El Centro Street Action.

Thanks.On the local news today the Colombian President outlined measures they are starting to take to limit crowd sizes, sporting events, etc. By the time you show up in roughly ten days people could be in a panic with places shutting down, etc. But nobody really knows.

And getting a flight out, who knows, the Colombian Government might pull the plug on foreigners coming into the Country, which is exactly what Trump did with Europe as you mentioned.

Thanks.You didn't specify where you live, so I am guessing the US. Trump's travel ban does not apply to US citizens and permanent residents. Since Colombia and other countries in South America have only a few cases of the virus, I don't think there will be a travel ban from there. My neighbors went to Medellin last Monday and will be returning to the US next Monday. They said they haven't had any travel issues.

Wake up early and I see that the US is restricting Europe flights for 30 days. Not good. I have an apartment in Medellin, I could stock it up with supplies and not leave the premises for six months and am established here. So for a guy with no ties in Medellin who is thinking of staying in Medellin which is the topic being discussed, I wouldn't recommend that he even think of coming down here.

I posted earlier on my situation a few weeks ago and got some great feedback with most saying I should stay, but given the context of what has evolved with the Coronvirus, and what could occur here, mongering could almost come to a halt, with the closing of clubs, casa's, bars, and frightened Fay Boo Chicas refusing to see foreigners.

However I see an exception to this in El Centro, since the border with Venezuela has been shut down, I envision there will still be lots of desperate Venezuelans working and perhaps Colombians as well. It if you think it's a buyers market now, it's going to be better with desperate Chicas looking for clients, and given that the USD to COP exchange rate is at over 4,000 Pesos. However this in no way is a reason to stay, at least for me.

I suspect Colombia will shut down visitors from the USA shortly, Guatemala has, and once visitors from the USA are not allowed in, there may not be many flights out of the Country, let alone to any other Country.

On another note (and I'm not posting this in the hotel thread, since few seem to read it). Be careful when renting an apartment. Obviously you want it to be girl friendly. However, when looking at some alternatives for my 3 week trip this summer, I looked at Blux (where I have stayed before) and Factory Lofts. The Blux units managed by Caracol indicate that you cannot have more people in the apartment than the max that is stated. For most of the one bedroom and studios, that's 2 people (you and one girl). For those of you who like trios. Or at least like to have more than one girl over to use the pool, etc. That will not be possible. For Factory Lofts, they allow 3 visitors PER STAY and no more than 1 at a time. I am staying 3 weeks, so 3 visitors is not going to cut it. Decided just to stay at my regular AirBnb for the entire time. As I can do what I want, as long as I don't make a lot of noise after 10.

You don't deserve to be belittled about your decision. Everyone's situation is different. The situation is evolving quickly. I think there is more chatter about this because people based in the US (I would have said Europe also if flights weren't already barred) have unusual opportunities to be away from their workplaces and are weighing the risk vs the reward of watching CNN or BBC from their couches at home or possibly being stranded in Medellin. For most, that's what it boils down to. Family commitments, career, or God forbid health concerns can be considerations. Retirees who may need access to specific doctors don't probably want to risk being isolated. Everybody take care and stay well.

They lower the rate another 20%, I'm like done. Immediately start hitting up the ones I've missed and decide I'm going to bring out my alternate alias Fukboy and go out pound town style. So start setting them up in 1 and 2 HR intervals. I blew off Tania yesterday for marcela so schedule her for 3, I am iffy on laurita as a bm told me she flaked on him twice, and she is also adamant about 1 HR, but I figured I'll play that game and just bang her brains out for an hour LOL, schedule her for 5, estefania for 6, then reach out to enlly who has been near impossible to get ahold of, as well as dane to knock out the top 10 I wanted to see. You answered your own question LOL Its simple math really. Italy had single digit cases 20 days ago. Now they are at 18,000 and the hospitals are over capacity. They've implemented "wartime protocols" and aren't accepting patients over 60, period. I already answered this a week ago but I came back to PR because my house here is way nicer than my Airbnb in Colombia. I have health insurance here, I have animals to take care of. My pet sitter was not willing to continue coming for another 30-60 days nor will she be able to when lockdown happens in PR. They are already closing certain areas of the island. I have plenty of supplies, both medicine and food here. I have entertainment, video game systems, a full library of books. Isolating myself here is easy, it would be very uncomfortable to be do so in Colombia in comparison.

Honestly, your perspective is illogical. You think you have a greater chance of catching the virus in a place where everything is closed and there is less social interaction (your home) than in Colombia where no one is wearing a mask, there is a very large international population and you are engaging regularly with chicas who are engaging frequently with other foreigners? That makes no sense.
Why do you assume it will hit every country just as hard? Colombia is no further from China than Europe, so why has it hit Europe much harder than here? Because of the massive movement of people to and between those countries, because there are no borders at all between the Schengen countries in Europe, and because more people get sick in winter weather. The amount of international arrivals here is a trickle in comparison to Europe. And no two countries are the same, France and Germany have both almost 5000 cases each but 91 deaths in France and only 9 in Germany, 10 times as many ! So why is that if it's just about geometrics ?

And what does it matter how good your healthcare insurance is? If you've read about corona virus you would know that the only medication against it is your own immune system and rest. And I'm sure that my immune system is much better and stronger relaxing in a warm climate eating well than in a colder one, with the stresses of daily life plus the added stress of 24/7 western media panic about the virus. In fact, I was just chatting to a buddy of mine who is a leading medical professor at a North American university and he pointed out that it's not affecting the tropics so much. Look at the map, there aren't many cases in South America or Africa, are there? And very few deaths from it in the tropics at all! Including places close to China (Thailand and Singapore for example). And people are watching the news and following advice here just as in other countries, they aren't being reckless or burying their heads in the sand.

And maybe I'm just not as worried about catching it as you are. You seem to be paranoid about getting it! You could die crossing the road in Medellin, there are risks in life! ! And if you're not elderly or have medical preconditions, your chances of it being fatal are very slim! Thanks, Colombian reports says that foreign residents traveling from Europe and Asia will be obliged to isolate themselves for 14 days after arrival and will be monitored, whereas La Republica says these visitors will be 'restricted', so nowhere does it say they will be 'barred'. Really safe and active area to stay. Centro is a 10 minute drive, $2 taxi ride. Take it from me though, the street Walker action and sorting through the grime is not worth the many laps necessary to find something, but it is entertaining to visit and good local food. New life and other casa, strip clubs. Casas in the area might be a better chase. Only been to new life and highly recommended it. Keep in mind people love to say they have been with 7's and 10's. If you find one on the streets of centro please call me LOL. I'm planing to go to Medellin in the next a few weeks. I don't have much concern about the coronavirus, the risk is too low for people in my age group, this is a chance I'm willing to take. Why do you assume it will hit every country just as hard? Colombia is no further from China than Europe, so why has it hit Europe much harder than here? Because of the massive movement of people to and between those countries, because there are no borders at all between the Schengen countries in Europe, and because more people get sick in winter weather. And no two countries are the same, France and Germany have both almost 5000 cases each but 91 deaths in France and only 9 in Germany, 10 times as many ! I just flew from Medellin to Bogota and arrived at 9 AM and went thru immigration / security and there were no lines, as I have a 12 PM flight to LOS Angeles in business class I went into the Avianca Lounge which has two sides, one regular and one diamond class. When I got to the entrance it appeared closed, but wasn't, and there was one attendant who said I could use either side while waiting for my flight. I walked into the Diamond side and there weren't more than about five people. At this point I decided to take my N95 respirator mask off and looked around and at the regular side as well. I had never seen this place so empty all the times I had flown thru Bogota and went and talked with the attendant, she said normally on a Sunday at 9 AM there would be at least 100 people in the lounges.

On Saturday I spent three blissful hours in El Centro with one of my darlings, my mouth was watering on the flight from Medellin to Bogota as to how sexy and beautiful two of the flight attendants were, and now I am going to be arriving into a firestorm and God knows when I can return to Colombia.

Lots of bantering back and forth about the CoronaVirus, and it's serious beyond belief based on the facts and number. I previously posted that if your not established in Colombia you should get out ASAP. I am established in Colombia and could of easily stayed but am getting out. Here's some helpful advice, not just for you, for everyone:

The trouble is, you're looking for US style living on a Colombian budget. The Colombians paying $200-$300 monthly for rent don't have hot water. They have a stovetop but no oven. Their furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. No washing machine. Instead there's a sink, with a built-in scrub board.

I don't feel you need to live in centro to get to centro. Laureles has quite a few casas, spas and many prepagos. Really safe and active area to stay. Centro is a 10 minute drive, $2 taxi ride. Take it from me though, the street Walker action and sorting through the grime is not worth the many laps necessary to find something, but it is entertaining to visit and good local food. New life and other casa, strip clubs. Casas in the area might be a better chase. Only been to new life and highly recommended it.

I talked to a guy who was on an American flight from Miami today. They announced the schedule change after boarding all passengers. He is coming later. I helped him book am Avianca return for next week. Of course it could get cancelled. Guys, there is no treatment for Coronavirus. That means the Colombian treatment is no better or worse than any other, which is nothing more than waiting and hoping. If you have other health problems my advice is stay close to your doctors.

I can rent long-term for very cheap. I can use Uber to get around, or walk. I am scheduled to fly back to the US on Wednesday.

I have a stop in PTY, on the way to LAX.

I live in a high-rise in another metropolitan area.

Can anyone provide a strong argument as to why I wouldn't just extend my stay in Medellin? I'm not worried about contracting / surviving, as much as I am just returning to chaos, and having to live a miserable existence until things calm down. I agree that we will likely see a spike in Colombia, as testing becomes more available. However, I can walk down the street to Exito, and buy enough supplies / food for a month, for $200. I can rent long-term for very cheap. I can use Uber to get around, or walk. If things start getting whacky, or the general public starts to live in fear, I would probably select a couple girls to be exclusive with in the interim.

I read American Airlines cancelled flights to Colombia / South America. I would imagine that the dominoes will fall, starting tomorrow. So, I should probably make a decision, today.

I'll write a report tonight / tomorrow, but had an amazing / free TLN FS with a Vennie from Conejitas.Me personally? If I had the ability to stay in Medellin, I'd stay. Obviously, others are going to disagree.

Colombia is trying to stay ahead of the curve. This ban, combined with many airlines reducing or stopping flights, gives them a chance to minimize the severity. I don't know if they will succeed, but they seem to be making the right moves. If they succeed, the medical system won't be overwhelmed.

The US, however, is way behind the curve. It will be another week before widespread testing begins. By that time, there could easily be over 1 million infected. That could mean up to 200,000 hospitalized by the beginning of April. The number doubles every 6 days.

In addition, with no foreigners entering and many leaving, combined with the exchange rate leaves you in an enviable position. It's definitely going to be a buyer's market.

In Medellin it's also possible to get anything you need delivered. Anything. Need condoms, mayonnaise, rum, Viagra and a giant double dildo? Grab your phone and in 30-45 minutes it will be at your door.

I have been waiting to book and just got a notice of a big price drop. My opinion is, they'll still let you book and take your money, even though the flight will be cancelled.

To your question about leaving in 10 days, it is because I feel more comfortable being in my own home, where I have over 100 days worth of supplies and wouldn't need to leave the house. I live in Puerto Rico, in a penthouse, with a private terrace. The temperature never changes and is always 82-85, a little less at night. I have everything I need there, entertainment, books, and private outdoor space that is no where near anyone else. If it comes down to it, I can easily stay there 90 days and not lose my mind, whereas being here in a 1 bedroom Airbnb with just a few sets of clothes would be tough.To Grownman, on March 7th, I was already alerting people to what was going on. I made the decision that 10 days would be the longest I should stay from that date. I ended up leaving 2 days ago on Friday as I had the feeling Monday (tomorrow) would end up being an important day internationally. The visual map is somewhat misleading also simply because the size of the "red" circles on the map do not correlate to anything geographically. Meaning size wise, if a circle on the map looks like it covers 1000 sqr miles / kms. It doesn't mean that 1000 sqr area is blanketed with Covid-19 coronavirus cases. Since what you said makes all kinds of sense about not needing to have people read this thread and just get info about coronavirus. Had a session scheduled with Lisdey Santilla or something for 11 am. She grabs my laptop and says she's going to steal my laptop if I don't pay her. I get angry and take my laptop from her and then kick her out of my hotel room. She goes downstairs and complains to the front desk guy. I explain to him what happened and he says it's not worth it because the police with charge me a prostitution fee and get me in trouble. I tell him that prostitution is legal in Columbia and show him on google. He tells me that it is legal for Columbians but foreigners signed something when they came into the country saying we won't hire any prostitutes. And that it's promoting prostitution and a "pimping" fee or something. I tell him I'the rather pay the cops for the fee than pay this girl cause I'm still mad fb failed me again and she tried to steal my laptop. He then tells me that the cops would put something on my passport / immigration saying I participated in prostitution and make it harder for me to travel in the future which had me worried. (Is this true? Or was he just making this up because it would be a huge hassle and probably a fine for the hotel if the cops got involved? So I tell the desk clerk, she only stayed for 30 minutes when we agreed to 2-3 hours. I offered her 150 k and if she doesn't want to take it, we can let the police handle it. He says okay she'll take the 150 k so I give it to him and wash my hands if this. Actually fucking was probably a 7/10. The rest made it a 2/10 session. I don't know why I always seem to have this problem with the fb girls but at this point I'm realizing it's probably just not going to happen for me on FB. Maybe it's cause I don't know Spanish or maybe it's because I'm not as assertive that they think they can take advantage of me.

Add in college athletics, colleges themselves, public schools. Today Illinois and Ohio announced they are shutting down all bars and restaurants for dine-in service. More states will soon follow suit. In the past week the Fed has committed $2 2 trillion to prop up the markets. Airlines are basically shutting down.

Does all this sound like situation normal?

Even as arrogant as I am (according to some), I don't claim to have any answers. The only thing I know to do is not panic. Both the WHO and the CDC have plenty of available information, ranging from general recommendations to recent research papers.

Not long ago 9 people I know all attended an event which included plenty of frequent international travelers. According to what I heard tonight, 6 of the other attendees have since been tested positive. Five of the people I know have since been ill. I haven't heard any information on the other 4. I'm not saying Columbia will shut down but if they decide to do what most of the major mongering destinations in Europe has already decided to do. You might be stuck in a foreign country that's closed all their bars, restaurants and brothels. Sure you'll still be able to find some chicas who are desperate but I have to imagine the quality of the girls (and service) will go down.

I've never gotten everything in writing. In fact, I rarely get anything other than a price in writing. And I don't have these problems. Girls aren't trying to change things, girls are almost never trying to leave before I'm ready for them to go. Some don't want to leave then. I may have gotten on one of the last few flights out of the Country back to the USA. So here I am on a seven hour flight from Bogota to LAX wearing an N95 mask which I didn't take off during the entire flight, meaning no food or liquids, pondering what the hell I was coming back to in the USA.

So on Monday morning I decide to start getting supplies for my home. I live within walking distance of five major stores in Southern California which include a Pavillions, a CVS Pharmacy, a Whole Foods, a Gelsons, and a Trader Joes. None of these stores had either paper towels, toilet paper, pasta's, rice, or dried vegetables, and hardly any fresh fruits or vegetables. And no fresh meats except the Gelsons which is a very high priced market but with a very limited supply. Most all frozen food products were out of stock and there were long lines at all the stores. And while walking around, people stayed clear of one another and just kind of smiled while holding their breath when passing one another.

In walking to each of the stores, I also noticed a lot of the eating places were closed along with all the schools and bars as well.

Then in the afternoon I heard that most other Central and South American Countries are shuttering their borders along with the Airlines such as LATAM shutting down 90% of their flights.

All of this within a matter of a few days. I cannot believe what is happening. It's surreal, like night and day.

What is scary about the Metro is that if there is one infected person who coughs and sneeze's that person could potentially infect others being in a confined space and those who become infected infecting others who infect others like a "snowball".

One of the reasons I left Colombia is out of fear of what could occur if there are large breakouts of the virus in Medellin. With everything being shutdown there could be civil unrest, and coming down with the virus, needing medical attention is another issue.

I live within walking distance of five major stores in Southern California which include a Pavillions, a CVS Pharmacy, a Whole Foods, a Gelsons, and a Trader Joes. It's surreal, like night and day.For the past 3 weeks I've been trying to get people here in the US to take this seriously. There are still people who think it's all "fake news", or who are still trying to compare it to the flu. Makes me want to scream.

We're in virgin territory. My wild guess is that the Dow will hit 15,000 within the next 2 weeks. I won't even pretend to have any idea where it goes from there. I'm also guessing that non-essential industries will be required to shutdown. Worldwide, economies are going to take a beating.

Don't panic. Even though this is a genuine panic situation, don't. Stay at home if possible, conserve your resources and look for alternative solutions.

Try checking Asian and Hispanic food stores. The big mega markets are getting hit harder. Try shopping in the early morning. We don't have any shortages yet, but the supply chain is overwhelmed. Grocery delivery truck drivers are reporting that the stores have products, but they don't have enough people to get it out and on the shelves. Only buy what you need, except I'd grab a few canned goods each time. Worst case, you can donate them to a food bank when the sky stops falling.

From the time China realized they had a problem, until the number of new cases dropped off was about 30 days. I believe, by the beginning of June, we'll be picking up the pieces and trying to rebuild normal.

The thing that worries me is how long some of the workers will keep showing up to work to stock the grocery shelves. If the government is shutting everything down like all bars. Eating places, gyms, business's and City hall's to maintain distancing, I would be reluctant to go to work being exposed to people. A perfect example is that there are courts where Jurors have refused to show up out of fear, hence shutting the capacity to conduct trials.

It's mind boggling to say the least and people are starting to have frayed nerves over the whole situation. Today I showed up at a Trader Joe's at 8;30 AM and got in line waiting for the store to open at 9 AM. Imagine me going back to the exchange place or BOA and asking for today's rate and on all of the pesos I bought in Dec, Jan, and Feb? But that's another story.

If you have established a relationship with any of the girls you should have no problem getting these girls to do anything you want them to do. And I literally mean anything. The clerk at the store probably thought you were sick because they have been telling people not to wear masks unless you are sick. I work in healthcare so I already had N95 rated masks. The problem with them is they do not seal unless they are fitted for you so I seal the bastard with white medical tape.

I have 24 hour porteros in my apartment block and two of them are going to live here during the shut down to make sure they are on duty. The vibe towards extranjeros is changing, 40 were deported today for breaking the isolation period.

Yes the prices could be cheaper right now but from tomorrow at 7 pm until Tuesday you can't even be in the streets let alone have a chica over. I won't miss New Life but I was really bummed out that Botaniko shut down earlier this week. The New Life closure makes sense to me because of the high percentage of foreigners who frequent it. The same is true of food and beverage places in Poblado and Provenza. We saw many of them shut down a week or more ago. The talked about protecting the health of the republic but I think it is more about a big part of their clientele no longer patronizing them.

This is actually Day 14, for me, and my f'ing portero is downstairs with a mask and gloves on, yapping at me about being in quarantine. I was just going out to buy some food to last through the weekend.

Anyhow, has anyone in Medellíand made a decision regarding to quarantine with a chica or not to quarantine with a chica? Tonight through Tuesday is a long time to be alone, and who knows if they decide on Monday to extend it. The flip side is: do I want to be with a single chick for 4 days?

So, I'm not sure if I will get $150 towards a $600 flight in late-April / May, or what. I don't feel like sitting on hold, any time soon. I had the pleasure of doing that a few days ago.

I have some local friends, and all of them are scared straight about the quarantine. I half-heartedly offered to host a BBQ for 1-3 people, maybe to see the reaction, and everyone either thought I was kidding or tried to implement their own coronavirus thoughts on me. Cheers.Quarantine means 2 weeks with no one. Or two weeks that everyone who is together stays away from everyone else. If you get someone in the last two days of your quarantine then both of you would have to stay another 14 days.

Taxi / uber will operate, the metro as well. Remember people are allowed out for essential errands or if they work in certain jobs. I did get an e-mail from uber that says they won't operate at the airport after 8 PM until 5 AM, no date limits included. There are only a few domestic flights so there can't be much demand. I wonder if the airport buses are running.

I think you would regret shacking up with a girl for three days. I think you would also have a hard time getting one to agree to it unless she is homeless, which brings me back to my first statement about regret. Here in USA Every state I have read of except some parts of FL have shut down all bars, dine in restaurants, movie theaters, and public gathering places expect vital gas stations, grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals etc.

CA is in complete lock down don't leave your home status and NYC talking about it.

Yes for someone fresh into Medellin and needing to return in 1-4 weeks or more would be hellish if not impossible to get out. However if fresh in and planning to stay there a long time do the "14 day quarantine" in your apartment and if you know not sick start calling the chicas over to your apartment. They banning visitors to private residences down there? Saying this not if you are in hotel but any of the private rental apartments.

Or if live down there permanently man you are in heaven just give them a COVID-19 swab test!

Also they sayin younger people not as risk however I have heard on my local news (DFW area) and the major media channels that youngers can still develop serious side effects especially if they have auto immune issues and / or other chronic health conditions.

I never was one too get too close to people especially in bars where there is less inhibition however the nice casas I feel wouldn't be so much risk since is a controlled environment.
