Mr. E's prior report reminded me of an experience several years ago in Lima involving Craigs List. I had been to Lima few times at this point but stayed in hotels, which I considered over priced and not very private.

For this visit, I decided to look for a one week rental with Craigs List and found a one bedroom apartment in a new building in Miraflores. I arranged the rental through the owner and only had her name and limited correspondence with her before my arrival. The plan was to pay for the unit upon the following morning after my arrival. I arrived in the late evening on Friday with enough time to go to Tequila Rocks and find a date for the night and she left before the owner came by for the rent. I frankly was expecting an older lady -- you know the type -- middle aged, Peru style thick rimmed glasses, frumpy, and unattractive. Instead a gorgeous girl appeared at my door and sat down with me to chat about Lima.

I was meeting a friend at a nearby coffee shop on Balta and she offered to show me a short cut. However, my friend was not at the shop (a lucky break). She mentioned that she was carrying the rent money for several units, as she was a property manager, and needed to make a deposit. I volunteered to accompany her and off we went.

After making the deposit, I suggested a late lunch at Punta Sal, a popular fish restaurant overlooking the Pacific and the Malecon in Miraflores. We had a nice lunch and several glasses of wine and I made an excuse about going back to the apartment. When we returned, I mentioned that I had nothing to drink and suggested going to the market to pick up some wine while she waited in her apartment. She readily agreed and it was at this moment, I realized that I had a real shot with this chica.

Did you live there and that is the reason you left?

Curious to know.I never "lived" there except on my last ten or so visits there I rented a flat in Miralofres. Renting makes you feel lile you live there much more than staying in a hotel. I 've contemplated retiring in Lima (on a "rentista visa") but the rising cost of living and the decreasing mongering climate are reasons not too. Earthquakes are another good reason since renting a seismically secured place would render accomodation prohibitive. I'll have to die some day but I don't want to die crushed between slabs of concrete. I've studied earthquakes at some scientific depth and they're something you can't stop being scared off by studying/understanding them. Quite the reverse. You can stop being scared of AIDS the more you know about the disease but earthquakes are different. The indiscriminate and geotechnically naive building of high-rises going on now in Lima is downright criminal. The contractors/planners should be the ones going to jail, not the pimps.

Now it's $3. 50 NS, a whopping 30% devaluation. Then, it was more expensive than I anticipated, especially Miraflores and other upscale neighborhoods. I wonder if this devaluation and related decline in mineral commodity exports has resulted in a decrease in apartment rentals and other mongering costs in Peru? What's a decent one bedroom going for in MF these days?

Of course, the personal safety issues, particularly outside of the expensive areas, was always a concern. After living in Asia, I can vouch that personal safety issues are much greater in Peru and South America in general.

Thanks. I would say the average cost of a decent one bedroom in Bangkok near the main entertainment area and the Sky train is about $800 to $1000 per month when converted from baht to USD so basically about the same. I found a new place recently for $700 plus utilizes but it's a bit of a one off.

Arrived in Lima today from Arequipa via avianca air. Maybe less efficient than LAN but cheaper for gringos buying outside of Peru. Double booked my seat. Upgraded me to first class minus the meal. Tacky.

Last night a guide from Arequipa was going to take me to a place called tequila. Mentioned they had many Colombians and Brazilians. Rate is 100 to 150 soles per hour. Also said la acromar is decent and open. Unfortunately we both got too hammered from our day tour which included a visit to two pisco distilleries and cervezas.

During the morning, visited the Indian market in miracles. While wandering around, I ran into a slim hottie selling jewelry at a stall. Inquired about pricing for a silver souvenir spoon. I forgot about the TR location on La Marina. This club is not reputed to be P4 P but populated with local chicas. On the way from the airport, you will see this TR on your left hand side. I have heard varying stories about this place through the years but it survives year after year.

I've read a lot about the whole David business, and it seems that much of the fun had by forum members was had with girls he supplied.

Living in the UK where prostitution is legal, I can have an Eastern European for an hour for around $100 very easily, so much as I like South American girls, I don't see the attraction of clubs people have gone to where they've paid upwards of $100. I also have no interest in paying pennies to a SW for a low rent experience I'll likely regret.

I guess what I'm looking for is good quality but good value punting. I'd like to get a South American hottie in a jacuzzi for a couple hours, or an oily massage with all the trimmings for a few dollars, or an English speaking girl who I can take out to dinner and then to my hotel room for a few hours, without spending much. Am I going to the right place?

The damage he has done to Lima as a mongering destination is deep and wide and will persist for years. That is great for people you know how to do their research and find great companions at resonable prices. To register with the municipality, the women must be in Peru legally and must carry a health certificate. Despite attempts at regulating prostitution in Peru, the majority of prostitutes work informally and are not officially registered.

Pimping is against the law in Peru and is punishable by three to six years in prison. The pimping of a person under the age of 18 is punishable by five to 12 years in prison.

Some of you experienced Peru mongers please fill me in. Some very large ones (ie. Trocodero). However they are ALL aimed at the lower / middle class, charging a cheap entry fee and standard rate.

The places that get raided are nightclubs and high class saunas that are NOT licensed for prostitution. These girls / venues want to charge an exorbitant rate because they are not happy working for at the brothel rate (S. / 25 - 35 (troca) or S. / 50-60 (cucardas)).

You are much better off going to a working class brothel. It is legal as well as much much cheaper (ie. Calle Pizza / TR girls will ask $100+ S. / 300! - that's 10ST's at Trocadero).

I will be the first to admit it. I must have had my head up my ass. I have been coming to Lima for 10 years and I am just realizing that I really like this place. I have not been here in 11 months but will definitely come more frequently from now on.

When I arrived yesterday afternoon I went outside to flag down a taxi as I usually do. Well they finally got serious about not letting the taxis stop there (thanks to the overpriced airport taxi mafia no doubt). The driver told me that I would have to go outside to get a taxi. So I walked up to the airport exit to the street and turned right. The touts were all over me for a taxi. I told a guy I was going to Lince and he said 35 soles. (As a comparison, the taxi mafia charges at least 60 to go to the Lince/Miraflores are.) I said no way. He said 30 soles? I said nice try, guess again. Then he said 25 soles? Well of course. He got me into one of the taxis that line up and collected 5 soles from the driver and told him that I would be paying him 25 once we arrived in Lince. (I usually pay 20 going back to the airport.).

Now my favorite hotel is charging 100 soles for any day. I think before it was 80 on the weekdays and 100 on weekends. The lady at the desk said it changed a long time ago. I will stick with this place. I have another favorite that I switch to when I tell one non-pro I am leaving and another shows up, but the internet in that place has not been as realible.

Anyway. An hour or so ago, me and a chick who I have known for many years left the hotel and caught a taxi to my favorite Chinese restaurant in Surco. Just then is when it finally got through to me how nice this place is. It is clean and modern. You do not get the god awful stench that you do in Thailand and there is not all the clutter and dirtyness that you see in Philippines. For the most part, the people ride around in nice automobiles. You do not see the 25 mph death traps that you do in Dominican Republic. The food is out of sight and the women are pretty damn beautiful.

This place is definitely underrated. I have fucked off some quality women in this city over the years. I will defintely build my stable back up and start coming here more often. For my next visit I will look into renting one of those apartments in Miraflores for about a week and see how that turns out. Again, I am not doing any mongering, just with regular chicks that I have known for years. To me, if you speak Spanish, there is no reason to have to monger in Lima. As a matter of fact, it would probably prove to be a disservice to you.

I've never used an agency, but have tried Craigslist and have written it off. Badoo and Tagged can be fun, but also more work than it is worth in my opinion. If you need to score and have limited Spanish, go to Tequila Rocks in Miraflores. If you cannot score there, you need help Be picky, chat, buy a drink or two and pick someone you are attracted to and have some chemistry with. Unless you are totally desperate or are fugly, $100 USD will get it done, possibly all night if you wish and have secured your belongings in your hotel room or apartment. Sabor Peruano in Calle des Pizzas has civilians, semi-pros and pros, so you will need judgement and Spanish helps more there. Hope this helps a little.

Landed in Lima around midnight. Right after I checked into my hotel, I headed out to Las Cucardas by taxi. Saw some street walkers in el Centro along the way. 35 cover charge includes a condom. Walked around the two levels, chatted with some girls standing outside their own rooms. There is a stripper dancing on the first level by the bar. Overall the talent level is impressive. Most of these girls are foreigners, quite a few of them from Medellin. Thought I'd post notes from a recently completed trip, even though I only did the mongering part sort of halfheartedly and didn't break much new ground. Maybe there's a detail of use to someone.

Stayed in one of the hostels that had private rooms for $25 (tiny shared bath) in Miraflores for 4 nights. Not a great setting to bring anyone back (and I'm 98% sure they wouldn't allow), but the location was outstanding and the room pretty good for the cost. Other activities included a touristy thing or two around Miraflores, trying the food, and going downtown to rummage some of the collectibles places around Quilca Street. That last activity put me near plaza San Martin, so after getting s7. 50 pico sour or two at Roko's I took the taxi in search of El Trocadero.

Some of the taxis would hold out the "Callao" sign and were shared and at s10, if I remember correctly, which got me to Minka center (a big but not distinctive looking mall). I figured the taxis from there would be more knowledgeable anyway and I speak Spanish based on 5 years of study 35 years ago and not much practice, so I knew enough to make mistakes not available to the average visitor.

The guy looked like he was practically taking me to the port when I decided we had to be on the wrong track. I repeated "El Trocadero" several times and said it was acerca de Minka (close to, not far). Finally something clicked and he took me down this busy and dusty side road through a desolate looking area to a lot and busy drop-off area. "Oh, El Troc!" he said...I guess that that's what locals asked for and what he understood. After some arguing I gave him s13 for the trouble even though the ride probably should have been more like s5-10.

This was around 6:30 pm On a Wednesday evening, by the way. It was s10 to get in, as mentioned. I started walking around. Someone mentioned John Waters. Well, most of the girls could have auditioned for one of his female characters, as the "before" of Rosie O'Donnell would be cute by comparison. The place was sprawling, but looked like it could have been a cellblock except they keep the prisons cleaner. Am glad I got to see it but won't be heading back.

Got a taxi to head back toward downtown and Las Cucardas. Admission is s35 including a coupon for a free drink (though it's only good at the downstairs bar, not the upstairs (and a Cuba libre is the only stated firewater choice (or gaseosas (soft drinks)). They're VERY security conscious and pat down everyone and want you to check everything, notably cellphones but also other stuff. I had a pen in my pocket and they wanted that to go with my checked stuff. The manager was good natured about all of it, though.

The difference in girl quality was immediately noticeable, with about 85% I'd consider doable and some real stunners. A favorite from the last trip was able to rock a Brazilian bikini, which few girls could pull of. Most weren't quite at that level but could wear swimwear tops or skimpy outfits to show off assets.

Standard rate is s80 and most girls collect in advance. Rooms have bidets and you get the Nevada-style washing of the important parts, often self-serve. I always being my own raincoats from the USA And haven't had a problem with that. There's no official time limit, but you have to try to get a sense for attitude and it's better to go in less-busy times to get a longer course of service. You can also tip, though I was unsure of protocols there and didn't want to ruin the market.

Once again without asking nationality in advance I picked one from Ecuador with the waist-long black hair and nice shape. I guess I need to go to that country (porn star Zoey Kush is from there. This time I chose initially too much based on looks and did so on the first pass, and I got another one from Ecuador who was about a 7. 5 but either did the session too quickly, was too loose down there or both. Almost happened but not quite, and she wasn't as patient as the girl from the night before (who I'd looked for but wasn't there). So I took a rest break in the bar and the comfy seats, bought a Cusquena at s15 (cocktail prices look steep but beer is semi-reasonable) and relaxed a bit. Night #3 (Friday) was my last before moving on to Chile. Crowds were NOTICEABLY larger even by 7 pm And I could see supply-demand would be a problem. Last time I was at Anaconda, it really pissed me off that they knock on your door after 10-12 minutes. Don't know if that's changed. Also I often found same girls that I would bang at Troca were at Anaconda with higher price. At least at Troca they didn't bug you for time. As far as the clubs in Independencia and outer boros, its a bit risky if you don't know the area. I would not advise anyone to go there unless in a large group or with someone who lives there. Crime is rampant in Lima especially late at night.

First off, this trip I decided to mix the trip with mongering, meeting up with civvies, and meeting up with my semi-pros from my past visits. It was also a total immersion trip. It was Spanish every damn day. I did not talk to anyone that spoke English, and I was quite happy with the amount that I learned during my stay.

Logistics:

Flight:

I flew AA round trip from San Diego for $1275 and some change. 3 hours to Dallas and another 6. 5 to Lima.

Logging:

Again, I rented the same 3-bedroom penthouse apartment in a great location, on Malecon Balta, in Miraflores. I rented through Airbnb. It was 3 blocks from Wong, and another block to Parque Kennedy. It was off season and the apartment was only 105 bucks each night. There was 24 hour security and I had no problems bringing different women into the place. Whenever I returned to the apartment, I always bought some food for the security dudes; they took great care of me!

Money:

The currency in Peru is Sol. The rate was about 1 US dollar to 3. 20 soles. Whatever the amount was in soles, just divide by 3 for US dollars. I used the ATM at the airport to have cash on hand. The following day, I cashed in a bunch of dollars at the Interbank close to my place. The bills were all different colors and I did not have any problems figuring out the exchange rate. The coins were a tad confusing because of the sizes. For example, the 2 and 5 coins are smaller than the 1 sole coin. There were many places that did not accept Master Card, but Visa cards were accepted everywhere.

Duty Free:

There is a Duty Free at the airport in Lima. I was told I could bring in 4 bottles of alcohol, thus; I bought 4 bottles. BTW, the girls seem to love Baileys; so stock up!

Communication:

I was turned on to the T-Mobile North American plan, thanks to Mr. Enternational for 55 bucks a month. When I was in Spain and Peru, my plan gave me unlimited data at 2 G speed, calls at 20 cents per minute, and free texts. Thus, I started using WhatsApp on my regular phone. I started chatting with my Airbnb host before I left. As long as I had a WiFi signal, WhatsApp was free of charge. I was chatting on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Skype; including video calls for no charge whatsoever.

Transportation:

From the airport and back, I used Taxidatum; each trip was $20. Green taxi is a plenty at the airport and they are a tad cheaper, if that is important to you. Taxis were dirt cheap in Lima. 5 to 10 soles can get you pretty much anywhere, including San Isidro, Lince, and Barranco. I used all types of cabs and never had any issues.

My new driver:

I met a taxi driver named Jesus and we worked out a deal for 20 soles per hour. I used his service on 3 different occasions. We were in constant contact using WhatsApp during my trip. BTW, he does speak some English. Send me a PM if you are interested in using his servces.

Spanish school:

I returned to the Spanish school Peruwayna. I took classes from 4-6 pm, Monday through Friday, for two weeks. I paid for 20 classes, which came out to be just over 10 US per hour. My maestro was great! Peruwayna also took my Visa card for the payment. Each day, I bought churros for the teachers and staff; simple gestures go a long way.

Miraflores:

What a great district! The place has a great vibe, from the streets, to Locomar, to Parque Kennedy. It was one of the safest cities I have been to in a while. But in August, there was very little sun to be found. The temperature ranged from 60 to 65 degrees, which seems nice, but the humidity was very high, so it felt a lot colder. I only needed a light jacket.

Food & Drinks:

The food was incredible! My favorite dishes were Ali de Gallina, Lomo Saltado, Rocoto Relleno, and all the dishes at Panchita! My favorite drink was the Pisco Sour! I had at least a couple hundred of those damn things; the drink has a serious kick to it! The locals seem to love Inca Kola & Chicha Morada.

I ate and drank at a butt-load of restaurants:

Haiti.
La Bonbonniere.
Manolo. Snacks and buying churros for the teaching staff at my school.
La Lucha Sangucheria. My new go to lunch spot; great fucking sandwiches.
Don Belisario. Pollo a la Brasa.
El Cascajal (twice) - buffet and local show.
Rustica in Barrarco. Buffet and band.
Panchita. My new favorite restaurant in the world!

Every meal I had was either great or pretty damn good!

The Women:

Because the trip was to focus on Spanish, I contacted several women on Latin American Cupid and Facebook. The ones I contacted had no English speaking skills. This does take time and a lot of effort. I also met with previous women from my past couple trips. I Skyped with a few of them before I arrived in Lima.

Take note: do not contact the women too early on those sites before your trip; they lose interests after 2 to 3 weeks. I learned this the hard way last year.

Monger Venues:

I was determined to gather as much information as possible this trip. I gave it my best shot, but failed miserably on one Saturday!

In each bar / club, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. As each night went on, the more I drank. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to correct me. All the prices are in soles.

I always drink screwdrivers when I travel, and always with the house vodka; Smirnoff. However, most of the clubs used Absolute.

Ficha cost: 60.

Saturday, the afternoon and evening of SHAME!

I hired Jesus for the late afternoon and evening to explore the bar / clubs in Centro and others to the north, which included the LOS Olivos and Independencia areas. We started out about 5:00 and headed to El Centro first. Jesus warned us before we whet there that all the strip bars in Central were closed a few years ago, but we went anyway.

We had the addresses and map of all the places, and each one we found, was indeed closed with a large Closure sign on the place. After about seeing 3-4 of these places, I gave the fuck up!

The bars / clubs:

Naomi.
Climax.
Oasis.
Flamingo.
La Rumba.
Palmeras.
El Safari.

Then we headed north, first to the LOS Olivos area. The first stop was around 7:00, the club was the one the furthest north, called Scarlets; closed!

We then headed to look for Anaconda, it was open, but too early. When we walked in, there were 5-6 guys waiting for girls to show up for work. And there were only two girls in the club.

Club: Anaconda.
Cover charge:10.
Beer: 10.
Ficha cost: 10.
Sex with one of the girls: 70 for 30 minutes.

We then headed south to the Independencia area. That whole area has a lot of people and was confusing to say the least! We first looked for Miami Bar Show and Carmine on Calle Carlo Alberto Izaquirre; the clubs didn't exist.

Then we drove down Calle see looking for Sky Blue, Rica Miel, VIP Patron, and Mangos. I saw Rica Miel, but it seemed to be only a disco. We could not find the others. The streets in that area were packed with people, and like I mentioned before, confusing as well.

We also looked for El Harem, Private, and Bohemia; once again, no luck. We then headed south to look for the other Scarlet; we could not find the place! At that point, I was completely frustrated and threw in the largest fucking towel ever! We headed back to Miraflores.

Other venues:

Tequila Rocks (Miraflores):

I went there at least twice, once on a Friday night, the other on a Saturday night, about 12:30 each night. The entrance fee was 40 soles; included one drink. I have to admit, there were a bunch of hooties in the club each night. I interviewed at least 6 of them for the cost for 1-2 hours in my apartment. They quoted me 400 to 500 soles. I did not negotiate because I already had my fill, but I asked to provide information on this board.

The Old Pub: Calle Pizza.

I was in this place almost every night. There were at least 1-3 working girls in the place every night, 4-8 on Friday / Saturday night. I asked a few girls what they were charging for 2-3 hours, they all started at 400 soles. One older chunky one quoted me 300 soles. The more older and chunkier they were, the less soles they wanted; I liked that.

Street Girls:

Besides the street girls on Calle Pizza, they are also working on Calle Diagonal. I found one that asked for 150, but accepted 100. The room was at a nearby hostel, it cost 60.

I was approached by street girls in that area almost every night of the week. The hotties wanted 300, and the average to above average lookers asked for 100/150/200/250. One night I had two girls stop me and wanted a three-some for 100 each; but I was already worn out to accept the offer.

Conclusion:

I really like Lima. The people are friendly and the food is great! Miraflores is a wonderful district and I will return again next year. Personally, I think the young women in Peru are beautiful; but the older ones didn't seem to age very well.

As far as monger venues; it has enough to keep any monger busy during their stay. But, go one step further, getting a regular girl is quite easy. Hell, if an old overweight bastard like me can do it; anybody can!

He informed me there were two ATM transactions in Lima using my debit card. One transaction went through for over $200, but the next transaction was denied.

I'm very careful when I use any ATM in any country, thus, I asked how could something like this happen. He told me about Card Skimming:

"Skimmers are devices added to ATM machines to capture your card's information, including your account number, balance, and PIN number. These devices, often mounted alongside a machine and labeled 'card cleaners,' are difficult to notice unless you're looking for them.

You may also find card skimmers mounted beside the normal ATM card slot with a sign that says, "slide card here first. " Sometimes they are even mounted right on top of where you would normally enter your card. Skimmers can actually collect and store up to 200 ATM cards before they need to be removed by thieves. ".

Lucky for me, the bank reimbursed my funds during the fraud investigation. The bank agent also told me this happens quite often and to be even more careful when I use my ATM card.

You can also Google "ATM skimmer" and see tons of articles. In Miraflores, I used almost exclusively the Scotiabank ATM on Larco or the BCP on Larco. Both are near Calle Schell and I never had problems with either during 11 months of withdrawals over 2 years. I find using ATMs in banks that are high volume are pretty decent habits to reduce the risk. During the day in Miraflores, both of those ATMs also had security guards close by, which also helps. Nothing is ever 100% safe and seasoned travelers often get fooled as well.

I arrived in Lima a few days ago, I had prepared some contacts (quite a few) using both Adult Friend Finder, badoo and seeking arrangements.

I agree about the food. They bring fresh fish EVERY day from the fish market so no substitutions, no Vietnamese frozen crap as in others with less turnover.

In regards to the pros in the corner of Larco and San Martin, it could have been an isolated day. There is only one pro about once a week that's all, but the is "Cubatas" a small hole where some Colombians hang around.

Greetings to everybody. Just returned back home from Peru. Here are few observations I would like to share.

I visited Cucardas at some workday, not Friday. It started to wrok at 3 pm I came at 3.15 maybe. Second floor was closed. First floor (the rooms with girls) worked maybe on 80%, only 4-5 rooms were closed completely. There are pros and cons in coming at that time. Some ladies are agitating you to pick them and are open for negotiation. Standard price was 80 soles for 20 minutes. But with one girl I negotiated for 30 minutes (was no necessity, just for interest if possible to push). Also, most attractive girls, usually with artificial breasts, they work very mechanically, acting like dolls. I know its very private, some people need some kind of contact for ignition. I used to ask for "massage". If girl says no, that usually means she is lazy. The one which agreed to make massage, I had the best experience with her in Cucardas. She was from selva (jungle) region of Peru, name Khali. Also most of girls not allow kisses even to body, even breasts (maybe I was so unlucky). So if it is important for you, better to clarify such things before accepting the deal.

Also there are saunas in Lima, where you can bed with girl too. I was in sauna, but ordered massage only. The one I was in is called Venice's, its in Barranco if I remember correct. 40's for sauna, 40 for massage, girls were for 150 for an hour if I remember correct. They all were with huge unnatural boobs. They charge you in final when you leave the sauna, you can pay with card.

I drank it once in a bar, but I think possible to buy a bottle as well. If you are going for somehow long term I recommend you to try couch surfing or another network which allows you to establish communication with locals. That helped me personally a lot with finding some stuff I needed.

What is the entrance fee to Las Cucardas these days? I haven't seen it mentioned in the last several posts about the venue.It was 38 soles. That gives you one free drink. Barmen told me I have to choose between Cuba Libre and something else I didn't recognize (I don't speak Spanish at all) (was 2 options in total to choose from).

All drinks at bar are 45-50 soles for cocktails and shots. Only beer is 20-30 soles.

Arrived at the airport in Lima and went outside to get a taxi. A guy stopped me and I told the dude I was going to Lince and he said 45 soles. I laughed and kept walking. He said 35 soles. Thanks.Try Mirtos Hotel, don't ask for a refrigerator (they'll tell you they don't have) but make sure your room has a mini bar (all their high priced rooms there have one) which is no other than a small refrigerator. Last time I stayed there, such a room was S. 200.00 and they are very girl-friendly, although they objected once when I invited three girls to my room the same day and told me their guest policy was only one guest a day. The fact is that most hotels in Lince don't like guests staying there for long periods, they look for the couple business where the rooms are freed after just three o four hours so they can clean it and rent it again. But I have, on several occasions taken a room for the weekend and invited a girl at daytime and a different girl at night without complains.
