Please be carefull when you use taxis they can be dangerous. Last trip I had bad experience. I tipped him 4 col because he came at 5:00AM as asked and was pleasent he talks a lot and can answer your questions.

Please dont over pay this is a good deal for both parties. He lives in the north side so it might be cheaper for you 6 ave guys.

Jags, all over colombia you can find such places. Colombia is "dirty" cheap !!! No need to think usa pricings !!! Think Colombian. The minimum wage in Colombia is now just over 400.000 Pesos a month. That's converted to US dollars even not US $ 200 / month. So why Pay 75 - 100 $ a day for a bed and breackfast ? You do NOT pay a toygirl 250.000 Pesos to get laid. that's a "fact" in Colombia. Do you think Colombian man pay that kind of money ?
Think Colombian and your dollar will bring you much further then you can imagine !!!
So when you cannot settle for 40 US / night for a rental (and yes also for a hotel), move to the next that is willing to accept it.

All: Prices are rising, the IVA (sales tax) is now 16% and the American peso only buys 2200 Colombian pesos nowadays. Taxis from airport want at least 38K (about $17) to town (I have local friends to pick me but wanted to pass on this outrage). Colombia is no bargain anymore, although Cali is certainly cheaper than Cartagena (where 100K has become the benchmark for a few hours).

Here's a couple of raw facts about the city that you may want to factor in.

Cali is good for its women, and bad for its men. And from these women, only the declared *****s are worth your attention. 95% of so-called girlfriends are mostly gold-diggers that use you (Ricker I truly hope your girl to be within the other 5%). if you come to Cali for 2 weeks to get a girlfriend in here, forget about it. I know its la Semana Santa, and everything is closed today. But, a friend and I are here in the city, and would like to know of anything to do today other than el casino hollywood at chipichate LOL.

IMHO ... both cities have absolutely beautiful women ... like you said, Medellin having, in general, the lighter complexion chicas ... Well, it's been more than a week since my Cali trip. I spent a little more than two weeks there. This was my third trip to Colombia, having been to MDE and CTG on previous trips. I was off to an inauspicious start as my traveling partner bailed out on me 2 nights before the trip began, so it became a solo mission. The vast majority of visitors to Laguito are still Colombians. I manage to find many more non- or semi-pros who would never go to LDV than I can handle. And I'm a fat, old guy. I do like to hang out and speak English on occasion though. My Spanish still sucks.

I'd weigh in with Tom 33 on this one. I don't think I've run across a single resident of Cartagena, except Mery and Sally, who's wanted to speak more than 5 words of English with me. And I don't see that many mongers in Cartagena outside of LDV. But I'm not that good at differentiating the Italians and the Israelis. A female friend of mine, a dark-skinned good girl, did tell me that people seeing us walk together would probably think she's a hooker. And I do think it's getting a little harder in Cartagena versus the first time I went to date good girls, because of mongers like me dating putas.

I'm not sure about the extranjeros reducing chances for GFE. I do think sometime when you're the first or second a working girl has been with it enhances the experience. But the locals don't have the purchasing power we do so often the brothels are geared for the wham-bam-thank-you ma'am type experience. Surfer, an example we both could relate too might be Blok M vs. Jalan Manga Besar area -- your chances of GFE are higher in the area catering to the extranjeros. Although I guess places like San Jose, Costa Rica would be a good example for the other side of the coin.

My feeling is that I have gotten so much benefit out of this board. It's good to put something back in.

I was introduced to the German FKK's through this forum. I'd been living a few hours away and never knew about these places. I would never have come to Colombia if it weren't for some of the photos people posted and the good reports. As an ongoing benefit, I continue to meet many cool people through the forum, which enhances my vacation.

I think there's a limit to how quickly Colombia can change, though. There are high barriers to entry in Colombia for a monger. Most people never even consider coming, because of the ongoing armed conflict. Then there is the language issue. Most folks will never become proficient in Spanish and Colombian customs, so they remain confined to the gringo ghettos.

Second time around in Colombia, I was expecting not to like LDV. I have to say, it was one of the mongering highlights. I really like the GFE from there. The experience is so much more when you can buy a bottle, dance with your girl, then take her back for a few unhurried hours at the apartment.

That said, I am not exactly spreading the word on the Brazil boards about how great I think Colombia is. But I think it can't hurt to give some guidance about how to do a place well, and what amounts are reasonable to pay.

There are just too many gringos in Cali now. This is one reason I left Cali. All my reasons are the following:

1) I have a good girlfriend now, so why tap into the only positive resource that Cali has working for it (its women - professional that is since finding a non-pro in Cali is pretty difficult to say the least).
2) People traveling to Cali go there for one or many of the following reasons (fuck till they drop - OK, and/or using the white stuff - UNACCEPTABLE, and/or find and use kids - UNACCEPTABLE). Mongering should be ONE thing you do while traveling, not the purpose of a trip as much as possible. There is more to discover than women in each country, and there is more to discover about yourself than the sense of manhood that you get from using a woman in exchange of your money. Be a little more curious about things and maybe we can all display more humanity and not bore the observer to death by our own simplicity.
3) Cali looks like a dump and a war zone, and gets worse over time. Cali's traffic problems are unsustainable.
4) Although Cali's women are great to bang once in a while, the Caleños are scumbags that do not have any culture other than the culture of violence - even worse, they enjoy violence, but would never come to you and fix their deed one to one and unarmed, they prefer sending an armed stranger to fix their mess (how coward they are is behond my vocabulary). Living in Cali means that you need to deal with these people, and that is not easy.
5) My ex-wife is there and she is surrounded by too many Caleños to even think that threatening people is not normal (and God knows what else there is in her pea-brain). so getting away is better.

Visit Cali, enjoy its women, but do some real tourism. Do not get into a ghetto life of fucking. Get out once in a while and smell the fresh air. Too many gringos under these conditions would not be a big deal, but this is not what I've seen there over the years and it really got to the point where I got bored by it.

I just came back from Pereira (santa rosa de cabal to e exact) from 5 days of vacation. Couldn't have chance to mongering and meet antifreeze (no contact info). All in all, it was okay. I kinda depressed how the family lives in santa rosa though (the girl I met in PTY).

OK, I sacrificed myself this weekend and went to grab asses and addresses in Pereira. I know that the Cali section may not be the best place to put this report, but there's no Pereira section (could someone open one for me please).

Overall, I'd say that Pereira is pretty good. Contrary to my initial thoughts some places are open during the day, but most of the fun is at night. Girls are of better quality than what I've seen in Cali, but mongering is also more expensive than Cali (that is the big surprise).

Here it goes.

Top place for quality and choice of women plus ambiance:

- Flores Frescas (in Pereira). About 25 girls when I've been there (6 to 9 for their looks). The place is clean, good music, etc... The downside: as soon as you get in, you are seated and are "ordered" to order a dring. Cheapest drink available is about $40 000 (pretty steep) - no beer available. Calle 26 No 6-15, phone 336-8082 or 333-2125. Getting a girl upstairs will cost you a minimum of 80 000 for the half hour and I got mine for 110 000 for the hour. Adding the dring over that will mean a pretty expensive night in town...

- Star club. Comparable to the San-Diego strip club from Medellin. Could be a good place to hang out with a buddy and sip an inexpensive beer to get started during the night. Cra 13 #19-48 (frente del parque Olaya). Phone 335-6499.

- Amstel discoteca. This is a discotheque with plenty of working girls. Good quality of women. Cra 35 #10-11. Phone 326-4554.

- La whiskeria. This place is downtown. Also pretty good quality. Service is 40 000 + 20 000 for the room. It's open from 8PM to 2AM. Avenida del ferrocarril #13-43. Phone 334-6812.

- La barra. This is a pub with girls serving in bikini. Whoever you like you can get a show from or go to the room for the deed. Good concept. Cra 10 #20-21. Phone 335-3881.

- Pirineos Club. Good casa (next to the DTK "casa D" piedra). Service goes for around 80 000 for the hour. When I've been there, there was about 12 women (7 to 9). Calle 35 #5B-12. Phone 336-5128, cel: 316-420-4424. They also do domicilios (girl comes to your place).

- DTK "casa D" piedra (next to Pirineos club). Service goes for about the same price (80 000 for the hour). Also good choice. About 15 women when I've been there. Cra 5Bis No 35B - 10. Domicilio (24 horas). Phone 326-6738 or 311-301-7392.

if you have $$$ to burn, I'd stay at Casa de Alferez. I like the Torre de Cali (run by Spanish group GHL Hoteles), one block from the Sheraton and half the price (plus no guest fees!). InterC is where the clients of the marriage agencies and other clueless newbies stay. If you speak no Spanish, then maybe you'll feel comfortable at the InterC.

ThanksThere is a lake north of Cali, called Lake Calima, about 2 hours drive. If you call any major hotel/travel agency, they will be able to help you with transportation. I was quoted last year for 60k pesos for round trip with private driver from Hotel casa del alfrez, but end up calling a friend of my lady. Some tips I can give you are: take a jacket as it gets cool during evening time. there are hotels/motels/bad-breakfast places you can stay for the night if you like. Plan on leaving early in the morning from Cali as sun set comes early as 6pm. It's safe as long as you go there with a colombian whom you know and trust (as it has been with all Colombians I have known).

This place is safe area anyway.

I was just in Cali a few days ago and made my usual stop at the declining Flores Frescas. I would say the last 5 times I visited, I was more disappointed each time. My last visit was unreal. The cover charge (15 mil) and high drink charges were always way too high for Cali, but I put up with it before because there were always some sweet and beautiful women hanging around.
Now, the price for one hour with a girl in the room is 190 mil AND, this is the worst part, 4 out of 5 of the girls lied about this and asked for 240 mil. When I confronted them on this price, several got really nasty with me and stormed away. When I told Fabio, the honest and helpful waiter, he was furious with the women and got the manager. He asked me to repeat my story to him. When I did, I knew two things, 1. some of these women were in some trouble, 2. I probably would not be able to return, even if I wanted, for a very long time. The women remember things like this for a long time.

A previous poster commented on the Colombian women not liking cheap men and I find this to be very true for the working women. Well, I guess logically all working women don't like cheap men due to the nature of their business, but the Colombian are not shy about letting you know. BTW, the one girl who quoted the correct price was one of the best looking ones: Bridgette.

Anyway, if you do go to Flores Frescas, be very careful about what you pay and who you go with. Many of these girls are long-time pros who don't give a crap about you and will try to milk you out of every penny you have.

I was in Colombia just about 2 weeks ago and went to Flores Frescas because it was near my hotel. I agree that it is definetly over price for Cali
and would probably not return unless I was short on time and it was close by.

I've never had any luck at Club Escoces, but I don't think there's a cover, so it wouldn't hurt to stop by for a drink.

If you're flying into Cali, I'd recommend hitting an ATM at the airport. It's probably one of the safest places to get cash at night. Exit the baggage claim area and go outside, then head to the right and you'll see a large staircase going up. There are several ATM's at that level.

Hi, guys.

I arrived in Cali yesterday night. After a time consuming process at the airport (20 min immigration, 20 min baggage claim, 10 min Customs search), I met Víctor, the taxi driver assigned by my hotel (Apartahotel Del Rio).

I expect to write a longer description of the city tomorrow. So far, I can say that Cali ressembles a mixture of the outskirts of Buenos Aies and northern Argentina: Disorganized, dirty, smogy, with a lot of police presence and a mountain-city arrangement but laid-back and attractive in some way. Zona Norte looks like a middle-class suburb of Buenos Aires.

Apartahotel Del Rio is OK so far (www.apartahoteldelrio.com). The basic room costs me COP 95K (roughly USD 1 = COP 2.6K), and has decent furniture (nothing to rave about) and appliances. Personnel was very helpful. They helped me arrange a cell phone rental with Víctor, which costs me COP 10K per day. Maybe I can find cheaper nearby, but it´s OK for me.

Bed is OK, good enough for me but maybe not for those Searly Posturpedic freaks. The bathroom was renovated, although it only has a shower bud (no way to regulate the water temp before taking the shower).

The only serious drawback for the hotel is the street noise, and I was told that the transportation works forced traffic to pass across that corner in order to cross the Cali river. I coped with it buying today earplugs, because there were no other basic rooms available facing the back street.

The other alternative that I considered was Cora Apartasuites (www.coraapartasuites.com), which costed roughly the same and is located in a more upscale and quiet neighborhood, but... no air conditioning for the basic rooms.

On to the action.

I was very enthousiasted to visit the clubs after months reading this forum. I started with Club Escocés, taking a cab to drive me to the Intercontinental (COP 4K). Since the Cali sheet says "Avenida Colombia and Calle 7A", I looked for 7A street, but I couldn´t find it. I walked around and asked for it, but no luck. Being close to 11PM, I decided to move on and visited the club next to Faraon (Avenida 2N 23N-65).

No price to enter and only COP 2K the soda. To my dismay, I found the 7-10 girls there on the 4-7 range, being the 7 a very nice blonde who I expect to visit later during the week. Most girls looked like the low tier of the boliches at Flores in Buenos Aires, either being too much uneducated, too pushy, big bellied or plainful ugly. Just for the info, I was told that prices for girls are COP 40K for 30 min and COP 50 K for the hour. Closes at 2 AM.

Left the place to go to next-door Faraon. Although having a better setup, girls were even uglier than before, with a total crew of 12-15! COP 3K the soda.

Close to midnight, I wondered if Cali was such a dump in terms of chicas quality. To confirm so, I decided to visit the infamous Flores Frescas. COP 15K the entrance, not including drinks. From the outside, it looks pretty lame, and not much better on the inside. COP 2K the soda. However, girls were several notches above the others, but not much better than what you would will find at Madahos in BA, and unfortunately with similar attitudes. I would say that all girls were doable (20 or so, most wearing street outfits with jeans, high heels and tops), but prices quoted for me were COP 150K for 30 min and COP 240K for 1 hour, so nothing to be taken very lightly.

I saw 2 very nice ladies who I wanted to talk. While deciding, a bombshell appeared. She is a 20 y/o brunette called Natalia. Has very big boobs, cute face, a nice formed butt and an hourglass figure. Only drawback is that she weares brakes.

Yesterday, I visited other areas of Cali, some of them very nice and others very sketchy. Since there are many neighborhoods to visit, I cannot judge it very seriously. However, from the start it is clear that in average the city is poor and with not many options in terms of entertainment related to arts and in terms of turism. Not a place to live long term.

For those who went to Costa Rica, most of Cali looks like downtown San José, with few areas ressembling Escazú. Cars are parked everywhere, ofter on the sidewalks, houses and buildings are completely fenced (I didn´t see many windows without bars) and police officers bear machine guns in front of every institution that may hold money.

In terms of transportation, the city looks like Santiago de Chile. Lots of small buses painted with colours, wreaking havoc at any hour on the main arteries. Since its a valley surrounded by mountains, the city also has much smog as Santiago. Even with a clear sky it is difficult to see the whole city on the high points. As in most of Latin America, traffic is chaotic and noisy, not to mention reckless drivers.

Of course, not all areas are that bad. Granada, on the north of the city, is way much cleaner and looks like Palermo Hollywood in Buenos Aires, with lots of trendy restaurants, fashion stores and art shops. On the other hand, la olla de Cali, close to downtown (Carrera 10 to 15) are definitely to avoid.

ChipiChape and Unicentro.

Yesterday, I went to these malls to check out the girls. Perhaps it was a bad day, or perhaps I´m too picky, but I didn´t see many gorgeous girls. Let´s say 20 very attractive girls in Chipi and 10 in Unicentro, half of them in couples. There were a few sweeties going on two (two girls alone, I mean), and half a dozen average girls strolling the mall alone, which I deemed approachable (some look at you, in fact).

You are right, Ricker. it´s too much money. However, I don´t mind to overpay very seldom if the situation forces me to do so.

If I had been very familiar with Cali before coming, I would have dared to stroll for SW the very first day of my arrival or go for the good clubs, but I didn´t want to take the risk, even asking taxistas who usually aren´t very much concerned about your security as they are with the commissions they may get.

Overpayment should be a very important concern of us, but security comes first, especially if it is your first trip to Colombia. Now I know what La Sexta looks like and would dare to look for pussy there.

Hi, guys.

Third day was spent with non-pro action. I knew this girl through the latin Match.com. Without any doubt, she is very hot, very smart and has a strong personality. - Clínica del Doctor Amor. It is located at Avenida 2N #23-XX. It is the house next to the corner with a parking lot with green fabrics covering the fence (actually, the parking lot belongs to them). Inside, I saw a patio with 6-8 sofas where guys waited for the girls. They introduced themselves with a handshake. As of the owners, there were 15 girls. I saw 10-12, so the number is believable. Most of them I think are 4-7s, kind of good Dolly's material in BA. Didn't ask for prices and left. Open until 8 PM. So far, as a places as a whole, it was the best.

- Avenida 2Bis N #28-57: Advertised at the Sunday edition of El Pais. Another dump, with only very young 3 girls, of which one may be a 6-7. Left immediately.

- Calle 23AN #2N-95: This place, also advertised at El Pais, looked much cleaner and professional than the previous ones. They showed me 6 girls, most between 5-7 from my scale. One of the 7s is Cristal, a tall paisa girl with OK body and very nice face. I chose her, prices being COP 35K for 30 minutes and COP 45 for 1 hour.

In case that you need a map of Cali, you will be told to go to a branch of Librería Nacional. There, you will find a very basic and untreated (non-plastified) map of not very good quality for COP 18K. Too much, I think.

Today, I found many street vendors in Downtown's Plaza Caicedo selling similar maps for COP 3K.

Yes, I agree with your assessment of Cali.

The cheap end of the market is very well represented with the different casas and SWs. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a girl that really does it for you, but rarely would she be classy or the complete package. And the facilities of these places are basic.

The high-end places are not so great, you pay premium prices and often get a girl with a not so great attitude.

If you want a medium priced experience with a great looking girl, this is hard to find in Cali. Yesterday night, by 10:30 PM, I finally arrived to this club.

The place looks like Catto's in BA, with tables being replaced by horseshoe-shaped couches around round tables. Dark inside, but not very much.

There were 15 girls, most of them doable, ranking from 5 to 8, all of them in underwear or tiny clothes. A couple of caleñas approached me and, since they were very charming, I invited them with ron (COP 13K each) while I ordered a soda (COP 5K). We had a nice time talking about many things. I found out that my bad luck with ChipiChape was due to an event at Downtown the same day that dragged these girls. Maybe next weekend returns to norma, but I doubt so because it is a "puente" (3-day weekend).

Prices for inhouse: COP 125K for 30 min and COP 240K for 1 hour.

As for a night-time establishment, it looks like much better than Flores Frescas, although FF has just a little bit better quality in terms of girls (not very much). However, as a chica pointed out, you can see what you get in Escocés, while in FF they hide their flaws beneath the clothes.

Hi, guys.

Even though I'm devoting my trip to non-pro action and tourism, I found some time to visit some casas. I did 3 of them yesterday:

- Calle 13A #17-32: Located in the 2nd floor of a house, this place is a dump. 7 dark skinned, unmotivated and unattractive girls greeted me, while the madame told me the price (COP 13K for massage, additionals being arranged with the girl). Left immediately.

- Carrera 17 #4A-16: Located very close to the Loma de la Cruz handcraft alley, this place was just a notch better in terms of girls, but anyway didn't convinced me because of their attitude (their handshake feels like a wet cloth).

- Carrera 50 #10-XX: Much better place, with girls looking close to acceptable. Unfortunately, they also looked unmotivated.

After some research, I found the casas scene in Cali very "hit or miss". I believe it is useful for those who live there and can devote a lot of time finding where are the good ones, but not for short-term stays.

My advise is to go directly to the night clubs such as Club Escocés, of which you only have a handful in Cali.

I just returned from a two and a half week trip to Cali. This was my second trip to Cali, so I had a better sense of familiarity with the city. I had some phone numbers of internet amigas, and also of chicas from my previous trip in April that I had either dated, banged or just met and not yet followed through with. I visited Blues Brothers on Thursday, Changó (a Juanchito disco) on Friday and another salsa disco on Saturday. All with non-pro escorts

BB is an interesting place to watch live music, while Changó is great for a mix of Latin rhythms (salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaton). For a salsa freak like me, this is heaven.

I never saw a place in the World where people dance as much as in Cali. Maybe Cuba ressembles it, but still a far second. There are bars, discos, salsatecas, etc, all around every corner. I wonder how these places make enough to break even. Maybe it's the alcohol consumption, since at Changó I ordered 2 beers instead of ron or aguardiente (COP 80K the bottle) and we were kicked to a table away from the dancing floor.

Basically, as Cachorro poined out before, Cali is a great destination for P4P if you have enough time to explore, let's say 3-4 weeks. This way, you can visit enough clubs and casas on different days to find what suits your tastes and needs.

However, Cali is much better in terms of non-pros. If you have the time and you are lucky (no Uribe presidential ceremonies nor Cali anniversaries) you will find many cuties in malls and La Sexta. Not to mention the Internet sites, which were extremely helpful to me.

As I said before, the Valle del Cauca department merits a 2 day visit. An ISG member board joined me, my sweetie and another girl to a trip to Ginebra to eat the famous sancocho de gallina. He got a nice time with his girl, too.

I end up spending the majority of my first couple of days with Milena the morena, but do manage to shake her for an afternoon of mongering. I head down to Dr. Love to check out the selection. We come to a stop back where we started and the gang is going to Mi Cacharrito, a late night place for more partying.

I remember stopping in for one more drink and then making my way back to the hotel with Claudia. She had to be at work at 7:00 and we probably didn't even get back to the room until 3:00. We fucked, slept, fucked some more and then she left around 6:00. I don't know how she did it. I slept until at least noon.

The only thing i am wondering as I am here is why i havent been here sooner....the non pro action is alive and hopping...much better than Caracas and Medellin combined. Don´t fly cont. airlines...they lost about 10 peoples bags and it took them 5 days to return them to me. Other than that i´m having the time of my life.

Thanks to Gringo loco who hooked me up with his boy who lives in Cali i wasted no time picking non pro chicas. Alex and Omar own about 15 optical-body piercing joints in town and go to the malls (unicentro-chippichape) to hand out cards to EVERY hot girl they see and i slide right in after the initial contact has been made. They are typical latin dogs who just hound the shit out of a girl until we get their phone numbers. To come out of a mall with less than 5 digits is a failure.

Car bomb kills five in Colombia

The blast left a crater in the road and damaged nearby vehicles
A car bomb has exploded outside a police station in the Colombian city of Cali, killing at least five people. Four of the dead are police officers; the fifth is said to be the driver. No-one has admitted responsibility.

The attack comes three days before President Alvaro Uribe - known for his hard line against left-wing rebels - is due to be sworn in for a second term.

Colombia has seen decades of fighting among rebels, right-wing paramilitaries and state forces.

Friday's bomb reportedly exploded as the car passed in front of a police station in the El Vallado neighbourhood in the east of the city - Colombia's second largest.

The blast produced a column of smoke which rose above Cali, the Associated Press news agency reported.

Several people injured in the blast - including four police officers - were taken to hospital, Efe news agency reported.

El Valle state Governor Angelino Garzon told a local radio station he blamed leftist rebel group the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc) for the "terrorist" attack.

Let's not forget that Colombia is not The DR or Costa Rica. Intractable, long term problems do exist. Violence, crime, panhandlers and filfth are all part of the experience, especially in Cali. Sure, we can go down and monger for a few weeks and most likely not get shot or kidnapped by the FARC. The greatest annoyance will no doubt be the everpresent overeager panhandlers. A few coins and they're on their way. But one must be alert at all times. Don't get hammered and stagger home alone. Don't accept everything at face value. Keep alert.

Between Cali and Medellin, Medellin hands down is the way nicer city. It's cleaner, better organized, more modern with a state of the art 10 year old metro system. Not to say that Medellin is problem free. Just like Cali, there are high and low end barrios. The pay for play scene is better developed in Medellin. In Cali it's largely hit or miss. Despite Cali's shortcomings, I've now got some friends there and chicas that I can call when I roll into town. That's a huge plus for me.

Cuba is actually my favorite hunting grounds for non-pro chicas. I've been there several times over the last 3 years. As long as you avoid the tourist centers of Havana, the pickings are unbelievably easy. Forget the 2 date rule (as is my experience in Colombia). It's 2 hours. But after playing cat and mouse with US Customs and dealing with the lack of infrastructure there, I've moved on.

In Cuba I feel invincible, like a rock star. There's almost no girl that I want that I won't get. In Colombia not so. I simply feel like a guy with an edge. Certainly not every chica that I hit on is going to give me her number. And just getting the number doesn't mean that I'll get in her pants. I've still got to work it. Set up the date, wine, dine, drink, dance, blah blah blah. Weed out the whackjobs and golddiggers in the process. Generally don't have too spend much money, but it's an investment of time and the opportunity cost of that time when I've only got two and half weeks of it. Just a guy with an edge. But I'll take that edge. Shit yeah.

I had some drinks one night with AntiFreeze and his lovely novia. He introduced me to the infamous Screwed Up (quite a character), who made some comparisons between Colombia and Peru. In Colombia, single women almost never go out alone but usually in groups of mixed company, guys and chicas, and in most clubs eveybody sits at tables as opposed to walking around. Hard to tell if they're alone or not without directly approaching the table, which might be a risky proposition. In Peru not so. Single women out alone and in groups of just chicas making their availability more obvious. And the two date rule need not always apply. He did say that the percentage of really hot girls is far greater in Colombia than in Peru, but we don't fuck percentages do we? It also narrows down the selection process. So, next stop: Cali or Lima?

I completely agree and that why I'm glad i did my hw and talked to the right people prior to coming down there. I think Calenas are easier to meet and get to know, and bed than Paisas. At least that is my experience.......i never gotten laid that easily in Medellin. And the dangers of Caracas just makes it too dangerous to hang out these days.

Then they spend the rest of their trip in a hole in a wall casa. Well these guys go home angry and spreads the word to their friends how much Cali sucks. I've been visiting Cali and Medellin very regularly for years also ... except for a short time-out in Venezuela.

Venezuela is a different deal ... and has changed for the worse recently (political / crime / etc) ... can be discussed in that section.

As far as Cali vs Medellin for Gringos ... Medellin, as a whole, has Cali beat by a mile. As Gringo Loco and others have said before.

From the climate, to the cleanliness / organization of the city, the nice Metro system, the better PFP options, the Medellin Mansion and other clubs like it, the lighter skin, euro-looking Paisias that guys like, etc, etc.
Medellin wins hands-down.
Especially including the increased crime / danger in Cali as opposed to Medellin.

What Rob Hay is referring to is the difference in basic attitude / culture in Cali.
Don't get me wrong, Paisas, the people of Medellin, are very nice and courteous people in general.
Obviously the girls are beautiful too.

In Cali though, there is more of a happy-go-lucky attitude in general ... the Calenos and the Calenas (guys and girls).

I enjoy Cali for it's people ... but for a Gringo going on vacation to enjoy Colombia ... Cartagena for the guys that like the coast and mucho PFP ... and Medellin for the guys to enjoy a nice city, nice people with beautiful chicas and good PFP.
For first timers or guys that dig convenience, places like the Medellin Mansion are perfect.

I guess I should have qualified my comment about "free sex". I also am a expert at paying for free sex (a wife & son). I was not talking about girlfriends here but I agree with Heat that $1300.00 for 2 1/2 years of free sex is a bargain.

Here in Lima it is best described as "casual sex/bootycall/partnering or pairing off. I admit that it is more common amongst ex-pat 20 y/o's but us middle aged guys see it as well. (see "que ladrilla's" report on TR-san miguel in the lima section).

I went to Fresca Flores and Escoses just to check out these well renowned places and i must say both were major disappointments. Obviously all guys tastes differ but I don´t think any girl in either places were doable IMHO. Just back from a week or so in Cali / Pereira ... mostly with my girlfriend but I did have a great first night in Cali chasing PFP with my taxi buddy.

We visited a lot of casas and night-clubs and had lots of fun ... in general, the quality in Cali for PFP is nowhere near that in Medellin or Cartagena ... but as Surfer recently stated, you can find the diamond in the rough out there ... just takes more searching.

If I was a PFP seeker / vacationer ... I would choose another destination over Cali for sure.
Cali is great for it's care-free type people ... the great friends and atmosphere ... and non-pro chicas if your spanish is decent.

Went to Pereira with my novia to visit the Hot Springs (Termales calientes).
The bus ride was an adventure ... no security problems ... just an adventure :).

The springs were fantastic! Lots of fun in Santa Rosa, pueblo outside Pereira and at the hot springs.

GOt back from the lake yesterday.....wow what a party, great venue right next to the lake. Best party i have been to in over a few years. Over 5 thousand people willing to pay the 93,000 cover charge so obviously all the girls there were rich kids, prepagos, or kept women.

The quality of the chicas there were the type of girls only Derek Jeter or A-Rod could date back home.
