Jericoacoara, a very beautiful small village located in the sand dunes. About a 6 hour busride north of Fortaleza. Pleasant village, nice beaches and nature. The last 30 years Jeri have changed a lot. Now it's a destination for the rich as well as for the middleclass.

Fortaleza fell off years and years ago. When I first started going to Brazil, I had it on my short list as a place to visit. But then the mongering scene really tanked. I think they got some female politician who shut it down.
While, Luizianne Lins, hasn't been mayor since December 2012, the effects of that mayoralty has taken its effect.

1) I drove back through Fortaleza after about a week in the remote WNW with high hopes. As you know, the City used to be a real mongering destination, mostly for Europeans, until about ten years ago. It was centered on Iracema beach and its pier. So I booked what looked to be the closest, decent hotel (with secure parking) to Iracema with the hope that something would be happening or, worst case, I could get an incall. I got to the hotel (hot, tired, fed up with traffic) about 3 pm and they told me, "no visitors". WTF! I said, 'okay, forget about it, I'll go somewhere else', but I'd already paid through Hotels.com or whatever and the refund process looked too difficult. Anyhow, the place was really a dump (with a crappy breakfast, as well), I had a room by the elevator -- don't stay there! I went out on the pier and the sidewalk both at 4 pm and later at 10:30, but didn't see anything resembling P4P. Lot of women dressed like sluts, but I think that's just their normal beachwear.
2) In desperation, I tried to get through to girls with incalls around Beira Mar (the main beachfront road). Most people I met got there by pickup truck / taxi from the airport -- I think it was about $125 US per person each way. Problem is, if your gear gets delayed (as it often does flying up from GRU) and you take a pre arranged taxi with the rest of your group -- then you have to arrange to get it schlepped up to Jeri. I went with a shit ton of gear, which got delayed in FOR. Luckily, I was not too far and it came the next day.
Prea is the next town to the east with onshore / sideshore beach break. Tatajuba is just to the west, but apparently the road was too bad for my rental car so I didn't go there. It is on a river mouth, which makes it a better spot. There are rentals and kite schools at all the bigger spots.

I never stayed in Hotel Maredomus, just passed by and informed about their guest policy. That's one of the few hotels in that area that doesn't allow guests. Aracati (maybe Canoa Quebrada) and Jericoacoara. Nice beaches. In Jeri there is usually lots of beautiful girls, but propably hard to pickup if you're in the late 70's.

Because of the covid situation it's really not much tourism. Many bars and restaurants have closed down. The nightlife is much calmer than it used to be. Around 1 AM the party is over.
There are still very beautiful regular girls to score. If you want those you'll need to be young or know the locals who can introduce you as one of the good guys. Local girls who hang out with gringos might get a bad reputation quickly. There is also piranhas, often women from cities nearby who enjoys adventures with gringos, sometimes in exchange for money. These piranhas doesn't seems to change. They just get older and fatter every year. Finally there are a bunch of putas wgo doesn't hide what's their business. Watch out for thief girls coming from other cities. They work together with guys who will rob you after the girls have given you a Boa Noite Cinderella-.
Very few gringos comes to Canoa nowadays. There are about 2 dozen gringos who spends several months in Canoa every year. The average age of these gringos must be close to 70 years. The best part of Canoa are the fantastic beaches, sanddunes, excellent restaurants and a very laid back atmosphere. A perfect place to stay for a few days and recharge you batteries. In a few hours I'll head to Fortaleza and will see what it has to offer.

Thanks for your latest reportage, Sperto. I have never been up north, but I really like hot weather & warm water and that just ain't Rio 9 or 10 months out of the year. Ha Ha. I am used to SE Asian tropical beaches with their lush jungle foliage groing all the way down to the sand and 65 to 80 feet ocean visibility (calm beaches). But, these Brazilian dune beaches look very interesting to me and very different than what I am accustomed to.
So, I am considering flying up north and renting a car for a little beach getaway side trip during my next visit to SP & RJ. Of course, it would be great if there were some attractive local talents available for a good time, but that is not necessarily a trip killer for me because I don't plan to stay more than a night or two in the cities (Fortaleza and Recife) plus I would either BMO girl to the beaches or just take 4 or 5 days off to recharge my battery.

How much Fortaleza has changed or is going downhill depends on what, or rather to when, you compare. A short reflection based on the last 31 years I've been visiting Fortaleza.
* The 90's: Fortaleza was insanely good. All of the orla in Iracema was filled with restaurants and bars. Lots of bars with a mixture of regular girls and GPS. The best bar was Moby Dick (Captains Club, changed name often). Beira Mar had many excellent bars and barracas with GPS. All of the orla in Iracema and Beira Mar had GPS strolling up and down looking for customers. Pirata on Mondays was a no miss when picking up regular girls. There were even a hardcore strip club called Africa. Chico do Carangueijo (Praia do Futuro) on Thursday were like Sodom and Gomorra, when you met a girl there you could just bring her outside to some beach chairs and f*ck her (I remember once getting a BJ in a beach chair, when I looked around in the dark I saw 7 couples close by also having sex on the beach). - Zipi Bar: I passed by the day before yesterday. Very few people inside the club. Yesterday I had some beers outside Zipi Bar. When I left a bit after 11 PM no guests had entered the bar, and just a handful of GPS gathering on the outside.
- Armazem: Wednesdays used to be working girl night. I don't know if it still works. They used to have a large sign on the outside telling which bands that would play on the different evenings that week. That sign is gone.
- Pirata: Yesterday was Pirata evening. I passed by on the backside. Maximum of 50 people on the inside.
- Croco Beach: Much less people than normal and mostly families.
- Beira Mar: Here the prefeitura really has managed to destroy one of the most pleasant orlas in Brazil. Along the orla there used the be lots of restaurants and bars with people partying and some bars with GPS. Now they have removed most of the establishments. Instead they have constructed parking lots. All the big beautiful palm trees are gone. The few bars that are still left are much smaller than before. The working girl point in front of McDonalds is gone. What happened is that they have widen the beach a lot. All of the permanent barracas are now far away from the waterfront. They also have constructed, in the middle of the beach, very wide paths for bikers and runners. Side-note: For those who enjoys early morning runs. Try running from ex-ponte Metalica in Iracema to Mercado do Peixe at the end of Beira Mar. It's 10 km back and fourth. Just after 5 AM there about 1000 runners every morning. Great fun and lots of extremely fit girls.
- Favelada flirting. On weekends Iracema and Beira Mar gets invaded by the young Fortaleza favela crowd. Be careful as there are many thieves in that crowd. However there are tons of very sexy and flirting favela girls.
- Regular girls: As long as you have a bit of game there shouldn't be any problems to find regular girls. I have a small stable with regular girls I call every time I'll get to Fortaleza-.
* The privê scene:
- In centro there are many buildings with privées. Nothing has changed here. You'll find these buildings on Rua Sena Madureira 961 and Rua 24 de Maio 268/754 / 876. - Monsenhor Tabosa 111 used to be a really good privê spot. On the second floor there used to be something like 10 privées with some really good quality. Yesterday I went there and now there is only 2 privées left. You can't miss them as they are the only apartments with door mats on the outside, one even has a "Welcome" sign. Four girls in each privê. It's incredibly that the price continues the same, 100 reais /1 hour.

Walk by every night (except weekend) at Piratas and found it with minimal folks attending a live music inside bar.

Obrigado amigos.In Iracema there are several hotels and pousadas that are GF and charge nothing extra when you bring a guest. You could try Hotel Elegance (almost opposite Zipi Bar). Try to get the room with the balcony (which has a statue). Some rooms are nice and some are bad. The italian owner can be a prick so make sure you have an agreement about bringing guests for free.
The last years I've stayed at the Iracema Travel Hotel. I'm sure they charge for a guest, but unless you arrive with your guest at nighttime you can easily sneak her by the reception. There are lots of excursions staying at that hotel and lots of people passing by the reception area all the time. BTW, top floor rooms have much better standard than the rooms on lower floors.

I wanted to add a little info of what bm Sperto has said about the massive concrete expansion that has been developed since the pandemic along the orla in front of the McDonald's and near the oasis atlantico hotel where all the GDP's used to occupy the barracas where they hunted for punters. His description was quite accurate about the demolition of those the former "hook up" barracas and how they have been moved down towards the beachfront and closer to the water. What he failed to mention was that a giant complex of storage lockers has been built in their place where to old barracas operated. These ugly storage lockers house a multitude of small souvenir shops that seem to be selling all the same things. Little useless trinkets, dried fruits and nuts, some stalls are selling identical swim wear. Walking through these newly constructed metal stalls Is nothing but a total eyesore of redundancy and a shame to witness. Long Gone is the vibe of yesteryear. This part of Beira Mar. Is now the official black eye sore of the concrete jungle nearest the Mar. The flavor is bland and best to be avoided unless you feel like buying some over priced wares.
I wrote this for those folks who think they can find action away from iracema beach. It's all gone folks. Don't waste your time thinking you can find some action outside the old monger zones. The credits have rolled and the sexual saga is over. I won't be bore you with anymore negative reviews as enough has been said already.

Canoa Quebrada, yearly update. The city is located 3,5 hours south of Fortaleza.
The good news: The beaches continues to be great, many good restaurants in the little town and Canoa is an excellent spot for relaxing.
The bad news: They managed to ruin this ex-paraiso even more. Canoa used to be the wildest party city in the nineties, with regular girls coming from the neighbouring cities just to get some gringo the*ck. Today it's mostly families or couples going to Canoa. They managed to close down more of the old bars and forró-clubs on the main street, Broadway. They turned into pharmacy, chocolateria, souvenir shops and a superexpensive restaurant (empty every evening).
Mongering: There are a handful of piranhas and pro's, that are way too old, that hangs out with the local gringo crowd (mostly old unfit alcoholics with sad looking faces). On the weekends a few younger women shows up to earn some money. Definitely worth trying to score some of the beautiful regular girls, locals and tourists. The problem is that there are fewer regular girls going to Canoa after they reduced the nightlife.
Safety: Beware of the thief girls coming from Aracati and other cities. They try to hook up with you and follow you to your place. After given you a Boa Noite Cinderella their male bandit friends will rob you.

Cumbuco is a popular beach town about 40 km from Fortaleza. Since it's close to the city it's lively on the weekends and is kind of a low rent place. A good percentage of the people who come here are kiters -- and probably 90% of the foreigners. Flights from Europe are cheap and direct, so there are mostly European kiters -- I've only met two Americans to date. I've hooked with two girls from Tinder, both 22 years old. It's with Localiza, which is a huge company. I always just pick the cheapest, smallest, weakest car (which is how I like to roll! But they upgraded me to a five seat Hyundai something (kind of like a Civic). 4x4's cost many times more. Everyone has the fantasy of driving on the dunes, I guess. There are little, open fiberglass dunebuggies for rent locally; however, I don't know how much they are. I've ridden miles clinging to the back of those things, but they're not my style.
I don't think this is a destination for P4P;although, I did have dinner with a Dutch guy the other night who comes here for three weeks every year just for just for the girls. Cumbuco (and the 500 miles to the east and west of it) are nearly unending, wide, sandy windblown beaches. You won't be hanging out on a calm beach under a palapa similar to the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The wind can blow 20-25 all day--you get sandblasted. It has an austere beauty, but it's not for everyone.
I wouldn't necessarily come to Cumbuco to learn kiting either. There can be a super strong shore break, especially at high tide which has thrashed me a couple of times already.
