There are so many videos on YT warning against visiting Medellin.......In 2023 thirty-one foreigners were murdered in Medellin while three hundred and sixty-one Colombians were killed there. I suppose there should be warnings to Colombians against visiting Medellin too.

I have visited Medellin about 20 times over the last 8 years with some trips lasting 3 months. I have even gotten functional in Spanish. If you are careful with who you invite and where you stay, there is not a 'high chance' you will get drugged and robbed with any girl you take back. But even if you are careful in how you screen your chicas, it is impossible to make it 'no chance'. A buddy of mine stayed in a building that is well known for great security and was drugged by a chica who had gotten in with a fake ID. I had to lend him money just to eat.

That people will post here saying they personally haven't had a problem is statistically insignificant.

I returned from a 6 week trip last month. It will be my last. I loved MDE. But for me MDE is over. The chicas are getting more mercenary. The locals are getting more angry and hostile. The street has gotten more dangerous. The influx of Nomads and tourists has made logging costs unreasonable. The Peso has gotten stronger making everything more expensive.

I'm heading back to Asia.

There are so many videos on YT warning against visiting Medellin. The sex scene is too dangerous with too many druggings that have led to a big rise in deaths of Western tourists. Can anyone with first hand experience comment?

How do you take girls back to your room if you know there is a high chance that you could get drugged and robbed? Any tips? Is it safe to take a girl back if you lock away your valuables and don't take your eyes off your drink?

I will be in MDE in a few weeks, staying at a female-friendly hotel and meeting the ladies from https://lacelestina.co/ for privacy and security purposes.

I am assuming these girls are not going to drug and rob me.

In 2023 thirty-one foreigners were murdered in MedellinI would venture a guess, overwhelmingly most if not all of them were mongers of some sort. If you add up every murder of mongers around the world on all of this forums locales, I would doubt they total 1.

So that would make Medellin the most dangerous place to monger in the world, in fact more dangerous than all other locales combined, I am curious to know their clearance rate down there.

I returned from a 6 week trip last month. It will be my last. I loved MDE. But for me MDE is over. The chicas are getting more mercenary. The locals are getting more angry and hostile. The street has gotten more dangerous..I get it. I had a woman in Barranquilla who was really sweet. We met in Medellin and she talked with her cousin who lived there. She became crazy aggressive and demanded more money. I dumped her because the sweet girl I liked had become this ruthless money machine. She had this crazy fixation on $200 and this was in 2021. I considered her a friendly acquaintance if not a friend but when she went into Medellin full hooker mode, I went into john mode and told her she was not worth that much. The greed spurred on by her Medellin cousin destroyed whatever we had. Even when she was back in Barranquilla, she still had the $200 price tag. I just shrugged my shoulders and told her if I wanted to get laid, I could get it for 10% of what she was asking. Medellin completely ruined her.

And it was not just her. The women in Medellin have an edge unlike women elsewhere in the country. It is like a game to see which sex can screw over the other sex first. So there was this defensiveness and shitty attitude towards men that I did not see elsewhere in the country. The irony is a few women went out of their way to show me that they were not the money grubbing, scamming hookers so characteristic of Medellin. So yeah, the beauties are here, but they come with an edge. My gal's daughter even made a comment when we were in Mexico when a bunch of Colombians came to swim in a pool we were in. She said, "Paisas! (people from Medellin) I hate paisas. " They have no use for Medellin at all, and they are not alone.

I have been to places in Colombia where beauties abound, the countryside is gorgeous, and people do not lock their doors. The women in Bogota are not as pretty but they are classier and friendlier. If you are into women with curves, Cali is tough to beat. Barranquilla is where the famed Colombian beauties like Shakira and Sofia Vergara are from and beauties abound in that tropical climate.

So yeah, go to Asia if your dollar stretches further, but most of Colombia is not like Medellin. Not at all.

Follow Along. This is bad. They don't even say how young/old the girl was. Could have been just minor for prostitution purposes, not even minor as per common law. And the guy gets arrested on camera like he was Bin Laden.

Colombia = foreign monger entrapment country number one now.

Colombia = foreign monger entrapment country number one now.Entrapment? Not likely. And what is a minor for prostitution purposes. I know the answer but in the US and other countries and in Colombia this aspect of law is the same. And what you refer to as a minor by common law is ridiculous. It is not common law, it is statute law, and it is no excuse to somehow think that it is less wrong to be with a minor sex worker. Whether some were unknowingly with someone under 18 in a prostitution situation. Yes that has happened, and is very unfortunate. But it is up to all that are part of this to be quite sure that you are not over this line.

And in Colombia you may get arrested in any manner they choose.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of the mayor or others implying that it is only the dirty gringos doing this. That is political and does nothing for the estimated several hundred thousand victims in the country. Hopefully that will be dealt with as well, even if it does not get the same publicity. There is awareness of the problem, and the internal look will come because many people there know it and can point it out.

Two things:

BBBJCIM great experience recently for 120,000 pesos. Prices are a bit higher now, but can't complain given the general inflation everywhere.

Guys still getting busted in Meddy for messing with minors. This American got caught the other day: https://youtu.be/rEWIXMaIcQ0?si=V3C_ZJ_D4-bGujK3.

I'm heading back to Asia.Nothing against Venezuelans but its very well known the Venezuelans that have infiltrated Colombian cities are not buy scouts. They use women as weapons to prey on Foreigners and Medellin is one of their favorite places to target Ill-informed tourists. The girls attracted tourists, the tourists attract the Venezuelan gangs. Try learning Spanish and go to some of the other lesser known cities in Colombia. Cartagena, Bogota and Barranquilla not being one of them.

Follow Along.Let's see. 659,000 foreign visitors last year, roughly 1,800 per day. 120 days so far this year, or 216,000 visitors, with 29 deaths. That's 0. 013%.

Every year, around 5,000 US travelers die while traveling abroad.

Not sure why it's important to follow along, or follow a YouTube provider who apparently can't handle simple math.
