Ricker, Baloney, MiamiSammy, and Socker, thanks to each of you for taking the time to give me some great advice. Baloney's comprehensive writing was especially helpful, and reading Socker's personal experiences in his improvement of his Spanish was insightful because I've had some of the same feelings, although my Spanish skills are not nearly as good as any of you guys.

What I understood loud and clear was that I can't continue to be so lazy and undisciplined when it comes to learning Spanish. Reading about all of the effort and devotion to learning the language that were written makes me feel like such a loser. I've ordered a good Spanish-English language and have a kindle version of Madrigal's book and I'm going to "just do it." Besides the obvious benefits, it will be good exercise for the mind.

Again, thank you. Man, I was just feeling a lot of good energy, jajajaja

Most here have a clue, some do not.

Thanks Legal Tender for having more then a clue. Good luck w/ the spanish.

Yo!

Is there a driver or guide topic? I thought there was one but did a quick scroll down and did not see it. Please feel move this to the right topic if possible.

Anyway my Buddy is a taxista. Good dude, honest, good peoples, as dependable as a Paisa can be, and want's to offer up his services. He has the hook up with like 10-15 girls he can introduce you to, the hook up for all sorts of party favors, and knows the lay of the land so casa trips are not a problem.

He asked me about rates. So let me ask you guys. How is this done usually? Is there a flat rate? Daily hire? I'm just trying to help him out with some clients on the slow days and stuff.

If you want his contact info LMK and I'll speak up for dude as being reliable and trust worthy.

Limited English but he has an app you can talk right into and it spits out the phrase in the correct language.

There are a ton on the word / pdf in the Medellin list. Same list as the casas strip joints in the bottom.

I challenge that this forum is for sex in Medellin only. Certainly that's the primary function, but the auxillary information about places to stay as well as what to eat and what not to eat is all part of the deal. No, I don't want this to turn into the Food Network, but I appreciate the additional information in one place, rather than trying to glean little bits and pieces from all over. For those of you who support more relaxed parameters of discussion, thank you. For those purists who don't eat and sleep on park benches, I'm in awe.If you want a dysfunctional Medellin Forum then continue w / the mish mash that has been going on there for several months. It's not about anyone's personal preference it's about functional or disfunctional. My guess is that actual "on the ground" information is less then 5% of the Medellin Forum content. The "who, where, and how much" is about 5%, the other 95% is general information. So if this is what the guys here want then so be it. The dysfunction of the forum will not hamper me that much, it is embarrassing for some reason, I guess because I have respect for the guys on the forum. But why do they keep throwing empty pizza boxes on the floor to the point the forum is unusable? It makes no sense.

Page after page of telephone info, restaurant info, Wendy in Miami, drug enforcement, immigration policy, hotels, learning espanol and much much more extraneous issues that have no connection w / the,"who, where, and how much" in the Medellin mongering scene. Like I said in another post regarding newbies getting info on their own, RTFF is not a practical quick learning tool, or a way anyone can get to info such as "who, where, and how much.

This is my opinion, all the extraneous issues fall under General Information. The simple fix here is general information belongs in the forum, General Information. (I know, I'm a genius)

If guys have the where w / all to post in more specific forums I / e hotel, food, political, living in, then by all means post away. But the simple easy fix is throw everything in General Information.

As it is now, the Medellin Forum is a joke, a well intentioned dumping ground of international topics. If that's what's best for Medellin mongers well then carry on bros.

I'd suggest that the "General" heading as it's currently designed is for General information about Colombia. Maybe Medellin needs to have a sub-category of "Medellin: General Info" to avoid confusing you. I get the whole functional / dysfunctional thing, but you lost me with the pizza boxes.

More general info.

If it pertains to Medellin pussy directly then it should be in the Medellin Forum.

That means most info about the Hotel Medellin Plaza, that means all mongering clubs I / e Liquid Strip, or non pro clubs where guys want to get lucky, everything that has to do directly w / getting Medellin pussy should be on the Medellin Forum.

General gossip (Wendy in Miami) , great restaurants, good / bad doctors, hotel prices and GF policies, safety issues, drug issues, are all not directly connected to Medellin pussy hence should be in General Information.

I'm sure there's more ways to clean the place up and make it more usable for the new or veteran guys that come in but that's all I can think of now.

For the Medellin Forum to improve it doesn't have to become perfect but it will need guys to stay on topic and police themselves from time to time.

Okay, other fish to fry.

I bounce between the Medellin, Jakarta and AC forums. One out of these 3 forums has mostly general information, while the other 2, Jakarta and AC have relevant current pussy hunting info about that particular town. The Jakarta thread just says,"Jakarta" and yet the guys there stay very close to,"who, where, and how much". Here in the Colombian Forum the Med thread says distinctly, Medellin Reports". Now for me that means trip reports, it's not vague, Medellin Reports, it's very clear. Some might think it should read,"Medellin Specifics" but it doesn't. It reads, Medellin Reports but what is plain and simple to some is convoluted to others. Why? Only nature has the answer. A portion of the Colombian mongers do not care about site integrity or ease of use, they only about who wins the debate.

My reason for throwing away valuable time on this is to make it easy to find the important details. For me the important details are, who, where, and how much. That is Jackson's intent on every forum and by filling the main thread in a forum w / extraneous gossip and back and forth back slapping page after page is not quality. A few here will defend it. Why? Because it's easier to be lazy on the front end and just post everything in one thread. The one thread that is being wrecked is the most popular thread by 100%. The Medellin thread has 14, 000 reports, next highest is Cartagena w / 6, 000.

I also think this discussion is a good thing (not necessary in other forums tho) because both sides of the issue have valid points. My firm belief is that the Medellin Reports should be less convoluted.

How to do this in a practical manner? Every post should start out about the, who, where, and how much. Anything that is directly related to that and comes up in a TR belongs on the Medellin Reports forum. What does not belong are post that have no, who, where, and how much. So if Gungadong is in El Centro checking and partaking at the casas and he finds a gem of a restaurant and it is included in his TR it belongs in the Medellin Forum. If Gungadong makes a post asking where are the good restaurants in El Centro then that is complete Bullshit.

It's that simple.

The best argument against fixing the Medellin Reports forum is that who wants to put every different topic in the right container. I agree w / this, it is a pain in the ass to post in all these different forums but if and when one can that's what they should do. It's that simple. I will try and do this as well.

My method though is using General Information because it is easy and a fun read once inside. So what's a better system? Throw very bit of info in the Medellin Reports along w / gratuitous heaps of back slapping? Or cleaning it up a bit and posting general info (all of the above) in General Information. Posting, who, where, and how much in the Medellin Reports. There will always be additional info attached to the,"who where, and how much" because it's part of the meat of the issue. The meat belongs in Medellin Reports as it is w / most other forums where quality info is exchanged by guys who want to help each other live it up.

Like Jonsie said, there is no perfect solution. Rational thought will hopefully win the day. It's a no brainer, the Medellin Reports should stick to the subject matter. Who, where, and how much is the pussy.

Good Luck...

The problem seems to be that nobody really seems to care quite as much as you do. Give it a rest. It's actually comical, a debate on where to place your reports, ideas, opinions, etc within the forum.

Ideally, Socker is obviously right. Posting in the various sections, like Hotels, Food, etc would be great. Would keep information, reports, etc organized.

At times guys do make their posts in the corresponding sections, however, as we know, the main Medellin forum does go off on it's tangents LOL.

I don't think it's anything to get upset about or rave about really.

When things start to go off tangent, anyone can post that they're moving their reply to the appropriate section and Viola (wala) , the conversation usually moves.

The newbies, just like the vets did when new, have to weed through and find what they want, and then again, the Medellin Lists section usually stays fairly relevant, and that's what'll get ya going in the right direction.

Have fun amigos!

PM or reply- if nothing else lets share a beer and compare notes once we get down there.

Crime in Colombia. An interview w / the Cali mayor. Interesting insights from Rodrigo Velasco the mayor.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/07/13/they-could-have-killed-me-very-easily-a-colombian-mayors-fight-against-homicide/

HP: You, as a public figure, were somewhat insulated from direct intimidation by the cartel.

RGV: Right. For example, I never accepted [their repeated proposals to meet with them]: I would say, "Well, any city problem that you would like to discuss with me? Welcome.… The moment that you need something that I can solve, I will talk. The moment I need something that you can do, I will let you know…" I never saw them or met them.

HP: They were willing to accept that approach?

RGV: They accepted it, reluctantly. They could have killed me very easily. It would be peanuts. But they said: "We, the Cali cartel, are different from the Medellin cartel.” They have highly educated people, U.S. graduates in business. So they follow the Italian Mafia concept of threatening and bribing, rather than killing.

ThanksWhere to start? Long distance almost always never end up well.

How often do you visit her? Anything less than every other month and you get to "what's the point?"

Red flags:

1. Does she have facebook? If so, who are her friends? Prepagos? Gringos? Very bad.

2. Does she have a full time job? If not, what do you think she's going to be doing with all that free time?

Testing I normally don't like because it never ends well for a relationship. If you must, have a friend chat her up and see if she buckles.

Before you even consider getting her a visa. Stay for an extended period of time (maybe a month) and just observe for strange calls, hanging out with friends etc.

Good luck!

ThanksIf you don't live in Colombia it's guaranteed that she has a local novio, one can't expect a young hot blooded Colombiana to go without sex and male companionship while you are gone.

That said, the way to find out is to befriend some local guys that know her but aren't that close to her and take them out partying on your nickel a few times and then sit him down and tell him you'll bring him a gift from the U.S. if he can give you proof of her infidelity, don't ask him to find out IF she is sleeping around, this will make you out to be a fool because even if you don't think that she is doing it, the local guy KNOWS she is.

I wouldn't put any faith in anyone.

Best bet is put your faith in 75. 00 bucks for a good time with an LDV Chica.

No Mr. E she works full time 6 days out of 7 in a restaurant in Bocagrande.

I might be a newbie but never in my life I'd put any faith or hope in a LDV chica.

I was talking about a visa for the united states. The trip to Mexico was just to help her get some travel history since she never travelled outside Colombia.

I appreciate the advice Manizales but she won't know where I'll be sleeping and also I doubt she'll do anything that could ruin her chances to come over here which is something she desperately wants.

Luckily for me my cousin is a computer tech genius so we've been through her emails and found the jackpot.

She'll need to fool the next gringo and with her beauty it won't take long LOL.

Came back last week in one piece!

Got two thirds of my money so I can't complain.

From what I heard she nearly fainted when she realized I was in town according to one of the waiters working at the restaurant.

But the worst part was her not even wanting to admit it and begging me to let her show me her love or that someone else wrote the emails using her hotmail address or that she is so afraid of God she would never cheat on anyone etc.

LOL it was pathetic and sad.

I have been silent for a while now, but I really don't understand these Cheap Charlie remarks. I have been to most of Latin America, and have been mostly a Budget monger, but at times in Lima (Davids girls) , and in CTG I pay the 150K in LDV. Also one time in BAQ (trip reports # 792, and #793) I overpaid. I really mentioned those two reports as it was one of my best experience's, and you guys might find it a good read after my moaning here. LOL.

Well lets get to IMHO the heart of the matter. Who causes more harm in the Monger Community? Is it the guys who offer girls they know from past trips for 200k on the ISG forums. Is it the guys who say " Hey I'm on vacation. And I don't care what I spend "? I don't see these fellows getting degrading labels. It is a free world when out of sex prison so men can do as they please. That is great.

I noticed for me that overpaying just did not make sense to me. At first I would give 20K for the BBBJ, but one day I had no change, but a 10K note. I gave that, and the smile I got was just like it was 20 K. My last trip to MDE while in Mayorista I noticed the selection was terrible compared to years past. A lot of Grandmas, and Gorditas. It seems the better girls are on the Social networks, and getting top dollar that way.

Maybe if someone can come up with a label for the top dollar guys I will get off my soapbox.

If you are a big spender or a Budget Monger I wish you all the luck in the world.

I notice that the limit on cigars is 50. Even the USA lets you bring in 100. That sucks if I stay for a month.

I was thinking of bringing 100 anyway or bring 50 regular size cigars and 50 or so cigarillo size cigars. I wonder if they would be able to tell (or would it matter) that they are cigars but in cigarette size?

Has anybody offered to pay tax on declared goods and is it worth it?

Thank You for the information.

Has anyone had Colombian immigration give them more time than the 180 days per year on a tourist visa? I've been here since January, only left the country for 2 days and by my math that should put me at 180 days on July 1st. When I extended my visa at immigration in Medellin they wrote in 26 Juli 14, which I take to mean July 26th. That is definitely over 180 days so will immigration at the airport catch that if I tried to leave on July 26th? The extra days would be convenient, but not if they hand me a nice fat multa on the way out.

I guess I could go back to immigration and ask them but since it looks like they goofed up in the first place I'm not sure I will get a correct answer out of them. Does anyone know if the computers the immigration guys swipe your passport through automatically flag something like over 180 days on a tourist visa? And would it be a good enough defense that immigration stamped my passport with the wrong date? I can see them saying "yeah we gave you more time than you are allowed but you should have known you dumb gringo. Here's a multa for a billion pesos".

I should just play it safe and leave on July 1st, but an extra week or so really would work out great. That is if I don't have to pay out the ying yang on the way out.

If you enter the country over 180 without proper documents you will not get in.

In your situation I would leave on July 26th. I have had friends that have done it many times. These guys have entered the country with minimal time, let's say 2 weeks to 6 weeks, and applied for extensions and received them from immigration for 60 days. Upon leaving, no problems. The airport is going to see a form stamped from immigration through July 26. You applied for an extension and received it through this date. You can always call immigration and ask them what date they show you good through. I would not alert them and lead them to this error.

I am going to be up against it this year. If return after late August, which I don't plan to, I will have 15 days left. I will immediately go to immigration and apply for extension. I have nothing to lose. If they give extra days I won't hesitate to take them.

On a different note, I stayed 100 consecutive days once and knew I was over the limit. All I needed to do was go to immigration to apply for extension. I was too disorganized and never made. Paid two fines which totaled $280. I read a few articles online that stated this would happen and it did.

Don't hesitate to call immigration or US Embassy offices to find things out and ask "off the record" questions. Be vague and don't give your info. Present your situation, of them stamping over by less than a month, and see what they say. I actually tried to call a US Embassy abroad today but they were closed for Memorial Day.

No guarantees when you are finding loopholes. Buena Suerte.

That's what it seems like to me, that if they stamp my passport through July 26th, that I should be good through July 26th. But then again this is Colombia, and what I think doesn't count for much! I do recall now that the lady even told me when I was at immigration that I didn't have 90 days left, then she goes and gives me like 100 days.

Hey gents, Member here on ISG and for years have been looking to take a step from good ol Tijuana to something more distant and thrilling. Even contemplated Thailand, but as luck would have it I got word at work that I will need to be in Colombia for 2 days on business! I am still in awe and really excited. I will have a partner but after 2 days he can head back or do whatever the hell he wants because I sure as hell am staying a few more days and take advantage!

Here is the question, I will be in Medellin and not sure if I should stay there or take a flight to Cartagena or any other place in Colombia. I have Read the Forum and know there is good action to be had in Medellin.

Keep in mind I would be a complete rookie and have never been to Colombia.

Pros:

I know spanish.

Not new to mongering.

Cons:

Going solo.

Have 5 days only.

Never been here and do not know where to stay or where to go.

Obviously I will read more and more from the forum, but any advice for this Colombia newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Cartagena would be the last choice. Because it is too time consuming to find action.

If you are working in Bogota, start there. There is much to see and do there. See my lists and maps for action.

If you look on the List and Maps you will see that there are very few places to find action.

Most of the action is at night.

It is also more expensive.

It is a tourist and port town, so prices are higher.

I do like Cartagena for tourist things to see and do.

I will be staying in Medellin. So from reading up it seems that I should just stay put since it seems a good place.Yeah, that's the best plan. There is only about one day's worth of general sightseeing stuff, so that plus nightime activities make a two day Medellin free time perfect. (I assume that the two days are free time, in addition to your work responsibilities). Cartagena is a nice tourist desetination, but very mediocre for punting. Its not worth the effort. Save Cartagena for another trip in the future. Paisas are better anyway.

Make sure to go on the Pablo Escobar tour. Not only is it interesting, but its also a decent general tour of the city.

For the inexperienced especially, can be much more expensive.

I like Cartagena, and have fun there, for me however, it's good for a couple or few days only.

You can find a hotel in el centro. There are plenty and that puts you within walking distances from casas for day time and also strip clubs for night time. All you need is to print out the map and go on casa run.

If you only have 2-5 days, that is what I recommend.

My 2 c cents worth is that the final match will be Brazil vs. Argentina with Brazil winning. These 4 European teams have been very strong in this world cup.

I consider them stronger and more apt for the last round than both Brasil and Colombia.

Germany is both individually and as a team considerded superstrong.

France has been re-born and now, finally, plays according to it's normal high standard.

Colombia will not survive the Brasil match.

Argentina will fall against tuff Belgium or even harder Holland. Believe me!

France or Germany will immediately stop a Brasilian team that, considered the hitherto opponentes formal mediocre strengths, not works as a team, in sharp contrast to Germany, who's play flow like Beethoven music.

He was 35 or so and he moved from the bay area to Tijuana 15 years prior.

He said the money making is better in the US and the living is better in Tijuana. I think he had a few kids and probably lived well away from the zona. For me there is an honesty I feel in other countries that I don't feel anymore in my own country.

I have childhood friends that have left the USA to live else where in peace. Far far away from the maddening March of political correctness and the manipulation of reality by the media and special interest groups.

The US is my home but it has truly lost it's way imo. It's not easy for me to stomach my hometown on a daily basis. When I cross the border, Tijuana reminds me of my hometown in a simpler time because of it's blue collar roots and the freedom the individual has there.

For me I'll retire (part time) in a country run by men like my country used to be. That's the ideal if you enjoy personal freedom, far away from big brother and the nanny government.

One thing I've noticed (over the years) is that countries and high schools have a Rah Rah mentality. We're the greatest!

In my country women have forgotten their way. They have it all now, power, money, a majority vote, and power over men. They have won the battle of the sexes.

Eventually this will come back to haunt them. IMO.

If you have a USA based cable TV account sling it to Colombia then hook your TV up to your computer and / or Apple TV or similar device. It will also allow you to watch on an Iphone and IPad.

I just back from a week in Cancun with my Colombian girlfriend. Colombians need a passport to enter Mexico and this easy to obtain. She had to go to two places locally in Medellin and the cost was about $100 USD total. She had to return to one of the places a few days later a pick up her passport. Very easy.

I had read of a few instances where Colombian women were denied entrance into Cancun. I was advised by another board member to have her bring at least $500 so she had $900 upon arrival. I had no problems with immigration. A few basic questions and on our way we went. It was nice to have the cash on hand upon arrival though. Great trip but I would not return. I will take South Florida and The Florida Keys in a second over Cancun. My girlfriend needs a Visa to enter the US though. I want to add that I am 40 and my girlfriend is 29. Also, on my trip to Cancun, and my previous trip to San Andres, I only saw one couple where the age gap was 25+ years involving a Gringo. I saw this couple in customs in Cancun. Unfortunately, they were way behind me in the line so I can't say if they made it through or not.

I was required by Copa Airlines to show proof of my return ticket to the US from Medellin. This happened in the airport in Cancun upon trying to return to Medellin. A manager let me use a computer to access my emails and print out my itinerary. If necessary I would have purchased a fully refundable one way ticket from Medellin to the US and then cancelled upon arrival in Medellin.

The next step for me and my girlfriend is to get a tourist visa to the US. This process should take less than a month. I was told that the acceptance rate currently is a whopping 85% and all tourist visas are for 10 years. I will report back either way. I want to add that I am not looking to get married or live with my girlfriend in the States any time soon. The goal is a couple of short visits to the States per year.

How is her financial situation? Does she have a good job? Is her family well off (owns a house at least)? Does she have money in the bank? If she is a poor barrio girl, I don't think she will get a visa. The guy at the visa place in El Centro says the current acceptance rate is a whopping 85% for tourist visas. I spoke to another guy here that is pretty well connected and he says that Colombian girls are getting into the US easier also. Need to fill out an application online, print it out, and bring it to El Centro. Cost is $165 and needs to be paid in El Centro. Every person is accepted and then a date is set, normally in about two weeks, in which all applicants are required to travel to Bogota. The decision is made that day. All tourism visas are good for 10 years.

I have heard that the most important thing, in being accepted, is stability in Colombia. Having a family that lives in a decent neighborhood, kids, good job, bank account, etc. Obviously the thing that they are screening for is Colombians not looking to return to Colombia.

I will report back after the process either way.

The Colombian Cupid sites are a no win, putas posing as regular girls, saying they are looking for a meaningful relationship and marriage. This so they can get the tourist to fall in love and send money every month. Bring up sex for your vacation and prices come into the discussion- The puta is always a puta.

There are casa girls and mayorista girls on these sites and when you contact them on the site for sex they are wanting to charge LOTS of money. Yet you can have her at the casa, no dinner, no presents, no waste of time, for 35K. And you are not walking the streets with a known puta. The girls on these sites totally play the dumb tourist. Which is why the vets and smart new comers don't even discuss these here. Until now. Don't waste your time, go for the done deal.

Sad thing is tourists come down looking for a wife, fall in love, send money every month, get married, start singing "My Girl" by the Temptations, bring her back home and after she gets citizenship she bolts, was fucking other guys the whole time before and afer and you are left paying alimony and singing Smokey Robinson "The Tears of a Clown."Yes. And No.

Among the most pretty one's they are either fake or golddiggers. A vast majority are like that.

Among the normal looking girls the half might be Golddiggers, or just plainly are asking for money after a short personal presentation and act that it is normal, while the bad reputation of Medellin and Colombia thus remains at "hookers and drugtraffickers paradise" while the other serious half, luckily unaware of this, looks for a normal relationship.

It's like a pyramid. The more beautiful, the more risk. Colombianas have amongst them a minority, but a very active such, of girls that are total psychopaths. It's incredible, but's it's a real social phenomenen! Meet one or two, just for the experience, for example at the 100% hoax site Amolatina. What you will experience with Amolatinagirls is what to be expected thereafter, in various versions. And; Yes, you can be a handsome guy! These girls don't care at all! They are like Cobras, focusing on killing their pray, wihtout any wish neither ability to feel some sort of empathy for their victim. The money goes to plastic surgery and luxury consumption.

All / Even local men say the same thing. I have several Medellin friends that avoid the local girls, even though they consider the girls to be along the most attractive one's in the world! Why: because they are always looking for money! You can't have a real relationship. That's the price of beauty in Medellin. It's good for us "putoneros", we just love to pay for sex, and then, fully relaxed, focus on something that has real value, while the prepago runs to Studio F and waste her sex-money, and do so until she can't! Conception of time, does not enter their world, just as little it does Cat's or Dog's world's! They just are HERE & NOW!

The result is that romantic sites are PR for prepagos. And for honest girls that don't think at all in those terms, if they knew what is constantly going on (the Cupid owners don't want to know, but they know) they would abandon those sites to never come back!

Cupid is though serious, in comparison, to Amolatina, latinamericanlove which are 100% rip-offs. $US100 get's you nothing, maybe $US500, will by you a fake date. It's legal as long as we accept it. Horrific!

At Cupid sites and at Latineuro you might meet a honest person, even though the probability is very low, but paying relatively little money it's worth a try! While at Amolatina or Latinamericanlove the girls and the owner have an agreement. Which is logical, but really sick moral, and in the end improductive, since it scares away the guys and everyone that have heard or read of their stories.

I only have experience with Cupid and my 9 years of experience is the total opposite of you guys'. I have only met 2 gold diggers in person (one in Bogota and one in Cartagena) and they were promptly cut off as soon as I saw their angle. You have to nip that shit in the bud as soon as it starts. You are not a bank. But as soon as you agree to start giving or sending a woman money then that is exactly what you will be. Tell them no from the start. Don't be afraid to lose out on the pussy. There will always be pussy. And if worst comes to worst you can go right out and buy some direct for probably much cheaper. I have never had to give a cupid girl money or gifts and I am not about to start doing it today.

The site AMOLATINA. I mean I have met a totally "artificial"girl from the site I just hated her, her looks was 100% the result of modern science but very unnatural, I did hardly belive what I saw. And personality, was even worse! I had to control myself not explode of pure irritation. I also exchanged emails with five of the girls. This was in 2009. I put together that it was the girls at the office in Poblado that wrote the emails. Now it's more advanced, with girls online, getting payed by AMOLATINA and has that as a work. It's easy money for them, but for you it's waste of money and it's a cultural thing that brings shame on Colombia.

In May 2014 I entered LATINAMERICANLOVE and payed totally 100 USD for chatting etc, as an experiment, an expensive one, but from my point of view necessary. After paying the 100 USD I sent a few messages and started chatting with the girls. Or really; I DID NOT. "The girls" did only chatt in English. I chatted in Spanish and the girls from Medellin answered in English. When asked to answer in Spanish the conversation either died or she said " I just want to practise my English". Ridicolous! I entered to look around and get a picture what the site was about and I found out it was a total scam. How does such business go on? I mean, who stays longer than a day or two. Well, avoid.

And there are more of scamsites. It's like the sites over Russian mail Order brides. You pay money that represents months of incomes for a normal person in Colombia, in just an hour, a day or a fake date. I will come back with a review over other sites related to Colombia.

All sites are about $. All! But in different styles. Good reviews are often totally fakes. On Cupidmedias sites you can find a pretty girl, but before that you are likely to run into several internet-scammers. Here the girls operates independently. Cupidmedia of course know about this, but don't care, which actully might hurt their longterm interests. Colombianas are pestering foreigners to make them send money, to have sex for money or what would become a relationship for money. Peruanas, Argentinas, Chilenas, NO. Colombianas, it's part of their culture. Goodhearted members of this forum says that it is bad luck, I say it's a social law, as valid as any physical or matematical law!

These two sites are 100% scam sites.

Here is a thorough review of AMOLATINA.

AMOLATINA:"Guys is it s a big scam. Just compare these profiles to the ones on Facebook. Notice the different cities, the ones that are in a relationship, etc. Besides do you really think attractive young ladies are sitting home on their computer 121-18 hours a day to talk to old men instead of out partying unless they were benefiting financially from it.

Maria 1176219, real name Carolina Camacho, profile says Buga, FB says Cali and Lesbian.

https://www.facebook.com/caroline.camacho.1/about?ref=br_tf

Day 1172772 (I am sure she is online right now), real name Liedy Orozco Toro, profile says Cucuta, FB says Cali. If you look at here timeline compared to the hours she is online to chat no way it could be her. Nor based on what seems to be success do you really think it would be her.

https://www.facebook.com/#leidyorozcotoro? Fref=ts.

Liedy Johanna 1179798 . She's actually a Colombian Porn Star, says it right on her FB timeline. Profile says one city FB says another.

https://www.facebook.com/#johanna. Gonzalez. 58323?fref=ts.

Jennifer 1173378. Does this girls timeline look like she is looking for a man, yet she is online most nights.

https://www.facebook.com/#jennifer. Castilloospina? Fref=ts.

I have 100's like this from this site. Plus it is obvious that there are "groups" that are online at the same time, thus it is actually the agent chatting with you for multiple girls not the girls.

Total scam. Please do not waste your $$$ on this site or any of their family of sites. ".

You were correct.

This was a gut punch. Normally I am ready for the worst, when decisions are completely out of my control, but I was not prepared for this.

My Colombian girlfriend is 29 years old. 2 kids. 12 and 11 years old, lives in the same house her entire life with her parents and her kids.

Same job for 4 years as a secretary for lawyer. Letter of recommendation from lawyer with job details.

Letter from me stating that I would be with her and financing her trip.

Unfortunately not good enough.

The things that they focused on were as follows:

Do you own a house?

Do you own a car?

Do you have any relatives in the US?

How much money is in your bank account?

What is your job and how much do you earn?

Total cost was $700 which included airfare for 2, taxis, and the application itself ($175).

First taxi I take the next day in Medellin has a driver that received his US Tourism Visa one week earlier. The driver has a brother in the US, owns his taxi, owns his house in Belen, etc.

I will look at this again just before and during my January 2015 trip. I was told that writing a letter to the US Embassy might help. I will talk with an immigration lawyer back in the US. Her mother has a second house, albeit in a shitty area of Medellin, that she can officially sign over to her. I could put $5-$10 million pesos in her bank account also. We shall what happens, if and when, I cross that bridge.

Her mother bets me that she will get rejected on her future attempts. Typical attitude of a poor Colombian woman who has watched lots of poor get rejected in favor of the rich.

Applicants are allowed 3 attempts for a US Tourism Visa. I was told in Medellin the acceptance rate was 85% but found out in Bogota the actual acceptance rate is 60%.

If anyone has any suggestions please post them here or send me a pm.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, unlocked. For LTE see frequencies 1,700 and / or 2,600.You can buy a new cell phone in el centro, downtown Medellin for 45 k cop, a samsung for 55 k, $30 USD a good brand and good model and well worth the extra 10 k, so I would not pay to have a phone unlocked. Several years ago a phone I bot in in the DR, would not work with a Colombian sim card. I have lost count of the number of people I know who have had a cell phone ripped from their hand in Colombia, so better to lose a samsung than a BB. It is the BBs and Iphones not the 55 k ones that are stolen. This is more of a problem in el centro than up in gringolandia, El Poblado.

HB.Guys,

I appreciate the feedback.

I met with a guy who specializes in Immigration Law and he also assists foreigners with getting established and doing business in Medellin. $50 for a 30 minute consultation. We talked for almost 90 minutes.

I was surprised to find out that my situation is somewhat rare. A guy who has a girlfriend for 2 years and wants her to visit only a few times per year. I was told that it would be smart to distance myself from the situation and put all emphasis on her qualifying independently. He said that mentioning the opposite sex while applying for a Tourism Visa is a negative. It better for her to find someone she knows that has a Visa and to say she will be traveling to Florida with this person to Disneyworld for example. I was also told that it is important to wait at least 6 months before applying again which I had planned on doing anyway.

We shall see what happens going forward. If I reapply I will post my experience either way.

If someone was to buy her a TV there and she wanted to take it out of the country then she would need to show the TV in the original box and the receipt to customs upon leaving the country in order for the VAT to be returned to her. You can't leave the country and say you ate and drank so and so and would like the tax returned to you because there should not even be a VAT on food in the first place. There could be other taxes on perishables, but not a value added tax.

following hernando de sotos writing, but he of course excludes the genetic and cultural components.

i agree with that.

but for the sake of reasoning; why are colombian females as they are; they have an attitude towards sex & money that are the opposite of the one in the northern europe or new england.

colombians say that i come from a part of the world where people create something, not just make a fortune by stealing from // at the very moment // the weaker ones.

europeans created what has become a worldwide institution; the private property.

but if genes and culture doesn't cope with our "natural" view of owning property?

colombian females are notorious looking for sex for money and the country's prepagos are a export product that in the end brings in an enormous quantity of $$ also fixed exportations, colombian females marrying and living permanently might give an economic loss, but it also shows how good many colombians can have it; being beautiful they draw a lot of attention and rich guys from all over the world are eager to marry those ideal latin females.

the most important cultural difference is about property;.

colombians doesn't belong to you as an anglo-saxon wife would do. she has made a deal. for her and her fellow colombians this is 100% obvious, and it is ok for them.

their indian-african-european culture does not give the same emphasis on property as do the european / northamerican.

they don't see it with the same seriousness as we do.

only the elite, about 5% of the population, pure spanish, portuguese, and even 40-130 years ago "outsourced" north-american families are using the private property right to its full extent. hence they are the dominating class in colombia, brazil ecuador, peru, etc.

it's a cultural thing. the colombians are easy to get along with, they are not aggressive like anglo-saxons or even more arabs / jews about business, they help each other out to much greater extent.

when it comes to females and p4 p sex, the colombian girls doesn't feel they make a huge cultural error; they are 100% deceptive and unreliable and are known for that as well for their beauty! they consider it being at a money paradise, primarily known for this in panama, where, a fellow isg member reported"; there are 11 out of 10 colombian females here working as prepagos, pestering everyone". they don't care, they are like that, even in colombia and it's a fixed cultural trait that will not change with a growing economy, instead it might become worse. the females earn the same $$ as do their male counterparts and are not likely to enter a marriage without proper economical benefits, hence a period of growth will create more girls looking for money. mostly among foreigners, but with much more self-confidence than used to be; they can now choose among the various prospects made of well-off men from the 1th world!

what is a normal thing for a colombian from estrato 1-2 or even 3, and in some social cases up to even 4-5, maybe not 6, is a huge error in the culture created by europeans.

colombians doesn't have this view that they make an error, it's not about poverty. they doesn't feel that they are harming you in a fundamental way.

the cultural and genetic components are so much stronger than the written law!

it's typical colombian. it's ok to being a racist against europeans or gringos and get away with it, something that media never would dare to tell us!

i need more time and discussion to put this into a whole, but this a beginning.

my basic thought; colombians sell themselves in colombia, and are // in // famous in other countries to just being there as prepagos, and it's true.

beauty is fundamental for the business, that is one explanation; but also the culture / genetic; they doesn't feel it's a major crime, it's like it's ok!

the families back in colombia know all about it, but negating the money that comes from their "hardworking economist daughter" is never on their minds. all are part of this societal self-deception. you as a foreigner reacts, colombians plays along.

this is also why, as hernando de soto fixed his fundamental point to, but for other fundamental reasons, that makes it hard for 3rd world countries and former communist countries to enter the motorway to "prosperity".

i would say that in eastern europe, the conditions are hard-hard. people obey and treat each other with harshness, never has a democracy worked, or conditions alike it worked on the other side of elbe!! // not true if you compare gini-coefficient though /.

and rich people are rich, poor people are poor. i say there is a genetic component that are strong, at least a cultural one, more politically correct.

latin america has the same fundamental problem; growth comes late, the rise are impressing today, but has been delayed by at least 20 years and the fundamentals has not changed at all; the whole of latin america are very vulnerable and there will be crisis, maybe at the whole "continent" simultaneously. for the moment a high growth, but still on a level around $us10.000-capita while eu has 34.500 in average. that gap must be halved to make latin america a power to count with; international affairs depend on how much you have to offer back in products, especially high-tech and we have yet not seen that "take-off" that was so classical for usa, japan, taiwan, thailand or brazil and turkey lately. just being trusted by global enterprises of take part of developing and producing high-tech is a level yet to achieve for most latin american countries; industries that give the producing country more economic feedback than the country from where the companies owners come from.

i think the progress we see today will have a swift end not to long away in the future!

argentina, a potentially economic regional power, isn't that since it's ruled by powerful families, that see to their own and their allies good. the country comes second. it's a cultural trait; argentina is simply not a country that we from the first world take for granted; it's a culture very shallow, football is a uniting cultural trait, but history or values are not so deep or creating "social capital" that is so vital for reaching that speed at which high continuously growth comes automatically.

that create even worse problems, the country is stagnating since the 60th.

back to the private property issue; i might not like gated communities, but they are a fundamental expression of how this institution function natural in the developed west, even if exaggerating here, just to make an example. ways of living in the west are very black-white, gated or formally not gated, it's an expression of our view about property.

colombians, lacking this trait, respecting the law, but doesn't have the natural urge to see everything in rights / obligations as do western people, there is a cultural / genetic trait that will create problems to move up and beyond the $us20.000 level, a classical hindrance for emerging countries, while failing to securing the rights of the growing middle class.

that pattern is cultural / genetic and is the greatest obstacle that the world has today in economics, aside the environmental issues of course. how to find a revolutionary theory as was keynes in the 1930th?

can these problems be understood to their full extent and from there the nobel prize level latin economists can start creating laws and politics that open up for a continuous high growth, without creating havoc for the upper class, since they are naturally sceptical and will ultimately bring in help from the usa if threatened to loos it's powers.

there are no real reasons why poverty must exist. communist cuba made it 1962 and onwards their proper way, giving education and health care to all the people, rising the average life expectancy from 48 to 78 years in a few decades! and this while an 100% embargo was in effect made out to bring the country on it's knees!

there must be solutions equally efficient for a market oriented economy.

colombians can learn how to respect the private property, while europeans are born into it, see life through this pattern, and therefore it's so much stronger, being an social institution, not just a legal, formal institution!

Hi,

I am headed back to CTG in Nov. Do any of you have experience with Copa airlines. They go through Panama City with less than 1 hour between connecting flights? How is that possible to go through customs that quickly. Do you frequently wind up not making the connection (it is later at night) and wind up on an early AM flight. This has happened to me before with Avianca through Bogota. A few days before the flight they contact you and say late flight cancelled, need to go in AM.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help. You should be just fine. Copa is my favorite airline and I use them when I can. Airport in Panama is easy to get from gate to gate. 10-15 minute walk from one end to the other. My layovers have been more or less an hour in the past and I make the walk from gate to gate in 5 minutes usually. No need to pass through customs as you are not staying in Panana. I highly recommend Copa flights through Panama City.

Good luck.

For me this statement by SavPros is huge. I am always wondering why this and why that and SavPro provides one of the answers here.

Porn is not big in Colombia because if a guy there wants to bang a female HE just visits a casa or street pro. They don't need to jack off to porn. Porn is only big in countries where prostitution is illegal, like the US. I think the last time I've ever paid for a porn DVD or online subscription was 2004. There is just to much of the free shit online to ever have to spend money on it ever again. The plain fact in countries like the USA is that if you don't have a willing wife or girlfriend having sex is Illegal. If you're an average looking Joe (here in sex prison) you will have to break the law to have a little intimacy and that's getting harder to do (now) because there is more scrutiny from the PC government.

Women have the upper hand here. Nature made us all different but women in the USA don't tolerate the differences. They don't like it when men enjoy themselves sexually and so p4p here is illegal.

Everyday the noose gets tighter.

I'm stuck in Dallas for a few days on business.

Went out to a strip club tonight.

Talked to a couple average looking strippers at best.

They said I could go to the Champagne room with the both of them, for an hour, for $1500.

Hahaha, is basically what I told them.

I'm heading back to Brazil in a couple days I said, and they looked at me like deer in the headlights. LOL.

These girls actually think they're worth that $.

Hmmmmmm.

I did get along great with the sexy chocolate waitress though.

Everytime I bought a drink, maybe 3, I gave her a nice tip, maybe $30 total.

We talked for a while and when leaving she passed me her number.

So maybe Dallas could actually get fun, LOL.

Sorry this has nothing to do with Colombia, it is general, however.

Take care amigo.

Congrats on getting that black waitresses number. Bravo!

Here in Atlanta that is par for the course on any given night, but you don't have to go to a strip club. Hot young black women all over the place, ready to hook up, and if you're an in shape, handsome white guy it's even easier. Closest thing to Colombia. Young black women here are very friendly and open and don't mind larger age differences.

Again Congrats Ricker. Like always, you the' man!

ThanksTaxis are easy and cheap. You can get them from anywhere. Drivers are friendly and cool to interact with. 5 k -15 k for ordinary distances within the city.

If using from the airport confirm the price immediately with the driver. Should be 60-70 k depending on where you are going. Use the white taxis if available. I usually tip an extra 10 k upon arrival at the apartment.

ThanksGuess the question is why? In only a 5 day trip you won't have enough time to see the city much less checking out the neighbouring small towns. Save the driving to the cheap cab drivers. Have a few drinks and enjoy yourself. Hell I'm going for 5 weeks in 10 days and wouldn't think of renting a car. I enjoy the idea of not having to worry about driving. May rent a motorcycle to go check out the countryside for a couple days. But in the city. Check out the metro a couple times a grab a cab. IMHO.

Anyone have some intell on this?Colombia has been lobbying the US for a waiver on visas for Colombians, but the US isn't even considering it at this time. The US Embassy has been more generous in the past though, regarding giving tourist visas to Colombians as the other poster stated.

I believe that in 2015 Colombians will not be required to have a visa to visit most European countries.

Is this a transcript from a FB chat or something? It was from whatsapp the other day. A chick that I used to mess with in Barranquilla. We have been knowing each other 6 years. I was introduced to her by a friend in Bogota who is from Barranquilla, who is actually in the States right now.

I was going to be a nice guy and let the chick come stay in my house while she studied English. The problem was that she would need to send money back for the care of her daughter. I told her that she could do chores around the house and cook and I would give her $200/ month to send. Mind you I'm only there about 4 days/month anyway. (I would have stayed there more if she had come.) It went from her buying her ticket, to me paying for half her ticket, to me buying all of her ticket, to me laughing my ass off because there was no way that shit was happening.

She finished her degree in July and was supposed to come then. Come to think of it, another chick I know from Barranquilla has a visa as well. Maybe it is something to do with the coast.

Anyone have any information on how to book reservations online with this airlines? When I get to the part of paying, it will not accept any of my credit cards (which all have $0 balances on them, so it's not a credit issue). I believe it has to do something with the payment gateway interface, so I was wondering if anyone found a way around this? If needing to get a Colombian credit card, is it possible to do before arriving to Colombia?

It's not possible to buy a ticket using a credit card issued by a US bank. I know because I tried. It is the same problem in Peru with their domestic airlines. However, it is more problematic with Viva because unlike Peruvian airlines, they do not have offices to buy tickets. I did find a travel agency in Cali to buy a ticket to Medellin but most agencies do not sell tickets for Viva. Their website says to buy a ticket at their airport office at least four hours before their scheduled flight.

I went to the office two hours before my flight as I had a ticket already purchased at the above Cali travel agency and noticed their airport office was closed. So, in short, they are not user friendly for non-Colombians.

One time I got lucky and found an inexpensive flight with Avianca from MDE to Santa Marta and used my US credit card without a problem.

I'll be in Medellin for 5 days next week. Is it worth renting a car from the airport?

Is it safe to drive and better than taxis?

Thanks.I would not recommend renting a car with a city that has so many other transportation options. Medellin has an excellent transportation system with what people called busetas that do travel within the city to many neighborhoods every day, early morning to late evenings and less than 2 USA, there is train called El Metro also travel daily early morning till 1030 pm and is less than 2 dollars a ride and which travel north, south, west, and east of Medellin, super safe, quick and reliable. There are yellow taxis in the city and are not that expensive. I never used them cause I don't like to take take taxis in any country, but people told me were cheap and you could see them everywhere. There is also a buseta at the airport that can take you to the city center and makes two stops (San Diego Mall and the City Center near Nutibara Hotel) for about $4. 50 dollars). The busetas in the airport are very comfortable buses and are pretty reliable and they leaves the airport to the city every 30 minutes. The taxis from the airport to the City are expensive or over $50 dollars cause it is a long ride to the city. It is best to take the busetas to the city and from there take a taxe to your Hotel.

There is a tourist information desk at the Medellin airport and they can give you information or direct you to.

Different transportation options. Also I only recommend the buseta option if you travel light. If you have large luggages, no, then you must take a taxi or rent the car (and pray the car does not get stolen or you get into.

An accident in a foreign country).

Hi guys,

I'm a 30 years old German and new to this forum. I saved up all my holidays this year to go for a bigger trip in January, February or March 2015. What I'm searching for is not a total sex holiday: I've seen places like Pattaya already, but I didn't really like them. Instead I had my best times in other places (Cebu, Phuket, Taipei, Singapore) with non-sexworker girls. It's something like that again I'm trying to find, paysex is just supposed to be a puzzle part in it or the fallback plan in case nothing else is working out. I know it's more difficult to get the normal girls, but I'm gladly investing some time hitting on exotic Asians or Latinas compared to an awful flirt with a German girl. First I was thinking about Vietnam and Cambodia because I've been to some the places in South East Asia and love it there. But now I decided to check out some place in Latin America first because:

1. I've never been to any american country at all and I am excited about it.

2. I speak mediocre Spanish already which gives me hope that I might have a more intense and fulfilling holiday than in Asia because the language barrier is high there.

What I was thinking about was taking a trip to DomRep and Cuba (each about 2 weeks). Reasons: Caribbean islands, hot girls, affordable prices, relatively high security level.

But now I was surprise checking some pics of Colombian girls and I seem to like them better. Security level there makes me worry a bit though. Since I keep on reading and reading I get more and more confused about where to go. I think reading more travel reviews will make it even worse. Maybe you can help me by answering some of my questions to give me a direction.

Which country would you recommend for me as total America newbie? (Spanish or English speaking, low prices, low chance of robberies or weapon shit). Is Columbia a good choice then?

Which countries do you get the best value for money? I guess high English level makes countries more expensive in general. Am I right with Cuba, DomRep and Columbia already?

I read about Medellin and Sosa for example as sex paradises. Maybe I should check one of these as introduction for my holiday, but then which are the places to go if I want to get hot and easy non-sexworkers as well? In the past I have good experiences with bigger cities because you can find more open-minded girls than in villages or sex tourism places where they all expect money. But maybe smaller places are OK in Latin America if you speak Spanish? I don't know. In Phuket I was able to find both.

My impression from the pics was that the Colombian girls have generally lighter skins, more variation in hair types, more beautiful faces (I know that's a very individual point) and better shaped bodies than in Cuba and DomRep. Is it true in average or am I totally wrong and biased by the pics? How about the amount of fatties in these countries?

Hope you can help me a bit because I'm running out of time with my plannings and still too indecisive. I will reward you with an enthralling holiday review.

Best regards.

Wigolon.

If you're looking for non-pros more than pros, I probably wouldn't spend significant time in Medellin or Cartagena. The girls in those two cities are quite used to foreign men and getting non-pros can be tough. Yes, Colombian women, on average, are lighter-skinned than Cubanas or Dominicanas. But there are still plenty of dark / African descent chicas in Colombia.

As far as bodies, it's a matter of opinion. I personally think Cubanas and maybe Dominicanas have better NATURAL bodies than the Colombianas. Alot of the Colombian chicas with hot-looking bodies have silicone "augmentation. ".

Safety is generally not a huge issue in Colombia, as long as you exercise normal precaution. I would say DR is more dangerous, though I've never had a problem there.

Is travelling in comfort real important to you? If you don't need super luxury, I might do Cuba. It's the safest out of the places you mentioned. And you don't have the hassles that us and. Americans do in visiting. And it's a very interesting place to visit aside from the mongering.

Combo: thanks a lot for that post, very helpful.

On Colombia:

I understand that it's probably hard to get non-pros in Medellin or Cartagena. Any places that you could recommend instead? How about Bogota? Or should I head for the smaller cities?

On Cuba / DR:

Thanks for the Cuba arguments. No, luxury is not important for me. The only luxurious thing I really found worth paying more for in SEA was aircon. Anyway, from what I read it's not THAT hot and humid as it is in Singapore (quite difficult to get a relaxing sleep without it there). So I guess I can do without aircon in the Caribbean.

It's certainly a plus if there's a lot to see besides mongering Cuba. BTW I read even in Puerto Plata there's a lot of other stuff to do. Another big plus for Cuba and DR that I found out today is that they offer non-stop flights from Berlin to Cuba (Varadero) and DR (Puerto Plata, Punta Cana). That's great because I really hate stops on long distance flights. I guess Punta Cana is not really the place to go though because it seems to be a total family tourism place.

However, your arguments support my plan of considering Cuba as a good destination. I'm still thinking about a holiday split because I have a whole month. So maybe 2 weeks Cuba and 2 weeks DR. Or instead of DR 2 weeks Columbia maybe. The flight could become a really expensive part in this one though. On the other hand, I would have to fly to DR anyway because surprisingly there are no ferries at all serving between Cuba and DR.

On Other countries:

My research about the other countries: I already sorted out Costa Rica (expensive), Venezuela (crazy and dangerous), Brazil (Portuguese). What I cannot judge on are Panama, Ecuador and Peru. All I know is that Colombians are supposed to be hotter. I'm not a fan of silicon either though. Is there a place with the looks of Colombian girls but less augmentation?

Shamester: Can you be a little more specific? What is it that makes Columbia so much better? Girls giving better performance for money or anything else as well?

If you are looking for normal girls, good places are towns 1 or 2 hours from Cali, or in Huila.

Girls are not used to seeing gringos here, so fairly easy to pick up. A little Spanish speaking will help.

Based on your comments and insecurities, I would recommend Medellin over Sosua. I would not pick Cuba asa place because prostitution is not legal there. Medellin and Sosua are both sex paradises as you said. But they are both different experiences. Sosua is a poor town, but it has an amazing clear beach and there are bitches everywhere at night time. Medellin is an amazing mountain town, but there is no beach. The Dominican women are more of the hustlers type and they will often ask for extra favors, take your shampoo, deodorant, condos's if you let them. The DR girls will make you feel sorry for them and ask you in their misery poor lives and said "papy can I have those condoms since you are leaving, can I have that coconut oil, the baselin, that extra phone you have, etc, etc. I find the Dominican more affectionate than the Colombian thought and more easy to find GF experience than Colombians but this varies from person to person. The Colombian women in Medellin are less hustlers type and you find more lighter skin women than the DR. Lots of black and Haitian women in the DR. You are right about many of you assumptions in regard to the looks of Colombian women. The pictures don't lie. They are hot. In Medellin, is where you find the most beautiful Colombian women (and this coming from me a Dominican born guy). Colombian women are obsessed with their bodies and they take good care of the body and many are fit and go to gyms and enhance their features with surgery cause of these body obsession. The Dominicans not so much, but you find fatties and thin women in both countries. If you are looking for a girlfriend, you will find them anywhere if that is what you are looking for and if it it is P4 P the Sosua and Medellin are great destinations. Medellin is not what it used to be in regards to violence and crime. It much safer than the past. The DR has a lot of crime too, so does NY, Chicago, London, Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Turkey, China, Russia, etc. Crime exist anywhere in the world and just like in any major big city of the world you just have to apply common sense and be careful. Don't worry about your mediocre Spanish. Some is helpful, but take the trip as an opportunity to improve it and take lessons from the locals. Both Medellin and Sosua will give you great value for your money. In any case, don't break your head trying to make a decision. Just pick the place that is giving you the greatest urge to go, and book a flight. If it is Medellin or Sosua, there are a lot of resources in this board you can check.

Cerebro,

I'm glad you said dominicanas are more affectionate than colombianas. I hope so for my sake.

I disagree with your take on Cuba. It's ilegal on paper but very tolerated by gov. And widely accepted by society. And I'll take cubanas over colombianas any time! So legality is a non-issue. Just stay out of Havana!

But Medellin is the most pleasant town I've ever lived in. Perfect incouraging weather, great healthy food options EVRYWHERE. Great transportation options. And very economic cost of living. Just no beaches!

Just like in Colombia and Dr. Where it is legal, it is also widespread, but it does not make it or means that it is widely accepted by society. I don't know much about the government being tolerant about it, but if they are so tolerant about it why don't they make it legal? Another problem with traveling to Cuba at least from the USA is that it is Communist country and according to the US Department of State "Tourist travel to Cuba is prohibited under USA Law for USA Citizens and others under USA Jurisdiction". I would not argue with that. I can take easily a plane to Cuba from the USA, but upon my return how.

Do I explain to US Immigration officials what I was doing in Cuba and that I am not.

Breaking the law? There are too many potential problems for USA Citizens for traveling to Cuba. For that reason alone, I take Cuba out of my mongering list of countries even those jjineteras as they call the bitches are amazing beautiful. Another thought, lets say you get arrested in Cuba for being with a prostitute where this trade is "illegal on paper", how do you explain in a Cuban court of law that you are not breaking the law?

I hear Paida or how ever you call it is AwwesOme for non pros and even regular girls.I pronounce it Pea-a-da. Anyway I met a girl from Pereira and she was awesome. 28 years old 1 kid and a killer natural body. I met her on LAC. She was staying in Bogota trying to find work, well she found work. With me She met me 3 times at my apartment early afternoon to late at night. We went out for dinner all 3 nights and had girlfriend sex too many times to count but we never discussed any type of payment. Sunday, I found myself strolling the closed highway with her and her daughter with all the other families, having ice cream ect. It was fun jajajja The night before I left she asked me to call her everyday and to keep in touch because she wanted to have a serious relationship and would wait for my return. At the time I was going to Bogota once every 6 weeks or so. She never once asked for money but I took good care of her for the 3 days we were together. I gave her some perfume and a Lancme makeup kit, lots of restaurants. One of my favorites is Andre's Carne in Chia. I then tried to give her $300 which she initially refused but soon accepted when I told her "I know your not prepago but I want you get something nice for your hija" LOL I love this type of trip. I'm not sure if she works this angle with every American who visits or not but it made for a great trip for me.

KukulkanThank you Kukulma. So to get the Jineteras, I have to travel from USA to Mexico then to Cuba and that way avoid the USA radar. Sounds to me like cocaine trafficking and flying close to the water to avoid radar detention. Also, two plane tickets to by to get to Cuba and hope that my USA passport does not get stamp by a Cuban official. I think that is crazy. I would rather stay in Mexico fucking the bitches there. Even if the passport does not get stamp in Cuba, I think it is a terrible risk to take when traveling to Cuba. USA Citizens are prohibited to travel to Cuba as tourist. Just think if by any chance (e. G. An unfortunate accident or a police or hooker set up you end up in a Cuban jail), do you think the US will help you in getting you out of there when you are not supposed to be there in the first place? And what are you going to say that you were doing in Cuba? They can keep you in jail in Cuba forever by just accusing you as a Gringo spy. When the USA stops the restrictions to traveling to Cuba or it becomes legal to travel there, then I will travel and ride the lovely Jineteras.

Thanks for your opinion! Actually after I read more about Cuba now, I've become really unsure if I still want to go there. I mean it's most probably nice to experience that Cuban 50's-like lifestyle (though I'm neither a fan of old timers nor cigars) with all the hot girls of different races around. But though it's apparently possible to get chicas into certain casa particulares or some hotels where they allow one girl, I totally don't like the thought that you cannot walk around freely and without worries together with a girl there: I don't want to get annoyed by security or police because I'm walking with a Cubana, for me it's an important part of the holiday to do that. Not only staying inside the safe room. I don't like this jail lifestyle. Furthermore I don't want to be responsible for the girl's destiny if they catch her for being with a tourist and throw her into real jail. And I guess all of this shit can happen even with non-hookers. (One of the sources: Google "Sex in Cuba: 5 Tips for Hooking Up".

Another con for Cuba is the long travelling distance. I would fly in directly from Germany to Varadero (only option, everything else is indirect and very expensive). And if I want to see Santiago de Cuba as well, I'd have to take an 815 km long trip to go there from Varadero, just to take even more than the same distance back to Havana which is the only place I can fly to Colombia from. The alternative would be to skip Santiago and the whole east of Cuba, but I'm not sure if it's worth the 2 weeks stay then.

What adds up are the other things you need to accept due to the poverty: boring food and rooms without luxury are ok for me, but big difficulties to find internet is a pain in the ass, especially for further planning of the trip. Anyway censored is actually something that I can hardly accept.

Colombia is currently my favorite destination. Thanks for the tip on Pareira by the way.

So I'm still desperate about finalizing my flight plans. Current mood says drop Cuba and take DR in again as first destination. Then I don't have all of the listed cons (few food choices, no internet, police crap, long travelling distances). And incredibly cheap flight from Germany to Puerto Plata. Then flight from Santo Domingo to Bogotá. On the other hand. Maybe it's not possible to travel around safely like it is in Cuba, so maybe the argument for walking around freely with a chica doesn't even apply? What do you think? Better choice than Cuba?

Thanks for the additional information about the legality for USA Citizens to go to Cuba. I still stand from what I said, thatit is prohibited for USA Citizens to travel to Cuba. If not, why you can't fly from the USA and instead have to go to Mexico. Some even go to great lenghts to get a Mexican passport to pretend to be Mexicans and not get their USA Passport stamped? Also, on your note.

That it is okay to travel but not to do any business with Cuba. How can you prevent not doing any business? Aren't we doing business with Cuba when we book flight to Cuba, book a hotel, charge a credit card, buy food in Cuban restaurant or supermarket, conduct a P4 P business transaction with a jinetera, etc, etc. I think People from the USA that go to Cuba are putting themselves at a huge risk for violating USA law. I took the information of the prohibition from the Department of State website: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/country/cuba.html.

The following is noted:

Tourist travel to Cuba is prohibited under USA Law for USA Citizens and others under USA Jurisdiction.

As A USA Citizen, my views on traveling to Cuba are rather bias because of the restrictions that we have to travel there. I can.

Not really comment on the Cuban Jineteras because I have never been to Cuba. So your idea of going to DR and / or Colombia seems best to me. Both countries will give you great value for your money. To me is about the same cost. If you go to DR, take a flight to Puerto Plata airport and stay in Sosua. Don't go to Punta Cana is more for family tourism. Sosua is a beach town located in the same municipality of Puerto Plata so it is not to far from the airport. It is were the best chicas and P4 P action in the DR. Chicas from all over the Dominican Republic go to Sosua, so it is where you will find the most variety and beautiful women. There are a lot of dark skin Dominican and Haitians Chicas there if you like the morenas and big booties. There are not that many white Dominicans and they are the minority. P4P is negotiable and ranges from $30 to $50 for 1-2 hours. The Haitians tend to be cheaper. Sosua has a beautiful clear water beach. The weather is hot and humid all year long. Please note that there are a lot hustlers including the chicas in most touristic towns including as this is a sort of a way of life there. Dominican women are more desperate financially than the Colombians so they tend to be very needed and they will make you feel sorry for them and ask you often for extra money for their babies, for taxi, for your personal items. Therefore, you have to be firm and say I am sorry but can't give the items you requested because you need that cream, the shampoo, the shavers, the condoms, etc. They are also tend to be very affectionate and that is part of their Hustling charm which makes it difficult for many man to say no when they ask for extras. Also, Sosua is a typical ghetto Dominican town, very poor and with many delinquents. So you always have to be cautious whenever you go out, but being cautious applies to being anywhere in the world you go. In Sosua, you must find a chica friendly hotel or Aparta hotel near the beach and the main strip to reduce the walking at night by yourself or taking taxis or motoconchos. You need a chica friendly place to to bring your chica because there are not that many places where you could do the fucking in. That is more for the casas in Colombia. Here is an aparta hotel near the beach and strip and not too expensive or about $50 per night / studio: http://perladesosua.com/. There is also a small surfing town called Cabarette next to Sosua that has a nice beach strip with lots of nice bars and restaurants and many chicas at night. I stayed in the.

Cabarette town last August and found a nice beach front apartment for $30 per night http://sanssoucicabarete.com/. If you decide to go to Colombia, I would recommend Medellin over Bogota. The general consensus is that the people from Bogota are not as friendly as in Medellin and are more snobby. Medellin is located way up in the mountains. No beach is the only negative I could think of. The weather in Medellin is Spring all year long. It is a cosmopolitan and great beautiful city. The women are absolutely beautiful. They are not as needed as the Dominican and they are less hustlers or don't ask much for extras. In the bars and clubs and some strip clubs, you have to approach them. Not like in the DR where they are hunters and will approach you often. Many white Colombian women in Medellin and not too many black women. If you like black women, you won't like Medellin cause they are the minorities, the reverse of the DR. Prices from the chicas ranges from $15 to $75 for 30 min to 2 hours and depending on the place and service. You have many options of where to stay. You could rent a studio apt with 1) board member Aunsa at the town of Laureles for $35 dollar and up a night and he offers help in orienting you to places in Medellin. I also found a nice apartment in Laureles for $30 per nigh.

2) http://tuapartamentomde.com/ or you could rent with another board member 3) http://www.colombiajake.com/ for $35 per night and and he also has tours to the casas and offers services like hooking up with Colombian women. I never tried Colombiajake but perhaps in my next trip to Medellin, I will book with him. There is another board member (Bbrocs) who rents apartment in the poblado area near parque Lleras beginning at $70 per night 3) http://www.pobladorentals.com/index.php?f=2&mid=1. You can also book for a few days at the famous mongering place hotel casa blanca / la mansion. Recommended by many board members and for newbies who want mongering support and chicas on site. This place has changed names many times and is now called 5) hotel medellin http://www.hotelmedellinm.com/. Good luck with your trip. And don't forget to write a report on your adventure.

Americans can travel Legally to Cuba and also spend money there but have to acquire a 'license'.
Here are the current different licenses on the Government site that I copied.

General Licenses.
The Regulations currently contain eight general licenses authorizing travel-related transactions involving Cuba. General licenses constitute blanket authorization for those transactions set forth in the relevant regulation. No further permission from OFAC is required to engage in transactions covered by a general license. Individuals wishing to engage in the following activities involving Cuba should first review the general license contained in the Regulations to determine whether their travel-related transactions are covered by a general license:

1) visiting "close relatives" who are nationals of Cuba or visiting "close relatives" who are USA Government employees assigned to the USA Interests Section in Havana, Cuba;.
2) official business travel by officials of the USA Government, foreign governments, or Intergovernmental organizations of which the United States is a member;.
3) journalistic activities by persons regularly employed as journalists by a news reporting Organization or by persons regularly employed as supporting broadcast or technical Personnel;.
4) professional research conducted by full-time professionals in their professional areas Attendance at certain professional meetings or conferences organized by international Professional organizations, or participation in certain telecommunications-related Professional meetings;.
5) educational activities by faculty, staff, and students of accredited USA Graduate and Undergraduate degree-granting academic institutions;.
6) religious activities under the auspices of a religious organization located in the United States;.
7) the commercial marketing, sales negotiation, accompanied delivery, or servicing in Cuba of telecommunications-related items that have been authorized for commercial export or( Revised 6 May 10,2012.) Re-export by employees of, or an entity duly appointed to represent, a telecommunications services provider;.

I applied for a license about 10 years ago and was rejected and hence I took a flight from Mexico to Havana. The travel company in MX provided the visa and medical insurance too. Cuba will not stamp your passport if you ask them not to. I had a lot of fun. Since the additional changes in Travel policy by President Obama, there are flights from Miami and also the West coast of USA to Cuba. These have to be booked through the travel agents for those 'educational' visits to Cuba for Americans from USA.

For now, I will pass on traveling to Cuba or until they fully lift the embargo and / or travel restrictions. It is still too much of hassle. Also, those tours have too many restrictions and are packed with regulated boring activities (like going to the museum and historic sites, and I am not any interested in learning about the Cuban revolution, Fidel or Che Guevara). My main interest in going to Cuba is to ride the Cuban jineteras and interact with the locals. Also to abide by the US rules these trips for US Citizens forbids the interaction with Cuban locals or leaving the tour, or going to the beach / bay by yourself, so you always within the confines of the tour people. For P4P, I will stick to Colombia and DR, and add more countries where it is unrestricted to travel and also where P4P is legal.

You don't want to go and have fun?

We were there for Valentines Day.

The people were very friendly. Just don't take photos of the police.

It is not a big hassle to get their.

You can even go from Tijuana, Mexico.

Put a blank piece of paper in your passport, to be removed before getting back to the USA.

Oh yes, Cash only, no credit cards. At the time we were there you could phone home from the hotel Nacional.

I heard that maybe you can use the internet?

Also, those tours have too many restrictions and are packed with regulated boring activities. Cerebro, I was hoping that President Obama would totally lift the travel embargo by his executive powers but he has been appeasing the anti Castro residents in Florida for votes. I heard that there is less resentment now and maybe he may lift the travel restrictions before he leaves office. It is easy to go to Cuba. Over 10 years ago, I booked through a Mexican travel agent in Tijuana, Mexico and flew from there. At that time there were more restrictions on the Cubans and only the Cubans who worked at hotels could go to Hotels. Raul made a change where Cubans could rent rooms in hotels. Does that mean that guys can bring Cuban women back to the hotels? There were some Latin Americans staying at the hotel and I would eat dinner with a couple of the younger girls, legal age and then an European guy and myself will go bar hopping with the girls later and back at the hotel we would be screwing. During the day, some times I went on tours to see the country and other days would do some sight seeing in Havana and then go to the central park in the old town, not where the tourists go. People would be playing chess and poetry will be going on. I would sit on the benches with the locals and ask guys sitting close to me to bring some girls, which they would. We would then go a girl's friend's apartment and I would screw the girls there for a couple of hours. I recall that I used to pay about $20.00 to the girl and $5. 00 for the room rental. Every woman was available at that time, single or married. I even used to have some guys at the market offer their daughters and so forth. It's better to have an apartment than stay in a hotel. I do not know the mongering scene now there. Cuba is off my list of countries as I have been there and I usually only visit a country once unless it blows me away. Life is short, just do it. Nothing bad can happen even if you get sick there as Cuba has a good medical system. Just don't wear a "I love Cuba" tee shirt on the flight back and while crossing the border!

Flying to Cuba is simple for US citizens.

Locate a country where Cubana Air flies. Travel to that country and purchase a round trip package deal.

Cuba will not stamp your passport. Pay the departure tax. Destroy your tickets.

My suggestion is Toronto, Canada.

I actually decided to do DR and Colombia. But then I checked all the flight prices and found out that the flight from DR to Colombia is as expensive as the flight from Europe to DR or from Colombia to Europe!! How is that possible? All are around 430. Seems like cheap flights are not at all established as they are in Europe, US or Asia. I was actually guessing it would be around 100-200€.

Do you think that's worth it? Or should I just skip DR then, save 400 and do Colombia only? Not sure about that. I know you can actually spend a lot of time in any country if you want. But I want to get an impression of Latin America and maybe doing only one country is not really representative for the flair. But maybe the only thing I'm really missing when I skip DR is easy girls?

Also, let say you pick Colombia. From Bogota you could flight to Medellin, Cali, and Cartagena Colombia or you could go by bus to those towns (very long rides, some a whole day) and also you could flight from Bogota to Lima-Peru, Quito-Equador, and Panama. The price for those flights are reasonably price just check the website from viva Colombia http://www.vivacolombia.co/. You you do your accommodation booking, you should not make long term reservations, just to keep you flexible in terms of making travel plan changes whenever you decide to make a city or country change.

Ok there were some changes in the prices recently: only 214 EUR for a flight from Santo Domingo to Bogota. And for a ridiculously low extra charge of 4 EUR the same Airline will take you to any other city in Columbia from Bogot right afterwards. So I was thinking about this:

Flight from Germany to DR (Puerto Plata).

1. Sosua.

2. Cabarete.

3. Santiago de LOS Caballeros.

4. Santo Domingo.

Flight from DR (Santo Domingo) to Colombia (Cartegena).

5. Cartagena.

6. Medellin.

7. Bogota.

Flight from Colombia (Bogota) to Germany.

So what do you think about my plan?

Am I wanting too much? Should I kick places out?

How about Pereira? Is it more worthy to visit then the three mentioned in Colombia?

If you have miles with Star Alliance, 10 k will get you one-way flight between DR and Colombia on Copa, which is an excellent airline.

I'm like you, I like to have a beach vacation (DR) but also hit Medellin or Cali. I've done it several times w/o a hitch.

It depends, how long is your vacation?

Keep in mind that Bogota, Cartagena and Medellin are at flight distances unless you want to take a 24 hours bus which some people do. I can't stand being on a bus more than 3 hours.

Also, see if you flight from Puerto Plata not the capital Santo Domingo to Colombia.

While in DR those towns Puerto Plata, Sousa, Cabarete, Santo Domingo, Santiago are all good and there are all accessible via nice buses called Caribe tours and metro bus. Sousa to Santiago is about and hour. Sousa is a town of Puerto Plata. Cabarete is the next town to Sousa or 5-10 miles away. The capital Santo domingo is 3-4 hours from Sousa.

As for your Colombia itinerary, it's more challenging its a huge country and as I mentioned all those towns Medellin Bogota Cartagena are far apart unless you planning to do some serious road travel.

3. Santo Domingo/Boca Chica (same area)

Not much P4P action in Santiago, but the women are beautiful there, and there is a lot of chances to hook up with local civilian girls. Since Wigolon is looking for opportunities to get real girlfriends and because that is one of his priorities, Santiago may be a good city to spend a few days. I grew up in Santiago and lived there 20 years. The Best places to hook up (not hookers) with the civilian girls when I was there (25 years ago) was in las discotecas / dance places and while attending Utesa university. Now, things are very different and there are many more options, and there is also more P4P than when lived there, but it is still not big on that category. Flying out of the country from Santiago or Puerto Plata than from the Capital Santo Domingo is also better unless you are staying in the Capital.

Since the beginning of this month, Canadian citizens traveling to Colombia have to pay a COP160,000 or $80 entry fee.

The measure was imposed in response to Canada's entry fee for Colombians.

According to Colombia's Foreign Ministry, Canadians can still travel to Colombia without having to get a visa first, but have to pay the entry fee when passing through Migration either at the airport.

Above is copied from the Dec 09 issue of Colombia Reports, the online newspaper from Bogota.

I decided to it like this now:

DR: Santiago.

DR: Cabarete.

Col: Medellan (flight from Santo Domingo).

Col: Barranquilla (flight from Medellin) - Cartagena - Barranquilla - Santa Marta.

Col: Bogota (flight from Santa Marta, staying only 2 days before going home).

Any recommendations on cheap, safe and chica friendly hotels (no hassle with discussions) in the mentioned places are appreciated!

Flight from DR to Colombia still not booked because it remains expensive. I hope that will change within the next weeks. Otherwise I'll have to pay 450€ just for that flight.

I recommend staying in Sosua and just going to Cabarete during the day if you want to see the beach there or windsurf or kitesurf. Check Sosua Hotels thread. $40-$60.

Medellin: Don't know. Never been there. My buddy stays somewhere downtown though for like $25 and takes the bus from the airport for like $3.

Barranquilla: Hotel Sorrento $45. Don't recommend staying in BAQ unless there is some chick you are planning to meet. Even then, I would just have her meet me and take a van or bus together to Santa Marta. There is not a damn thing to do there except go to the mall.

Cartagena: Hotel Playa or rent apartment. I rented an apartment first, but changed to the hotel because the apartment was terrible. Cartagena will have the most expensive accommodations of your trip. The apartment I had was like $40 and the hotel was basic and cost $80.

Santa Marta: El Rodadero area. Just walk around and the people who rent apartments will find you. There is a Hotel Sorrento there as well. $50.

Bogota: Hotel La Sabana or El Virrey.

Are Colombians able to travel to Spain without a Visa at this time, like per se 1st or 2nd of January? I'm thinking of adding Colombia to my short list of future mongering destinations. So far I've been mongering in Holland, Germany, and Morocco, as well as my home, the UK.

Could people who have been to any of these countries give a comparison with Colombia? I'm mainly into purely P4P rather than getting to know a local and seduce her into bed. Looking around the forum I seem to see a lot of people seem to be chatting up locals and then bedding them, with or without direct payment, but I really prefer places where things are crystal clear and with a good ambiance, safe environment and where I can browse around before parting with any money.

I've most enjoyed the German FKK style so far and found Germany and Holland very easy to get around in with barely knowing a single word of the local language. Morocco quite frustrating but potentially great being able to watch all the working girls dance in the clubs and score a GFE. Albeit too many scammers and risks involved. So how would the Colombia scene compare with these places?

I imagine we can't ID the girls, so how to protect myself from trouble besides going with girls that have cellulite? Where are theCodeWord902 girls in Bogota, Medellin and Baranquilla? What places are best to avoid and can we be sure that all the girls in a house are OK?Are there girls out there with fake ID's?

Thanks for the head's up! Yeah, I haven't been to either CR or Colombia and it is really hard to tell which is the better first time option.

Some guys LOVE CR while other men hate it.

I've never heard anyone claim that Colombia is not a good time, however.I usually see Avianca has better price than COPA, for bog to mde also on the Avianca site if you use the Colombia site rather than international, you see prices in COP rather than $. Over the past 3 years sometimes the colombian site will except an Canadian bank visa card and debit in COP but other times it will not accept my card. In December I had to go to a Avianca office in mde to buy a mde to bog ticket, but a week ago I bot a bog to mde ticket with canuck visa card online price 66,000 cop or $33.00 cad international site price was $95. Cad.

Have a few spare tickets left for Pit Ball and Nicky Jam this Friday in Medellin and Saturday in Bogota.

PM me if interested. This scammer Aunsa is amazing. Besides renting imaginary apartments in Rio, Medellin, Cartagena, and England. He is also selling tickets for concerts of Pit Bull, New Directions, Beyonce, tickets for the world soccer cup, private parties, whatever you want, this guy will try to fool you to steal your money. Be careful if the guy PMs you asking you to meet for beer in Bogota or anywhere or trying to rent you his imaginary apartments. Aunsa will clean your wallet for sure.

Hi folks,

I'm planning to visit Colombia (probably Medellin, but am flexible) in June / July for a few weeks. I want to study Spanish at a language school while I'm there. Stay somewhere where I can study and sample some of the local delights (nightlife etc).

Has anyone got any recommendations they can share?

Thanks so much guys.

Learned my lesson long ago to check on local holidays before scheduling a trip, especially to Colombia, they seem to have more holidays and holy days then any other Latin American country I've been to. So anyway planning to go to Bogota in March. They have a national Holiday on March 21st, St. Joseph day. How big of a deal is this holiday and will it have any impact on my hobby?

Most national holidays are on a Monday (and I looked it up). If you ask, most people don't even know what the holiday is for. Just that they will be closed!

Doesn't appear to be a big holiday. I'm sure banks ect will be closed but I would think the bars and prepagos will be business as usual.

What makes a great gift for your favorite chica is to bring down an older laptop you are no longer using and convert it to windows spanish. I had one converted 3 years ago and today just picked up a converted 4 year old win7 10"notebook I had brought down this trip. The same guy did it again for only 30 k cop. PM me for store address. Obviously it is a pirated program so I do not want Billy Gates or Obuma and on another seek and destroy mission.

I've known about this drug for many years. I've never been a victim or even seen it but it does exist and an average of 3 dosing are reported a day in Bogota. In a city of 8 plus million the odds are in your favor but always be aware. Area bars in Sante Fe are probably the most likely target but could happen anywhere. Never leave your drink unattended.

March 22 2015:

For the first time in a decade, the top 10 happiest countries in the world are all in Latin America, according to the 2014 Gallup Positive Experience Index.

Paraguay placed first out of 143 countries, with its people reporting the most positive emotions on a daily basis, according to the survey. Gallup researchers released the results for the United Nations' third annual International Day of Happiness today (March 20).

To gauge happiness levels around the world, researchers interviewed about 1,000 people in each country, either in person or over the phone. All of the participants were age 15 or older, and answered questions about how happy they felt the day before.

More than 70 percent of the respondents worldwide said they experienced enjoyment; smiled or laughed; felt well rested; and thought they were treated with respect, the poll found. What's more, half of the participants said they had learned or did something interesting the day before the interview, according to the poll.

Gallup researchers compiled a "positive experience index score" for each country based on the responses to these five questions. Overall, the world has an average index score of 71 out of 100, but all of the Latin American countries that ranked in the top 10 scored higher than that.

Here are the 10 happiest countries, listed with their positive experience index scores:

1. Paraguay, 89.

2. Colombia, 84.

3. Ecuador, 84.

4. Guatemala, 84.

5. Honduras, 82.

6. Panama, 82.

7. Venezuela, 82.

8. Costa Rica, 81.

9. El Salvador, 81.

10. Nicaragua, 81.

The United States received a score of 79, making it the 15th happiest country in the world, tied with 11 other countries, including Argentina and Canada.

People reported feeling happy even in war-torn countries, "perhaps testimony of the resiliency of the human spirit," Gallup officials said in a statement.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents allegedly had "sex parties" with prostitutes hired by local drug cartels overseas over a period of several years, according to a report released Thursday by the Justice Department's watchdog.

The report did not specify the country where the parties occurred, but a law enforcement official familiar with the matter identified it as Colombia.

Seven of the 10 DEA agents alleged to have participated in the gatherings — most of which took place at an agent's "quarters" leased by the USA Government — admitted to having attended the parties, the report found. The agents, some of whom had top-secret security clearances, received suspensions of two to 10 days.

Former police officers in Colombia also alleged that three DEA supervisory special agents were provided with money, expensive gifts and weapons from drug cartel members, according to the report.

"Although some of the DEA agents participating in these parties denied it, the information in the case file suggested they should have known the prostitutes in attendance were paid with cartel funds," according to the 131-page report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz.

The findings were part of a much broader investigation into the handling of allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct from fiscal 2009 to 2012 at federal law enforcement agencies — the DEA, the FBI, the USA Marshals Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Horowitz said the investigation was "significantly impacted and unnecessarily delayed" by repeated difficulties his office had in obtaining relevant information from the FBI and the DEA. When he did receive the information, he said, it "was still incomplete. ".

In a statement, a spokesman for the Justice Department said officials took the issues raised in the inspector general's report seriously and are "taking steps to implement policies and procedures to help prevent them from happening in the future. ".

The investigation was launched in response to congressional inquiries following the 2012 prostitution scandal in Cartagena, Colombia, involving Secret Service agents.

At the time, one Secret Service advance agent implicated in the scandal told investigators that he had met with a prostitute as a result of an informal party that DEA agents hosted with Colombian women, according to officials briefed on the inquiry.

Ten of the 13 Secret Service personnel implicated were pressured to resign or retire, or were forced out of their jobs. Three were able to keep their positions, after it was determined that they had not violated their security clearances.

"The Department of Justice may not be taking adequate steps to prevent its own employees from buying sex and thereby contributing to the demand for the human sex trade," Grassley wrote to Acting Deputy Attorney General Sally Quillian Yates.

I have read media reports that Venezuelan girls have invaded the Colombian border town of Cucuta, and are offering sex services on the cheap there.

Well, if there any girls who give Colombianas a run for their money when it comes to beauty, it is Venezuelan women.

So, I thought, if a girl is a real beauty, she wouldn't stay stuck in Cucuta for long, and will leave to greener pastures (and more money) to bigger cities in Colombia.

Anyone on the ground that noticed Venezuelan P4 P girls in our usual hot-spots like in Medellin or Cali or Cartagena?

Because, if you can find both Colombianas and Venezuelan P4 P girls in Colombia, it will become the next best thing since heaven! .

Has anyone here been successful in opening a Colombian bank account, and if so how did you do it? I keep getting told that I need to have proof of income here in Colombia. I have read that you can open an account with your cedular extranjeria, passport, and proof of residency (utility bill or the like) but the proof of income in Colombia no can do. This was at Citi BTW. I wanted to open an account with them since I have a Citi account in the states but I am open to other banks if need be. Might have to try HSBC next.

Really only need the account to bring money in to buy a house. Otherwise I would just keep rocking the ATM like I've been doing for the last 4 years.

Surely there are some gringos here with Colombian bank accounts but no jobs?

It is possible to make contact with famous pornstars; I now have 2 friends from the Culioneros series.

Natasha and Isabella.

They are not hotter than any other hot Colombiana, but if you think that kind of carefree and openminded girls are your thing, it really turns you on, having seen what they love to do; it's an amazing feeling to communicate with them!

I migt marry one of them in the future, which would be a "convenience" marriage for her, but it does not include only her; she has friends and more!

This lays a bit in the future though; work and creating a funcional business comes first; but this kind of things, 100% impossible to happen in Sexprison Europe or Northamerica, just represents what is unbelievable good in Colombia; you have friendly people, good climate, economical living, sports, culture, etc; girls are just an superextra that comes on top of all this, even without it Colombia would still be a great place to live!

You don't have to be a star to make this come true, meeting model girls and thelike; a normal European guy can do, if he is a gentle man and nows his way around!

Money is the world's greatest afrodisiac; that is true of Colombian girls; they work as an dooropener and it does not have to be 1000's of $USdollars or €uros, amounts that you pay for a haircut in a nice saloon at home get you a de luxe babe in her apartment in Medellin, Calì, and Cartagena, while Bogotà sometimes seems to be up to 100% more expensive and with the cold humid climate I just payed $US1500 to escape from!

It is interesting to see what salaries are in Colombia at the http://www.tusalario.org/colombia/Portada/tusalario/compara-tu-salario.

A doctor at a company with 10 years experience makes 3. 4 M COP - 5. 1 M COP, which is $US1350-$US2000. How much does such a person make in the US? Five to ten times more?

As a normal income guy, single, working a lot before a longer stay in Colombia; you enter a many time fully developed society, since you don't have to visit the parts that are not, and suddenly you can afford stuff on a daily basis that fills your every need; and girls are interested in you, and the cultures approve of her being it, and you of her!

Yes, Colombia is the next best thing since Paradise, and her sisters in Venezuela, are very Welcome!

Why do you always take the conversation to marrying a paisas and putting her on a track? It sounds like you're trying to pimp your wife? Then break down the stats of how much a Colombian _ makes and yeah.

Why? Can't you just enjoy the fun of it all and the natural beauty? Why do you always take it to the math side of thing?

The second part: Which Natsha and Isabela?

I am a fan of that series and I would disagree that they are hotter than most every other Colombian girl I will say they are hot and I would like to make a personal movie with one or both of them.

LMK if this is possible.
