Newbie here. Did a quick search and didn't find an answer for this-

I have experience in the US (payment up front) and Uruguay and Argentina (I always paid post session) but what is expected in Colombia?

For a 1 hour session pay up front?

For say 12 hours I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. Do you pay half up front and half at the end?

Thanks for your help!In Mayorista in MDE most of the girls want payment first. Later if you take them again they may not ask for it right away. Other areas when payment is asked first the best way is to show them the money, but not give it up till the session is over. Say if you put it on the dresser that will do the trick. Now in Casas you have to pay up front in 99% of the places. I have been to one where they run a tab, but you have to watch they don't add extra charges on the bill.

That is so true. What is up with that? You read my mind and I am wondering the same.

BTW, if you look at the travel announcement section there were a lot of people announcing their visits to MDE but very few reports. Not much has changed. A 3 year summary, Hooters opened Aug 4th 2009, Dollhouse opened June 2010, closed Aug 2010, Loutron moved, PaisaLover got Jailed, MedellinPaisa was killed, AG built a bar, Frank built a baby crib, the airport remodel job now has food and drinks after the final checkpoint, Spirit started flights June 2009, Bbrocs has added more apartments near Lleras, few metro cables got extended, the skyline is more crowded with high rises, prices are a little higher, casa quality is down, girls went full blown RL, girls are fatter and so am I. LMAO

Thanks for your help! The only time I pay anywhere up front is at a fuck house where it is required to pay up front. As far as that, really the only places that come to mind are Las Cucardas in Lima and the soapies in Thailand. Also in the casas of Santa Fe in Bogota you have to pay the room only (5 or 10k pesos depending on the joint) up front. Other than that I would NEVER give a sex worker payment up front. MF tend to get lazy after they are paid. That money is too busy burning a hole in their pocket for them to give good service. That is in any job. Pay your workers at the end of the day.

However if I am on the other end of the business deal then I would require money up front. No dough, no show.

I am planning to take a small plane from Florida with a buddy and island hop the Bahamas for 7 to 10 days.

ISG reports that P4P is virtually non-existent in the Bahamas so I got this idea.

Is it possible to set something up and have a Columbian chica fly commercially to the Bahamas and spend a week in the Caribbean?

No VISA is necessary, only a passport.

Thanks for any info or help.

If you know that a visa is not required then didn't you answer your own question?I think that the question was more about the possibility of taking a local girl or two with them on their trip and not about the need of passport / visa requirements.

Colombians don't need a visa for the Bahamas? If you say so, check your facts and be sure before you spend all this loot.

To answer your question anything is possible if you have enough money. Is it probable is the real question? There are so many "moving parts" for this project to be a success I'd say don't even try to bring a Colombian girl. I can tell you first hand (SO will pretty much any of the OG heads) that a Colombian Chick is as dependable as a umbrella full of holes! They ALWAYS say one thing and do another or make plans and never show up! Why don't you and dude do a bit more digging and find a girl there in the Bahamas or even one in the States. It might cost more but it will save you a ton of frustration.

Not trying to be a hater but it SOUND awesome in theory. It's the application that does not sound likely.

Think about it, you're going to ask two RANDOM chicks to come escort you and your boy to the Bahamas for a few days? Where you going to find the girls? What if there is no chemistry? What if they want to be paid a deposit / travel expenses and then try to squeeze you? What if they offer shitty service? What if the pics they send you are old and they went from Lindas to Gordas? What if they say yes then don't show up at the airport and you and buddy are S. O. L and maybe out a few bucks cash and tickets for the flight? This just off the top of my head.

Also, Most the working girls in Colombia have lives, school or university, family and kids, ect. Family They just CAN"T get up and go on a working vacation, no matter how much fun it sounds, especially if it is kind of short notice. They'd get all excited and say yes! Then when the planning and doing has to be done the facts would kill their excitement. Just because they're working girls in Colombia does not mean they don't have normal lives.

Try to find a girl in the DR or Panama (Colombia Girls) most of those girls have "work" on their minds so kids / obligations are all squared away.

BobLike Manizales911 said, you answered part of your own question. Colombians do not need Visa for the following countries:

Argentina.

Bahamas 90 days.

Barbados 90 days.

Bolivia.

Brazil.

Chile.

Cuba. Tarjeta de Turismo (Turism Card)

Dominica.

Ecuador 90 Days.

El Salvador 90 Days.

Guyana 30 days visa on arrival.

Honduras 3 Months.

Jamaica 30 days.

Mexico 180 days. Since 9 November 2012.

Montserrat.

Nicaragua Visa on arrival for 90 days $ 20. 00 USS fee.

Panama.

Paraguay.

Peru.

Saint Kitts and Nevis 3 months.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 1 month.

Trinidad and Tobago.

Uruguay.

Venezuela 90 days.

Logistically, it would be easier if you fly a Colombiana via one of the countries that also doe snot require a Visa.

You will have a hard time finding one with a passport though. It is rare for a Colombiana to have a passport and getting one takes time. The ones with passport are already working in surrounding countries.

Honestly I don't know why but it seems that a bunch of guys here are constantly MISSING the point, misreading or misinterpreting posts, or getting hung up on unimportant details.

I am not calling out Vitrea or Manizales911, no beef no drama homies! Hahah. But rather pointing out the lack of reading comprehension here on the boards hahaaha!

For example a few pages back I made a post about finding a language program on line FOR FREE and the first comment was about a TYPO (I put $50 instead of $500) I made instead of anything to do with the down load system or the program! The guy wrote "Where you find Roseta for $50!" I was like "Bro! I just told you HOW to get it for free and you want to get at me for a typo?" A few members thanked me for giving them the heads up and how to so there is some hope that not every member here is a clueless old fart! Hahhaha!

Back to your thing. Look at your own experience; Girls from remote to city, IMO that is going to be easier because that girl is going to go nuts for the big city and a free vacation. She tired of pissing in the same pot! Hahahah. Also Philippines is like the Wild Wild West of hookers and working girls (Never been but that seems to be the impression I get from my buddies that have gone) and are even more poor than most Colombian working girls. Sounds like you could tell us more than most; how far a $1 go in PI vs South America? I imagine much farther in most areas.

I've seen that the girls in Peru, Argentina, Uraguay (in Arg) and Colombia all have a healthy respect for their families and what they know so they keep it on the DL as best they can. Like Manizales911 said, best hit up one of the girls alread working in say Panama or one of the Other Islands because they'll already have their passports. If you think some Mansion x Casa x Prepageo x Stripper chick is going to go wait 4 hours on Monday and then 3 more the next for her passport, and pay $200COP so she can go on a trip with two strange gringos (is you had been with her a few times and she likes you that is another story) you'd better think again. Or maybe you'd like to buy some Swamp Land I have for sale! Ahhaha.

Keep the boards posted if you do make this move and more importantly HOW you made it happen!

The chicas in on the islands from Colombia are under contract for a 3 month duration. (That was the case with the 4 or 5 chicas I asked in St Maarten) I did not ask any chicas in St Maarten if the casa was holding their passport until the 3 month contract is completed but I would presume that is the case. Re taking a chica on a holiday to the islands, the guy pays the 200, 000cop (do really think a chica would spend her own money on a so called gringo promise of a holiday to the islands). I would think most chicas would be willing to stand in line for several hours to get a passport good for 10 years for free, and a possible holiday trip. Also if the guy was a dickhead she could dump him and go work in the islands now that she has her passport.

Speaking from personal experience, One chica said she needs me to send money for a passport and lost touch with me once I said, I will pay for the flight ticket only after I see a copy of her passport. The other was totally fine with the initial investment. So, it can happen but it is rare and you need to have a relationship before that can a happen. Not going to happen with an RL contact. At the end of the end of the day, like Slam said, these are good discussion of a very romantic thought but in general an impractical idea. At the end of the end of the day, like Slam said, these are good discussion of a very romantic thought but in general an impractical idea.IMHO it's not a romantic thought at all, but a dumb fucking idea. Invest money in a hooker one has never met and make plans to spend a week with her? It would serve the original poster right if she arrived and they had zero chemistry.

Sidenote: I have a friend in Barranquilla. She said her room mate met some guy from Australia online. The guy arrived and they got an apartment together. (Not sure how long he planned to stay, but my friend is still looking for a new room mate and this was October.) Not even a week after the guy arrived he started complaining to my friend that he did not like the girl. It seems he fell in love with her online, but when he got around her and was able to experience her personality and mannerisms he could not stomach her. My friend said for one thing she walks pigeon-toed, and he hates that. Can't see something like that on a cam!

I admit that I need practice picking up chicas in person. Many of us on pfp forums do.

why is it that every freaking hotel i try to make a reservation with through their website or email never writes back to say anything? the last time i was in bogota and went to my favorite hotel but it was full because of a big church group. 125 people. the lady gave me the email and said that i could just write to make a reservation next time. well i have done just that and 6 days have passed and not a peep from them. the hotel where i always stay in barranquilla, same thing. the hotel where i always stay in cali, same too. i think the only exception over all these years that i have been going to colombia has been the don jaime in cali. hell they still even send me an email once a year with the price list and i haven't stayed with them in eons. they put all of this work and money into these websites and do not answer correspondence from them. if you want a room in colombia my best experience is that you are best to call and make the reservation or have someone there do it for you.

On Jan 09 I wanted to book 2 return tickets MDE to BOG on Lanchile airline (Lan. Com) for Jan 15 return Jan 17. The Colombian site price was 300, 560cop for 2 return tickets, the US and Canada, sites was $409. USDat1770. Exchange rate 724, 000cop. The Colombia site would not accept my Canadian bank visa card (other times accepted by Avianca when booking in Colombia, so am presuming problem was I was on the Colombia country site instead of the us or canuck site) ps the colombian site spanish only, when the card rejected they gave me the option of paying by cash at a Banco de Bogota. They request I print out an invoice and take it the bank. The website gave me a confirmation # and said my booking held till 2400hrs the same day. I was 2 minutes in the bank as they had a special line for bill paying. All said for 20 minutes extra of my time the saving 424, 000cop, not bad for 15 minutes work in MDE. On another subject when you book an international ticket in Colombia as a extranero a 60, 000 cop tax you have paid is to paid back when checking in at the airport. It is the same at many hotels. Quite ironic seeing that most places charge foreigners more for shit than the locals. And in some places it is even institutionalized. For instance in Peru, a domestic airline ticket for a Peruano costs much less than it does for a gringo.

For those guys who have visited Colombia and Peru: here in Lima, on "Perutops" there is a section for Colombian working girls, they sure look very attractive; I can not find on "Perutops" any review on them. In general, do working girls in Colombia as attractive as the ones here in Peru? The price they charge, if you call, is 200 soles, local money. The price sure beats what I paid in "Cabukicho" $ 140 for an old Chinese working girl, hell.

The question was posted in Cali section but I thought it is more relevant in the general section.

You guys are paying like 20-30 dollars for hot Colombian women? Count me in! How does Cali compare to Medellin and Cartagena? I will have a chance to go to Colombia soon."Hot" is in the eye of the beholder. Generally speaking, it is extremely rare to consistently find hot girls for that price anywhere. In most major cities in Colombia the supply side (girls) is so high that you might occasionally run into a hottie that is just starting in the business and she is likely to start in a low priced casa. If she is truly hot and in demand, she will soon move out of there into higher priced markets within that city or go out of the country. I found this to be especially true re Cali. Some of the hottest and sweetest Colombians I have been with with are from Cali or surrounding small towns and incidentally I have met them all outside Cali, such as Panama, Costa rica, Medellin, Bogota, Cartagena and Saint Martin.

With that experience, I must have had high expectations when I went to Cali but I was sorely disappointed with the local talent.

Don't get me wrong. You might and probably will still have a great time in Cali but you need to set your expectations right. In my opinion, what happens in town's like MDE and Bogota is that the girls have some high-end outlet options where they can actually make good / decent money that keeps the talent in the cities rather than preferentially exporting them. The local market in Cali does not seem to support high-end talent.

When I travel to Latin America for mongering, I'm already spending couple of thousand dollars in traveling costs and thousands of miles to get there. The last thing I do is look for a $14. 50 deal. If you find one, that is great but what I care is value. For those who know, this big difference between getting something for cheap and finding a value. Like warren Buffet says, don't buy a cheap stock. Buy a value stock. To me, latinas provide the best value of any other girls in the world. The combination of beauty, friendliness, passion for life, dance, song, music and sex is unbeatable. For me I would rather spend $100 to $300 if needed (I draw the line too :-D) , and spend an evening with a beautiful girl who I can remember and dream about for the next few weeks rather than bang a chic for 10 minutes and not even remember her face the next day.

The above are general comments. Please know that I have done the $14. 50 "wham-Bam-thank you ma'am" as well but over the years, my preferences have changed. These comments are personal opinions of one monger and is clearly a minority opinion on this great board.

Have fun and keep contributing.

Have fun and keep contributing.I like your logic Vitrea.

So. Mr Warren Buffet of the mongering world, a question for you.

I am weighing up options between Cartegena and Medellin for a 4 night trip.

I like the idea of Medellin and particularly the Plaza Hotel set up. Seems like a normal hotel in disguise that has chicas available and a bar / night club, La Cueva, just underneath. Good. Seems very laid out and easy. Is this place previously the mansions?

Then there is Cartegena, I could stay in a beach side hotel. When the mood takes me grab a freelance beach chica and / or hot LDV for fun.

So. I am looking for value in the true sense, not just cheap.

In Cali you don't NEED high end options. The cheaper options are pretty amazing.

In Cali you don't NEED high end options. The cheaper options are pretty amazing. The first time I drank aguardiente was at a spot in La Sexta in Cali when I was with a chick and she ordered it. I still have the empty bottle in my curio. It was 28k pesos. Last night in Zona Rosa in Bogota my girl ordered the same thing and it was 50k. At the Galeria discos it was a little more. The same bottle in Exito is 9k.

I did find food and taxis to be a good value in Cartagena. Places to stay and girls were astronomical IMHO. I have never gone for a high end option anywhere. To me pussy is pussy. I have never paid more than US$50 for p4p and that is for long time.

Sunday Night.

On CNN Anthony Bourdain In Colombia.Bourdain's new "travel" show through Colombia was informative, entertaining, and gave a realistic view of the country. It was less about food than his "No Reservations" series. He skipped Medellin since he previously did a "No Reservations" show there.

I liked the fact that although he praised Colombia and its people, at the end of the show, he readily admitted that Colombia has some serious problems that they need to overcome. As one of the Colombians on his show said, if he was the President of Colombia, he wouldn't know how to turn his country around since it has so many problems.

Has anybody made an purchase of a airplane ticket on viva Colombia using a foreign credit card? I know that Avianca makes you go through the other country page and quotes prices in USD (of course more expensive then in COP) if you have a foreign credit card. Also how difficult is it to open a bank account in Colombia and get a local credit card? Has anybody any experience on the subject?

WreckWhen I was in Colombia in April I spend an entire day asking at serveral banks if a foreigner can open a bank account. Finally at Banco de Bogota they explained in detail that in order to open a bank account one need to have a Colombian residence. Thus it is almost impossible for a foreigner not living in Colombia. Colombian nationals need a new cedular (I'd card) if they want to open an account. The old one cannot be used for business purposes anymore.

Avianca tickets. I confirm that there are problems with foreign credit cards although I managed serveral times to order a ticket on-line on their Colombian web site using my European credit card. No idea why it sometimes works and sometimes not. Please note that I am an Avianca frequent flyer and this may help.

VivaCol and Avianca don't take foreign cc's. Use copa or lan (make sure it's pricing in col pesos). Foreign bank accts / credit card. Forget it. They're about 25 years in the past when it comes to that. Stick with capital one and buy your tickets on lan.

WreckAlmost had a canceled flight due to crazy airline Avianca. I am in Medellin and booked a ticket for myself with canceled flight credit. Confirmed with the agent that I could purchase an airline ticket for my Colombian girlfriend with my credit card. My credit card company is very familiar with travels abroad and I know it was not their fault. Booked flight online. 2 days later I come in to my apartment at night, turn on my computer, and check my emails. Avianca has sent me an email stating that I have to call them within 6 hours or the flight will be cancelled. The email was sent three hours earlier. I still had three hours left. Spoke to an agent who confirmed that if I had not checked my emails the flight would have been cancelled. What company does not give at least 24 hours+ to respond. The flight was more than a month away. To make a long story short, process took 45 minutes to resolve and I was told it was a security check by the airline because the credit card had been used under another name.

Called Avianca with 800 number through SKYPE for free. Crazy policy! What can you do? Other than this I have pleasant experiences with Avainca and I have flown with them about 5 times.

The processes living in Latin America can make one crazy at times. You just have to view it as cost of living abroad.

1. I tried a different browser not the problem.

2. I can by tickes on Avianca so my credit card is fine.

I still don't know what the problem is with viva Colombia but I can buy tickets on copa, avianca and Lan. Also I did buy tickets with viva Colombia last year without a problem. One piece of information what copa, avianca and Lan do is to let you enter the webpage under "other countries" this increases the price of the ticket beacuse all the promotional prices are taken out which means that you are paying for "economy extra" class I. E. Almost business class.

One idea, I'm european, but all americans have you tried to open a citibank account in Colombia given the fact that you have a citibank account in the US? Would that work in this way you don't need a local I'd-card. Or plan B would a Avianca gold card enable better service for payment? I mean I can't believe that its a account transaction issue beacuse the airlines per definition fly to other countries with other currencies.

If you live in Medellin or any other large city, there is an Avianca / Deprisa office on almost every block. Just walk through Poblado and I know of at least 3 within a half a mile of each other. They accept any country's credit card and they are usually fast. Also you can make a reservation and pay by foreign credit card at the airport prior to your flight.

With Avianca: You have to use select the "country of origin" and it has to be same as the country that issued the credit card. That is true with many carriers all over the world. I think the system is designed to give special deals in some countries and not have to have same deals for other countries. I would say that it is quite sophisticated. :-D.

/WreckForget about amount of money. You need a letter from a real company saying that you are going to invstigate business opportunities in Colombia. The visa is good for 2 years. The consulate charges about 100 USD. Which must be paid by wire transfer (no credit cards) or cash. When you have the visa you go to das office on calle 100 in Bogota and apply for cedula. A few months and you get contrasena, which is temp, but ask for resolution that tells the bank to accept it.

Citibank on calle 72 at k8 has visa debit cards with your account, which can be used internationally.

With a bank account, you will get a local debit card, but it may not be useful for buying things internationally. The citibank Debit card is VISA, good anywhere.

Just because you have a cedula and bank account and money, does not give you a credit history in Colombia. You need a job with income, then go to data credit office and apply to get a credit history. Then you can get a credit card. I am sure there is more, but I cannot think of it right now. (yes, you can buy property or rent etc with your foreigner Cedula / contrasena).

So, this girl from Santa Marta randomly added me a while back. I accepted because she was really quite stunning in her photo but thought nothing of it. She wrote to me and apologized for adding me but said I had the same name as one of her friend's ex-novios. (The bullshit cough going off in my head). We talk and I think she's kinda cool and I would really like to partake of her charms one day. She pushes me to talk on Skype a lot and finally one day I relent and we talk on Skype.

We get to talking every day and last night she is really pushing to chat on Skype. So, I get home and login to Skype and we start to chat. She gets up for a few seconds disappearing from camera and comes back and we talk some more. Then she hears a knock on her door. She turns the computer around so I can see her go to answer the door. She opens it and a guy in a mask rushes in, she screams as he grabs her arm, she runs to the computer and disconnects from Skype.

A few minutes later (literally like 3-5 minutes have passed) she messages me via WhatsApp that she was robbed and they stole the computer in her apartment and that the computer belonged to her friend and she needs to pay him back. This is all such a terribly, terribly acted performance from start to finish that I almost feel compelled to give this poor heartbroken girl money because she really needs acting lessons. I had never, ever seen anything like this before. It was pretty fantastic, so I thought I'd share it.

To each his own, but most of the Colombian working girls I see outside of Colombia have had extreme plastic surgery. Fake ass, fake tits, and sometimes something done to their face. Not my cup of tea.Colombianas and Venolzolanas are among girls from some parts of Brasil the most beautiful, sexi, passionate, but also tricky girls in the world.

Beuaty has such high value, but in Colombia there are so many of them that price and attitude is really great for us, for everybody.

In Perú I did hardly see any babes, often the most hottest one's where from Colombia!

Of course there are hot Peruanas, but they have few competitors are get the upp hand over the men, or sex tourist. In Colombia, you find babes everywhere. God gave Colombianas beauty, sexuality, openeness, and also self interest to make a living out of this, as prepagos, or get married to a wealthy man or extranjero. That is so all over the world, but in Colombia it is. Well, it's Heaven, if you can spot the Barracudas, which will learn easy.

Lately, the have starting to enhace their asses into propotions that looks absurd in jeans!

The prepago culture is old in Colombia, Colombians cheat on each other period! They are hot blooded people!

I found, after living 6 months in both Perú and Colombia the diference being striking. Perú is still a good destination, but Colombia is No. 1 in the world and the females in Panama, Costa Rica, Perú, Ecuador can't simply compete, they have no chance!

I'm not sure they're the best looking in Latin and South America. But in my opinion they use the most make-up to beautify themselves. The hair styles, the makeup, the clothes, the high-heel shoes, and the cosmetics. Max Faxtor and Clairol must do a big business in Colombia.

ThanksYou asked a question about dress code under travel announcements so I will answer this first.

Dress Code: Never wear shorts. Imagine being in middle school and wearing shorts is not cool. Welcome to Medellin and Latin America in general. Jeans and Cargo Pants are fine. T-Shirts and collared shirts are fine. Regular sneakers are fine also.

Airport: Grabbing a cab off the curb at the airport is fine. Rate is 57k-60k. Either exchange a small amount at the airport or offer the cab $35 (65k). Since you are staying in an apartment, allow about 15 minutes extra to call a cab for your return trip to the airport. Cabs normal arrive to apartments in 5-10 minutes.

If you plan on coming back to Colombia, take $200+ in Pesos home with you so you don't have to rush to a cambio or the bank when you come back.

I hope this helps.

I ask some simple questions, never seem to get answered, am I doing something wrong?Yes, you should have posted this question in the Medellin forum instead of the General Info forum.

I do not know about taking a taxi at the airport because I always arrange to have a driver waiting for me at the airport via the people I book with. It costs me 72,000 pesos, or $42 dollars. I'm sure getting a regular taxi at the airport can be cheaper, but my driver is in a regular vehicle versus a yellow taxi which just screams "this person is just coming from the airport and very likely has a laptop, smart phone, and a ton of cash on him". Plus he knows where he is going (to drop me off). Taxi drivers at the airport may know how to get you to Poblado, but if they do not know where your hotel or apartment is (handing them a piece of paper with an address on it may only give them a general idea of the area you are trying to get to. You will find this out if you do any Casa runs), and if you cannot explain it to them in Spanish, vas a tener muchas problemas amigo.

Some people even take the bus!

Get a fare printout based on area at a taxi stand, give it to a driver, later pass him your own printout with exact location.

Now it is high, but later like October it's $400-$500.

Thanks to anyone that can help!Miles bro! I use my CC that is attached to an Airline for everything! Gas, eat, golf, bills, everything that using a CC isn't obnoxious. Most of these airlines x cc have other partnerships with merchants and you get bonus miles if you click via their wed site. For example I set $70 worth of flowers for a birthday and there was a bonus (just for flowers, not the candies, balloons, or shipping & handle) so I got a bonus 1000 miles! They have a 2 for $1 at home depot and other useful stores. You just have to click through the special web site. I needed some new gym clohes; Sports Authority had a 2 for $1 so I got my stuff and 160 bonus miles! This is the best way to do it IMO.

Gentlemen, this is a repost of a report that could just as well have been written in the Medellin / Rio de Janerio / whatever thread on this eminent forum.

And if this repost only save 1 of us to do the same misstake, then it was worth the repost.

Big thanks goes out to Skogis for the original report posted under Asia. Thailand. Bangkok Reports #23734.

Start of report:

Like at the zoo where you see signs "don't feed the animals" there should have been signs at immigrations, as I guess the majority of visitors into Thai and the Phils actually have to pass through here, saying "don't sponsor prostitutes" (I don't speak of normal compensation pre session).

I read in other forums as well and I feel so sorry for all the misleaded people out there thinking they found a special girl (in a bar, on the street, in a gogo, in a datingsite etc etc). Let her be special only when you are with her (atleast that is how I do it).

What surprises me by far the most is farangs (Farangs=thai expression for western men) actualy sponsering girls they meet online and have not even met. Laugh or cry I don't know what I pick. Normaly the glory midway I guess. The girls for sure laugh.

True story: Last time in Manila (1 month or so ago) I had this beautiful datingsitegirl coming over to my hotel. We started drinking and talking and as she got tipsy she spoke quite openly about her line of operation. She logged on my Ipad and showed me her communication (mail, skype etc) with a few guys.

OMG I laughed and cried at the same time. They had all only met her through internet and a few were based in Europe and one in Canada and they all start to send her quite decent ammount of money so she would clear her scheduel if they were to set foot in her vicinity.

From 4 punters she recieved 50000php (approx 40000bht) per month. I was so facinated so I read and read and almost forgot the girl. She actually told me she had other friends as well doing the same and she thought it was the easiest work in the world as they were not to fuck these guys no matter what (atleast so she claimed).

2 good question she raised (she was a eduacated girl).

1. Why I take normal job when I get this kind of money just chatting on internet (not even strip as she told me)?

And 2. Are all foreign guys this stupid?

The first question I told her I see your point and on the second I responded "atleast not me"Yeah I told her that to) but also I told her I simply could not explain why people would do such a thing as throwing money out the window. Then we got down to business.

End of report.

Happy hunting, Ken Apples

I read your report with interest Ken. My girlfriend in Thailand operates a similar "service" with her Internet clients and manages to earn quite a bit of money from them. However, I don't think the customers are dumb but are getting what they are unable to find in their own country. I am quite happy with her efforts to earn money like this (as she gets nothing from me when I am in UK) and if her services eventually find her a long term partner then good luck to her. There are plenty more Tilaks in LoS.

Ken Apple's very worthwhile post reminds me of an experience I had many, many years ago in Rio. I had just started going there and met a Garota that I got along with very well. She spoke English (so obviously a veteran pro) and IMO was very hot. We exchanged contacts and before my next visit, I told her I was coming down. She told me I could stay at her apartment, and I figured what the hell. If it doesn't work out, I can always move to a Hotel.

I stayed with this chick for over a week and paid nothing other than buying her food and drinks (and we generally ate very cheap). We fucked and partied like crazy (something I can no longer do!). Towards the end of my stay, we were sitting together on the couch and she was looking through her emails. She pointed out emails from foreign guys sending her money and saying they were in love with her. She was laughing hysterically about it and saying basically,"how could these guys be such losers?" The way she said it almost made me queasy. "Losers!" How could she be so mean to guys that were trying to be nice to her?

To this day, that was easily the best learning experience of my mongering career.

Combo and Compadre, your stories put together is a perfect view of the two sides of the coin.

And the p4p world vs nonpro really are not that different.

Each and everybody trying to get the "best deal" possible. Men and women.

I can't blame anyone for trying to get love / sex into their life, just point out the danger of wasting money for nothing.

Still "romantic hopes" has put many men thinking with the wrong head rather than making sure every hard earned buck counts for real.

Nothing has really changed since the stoneage, men keep trying to impress woman. (Some) Women take advantage of the situation.

And the same story keeps repeating, over and over, generation after generation.

Overnight she left her Skype on, and in 6 hrs there were 184 messages! Holy Batman. Was bored so I was reading back through old posts on several different threads and noticed many posters who were a wealth of information who no longer are posting. Anyone know why? Did they get locked up? Married? Or what is the deal. Here is a few names I came up with.

MiamiHeatLuver. Shared a lot of information and has over a thousand posts all on the Colombia and Dominican boards.

Bandy. Has 400 posts and shared pics and information.

Cubanut. Was the king of taking pics of the girls at the Mansion.

Hillbilly. Was the king of information on the Cartagena threads.

Hilltopper. Also shared much information on the Cartagena thread.

Reefski. Shared excellent pics.

Lucky Eddie. Provided great information on Medellin.

John Gault. Also provided great information on Medellin especially on the Mayorista area.

Frank Casio. Also provided much information on Mayorista area and claimed he was the king the this area. Most guys get fed up arguing with people or being flamed when they are only reporting their experiences. The Colombia forum has been like walking through a field of IED's forever. It accomplishes nothing and makes people look for other venues to share their information.

That fact that you acknowledge these guys for their reporting is promising. Hopefully it will inspire you to do the same and leave the arguing to the other guys.

Has anyone ever brought a vaporizer into Medellin? I was considering bringing a DaVinci Ascent on my next trip. It would be brand new, unused and still in the original packaging so there would not be any residues. This vaporizer can be bought legally in the US in most States. It can be used to vaporize aromatic / herbal oils as well as nicotine oil. I am not sure of the legalities of vaporizers in the Medellin. I have been to public head shops that sold bongs, water pipes, grinders, rolling paper, etc so I would think a vaporizer would be ok as well. Not sure however and I have no idea where to look for an answer. I would not like to be surprised at the airport in Medellin.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. You should be fine. I met a guy at The Mansion about 2 1/2 years ago that brought a small vaporizer and left it with a girl. He had done this a few times he said. I have a friend who took a large vaporizer from the US to Costa Rica without incident also. Airport security in Colombia is looking for money coming in and drugs going out and this is just some tobacco related paraphernalia. GL

Even if they do not find a "stash" in your bag, I could imagine that just from the residue it would turn out to be a very long interview with you.

Thanks in advance. As long as you are ready to describe what it is (and does) in spanish to a customs officer when they check your bags I see no problem with it. I recently tried to pass off an onyx pipe as a coffee table chachka at the San Ysidro / Mexico border crossing and it didn't go over too well. Some people just don't appreciate good art!

Colombia should be easier though. I would assume they have a few less kilos passing through there compared to the SY crossing. After all SY is the busiest border crossing in the world.

Most people don't even know what a vaporizer is except the stoner purists among us ;)

If they happen to ask (I'm sure they won't) then you just tell them it is for tobacco. Since you said it was a grift for your friend then you absolutely don't have to worry about anyone asking you about it or someone finding residue on the way back since you are leaving the vaporizer in Colombia.

To cut down on any potential problems, I would not take a vaporizer that you've used before.

I can't imagine being in "cough" *Colombia and not being able to smoke. It's probably for the best. Are they in my budget and are they on a quiet street and are they affordable? Too many annoying details for someone that wants to party. This is something I need to research now before ever buying another airline ticket.

Yes, I have stayed over 180 days with a student visa (now called TP-3 visa). All you need to do is register for Spanish classes at a university. I paid for 6 months of classes up front and received a year visa. If you look at the cancilleria website you can get a list of all the required documents (in Spanish). If applying in Bogota make sure to show up at lease an hour before they open unless you want to be there a long time. And a university is a great place to meet tons of chicas.

If they agree then it's cool if not move on.

With CRIPA valued at roughly $2 per gram. YOU B BUGGIN if you think a smoke free room would be of value to most young americans.

They probably started enforcing the ban more now or it goes in cycles just like it does in some other countries. One day yes the next no. But who wants to book for a month under those conditions? Not me. I travel to escape these kinds of rules.

I haven't thrown in the towel yet. I have until Sept 3 to figure it out or it's back to Tijuana for me.

Senator Armando Benedetti of the coalition U Party introduced a bill on Tuesday to try and stop 'millionaires' rides, ' a criminal phenomenon in which a victim is drugged and made to empty bank accounts or ransack his home.

According to newspaper El Pais, Mr Benedetti said he has introduced the bill 'to increase the safety and quality of the overall taxi service. '

He went on to say that 'in the last two years, more than 200 people have been victims of the 'millionaire's ride' and so far this year there have been 35 reports of this crime in Bogota, according to police figures. '

The 'millionaire's ride' is a relatively – and unfortunately – regular occurrence, particularly in Bogota. As well as being recognized by Senator Benedetti as a major problem with taxis it is also discussed at length by several travel guides, such as Bradt, Lonely Planet and Wikitravel.

Bradt advises travellers 'don't get into a taxi if there is anyone else in the car and don't be tempted to hail a taxi off the street. '

Wikitravel says that concerning taxi rides 'the most dangerous is the very common 'Paseo Millonario' (Millionaire Ride) , in which the cab driver picks up his accomplices along the way and together they take your valuables, including money from your cards, forcing you to withdraw cash from ATMs until your withdrawal limit is reached. To add insult to injury, they can keep you past midnight and withdraw your daily limit a second time. '

Some of the measures suggested by the Senator are clearly a direct response to the specific patterns of these attacks. As has been noted when the attackers keep the victim to withdraw money after midnight, Mr Benedetti has suggested 'restricting the withdrawal from money' from ATMs between 10pm and 6am.

It is thought that one of the triggers for the proposed bill is the murder of Terry Watson, an American DEA agent who was killed after taking a taxi from the street in Bogota when leaving a pub.

MORE: Colombia Police Offer $26K Reward For Information On DEA Agent's Killers.

He has also called for taxi's to be fitted with mandatory GPS and panic buttons, with drivers and companies who are not complient being hit with heavy penalties. The new measures would see new drivers checked for criminal records in order to prevent previous offenders from having the chance to commit further offences.

MORE: Bogota taxi drivers to serve as Colombian capital's 'guardian angels'

It has also been suggested that a database, accessible by any citizen, would be set up with a profile of each taxi driver. The information supplied would include 'the name and number of the driver, photo, identification number, date of training, a company to which it belongs, the license number and vehicle driven company. ' Companies that fail to collect the information would be subject to heavy fines.

I started travelling to Latin America 2003, spent much of my time in Buenos Aires, which had it's mythical, but untrue, word of being "Paris of Latin America".

Then I was in Rio. I had a wonderful time. It was "winter" in April. I was 35 why-o medium looks, one of very few tourist on this low season, living at cheap rates in a luxury hotels 100-200 meters from Copacabana.

What happend was that a 20 why-o old garota / black girl, an aerobics girl and I hooked up after passing each other on the street 10 times in 2 days. She, and people where so friendly by nature, a huge contrast to Buenos Aires where I hired an apartment for one year and it felt to come to Paradise, what I thought Buenos Aires had it word to be, but was a haven for psycoanalysts and ruff short term business.

I could not believe that she was offended when I wanted to give her my last 300 REAL," I'm leaving Brasil, you need them", She was offended. She was close to a 10 and had stayed with me as a girlfriend for 5 days, and being offended offered some money-which she really neeeded! She had stayed with me slept with me for 5 days in my hotel giving me the best sex I ever had, better than ever all the semi-ugly girls in Buenos Aires, finding a beautiful and hot "porteņa" was. Well not easy, and many with me agree!

Brasilian girls are warm, hot, passionate, in Buenos Aires? Does not Argentina suffer from a permanent social capital collapse in which everyone tries to trick each other, a collective mental malfunction. Argentina then changes currency from time to time to escape huge foreign debts. 90% of foreign investments goes to Brasil. 10% to Argentina, while the country and it's people actually have the capacity to make huge progress, they are stuck with several kind of micro and macro economical traps.

This was 2006, maybe I learned about dating sites 2004, I was to sceptical to send money, but, yes, I felt that latin America had someting to offer that Europe had not! Wonderful climate and people, and girls horney as hell!

2006 I was in Colombia, after leaving Rio. Bogota was way ahead in infrastructure compared to Buenos Aires, just like Rio was!

Since 2009 I have travelled to MDE (and vivisting other places while hiring an apartment) 2-5 months a year depending on economical and social circumstances.

Brasilian girls, just like Colombians look for money, but they are hot, warm but nature. You get GFE, you get friends not asking for money or favours. Now I have learned Spanish very well and got friends for life and a long-term novia in MDE. It is 10 times better than cold climate and social life in Buenos Aires and also Bogota. Rio, MDE and Cartagena are the only 3 metropolitan areas I have visited / lived in where people still are friendly and humane, despite the constant stress they live under. Paisas are aware of this and put effort into keeping it that way, and making social and economical progress at a fast pace, even though many, even Exito supermarkets have to pay to the mafia from San Javier, mostly consitent by x-paramilitaries who can't find work, but don't have Zero respect for human life. Still, murdering rate is down 80% since Pablo Escobar died, and risks ar normal nowaday compared to a city of this size (3,6 millions).

I met my novia in Medellin, daytime, inviting her to take a cup of coffee with me.

Sending money, as those men do is totally a waste of selfrespect, and I have been in that low state of mind that yoiu get while constantly under pressure.

Learn some Portuguese or Spanish on www.livemocha.com Instead. While arriving at Rio, or why not another nice place up-north the coast where the prices are much lower and the beaches equally white, there you will find your Brasilian DreamGirl!

Internetdating has moved over to Facebook, I have one profile just for horney young Medellin paisas that without hesitation offer thier services for 100-200 COP, making expensive fraudly marriage agencies and also Cupid sites obsolete! And for free!

Of course, you will always met "interesadas" and they will fool you of some 500-1000 USD, max, then you have learned which girls you can get for real and which to aviod (100% of those with plastic asses and lips, so they are quiet easy to spot, they walk around looking like luxury pornostars, then of course you always have to be careful, but that count's for the 1th world also!).

Actually my novia in Medellin is very hot. She is not for free, but very independent and want to make her own money. It is only New Life in El Centro that makes it worth to get some variation, since all she ask for is real tuff, like paying 100USD / month for her university. Internet and Parque Lleras prepagos are so much more expensive, just enjoy their sexy looks, don't pay!

If I can find girlfriend / s in Medellin, with good social beaviour, good looks, well mannered, most guy can do it also. Go to the gym before and during the travelling, Colombians care much about looks, cloths, it's normal for men to visit beauty saloons the get a facial, nails, feets, and it's dirt cheap!

I have made several mistakes during my 10 year period travelling to Latin America. Lesson learned: You don't need to pay Gringo Premium Prices. You will get goodlooking girls anyway. By going there you take a risk and everyone get's robbed, tricked at some point, but if you not are foolish, which is the problem, while falling in love, the risks are not bigger than in the US or Europe, where buying a suburb house and new SUV actually limits, if not destroysfor life, your economical ability to experience Paradise. 1th world salaries are so much higher, and if you avoid tourist areas and know some Spanish or Portuguese, you can live like a King for a 33% on average of the price one pays in New York City. Many of the best things restaurants, taxis, and 7-9 class babes being at prices at 10-20, and especially the girls are fantastical emotionally! The food are made of natural products in the restaurants, it is really tasty.

I have been in that State Of Looser Myself, thinking money itself could give love: The good news is: You don't have to send money, learn a little of the "lingo" behave like a gentleman, and you will have a great time at a low price, thus creating a addiction, making you depressed in periods back in Sexprison. But it's worth it! Work, work, save, save- and go. Again and again!

She was laughing hysterically about it and saying basically,"how could these guys be such losers?" The way she said it almost made me queasy."Losers!" How could she be so mean to guys that were trying to be nice to her?

To this day, that was easily the best learning experience of my mongering career.

Just left Medellin after 100 days. Got hit with the minimum fines by both the airline and customs for over 90 days without leaving Colombia. Airline was 70k ($37) and customs was 295k ($160). Total hit was about $200. I can't say what the fine would have been at 120, 140 days, etc but can only comment on my recent experience.

For all of you pot smokers out there be careful with the clothes that you wear to the airport. I am usually careful about this. The night before leaving I smoked a joint and left my pants on the counter nearby for the next day. All of the passengers in Miami were individually interviewed exiting the plane, which I have never seen before, creating a line backing up into the airplane tunnel. When I got to the checkpoint the dog could obviously smell the drug odor in my pants which was not noticeable by myself or the agent. After a good patdown and getting my checked bag I was escorted with about 10 other people into a separate area for inspection. The officer told me that the dog smelled drug odor in my pants. He asked me what my story was and what he would find in my bags. I could sense that these agents were not in the mood for lies or for bothering us over petty things. I told him that I smoked a joint the night before, with my pants nearby, and that he would only find rolling papers in my bag. He told me that he appreciated me being honest with him and after a brief search on my way I went.

My last entry they just stamped my passport without writing 60 or 90 on my passport. To extend your tourist visa for another 90 days, go to the migration office (Old international DAS office in Belen). Look it up online, the fee changes every year, is about 85k+, and copies of tickets, passport, and others are required, and takes about half a day. A friend of my said the tourist visa over-stay fee at the border between Colombia and Ecuador was listed at 590k, but since he didn't have any money, they figured something out.

The airline tax you mention is actually the airport exit tax that everyone pays, except visitors that have been in Colombia less than 60 days. I once had 70K refunded to me at the airport because tickets bought in Colombia has this tax included.

I know this is done by expats a lot in Thailand, where by they leave the country for a day or two then when they come back it is reset.

In Bogota, I used New York Money in the Atlantis Mall to change USD to COP. I don't know a better place (yet) so I reasoned that they might not give me the best rate, but should be professional.

Usually when I've changed money in other countries, a mechanical counting machine is used to count the bills. Such machines, as I understand it, also detect counterfeit notes.

At New York Money the one person working there counted by hand. He counted several times before passing it through the window to me. Then I counted. I knew how many 50mil notes there should be. And counted again, then counted a third time. I was one 50mil note short.

I told him in Spanish that it was short and he allowed me to pass all the notes back through the window to him. He recounted, added one 50mil note to the stack, and returned to me. I asked why he didn't use a machine to count the notes. He pointed to a machine off to the side, not in use. I didn't understand the Spanish words he used to explain why it was not in use. Actually, I was pretty sure it was so he could shortchange foreigners. You can draw your own conclusion.

I really like Colombia. And I have had no problems here other than this one. I didn't lose any money. However, this experience reminded me to always protect my interests in all ways. Because as soon as you let your guard down, bad things can happen.

Could the word the cashier used have been broken? Maybe malfunctioning? There could be 100 reasons as to why he wasn't using the machine and it easily could have been a mistake in counting out the bills. This is all in your head. Been watching too much Law & Order or CSI. Getting a criminals everywhere complex. Atlantis Mall! Sheesh!

One time I went to a local bank in a country in So America, ATM machines give $ 200 only so I went to a live teller and asked for $600, after she put my card through this card reader she tells me to punch in my code, I did, after few seconds she tells me the bank in the USA was not responding. I called B of A for my balance and I was short $600! I told the bank my story, they replaced the money right away! Hell, ATM's used give $ 500 for $ 5, now they charge $5 for $200!

I hear what you are saying Samu. But ATMs can be a hobbyist's best friend, can you imagine using all cash or traveller's checks on a trip for P4P? I don't think anyone does THAT anymore.
You just have to be careful with your usage, ATMs are handy for splurge of the moment situations.

Your are just limited by the withdrawal limits of the ATM you go to. Which is a lot lower than the limit of your bank.

I get equivalent of USD 300 per withdrawal from an ATM in Colombia. The restriction can be your own account's overseas withdrawl limit, as well as the ATM's limit.

Hey guys, I'm planning on returning to CTG in November, my usual airlines has changed its flights. So I'm looking at Avianca. I would have to go thru Bogota, it would be DC to Bogota, then transfer to a domestic flight to CTG. The flight gets in around 9pm, how difficult / time consuming is the customs process there, I'm concerned about making the connecting flight. Avianca seems pretty strict about there carry-on policy (which is usually all I do) , so I'm assuming I need to get my checked bag In Bogota go thru customs, then re check my bag. Is it reasonable to think I can do that in 1 1/2 hrs. There is also another flight that leaves 45min later. Which may be a safer bet, or should I think of another itinerary completely.

Thanks for your help,

By the time you get through immigration and get your bag and get outside to take the bus you might have 45 minutes left. You will have to wait for the free bus, then the domestic terminal is like the 4th stop on the bus route. Or you could always pay for a taxi to save you time. They will probably want 10K to take you to the Puente Aereo. There you would check in for your domestic flight and recheck your bag. Then go upstairs through security and to your gate.

Hey Dudes, I hope someone can give me the answer to this question. Wherever I go to have my fun I always end up liking the ladies and want to see them do well. I usually tell them to put a little money in the bank (while they can make it) and eventually buy a house or two, thus insuring a happy ending for themselves and their kids / family.

My question is what does that exactly entail in a country like Colombia. Do the ladies need to report their earnings and pay taxes or can they just put their money in the bank and someday but their own casa? What is required of these hookers (besides the actual saving of monies) to purchase their own house in Colombia? Anyone know?

Thanks

One can check through the luggage only with their direct affiliate airlines United (US) and Iberia (Europe) and of course with Avianca on inbound and outbound flights.

At least this was the situation 2 years ago. Otherwise one need to pick up the luggage in Bogota and check it in again for the domestic conncection flight or the international flight when you leave the country.

Sometimes it seems when a trip starts out bad it stays bad.

On my flight on Spirit to FLL as we were landing it was announced that we were getting in at terminal 3. Now Spirit works out of 4 so right away I knew I would have to go thru security again when leaving the terminal. They then announced that we would have to do just that. Go to terminal 4. Ok I had a little over an hour to make the flight to Colombia. It is hot outside, and I'm moving fast to get to security. Come to find out the Colombia flight was really at the terminal I just left. Much loud cussing by me as I head out into the heat again to go back to 3.

After much reading the board I felt LDV was not an option for me as I hated the idea of having to spend 100K on drinks just to have the honor of taking a girl out of there. Anyway I do love the atmosphere there so I went at about midnight just to look at the eye candy. Quite a few sharp women there, and not many hombres. I sit at the bar, and have a few beers. A chica comes over, and smiles at me. Her name is Lorena, and she looks exactly like Marisa Tomei. I brake down, and buy her a drink. She is quite a girl, and full of life. We end up dancing up a storm. After about 3 hours I have spent the 100K so now I find out her price. She asks 250k for TLN. I really liked her so I countered with 200K. Off we go to my place. I got a big scare when in the room she asks me for 2 condoms. Oh no I thought not the dreaded 2 condom wearing. No she laughs, for two times. Now I felt real good. A BBBJ was started but too many drinks had taken there toll. She told me sexo in the morning would be good. Now I figure fat chance on that, but when we woke up she was a girl of her word.

So now on to Santa Marta, and back to bad trip part. Seems the police have closed all the strip clubs, and casas. Real bad news as I love Bananas in Santa Marta.

Only thing left would be the SW on the beach in Rodelo. Get this none better than a 6, and every last one of them asking 150K WTF!

As they were below par I did not even try to get a lower price.

This brings me to make an observation that may not be too popular with some here, but here goes. Speaking of MDE I feel with this opening of the LL and all the Mansion girls there with their 150K price tag it is really going to make MDE not the place I knew and loved. Even now the Mayo girls (some) are asking 50K instead of the usual 30K. So these business men who are promoting all this 150K stuff are really going to bite us in the butt. Yeah I know some of you guys feel it is still a bargain compared to sex prison, but fuck that.

Go ahead boys fire away.

On Avianca for an International flight connecting in Bogota with a domestic connection I recently haven't had to claim my bag for customs at point of entry in Bogota and then recheck. I did this earlier this year traveling to Medellin from both Sao Paulo and Lima with a connection in Bogota. My bag showed up in Medellin with no need to claim / recheck in Bogota. No way. I have flown Avianca to Bogota with a domestic connection close to 50 times and every single time had to collect my bag and recheck it. Otherwise your bags would not have to clear customs, the smugglers would have a field day with a system like that, hahaha.

Hotel El Virrey in Bogota has always done this. I stopped staying there a few years ago when it got to be out of my price range though.Hi I will be visiting Bogota and was wondering if this requirement is universal? Do you have any hotel suggestions in the 150k. 250k price range. I seems Zona Rosa is central and safe. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks

I feel your pain. This is the natural course of events when there is lots of information out there on our "hobby." It's why some of the veterans keep quiet when they find a promising new locale.

80% of the population in Medellíand is young, with leaves us mongers with odds very favourable, it just takes some patience. 660 k COP is minimum wages 48 / week per month! Not per day or hour. Why pay for 1 week honest work for (maybe even a lousy) sex-session.

100 k COP incl. BBBJ.

Visit New Life and you get 45 min for 50k + maybe 20 for BBBJ with a hottie.

2012 More 15% of the small business in MDE where having serious problems / closing, at least 50% of the girls can't pay their Univeristy tuitions. 100 k COP is still a high price. There is no reason to go over that.

I thought of a max 100 COP FB page, we all mongers should earn from it or something like that and must somehow regain the respect we have lost by overpaying like crazy the last 5 years.

What will happen when the economy starts going well. Then TLN will be 3-4-500 k COP! ST 200 + 50 for BBBJ.

The mix rich short-time visiting Gringos that overpays with chash-hunting students / hookers spread the word around that there are easy money to make.

How will 10. 000 or 100. 000 paisas look 2022 when their plastics are starting to fall apart and their marketvalue doesn't allow them to by new surgery to fix it! That will be a sight!

Go ahead boys fire away. You are comparing apples to oranges.

The guys that pay 150K are looking for something different than the guys that pay 30 to 50K in el centro. They are looking for pleasant company and a GFE in the bedroom. A lot of the guys that pay 300K for "todo la noche" are paying for a diversion and haven't resigned themselves to paying for every single piece of ass that they are ever going to get for the rest of their lives. So the service and experience is a lot more important than the price.

I have met a number of guys that do not like Mansion girls and the reason is simple. They aren't getting what they paid for. They are getting a straight up sex act that can be easily had in the casas for 100K less.

I rarely go to day time casas any more. Most of the time I can't even find one chick that I would pay to bang. Last time I went I saw a couple that I would have probably banged if they weren't charging and even when I do find one that stands out enough to attract my attention she usually sucks in the bedroom. Every now and then you will find one that has potential and you can get her phone number and meet her outside the place and turn the sex from mechanical to "I can't believe a prepago just fucked me that good" but that is rare and look at all the time involved.

Mayo can be a bargain and you can find a hottie that is half the price of the Mansion. But most of the time I find nada, zilch, nothing at all that interests me. So you have to ask yourself is a night of wacking off worth the risk. If I stayed in Medellin for months instead of weeks I would frequent Mayo more often. But it just isn't worth the trade off for me right now.

And just how does price guarantee quality of service? As long as and in as many places that I have mongered, I have never known one to depend on the other.I hear ya. Price more than anything guarantees looks more than service that is for sure.

So nothing is guaranteed when is comes to service but odds are much better at the Mansion. It appears to me that someone is doing some kind of quality control at the Mansion and at least trying to weed out the poor performers (if nobody likes the *Hoe* she has to go). But I have had good experiences with a couple of Mansion chicks that I have heard other guys complain about. So I think it all boils down to chatting with the chicks a bit and getting a feel for which ones click with you before heading off to the bedroom. Something you can't really do in a casa.

Bar chicks are almost as dicey as casa chicks and waaay more expensive. Only thing that I have found to increase my odds of good performance with them is by just getting their phone number and setting something up outside of the bar. If they pick a night with you over fucking some random guy at the bar at least you know she likes you better than average. Jajaja.

There is no one size fits all. Some guys get hot chicks and don't pay a dime. Others are only ever going to lousy sex no matter how much they pay. The only thing that changes with the $$$ is how good looking the chick is the gives them lousy sex.

Pick your poison. But if someone can't tell the difference between Mansion chicks or casa sex than why would they ever pay more. And they will be continually perplexed with why other guys do.

Personally I think that if you are going to take the time and effort to look for highly attractive women that sell their ass dirt cheap and give great sex. You might want to take it just a small step further and look for a girlfriend. Wouldn't be much more difficult.

When I was in Medellin, I stayed at the Mansion for a week before moving on.

Never did a Mansion girl because I felt the price was to high for what you get.

Guys go there, can't speak the language to relay what they want or how they want it. They always want the hottest girl that has been busy all day with guys that think like them and they complain when sex is mediocre.

I myself don't need the hottest girl still dripping from her last encounter. I try to find the one I have some chemistry with.

The sex is usually a lot better and cheaper.

You are an wise hobbyist. It takes most guys years to figure out that there's little correlation between price paid and the quality of service. There is definitely a correlation between price paid and looks. Quality of service is a crap shoot where you can trade cash for a place that has some quality control (thus increasing your odds of a good time) versus spending a lot more time weeding out all the poor quality yourself.

The bottom line is the quality of service you receive is going to depend a lot on you and the kind of establishment you meet her in. At the Mansion where the girls have a lot of repeat customers and a bit of competition amongst themselves. There is quite a bit of motivation to give good service. But still some guys get no love from them. And I have even overheard some girls telling others what a pig some guys are.

The Mansion is not for everybody and for a lot of guys cheap anonymous sex in the casas is as good as it gets. While for others paying extra for a top notch piece of ass is not as risky as it is for some.

In a country with 50 million inhabitants there must be a lot of "Mansions".

Many of these 50 million are good looking girls in need for money.

Prostitution is widespread amongst every social strata, both servants and clients.

Here is my latest opinion. Go with the hottest girls in your eyes. If sex sucks, let it be, at least you enjoyed her beauty. Why settle on a distant choice in a perceived anticipation of better performance, when in reality sex with plain Janes often sucks too. Also, girls performance in many cases depends on men's performance. I go an extra mile with beauties and get rewarded with most.

Guys here complaining about price when they have the favorable currency, just imagine how local mongers must feel.

Paying $50-$100 US for an hour service is still attainable for us that earn in dollars, $200-$300 US for TLN also. I am just saying, I only make 36k a year, but shit those prices are still attainable to me, especially if one is only there for short period of time. And most here brag about being magnates and all, I don't see what is the problem with those price ranges?

BTW I agree that price does not correlate with quality in this specific subject. Women are not cars hahahahaha, a BMW is a better performing car than a Hyundai, but a $300 dollar pro is not a better performer than a $50 dollar pro, they are humans.

There are few things I find more enjoyable than having really great sex with an extremely attractive woman and I'm more than willing to pay extra for it if need be.

On the other hand having hot sex with your horny semi attractive maid almost always beats having seriously lousy sex with a model quality woman. So I understand where some of you are coming from.

However, ones own personal life experiences will dictate whether or not a guy falls into the cheaper is almost always better category or I'll pay extra to bang the hottest chick I can find because it turns out good most of the time category.

I don't want to get into a big argument about this, but I do think there is *some* correlation between how much you pay and the quality of the session and / or the looks of the girl. But it depends on what you value, and also how that compares to what the locals value.

And there is also certainly a strong correlation between how much you pay and the length of the session. That's one of the basic concepts in P4P right? Time is money. Just look at the printed price list in any casa, it's set by how much time with the girl. A TLN should cost more than a 15-minute quickie right? I can think of only one venue of the top of my head, Clinica de Dr. Amor in Cali, that has tiers depending on the looks of the girl; which of course is always somewhat subjective but is usually based on the amount of silicone in the girl's body, which is something that most of the local men are looking for.

But unlike the local men, a lot of guys that post here don't like the silicone look at all, which is something you have to take into account as local preferences can affect prices with certain types of girls in the well-known venues.

Another example: if you're a short-timer that's just looking for a hole to stick it in, than my long-session style would not work for you at all. You'd be better off prowling mayorista or centro for anything that doesn't look diseased. Wham-bam, thank you ma'am.

I prefer long sessions. 90-120 minutes. Many times, I start by giving the girl an awesome erotic massage for 20-30 minutes with special music that I bring to set the mood. That almost always gets her prepped for a great session afterwards with overtime a common occurrence. So the time I invest on her, I usually reap dividends, plus it's something I enjoy doing very much anyway; I get an erotic charge like no other simply caressing a woman's body, teasing her, getting her horny, etc.

So I don't mind paying a little more for a certain look or amount of time, within reasonable limits of course, and always taking into account what the locals are paying (it helps to know the language and talk to these guys once in a while, although you have to know how to do it in a way that they don't feel annoyed or threatened or weirded out).

Again, for most guys it's a matter of time. I can have a relationship with a woman in the US where I live. When I go on vacation for a week or so, I want to fuck hot-looking 18-25 year-old chicas. I don't want the hassle of a relationship and I'm willing to pay for that convenience. If I was in MDE for a few months, I would most certainly look for a GF. Hi Guys,

I am in need of a hotel for one night in Bogota, as Avianca has cancelled my late night connection to CTG. It needs to be relatively close to the airport as I am arriving at 9 at night and leaving early in the am. Is there any nightlife / club / casa / strip club near this area to entertain myself, or am I stuck sitting in my hotel room for the night?

Thanks for your help,

Total cost 2, 000, 000cop for 2 persons. Copa airfare only was about 60% to 70% of the total cost of what I paid for the "package", so the tour package was a really great deal. Calypso hotel booking thru "hotels. Com" was USD$220 a nite and our package was for 4 nites, so anyone looking at a San Andres trip check out the packages before booking air and hotel separately. We did the trip last February and were booked into The Blue Tone Hotel, Avoid, Avoid Avoid. Hotels. Com price about USD$180 a nite. Wud be overpriced at USD$70. RE "hotels. Com", sometimes same price as booking directly with the hotel, which I usually do because usually a better cancellation policy if needed, but sometimes I see a 20 to 30% discount with 'hotels. Com' eg. Cartagena Plaza hotel in Cartagena. I stayed there in August, I had booked one nite to check it out as I usually do even if I require 3 nites which wanted, for the second nite the desk price was 20 or 30 % higher, when I questioned them they said book online again with 'hotels. Com. Go figure, which I did for 2 more nites

No, there are a few nightclub areas in neighborhoods not too far from the airport, but they are only active on fri and sat night and there is no obvious P4p. Closest action would be some place like La Piscina en Santa Fe red light district. Strippers, p4p, drinking, around a swimming pool. But do NOT get drunk in this area. And have the doorman get you a taxi to take you back to your hotel.

I will be visiting all of these cities. I am not into the clubs or the Mansion. Does anyone have recommendations on chicas who want to earn a bit extra money but do not do this full time for a living. Perhaps, you know chicas that want to go out to dinner before some fun. Does anyone have any connections / friends?

It seems from your post hotel cost is not much for a night. Though I stay in Bogota and have a rented apt in Chico, I would like to do it in hotel or motel. Can you suggest a specific hotel with phone number or address?

Is it possible for you to provide me a contact number of a good GFE chica you have experienced in that area. I would like to call her for preferably TLN.

I do not speak much Spanish and originally from India.

Thanks in anticpiation,

LoveQuestIf you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay that is 10 minutes away from the airport and in a safe part of town then fontibon is a good bet. If you are looking for ambiance like the old 42 street of new york or a mini Pattaya like carnival then go to Santa fe at night. Santa fe has inexpensive places to stay but i would not recommend the area if you are timid and not street smart. If you are make sure you take a cab at night. If you want a 20 dollar shag in safety then check out the strip clubs in downtown Bogota. It is not an experience to be missed. I posted about it way back and someone followed up on my advice-and had a good time as well. With a 100 dollars you will run out of sperm before you run out of money. If you want fontibon specifics then dropme an email.Overall, Bogota is an expensive place.

In Argentina "Servicio Completo" was the term for Anal have not heard it used in Colombia. Nor Americano, "nino y nina" por sexy parts. The other seem to be actual Spanish words while not commonly used should be the same. My best advice would be to study and pratice basic Spanish and not focus on slang terms. When people hear you use them they assume you have a better grasp on the language than you actually do. Also with basic language skills you will have a more interactive and richer experience with the girls.

At Fred Gold, actually none of these words are used as said in Colombia. The best way to learn is to read a local sex forum in Spanish for each country.

When people hear you use them they assume you have a better grasp on the language than you actually do.So true. I think the best advice is to know Spanish slang and idiomatic expressions, but never use it. In fact, it's sometimes advantageous to have people think that you don't know any Spanish. I was once stopped by a Mexican police officer who wanted a bribe or propina. I smiled at him like an idiot and gave him a candy. He shook his head so I gave him another piece of candy. He walked away from me, but kept the candy.

The mentality in Perú seem to be the same as among Colombianas, it's normal for them to offer sex for money or accept and offer, to financce fashion accessoirs and clothing and the university tuition aand making it easier to bribe the professor if she has shows a classy style. That's thnings are run in Latinamerica. They loose 50% of their talents to the 1th world because of this student / teacher fucking in combinaion that US and European companies goes there and seek up the real talents and offer them to work for a payment that is modest for us, but maybe 3-5-10 times higher than Peruvian companies pay.

In general Perú in general, Lima and Arequipa, I lived there six months 07-08 was that the girls where exceptionally ugly compared to Colombianas from Medellín, while "rolas" from Bogotá are in the middle.

I was having lunch at Plaza de Armas in Arequipa one day, a fantastic place. I started to look for hotties, then I looked over the plaza, only to find a hottie. I did not see one! Amazing. Short, compact body built, few girls are hot. The P4P though had a place that I discovered just before going home, of course it was closed, but there it's said they have hotties for reasonable prices.

I visited and stared to fuck a Colombian girl, she was the hottest at the club, the others Peruvian normal to chubby girls. She, Silvia was a 9/10 from Calí.

Fabiola is a typical Peruvian with this quadrate body.

Perú has many things to offer, but girls who is really beautiful have the upper hand, while it is the opposite in Medellín. There it is super easy to get a model girlfriend, while it is imposible in Perú.

But you will find a good one, just needs more time and work, a lot more work.

2005 made my first long-time trip and stayed in buenos Aires as a base. Then perú. Since 2009 I go to Medellín, which has perfect climate and perfect girls and a progressive and modern attitude.

Perú is an anchor in the Latinamerican comunity of countries. They are the only country that really have, along with México, but much stronger in perú, that put strong emphasis that they are indians and mestizos. In Colombia they are ashamed of being indian, they look like pocahontas, but if asked, they say they have no indian blood, even if she looks like a reincarnation of Pocahontas! My friend here in Sweden married a Méxican girl, with very pure indian looks; black hair, black eyes, short, etc. So I said" there will be handsome babies of metixŋzos and a Swedish viking". They where offended. She explained that her ancestors where Spanish (LOL) , but it became embarrising.

Why be ashamed of being Indian, while it is so obvious. It's like a Barbie saying she is a Ken.

What latinamerica needs is normalisation, harmony in respect to there heritage.

Evo Morales, former Chávez, blacks in Brasil, must have chabge attitude towards themselves and in politics, towards USA. A normalisation, Colombia has come a long way on this rocky and long road. Just like México. In spite of the Drug War. But don't deny that you are indian or mestizo! I broaught home 10 fashion revistas from Colombia a few months ago. 90% of the models are European looking, almost Nordic looks! I hardly never saw sucha woman in Perú in 6 months! Those I saw where backpackers, not Peruvians.

One can just hope that this violent, conflict creating attitude diminish and that latinamerica find richness in exporting to The US and Europe and China and Japan. And also using the enormous advantage they have- they can offer a good life for a an American or European with a modest pension, including often private. Good health care.

But things doesn't seem to develop in that direction. The US and Canada is still to agressive in their industrail policy in those countries, especially mining. Aid and depreciation of huge debt to countries like Ecuador is a must. Normal politicians, with fundamental goals as free health care and education, insted of revolution and nationalisation of US companies, must come.

This is however only dreams, and it will be so for a very long time. Chávez in Venezuela collaborating with the 100% corrupt Kirschner in Argentina and naive Evo Morales in Bolivia, radicals in Ecudaor makes this continent unable to get loose of the ties that they have created for themselves and used by cynical American companies.

We looser, sex-tourist mongers would have to pay twice of todays prices, but strip joints and taxis would be serious, making your vacation, not a 2-4 week experience in which 50% of your energy goes to thinking of your security!

And you could find real girls, really interested in moving to your country, and the first thing, knowing that it exist sch a country and where it is located, and that have learned at least basic English. A phenomenen that strikes me is that all countries have English as mandatory subject in school, but only max. 5% can speak it properly.

Mal nutrition, and thereby lower IQ, since they can't afford nutrious food and milk is also a Catch 22.

At last, we find Latinamerica like a cultural union. But they have not had a seriuos war since the 1880s. 130 years ago. But competition with a country like Colombia and Brasil making progress in almost every area, can find themselves in deep conflict with failing neighbours like Bolivia, Argentina, maybe Chile while it's mining industry already has reach it's peak in the late 1980s.

A war in Europe or serious conflict seems far far away, the same for US / CAN / MEX. But while economc dominance is easier to acept if it comes from US investing, it seems much harder to accept investments and activites from your neighbouring country. That is a greater obstacle that we can imagine. Argentina is defeated once agian, fuking up their currency the 17th time since 1895! They despice both Chileans and Brasilians and will turn revolutionary red and nationalize their industries etc. When the frustration reach 1970th's levels!

Perú has many things to offer, but girls who is really beautiful have the upper hand, while it is the opposite in Medellíand. There it is super easy to get a model girlfriend, while it is imposible in Perú.Bullshit. I just got in from Peru a few hours ago. It amazes me how guys only deal with hookers then assert that ALL women from a certain place are hookers. Your statement that, " it's normal for them to offer sex for money" could not be farther from the truth. The only Peruanas that I have ever had to give money to were those at Las Cucardas and Trocadero fuck houses.

This time when I was down, a girl took the bus from Trujillo to see me. When she arrived in Lima she had to take a taxi to the hotel where we were staying. When we were out to dinner the next day I asked her how much the taxi was. She said 7 soles. When the waiter brought my change I handed her 20 soles for the taxi both ways. She refused to accept it. She paid her own bus fare both ways as well. This is my experience in general in Latin America, outside of hooker circles.

My ex-girlfriend in Lima is a manager at an international accounting firm. Every time that she has come to visit me in the USA she has paid 100% of her ticket. And the first girlfriend that I had in Lima had her own radio and TV shows. Whenever I came to Lima she would always pay for my hotel and pay every time that we went out. Once when her car was in the shop and she met me at the airport, she overpaid for a taxi to take us to the hotel. She paid $20 for the taxi. Afterwards I informed her that she should have only paid 20 soles.

The same thing goes for Colombia. I have never had to give a girl who was not a hooker money outside of getting back and forth in a taxi. And just like my example in Peru, most of them will not accept it. Start fucking with normal women so you will learn not to group the general population in the same boat with the small number of hookers with whom you have had contact.

Not really a place to go looking for pussy because ill have a regular girl with me. I don't want to take her to a prepago hangout just a cool loungy place to drink and listen to music. Not really into night clubs. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Think of a place youd like to take your regular paisa noviecita.

I have had girlfriends very good looking, especially in Arequipa, she had her own business.

I don't sat that every girl is a prepago, but 33% of the university students in Medellin do it. In Peru and Argentina they have other ways. The professor takes a day of, while his female student runs the classes, it is commonly so in public University of Buenos Aires. This I had been told by A-students an Bs As- a cultural pattern that upset them, and they want to leave their beloves homeland.

In Peru I encountered corruption in a way that one not from the 1st wolrd think it could exist.

No, hookers, gold-diggers are one kinf of females.

No. "Money is the world's greatest aphrodisiac"

Girls do it when you or her family have control of her. There are a huge number of semi-prepagos in both Peru & Colombia. They have 1-3 clients a week to pay for fashion, future plastic-surgery, etc. Big boobs and a tiny waist, and even greater butts as in some occasions is embarrising in the social world, but perfect for being a prepago, just like the men wants.

Social pressure makes him marriage to a 5-6 social level on Colombia 6 being the highest. Then he fuck around with prepagos. It the same mentality in all of Latin America. So it not wrong to hang out with either girls from 5-6 estrata, they see you as an investment oportunity and will be questioned about what you work, your salary, your level of society in the US.

There are an acceptance, even if it is descret man-man, but every man who can afford 100 Soles or 50-150 soles are doing it, singles, engaged, married.

It+s a 50-50. 50% of the good lookings would never sell their bodies, while 50% is all open, wanting the luxurious accessoirs they can buy and study at a private University. Or marry a in comparison, rich, gringo.

We are very clear about their goals and strategies about how much they can / want to work, what they will do with the savings. Only those, maybe +50% already have small children, for them they have the pressure on them, since a young female wih 1-3 kids are attractive to no extranjero.

Start fucking with normal women so you will learn not to group the general population in the same boat with the small number of hookers with whom you have had contact.

Try Sinko Bar on Ave Poblado. Across from CC Oviedo.

No."Money is the world's greatest aphrodisiac"

Only those, maybe +50% already have small children, for them they have the pressure on them, since a young female wih 1-3 kids are attractive to no extranjero.Yes, but this is not earth shattering news, seņor.

We all know and get it; there are many prepagos in Colombia, Peru and all over S. America.

Thanks for the update though.

I arrived in Medellin airport from LAX through Panama on COPA this morning. The migration agent told me I was over the 180 days per year staying in Colombia. They sent me and my luggage on the next COPA flight to Panama. I have been doing this for years, and it is possible that toward the end of the year I exceed the maximum allowed numbers of days, but usually they don't bother to count. I don't know if their new computer system detected this, or if I was unlucky and got a picky migration agent who decided to count the days. They did not want to talk.

It is all computerized. When they run your passport upon entry they find out all of your travel details within Colombia. I am at about 5 1/2 months per year so I have not had to deal with this yet. I have a friend that has been living in MDE for 9 months per year and he pays for the extra 3 months of residency.

Do not enter Colombia if you have been here 180 days per year without a visa.

Reports from the Medellin Mansion say some of their guests have been turned away at the airport. So it is not just me, their new computerized system counts everything. The Migracion agents did not want to talk, and it seems the eviction process at the airport was so rapid that they must have been doing it regularly.

You can get a student visa and take some classes and get a paper from the institute. First you apply at Migraciones in Bogota or in Medellin, there is an agency, TIC recommended by the student coordinator on UPB in Medellin. I got a student visa, with that it was no problem staying in Colombia 6 months. Cost about 300k COP. Or you can choose other forms of visa, that you have a certain amount of money, etc, a business etc. I think the Colombian embassy in the US can help you with that, or give you advice how to do it when arrived in Colombia.

I am considering retirement next year at age 54. Having visited several places in the world, I am giving some consideration to 3 places. Angeles city PI, Chiang Mai Thailand, or Medellin Colombia.

Having visited all 3 places several times in the past, and upon drawing up lists as to the merits of each location, I have one concern I would like to ask a Retired person in similar circumstance.

I would like to know your long term thoughts of living in a place that you have only visited on vacation, as compared to long term retirement living. More to the point.

1. In AC / Medellin for example, are you still going out hitting the bars 3 plus nights a week. 1 year into retirement?

2. Do most Expats end up hitting the Bars early in Retirement and then settling down with a steady GF after a few months?

3. Does what seem like a great place for vacation turn out to be a very boring place after a few months?

In essence, does the appeal of the "monger scene" lose its luster after you live there.

Additional data. Do not consider monthly budget as a factor when responding. Also. My plan is to always rent in all locations.

Not looking so much on Opine on location. But sage advice I. E. Short vacation vs long term reality.

You will not get bored there. They are many retirees in B. A.

I have not been to Chiang Mai, but the others I have been to.

Have any of you guys ever gone scuba diving anywhere in Columbia in addition to the usual monger activities? As Lmarcone said, the diving is in Taganga. I dove with Aquantis. I stayed in El Rodadero and took a taxi in the mornings over the mountains, through Santa Marta, over more mountains and into Taganga. Then in the afternoons I took the bus back, stopping to explore Santa Marta. The diving there is nothing to write home about. The P4P was scarce. There were a couple of girls on the beach in El Rodadero, but I think that has pretty much dried up. Also, in Santa Marta proper there were a few spots where I got short time. Search the Santa Marta thread for my reports and others that are more up to date.

Medellin Colombia is next on my list to visit but right off the bat and even without the visit, the crime rate or there at of crime disqualifies it instantly as a retirement destination.

PI. Cebu only, good value, can be done.

But CM trumps all. Not contest. How many times have you visited Colombia? What parts? What crime stats are you making this based on? From the time you come out of the airport you see police everywhere. In Medellin at every metro stop there is a police officer. Driving, walking, standing, and if they could you would see them in helicopters hovering. Colombia has become a very safe place. You have boasted quite a bit on the Colombian threads without being there to base opinions. In Barranquilla you would see police checkpoints on nice days looking for various things. At the beaches you have police, centro you might even see soldiers. You sir are misinformed and obviously basing your opinion on the 80's cartel days.

You wrote on December 16th that you are a newbie to Colombia. Since posting your newbie comments all you do is talk about antelopes and a lot of nonsense comparing Colombia to Asia or wherever you come from. What's the purpose of your trip? If you don't like Colombia then why go? Where is your posting history for Cebu and all other places you ventured?

Careful gents. I just went on the Avianca website looking for tickets for my girl in Barranquilla to come see me in Bogota in a couple of weeks. The site was set to United States. It gave me a price back of $128 each way. I was thinking that I have never paid anything like that for a ticket inside of Colombia. My research on San Andres has given me those kinds of prices, but never anything in the mainland. So I checked a far off date in February and it gave me the same prices. Then, I cleared my cache and went to the site again and set it on Colombia and it gave me a price of 87,000 pesos ($45) each way. What made me look to begin with is that I am requiring her to buy her own ticket. She told me the price was 290,000 pesos roundtrip through despegar.com.

I know they fucked us when we went to Macchu Pichu. You buy tickets for the place at the civic center the night before. If you are a student then it costs $20 less. Good LuckHe told me he had something new from Japan that everyone is using it is better than Alergan Botox and costs the same. So I went for it and t lasted less.

I said 'let's switch back to the Alergan. ' Guess what? It suddenly costs more.

He's telling me "Oh the muscles in your forhead are really strong, I've never seen anything like it". Yet when I get the shots in the US my forehead muscles are suddenly different and the stuff lasts 6 months.

This country wonders why it is imersed in poverty and why other countries refuse to open shop here and do business with Colombians. Sad but true.

I will be going through this process during the next month and will report back what I find out when all is completed. I have friends that have gone through the process and most have fared well and some have not.

The first step is to have the girl contact the US embassy in Bogota. She will be given dates to chose from that are approximately one month from now. Then she has to fly to Bogota to interview for the Visa. Over 90% of the time she will receive an answer then and there. I was told, by the Embassy in Bogota, that all tourist visas are good for 10 years. If accepted she will have the necessary forms mailed to her house in a few weeks.

The most important thing that they are looking for is that she has a good reason to return to Colombia ie. A good job, a stable family environment and / or kids, etc.

I have been told recently that the acceptance rate is higher that ever right now. We shall see what happens.

Nevertheless I will give you my insight regarding our hobby. For the most part I'm an open book and I talk openly about my travels. I have lost friends, I have friends who don't want to see photos or hear about my exploits and then a few that get a kick out of my life style. I would say 20% of my male friends don't keep in touch anymore. 60% of my friends do not want to hear about my travels and 20% are very interested. So that's my experience and I'm blue collar w / a varied bunch of friends.

I find it hard not to talk about it. Whenever possible I will challenge women w / my lifestyle and I will justify every aspect of it.

Respectful mongering is a very positive life style. There are millions upon millions of poor women and men who benefit from sex tourist and all are not sex workers. These benefits keep these poor people alive, out of the gutter, and enable them to have a chance of a better life.I agree that this should be in the General Info section yet you commented on it here without moving it to General Info. I am going to make a habit of moving my comments on things like this to the General Info section.

I like your 20/60/20 model which is probably somewhat similar for me. As far as telling American women about this hobby I would advice you to refrain from this or at worst don't talk about it much. Women will respect you less and it won't help your chances of getting laid with them. I have a friend of mine who tells women that he sees 2-3 girls every trip and he never talks about money involvement with them. This is probably a safe vantage point.

The majority of money being spent on prostitution in Colombia is by local Colombians. Only a very, very small percentage comes from foreigners. I am going to elaborate more on this with some statistics, from my perspective, that very few men who come to Colombia can see. I am going to estimate that at least 75%+ of the above average looking girls in the under average barrios will accept money for sex in their lives. Here is the part that most men can't see. Of this 75% at least 80-90% will only do it for a short amount of time or with a limited amount of guys. Most will never see a mp or stripclub. For most Colombian girls prostitution is quick fix to a desperate money situation. For others, a life of prostitution becomes a life for a lazy person and it reinforces laziness. Most of these girls have difficulty returning to normal jobs after they have established this routine for a while. Once they hang around for over a few months this lifestyle is filled with all sorts of problems and bad habits. Even the extra money that could be saved gets wasted on things that they don't need. I would advice you guys to not feel bad for them or guilty though. This is their choice. Hopefully you can be one of the better guys who they meet while they are doing this.

When I repeat with these girls I tell them my attitude regarding this. Surprisingly all of these girls respect my perspective and see me as someone who cares. I tell them that the girls that have the best lives are the girls who do this infrequently or only with a limited number of guys which is the truth IMO. Some of these girls take my advice and feel better about their lives after they reduce their exposure to this lifestyle and I receive the residual of great sex, respect, etc from them afterward. IMO this is the best win-win for all involved. To each their own and good luck to all.

I hope this sheds some light on a very complicated and misunderstood culture. VJ

One joint is mot the end of the world but more than one and you are asking for trouble. The dealer told me NO NO NO drugs are not legal in Colombia! Not even consumo but cops will look the other way in some situations ie. Like one joint. The rest you hear about legalized in BS.

Be safe. How many times does this have to be talked about on here? Small amounts of drugs are legal Colombia. There are plenty of articles discussing this on the internet and I have posted some on this site. Just google "drugs legal Colombia".

Artisttyp, you are not serious about taking the word of a drug dealer over the infinite amount of information on the web. I am going to be here for 5 of the next 7 months. Next time I walk by the police station I will stop in and talk with them about this so we can clear this up once and for all.

thanks for getting the general discussion in the right place bro. to respond to things regarding my world. speaking frankly to people in general women or men about prostitution is the only way change will take place. that's my rational, people in the us are living in a bubble and their only source of information is the media. the media is half truth and half propaganda and is directing the public in a decietful direction. big media wants to sell merchandise and steer public opinion and they do it well.

here as you know it is not legal for a man or a woman to pay for sexual favors. it is however legal to trick men into thinking they can have sex in a rip off strip club. sexually tricking men is legal here in the land of the free.

another example of the hypocrital us stance on sex is porn.

my city rents out a place called the armory to kink. com. the armory takes up a full city block and kink. com is a company that produces x rated videos and the like. the owner of kink. com pays actors to fuck and suck, whip and bind each other and sell xxx cd's, probably stream it out from it's web site as well. xxx made right in the middle of my city for money, and the city collects the rent.

they are having bought and paid for orgies galore but a simple lonely guy cannot buy some intimacy w a women.

how fucked up is this? it's extremely fucked up. no media coverage on that.

jose in colombia takes a bus to the casa and spends a small amout of his paycheck. his biological needs are taken care of and he relaxes at home w / his family.

joe in the usa gets his paycheck and goes out looking to get laid. spends 50% or more of his pay, maybe drives drunk bar hopping, maybe ends up in jail.

this happens hundreds if not thousands of time per day. joe is the guy who i want to help. the fucking hypocrital us government could give a shit about joe. from my life experience i see women as the main source of this hypocrisy. i don't want it to be like this but i can't deny my own objective observations.

also bro, the way things are going it is going to get worse for men in the usa. enuff said.

on the chicas for hire. i am always supportive. in the sack i'm a demanding romantic and they earn their dough w / me. that said i have much respect for working girls all over the world, not just colombia. they have made my life now in my latter years very nice, too nice. i'm am now wasting too much time on the hobby as i am doing right now. but i don't want to stop.

i don't feel sorry for any of them, colombiana, filipina, mexicana, etc. (as you said, you can be one of the better guys) i treat them w / respect.

a few months back i asked a question here on isg, medellin reports about advice on helping chicas invest their hooker money and no one responded.

not one smart guy here was willing to take a couple of minutes to give me advice.

i don't understand the banking and investment process in colombia or any other country except my own. but as you said these chicas have no clue as to saving or protecting their income. i'm sure there is government taxation issues, banking requirements, different savings vehicles for the ladies to take advantage of but don't know how to help them in this most important aspect of their lives..

i asked the pros on the medellin board and not a peep. so i don't know what to tell my amigas about saving for their future's out of this business. i think they deserve help in this regard if they want it.

so maybe you can tell me a little about how the girls can save (20%) their money thru the colombian banking system and what the requirements are. i wonder what the savings interest rates are in colombia. i'll try goggle.

oh well, shit happens right? .

Artisttyp, you are not serious about taking the word of a drug dealer over the infinite amount of information on the web.I absolutely do. I was out there for two weeks doing my thing with the locals. What happens in real life trumps all written laws. When the cops came you better believe people put out their joints. It was just like NYC in the 70's / 80's. It wasn't legal but cops looked the other way "if" you know how to play the game. Considering the entire centro area is a big drug den someone smoking a joint isn't the end of the world.

Sure walk into a police station and ask. That should be interesting.

Do you just read information on the web or do you actually 420 out in the park? Have you been in the park when the cops suddenly come through on motorcycles?

joe in the usa gets his paycheck and goes out looking to get laid. spends 50% or more of his pay, maybe drives drunk bar hopping, maybe ends up in jail.

this happens hundreds if not thousands of time per day. joe is the guy who i want to help. the fucking hypocrital us government could give a shit about joe. from my life experience i see women as the main source of this hypocrisy. i don't want it to be like this but i can't deny my own objective observations.

i don't understand the banking and investment process in colombia or any other country except my own. but as you said these chicas have no clue as to saving or protecting their income. i'm sure there is government taxation issues, banking requirements, different savings vehicles for the ladies to take advantage of but don't know how to help them in this most important aspect of their lives.

i asked the pros on the medellin board and not a peep. so i don't know what to tell my amigas about saving for their future's out of this business. i think they deserve help in this regard if they want it.

so maybe you can tell me a little about how the girls can save (20%) their money thru the colombian banking system and what the requirements are. i wonder what the savings interest rates are in colombia. i'll try goggle.

oh well, shit happens right? .

cheers broif you want to help joe just tell him about your experiences as a monger and tell him to stop wasting his time in american strip joints.

you probably didn't get a response to your question about banking because experienced mongers know that 99.9999% of working girls in colombia won't follow your advise if it is handed to them on a silver platter so they didn't want to waste their time, maybe i'm wrong but i don't think so.

banking in colombia is very similar to the usa with the exception that their is nothing like fdic, your money is not insured, if the bank goes tits up you are screwed. a girl can open up a savings account and once she has a few bucks she can buy something equivalent to c.d.'s and earn about 4.5%.

colombians, men or women are "yes" people, they don't like to argue or disagree so you will get many girls who will listen to your pitch and agree with what you are saying but at the end of the day the money outside of rent and food will burn a hole in their pocket until it is spent on shoes, makeup etc. i'm not criticizing them just telling it like it is. at the same time there are exceptions to every rule and i know a couple of girls that save money but they are far and few between.

Next time I walk by the police station I will stop in and talk with them about this so we can clear this up once and for all.IMNSHO. It really doesn't matter legal or not. This is Colombia. You won't get a straight answer anyway and if you do, are you really going to chance that it holds up in a "pinch"? Pun intended.

I know 1 foreigner personally and I know of 3 others who are currently in the hoosegow for drug related something or other. All 4 say they were set up by the cops, one says he could have paid out but didn't have the money. Yes larger quantities were probably involved. Planted? Even 3 are lying and only 1 of the 4 was a set up, I am not taking that chance.

Do what you want. My bottom line, have the stuff delivered by from a trusted friend / source, don't carry in the street and do it in the comfort of your own home. This advice was given to me years ago by US law enforcement family member. I know we are talking Colombia but it is just not worth the risk of doing time, even a little, missing a flight back home or losing your job.

If you do have tickets for Pink Floyd under the stars in Santa Elena make your girl or someone else carry. You buy. Or buy it there.

Play it safe is my motto, regardless of the "law".

I agree most girls cannot and will not save money but if I care about their well being I will tell them what I think they should do and why. And by the way I am not pitching them I am just a temporary friend w / a big mouth. Some people keep things like this to themselves and others will offer advice, I'm in the latter group.

One last thing, the reason there was no response to my original request is because most mongers only care about themselves and their buddies. They are hardened just like the pussy they sometimes complain about.

So no income taxes in Colombia?

First, I want to apologize to Artisttyp. I was commenting on someone else's post yet I put your name there? I don't know what I was thinking. You are correct, in that, this is Colombia. If they want to bother you they can. I couldn't be happier with the police situation in Medellin specifically. In my eyes they don't even exist. It is just like with the girls. Once you get the right mindset you will be ready to deal with the police if a problem arises. I would like to find out the official law though.

I agree with the post above with regards to girls and money. One thing I look for in my regular girls is financial discipline. I have found a strong correlation between no financial discipline and nagging. Don't nag them either. You won't be able to change these girl's financial habits.

As far as changing the habits of Americans I say good luck. I have not motivated one person to visit me that had not already traveled abroad. You can open the door to the prison and they won't walk out. They are content so I just leave them be. The first question I ask now is,"Have you traveled abroad?" If they say no I end it right there.

I have found that Colombians are "yes" people, to some extent, but I think that foreigners ask leading questions. I think the quality of the answer you get will depend mostly on the way you ask the question along with the IQ of the person that you ask.

I hope you don't think I was advising against you trying to give the girls some financial advise or even life lessons, I wasn't. I am just saying that it has been my experience that though they will sit there and show concern and interest in the subject at the end of the day they aren't going to heed the advise, the majority of Colombians for generations have lived hand to mouth their entire lives, it is embedded in their culture.

Yes, there is income tax in Colombia, I never really thought of the possible implications of a girl that earns all her money in cash dumping it in a bank account before answering your question. There are many ways around it just like in America but I'm not getting into it on a public forum.

Manizales is a great city and I make it my part time home, soon to be full time. It is home to the most colleges and universities per capita than any city in Colombia which means college girls by the shit ton, if you are young enough and have the game to pull non pros it is heaven on earth, I'm too old for that.

As far as casas and strip clubs there are four or five clubs in el centro but it is dangerous as hell at night, only travel from one to another by taxi, no exceptions. It makes el centro in Medellin look like Disneyland. I have only found one casa in nine years of going there and it closed but it was a gold mine and a half, the mamason had an "inventory" that was off the chain. I don't really monger in Manizales anymore as I have a novia and a few special "friends" and prefer not to crap where I sleep if you know what I mean. Pereira is a great city and a good place to monger but again, don't walk around at night.

Jaja, thanks for the info. I have a buddy that also likes Manizalles and lives there a significant amount of time, someday I'll check it out.

In the states you can't put a significant amount of money in the bank and watch it grow legally. By significant I mean adding funds over a 5 year period that will accumulate.

If I don't have the answer to the government requirements on income tax laws then I can't exactly encourage a hooker to save her money. Oh well, life goes on.

Independent Contractor I guess would do it. What would the tax liability be from a cash business/independent contractor. Does a independent contractor need a license? If prostitution is legal then they should have a right to declare income. Someone should about know this.

Thanks Manizalles, great info.

The systems that we have in America are nothing like in Colombia and none of this applies. The tax system starts at the upper class level and none of these girls are affected by it. The taxes are put into goods people buy and sell everyday along with the commodity businesses and import / export businesses. Extortion is also becoming more of an issue in Colombia over the past few years.

The far majority of the working girls you meet come from poor barrios. There is a severe financial strain in the poor neighborhoods of Colombia. The government is happy to watch these girls make their money and go quietly. The government and upper class will get their hands on it at some point anyway.

Also, Prostitution is not exactly legal. Every time you take a working girl to your room you are breaking the law. But don't worry because there are no laws in Colombia. Discretion and respect are all that matters. Just like with the small quantities of drugs law. In Colombia every possible law is being broken in an extreme way and at a high rate.

The income rates look similar to the US tax rates but I don't understand what this means, UTV[5].

Income Range in UVT[5] Tax Rate.

0 to 1, 090[3] ..... 0%

1, 090 to 1, 700 .....19%

1, 700 to 4, 100 ..... 28%

4, 100 .....33%

I assume it is the rate of income and the % of tax that should be paid.

So if the chica's making 600, 000p per week that adds up to 2, 4000, 000p a month. She could declare a quarter of that and be on the radar of the goveenment and be able to save 20% of her income.

Does that make sense for the system down there?

I think this would be good advice taken or not.

WShat do you think?

I've spent a lot of time in Colombia in the last 5 years, but my Spanish is still malo. I agree it is imperative to speak a decent level of Spanish. For those that have acquired that envious ability, what are the suggestions for the best way to learn to speak decent Paisa?

I've thought about classes at EAFIT or elsewhere, and their are a number of computer programs.

What is the best, amigos? I've learned over the years that in learning to speak a foreign language, everyone learns differently.

What works well for some, may not necessarily work well for others.

For me personally, the classroom environment just moved way to slow and boring, usually teaching to the lowest common denominator.

One thing for sure is, if you really want to learn a foreign language, you have to make it a priority.

Whether you learn better through books and / or CDs, classroom, tutor, Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, etc; you most definitely have to practice practice practice.

I remember when I first started visiting Latin America back in the 90's.

I fell in love with the latinas but couldn't speak to them. Frustrating for sure.

I've heard countless gringos say,"oh soon I'm going to learn spanish", and they're still saying it.
You really have to make the real decision to actually do it.

Some guys learn Tour Guide, Phrase book spanish.

I didn't want that to be me.

So I bought a concise guide to spanish grammar (no need to over-complicate at first)(I still remember the name of the book was Easy Learning Spanish Grammar), a verb conjugation book and of course a dictionary, and I practiced and made a fool out of myself for sure, but I learned.

I think you should study and practice every day, even if for only 20 minutes.

You have to keep your mind in it, especially when first starting out.

Find what media works best for you personally in learning a language, then actually jump into it, practice and make it a priority.

I have been studying for 3 + years and am still not fluid in conversation and this hurts my confidence. During my time in Med and when I got back home I was a little down because I wasn't laughing and joking it up w / the ladies like I really want to. So I thought this is impossible, I just can't learn, it's too hard. But when I got back I thought, nope, now I'm really going to try and now it is easy for me and every latino I hang w / that I am indeed getting better. The only way to fail is to stop trying. You can take time off periodically (from learning) but soon after you have to restart.

One of the reasons I am a slow learner is that I don't like to impose my bad spanish on spanish speakers. Some enjoy helping and others dread it. Some know how to help and some want to help but have no clue of how to. In Colombia I have found that the locals ARE really good at helping and like it that you are taking an interest in their language and culture. The mansion chicas for the most part would rather you learn before coming down jaja. I don't fault them for this, they are only interested in partying and our money, nothing more.

But they're vibrant and easy to be w / so of course you want to laugh and joke and show them whatever it is you've got that particular day. They are good buddies while you're paying, I love them.

I love the culture of latin America too. The food, the latinas, the dance, the country, the spirit and people in general. You can't enjoy it too much unless you can communicate in spanish.

So my first year of learning was w / a $20 tutor I met once a week at the city library. He was very good and got me started on the right path. Since then I rely on my favorite book, Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish (w / illustrations by Andy Warhol) pub. 1951. This book has everything in an easy to digest formula. I have it w / me all the time. I highly recommend it for learning casual conversation and more. It is the best book I've ever owned.

Next listen to latin music and TV w / english captions. Force yourself to speak to other spanish speakers in spanish, this is the fast lane to learning. For me I don't want to go thru the hassle (most times) but you have to go thru it to learn. The next conversation will be easier.

The hardest part now is listening and then responding. Jaja, sometimes it will take me 30 seconds to reply a simple yes (si). It can be very embarrassing too, like driving a car w / no reverse. I hate looking stupid but that is part of the process.

I started at 58 and now I'm closing in on 62 so my age doesn't help me but I don't give a shit about how statistically I'm at a disadvantage. I am learning and every week I hear or say something I couldn't a week prior. Learning espanol is probably harder then learning to play the piano so that motivates me too. Will learning spanish elevate me in the eyes of these chicas? Hell no but at least I can laugh at their jokes about me. :)

Ricker is spot on again. You have to make it a priority in your life. After that it's probably like riding a bike.

Here's the book that has really helped me.

i've spent a lot of time in colombia in the last 5 years, but my spanish is still malo. i agree it is imperative to speak a decent level of spanish. for those that have acquired that envious ability, what are the suggestions for the best way to learn to speak decent paisa?

i've thought about classes at eafit or elsewhere, and their are a number of computer programs.

what is the best, amigos?i don't post much but thought i'd add to this. i studied spanish for many years, tried several methods and what worked best for me was starting with the basics at first, learning the structure of the language itself. my goal was to become fluent. the masc / fem is simple in theory but can trip you up along the way. also the simple verb tenses can be daunting at first but once you have these basic tenses down you can apply them to "most" all other words.

i agree with ricker that classes are very slow. unless you need hand holding or are at the very very beginning are a waste of time. you can learn more on your own. also what he said about making the decision to really do it is so true. you'll only go as far as you put into it and it will take you a couple of years realistically to have some good comfortable basics.

what worked for me in the beginning:

books.

1) english / spanish dictionary, a must.

2) margarita madrigal's key to spanish.

very old book that will teach you the structure of the language. indispensable.

and then later,

3) spanish verbs: ser and estar.

and then later,

4) 5001 spanish verbs, this is a reference guide mostly which will help you advance once you have the basic language down.

5) i also bought some basic workbooks where i would fill in the blanks etc. just for an additional push.

in my opinion the advanced verbs are the hardest grammatical thing to learn. i spoke in the present and past tense only for years until i learned to use the advanced verb tenses, which i still don't understand all of them.

vocabulary.

learn even a word a day. over time your vocabulary will grow. you'll need it. you hear a word and wonder what that is in spanish. look it up, write it down, repeat it in your head. keep this up regularly forever.

comprehension.

the hardest part by far for me is understanding it when spoken to. you'll run across all kinds of accents, dialects and voices that it's overwhelming. i still struggle with this. strangely i find female voices easier to understand. (good thing ).

another tool i used was to listen to songs, watched spanish movies, and read spanish newspapers. songs you can get the words to and follow along while listening. this really helps a lot. movies with subtitles is also good. i learned a lot by watching betty la fea back in the day. no subtitles but the bogota accent is fairly easy to understand and it was fun watching, stupid but fun.

colombians are pretty easy to understand, even the costeņos. spaniards are by far the hardest, for me anyway because of their pronunciation and sheer speed of delivery. mexicans are also hard for me.

imersion.

you got to actually use it. you will offend people. i once told a girl in argentina, my cute argentine co-worker, that i wanted to sleep with her tomorrow all the while thinking i was just asking her to hang out tomorrow. i would have never thought that that simple phrase would ever mean that. i was there for work and this didn't go over well. i couldn't figure out why she gave me the stink eye (the bad kind) and avoided me over the next few days until i left. when i got back i asked a native spanish speaker and then realized. embarrassing.

5 years of this and if someone who doesn't speak spanish heard me speak they would think i am fluent, but i still struggle. mostly with the comprehension. it's been 10 years now and i don't study that much anymore, stopped the big effort 5 years ago but still pick away at it, and i leave the dictionary at home but i still write things down and ask people how to speak certain things.

i have a friend, use to go to ctg together all the time and he pretty much only speaks in the present tense."yo voy a la playa ayer"."i went to the beach yesterday". totally wrong but the girls get it and they understand. even the travel agent there could comprehend him and no jokes / giggles about his lingo so you don't have to be a master, just depends on what your goals are.

here's a tip though, some hindsight. when you start learning some and you are anxious to use it but you're at home and you don't really need it. you'll be tempted to start ordering your fast food in spanish, or chat with the gardner or the cute latina chick cashier at the whatever business. go ahead but what i've found is that this annoys them. they'll play along and be polite but use sparingly. better to ask them if you can use spanish with them for practice. just my experience.

there's also the slang. be careful. it varies from dialect to country etc. some slang and curse words can really get you into trouble, or really embarrassed even if you mean it as an off the cuff comment.

in short, there's no one method for everyone, and no single method. you'll need to be able to read, speak, hear, and know what you saying and hearing. in my opinion one should use multiple methods at once for a more rounded understanding.

i'm not an expert by far, but have managed to be able to learn quite a bit and in common everyday conversation i can get by easily anywhere.

I took two years in High School, have spoken in work situations and in travel for the last thirty years, and just finished two semesters of University level Spanish, and here's the secret: Bing Translator. Look- pick up Rosetta Stone or go pick up a class at your local community college for the basics, then start using it. There's all kinds of things that will make your Spanish better, but the only thing that will make you fluent is immersion and long-time use. You have to move past the point that you're translating from S to E in your head and actually think (and dream) in Spanish. I'm just getting to where I can do it sometimes. Bolonga and all the others have some great tips and I"the say they'll all help you Polish your delivery, but here's the best one- fall in love with a spanish speaking girl. I don't mean screw around, I mean fall in love. Once it's important enough, you'll figure it out.

So Socker PM's me this.

Maybe you can follow all of my post and clarify what I said. That would be very helpful to all the board members here.

I am honored.Socker, your post wasn't there as I was writing mine up and it's straight out of my head, not your post. We were writing ours up at the same time but you posted yours first. I did read yours though and it seems like we have similar paths in learning, which in my mind means it's probably good advice.

So, Socker, maybe you can not insult people who are lending something positive to the board.

Drugs here are decriminalized but not fully legalized. Posession of up to a certain amount on the street is legal. They can't come into your place and bust you without a warrant obtained by probable cause that you are dealing. But you also can't just smoke a joint on the street and blow it in a cops place. Consuming in a public places is still illegal, and it's a more serious charge if there are minors in view. If they catch people 420ing in a bar, they will permanently shut the bar down. There are of course places where LEO doesn't go.

The banking system here is completely different than the US. It can be hard or impossible to even open a bank account, depending on which bank you deal with. Colombian credit cards don't work at all like US ones. They aren't revolving credit, you have to pay them back on stricter terms. Interest rates are higher, both for taking out loans and for getting interest on your accounts, but they are plummeting just like everywhere else in the world. A lot of things like bankruptcy rules are very different too. A business that has debts equal to more than 50% of its assets can be considered legally bankrupt here. And developers have to have 70% of units sold before they can break ground on a new project, which is why pre-construction apartments are such good deals here.

you don't have to be a master, just depends on what your goals are.Hi Bologna, thanks for the tips. I am trying to learn some Spanish for my first trip to Dominican Republic next January. I'll order Madrigal's book from amazon. Com and already delved into Spanish for Dummies. I've also joined dominicancupid. Com and have gotten some "hits" from some busty beauties there who only speak Spanish so that is my motivation: to able to converse with some Dominican beauties who I hope to bang when I am there.

Baloney,

Because you don't seem to have any original thoughts you should stick w / very infrequent posting. Your post mirrors my post almost verbatim so what am I suppose to think except that you are rewriting my thoughts on the subject, like a freaking schoolmarm who needs to correct others and has zero character. At first I thought you were just a schoolmarm (maybe well intended) but now I think you're a loser. You're a wuss that could not reply via pm about your

Plagerism. You think exposing my sarcastic pm will garner you credit. Bro, that's exactly what you need is credit or credibility.

You could of PMed me but you're a misguided wuss. That's my opinion and you can rewrite it if you like.

We've all had similar experiences in learning the language, and unique experiences and perspectives as well.

Really.

Ricker, Baloney, MiamiSammy, and Socker, thanks to each of you for taking the time to give me some great advice. Baloney's comprehensive writing was especially helpful, and reading Socker's personal experiences in his improvement of his Spanish was insightful because I've had some of the same feelings, although my Spanish skills are not nearly as good as any of you guys.

What I understood loud and clear was that I can't continue to be so lazy and undisciplined when it comes to learning Spanish. Reading about all of the effort and devotion to learning the language that were written makes me feel like such a loser. I've ordered a good Spanish-English language and have a kindle version of Madrigal's book and I'm going to "just do it." Besides the obvious benefits, it will be good exercise for the mind.

Again, thank you. Man, I was just feeling a lot of good energy, jajajaja

They're easy to find in any town in the US, especially college towns and are the best way to improve your skills. Look in the paper or just call the Spanish department at your local community college. They're generally free and often there are several different times every week, depending on the size of your town. It's basically casual and formal Spanish students sitting in a group and just talking in spanish. You've always got better speakers to help you improve, and they can also help you on the little subtleties that help make you a more natural speaker. The real key is that learning a language is like exercising- as long as you keep pumping iron your guns will grow. When you hang back, U-turn back into a 98# weakling. When you're a 98# weakling, the other guy gets the girl. Don't let the other guy get the girl. Learn you some serious Spanish, dude.
