Following my post on Tuesday I ventured off to Santa Fe Wednesday around 6.30pm to check out La Piscina del Dia (same carrera as La Piscina but more to the south across the next calle)

The place was pretty dead with not much of an atmosphere with pounding techno music. There was one chica that caught my eye but unfortunately she didnt catch mine. Overall wasnt that impressed but as it was nearly seven perhaps the place was sinding down with the chicas off to La Piscina de la Noche. In fact after a brief walk round some of the casa on carrera 16 and with none of the women being up to scracth entered into La Piscina.

First impression that it was quite busy for 7pm and found myself a table near the swimming pool are but towards the back wall to catch the vibe. Got quoted ridiculous prices for a bottle of Coroan 25,000COP so settled on the Club Colombia for 8,000COP.

Saw a few cuties, a few hardened pros tambien, didnt quite catch a cutie I was fishing for morena, tall, thin and really pretty. But a morena entered and kept giving me the eye so I asked her to sit down. Name Dani or Diana doesnt really matter does it 23 years old from Cali. Nice body, shape where it counts and none where it doesnt. Anyway was chatting with her for a while would say she was a 7 for face and maybe 8 or 9 for body but with a nice chatty, toucy feely personality which for me can compensate for lower marks than say other chicas who are a 9 in looks but a 4 in other areas.

Shared a Corona (I know funny how the guard goes down - probably more advisable to share a bottle of rum or whisky between other friends and chicas but no big deal) Anway discussed the deal and was hit with 90,000 plus the room 13,000. Tried to haggle her down to 70,000COP but she told me that it was fijo fixed and couldnt change the price. Dont know if this is the case or I had a spread em and bed em look on my face which meant she didnt have to budge on the price. Maybe others can advise on the price thing, althought probably the early evening rate goes down near closing time??

Anyway went upstairs to do the deed, rooms are ok nothing special cold water as the norm in Colombia, the deed itself was technically not the best as there are some chicas who do a great GFE and then its hard to compare others after this. But I have to say she had great smooth silky skin, nice tender hard body which hasnt always been an attraction for me as some of the other posters admit but it was pretty nice and refreshing, and nice and big senos maybe 36b/c. Think Ill look for her friend next time though. Overall pretty impressed with La Piscina and the chicas there, maybe need a GFE experience to really rave about it but those are always not easy to come by. Would be interesting to know what other peoples impressions have been.

Well, Holdenn, maybe my response is a little late for you. I stayed at the Virrey in Bogota. Good location in the Candelaria, clean, even with an in-room caja de seguridad and reasonable. Thanks for your answer Juan. Finally I'm staying at Hotel Ambala, on Carrera 5, It's ok, very clean, 60.000 P, free pickup at the aiport at midnight, the rooms are a bit tiny but overall it's fine. Wouldn't feel confortable taking a girl though.

Went to La Piscina this afternoon. It's my first time in Colombia, and I don't feel confortable going to Santa Fe at night on my own. I liked the place, but had an awful experience with the girl I choosed. Was my fault though, took the first girl that came sitting next to me, and I should have waited to meet other girls before choosing. Her name was Valentina. She had the cutest face, that's what doomed me. She seemed to have great boobs too, I asked her if they were natural and she said yes. Somewhat the conversation was kinda cold, I didn't feel her, so I should have trusted my instincts and leave it at that, but instead I decided to go the room for 1 hour. Price: 140.000 P for the girl and 40.000 P for the room. Somehow I have the feeling this was a gringo price but anyway, I assumed the usual 60k-80k + 10 k price mentionned in the Bogota List was only for a 25 mn session, so I went for it.

Inside the room, that was one true hour of poor and depressing sex. Her boobs were fake, even though she amazingly carried on denying the evidence. No kiss on the mouth. Blow job with condom for like 30 seconds. Various positions with lots of lubricant. By the end I was totally turned off, so finish with a handjob with condom on (!!!).

Well, I'm desappointed by this first Piscina experience, but I think I'm mainly to blame due to lack of experience. My previous experiences were Germany FKK and Rio de Janeiro Termas where things ran more smoothly and I never encoutered such poor services.

Tomorrow I'll try El Castillo and won't make the same mistakes: not choose a girl if she's cold (even if she's a 8) and talk about the services before (FK, BBBJ and so on).

- "La Piscina" is located on the Carrera 14, just at the exit "Calle 22" of the Transmillenio. I think it opens around 2 pm, but apparently there is not much going on during the day. I was there at 3 pm, and there were maybe 5 girls, and I might have been the only client. It closes at 6 am, and from what I gathered chatting with a girl, it gets way much crowded at night.

- "La Piscina del Dia" is located nearby, on the Carrera 15, between calle 22 and 23. There is way much more action during the day. I was there at 3 pm, there were maybe 10 girls, but later on more girs arrived and when I left there were maybe 25 of them. Good ratio of hotties. Mostly colombian clients, sitting there, drinking beers alone or with buddies, watching porn on the big screen or the girls dancing, sometimes on stage. Good atmosphere, very laidback. It closes at 8 pm. Had an excellent session with a young cutie, 100k for 1 hour. And the beverages are not overpriced. I arrived in Bogota by plane, easy transit to hotel Andino Royal on the edge of the Zona T. Very discreet, but helpful. When a 24 yo non-pro came to meet me at the hotel, I forgot to give her my full name or room number, but I am a distinctive gringo and had made friends at the desk and they figured out who she wanted and called me.

Bogota is cold. North Bogota is very clean, organized, modern, with good security. It seemed safe to walk around at night in Zona T or the estrato 6 areas north, but it is only a few blocks west to a sketchier area at Carrerra 15 (aveninda Caracas).

My goal was non-pros, starting with cybercupido contacts. I had many more possibilities than I needed. I didn't have any luck chatting up girls in the Andino Mall or the streets, but I did better with talking to girls in the lower class shops. It could also be that I got better as I got used to Colombia and talking in Spanish all the time.

I tried two pros. A black calena at Penthouse Club in Chapinera (walking distance, see the List). Girls ok, but not gorgeous. 100k for hour. Ok room. 7k for chica drinks. An uninteresting experience.

Then after strking out with non-pro #2 (see below), at 2am I walked down Calle 85 away from the mountains, turned right on Cr 14, a short street that deadends in one block at CL 86 or 86a? If you turn left you come to 3 fancy clubs (casanova, etc.) but at the intersection of CL 86 and cr 14, directly ahead, is a black door with steps going up and touts. No name, no number, but easy to find. Small bar, 10 girls, good music not too loud, good lighting. Girls were much prettier than in chapinera. Chica drinks 27k! I hooked up with the tall, slim, 30 yo bartender in jeans rather than one of the hotter looking 22 yo chicas. All the rooms were occupied, so went to a fancier club to use their room (Lalos Club, Cr 15 and 88-33) by taxi. A great hour. Really gfe. Got her number, but no time to see her yet. 93k to the bar, plus whatever you negotate with the girl. Same 93k bar fine to exit with her, although I think the chica drinks are deducted from the 93k in that case.

Non-pro Girl #1. 24 yo. Costena. Beautiful. Living with her sister in Bogota as the babysitter for her sister's 4 children.brother in law works in dubai. not a family with money worries. 2 dates, lots of fun. Declined invitation to my room. We went to a fun famoous night spot called Andre's Carne de Res in Chia (about 40 minutes outside of the city). Think funky indoor-outdoor club with food, booze, dancing, and 3000 people. Mostly white 30-something well-off colombian groups celebrating birthdays, etc. No blacks, few calena or costena type people. They appear to party hard in Colombia on Fri and Sat night, and also Thu (Fri seems to be a casual limited work day at many businesses). Because Girl 1 was only 24 we didn't have much to talk about after a while. I did manage to dance her off her feet, but my shoes were much more comfortable than her high heels.

Non-pro Girl #2. 30 yo. Costena. Long dark hair, very sexy and pretty. A scientific professional. Well off. Lives further north in a house that her parents bought for her and her brother for working in Bogota. We went dancing in a club in Zona T. Great time. And I learned what they do about purses and valuables in a country where no one trusts anyone else very much. You get a big bag from the waitress, put your stuff in it, they padlock it and give you the key. When you pay your bill, you get it back. I noticed that my date counted the money in her wallet after she took it out of the bag. For our second date she was dress very sexy and was the best looking dancer in the club. Interesting, lively, hard-partying girl. We drank a bottle of Aguardiente, something I do not recommend. Great kisses, but no sex in 2 dates. Will follow up with her.

I got thumbs up from Colombian guys while dancing with both dates.

Non-pro Girl #3. 36 yo (I am quite old by the way). Short, overweight, smart, interesting, fun to be with. After meeting for a coffee, she invited me several other activities. I accepted a visit to her apartment for lunch (soup, rice, avocado, desert). She lives in a middle class neighborhood out toward the airport. Whole family was in and out all the time, include mom, pop, 2 brothers, 3 children, 1 nephew, etc. Walked to the mall with the kids and beat the youngest girl in air hockey but lost to her mom. Eacaped without sex being an issue and without getting engaged.

I told them that I was in Colombia on business, which made it possible to juggle schedules. I should have told them I was in Bogota for 2 weeks+ instead of 5 days and I made the misake of telling Girl 2 that I was planning to go out for karaoke with girl 3. Using Cypbercupido made it obvious that I probably had other dates.

On the way to the airport there was a marathon and many city streets were closed. So I got an involuntary tour of many barrios. I arrived at the airport with 15 minutes to spare and still made my plane.

I like Bogota and plan to go back, but I like the people in Medellin better (next report).

You can go alone to Santfe zone until the 7 or 8 pm. After that hour the zone can be more dangerous, although the police make witnesses in the zone.

For example you can to take a taxi at 4 pm. And you leave in the corner of the Calle 23 Carrera 16A, and walk a few steps to Atunes Club. You find 15 or more chicas, and so many will arrive at this time. The price of the can beer is 2. 5k and the price for a 15 minutes is 40km 50k or 60k, it depends of the chica and your power of to negotiate a less price.

And you can leave the zone before the 7 pm.

If you need go more later, is better to go to Piscina Carrera 15 Calle 23.

The idea is not walk alone the zone, for to go to another places, don't leave alone your drink in the table, and to be alert to any person near to you.

Dont go to this place uless you like ugly girls, went there last week after seeing rodeo9112's list and prices for BBBJ. To all whose who are unsure about going alone to Santa Fe I would advise caution like anywhere but if you have some confidence about yourself and are streetwise and not a nervous person you should be okay. I have been to a few areas now where I was not sure about going before but after some advice on the forum I took the plunge. Basically visiting a red light zone anywhere is not the safest option in the world but if you dont walk about too much and attract too much attention then shouldnt be a problem. I would advise taking a cab there maybe do a tour around in the cab to get a feel for where the places are and if you want to talk to some of the street girls or the girls at the "hotels" motion them over to your cab and talk to them before getting out and entering. Im pretty sure the cabbie shouldnt have a problem with this and if in doubt offer a tip for the trouble maybe 2,000-5,000COP which lets face it is nothing if you are travelling on foreign money. Once you have done the tour get out and maybe visit La Piscina or El Castillo o La Troya or whatever and if you dont like the place then move to the next place but with purpose not wandering alone the street aimlessly. Try not too drink too much in whatever bar so you dont lose the control of the situation either with the chica or become oblivious of your surroundings and safety. Drinking a lot is ok if you are with friends especially colombians and im sure its okay for some folks maybe ex marines but for most people I would say better to stay semi sober. Im still new to the area and have only visited a few places fleetingly but so far have had no problems, probably because i follow the above rules. You all have to make up your own mind, being robbed is a game of chance but you can either increase or decrease the odds. Anyway thats my advice hope its of some use and dont be put off going down there alone. Better still hook up with someone else.

General thoughts on Bogota vs Medellin. Much bigger and harder to get around. People are a little harder to get to know, but once you break the ice I found everyone friendly and charming. The altitude was a problem the first couple of days only. Medellin is much more attractive. I visited central Medellin almost every day, because I liked the crowds and the funky malls and the people were easier to talk to than in Poblado (and I sampled a couple of street girls and visited the strip clubs). But in Bogota, I did not get to Santa Fe red light district at all.

My last 48 hours in Bogota included hardly any sleep, after which I traveled all day back to the United States.

SECOND TO LAST DAY

Arrived back in Bogota from Medellin about noon. Had lunch with a cypercupido woman. Not my type. Lots of dark makeup around her eyes and trashy clothes. She did not fit in with the Zona T trendiness. But we had lunch and a conversation and then I let her go. She told me there was a lot of prostitution in Colombia!

I was staying at the Saint Simon Hotel, which is a good location. Not expensive. Small room. However the rooms facing Calle 84 are noisy from 4 nearby discos until 5am, so if you are a light sleeper I would request a room facing CRA 14 or another direction. I went across the street from my hotel to an open-air market where they were selling clothing. I have been chatting up 4 girls who work there for my entire stay in Colombia. One tall young dark girl, Cindy from the coast, appealed to me a lot. She asked me who the woman was that I had walked by with. I said she was a possible amiga, from the internet, but I didn't like her. I now know that I should have asked Cindy for her cel number on the first meeting. Instead I got it on the last night, when it wasn't of much use to me.

I then had the excellent La Femme massage parlor encounter described in my summary report above, after which I went back to my room and wrote up my thoughts on Colombia that are recorded in that report.

My date for the evening, Non-Pro Girl #1 from my first report, showed up, late, at 9pm. She is 24 and beautiful, claims she is fat, but if so it is very slight. I am old, but fit. We went to dinner at a middle eastern restaurant near P93 (Khaaffi? ), which was delicious. And romantic: we sat alone in the lounge by the fireplace surrounded by oriental cushions etc, instead of at a table in the regular dining area. We returned to my hotel about 1130pm and the desk clerk asked for her ID and filled out a guest form; he said they would put a charge on my bill. We made out in my room, but she fell asleep partway through watching Hidalgo and went home at 1am. No sex. Since she wasn't in my room very long, the desk clerk told me there wouldn't be a charge.

I was in Bogota two times before and both times I went out with Girl 1 and also Girl 2, a 30 year old engineer. Neither had consented to sex after just 2 dates. Girl 2 would have made a good girlfriend, as we had a lot in common and lots to talk about. However, I was just in Colombia to see how I felt about dating latin girls and then decide later what I wanted to do about it. Unless I shed my wife, a real GF would be quite inconvenient. So I decided to pursue Girl 1, the less appropriate, more dependent, younger girl on my 3rd time in Bogota during the trip.

Since I was pretty horny after making out, I went back to the "private club" on 86a at the end of CRA 14 (big blue door, may be locked but there is a bell and usually a tout, no sign or number), reported in my first report. Looking for my GFE encounter there, Juliana. But she wasn't in, so I talked to Vanessa again, a cute girl from Armenia that I talked to the first time and the second time I returned looking for Juliana. There was a drunk guy at the bar who insisted on giving us drinks of Aguardiente, even though I had sworn off the stuff after getting plastered one night. Finally he was right in our faces, saying something crude about Vanessa. The other girls were trying to dance with him, to get him away from us, but he wouldn't move. Finally he started talking about putas in a very derisive way. So I replid, "no es putas, es mujeres" and he said "desculpe" and walked away. My only confrontation in Colombia.

I took Vanessa into one of their rooms, with sofas and a mattress on the floor. Although she was a bit plastered by this time, the sex was very good, with lots of french kissing and BBBJ and daty, after which she just pulled me into her bareback. Perhaps it was my charm, or my sticking up for her at the bar, or her standard procedure. Later I cleaned off thoroughly with Betadine.

I then got a few hours sleep, my last for 2 days.

MY LAST DAY

In the morning I went over to Juan Valdez cafe for a capuccino but didn't find anyone to talk with. I did a little final shopping and called Natalia, the massage girl from the day before and made an appointment to take her to lunch at 1pm. When I got there, she apologized that she had things she had to go do, but she would not feel bad if I had sex with another girl. Would I like her to arrange a conversation with them all. I thought that might be fun, so I sat in their living room while she put on her heavy coat and went out. I then told some of my stories to the girls. They did not seem to have any other customers.

It looked to me like Cindy got 20k for standing in that market until 8pm, but perhaps there were other payments weekly or monthly. I'm sure that Cindy would have loved to go out with me, but I already had a date.

The day shift comes on at 530am, if she could leave before then, it would be okay. SO I left a tip for him and the doorman and we went to my room.

I put on some good music and we had great sex for 90 minutes, then she drifted off to sleep. I believe it ws good for both of us. I never fell asleep as I was reviewing my experiences in Colmbia. At 5am we got up and dressed, then headed downstairs. She was ready to go home, but I had to get up again in 90 minutes anyway for my plane, so I said let's take a walk. She agreed eagerly. We wandered through the empty Zona Rosa for 20 minutes. The 4 discos near my hotel were still open and blasting music. We sat on a bench in the park facing Calle 85 and talked until the sky started to brighten. Then we went to the Carulle supermarket and had coffee and talked some more. Since she didn't have a cellphone, she gave me her email address. At 630am I put my "date" into a taxi and walked back to my hotel to finish packing and go to the airport.

I went to Colombia to experience non-pro girls, after many great experiences wth pros. But I was handicaped by my marriage, that didn't yet allow acquiring a true girlfriend, and by my lack of straightforward social aggressiveness. The girls were more aggressive than I was. I did bed one very sexy and passionate woman in Medellin, but then I discovered that I had to fit into her life and schedule. I couldn't stay over at her house because of the teen girls living there. And she had to work a lot. But it did show me that I could woo and seduce attractive women that were much younger. But my final date was with a pro. This is my first post in Colombia, apologies in advance if not up to standards here.

Went to Santa Fe last night at 9pm, my first time, spent about 4 hours there. A few observations:

1) I went to Santa Fe alone, but with a trusted taxi driver whom I paid to stay with me while I was there. Over 4 hours, including a generous tip I paid him about 120. 000 COP. Very worthwhile for the sense of security it brought me, it being my first time there. If you are in Bogota alone, like me, I would recommend this route if you want to go.

2) It's hopping a nighttime! I don't know what it would be like during the day but at night it had that seedy, squalid atmosphere that I kind of like, garbage on the streets, suspicious characters idling on the streets, some interacting with police, some casting you askance looks. Stray dogs, streetwalkers, the whole bit.

3) Santa Fe is, compared to any RLD I've ever been, very seedy. If I didn't have someone with me I am sure I would've been pestered a lot on the streets. Even the Colombians are not there alone (a few, but very few). I don't think I'd go again unless I had someone with me for sure. Whereas in the clubs in the Norte (Calle 85 y Cra. 15) it's quite alright to go by yourself.

4) The clubs that seemed to be busy, on a Saturday night, were La Piscina, El Castillo, La Casona and Las Vegas. I went to La Piscina and El Castillo.

5) La Piscina is setup like this. There are two rooms, one with a general bar area and another with an indoor pool. When I walked in there were about half the people in one room and half in the other. About 30 chicas. Only a couple interested me, but since it was the first place we went to and I was more on a recon trip to Santa Fe I didn't do much other than observe how the place worked. The minimum around the pool was 30. 000 COP for a bottle of Corona, plus a service charge. Every now and then (30 minutes, hour) there was a strip show on a bridge over the pool.

6) I thought El Castillo, despite its reputation, had worse looking chicas than La Piscina. The interior is setup as a large room (preceded by a small bar area), in the center of which there is a long catwalk (w/ two stripper poles). There are stairs to a second level which only outlines the room, such that you can see what's going on on the first floor (sorry I don't know how to describe this better.) Again, probably about 30 girls, a few were very young looking. I ran into an American from Miami in the bathroom, he swore it was ultra-safe in Santa Fe and that I didn't need to have my driver with me. Friendly guy. Again, very few foreigners in El Castillo. I didn't like the setup in El Castillo, it took a long time to get a sense of what all the girls looked like, since some were upstairs and it was quite hard to see them from the first floor or from across the room.

I chatted up one of the girls, after she realized I wasn't going to 'hacer amor' with her that night. She told me apparently on a good night they get about 6-7 clients (100. 000 COP for 30 minutes) and normal night is 2-3. Thing is, I didn't actually see a lot of clients 'disappearing' with the chicas. Most of the Colombian customers seemed to chat with the girls a bit, buy them a drink, maybe get their number, and leave.

Around 12:30pm, I left El Castillo in search of Atunes but it was actually closed.

So that was my four hours in Santa Fe. I actually preferred it to the clubs in the North (Juan Pablo and Extasis). Can't explain why.

A few questions for the more senior/experienced members -

1) How does my experience compare to that during the daytime?

2) Where are other places that you go?

3) Do you share my view that it just is a better environment in Santa Fe than Extasis, Juan Pablo's, etc.?

4) In some sense I'd feel more comfortable chatting up the girls and seeing if I couldn't actually call them out some night. Is that better done after an on site session or bringing them back to your digs? As I mentioned, a few of these girls were hot. I could definitely imagine wanting to try them out a few times (and not having to go back to the club to see them).

Great series of reports Zing. It reminds me my experience one year ago when I discovered Colombia myself for the very first time. I know how you are feeling, an overflow of experiences that need time to be analyzed. I had the same dilemma, which path to follow: keeping my life as it is with my family and escaping from time to time to the artificial pro scene or changing drastically my life, taking back my freedom and diving in the real world of non pro experiences. It took me one year to decide, and I chose the last option. It is a tough decision, as it’s supposed to be a one way road…well I did it smoothly, I separated from my family based on career reason as I took a new job overseas which allows me to keep an open option to return to my previous life.

What scared me so much to do so? Well the very first reason was simply that I believed I couldn’t seduce women anymore after so many years. God what was I wrong! The Colombianas gave me back my confidence and self estime and I am eternally grateful to all the Colombianas for that. I was afraid that my first experience in Colombia that allowed me to date again a normal girl was simply luck, but it was not. It turned out to be far much easier than what I believed at first after my first trip in Colombia. I realized I could do it over and over again as much as I wanted , and I became real good in dating non pros. It is a kind of scheme theorized in “the Game” but that can be simplified in three steps.

The first step is the attraction during the first encounter. I believed at first that it was important to develop a complex strategy, but it is far much easier than anyone can believe. A girl is attracted to a guy or not, it doesn’t matter how she meets her. The only thing I learned to do is to detect whether a girl is attracted to me or not, this is the only skill I have. I am always alert, and as soon as I see a girl watching me, I give her a great smile. At first I made the mistake to try to make eye contact before, but I realized shy girls then usually avoid eye contact while most usually reply by a smile to a great smile. If she doesn’t smile, I leave her alone, she might have her reasons. If not, I approach which girls feel as natural after having smiled to each other. Then the so called opener, the first sentence that scared me so much at first after decades of shyness. I learned that it simply doesn’t matter what is said at that moment. I usually start in n any kind of language, and after switching in a couple of different language, we both have fun about it and start to speak about each other origin. Sometimes I approach by asking if she is the amiga of Carolina or whatever other girl which usually ends up by comparing each other’s network. What I learned is that girls always wait for the very first step but will do all the rest. Unless they already have a novio, girls simply love to meet people and love to talk. The first step shouldn’t be longer than 10 or 20 minutes.

Just call her and invite her somewhere. If I feel confident enough, I invite her for the evening somewhere, as it might end up in her bed, but I learned to do it much more elegant and invite her to do something during the daytime, having lunch, going to the beach, a park or helping me for shopping or whatever. A girl will feel much more confident to accept to go out with someone she hardly knows during daytime. I learned also that usually when I try to invite a girl for the first time by night, she will try not to come alone and bring some amiga, so daytime is a much better option. This is the phase that you need to build up confidence and learn to know each other. Avoid physical contact, and keep it to the conversation only. The second step lasts usually a couple of hours.

The third step is seduction. After the comfort zone, she feels confident, you can call her back to ask her to go out by night, a bar a disco, a restaurant, whatever and only the two of you. The girl considers this as a date and is now mentally prepared to have sex. It also allows her to prepare the logistics it involves, bringing you to her place or staying the night in your place. A couple of times, I had that the second step in the afternoon ended up the same day in the third step as we simply stayed together. Anyway, during the third step, physical contact starts. Try to touch her briefly, holding her hand, touching her arm during the conversation and check her reaction. If she shows to sign of defending her intimacy, you can move on till you kiss her. Once you have kissed her, it’s your date. Sex is just a matter of time, if it doesn’t come as fast as expected, I sometimes talk about it as mostly it’s a matter of logistics that need to be solved. Remember, most girls have kids waiting at home.

And now the best part of it: it doesn’t work only with Colombianas! This is my latest discovery, I just have had my first date with a girl from Texas. A couple of times when I approached girls that answered me in English, I simply moved away. I then noticed that the girls just stared at me to try to understand what went wrong. I was unfair to them, I dumped them from the very first second I learned they were no Latinas, not even giving them the chance to learn to know each other. I gave it a chance, and in fact it works exactly the same. The only difference is that I was in my comfort zone with Colombianas. Colombianas will never be rude even if they are not interested in a relation.

Colombianas gave me back my confidence with women, and once this confidence is back, you are in a circle of success. In fact I learned that there are far more lonely women than I believed and lonely women are always open to try a relationship. Lonely women are desperate to find men as 90% of men simply dare not to approach women.

Once you are part of the 10%, you discover a world you couldn’t even dream of. I learned new codes, building up friends networks, have a rich social life, using Facebook… Facebook is an amazing tool, the next morning you receive the pictures from your adventures of the previous night at the nightclub, or girls find you back again through Facebook if you have forgotten to ask for her number. Most nightclubs and bars are now on Facebook, which allows to find back easily someone you have met there. After years of double life behind my Routard pseudo on ISG, I had to learn to lose anonymity while hunting. Another main issue I was not prepared to is to stop each times relationships before it becomes too strong and move to the next one. This is simply the most difficult part of dating, as the last thing I'm looking for is again a long term relationship and loosing again my freedom. I said one time on ISG when I was a monger, that I paid not for the sex, but for her to leave the next day. Nothing is more true than that, I still have not learned how to stop a relationship without hurting the girl. This is the most difficult part in dating girls.

The good parts? Meeting real interesting people, the power of giving happiness to women, genuine emotions, passionate sex, incredible wet pussies, amazing quick and multiple female orgasms...

Stayed in Bogota a few times. These two places I strongly recommend. Chica friendly and you couldn't beat the location.

1. If you want to stay somewhere close to Santa Fe I always stay at Hotel Centro Internacional. Located right on the corner of Transmilenio Parada Ave. 39 which is only 3 exits north of Santa Fe. Plus it's close to Javeriana Univ. which is has a ton of pre-pagos. There is a small charge for chicas but very friendly. Sain is the day manager and knows exactly where to go.

2. If you want to stay in the north, I've stayed at this apartment which rents rooms in Santa Barbara. Very private with relaxed management. No extra charge for chicas. Walking distance to La Mansion and right across the street from Bogota Beer Company. Close to Transmilenio and one exit away from One Relax (Prado exit, next to Cali Mio). I too find that stopping relationships is very difficult. I don't like to disappoint people and I found that I could raise incredible expectations in these Colombianas. [In fact, this is probably how I got married 2 times before, by not wanting to disappoint. And it is also why pros are so comfortable.]

I know it would be better to clearly explain why it cannot go any further or any longer, but so far I can never find the words. So I often end up just disappearing. Not a good strategy if I decide to date seriously and develop a circle of new friends and will soon develop a reputation!

Tried this agency last week with the business going down in motel Royal Garden in chapinero.

Diana was priced at the lower end of the market $150,000 for an hour and you cant make out the faces on the web site(for good reason). She was friendly enough and after waiting 45 minutes for her to arrive (the agency will call your motel, apartment or hotel before sending the girl) I was ready to fuck anything. And she was called anything for sure, not that pretty and not worth 150,000. I suppose the more expensive girls are better looking but 250,000 or more is too much for 30 min chat and the same again of sex.

The motel is okay 35,000 and 2,500 a beer. Sex was functional cant say more than that.

Better off however looking in the clubs where you can have a look before emptying the contents of your wallet. The agencys are not like they are in London and from what has been said on the forum most of the others are bait and switch jobs.

I too find that stopping relationships is very difficult. I don't like to disappoint people and I found that I could raise incredible expectations in these Colombianas. [In fact, this is probably how I got married 2 times before, by not wanting to disappoint. And it is also why pros are so comfortable.]

I know it would be better to clearly explain why it cannot go any further or any longer, but so far I can never find the words. So I often end up just disappearing. Not a good strategy if I decide to date seriously and develop a circle of new friends and will soon develop a reputation!

I just returned a Paisa to Colombia last month after bringing her here on a K1 fiancee visa. I do love her and almost got married (again) because I did not want to disappoint. It is so easy to be enticed and to get involved with the regular chicas but in my future travels I will try much harder to stick with the working girls because I do not like to see sweet, honest women getting hurt badly.

To be honest I feel that the "thrill" to me is in the chase. I have spent time in Medellin, Cali, Bogota, CTG & BAQ and no matter where I travel in COL. there is always an abbundance of cute regular chicas. Leaving without explaination is a strategy that works in countries where you will never come back again. The first step is the attraction during the first encounter. I believed at first that it was important to develop a complex strategy, but it is far much easier than anyone can believe. After seeing some of the reports here lately on Atunes etc I popped in on Tuesday to have a look. My first impressions were that is was bigger than I expected and I was surprised to see so many men and women. At first I thought I was in a regular club, but a quick glance at the women 'hovvering around' confirmed that they were not in fact regular girls. I was a bit disapointed at the girls, many were black and while I'm no stranger to a pretty black chick now and again, I like to see a variety especially morenas or triguenas from Cali, Pereira or Medellin. The music was loud and electronic and maybe its a good place to visit in a group at weekends but it wasnt for me going solo. Popped into La Piscina but was dead due to the festivo (holiday weekend) there were next to no chicks of much value. After my second beer in La Piscina I went across the road to the casas and tried looking again for BBBJ (my attempts before I entered La Piscina fell through) Eventually I found a busty blonde who initially said no but then agreed to 20,000 extra. So 52,000 all in including the room for 20 min. Pretty good oral and sex but no GFE and much faking noises and antics.

My main reason for the report is to share some more information about the club Zing went to and another sister club. The club with ther blue(or black) door on calle 86A carrera 14 is not so obvious. I drove past twice but was sitting across from the 3 clubs (Extasis etc) looking to find it. Fortunately the tout or portero asked me what I was looking for and I went up. Unfortunately I was too early at 6.30pm and nobody was there however I was impressed by the quality of the place, real small, modern and stylish (for a prostibulo!!!) and probably more discrete than other places. The drinks however are not cheap 30,000 for a small can of beer - club colombia etc 120,000 half bottle of rum 240,000 full bottle and the whisky is more expensive. Thats 120 dollars! Anyway as it was early the tout took me up to another place called The High Class Inn which is on Carrera 15 Calle 88 2 block away more or less. Impressive place, same prices as before and the first bunch of chicas there were not too impressive. Some okay but some others arrived later after 7pm and also at 8pm. By this time I was already talking to one chica who I did like but didnt take up any offer except her cell number for call her next week. The bar fine is 93,000 or the same again on site they have 4 rooms, also private rooms to talk and drink with girl(s) if you dont want to be in public. The bar manager who is a mid fortys women speaks English and there are a couple of bilingual girls there for gringos who dont speak a word of spanish. But take my advice learn some you will have a better and easier time. Apart from the drinks prices the prices for chicas seem reasonable for the north and for 1 hour. If you go out I think the time restrictions are less and its up to you to negotiate.

Overall quite impressed with these places as they are quite safe and luxurios, also you can clearly see the girls in their tru colour without neon lights or darkness hiding flaws. Beer goggles are the ony visual obstruction.

Would recommend these places to newbies in Bogota.

Further to my previous post on this forum and Zing23s which introduced me t this club, I would like to share some information which might be helpful to other mongers. Hope its not too much for you.

On Friday night after having a few drinks with friends after having a quick look in Gotica to see what the club was like as heard good things (empty, basically) with a combination of beers and too much aguardiente I walked over to calle 86. There as ever, were the touts looking to get everyone in to the chica clubs. Having has a little too much too drink and it being around 2.30am I, against my better wishes, bought some perico, which as everyone knows allows you too keep drinking and whatever else until whatever time.

Entered the club and was amazed to see it so busy and guess what - hardly any men. I suspect that Santa Fe at the weekend is overfilled with men all fighting for the best chicas and it felt great to see 20 pairs of eyes all on me. Having been there only for a short time on Tuesday and not see any girls I was relieved to see that the quality was much better than the High class inn. Whether this is because it was Friday night rather than during the week I dont know but I suspect as with many clubs girls are pretty much freelance and the difference is sometimes the night and not the club.
Anyway off to the toilets to powder my nose, sat down ordered a beer (25,000 pesos ouch!) and was introduced to all the girls. This is a nice touch which you dont get in Santa Fe, you have to look for yourself through the darkness and neon lights and decided who to call over unless you are lucky and they introduce themselves to you. You get a good idea whos hot and whos not.

Anyway couldn’t make up mind straight away and was just enjoying my beer and the slowly changing effect of the perico when one of the girls who was sitting on a sofa but about 6 feet away from me looked round and said Hola. I was surprised at this because there were other chicas more closer to me, some with big tits on show and I hadn’t noticed this other girl. She must have decided to make her move before the others. Anyway she looked nice enough so called her over. Think her name was Paula but don’t really remember. She was quite nice, nice slim body, quite tall, not big tits but ok, nice black hair the way I like it, fair skin but with great eyes. She was from Bogota and told me she only worked there now and again and had a young son. I believe this to be true as she didn’t seem like a hard core puta and this is something to look out for in Colombia. The best encounters are to be had with women who don’t do this too often but just to pay some bills, maybe single mothers etc. And if you can hit it off with them then a GFE is on the cards.

Anyway we hit if off great, real chatty, few more drinks until I guess about 4-4.30am when I pulled the trigger and asked for the room. I had scouted out the possibility of a GFE with DFK and was told no problem. I think it helped that she was attracted to me, GFE are more likely if the women likes you so best to present yourself physically best as you can, make her laugh, be nice to her and don’t treat her as a puta. Buy her a couple of drinks also to loosen her up even if they are a rip off.

We went into one of the rooms (there aren’t many) which had been busy before or something, this was strange as there didn’t appear to be much men but maybe I wasn’t paying much attention to them. Basically they have sofa beds which are folded down so you can get down to business. Paid the bar tab which came in at 220,000 pesos - 93,000 for the room on site and chica (bar fine is same) plus the four drinks around 25,000-30,000 each. A bit steep but quality don’t come cheap and the room was for an hour. In the end the payback was worth the outlay.

What happened next blew me away. Now I have had some great encounters with prepagos either in other countries and one in Bogota before this. Generally the ratio can be 1 GFE to five or up to ten average or poor encounters. The same might be said of my encounters with non pros, I have had some great one night stands or short term relationships with Americans, Australians, finnish, english and other nationalities. But then some crap ones with girls with whom you quickly realise why they were easy to pull. This is life unfortunately.

Anyway we started off kissing and DFK like novios, it was really passionate and we moved on to me kissing her neck, removing her top and then her bra getting access to her breasts. As I moved around and down I could sense her reactions were positive and so my goal was to pleasure her as it felt like a third date with a girl who was into me. I removed her jeans and g string without much resistance, picked her up and dropped her on the bed. I think she was surprised at this but liked it. Don’t be afraid to be manly with women whereaver they are from, even prepagos.

Remember women are all similar when it comes to sex they liked to be dominated by a man. From kissing her whole body especially round the hips region, I moved to the V region. The reason 2 hours has passed and it had been incredible, something which doesn’t happen all the time and even with regular girls although you might get DFK you are not generally going to get BBBJ the first you night you have sex so it was pretty damn good. You can pay 90,000 a pop for 15-20min quickies in La Piscina with good looking girls but maybe not a GFE so you have to get the price in perspective.
Left the club around 6.15-6.30, surprised to see most of the girls still there, few men, not quite sure at what time it closes if it does Sunday morning. Overall quite impressed with the place, maybe a bit pricer than other places but safe, good and different atmosphere (like your own private puta bar) plenty girls to choose from and I suspect other GFEs available. Highly recommended go there if you are in town.

just finishing up a work-week in bogota. i call it a work week, but i neglected to attend a single meeting, so it was really a paid vacation, i suppose. the experience was varied and i attempted to make mental notes of all things for the purpose of this report. unfortunately, i was not able to be here on a friday or saturday night, which would have added more balance. i’ll split my review into two parts: general impressions and specific experiences.

general impression of the city

the city seems like the size of sao paulo north and south, and probably is. the width, of course, is restricted by beautiful mountains that serve to trap the urban sprawl along with the ever-present exhaust smog. the elongated format of the city along with the intelligent grid methodology makes it a breeze to navigate. for the first time, i carried a small compass that helped on several occasions. the tele-milineo is like a train system on wheels, and is extremely easy to decipher. in the short time i was here, i was able to figure out how to take an express bus even when it didn’t stop at my destination, then connect on the same platform to a local bus to complete the trip.

the real local restaurants are awesome. for lunch one day, we sat down to a pre-set meal at an eclectic location in the candeleria area (calle 12 and cr. 5, or so). we were offered two types of soup, salad, chicken or beef, several types of potato, a small dessert, and choice of juices including passion fruit. our total bill was $5. 00us—for both of us!

i found the people busy and friendly, to an extent. my spanish is good enough to communicate, but is tiresome for locals as i have to work extremely hard to understand their end of the conversation and i constantly back myself into a linguistic corner. i would say that the city is fairly safe for the most part. by that, there are few places with gringo visitors, which means there are not opportunistic tourist criminals lying in wait. so, it might be relatively dangerous for the local people, but we don’t draw a premium risk like we do in rio, buenos aires, and santiago. in fact, in my five days, i saw a total of 2 gringos outside of my hotel.

i enjoyed the parks, squares, museums and the architecture, particularly in the candeleria area. the most interesting was the police museum, which was free to enter and included an english-speaking tour guide. if you are wondering how much safer colombia is compared to the escobar era, consider that as many as 3, 000 policemen and policewomen were killed in a single year during the cartel hey-days, then compare that to the last two years when around 100 have been lost. that’s still a high number, but 1/60th of the previous carnage.

from a mongering standpoint, i have mixed feelings. like the many developing economies where there is nearly no middle class, the offerings seem to lack viable mid-priced options. i read every report from the last two years, and 90% from the beginning of the "new" isg. transferred to a word document, the last year occupied 497 screens in "read" mode. i highlighted every reference to a location or provider that i found helpful to my journey. to be honest, the information was more limited than you might think. i know newbies are flamed for not rtff, but you might be surprised how difficult it is to decipher helpful information. i often wish we ran the forum like a large one in brazil: gpguia with a.net on the end. every time a poster reviews a girl, he answers 4 simple questions: positive//neutral/negative overall experience, dfk y/n, bbbj y/n, and anal y/n. then, at one glance you can see the ratios for these answers for an entire establishment, or you can bring up all of the girls for an establishment on one spreadsheet.

anyway, there is no shortage of locations for sex in bogota. there are hundreds of girls on the street in santa fe, hundreds of "massage" or "whiskeria" establishments, and many, many night clubs. the majority of options fall into the first several categories and are on the low end. street girls go from $10, cheap establishments start there also but $15 seems to be the starting point for anything meaningful, and the whiskerias cost around double that including the room. however, all of these places make you feel a little icky. there are few showers for you or for them, the rooms are old, dingy and poorly equipped, and i rarely saw any sheets.

it seems like the prices jump from there. the lower-end places in santa fe cost around $40 plus all of the club bs of buying drinks, exit fees, tips for no apparent reason and the like. the only thing that differentiates these places from the last group is a nicer bar area.

the higher end places described on this forum cost upwards of $100. i went in a place or two like that, but would not consider partaking. similarly, i don’t go to black or madahos in ba, barbarellas in rio, or take the cien girls from the blue marlin in san jose. the difference is, in each of those places, i’ve found viable $50 dollar options that provide everything one would possibly want.

there are two overriding issues: condoms and tips. in fact, that may be my new personal colloquial reference to bogota: land of c’s & t’s. i can tell you that, aside from mexico, have i had more trouble getting an unencumbered bj. i know several posters in this section have reported otherwise, but, at the price point i shopped, a bbbj was elusive. the safe sex education program seems to be extremely strong in colombia, which i suppose is a good thing. still, it just added layers of items to work around.

the second, sometimes related issue, involves incremental tipping or direct charging for each service. this put me in mind of brighton beach, where table teepees described the price in pounds for each service (none of which were particularly inspired, anyway). the idea of paying them extra for daty? crazy, but that happened twice. i mean, i like it, but, in essence, the service is for them, not me. the benefit to me has often been a profound effort in return to make me feel as good as i made them, but the act itself is near philanthropic.

i will say that there is a huge difference between the experience here and mexico. the attempt for tips in mexico is overt and constant, where it comes up as a matter of business imbedded in an otherwise pleasant time in bogota.

the legit social scene is unbelievable. i’ve enjoyed zona rosa and parque 93 immensely, and we heard that chia is a lot of fun, although we ran out of time for that trip. i had three encounters with young, beautiful girls without making a single effort (i should clarify that "encounter" implies talking, dancing, snuggling and trading numbers, nothing more). honestly, i’ve been to many cities in the world, and i can’t think of a better atmosphere than zona rosa.

I met a girl on transmilenio a couple of months ago. What I realized is most single girls live with their parents so getting private time with them is difficult. So all around the city are short-term hotels. Alot are located around Flores and CL 63 off Transmilenio. But I went to an area in Restrepo off the Fucha exit on Transmilenio and I was totally impressed. ThanksThe Plaza's on the north side of 100, just off the autopista. Its a long way from St Fe -- thank God -- and not so far from ZR. The traffic's a pig: Av 68 (?) feeds into 100 making it solid at rush hours, and impossible to cross. I try and avoid anything further north than 100 for exactly that reason.

Apart from that its an ok place when I stayed there. Nothing fantastic, but not skanky either. Dunno about cf, sorry.

That's as may be, but it's a danger ANYWHERE in Colombia and many other places in South America. Most of the other nightclub areas are actually less safe than Galerias. It's considered the safest entertainment zone in the city, the municipal government has even given the clubs permission to keep their own hours instead of closing at 3am beacuse of the LOW incidence of crime.

1. Go to mezanine 106. It is in cra 15 with 106, second floor, go to place number 6. Not first see diferents locals.

2. Look "El Timepo" newspapers and find massage. Made cra 15 way, diferents places.

In places like Lancaster (93), casanova (85), Juan Pablo (93) the fees are very expensive. It s the same price beer, red bull or whysky. If you want to a girl, you paid house fee, about 100.000 pesos.

When you go those pleces the better way if you aks for the phone to girls.

It's a clip joint, as are Casanova, Extasis and Copacabana on cll 86 and cra 15, and El Cerdo on Cll 80 or 82. If anyone mentions them, run away from them immediately. The drink tab is 3x any normal disco in Bogota. And on top of that, the salida is like 70.000-100.000COP, plus the girls are 150.000-300.000COP. And the talent is alright, but nowhere close to spectacular. Maybe 3-5 out of 30 girls, several doables, and the rest are just filler.

I've done okay in Lancaster and Casanova. Here's how you do it. Don't pay a cover. Don't let them pressure you into buying a drink or any girls. Chill out for a sec and check out the scene. Knowing what each drink costs, it's up to you if you decide to order one, and that includes bottled water. Either way, exchange cell numbers with the chicks and have a plan to meet her somewhere outside the club when she can. For the cll 86 clubs, Carulla on 85 is perfect. For Lancaster, around the corner on cra 15. Either way, negotiate price, time period, and what you want before you leave the club. A lot of these girls don't do well financially in these clubs and will do whatever it takes to meet that date.

I actually ended up with a regular hook-up there, after meeting her in Lancaster. She "danced" in Juan Pablo's and came by after a slow night there. Only cost me 120.000 pesos plus a cheap lunch and taxi until the next evening. A lot of fun. Hate that I lost contact with her.

Here a short report.

Its certain that Santa Fe is very dangerous. I went there everyday,because IMO you will not find that quality of women for that price (paid around25k- 35k for 25 minutes). You will see a hundred police man around which is good, but even if you are the wrong side walk you will be robed, as happened the last night to me. Ok. it was IMO kind of a joke: * guy 1 with a gun and they get 6 or 7 k. Best you take a taxi and tell him to stop in front of the place you would like to go.

I was trying the place arround zona T. But as I've seen the prices I would rather stay at hom 25- 40K for a drin 150k – 250 for 1 hour.

I can recomed the parque 97 hotel (it's a bit far from any place, but very good value and girlfriendly- no extra charges.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your valuable reports! This is my second time in Bogota and I just love this town! You can find tons and tons of beautiful, outgoing women all over the place, both pros and non pros...

I'm writing from my room at Hotel El Virrey (Bogota's centro). For 67K I've got complimentary breakfast and unlimited wi-fi access, a nice room and excelent service. Best of all, I'm able to bring visitors to my room at no charge (max. 2 hours daytime / 1 hour nightime) or at a 51K charge for TNL. This may not be the safest or most upscale neighborhood in town, but early last night there were groups of policemen/women at every corner down the street on Carrera 7a. In any case, I wouldn't walk around the place late at night.

Went to Barrio Santa Fe (aka Zona de Tolerancia, Bogota's RDL) early last night, and entered La Piscina de Dia (sister place La Piscina is one block away, but opens only at night). There were about 15 girls, a few 8s-9s, most 6s-7s IMO. A young Paisa girl sat next to me (22 y/o from Antioquia province, 5'6" w/ heels, light skinned, slim but what an ass!!!, dark brown hair and eyes). Paid 80K for half an hour. Had such a nice time!

I asked her out for dinner, since she was on her way out, but she had to go somewhere to make time before her next freelance job. We walked down the street arm in arm 'cause she wanted to make sure I was safe while I took a cab. To my surprise, she then got on my taxi and accepted my invitation. We went to a nice Italian trattoria at Zona Rosa or Zona T (Bogota's restaurant/disco/pub district). Dinner for 2 was great for 60K. We kept talking (I'm a Spanish speaker), holding hands, hugging and kissing each other on the lips. Things were getting steamier, so she said I was gonna leave her "con las ganas" ("so horny"), LOL. You could see she didn't wanna go...

Earlier that evening, I asked how much she would charge me as a freelancer, and she said 200K for 2 hours. Over dinner, she said she would stay TNL with me for the same price. Before we kissed good-bye, I asked her again if she really couldn't stay, but she said tonight was best for TNL. Of course I'm calling her later!

After living here for quite a while now, I am realizing how much people overpay here in Bogota. The average Colombian goes into La Piscina and walks out satisfied without letting go of more than 50k. Keep that in mind when bartering.

As an aside, my band may end up playing regularly at La Piscina, they are thinking of adding live music, so don't forget to tip the band.

We first hit la piscina, the one with the big sign...some decent looking girls, but they wanted to hit us with 30K for a beer. We walked out and headed two blocks down to a club called Paisas...Man was this place rocking. There were plenty of 7s and 8s there and they had some amazing strip shows. The only crap thing was that it was packed.

After some beers we checked out 2 other small places (don't know the name) and then checked out El Castillos. This place is a much bigger building, and has a very secure and more upscale feeling about it. Sadly, the quality of the girls was not that great compared to Paisas, except for this one stunner with an ass to die for. I got a quote of 120K for 30 mins which was quite a rip off and decided against it.

Eitherway, I did not pull the trigger and did not hook up at all last night, but man was I impressed with the quality ad quantity down there in Santa Fe, especially when you compare it to the clubs in the North. Paisas really left a good impression.

I would really like to go down there again with some of the experienced members on this forum, especially since I had to cough out a lot for my taxi driver, who stayed with me for nearly 5 hours.

Back to Bogota after one year (my detailed reports posted in this forum), I spent ALL my nights in Santa Fe.

Your impressions are correct. The only thing I did not like was seeing you to spend so much money for a taxi driver (5h! )

I could not going for mongering with a driver.

I will post a more detailed report, but in summary:

- I explored thoroughly SF at ALL times of the day (since 1pm) and night (till 2. 30am);

- I suggest to avoid expensive places like ones you mentioned (Castillo, Piscina) and you saw why;

- 90% of girls in SF are ugly (especially en la calle), but 1% are gems

- my favourite places are Bar Paisa and Atunes (close to it): cheap, no rip-offs, fair girls;

- current prices for girls en la calle: 20-25k per 20 mins, room available from 5k to 6k (por un rato = a quickie 20m);

- prices for girls in Atunes: 20k+5k

Please note that 20k include all positions, full naked, CBJ, good time and nice chat (chat before, so to be sure the girl is friendly), but only for 20mins (the woman who manages rooms will come to knock).

Note about safety: don't be shy, but be very prudent. I walked alone with no problems at all times all around SF from 1pm to 2. 30am, this Friday and Saturday. Full of police, but if you display money or "gringo face" (I. E. , = money owner) be aware that you will be targeted by all those you don't want to meet.

(Here, I detail better the short info I provided in my last post of 2 days ago.)

Back to Bogota after one year (my detailed reports posted in this forum), I spent all my nights, and some hours at day time, in Santa Fe.

My memory was:
- so-so in El Castillo and La Piscina (not special girls, high prices), and I see this is confirmed in the last post by Ver Van;
- excellent experience in La Whiskeria la 49*, but later posts by other respected members reported the opposite;
- high variance and cheap prices in Santa Fe

Therefore, I decided to spend my time in Santa Fe, hoping to be lucky and spend low. (*) In my posts of 2 years ago, this place was reported as "Lorinai". There was a discussion on the forum about what place this could have been. I realized now that local taxi drivers and girls call it "Forinai", I. E. 49 in Spanglish.
Say Forinai to taxi drivers and you'll go to Chapinero in this club.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

I would say this place is not for the faint-heart, but at the same time I do not feel like a commando venturing there at night.

At day, I explored it thoroughly, up and down, left to right (refer to map). I even went exploring down SF, moving farther from Caracas (I. E. , West). Nice to see something different than usual places for tourists. I drank something in a bar and I wandered around just to see. It is maybe surprising how regular people (families, kids, old people) mix with SWs and TVs in sexy clothes. They ignore each other, apparently used to this sidewalk sharing.

At night, I was more prudent, as obvious. Be cautious, but not paranoid. Think that if you look full of cash you'll be targeted as a free ATM. If you don't look lost, fearful, too well dressed, out of place, blonde :-), you should not attract much attention. If you display money or "gringo face" (i.e. , = money owner) be aware that you will be targeted by all those you don't want to meet. Full of police at all corners, however. I explored most of bars (in and out, if no girls attracted my attention), walking in all streets with some action, and I even walked back to my hotel (10-15 mins distance). My night time was mostly from 0am to 2. 30am.

The streets more South (up the calle 19) have a group of girls and many TVs. The streets more East (up to 23 if I'm not wrong) have girls and bars like Atunes and Paisa).

Explore the 2-3 carreras West of Caracas (14, 15, 16? ).

CLUBS AND BARS

I suggest to avoid expensive places like Castillo and Piscina. My experience on this is old, but I see that Ver Van noticed the same.

Bars, it's a hit and miss. I like Paisa and Atunes. Many girls, varying time by time (girls come and go), loud music, honest prices: 2. 5k or 3k for a beer, same if you offer a drink to a girl. One time, the waiter came with a bottle of "champagne" (LOL! ? ) for me and my girl, but he did not resist much when I sent him away. Girls charge 20k for 20mins. Rooms for 5k (include condom, but I bring mine, more confortable).

Any tips on the getting to the city from the airport. What should one expect in cab fare, how long of a ride, what to watch for, etc.?Take a cab, paying in advance at the official taxi stand. This way, you pay the official amount and you cannot have surprises. This amount will be higher than what you will pay on your return to get back to the airport, taking a taxi from the street or from the hotel (this taxi will use the meter).

The ride will be longer or shorter, depending on your destination. Bogota is a big city. Maybe 20 mins-30mins, with no traffic jams, from airport to the centre (say, Santa Fe or Museo del Oro), at least double to go to the North (Cl 100). I dont remember the exact amount, but maybe 15k-20k?

Although one can never be sure of anything, I never had any problem with a taxi driver in Bogota. They use a meter and they usually dont cheat with the fare. (note that the meter does not display the amount in $, but a number that must be converted to $ using a table that you dont see, grrrr...! you must trust it)

Your best bet for black chicks is in Santa Fe as there are an abundance of them. Further to reviews on this forum I found this place which is correct to the street adress carrera 15 calle 104 located on the corner. Left side going north, but seems strange being like a shopping centre. A shopping centre for pussy I suppose! Been in BOG one night on my way to baq.

After a scroll down the list found here, I hired a taxi driver to take to Chicas Milenio I first visited that place because it was not far away my hotel with other options if not satisfied of it.

I spent a few days in Bogota last month, and instead of a "normal" hotel, decided to go stay at the Hotel VIP, which has been mentioned here in the past. What a great decision. Had an awesome time. Any thoughts as to which combo would be best? Cali is the only city I haven't been to of the above choices. I am thinking Panama may be a little overpriced though.

Visited Santa Fe and Chapinero hobby areas on a holiday. Many clubs were closed but managed to find some fun.

Started in Santa Fe in the late afternoon hoping to find La Piscina del dia open, however it was closed for the festivo. Walking around there were various girls hanging on corners ranging from scary to doable. The area was a bit dicey but not as bad as some RLDs. Well day two was a bit disappointing.

Today La Piscina was open but at 9pm not much going on there. Troya was much better, but I noticed many of the same girls from La Casona the previous night were trawling in Troya tonight. Well this part was exciting in a way that I had not anticipated.

I went back to Santa Fe after refilling at the ATM at Hotel Tequendama, which btw is the closest ATM to Santa Fe. Walked back to Santa Fe around 1am. Checked La Piscina, girls ok otherwise pretty dead (why do they have a pool anyway? ) Checked Atun also pretty dead, so it seemed like only Troya and La Casona had any type of crowd going. He tried to pull his arm away and unfortunately he was wearing one of those beaded elastic bracelets, so I couldn't grip his wrist and instead came away with his crappy bracelet in my hand. At this point, the guy was scared and took off, I threw the shit bracelet at him in anger.

At this point, having no cash I started walking back to the hotel, but to make matters worse, after a few blocks I spotted another pair of hoods trailing me from a couple blocks away. One on each side of the street. Now knowing the signs, I stopped a cabbie and told him I didn't have money but would pay him when we got to my hotel. They cabbie also said those guys were going to rob me, and told me to get in. Away we went and at the hotel, the driver (nice guy from Pereira) let me out and told me not to worry about paying. Great guy.

So I guess my advice is, unless you really know what you're doing (a la Tunguhuarunga) don't get caught walking around Santa Fe late at night. Take a cab and stay to popular areas. It's not worth the possible excitement.

after the little incident of the previous night, decided i had to get back on the horse and ride. so during the daytime went back to the chapinero area riding the transmilenio. the only hard part about the transmilenio, since it mostly just runs north and south, is figuring out which bus stops at the station you want and which part of the station that bus will stop at. those of you who have ridden the transmilenio know what i am talking about.

I spent 2 days in Bogota. I could not wait to go to explore something of my favourite places in Santa Fe, plus I wanted to go to have a look at Chapinero streets. The same night, after a good dinner at Parque 93, I go back to Santafe. What the heck! I was waiting so long to be back in Bogota, now that I am here I go back at the hotel to sleep just because two teens wanted to rob me?

Unfortunately, when I go back to SF I see that most clubs are closed! Streets are desert!

What a pity. I have a cpl of beers at Atunes (Paisas is closed due to holidays). I decide to NOT go walking around streets looking for girls, as I planned to do initially. They are REALLY desert now. I was still sensitive due to my bad adventure of few hours before, maybe.

Therefore, I decide to take a taxi to go around.

Well, I can't give you all details, but this driver is really a good one! Colombian joins the DR at the top of my list in terms in play destinations that I have visited. We have also been to various destinations in Mexico and Buenos Aires. I found the Spanish in Bogota much easier to understand that the ebonic Spanish of the DR & Puerto Rico and the Castellaño of BA. The only exceptions were the Costeños and the Paisas to some extent. Colombia, as a country has always held a certain allure for me. When I was a kid in the 80s, I was intrigued by media image (billionaire drug lords, police shoot outs and of course beautiful women). It seems to me like La 49 and La Piscina have a total sliding scale for price, if you are rich and/or a foreigner they really try and take it out of you. Locals almost NEVER pay more than 50k a pop here.

Safety Notes. Recent posts regarding a spike in petty crime should have all mongers extra cautious about walking through districts Santa Fe and Chapinero at night.

I toured Bogota in July 2008. Since then, as with the rest of the world, the Colombian economy is cooling. This will translate into weakening employment numbers in Bogota and elsewhere in the country. Which means more punks with no work lounging the streets looking for potential cash-fat targets (or simply anything that moves).

If you look foreign or your street-smarts / travel experience is minimal I, as well as other ISG members, recommend taking taxis between establishments and districts. In cities like Bogota my rule of thumb for taxis is to wait for and select the oldest driver I can find. Think twice about young-punk drivers.

If soloing is hardwired into your being, however, still do not walk Carrera 14 (also known as Caracas) at night. It is very poorly lit. If you must walk Carrera 14 (Caracas) then at the very least walk the median (road divider), not the sidewalks. This applies to both Santa Fe and Chapinero.

Getting off the TransMilenio at night at Calle 22 in Santa Fe is no problem. On the map for walking at night I have added the route out of Santa Fe. From a previous post I write: "I walked out of district Santa Fe via Carrera 15 to Calle 19. Carrera 15 is better lit than Carrera 14 (Caracas). " But even the last couple blocks of this route are iffy. To minimize risk walk the road, not the sidewalk, of Carrera 15. On Calle 19 walk the median (road divider), not the sidewalks. The intersection of Calle 19 and Carrera 14 (Caracas) has better lighting, more people around.

The Chapinero district is also very poorly lit at night, the clubs spread out over many blocks. If you are intent on walking it then pay attention at all times. Again, walk the medians and roads, not the sidewalks. Leave yourself lots of room to scan the terrain around you and plan a route up the street accordingly, avoiding other late-night pedestrians. Every ten to fifteen paces, especially after passing a pedestrian (s), always do (subtle) shoulder-checks.

Don't be passive or moderate with safety, be aggressive about it. The punks of Bogota are battle-hardened, they are not going to give you any breaks; return the favor. If no medians (road dividers) exist then at least walk on the outside of other pedestrians, or cross the street (jaywalk) to avoid close-contact passing. Whatever variant you chose to employ to master the terrain the key is to keep as much distance between you and others, to give yourself open space to maneuver.

In the immortal words of Han Solo: "Keep your distance, Chewie, but don't look like you're trying to keeping your distance. " If others cannot get close to you on the street without being obvious about their intentions then you have an 'early warning' system in place. Without close proximity to your person the chance of being assaulted by others is greatly reduced.

Your first line of defence is your brain. Use it. Second, experience (examples including but not limited to: dress down, blend in, no bags, no flashy colors, use medians or roads not sidewalks, always shoulder-check). Third, being trained in methods of self-defence (I. E. , fighting). Fourth, being able to run full-out for an extended distance. Fifth, pure luck.- but I find luck is largely "the residue of design. " 1-2-4-5 are my saving graces. Take an inventory of yours. If you are trying to convince yourself of street-worthiness in higher-risk areas of a large Colombian city then it is obvious.- use taxis.

Save your intimacy for the chicas in the casas and clubs, not the chicos on the street.

These things noted, all I have left to say is: monger on!

i stayed a few days in bogotá recently. as i was staying fairly close (10 mins walk) to the street action in santa fe, i concentrated my efforts there. anytime i am in bogotá (usually at this time of year) it always seems to rain. so one of the best pieces of advice i can give to anybody planning a visit, is to take an umbrella. it was a pleasant dry day as i approached my destination, however as i began my tour of inspection the heavens opened.

I guess that, if a Colombian wants to change USD or EUR, it may be a pain in the a**ss even more. I also think about problems with tax offices, for example.

I take money from ATMs with my Maestro card. Contrary to credit cards (4% fee for advancing money + 1.5% fee added to the official exchange rate), they seem to apply the official exchange rate (I am not sure, but when I checked I did not see any +1% charged on the rate) and 2 or 3 EUR of fixed fee. However, in this case the money is subtracted instantaneously from your bank account.

Bogota Sucks!

My trip started out dubious in that having arrived at the check-in desk an hour before my flight departed the Delta rep was saying that she couldn't let me on because my flight had boarded already. Ie do you have an ATT rate, they can be 30-40% off normal pricing. The room is/was ok.

Bp with all due respect, I think many are getting hung up on details I gave. An iphone no one sees. Its in my inside jacket pocket which I'm now sure they mistook for a wallet as the size and feel is the same, my jacket being not a suit jacket but a work jacket much like you see carpenters wearing. The staff there will look after you although they can be a bit annoying in terms of trying to sell you stuff, I gave one guy there by the name of Wilson a 10 or 20K COP tip for smoothing things out for me and answering all my annoying questions, plus 5K for the guy who unlocked a nearby ATM for me. Yes, I took out hooker money from an ATM at 3 AM accompanied by 2 colombian guys I had just met in Chapinero and nothing bad happened!
