Try the Hampton in Boca Grande, many 2 or 3 star hotels are not a problem. Stay away from Hilton, Dann, although with only 1 guest they should be ok with cedula. Many thanks LocoGringo, while this site is great for info, I find people jump subjects fast (like hotels to apartments) and things change so frequently its good to try to get the latest info, I am not being lazy by not researching.

does anyone know of restaurant / bar on the beach that is open at night. outdoors prefer if they had a fire that would be a plus.

thanks.

ssa fire you say; are you wanting to cook your own pot of sancocho de pescado?

all jokes aside, it depends on what type of ambiance and setting you desire. if you want formal and romantic and aren't on a tight budget, then you could do club de pesca on the bay. if you want to go barefoot, share a bottle around and not worry about looking unkempt, you could round up some locals, some plastic chairs, throw together a fire made from whatever you can find, and eat fresh fish and seafood with your fingers. just kinda depends.....on you and your vibe.

ssthe right spot for your taste may be el muelle, right there on the beach at the edge of el laguito. so add el muelle to the other two options given in the previous post.

Went to LDV Thursday night about midnight and it was a mecca of girls and few guys. Girl I had last year came over and we chatted, she showing me pictures of herself on her phone. Colombian girls like pictures of themselves! Last year, I remember while fingering her and she flipped over doggy style and masturbated herself to an orgasm. That's a memory that will stay with me. So I was keen to go with her again. Alejendra is a 25 year old student from Bogota and came down January 1st for their month long vacation. As I knew her and we kept in touch via Facebook, it felt awkward to bring up price. I used my calculator to show 150K cop for two hours. She wanted 200k but settled for 150k.

The memory this year is how she received a phone call in the middle of giving me a BBBJ. While the other person is yapping on, she leans over with phone in ear to continue sucking and only stopping to respond a few words then suck some more! LOL

My wingman went with a 24 year old, Valentina, who was firm on her price of 300k two hours or 500k for all night.

Friday night, at LDV the women were less out numbered but it was still a buyer's market.

Alejendra spotted me again, it was late, felt bad for her not earning any pesos tonight, so took her out again.

My question is this mininmum consumption BS that LDV is imposing. It was there last year too but seems more enforced this year. Confusion amongst the girls of what is required. Do they have to have guys buy them 3 drinks or one is good enough? Alejendra was fine with a ginger ale for 5k (enough on Thursday night) but the bartender said something to her on Friday and she switched to a whiskey for 18k. Even with that, her and her friend still thought that wasn't enough for them to leave.

How would LDV even keep track of how many drinks were bought for a girl anyways as they move around in the bar.

My solution was: 1 drink for me. 1 drink for the girl I elected. Chat, sip, then I left, having set up a meeting with the girl at Reloy half hour later, for a night of fun at Mister Babilla etc.

Fuck the 100k minimum consumption policy!

Leave first. Head down the stairs and have them follow you out a couple of minutes after.Ya, did that a couple of times last year. All the girls were suggesting it so can't believe it would take long before LDV catches wind of this and send out spies. Although never seen any. Girls suggested this too but they were also so paranoid about getting banned from the place that I suggested we meet them up the street near Riquisimos restaurant.

Whoa, just got my second police stop in Colombia. First was a few years ago in Medellin on a deserted street late at night. Easy to be lullled into complacency here in Cartagena as it is a safe tourist area. My buddy and I were passing the LDV / Exito complex on the corner of Hotel Dann when two police officer on a motorcycle came up the street from the El Muelle restaurant. It was about 6:30 pm.

Officer did a pat down of my shorts and reached very close to my groin. It was a male officer so the touch wasn't really welcomed.

He felt each pocket and got me to remove the contents one at a time. Had a key in my back pocket, a candy a couple of coins in my front. He actually sniffed the candy and gave it back, dropping one on the ground and he bent over to pick it up for me. In my front left pocket I pulled out a money clip with my credit and debit cards and about 20 mill. He turned it over several times to examine it. It's a money clip! What nefarious thing was he looking for? He never said a word throughout the whole search even when I asked if everything was ok but instead he drifted to his partner to look for any signal. My buddy said his officer did they same as if they were trying to agree what to do next.

My buddy thinks it was a shakedown attempt. Both police were male and in their early 20s. Why my buddy thinks this is that in other places such as Germany, he was stopped in the RLD, the police there was very polite and explained exactly why they stopped him. I. E. It's a place where crime exists, he was wearing a hoodie etc etc. Quite professional. Whereas tonight, he took out his money clip that also had money wrapped around it. After putting it back in his pocket and moving to other pockets, the officer asked him to take the money clip out again and wanted to see what credit cards were in it. Why does that matter? Neither of them asked to look at our ID, though if he did, I had my driver's license as one of my cards in the clip. Perhaps their assessment that I was only carrying 20 mill and my buddy only had 70 mill on him and that we were in a well lit, well travelled area made them decide it was not worth it? True other recent posts talk about doing searches to keep the rift raft out, but we were dressed like anyone else. So were they only doing their job? If so, why all the interest in the money clips?

DRUG. They were looking if you have some small pill or white powder hidden somewhere.

Don't worry they will never take your money. They are just interested to keep clean the city. And yes, sometimes they catch some foreigner with white powder in the pockets.

Hi,

In early Dec I was in CTG for an overnight trip, while there I struck up a conversation with a working girl in the afternoon at the Exito across from the Dann. She was slim by Colombian standards, maybe mid twenties with light skin and blonde hair, spoke fairly good English. I was in a hurry and copied her number down wrong, this is probably a shot in the dark but if anyone knows her and can PM me her contact info or main hangout I would appreciate it.

Fuck the 100k minimum consumption policy! When I was there on 3 different nights in December, no one mentioned anything about a minimum consumption policy, nor anything about buying a drink for a chica. Nor was anything said to another Gringo who was there during the same week. Granted, I'm going to drink a beer every 10 to 15 minutes or so naturally, and if I spot a chica that catches my fancy, I may ask her to buy her a drink or send over one of the waiters to have him ask her what she'd like. No one has ever mentioned anything about any type of drink policies, be it a waiter, bartender or working girl. Plus, why wouldn't I drink and spend money there? I am at a bar, bars serve drinks and bars are in business to make money. A bar doesn't make money, it goes out of business. I kinda like having the option of it being open when I'm in town, so I say why not enjoy some beers or a bottle while at the same time showing some appreciation for the business owner who's made an investment and taken the risk?

Black Page, I don't mean to pick on you, but can I play the the devil's advocate role here? Is it such a bad thing that a business is in business to show a profit? Is it a stretch to think that this so-called minimum consumption policy only comes into play on those occasions where it appears a guy makes it quite obvious that he doesn't intend to spend any coin? How do you propose that business owner pays his rent and keeps the lights on if we all say fuck them, I'm not buying anything here, I'm just going to find a girl and have her meet me down at the end of the steps and leave?

It's all good, and I certainly don't mean any offense, but I'd kinda like to see the place make a little money from serving alcohol and keep the music playing. Hell, go in there, get a bottle or 1/2 bottle and have some fun! Rumba!

Just an opposing view.

True other recent posts talk about doing searches to keep the rift raft out, but we were dressed like anyone else. So were they only doing their job? If so, why all the interest in the money clips?Black Page is correct, just a normal, routine police check in Laguito. The police there in Laguito are a positive thing; consider them to be on your side. I've been stopped and searched many times, including after just hitting up an ATM machine on my way back to Laguito in a Taxi. The result? No problems. Had me empty my pockets, had me hand them my money clip full of fresh pesos, everything was looked over and returned. No problemos.

All the times I've been stopped and searched, not once resulted in a problem, or my feeling like it was a shakedown. I will mention that I did recently end up giving a young one 10 mil on the beach so he'd let a group of 6 - 8 of us continue to shoot shots and carry-on after the sun had just gone down instead of telling us the beach was closed and best for us to go. After they continued to say we needed to leave and lingered longer than 5 minutes without relenting, a Colombian friend did pull me to the side and say give him 10 mil pesos. I inconspicuously found 10 mil pesos, two police relented, went away and the little party there on the beach continued.

Two other young police guys stopped to chat a little while later, but all they wanted to do was smile with us at the chicas and proudly display the little bit of English they could speak with a smile...tranquilo they were.

If you like to partake, my advice is don't ever carry it; never ever. Use delivery.

Tony brought her and her morena friend from Bqlla to the carpa to talk to a fellow from Denmark who had stopped to chat and have a beer. Maybe Hillbilly will respond, or shoot him a PM, as he may have her number. If you don't get it before you arrive, go to Playa Hollywood and describe her to Tony; odds are he'll locate her for you, LOL.

I am not surprised to hear about shakedowns in Cartagena though.

I would be more surprised to hear of this happening in Medellin or Cali.

It is the difference between being in a tourist destination or not IMO.

It's legal to carry small amounts of cocaine and marijuana in Colombia, is it not?No amount of pot or cocaine is legal in Colombia. The local police are usually corrupt, good and bad thing. They target gringoes to get a quick payoff, usually 10-20, 000 pesos. I have lived here for 13+ years, had many experiences with them, also the military when driving to another city. The military is more professional, rarely asked for pesos.

I suspect they were just bored and harassing you. Thanks Black Page, Hilltopper and Wilt for your comments and reassurances of the Cartagena police. IMO there seems to be more police roaming around the LDV area compared to last year. As for being bored, I saw a copper help the street cleaner last year sweep the street in front of the police checkpoint near LDV. Bet you'd never see that in America!

Is it a stretch to think that this so-called minimum consumption policy only comes into play on those occasions where it appears a guy makes it quite obvious that he doesn't intend to spend any coin?Guys are not harrassed for drinks. The minimum refers to the ladies that have to have x number of drinks bought for them before they can leave or else they get black listed from the club. I think what Black Page and others take offense to is that we see a chica we like. In addition to the negotiated rate, we now have to buy expensive drinks for them so they can continue freelancing at the club after. In Asia they call it a barfine. Also usually chicas don't ask for the 10. 000 beer but whiskey which is 18. 000 cop.

I did notice more chicas hitting me up for expensive drinks now. Anyways, since then we always meet them outside.

Absent those kind of guys, my bet is that they'd never utter a word to a single person about any type of minimum policy. Nary a chica, nary a waiter, nary anyone has said a word to me or to anyone I know who goes there about buying drinks for chicas, or spending any kind of minimum, etc. We aren't anything special, that's for certain, so why are you made aware of this so-called policy, yet others aren't?

I'm going to put my devil's advocate hat on again, and I realize it may not be popular, but I hope it is found thought-provoking by at least someone:

Do you suggest that the price of drinks should be raise instead on the guys who don't have to be told to buy drinks, so that the guys who don't want to spend money can just go there to pick-up chicas and have the run of the place? Maybe those who do drink should pay more so you can come inside, take up a table, etc., without buying anything, but enjoy all the same amenities?

You say not everyone drinks, I agree, but does that prevent that person from spending money buying drinks for others along with bottles of water for himself? The times I've gone there and not felt like drinking alcohol, I buy a bottle water, and then another when that one's finished, etc.

Why not just stay outside to find chicas? Why come inside the bar? Why just not look for chicas outside Tu Candela? Why not just pick up street walkers? Why not just pick up chicas on the beach?

When you go to book your flight to Colombia, do you tell the airline that you really don't want a seat, you just want to come along for the ride and are happy to stand, therefore they should not charge you? When they say you have to pay for a seat to ride on our plane, do you say that's annoying, that you don't feel like sitting, therefore you shouldn't be charged?

Reminds me of those illegally in the States protesting for in-state tuition, for free services, for this, for that, etc, etc, and then saying it's not fair for them to be denied assistance and support.

What happens to the place if none of us buy anything once we walk inside? What happens when everyone decides to be a taker, and no one gives back, no one buys any drinks; will the place be open the next time we come back to Cartagena?

That may be the official policy but not everything applies to extranjeros. It might just be a corrupt cop looking for a payoff. Always err on the side of caution especially in a foreign country! They often just mess with you and if they want a bribe, then they WANT a bribe and will give you opportunity to do it. Bottom line, they are not trying to take you to lockup, that's a headache for them, especially with a foreigner. They either just want to yank your chain a bit or get their palm greased with 10 bucks or so. To be honest I prefer this to the way police operate in many industrialized countries.

I rode a bus once with a German guy, some sort of biologist but really loopy. The bus got searched and he had a bag of joints fall out of his pocket. When we all got back on, one of the cops came up to him and said "Is this yours?" He was ready to just shit his entire colon on himself, until the cop handed him the bag and said "you should be more careful."

Needless to say, there is not as much emphasis on protocol in Colombian policework!

all you have to do is a quick google search. plenty of info on this topic.

i have been stopped by military at checkpoints and never had a problem. i got pulled over outside of cali for speeding by the military. they made me wait for 10 minutes and then said the fine was 50k ($25). i have been in casas during id checks a few times but never a raid. no problems.

the problems with the authorities in cartagena are due to it being a tourists destination. in the cartagena tourist area foreigners are looked at as easy targets.

9 times out of 10 we drink the minimum without the "policy." on the one one night we don't drink the minimum, we get harassed. and we go there every night when we are in town. you don't think we have a right to be peeved? it is not a good way to treat customers. i understand why there is a need for it. i would prefer a policy like paprika or tu candela where you have a cover charge that is paid back with drinks so in essence there is a minimum drink amount which applies to everyone.a right? no. if you ask whether you have a reason or not, then my answer is yes, but not a "right".

no one said a word to me, be it about a minimum, chica drink policy or what not. nor do i believe they said anything to another gringo i knew who was in town that week. i doubt i spent over 100 mil on two out of the three nights i stopped through in december, while the first night i certainly did.

the guy in town that week that i know did say that one of the waiters said something to a european guy he had befriended. i asked why did he think that happened, and he said the guy ordered one beer, nursed it and then kept declining to buy a second one after he was clearly finished. eventually they said something.

in your case, if you guys are drinkers 9 out of 10 times, then i think all it would take is a friendly smile, handshake and a pat on the back to the waiter to jokingly remind him how much you drank the previous night (s) and then with a grin and a laugh say that agua is all you can handle for tonight.

you go that often, it's called relationship building. just my dos centavos.

It sounds like recently they are getting the girls to hit guys up for drinks instead. Just as annoying when the first thing out of a chica's mouth is "can you buy me a drink?"

all you have to do is a quick google search. plenty of info on this topic.

i have been stopped by military at checkpoints and never had a problem. i got pulled over outside of cali for speeding by the military. they made me wait for 10 minutes and then said the fine was 50k ($25). i have been in casas during i'd checks a few times but never a raid. no problems.

the problems with the authorities in cartagena are due to it being a tourists destination. in the cartagena tourist area foreigners are looked at as easy targets.are you saying you was stopped at checkpoints with weed / cocaine in your pockets with no problems?

Are you saying you was stopped at checkpoints with weed / cocaine in your pockets with no problems? No. Just stating my interactions with the police / military in Colombia in general. Always friendly. Never a problem. If I had drugs on me at the checkpoint it wouldn't have made a difference. I never got patted down and no dogs nearby. Only in Airports.

As I stated before, the police are only a problem in the Cartagena tourist area because Cartagena it is a tourist destination. Just use a little more diligence in this area. If you are unlucky to stopped by the police, and you are doing something wrong, offer them a few bucks and you should be fine.

Did not shake us down but one time gave my friend a hassle for having a couple pills of sildenafil in his pocket. I would never carry anything in my pocket. Watching too many episodes of "locked up abroad!" LOL.

Some nights I have been checked as much as three times some nights never get checked. Sometimes in a taxi the police will just check me sometimes they will just check the chicas but most of the time they will check both of us and ask the taxi driver to open the trunk of the car to look in. If you don't have drugs it's no problem.

About the sildenafil pills if they are still in the package they never ask what it is, but when the pills are loose in your pocket they will ask you. If I take sidenafil pills with me I take them out of the box and leave them in the package you pop the out of. I have never had any problems doing it that way.

Hello everyone,

I've just arrived in Cartagena and will stay for a while. I am looking for a place like cafe rojo in quito ecuador. This place was the best. About 20 girls to choose from and mainly hot Colombianas. It was like a club with rooms upstairs and it was really cheap. 20 US$ to fuck or to have a private dance. You just approached the girl you like and that s about it. No negotiating, buying her a drink or whatsoever. The best was it is open every day from lunch time.

Let me know if something similar exists here.

I also looking for a wingman. Pm me if you want to hang out together.

Seems like short time is around 150k-250k realistically from LDV.

I'd love to get back to CTG but the pricing is putting me off. Casa's are how much now?

How much cheaper are the street girls hanging round the place square or media luna?

If you had done your research before you went then you would know that Cartagena is not cheap for mongering, especially so if you think you are going to point and click. Your best chance / lowest price is to get short time from a girl you see at the beach and I am sure that it is going to cost you more than $20.

Just got back from a week in Cartagena. Quality of chicks at LDV has gone down the tubes! On the bright side, Parika is hopping again like the good old days. A note about policia. Seems to be more than usual. One night we left LDV and headed for Paprika. My friend his girl and myself. There was a checkpoint by that policia median. They made everyone get out of the taxi and patted me down, patted my friend down and fingered his wallet. Checked the chica's bag before letting us go. Lucky I insisted that the chica leave everything she had at the apartment. A couple of days later, Tony is finding a chica for my friend. He is out in the street paying for the taxi when a ton of police scooters surround them. The massage chica on the beach was telling us about personal usage sizes, but apparently the chica had too much perico on her and they were taking her down to the station. We wasn't sure if Tony got nabbed too. Anyways, we hightailed it back to the beach. Not sure what happened to Tony after that. That Saturday night, they wouldn't let Taxis into Centro. Apparently. 5 South American presidents were having dinner at a restaurant in Centro. Policia everywhere.

(1) Was in Cartagena in 2009. Got an apartment from Mary in the tourist area, which is

An area with lots of apartment buildings.

It is In-between the Hilton Hotel and La Dolce Vita.

Is Mary still around? Does anyone have contact info for her?

If she's not around, can you recommend someone else who rents apartments in that area?

I want to stay in the same area.

Also:

(2) Was looking for a list of taxi drivers to show me around to nite clubs, girls, beaches, houses etc.

Found a driver list in the "list" section of the forum, but it's from 2011. Any more recent Cartagena driver list?

It should cost you only a few dollars to call them.

Most times in Latin countries, it is best to call, because a lot of times they do not respond to emails.

Great to see you post again.

Not many chica reports lately on this forum. I searched back several pages and it is not clear if Electra is open now? It was supposed to in January?

Is Isis still open? I heard someone mention paprika but did not see any details.

My plans for my upcoming trip in April: I decided to go with a change of venue and rented an apartment close to the Clock tower (with an outdoor pool) , as opposed to Bocagrande or Languito. My rational is that I can take the taxi to the beaches during the afternoon but minimize driving around at night as the late night action now seems to be at the Centro. I see no good reports from LDV. Please feel to share your thoughts and I will report back

I don't have time to write a long report in BP style, but I wish to give some highlights. I could spend hours telling funny details, but sorry I have no time.

I stay here 5 nights this time. I learned again that here money rules. Spend it in quantity and you MAY have lot of fun. Be stingy and you will lose all potential fun. (lots of money is necessary condition, by far not sufficient).
In 4 nights, I experienced the following.

Night 1
3some night with my beloved 2 friends of last time (L+M). One (M) is my dream. Educated, clean, polite girl with one son and close to 30, but looking as a teen. They are really good performers, but they rush away at 5am instead of sleeping with me. 200 each, after night at Tu Candela, many drinks and 2 hours in my apt.

Night 2
3-some with 2 other girls (F+R) , regulars of LDV, met at Elektra. One (F) is totally crazy, not bad but crazy, with photo-model amazing body. I knew her since one year before, but she forgot me. The other (R) is more MILF, but much more reliable, intelligent, and ultimately more interesting for me. They stay and sleep till 12. 250 each.

Day 3
At the beach, I notice a teen blonde girl in company with a big black man and a big black lady. The man approaches her and it's frankly disgusting. I imagine that the lady brought a gift to the man. I establish eye contact. After one hour, she slowly moves to the toilet. I slowly stand up and I go out of the bar, putting in her hand a small piece of paper with my number.

Night 3
Again 3some with the same 2 F+R. This time I am less satisfied. Once in my apt, after a whole night in Tu Candela till 3am, the crazy one is much more lazy and is always chatting on her phone with her novio in Italy. I must disconnect the wifi (upon suggestion of the other) to get her interested more to my dick). They stay and sleep till 10. 200 each.

Night 4
I accompany R to buy home supply at Bazurto supermarket. This is what I like. We go there just to talk, not because she wants me to pay fancy items.I go back to Center walking alone (45 minutes?), because the traffic is a nightmare.
I take out the teen girl (R2) to have dinner. She is from a barrio of Cartagena. It's embarassing. She is beautiful as a doll, blond and with green eyes, looking 16yo but exhibiting a cedula which says 20. She does not speak. She says she does not lilke to eat. I take her to my apt. She says that she demands 200, not negotiable. Standard session, but with a doll which is frankly amazing, and looking as 16yo. I will not repeat. Her technique in sex is good, but I need something more than just sex with a doll. At 12 she rushes out and I am free to go out for the night.
My beloved M is busy. She does not answer the phone. I see her coming out from Café del Mar under the arm of someone like an Indian (!) business man, in a large group with something like 5 girls, all extremely pretty, all never seen in LDV. She smiles to me, and destroys my mood. I am done. I cannot go hunting anymore. I miss her. I go back to sleep, I wake up at 2:30am, I go to Elektra, where I pick a nice one, experienced regular but kind and pretty, just a bit round. Asks 150 for 1 shot, I propose 200 for TLN. All perfect, included drinks and pizza, but she leaves me in the morning without offering me a 2nd round. Great experience anyway.

Night 5
I don't know yet. It's 8:30pm now. The day was boring. I wanted desperately to meet M, but she tells me she is busy 3 days with the Indians, who pay them 300USD PER DAY EACH GIRL. They contacted them via an escort agency, who takes its fee on top of the 300$. M was called by a friend, because the agency did not have enough girls, I think. Now, we will see her less at LDV and she will start earning more via the agency, to save for her university tuition fee. Good for her.
R promised me to find a good girl for spending the night together, but she is disappointed. Her friends do not respond, and she does not want to call one of the many rushy putas from LDV. We agree we do not need this. We will go out for dinner and then we can go out hunting. She is not the sexiest and most flashy girl in LDV, she is below average if we look at body and first appearance, but 10 times more interesting than those silicon babes.

Night 5 (part 2)

I go to pick up R where she lives in Getsemani. She's wearing a flower dress, so clean and neat, totally different from the puta look in LDV. I try to explain her that the men would notice her much more, if she would dress like that always and not only for me.

We have a romantic dinner at Quebracho, Cafe del Mar, and we go to my apt.
Well, I have seen many things in my life, but a girl hot like her is really extraordinary. She's doing things you don't see in 99% of porn movies (I will not give details). I really don't think she does this with everyone. We have a special feeling. She's intelligent and sensitive. She has a large family and does all this to support it. In short, I may fall in love. Now that I left Colombia I have a heavy heart, thinking about her far from me!

At 3am, she is tired and would like to sleep, BUT (again notice how good is this girl) she understands my feeling: this is my last night and I want to live it all.
We go to Elektra to meet her friends and do some noise. Her friends are all sexy and very warm, but for respect to R I don't propose to anyone to join us in my apt.

Next morning (3 hours later) , R slips out of my bed and she tells me she needs to go home. I am disappointed we have no morning sex, but I understands that she must feel tired and even some pain. I leave her and I put in her hands much more than she expected. But she is not like others.

I have my flight at 2:20pm. Now it's 11:00am. I start thinking that maybe I can call one of her friends. R is very supportive. She immediately gives me the phone numbers.
30 minutes of attempts to find the one I liked most (not the most beautiful, but a sex bomb spreading desire all around), but she is somewhere sleeping. Finally her sister comes to my apt. She shows up at 12, and we have 1 hour before I grab a taxi to reach the airport (14 mins!). She is simply great. She treats me with all her ability. I give her 200. I think I am more generous than the average (spoiling the market? Please tell me) but she was really GREAT.

Goodbye CTG. Another outstanding memory, and lots of nostalgy which will last a long time.

30 minutes of attempts to find the one I liked most (not the most beautiful, but a sex bomb spreading desire all around) , but she is somewhere sleeping.

Another outstanding memory, and lots of nostalgy which will last a long time.Where did you stay?

That is why I was shocked a couple of months back to hear about a hotel that does not need registration. It's very uncommon. IMO, apartments are the way to go to avoid the "walk of shame" involved with hotels.

You should always go with chicas that have IDs. Make sure they have before you leave to go to your place. I won't even go into why you would want to bring someone back without I'd.Maybe I can shed a little light here. I was in Ibague with my novia and we were out on the town with her daughter 6 years old. She was 28 I was 30. We went to the mall, lunch and just hanging out. At the end of the afternoon we stopped by the hotel that Novia and me were going to stay at to register. Daughter was going to stay with Novia's parents. It took like a half hour to register bc of a bunch of questions etc. But I noticed they kept asking if little girl was staying with us? We kept saying no. The truth right? So after we register we are putting our luggage in the room etc. And we were talking and she asked if I noticed all the question? I was like yeah. Whats up with all the hassle. She said child sex abuse is very real in that country and they were probing and asking to protect the child. I was really uneasy after that, stomach started turning. I have a little girl and we hear that stuff on the news and stuff but to be face to face with it in another country was just sad. So I never complain or pushback on the cedula or ID policy I know its for some good I hope.

i assume everyone reading this forum does not include 6yo kids in the discussion "cedula-or-not", so let me point out some facts.

1) if a girl is **** but looks above 18, and she wants to work p4p, she buys a fake cedula. 50kcop and all purists who insist with "never without a cedula in colombia!" are set. i am personally aware of a number of popular girls in ctg who started to work at usual places when they were 16 or so, and nobody realized that. maybe also someone here who writes "never without cedula!", like it was a condom, enjoyed the company of one of them (and the company of her cedula too).

2) if a girl is **** and looks ****, i assume none here wants to bring her to the room. in such a case, however, the doorman instead of asking the cedula, should simply give a call to the police for a check (there is a post at laguito, and are usually without anything to do).

3) if a girl is or looks well above 18yo, but does not have the cedula (for whatever reason, including having lost it or left at home) , you can go to a motel. 17k / hour. no cedula needed. simple. finish of the hassle.

4) in cartagena, i was asked to exhibit my cedula to pay cash a dress item in a fashion store, for about 80k. apparently, their policy is to not sell items to anonymous people. this makes a good pair with the doorman asking the cedula to my guests at my apt.

in conclusion, all this story sounds a big hypocrisy to me. i am heavily puzzled anytime the doorman stops my guest - in the apartment i rented, not in a hotel! - to examine and register the cedula. i take that as a privacy violation, for me and my guest! she may have a regular life in cartagena, with family, and would be dead if anyone in her street would know she goes with a foreigner tourist. this is not theory. this is exactly the case of my last girl in ctg.

i don't go with kids, with or without cedula. this is the point, not the cedula.
ok, i tend to think that, wherever we go we must follow local rules and way of thinking, so it's ok let's accept this cedula ordeal. but it's really incredible that people, who is happy to come and go from hotels in usa without a single check on guests, in colombia suddenly finds this rule the best way to do.

true you make a very good point. i can totally see how that would be a privacy issue and also a concern with the girl that you were with. point well taken.

Lots of police outside. I doubt this dead guy could be a hint for them to finally stop the drug parties there.

I think the hotel wanted to make sure that you don't have three people in the room. Most in Colombia count anyone that is not an infant.

It was a total riot. I spent a lot on money but I had a great time.

I was tired when I arrived around 6 pm so I called an agency. http://lindisimas.net/ Albert the guy running it now is a decent guy. The standard rate is 200 for 1hr.

Talked to the guy and I told him exactly who I want. I insisted that I will send her back if she is exactly like the picture and I did send the first one away so he knew I am serious.

BTW, the first one begged me to keep her. I felt bad. She was sweet though not my type. Keisy on the website, if it is even her, gained 20 lbs, though still nice but not my type. I paid her taxi fare. She said she will accept lower fee. Sorry.

Anna showed up in exactly 20 min after Keisy left. She is pretty though stil bit heavier than in the pics. Very GFE. Great 1 hr session for 200K.

Went to the watch tower at 9 pm. Nada. Went to cafe Delmar. Nada.

Bought weed right outside cafe del mar. Decent quality. I am not good at rolling so I had him roll it for me.

Went to Isis. The place had been renovated since last time I was there. No cover. Some Girls are cute. There were at least three I would do. I hone din on Lorena. She is beautiful and she knows it. Sweet smile. I did TLN with her and she stayed the next day till 9 am. We went dancing, drinking and shared my weed on the roof top. It was surreal. See the apartment thread.

Multa? And to her?

Tonight I will go to LDV, but most likely I will be with R, my "girlfriend" here. With her, we will go hunting for a 3rd (sorry, not you, I mean a girl).

Most likely, I will be also at Elektra. My last night, I don't want to miss the atmosphere. R does know that.

Another great day in CTG:

The beach was too windy and just crap. I can't believe people were still hanging out on the beach with sand blowing sideways.

I bailed on the beach and called the escort agent. A fresh 19 yr old was delivered 3 minutes before promised time! Her name Yerlei and she is cute though a bit inexperienced. Did I say she is 19? Any way, she was worth the price and convince but not someone I would go all night with.

Took a nap and went to LDV. I was going to meet my friend Black Page there but I got there too early at 11 PM. It did not turn out bad for me. I had my pick of the fresh hotties and I picked Andrea from MDE. She is petite, speaks english and is very classy. She reads a book a week and she is knowledgeable about local and world politics. Great company. Small package but a perfect body (six pack) with a beautiful face and arresting smile. We went to cafe del mar and then to my apartment. Smoked weed on the terrace and made love on the hammock. She loves rock music and rock ballards. She had a great time picking music. I sent her home at 2; 45 and went to Paprika.

Paprika was happening at 3:30 AM. Carolina got my attention right away. Great figure and I imagined all silicone but turned out that she is all natural! I could not believe it. Another sweet heart. We dirty danced for an hour there and then went home. She stayed till 7 am. She was the 5th one on the hammock and that has to be some kind of record :+D

Thanks, BIf you want good massage with HJ, go to the second floor "spa" in hotel El Dorado plaza. They are older and not good looking but friendly. They will give you good massage with an HJ. You probably would not want anything more from them anyway.

There is another place bit out of the Centro and the strip but I have not been to it.

So, haven't been to Colombia in a few years. Really excited to be here. The girls are beautiful and all over the place. I spent all day and night on layover flights but it was well worth it. Met a really cute 2nd year University student on my flight in. Not sure how old that would make her. 18-20 maybe? I didn't ask. We exchanged #'s spent a lot of the time talking about U. S and stuff etc. She is here from MDE with family. Hopefully I will get a chance to hang out with her before I leave.

Next met a cool cabbie older gent Orlando real cool guy. He is supposed to take me on a casa run. Got in to my hotel checked in room is very clean and modern. Security is good. Thanks Juan! Dropped my bags quick shower and headed to LDV. I have read so much about this place. I had to see it. Place was nice. About 10 girls all beautiful. 7-10 IMHO. Had a couple of beers didn't bring one back as I wanted to check street action and Pleyclub. A couple of street girls were out. Nothing special but still very doable. Went to Pley club and there were about 10 girls also. Took one in the room for 200k. For approx 40 min. Very GFE. I had to bring her down from the clouds just a bit before we settled on a final number. She started at 500 USD. Hahaha. We ended at 200k. Still not that cheap but I was ok. She was from Cali- light complexion tall about 5'8" nice and thick reallly banging body and very GFE. Sex for 20 min. 5 min BJ and shower. After that was looking for a street girl to bring back but it was already 4am Mon morning. Streets were empty. So headed back to my room.

Lets see what today will bring! Wish me luck!

Today seemed like there was 36 hours in a 24 hour day. But the the day started with me getting to know CTG walking around grabbing food drinks etc. On San Martin ave and other local places. The city is getting packed for Easter week and it shows. Prices unfortunately are also going up and up. So I went to Playa Hollywood and checked out a few girls there. Some guy maybe Tony? He said his name was different kept bringing them over. Anyways I would ask about price etc and get their # and let them know I would think about it and call them back. So I went back to my Apt and called this one from Venezuela that is visiting. She's on mileroticos too. I asked for 2 hours 150k. Short, GFE, huge tits and banging ass, very nice! She came was very GFE which I like and ended up staying 3 hours because I had given her a Victoria secret lotion as a small gift that I brought from the USA Actually that small gesture gave me so much credit with her she left very happy. So then I walk down stairs and the doorman is trying to hook me up with the girl that works at the local storefront. I talked to her for a min tried to bring her upstairs but kept insisting she's not like that. Oh well I offered dinner for tonight I will keep that on the back burnerfor just in case.

So the beach girl calls and thanks me again And I ask her out to dinner. We at this point have a really cool connection lime good friends. I like that. This is about 800pm we head to dinner $40k. And on the way back I ask her to service me again back at my apt. She agrees we agree on 150k again. We end up at my apt about 930pm and she ends up leaving at 130am. Rolled around in the sack 4 times. At this point there is no leche left LOL! So I ask her about who she lives with and she says 3 other girls! Perfect so I say hook me up right! She says she will get jealous. So I say Trio? She agrees. She is planning on bringing one other girls tonight to my apt for drinks and see what happens. Wish me luck!

So at 130 head to Ldv same thing 20 girls all beautiful and ready at 200k not ready to commit. Here I also meet a fellow from Germany so we head to Isis together to check it out. Isis was cool but to dark didn't really make a connection there. Then walked over to Paprika / Electra. There I met a paisa. Very nice and GFE thin nice ass small tits beautiful long blk hair, face was normal. I said 3 hours 150k and if you're tired I have no problem if you stay the night. She agrees. Back at the apt its on I was never able to cum. We tried every position for about 4 hours. Its now 6am. She heads home I head to bed. We made plans for her to come back to my apt today and chill she promised to cook me dinner and make sure I'm eating well. The dinner and stuff is for free we agreed on that. I treated her nice and safe and she appreciates that. Its now 140pm on day#3 going to head to playa hoywood and get this day started. I will repost in a while with pics having trouble uploading from my Iphone.

A lot of times you can pick up the girls on that same street as they are walking to LDV or leaving LDV. If you meet them at paprika / electra its def cheaper but way later too.

So I head to the beach and I find the Paisa from last night. All is good. She has a friend with her. She's ok nothing to write home about though. So we head to the beach and the deal is this. I get the cabana but they can use it to chill so I don't lose it when I leave to the apt every now and then. The apt was really close by. So we are all hanging out and drinking and ordering mangos etc. I take a stroll and a lot of good looking girls are there. Made a few connections. I head back to the cabana and hang out with the Paisa girl. I decide to take her with me to Islas del Rosario. So we make a deal. I take her the rest of the day, plus all night, plus the rest of the next day at Islas del Rosario until 7pm. Sealed the deal at 350k. I thought it was ok but realized probably a little high since she took the offer right away. That was pretty much day 3 and 4. Which was nice for me since I had her avail anytime I wanted until the next day at 7pm. The next day and a half was pretty awesome. She finally heads home the next evening. And I venture out again. I take a 2 min walk and a group of chicas get off the bus. I find a light skin blk girl from one of the barrios. 19 years old. We head upstairs for 2 hours at 80k. Very nice no complaints. So its still kinda early so I head out again checked out Tu Candela. Nothing special there. As I head home I find the light skin girl with a friend. 19 years old also. I take the friend upstairs for 50k. And call it a night.

Medellin for an hour depends.

Depends on where you are looking for the fun.

At the Plaza, between 100K. 200K pesos, depending on the girl and you.

At casas, much cheaper, at strip clubs, depends on which ones, the high end or low, but more or less between 50k to 200k.

Good luck!

I know the touts can be annoying, but here's a trick I discovered. Lowball them. If something costs 60k, offer him 10k. Most of the time they will get the hint. If not, and they accept your offer, you just got yourself a great deal!

If anyone has stayed there before, it's one of Juan's nicer / new apartment. The elevators are a death trap! I was last there in February. The elevators won't stop at my floor. Sometimes go above my floor. One time in the middle! All my girls were afraid of it. About 9 days ago, some 18 year old kid. Busy texting. Walked into an empty elevator shaft from the 6th floor and fell to his death. My amiga showed me an article online.

I got stopped in the street by some guy trying to sell me the yellow, Adidas Colombia soccer jersey. He said very cheap for me. Only $30. I always wanted one of those, so I half joked. No. Too expensive. 30 mill pesos. He said "no commission for me." I was ready to leave and he quickly agreed. I should have offered him 20 mill!

All you did was afforded that guy the means to put meat on the table for a couple of days to go with the rice. You should have just gave him 20 mil, spat on the ground and told him rice is delicious by itself!

These are mostly fake. I have got one surprisingly the quality is good. I don't recall how much did I pay, likely 30K or 40K. The right way is to EDUCATE oneself on prices, quality of merchandise and where and when the transaction occurs. Then you can bargain respectfully and not loose face or being taken for a ride. Prices on Basurto market are lower but hey one has to get there. Same applies for pussynomics.

I won't even argue over tipping 50% at a casa "just because" it's only $5!

Never made it past the beach. But will be there tonight for sure.I know how you feel. As a recent visitor to CTG and after reading these reports for months. I knew for sure I would be spending the majority of the time picking from the line up at LDV. I mean who could pass up a bar / club full of beautiful working girls. Right? But it went completely different for me. I would spend the day walking Sn Martin Ave in the morning maybe meet a girl here and there. Then head to the beach. Get about 5 contacts. Plus that strip there in El Laguito is full or girls up and down the street. By 11pm I was not as eager to pull one from LDV for 250k + for short time. Almost everytime I went to LDV I would pick up a few numbers or meet them At Electra / Paprika for half the price. In hindsight I should've kept more of a routine. Get a street chica in the AM, head to beach pick up 1 or 2 for daytime fun, nap, head to LDV pick a nice one for TLN or head to Paprika. Thats my gameplan for next time. I regret going to pleyclub, felt like a waste of $$ even though I did love the girl that I chose. Its just too much of a business transaction there. I don't mind paying for drinks it just feels like a complete rip off paying 10usd for a redbull or soda and beer prices are ridiculous. Tu Candela is a nice place to take a girl. And possibly pick another one up for a threesome. Never really paid attention to the girls outside the clocktower. The prices were good but you have to deal with girls that have no cedula or girls trying to snatch your stuff from your apt. The diffrence in price to me just wasn't worth it.

Hope this helps a little, looking forward to hearing about your trip.

Bummer to hear this, if accurate, as I have been talking up this place to my friend about the advantages of going here later in evening and avoiding the expensive earlier take out at LDV. This will be my 3rd trip to CTG and don't recall any alternatives at this late hour. Any suggestions?

If you hit the beach around El Laguito there should be some English speaking hustler types that can help you out with freelancers. Dolce Vita is also over that way and you can hit that spot at night. I'm sure others have much more information, as I have only been to CTG once, but you may have to go through this section carefully and take notes, which is what I did before I went.

Hi,

I am coming with a buddy at the end of June for 10 days. Bummer to hear this, if accurate, as I have been talking up this place to my friend about the advantages of going here later in evening and avoiding the expensive earlier take out at LDV. This will be my 3rd trip to CTG and don't recall any alternatives at this late hour. Any suggestions? To answer my own post, it was confirmed to me that Paprika (aka Electra) is indeed closed, perhaps permanently. Something about not having the right documentation or permits to be open. A girl from Pereira, who was hustling me at Cafe Havana, told me this last night. I walked by the street later in evening and nothing was going on.

Upon my arrival at the HOTEL Santa Clara / Sofitel, I was handed a piece of paper by the front desk informing me of their strict policy regarding guests. They are not even allowed in the pool area, much less your room. Though when I came to my room around 2 am, I wondered how the security person could discern if a girl accompanying me was a guest or visitor. As long as they are not dressed inappropriately, I think one could sneak someone in.

The usual action can be found at the clock tower at El Centro. Quite a few ladies trolling the area with some young and attractive girls in the mix along with the usual fuglies. The girl I met at Cafe Havana quoted me 300 k pesos for an hour at a love motel. She also was with a friend who offered a trio for an additional $300 k. Since I was not interested in the second girl (gordita), and only marginally interested in the first chica, I let it pass but wanted to gather some info on current pricing. But if I was interested, I could see negotiating later in week to $200 k for an 1 1/2 hour. This is about $106 USD; not including the hotel price.

Any thoughts from CTG experts one might expect to pay in the above scenario?

How would you experienced Cartagena mongers compare CTG to a place like DR (Sosua)? I have always been tempted by Cartagena, I speak basic spanish and can understand a conversation. I like Sosua because it's closer, cheap accommodations, and GFE has been good. For the value, I think it's great. But I am looking to travel to a new destination this year and have never been to Colombia. I've read a bit on the forums, and from what I can gather Colombia overall might be a little more expensive than DR, but quality of women may be higher (depends on what you're into obviously). I've seen people who visit DR say they love it, and would prefer it over Colombia for various reasons. And then others swear that Colombia cannot be beat. I am curious though if GFE exists or if it's more rare in CTG.

Thanks for the help!

I took a recent trip to CTG and to MDE. Had a great time. Although not the safest of places. Every gringo we ran into (very few), had been robbed. One of them was shot when he refused to part with his watch. LDV is an easy place to hookup with mostly pro and a few semi pro. The beach isn't very nice. No swimming because the hotels dump the sewage right into the water. We met some nice girls on the beach, with the help of the beach hustlers. We went to a few strip clubs, and casas in very questionable neighborhoods, but had great experiences there. Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Thanks Tomas be! For the update in intel there in CTG. A few things caught my attention from your post. So for this hobby an apt is always best. Especially if in El Laguito. Close to LDV close to the beach not far from San Martin ave. Close to groceries, late night food and ATM. I'm thinking you went to Pleyclub. The area there is really shady and you go through a bunch of neighborhoods and for tourists. Just doesn't feel right. Hotels are good for the novias. Apts are always best to bring back the girls at all hours of the night and sometimes more than 1 girl. Thats just my own personal experience. If you could tell us what places were not safe in CTG? Clocktower girls are usually my absolute last resort. I like Paprika but that seems to be closed now so not sure what will turn up next. The pricing you were quotes is very high. I never did TLN but for a few hours 200 k is more than enough. In some cases 80-100 for 1 hour is very doable. Ldv girls are hot! Most of the time 200 k for LDV girls is fine. Just have to be firm with them and take the lead. If she refuses another girl will take the $$. Maybe it will be more packed with Paprika closed. I will be there in Sept. For 2 days only the rest of the week will be novia time. Again thanks for your report. I will also post during my trip.

I will also post during my trip.I did not mention in the above post that the reason I am staying in this hotel is because my friend exchanged a time share in the US for one week at the Hotel Santa Clara. He invited me to join him and since it was no cost, I accepted. I thought there might be problems with bringing guests due to the nature of this hotel and was not surprised to discover their policies. That being said, I do have two extra nights next weekend and I am looking for a place that is GF. Someone on this site mentioned an apartment in El Centro near Bolivar Plaza, which I plan to visit today. Any other suggestions gladly noted.

Last night I went to the Clock Tower area. There were some attractive girls languishing on the benches, mostly engaged in conversations with their girlfriends. I noticed how unaggressive they are with only minimum eye contact. Very mellow scene later in evening though around sunset, most of the people in this area were tourists, children, etc. The girls in the game come much later in evening. I read RTFF on their pricing and around $100 k pesos might be the going rate though that info might be dated. I am looking to take a girl for a few hours to a love hotel (perhaps Las Dunas in Crespo). Does that price seem reasonable or should I expect to pay more for two hours? I suppose, in the end, much of it depends on our negotiating skills and whether the chica needs some cash.

Things will definitely cost more (from girls to accommodations). If you like what you see, you should consider going inland to Medellin and Bogota where the girls are much much cheaper, however they don't have the same beach atmosphere of CTG.

How small is LDV, I am going for 5 nights, the first two nights with 2 buddies and then the last 3 nights we have 12. Are we going to max out LDV. I have read Paprika is closed. This is our first trip to CTG, we have always gone to San Jose and Jaco (Coral) and there is no shortage of different ladies to try even with 12 in our group plus half of the ladies are from Colombia. So we thought we would go to the source. This forum and the post hot spot map which is awesome has give me my game plan. Playa Hollywood for some daytime action and numbers and then EL Dorado for massages and extras hopefully followed by bars and LDV.

Plus how aggregative do we need be, first move but do these ladies dress apart so we have an idea at the bars, I know LDV is all? With LDV and a few numbers I was hoping these girls would start hooking us up with their friends. We are talking about 40-50 ladies for this trip and I do not like sharing but some of the buddies are known for swooping in as you walk her out for a half price fuck.

Probably the size of the smaller room in the Del Rey. Towards the end of the week there are probably around 50 girls in there. You should each be able to find a girl you like. As for other bars. The working girls are usually standing outside alone or in groups of girls. If they are with guys, they are probably not working girls!

IMO the "massages" in CTG are overpriced rip off. As I recall about 180 k? And the girls are not all that. You could get casa girls in Medellin or Bogota for 30 k!

You should also check out the night time stripclubs ISIS and PleyClub. A little pricy but has some nice girls for a big group.

Also, just walk up and down the strip of Laguito during the early afternoon (2 pm-5 pm) and you'll see no shortage of working girls.

More importantly. Where are you staying and do any of you speak Spanish?

Have a blast and post a report!

Have a blast and post a report!I was there about two weeks ago for about 5 days and just happened to count the girls in the club because I was curious what the ratio was at the time. This was towards the end of the week of a "Festivo" weekend. At about 1 am in the morning there were about 25 girls in the club and there is always 5 to 10 outside either coming or going or smoking. We were a group of 4 to 5 and there were about 4 to 5 other guys in the club when we were there. I came up with a ratio of about 2 to 3:1 at any given time. The amount of girls was kinda of surprising as my experience had been similar to 40 to 50 as mentioned above.

The beach action was some of the lamest that I had every seen in the 10 years that I have been visiting. There were some LDV girls working the beach, and we met some that worked at some of other club that I had never heard of before. There were only 3 to 4 or LESS at any given time. You can always use that crazy MFR Tony or Jason to call somebody to the beach but that can be a hassle and a half.

We went down to the plaza down by the Clock Tower and it was hard to count the number but there were plenty. We even bumped into a few LDV girls working there.

One thing we learned while we were there, was that the apartment building above the Riquisimo Restaurant houses a bunch of girls. One of the oddest hook ups I have ever seen was by the Waiter of Riquisimo (Dressed like a Colombian Clown for the Soccer Match) help a guy out by brokering a deal with a chica at 11:30 am in the morning. LOL.

I went to the Reloj area last night. There appeared to be more women than the prior three nights and an attractive girl sat next to me on the benches with her friend. I eventually went with her to a short term hotel in El Centro and as it turns out, I had stayed at this hotel as a regular guest several years years ago though their name has been changed. It is now called Sol y Mar and is on the second floor behind a wrought iron gate. The general location direction is to walk up the street that ultimately leads to Plaza Madrid. It is on the left towards the end of the first block. Their rates are $25 k pesos per hour or about $14 USD. The rooms are clean, if small, with clean towels, a/c, tv, and showers.

My chica, named Andrea, was a young 22 year old hottie from CTG with long black hair and a smoking body. A real standout compared to most of what is available in this plaza. After some initial conversation, she first asked for $150 k pesos for an hour and $250 k for two hours. I initially made an excuse to leave to get more cash but returned twenty minutes later and proposed two hours for $200 k or $105 USD, which she accepted. Since, my hotel does not allow guests, I was initially concerned about having to travel outside of El Centro for a short term hotel so it is good to know about the Sol y Mar as an alternative liaison site.

Her services were generally good though with some oddities. She was relatively enthusiastic and provided two pops as to be expected for two hours. However, she did not allow DATY and in fact claimed to have never done this, even with her novio, if she has one. There was no BJ offered, covered or otherwise though I never asked for it but thinking it is not on menu so not sure if she does that either. Needless to say, there was no kissing either. Andrea had several other friends nearby so may try one of her other gal pals later in week who offer more varied services. Nevertheless, the short term hotel option skips the hassle of taking a taxi outside El Centro to find one. I also may get an apartment this weekend inside El Centro and bring more than one over of for TLN.

Overall, it was a relatively hassle free experience with a beautiful girl at a modest price. She even allowed a photo. I had been reluctant to try one of these girls in the Reloj area due to my reading of the board but also the quality seemed to be lacking. Last night was an improvement and now that I know the drill, I may skip LDV entirely. From what I hear and read on this board, I can expect to pay more and receive less.

Great comparison on LDV as the Del Ray smaller room. That helps a lot when I explain it to the guys, they should have an idea of the size and also the ratio post. Our Spanish is OK, maybe half are fluent speakers and the other half including me range from nothing to very broken Spanish. I personal struggle with conversations but determination will make up for that.

Worked with a few owners at the Palmetto to rent a floor, every one wanted their own room and it works out to about $100 per person per night. The owners of the ATPs have promised me our hobby will not be an issue. I did talk to the guy suggested from boards but we had to split up our group across floors and two buildings.

I have a feeling we will be at LDV every night, the easiness of it will win out even if it cost a little more but we will try ISIS and PleyClub and the Centro areas. Street walkers scare me (state side they are all trans) but I will give it a try based off the post. Planning on getting a lot of numbers and hope they bring friends or we hit a gold mine.

Based off want I have read even a smoking hot 9-10 that may start super high 300-400 k but in the end will do a short time for 100-200 k and TLN for 200-300 k. I am always looking for some partying and then 2-3 pops but want them out when I sleep.

That sucks to read about the beach action. I was looking forward to partying on the beach with some chicas, which is always a good time.

A massage is a most no matter where I go but I want a real massage versus a parlour. So Emily on the beach or El Dorado I believe.

Thanks for the help.

LDV is pretty small.

A little pricy but has some nice girls for a big group...

Since I enjoyed my most recent foray to the clock tower on Tuesday, I decided to try my luck again last night (see prior report). This time, around 9:30 pm, I sat with a friend of mine at one of the tables in front of Donde Fidel and ordered a few drinks. After about an hour, a nice looking trio of girls took a seat at the adjoining table. Immediately determining, they were in the game, I started to flirt with them and it was not long before my focus went to one chica who looked a bit like Phoebe Cates (Fast Times at Ridgemont High). Her name is Bridget and all three are from Barranquilla. She gave her age as 19. As with the girl noted in my Tuesday report, she quoted $300,000 k pesos for two hours. She claimed to like to kiss, which I immediately assumed was a lie as most of them do not offer this on menu. In CTG, in particular, they seem to be adverse to this level of intimacy.

I countered with $200 k, which she accepted immediately so basically the same price as Tuesday for same amount of time. Unfortunately, the short term hotel (Sol del Mar) I used on Tuesday was full. Even though space was available in a 1/2 hour, the receptionist recommended another 'economical' hotel on same street called Tropicana so we went there. Big mistake! The price at this place was half the Sol del Mar price (30 k) but for good reason. It's a real dump with a non working shower, no tp, tiny room, so would not use in future.

This girl was super hot. Basically a tight little spinner. Once in room, she sat on bed, pulled up her very short skirt and started playing with her unit through her virginal white lace panties and giving me little pouting looks. I started to stroke her gently through her panties but she would not allow some start-up DATY. Later on, I persuaded her to give me some time down there but then she up sold me. First, asking for an additional $50 k for the 'privilege'. I said that I only had $25k additional with me (true) so she relented and seemed to enjoy my little tongue party. Pretty sure she came. And a nice shaved and tasty unit it was...

But she really got into sucking my nipples and multiple positions. Once again, I left a happy man with two excellent sessions. So I consider myself two for two at the Clock Tower. So far, I see no reason to visit LDV but may do so tonight just for comparison sake. However, I doubt if I can get this type of service and quality looking chicas at LDV for the same price as the Clock Tower. Even so, one has to be patient at the Reloj for the right one to come along and it may be a quicker evaluation process at LDV.

I am quite discriminating and patient so it may have paid off. The first three nights in CTG, I did not approach anyone as I saw nothing appealing to me but perhaps it is improving as it gets nearer the weekend. As I have an apartment instead of a hotel this weekend, I may invite the girl from last night and one of her friends to go out to Club Havana or Tu Candela adjourning to my place later in evening. On the other hand, it's tempting to try someone else since there are so many available. It's an amazing cornocupia of selections.

Hope to add one or two more posts by my departure on Monday.

Tomasb, nice reports.

The clock tower area: Were you inside or outside the city walls? I think the benches you speak of are outside but there is a lot of traffic too. The bars must be inside? PM me if you prefer. Thank you.

Tomasb,

Glad you are enjoying yourself in the fine city of Cartagena.

Just my two cents, but I think with only a little more effort on your part you can enjoy the same ladies for a little less dinero.

200 k is no bargain, whether it's for one hours or two. So, adjust your thinking and tell yourself that you want to pay 100 k, will go to 150 k only for the right circumstance, but 200 k is the maximum you will pay for a rare stunner.

If you notice in your report you say "I countered with $200 k, which she accepted immediately". Well, of course she accepted immediately, she was probably thrilled to get that much.

They can start out at 3,4,500 k for all we care, what they start at is not important. Tell them you are used to paying 100 k, that you might be willing to pay them 120 k, etc.

Above all, be willing to walk away from any of them that want to play hardball. There are too many other options in Cartagena as you've already noticed.

Glad to hear your comments about pricing. I had asked about rates several days ago but received no responses so had to use my best judgement. For me, these rates are inexpensive when you consider there is no taxi, bar entry fees, and buying drinks.

Both of these girls are stunners so had no problem paying the price and their service was quite superb especially last night. I want the one from last night for TLN on Saturday but will not pay more than the amounts from the prior night for the two hours. If she rejects my offer, I will toss her back and find another.

Most of the girls are only worth about $100 k pesos or less as has been suggested. Either they have Lots of mileage or are gorditas or just low class. I could probably get even get the rare stunner for $150 k pesos or less depending on their evening traffic. So next time, I will throw out a lesser amount (below $200 k) and see what happens.

After all, all they can say is no.

Good points on the quality side of the equation. Historically, the clock tower was the lowest of the low quality wise, some pretty skanky ones mixed in with below average to average, as well as Trannies.

Seems lately some of the girls that are new to Cartagena are starting out there, that is where some of the quality is coming from. Pros coming and going to TuCandela can be found there as well, generally good quality.

She (Candy) wanted me to take her to Tu Candela and pay the $10 k cover for her. I declined. Then, she offered me an hour of her time for $100 k and again I declined. She is simply not that attractive plus I smell bad service. Pretty sure she would come down told on that price as The Shadow suggests but if it was free, I would have to think about it. I told her maybe tomorrow, which I will say to her until I leave. Her friend -- my date from Tuesday -- also came by during our conversation. She said 'bastante' to me after our initial greeting. Not sure if that was slang expression with some other meaning as I thought bastante means enough in English. Anyone know another use for this word?

My prop manager suggests that I go with him to Casa Rocio tonight. He says the girls are hot and available for take out for about $250 k for several hours. Anyone familiar with this place?

I went with her for 2 hours for two pops though I finished in about an 1 1/2. I bet a lot of tourists accept her opening bid of $150 k pesos without even countering. She was also totally cool about taking her photo in room.

I may throw that $100 k number at her for two hours when it is slower but she appeared very 'preocupada' last night. Her friend, the over the hill MILF, offered to go with me for an hour for that price.

10-20 girls, 5-9. I liked two girls there, and paid 150 k for one hour. The chicas were less hard core than LDV. I had some GFE.

These photos were from my last and next to last night in CTG. The girl in the skirt (from the first night) is the same as the one in lace panties with her voluptuous friend (from the second night). It was overall a pretty good trio except for the fact that the girl in the skirt quoted me a price that she indicated was for the both of them. It's an age old 'ho' trick. When we were finished, she wanted double the amount originally stated.

I protested and she quickly called the cops without my knowledge. I had to do the perp walk to an ATM at 1 am in the morning with cop and the girls trailing behind. I was told there was no other option except for going to the station. Since I neglected to check I'd's, I decided to pay rather than risk worse repercussions.

The one in the skirt goes by Sophie and can be found hanging around the Reloj. She is from Cali, 19 years, and claims to be a student studying textiles looking to make tuition money. I frankly think it's a ruse. I did not meet her at the Reloj but through a Cartagena acquaintance who, as it turns out, did not know her as well as he thought. He claimed she was a girl who rarely went out. Yeah right! As an identifier, she has a pair of lips tattooed on her butt, which you can see in one of the photos. Rather than the sweet innocent she portrays, she is actually hard-core. By the time you see the tat though, it is too late. LOL.

The other one was simply spectacular. Great kissing with me and her friend, an unbelievable body, DATY, 19 years old from Santa Marta. Never saw her at the Reloj area as the other one recommended her and brought her along for the trio. She was not involved in the upfront negotiations. They both say they live in the same building in Bocagrande. Her attitude seemed a bit hard-core too. Amazing how at 19, these girls are already seasoned veterans.

I'll probably end up in Boca or Laguito.

If Andrea was referring to the negotiation with her friend, I think in this case it means the 100 k is enough, but no more. She could have said "sufficiente" but that would have meant the negotiation is open to a little more than 100 k. She was telling you nicely that " dude, pay her the 100 k but don't let her talk you into more". Also because she used that particular word it appears there's a little competition or animosity between those two girls. She's definitely not doing her friend a favor.

You Can, Sunday was a Colombian holiday, that's why it was dead, Independence Day.The holiday may be the reason it was dead. However, a Colombian acquaintance who lives there told me a few weeks ago that LDV has been experiencing slow business for a while. Maybe their new and greedy price structure (buying X amount of drinks etc.) has finally caught up to them.

As many times as I been to ldv I honestly don't know what there price structure is. I always buy a big bottle of rum and all the mixers come with it. I always tip the 2 guys at door on my way out 10,000 peso each.

Never had a problem.

Hopefully tonight be good. I post in morning.

Thanks for letting me know about holiday. I know Sundays at club could be slow but that was brutal. Should have put more effort into beach work that day.

Don't know what happened but it's not good.As previously noted, I was told by locals it is not happening at LDV anymore plus Elektra is closed, probably for good. On my recent trip to CTG, I preferred hanging around Plaza Reloj (Coches) as it was a pretty mellow scene. After 10 pm, the girls start coming. For the most part, the talent is below par that you would find in LDV so you have to be patient and wait or hope for the odd gem. Obviously, more vetting is required and nearby short term hotels are better options unless you know or trust the girl.

Perhaps, LDV will be better as it gets closer to weekend so let us know. If it is dead next weekend, that would speak volumes.

Hey,

What's going on guys?

Making my way back to Colombia in 5 years. It will be my first time in Cartagena. I been to Medellin and Cali quite bit of times. So Cartagena is new to me.

As far as accommodations is concern, Is wall city or old town a good place to stay?? That is close to all regular non pro clubs, restaurants and shopping? How long is a taxi ride to LDV? Are there plenty of strip clubs in old town area?

One of my friend is going to Cartagena mainly for the pros! You think its best for him to stay near LDV in Bocagrande / Laguito?

Thanks, let me know.

Cheers!

Anymore updates on how LDV has been the past couple days? I'll probably be in Cartagena from August 6 to 10, first time back there in probably a year and a half, hopefully things haven't gone to complete shit!

Besides LDV and and with Paprika shutting down, are there any other bars that have picked up the freelance p4 p scene? Any good traction at Tu Candela, Babar or Fragma as of late? Thanks!

Went 5 days in mid-July. Took a Colombian girlfriend for 3 days and explored the hobby action for 2 days. Here is my report.

Hobby action (pro).

There are many places to find women.

Playa Hollywood.

Some girls go there when they got nothing to do or when they do not have hungover from the day before. Every day is different. One day you can find more girls (10 approx) and another day there are less (2 to none). It depends on luck, I guess. I noticed that there are many families on both Saturdays and Sundays, which makes it difficult to find women. I went there on a Wednesday and saw many available girls. How to identify available women? Easy, women alone or in groups. If you see a nice woman with a gringo, chances are she is busy. Another way to find women is to ask a guy named Tony to bring them to you. He knows all women at the beach. As soon as he sees a working girl at the beach, she is on his radar. I will talk about this guy Tony later. Quality of women varies. I never found a 10. However, I saw a couple of doable (7-8). Prices at the beach varies. Average is 100,000 pesos = 50 USD approx.

How is the game at the beach? Well, you can sit down, pay for chairs and umbrella and ask Tony to bring women to you. You can also just walk and talk to the girls that you see available, with no Tony involved (cheaper and I did this). You can also bring your drinks in a case / cooler (I tried but it was a nuisance to find a cooler). You can also ask Tony to bring drinks to you (I do not recommend this). You can also just walk without drinks, talk to girls and take them to another place for drinks (I did this).

Tony. This is one of the sons of the devil. He is a dark overweight Colombian. He is extremely extrovert. He is kind of the leader in the only kiosk / bar in the section of the beach where women hang around. As soon as you walk, he will see you and come to you. He sees everything on the beach. He speaks English. He uses lots of bad words. He is dirty. Never shake his hand or wash your hand immediately if you do it. I saw him sneeze in his hand, spit on his hand, etc. It is a gross guy. He will try to get as much money as he can from you. Anything that he does, he will charge you for it. If he brings you a drink, he will add a lot on top of the normal price (almost triple or more). He will drink beers and make you pay for them. Be careful with this guy. I was well informed before dealing with him and kind of knew how to deal with him. I sat down at the kiosk / bar at the beach and analysed this son of the devil. If you go for a session with a girl he introduces to you, he will get a commission (I think 20,000 pesos = 10 USD approx. , not really sure). Would I use Tony? Maybe just to introduce girls to me if I do not see any available. If a nice girl is at the beach even with someone, he will get there and bring her to you. One day I walked on the beach and did not see girls, asked Tony and I do not know where he brought like 6 sitting on the beach which I had not seen. He knows exactly where is everyone sitting.

Additional comments. I saw police presence at the beach and never saw a robbery. The beach is not nice. Not nice water, not nice sand. It is very hot. I found that the best time to hit the beach is 4-6 pm since there is less heat. However, women might be busy at that time. It depends on the luck. Another comment: Playa Hollywood is comprised of two sections: 1 for pro-girls and 1 for gays. Ensure you get a chair in the section which best suits your taste.

La Dolce Vita (LDV).

It is a bar with beautiful working freelancers girls. Quantity is about 20-30 girls. Quality is from 7 to 10. I saw like three 10's. Usually, there are more women than men. Best time to hit this place is 11-12:30. After 1 AM it starts to slow down. At 12 it is at its peak. I met 3 girls at this place. Saw more than 5 that I would do. Prices vary, it usually starts at 300,000 pesos = 150 USD. Prices of the drinks are similar to north America. E. g. , beer 7,000 pesos, rum and coke 7,500 pesos, shot of fine aguardiente 12,000 pesos.

Torre del Reloj (clock tower).

This is an open area, like a mini square. There are benches. There are lots of girls. Quality is usually not good, although you can find a hidden gem, if you are patient. Re: quality, I saw many 4-7 and a couple of 9's. Prices are cheap here (100,000 pesos = 50 USD). There are also lots of bums and bad Colombians males. There is also kind of strong police presence. Safety seems to be under control before 4 AM. After 4 AM it can get dangerous since the police leaves. Girls are even scared to be there after 4 am.

Tu Candela.

Rumor has it that there are freelancers in this place. It is a bar / club with the best atmosphere, in my opinion. I went to 3 other places (Mr. Babillia, Fragma, etc.) and Tu Candela had the best atmosphere. However, there are more men than women. I saw mixed groups and only a few women (4?) in groups of 2. I met a woman outside Tu Candela and told me that there are freelancers in this club but most times men meet them there and immediately start the party with them. Likewise, men meet women at another place and invite them to party to Candela. I never got lucky here because all women were busy with men. Note: no single women are allowed in this place (there are exceptions of course) and many of the girls outside in the clock tower are not allowed to get in. It seems that the owner has a strong policy. He allows only good quality freelancers (this is what a girl I took told me). BTW, I did not pay cover charge to get in (2 nights) and women have to pay like 20,000 pesos = 10 USD. Weird, huh?

Additional places to find women.

Some colleagues mentioned in this forum that sometimes you can find women walking by the main street San Martin in the Bocagrande area or in the Laguito area. I walked in San Martin from 6 to 8 pm and really enjoyed the walk. Lots of regular people, coffee shops, restaurants, buses for tourist, etc. I saw beautiful girls (Non Pro) in a very nice Colombian coffee shop named Juan Valdez. But I did not see PRO girls in San Martin, maybe I was not lucky. However, I walked on the main street during the day in the Laguito area and yes I saw working girls and even talked to some of them and got some numbers. Next time, I would walk, find a small bar / restaurant by the street, sit down, grab a beer and watch women walking by. BTW, a working girl told me that some women go to a place named Cafe Napoleon after the beach to find gringos; however, I could not find it.

Women in general.

Are Colombian women beautiful? Yes, but obviously not all women. Are they the most beautiful? I am not sure. I have seen beautiful girls in north America as well. I have been to Cuba, Costa Rica, Brazil and now Colombia. I have seen beautiful girls in all those places. I like curvy. I think maybe Cubans, Jamaicans, Caribbeans and north American tend to be more curvy, Brazilians in second. Do Colombian women provide good service? Well, I got nice service, not the best but nice service. Maybe Brazilian and some north American women have provided me the best service. But north American women are expensiveBTW, I find incredible that pro girls are very cheap in Latin / South America compared to north America (100 USD in South America to 500 USD in north America for a 9-10 girl). Anyways, I will post in different forum my comparison of hobbying in all those places.

Note: my Colombian girlfriend told me that both Colombian and Venezuelan women are very horny. They love sex. They talk about sex. They cheat on their husbands / boyfriends. She even told me that her neighbour (married regular family female) lets another neighbour fuck her while for some $ while his husband is working. Anyways, funny stories she told me. Conclusion: those women are horny, which I like very much)).

Hotels.

I stayed at Dann. It was ok. Service was good. It is the only hotel with direct access to Playa Hollywood and free chairs and umbrellas. However, the hotel is not chica friendly at all. They are very strict and I understand. It is a family oriented hotel. I saw many families with little kids. What I did for hobby was I used a short term hotel named Sol why Mar just a few steps from Tu Candela and the clock tower. I paid 30,000 pesos = 15 USD for 1 hour which was enough. Do not expect a nice hotel, though. Just the necessary. There are more short term hotels. Just ask the girl or the taxi driver. They all know them. Next time, I might use an apartment if I want to spend more time with a pro and have a GFE. But if you just want short term, a short term hotel will do.

Restaurants.

You can find very nice restaurants. I went to a French named Restaurante 1621 and it is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. You can use trip advisor to find good ones. There are also low profile restaurants. I also mentioned a very nice Colombian Coffee shop named Juan Valdez where you can see regular people. I saw beautiful girls here. BTW, before you leave your country ensure you get vaccinations. I got stomach flu down there. I do not know what I ate or if it was the ice in my rums.

Cartagena, the city.

I liked downtown Cartagena very much. I like the architecture. It is very small though. I think in 2 hrs you can walk and know everything. I liked the atmosphere. It was nice to see regular people walking on the streets. I liked the live music on the streets as well. If you meet a nice girl, it is a nice idea to bring her down there for an evening. I also felt safe except when I went out of a short term hotel at 5 am.

Safety.

I was really afraid of going to Colombia for a number of reasons. However, I felt very safe in Cartagena. Lots of police presence, maybe that's why. Kudos to the mayor of Cartagena and the Colombian government for this. It is hard to balance prostitution and safety. Well, this place does it. I hope our first world leaders learn the positive aspects of this hobby model. It is the place in my list for hobby where I have felt the safest.

Would I repeat? Mmmmmmmm. Not in the short run.

Nice report and I can agree on virtually everything you said. I think, however, that I paid more for the short term hotel at Sol why Mar than you so perhaps it depends on how busy they are or how hot your girl is. LOL.

Much has been written about the infamous Tony on this board but you just updated for everyone that nothing has changed with that guy. I never like to go to Playa Hollywood for the reasons you mentioned and never had the misfortune to meet him since I avoid the place. It is hot, dirty, and generally crowded. Plus, I only saw skanky girls when I went.

One part of El Centro I enjoy is strolling the streets during the day. Many beautiful woman who are not on the make, lots of energy, and an overall good vibe.

It's true about Tu Candela and also Havana Club that they are quite discriminating about what girls are allowed in. On my last visit, I did meet two chicas of middling quality in the Havana Club. They wanted $600 k for the two of them but were trying to be quite discrete about it. Both from the coffee axis region. I passed but pretty sure they get business out of there.

Would you guys recommend getting a normal hotel (likely not girl-friendly) and just visit short-term hotels with a chica? I have read that apartments are recommended, but I am so used to staying at hotels and getting service etc.

I am planning on visiting in the next couple weeks for 3 days. Not much time, but honestly. Being in North America, I always feel that any place on this side of the hemisphere, if the sole or primary reason for travel is for mongering than the 3 day plan is usually sufficient. I was concerned about safety in Colombia at first. Just like I was extremely concerned about safety in Buenos Aires, Sosua, Santo Domingo, St. Maarten, Barcelona, Amsterdam, etc. But from everything I have read, it appears Cartagena is extremely safe and as long as you use common sense and do not flash wealth, or get drunk, and put yourself in a situation to be taken advantage of. Then there is not much to worry about. Correct?

My spanish is still basic, although I am able to understand fairly well and I'm getting better at speaking. I've read that Cartagena is probably better for basic spanish speakers than a place like Bogota or Medellin, where the basic level will not suffice. If anyone can confirm or share their experiences if they are basic spanish speakers, that would be much appreciated!

Even if you use 2-3 word sentences to communicate ideas, this should be enough. It sounds like you are at this level or above. Tell the girls to speak slowly and stop after every 10 words if needed. Also, tell them to use basic Spanish words when speaking with you.

Colombian women are some of the most attention deficit in the world. Colombia is a YMMV mongering destination in a big way. Intelligence is rewarded and stupidity is penalized. You have to assert yourself and "push" these girls to respect the things that are important to you. If you can do this successfully, you will love mongering in Colombia. If you can't, you will experience the selfishness of Colombian woman and will wish you were just about anywhere else. Colombia is just this simple IMHO.

I rather like the idea of the short term hotel. My experience with the chicas in Torre de Reloj suggests that they are not into TLN anyway and are more interesting in churning clients, plus might be expected home at some point in the early morning hours. Not to mention you will not be concerned with things missing in your hotel room.

As far as safety, El Centro has to be one of the safest destinations in all of South America tourist spots IMO. This is not so much to protect devotees of our hobby, but to protect normal tourists and their families. Before 10 pm, this particular plaza is awash with tourists embarking on horse coach rides, evening strolls, etc. But as the other recent post mentioned, I would not want to be in this area after 4 am.

You can survive with minimum Spanish as long as a situation does not demand that you speak more fluently and sometimes that can happen in post or pre negotiations. You could always insist that the price and terms (I. E. Number of times / duration) are typed into your cellphone to ensure no misunderstanding. Sometimes girls will type the price in their phone but just try to retrieve that information from them later. Most police I have encountered do not speak English and the same definitely holds true for the chicas. In LDV, some girls speak English, though this suggests a certain level of professionalism for better or worse.

Tu Candela.

... Weird, huh?My experience is from a Sunday night in early October 2013, maybe not totally reflective now but I seem to have witnessed what you described.

I met this pair of girls (one English speaker, one none) and they invited me to party to Tu Candela, I got a bottle, then we all went to the short term hotel (love motel as I would call it).

I imagine no single girls not being allowed is due to the place being a fairly small one (as far as I remember, at least the second floor) and no point overcrowding the place with girls not buying single drinks, when instead you could get the rich bottle opening clientèle. Obviously this is just my two cents.

I'm looking to travel to Cartagena next weekend, would be my first time in Colombia! I have a couple questions and would appreciate any advice:

I'm flying with Avianca from the US and have a change of flights in Bogota. How is transiting in Bogota? Do I have to collect my checked-in luggage and drop off? How bad is the wait in passport control / immigration? My flight arrives in Bogota around 7:15 PM. The time between flights is about 2 and half hours. It's my first experience with airports in Bogota, I've read about arriving early for international flights by as much as 3-4 hours and the lengthy process and security checks. But do not know how transiting through Bogota is and what it entails.

Hotel suggestions. I'm going with the strategy of staying at a regular hotel for my first time and taking a girl to love motels for short time. I thought about going with an apartment, but I'd like to try that next time perhaps. Overall hotel costs in CTG are not bad, and I prefer not having to worry about my belongings so I'll try love motels. What's the most convenient area to stay at? This is just a 3 day trip, during the daytime I might try to check out the action if available. Maybe at the beach. But I like to do the whole touristy thing as well, check out some sights, dining scene, etc. But I would also like to be close to the action and preferably within walking distance of chica bars / clubs or a quick cab ride away.

Any suggestions / advice is greatly appreciated. If you have any other tips as far as daytime action, that would be appreciated as well. Thanks, this forum really makes things a lot easier.

Your bags should be checked all the way to CTG. You don't see your bags or immigration until your final destination. CTG.

Just make sure you don't miss your flight to CTG Puntz79 cause last April on my way to Cancun with the novia we missed our flight so we had to go from Bogota to San salvador then finally Cancun.

Our bags stayed overnight in Bogota and when the Copa airlines worker brought us our luggages the day after the novia said she was missing some underwear and stuff I thought she was mistaken.

Or didn't remember what she had brought so after thoroughly checking mine I noticed my RUSH, METALLICA and NWA t-shirts were missing. !

I am still pissed off till this day.

I decided I'd stay in Centro, was very close to picking something in Bocagrande but staying in Centro gives me more of an opportunity to experience the city without being in a cab as I prefer to walk around and do some sight seeing.

What are the best options? I've read about the Clock Tower, and there are a few bars in the area correct? Tu Candela etc, and Mister Babilla but I think that is just outside the walls. As for daytime action, are there are good options in Centro or is it all at the beach?

Just my two cents.

The flight is too long.

Stay overnight in Bogota.

Get laid and go to Cartagena the next day.

Get laid and go to Cartagena the next day. From where I am, the flight to Bogota is 3 hours. Maybe 3. 5. Onwards connection to CTG is just an hour.

However, I am giving serious consideration to staying a night in Bogota on my way back. I've read that there is a tolerance zone in Bogota, but not exactly the safest place to be walking. I've thought about escort options, has anyone tried in Bogota?

Or, maybe the better questions is. If you had one night in Bogota for mongering. What would you do?

Your bags should be checked all the way to CTG. You don't see your bags or immigration until your final destination. CTG.That's not correct. Bogota is the port of entry: after immigration, you need to collect bags (checked in to the final destination) and pass the customs. After that, you leave them to the desk where they will route them to the final destination.

2. 5 hours is more than enough: the BOG airport is very efficient. Also, both flights are Avianca. Please note that since this year domestic Avianca flights DO NOT leave from Puente Aereo, but from the same international airport where you land.

By the time you get to Cartagena and check in you will be too tired to go out and check the city out.

You want to do that in the day time.

Stay in Zona Rosa area in Bogota.

Great safe area to start.

Check My Map, there are many places close by.

You can walk to these:

17. Chicas Milenio, Calle 71 # 14 A-20.30 Chicas in Shifts. Prices: 30 k 20 min. , 40 k 30 min. , 60 k hour. Tel: 249 2927,312 5074. Hours: 9 am to 3 am. (#4 on Tung's Chapinero Map).

Your baggage that you check in Miami is sent to Cartagena unless you ask to get it in Bogota. They will xray it in Bogota (I assume) then it is put on the plane with you, hopefully. I have done this for many times, including today. Occasionally there will be an inspection in Cartagena, but not often.

Thanks for the great info so far. I have to admit I am still a little confused on the bags being checked all the way to CTG and no need to collect them in BOG. Research apart from this forum is mixed on it as well, some say it works the same as the USA but slightly more seem to say you actually don't see your bags until CTG. Interesting. I guess I will find out soon, on Thursday.

With staying in a normal hotel in Centro, what are the best daytime spots? Is LDV worth the can ride to Bocagrande, or should I find plenty of action in Centro around the Clock Tower and other bars in the same area? For short time hotels, is there one that is close by in Centro?

I was really tempted on stopping in BOG overnight on the way to CTG but as my tickets have already been bought I cannot cha he now. I usually don't sleep until later on average anyways so I am not expecting to be tired but travel always takes a little bit of a toll. I may just give BOG a go on my way back. Zona Rosa seems very safe, the safety thing always makes me think. But I always feel that those who are too used to feeling secure at all times when walking in Western Nations will always feel less secure in a foreign country even if there is nothing around them to worry about.

Not much day time action, except the beach in Boca and maybe the clock tower. Everything is at night, even most of the brothels are night time.

That's is why Bogota, Medellin or Cali are better spots for Mongers. Cartagena is better for tourists. Too expensive.

You are going from International to National. It does not make sense that you can send your bags through. You still have to go through customs in Bogota. Why do it twice?

I just checked, and I discovered that CTG can be also port of international entry (there are direct flights for example MIA-CTG). Therefore, the CTG airport has customs and, presumably, it must be possible to send baggages straight to CTG without passing customs in BOG, as I wrote before. I must say that I never did that. In the past, they asked me to take luggage, pass customs, and then leave them at the desk for delivery to the final destination.
Also, I wonder HOW it could be possible to discriminate my luggage at the CTG airport, once I arrive at the domestic gate with a domestic flight and the luggage it is put on the belt with all other luggage of the domestic flight BOG-CTG.

REgardless this can happen or not, what I wrote applies entirely for ANY connection from international to domestic flight via BOG, when the final destination is NOT an international port of entry.

Unless customs in Bogota strongly suspects a problem you never see the customs guy. Been doing it for 10 years. Actually you can also ck luggage in cartagena to miami via Bogota. WOW...!

FYI, the small desk where you leave the form (I assume you filled it every time), at the exit of the large area for baggage claim at the BOG airport, *IS INDEED* the custom desk. The guy/lady who receives the form from your hands is a DIAN officer.

You can check the luggage in MIA directly to CTG via BOG (or return), because (as I wrote yesterday), also CTG is an international port of entry. There are direct flights MIA-CTG, for example. This does not exempt you from filling in the DIA form and returning it to a DIAN officer (customs). The fact that controls are usually very relaxed does not mean there are no customs there. Otherwise, smuggling would be too easy, obvious indeed.

Here is what happened, as I arrived into CTG on Thursday night going through BOG all with Avianca. I saw mixed information with some saying the process is exactly the same as in the USA with going through passport control on your port of entry, and then picking up your checked-in luggage from baggage claim and then going through customs, and then giving your bag to the airline desk for the domestic connection. It did not work like that, and here is my experience.

I filled out a customs form and on arrival at BOG, went through immigration which took about 15 minutes (not that big of a line and it moved fairly quickly), got stamped. Went to baggage claim, and asked someone at baggage tracking if I have to collect my bags here. She asked for my baggage sticker / ticket and when she saw that I arrived on an international flight and was connecting in BOG with Avianca, she said my bags will not come out here. I asked if she was 100% sure, because I did not want to risk dealing with any misinformation and having my bag left behind, and she said yes. As I had nothing to declare I went to that line, gave my form to the agent collecting them and glancing them and went to the Terminal 1 domestic side. My bags showed up in Cartagena, and did not come out in Bogota at all. I waited around at the carousel a good 15 minutes after the other pax checked-in luggage from my flight was coming out but I never saw my bag. I took that as a sign that it does indeed come out at your final destination in the country. So while you do give your customs declaration form in at BOG, you do not see your bags until CTG. It's definitely different than how it is when you arrive in the United States. And at CTG, I just collected my bag once it came out and walked straight through the exit and to the taxi stand. Honestly I'd say it was a very smooth experience.

On to my mongering experience, I did the clock tower area last night and a little bit the first night. It's my first time in CTG, and there were definitely a good number of street walkers and it dwindles down as the night goes on although in the plaza around the reloj it was still busy. As for the quality, it will depend on what appeals to you. While I did see a few 8's and 9's, a good majority were 5's and 6's. There were also a few who I would not even give a second look to, but everyone has their own tastes. I will share more later this weekend as my trip wraps up, CTG is definitely better for tourists as there's a good bit to see during the daytime especially in Centro. The walled city is definitely unique and worth checking out, even in the intense heat. The daytime action in Centro, well. There does not seem to be much really. The street vendors can be annoying, but I have not had much issues. A simple no gracias does it, one did persist but as I continued to walk away he moved on to the next tourist. Most of them did not bother. Oh and as for safety, plenty of police in Centro. I have felt completely safe so far but as always, everyone should take precautions and be aware of their surroundings.

TOMBASB.

Thanks for the great report on 7/29/14. This may have been the best report I have read on ISG. For some time I have considered a trip to CTG but the reports were inconsistant, one good and the next bad. Your report covered all angles. I like that. You tried to give a fare analysis and let others decide. Thanks.

Years ago I was spending hours in writing long reports divided in sections about CTG, what to do, where to go, etc. Scroll back 2-3-4-5 years and you find it. From the RoD section it will be easier.

I'll be there for a week. First timer. I'm pretty excited, kind of nervous but excited.

I am going to read through this post and get some knowledge before my trip. Just wanted to say Hi and thanks in advance for anyone's advice they may give.

My advice: if you haven't already done so, contact Juan Ventura to inquire about what apartment (s) he has available that fits your dates. Renting an apartment through Juan will help ease some of the natural nervousness of a first trip to Cartagena.

Disclosure: I do not have a financial interest in any of Juan's apartments, nor do I receive any type of referral fee. I consider Juan a friend and he is truly a good guy who is trustworthy and manages apartments professionally.

BUT, it's better you and others stop to repeat his name here. We don't really want Juan's apartments become ISG Readers' domain. He does not deserve that :-D

Is the Sofitel girl friendly? Or any chance to sneak in companions, if not dressed too slutty?

Any experience?

I am planning a one week trip to Cartagena.

Where should I stay? I like hotels but I rather stay in a beachfront apartment. Any nice hotels chica friendly? I have read about this Juan Ventura guy, can someone send me his email or contact number? Is it possible to find nice looking girls for less than $100?

I want to do tourist stuff as well. Spanish is not an issue since is my native language. I am recently divorced, I would like to find a nice 8 to 10 girl to spends the whole week with me. Can I find good material in the beach?

Thanks,

Ivan

I have not been to CTG in about a year but have made many trips in the past. A few years back I was there for a week and Elektra was closed for remodeling so the cigarette guy at the door of the LDV said. At that time they left the LDV open a couple extra hours. Does anyone know if they are leaving the LDV open longer now with Elektra closedown?

Have never been to CTG for SS but have been to many other Latin countries during this period. The usual chain of events is to stay home with relatives until Good Friday late afternoon or Saturday morning and then head to the beach for two or three days. CTG being a popular beach destination should be very busy. Your problem will be to sift out the chicas who are there without family and are looking to party. I guessing there will be plenty of prepagos, semi-pros and non pros alike.

Like the previous poster wrote, there will be non pros on vacation, however, that week they're into the family and religous thing.

Myself, like I said, I avoid that week for PFP fun.

Myself, like I said, I avoid that week for PFP fun.I agree, and honestly speaking, its the riff raff that is normally available during this time. The good looking ones are either with their family or loved ones, the ones on drugs or just on the border line of living you will find. Not a good time to go.

(I mean for those who are long-time regs of CTG.).

If I am with a friend and a small group of good fun girls, what is the best beach / island where I could go with a lancha for a fun day tour?

I tried 2-3 places in the past, and I would not return in none of them.

Baru Island Play Blanca. Have you been there? Not yet, and that is exactly the place I was considering! Cholon?

I was frankly angry, instead, when I went to the Cocoliso resort, when I was lured there by some good promoter. For swimming, only 5 meters of beach and a swimming pool. One whole day wasted. On the same tour, there were several Colombians who liked it, on the other hand.

Then another 20 minutes to Islas de Rosario. There is an aquarium there (don't know if it's any good. Didn't go inside). Outside they sell fresh lobsters and crab (I believe for 10 k). After a couple hours there, you go back to Playa Blanca for another couple of hours before heading back to mainland. They pick you up at the hotel to get there but going back you need to get a taxi.

Does anybody have other maps or can confirm if the info on the map is not outdated?

I plan on getting Pueblito Playa hotel. As somebody said it was chica friendly. I found it on booking com and it seems good. Is there a better chica friendly option? Also I plan to stay few days in walled city. Is there a cheap but OK hotel with no chica fees or reasonable chica fees?
