Will be interesting to see what the city does to either ignore or suppress this. Mde you mention has been there for the past 12 or so years I've been eating there. I don't think they've been open much longer than that. More significantly, you will find the same sign at several of the others restuarants along the carrera 33 strip (Relato etc.) and elsewhere in Provenza. I just visited El Centro yesterday and now I can give you an informed opinion about the street walkers there. I did two separate walks through the streets near the church and this is what I thought. But most of that information can be derived from your passport when you go to the immigration. I just filled out because I don't want any hassles and they do say that you need to fill it out before arriving and leaving Colombia. They don't actually ask for that for form in immigration but they have the information in the computer. I wouldn't know if that's the airline usually ask to see that form before they allow you to go on the airplane.

In reference to an earlier post, the Scotiabank ATM I went to has the Colpatria branding. It's the one inside Jumbo La 70. This one charges a fee. They might have had started the fee recently since there was a report back from March that says Scotiabank wasn't charging fees.
The Davivienda on La 70 was closed these days but there's a sign on the door that pointed people to the one in Jumbo. This ATM doesn't appear on Google Maps when you search for "Davivienda ATM / Davivienda cajero" or whatever combination of that. It's at the back end of the Jumbo (not inside the supermarket but you need to walk along the entrance hallway down), a bit hidden away. This Davivienda also dispenses 50 mil bills vs the one on Cra 70 that dispenses 100's.

I was previously a registered user with them, meaning all of my Passport information etc. Was already in the system and when I filled out the form online last week to depart Colombia it asked me for my arrival information even though after I started the form checking the Departure box.
I tried several times and knew something was amiss, so decided to instead of logging in as a frequent user meaning all my Passport information I started the process without logging in as a frequent traveler and it went thru.
As far as USA on the menu, as I recall it's listed as Estados Unidos not USA.
Regardless, unless the airline asks for the form, I don't think it's going to be a problem if you haven't filled out the form beforehand as it saves time, although in Bogota they had people checking all arriving passengers and assisting them, but have never seen that in Medellin.

What the hell, that's not fair. I checked again last night and my status is still "pending review" but I realized it was only a few months ago that I filed my renewal. I don't know why I thought it was more than a year. Anyway, I was able to use Global Entry just three weeks ago so what they told me about it remaining valid pending review is correct. That's the most important thing. I'm surprised they still issue cards since it all seems to be based on facial recognition these days. I did not have to show my passport or retrieve the photo receipt the kiosks used to spit out. I also noticed on the web site that Brazilians are eligible for Global Entry and Dominicans are or will also soon be eligible. I suppose my renewal takes longer because I haven't lived in the United States for years.

YMMV, context is key, I am not Colombian but speak very good Spanish, I blend in in looks, and have low body fat. I know that Colombians are outgoing positive people and I try to match that vibe. My number one tip to anyone going there more than once is try to learn as much Spanish as possible and try not to be another boring gringo who has to use google translate the whole time. The only problem was that I had to wait in the regular lane to get the interview. I had my interview at FLL. When I used Global Entry the first time it was at MIA. I just went through a kiosk and they did not look at my passport. The Pre Check alone is worth it especially on holidays.

These other programs are good if you frequently cross via foot / car into Canada or Mexico. Now that I live in SoCal it's good for when I want to make a trek down to Tijuana for some debauchery. My last trip to Tijuana I ended up coming back across right when that "stay in Mexico" program was ending and all of those refugees were lined up to try to come into the USA. There was a hours long line, but I was able to just side step all of that and from the time I jumped out my cab and cross back into the usa was like 5 minutes. It'd had been hours if I didn't have global entry.

Yeah, GE is $100, but many, many credit cards offer up a $100 rebate if you buy GE so in essence it is free for a many travelers.
I agree that mobile passport blows away the regular lines and it is an alternative to GE but I have done both, and GE is way, way better.

Usually it only takes a minute or so. I go to the agent and he will ask you a few questions and you're done. You don't get any special privileges when you are in Colombia but the additional feature of TSA PreCheck is wonderful. Much quicker and you don't have to take things out of your bag.
It is well worth the $100 for 5 years. A bargain. Free if you have certain credit cards.

If you go to a known red light district, you will see many scantily clad women. 99.9% of them will have sex with you for money. I can't confirm or deny what New Life does. As for the others (Aiffe, Amigas Sexxy, Aventura, Zandaly), no they do not charge locals or regular known customers a viewing fee. They do use the viewing fee to control and discourage large groups of Lookie Lou tourists from clogging the reception areas and tiring the girls with lineups that don't make them or the casa any money. It's been a while but I'd say Parque LLeras averages a 6 and Centro averages a 4. Your chances of find a 9 in Lleras is about as good as finding a 7 in Centro. One upside to Centro is that there are a fair number of bars and casas in the vicinity. If you want to get a look without going just peek at the numerous Youtube videos out there for Centro Medellin. They're of course showing the best of what they've shot but it'll give a sampling.Damn were deciding a trip otu to medellin after being in cartagena. The regular contributors in this thread can advise you better on Medellin. I've spent a total of three weeks there over the years and have dated and / or banged five women I can remember. I've actually banged a lot more paisas outside of Medellin than in the city. Also, I've only spent a week in Mexico City. But I know Panama City, Costa Rica, and Cartagena reasonably well. The cities are all drawing from the same pool, Colombian and Venezuelan hotties, with a considerable number from Medellin and the surrounding area. Mexico City, and to a lesser extent Panama have hotties from other countries as well. For all women, not just the most attractive, Medellin is #1, Cartagena #2, Mexico City #3, and Panama City last. When people see an attractive looking woman in Panama, they'll often assume she's a hooker from Colombia or Venezuela. Costa Rica doesn't rate highly because immigration there is trying to shut out the Colombians and Venezuelans. Just considering the natives, I'd rate Costa Rica ahead of Panama and Mexico City.
Club or bar scene with hookers - Cartagena is #1. Costa Rica is in a tie for 2nd. You can stay at the Taormina hotel in San Jose and or the Cocal in Jaco, and just bang the women in the clubs and casinos in the same hotel complex. Panama ties with CR. There's one hooker bar called Habanos where a lot hang out, as well as the Ocean Sun Casino, in the old Trump hotel. There's a place in #4 Medellin called Gustos that reputedly is overpriced. The experts here can advise. Mexico City is last. If you prefer higher end options the best are escorts in Mexico City.
Massage Parlors, Brothels and Strip Clubs -- I can only rate Panama and Costa Rica, and give the edge to Panama. If you go there, don't miss Golden Time (brothel). LE Palace strip club is worth a look, although I've never pulled from there. Costa Rica does have some decent cheaper massage options, and Panama's got a couple of dirt cheap brothels if you're happy doing the deed in 15 minutes.
Girl friendly accommodations -- Mexico City is #1. Hotels are typically girl friendly. Panama #2. You should find good AirBnb options, and if you pick and choose you'll find a good girl friendly hotel. I've stayed at a lot of hotels in Panama and nobody ever prevented me from entering with a date, but I'm crafty. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say Medellin is #3. And Costa Rica is #4, at least in San Jose.
Food -- Mexico City is first. Panama City is #2. Cartagena next. Medellin and Costa Rica come in last.
English Friendly -- Costa Rica #1, Panama #2, Mexico City #3, Medellin and Cartagena tied for last.
Other things to do -- This depends on whether you want to stay in the city, do long day trips, or actually are willing to spend a few days in an area where you have to BYOP (bring your own poontang) . For having a lot to see close to the city, I'd rate Mexico City #1. Chapultepec Park, the Anthropology Museum, and especially the ruins at Teotihuacan are all worth seeing. Costa Rica would be best for day trips, to volcanos and the rain forest. Manuel Antonio National Park would make a good, long day trip from Jaco, Costa Rica. The Arenal volcano / hot springs area is a great place in Costa Rica to visit if you're willing to spend a couple of days. Panama City has the canal close by. If you're willing to spend 6 hours or so driving, the trip to Chiriqui province from Panama City along the coast and then into the mountains. Is great. Bocas del Toro is worth a visit too. Medellin comes in last in this category.
Climate -- I prefer a cooler climate. As such I'd rate Mexico City first, Medellin second, San Jose Costa Rica third, and Jaco, Panama and Cartagena last.

Woould love your 2 cents.I never been to Panama and Costa Rica so I can't give you input for both, but I've been to Cartagena and Medellin for the past 3 years. As much as I love Cartagena, I would always pick Medellin as the better city.
Here are my perspective of why:
Medellin is a bigger city and you have more options when it comes to finding women and daytime or tourist attractions. Weather is also cooler.
Parque lleras: This is the number one spot for night time activities. You can find huge amount of working girls here that ranges from 6-7. Some 8's as well, but you have to look. There's also a lot of nightclubs here where you can take the girls, if you want to dance and drink. You'll have more options as the night goes by especially after midnight.
Gusto: It is located inside Parque lleras. It compares to Dolce Vita or Space in Cartagena. Nightclub with working girls hanging around inside. I don't really recommend this spot cause the girls here will charge you gringo prices. I had one girl tried to charged me $300 USD for an hour LOL. Quality of girls here ranges from 7-9.
Strip clubs and brothel:
La isla: I'd recommend this spot and I'm pretty sure you'll find what you're looking for here. Very huge and has more seating than Fase dos or you can just chill at the bar. Plenty of beautiful girls to choose from. I recommend to come after midnight. I had a good time on my last visit. You can take the girls out for a fee or you can get a room and do the deed directly at the club. There's 50,000 pesos entry fee. Quality of girls ranges from 7-10.
Fase dos: I was never disappointed whenever I come here. A smaller club but you will get a variety of girls to choose from if you come after midnight. Quality of girls ranges from 6-8.
Loutron: it's one of Pablo Escobar's house turned into brothel. It's a huge house that has bar, pools and entertainment. You will be given a lined up of girls. The girls will come to you one by one to Introduce themselves and tell their names. I went on a Thursday night and was given a lined up of 8 girls. I had a hard time picking one LOL. Depending on which day you go, you get more variety on the weekend. The quality ranges from 7-10. After you picked the girl, she will escort you to the room and have your fun.

First taxi offer was 98000 COP, I declined. Second taxi offer was 90,000 COP, I declined. I had my driver meet me at my arrival point. My normal driver was not available as it it was his day off. So, he arranged for an associate of his to take his place. His associate got out of his car, opened the trunk and and opened my door and closed it behind me like I was a VIP. Inside of the taxi he confirmed my destination as his associated had provided the information to me. I arrived at my destination without incident. I gave the driver 120000 COP. And I noted the surprised look on his face. And he thanked me profusely. I don't give a fuck about the posted rate. I got good service and whatever the rate actually is then the amount above that is a personal gift. I have never complained about the overcharge and in fact I have made fun of people who have a problem with the fact I paid 5-7 USD more. Other Cheep Charlies can take the mother fucking bus or Uber. I am a VIP. I know it and got the mother fucking stack to back it up..

Gusto: It is located inside Parque lleras. It compares to Dolce Vita or Space in Cartagena. Nightclub with working girls hanging around inside. I don't really recommend this spot cause the girls here will charge you gringo prices. I had one girl tried to charged me $300 USD for an hour LOL. Quality of girls here ranges from 7-9.$300 is the standard rate. I was there in December with a group that was a mix of ISG members and a local expat friend of one of the members. Complete rip-off. I would have gotten a few numbers at the least if the price wasn't so insulting.

You're lucky. Normally a newbie won't get a substantive reply to a post like this, but since a couple of people here recently questioned my bona fides, I'll reply.
The regular contributors in this thread can advise you better on Medellin. I've spent a total of three weeks there over the years and have dated and / or banged five women I can remember. I've actually banged a lot more paisas outside of Medellin than in the city. Also, I've only spent a week in Mexico City. But I know Panama City, Costa Rica, and Cartagena reasonably well. Also, be aware I'm not that price sensitive. I'm more likely to pursue higher cost options than some here.
They're all worth visiting. If I were looking to wife up with a hooker for a week, Cartagena would be my choice hands down.
But anyway here's my two cents. I throw in Cartagena to some of the categories for your comparison.
Beauty of Women -- For the more attractive women, Cartagena, Medellin and Mexico City tied for first, with Panama a c*nt hair behind. The cities are all drawing from the same pool, Colombian and Venezuelan hotties, with a considerable number from Medellin and the surrounding area. Mexico City, and to a lesser extent Panama have hotties from other countries as well. For all women, not just the most attractive, Medellin is #1, Cartagena #2, Mexico City #3, and Panama City last. When people see an attractive looking woman in Panama, they'll often assume she's a hooker from Colombia or Venezuela. Costa Rica doesn't rate highly because immigration there is trying to shut out the Colombians and Venezuelans. Just considering the natives, I'd rate Costa Rica ahead of Panama and Mexico City.
Club or bar scene with hookers - Cartagena is #1. Costa Rica is in a tie for 2nd. You can stay at the Taormina hotel in San Jose and or the Cocal in Jaco, and just bang the women in the clubs and casinos in the same hotel complex. Panama ties with CR. There's one hooker bar called Habanos where a lot hang out, as well as the Ocean Sun Casino, in the old Trump hotel. There's a place in #4 Medellin called Gustos that reputedly is overpriced. The experts here can advise. Mexico City is last. If you prefer higher end options the best are escorts in Mexico City.
Massage Parlors, Brothels and Strip Clubs -- I can only rate Panama and Costa Rica, and give the edge to Panama. If you go there, don't miss Golden Time (brothel). LE Palace strip club is worth a look, although I've never pulled from there. Costa Rica does have some decent cheaper massage options, and Panama's got a couple of dirt cheap brothels if you're happy doing the deed in 15 minutes.
Girl friendly accommodations -- Mexico City is #1. Hotels are typically girl friendly. Panama #2. You should find good AirBnb options, and if you pick and choose you'll find a good girl friendly hotel. I've stayed at a lot of hotels in Panama and nobody ever prevented me from entering with a date, but I'm crafty. I'm going to take a wild guess here and say Medellin is #3. And Costa Rica is #4, at least in San Jose.
Food -- Mexico City is first. Panama City is #2. Cartagena next. Medellin and Costa Rica come in last.
English Friendly -- Costa Rica #1, Panama #2, Mexico City #3, Medellin and Cartagena tied for last.
Other things to do -- This depends on whether you want to stay in the city, do long day trips, or actually are willing to spend a few days in an area where you have to BYOP (bring your own poontang) . For having a lot to see close to the city, I'd rate Mexico City #1. Chapultepec Park, the Anthropology Museum, and especially the ruins at Teotihuacan are all worth seeing. Costa Rica would be best for day trips, to volcanos and the rain forest. Manuel Antonio National Park would make a good, long day trip from Jaco, Costa Rica. The Arenal volcano / hot springs area is a great place in Costa Rica to visit if you're willing to spend a couple of days. Panama City has the canal close by. If you're willing to spend 6 hours or so driving, the trip to Chiriqui province from Panama City along the coast and then into the mountains. Is great. Bocas del Toro is worth a visit too. Medellin comes in last in this category.
Climate -- I prefer a cooler climate. As such I'd rate Mexico City first, Medellin second, San Jose Costa Rica third, and Jaco, Panama and Cartagena last.
Then get a room in San Peter that faces away from LA 70. Each floor in that building has the same design. 3 units on each floor. 2 face LA 70. 1 unit faces the other side. I was told it isn't as noisy as the other 2 rooms. But it is slightly more expensive.Its always nice to have Plan be and see.
Energy and San Peter are good but I thought there must be lots of other airbnbs in Medellin that are located on higher floors with fantastic views.
So far I have found just one more in laureles but it does not have AC and is noisy as well.

You are correct. I can understand how it can be confusing for Americans because the Global Entry program is open to or being opened to citizens of several countries, including Colombia and Dominican Republic. I was very interested in BioMig when it was introduced a year or two ago. I did not pursue it because a sign near the BioMig turnstiles in Medellin lists the requirements, of which one is "ser Colombiano."

I would like to know as well, that would come in clutch.I have no idea what any of this is about. When I leave I go through normal security to get on the plane, and yes, someone looks at my passport at some point, but it's not like coming into the country through "migracion". Perhaps what you are all talking about is something to do with flights to the USA? I certainly did not need any bio mig or check mig or anything.

That being the case as I reported before it I only saw three people use BioMag. But if it is available to me the loss of privacy is worth getting back 72 minutes and 40 seconds back of my life, by not having to stand in line for the process. Interesting observation. The immigration agent I was called to was closest to the BioMag kiosks. He paused my process to go monitor the three people who arrive to leave through BioMag. And it still only took 20 seconds.
Seems we have a personal choice issue. Like my personal choice not to use Uber, ride the bus or pay 800000 COP for pussy. LOL!
Long time reader and researcher, finally checked out Medellin. Stayed in a great airbnb in Laureles, only $35 ish a night. No on-site security but has security doors that alarm if left open too long plus cameras. Felt safe, place was quiet and affordable. Good restaurants near and the Exito super-walmart like complex had everything I needed 2 minute walk away.
Built a FB roster a few months prior to going and it was very successful for me. Got a handful of Whatsapp #'s. All turned out very good to great. No complaints, never needed to go out in the wild and pick from the street. Good attitudes and willingness from the ones I chose. One turned out to be a complete non pro who didn't want anything from me except taxi money and a good time.
During the daytime I checked out parlors including Ellas erotic, energy, and of course Loutron. Loutron, while expensive for Medellin, is a really cool experience. I will return.
Went to parque lleras only once during the day, just checked out the area and had some drinks. With all my FB options and staying 30 minutes away in Laureles, I didn't have the need or desire to get tipsy in lleras looking for talent on this trip. I will party in this area on my second trip.
I am already planning a return as soon as I can, going to take the non pro I lucked into out to Guatape for a day, and party more in lleras for that experience. Medellin is a great time but without prior research it would be overwhelming for some.

Biomig can be used by foreigners to exit, but not to enter.
Also it appears checkmig is a thing of the past. I did not fill it out on purpose. He scanned my passport and looked in the computer and asked if I was going to Barranquilla. I said no staying in Bogota. Did you ask because you see that is where I entered last time? He said yes and handed my passport back and said see you later.

Wow! The last time I went to New Life they only charged you a viewing fee if you didn't pick a girl from a line up. Can anyone confirm that all casas in Medelland are doing this or which ones? More upcharging.It's $1-2, I think that there are bigger issues we can discuss.

A buddy and I went last night to lleras to scope out what talent was roaming about on a Saturday night. Being that this week is the feria de las flores, the city is packed with even more people than normal. Most restaurants in provenza and calle 10 and the park were full and a great atmosphere. We talked with several girls and groups of girls that were working. Quotes for ratos were anywhere from 300 mil to 600 mil. We speak decent spanish which helped in having some conversation and all were willing to reduce their rates, a few to between 150 mil and 250 mil. We took them to have a drink and dance at one of the fondas. In every single country on this website, you will see you guys complaining about other guys. Colombia is no exception. I don't spend much time thinking about what other guys are doing. I just do what I do and I find that I'm still having a good time in Medellin. It may have been better in the past before it became popular but it is still good here in Medellin.
For the El Centro rats, all these new gringos isn't really affecting the street scene in El Centro. And so far in my experiences on Facebook, it doesn't really have much of an impact on the girls that I want to see. There are so many girls available that if a girl is asking too much, I just move on to the next girl and there is always another girl available.
I would also say that Colombia is more than just Medellin. If you find yourself thinking that there are too many gringos in Medellin, I would say try another city and that will solve the problem.

Thanks.No need to book a 'fake ticket', just book a refundable one way fare and have it refunded once done with entry. Yes the airlines check the return ticket. Usually same airline so it's automatic. But this last time it was better with 2 separate one ways for me, so I did that and they asked. Took me a while to find it, And they weren't relenting.

Bravo! That's the way you do it! Chat with the chicas a bit and establish a rapport. While there may be some overlap, it is not a lot. Most of the girls hanging out in Botero are not attractive enough to get business in Lleras and that is why Llleras is tougher for them. Any full service airline (I am excluding the Spirits, wingos, and Frontiers of the world) offers fully refundable tickets. Buy one then cancel it for a refund after you are done with immigration. You have to pay attention to the difference between "refundable" and "redeemable. " Cost is $0 and the time it takes to click through the purchase page of the airline's web site.

Hello gentlemen, I just wanted to report my second visit to tantra spa. In my last post, I said I'd be visiting absolute spa next but I was in the neighborhood again and decided to take a 15 minute detour and return, hoping my last girl was there again. Wingo also takes the confirmation code of any airline as proof of what they are asking for. I find it curious that the airlines spend more time focused on the issue than immigration does. That has been my experience.
And please remember that you can also use a car sharing app or ride the bus leave the airport when drivers are trying to overcharge you. Or you can do like I do and just pay the higher fee or do like I do now just have my driver meet me at the airport. And when it is late, I pay the higher fee as a personal gift for the service I receive.

There are a number of girls that don't negotiate and expect payment but far from all. You have to read them a bit. I find it helps to have lunch or coffee and look if she's showing up on her own dime or not, and even how eager she is to move to your place. Personally I prefer to not scare off the nonpros so I wait to see what the girl will say or do. If she wants a regalito I'd just give her 200 or 250. I would say I've almost always had a better experience with those "regalito" types than the ones who give me the whole menu, time limits, and a rule book. My philosophy also is why pay for what you can get for free. I've also had one or two charge me the first time and then say they'd go out with me for free.As is often the case with guys on this site, you seem to have some fantasies going on in your head. The typical Medellin girl that finds her way on a foreigner's Facebook friend list is working, selling sexual services, content, or both and most if not all that you felt like you got "for free" felt cheated after the fact but didn't have the courage to ask for her money. That's assuming you aren't blowing smoke which is common enough here.
P.S. Also a lot of these girls are part of organized businesses and have handlers.
Quick question just landed today and I am surprised that most of the FB girls I am talking are not asking.
Money, as soon as I talk to them they ask where and when to come, is this normal for them to come without talking for money upfront or I will get surprise after they come to hotel or session?If you are just talking to them, it is no surprise that they do not talk about money right away. I've always thought it's best to ask them how much for their time, or if they'd like a gift, to get an understanding of expectations. I had a couple situations years ago where things were not agreed to before and the girl expected outrageous amounts. Making a scene, one even called the cops (was the DR).
Some will say not to negotiate and see what you can get for free, but I don't agree with this tactic either. The truth is that you will get some free sex, but it's not because the girl is in love, it's more likely that she's just new to the game and afraid of the confrontation with a 250 lb dude. I've seen guys leave a live in girlfriend of a week high and dry (ie didn't pay a dime) and fly out. It just doesn't seem right to me.
