Things worsen there all main roads to Bogota blocked. Food prices record high since there is now new supply reaching town because of the farmers strikes.

I will be in Curaçao October 24-28. This will be my first trip. I am wanting to rent a vehicle, is this a wise choice are should I just use a cab? I want to visit Campo every day while there.

1. Are taxi's expensive? Am I better of renting a car? Will be staying 20 mins away from Campo in a resort. How about drunk driving issues?

Many thanks in advance.Definitely rent a car on Curacao. Taxis are expensive. A car gives you the freedom to explore the island (A drive to Westpunt is a nice day trip) or at least get out of the hotel for a few meals. A taxi from the Hilton / Marriott area to campo will be 15-20 each way and even more late at night. Add another $5 if you are in Otrabanda and $10 in Punda. A car will be $25-35 per day. Curacao has good roads and decent drivers so it is very easy to get around on your own. The rental counters will all have good maps for you.
I've heard rumors about street action downtown but I usually stay in Otrabanda and walk around there and Punda quite a bit in the evenings. I have never found any action. The only other decent action is Havana Viega, across from Denny's. It is a strip club with take-home available but not the best quality girls. If you search back, especially in the Reports of Distinction, there are a few more local places but they are hard to find. Or at least I've never found them.
Campo is the best on the island and in some opinions, the best in this hemisphere. It is a safe and pleasant place to spend an evening. It is the only mongering destination that I have been to where I feel secure and comfortable enough to really relax.

So I just finished my weekend of debauchery at Campo Alegre. So many many attractive chicas to be had. I was like a kid in a candy store, the spirit was willing, but my wallet and body weren't. SO here is a quick run down of what I saw experienced this weekend. #1 Definitely avoid going to Campo on Saturday night, but if you do go get there early. The place gets flooded with locals who bog down the chicas and makes it difficult to engage the ones you want. I went twice a day. Search for large green leaf (Campo sign) sometimes at night it`s not lit. First time best drive during the day. Roads are OK, can be slippery after rain. And have fun!

Campo is the best (and IMHO great idea) : large tropical open air brothel, small bar, large strip bar, restaurant, restrooms, small store even doctor office. Local politicians and administration from Netherlands want to have regulated prostitution in one place. Outside Campo prostitution may be illegal and dangerous. After drinking beer drive slowly with caution. After rain road can be slippery. Have fun!

I found Campo to be an unique mongering experience. I liked the relaxed and secure environment. Wished they had a little bit more fiesta / party at night. There were only a few stage shows that were sporadic, starts and stops frequently, even on weekends. It could be dead during the daytime, I hardly saw anyone out at 2pm on Sat, also it was super hot and humid. Some more started coming out at 4pm. Most of them are out and around by 11pm into the night. I was walking around during the day not sure if I could knock on the closed doors.
About the girls, majority Columbinas, some Dominicanas. All Dominicanas were sweet and nice. Columbinas, some were bitchy some were nice. Lot of hot ones to be had.
The greatest thing about Campo was the price. 30$ for 30 mins (and no one is clock watching or knocking on the door). Most take their time and make sure you leche. I took upto 60+ mins at times, no issues. Some of them try to jack up the price to $40 (LOL) but that is clearly a warning sign for what is to come. (I was paying 120+$ for the similar girls at Panama). One slight drawback can be these girls are resident at Campo. 3 months or so avg and could be and are likely seeing many many clients per day, so their kitties could be a little beat up.
I will be in Curaçao October 24-28 if anyone is down during that time lets hook up and Visit Campo.

After many trips to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and the Philippines, I'm heading off to Curacao this next week. This past January I was on a cruise that stopped in Curacao and I really liked Willimstad and the surrounding area (I found a great cab driver to show me the island). I read about the many coral reefs near the beaches and the readily available snorkeling sites. Since that is one of my favorite sports, I thought I needed to try this island out. I also found out about Campo Alegre and decided right then and there I had activies for the daytime (snorkeling) and other activities for the nightime (Campo Alegre). Since I like to cook my own lunches, I found a newly constructed one-bedroom apartment with views of the ocean, great pool, modern stainless steel appliances, nicely decorated, and half-way between downtown Willimstad and Campo Alegre. I found the apartment using www.curacao.com. Signed up for eight nights with pick-up at the airport and return provided by the car rental folks. The same apartment complex was connected with a fairly new car rental company who are extremely friendly, new Kia Picante and provide insurance for a great price. Beats using taxes and much less expensive. I'm bringing my own snorkeling equipment and have gathered information on some of the best places to snorkel. I always purchase a few kindle books to read next to the pool including a new travel guide that received high marks on Amazon,"Curacao Travel Adventures" by Lynne Sullivan. I'll use that as a guide for restaurants and places to visit / tour as well as a little history of the culture. Thanks to my newly minted membership here at ISG I am on the learning curve about Curacao and Campo Alegre. Including some recent recommendations. Fortunately, I speak Spanish decent enough for good conversations and will have no problem with any language barriers of the chicas from Colombia, DR or other Spanish speaking places.
As you can see, I believe in doing my homework and scaling down the learning curve of a new place. However, I am always open to advice and suggestions since I realize that every place is a little different about what works best. If anyone has any addtional ideas, suggestions and / or advice, bring it on. In appreciation to all the info others have provided here, I'll do a trip report and take some photos (yes, I know no cameras allowed at Campo Alegre) to share here.

You will have a great time there, MA. I was only in Curacao once about three years ago for a conference but fond memories of Happy Camp. Went there every day for five days and had a great time each time. Rented a car and saw many beaches, too. Willemstadt is fun, too, and good meals.
Just to let you know Curacao is nothing like DR or Philippines. Those are Meccas for mongering. But it is laid back and much more secure, relaxed and hassle free mongering. Nice beautiful resorts and beaches. The casinos are good too (in terms of BlackJack if you are a player). I read some reports about people not feeling safe, I did not feel that way. What I saw was the place is really devoid of people, there is very minimal traffic and people out at night. Driving rules are a little strange, esp. At the four way intersections which I did not completely figure out. Also you can get a Navigation system at the car rentals for $7 a day, there arent a whole lot of street signs and you could lose your way. But after a day or so you should have it figured out. I declined the CDW insurance for my car and just used my credit card coverage. I stayed with friends at an AI about 20 to 25 mins away and it was a bit of a drive to Campo. Next time if I went I would try to stay closer. Since I stayed with friends (not all mongers) I did not make as many visits nor spent as much time as I normally would have. You can easily hang around in Campo and talk to the girls all you want, after all they have no where else to go. After 3 or 4 days you might have had enough going to the same location, paying entry and all (6$).
Another side note, you cannot get V or C at the pharmacies without prescription if I am right. The security guys at the Campo might sell you Viagra or Kamagra for 10 bucks if thats something you'd need. Just my thoughts.

Yes, I realize that Curacao is not like the DR or the Philippines (Angeles City). That's part of the reason I want to visit. To see and experience the differences. That and the opportunity to do plenty of snorkeling, reading and enjoying dinners out. Mentioning dinners out, how is the food at Campo Alegre or is it mostly drinks? Another thing I'd like to know is if most visitors simply use USA dollars or the Dutch Gilder. When I am in other countries I usually use the ATMs to obtain my local currency (especially since my bank covers all fees). Is it better to use dollars or the local currency?
Since I've also traveled to Medellin and Cartagena several times, I hope to meet some Colombian chicas as well as Dominican chicas. Since I speak fairly fluent (or at least functional) Spanish, the language barrier isn't there. What are some of the other places the chicas come from? Venezuela? Dominica? Etc.

Thanks.I stayed at the Hilton. It was nice, not amazing but not bad. It was about 10 minutes to Campo. Ran me about $200 a night. If I went back to Curacao I would stay at the Hilton again.
i was considering renaissance also but 30 minutes is a long way. any other suggestions for a 4-5 star place closer to campo? i am only there for 2 nights so vacation homes are really not an option. thanks.don't worry, the drive from otrabanda is not really a big deal so book wherever you feel comfortable. i would just avoid some of the resorts around jan theil and seaquarium beaches as they are considerably farther from campo. 30 minutes from the renaissance would be during the day with traffic. later in the evening it will be 15-20 min. hop on the ring road and the drive is pretty quick. i've made it in 10 min at night without speeding.
the renaissance is a nice property with a decent casino, tons of restaurants and shopping in the attached shopping mall and the rifort mall. it is a quick 2 min walk to downtown otrabanda and the bridge to punda. the only other hotels in the 4-5 star range that are closer to campo are the ones in piscadera. hilton, marriott etc. but it is only about a 5 min difference.
i like the downtown area myself and usually stay at the kura hulanda which is in otrabanda. i prefer it because it is truly unique and not a cookie cutter resort like all the brand names. check all the booking engines and you can sometimes get a steal at the kh. i have paid as little as $125 and it will usually be considerably less the the major brands for a much nicer environment. check out the property even if you don't stay there. it has an amazing museum, good restaurants and a lot of artwork.

Usually you get change in Guilders but you can ask in dollars (if they have they'll give). Campo rates are 3 to 5. You can pay chica either 30 US or 50 Guilders. I found extras like BBBJ can be had with some chicas for an extra tip, (10 to 20 $). If you can work it you can get it for free too. I don't recall seeing any chica other than from DR or Colombia at Campo, if they are there must be really few. Which leads to another question? At the resort I say plenty of local girls working at the restaurants and casinos, some were pretty, most were big though. Are there any local flavors available in the island? or Dutch?

Since it will be a mongering trip, I am not considering any sightseeing. I will be flying in from and out to Miami, and not planning to rent a car. Have been to Colombia numerous times. The Colombianas are my first choice but have had lot's of good time with some Dominicanas in other part of the world. What will be a better choice between the 2 islands in terms of chica quality and quantity in such limited time?

And if your like me you will probably go twice a day. Which means about 80 a day in taxis alone. I rented a car from budget for 15 a day for 3 days on my trip. When are you thinking of going? I have a 2 night comp stay at floris suite hotel, I was looking to split it with a buddy on my next trip there.

Curacao hands down is the better place to go. Campo alegre has tons amd tons of women, you will def get the best bang for your buck there. I highly reccommend renting a car though. You'll easily spend $20 each direction going to / from campo. And if your like me you will probably go twice a day. Which means about 80 a day in taxis alone. The only advantage to using NFL is that the chicas at Campo charge 30 USD or 50 NFL. 50 NFL comes to $27 so there is a 3 dollar savings if you exchange. Not really a big deal. If you do want NFL your hotel or the cashier at Campo can change it for you. ATMs give you a choice of USD or NFL.

I guess its back to the first one since I am knackered and need to sleep. Found her, (4AM) hey, can we go again? Sure; I am also looking for a place to sleep; sure. If you rent a car you can leave your luggage in your car and just walk in with your bare essentials stuffed in your pockets that would work at least for the first night without a need for booking a hotel room. Parking lot looks safe enough. Yes, I realize that Curacao is not like the DR or the Philippines (Angeles City). That's part of the reason I want to visit. To see and experience the differences. That and the opportunity to do plenty of snorkeling, reading and enjoying dinners out. Mentioning dinners out, how is the food at Campo Alegre or is it mostly drinks? Another thing I'd like to know is if most visitors simply use USA dollars or the Dutch Gilder. When I am in other countries I usually use the ATMs to obtain my local currency (especially since my bank covers all fees). Is it better to use dollars or the local currency?
Since I've also traveled to Medellin and Cartagena several times, I hope to meet some Colombian chicas as well as Dominican chicas. Since I speak fairly fluent (or at least functional) Spanish, the language barrier isn't there. What are some of the other places the chicas come from? Venezuela? Dominica? Etc.

Re spending the night at campo. I agree about the parking lot and leaving your bags in a rental car. If you come by taxi, you can check your bags with security (I have even gone back and got my toilet kit out, just leave a tip for security). If you stay with a girl, you usually need to stay up really late, your get a unique experience (see the life of the girl in a brothel) and you save $100-$300 USD depending on which hotel you would have stayed in, whether you get rental cars or taxi, etc.

Just got back from a 3 nights trip to Curacao. I enjoyed the trip a lot. Curacao is a beautiful I island with a lively, touristic water front downtown area. It is full of great restaurants and live music. If you like salsa, meringue, buchata. This is the place for you. I saw some very exotic dance moves that I have never seen before, great entertainment.
For the hotel, I stayed at the Hilton, Despites some negative online review of this place, I liked it a lot. It is about 5-7 min. Drive from downtown, and 10-15 min. Drive from Campo, close enough from the action but you can still enjoy its tranquil setting when you need some rest or not in the mood to party. Rooms are clean and big, and if you get the room on the ocean side, you will enjoy the big view even from your bed.
I took the suggestion from the forum and rented a Toyota Rav4 for 3 days, total damage $220 including insurance. I was able to venture out of the beaten path, and saw the regular lives on the island driving around with the rental.
Now about Campo, having been to Colombia, Spain, German FKK multiple times, I would say the quality of girls in Campo at this moment is not that great. Based on my personal taste and observation, I would rate most of the girls I saw there between 4-6 with 4-5 7's and maybe one tall black girl at 8. A lot of gorditas if you like them big. For me, I prefer slim girls. I was very disappointed with the quality of girls when I first arrived, but later the disappointment was compensated by GFE from the girls. I got it from all 4 girls I samples. All but one gave me BBBJ.
Before my trip I was asking the forum if it was possible to stay with a girl all night without getting a hotel room, turned out it was quite easy if you are willing to pay them more. I reccommend staying at the Bellevue Dominican Bay in Boca Chica. I have been looking forward to this ever since. Been reading up (Google) on hotels as well.

Not as economical as Campo, it is still quite affordable.If you are able to enjoy yourself in Amsterdam, you will like FKKs MUCH better. Controlled, safer, more luxurious environment. Just left Curacao after 10 days there on business. Unfortunately was only able to get to Campo twice. Enjoyed Luiza / Louisa in 157. There other option is $440 to BOG through MIA on AA (or on Insel Air and Spirit) , but the savings aren't worth the wasted time and the hassle of going through US Customs twice in less than a week, both times arriving from locations known to trigger suspicions.

If not, cross the bridge to downtown Punda, there are several pharmacies / general stores there. You will not find actual Walgreens or CVS on island.

And you don't want to put yourself at the mercy of one of the few cab drivers hanging out there at 1 am. They won't be official taxi's with meters. They'll just be guys with cars, offering you a ride. He'll charge you whatever he wants, and you'll be forced to pay. Either rent a car (the best idea) or prearrange your ride back.
Most of the girls are not just thick, they are fat. Sure some women have the bunda shape, but most of them have the belly too, which makes you just fat. If you like slender or normal girls, prepare for slim pickings.

It started some years back when some upscale locals with boat started a trend where they some will come together every the first Sunday of the year in a bay in the town called Fuik. Which is a small town near on the east of the island. Fuik is for the most part a low income area and is underdeveloped (unpaved roads). You cannot reach the bay on public roads, you need to go through private property to get there and the owners don't like people trespassing on their property. So getting their via land is highly unlikely. The only way to reach the bay is with a boat. Like I said It started small unorganized party and turn big. Last year very big and that's when the Goverment said that they will bring some rules because people left they place all mess. So if you want to get to the party its on the first Sunday of every year and locals and international DJ will play there for free. You can score alot of girls if you if have a boat and drinks.

The party is a yearly recurring thing on the island on the first Sunday of the year, it's known as Fuikdag. Basically it's hundreds of boats coming together in a bay on the island where there's music, bbq's and a lot of (non working) girls. I heard that Afro Jack and Chuckie also visited once, not this year though. It's a once year thing, so you'll have to wait for 2016. If you're here next year you should definitely check it out, it's an awesome experience. You'll need a boat or know someone with a boat though. I have noticed that everything is possible over here, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, we're renting a car. 75 guilders ($42) per day, 2009 four door sedan, automatic transmission. I arranged it a few months ago through the internet. No security deposit needed, pick-up at the airport went smoothly. We had a plan be through a traditional car rental service just in case this didn't work out, but our guy came through and everything went as agreed upon. The car is performing like new.

There are supposed to be less 'attractive' neighborhoods here. I just did quick search and found options for apartments for two people at $40 a night, $300 security deposit. Good neighborhood.

Thanks Dellorto and Cursnoop for your detailed info. I Have friend would like to try Campo, I'm also curious about this place and 50 guilder for 30 min is a cheap price.
So I try to understand which budget I'll need for holiday there. Flight, car, apartment, girls, ecc. The thing that is holding me back a little is the performance of the girls. From various report here it's seems that many girls consider a BBBJ for extra. I'm used to Thailand and Germany where I always got a BBBJ, FK, DATY without any extra.
