their number is 809-682-5950. All the girls french kiss and do everything else except an*l. Short time is 2000 pesos (for two hours) including drinks. But it is well worth it! The girls are young, pretty, and damn sexy! :)
Again, I strongly recommend not taking a cab to such a place. I just walked.
There were a lot of chicas at the casinos. I met one girl who asked for 800 pesos for a short time (an hour and a half).
I plan to go again in January. I hope to meet some of you there.

If you want DR women, go to the DR. It would be stupid to go to the DR for east European women. I don't know of the resort but for a total of 45US or less, I can have two women in the DR. One for a couple of hours during the day and one for all night.
There have been reports of european workers in the DR but as in Mexico City, the prices are astronomical. A friend of mine told me that in BC for a short time was a small place that had a couple of European women and it was like 100US for a quick lay with them and they were average. 8000US for 4 days, I could take a trip to the DR and monger my heart for at least 6 weeks paying my type of prices, what a dumbass. I am not flaming you downunder, I am confused about your post, but if you seek european women I think the best place to head to is Eastern Europe/Europe (Czech Rep, Hungary, former USSR states, etc)

1. Infrequent fliers who are genuinely happy just to have made the trip and who are happy to be at their destination.
2. Thanks to Jesus, Allah or whoever for seeing them to the place of safety.
3. First-time fliers, who join in, and repeat this on future flights.
Doing a fair amount of air travel in the US and abroad, I find this happens most often on vacation destinations, and only on the outgoing flight!
You don't experience this kind of behavior on the return, and I have never seen it happen on any USCity to USCity flight.
If anyone else has opinions on this bizarre subject, please let us know.

I mention DR because of the it's close proxsimitiy to where I live and it's inexpensive cost. For example a quick charter flight and a all-inculsive for a week goes for about $399 US, which alot cheaper and quicker then heading oversea's for me currently.

I don't know where you can get a flight/hotel package for 400US for a week but if you can, take that deal. I hate AI's but you can always rent a cheap hotel room and split your time between both places. I am curious though: where are you located at to get that type of deal and if you don't mind me asking what website/agent can get you that good of a deal.
I am dumbfounded that it can be so cheap like that. For a week from the US, a package would cost me over 1500US for a week because I would have to pay the single supplement. Come on down to the DR, there are light skinned women here as well, you just have to look a little harder.
The going rate for a direct charter, last minute deal (all inclusive) from Toronto, where I live is about $600-$700 Canadian currently. The single suppliement is extra and the prices will rise closer to Christmas and in Jan but now is off season. I use www.sunholidays.ca - they got the best prices

I booked on AA staying in Sosua for a few days before Easter. I also read on Lonely Planet’s site it’s Holy Week in Sosua. They claim there are much fun and games during this time. Can any of you more experienced members care to remark on that.

Hotel Naco is far from the massage places. It is closer to Casa teresa but I wouldn't call it walking distance. Is the Palacio in the zona colonial? If so you can walk to most daytime massage places but not the night time places such as teresa and modelos.
Actually you could walk to Modelos and remington but it would be a long walk.
When are you arriving? I get into town on december 17th.

I recommend Hotel El Palacio and the Mercure Hotel which are in the Colonial Zone, actually the Mercure is right in the zone, and the Palacio is about a 1/2 block above the colonial zone. Can find women at night/during the evening at the park. It is the parque independencia. There is also a cheap hotel right near the park, which has rooms for short time rates or daily rates, I never have used it but I have heard it is cheap. It is called Hotel Independencia. Mercure and El Palacio are nice places to stay, have stayed at both, and have stayed at the Napolitano on the Malecon. But Palacio and Mercure will probably set you back about 60US a night. Negotiate when you call or just stay there one night, and look for a cheaper hotel. There are numerous guesthouses/small hotels in(around) the Colonial zone that are usually under 25US a night, normally around 20 dollars, some as cheap as 15 dollars.
You can walk almost anywhere in the Colonial Zone as long as you keep your bearings on a few street names and landmarks and if you get lost, ask any taxi to take you back to el centro del conde or parque independencia, from there you can always find out where to go. I have done that wandering around after having a few too many and losing my bearings:) Taxis are cheap and never pay more than 100RD for any distance under a few kilometers, most places in an area will cost about 80RD. I walk most of the time in Santo Domingo and take taxis when I am with a woman and want to go back to hotel, tired of walking, a little intoxicated, or too far of a distance, etc. For the Remington Palace from Colonial Zone is too far too walk.

Easter Sunday you probably won't be able to find much pro action. Many places are shut down and even working girls spend time with their families. This is also when many dominicans living in other countries come to visit their families, or the stupid gringos(novios) visit their girlfriend who usually has been playing them, I have been with several women who have had one or two western union johns sending them money. But action is still to be found, so don't worry, but Easter Sunday is almost nonexistent action during Holy week, less action but still there. I am using the south coast as my experience and I am sure the north coast would be similar.

Once you are there you have the Jaragua, Casa de Modelos, Remington are all near there.
Naco is guest friendly.

He said some guy had been around asking questions but he had never said Mr. Particular was guilty of any scurrilous activities there. He did not know the name Wolverine anyway. I have spent about a month total time at their bar in 4 of my trips. They know me, my Dominican son and his mom as well, but don't try implying that I do not know them, or them me, or made a story up. I still stick by my conversation that I had with them and maybe was a misunderstanding but I made it clear that someone called Mr. Particular said he stopped by there regularly and picked up clients, they denied this. I have been to the DR about 50 time sand have lived there for over a year.
Taxi drivers, touts and yes mrparticular all get a cut. The women are underpaid, that is why the cut does not come out of their portion of a servicio but is tacked onto the bill. I spoke to management at a bunch of massage places and they ALL offered my buddy the taxi driver a commision. ALL of them. One guy, said he gets 1800 pesos for "completo" and anything my buddy can get the client to pay over that is his to keep.
I have met some WSG members, and showed more than a few gringos around. I don't really monger any more but know SD pretty damn well. You OTOH have one post to your name and are most likely Mrparticular with a new handle. Am I close Greg?

I just checked the currency conversion and was shocked to see that its about 40 pesos/$. Thats double the rate I got from a year and a half ago. In general, have the establishments taken the rate change into consideration by doubling their prices to compensate? Otherwise the 1900 pesos I spent at Remingtons last year would now be a $48 evening.

Mister_Smooth. I am not sure which Parque you are talking about? There are a tone of parques. For meeting non pros, hanging out on el conde at one of the cafes is always fun. Lots of girls make eye contact and flirt etc.
Heck girls flirt in a lot of places. Any
waitress or barmaid might be worth the effort as far as flirting goes.
For regular clubs, there are a ton of them. In the tourist areas the girls are more used to meeting gringos etc. Places like Jubilee, Trio Cafe, etc etc etc are OK, but it is not a slam dunk.
I prefer the more "local" places. there are a ton of these on the other side of the bridge. Avenida Venezuela is cool. You can take a cab, and just walk from place to place. Eclipse is more upscale, and there are places like Latinos that you should give a shot.
Also on San Vincente De Paul there are some clubs. Fortuna Car Wash is real local, Classicos, La Torre is for serious dancing salsa etc.
How long are you staying? I get into town on the 17th with a buddy of mine. Another guy is coming in on the 18th. We'll most likely head to some clubs at some point!

I too recommend the Palacio as mentioned in an earlier post, though erroneously called the Colonial zone “Congreso”.
Great tip! Wish I had asked you before my trip, so I found out the hard way, yet without incident. To those considering this area, you cannot emphasize enough: how easy it is to loose your bearings. As you suggested, I lucked out by writing down the name of streets, hotel address, ect. While walking, I often got lost in the Colonial zone – without the aid of alcohol.
Once there, you will find plenty of good restaurants and loads of local chics. Well worth it!

I'm glad you are liking santo domingo! Stay down for the holidays! You'll love it! I'll be there on the 17th and staying for 3 weeks, maybe more if work schedule allows it etc.
Ruslove, I will be in Santo Domingo from the 17th till early january. I will probably spend the 24th and 25th in Boca with my novia and a bunch of friends etc.
As for MPs in santo domingo that is a tough question! The "hot" one changes on an almost weekly basis. Back in September I'd say Mona Lisa had the advantage, last trip they seemed kind of slow. Of course that could have changed already.
Elegant Center had reopened under new ownership and seemed to have the most women, but that is usual for a "new" place. With MPs in SD you can't really go wrong as many are in the same basic area.
Elegant center and Cisney are maybe 3 doors from each other on Pasteur. Walk one block north, make a right and walk 2 blocks to Danae on the left side. Walk up Danae and hit Mona Lisa's on the right. They now have a hotel on the second floor etc and a sign so it is easier to find.
From Mona lisas you can also walk to Spa Michelle, Suenos Real, and 52.
There is one other place withing walking distance that is behind the TV station near parque independencia.
That is 7 places in walking distance. There are a few more MPs on that side of the bridge. geisha paradies is a cab ride as it is on the west side of town as is the Penthouse and Shalimar. There is a bargain basement place called in Naco that rarely has more than 2 girls. They do have "sencillos" for 400 pesos though!
On the other side of the bridge there is La Sama which rarely has many attractive women, D Blanca that had a few cuties but on last trip seemed dead. Fuentes del mano is OK over off of sabana larga. Joanna who used to manage Michelle now has a new place in Franconia. I haven't checked it out yet, but heard it is cool.
On the way to SD you can stop at Paco's. They are on the right hand side of las americas right behind the overpass that comes from the airport. heck depending on when you get in, you might stop there right from the aiport etc.
Gpiper? You are a long island boy? I lived there for over 30 years and am actually staying there now, until I head back to santo domingo. If you dig the Dominican flavor you should check out some of the bars in hempstead. Nor really pay for play etc. Just waitresses that will dance, flirt, try and get you to buy them drinks etc. If you can rap in spanish, you could most likely hook up.

Ocho Puertas is a cool place that attracts a younger crowd. They have everything from techno DJs to rock bands. I saw one group doing decent Pearl Jam etc!
POP is right off of el conde on Noel and is basically a dance club etc.
Bachata Rosa is owned by famous singer Juan Luis Guerra and is a cool place.
There are a bunch more, but I never remember the names!
How is the action during the holiday season? I plan on spending a week there from Dec 21 onward.

Brief Report:
Day 1: Stop over at Elegant Ctr immediately after arrival. Found a decent 21 yr. old to clean the pipes. I would say about an 8 but better than avg service and very friendly. 2500 pesos. about $70. There were a couple of 9's there but they seemed a bit standoffish.
Day 2:
Prtyr2, thanks again for recommending Avenida Venezuela. The consensus here seems to be use Pros as a backup only and I cant agree more. I befriended a couple local dudes (I use the term "friend" loosely, I was paying the whole time), and told them I wanted to try AVe. Venezuela. They completely agreed to the plan. After a couple beers at one disco we went to Latinos. Now granted at this point I was hammered from partying all day and wanted to meet this one girl so bad I figured out how to ask her to dance. If you couldve seen yours truly strutting his stuff on the dance floor . The girl was very friendly and after a few rounds i got her number. She was not willing to go to my hotel.
Day 3:
I called the girl and she came over to my hotel and I took her right up to the room and holy &^^$! She blew me away. Our experience together made the trip worthwhile for me, because NP's and the GFE are better in a lot of ways. I took her out to dinner and she had never been to a restaurant like this (Coco's) before. I had my translation book out for our conversation. What a trip. This girl really fell for me.

If there is a barfine for a girl at a club, you will have to pay the fine to the place and then all ready have negotiations with the girl at a certain price so that when you get to the hotel room, you won't be slammed with outrageous demands of money. With club girls you almost always have to pay up front. I have only dealt with this once in the DR, where girls have fines so maybe someone else could post their experiences on that matter. I am using what I have read and talked to others of as well besides my one experience with these type of girls.
Most of the DR workers are free lancers and work the beach, certain bars, and the street. I never pay total price up front anymore, made that mistake a few times. I have it worked out for a low price and good tip depending on service and make sure the girl understands the arrangement. So I will either pay nothing up front and will pay at the completion of service on an agreed price, or partial payment and upon completion and quality of service the tip I deem appropriate as well. If you get a girl to the room and she is demanding extra money and has an attitude, you probably aren't going to have the best time because you are getting frustrated and she is being difficult and not caring about any type of quality service, so just give a small tip and tell her to leave.

There are many options in the colonial zone for lodging. Almost every place in the DR are girl friendly, those that aren't are usually the AI's. In/near the colonial zone: Palacio and Mercure are good but around 65US a night, gf. There are small hotels/guesthouses are in the colonial zone and generally around 15-30us a night, many are gf, just ask.
There is NO PUBLIC BEACH in Santo Domingo. You will have to go to Juan Dolio or Boca Chica for the beach. Parts of Santo Domingo are on the edge of the water, and the main area where most of the big hotels are is El Malecon and the only thing there are normal people hanging out, vendors, some freelancers, etc. Not too far from the Colonial Zone but a long walk and a good view of the ocean but no swimming or bathing suits in sight. You might want to check out Boca Chica for a place to stay with a beach, if you have any questions, email/pm me and I will answer to the best of my knowledge specific questions concerning the southern part of the Dominican Republic.

I went to Ave. Venezuela where there are about 4 or 5 discos. This is a very 'local' place where most tourists do not go. I went with some local Dominicans and they showed me the way. Its probably best not to go by yourself but it would probably be ok if you are fluent. Now, because this is not a tourist joint there were no pros around as far as i could tell. Basically I started talking to one girl got her number and then she spent the better part of the next couple of days in my hotel room. I would say she was about a 7, so not bad for a freeby. I went to MonaLisas on Calle Davae near the Malecon for an awesome massage on the last day.

Now I Know why a lot of people says Pisne. Cisne is swam in English and the place has a swam logo in front. I visited the place once and it was like a beauty parlor in front and a massage parlor in back. There were nice girls but at that time was more expensive than the other massage parlors nearby.

Haven't posted much here. The 24-48 hour delay thing kinda deters me, but I understand the reasoning for it. Either way, I need some advice on lodging.
I'm headed down to DR for the 1st time on Friday, but have not booked my hotel yet. I will be staying in Santo Domongo on Fri. 1/16, but headed to Sosua the following day.
Can anyone help me out in finding a reasonable ($40-60), GF hotel in Zona Colonial? I do not need anything extravagent. Just a bed big enough to fit 2-3 people, AC, a working safe, and clean sheets and towels. It just needs to be near or in Zona Colonial as I plan to venture on foot during the day, and by cab at nite.
I've looked online and see the gringo prices being charged. But like Brazil, I'm sure more reasonable accomodations are available on the ground. Can anyone recommend somewhere? Also, should I book online, or show up at the hotel and try to negotiate down there?
If anyone will be in SD on Fri. 1/16, please PM me and we can meet up for drinks. I'm an adventurer, willing to do it alone, but always open to meeting new friends.

On the Malecon:
Intercontinental V Centinario: Was chica friendly. Don't know if things changed. You may have just met up with a guard/bellman looking for a propina. But, the girls normally know it is chica friendly. The food is better than average. Like the restaurant in the basement. Has a low end version of a brazillian rodizio. Has a casino. I think I paid $125/night off season.
Melia: Not Chica friendly. Got lucky with one pick up from the meringue bar in the Jaragua. She was well dressed and we spent time in the bar or the Melia. When the security left his position we went up the elevators. Otherwise, it is a no go. Food is excellent. Has a Casino. $148/night off season
Jaragua: Not Chica friendly. Good bar to monger but you have to sort through the ugly girls, kinda of depends upon the night also. Good food. Casino. Forget the cost but more than Melia and V.
Other malecon options that I haven't tried but are chica friendly, the Mercure and the Napilatano (sp?).

Embajador: I stay here now. Normally get an automatic upgrade to the executive floor. Good room. Great food. Good food in walking distance. Casino. Chica friendly but with a $15 guest fee. (Cheaper than a good Cabana.) About $100/night. $10 R/T to mongering destinations.

There are about 8 to 10 hotels right by El Conde in La Zona Colonial that all average about $50 - $75/ night. Mercure, Penalba, Palacio and Nicolas Nader are all pretty good and more laid back about guests. Just try to get to know the night manager, buy him/her a drink and smile a lot. Ive gotten to know a Night Mgr at one of those hotels and he loves it when I come down. He'll invite his friends over and we hang out and party right in the lobby. There are rooms there, but did not view them . Take out is available for 1,500 pesos. Charlotte (an 8.5) is the hottest girl there. But she is also a cockteasing *****! The rest rate 5-7. Manuel Abreu is the little seedy aggressive Administrator who will try to wisk you off the street into his place. Don't recommend.
Rincon Boriqua Bar: Between the Malecon and Indepencia, across from La Isla Gas station right by a casino. They are all 500 peso 1- hr. to all nite fs outcall hookers here! The best recommendation I have seen have been for the Mercure or the Napolitano. Havn't personally stayed in either but have seen good things written about them.
I stay off the Malecon. Cheaper and just as nice. Taxis are relatively cheap and safe.

Delta Plans Big JFK Expansion:
As part of the plan, Delta said it will begin new service from JFK to Denver; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic and San Diego. Those new services will begin in April, May and June. The airline said more changes planned for after September will be announced later this year.
You guys might not know about this:
There´s some motels by km 12.
They cost under 500 pesos for 4 hours, and you can just drive right into them.
Grab a cab and tell them to take you to the cabanas. They pull into a car port, then you get out, they drive out.
That way you can stay in your nice hotel and not worry about wether the girl is a thief or if the hotels allow them in.
Also you could always just rent a car and use the cabanas even when not with someone. Just pay a little more for the whole night.

I picked up the paper today and to my surprise I read an article about a Santo Domingo Police Officer discharging his weapon into a crowd to disperse demonstrators yesterday (Wednesday January 28).

Right now most places are charging $2000 pesos. The independants are asking $1100 to $1500 unless you go for the street walkers which are asking for $500 to $800.
The exchange ratio is like $1usd to $50 pesos.
And I do recomend de Cabañas. From Remington to them the cabs cost about $200 pesos, unless you make an arrangement with a cabbie to tour you around.
Also there's Denoche right behind Reminngton. Facing the ocean.
That´s where the independants tend to hang out. Some are decent looking.
I won't rate by numbers because everyone has different tastes.
And yes I do speak perfect Spanish. I should I went to school in DR fr a few years. Anyone in the capital who would like to take a tour of a few places?

For a second day there is unrest in SD - 4 people killed, everything is shut down, people fleeing on boats to Puerto Rico.
I had a flight on 1/29 for SD from San Juan and was lucky to be told by the cab driver on the way to the airport what is going on.

It was a two day general strike, not a riot. Things should be back to normal , ie the usual power outages , and bad traffic. There was some talk about more planning for strikes, but the gente can't afford to do that too often.
Everything is back to normal.
This was an organized strike and few casualties.
Eight dead and like 39 wounded in 2 days.
But everything is back to normal.
Dollar is up to 54.25 as of this morning.
Gas is up to $99.15.
The brothels are still charging $2000 on average.
The independents want about 1500 for the whole night.

I thought most of the violence was north of SD, ie Santiago, and further, and not in the capitol. I'm not minimizing that at all, but the dollar /peso has been very fluid for a while now, and petrol is no bargain here in the states right now either. Was just saying that visitors are not flying into Beirut.

The dollar has been going up and down like crazy because the FMI has been demanding the peso be put at $40 pesos to $1 dollar for them to give them government more money.
The government can not force the dollar down fast enough because it´s an unpopular government.
People do not trust them and therefore put all their savings into dollars. Which makes the dollar even more scarcer. Add to that higher demand because of higher demand for hydrocarburates and you have the dollar going up.
I expect it to hit $60 by the end of this week.
The gas went up to $105 pesos per gallon already.

I am a newbie to the DR and I plan on spending three nights in Santo Domingo starting on March 4. I would like some recommendations on reasonalby priced (under $70 per night) hotels that would allow me to bring back girl(s) to the room without a hassle or significant cost. I am interested in staying near the colonial city, since I would like to see some of the city sights.
I would also like some recommendations on dance clubs/bars/etc where I can meet some chicas (not necesarily working girls). My preference would be non-working gilrs but I do not want to limit myself. Also, any recommendations on massage parlors near the colonial city that are good.
I am considering taking a day trip or two to Boca Chica for some fun and would consider staying a night. So any recommendations of reasonably priced places to stay in Boca Chica would also be appreciated. From reading the post here, it sounds as if most of the women in Boca Chica after dark are working girls and it would be tough to meet a non-working girl for fun. Let me know if any thoughts othewise.

It is cheaper than stay in Mercure or Napolitano and we had the car with us every time we need.
The dollar has gone down due to "stand-By" agreement between DR govenrment and the FMI.
But that won't last long and the dollar will jump back up to 60 by the end of the month.
Haven't been mongering lately. If I spend more than 3 weeks in DR I switch from the pros to the non pros who just like to fuck.
If I flew more often to DR than once a yar. I wouldn´t waste the money going to the brothels or to the pro's.

Price: 750 pesos per day, 5,075 per week, 18,000 for 30 days! These prices were good as of 1/04. Cold air, queen sized bed, maid service, and satellite tv included. You can upgrade to a room with 2 twin size beds for free! Also, girl friendly, even though there's a small sign to the contrary by the front desk. I was there for about 6 weeks and was never questioned about the 30+ women that came by! There are 2 buildings; for more privacy request the one without the front desk check-in. There's a cheap well stocked deli next door to the hotel, a good italian restaurant named La Lasagna around the corner, just past Empare Dado, a 24 hr. sandwich shoppe with hot dog vendor out front. Across from that is a Chinese restaurant and a place called Euro Car rental. Don't know their prices. Ian's Bar& Rest. is right on the corner of Fantino Falco and Augustin Lara. It has good american music, cold air , good food and drinks. But it's a bit pricey for Santo Domingo. I did take quite a few 'hot' dates here 1st before inviting them up to my room at the Drake! All these places are less than 1 minute walking distance from the hotel!

I also called and got the same info. THe hotel is about 35 to 40 minutes from airport on the west side of Santo Domingo. Take left on Avendidia Las Americas from airport after you go over the bridge it becomes Avedida 27 De Febrero. Saty on that street until Avendida Abraham Lincoln then take a left. Take a left on Avendida Gustavo Mejia Ricart and a left on Agustin Lara.

Just came back from 9 days in the RD, and went into Santo Domingo for my first time. Took a car in the afternoon with a friend to Av Pasteur off Av Independence (I believe) and on the right there were three massage houses, all of which looked like American beauty salons from the outside. No signs, nada. My buddy ducked into one, but came out quickly citing the lack of any lookers.
So we walked two doors down to a white building,and went inside, and immediately the "line up"started. 10 girls came out for your selection. I will say that 3 were absolutely hot, and the others warm.

Yep pre paid calling cards are the way to go. I use Nobelcom all the time. Good rates and most of all NO connect fee. Some cards you buy in convenience stores have great rates but connect fees can be up to 2 bucks! So if you call and her cell drops the call. . . . 2 bucks. That happens a few times and you eat up the entire value of the card without really talking.

The 809 area code is for parts of the caribbean, DR is among the countries on that exchange. You dial just as if you were in the US. It's not a problem. The same for the 876 area exchange (Jamaica) as well. There is no need to dial 011 or any other country code when dialing from the US.

First of all I would like to thank all the past reviews of Santo Domingo, they were the best guide to get immediately hooked up in a flawless way.
I can only contribute partially in updating the suggestions:
A) The infamous famous ‘Casa Rosada’ is not longer ‘rosada’ they painted it blue and now is the ‘Casa Azul’ –Paraguay #230-. For RD 2300 you get an hour and a half of a work out body that you see in the magazines.
I arranged to make the performance in one of the rooms at la casa with senorita celeste, if you treat her well, you have a virtual Dominican girlfriend-5622010-
B) If you had a heavy day, a massage at the ‘52’ –a couple of blocks into the city from the jaragua hotel- can do the damage repair. A darker young mulata can awake the acting ‘Tigre’ in you. For 50 usd you get a bj without, rubbing massage and deep penetration, if you offer 50% more to her directly, you can become a customs officer and perform a full cavity search.
C) Another classic: ‘Casa de Modelos’ here you only have the take out option. Ask your driver to be taken to a nice cabana. Just got back from SD about a week ago. Stayed at Inter-Continental V Centenaurio for 4 nights. Booked through InterContinental's website for $99 per night including an upgrade to a suite (rooms on top 3 floors with balconies). Very nice. It did not look very chica-friendly, but I had no problems bringing 2 chicas on different nights. Also, my original reservation was for 2 people since it was the same price, although security never asked anything. As long as your chica does not look like a puta off the street the hotel will be cool with it.
I'm planning to go back for the first 2 weeks of April but don't want to spend $100/nt for hotels. Can anyone recommend any decent cheaper hotels near the Malecon? Under $50 would be ideal. There are a bunch of smaller hotels on Independencia one block north of Washington and many other on the streets in between. Anyone stayed at these and how much?

Hello everyone,
I am a relatively experienced Thailand monger. I have also had some street action in NYC but that has been in the past before Thailand. I am wanting to go to the DR but speak no freakin Spanish. I mean NADA. Well ok. I am decent in Thai and speak great English though. Haha. I guess my question is would anyone care to show a newbie to the DR around? Not a tour guide but just someone going solo and can tolerate a running mate experienced in the game but not in Spanish. First beers on me. I won't slow you up if you take me under your wing (had that happen to me in Thailand and it was not funny running with cats not experienced in the P4P game), believe me I know how the game works. I will be there most likely between March 19th returning on the 25th. Like I said I am a pretty hardcore monger, look for the best girl, cheapest prices (food, hotel etc.) and don't take no shit off a working girl but treat em like gold as long as they treat me the same. I go to Thailand because I am sick of the American woman attitude and I figured out I like 90 degrees more than 9. N-E way:
Sounds like Santo Domingo has the most happening but would a newbie with no Spanish be better in Sosua or maybe Boca Chica? I am so wet behind the ears on this it aint even funny.
I would also like to know with such a close time frame is expedia, travelocity or yahoo the best for cheap air tickets, or maybe a travel agent, any good ones in NYC?
How does a budget of 100 per day sound excluding hotel (but figuring hotel to be around $30 tops, member I am frugal).
I am 6'3" 220 lbs. light skinned black guy well educated in the street and in the books (just so you know who and what you will be potentially hanging with).
Any replies would be much appreciated and thanks all for the info already on this forum.

I was just like you. A thai vet and then I went to the DR. Thailand has a little better scene but DR is a 3 hour plane ride. An even trade in my opinion. I now go to the DR and other locals about 4 times a year. You do not have to speak spanish to have a great time in Santo Domingo (because I do not) but it will help. Just read the recent reports and get the names of the places get there and find a cab. $30 a night for a room is below what I always pay. If you would like anymore info pm me.

I just wanted to check in with the more experienced mongers of Santo Domingo about hotel napolitano. This is a chica friendly hotel, right? If any veterans are around on the 25th I would be happy to hang and have a few shots of Brugal.
Travel Fox: Wish I was going there next week to help show you around! But I'm not planning a return trip for a while. IMHO, a 1st timer without any friends or fellow mongers to hook up with, may be better off his 1st time in Sosua, on the North coast. I've been there and to Santo Domingo. SD is a lot crazier, wild, more dangerous, more ladrones (thieves), more beggers, more chicks, more *****houses, more variety, more options, and less boredom. But, I went by myself to both cities on separate trips, and knew newbody. That was especially difficult my 1st 2 weeks in SD. There always seems to me more mongers concentrated in a smaller area in Sosua. Mongers (5, 10, 15, 20 or more, most of whom are friendly), are always hangin' at the Palace and Hotel Europa, one block from each other. All of your sex action plans can be concentrated into 1 small 2 square mile radius! Everything is quick and easy to get to. Caberete, a beautiful, tranquil beach area is only 20 minutes away! Puerto Plata, where the airport is located, is just 15 minutes away from Soaua. There's more to do there than in Sosua, plus there's nary a beggar there, unlike Sosua and SD. Plus, Santiago, is a relatively safe and serene city, sans the beggars, is a great place to bring a girl or meet a girl, and is less than 1 hour away from Sosua, and also has an airport. On my trip to SD in the South coast, I met only 3 mongers in 6 weeks! Each place I had a blast. But with the concerns you seem to have, Sosua's your best bet for a 1st trip. You can also scroll back on all the DR for invaluable info from fellow mongers that will help your trip wherever it may be, go a little smoother. BTW, I find that usually the cheapest flites are into Santiago. Good Luck, enjoy, and please post all about your trip for the team!

I already bought my ticket and with the time frame I had the SD flight turned out to be the cheapest. AA $450 after taxes. I may do the bus to Santiago or Sosua but chances are I will be in Boca Chica and try my luck there. I hear it is over rated now but for a first timer it will still be paradise to me. It will be so much better traveling 4 hours instead of 24 on that freakin plane to Asia! I guess my Thai experience, my street sense and the fact that I am black and may be even mistaken for Dominican (until I open my mouth, haha) will be on my side but I will still be a bit nervous till I survey the scene. I will try to take your advice as much I can and I will post a report when I get back. I will try to snap some pix also but cannot promise what I will come up on when I get there you know? A decent hotel near all the action is Hotel Casona Dorada. It is on Independencia. Walking distance to the Malecon, Zona Colonial, major casinos such as Juragua, Intercontinental and Melia as well as Napolitano, it is also smack in the middle of all the daytime MPs. There are about 6 in walking distance, with the closest being Mona Lisa.
They have a pool, a restaurant a bar and the cost is anywhere from 30-50 per night.
Around the corner there are even cheaper places. Guest houses that cost from 400-1000 pesos per night. There are 3 on calle danae.

I heard there's a lot of racism in the DR. Is this true? Or is it simply classism.
I've read on another site that many Black Americans were turned away from Casinos, Restaurants, ect., only to have White patrons accepted.
I MIGHT take a trip out in SD around mid April, but am not yet sure. Can anyone verify this.

Brotha natrue where did you hear this? I highly suspect that report because in the DR there are blacks native to the country, many in fact from what I have seen-read-heard! I have been to Asia where people told me there was racism (Thailand) and I was never treated with any disrespect except on occasion from the small pickup truck drivers (baht bus) and they are known to be very rude to everyone the minute their job is not easy or they ask for above normal prices and you refuse to be had. Had I listened to them I would have missed out on one of the greatest experiences of my life. Even if there is some of that going on (and it in fact MAY be true), by and large places that practice this are places that I would want to avoid for one reason or another anyway. Don't let heresay deter you from traveling. I remember they were turning black people away at Dennys in Florida right here in the good ol USA. Think about things like that "in the land of the free" and you will be surprised at what you can do without a second thought when it comes to visiting other places... So I guess you aint goin to Florida either huh? HAHA. Just to make you think about it a lil.

TravelFox is right on. You will have a great time there (RD, not FLA). There is a great mix of travellers, and the women are inviting, to say the least. There may be some classism evident, but it is the same anywhere one travels. If they think you might have money, you are their honey.
And I have made some great friends from all over the world in RD, from Belgium to Barbados. Go and enjoy!

Sorry if all I seem to do is ask questions but this will be my first trip to DR where I get to spend some quality time in Santo Domingo. Where should I exchange money so I get the best price. I hear all kinds of talk about this in Sousa but I never hear about this in S.D.

I have had pretty good luck and a pretty good exchange rate at the National bank booth right after you leave baggage claim at SDQ. The rate is normally right on. You might find a chica that has money and wants to speculate but normally they change the dollars right away.

Boca Chica is pretty hard core. You will get by cheaper than SD. 1 hotel suggestion is the Hotel Naco. Taxi it to the Malecon for 5 bucks or less. On the Malecon, it might be worth while the first day to use a tout. You will pay a commission when you do decided (hidden in the cost of the service) but you get the lay of the land. Or you can see GPipers report on January 11. It is pretty complete. Most of the houses have fixed pricing. For more adjustable pricing you can look to the Jaragua Merengue/casino bar. You will need to walk around and select what looks good. Some have said that most of the girls here are a few step down from the houses but I think that depends. Many are pretty war torn but some are also "not every day pros." You will find that there is more negotiation available here.

Travel Fox: I concur with Big Johnson concerning El Jaragua casino. When I was frequenting it last Nov.-Jan., prices ranged from 1,000 -4000 pesos for chicas. Quality ranged from 5-8.8. If you go there at least a few times, you're bound to find some lookers. I scooped up an awesome 8.8 (beautiful, short, tan brunette with a squeaky voice) on my 1st trip. We hung out there for over an hour after I sat down next to her by the slots. She actually gave me some money (no shit) to play the slots with her, then later asked to accompany me home. After an erotic-intensive multiple pop evening that was never quiet due to her constant screams and moans during sex; late the next next morning she asked me for a little help, so she could buy some nice clothes. I gave her 1,000 pesos. She invited me to her apt. a few weeks later, but I was in a zone boning 25+ women during my stay in SD that I never had time to see her again! I regret not hooking up with her again! She worked in a hair salon, so wasn't a regular pro, though I imagined she may engage in PFP at times. BTW, the other 10 times or so I went back to the Jaragua, I never saw her there again. As far as Boca Chica goes; I didn't like it there at all. It was dirty with lots of beggars. Nilsao and Palenque are nicer beaches, but with less hoes, and are a bit farther from SD.
