One of the non-pros from my number list: 19 yo bogotana. This one also allowed few photos. Unfortunately for her privacy I had to cut a really pretty face from the photos.

I went to SantaFe last Thursday to check it out daytime. After reading hundreds of positive reports here I was expecting more girls. Maybe just bad timing but it definitely wasn't "hundreds of girls" on carreras between calle 23 and calle 24. It's interesting area to see, but quite sketchy as ElMoreno202 yesterday wrote. I got immediately flashbacks from Metaxourgio RLD of Athens which is similarly rough looking, has about same going rate (10), and is also quite unsafe.

Does anyone have suggestions what time SF has most girls? I walked the "8" shape (see screenshot from wikiguide) several times between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm and had some beers at Atunes and another similar joint. Atunes had better talent than the streets that day. I'm looking forward to visit SantaFe also evening time before making any further conclusions.

I took few pics from Calle 23 when leaving by taxi. These girls on Calle 23 were less hardcore looking than those in front of motels.

Does anyone have suggestions what time SF has most girls? Go around 7 or 8 pm, especially on a Friday. In the daytime everyone is at work, so it is pretty calm. But the bustle starts when people get off work.

After you get to your hotel relax for an hour or so.

Last time I was there I checked and walked to Chicas Milenio. I was walking fast to get there.

I got dizzy and had to show my walk down.

That walk was from the Calle 80's to 70's.

A couple of random questions before my upcoming trip to Bogota. I haven't really read anyone mentioning about the altitude there, have any of you guys suffered from altitude sickness there?

The city is at high ski resort altitude (2640 metres). I don't know much about that condition and don't think I've been at that height since skiing at about 14 years old, but knowing my luck I'll get it there! I have visions of me wandering around with barely enough energy to walk, let alone shag!!

On another note, is hand sanitiser easy to find in the stores there, is it something commonly used there?

On another note, is hand sanitiser easy to find in the stores there, is it something commonly used there? The altitude didn't bother me much the first time, coming from sea level. I was 51 or 52 and out of shape. The only issue was trying to walk up any noticeable hill. Walking from the Transmilenio up to the funicular for Monserrate just about did me in.

Coming from Medellin, after about 3 months in Medellin I had no issues. Was in better shape, 20# lighter, 3 years older and had been doing a lot of walking around the hills of El Poblado. After 6 months in Medellin, I went to Bogota and ended up walking almost 25 miles in one day, with no ill effects. By that point I had dropped 50# and was in pretty good shape from walking about 100 miles per week. I like to walk, it helps me think.

If you're coming from sea level, I'd recommend trying to get into a regular exercise routine before your trip. It'll help offset the reduced oxygen. If you're from someplace at 4000' or more above sea level, you probably won't have any issues.

You can find hand sanitizer in most grocery stores or department stores. Probably won't find it at the smaller markets.

I got out at 16 a like normal. Atunes was closed again. Oh crap! What the deal with this place?

Great report. Atunes is a day time club. You went there too late.

Took the opportunity to ride the Transmilenio on Christmas as it was largely empty. Most business were closed in Bogota and there were few people in the streets, or the Transmilenium. So, went to Santa Fe, and got there around 1 pm. Not a whole lot going on, but there were definitely chicas working. Enough options to keep me interested. After a few tours around the blocks, I've settled on two different girls on different locations that I wanted. When walked over to my first option, she was gone. So walked two blocks to my second choice, and she was there. 40 K pesos later it was one of the best sessions ever. She make it a very good Christmas. Decided to check out Plaza Victorino. The plaza was dead with not much going on. Usually it's full of people and business, but not on Christmas. Santa Fe however is still rocking on Christmas. So I went back to Santa Fe. Got there around 3 pm. A lot more people out, including more girls! I wasn't planning on having a second session, just to hang out and look around, scouting for next time. I ate an egg and sausage lunch at the bakery on Calle 23 near 15th from where you can see girls hanging out across the street. As I was eating, a light-skinned mulata goes to the corner across the street. She was fresh and thin, in a workout suit. I couldn't keep my eyes off her. She left the corner, but came back shortly, dancing a bit attracting attention from cars. I decide I want her, but some guy goes up and starts talking to her, basically hanging out with her. They share a cigarette or a joint. They leave the corner then come back together. I'm hoping this guy will leave as he looks rough, and I don't know their status. Finally I say 'F it--I'm going to walk up and talk to her', but again they leave the corner, walking away they separate. She turns left on the corner of 23rd and 16, I try following her, but she goes out of sight. I walk down the block she went, down Carrera 16, south of CL 23, looking for her, but cannot locate her. On this block there are a bunch of guys hanging out, there are two bonfires with music playing. Maybe I'm getting in over my head looking for this girl (when there are so many others!) but she was dazzling. Some of the guys are checking me out, sizing me up (tale-tale signs indicate to them that I'm not a local). Still, the only thing that happens is a bummish guy asks me for change. I gave him a few hundred pesos, he was happy, and I kept walking briskly throughout. I decided I've taken enough risks and fun, so back to the Transmilenium and back home. It's around 5 pm and plenty of seats available on Transmilenium. Basically, Santa Fe is worth your time, even on Christmas day!

Best times, days for SF are Wednesday-Saturday 8:30 p-12:30 a Even on Sunday-Tuesday after 9 pm there are usually some really hot girls that most guys would be happy with.

Going in the daytime can be good in afternoons. It's really nice top see the girls in day light. Even in the morning and lunch time there are girls there for the lunch / breakfast crowd.

Attunes will have stunners there in the day time too.

Colombian pay day is the 1st and 15th this is a huge factor in quantity too.

If you are okay in the plane, you should be okay in the city. The elevation of Bogota is 8800 feet. The plane is pressurized to coincide with an elevation between 6000 and 8000 feet.

I have asthma and sometimes I feel it when I get off the plane, but by the time I get through immigration it is gone. That's an interesting analogy, thanks! I didn't know that. I'm usually fine on a plane, so fingers crossed!

But DAMN, I hope the daytime scene is better than that when I go to Santa Fe, I wouldn't travel thousands of miles for that scene. Those are the less hardcore chicas? I would hate to see the more hardcore ones! I wouldn't go near any of them!

Where I live in Belgium is only 15 m above sea level apparently, I just checked!

Was just wondering, why do all you guys take Uber in Bogota, are the taxi's not pretty cheap there as it is? Which of the two are safer? Maybe it's a cultural difference. Here in Belgium where things are slow to change, they haven't really caught on yet. In Brussels an Uber driver was actually taken to court, the Taxi mafia are very strong there.

In most places the shared ride apps are cheaper than taxis. You do not have to worry about a hot meter or haggling about the price. You also have to flag down a taxi. You can just push the button on your phone and the Uber comes to you. You do not need money for Uber. You can have a credit card stored on your account and it automatically charges the ride to that. I have an American Express Platinum and they give me $200 per year ($15 per month, $35 for December) credit for Uber.

Last year I was taking a ride from the airport in Manila to the hotel that I stay in there. It usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The cost was about $5. Traffic ended up being a mess that day. It took 3 hours to get to my hotel. It was still $5. Imagine what it would have been in a taxi.

If you take Uber from the airport, the driver will meet you in the parking lot. They won't come near the taxi line.

Taxis in Bogota have a reputation for overcharging. Beware of anyone offering you a taxi inside of the airport. It's likely a freelancer who will charge a ridiculous amount.

My last 2 trips to Bogota were short trips and I traveled light. Walk out the door, hop on the green SITP bus for Portal El Dorado. At Portal El Dorado, get a card for the Transmilenio, hop on and I can ride to within a few blocks of my hotel for about $1.

Went with 23 year old Venezuelan for $60 k for 30 minutes. Sex was ok but loved looking at that ass. More fun times to come. To all my ass Lovera enjoy.

Wingo, Viva Colombia, Latam and Avianca had cheap flights within the country for a cheap as $25 flights.

And I never said their were no budget airlines in South America. Wrong guy. I flew into Santa Marta for $356 roundtrip from Miami on Viva Colombia. I then took a bus to Cartagena stayed there for a day. Then decided I wanted to go to another city before going to San Andres so I went to Medellin $26 flight on VivaColombia. Once I had some fun there I found it was $27 to fly from Bogota to San Andres on Wingo instead of paying $120 from Medellíand. So I looked for a ticket to Medellin to Bogota and found one for $29 on Wingo. So I had a good time in Sante Fe for a night before having a relaxing few days with my Cali girl in San Andres who's round-trip was $71 using travel company Aviatur. After a few days on the island, she went to Cali and I decided to go to Barranquilla, where I am now, which cost me $42 on Wingo. I use Skyscanner, Momondo and Google flights to find the flights. Hope this helps.

Finally squeezing in my first trip to Colombia and have a total of 4 day / nights: Sunday to Wednesday in mid February and want to see two cities. From RTFF seems Bogota and Medellin are best options. Is one city better or worse on a Sunday & Monday? Is there much variation in the action by the night of the week?

My interest is straight up P4 P (no time to hassle with Cupid or FB) and no real interest in late night partying, but want a good selection of under 22 year old chicas without implants for afternoon and early evening action.

Cheers. Really hope Colombia holds up to the hype! I fear I am spoiled a bit by Southeast Asia.

I fear I am spoiled a bit by Southeast Asia.As a veteran monger I always try to manage my expectations especially a place I have never been before NO MATTER what you may read so just come and go with the flo and your visit will open up opportunities.

Now for 4 days I suggest pick ONE SPOT, be it either Bogota or Medellin, as you have more time to learn the lay of the land. I have experienced the Sundays to Wednesdays mongering visits to many cities in Colombia looking for pussy and my take as it pertains to Bogota and Medellin is they both do slow down a bit during this weekly time slot BUT a little bit of patience and putting in some efforts can and will lead to some great finds no matter what day of the week it may be.

Remember expectations only lead to resentments. Have fun!

Happy New Year 2019!

First trip to Bogota coming up in a week or so and I need some advice. Hotel or air B&B? I have read that some hotels claim they are "guest friendly" but only when the guest is there at check or else you will have to pay a fee to bring them to your room in the evening?

Or is airB&b the way to go? I guess its important to book 2 guests for an air B&B listing or you could run into trouble? Any help is appreciated.

Any help is appreciated.I know hotels that charge you a fee when you bring a girl in. I once booked a hotel for 2 people by myself and 3 hours later when my chica finally arrived, I received her in the lobby and we just walked in the elevator so we can get to my room in the 5th floor. When we got in the elevator one of the receptionists loudly told us in front of other people in the lobby "if you guys take longer than 20 minutes, that's an extra $#" LOL so you're going to have to pay extra for the most part. Airbnbs can be tricky. What type of Airbnb place were you looking at? Rent a room or an entire apartment? If you book with 2 then they might ask for the info of the other person, but once you bring that girl, I don't know if they will allow you to bring another girl especially in the same night. What I usually do is get a nice Motel to stay for 1, 2, or 4 hours with the girl / girls. I know many of them.

Airbnbs don't always solve the problem, as the owners don't want mongers to annoy their neighbors. You always need to ask, be it a hotel or Airbnb. Having said that, some hotels will let you bring girls until 10 PM, then it's extra. Send them an email and ask.

I brought a girl to JW Marriott during my stay. Granted, she didn't look like a hooker, but even if she did, I don't think anyone would stop her anyway, at least during busy hours.

Remember that Viva Colombia as other airlines have very strict baggage allowances, kinda like Spirit. So if you have a regular suitcase I think you will pay more than $25 a flight. Saying that if you can get away with just a backpack then the flights are great.

Yes, I always knew there were "budget" airlines in Latin America, though some clown tried to tell a different thread they only existed in North America and Europe. I'm looking at flights on GOL right now, and the main difference the three fare classes is how many bags you can check in for free (2, 1, 0).

Went to Loutron at around 3 pm. I arrived at the same time when some Colombian executive was leaving as he finished his session and the doorman had to open the gate for his parked Mercedez to pull out. I went in and there were 4 girls that presented themselves. 2 of them were stunners. The girl that was with the executive didn't come out to present herself and was probably the best one. I was quoted 280.00 for an hour. They said if you use your credit card it will cost more, about 320.000. The presentation of the girls is like the one in Energy (in Medellin) where each girl comes out in a well lit room one by one in a robe and bra / panties and takes out the robe and gives you a nice spin to see her whole body clearly, so you know exactly what you're working with. I'm not a big fan of other places where girls just line up together in the darkness and have on those undergarments that covers their belly so when you get to the room you find belly fat or even worse a large gut.

Greetings,

I made a mistake I instantly regretted afterwards of trying a massage parlor in Bogota. Going in, I was certain I only wanted a massage + HJ but it turned in to the woman licking my scrotum and testicles for a few seconds here and there maybe for a total of 30 seconds. She never put the my entire head in her mouth and asked if I wanted oral and I politely refused. I paid a relatively high amount ($200,000 pesos) but instead of feeling high and mighty walking out of the massage parlor, I started to question the amount of unnecessary risk I took. Does anyone have experience with fellatio in Latin America or Bogota specifically? Does anyone know if the individuals who work in these massages parlor tend to be tested? Serious answers would be appreciated. I specifically went to the Absolut Spa.

So first question answer is yes, second question answer is no. But I guess your real question is what is the risk with bareback fellatio. Nothing specific with Bogota. There is a specific threat to talk about STD.

Serious answers would be appreciated. I specifically went to the Absolut Spa.Someone should have warned you.

I thought she had been arrested, but apparently not. In Colombia they call her "la lengua de muerte", the tongue of death. She's a carrier of the fatal Tongue-Ball Disease. Chances are it's already too late for you.

If your balls itch, you're already infected. Whatever you do, don't scratch them, that just speeds up the spread of the disease. Some guys say, if you catch it early enough, you can pour bleach on your balls to kill the germs. I don't recommend this.

All I can suggest is that you immediately find a doctor, tell him what happened, tell him you think you have Tongue-Ball Disease, and ask if there's any cure.

If you're lucky enough to survive this encounter, take precautions. Buy a can of polyurethane sealant and put 3 or 4 layers on your testicles.

Don't worry RunTweek if they make fun of you, there is a first time for everyone. It reminds me my godfather on ISG, Peter. He is a legend, his reports made me discover the wonderful world of German FKK. One of my highlights in my mongerlife was the night I finally could meet him in FKK World in Frankfurt. That guy I admired so much, told me his very first time with a pro. He was so afraid of STD, he came with chirurgical hand gloves and anti bacterial mask! Poor girl! LOL! We all know were we have started, but no one knows were we end with our personal limits in the monger world.

Hello,

I could not retrieve my previous account somehow. I mainly lurk here since I don't travel much outside US alone to monger. I was in Bogota last year for a few days and loved it so decided go return. My previous Santa Fe experiences are great as I had sessions which were all good except for one. I arrived today after midnight and went. However, it seemed the Santa Fe street gals el rato now is like less than 10 minutes vs 20 ish I used to have? Could this be because it is so late at night? BTW I barely speak Spanish. Worst was one girl who sucked about 50 k extra from me for anal and the knock came before I could even enter. She asked to extend session but I was so jetlegged I just said fuck it. I will visit chapinero tomorrow as the day casas were good to me. Any recommendations for ones with hot girls? I loved tantra last time as they do BBBJ vut the girls were not real lookers. Thanks in advance.

As Routard would say, all hotels in Bogota are guest-friendly, but most, in my research, will make you pay for the privilege.

If you don't care about money, just pay the guest fees at the hotels. There is no way around this in Colombia. Some of the more rustic traditional places actually charge per head even if you're all staying in the same room! (this isn't specific to Colombia BTW).

If you want better value for your money, book an Airbnb. Make sure you put 2 guests down and DON"T book insta-booking. Leave in the notes when requesting to book that you specifically plan to have company, and it won't always necessarily be the same guest. Then if they give you any problems, they are at your mercy because you can 1 star them on Airbnb and REALLY hurt their biz.

Owners no matter how much it might hurt their business will not accept prostitutes sharing the same roof as their family. If any hotel in Bogota is girlfriendly as hotel might charge double occupancy but no law allows him to refuse an adult with ID just because the guest looks like a prostitute. Air BNB is not 100% girl friendly as it depends of the personal rules of the owner and any citizen is allowed to refuse entrance of a stranger in his home without explanation.

Culturally, that sort of shit is looked down upon, in Bogota and just about anywhere else in the western world (they even had an episode of Sex and the City dedicated to it).

It's not like anybody in Bogota really has any idea who is or isn't a pro anyways. 50% of women in Bogota between ages 15 and 50 have charged for sex at least once in their lives.

It's certainly a good idea to not get an owner-occupied AirBnb at any rate, just generally. I've seen ones where they draw the bolt on the front door at 9 pm and don't open it again until 6 am the next day!

Went to the Primer de Mayo clubs in the south. A bottle (media) is 55,000 and comes with a show. The prices in the south are more economical than anywhere else. The great majority of the girls were young pretty Venezolanas. What I noticed is that these girls seem less hardened than the other clubs in Bogota and actually seem to enjoy it. I think it's because the turnover rate is high so many of these girls are new and since the pay for them isn't as good, they leave the business. If it wasn't for the girls stripping, one would think that these places were actually normal clubs as everyone of the girls are dancing with the men giving a GFE to each of them for the night. One thing to note is that these clubs start pretty late and this part of town can be even more dangerous than Santa Fe so be cautious and don't take your phone out on the street.

But I care even more about not getting ripped off, because this is exactly what hotels are doing charging you $30+ for bringing a girl for a few hours. Look, I totally get it if a proprietor doesn't want having prostitutes in your house -- then don't admit them. But if you do admit them for extra $$ and that's beyond the double occupancy, mind you, then fuck your morals. Hookers don't consume or tax any hotel resources, and there is no justification for the upcharge. Pure money grab.

Any help is appreciated.I had no issues at the AirBNB rental I had in Bogota (Museo Parque Central in El Centro). The building was well secured and once they knew my face as someone was staying there, they opened the door without hesitation for me or my company.

My homeboy just stayed at the Hotel Ibis (near the Museo Nacional). He told me that he had zero problems taking chicas from Santa Fe back to his room.

My last time in Santa Fe I meet a girl in a club named "Troya". We decided to go to the hostel with her friend and a bottle of Aguardiente. We spend the whole night together and it was a blast. We drank the whole bottle, and the girls gave me a nice blowjob. Later, when one of the girls went sleep, the other one gave me a crazy rimbjob. It was really crazy, she put the whole tongue inside. She was so horny. And couldn't stop it. This was the first rimjob in my life and it was a superb experience.

Team, Wonderful landscape to explore. Was going blind without maps just with locanto feeds / etc. Great to see the maps now in the forum. This place is way better than Medellin, Costa Rica, Tijuana. In terms of value.

3 times had very good 18,19 yrs bubbly young girls in Santa Fe. Although just 20 minutes shots for 35-40 K well worth. Been to Divas and Adhara. Saw the lineup, but came out. I am not a big fan of splurging. Part of the fun for me is to put in the time and search to find value. Been to few EMPs around Chapinero area. Quality wasn't up to mark. May be went at a bad time around 4 pm ish.

If anyone around and want to meetup between sessions, let me know guys!! Would love to exchange notes.

Cheers,

Kris.

Thanks a lot guys for your feedback about the altitude and uber / taxis in Bogota. I will be coming to Bogota in about 3 weeks.

What is Santa Fe really like during the day, because a while back people here were saying how great it was, and that there was a lot of action, but that it's best to leave before it gets dark. Then recently Jalle said it was pretty dead during the day and put up some photos showing only a few women, who in my eyes were certainly not worth visiting for! In reply some other forum members agreed that it's pretty useless in the day and all the action is at night!? So now I'm a bit confused. One of the main reasons I want to come to Bogota is to visit this area, so what's the real situation? Has the daytime scene got worse there since the police crackdown recently?

How far is it from the Transmilenio stop to Santa Fe RLD? Is it a safe walk during the day? If you visit Santa Fe at night, when leaving, is it safe to hail a cab? I am still a total novice when it comes to Uber which doesn't really exist where I leave. By the way, I will try to not carry anything non-essential on me, but what about a phone? Can't use maps / uber / take chica's numbers without it.

What's the general rule here, paying up front? If I'm asking for extra's I will usually pay the standard fee and then tell them 'I'll pay you for the extras if you actually perform them'. Usually they agree, would that approach work in Bogota?

The average chica on websites such as photosprepagados.com is slim, relatively pretty with small tits. Is this just because that's the type Columbian guys prefer as escorts, or are they typical of Colombian women? Because I generally prefer curvier types. Somebody on the Medellin thread said that average women there are becoming heavier, not the same in Bogota? Will I find curvier ones in the clubs and Santa Fe than on the websites?

What's the safest way to travel from the airport to Chapinero? Is it possible to pre-book a taxi, or is there a regulated taxi stand at the airport? I speak Spanish and am a pretty aware guy, but at the same time there's no need to take risks at the start of your trip, when you have all your belongings.

Is Bogota a good city for cycling? When I check google maps, no street looks crazy busy or narrow, there are some cycle paths and the city is relatively flat, I think anyway.

There is a learning curve to using the Transmilenio which isn't worth it if you're only going to have a really short stay. Also, I stopped counting how many times I have seen people get robbed after dark at the transmilenio. (There are almost no cops at night and the Transmilenio is full of Venezueleans (Don't want to sound racist) who don't pay to get in because they run past the bus and car lanes and illegally jump into the station. They are usually tall and you will notice the crowd of people at the stations change at night to young males age 15-26. I had a friend who almost got robbed in the Bus. There were 2 guys who came into the semi empty-bus and out of all the seats they could choose, they chose the seats that were on his same row. One of the guys went ahead and sat by himself in the 2 empty seats in the same row but across the walking aisle to my friend but the other guy instead of sitting next to his buddy in the empty seat decided to sit right next to my friend. The guy was staring at my friends jean pocket and saw the shape of a phone within his jeans. The guy kept signaling looking at buddy and then started to do the cross sign (I kinds don't get why but I guess it's like saying "Jesus forgive me for what I'm about to do" My friend bolted out of there and got out at the next stop. If you're going alone, I would say just get a taxi and try not to have an accent LOL.

I contacted a girl whom I met at club Olimpia (Club in the North). She charged me 300 k for an hour but I negotiated to 150 k. She was hesitant on meeting me as she doesn't meet clients outside of the club. The majority of clients at the north clubs are rich old Colombian businessmen who go with friends and buy bottles and talk / flirt / dance with pretty chicas (overwhelmingly Colombian girls). These girls can charge / makeup insane prices hence why most mongers on this forum don't go there as once they hear your accent. You're done LOL but most Colombian clients don't even session with these girls either. She told me that a businessman who works at Davivienda bank paid her 1,000,000 once for a session at the club and he was so drunk that when he lied down on the bed he fell asleep LOL I paid 34 k for a 12 hour stay at a nice motel with a jacuzzi. This Colombian girl had a 9 face and a 8 body and was 20 years old. She brung weed for us to smoke and gave me the best sex I ever had (and I had a lot), she was true GFE. We ordered drinks, jacuzzi, shower together etc. She ended up staying the whole night and didn't ask for a tip.

OK, so when you are is Santa Fe, Ubers will not be an option be / see the Ubers don't pick people up from that location (they will drop you off be / see they had no choice, but they do have the choice to pick you up from there, which they don't) partly be / see Uber is illegal in Colombia so if the other Taxi's notice the Uber they will call the police, yell, or worse case scenario throw rocks at the Uber which is what Uber drivers told me that had happened and they prob don't want to pick mongers up from that location.Actually I posted pictures here last October of when an Uber picked me up in Santa Fe at about 4:30 am. Here it is once again.

Actually I posted pictures here last October of when an Uber picked me up in Santa Fe at about 4:30 am. Here it is once again.I've tried using Uber multiple times in Santa Fe and not once did it work. I either ended up waiting 35 minutes for them top pick me up and then the driver's cancelling before they can even get near Santa Fe or Uber endlessly trying to find a driver that would pick me up. Maybe it worked for you because it was at 4:30 am? At that time the majority of clubs are closed and there are a lot less people / cars and traffic there at that time. I always tried getting an Uber from 8:00 pm to 1:30 am don't know if that has something to do with it. I know that if you walk a couple blocks away from the center of Santa Fe it might work but isn't recommended as these streets can be more empty. I don't know how it worked for you. When I tried it, I ended up having to stare at my Iphone X on the streets of Santa Fe for half an hour waiting for an Uber that never showed up (I was with a friend and don't recommend you doing this alone).

You been to Brasil? In my experience, they do it way more than any other destination.I've never been rimmed in Brazil but I do believe they would do it if asked, they're up for any thing. I've never asked as it's not in my repertoire. However, in Asia in some saunas its a mandatory part of the service provided by the wgs.

If you're going alone, I would say just get a taxi and try not to have an accent LOL.Hi Bluecar, thanks for your helpful, though rather scary advice about the Transmilenio! Are they safe to use in the day at least? I will be going for 7 10 days, so may be worth me learning the routes. Uber sound like a pain to use there, especially if the Taxis are relatively cheap anyway. So, since Uber and Transmilenio are not recommended, is it easy and safe to hail a cab in Santa Fe at night at least?

Who can advise me about the best way to come from the airport, I looked at Routard's report but don't see anything there. And is Santa Fe relatively dead in the daytime or not? And are chica's paid upfront or afterwards, here in Belgium for example East European women take payment first whereas you can pay the Domininican chicas afterwards.

Is Bogota in general not safe to walk around after dark, ie 6 PM ? What about the nicer parts of Usaquen and Chapinero ? I know that for many American visitors this may seem fairly normal as you mainly drive everywhere, but for someone like me who comes from a European city where I can walk about all night if I wanted without a care in the world (Antwerp), that's pretty sad! I am an evening person, so when not mongering, just sitting in Cabs and going to shopping malls at night sounds really boring! Anyway, I will see how it is on the ground. Apologies in advance to Mr Enternational for asking 'mundane' questions and not just winging it, but would really appreciate any advice you guys can give me.

My last 2 trips to Bogota were just for the weekend and I traveled light. For me the best way was to hop on the free, green SITP bus for Portal Dorado and catch the Transmilenio, then walk the last 3 blocks to my hotel.

Another way is to ask your hotel if they have a driver who does airport pickup. In that situation, it can be confusing because he will be parked in the lot and you'll have to figure out where to find him.

The easiest way is to walk out the door of the airport and find the guy running the taxi stand. Tell him where you are going, he will give you a ticket with the price and direct you to the taxi.

I've ridden every line of the Transmilenio end to end and have never had or seen a problem. I've been on when it was so crowded that everyone should have been wearing condoms. I've been on when it was basically empty. During rush hour traffic it's packed to capacity and beyond. During off hours it's not bad. It's a bumpy ride and you'll get bounced and jerked around, but it's the quickest way to get around.

Chicas are paid afterwards, except for strip clubs and some casas.

I've walked from the middle of Chapinero up to about Calle 130 during the day and night, up to about 11:30 pm. There is always a risk, but I felt reasonably safe.

JjBee62 and WindAngel, thanks a lot for your helpful feedback! Is the taxi stand at the airport regulated and trustworthy then? I'll probably be staying at an Airbnb, still have to book it. So maybe I can ask the owners for a pick up service. I'll look into it.

Is the taxi stand at the airport regulated and trustworthy then? There is a taxi stand with an official person directing you. I believe they will give you a receipt. Plus they have cameras everywhere. It should be safe. But, as a tourist, every taxi I took at the airport attempted to scam me. Normally just for a small amount, but one time it was ridiculous. I know a girl that will never go back to Colombia because she got extorted for $50 or $80 USD. Probably the same way one taxi driver tried to scam me. When I asked how much, he pointed to the meter, which was a ridiculous amount if you don't use the chart.

A good App to use to calculate the taxi fare is "Calculadora de Tarifas", which has all the necessary inputs for the surcharges. IMO, the airport taxi is safe. Just know what the fare is, be polite, and have exact change. Just like most airports in the world.

I'm from America, and I always tip, especially since they always help you with your luggage. But I hate it when they try to add to the fare without me adding the tip.

There is a coupon service (pre-paid) for a mini-van (as of last May). It cost more, but that's what you might be looking for.

I've gotten it many times around midnite. The problem is that many Uber drivers don't want to pick up in Santa Fe. The Uber App will sometimes say that all its driver are busy. Then you just have to try again. Once a female driver accepted; she was 15 minutes away; she got near my area, and she cancelled. Then I just had to try again. It normally takes me between 10 to 20 minutes to get Uber. Worst case was about 30 minutes.

10 or 20 minute wait is a pain. Next time I'm thinking of using the taxis that's waiting in front of the main clubs. Logically, it seems that it should be safe. Do you use the meter or is it a flat rate? There is a person in a uniform that calls and opens the taxi door. Does he work for the clubs? Do you tip him?

Also, I always put down Troya as the pick-up location. Uber App will put the "preferred pick-up location" at the back entrance. Uber cannot pick or drop you off on that main street.

I usually use Uber. I like that I don't have to tell the taxi driver the address with my bad Spanish accent, or show them the location on Google Maps. But Uber has its bad points. The additional wait and the dreaded surge pricing.

Another way is to ask your hotel if they have a driver who does airport pickup. In that situation, it can be confusing because he will be parked in the lot and you'll have to figure out where to find him.Now that will get him scammed. Once me and my girlfriend were at the Courtyard Hotel trying to get an Uber to go downtown. Those mfs kept canceling though and it was raining so we decided to take that hotel car without asking the prices. We got downtown and that mf said 28K. I cussed his ass out. I told him that we could have gone from the airport to downtown AND back for that much. He said don't be mad at him, because the hotel sets the prices. I think he ended up knocking it down to 25K though.

I still say he is putting too much thought into getting from the airport. I have always just walked outside and hopped into the first taxi that pulls up. No big deal. Even in Vietnam where I can't even say hello in the local language, a report on ISG said take this kind of taxi. I walked outside and got into that kind of taxi and showed the address of where I was going. Cut and dry.

Or if you are that timid about it, go with one of those guys that come up to you saying taxi when you walk out of Customs. No idea what they charge though. Or ask the hotel (air bnb owner in his case) how much a taxi should be from the airport and tell one of those guys that you will pay that amount to go there.

There's a surcharge. Probably won't get scammed, but will pay more than the going rate.

As for the guys saying taxi inside the airport I can tell you what they charge. Took one late night, first time in Bogota, to hotel near Parque 93. Got there and he asked for $60. The hotel security asked him how much and he repeatedly it. He asked again and it dropped to 60 k. He gave him a brief lecture and told me 40 k, which was still about 15 k too much.

Been lurking for a while and currently considering a trip to Bogota. RTFF but still have a few questions I was hoping the seniors could help answer.

An FAQ mentioned that April-May is the rainy season. How bad are we talking usually and does this affect the scene at all? I've been through east Asia and SEA a few times, and was wondering how Colombian rainy season compares.

Obviously having Spanish proficiency would be a huge plus with the girls, but it seems like it's doable without. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to navigate the city without any Spanish skills. Seems like a few members have hired personal drivers in the past, but many posts also mention very few cabbies know English and Uber's tend to avoid Santa Fe. Would you recommend trying to find a driver for a beginner?

Many thanks in advance, I'd be more than happy to answer questions about China and Japan for those interested.

Uber in general is not reliable but it does work. Just need to prepare for longer wait time because the driver frequently got stuck or lost, then cancel the trip.

The street is named using number in a way that it is not difficult to communicate with taxi dive even if you don't know Spanish. You can find a few posts about it.

The reason for them canceling is because of the one way street system in Bogota. It has been discussed here before. A car may be right near you, but it may take him 10 minutes to get to you because of the way the streets are set up. L.

OK so 2 weeks ago went to Lido on a Monday night. I was only guy there I counted 90 girls a couple of real beauties. Lot more flacas than I remembered from 2 years ago. For the first 20 minutes they just stood around my couch the less hot ones trying their English. 50 k for a corona. I had 2 then finally called over the one I liked most she had blonde hair slim body no operations braces supposedly in her 6th semester of medicine working here for tuition. She wanted 800 k plus salida for the whole night until 5 am it was already 2 am. I said that was a lot she said OK 700 k for in lido shell cover the room fee. I said I was thinking more like 200 k one of these afternoons in a motel. She got up and left. Its possible a Colombian could pull it off but now way is she letting a chichipato gringo get away with a discount. Girls there have exact same bodies as Santa Fe its just that their dressed nicer more elegant.

Then last week I went with Montserrat a Cuban big tit big ass girl at mezzanine 8 for 120 k she worked hard all w condom.

When I check google maps, no street looks crazy busy or narrow, there are some cycle paths and the city is relatively flat, I think anyway.Bogota is EXCELLENT for cycling. You may want to avoid rush hours, though.

The last time I took a taxi from the airport I was with two friends coming in from out of town. I wanted to walk the block or so to the traffic circle to get the Uber, and they said screw it, let's just get a taxi that's right here waiting for us.

15 minutes into the trip I noticed the meter was about double it was supposed to be. This despite my warnings to the driver not to try and mess around with us. I told my friends to run in and get their bags the exact moment we got to our destination. Once they had their bags safe, I told that piece of garbage driver (who was trying to charge us 40 k for a 20 k trip) that I knew he was using a "muñeco" (slang for an illegal device used to advance the meter, usually a knee lever), and that I was going to call the police on him right then unless he accepted the 20 k it should have been. He cursed me out but took the 20 and left without any problems.

In any other city in Colombia I've never had a problem like that. In Bogota, unfortunately, it's routine. Take Uber as much as possible, people!

In any other city in Colombia I've never had a problem like that. In Bogota, unfortunately, it's routine. Take Uber as much as possible, people!Sorry for what happened. However, a couple of things I wanted to share in order to temper it:

- taxidrivers have a shitty job, they work 12 hours a day 6 days a week driving in a traffic that I cannot endure more that 2 hours with my own car before I turn mad and this for roughly 1 000 000 a month.

- you might notice at the airport a parking for taxis with hundreds of taxis waiting. Actually, they have to wait 1-2 hours before they finally can pick up a client at airport. Airport overcharge of 5 000 hardly pay this lost time.

- Uber might be convenient sometimes, but I do not agree that they charge 25% of the ride just for their app. Uber is illegal, they don't pay taxes or insurance in Colombia, so it's just sending 25% of your money to an oversea company, not exactly the best way to help Colombian economy to develop.

But you can definitely find Lido quality girls in the clubs in Santa Fe for a fraction of the cost, just less in #'s, but they are there. Lido got more 8 and above girls under the same roof, but they certainly charge you for the convenience and security.

Thanks again for all the advice guys! I'm not having as much luck as I thought finding nice reasonably priced Airbnb places in Chapinero. Who could recommend me a good Apparthotel type place there ? I've only found one so far which looks reasonable and has good reviews (apartamentos Percales) Thanks!

I'm a huge fan of Uber from the airport.

Once they had their bags safe, I told that piece of garbage driver (who was trying to charge us 40 k for a 20 k trip) that I knew he was using a "mueco" (slang for an illegal device used to advance the meter, usually a knee lever), and that I was going to call the police on him right then unless he accepted the 20 k it should have been. He cursed me out but took the 20 and left without any problems.

In any other city in Colombia I've never had a problem like that. In Bogota, unfortunately, it's routine. Take Uber as much as possible, people! Can't you agree a fixed price with the taxi driver before starting the trip ? That's what I often do in such circumstances. How can you tell if they're using devices like a knee lever, can you see it?

Take care.

Tom power. The average online price for chicas in Bogota is around 150 K per hour according to sites like prepagados.com, ranging from as low as 80 k and as high as 250 k. I guess you have to account for some extras too. But 800 K!? That's 220 Euro and is much more than I would pay here in Belgium! Seems there is a crazy range of prices there, from the ridiculously low in Santa Fe, to the total ripoff prices such as at Lido! Don't think I'll be bothering visiting there!

I have never seen a girl from the North that went to work at Santa Fe. I asked many of them and they all said that they wouldn't even consider it because they view Santa Fe as "dirty"(which it is to be fair), dangerous, and too low pay. These Lido Girls aren't desperate for money so they aren't willing to fuck 20 guys a day, everyday and possibly get an STD and / or become pregnant (happens a lot in Colombia if you haven't noticed). Girls from the North consider themselves lets say "finas" (Upper Class) and the majority of the northern club clients are old rich Colombian men and sure, there are times foreigners go to these clubs (I would say half of foreigners that go are Asian expats). It's weird how these girls do discriminate against the girls from the South (Santa Fe etc) because they do have higher standards for their "temporary profession". Think about it, the other guy (Tom Power) offered the Lido girl 200 k to meet some other day and she just got up and left him. A Santa Fe girl would never say no to that LOL Now Santa Fe girl's probably do try out and try to make money in the northern clubs but they don't last as Colombian Clients can see right through them and they view these girls as "ugly" ,"used" and "undesirable" that they certainly aren't going to spend good money on them and I heard some clubs charge theses girls 100 k to just work there for a day so these Santa Fe girls end up losing money and go back to Santa Fe. But the Vice Versa I would say never happens.

Yes they are hotter and considerably different than Sante Fe girls. However totally not worth what they are charging.

I do agree Most of these girls are not working Sante Fe. Maybe it was different before but there is a considerable difference with the looks and class of these girls.

With that said these girls are not worth it unless they would provide PSE service. Which they don't because they sit on their high horse. This is why all 3 times I went there was a complete different group of girls.

Based on numbers alone when you can tell most of these girls do not get a client most nights. The ones that do get picked all the time will not come down on their price.

They are all virgins and they really would never consider doing this, but you're just so handsome that they can't resist, and they are only charging you, because their religion prohibits premarital sex, but allows prostitution.

Whenever guys start talking about "never", "always" and "none", they are feeding you a line of crap. How many guys out there have hit every north club and every Santa Fe club, every night for 15-20 nights straight, keeping track of every girl working in every club on each night? Until someone does that we'll never know how many girls work both ends of the economic scale. It's somewhere between none and all.

I guess it's comforting to believe that the girl charging 600-800 k is from an estrato 5 family and that she only sees 1 or 2 guys a week. The confusing part is when guys think the girls making 50 k a session are doing 20 guys a day. My trusty calculator tells me they're making over 20 million COP / month if that's the case. That's assuming no weekend or holiday work. I'm wondering, where do they all park their BMWs?

I might ad that in Medellin, a number of times I have seen very pretty girls walking and offering in centro just looking to make a quick 80 or 100 mil BEFORE they head to work at La Isla and / or Fase Dos or the like higher end clubs.

They are too pretty in centro, over by the paseo in Botero plaza area, that they look out of place, I could swear they are normal girls just passing through but looking to make some extra spending money.

The one girl I took to a love motel was irresistible and it was before she was to head to La Isla for the night, I was kind enough to warm her up, jajaja.

Just my 2 pesos!

Yeah I had same observation. But generally in any country they are businesses that only serve rich people. I have been in South East Asian countries like Thailand and even there you can find places that charge $300-$400 for a girl. I'm going to stick to the privded maps and Santa Fe or places like Pussy House. Might just visit Lido for a beer. I'm a little nervous that I'm going to visit Santa Fe at night but I'm going to dress down and stick to Calle 15. I'm also planning to buy a dummy iPhone for $20 and happily hand it to anyone who tries to kidnap me. Thankfully I'm not white (I live in California but I'm middle eastern). I think Bogota is the only place that I'm happy that I don't have blonde hair / blue eyes and even preferred to look more like Bin Laden. Nobody going to kidnap someone with that face. By the way when are you planning to visit? I'm thinking of March 7th-17th.

I will repeat.

There is no difference between a girl in Santa Fe and in Lido. Same body. Different clothes nothing more. If you want a hardened hooker with nicer clothes a little more polish IE. English and a more believable back story of why she's in a prostibulo then clip joints in the north of Bogota like lidos are the place to go. But the same exact girls are waiting in the bars of Santa Fe. They are wearing less fashionable clothes (jeans etc) but exact same bodies even girls with fake boobs and rear are there. Its just that they are more focused on 70 k for 15 minutes than the northern girls who score a big hit 500 k every few days.

OK don't get mad.

Were all in this together.

Tom Power.

http://flirtbogota.co/flirt/Yes I went there once as a wingman insited on visiting it. It's basocally the most expensive place of Bogota. Great mansion with lounge atmosphere. No pole dance, no loud music, no disco light and when we were visiting it no other guests. To answer the questions, there is no pool party , no party and no pool at all. It's not a hotell, its an upscale brothel. Around 10 girls coktail dressed and well maked-up, so you don't feel like being in a brothel. Although they do their best not to look like the typical lhookers and try to fake they are strato 6, I was not impressed by the line-up. As I live in Bogota, girls in my social circle look better. But I can understand that a tourist will not notice it and might have a blow compared to Santa Fe. You take a drink at he bar with the girl you have chosen and can go to one of the rooms. As far as I remember, pricing is 200 000 for the room or 400 000 to take out before midnight, 200 000 after midnight, plus 400 000/30 min 600 000/60 min for the girl. Of course I decliend, but my wingman went for a session. After all, it's maybe not such a bad deal for a tourist, as price schema was fixed, while in Lido a gringo without spanish might end up paying lot more. My wingman reported me that the session was not that GFE. Bottomline, there is no relation between price and quality of service in the mongering world.

The girls in Santa Fe come and go. In a week each one might encounter 1 potential customer who doesn't speak some basic Spanish. She might talk to 30 or more guys who can handle at least the basics in Spanish.

Learning English is hard. If you want to get an idea how hard it is for a Spanish speaker, get one that knows no English to pronounce "heightened."

Most of the girls you'll find in Santa Fe aren't going to take the time and spend the money to learn English, just for the chance at 1 more customer a week.

It's their country, or their temporary country until they return to Venezuela. It's up to the visitors to make the effort to learn their language.

I went to Attraction Spa 3 weeks ago located on Carrera 21 #53-35. There was a blonde Paisa there (19 years old). She had an 8. 5 face and a nice petite body. Session cost me 100 k. I went back there today to repeat but sadly it's now closed. A kid who works at the bakery next door said they moved somewhere else and doesn't know where.

Let me make it clear, I'm not complaining why people in Colombia speak Spanish. Who does that? I'm just saying as I have been to more than 10 non-English speaking countries, I always noticed people who are in sex industry can speak a little English even in Cambodia. Now you might say Colombia is different alright, it might be different, just say that! But you guys attacked me like I've complained about why they don't pay me to fuck them in ass.

Someone here asked about who attacked me, you are right you don't see those posts anymore because seems someone deleted them, they were written by Nyahbinghi83 and someone else.

Thanks ShooBreee for responding to LatinaLover#1.

Not saying I can't argue, but what's the point of arguing with some people that you don't know anything about them. In other forums people encourage you to write here people indirectly tell you to shut up.Most of the people here are quite friendly. I've met quite a few and found just about everyone to be decent guys.

However, most of us are rather blunt. That comes across as harsh, but it's not intended to be an attack. It's intended to be an eye-opener.

When I was 18 and fresh from boot camp, I went to Milwaukee with some friends. Drinking age was still 18 in Wisconsin. We started bar hopping and around 2 am I found myself alone in definitely the wrong part of town for a Wonder bread white, farm boy from the sticks. The bartender brought my beer and said something like "you don't want to stay here. " It was harsh. He wasn't trying to be mean. He was letting me know, I was about to become a victim. I covered about 20 blocks in record time.

If someone seems like they're being mean, it's probably because they see you setting yourself up for trouble.

Hello gents,

How are you finding the exchange rate at the money changer in Bogota airport. The one that says no commission and is just before customs exit?

I'm considering bringing a wad of cash (1 k) with me to change just to limit the times I have to keep going to the ATM because of withdrawal limits.

I'm considering bringing a wad of cash (1 k) with me to change just to limit the times I have to keep going to the ATM because of withdrawal limits.I can't remember what it was last time I was there, but it's not a very good rate. If you're going to be in Bogota and want to exchange a lot of dollars, there's basically a money exchange mall. I believe it's around Calle 129 or somewhere in that area. Probably 25 or 30 exchange places all in one spot.

Make that Calle 127 at Carrera 15. Right across the street from CC Unicentro.

Guys, if anyone is in town now, what's the weather like?

Do I need long sleeve shirts and a jacket?

Oh yes, I never change money at the airport.
There might not be a commission charge, but I am sure the exchange rate will not be good.

I'm considering bringing a wad of cash (1 k) with me to change just to limit the times I have to keep going to the ATM because of withdrawal limits. It means nothing whatsoever that it says 'No Commission'. The commission is in the appalling exchange rate you would get there. I honestly can't believe ANYBODY would change money at an airport, on a ferry etc, it's the same as burning money! Using an ATM is usually the cheapest way to get cash when abroad, aside from the low fees, the exchange rate will be the best available.

Well actually I can, because for some strange reason people still go to them. When I left Peru the other day heading to Colombia I wanted to change some Soles back to USD. The converter on my phone said $231. I figured I would accept $225. I got to the counter and that broad told me $214. No thanks!

Consequently, I need 2 million pesos in cash. The limits at the ATM machines mean I'll have a hard time getting that in one day.

Consequently, using a good exchange is the only way. If the rate is 50 pesos less I can live with it but 200 pesos less is a bit much.

BancoColombia is everywhere. Their limit is 600 k per withdrawal with a 13.2 k fee. Davivienda has no fees and limits it to 320 k. Banco Pichincha allows for 800 k with no fee but they're harder to find. When you use an ATM card you get the best possible conversion rate, which is very close to whatever the interbank rate is at that time.

Why do you also need to pay all 2 million at once? Pay half now and pay half later.

The famous Schwab card is very easy to get started with.

I feel like there are multiple ways to get around your problem. I assume after hearing all this you will stop using the airport exchange, but if you still plan to do that, the only thing I can think of is that you're purposely trying to screw yourself.

The limits at the ATM machines mean I'll have a hard time getting that in one day.The ATM have indeed cash limits, from 300 000 for most, 600 000 for Bancolombia, 780 000 for Servibanca. But in any ATM you can repeat as much as you want till reaching your personal limit of your credit card. You can also go to a Redy office or similar from Bancolombia, and get the exact amount of cash you need in one operation from your credit card. Actually there are a lot of solutions, wiring money and take it cash at the desk of a bank, specific web aplications such as N26, Monzo, Azimo or Transferwire and so on, but the worth is bringing cash dollar and change it in a casa de cambio.

On a similar topic, do pre-paid cash cards exist in Bogota / Colombia, that you can use in most stores / cafes? That you could buy and top up, with no bank account there. I'm asking because I don't like using cash in general, and using my credit card for small things would become exorbitant. I don't even know, are card payments even common there in stores / cafes etc?

BancoColombia is everywhere. Their limit is 600 k per withdrawal with a 13.2 k fee. Bancolombia charges me a fee of 14,520 (like $5 dollars) per transaction. For some reason BBVA bank doesn't charge my card. I'm not sure if there is an agreement between my bank and BBVA. I use credit cards in restaurants but you have to be careful that your credit card company doesn't have fees for being out of the country or converting pesos to USD.

First, no bank in Colombia has a 'private agreement' with any bank in the USA Second, whatever bank ATM you use to take out money, the withdrawal goes through a central system so you could take out some money from one machine in Colombia and some money from another but the daily total is what is counted. All bank ATMs have a daily limit. This was misstated by someone earlier. The limit total withdrawal limit is set by who knows who? But there is a limit. There actually are banks here in Colombia that do not charge a withdrawal fee even though they ask 'want to see what your bank is going to charge you'. Someone mentioned BBVA. And that might be one that does not charge. I am almost sure it does not charge. Me. I like using the Cap360 and Capone credit cards. No charges for anything, by the way, on the other end. Nobody should ever use a money exchange house. Never. Any ATM debit card would be better than that. So it seems by using Capone and BBVA you can transfer money to Colombia totally free. As I do. (I used Bancolombia for a year before I realized I was really getting ripped off. One by the ATM charge and two by a lower conversion rate on the peso).

It has been discussed about using cash vs cards. I have been ripped off twice using my card instead of cash here in Colombia. So. I try to stick to cash except at known places like Exito. When it happens you have to get new cards. A pain. Pura Vida.

I have found that using a CC without foreign transaction fee (I happen to have CapOne as well and use it extensively) is the best deal in Colombia and most other foreign destinations for getting cash. Major bank ATMs in Colombia don't seem to charge fee for withdrawal. I've used several (one called Itau comes to mind) and never paid a penny, and their exchange rates are real market. Not the ripoff bank or forex cash rates.

Any ATM debit card would be better than that. I disagree, there are many American / European banks that rip you off. For instance I used to use my shitty Santander bank. I would have to pay Santander $6 for an international withdrawal fee along with the $5 Colombian bank withdrawal fee and Santander also has some stupid fee "International Cash Withdrawal or Purchase using your Debit Card: 4% of the amount in USA Dollars of any transaction made outside the 50 United States using a Debit Card. *.

So to withdraw $100 dollars I would have to pay the Colombian bank $5 and my Santander bank a total of $10.

Some you. S / Europe banks really screw you over.

At today's rate 600,000 pesos is $192.56. $197.26 has been taken out of my account. So the fee is about $4.20, but as you said, the exchange rate they gave is somewhat close to the interbank exchange. And I do have Schwab, so the $4.20 will be returned at the end of the month.

Then I carry a roll of cash for chicas in my other pocket. I use a card wallet since I almost NEVER have cash on me in north america; I'd maybe have a 5 dollar bill folded in with my cards.

In North America and Europe I carry all three credit cards on me at once (Mastercard, Amex, Visa). Every 2-3 years an unauthorized charge shows up on one of my credit cards, I call to get the charge removed and they issue a new card in the mail 3-5 business days.

At home I sometimes only carry my cellphone and use my phones payment system to pay and tap at machines.

You don't need to take so many precautions in Colombia unless you're doing things like going to centro Medellin where I'd only carry cash on me and ID.

Routard is a great long-standing member here and I respect him, but he couldn't be more wrong on this one. Do NOT bring USD or any other hard currency into Colombia! Colombia is trying to get RID of all the excess foreign currency floating around. Every time I leave Colombia for abroad I actually go to Cambios Vancouver and liquidate everything I can into USD then put it right back into my US account ASAP and I usually make around 10% on my money right there. If you try the operation in reverse you are going to be doing 15% or worse off of market rates.

In one case 2 million was the limit. Now I'm hearing 400 k. If you can find a branch, Banco Pichincha (at least in Medellin) had a 1 million limit, no fee and you could do multiple withdrawals on the san transaction. Just needed to re-enter your PIN. Smaller businesses may be cash only but I rarely interact with them. If you're staying in the northern part of Bogota you almost never need cash.1. Exito qualifies as a supermarket.

2. If you're buying something at Exito, instead of a smaller, neighborhood market, you're automatically paying between 10-40% more whether you use card or cash.

3. Every time you use a card, there's a risk it will be run through a skimmer. Using cash, your risk is limited to the amount of change you have coming.

4. At least some businesses charge more for card transactions. Not only do they have to pay a transaction fee, but they can't hide that transaction from the taxman.

Using a card is a convenience we are all used to. I just prefer to stick with cash when traveling.

What is the best club or bars area where I can pick up a freelancer (if there is such thing in Bogota)? Or maybe the best high end club and try my luck. What do you mean by freelancer? Strictly speaking, all the street girls in Santa Fe are freelancers because they have no obligation to an establishment. Maybe you are looking for part-timers who have something going on in their life other than getting paid for sex. I think that in this day and age, part-timers don't sit in bars hoping to get lucky, they get on with their life while looking for oportunities online.

I prefer to have sex with real girls who have a life and I have had sucess on seeking.com, finding bona-fide full-time students trying to make ends meet. I have gone on a number of pleasant dates with good-looking educated girls, several of which lead easily to hot girl friend sex without time pressure. To me that's worth a lot more than any number of quickies in Santa Fe or half-hours in Chapinero.

I made myself an atractive profile, paid 90 USD to seeking.com two days before my flight to Colombia and started contacting a lot of girls (many contacted me first). During the stopover changing planes to Bogota, I was busy in various texting conversations, so I had a lot of leads when I arrived. Only a few I ended up seeing, but it was worth it. And there's new profiles popping up every day, I have one month to keep making fresh connections. Disclaimer: I speak fluent spanish. (But the odds of finding an english speaker are higher on seeking.com than elsewhere in Colombia.).

Why would you want to go to a "high end club"? The same scotch will be a lot more expensive there than at a normal bar or at a liquor store, and the same girls will be a lot more expensive, too, than elsewhere. If you enjoy paying more money for an exclusive ambience, go ahead, but don't expect better experience with the girls, or better tasting scotch.

If you want to got out in the evening to a place where you can drink, meet girls and fuck them, all with excelent value for money, I would suggest the dancing bars in Chapinero like Las Divas Calle 61 #13-79, or opposite Pussy House Calle 61 #13-64.

.Thanks Arcangel for detailed reply, the info is much appreciated. Ill just hit the bars you suggested and then there is Santa Fe, I forgot about that place.

As far as SA, I have been banned, as it happens quite regularly to people now with the passage of some new laws in 2018 combating online sex stuff (this includes craigslist and backpage even in countries where prostitution is not illegal. Which is most countries in EU). I don't know maybe I can create another profile but I haven't tried. It worked well for me, but then because prostitution is not illegal in UK (it is legal), girls and clients frequently and openly discuss pay per meet scenarios, etc. SA is American company, they will ban you at a mention of anything remotely suggesting P4 P. Damn.

... SA is American company, they will ban you at a mention of anything remotely suggesting P4 P. Damn. That's interesting about getting banned on SA for explicitly discussing a monetary arrangement, I thought that was the main idea of the site, its USP. Me, I've never discussed money on SA, though girls usually bring it up online, saying something like "Que clase de acuerdo buscas? I don't want to commit to anything until meeting in person, I'm playing a long game rather than quick p4 p.

But there are other sites you can go to. Some guys report success on Colombia Cupid. And there's Tinder which has full-time and part-time prepagos on it.

In Medellin there is the facebook scene, but I'm not sure if there is anything like it in Bogota or elsewhere in Colombia.

But if what you said is true how are all these chicks getting away with it? Here in Colombia many chicks' profiles blatantly say sex for money and shit like that. Mr Enternational and Arcangel.

I'd strongly suggest to anyone to avoid using any suggestive words on SA, take it to WhatsApp and discuss in private and offline. They probably have quotas to show they ban members and avoid being shutdown altogether (I can see this happen the way things are going). SA is thinly disguised prostitution network, and in countries like UK you'll have lots of escorts advertising. One day I might use different photos and prepaid credit card, didn't bother with that.

I agree Medellin has great facebook scene and a network of girls all pimping each other, that's just great.

My buddy was just talking about this the other day. For some reason I got kicked off Tinder in November and they would not give me a reason why. Hell I was hardly ever on the site. I kept getting an error message so I decided to google it and saw it meant I got the boot.
Yes. If you discuss money on Tinder, they will shut you down.

Make the initial contact on Tinder, then move the discussion to WhatsApp. You are safe on WhatsApp since your messages are encrypted.
This applies to any country from Colombia to Zambia.

I just prefer to stick with cash when traveling.Yeap. Exito is for rich Colombians and foreigners. Nobody money-minded shops at Exito. They are marked up like crazy to begin with, which proves my point.

Even places like Unilago and the surrounding area, you can use your card there but they will tell you right away they will charge you 5-6% more. Many restaurants have the same policy. Pussy House even accepts cards but they have a 10% surcharge.

Cash is almost always the best bet in Colombia.

Do NOT bring USD or any other hard currency into Colombia! Colombia is trying to get RID of all the excess foreign currency floating around. You're right about them trying to get rid of foreign currency but I have to disagree about not bringing any USD into the country, especially to Bogota. The Venezuelans working in SF / Mileroticos / Photoprepagos seem to prefer USD over COP. You can get some interesting deals done with the Venezuelans working girls by offering USD or a USD+COP combo. Colombianas obviously prefer their own currency.

I'm not sure what it takes to get banned from the site.

Recently I got an amusing message from a 19 yo in Bogota:

Exito is like Walmart, they have a big selection of food, clothes and non-food, all at fair prices. I am money-minded and I shop there. The upmarket supermarket is Carulla, standard supermarkets are Olympica and Ara. At all these places, and at all the upmarket restaurants you can pay by card, and many Colombians do. I'm pretty sure the price remains the same, but I always prefer cash.

Of course, Colombians without money don't shop there, but anybody on a salary will happily go to Exito.

Even places like Unilago and the surrounding area, you can use your card there but they will tell you right away they will charge you 5-6% more. Many restaurants have the same policy. All the restaurants I've been to in Colombia did not charge extra for using credit cards. Supermarkets don't charge extra either. In Colombia, the credit card never leaves your sight. They will bring out a portable chip reader. Many small mom and pop places will try to charge extra for credit cards; I believe most mom and pop eating establishments in Colombia do not accept credit cards.

You might have gotten confused with the 3.5% extra charge if they select US dollar as the currency instead of COP, or the 10% they automatically add for gratuity in upscale restaurants.

If your credit card doesn't charge you the foreign transaction fee or any other bogus fees, and if you are paying off the credit card every month, and if the merchant doesn't charge extra, then the credit card is the best way to use your money (Non cash advance transactions, of course, which should be obvious). Your exchange rate with the credit card is usually slightly better or sometimes the same compared to the non-black market cash exchange rate, everywhere in the world. Plus you have the credit card points which normally gives you back between 1% to 2%.

I went down to Santa Fe tonight about 10 and WOW. What the Venezuelans have done for that place I can not even describe. I thought it was Friday night the way that place was rocking. I walked passed La Piscina (other side of the street though with La Piscina being on my left) and got to the corner and posted up there. What the fuck. I looked to my right and right next to me was a guy with his back to the wall and the police had him surrounded. I was too late to see what had actually happened, but there was another guy with a jacket and backpack on pacing angrily as if maybe the guy had done something to him. And there was a big ass crowd around, looking on from both sides of the street. Even more police came and pulled up on the sidewalk on their motorcycle. How the hell did I just walk right into the middle of this? I am standing there listening but they really were not saying anything. Eventually they just told the guy to get ass away from there and soon the crowd dispersed leaving nothing but the sweet sight of some fine ass Venezuelans.

I stayed in my spot for a while and two drunk guys came over fucking with the women and dapping me up saying how there were some fine ass women out tonight. I ran up in California and saw a couple that I would take but I wanted to explore first, so I just did one round with the waiter following me then I walked out. I posted up on the wall on the other side of California and there was a wall of chicks all lined up at the curb. Traffic was stopping to get a glimpse of them. And there was no way in hell that all of them were at least 18.

Woooo. I saw the chick that I wanted. She was on the far left end wearing jeans and sneakers with a backpack purse. I was still surveying the area and turned to look to the right. When I looked back to the left she had disappeared. Huh? I was sad as a mf. But 2 minutes later she showed back up and I went right over to her. I asked her if she had to go study (because of the backpack). She thought I said something else though and answered that she was from Venezuela. I repeated the question. She then answered that she was there working. I asked her how much she wanted and she said 50. I said what about the room? She said she would take care of it out of the 50. Let's Go!

We walked down to the next block to a room on the opposite side of the street. I gave her the 50 and she handed it to the attendant. I guess they will give her her part later. We went into the room and she was Hot and Ready like a Little Caesar's pizza. She had a small pussy hole, but she put on quite a show. I was a satisfied customer. I asked her if I could take pictures and she said not of her face. I told her I wanted to take pictures of her dressed though. She said okay. We got dressed then there was a knock on the door. I asked her how much time we were supposed to get and she said 15 minutes. I thanked her and left.

I headed up to one of the stores to buy some snacks and drinks for my room. Then I headed into Troya. That shit was empty! I walked straight to the bar and saw a Heineken on the wall, so I asked for one of those. He went and got it and came back about to open it and I asked how much. He said 20. I said fuck that. Give me a Club Colombia instead. It was 8,000. I don't know why I ordered that shit. I don't even drink beer. I took 2 sips and my belly was full. There must have been 5 other guys in there besides me and 7 chicks that I counted. I sat there watching the show and finished the beer. Then I left and walked around and eventually hit another chick before walking back to my hotel about 12:30.

Although I am agnostic, I ended up thanking god for 2 things tonight:

One is poverty and the other is that I am not in it! So that I am able to partake in the fruit that it brings.

I've finally booked my flight to come in a fortnight to Colombia for a month. Think I will stay in a hotel for the first few nights to get my bearings, probably in Chapinero, though the IBIS Museo looks tempting as it's so close to Santa Fe. Who has experience of walking there from the IBIS in the daytime, it's not far but whatever route I check looks dodgy. Can it be done safely?

Looking for Airbnb's in Bogota is seriously frustrating. None I have checked have heating, they have many customer complaints that their places were freezing in the morning / at night. But when I've asked them about a heater they come back with endless crap 'We are in the tropics / we don't use heating in Bogota / I will give you lots of blankets' !? I'm not paying € 400 for a week to freeze my ass off on the equator!!

I'm not paying 400 for a week to freeze my ass off on the equator!!Heating isn't common in Bogota. Electricity is expensive and the people are adapted to the climate. Unless you're going during the rainy season, it's not as bad as it might seem. Because of the altitude, the temperature rises quickly if the sun is shining. If your room has Eastern exposure, by the time you're ready to get out of bed, the room will be toasty. However, if you get 2 or 3 days of solid rain, it's going to suck.

The walk from Ibis to Santa Fe is fine.

I'm not paying 400 for a week to freeze my ass off on the equator!!Based on previous reports, it is futile to look for apartments with heat. You have two options:

(1) You can dress in layers at night i.e. sweat shirt over Thermal T-shirt etc. The downside is you will have to pack extra clothes.
(2) Buy a electric blanket. It is not that bulky. It will be easier to carry if you do not open the new package. You can carry in a shopping bag, as part of your carry-on.

Electric voltage in Colombia is 110 V (same as USA). You may need a power plug adapter if you are coming from another country.
I prefer option # 2. You can use the dial control to make it warmer or cooler depending on the temperature in your room.

Looking forward to reading your trip report. Good Luck!

However, neither place is reasonable walking distance to Santa Fe.

I wouldn't have complained about the no heat at the one place, but it was a particularly cold, wet night, I'd left my jacket at my place in Medellin and I had walked from the airport all the way down to Teusaquillo in a light drizzle (don't ask).

Maybe soon I will come to Bogota, but as for now, I spend most of my time in Medellin. I am tempted to try Bogota, but the weather does nothing to entice me, I am very tropical and hate the cold, even a little drop in the temperatures makes me crazy, but for the right group of chicas I might put on a sweater or two and brave the cold. Something about photos that make me want to see the exact location of where board members say these girls are found. As for now, I will continue to have a ball in Medellin and enjoy the nice weather of Antioquia. Pollo Negro is out!

It was just her, then I would walk down to Santa Fe when she was at work or whatever.

Well I had one chick that I have known for about 10 years come by 2 days ago. She stayed about 30 min. Yesterday I came in with another chick and before they would let her up they made me pay 57K ($18). She stayed about an hour and a half before she had to get back to work. In an airbnb you probably won't have that type of problem. To me what sux about airbnb is the service fee and cleaning fee that they add. I guess you have to pick your poison.

Vanecas are cheaper usually skinner if you like that.

My ATM card always works however sometimes on the weekend ATMs run out of money bedt to load up on pesos fri.

Davivienda at 400 k per withdrawal is still cheaper than other ATMs.

Ubers a lotta trouble taxis have a rate card posted the number you see corresponds to a value on the card pretty straight forward. I wouldn't know if a taxis messing with meter but 30 k is max I've ever paid.

Take asprin altitude gives you a headache first day nothing more.

Bring your own cigars.

Unless you want to buy the Colombian ones which are dipped in glue / ddt yuck.

Any cohibas you see are fake.

Its virtually impossible to get a fair deal with Colombian you have to constantly repeat how much your paying and what you want. Even after she agrees they just think its a free for all all the time.

If I was staying somewhere for 2 weeks for example, I wouldn't enjoy it and my health would suffer if I had to eat out / takaways etc the whole time! It's got nothing to do with bringing in chicas for me. Generally between Carrera 7 and 15 is what I consider to be less scary for the novice visitor. For the particularly nervous types, I'd move that to north of Calle 85.

Of course that doesn't guarantee anything. Whether you stay on Calle 19, or Calle 129 doesn't make a huge difference in your security. It just means one area looks safer to you. And I'm not picking on you for this. I've seen plenty of reviews about very nice hotels, in very nice areas, where some gringo complained about how scary the neighborhood was.

When you go west of Carrera 15, it will look a bit shadier. It's not particularly bad, but it will look that way to you. Same is true south of Carrera 72 (or 85). My personal preference is to stay north, close to Carrera 15. There are plenty of places where you can get a suite, some with a kitchen, for $40-$50 per night. Some even have heat.

I choose to be close to Carrera 15 because I use the Transmilenio. Although it's crowded and bumpy, it's much faster and cheaper than anything else. Why spend $5-$8 for a 45 minute ride, when you can get there in 20 minutes for a Dollar? 2 round trips a day and you're spending the same as getting a cheaper place and taking taxis.

If you're sticking with taxis or Uber, there's an option that doesn't get mentioned much. That's to stay over around the US Embassy in Teusaquillo. There's plenty of budget options for reasonable lodging and you're bypassing much of the worst traffic. Once again, it will probably look scary, but it's not a bad area. It's also near the National University of Colombia. That means lots of cheap food options and plenty of eye candy.

As I said before, how scary an area looks to you, has nothing to do with the dangers in the area. How you look in the area is what matters. Dress appropriately. Decent jeans, a reasonable shirt and a light to midweight jacket will keep you from sticking out too much. No jewelry, no fat wallet in your pocket, no iPhone X in your hand and no looking around like you're starring in a horror film and you just heard a chainsaw. Walk comfortably, not like you're terrified someone's going to come along and ram a giant dildo up your ass.

Know where you're going, even if you have no idea. If you look lost or confused, you look like an easy target. If you're not sure, or if you think someone is paying too much attention to you, stop in a store or restaurant. Buy a bottle of water and take a few minutes to figure out where you are and where you want to go. 99.9% of the people are going about their business and have no interest in your business. The other 0. 1% are looking for an easy target. If you don't look like one, they'll keep looking.

If you are feeling too nervous, use Tappsi or Easy Taxi to call a taxi and have them take you where you want to go.

Another question that may get me shot down in flames! A few pages back a poster said better to stay north of calle 80 in Chapinero. I don't find many reasonably priced places in north Chapinero, however can find many more further south, like central Chapinero, Quinta Camacho, La Porciuncula etc. My question is, which areas heading south from Calle 80 down to the bottom of Chapinero are shady to stay in and should be avoided?Teqandama area is a great place to stay, walking distance to Santa Fe. Also East 19th St area.

Bring your own cigars.

Unless you want to buy the Colombian ones which are dipped in glue / ddt yuck.

Any cohibas you see are fake.

Its virtually impossible to get a fair deal with Colombian you have to constantly repeat how much your paying and what you want. Even after she agrees they just think its a free for all all the time.Actually La Cava Del Puro in Zona Rosa has really Cohibas and other Cuban cigars.

I deal with Colombian all the time for many different things, you are wrong.

Nice work, She is gorgeous.

Any chance for BBBJ or oral natural? If so, how much is avg cost there?

Thanks!

I go to troya because all girls wind up there anyway.

My question is, which areas heading south from Calle 80 down to the bottom of Chapinero are shady to stay in and should be avoided? You know, there are people who say that every area south of Texas is shady and should be avoided.

It depends on YOU which area you feel comfortable in. It also depends on you which climate you feel confortable in. Wear an extra layer of clothes in the evening or on a rainy day in Bogota and sleep under an extra blanket, or go somewhere warmer like Medellin.

My favourite area of Bogota now is Zona G in Chapinero around Cra 5 and Calle 70. Plenty of good restaurants in the area because well to do Colombians live above there. In my room in Hotel Emaus (120 k on booking) I was surprised to see an electric heater, not common in Bogota. The bathtub instead of shower was good, too.

I have received my Sugarbabies in three different hotels in Bogota and reception never even asked to see their ID. I had booked a double room, except one place where I paid 70 k for one person I had to pay 30 k to upgrade to double on days when I had a visitor.

If you are not staying in an American hotel then prepare to bend over and get fucked. How much extra is it for bareback?

Anyway, I never stay at American hotels but I have not yet been offered this service.

By the way, at the FKKs in Germany very few girls are German. Almost all come from the poorest parts of the European Union like Romania.

Don't go south of Chaperino unless you're going to La Candelaria which is the "old city" with lots of museums and other things. Downtown Bogota is also close to La Candelaria if I remember correctly with all the office buildings. It's fine by the day. At night stick to north Bogota.

But Senior Yippie, Bogota is a safe city, you say? Not really. Especially if its your first time. You don't want to get drugged and robbed. There's tons of time during the day to fuck in brothels in Chaperino. For night life try to get a chicas number and go to El Retiro. There is an area there with tons of restaurants, clubs, and casinos.

EDIT: Also make sure you visit the Mezzanine girls. Its in the Bogota map maintained here. It's quiet an experience to fuck in a closet.

After a few days off duty due to feeling a bit under the weather, I've lined up a couple of mature photoprepagos girls in the next few days. Probably not to everyone's tastes, but I'm a fan of all natural amateur type looking women, and these girls have excellent reviews and have been very responsive to whatsapp messages so my expectations are high! Will report back.

I was planning on scoping out Santa Fe, but not sure I'll bother despite not really being fazed by the area after spending a lot of time in Medellin Centro. As it's my last few days in the country I think I'll just order girls to come to me instead.

For me Medellin Centro didn't seem so bad as you always had the relative salvation of the museum and metro station quite close by. The first day I took a taxi at around 1 pm.

But, while I was walking a person was siting in a door way, with big tits hanging out, but then the person pulled open the shirt to show me a big dick.

Be careful!

I walked until I found the right chica.

Nice bareback blow job.

Yesterday I went back around 2 pm.

I found a chica in a bar doorway. We went inside. I paid and went into a bed room.

I did not like the bullshit and put my pants to find my money was taken out of my pants.

We had a fight trying to get my money back. I grabbed for the purse, but she got to it first and sprayed me with pepper spray.

After washing my eyes out I went and complained to the bar people to no avail.

So, I was the one to get Fucked.

I have never heard of something like this happening in Santa Fe. When putting my clothes on the hooks, I always put my pants on the bottom and cover them up with everything else. I also have a drawstring backpack that I can put my things in. Or you can always roll them up and use them as a pillow. Also a good idea to make them undress before you undress and you dress before they dress.

World Travel 69's bad experience definitely needs some more explantion and details!

I'm coming down next week finally. Booked the first few nights at a hotel near Santa Fe, will venture there in the day once I've got my bearings. Then rented a nice looking Airbnb near Parque 93 for another week, hope it's warm enough!

I know these issues have been mentioned before, but I can't seem to find the answers anywhere. Namely, what's the best company to get a local SIM car from? What's a good daytime hotel to take a chica with hourly rates / what area can you find them (central chapinero? And where is the club Mezzanine 8 that a contributor mentioned he had a good time at? I don't find it on Routard's list.

Cheers guys!

By the way, as well as being informative, your post has the added bonus of being hillarious! It's good that I asked, because in terms of good / shady areas, I was just thinking in terms of north and south, I didn't realise it also goes for east / west too. Good to know! What do you mean by 'a good shirt' by the way, I normally wear t-shirts under my jackets. Are Tappsi / Easy Taxi Colombian apps or international? I didn't know about them before.

How about cycling through Santa Fe during the day to check out the chica's, anyone ever done this ? I guess it wouldn't be a good place to leave a bike (even locked), when you're busy having a good time with a chica !

I see there's a bus T13 that runs all the way down Carrera 7 from north Chapinero to the hotel San Francisco beside Santa Fe. I know it's all relative, but is that route / bus 'safe' ?

For any of you guys who know these places, I've hung out in Buenos Aires Microcentro clubs area and Santa Fe day and night, stayed in Paulista in Sao Paulo and walked from there to the downtown clubs at night (ie Big Ben), and walked up and down Avenida Independencia in Santo Domingo at night too, all with no problems. So I was wondering, are you giving me such specific advice on how to stay safe because Bogota is a step up in relative danger from any of those places, or just because I seem nervous and have asked so many questions?

They are in this thread:

http://www.internationalsexguide.nl/forum/showthread.php?2205-Bogota-Lists

Think of Bogota as a long line, North and South. That is why the maps are in three sections.

Trying to bike a 3 block by 3 block area you will not see much. You will be dodging taxis, cars and people.

I went Buenos Aires ten years in a row. Bogota is not anything like it.

There are lots of buses. They changed the lines a few years back. There is a TransMilenio bus map online. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nexura.transmilenio&hl=es_CO

As for sim cards I always have used Movistar. But, I have noticed that there seems to be more Claro companies.

I'm not sure if Tappsi and Easy Taxi work outside of Colombia, but they work in Colombia. There's also an app for the Transmilenio and SITP buses that's quite handy. Helps to figure out which route you need. Just search your app store for Transmilenio and you'll find it.

The bus should not be a problem. You might end up standing, but it's a reasonable ride. The area east of Carrera 7 is a nice area. It's a nice place to walk.

Your other question about the Mezzanine, I'll answer here. It's located on the northwest corner of Carrera 15 and Calle 104. I'll attach a screenshot from street view. There's a short flight of stairs leading up to the 2nd floor. There are several small office suites, on that floor, both sides. My experience was that if you walk by someone will open the door and usher you in. There might be 4 or 5 places there. Each will have a few girls. It's sort of a massage parlor. The rooms are tiny and the tables are very short, but there are usually a few cuties working there.

There's another massage place just down the street, south 1/2 block, west side of the street, just south of Justo & Bueno. If they're still open it's up the short flight of stairs and first door on the right. Some good looking girls in there as well. I'll add a picture for that too.

There are no casas in SantaFe. The girls are independent and they take you to a hotel room where management doesn't care what goes on. If you want a safe casa experience in Bogota, go to Chapinero. It's better value, too, because you get a half hour for less than the quicky (knock on door after 10 mins) in SantaFe.

If a girl doesn't perform or does something stupid in a casa, she's quickly out of a job and has to go stand on the street in SantaFe.

PolloNegro, you're an expert in Veracruz in Medellin, well SantaFe is like that only much bigger.

Me, I've had no sessions in Veracruz and disappointing ones in SantaFe, so I wouldn't recommend these areas, but I accept that for other guys that's their sweet spot.

They charged my account anyway but when that happens, it usually gets reimbursed in 5 minutes. It's been 4 days and still no reimbursement. I went to the Bancolombia bank that the ATM belonged to and they said they can't do anything about it and I have to talk with my bank. I talked to my bank and they said they will look into it and send me a letter with a decision in 14 Business days. I remember this happening to my cousin 2 years ago when he took out $400 usd in pesos Colombianos from another Colombian ATM and he waited too long to grab it and the ATM just ate back the money but still charged him the $400. He talked with his American bank and after a month, his bank only agreed to pay him back $200. Ever since then, my cousin no longer uses ATMS.

1) the north is actually the MOST dangerous part of Bogotá to be hanging out at, ESPECIALLY if you're solo. Thieves in Bogotá go where the money is.

2) it's also the most boring and most expensive.

Honestly, if you want to stay north of 72, it's better to not even come here!

I was at Bancolombia taking out $100 usd and the screen said "we can't process your transaction right now because of technical difficulties". No problem. Ever since then, my cousin no longer uses ATMS.When it comes to money in traveling abroad, estimate, and always bring everything you need with you. Change a little over in the airport, and the rest on the street. When you go out, take only what you need from the stash. I've done it this way for years, and never had to dick around with ATMs or banks.

Ok, so PolloNegro is telling us again that he doesn't understand casas.

Me, I've had no sessions in Veracruz and disappointing ones in SantaFe, so I wouldn't recommend these areas, but I accept that for other guys that's their sweet spot.I absolutely agree about going to Chapinero. It's better all the way around. Better prices, service, and safer. There's so much focus on Santa Fe, but I don't know why anyone bothers.

I guess that is the reason there are no police in Beverly Hills Calif, Forest Hills NY, Fisherman's Wharf in S. F. Best to stay out of every nice place. Parque 93 in Bogota must be avoided then. I can't figure out why there are so many people on Carrera 15 and Carrera 11 walking around at all hours of the night. Guess its better to hide out on skid row. No one would think of looking for a rich gringo there.

Goofy ideas get goofy responses.
