Reading the report about chica fees I remember having faced similar situations quite a few times.
In general hotel staff do not hazzle customers when bringing in a girl. During daytime she just registers at the reception and no additional fee should be paid. At night in good hotels where security is high, which is recommendable of course, registration should be required, too. In smaller hotels, especially if the staff knows you well, the night guards could let the girl in when you accompany her, generally without asking questions.
Guys, everybody knows, what is going on and that especially foreigners tend to have a bunch of girlfriends over there. I am in mid 30s and used to stay in Suitesreal and have never had a problem there. Just be a good and friendly guest, good Spanish helps, tip the security guys and all will be fine, even if you come home with changing temporary girlfriends.
Back to chica fees in upperclass hotels and apartment suites: You are the guest, you pay the room and I for ex. have never paid any additional chica fee for an overnight guest. As soon as they try to put it on my invoice the manager gets an immediate appointment with me. One thing helps: I always make reservations for 2 persons, even if I check in alone. So even the breakfast is already paid for 2 persons. No chance of covering any additional fee then.
And again: Fluent Spanish and a friendly chat with the security guys helps a lot, so that they know you well and can expect a tip.

No chance of covering any additional fee then.As opposed to for example Mexico, hotels in Colombia charge extra for two persons with one bed. In Mexico the room rate is the same for 1 or two persons if they share a bed. So at least in part the chica fee is actually an extra person fee.

There is a Terminal Del Sur at the southwest end of the city, but it's only for buses that go that way, and all buses that go there ALSO go to the main terminal. This is all OT BTW.
Prelude
After visiting CTG in April and having the itch again, I decided to try out another city in Colombia. Bogota was always a place I wanted to visit from a tourist standpoint and after reading on the forum that there were beautiful women and a good mongering scene, off I went. Many thanks to World Travelers Bogota list, which was extremely helpful in exploring the scene.
Travel Logistics
I flew Delta directly to BOG. The trip took around 4.5 hrs and was uneventful. Upon arriving to the BOG airport, the immigration line was long, but moved pretty quickly. Immigration was straight forward and easy as was getting through customs after collecting my luggage.
I had arranged for a Colombian English speaking guide/driver to meet me at the airport. His name is William Serna (wllsernaataol.com) and was recommended by others. I decided to use his services because this was my first trip to BOG and although I corresponded with others from the forum on meeting up in BOG, I didn’t know how that would go. So, I felt that having someone show me around at least on the first night was worth it. I would strongly recommend William for anyone visiting BOG alone with limited Spanish skills. He is a decent guy and his prices are fair—negotiate what you want and how much before your arrival. My only disappointment with William was that for some reason he was reluctant to take me to the Santa Fe area because "it was too dangerous" and although there is truth to that statement, it was the main reason I wanted a guide. I used William’s services only the first night.
Travel around BOG was inexpensive and easy with taxis. The taxis have meters and the number on the meter will correspond to an amount that is shown on a large laminated card (usually behind the front passenger seat). This is the amount you pay, but I understand that there are additional charges such as at night (after 7pm), to/from the airport, and holidays. To catch a taxi from the airport to anywhere, the best way is to get the official rate is at the "official taxi stand". This can be found on the main level (the departure level) far right after exiting the airport. Taxi to the airport from the Zona Rosa area ran about 15 mil pesos; taxi from Zona Rosa to Santa Fe (at night) ran about 9-11 mil pesos.
Finding addresses was very confusing in BOG. There are no street signs, but buildings would have numbers and it was difficult to figure out if the first number was a "calle" or a "carrera". Even the taxi drivers couldn’t find some of the addresses very easily. On the first couple of nights, I spent 20 minutes circling around my apartment in a taxi, trying to actually find the apartment building even though I gave the taxi driver the address. Good luck getting around.
Lodging
I arranged to stay in a 1 bedroom apartment (Apartment Parasia #301) through Bogotacasa (https://www.bogotacasa.com/Short_Term_Rentals1.html#shorttermeng1top). It ran me 395000 pesos for 4 nights. I was very happy with this apartment and especially the location. Although really the size of a studio with sliding doors to separate the bedroom, it was walking distance to Parque 93 and was also walking distance (1 block) to Juan Pablo’s (see below). It was in a quiet, safe area with walking distance to an internet café and various restaurants. It had hot water, internet access (although for some bizarre reason, it would block me from getting on the forum), but the safe wasn’t working. It was booked through "Trevor" (English speaking) with a deposit using Paypal and the rest due upon arrival. The apartment is chica friendly and I would recommend it to anyone.
I did stay 1 night in a Santa Fe hotel. It was called El Duque (www.hotelelduqueci.com). The rate was 60 mil peso for 1 night. The room had double beds and was somewhat small. No safe, but the hotel room was very secure with cameras and double locks. No "hot" water, but there was "lukewarm" water. Wifi internet was available only during normal business hours. Nice restaurant next door and very easy to get to where the action is.
Currency Exchange
The Colombian currency is the peso and in relation to the dollar, $1 was about 2200 pesos at the time I was going. This was much higher than last year about this time, but not the highest in the past 52 weeks (it got up to 2600). 1 mil is 1000 pesos. On reading the posts and advice from experienced mongers before my trip to CTG, I started a Capital One account because there were no fees associated with international ATM withdrawals and the exchange was the going exchange rate at the time. However, I found that the Capital One ATM would only work at the Citibank ATMs, but there were plenty more Citibank ATMs in BOG than there were in CTG. So, access to pesos was not an issue and I was getting the going rate without any additional fees.
My Rating Scale
I am attracted to the "girl next door" look with a nice ass and stomach and all natural (no silicone). So, my rating scale is based on this.
10’s: there are no "10s" on my rating scale (when I’m sober). 9’s: These are the "hot" chicks like you see on Victoria Secret’s and on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. You easily notice them out from across the room. 8’s: These are the "pretty" girls (minimal makeup) with nice bodies (all natural) including nice ass and breasts. You notice them when they walk by. 7’s: These are "attractive" girls (maybe a little bit more makeup) with a nice ass, but maybe lacking in breasts. I am an ass man, so a girl could be attractive, have a great ass, but very small breasts and still be a "7" on my scale. I am very generous with my "7" rating. These are the girls that are attractive when you start talking to them. You notice they may either have nice eyes, a nice smile, full lips, pretty hair etc. 6’s: These are the "not ugly" girls with a nice ass with or without nice breasts. These girls are doable (without alcohol) and I would have nothing to be ashamed about if anybody found out. 5’s or lower: I would never do sober, I would hope that no one ever found out and most likely I would just want a BJ.

Parque 93- Juan Pablo was only a block away from my apartment; no entrance fee; only went 1 night and had several "7s" (but not higher IMO).

Zona Rosa- These strip clubs are geared toward tourists, all are clip joints with entrance fees and expensive drinks and fees to take out girls. Was being quoted 200 mil pesos, but did not partake. The last one is an "after-hours" place that the girls go to when the other places close around 3am and around the corner and walking distance. The quality in these venues wasn’t significantly better than Santa Fe.

Chapeniero- 20 mil pesos for 20 minutes; 30 mil pesos for 30 minutes; 50 mil pesos for 60 minutes; you can sit a drink before taking a girl or leaving; some have porn playing. I walked in and out of several, but the two named below had the best quality with a few "7s". The last one is an "after hours" place openign around 3am.

Santa Fe- This is the area where the quality wasn’t much worse than those in Zona Rosa; even some of the street girls were somewhat attractive, although none were really "GFE" type, but rather cheap sex. Atunes is a good day time option with 50 mil pesos for 30 minutes. The others had prices that varied including a fine for take out. You have to keep your eyes open in this area. You will be sized up at every corner and there are shady characters lurking around. I was pick pocketed (my fault) and a friend of mine had knife pulled out by two girls he was thinking of taking back to his apartment. Be aware and be smart in Santa Fe.

Other Activities
I went to Andino mall and spent an afternoon people watching. Again, I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of "regular" women in the mall. Very average looking women on the day that I went.
Miscellaneous
The weather in BOG is somewhat "cool", although I found it to be comfortable. I wore a long sleeve shirt and t-shirt underneath and was very comfortable, although many of locals wore jackets or sweaters at night. The high altitude of BOG can get you winded very easily when walking around so be prepared. There are many transvestites around BOG and it takes a very keen eye to pick them out because they have all the curves of women and with makeup, some are very difficult to tell apart from women.
Summary
I was disappointed in the quality of women on my trip to BOG. I thought that the quality in CTG in April when I went was significantly much better. There were others who had a very good time in BOG, but for me, I won’t plan a return trip anytime soon. Other posters have indicated that the looks quality between the Zona Rosa girls and the Santa Fe girls weren’t too different, and I have to agree with that. However, the Santa Fe girls looked like they had higher mileage and less likely to give GFE, although this may just be my experience on this trip.

William is not for everyone. If you're experienced and know Spanish, you can get along just as well and cheaper without him.
But if you have limited Spanish or haven't been to BOG, it is nice to have someone waiting at the airport, to find you an apt, to hook you up, or to take you places. He has a nice full size van and charges taxi prices if you were to pay per hour. Also, it's flat out nice to have a friend in BOG. On my last trip, I had to Western Union money to myself because I lost my cards...William came in handy then.
Also, I'm doing my best to convince William that Santa Fe isn't so bad. Though Bijou's report about the pickpocketing and knives doesn't help!
I have to agree with SmokersRule. William is an option, but not for everyone. For those who are in BOG alone and don't speak spanish (and don't mind paying for a guide to get feel for BOG), William is an option. He is a decent guy and I have no regrets using him, but after the first night (and with a couple of others guys to hang out with on the remaining nights), I didn't feel like I needed his services anymore. However, he is an option for first time visitors to BOG.
I am interested in staying close to the Santa Fe action at least one night.
According to the hotel's website the sencilla rate is 110, 000 yet you say you paid 60, 000. Did you negotiate a lower rate?

Like most things in COL, you can negotiate a better rate than what is advertised on the website (might even say that someone referred you and said it was 60 mil).

Santa fe is ok but it is just to far from the nice spots in the north and traffic sucks in Bogota.
You can get absolute 10s from Atunes in Santa Fe for the meager sum of 50K or 50mil pesos. This is of course for a 15-20 min romp on site, but, in my opinion, well worth it for the sport fucker like myself! I would like to know if there are any other places with similar quality for the same prices.
This has me wondering if the girls at Casanovas or Mansion would go for similar prices for shorter times onsite.

MelYes, you should be fine. I regularly take taxis out of the airport at that hour from the taxi stand. I always make sure the taxista sees me take note of the taxi number on the outside of the taxi just for good measure. I do that with every single taxi I get into in Colombia and I have never had a problem and have taken hundreds of taxi's in many cities. My novia's brothers think I am a pussy but I haven't been robbed or killed yet.

They know who is trustworthy, if the taxi is well kempt inside the person is usually the same. If you look at the police presence outside the taxi area the ale always stopping the taxis and checking their papers to see that they are in order. My observation is if you have a comfort level from the get go you shouldn't have any problems.

I have never had a problem with taxis in Bogota. At the airport there are usually many to choose from. If you look at the police presence outside the taxi area the ale always stopping the taxis and checking their papers to see that they are in order. My observation is if you have a comfort level from the get go you shouldn, t have any problems.IMPORTANT: Facing the main exit doors, take the passage TO YOUR RIGHT. That takes you to the taxi booking office.
You'll give them the address you want and get a paper with the taxi plate and fare on it. Give half to the driver, keep the other half yourself.
Never had a problem doing that.
Have had many problems when not.

Do NOT take taxis other than those offered in the official booth where a ticket with your address and overall fare is printed.
If you do take one of the cabs offered you outside the official line and mentioned booth, you will either end up paying a lot more, if you're lucky; or in case you happen to ride on an illegal unregistered car, may even have the paseo millonario ride, which means you'll get kidnapped and mugged by a gang of four very unfriendly Bogotanos.

I arrived here today at 5 am and took a taxi to the VIP Bogota Hotel. Very clean great security in a good section of the north (Santa Barbara). I took a nap and waited till the early afternoon for my novia from Medallin to arrive. I went to the Puente Aero airport to meet her and saw there was no airplane listed arriving at the time she said she was arriving.
I called her on the phone and she said she was at the airport of the republic, Eldorado International. I said wait at the door I would be there in 5 minutes—a quick taxi and I was at the international arrivals door. I asked a policeman if people from Colombia arrived here and he said no. I called my novia and could not understand what she was saying, so I gave the phone to the cop. He explained that she was in the terminal and would be heading this way with a policeman. What the hell??
I saw her coming past the departure doors with a cop, he was just kind enough to show her where I was waiting---nice people here !! It seems that the other terminal is strictly Avianca and she took a different airline that flies into Eldorado.
We took a cab back to the hotel VIP, she was so happy to see me we kissed all the way to the hotel.
We IM every night and she has not been working. We arrived at the apartment and she was hornier than I was. Truly amazing lovemaking---the real deal.. we spent a few hours in bed and then fell asleep in each others arms.
We were both starving when we awoke and we went to park 93 to the Café Renault. Great Italian food and sushi, they also have a pick it yourself Antipasto which is amazing and it is billed by the gram.
Back to the apartment for a little rest. We awoke again and made more love.

If you keep in touch you will have all the great sex you can handle when you return to Colombia.

If you're truly paranoid, like me, you can also fake a call on your cell phone and provide details of the car or driver. I've even asked a taxista to pull his license out of his wallet, then I read off the info to my imaginary friend.

I've been to Medellin twice. I think it's a great place to monger but for me it lacked other things to do and the food was less than desirable. I've spent two weeks there on each trip. When it comes time to go home I am more than ready to leave. If I had to be there I would make do but. You get the point.
I was thinking of doing a one month tour around the country going from CTG to Baranquilla Cali Medellin then end in Bogota. The more I research the more I don't want to do that. I assume I will need at least a few days to acclimate to the altitude in Bogota so that would cut into precious time. I don't travel light and the prices fluctuate within the country too much. Also concern of getting bored during the downtime.
Bogota. Can you spend 3 weeks to a month there without getting bored? Women are one thing but I need more. I am not a huge drinker (I prefer what comes from mother earth) and prefer to keep busy during the day.
Can you see movies with ease?
Is the food good?
Easy to get around?
Day or overnight trips worth taking/Photography?
Overall expenses (I would stay in the sante fe area "centro" like I do in Medellin) same prices as buenos aires or cheaper than or = Lima? I don't eat in dives or off the street. I preface this with a note that I have never spent more than 4 days in BOG, though I have been there many times. I usually go for a weekend, but I generally tire of just about every place I go after a few days.

This was not an issue for me. Cuzco kicked my butt. You really do need a day to acclimate in Cuzco. But honestly in BOG I can't tell the difference.

The answer to this question, in my mind, is "no." There's only so many cathedrals and gold exhibits to go around. The city is cold and somewhat dirty. There are no beaches like Rio and very few nature-oriented sights like in Costa Rica. MDE and BOG are very different in terms of climate and even things to do.
Don't get me wrong...BOG is a big city with a lot of people and a lot of nightlife, restaurants, etc. I just wouldn't want to commit to 3 weeks there.
Can you see movies with ease?
No idea.
Is the food good?
Nothing special, but not bad. It's cheap too.
Easy to get around?
As in MDE, taxis in BOG are cheap. You can go from the north to Santa Fe for maybe $6-$7. Taxis are everywhere.

Yes, restaurants are relatively cheap in BOG. But for some crazy reason, accomodations are not. I stay in higher end places, and no good higher end place is less than $120 or so. You also have to be careful to confirm there are no chica fees. But if you stay near Santa Fe, you're good to go.

For the most part, no, but in Santa Fe after dark, yes. I stopped going to Santa Fe at night a long time ago. Too rowdy/sketchy for me. Atunes during the day, though, is good for a 50k session.

Santa fe is 30k-100k most places on site. Up north for 1-3 hours at the nicer clubs you'll pay 200-250k. I paid 20k for a water once (!). One thing I like about BOG is that there is variety. Something for everyone. One thing I did not like was that bbbj can be difficult, and TLN is difficult as well.
If I had to compare BOG to either Lima or Buenos Aires, I'd say Lima. Though to be fair BOG is really in a class by itself. BA is characterized by cheapo apartments and daytime escorts, then a smattering of nighttime options. Lima is characterized mainly by the nighttime options (Tequila Rocks), but the service there is good, though a little more expensive. I hang out in the northern part of BOG at a club that is very much like Tequila Rocks. There are massage places in BOG but not really like BA.
IMO there is at least 2x the amount of things to do and see in BA as in either BOG or Lima.

Do not worry about the altitude. I live on the water in the USA and I am old and way overweight and the thin air doesn’t bother me. If you are worried about it there is a prescription medicine you can get to help with the problem. You take it a few days before going to altitude.
The temperature is almost constant about 17C in the daytime. That might seem Ok but at this altitude I find it cold, it also rains a lot. Bring a jacket and sweater.
There is a plethora of good to excellent restaurants here in Bogotá many of the best and most expensive are in Park 93. There you can even find a North Atlantic lobster for 75 dollars. There are hundreds of good bbq chicken places for 4 dollars for a whole chicken and potatoes.
Almost every shopping center has a multiplex theatres. The one I like best is in the plaza of the America in the south of Bogota I think it ha 10 or 12 screens. The salitre plaza in the north also has a good multiplex.
If you wear custom clothes, you can have fine cotton custom shirts made for $25 us her that cost $150 in the states. It pays for the airfare and then some.
There is one museum I would not miss, the museum of gold. There are plenty of scenic places to photograph.
I could spend the rest of my life here in Bogota. There are so many beautiful women here. You can pick up non pros easily. There is anything from a 15 dollar massage parlor to a 100 dollar an hour chica.
Today was a long story but the high points were I had a chica that said she was 20 last time I was here. Today she said she turns 20 tomorrow, so I will be the last guy to have sex with this teenager. I am having a brain fart looking at the Bogota maps. The same thing happened to me when trying to organize my first Medellin trip.
The type of grid system colombian cities work with are not that user friendly. I sort of understand them but then they throw in transversas and other crap.
Anyway when I read about the " South" of bogtoa meaning the santa fe area that would mean south of the safe "north" area (egipto, la concordia, belen, la candelaria) not necessarily the furthest location south in Bogota. Right?
I am seeing barrios like "fontibon" and "bavaria " in the south. Would those areas be considered off the radar? Meaning they don't pertain to anything monger oriented not even dangerous SW scenes?
I guess you can use the public university (barrio alfonso lopez ) as a marker. Any further south of there and it looks like you are way out of the loop or not?
I plan to start en la candelaria for a few days then branch out further "south".

I am going to be staying at Viaggio Country, its a furnished apartment. Does anyone have any experience with them? Nothing has changed much since last time I was in Bogota, in particular prices remain the same.
1) Abejita
I apologize, the address I gave was not correct: it is Cra 14 but with calle 83, between number 15 (a cofee shop) and 31 (a clothes shop). Same service, same type of girls, with few negritas if you are in that kind of style. They may close as early as 10pm but are open mornings and afternoons. The mid-day period is quite busy, so you may want to avoid this (probably business men coming during their lunch time).
2) Cra 16A with calle 23
I discovered this place after reading some reports about Atunes, Paisas Bar, etc. The area is not safe but the small portion of this street is, because the bars have their own security guys, and there are policemen too.
This is a good mongering place because you have many bars alltogether. Only two or three (including Paisas Bar) have a sufficient number of girls to choose from with a large variety. The service is basic (no DFK for example) but the prices are hard to beat (45,000 pesos for a 20 min session) therefore, most customers are locals. The rate includes the room. One girl quoted me a TLN session for 250,000. The men/women ratio may be 5 to 1, but this is not a problem as many are just coming to see the strip shows.
This is a hit and miss. Yesterday, I had a session with Margarita from Gartagena who has big manmade breasts, but they were too sensitive and I could not enjoy them as much as I would have liked to. However I recommend this place also because nobody cares if you do not buy a drink (which are unexpensive anyway). If you go to the "Forty Nine", you will have to buy at least a 10,000 trago.
3) The Forty Nine
I was surprised to see that during week days, the place is very quite but the number of girls is rather limited, and even if the ration Women/Men is at least 5, I came back without having any session, because no one fancied me. I was told by a cab driver that around 2-3am the place becomes crowded because all the girls from other places go there. For the time being I cannot confirm this but will try in the days to come. Conclusion : avoid the 49 during week days before 2am.

You can double the price, double your time, still get in and out for less than $50. My thing is that I don't like spending more than 15-20 mins in the crappy rooms. They make me feel filthy.
If you want more time. For example I invited to the girl to the hotel near to the these places. The hotels (like Milenium (in front piscina fot the day) or Villa claudia near other Piscina, i paid $12 (US6 for 1 hour)

CIn my opinion MDE hands down but I also have more time in MDE under my belt,most of my time in BOG has been an overnight stay to save on airfare and on to other places,I have done this many,many times but that doesn't allow enough time to get to know the city well so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

My trip proved busier than expected. So little opportunity even for order in, since hotel was packed with delegates to meeting.
I went to the Antique district on Sat afternoon to look at things with local friend. After that, I chose to wander and realized I was close to Chapinero.
After orientating with the map, I picked out Abejita's at Calle 63, thinking it might link to abejitas dot com. Not the case, but did Ok even if the place was a dive.
Took some time to find since the place is a doorway entrance labeled 63: 16A-42, next to a chicken shop on the corner of Calle 63 and Cra 16A. See pictures - poor quality but might help someone. The stairs go up and left so the place is above the shop on the corner.
Arrived around 5pm. Got beer. Shown 4 girls. All ok. 2 7+s. Picked Camilla - 19 yo from Bogota. Cute face, shoulder length brunette hair, dark coffee colored eyes - classic Colombian in my view. Altura 168cm, breasts prob 36 or so. Limited English but very personable. Second, I got stopped trying to take a chica back and paid something ridiculous like $35. The elevators are separated from the lobby by double doors, and there is a security guard at said doors. Yes I recommend this hotel. If you're not looking for low-end stuff, the Embassy Suites is the best hotel you could stay at. Pretty much all other high-end BOG hotels officially have a guest fee. The Embassy Suites does not. In fact, I regularly take back 2 at a time and they have no problems. They just holds the girls' IDs.
Embassy Suites is not cheap. About $130-$150. But I think it's worth it. The rooms are spacious, and they all have flat screens and large, nice beds.
It's in Chapinero, which has some low-end action and is near Santa Fe. I like it because it's between the northern clubs and Santa Fe.

I mainly monger in Santa Fe. In some place like Las Paisas when you walk in the door they literally ask you "Would you like an Agulia, or a Costeña?" Is it socially acceptable and/or even possible to get something without alcohol in a bar in Colombia?

Tequendama was a top notch hotel back in the fifties and sixties. The building is owned by the colombian military, I found out.
No wonder it has never been really revamped (it is rented for operation to different chains, such as Intercontinental, back in the better days, and now to Crowne).
This ownership, and the fact that some congresspeople live nearby, in Residencias Tequendama (rental apartments) also explain why security is always very tight around its premises.
Not a good place for mongering, IMHO.
I had someone try to pick my pocket in santa fe, near avenida 19 on K 15 or 16. The prostitutes standing on the sidewalk helped me pick up the contents of my pocket from the sidewalk - the thief had briefly brushed near me about 3 minutes before and I should have been more on guard instead of looking for a diamond ***** among the gorditas. I lost 10k pesos and recovered the rest of my money and stuff from the sidewalk.
Walking back toward Calle 22, I was stopped by the poilice, along with some other guys. One of the prostitutes said "you don't have to frisk him, he is a gringo", but they did anyway, and looked at the copy of my passport. (Of course she said this in Spanish, not English.) The senior police oficer told me it was not safe for me to walk south of Calle 22, even in the afternoon like this. I should stay in the regular red light district (calle 22 to 24).
One night I took a taxi to Paisa club across the street from Atunes on K16a. The doorman at Atunes, who I am friendly with, told me to try Paise or Fevre across the street after Atunes closes at 8pm, but avoid the other places and all the ones on the same side of the street as Atunes.
As soon as I entered the door, I ran into a girl that I have known pretty well in St Maarten (caribbean). We talked and then went next door outside to buy food for her and her 2 friends. The bill came to 11k, less than a single bear at some places. As we went back, she decided it was too dangerous for me in that neighborhood at night and gave me her cell# and put me into a taxi.
I have given up on the casas in Santa Fe. There are lots of cute girls, but the knock after 15 minutes is a big turnoff. Now I just collect phone numbers and have them come to my room or we go to a "motel".
I found one deluxe motel for lovers who have no privacy at home: start at the corner of avenida caracas and calle 63 (this is a transmilenio stop). She takes the fee of 28k, she puts the change in a passthru box, with the receipt, which you keep and turn in as you leave. I stayed in one for 3 hours. don't know what the max time is.
I was staying at a youth hostel in La Candalaria because it was convenient to my reason for being in Bogota and a private room was only 40k. everyone speaks english in these places and the clients are mainly healthy and horny young backpackers, male and female. I didn't score with any of the girls, but if you were under 40 and chevere and interesting it would probably not be too hard. You can get to the Santa Fe red light district on the D90 transmilenio bus and return on the J74 bus.
I brought an ordinary girl back to the hostel to make dinner together in the shared kitchen, have a drink in the social area, and make out in my private room. I also had two working girls visit me, in discreet clothes, for sessions in my room - no problem. Althought the local staff may wonder how I know so many local girls.
One observation on colombianas and privacy/prudery. I have observed many siimilar attacks of timidity/privacy on the part of colombianas, pro and non-pro. Most of them girls who work in St Maarten and the other islands won't use the toilet without closing the door. This is after doing some seriously intimate things like sit on your face and having you lick their asshole. Interestingly, they will usually clean themselves up in the bathroom without closing the door. Perhaps this is because they HAVE to do that, but they don't trust you with their possessions while the door is closed (they can usually wait to later to use the toilet). The reason I know about the door closing for the toilet is that I became friendly with many of them through repeat business and gained their confidence. With some,when they became my "novias" they would shut the bathroom door to clean their pussies!
When I take Colombianas to the nude beach in St Maarten (Orient bay) some may wear pretty skimpy bathing suits, but only 1 was willing to sunbath topless even though there are topless european women all around. And only 1 calena who had lived in Italy for over a year walked topless down to the nude part of the beach and then suggested that we both shed our bottoms, which we did (a first for me).

But the Santa Fe red lilght district is not that complicated. The transmilenio station has exits for calle 22 or calle 24 at the other end). Basically the "safe" area (this is relative) is between both ends of the station, going 4 blocks away toward the airport, away from the mountains. There are lots of other prostitutes working in smalll apartments in other streets nearby, but there is no police presence there so you are on your own. (not recommended for the obvious gringo).
I have an update on my hostel. Tonight after my non-pro left (without sex) I had a call from a working girll that I met in zona rosa (calle 86a, exstasis) in June. She wanted to come over and visit. Thanks!There should be no problem with you guys having a good time without booze. Most nice bars include non alcoholic drinks in their lists. Non drinking attitudes have been highly stimulated by local authorities during the last decade, and club owners are aware of the importance of pampering this side of their clientele. In fact, most Colombian working girls come from disfunctional homes, destroyed by alcoholic fathers or violent boyfriends, and highly appreciate sober, clever and kind men over the usual hard partiers.
The issue always comes down to money. All brothels, bars, discos, clubs, restaurants, etc., earn most of their profit from selling alcohol. But if you're willing to pay overpriced water or sodas, everyone should be happy enough with you and treat you no differently than they treat their regular drinking clients.

Anyway, I decided to give this Hotel VIP Bogota a try. Far as I can tell, it seems to be similar to the Medellin Mansion or Blackbeards in DR, where there are women on-site. But I can't seem to find much info on here (as far as reports) about this place. Anyone ever been there or heard anything about it? Anyone know what I can expect the ladies to charge?

I never had a problem with a BBBJ. Don't ask up front, they will almost always say no, first they are "ladies" and second they do not know what and how clean your dick is. My friend Mel and I disagree on this issue.
Yes, it is difficult to get BBBJ in Bogota. By difficult I mean you may have to ask multiple girls, especially in the incall places in Santa Fe. Some girls won't do it at all. Others will ask for more money.

Flew in to Bogota from Panama city panama. For some reason we boarded the plane at 830pm but we didn't land till 1045pm. Literally we sat on the runway for 1hr before take off. And panama city airport is not a busy airport right now.

He says this is Lolas and you talk to girls or just drink with them(at your expense) and if you decide to attempt to remove anyone of the girls it would be 100k pesos(at your expense). By the way, you negotiate the rates with the girls directly he whispers.

Stayed at the VIP Bogota for 3 nights. Very easy. Just wrote an emai to Fred. It is a private apartment with ensuite bathroom, sitting room, and fully equipped kitchen, as well as a local liand-line phone. It is at a main intersection in what appears to be a nicer and safer part of town. There is security at the front door and there is no problem as far as guests. Fred even offered to help find what you want.
The apartment was very clean and tidy. The only down side was traffic noise in the morning. Only a problem if you like to sleep in in the morning and if you are sensitive to it. And I guess willbe the same in any hotel in central Bogota. The other thing was that the sunlight was very bright through my curtains. No problem for me I had my eyemask.
I flight arrived at around 8:50 pm and I was picked up by juan Camillo, from the airport Fred's brother in law He drove me back to the apartment where I arrived at about 10 pm. So only slightly more than 1 hour from flight arrival t to clearing immigration, getting luggage, getting through customs, meeting Juan Camillo and getting into the apartment. Camillo showed me everything and introduced me to the security guards. Fred then called to see if I needd anything and offered to give me a guided tour of Bogota the next day. I said I would quite like to see some local nocturnal hotspots. Camillo offered to take me and he drove around town showing and sampling some some of them. Great start to my first time in Bogota.
I have no hesitation recomending Hotel VIP in Bogota, especially for the first time visitor. Fred is always available to take calls for information and advice.

Can anyone suggest a hotel in Zone T.I have stayed at the Viaggio Virrey apartments, jjust a few blocks away, toward the Transmilenio station at Cra. 18 # 86A-36. 180k per night single including breakfast. It was very nice. I had a girl visit me after dinner for a few hours, but since she was not staying the night, there was no question of a chica fee or paying for a double. I know some will shy away from Santa Fe area, but with right knowledge and preparation you can make it a good visit. Talent is the same and sometimes better quality then the places up north and the prices are many times lower in Santa Fe then in Zona Rosa. You have to very careful in this area; this is a challenging neighborhood for safety. There is a police and army presence there, but don’t let that fool you, you still have to take care of your security. If you don’t have experience with large South America cities and don’t speak basic Spanish, the hire a driver, the money you spend will be well worth it. You can negotiate fixed price for the full night or hourly rate. This is certainly not the place to be a hero.
I tried to stay in the one block area of Cr16A, between Cl 23 and 24 the place where the most of the action is. It’s bustling with people and vendors and well lit. Any side streets from there will be darker. A walk from there to La Piscina or El Castillo is possible and it’s only a few blocks away, but watch you back. Check out more then one club, some are much busier then others and some will be completely dead. There are so many clubs in the area that it makes sense to check a few and find the one you like. Many chicas move frequently from club to club looking for a customer, so if you fancy one don’t count on her to be there an hour later. Chicas inside the club are much better the streetwalkers, so don’t waste your time with a SW in Santa Fe.
Taking a cab back is another challenge is you don’t have a driver, this is Bogota after all. It’s best to call for a cab or have one pre-arranged with the cab company beforehand. Cabs hang out at the corner of Cr 16A and Cl 24.
Also, thanks to all of the members reports on Bogota. It was invaluable during this trip. The list compiled by “World Travel 69” under Bogota Lists thread is a must for anyone going to Bogota.

A follow-up to my post about not drinking in Colombia. I recently did a trip to Bogota and a few other cities. In all of the bars in Santa Fe, you can order Gatorade for $5K or Red Bull for $10K. ("Gatorade" is pronounced in Colombia similar to AmEnglish, but you have to enunciate the "t" and roll the "r" a bit).
The only place in the country where I was refused service was Joy Night Club, in Manizales, where you had to order a half-liter of liquor. No other option. I told them I don't drink and they told me I had to leave. There are many 'whiskerias' all over Colombia which do not serve beer and you have to order liquor. In general most of these places serve Red Bull. Other than Joy, even in fairly local bars in cities like Manizales and Pereira, I had no problem finding something without alcohol. E. G. Oasis in Manizales served Coca-Cola in a cold glass bottle for 1500 pesos! In Flores Frescas (in Pereira), I was actually able to order a pitcher of Colombiana (soft drink), for, I forget the exact price but around 6000.
A few other notes.
1. Colombian bars are now no-smoking due to national law (different from my last time). I'm sure this has been noted before on this board, but I didn't see the memo.combine with the no drinking, and you can actually spend the whole night out mongering with minimal olfactory evidence (except all of the putrid perfume which all of the girls wear! )
2. La Casona was/is closed. Due to 'remodeling', not sure for how long. El Fiebre was advertising itself as La Casona. (I think most of the bars on that block are under the same ownership). That bar as well as Las Paisas and La Troya were rocking very hard, as well as Atunes. I felt that La Piscina had dipped somewhat. And I've never been a big fan of El Castillo, although that one was pretty lively also.
Also: I have a fetish for women with orthodontic braces. I have been going to Bogota for 5 years, and it has always been the best city for finding women with braces, it now is even better than it ever has been. Bogota is THE CITY to monger in, if you have a braces fetish, especially Santa Fe. Probably as many as 1 out of 3 working ladies in Bogota has braces. If anybody knows of a locale anywhere on the planet which is comparable, I would certainly be very interested in hearing about it.

Here is my review of the few I visited. By all means this is not all of the clubs in Santa Fe, just my sample during this trip. See Bogota Lists thread for locations, maps and prices.
El Castillo. It’s right next to the Transmilenio stop on Calle 22 (if you are adventurous enough to take it there). Large club with pricey drinks and good shows. Crowd is somewhat more upscale then other clubs. Chicas will be asking for 80-100K, but you can find similar talent in other clubs for 30-60K on Cr 16A.
La Piscina. Similar to El Castillo, but was less busy. Many talents on hand and prices similar to El Castillo. Worth spending some time there. Their day version is also pretty good.
Las Vegas. One block from El Castillo. Packed with locals and average talent. Beers are cheap if you can get a seat, but shows are so-so.
Manzalitas. Small club and not very busy. Suppose to feature all paisa talent, but it didn’t appear that way. Very few chicas. It’s on the way from El Castillo to the clubs on Cr 16A.
Venus. Average club with average talent. Crowd is thinner here, both customers and chicas. You can find some gems here, but you have to look hard.
Troya. Large and very busy club. One of the best in my opinion. Plenty of talent on hand and some good shows. A bit more pricier then others, but well worth it. Rooms upstairs are also fairly clean. You can enter on both sides, from Cr 16 or 16A, very convenient and fun walk though.
Las Paisas. One of the best on Cr 16A. Very busy packed with customers and chicas. There is a cover charge, but you can exchange a ticket for a free beer. You can get a stunner here for 60K. Watch your pockets as this place is very busy.
In my opinion Troya and Las Paisas are the best places to be in Santa Fe, and not only they are on the same block, but they are on the same side of the street, which you can appreciate in this area of Bogota.
Tamaguchi, Llaneras and Aton. I stopped by there, but they were not worth spending time in. Llaneras was better one of the three.

Here is my review of the places on the north side of the city that I visited recently.
El Chapinero area of the city offers best opportunities for mongering, from my point of view. Area below/South Cl 72 (Chile) and West of Cr 14 (Av Caracas) is a bit dodgy, but much cleaner then Santa Fe and with right precautions you can walk around alone. This is a stone throw from hustle and bustle of Zona Rosa, but it’s much quieter, with few shops and food stalls serving local food. It’s an easy walk from Zona Rosa, but keep in mind that none of the (except Tantra Spa 67 during open hours ) will have signs at the door, so you might be better off spending 2-3K on the cab, unless you are good with Bogota street numbering system.. All of these places close around 8 or 9 at night, so this will be a good early evening or afternoon place for an easy score before the night on the town. Don’t show up before closing, you provider will rush to complete as fast as she can. Most of these places cater to locals and you will rarely see any gringos here, except some well informed members of this site.
Chicas Milenio, Calle 71 # 14A-20 Great place and by far my favorite. It’s a small but clean place with 10-12 chicas on hand ranging from 6 to 8 with only 30K for 30 min with some girls very enthusiastic about providing it to you. No BS about pretending to be a massage parlor, just straight service provider.
Chicas 2000/ Las Profesionales, Calle 71 # 14A-27-33 is right across the street from Chicas Milenio. At 20K for 20 min is probably the cheapest full service you can get without going to Santa Fe. Quality of the chicas is average and service is average.
Kukylandia (Av. Caracas), # 73-28 Good shows at night, low beer prices, but chicas are not the best quality. This place gets busy at night with locals. Definitely the one to check out if you are in the neighborhood.
Tantra Spa 67, Carrera 15 # 67-24 Great place with oriental inspired décor. Only 4 chicas were working when I got there in the afternoon, but the place in clean, friendly and service was great. You can also order reliable escorts here. See more info on their website.
Some places, like Tantra Spa 67 will have specials for a beer and girl for 20 min combined at 25K. I guess this is an excellent after work stopover for some bogotianos. You can enjoy it too on the way back to hotel from the center.

Area north of Cl 72 (Chile) is where all of the clubs, restaurants, hotels and shopping malls are. In this area mongering places will be pricier by Bogota standards and will cater mostly to foreigners or well-heeled locals. It’s safe to walk around day or night, just don’t forget that you are still in Bogota. If you don’t care about the price you will have a good time there, but keep in mind that asking prices here range from 180K for to 400K in the places like Revista Show and you can get for 30K just 10 minutes away in El Chapinero.
All of the places I visited below are an easy walk from Suites Real 85.
Revista Show (Cabaret Sign) Calle 86a # 14-57 and Casanova's next to it are both top of the line establishments. Chicas will start by asking 300 – 400K and bar fine is another 150K. Yes there are some stunners there, probably 8 or 9 if dropping 500K for a full service does not bother you. Of course you do have a chance of getting a gorgeous 22 y.o. paisa to spend a night with you and you don’t have to dig though the seedy Santa Fe to do it. Prices are negotiable, but still, don’t expect it to drop from 400K to 50K for ST.
Lalo’s is another high-end club in this area, prices were a bit higher there.
Angel’s (Mantis Club) on Calle 83 # 14-26 and Abejitas on Carrera 14 # 83-23 around the corer from it are places to see even if you don’t plan to pay for the service. Billing themselves as massage parlors offering all types of massage including Colombian style (tempting ;) they have huge flat screen TV’s on the walls showing porn and sexy chicas in short skirts that will offer you full service for 180K. They are clean and it’s a good choice for an afternoon gateway. Keep in mind that they don’t have any signs at the door, so go by the address of the place provided. They are both on the 2nd floor of the two story building.

I really liked Suites Real 85 on the corner of Cr 18 and Cl 85, clean and pleasant place to stay. It’s right next to nightlife district, only 4 blocks away and huge Carulla 24 hr supermarket is 2 blocks away. There is a ton of restaurants, bars and shops in the immediate walking distance and area is very pleasant. You can appreciate that you can walk to Suites Real 85 after a few beers and not subject yourself to a taking a cab from the street late at night. Hotel is very girl friendly and you will have no issues in bringing you chica here late at night or getting an escort girl to your room. Breakfast in the morning will be an icing on the cake. Suites Real 97 is a bit cheaper, but further north from the corner of Cl 85 and Cr 15 nightlife/clubs area. VIP apartments run by Fred are even further north from Suites Real 97. Price is a bargain in comparison to what you would pay in Zona Rosa, but being on 125th Calle you are that much further from the center. You would get a private room and share facilities. Rooms are nice and clean and service is top notch. This place is good if you limit your visit to clubs in Zona Rosa/Parque 93 or you get an chica to come to your place. Tantra Spa 67, Carrera 15 # 67-24 is good and reliable for that, 180K for 1 hr service, transport included they will throw in anal for another 100K, ask if the girl will do it. However daily or nightly trips to Santa Fe from here can be exhausting, Bogota traffic gets really bad. Pesqueria Jaramillo is a classy seafood place that’s next to VIP apartments and Carulla supermarket is just a block away. Fred was always ready to help and can put you in touch if you need entertainment for the night.
Jose Alvana is a driver for Suites Real 85 that you can use. You can usually spot him in a lobby waiting for clients. He is an older gentleman, punctual and easy to work with. Negotiate your hourly or daily rate beforehand. He can take you to the airport, places of interest or any entertainment place you wish. Have the address ready since he might not know every single one of them. He speaks Spanish only. His prices will be higher then a cab, but you will get a personal service and piece of mind if a trustworthy person picks you up after a night out in Santa Fe. If you need someone with fluent English then William Serna (the Kangaroo Man) 1 57 [Telephone Number deleted by Admin] is a good choice. He will charge more then Jose, but he is younger with a newer car and he will be willing to escort you in Santa Fe area if you so desire. Always negotiate hourly or daily rate up front. He can also set up with drivers who speak little or no English and will charge less. In my opinion if you are an intoxicated westerner taking a cab on the street in Santa Fe area in the middle of the night you are pushing your luck hard. Paying 40-50K for a driver that you can trust to drive you around that night is a small price for safety.

Recently, I met this cab driver interested in the hobby, who talked to me about a place I hadn't heard of.
Most reports are either centered in the Santa Fe area (Piscina, Atunes, etc.), or in a vast piece of the city generally known as the north, ranging from 106 street massage parlors, to fifty-something chapinero area casas.
Well, my friends, this should be something interesting for those of you who are fond of adventure.
The south side of town apparently has its own share of fun. Primero de Mayo, for example, is the zona rosa of Bogota's working class. Rumor has it that Fresita and Barbie, Piscina's absolute stars, end their stripper shifts and leave to party until dawn in different joints in this area.
The mention of Conrado's as the south's own Piscina, makes me wonder if someone has already been there, and if so, it it's worth the apparent risk of going beyond everyone's known boundaries.

Cheers! I took a ride down to Conrado b/c a few people mentioned it. Got down there, well, well south of Santa Fe (maybe 10-15 mins). Got there and there was only one strip club! I asked the taxi driver if there was anything else, and he said not really.
There were some other bars there. Maybe he was just fucking with me, but I didn't see any place worth going to.
I honestly don't give a fuck about safety b/c I can pass and speak enough speanish but I was hammered that night and didn't care about an extra 20k cop on taxi's to maybe see a newer spot. Didn't work out for me that night, but heyyyyyy. It's all part of the fun!

So here's a little info from my quick stopover in Bogota.
I am sure I overpaid for everything but was in a hurry to negotiate the best price.
I stayed at the suites real 85. I haven't checked out yet but I think the price is somewhere around 175000 for a one bedroom suite.comes with a small kitchen and living room, free breakfast served in your room. I don't know what else is out there but I was quite satisfied.
First night was heading to abejita's and was taken to Angel's instead by a dude on street. So angels is one of those massage places where the massage is horrible but you pay extra for the happy ending. Seemed to be about 4-5 girls there I went with a calena with big fake tits. The massage was pretty crappy but the sex was good. Price 200, 000. Which is what I expected from others posts.
So my only day in town I hired jose to drive me around. His number is listed elsewhere. Paid him 80, 000 to take me to montessarat, museo del oro, donacion botero, plaza bolivar. We basically did a full city tour of the old city. Great guy, speaks only spanish but I do recommend him.
So at end of day I ask jose what he thinks of Atunes, he said no no no, way too dangerous. He then recommended I go to la piscina. Off we went, along the way he gave me his view of the following.
Atunes- too dangerous.
Abejitas- good place but too expensive.
Tantra place on called 67 I think- his words "muchas feas" there.
La piscine- mas economico, muchas chicas.
So on the drive over we passed Atunes and la piscina couldn't be 5 minutes away. Basically same area, so why is one dangerous and the other not. No clue. But to answer the age old question is it safe to walk around the area?

Lucky for me there was a little cute chica from barranquilla just how I like them pequena and cute. We tried to talk for a few minutes and then the negotations began. She originally asked for 200, 000 for 30 minutes. I knew this way way high for the area so we started to haggle. Even after bringing over one of the waiters the lowest I could get her was to 100, 000 for half hour. I felt this was still high for santa fe standards, fellow mongers you can tell me just how much later. But I said fuckit and off we went for 100, 000. I am glad I overpaid because the sex was real good.

My guess would be the taxista said Atunes was "dangerous due to the fact that there was a huge robbery there about a month ago... but to me that would make the other bars in the zone MORE dangerous for the simple fact that they haven't been hit yet :P

coming with a long delay here's finally my contribution to the forum after returning from my very first trip to colombia. stayed the most of the time. 1½ months. in bogotá. thanks to the great and informative reports on this forum i could plan my way through the colombian nightlife carefully in advance and could enjoy pleasant experiences. first of all i've to confess that i'm an eurogringo not mixing at all in the colombian scenery. on the other hand i do communicate in spanish on a professional level. i'd like to point out that the female folks of colombia didn't knocked me out in terms of beauty, body, charm or whatever a man could desire. although they haven't been exactly my cup of tea, there are some hiden gems waiting to be descovered. i can imagine that the enthusiastic forum reports are mostly written by the sexually starved northamerican bunch.

nothing to write home about. due to security reasons took my local driver with me. he wasn't enthusiastic about roaming around this place, but i wanted to have my own picture on the scenery. therefore i highly recommend a local mate to be with you when checking out this area. visited la piscina and paisa bar. the atmosphere reminded me the gangster-movies of quentin tarantino and robert rodriguez. the reality around santa fé is indeed much worse. i came along some of the most scary hideous face expressions the human breed could ever bring up. on the other hand there was lots of heavily equipped police around the streets. some corpulent and gaudily made-up street workers gave me the impression to be drug addicts. in front of la piscina parked an armoured scout car with police emblem. at the entrance stood a cop with an automatic rifle in his hands. the rough and worn out faces inside the establishment seemed to be cut out from a latin american jail you see in adventure movies. however this was real. asked for black label. a big mischievious waiter stated that the drinks would be sold by the bottle only. orderd a beer an got a 1l bottle of club colombia. my companion got a 1l bottle of coke. it wouldn't embarrass anybody if you burp out loudly in this location. watched at some kind of lapdance/striptease performed on the bridge over the pool. i'd try to describe the babes: mestizos (ie indian cum spanish), low rate bitchy faces covered with tons of gaudy make-up, huge bodies, huge silicon enhanced tits, huge asses and sad expressions. my colombian mate felt obviously unconfortable in this place. not worth to pay a visit again, anyway great experience. moved on to paisa bar few streets further. drinks were served in civilized quantities there. more relaxed, however a bit of threatening tension floating in the air. a nude mestizo babe shaked her ass reluctantly on the bar. being fed up by the scenery i left somewhat disgusted, but on the other hand glad to have scratched that itch.

Less than $150 for a nice one bed for the weekend.
The driver picked me up, took me food shopping, and got me some phone credits....

Those are cheap flights, even if you buy on the day of travel (~ $100). I'm sure you'd save a little bit buying way ahead of time, but unless you are on a peasant budget, I honestly would not bother. I usually buy the day of travel, or maybe a day or two before. There is an Avianca ticket office on every street corner of Bogota, or you can just head directly for Puente Aereo, and buy a ticket there.
I like MDE way better than Cali - not for the girls necessarily but for p4p venues. Also the weather. I am mainly into places like strip clubs and bars; my experience is that MDE has a far larger scene than what I could find in Cali. Of course, I like BOG better than either one, which puts me in the minority.

Just a quick note.

So Venezuelans know the currency will collapse any time soon bad. So they buy as much as possible and this demand and competition to get Dlls creates a good exchange rate for us.
Studios, and some agencies have good prices. From 250-400 Blvs. Be careful with the cell phone numbers at the pages. Most of them are agencies who double the prices. Girls asking for 600 or even 1000 Blvs.
There are plenty of cheap places and Strip clubs.
Also the crime is increasing very bad, more than any other big city in LatAmr take more precautions and use your common sense when going out at day or night in Caracas.

Well I'm going to have to AGREE with you completely.
First of all, you're correcto, we do all have our own taste in chicas.
