Here's a way to avoid similar problems: always select Spanish / espanol as language. Sometimes the UI programmers don't translate well or they fat finger numerical table values. Substantially fewer users operate the ATMs using the English language option so errors (and they are usually configuration errors not fraud) take longer to be reported and repaired. Of course when that sort of thing happens in the Spanish language menus it gets put right much sooner. It's not very different from badly translated restaurant menus. I've seen some doozies on which pork, poultry, and beef are used interchangeably.
The amounts don't look realistic because they are not rounded. For that reason alone I would not have selected them. Sorry this happened to you.

The ATM offered withdrawal selections of 1,540,000 and 2,000,000 COP. In the past the max was always 400,000 in Medellin, Cucuta, Bogota, Cartagena, and my first month in Barranquilla. This is a huge jump. I chose 400,000 but had a bad feeling so jerked out my card. Received a TRANSACTION ERROR and a print out ticket saying error no money paid. But money was deducted from my Schwab account. Schwab denied the claim even though tI sent picture of receipt with none payment. I called and explained this is a slam dunk. Look at your own description. All my withdrawals have format of:
Calle 53 No 46-192, Bar be / QUILL.
Carrera 51 # 50-26 MEDELLI.
Calle 28 No. 13 A - 17 Bogota.
Except this one that ripped me off:
Davivienda Davi be / QUILL 0800100 be / QUIL.
I thought it was a skimmer or something because it was during the weekend. Weeks later I tried again. Same high amount. Went to 3 banks and all the same high amounts offered. Fine I selected my regular 400,000. During processing (counting) (but no noise) I receive the Error screen and no money. Same description on my Schwab account. Schwab finally paid both.
Arrive at Medellin bus station I try again and the same high amounts offered so I walked away. Never use Davivienda again! Now use BBVA with no fees. Highest withdrawal is 600,000.Denied? Did you have them file a chargeback? US banks are required to give you provisional credit until they get proof the funds dispensed from the merchant bank, via a journal entry from the ATM in question. I'd them call them again.

This is absolutely true and I'm not sure why some here refuse to acknowledge it. Girls charge significantly different prices depending on where they are. I'd witnessed all sorts of permutations on this. For those that remember Geraldine from way back, she was charging 150 k at the Mansion and was available for 25 k at Mayorista. I've seen Fase 2 girls hanging around downtown available at a fraction of what they'd cost at the club. I've seen "Mansion girls" working at casas fucking guys for a fraction of what they'd get from a guest at the house.
My last trip in February, I met a very hot looking girl at a casa during the day. After the session, I got her number and later asked her to visit me in Poblado. Those were the days. Back in the day, the Mansion did not have chicas at night. No bar. So it was an afternoon affair and chicas were gone by 6 pm So if you did not have an appointment, you had to find your own fun. And one of those places as Mayorista. Most of the girls would "hide" back against the wall, so it was not always easy to see them. You would have to call them over to get a good look at them and also gauge if they were legal. There were plenty of UA chicas there back then. You could find some real gems. I remember a bubble butt little spinner I saw a few times. Great performance for peanuts (although the exchange rate was not as good back then. Around 2200). I even got to know the guy who ran one of the ST love motels.
It was crazy back then. I went with two gringos once and they were a little crazy. I was drinking a bear and the next thing you know the two guys were standing by the street snorting what they hoped was cocaine off a cardboard box that some street walker was holding. Cops did not care.

Presidential decree number 990 is real however you described its provisions very inaccurately. The decree extends the government's emergency powers to August. More importantly, it also established control measures based on the level of infections in each municipality. The measures are not new. Among them are pico why cedula, genero etc, lockdown of people 70 and older and all the others that have been around since March. In cities where the infection rate is judged to be sufficiently low, there will be fewer restrictions and more new permissions such as church services, restaurants, and the end of curfews. In cities or departments where the rate is judged to be too high (I. E. Parts of Bogota, Cordoba, Atlantico, Amazonas etc.) the restrictions will be maintained or hardened. Up to and including 24/7 lockdown.
Earlier this morning Mayor Daniel Quintero knocked down a rumor that discotecas would be allowed to open. He sent out a tweet that said it's not going to happen and neither will there be a pilot program. I haven't checked this evening but I did not see anything new from the Mayor's office as of late this afternoon. I know it's tedious but we are all better off reading the decrees or at least reputable news sources because many Colombians don't sweat the details but enjoy spreading rumors. It is why pyramid schemes and other scams are so rampant here. Just to be clear, when I say "reputable news source" I am not referring to facebook.

Just saying Hello, been reading the board the last few days and trying to get the lay of the land for Medellin. I am hoping to get down there which I guess is probably in 2021 at this point. I am very well versed in the US Strip Club scene from NC to FL and having fun and extras. I have never been out of the US really but have wanted to go to Colombia among other places in Latin America. I work with a guy who went there last year and he has been everywhere and said it was one of his favorite places, though he is not a hobbyist as far as I know.

Then she asked me to send her some money upfront to buy some things. I sent her 100 USD, thinking I would just deduct that from the money I was going to give her in Medellin. Anyway, I arrive in Medellin and get checked into the Airbnb and the chica shows up in the evening. We go out to dinner, buy booze and drink in the apartment, she basically wifed up. After about 3 days she was going out to class and asked me for some money, and I gave her 300 mil cop. Then after 5 days when she was leaving, I gave her another 200 mil cop. I probably paid about another 50 mil for taxies etc. Total for 5 days 870 mil cop at the prevailing exchange rate. So the rate went down by 50% almost, without even talking about it. I know it is still a bit high based my current knowledge, but I think I did pretty well for my level of experience back then.
I was also talking to another SA girl before I left for Medellin. She is an Instagram model, was a civil engineering student, and worked in tech support call center. My pre arrival rate she quoted was 300 USD per day, but she wouldn't spend the night. That was too much for me so I didn't commit to her. Just been messaging her on and off. After the first chica left after 5 days, I saw a message from this Instagram chica and messaged her in the morning about 10 am to see if she wanted to meet up. She said she could come at 11,30 am and can stay till 4 pm. I asked her how much, and she now quoted 300 mil cop. I said 200 mil cop and she agreed. This chicks was hotter than the other one, had better firm shapely see cup boobs, great ass, nice make up etc. But it was a struggle to do her. I had that happen a few weeks ago. Not sure why. I speculate that I somehow triggered something that got me featured on the "friend suggestion" list for a lot of chicas. It seems to happen on occasion.
Interesting thing about "friend suggestions" - I look at them regularly. Sometimes I will see a girl on the list and she never re-appears. Other times a particularly will show up for days. I was in Barranquilla and went to the ATM around the corner from the 4-Points Marriott. It was a bank of three from Bancolombia. First time it didn't give me cash and errored out. I didn't see anything like the 1,400,000. I usually use an amount like 290,000 because the 90 k comes out in small bills instead of three 100 k notes. Sometimes the machine is out of the small notes and I don't get the cash. So I tried again with 300 k. That didn't work. So I tried the one next to it for 300 k and that didn't work.
I get notifiications on my watch and phone on for all my Schwab ATM transactions. And alas, I got three for those. I went down the street to another one.
I had a similar thing with Bancolomia a few years ago, and the non-honored transactions all reversed themselves. So I waited a week or so, and when that didn't happen, I called Schwab and got the cash back for all three. It was quite confusing for them because they thought it was only one transaction because all three looked so much the same. Reminds me I need to check if all three came back. If it was a skimmer, they sure work fast. Also, never use BanColombia!
Two months later, after hearing reports of skimmers, I decided to only use ATMs inside minimarts. Used one, and somehow forgot to take my card. 30 minutes later I get a notifcation on my watch about a $300 VISA transaction with my Schwab card. FUCK! Look in my wallet, no Schwab card. Call immediately, and while I'm on the phone, another $200 transaction. Got all that money back. Love the banks! .

If a Veracruz girl gets pulled to Gusto with a friend, she'll be asking $200 all night. If a Gusto girl gets pulled to Veracruz by a friend she'll be taking 50 k all day.

In the end, you find what you want, where you want, when you want, for the price you want and don't worry if someone else is paying more or less for the same thing.

We've seen many Venezuelan families "sleeping rough" the past few years. More recently than ever because of the quarantine. San Diego has become a bit of a Little Caracas because of the ultra low cost housing on Arteria and next to no enforcement of construction and occupancy codes.

Wifey was gone all day, with her mom, as they were taking her little brother for standard tests & a check-up. She was coming off her period, and told me she was very horny. Presidential decree number 990 is real however you described its provisions very inaccurately. The decree extends the government's emergency powers to August. More importantly, it also established control measures based on the level of infections in each municipality. The measures are not new. Among them are pico why cedula, genero etc, lockdown of people 70 and older and all the others that have been around since March. In cities where the infection rate is judged to be sufficiently low, there will be fewer restrictions and more new permissions such as church services, restaurants, and the end of curfews. In cities or departments where the rate is judged to be too high (I. E. Parts of Bogota, Cordoba, Atlantico, Amazonas etc.) the restrictions will be maintained or hardened. Up to and including 24/7 lockdown.
Earlier this morning Mayor Daniel Quintero knocked down a rumor that discotecas would be allowed to open. He sent out a tweet that said it's not going to happen and neither will there be a pilot program. I haven't checked this evening but I did not see anything new from the Mayor's office as of late this afternoon. I know it's tedious but we are all better off reading the decrees or at least reputable news sources because many Colombians don't sweat the details but enjoy spreading rumors. It is not very difficult but it is not nearly as effective as it used to be. Facebook mines your e-mail and mobile phone contacts and use them to feed friend "suggestions" to you and all your contacts on any account you access regularly from the same devices. The result is your friends and family will slowly but steadily begin receiving information on their facebook timelines about people and places associated with the so-called burner account. Facebook also sends you friend requests and updates you could mistakenly click when you wrongly assume you are seeing them because you are logged into the burner account. Along with anything that is not a supermarket or pharmacy all the casas will have to shut down and give employees a two week unpaid vacation. This will kill businesses that were barely holding on. It will be a bonus for the Laureles apartments.

Apparently the mayor of Medellin announced today a lock-down of sorts beginning on July 13 in El Centro for fifteen days, along with other parts of town. Pharmacies, banks, and other essential businesses will be open. So with exception of the pharmacy near the Veracruz Church, I don't know what will happen regarding the Love hotels in the area.
If the "ground zero" area is closed, and the lock down is enforced, it will be slim pickings.

You really should step back and take a bigger look at the picture. If Colombia does open back up on September 1, I highly doubt people from the USA will be allowed in. Right now a USA Passport is pretty much useless for travel around the World. I could go on and on and on, on this one but will stay away from it.

You should maybe look into trying to get to San Andreas island.
They used to have a direct flight from Canada, or maybe from Panama or another Central American city.
Then from there do your bribing to get in.
It's Colombian territory, however, they speak primarily english.
From there, if you can get in, it's a domestic hop to Colombia.
Just a thought off the top of my head.

If you think about it, there is really no good reason to close the border for so long. There are countries that with 0 or very few cases have their borders open to some visitors. The key is to require strict self quarantine for 14 days, and maybe require insurance so visitor do not become a burden to the country. This actually can spawn a whole new industry to help the economy. Quarantine doesn't work well if it is not strictly enforced. I think they are unable to enforce it so they keep adding extension.

And, of course, when it was better (than current CR), it was mostly because of the Colombians and Nicas. The way I see it, if I can make it to the border of Colombia, I have a chance of getting in, regardless how I get there. If the US flight is canceled but the Canadian flight is open, I will hop to Canada is a heart beat. If I can manage to get on a plane to Medellin that only carries Colombia nationals on 9/1, I will do it. I don't need a fake passport to do it, I just need to be in the same boarding terminal and observe if there is an opportunity to sneak in, it must to a direct flight though, so I might have to go to Florida first. If the first attempt at the airport didn't work, I will take notes and analyze the situation, it's up to me to create the solution.
Everyday there are a ton of people sneaking in and out of the border regardless of the virus or trump's wall. Factually, we know this is a problem that is easier than landing a man on mars or inventing the time machine. I'm sure people can think of a million ways how I can fail, but I only need a single working approach. The world is overflowing with discouraging news, a little creative thinking won't do us much harm.

I went to Santo Domingo quite a while back. A street hustle named Mikey latched on to me. He was OK. He did find me some chicas, including chicas who worked in stores on the walking street. There is nothing about one that reminds me of the other; not even the language, and it is supposedly the same. Medellin = New York, USA. DR = Pueblita, Mexico. Night and day. Medellin is a big ass city and has 38,059 posts here. Sosua is a small town that you can walk everywhere and has 2 traffic lights on the main highway and has 32,015 posts here; while the capital and biggest city Santo Domingo has not even half as many posts.
Airlines conduct document checks before they allow passengers to board international flights. Along with the normal passport and visa control, airlines will verify coronavirus nationality restriction.
Your airline would probably let you know if the border was still closed to commercial flights and / or tourism.

I had a flight through spirit to leave September 1 and they canceled my flight. Unfortunately not looking good for September arrival.

There is nothing about one that reminds me of the other; not even the language, and it is supposedly the same. Medellin = New York, USA. DR = Pueblita, Mexico. Night and day. Medellin is a big ass city and has 38,059 posts here. Sosua is a small town that you can walk everywhere and has 2 traffic lights on the main highway and has 32,015 posts here; while the capital and biggest city Santo Domingo has not even half as many posts.Appreciate the insight. I just gave a quick glance on the DR thread and did a roughly comparison of the number of posts there. Good to know that it is night and day difference compare to Medellin. I have been to Costa Rica many times, I don't consider the mongering scene in Costa Rica anywhere near Medellin. I guess I will focus my energy on how to make it through that damn border if it doesn't open in September.
I can help clear this up. In March the love hotels remained open. There were fewer girls. See my posts from March for photos and descriptions of what went on. I have doubts about whether the genie can be put back in the bottle for two weeks in Centro. It's gotten to the point that there is no rhyme or reason to the revolving restrictions. Ley seca, quarantine, curfew, pico why cedula odd and even, pico why cedula two numbers per day, curfew three day holiday weekends, it's a political show based on nothing more than test result projections. This is a minor inconvenience for punters but girls and small business owners are going to suffer greatly during the next couple of weeks. Restaurant owners were making final preparations to participate in reopening trials. Many of them borrowed big to fund changes they had to make to comply with the Health Ministry's new rules. With no warning they are now under orders to change course and stick to take out and delivery only. Meanwhile they have to keep paying rent and salaries. It will make it hard for some of these businesses to survive.
Apparently the mayor of Medellin announced today a lock-down of sorts beginning on July 13 in El Centro for fifteen days, along with other parts of town. Pharmacies, banks, and other essential businesses will be open. So with exception of the pharmacy near the Veracruz Church, I don't know what will happen regarding the Love hotels in the area.
If the "ground zero" area is closed, and the lock down is enforced, it will be slim pickings.

Haven't checked the board much due to lock down. If I can't fly there why tease myself. I read the last 10 pages though. So I'll get on with it. Let's suppose Medellin rely opens up flights again in September. From what I'm reading all the bars and clubs will be closed still. As a tourist, that sucks! I have hundreds if chicas there but enjoy "finding" new ones in a relaxed drinking environment. Does that even go on anymore or is that shipped sailed until God knows when. Whats the new environment shaping up to be like upon flights opening? And the million dollar question, if Colombia will take a year to recover and its not worth the trip immediately, where do you think will be the next city or country to take the reigns. I'm not into Asian women or 18 hour+ flights. Coming from Ohio. Any recommendations baring an American lock down.

Ahem! Best be very careful! If policeman solicits a bribe; you have your chance, but if you get told you don't have the right documentation or the right prerequisites and YOU Solicit the bribe. You might get lucky and you might spend a bit of time in a cell. You've (SJobs) got the money to try another approach. Figure out what you need to either set up a co-location office for your company in Medellin, or to buy a party penthouse in Medellin. Either one and you can qualify for visa which after 5 years you can turn into a resident visa.
Once you've got your plan on paper, go to a Colombian Consulate. Explain why you need a special travel permit (without mentioning 18 year old pussy) and mention you understand you'll probably have to pay extra for the permit, pay for extra testing and quarantine.
I would think that's something you would want anyway. There are probably a few people who are looking to sell the penthouses that have sat empty for the past 4 months. You're obviously dedicated to spending as much time as possible in Medellin. Getting a 1 year visa and renewing it every year eliminates the risk you'll exceed your 180 day annual limit and be denied entry.
And when you're not using the Penthouse, you can rent it to Slapshot.

With all due respect, repeatedly describing how dire and hopeless the current situation is for Americans is also foolish. The way I see it, if I can make it to the border of Colombia, I have a chance of getting in, regardless how I get there. If the US flight is canceled but the Canadian flight is open, I will hop to Canada is a heart beat. If I can manage to get on a plane to Medellin that only carries Colombia nationals on 9/1, I will do it. I don't need a fake passport to do it, I just need to be in the same boarding terminal and observe if there is an opportunity to sneak in, it must to a direct flight though, so I might have to go to Florida first. If the first attempt at the airport didn't work, I will take notes and analyze the situation, it's up to me to create the solution.

He would not have to wait five years to obtain residency but would receive it immediately upon issuance, however he would need to make an investment, such as buying a Penthouse, it has to be at least 650 times the Colombian minimum wage to qualify or approximately $ 160,000 USD. He would also need to get this money into the Country, which is not a simple procedure as the money would need to be transferred thru a third party and documented with the Colombian government to obtain the residency permit. He would also need a Colombian attorney to prepare all the paperwork and also act as an escrow company for the real estate transaction as they don't exist in Colombia. The only glitch might be obtaining the Cedula, I don't know if Colombian embassy's issue those in the USA, as there is a requirement that it is obtained within a few weeks of obtaining the residency permit and is processed in Bogota.

I've lived in both countries for multiple years. I don't compare the 2 because they are different but one can have a great time in both.For reference I live in Medellin for 3 years but have made one 2 week trip to the DR both in the Sue and SD about 3 years ago, enjoyed my time in the DR but all in all it is different.
The biggest difference is the chicas, in the DR the vast majority are blacks, wait a moment The Tall Man loves black women and even here in Colombia will at times travel to other areas to get a taste of the black Colombians, so lots of love for them, here in Medellin you have such a range of color which makes it interesting for a guy like me.
Just know that in the DR the majority of mongers are in fact black gringos from the US, just my experience, in my hotel in the Sue it was about 80% black mongers, BUT they treated me this Tall White guy really cool, danced and partied side by side my gringo brothers, all in good fun and respect.
So as Orgasmico states yes you can have a good time in either location just subtle differences.
Now this being Sunday July the 12th and with the new restrictions being implemented for Colombia tomorrow I need to get my sorry-ass down to centro and get some numbers and see what I can find before the new restriction are imposed.

Pico and schedule never went away. It hasn't been enforced since late March but it likely will be again starting tomorrow. Rappi will still bring you anything you need but you would need to stock up on anything you must bring to the house personally. It is scheduled to last 2 weeks and applies to Centro only. I doubt you will notice it.

Based on your assessment it sounds like most of you Dominican experience is in Santo Domingo and Sosua. Am I wrong? You would find quite a bit more diversity among Dominicans and foreigners than what you described in places like San Jose de Ocoa, Constanza (large Japanese-Dominican community), Salcedo, Azua.

The problem is that the USA does a lot more testing then most other countrys so of course there is more cases I think what is most important is the number of deaths. If testing was 100% random you would need to test roughly 30% of the population before you could have an increase in number of positive results due solely to the number of tests. Even then, the increase would be small.
Start with a control group of 100.33 are infected. For every 3 tests, you should average one positive. These are all completely random. As your pool of untested shrinks, sometimes you're finding more than 1 of every 3, sometimes less. So once you've got about a third tested, you've established a reasonable idea of what more tests will show. Assuming no new infections. Whether you test 15 or all 100 you'll get about the same answer.
However, testing isn't completely random. First priority, people with symptoms. Now let's go back to the 100.18 have symptoms, they get tested and with 18 tests you've found 18 of the 33.7 others have symptoms, but are negative. With 25 tests, you have 18 positive results, indicating 72 infected people. Another 15 get tested, because they've been around someone who was infected. You get 7 more positive results. Now you've identified 25 positive results with 40 tests, still giving you a potential 72 (72.5) infected people. Add in more testing and the numbers keep dropping, until, after 100 tests, you find only 33.
Testing more people, won't find more cases, unless there are more cases to be found.
As for the financial incentive, can someone please show me the money? I understand there have been claims that there's extra financial compensation for hospitals who are willing to claim every death is COVID-19, but I haven't seen anyone showing the money. If someone is paying huge bounties for falsifying death certificates, it should show up somewhere. And I say huge, because what happens when someone proves their family member didn't die from COVID-19? Not only is there a significant payout, but it opens the floodgates. Every COVID-19 death becomes a potential million dollar settlement. That's an enormous risk.
Where does the money come from? Of course the easily debunked conspiracy theory is that Medicare and Medicaid are paying it. There are 2 significant problems with that source. First, those payments would only apply to people who are on Medicare it Medicaid. It would be rather suspicious if every person on Medicare suddenly started dying from COVID-19.
The other, more significant problem is that means Trump's own people are, apparently with Trump's approval, spending money in order to make Trump look bad. I have trouble believing that.
Now to the debunking.
Back when COVID-19 started causing problems, the Kaiser Family Foundation was asked to estimate the cost of the disease. They went back through Medicare records to determine the average cost for treatment of diseases requiring similar treatment. What was the final bill? How much for ICU? How much for a ventilator? Then they published their findings.
On April 8, on the Fox News show "The Ingraham Angle", Sen. Scott Jensen (R-MN) was interviewed and made the claim of extra payments, using the KFF numbers. However, those aren't extra payments. Those are the estimated costs.
In addition, Medicare doesn't pay hospitals extra for deaths. "Patient didn't survive? Here's another $10,000 for your trouble. "
The number of positive cases can't double from increased random testing, unless the number of positive people has also doubled. The number of deaths is not because the Trump administration is trying to make the Trump administration look bad.

Where she is, there has been a shutdown of all nonessential business until July 31 and a restriction on all nonessential movement. I do not know if that covers all of Antioquia. She told me that there has been an outbreak of Corona (I think she may have been hit by the virus herself) and there are no hospital beds open in her area.

As far as the visas go, there are 2 distinct classes and several different types. The classes are Temporary and Permanent. To get a Permanent visa you have to hold a Temporary visa, without any breaks of more than 6 months for a period of 5 years. There might be some types of visa which only require 3 years. A permanent visa gives you the option of applying for citizenship. At least that's what I picked up when I was researching all of this.
A Temporary resident visa wouldn't qualify him for a repatriation flight, hence he would need to finagle a special travel permit. Most problems of this type can be overcome if you're willing to spend the money, and you have enough.

The 180 day limit is mostly due to income tax. I would not stay at any countries for more than 180 days if I don't want to pay income tax in two countries with residency or not.
US citizens pay income tax regardless where they live. The only way to avoid paying is to stay out of US the whole tax year then you get some exemption and it depends on the source of income.

As far as the visas go, there are 2 distinct classes and several different types. The classes are Temporary and Permanent. To get a Permanent visa you have to hold a Temporary visa, without any breaks of more than 6 months for a period of 5 years. There might be some types of visa which only require 3 years. A permanent visa gives you the option of applying for citizenship. At least that's what I picked up when I was researching all of this.
A Temporary resident visa wouldn't qualify him for a repatriation flight, hence he would need to finagle a special travel permit. Most problems of this type can be overcome if you're willing to spend the money, and you have enough.My post was about obtaining an "investors visa" which qualifies you for residency, and is good for five years and obtaining this type of visa does not require obtaining a temporary visa first, but making an investment. And to obtain the Cedula, your Passport needs to be sent to Bogota to obtain the Visa that they paste into your Passport (and you don't need to appear in person to do this), and with the visa than in your Passport you can obtain a Cedula at any immigration office.
As far as buying real estate in Colombia it's tricky, kind of like the wild west with no escrow or title companies, and lots of gringos get burned and duped in the process.

The 180 day limit is mostly due to income tax. I would not stay at any countries for more than 180 days if I don't want to pay income tax in two countries with residency or not.
US citizens pay income tax regardless where they live. The only way to avoid paying is to stay out of US the whole tax year then you get some exemption and it depends on the source of income.Regardless of the type of visa someone has in Colombia for a period greater than six months like a student visa, investor visa, retiree visa, if that person is in the Country more than 180 days they are considered a "tax resident" and are required to file in Colombia, albeit that doesn't mean they will owe any taxes. Lots of gringos living in Medellin don't file as they should, and the Colombian IRS which is DIAN are getting more sophisticated, and will eventually catch up to them with possible fines and non-renewal of their visas.

What you say makes really sense, but it needs to be completed. Unfortunately the number of deaths are just an element of the picture. The curve of "deaths" follows with say 2-3 weeks delay the curve of "conclamated sick", which in turn follows the curve of "infected" by other 1-2 weeks. This means that when we count deaths today, in the increasing phase of curves in USA, we are looking at the conclusion of something happened at least 1 month before.

However, Taxi's and motorcycles were able to cross the bridge to the other side without stopping. The border may be closed, but you can probably cross under the bridge into Colombia.
Spoke to a Venezuelan friend recently, she entered into Cucuta, Colombia from Venezuela last week without any problems and is now in Bogota. They have a "trocha" system over there, where a guide will escort you to the other side. It's risky, as people are sometimes stopped and their belongings searched / robbed. Impromptu ISG member's meet up today, July 12th, at Botero park / La Vera.
So The Tall Man spent most of this afternoon meeting up with Pollo Negro and another member #3 on this board (did not specifically ask his permission to use member #3 name) at Botero and walked the whole area and shared stories and experiences, all in good fun.
Being a Late Sunday afternoon and early evening there was a deffinate reduced number of chicas in Botero and Vera and other adjoining areas. After a few hours member #3 and myself took a drive to San Diego to check out the street scene then over to Mayorista to see what was out, absolutely nothing out at Mayorista, it was ghost town.

I saw that the Tall Man was going to hang out in Centro so I decided I would call and see if I could tag along. Very good outing, we walked Botero Park and it was my first time there in 2 months. Very good guy to socilaize with and we shared some great techniques about our different styles of approaching girls. We had another gringo with us and my girlfriend's brother, so it was a good way to walk the park and see what was going on for the day.
Just as I had stated in the previous posts the bosses are still in the park and they were much more visible today than I had ever seen before. I was there to socialize and not hunt, so it did not make much of a difference to me.
I really did notice that the park had very limited tourist police and for nearly 40 minute to an hour as me and the Tall Man spoke, It was weird that they did not leave from in front of the Museum the Antioquia. This was very new to me, because if you were up by Tostoa and Premiere Plaza, it would have been extremely easy for a group of Vennie's to rob you and no one would be there to aid you. Pre-quarantine, the entire park was crawling with tourist police so I have on idea why there are so few in the park nowadays.
I also pointed out to the Tall Man, that it was about 2 to 300 chics in the park, but there were probably only 10 clients in the park. So go figure, at what the girls are willing to charge for a date when the competition to find a date is so overwhelming, it is definitely a buyers market right now. No matter how nice the girls look and no matter how many girls were in the park, you saw very limited movement from the girls as in pre-quarantine you would see girls and clients going and coming from the short term hotels.

I don't want to open the can of worms like SJobs trying to get into the country, illegally, but I currently have a passport and two other forms of ID. I've been using whichever one applies to the day I want to go out, for 4 months. I have not been stopped by police, at a time when I wasn't carrying my passport. However, I think when I barely carry cash, and explain there's no way I'm bringing my passport out in public when embassies are closed or slowed, and I need to return home soon. That much more discussion would be had. I would just spat my actual passport number rapidly with a corresponding last digit, and see what happens. If I get fined, I get fined. Anything more would be terrible, but I just can't see that happening over me going to Carulla or walking through Botero (which I won't be doing until August, if at all).

One option that may be viable is to fly to Lima, Peru and then travel by land to the Ecuador / Colombia border. Don't know about the bus situation at the moment. Perhaps buy a cheap car or motorcycle. The Ecuador / Colombia border is a bridge. Immigration offices were on either side. My information isn't up to date, but in December, there was a Immigration officer on the bridge that would ask pedestrians for documentation. However, Taxi's and motorcycles were able to cross the bridge to the other side without stopping. The border may be closed, but you can probably cross under the bridge into Colombia.

I saw a few and asked my girlfriend's brother how old were they and he assured me that the ones that I saw were in the age range of 20-21, to me they looked younger.

You are talking about Lima, so of course you would have to fly from there to Iquitos. From there you would have to take a 13 hour boat ride through the Amazon Jungle to Leticia, the Colombian part of the Amazon Jungle. Then you would have to take one flight to Bogota and then another flight to Medellin. Don't know how you would take said flights if your passport has not been scanned into the country by immigration. But I guess you would also have to worry about sneaking into Peru before any of the other steps mentioned since it is closed too.

I'm going to disagree on these 2 points.
If testing was 100% random you would need to test roughly 30% of the population before you could have an increase in number of positive results due solely to the number of tests. Even then, the increase would be small.
Start with a control group of 100.33 are infected. For every 3 tests, you should average one positive. These are all completely random. As your pool of untested shrinks, sometimes you're finding more than 1 of every 3, sometimes less. So once you've got about a third tested, you've established a reasonable idea of what more tests will show. Assuming no new infections. Whether you test 15 or all 100 you'll get about the same answer.
However, testing isn't completely random. First priority, people with symptoms. Now let's go back to the 100.18 have symptoms, they get tested and with 18 tests you've found 18 of the 33.7 others have symptoms, but are negative. With 25 tests, you have 18 positive results, indicating 72 infected people. Another 15 get tested, because they've been around someone who was infected. You get 7 more positive results. Now you've identified 25 positive results with 40 tests, still giving you a potential 72 (72.5) infected people. Add in more testing and the numbers keep dropping, until, after 100 tests, you find only 33.
Testing more people, won't find more cases, unless there are more cases to be found.
As for the financial incentive, can someone please show me the money? I understand there have been claims that there's extra financial compensation for hospitals who are willing to claim every death is COVID-19, but I haven't seen anyone showing the money. If someone is paying huge bounties for falsifying death certificates, it should show up somewhere. And I say huge, because what happens when someone proves their family member didn't die from COVID-19? Not only is there a significant payout, but it opens the floodgates. The only way I can think of you getting back to Medellin quickly short of everything to date mentioned is that you would have to assume the identity of either a Colombian Citizen or perhaps a Colombian resident somewhere in the world who can return on a humanitarian flight approved by Colombian immigration. I am clueless as how you might go about doing this short of enlisting a CIA operative to assist you, and you might have to get a phony face like something out of a Tom Cruise movie.

My post was about obtaining an "investors visa" which qualifies you for residency, and is good for five years and obtaining this type of visa does not require obtaining a temporary visa first, but making an investment. And to obtain the Cedula, your Passport needs to be sent to Bogota to obtain the Visa that they paste into your Passport (and you don't need to appear in person to do this), and with the visa than in your Passport you can obtain a Cedula at any immigration office.
As far as buying real estate in Colombia it's tricky, kind of like the wild west with no escrow or title companies, and lots of gringos get burned and duped in the process.My Colombian visa was put in my passport at the Colombian consulate in Boston, Massachusetts. They are going to make you as an imposter within 30 seconds.
OK let's say somehow unlikely though it may be, that your bribe works (I doubt it will) and they let you in. What next? You mail the passport back to the owner right? But that passport will have an entry into Colombia but no entry into the US. When your "friend" tries to use his passport in the future it will set off warning bells at the immigration desk when he tries to enter Colombia and the stamp shows he already entered but never left. Likewise my friend, if you ever try to use your US passport to go back home after you have had your fill of tail and you don't get caught in Colombia, when you enter the US your passport will show that you left the US but never had an entry stamp anywhere (you used the Colombian passport to get in) and now you are trying to reenter after having gone nowhere for some huge amount of time. You're going to end up in jail. Maybe a Colombian jail, or if you get really lucky, a US jail.

As far as I know, US only does entry stamps and not exit stamps, for non US passport holders. Not sure if they do entry stamps for US passport holders. With global entry they don't stamp anything while entering the country for US passports.
Many countries including Colombia do entry and exit stamps for foreigners. Not sure how closely they match them up, but they are usually stamped close by.

So if the Passport is not stamped and the immigration officer doesn't swipe and log the arrival in the system, exiting the Country will be a problem. It should be noted that Colombia does have an automated entry system into the Country similar to Global Entry in the USA that if your signed up for it you don't even see an immigration officer upon entry, you just go to a kiosk and I think they have a bio-metric scanning system.

I wanted to add that I've crossed by foot from El Paso into Mexico, two times with the entry station closed and not getting stamped. I did have to obtain the stamp at CDMX airport both times. So land entry into counties without a stamp is possible. And I'd imagine it's definitely possible at the Venezuela / Colombia border.
I travel on two passports. I always leave the states on my USA passport and travel on my other passport. Thus, when I return to the states and present my USA passport that does not have any stamps in it, I've never been so much as questioned about it.

You can say you had extreme food poisoning and you need to rest and recuperate for a few days. You will get all your proper entry and exit stamps etc. Everything is perfectly legal. Shortly thereafter they send you to prison to wait until they have finished building their case against you. There is no time limit. From what I've heard, 1 to 2 years is expected. If they decide you aren't worth prosecuting, they'll check with the prison to find out if you're still alive. If you are, you'll be taken to the airport and sent out with a do not return notice. If they decide to prosecute you, they'll go through the motions, convict you and decide how much longer you get to stay in the prison. When you're released, to the airport, get out, don't come back.
Before you take the risk, head down to Tijuana. Do something to get arrested. It used to be pretty easy. Just get drunk and look for a police officer. Spend a few days in the Tijuana jail before asking if you can pay a fine and go home. At least then you'll have a tiny glimmer of an idea about spending a few years in a Colombian prison.

As far as I know, US only does entry stamps and not exit stamps, for non US passport holders. Not sure if they do entry stamps for US passport holders. With global entry they don't stamp anything while entering the country for US passports.
Many countries including Colombia do entry and exit stamps for foreigners. Not sure how closely they match them up, but they are usually stamped close by.
Also, there is the situation with dual citizenship / passport holders. Say US and Colombian passports. Usually, the standard operating procedure for this scenario is to enter and exit each country with its own passport. So the stamps don't match up, unless both the passports are examined together.
As far as I know, US will admit it's citizens, as long as they prove citizenship. I don't think they really care how you left the country. Not sure what Colombian policy is on admitting it's citizens.

Staying at the Mansion the whole time isn't what I would do, but it might be the right thing for him. Everyone has to figure out their comfort level. If he decides after a few days that he wants to stay the whole time at the Mansion, he might be out of luck. Worst case he spends longer there than needed and is more prepared to go solo on his next trip.

I'm not that dumb, but there's about 40 units here, and I've only had a conversation with one resident. It's understood that the offices which handled extending the "tourist visa" are not doing anything for a while.
But my 6 month anniversary is in a month. If the airports re-open by September 1st, I would have no legitimate reason to prolong my stay.
It might be safe to just get back to the States and wait for next year so that my 180 days renews.
