We can kill two birds with one stone. You can cure your boredom by spending an hour or two to RTFF about Centro casas and have information you need to guide your wingman.
My wingman who has been to Medellin a few times didn't want to goto centro without a guide, he says its too dangerous to walk around as a foreigner. I wanted to go during the day, but we didn't know exactly where all the casa are.

If all you want is chicas then just go to plaza botero during the daytime hours, problem solved. There is nothing to be afraid of there just use your common sense and you will be fine.
My very first visit to Medellin I went to Botero and no one killed me.

You don't know where things are. You can go again around 4 PM or before noon, walk further inside find the white church Veracruz That is where you can find them. When you leave, it will be the opposite direction, go straight and walk across the street and turn right at the light. You will find two strip clubs. You should be able to see the big rabbit ear sign from the park, or google Conejitas.

Crazy, I was so close.The other club is Grill Nueva Avenida. I don't know the current price. It was 70 K maybe a year ago but I have seen a guy paid much more. That should give you a base to negotiate from. The Centro girls should be about 40 K and the cost of the room. If it's late but metro is still running. I would just walk straight to metro instead of calling Uber.

Just finishing a 11 day trip. I got in late at night on the 10 pm flight on Spirit from FLL. I was not happy to pay 150 K* to Centro but that is a problem with those early flights. The good news is at that hour there is no traffic. Going thru Customs is a breeze instead the usual 90 minute if you come in the afternoon.
Everything seems pretty much the same as my last trip around 6 months ago. Of course for most of my trip t got around 3700 rate from the ATM. Now it is 3900. Barra Exutiva It is on Calle 53. Best value for a strip club. Plenty of 8's for 150 K.

You also have avenida de greiff and the Raudal area (although those girls are all old and fat). I would love to know which hotel you stayed at. I am not into clubs or streets. You are having a low success rate with girls coming to your hotel because you are asking Lleras girls. The one who accepted did it at night because it was convenient to her Lleras schedule. During the day, these girls are living their lives, running errands, and seeing to family. If you want to have girls visit you during the day you will have to meet them during the day. Places you can do that are casas, Plaza Botero, shopping centers, supermarkets, bars. You were in Plaza Botero but could not find girls. Follow the instructions another member gave you for Botero Plaza. Get away from the tourists and head to the white church (Veracruz). There are girls everywhere as you approach the church from any direction. They are in front of the church, along its side, and behind the church. 30 k to 40 k plus room cost of 10 k or so is what you have to pay. If these procedures don't work for you I recommend you try a different destination.

I have been flying to MDE now for 5+ years, and I can tell you without a doubt that Spirit sucks, but is great for MDE trips. If you are coming from the S.East USA, then fly Spirit through Miami or FLL. Outside of that, both American does direct flights and Delta does a flight that connects through Bogota. I will usually fly 1st class. / Delta 1 and prices are creeping up. It used to be $600 ish and now D1 is creeping up to $1200 or more. Plan ahead, and look forward to a good sex trip. At any given point, I like to have 4-5 trips ahead planned so I can manage my personal and work life around my mongering life. If you don't know about "Scotts Cheap Flights" which is now called "Going", I suggest you sign up. I have booked tickets almost a year in advance with this service and mongered now in 20+ countries flying in first class on the cheap cost with their help.
So I was going to be that guy and re-post that long quality post again that YyzTravel put up a few pages back because to be honest it still reaIly deserves honorable mention BUT what I want to ask is could you tell the story of how you wounded up being around 23 females and you. A typical working girl in Medellin wakes up at 1 PM so an afternoon date can be a hit or miss. So knowing them helps. I repeat a lot. Only 20% or even less are new girls. When I was a younger man, I would be okay with this but I find as I get older, I prefer to sleep at a not so late hour and get up earlier in the mornings to start my days. You can read 100 books on riding a bike, or you can spend 2-3 hours and learn to do it better. I'm wishing you the best of luck, but what you are describing is literally what every guy here wants to do. They talk about, and then nothing ever comes of it. After doing this now 15+ years, I can tell you out of every 10 guys on this forum talking big dreams, on average less than 1 really go and do it.
Most of your questions can be answered in a single trip to MDE. You are planning a whole lot. Go back 200 pages and read every single post. Take notes, make a map, make a plan and go do it. Don't talk like most of the guys here. Just go do it. Show up in MDE when I'm there and I will show you everything you asked for and more, but until then, I'm going to say. Put your toe in the water before you plan on jumping into the deep end.

I have recently been relocated back to the American continent thanks to Brandon and his idiotic politics, and thus, I am within range of Columbia. I have decided to go to Medellin in May, but I have never been to this beautiful city and don't know the lay of the land yet.

Therefore, I know that I like this type of cake a lot, but my old pals either got married or are halfway around the world. (yes, I am looking at you "retired" in Thailand lads). Traitors smh.
Thus, I have come to humbly request your advice, companionship, and wisdom. I don't mind the lone wolf game, but I always had more fun with friends and made some amazing life long friends through these kinds of shenanigans over the years.

1. Why are hotels preferred over Airbnbs? Security is not really an issue for me, but do hosts not let you bring chicas over, or what is the deal here? Can they be convinced to let you live a little? Please expend on this.
Through research, I found out that Airbnbs are much more economical (plus you live in a local neighborhood not a hotel), and I don't really care about breakfast or their security guard. This would allow me to allocate more budget to fun than waste on fancy hotels. I am budgeting around 350 per diam for fun. Please provide your input here; all advice is welcome.
2. If Hotels are really your preferred method, then please provide your favorites. (I do have a list going, but I would love to cross-reference just in case I am missing good ones.).
3. I have a list of casas and clubs from this forum research, but if you do not mind, tell me your favorites; ones that are worth visiting.
4. Anything else I should know? Feel free to share your wisdom.

Jay.I would recommend the Royal Du Parc Hotel. Will get a nice standard room for that price, which includes a good breakfast buffet. The other great feature which gives me peace of mind is their security. They make sure that your guest has proper ID, will make a copy of it, and will not allow her to leave the hotel until they call your room and verify you are okay. The hotel is very close to Parque LLeras which makes it convenient to pull girls from that area and take them back via a short 2 block walk. It is best to contact the hotel directly rather than go through online sites and you will get a better rate. This is where I mainly stay when I am there. Here is the link:

The next best option for me is The Haven hotel. For 100 dollars you will get a smaller but more modern looking room. The hotel is about 7 blocks from Parque Lleras. The security is not as good and the girls will be asked to produce identification but are not stopped on the way out to call you first. Book with the hotel directly for best rates.

Another good option in your price range is The Art Hotel which is also a couple of blocks from Parque Lleras. Rooms are modern and industrial, well priced, but lack a view. Rooms here can be found online via hotel aggregate sites like Agoda, Hotels Combined, Booking, etc.

Any one know of a nice hotel in El Poblado that is guest friendly (Looking for one in the $100 range)..Estelar Blue and Estelar Apartamentos. They check ID. 1. Why are hotels preferred over Airbnbs? Security is not really an issue for me, but do hosts not let you bring chicas over, or what is the deal here? Can they be convinced to let you live a little? Please expend on this. Some airbnbs limit guests or have policies that require you to contact the host each time you have a guest for approval. I went to the park area about 9 pm Thursday. I had to show my ID to get inside the barriers. I took some food to two of my friends who were working in the bars. Haven't been there in a long time. Is that what it cost to leave with them or is that what it cost with the room there. Spent 3 days and had a combination of old contacts and new ones. I was there from Mon-Thurs and although there's a heavy police presence in Parque Lleras area there's still plenty action and choices available in the park, bars and Calle 10 in particular. In short, I told my girls I rented the giant luxury property in the middle of the lake in Guatape, and I arranged for Xandu (the eletronica DJ) for the weekend. I remember over the past years thinking that there is a real shortage of nice places to stay for individuals at reasonable rates in MDE. Unless you like to stay in a cell-like apartment on the 20th floor of a non-descript tower block with no access to the outside world. I liked Dann Carlton best for short stays, but they pushed up their rates a lot over the years. I wouldn't blow so much money on a long stay there. Rooms are ok but the pool area is fantastic. There is a cheap hotel on Pqe Poblado that I like bcos its only 3 or 4 storeys and one has dozens of places to eat and drink on your doorstep. Its called Tik hotel these days. Both charge a small amount extra for booking in as 2 guests instead of one. Think of it as an extra breakfast fee if you like. But I don't stay in Poblado these days. I find it very fake and full of wannabees.
Airbnb. Is a money making racket for its shareholders. Imagine every booking in the world paying a 15% to some shareholder half way across the world for. For what? Nothing actually. It should be a crime. And they encourage landlords to subscribe in to their system of forever increasing prices when city occupancy is high. But if you want to use it to get a high rise cell box at an over inflated price, select the option for 'I want the entire unit', otherwise you will be sharing your hookers with other flatmates.

J.First of all, the only reason to use currency exchange is if you're trying to hide the transaction from somebody back home. Or in the unlikely possibility that one does not have an ATM card. Short of that, it is silly to do currency exchange. ATM always gives you the best rates. But, If you have to, do it in the city and not at the airport. currency exchange rate at the airport is terrible. If you need money for the taxi, BanColombia has ATM machines right at the airport and they're safe to use. Alternatively, just pay the taxi with dollars. Just pay the taxi $30. Consider it few bucks tip to the hard-working man who's driving you at midnight.

Hotel reserved for two people does not mean you and a different girl every day. It does mean you can register one girl as the second person and she can come and go. That works if you have a girlfriend situation. Otherwise, as guys have said, the guest policy varies among the hotels. Hotels are upfront about their policy so you just need to contact the hotel and ask about their guests policy and they will tell you. Some hotel will say no guests, some will say guests for an extra fee, and some will say one guest per day until a certain time and then no guests. If you go through the thread, there are a few posts about hotels that are guest friendly like the Dix and the Haven.

On either my first or second trip to Colombia back in 2018 in Bogota I tried to tip the maid 5 mil because she showed me to my room and made sure I had a clean towel and roll of toilet paper.
I said gracias and handed her a 5 mil bill and she got mad at me. She put her hand up and refused to take it and she was like "they pay me here" I kinda got the impression that she thought that I thought that she was poor and was offering her the 5 mil to make up for what she should be getting paid.
Since then I have stayed there mainly times over the years and Doña Gloria always greets me with a hug every time I see her but I never ever have offered her a tip since that first time and I don't offer tips anywhere else I go either because of that experience. And when people ask for tips I frown on it like they are over-entitled and I treat them the same way as girls asking for free money I'm like "soy pobre".

Its pretty obvious about the places that will ask for it or automatically add it. Vs the places that don't. I spend most of my time in non gringo areas with Colombians half the time.

So I am trying to be specific with my response. Of the probably 300+ meals at restaurants that have either asked or not asked. The tip was 10%. Never less. Never more. And with both situations, I am never deciding the amount on the bill. It's simply 10%. It's not like the united states. From my experience, having been out for lunch everyday with my Latin America coworkers, they always declined the service charge when asked, and in that LA country where I worked, they always asked before, and I was the only one that said yes simply because I can't change the habit.
This city has changed for the worst. Last year at MDE, a worker roped the luggage cart together, and wanted to charge USD$3 for the luggage cart. Who is going to pay that as it is such a small airport where very little walking needed. Now they change it to a sign asking for 5 mil. In other much larger airports that I have been to, they are all free.

Normally, I paid a flat fee 50 mil for transportation which I have written about. My term is 50 mil even if they take metro, and I offered to pick them up from metro station on top of the 50 mil. If you were riding the metro and they tried to charge you double of what it costs then I am sure you would not say I came all the way here so them charging me 25 cent more is nothing to argue about. The videos have who I believe is the director of immigration talking about measures against underage trafficking, but the images mention "sex tourism" as a reason to not he admitted into the country. Even "not looking like a typical tourist" is a reason.

I don't think Colombia Immigration has ever asked me any questions. I do get asked the purpose of my visit when I return to America and I always say that line and then they move on.

Parque Lleras caters to gringos, so you'll find gringo prices. If you don't want gringo prices go where the gringos don't go. Of course you'll give up the convenience of being around English speaking people and your perceived security will almost certainly be lower.
Went to La Isla as my 1st night out in MDE, so I can't directly compare to other MDE spots.
Pros: It's familiar and simple to navigate. You get your Miami strip club style set up, so if you do stripclubs in US you should know the flow and routine well. If you want familiarity, you'll see plenty of Americans diverse. White bros, hood dudes, Middle East brahs, Asians. It's also a brothel, if you want to fuck you're only $$ away which guys value an easy controlled layup.
-Talent was fair but I was not floored. Pound for Pound I felt like Dolce Vita had higher percentage of hot girls, and the big Santa Clubs as a whole had more stunners. There were maybe 20% of the girls I thougt were bad as hell. There was a variety of ages and body types, natural vs enhanced.
Cons: It is an American experience, if you didn't want to feel like USA then don't go here. Plenty of lowest common denominator bros I try to avoid back home. Not wrong with enjoying themselves, but I prefer more intimate environments (ie girl at my place). Girls were sharkish, aggressive pushing for 2 K peso tips every 10 seconds of dance and cutting off the moment tips stop. I don't like you're not supposed to nab the girls you want, have to let them float. Which means the top girls may be snatched up a while. I think my 1 liter Absolut for table was like $150 plus fees, I forgot cover charges cost. I remember hearing an absurd quote for a room. To me to pay a premium and gamble that's good, to gamble she'll meet you later and gamble she's good in private is a lot. I take my chances with recommended girls or do Instagram girls (I feel like the ones with public visibility, making their locations known, regular posting, in the 5-15 K follower sweet spot).
I still recommend La Isla just to do it and get the temptation out. If you're seasoned in strip clubs you'll do fine, if you need a controlled environment for girls (with upsell) it's also fine, Gringo friendly even with no Spanish (but no reason not to try to learn).
-As for me, I won't be going back. Too similar to Miami, ATL with the customers and prices. Got a small but strong foothold of initial connections that I think "unlocks" a better exp in MDE.

If you want a less risky country, you should go to Thailand where you don't have to worry about crime or a crackdown. There are a number of different countries that are safer. I know guys who won't come to Colombia because of these fears and I don't try to talk them into coming here at all. But if you are willing to take the risks, there are young attractive girls who will entertain you and you will probably have a good time (if you're not drugged and robbed).

City Hall is engaged in a big public relations campaign. There is nothing unusual about this in Medellin politics. Kiddie fiddlers are the recent hot topic and that is not so common although I can remember it flaring up in the headlines every three or four years or so. I was out of town for the weekend so I had a chance to see what's happening in immigration. I caught a break and arrived with only one other flight in the immigration hall. I noticed no difference in the immigration officer's procedures. There has always been anti pedo posters in the immigration hall. The only difference I noticed is there is now a wall sized poster of the same announcement that has been on bus stops and billboards around town the past couple of weeks. It's a picture of a guy walking with a woman amongst the statues in Botero Plaza with text that basically says "it's illegal, don't even think about it. " The immigration hall poster is the size of the entire wall. It is so big that you can't see it from the foreigner's line. You can see it from the Colombians' line. I think smaller posters on stands where the immigration line changes direction would get the message to visitors more effectively. I don't think that is the primary goal of the campaign. Just like the day the mayor showed up with a group of reporters and assistants to hand pamphlets to people on line, it's all about promoting an image of action.
I fly in and out of Colombia every month, I have not had any questions other than the norm.

It also seems to me that a lot of folks are obsessed with "winning" any exchange. They have to pay bare-bottom prices so they can feel like they got back at the "vapid women" who shun them in real life. They have to be the ones who are on the forum talking about how they get 10/10, amateur, chicas who totally love them for cheap / free. Everybody needs to find balance between being "that" guy and being some poor sap who is getting roped along by chicas and dropping tons of money for sub-par service.Reality is that there are different price structures that exist out there for locals and foreigners in many countries for things like transit fares. Even mongering in brothels in Singapore openly state that locals pay cheaper rates than foreigners. That's just the way it is.
As for price negotiating with the ladies, I do agree that even if we are to be successful in low balling them, we could very well end up with crappy service. So we do have to find a fine line. On the other end, I for one don't believe in paying top rates if the ladies are asking for them when the numbers start to move towards what I can get in my home region where there is a thriving pay for play scene that exists already. Why should I pay at the same rates or even higher than what I can get at home for good talent?
So in my case, maximums of what I'm willing to pay when I arrive in Colombia might very well be a bit different compared to other tourists just because of where I'm from. This will be especially the case between those of us coming from Canada (especially Toronto and Montreal) compared to our friends from the USA. That's why we end up seeing many of our American friends especially from the northeastern states come up to Toronto and Montreal to monger.
These forums are helpful in trying to find what the middle grounds might be down in Colombia.

15 mil for a cab is not price gauging. It is on the low end. Arguing or complaining over cab fare of 7. 5 mil (which is not easily found) is ridiculous and using an example of going to McDonalds is idiotic.

I'll never understand why the line in Exito always take forever to check out people. Everytime I go, even with people 2 or 3 items in their hand will sometimes takes 30 minutes to check them out. I noticed it takes longer when those people used their "puntos". The cashier looks it up on the computer which take about 10 minutes and additional 1-2 minutes to print the receipt. You will never see that in US LOL.
Now before you bash me, since this forum has so much negativity LOL, I'm not complaining at all. Even waiting on the line for that long, I get to see beautiful paisas, who's most of them on their gym clothes after working out or pre-work out buying groceries. Just had this paisa girl right in front of me who's got a really nice toned body, great shaped ass, a well made tits, nips poking out on her bra, curvy waist and big hips. I can explain without bashing. There are two main reasons the lines move slowly than what gringos are accustomed to. One reason is technology (the lack thereof) and the other reason is culture. You hinted at the technology factor when you mentioned puntos. Exito does the same sort of market research based on collecting buying history from customers as other big retailers. The difference is Exito doesn't have up to date technology that enables customers to quickly swipe a loyalty card to identify themselves. Instead, cashiers have to manually key in the loyalty program number of every single customer both before (puntos) and after (movil Exito) they ring up the purchases. Some customers don't remember their punto or movil Exito numbers, so they have to give the cashier a phone number or cedula number to look it up. When customers redeem coupons or store credit receipts, the cashier has to stop the line and scan them one by one and sometimes call for a manager to complete the transaction. All this takes forever.
The culture factor is the one that is least likely to change anytime soon. Very quickly, the things that cause the line to move slowly that you don't see in developed countries are customers who leave their carts smack in the middle of the small space where people on line behind them need to pass to get their purchases on the checkout belt, people who use the checkout clerk as a price scanner to decide whether they can or want to buiy some or all of the items in their cart, people who decide they don't want some of the items or want different items who then leave the line to look for what they want while everyone else has to wait until they return so the cashier can complete the transaction, on top of all of that most customers will engage the cashier in small talk about the weather, current events, their physical ailments or whatever else that has nothing to do with buying groceries. This is especially true of older customers who sadly don't have much other human interaction. That last one about older people is something you also see with building doormen. The older building residents spend a lot of time socializing with the doormen because they are always available and can't ignore them.

Depends on the hour, location, etc. Some nice Exitos and Carullas even have self checkout machines.

What you describe is very true at some Exito's (I. E. La 70) But I use the exito at the central comercial Viva Laureles or at UniCentro and those Exito's have many more cashiers in place so you can pick a line that isn't going to take so long. Just an idea to consider.

The difference is Exito doesn't have up to date technology that enables customers to quickly swipe a loyalty card to identify themselves. Instead, cashiers have to manually key in the loyalty program number of every single customer both before (puntos) and after (movil Exito) they ring up the purchases. Some customers don't remember their punto or movil Exito numbers, so they have to give the cashier a phone number or cedula number to look it up. When customers redeem coupons or store credit receipts, the cashier has to stop the line and scan them one by one and sometimes call for a manager to complete the transaction. All this takes forever.
The culture factor is the one that is least likely to change anytime soon. Very quickly, the things that cause the line to move slowly that you don't see in developed countries are customers who leave their carts smack in the middle of the small space where people on line behind them need to pass to get their purchases on the checkout belt, people who use the checkout clerk as a price scanner to decide whether they can or want to buiy some or all of the items in their cart, people who decide they don't want some of the items or want different items who then leave the line to look for what they want while everyone else has to wait until they return so the cashier can complete the transaction, on top of all of that most customers will engage the cashier in small talk about the weather, current events, their physical ailments or whatever else that has nothing to do with buying groceries. This is especially true of older customers who sadly don't have much other human interaction. That last one about older people is something you also see with building doormen. The older building residents spend a lot of time socializing with the doormen because they are always available and can't ignore them.Two items:

Self checkout is my jam! I love it because it is very unpopular with Colombians so you can usually get to one without having to wait.
Depends on the hour, location, etc. Some nice Exitos and Carullas even have self checkout machines.

Wanted to share my perspective on medellin travel in last 6 years. First trip was amazing as it was like a kid in the toy store. Made few friends on facebook and by the time it is my 9th or 10th trip I became more hardened. Medellin in general it is easy to pick up grils. I have seen the prices at 150 k cop to now averaged at 300-400 k. I don't go for normal average lot so its usually a little expensive for me.
Couple of girls became my favorites. Oddly one is a 30 year old with a 10 year old daughter but she is a fine and classy lady. One of my friends introduced her to me 4 years ago. I spend over nights with her and last time when I was there she showed me a picture of her friend who is a model material and works as a hair stylist. I did a threesome with them both before I left to airport the next day (they dropped me at the airport). It was hell of a night. In all my trips that was a best threesome so far in 6 years. I have pictures of them but I can't share because of the privacy requested by the girls. Again I am not saying they are not pros. One of them is for sure a pro and she is in the game for a while, but the other one I am not sure. She did not look like a pro by the way she responded during the session (she came thrice that night and I don't think she was faking. There was no need).

My advice to new guys is to work through your initial contacts and find the girls they know. Tell them you are discrete and you will not advertise their company. You will gather some contacts over time.

First time in MDE was a complete success. Despite some valid forum complaints I had an awesome time but maybe I'm naive since I never experienced pre-covid, 2010's.

3 days. Stayed in Sabaneta, found a chill Airbnb. While it was far from the action, price was at least half of equiv places in Poblado. But since in non tourist zone, no issue having 5 different girls without hassle or fees. But not walkable accept to Mallorca mall. BTW, malls are amazing in terms of civvy talent. A random afternoon you'll see a beautiful paisa every 3 minutes. Long term visitors who are fluent, malls are the spot for normal girls.

I may deservedly get roasted for the 500 K girl but she's an all natural big rack thick leg Ana de Armas face with her own legit money / career, low scope risk as she has way richer clients than me, vouched for by a friend, and is a Madam herself. Plus extremely communicative with logistics, short trip so I valued reliability. I gave him 150 mil including a tip plus bought him food with every run. Some round trips were 30 min legs as well as airport. If it's 2 or less round trips a day I'd say just do Uber. More than that your Airbnb driver is convenient.

As for the $500 K rate, my humble opinion is that it is hovering at the rate where you can get Colombian girls in Costa Rica, Panama City, St Maarten and yes, even up in Toronto possibly without having to struggle so much in Spanish. In my experience with Latino girls in both Toronto and Costa Rica, they already speak at least some broken English by the time they are working up there. It was suggested by many past veterans who travelled to Colombia that instead of paying inflated prices up north to session with Colombian chicas, it's better to travel down to the source where the rates were much lower. But at $500 K, I don't see the advantage of the travel costs anymore as I could have stayed in safer countries. But of course in Colombia, we have wider options like the casas.
