Hi guys,

I've been in Colombia for the past 10 months, and recently met Walter Mora in Cali. Walter is a one man operation that provides guide service, introductons, and translations for english speaking foreigners. He provides a variety of packages as far as his services, and or course you are free to negotiate any fees you like. Somone mentioned Walter charging something like $900 to meet a prepago, I believe that this fee is actually for something like a liketime membership. I've worked with Walter here and he has been honest and upfront with me about everything. He does know a lot of woman, both prepagos and non working girls. If you want a prepago, tell him, if you want family girl, tell him as well. I've been out with Walter in the field and have not exprienced any of the pre-arranged set up dates that were mentioned. From my experience Walter is an honest guy that tried hard to please his clients.

There is an American that owns an introduction agency in Barranquilla. The vast majority of the young single Colombian women without children in his agency are prepagos. In fact, his recruiters are prepagos. That agency charges $1,475 for just a few days of introductions. Yes, you read that correctly. He charges $1,475 for just a few days of introductions.

On another popular message board, that same agency owner is worshipped. The complete idiots on that forum line up to pay the owner $1,475 for just a few days of introductions. In fact, they often get engaged to one of the prepagos after knowing her for just a few days with little or no ability to comunicate to her in Spanish. Would any of those same Gringos get engaged to an American women just a few days after meeting her? It's both hilarious and pathetic.

You can meet the same prepagos in his agency much more economically with a minimum of networking in Barranquilla. Again, the reason why some people think Gringos are complete idiots is because many (probably most) Gringos in Colombia are complete idiots.

I agree with you about these guys meeting a girl for a few days and getting engaged, absolutely insane, they have "victim" and "born to lose" written on their foreheads, and every country they travel to it is translated.

Some guys are crazy, if you would not do something desperate in your own country why do it in another country. It is easy to get sex, especially in these latin countries, and especially if you know the language.

If you're talking about Jamie, it's not true that the "vast majority" of the young women without children are hookers. I've never used his services, but he's gotten good reviews, and supposedly runs a very efficient and honest agency, compared to the rest. I agree with the rest of your post though, it's pricey, and getting engaged when you can't speak the same language and have only spent a few weeks of face-to-face time is lunacy.

I have met Walter on several occasions and it is true that he does have alot of connections to pre-pagos and prostitutes(as any single male operator would in Colombia), but passes himself off as a marriage introduction man. Maybe he has an occasional legit woman or 2 from time to time, but he'll line up anyone with a prepago if need be to get his hands on your money. Also on his website (which is www.personal meetings.com) he has slept with many of the girls on his site. I understand he had his wife (maybe ex wife now) on his site it to help get customers. If you ever see him in operation he really has a street hustler edge to him. I would however recommend him to take you around to the casa of prostitution if you don't know your way around.

Just came back from Cali yesterday from a 2 week stay. On the way back to my apartment in the South with a chica I was in the north. We were traveling on la quinta with 3 girls and 3 guys in a private car. I see up ahead a typical Colombian police roadblock (may I say I have seen much more of these roadblocks here in CALI, Maybe due to the bombings the week before?) I cant vouch if this is the same or any other Colombian city because I havent been in MDE since July. ANYWAY the cops jump in front of the car and pull us over, everybody gets out, Everybody's frisked, papers for the car and cedulas demanded from everybody, One cop gets to me and asks me for my cedula, so I look at him and shrug my shoulders telling him respectfully im a GRINGO and dont have any Colombian cedula but I do have my U.S. Drivers license. He looks at it, looks for holograms and brings it over to the sergeant. The sergeant works his way over to me and asks me why I don't have my passport and I explain to him that I never carry my passport for fear of loss or robbery, he tells me thats a bad excuse and walks away for a while, comes back to me 5 minutes later telling me he does not know who I am and he has every right to detain me and put me in a holding cell until they can verify my identity. I told him that I know that, I apologized to him and it would never happen again. All of this while the rest of my girls and friends are talking to the cops and vouching for my existence. The car and everybody's cedulas check out. The cop comes back again and says "listen here, out MOTOS are really low on gas and if I can help him out, I say of course I can not wanting to spend any time in a Colombian jail, I reach in my pocket and pull out a 20k, he says "thats nice but we have 5 bikes here" so I take back the 20k and give him a 50k. He says gracias, walks away and says "alright let them go" I have heard about these common shakedowns but have never in my 3 years traveling all over Colombia experienced one. Moral to the story, Carry a copy of your passport and better yet get it notarized by a Colombian notary and save yourself some time, anxiety, fear and money.

I always carry a laminated photocopy of the main page of my passport wherever I travel. You should have called their bluff when they asked for more. They were just being greedy jerks. Just say you're practically broke because of the girl you're with.

They actually held him till our taxista buddy came to the hotel and woke me up to get his passport.

My buddy had no passport copy or ID with him at all.

Definitely carry the copy.

I use pretty good judgement. And Tiny is a misnomer. In Mexico City, where everybody's afraid of the taxistas because of express kidnappings, the taxi drivers are afraid of me.- sometimes it's hard to get one to pick me up. My point is it can be fun hopping around from club to club with a buzz in a place like Cartagena. But from what I've read I'm not sure I'd want to do that in Cali.

Where are the best ATMs?I always go to a populated ATM, usually in a mall. Then I go into the mall, do a lap or stay a while, then leave out a different exit. Or I go to a ATM that has armed security. ALWAYS. But they are very plentiful in populated areas but where my novia lives there is ONE ATM and there is usually a line around the block.

The first time I went to Cali I encountered one of those roadblocks leaving the airport. It was like in the middle of the day and the driver not a taxista thought it was unusual. The roadblock was before you exited the airport where you or the driver pay some sort of tarifa. Ok, these are military looking guys with rifles, assaults weapons, etc. They go through my luggage, check my passport, and let us go. I keep a laminated passport with me at all times. Ironically I had my passport laminated in Cali. Last Nov. An american told me he tells any "shakedown" characters he only carries his real passport for "la aduana. " Said he doesn't mind discussing it later with the attorney he has on retainer at the jailhouse or at the U. S. Embassy. He says they back off at that point because they don't hear stuff like that.

Thanks for pointing this out. In addition to its stated purpose (for border crossings between the USA and Mexico, Canada, Bermuda & the Caribbean... except for such crossings by air) this does appear to be a nice alternative to carrying a photocopy of one's passport.

I was concerned to note that this Passport Card contains an RFID chip. Although they say the chip does not contain your personal information (only a unique ID number enabling US government officials to access your info in a secure database), one might worry that the presence of this chip might be used by nefarious 3rd parties to target US citizens. However, in their FAQ I noticed the statement

"In addition, to mitigate any possibility that the card could be tracked, it will be issued with a protective sleeve that will prevent the card from being read when not in use."

Thus, until you pull the card from its sleeve, the RFID is supposedly unreadable. This added tidbit may be enough to push me to get one, despite the fact that it contains an RFID chip.

You can have both. It is $20 extra, but you have mail in your passport with the application. In my case I do not have the three weeks necessary before I travel.

my cali adventure

getting around the city was not that bad, traffic does get really bad in the a.m. and the late afternoon. unlike costa rica they actual have street signs that work and make sense. taxis have meters and i had no problems getting a cab or going where i needed to just have the address. i cannot over state that spanish is a must, if you plan to make your trip a truly memorable one. english speakers are rare here, just advice to the non-spanish speaker but don’t let that stop you. a goodtime can still be had.

Also they have a couple of people outside offering to let you use their cell phones which is good if you don't see your ride you can call them without having to wonder to farfrom the airport. Before I visited Cali for the first time last year I read the boards to gather info on hotels close to the entertainment. I settled on Aparta Hotel del Rio and ended up very happy with the decision. The total bill was $320 bucks for 5 nights in a large junior suite. I had read about the potential chica fee, but me and my other two buddies were able to avoid it. RodeoTry not to monger by yourself, stay out of the bad areas, dress down, dont stick out, no drunk wandering and you SHOULD be okay,, In general not nearly as safe as Medellin.. im not so sure about Bogota but I heard Bogota like any other big city can get pretty shady. Cali as a whole is still the most dangerous of the main cities in Colombia though.. more unemployment and more poverty.

The only thing in Cali is to make sure you have some ID with you as there is a more milatary presense there than any other city I have been to in Colombia. The police also make ramdom stops on cars with more then two people inside.Well there's a reason there's more of a military presence in Cali.

Cali is for sure a "hotter" city than Medellin, and I don't mean the weather.

There is a huge police presence in Cali, so I did not have any concern about thugs, or kidnappings. Although the one thing about cali that is lousy is the cabs do not have any ID inside only the sticker on the door, also they all hide the radios so they do not get stolen, so it would be very easy to unknowingly accept a ride from a rouge cab, even if you are Colombian. I would not to carry too much money, or your passport around town.

The north is loosely defined as anything north of the rio. Your best bet is to just hire a good cab driver, many of the addresses on the cali list forum are out of date unfortunately. Everyone is laid back and they will not care if you are looking for hookers, Most will go out of the way to help you since mongering is almost a a national sport in Cali.

Actually, I was with a group of 22-25 year old Calenos when I went to Escoces and they told them there was a cover, and there was another group of Calenos waiting out front with one of them inside seeing if it was worth all of them paying the cover, so either you were the exception, their policies have changed, or you are just full of shit. Cali is still one of the rawest dangerous cities in Colombia besides Buenaventura, You really need to keep your guard up and keep a high level of "street smarts" Stay OUT of the bad areas, try to walk in lit areas, dont be flashy, travel in groups, CALL taxis, go to the ATM with armed guards. If you get a hooker and take her to your apartment, be careful MOST steal and you will be light a cologne, digital camera, ipod or something similar in the morning, I promise you. Get home and hide your shit or put all your shit away in the safe if you have one.

I am about to leave Cali, so I will give a brief summary of several aspects of my experiences/impressions of the city.

SECURITY/SAFETY:

The prevailing notion is that Cali is the most dangerous of the major cities of Colombia, and after my visit I cannot necessarily disagree with this for several reason. First, I saw MUCH LESS police/military presence in Cali than in Medellin. This leads me to believe that there is more opportunity for criminals to act. The other important thing to understand about Cali is that every neighborhood, north or south, is surrounded and intermingled with poverty. There is no exclusive zone that only rich people live and hangout where no poor people live/hang out. Barrio Granada (rich) is only 3 blocks from La Sexta (working class). However, it is important to note that I did not have a single problem with safety or security during my time in Cali and that, like almost anywhere else in Latin America, if you behave wisely nothing will ever happen to you. One thing is for sure, if you do not speak spanish, do not come to Cali, as just about nobody speaks English (as far as I could tell), as it is not even part of the curriculum in public schools.

There are definitely some amazingly beautiful women in Cali, very exotic looking, just about all of them with big fake tits. Chipichape is prime time Friday and Saturday nights for eye candy. I stuck to places in Barrio Granada and there were few groups of girls out looking to get picked up. I could live in Medellin, as it is more beautiful and has more to offer. However, to the experienced, spanish fluent, traveler/monger, Cali is an interesting experience, and worth a visit. It is not disneyland, however, and the "wal-mart" types who want the fratboy experience should not come to Cali, as Medellin would be a better choice for them.

SchwmmYou have to be "signed in" by a member, meaning he or she has to register your name in a book at the entrance and be responsible for you while you're there.

On the other hand, this is a very interesting point I've never seen discussed in this forum, regarding non-pros. Campestre is, in fact, the place where rich calenos and calenas go to on weekends. Defenitely you can find gorgeous, mostly light-skinned girls and women there, both around the pool on weekends and on the gym area on weekdays.

But there are also other sports oriented clubs, such as Canasgordas and Faralones, where the upper middle class people enjoy themselves playing golf and tennis or just sit around by the pool and eat or have a drink.

Colombia’S FARC Kills Three in Cali Bomb Attack,

Feb. 2 (Bloomberg).- Colombia’s biggest rebel group detonated a car bomb in Cali last night, killing three people and injuring 30 others, Caracol Radio reported.

The bomb, which was situated close to a police station in the center of Cali, Colombia’s third-biggest city, exploded at 10: 15 pm New York time and damaged surrounding buildings, the radio cited Mayor Jorge Ivan Ospina as saying. A man, thought by authorities to be involved in the attack, was killed by police after the attack, Caracol says.

President Alvaro Uribe accused the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia of being responsible for the attack, Caracol reported. On Jan. 28 the FARC exploded a bomb in Bogota, killing two people.

Cali was, up to the late seventies, a prosperous and promising city. In fact, Colombian economists once described the country as a "golden triangle" where Bogota, Cali and Medellin formed this shape and surrounded the coffe plantation areas (Eje Cafetero. Armenia, Pereira and Manizales).

Politicans and analysts were indeed optimistic with the progress of all three cities, while coffee was a rather expensive commodity and several corporations (Colgate/Palmolive, Gillette, Baxter, Johnson&Johnson) decided to build their factories in the north part of the city. There was even a US consulate in Cali, where visas were given out rather easily to rich locals travelling for pleasure and shopping in Miami.

But while Bogota kept its political importance as a capital and Medellin has had a couple of industrial renovations, Calenos couldn't keep up the pace and let their town lag.

With an ignorant, semi-feudal upper class (mainly dedicated to agriculture) in charge, and lots of impoverished middle and lower classes, it is just obvious that the "narcos" would, at one point or another, find fertile grounds for their activities. Easy money is always better than no money, even for honest people who really want to work.

And that's what you still have: a poor, dirty city, as you appropriately describe it, with lots of dirty money flowing underground, and feeding the wrong kind of role models: in terms of success, happiness and, of course, female beauty.

Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore. I scoped this area twice, once at about 10:00 am and then again about 5:00 pm. I would not go there alone after dark.

Take the bus to el centro, exit the bus around cll 15 or 13 and cr 8 or 9. Go to the corner of cll 19 cr 8 across the street at the corner you will see a security guard and a steel gated door. I walked the two blocks down to club sonero and really felt that I would not walk this two blocks again, mind you, this was about 6 pm on a Wednesday.

Cali isn’t easy to sum up. I am a walmart monger. I love the value of colombiandupid for GFE and the prepagos. But the street action and the el centro action in every colombian city ignites my adrenaline. If you go, you will find what you seek. But don’t say, I didn’t warn you.

General observations of Cali. Big city, compares more to Bogota for size. Women have lots of flavor. I love the flavor. I would spend the days walking or taking the bus going to various casas and just about every day I was pulling a non pro for drinks, Some played out, most didn’t. No complaints, buying beers, having a date with a local chica learning the customs. Cali has value, you just have to dig a little deeper. I discovered La Viente about 3 years ago and still go there on Sundays after 3pm since it's the only good daytime place to visit on a Sunday. It really gets crowded when there are soccer tournaments going on.

Many of the girls live on premise because they are from different parts of the country. The nice thing is that there is no bar fine if you negotiate to take them out. Going any earlier than 3 to 4pm is a waste of time because the not so great looking women are the only ones around before that time and it will give you the wrong impression of the bars better offerings and you might leave. In my opinion (and it is definitely a minority opinion) I think Barranquilla has the most beautiful women in Colombia. Cali is a close second. I have to start out my thanking Cubanut for introducing us to Castle Cali.

Although the accommodations are not quite up to to what you have at the Medellin Mansion. However, Juan Carlos and his staff made our stay very comfortable and were extremely helpful. He personally came to the airport to pick Chuck and I up. Taking Us right to the castle. Seeing Us get settled in and then off we went to visit some of the many Casas and Massage Parlors Cali has to offer. In MHO Cali is no Medellin as far as it's landscapes. Again, if you are there to monger this is something else. There are definitely many more places to find girls. The prices were better than Medellin and the talent every bit as good. Unfortunately we picked a Holiday weekend to go and thus lost a day of mongering.

I would definitely recommend Cali as an alternative to Medellin for our sport. I met this girl who did things to me that I never experienced in my entire sexual life. I will definitely go back and see her. Her name is Angelica and she works at Farrons. Spent two nights with her.

Has nice apartments for about $ 100 a night, in a safe area, but one can find a nice aprtment for $ 50-60 a night if one knows who to contact. The flip side is that there is a a few guys (arthur brode and www.sotb.com) that ctare to gringos. I am paying $ 55 a night for a 3 bedroom 3 bath apartment one block from Chippichappe next month. I would have prefered something near the south, but it is impossible to find.

A night's stay in a hotel room at Cali Plaza is $60 (including taxes). One night in a one bedroom apartment is $80. Yeah, you're spending a little more, but it's clean, with a decent reputation and management, and you get some helpful conveniences, such as WiFi and a cell phone to use.

I think the two bedroom apartment is probably around $100. Yeah, seems a little high for Cali, but I don't think it's in the "rip-off" category.

My hunch is that this is another one of those issues where there really isn't a right or wrong, or where one is better than the other. Instead, probably more about one's personal likes, dislikes, preferences, etc.

I've been exposed to an inordinate number of gringos in Colombia who spend more time going-on (belligerently) about how they are paying less than the next guy for something (no matter how insignificant), etc, than they do spending time layin' the pipe to the chicas.

I believe you've somehow mis-comprehended my post as being directed to you. If so, you are mistaken.

As my original post stated, people have different likes and dislikes. Different preferences, etc. There isn't a right or wrong or an I'm better than the next guy in whether you pay $50 a night or $100 night.

For a change, news on some girls most of you might find interesting. This week in Cali I got (solid) notice that some of the famous website LP girls are the same working girls featured in some of the aforementioned webpages.

Even though they are shown charging up to a million COP for evening service, apparently these prices are only for suckers.

Both extremes ("ccs" and suckers) are, I believe, gross to the healthy sportsman, who is generally able to get this upscale material at much more convenient prices.
On the other hand, Cali seems to be pretty much dead these days, due to religious festivities (semana santa). Most bars are closed, and streets and restaurants are quite empty.

Sat down music went on and they brought out each girl one by one. Maybe 12 to choose from. Most we not good enough to consider and a few not sure if anybody would ever do them. However, there were 4 to consider. The first two were by far the best. Kinda wish I picked the first girl but I went for the second, her name was Vanessa.

After burning up in the 90 degree heat for 7 days in the heart of summer in long pants while the Porteño after Porteño walked by in shorts, I learned not to believe what I read on general travel websites.

This is a four bar club/bar area with names like Club Social la 15, Club Bar 33, El Son de Las Munecas, and Vanidades Lindas Chicas. If you need to give an address to a taxi driver use Cr 15 No. 33F-17. You can also take a bus from any where on Cr 15, Just ask the driver if he is going "toda la quince, hasta cll 33. " The clubs open at 6 pm until 1 pm, club bar la 33 is open on Sundays and Holidays, I would imagine the others are also open. There is a local short time hotel on the same block.

Chicas; There were 10 chicas in one bar and 4 or 5 in the others. I went at 630 pm and stayed a couple hours. The girls told me it gets full later in the night. There was security in all the bars, but the only black security guard from Munecas came up to me while I was drinking a beer and as he bent over me trying to intimidate me asked/suggested that I should buy him a beer. I started laughing and told him I would buy him one immediately after he bought me one. He eventually left. I did not buy him a beer.

Prices for the chicas ranged from 30 cop to 50 cop for a short time, some asked an extra 10 for the room, others told me it was included. Everything was available subject to negotiation. Girls ranged from 2's to 7's, fat slim, 19ish to 30ish. I would imagine these places hop later in the night as the locals get blasted and watch the girls. I prefer to open these type places rather than close them. Taxis and buses available right out front as Cr 15 is a major street. Strip tease/dancing may or may not happen depending on the girls and the management.

Sorry guys, shorts are not that common in Colombia and are seen as suitable only at the coastline and in areas with subtropic climate. In the interior it can happen to you that they don't let you in restaurants, bars, etc. Seen that personally in Bucaramanga, where they request trousers from their guests. In colder areas, such as Bogota, obviously you won't find these advice.

Don't dump your girl, Colombians put more attention to dress well. It is a good sign from her!

I really enjoyed Cali alot more than BOG. Warmer weather and much friendlier people and much more approachable non-pro chicas. Having met more than a few in BOG, I knew that Calenas were beautiful, but I was just floored by the extreme beauty and bodies of the average Calena just walking down the street. I did alot more partying and cultural intermingling than hobbying, but I was very happy with the limited play that I did engage in. I worked on learning how to salsa estillo Colombiano, because the Puerto Rican style I know is worthless in Cali. I even liked the Blanco del Valle Aguardiente better than the aguardiente in BOG. I also noticed fewer shading characters and potential ladrones hanging around than in BOG. I admit I stayed in a more limited area in Cali than BOG, but I personally felt safer in Cali. Obviously, Cali is still a very dangerous city and everyone should tengan cuidado. I just got back to the states and I'll follow up with a full report.

BTW. Thanks for the advice on shorts. Virtually, no one, not even children wear them in Cali. My brother and one of my best friends did our first day in Cali and they never did again.

A lot of these TVs and gamines are wacked out on glue and other dirt-cheap drugs. For the urchins, the drugs dull the pain of hunger; but these addicts can be very dangerous, many have debased to a level that they have almost no respect for life, neither theirs or yours! Barely above animal functionality. Sad, but also potentially very scary and dangerous if their little groups can entrap you. . .

I was walking around the this area looking for Apolo's and rang the bell on the address and some old pisser comes down the stairs and I ask him if this is a casa de mujeres. He gets an attitude and tells me no.

So I walk back to the corner and I am going over the list and my notes discreetly and I see a fine young lady with a very loose fitting, low hung wrap around blouse just barely covering her ample breasts. Everyone is introduced real informal and I look around and the beer tops and cig butts on the floor and the dancing pool. Did I mention this really isn't a casino?

You can't be shy in these places, so I told everyone what I wanted and offered 40k for 30 minutes for two girls and selected a cute 18 yr old and the even cuter 19 yr old that I had followed in.

Great session, great attitude, filthy rooms, and when I left the girls warned me to be careful because of the thieves in the area. When I was walking out there were 3 or 4 men who had entered and were drinking beers with the other girls.

The 19 yr old told me that at about 4 or 5 in the evening there are 15 or so ladies. I always take that with a grain of salt because it is up to the individual girl if she wants to go to work.

I will go back, but, if you need warnings on your condoms that looking for excitement in Colombia can be dangerous, then I suggest you stay in your family friendly areas.

I landed on 5-21-09 at 7pm. The regular immigration and custom crap and I am out. I always stay at ApartaHotel Del Rio. Ave 2N 21N-05. P$ 109, 000 (US$ 49) for 1 person. Jr. Suite. They provide breakfast and free wi-fi. They will provide transpation if you need for 35k [$15] guys pick you up outside the hotel name is Victor good guy and can provide you with company he has a phone filled with chicas waiting.

I signed in and rush to la Clinica del amor (Av. 2Norte #23N23) which is down the block before they closed at 9 pm. I pick a very nice 19 yr old with huge natural breast. They charged me 45K [$20] for an hour. Stats of girl was face 7, body 7 and session 5. She was nothing to write home about but it was good to let two loose after a long flight.

Calle 23AN 2N-95 is a decent casa to visit and I went there every day except for Sunday. I had down spots as I was stuck in the hotel with my Cali girlfriend and there was no need to leave anyways. When my girl went to take care of time or visit her mom I hit the street like a mad man. I went to Clinica Amor but the lineup was very weak but for 35K ½ hr. I took a VERY petite chica by the name of Erica she has a slight over bite but honey got suck an apple through a straw excellent oral service, I could of enjoy her skills for the entire session but I had to sample that pretty little frame. Rating face 5, body 6, session 8 . I hope she is in town when I get back to Cali.

I went to flora fresca to see the show and check out the line up its was still good to me. DevoDevoman I have not had any trouble in my visits to Cali but the last time I posted a trip report some member eat my alive. They told me that I was sending people to Cali to get killed. Therefore I post a warning to all that Cali is not Disney world that danger is around every corner.

Ask a taxi driver from that area where they are because they’re not very easy to find. Everything was cheap. I believe 40 mil for 30 minutes. Some women were ok. Very festive atmosphere when I went (Sat night). If you want a fun night for 100 mil total or less, these are good places to go.

Day spots – I didn’t check any of them out this trip.

No smoking in any bars/restaurants in Colombia. Pretty extreme change from a year ago. I’m mostly for it (even though I have a cig or two when I drink), but the only problem is most clubs are not set-up to allow you to go outside for a smoke. Frescas is on the 3rd floor with no balconies. Escoces outside smoking area is on a main street, not the best location if you don’t want to be seen.

I saw a television documentary in Colombia on how prostitution was drawing bad foreigners to Colombia and Colombians should wake-up and do something. I’ve heard comments like that from Colombians who don’t know I monger.

Why doesn’t Cali have a US type strip club? Someone should buy Frescas (I was told they are close to going under) and make it a strip club.

Let's not all get paranoid people.

First of all, all this talk about a foreigner invasion setting up monger-friendly shops is not really the case. There's LDV in Cartagena which is owned by an Italian (not the stereotypical U.S. monger!); and the Mansion is co-owned by an Aussie and I can't remember who else but I believe they're of mixed Colombian and U.S. heritage, so again it's not just a "gringo thing." And those two venues have been around awhile already.

There's a few other spots in Medellin but either they are not monger-oriented (Executivo Hotel, & Colombian Sweathearts which may have some prepagas snuck in the roster but is basically just a dating service) or they seem to have stayed low profile and don't attract that much business/attention anymore (Club VIP sold one of their locations).

Even the Mansion is supposedly more low-profile now.

And all the expat-owned hostels out there are for backpackers, not at all your monger type clientele. Many of the backpackers pursue and date the locals, and might even hit the monger venues but there's little overlap between the monger and backpacker world; anyway, the local media has shown little interest or sense of threat from the hostel scene which is STILL BIGGER than the monger scene.

As for Cali, the expat scene remains small. A couple of hostels. The owner of the monger-friendly Cali Plaza is a gringo, but it's not just a monger hotel, I've even seen entire families stay over. The new Cali Castle is to the best of my knowledge owned by a Colombian-American; again, not a 100% stereotypical blond-hair blue-eyed gringo.

Also, if I remember correctly, W. Mora wasn't just a gringo or a "pimp." He was actually I believe Colombian-American as well, and had been living for many many years already in Cali. Enough time to have gotten involved with some shady or flaky local "businessmen" which is usually where expats eventually get into trouble.

Sooner or later, and especially sooner what with the economic/financial crises, someone screws up or flakes out and loses/owes a large sum of money, pissing off the wrong people.

The expat business-owner invariably gets most of the blame and ends up skipping town or with a bullet in his head if he delays. That's true in Colombia but also in many other parts of the developing (and developed!) world where expats and foreigners try to do business.

That's NOT to say that Mora deserved his fate, but the dangers that the average gringo monger faces is probably just robbery from his chica or a street punk, he's not there long enough to get blackmailed or extorted or scammed out of his business/money.

I think most people are not too concerned about the gringo corrupting the "sanctity" of the colombiana, lol! :) But I do agree about keeping a low-profile although in Cartagena, it doesn't matter because it's a tourist trap even for the Colombians.

Even in today's economy, you can still have fun. Just keep a low profile and don't stay anywhere too fancy in Cali or bring a lot of valuables, just some daily cash and an old or second-hand laptop will do you just fine.

In fact, I would say today's world economic situation is bringing a fresh new supply of women into the P4P arena, so there's opportunity for mongers who are still employed and have some cash. ;)

Looking at the websites you provided you will be grossley overpaying. I can not post pics of some of the girls because they would not want me to but I can tell you they are gorgeous women (20. 25 yrs). If you can speak the language and have a good sense of humor/personality you should do fine without an agency.

Best places to go are some of the casas like Dr. Amor if you see something you like, talk to her and tell her your intentions. Hi, I stay and work near the Avenida Sexta Norte. It's been a wonderful place for everything. Eat, Drinks, Dance, Watching soccer, Mongering. Wow great place to stay in Cali I suppose.

There are lot of street walkers (girls, eununchs) in the Streets. Right from Calle 16 to Calle 25. More in the dark places and near the traffic signals.

Girls in Lo Maximo are great and they have good attitudes. But I do not find better girls in Club Social. The girls in Club Social grab you before you grab them.

The street walkers charge around 30K-50K for one hour before 2 am. On one Saturday night at 3 am I had one girl for 50K for three hours to my apartment. Had a pretty good service including Anal.

But I have a doubt about how safe is to take those girls. Will they have their medical checkups done frequently or better to avoid them?

Flores Frescas: .

I went there on Wednesday night. We got there around 10:00pm, the bouncer told us the sex show will start at 10: 30pm to lure us in. The fucker lied, we went in there. I expected this place to be nice but it wasn't, it was an old casa/strip club. We went up stairs and went to the room, there was a stage and a dancer pole. We sat down and the girls came and introduce themselves to us. Yes Flores Frescas does have some hot ass girls! The talent was awesome! So many hot girls I didn't know who to pick? !

A lot of people say the girls at flores fresco have attitudes, I can see where they are coming from.

The girls won't come and talk to you at all. You have to do the approaching and go talk to them! There were about 7 guys and 20 girls that night. We expected the show to start at 10: 30, but the show but didn't starts till 12:00am according to the one of the girls. None of the girls were socializing with the guys at all. As far as the looks of the girls is concern, I saw about 5 girls out of 30 that met up to my standards. One girl name Gloria caught my attention, who was curvy, with a nice big ass, nice tits. This is a day place, it opens from 10am-9pm. It's by the far the nicest and cleanest place I been to in Cali. It was on a Friday around 5pm when we went to Dr. Amor. There were a lot of dudes there, about 15 guys. What do I expect? Friday at 5pm? Guys are getting off work and they are horny. There were about 15 girls, they all came up to us and introduce themselves. Some had a orange wrist band, 1 had red wrist band, the others didn't. The red wrist band is a minimum of 1 hour and they are usually the hotter ones with the best body. The red wrist band cost around 70K for 1 hour? At first, I was very hesitant on going to Cali, When one of my latino buddy who speaks fluent Spanish back out from the trip. I talk to Juan about my situation and he took care of me. Either his son, business partner, or his translator shows us around the town. Not many people in Cali can speak English, so I highly recommend to go there with a person who is local or someone who speaks fluent Spanish. It is very hot and it is little humid but not as bad as New York humidity.

Use common sense! Stay sober. Don't drink to the point where you don't remember anything, it will make you a target, be respectful to the locals, you're the guest in their home country, if you need to take a taxi, call the cab company to pick you up, I wore jewelry around the town and I felt fine. I only took it off and hid it my pocket when I felt like I was walking in a shady area. Don't carry too much money, if you do, put most of your cash your under the soles in your shoes. I suggest walk around with at least 1 other person. Cali does not have many foreigners. I only remember seeing 2 gringos around. If you are Asian or look Asian, expect the people to call you Chino and get a lot of stares. I felt like a rock star! =)

I want to thank the people on the ISG board who have given me advice via email. You know who you are! If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't be writing this report and went to Cali.

I was at Juan Carlos's place the week before. Too bad our schedules were not in sinc.

I think it was $50, 000 pesos for 1/2 hour cause my buddy surprised me and paid for my session and told me to hit the bricks with the girl so I didn't ask. And yes the other girls were sub par but they seemed to please the locals that were there. Only down side is they only sell Poker beer and hard booze. I hate Poker and I don't drink the hard stuff.

Las Profesionales I have only tried once. And that was 2 years ago. At the time the blond you mentioned was in Europe. The real madam (and older lady) who runs the business showed up with the book. I chose a gal at $150, 000 and she was prompt and very professional but did give good animated GFE. So I too would recommend their service and you are right, SPLURGE at least once and get a kick ass model. I will do so the next time I use their service.

Praga is pretty cool and seems to be Cali's version of Mango's albeit quite smaller and less or no real fanfare. What I do like is there are actual dance floors to dance (upper & lower) unlike at Mango's. But it seems like it is the place to be. Cool that you were fortuanate to hit it on the night of the Best Ass Contest. Can't beat that! I've been to Praga's only twice, I like the place but there are so many venues in Cali that it is hard to keep coming back. I often do not go Mango's on my visits to Medellin either.

All in all sounds like you had a great time in Cali as I did as well the week before. Again thanks for the report.
