I smell another Centro rat.
Sorry to hear about the taxi and ATM problems. Using uber might be easier for you. There is even an option to select English speaking drivers.
My trip so far haven't been the best so far due to wierd instances with the taxi and me buying data for 40 k pesos and immediately mistakingly pressing the button the update samsung and I'm also having issues withdrawing $ using my ATM. My bank told one of my family members that I not only have to inform them in advance but also call them while I'm there and tis not ez to make intl calls from here, sigh.
.Not only is it handy being able to choose English speaker on Uber but also if you plug in the address you really do not even need to talk to the Uber driver much. I also noticed that all Uber drivers are using GPS, only some Taxi drivers were. I used a mix of Taxi and Uber. I only got seriously aggravated with one taxi driver, he turned what should have been a 3/4 mile trip into over 2 miles at a time when I was trying to ditch a drunk chica who was causing me to be annoyed anyway. I honestly don't think he did it on purpose but if he had GPS it would not have happen. I ended up having to give him directions and my Spanish skills are not great but luckily I have gire a la izquierda why gire a la derecha aqui. So I think if you are limited in Spanish, Uber can be a better option.

I had to call a you. S visa # at which point they tranfered me to my bank in Jamaica and I can get $ now via ATM so no mas problemas.

For me and my experiences I have found that while money is the most important factor. With all of them I have met in the past and currently know several who are less jaded than most and who appreciate the more friendly nature and environment. I prefer to build some level of chemistry because for me it makes the time far more enjoyable and if a girl is not interested in that style than its my choice if I want to continue. What ambience? You are telling him to go to skidrow nearby; Botero, and El Raudel have a safe festive ambiences for the most part, with police and security guard presence. If the area is small stay in that area. Each time I go to Botero I see foreigners having a good time, even senior citizens speaking English. Clearly, the city gov has an interest in keeping that area safe for tourists to spend money. I've been there at night with no problems (up till 10 pm, not 12-3 am to be specific; I prefer not to stay out late in Mede where it's easy to score in the day, unlike LOS Angeles where you have to stay out till 3 am.) But yeah stay away from skidrow, or areas where it's not necessary to go to.

If you've already gotten your feet wet in El Centro, don't bother with P. Lleras. The two times I visited Llleras it was mostly foreigners, and locals trying to sell trinkets or panhandeling. The beggars were aggressive and wouldn't take small coins, they demanded a 2 K note! Even up to 8 pm when I left, it was mostly dead--El Centro has more activity at noon. Parque Lleras is for people who don't know Spanish, want a safe haven, and don't mind paying 250 K for a chica. It is a good place to meet and have random conversations with foreigners though. If you're missing out on anything it's at La Mayorista, just south of Lleras. La Mayorista is one block of bars and hotels with SWs at local rates, is worth checking out, especially if you happen to be in the south of the city, since it's quite a ways from El Centro.

I rarely run into words I don't already know (I've done a few months of immersion Spanish in schools) but it does help keep in a bit of practice I think. And sentences are always a good way to improve speaking ability I think.

I took it a long time ago for depression and once you're on it for a while it really slooooooooows you down. So I have also taken it when I travel. To slow me down. But I find I have to take it for a few days first. And if I miss a pill its right back to the 30 second session. So a bit tricky for me. I believe it was a good market for the Venezuelans up until about a year and a half ago, as they would undercut the Colombians and steal their customers away from them. Now the Venezuelans are having to undercut one another, in addition to the Colombians, and because of the sheer numbers of Venezuelans showing up at ground zero, the prices are going down further as you experienced. As I stated in my post, a Venezuelan told me the other day that there were Venezuelans quoting as low as 10-15 K, not the cream of the crop of course, but the Fuglies.
So just imagine what a bonanza it is for guys that will go with anything that moves and pays 15 K for a fuglie, plus 5 K for a room, there at 20 K or about $ 6 USD.

As far as pricing, were those prices for SW's you were getting up to almost three years ago? I have never gotten quotes from any of the SW's in EL Centro in the 50 to 60 K range for a rato. I have been quoted as low as 15 K up to 35 K by the Colombians within the last three years. I think you got it right. I personally don't go to salsa clubs or discos because they bore me. I would rather read a book, fuck, or enjoy a good meal (something without arepas and deep fried items).

Note that I say it's an exaggeration rather than an untruth. It is more important in direct proportion to how much time we spend with girls who hang out in discos and clubs. People who have weekday jobs can't go clubbing (rumbear) as often as those who don't or who make their living in clubs.

I was wondering if anyone had some hotel recommendations for where to stay in Medellin for a good mongering trip. I have been reading alot on the forum and it seems getting a hotel in the 50-60 $ price range per night near El Pobldo and Parque Lleras seems to be the best option. I also don't plan on bringing any WGs back to my hotel but rather just take them to a short time hotel. Is this the best way to do things in Medellin? Just got back from a 10 day vacation last week and I had a great time! Thanks to all of the people who have posted insightful information over the past few months, it really helped me on my trip. This was my first trip ever to Colombia. I decided to stay in Laureles (actually Florida Nueva, just posted in the Hotels thread). Of all of the different ways to see chicas in Medellin, I went with visiting casas and strip clubs, as opposed to SW and FB. This worked great for me! I would go once in the morning and again at night. That's about all I can handle these days. Going to the various places was a good way to tour the city. Such a beautiful city. It was different in real life from what I had imagined reading about it ahead of time. On the one hand is El Poblado, which is as nice as any fancy neighborhood anywhere in the world. And on the other hand, El Centro (especially at night) was a little grittier than I had expected from reading about it. I walked all around El Centro in the daytime, even got lost walking around. I felt ok in the daytime, even though I knew it wasn't 100% safe. But in the cab at night, I saw some scenes of mobs of people picking through the trash that I never would have imagined ahead of time. Anyway, I will recap my specific visits in other posts so as to not write one giant post. I will also post a few threads in the chit-chat section. Oh, and a big thanks to World Traveler, who created a map and list of casas and strip clubs. I really used this information a lot. Hopefully some of my recent information can be used to update the list a little, and will be helpful to others.
This is a recap of my first few days in Medellin last week: I got to my hotel in Laureles, checked in around 8 pm and went for a walk. People who are familiar with the area might find this funny-- I got turned around and walked several blocks down Calle 44 (San Juan) thinking it was supposed to be the beautiful La Setenta. I'm asking myself what the big deal is supposed to be. I finally hail a cab and tell him to go to Fase Dos. I figured this would be a safe place to go since it was my first night and I really didn't have my feet wet, yet. Cab driver had no idea what he was doing, even though I gave him the address off of google. Drove around for a while trying to find it. Finally got there. It would have bothered me that the fare was higher because the cab driver couldn't find the place, except for the fact that it was so cheap anyways. What's the point of arguing over 3,000 pesos when that's less than $1. Anyway, Fase Dos kind of set the bar low for my first experience in Medellin. It was the only bad time I had all week. Sat at the bar next to one of the girls. Bought her a few drinks. Drinks for the girls are something like 30 k. Ended up buying her 3 drinks, then we go to the room. 210 k for 30 min. Her service was not very good. Kept saying, hurry papi leche papi. This is a pet peeve of mine, drives me nuts. Maybe I was just tired from getting up at 4 am and travelling all day, but I can't nut. Times up. Take a quick shower there and head back to the hotel. Again, this whole episode would have upset me more but the damage still came to around $100, which is a cheap night out at any US strip club. This was my most expensive night out of the whole trip, by the way. The next morning I went to the casa Energy. Saw Marcela there. This girl was amazing. I thought to myself, this girl is worth flying 7 hours to come see. Already the whole vacation was worth it. Cost was 150,000 pesos, which is less than $50. Unbelievable. That's pretty much what I paid the girls in Sosua, DR on my vacation last year, and this girl blew all of those girls out of the water. Speaking of blew, all the girls in Medellin give great head. Marcela was amazing. Great deep throat. Later this night I went to see the local soccer team Athletico National play in the stadium not far from my hotel. Had a great time! I kept myself so busy all week, that I just never made time to come back during a better time and try. Anyway, New Life is a great place, as has been mentioned several times on this board already. Solid lineup. Maybe not as many 8's - 10's as other places, but I chose Jimena who was very cute and petite. Had a great time for 52,000 pesos, which is less than $16. Absolutely unbelievable. Sunday night I went to Apoteosis Club, which was nearby my hotel. This is a strip club in the Laureles area on Calle 44 (San Juan). I think I might have been charged gringo prices. Either that or the quotes on World Travel 69's list are out of date. Instead of 80 k / HR, I paid 150 k / HR. But I had a nice time. I forget the girl's name. Great session, and the staff was nice. But that place was a little dead, FYI. Convenient for those staying in Laureles. Monday I walked around Botero Plaza some more, didn't see a lot of SW. Went to the art museum there, then went to New Life again. Saw Jimena again. Monday night I went to Conejitas strip club, which is also in Botero Plaza. I really liked Conejitas a lot. They have a lot of girls, and many of them are young, thin and beautiful. Monday night I saw Juliana for 70 k. The prices are for 30 min sessions. Tuesday I started by going to Secret Spa by my hotel. This is more of a massage parlor that offers full service. The only catch is they don't have beds. You have to do it on a massage table. I think these massage places are allowed to have signage. The other massage place I went to later in the week also had a sign out front. I forget the girl's name, but it was 150 k / HR. Started with a nice massage, then a good session. Tuesday night I went back to Energy and I saw Marcela again. She is really amazing. Probably the best girl of the week.

I leave latina kitty cat heaven tomorrow so I'm just going to write a summary as I've gone into detail on individual days already.
1. Hotel= ayenda 1235 botero; 2. 5 stars hotel imo, decent breakfast, rooftop view and girlfriendly. You're going to need to ask for a fan though and the wifi only works in the lobby of the first floor which is the biggest downfall imo but at such a cheap price its worth it.
2. Medication;.
A) paroxetine= is an antidepressant which delays ejaculation as a side effect but after a week my boners were only 70% of what they normally were and I would take like an hour to orgasm which isn't that fun imo.
B) viagra / sildenafil= sells for 5000 pesos per 2 50 MG tablets; I cut the tablet in 2 and used it, have no side effects yet and my penor was slightly harder, still not like it was before taking paroxetine but its still solid.
Locations:
A) poblado= I went a few times, once with vern to a disco club and the others to malls to explore and watch a movie. Poblado advantages is that it has a modern city feel, great malls, movies in english and a lot of american restaurant chains. Its more for upper class colombians, and the few tourist that go there. Poblado disavantages is that its more ecpensive and imo has little to offer for mongerers.
B) laureles= has a local feel, few tourist or americanized restaurant chains but its a middle class area and the night life is the best in medellin if you"re looking to party. I think if you're looking to meet non pros and stay long term ide stay here but it doesn't have much mongering options.
C) el centro= lower class section of medellin, has tonnes of homeless people and a few drug addicts but I only got begged once for money during my 2 weeks here,. Centro looks grimy but its way safer than the taxi drivers and others make it seem. Centro on a Friday or Saturday night is lively and I would say its safe to walk to and from strip clubs and bars even late at night as there are tonnes of people on the road and some police. Every other day ide advise for you to not walk pass 8 to 9 pm as the roads are empty.
Restaurants in centro: I have lunch everyday at the small food court beside the nuttibara hotel, its nice as I order chicken breast pork, beef, potatoes, rice and veggies or fried rice. Anybody who says that colombian food has no flavor is crazy, I overall liked the food even at the smaller cheaper restaurants.
Casas in centro:
Chica punta= just avoid, the beds arent fully clean, the water is cold, chicas are okay looking but they're clock watchers.
Yakuza= I didn't go but it has a bar and some nice looking girls hanging outside it, I think most guys just bring them to their hotel.
New life= the best casa and I really had no reason to try any other once I went here. The rooms are solid, has hot water and a great lineup of slim, thick, mature or young ladies, you can find whatever you want here. Ide advise you go early to get these girls as fresh as possible, before 12 pm as in the afternoon its packed with gringos and these girls are doing like 10 guys per day. You pay as you go so no clock watchers here.
Strip clubs.
A) fase dos= as I came in I had girls begging for tips without even dancing and chicas pulled out google translator really quick trying to sell sex. These chicas are used to gringos and they are aggressive, I left because I like to relax at strip clubs and it was off putting.
B) luna lunera= I've sessoned with 2 chicas, both worked hard but sadly the club is another gringo trap. On weekends they don't even sell beers and if you want to drink you have to order a bottle. They only sell beers in the room with the chica and they are 25 k pesos which is crazy imo.
Centro strip clubs.
C) barra ejecutiva= only has customers on fridays and ssturdays, female quality is okay but never sessioned here. Beer prices are 12 k pesos and chica 80 to 100 k.
D) bar maracaibo= only popular on Fri. To sat and has the least customers of all the strip clubs in medellin. The girls are friendly but give terrible sex, they don't want you to slap, kiss or touch anything.
E) avenida bar and grill= its a bar where girls are fully clothed, no dancing but you talk and pay for sex here. Not my scene so I didn't session.
F) conejitas bar & grill= the best strip club in medellin by far. The rooms are similar to newife, beers are 6 k pesos which is the cheapest, girls dance around the clock, its open from 2 pm to 4 am and is the only strip club in medellin that has customers outside of fridays and satutdays. The female quality is decent, they have both thick and thin girls. The prices for chicas seem to be increasing though as chicas are trying to make 100 k for media hora normal and I've been quoted as high as 200 k for one hour. Just know that the range is from 70 to 100 k for 30 mins, the slimmer girls seem to charge more but I will say only 1 girl gave me bad service here, this club gives the best service out of every strip club or casa I've been to so its my favorite. I actually feel like the girls here are enjoying the sex as they visible get wet, moan and are into the sex and I think its because they're having sex with less men as appose to new life.
Lastly.
Botero park sw scene= this isn't my scene at all, tonnes of middle aged women annd over weight women here, there clearly are gems if you're willing to wait but they can't be found at all times. One thing that bothered me the most was there clearly was a mother pimping out her 12 to 13 year old daughter and as I sat on a bench resting my feet for 30 mins that child had like 5 diff guys approach her and she seemed to be the most desired thing in botero square. It made me sick to see this and I was shocked to say the least.
Basically centro is the best place for mongering in medellin, laureles nor poblado doesn't have better looking chicas, only gringo pricing and better surroundings. However I've seen tonnes of white young europeans staying at my hotel, middle aged experienced americans and 1 black american; what they did was know some spanish, dress not too bummy nor in expensive clothing to make themselves a target and they all seemed fine.

I'm travelling to MDE tomorrow and just saw the Airbnb house rule "strict prostitution policy". I'm sure that I can handle it. This is Latin America after all. Has anyone had similar experience?. Or any advice how to deal with it.Best advice I can give you is find a cheap back up place in say Laureles where you can take these chicas to fuck, there are cheap as hell places there. But always, always, always message the apartment through the AirBnb message system and get a message back saying that the building allows overnight visitors. Medellin is a very modern city with a thriving tourist sector to their economy and a certain element of that economy has no love for the monger class.
The way to deal with it is to see the house rule before you book and pick somewhere else. Let us know how "I'm sure I can handle it" works out for you.
Why do people think they can get away with anything just because it's Latin America?I saw that also JjBee62, but I was still trying to figure out what he was thinking. My apartment building had a very professional security service where they not only checked IDs but scanned them right there at the desk as well as taking photos of everyone who entered the building. If the building does not want prostitutes in the building, they are not getting in the building. Latin America has nothing to do with it. Maybe de does not realize that the personnel are just as professional as any staff in any other country and just as worried about losing their job, probably more so in a country that has 10% unemployment.

Picking up on my trip report for last week. Wednesday I went to Guatape, which was a really nice tour. The bus left from El Poblado early in the morning, and came back right in rush hour traffic. It took forever to get through the last couple of miles in the traffic. When the bus finally made it back, I noticed a sign for Jade Palace Spa. I recognized this name from World Travel's list, so I thought it would be a good idea to go check it out after such a long trip back. Man, am I glad that I did. That place was great. Only 160 k for the hour. The massage was really top notch, and the masseuse Luna was super hot. On Thursday, I took it easy part of the day because I caught a little cold. It seemed to me that about half the people in Medellin were walking around coughing and sneezing, and I guess I caught it. Thursday night I went to Conejitas again and saw a really hot Venezuelan named Charlotte for 100 k. On Friday I tried to make up for Thursday being slow. I started the day at New Life and saw another girl named Marcela. Not to be confused with Marcela from Energy. In the afternoon, my room at the hotel still wasn't cleaned, so I went over to Aisha spa in Laureles. This place was all women in their 30's - 40's. But older women really know what they're doing. The sex was great. Saw Diana, 100 k HR. Friday night, back to Conejitas again and saw a gorgeous Colombiana named Vanessa. She was also 100 k. I might not have been able to get that third nut of the day, but Vanessa was like a super model. I can't believe I got to bang her for the equivalent of $30!

I got the feeling they were going through a bad patch during my visits there in August and September. The mamasan was not as friendly as in previous times.

They helped me find a seat that didn't have a water puddle in it from the rainstorm earlier. I don't drink, but vendors were walking around with beer. I am now a huge fan for life of Atletico National. I recommend this activity highly to anyone who likes futbol. I felt very safe. If you go, wear something green!

A guy once told me he rented an apartment above Conejitas for several months but had to move because there were so many cockroaches. I hadn't thought about that for years until I read this report. Everybody hates roaches. I can deal with them for hte time it takes to session but I can't abide living and eating in a place that is infested.

For those who are in Colombia or will be flying into or out of, or anywhere within the Colombia next Thursday, there will be a nationwide strike going on within the Country this day which includes the air traffic controllers, truckers, and many others all across the Country. From the Colombians I have spoken with, it may be a day of violence with predictions of over a million protesters in Bogota, and maybe as many as 100,000 in Medellin. Apparently the main protest locations in Medellin will be taking place in "EL Centro" in and around the government buildings. There also may be disruptions at other spots in the City, such as the Metro stations by the protesters. I don't know much more than this and have been told to be very careful around town on this day. Think in terms of what has happened in other South American countries lately, as this day of protest may have some similarities to what has occurred elsewhere. More information about this can be found on the Internet.For those currently in Colombia, the Government has announced border closures, curfews, and banning the sale of alcohol in Bogota, including the closure of many businesses, and the closure of all schools on Thursday. The bar tender and I were watching the riots in Chile and I mentioned it could happen in Medellin. He looked at me like I was crazy and perhaps he is correct. But I was in Santiago Chile last year and by all external measures it looked more peaceful, safe and content than Medellin ever has. Every time I have gotten an itch to buy a place in Medellin I have factored in that while Medellin is peaceful now, I have visited enough developing countries where that has changed on a dime. In any case while this is not the geo-political forum, please do keep us apprised of any impacts this unrest has in our beloved Medellin.
You can park your moto in the garage beneath the Nutibara. It's a very short and safe walk from there to Conejitas.

Pro tip for the demonstrations: if you want to do casa runs be sure to get to the east side of Avenida Oriental by 10 AM. If you try to cross any later after the demonstration starts you could find yourself caught up in the mess. It's the same thing every year for May Day. It's usually a lot of graffiti and rabble rousing but every so often somebody will start throwing bottles or rocks and the police will shoot off tear gas.

And as of 7 AM on Thursday morning, it's very quiet in Poblado, almost like a Sunday here with very little traffic on the streets.

Thanks man, Will definitely check it out!Definitely do it. It's one of the best things you can do to experience Colombian life as they do and have a great time. I sat in the student section which was ok one time but wouldn't suggest it and will sit somewhere else next time. They have a blast and it's an experience watching them dance and sing fight songs non stop. But the line to get in that section is long and slow due to super security and checkpoints.
Glad to see others getting down and enjoying Colombian life in this way! You are in for a great time!
P.S. even with 3 checkpoints which included frisking, they still manage to get Sister Mary into the stadium.

I visited Centro, last night, with wide eyes and big dreams. Unfortunately, as usual (for me), it fell flat. As mentioned in my previous post / question, I intended to take my moto, but it was raining. I ordered an Uber, and it took forever to get there. It's always a tough decision because I want to have a few beers, but I also want to be safe, while also not wanting to sit in an uber / taxi for 40+ minutes, nor having to wait for one when I want to leave. Anyhow.
I arrived around 7 p, and decided to look for a beer, before going into Conejitas. I ventured to Avenida Cundinamarca (west of Veracruz / Plaza Botero). There are a handful of little bars & casinos, and it's a fairly grimy area, for the faint of heart. I loved it. I popped into Fonda why Hacienda La Cascada, which was packed full of locals, watching the Nacional game. There are plenty of SW on Avenida Cundinamarca, and I didn't feel too out of place (I am clearly gringo, and younger than most in those places). I had one beer, took in the scene, and then intended to go to another bar on that strip. I ended up just going to Conejitas. The smell in this particular area of Centro is God-awful, in some places. I can see how this area can be of little or no interest to some, but I like to mix it up.
Conejitas had maybe 20 girls working / visible. No one was dancing, at the time. I sat for about 10 minutes, receiving "the look" from a couple of the girls. The others were either at tables, drinking with customers, playing on their phones, or just utterly non-present. None of the servers came over to my table. I left. I walked up the block to Grill Nueva Avenida, which was just as terrible as last time I stopped by. I took another lap of Botero / Veracruz, and saw a couple of good-looking darker girls. However, as a Centro rookie, I wasn't really in the mood to learn-on-the-go, as far as hotels, prices, etc. , despite having a general idea from the forum. Eventually, I made my way to Barra Ejecutiva, where they had the Nacional game on the huge projector screen. There were only a few customers, and they were all situated facing the screen. I ordered a beer, and then left when they said 15 k for a light beer. I then checked out Maracaibo, which was a sad vibe. Finally, I went to punto.com, but apparently just after closing time.
Thus, my Centro experience was exactly like the last time I tried a night out there. I don't know if I am just missing out on some little nooks and crannies, going at the wrong time, or what. I genuinely don't feel like it's my attitude, because I'm not trying to prove any other forum members wrong, or save money, etc. I think New Life is probably going to be my first stop, any future time I decide to go to Centro, so that the night is not completely a loss. I guess, in my opinion, comparing Centro MDE to Santa Fe BOG is just not even close to the same. Now, I have only been to Sante Fe once, and while it is even dirtier than the Veracruz area, with places equally as bad as Centro, I did have a fantastic time in what I think was Troya Nightlcub. So, maybe I am subconsciously comparing the two.
I would love to hear what others think about my approach, timing, etc.
On a side note, I got a 300 offer from an 18 yo looker on Tinder. She stuck to her guns when I said that price is fine, but the one hour time limit is not. I have yet to check out La Isla or Luna Lunera, but maybe spending more for the sure thing is more my style than Centro. I am going to check out Jade Salon Spa, today, which didn't have a great selection last time I stopped by. Tonight is ladies night at a couple places in Parque Lleras, and I wonder how the protests / recent pay-day will affect the crowds, tonight.

More police with guns, etc. And I saw some random searches of peoples backpacks. While riding the Metro in the morning from San Antonio to Laureles I noticed protesters marching along one street, I saw a few roads shut down by the police, and lots of police on motorcycles. I also saw protesters in the Cisneros area in front of a government building as well. Also noticed very few people out and about including very few cars, taxis, trucks out on the streets while traveling on the Metro. When I arrived in El Centro, all of the bars on the backside of the Church were closed, but there were a few girls out working in front of the stairs to the short time Hotels. Typically at 11:30 AM its slow in El Centro, but the walkway area between the Museum and Carrea / Calle 52 seemed to have the same amount of girls out that I have seen at that time of day. There are a handful of little bars & casinos, and it's a fairly grimy area, for the faint of heart. I loved it. I popped into Fonda why Hacienda La Cascada, which was packed full of locals, watching the Nacional game. There are plenty of SW on Avenida Cundinamarca, and I didn't feel too out of place (I am clearly gringo, and younger than most in those places). I had one beer, took in the scene, and then intended to go to another bar on that strip. I ended up just going to Conejitas. The smell in this particular area of Centro is God-awful, in some places. I can see how this area can be of little or no interest to some, but I like to mix it up..Nice report, and a couple observations / thoughts. I'm not a bar guy, and having been to the Santa Fe area only once in Bogota, one of the differences I noticed, is that there is no SW scene immediately adjacent to the Santa Fe area like in Medellin.
With that being said, there have been numerous posts about the SW's in El Centro, specifically in the Botero Plaza area. Next time your around, I suggest you visit this area, specifically the intersection of Carrea / Calle 52 at 4 PM in the afternoon versus after 7 PM. For many of the SW's, most of them are mothers just trying to make money to get by, and a lot of them get the hell out of there by 7 PM in the evening. Pricing can range from 20 K to 35 K for the SW's, and the hotels can cost anywhere from 5 K to 22 K. With the pricing ranges I have given you, your learning curve is over, and your not going to go broke.
Try the place out within the time frame I've suggested, and perhaps you will have a positive experience to post.
Many countries have made it a hassle or outright very difficult to buy a pre paid tourist sim. Is it easily available in Colombia, specially at Bogota and Medellin airports?

You don't have to move around too much, just find a spot to station yourself to observe. For the first time, let the girl take you to the short time room. A mistake won't cost too much.
To me, casa is more of a day time activity. I usually don't go to the bar before 9 pm.
If you don't like El Centrol after a few times, it just mean you have different taste.
I agree with you about Santa Fe but the setup is different.

Conejitas had maybe 20 girls working / visible. No one was dancing, at the time. I sat for about 10 minutes, receiving "the look" from a couple of the girls. The others were either at tables, drinking with customers, playing on their phones, or just utterly non-present. None of the servers came over to my table. I left. I walked up the block to Grill Nueva Avenida, which was just as terrible as last time I stopped by. I took another lap of Botero / Veracruz, and saw a couple of good-looking darker girls. However, as a Centro rookie, I wasn't really in the mood to learn-on-the-go, as far as hotels, prices, etc. , despite having a general idea from the forum. Eventually, I made my way to Barra Ejecutiva, where they had the Nacional game on the huge projector screen. There were only a few customers, and they were all situated facing the screen. I ordered a beer, and then left when they said 15 k for a light beer. I then checked out Maracaibo, which was a sad vibe. Finally, I went to punto.com, but apparently just after closing time.
Thus, my Centro experience was exactly like the last time I tried a night out there. I don't know if I am just missing out on some little nooks and crannies, going at the wrong time, or what. I genuinely don't feel like it's my attitude, because I'm not trying to prove any other forum members wrong, or save money, etc. I think New Life is probably going to be my first stop, any future time I decide to go to Centro, so that the night is not completely a loss. I guess, in my opinion, comparing Centro MDE to Santa Fe BOG is just not even close to the same. Now, I have only been to Sante Fe once, and while it is even dirtier than the Veracruz area, with places equally as bad as Centro, I did have a fantastic time in what I think was Troya Nightlcub. So, maybe I am subconsciously comparing the two.
I would love to hear what others think about my approach, timing, etc.
On a side note, I got a 300 offer from an 18 yo looker on Tinder. She stuck to her guns when I said that price is fine, but the one hour time limit is not. Yesterday, I stopped by Jade Palace Spa, and had a selection of 4 masajistas. I chose Luna. She looked surprisingly much better when she shed her masseuse garb for her bra & panties. She was fun, and attentive. The massage table routine is a little interesting, but all-in-all, a decent massage and good service (for 160 k). The last two times I've gone, they have ran out of 1 or 2 of the options. If you go as a group, I would recommend getting a table. I think if you buy a bottle, you can get one. I left around 2 a, maybe, and decided to check out Gustos. I know, I know. Well, 20 k entry, but the talent was amazing. "25 k" for a beer, despite the receipt saying 22 k + impuesto that comes out to 24 k. So, that's a little bit of a turn-off, if you're a drinker. Anyhow, the first stunner quoted $250 (note the currency). I declined, and she gave attitude. The place was packed, and I'm sure some of the groups of gentlemen in there, on their short vacations, were more than happy to foot the bill. I'm wondering if La Isla or Fase II could have competed with the talent, for a Thursday night. I would guess not. I finally hit it off with a tall brunette with light eyes, and a beautiful face. She was skinny, although, later found out (as I would have bet, with a gun to my head) that she is a mother. No baby damage, but not as tight as she probably once was, in terms of her T&A. She quoted $200. She spoke decent English, so combined with my decent Spanish, we were able to establish as much of a client-provider connection as you could hope. In the end, shower, CBJ, GFE, TLN, 500 k. In my head, that's 10 pops at New Life, but. I like to mix it up.
Thursday was a good day, and has seemed to spark the fire that appeared dormant for a few days. I am here for just over a month, compared to my normal 5-7 day trip. So, maybe it was a little complacency in knowing I have plenty of time, but I was starting to worry myself. A pit stop at the blue door broke the streak, and Thursday has me back in the saddle.
In fact, I might just take a shower and hit Centro!

One thing I forgot in my report: SmartFit at Tesoro mall is the holy grail. Friday, 10 am. Stunners everywhere. I will tour the various locations, but I'd imagine Tesoro will become my normal destination. I don't know if SmartFit allows it, but in the past, I always went to different Bodytech locations, using various IDs (passport, drivers license, copy of old passport) and got a free day trial. They used your ID# for the entry code, so you don't need to worry about them catching on, unless you go to the same gym, with the same ID, and the same employee is working.
Went to El Centro on Thursday and traveled there by the Metro at 11 AM in the morning. There was increased police presence at the Poblado, Estadio, and Parque Berrio stations and I suspect at all the other Metro Stations. More police with guns, etc. And I saw some random searches of peoples backpacks. While riding the Metro in the morning from San Antonio to Laureles I noticed protesters marching along one street, I saw a few roads shut down by the police, and lots of police on motorcycles. I also saw protesters in the Cisneros area in front of a government building as well. Also noticed very few people out and about including very few cars, taxis, trucks out on the streets while traveling on the Metro. When I arrived in El Centro, all of the bars on the backside of the Church were closed, but there were a few girls out working in front of the stairs to the short time Hotels. Typically at 11:30 AM its slow in El Centro, but the walkway area between the Museum and Carrea / Calle 52 seemed to have the same amount of girls out that I have seen at that time of day. Just walk up to the window with a 20 k (or 50 k bill if you're trying to get some change) and tell the guy "seis. " You'll get a card. For the first 5 rides, hold the card up to the card reader. For the last ride you have to put it in the slot.
There is no choosing destinations. Just have to get on the train going the right direction. From Poblado, you'll go towards Niquia to get to El Centro. To go back to Poblado get on for Las Estrellas.
Parque Berrio station is closest to the SWs and the El Centro strip clubs. Prado is slightly closer to some of the casas, but it's a bit rougher of an area.
If you're going to Laureles, get off at San Antonio station and go upstairs to catch the train. It only goes one way from El Centro. Get off at Estadio station for the La 70 area of nightclubs.
You can transfer from train to train, or train to metrocable without paying an additional fare. There's an additional fare if you take the 2nd metrocable up to Parque Arvi, and a fare if you take the Tranvia from the San Antonio station. There's also a separate charge if you take the L1 and L2 metro bus lines from the Industriales station.
I believe current fare is 2550 COP.

As an example, at the Poblado Metro Station between about 5 PM and 6:30 PM there typically is a line that could take up to twenty minutes to board the Metro.
Additionally, you can buy tickets which will be in the form of a white and green card, and you can purchase up to five trips per card. The best way to go though, is to buy a "Civica" card, it's green in color and you can load it up with as much as you want. In other words you can load it up with say 50 K which will be good for something like 17 or 18 one way trips. But another advantage is that when you use a Civica card, versus the white and green card, it will also include fares on the connecting bus lines at no additional cost.

I'm not saying it's impossible to get your pockets picked, but most people should be okay, if they pay attention.

Good idea! I always forget about the metro. I love the European / Asian public transportation systems, but I have never tried the MDE Metro. Is it fairly straight-forward at the stations, when it comes to purchasing a ticket / selecting a destination / etc.Others have already responded with some good details, but here is an article I found that really helped.

One thing I forgot in my report: SmartFit at Tesoro mall is the holy grail. Friday, 10 am. Stunners everywhere. I usually buy 6 tickets at a time. It all comes on a card. Just walk up to the window with a 20 k (or 50 k bill if you're trying to get some change) and tell the guy "seis. " You'll get a card. For the first 5 rides, hold the card up to the card reader. For the last ride you have to put it in the slot.
There is no choosing destinations. Just have to get on the train going the right direction. From Poblado, you'll go towards Niquia to get to El Centro. To go back to Poblado get on for Las Estrellas.
Parque Berrio station is closest to the SWs and the El Centro strip clubs. Prado is slightly closer to some of the casas, but it's a bit rougher of an area.
If you're going to Laureles, get off at San Antonio station and go upstairs to catch the train. It only goes one way from El Centro. Get off at Estadio station for the La 70 area of nightclubs.
You can transfer from train to train, or train to metrocable without paying an additional fare. There's an additional fare if you take the 2nd metrocable up to Parque Arvi, and a fare if you take the Tranvia from the San Antonio station. There's also a separate charge if you take the L1 and L2 metro bus lines from the Industriales station.If you use a Civica card, which doesn't cost any thing, but can be loaded up with as much as you want, it will include the L1 and L2 Metro bus lines at no extra charge. So as an example, if your traveling from say Poblado to Bellen, you would board in Poblado and swipe your card to board the Metro, then at the Industralies station you would get off, and walk to the L1/2 bus station and when you swipe your card at the turnstile your not charged another fare.

I speak fluent Spanish, grew up in the bronx, not worried about the streets, I can conduct myself.
*My question is, which casitas / clubs have the least amount of gringos? (preferably none).
I plan on being in centro in the am, escort pages at night, and clubs / casas in the afternoon. I would dread seeing a bunch of gringo tourists in the waiting room or strip club bars.
I understand Bar Montijo and Grill occidental are pretty local? And the further north you go past metro prado, the real freak show begins?

That's hilarious! I guess it's the word "booking" you used that made me laugh. So imagine a website like Trivago for FB Chicas. You could have all kinds of selection criteria along with ratings, but the FB Chicas would be in lieu of the Hotel's. The crazy thing is that although he's not being literal I have to say I did see a crackhead smoking weed and scouraging for food in the trash in Centro who was super slim and actually pretty cute & would be like a 7-8 in my country. Colombian women are just perfect as long as you like petite, brown skin, cute faces & round butts. I saw women selling trinkets in Centro on the side of the road who maybe make $200-300 USD per month who were 7-8's, Colombia is a beautiful country for a single man & I think the next time I go as my Spanish should be fluent I may go the non pro route as the normal girls were for sure prettier in the face than the pros & everybody seems fairly friendly.

As I understand it, GFE is pretty big in MDE..Most of what you mentioned is not the norm and can be negotiated beforehand, and GFE can be found.
I think after you arrive, you may re-think wanting to do some of this stuff with the SW's and Casa girls given the "venues".
Your best bets will be the Prepagos / Escorts for what your looking for.

Neither is automatic from lower price casas or street girls for me the first time. I either have to pay extra, or sometimes got very little if agreed. I actually did not like Loutron because it is priced like Bangkok but the setup and service is subpar compare to what one can get in BKK. The girls are above average but I feel they are older. If I want pretty girls for the same price, I just go to La Isla.

John.Strip Club-wise gringos are very rare in the Centro clubs and even kind of rare at Fase II, every time I have been there the only gringos came with me.
I'm not a bar guy, and having been to the Santa Fe area only once in Bogota, one of the differences I noticed, is that there is no SW scene immediately adjacent to the Santa Fe area like in Medellin.The street girls can go into bars. The girls you see standing around in the bars are freelancers and they can move from bar to bar, also the girls standing in front of ST hotels. It works the same way like with SW. You should have seen some SW on the street perpendicular to Cr 16. There is at least one street adjacent to Santa Fe that is full of them.
I've been mongering all over western europe, mainstays being lisbon and barcelona. The SW's are alright there, they get the job done for $30 euros.

I noticed in July that Metro usage was up a lot from 15 months before. Longer lines at the ticket window and really long lines at the Civica booth. My way to minimize the delay is to buy multiple trips whenever there's no line.

And with a Civica transfers to the bus lines are included. So your information is inaccurate. And as far as the long lines of people buying tickets, it's not because a single ticket is cheaper than a Civica. The reality is that the majority of the riders on the Metro have Civica cards so, 1) they do not have to wait in lines to buy individual tickets, and 2) enjoy the cost savings associated with the inclusion of the bus lines at no cost by using a Civica.

Based on your questions, I recommend you avoid New Life. All the others are about equal in terms of gringo population. Aiffe tends to get a little of the gringo overflow because it is so close to New Life. If you are BX then you will be alright. Centro will remind you of Hunts Point at 1 am Circa 1989.

I think you are right on both points. The civica card is a great deal if you transfer lines and use buses. Even if you don't, although the per ride cost is a bit more than single tickets, it is worthwhile because you avoid the crazy long ticket lines at rush hour.

At peak times you sometimes have to wait for a train or two to pass before you can get on and it is sardine can city but you pass by all the traffic jams. I stick to uber unless I'm in a hurry and I don't have time to wait for uber to show up. In those situations it's much quicker to grab a taxi.

Abydos was very popular with gringos going back 10 to 15 years. It had the same owner as Loutron, which also got its share of gringos in those days. These days of course there are more everywhere, even Veracruz.

The 2019 standard Medelln Metro fare with a Civica card is 2,255 pesos ($0.69), which is up from 2,125 pesos in 2018 and up from 2,000 pesos in 2017.
The standard fare in 2019 if you dont have a Civica card is 2,550 pesos ($0.79), which is up from 2,400 pesos in 2018.
So, you save 295 pesos (11.6 percent) per standard trip with a Civica card. As a result of using a Civica card I estimate I save over $60 USD per year with lower fares.
I just read thru it.It's amazing that there are members who are of the belief that a Civica costs more to use the Metro than buying single tickets. With out even reading what is contained in the article, it is a no brainier that the Civica saves you money. How do I know this, because the majority of the riders, including myself, use a Civica card.
I suppose for someone who hasn't ridden the Metro recently, they would not be aware of all the riders using them. If the Civica card actually cost more money to use than the Metro single tickets, nobody would use it, and it wouldn't exist.
It makes senses there would be a discount with the civica. Most metro systems do it that way. Honestly, I've never checked. It's not a big difference but it can add up over the years.

Well 1st off I was so exhausted from the flight down from Austin leaving at 522 AM before with only 3 hours of Xanax induced sleep I couldn't do too much my first day. ATX such a growing region hopefully they at least add a direct flight to BOG soon. Anyways even if I used my dated contact list those chics long either upgraded themselves or out the biz. And with travel fatigue coming from ATX (12 hours flight airport time etc.) I proly would of made huge mistakes. So my first night just hunkered close to home in my nice Poblado renta only a 3 minute walk to fine dining, grocery store and nice eye candy even though they "not in the biz".
Day 2 still tired but after had a good meal at Crepes-and-Waffels Lieras by 4 PM was ready to pound. Took the Metro to Estadio then made the walk to Energy. Was going to try New Life but it was later in the day and figured most good pickings now very tired in their legs. Great lineup at Energy about 12 chicas all I would DO. Selected red hair dyed Samantha cause if the girl petite and hot that red hair thing just s frieks me out. I don't normally pay extras but wanted good strong DFTK which she provided and I very happy with. One a down note just could not get my pene much into her she so so tight even after multi-pos. Depending on the Metro Station your at, there will either be one or two entrances to the platforms. At the stations with one entrance to the platform, like at the Pobaldo station, a lot of the riders are going to try to catch the first train so they don't have to walk far. Always during rush hour, the the first set of cars are going to very crowded. Hence, if you arrive at a station like Poblado and there is a mob to board, it's best just to walk down to the end of the platform to board. Another thing that happens is lot's of times the passengers wanting to board don't allow the passengers wanting to exit to get off. And sometimes the riders will all rush to board. Imagine like a football team with the guards and tackles all moving forward in unison. As always best to avoid during rush hour, and as an example, at the Poblado Metro station, there can sometimes be a wait of 15 minutes just to get access to the platform with long lines across the bridges to access the Station. And they have Metro personnel directing the riders as to which lines to board and buy tickets. It can be a total shit show between 5 and 6:30 PM, and it's even worse when it's raining. So, rule number 1 is avoid the Metro at rush hour if you can, and if you can't then try to position yourself as far away from the platforms when looking to board.
Oh, and one other thing regarding taxi's. When it's raining, they can be very difficult to get as nobody wants to walk in the rain. A perfect example is in El Centro alongside the Museum. Sometimes when leaving El Centro when it's raining it can take up to half an hour to get an empty taxi. Usually there are guys who will get a taxi for you for a few coins or say 200 Pesos. They run around and when they see an empty taxi they will grab it for you. I use them now exclusively, imagine like a concierge service, but a guy wearing rags, hailing a cab for you, and opening the door for you!

The rush hour squeeze is nothing compared to a rush hour interrupted by a 45 minute shutdown. The platforms were all packed down the stairs and back through the turnstiles (the be line running to Laureles) before the trains started arriving again. I was entering the Sur Americana station at the beginning of the stoppage and ended up on the platform for an hour. Then waited through 4 trains before crowding on.
Here's where Colombians are different. Instead of thousands of angry, impatient people, the mood was almost festive. There were people laughing and cracking jokes at each station where a few dozen more would jam their way onboard.
I have tried the metro during rush hour it does get you from point A to point B quicker than a taxi then but I honestly cannot take the squeeze. I prefer the comfort of a taxi. If you do take the metro at rush hour ensure that you keep a constant check on your wallet.I agree, the metro is a definite sardine can, packed, during rush hour.
The comfort of a nice taxi would be preferred, however, the traffic will also suck, so getting a Taxi / Uber with AC may be essential.
It is for me anyways. Otherwise, you’re looking at a long, hot, noisy cab ride.
Normally I just take the plunge, in the Metro and go for the squeezed ride, LOL.

On this trip I decided to book an AirBnB at the suggestion of another monger. Last time I stayed at a hotel and getting a separate room every time I found a Facebook chica was not going to happen. I tried to hit all of the avenues on this trip but did not get to venture the Centro scene. Next time for sure!
Most of my days consisted of a massage in the morning and a Facebook or Tinder chica to my apartment at night. Effective December 1, 2019.New Life prices should be even higher tbh, I know it's in Centro but half or more of their client base are foreigners and I would actually prefer slighter higher prices for girls sessioning with less guys. Seeing these girls cards and noticing like 10 guys for the day was a bit much for me, it turned me off a bit.

There's a heating element inside the nozzle hooked to either 110 or 220 v. Always looks a bit scary to me, especially since Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters aren't common in Colombia.

Wallet? Why carry a wallet on the Metro?..........I always have 2 wallets. Large one in my hotel room safe with US and other currency, credit and debit cards, passport and other documents; and another with small amount of cash, low limit debit card, credit card sized laminated passport photo page and hotel room key which I move around with.
