I spent the weekend in Maracay, Venezuela, a medium-sized city about 2 hours straight west of Caracas. I hit "Quinta Cristal" as well as another place called "Buenos Aires". On a Saturday night, Q.C. had 15-20 chicas working who ranged (in looks, on my subjective rating scale) from 4's to 7.5's. The price was Bs. 20,000 (at the time I visited the exchange rate was about Bs. 1500 to US 1$) for everything (25 minutes full-service, in a room on location). You can negotiate for longer if you like. I was told take-out is not available, however, I would doubt that.
Also, checked out B.A. at a taxi driver's suggestion- this place was more out of the way on the outskirts of town. Definitely appeared a little more "peligroso" and I confirmed this with a couple of locals later. I wouldn't go there alone next time. B.A. was definitely a local place but in my opinion was better than Q.C. on this night. There were at least 30 women working ranging from 5's to solid 8's. Add to the fact that the price was only Bs. 15000 for 30 minutes and it was definitley a better overall value.
By the way, there was no cover charge for either of these places and a beer will set you back Bs. 1000 (US $.66). That's my price!
In conclusion, Maracay seems to be worth checking out if you get disillusioned with the Caracas P4P scene (not hard to do). You probably won't find any 9's or 10's in the brothels of Maracay but you can find some quality, cheap fun...

I agree with most of what you say about the scene in Maracay. However, i can confirm that if you are lucky enough you could eventually find a 9 in Q.C. once in a while. ;-)

You very well could be right. I was only there one Saturday night and for all I know, the good ones could have taken the night off and gone dancing in the legitimate discos.
I do plan on a return trip eventually since I live in Caracas and it is just a short 2 hour trip for me. I actually would like to try my luck with the non-pros in the legit discos next time. I saw a lot of pretty girls just walking the street in the day....

Don't expect La Guaira today to appear as it did a few years ago, there was a large accident there in 1999 that practically destroyed the entire area.
I've been living in Venezuela for about a year (mas o menos). I haven't had a chance to check out Merida or Puerto La Cruz YET although they are both on my list. I'll file a report when I do.
I'll be returnng to Isla Maragarita in about a month so I'll let you know about the scene there.
As far as La Guaria, I've been there once to visit a crappy beach with a chica I met and it seemed to me that nothing much has been going on there since they had some DEVASTATING mudslides there about 3 years ago. Hundreds of people died and many homes and hotels were destroyed.
Valencia is a great spot for Gringos. There are not alot of North Americans here so you can prowl the dance clubs and find major hotties. One thing about Valencia is that they hide behind a weird catholic thing and you have to let them say no a few times and boom, you're in. I've been here for 18 months and have quite pleased with the ease of picking up....
There are also cheap and excellent pros (really amatuer type pros) running around a few spots on Avenida Bolivar. I know of one girl who is a college student and very very beautiful. My roomate spoke with three sisters the other night peddling themselves as a group! He said they were pretty and light skinned. Young.
The pro Clubs, Cafe Distinction, Hollywood etc are HORRIBLE!!! But cheap. A friend tells me there is a good place for young college type girls but I have not found it yet.

I've been to Valencia several times and I can't recommend it in terms of P4P. The Hollywood strip club had the ugliest women I have ever seen in a strip club. BUT Valencia is a good place to meet nice and beautiful non-pros. For P4P, Maracay is a better choice IMHO.
As a matter of fact, I just logged on to report my findings of last night....
There are two areas on Avenida Bolivar that had groups of young gals last night. I am pretty sure they are there every night now. I am aslo sure that if I looked around I would find more. I live about three blocks from this area. Both groups had five or six girls, all young, some pretty ones, several with outstanding bodies that lacked a bit in the face dept and a few gross ones. I asked them all how old they were, all responded between 16 and 20. I am sure a couple were in their mid twenties.
I was with my two buddies. We selected two, one skinny one with huge breasts and a skinny one with smaller ones. Neither very good looking really but they both had spunk. Make a long story short, we brought them back to the apartment were we got a pretty vigorous lesbi show after which my two buddy's did them and swapped girls. I did not, my girlfriend was coming over later and she has an uncanny ability to know if i've played earlier in the night.
They each got 30,000 Bolivars which today equates to about us$15. Oh and they let me film the whole episode. No problems.
This general area is about 1-2 kilometers east of Guaparo. Sort of near a very nasty strip club called Cafe Distinction. Which answers your questions about the strip clubs. I've been in two, Cafe Distinction and Hollywood, both horrible, horrible, horrible.
Massage parlors: I don't know of any but will investigate.
Tonight or tomorrow we are going to go and check out the other group were we saw two really nice ones. One fake blonde with an absolutely smokin body wanted 35,000 Bolivars and i think we will try her.

I am not sure I agree with the extraordinarily highly esteemed Zippy in this case, a true monger´s monger if there was one.
There are now at least several Valencia establishments advertising in Caracas´ El Universal. You might want to give them a call. there is NO such advertising on/in Maracay.
Z is probably correct when it comes to nonP4P options though.
While giving all due respect to the Catire, our resident gringo in Venezuela, I would call the mongering scene in Valencia poor to possibly average, at best. I've been to the 4 or 5 major places there including a couple of strip clubs and literally walked out in disgust- only old, hard-core, chain-smoking, whisky-drinking or just plain fat mujeres sitting around dreaming of days gone by when they were young, thin, and pretty. One of them actually reminded me of Marge Simpsons twin sisters- And they wanted me to pay to fuck them??!!
Perhaps the escort scene is better there- I've heard mixed reports, however, escorts aren't really my scene if I can avoid them. I much prefer to see them in person before making a selection. Especially if I'm in a new city, I enjoy getting out of the hotel room and exploring.
See my Maracay report here from about a year ago. While the girls certainly do high-volume business there, at least none of them were born in 1960's or (gasp) 1950's like at most of the establishments in Valencia. But if you must stay in Valencia, go to a regular, non-pro disco (i.e., "La Chat") and you have a decent chance of meeting a pretty, non-pro provided you look reasonably respectable and speak at least a little spanish....
By the way, Pr Man, please let us know if you find any decent new places in Valencia. It definitely has potential since their are numerous chicas lindas alla.....

A question for the experts: a few years ago, I happened to spend the night in some hotel in downtown Valencia. I woke up around sunrise and went out to look for a newspaper. While walking around, I noticed quite a few ladies dressed in particularly skimpy colorful clothes, obviously having worked during the night in some bar or similar establishment - so where in downtown are these bars?

maybe you were dreaming or maybe it was some kind of PR promotion where the babes were showing skin.
In Venezuela, no girl will appear on the street to purposefully wear revealing clothing, unless it's part of the normally sexy wear most Venezolanas wear.
And she would NEVER ever appear in the street dressed in things she'd be wearing inside an "American Bar".

Of course there are girls dressed in skimpy clothing in the streets of Valencia and they are hookers. If they are standing in a small group watching traffic go by, they are pros. You can find them between 1/2 and 4 kilometers east of Guaparo. Be careful! There are a few guys that look VERY convincing even up close. Also, check out sexyvalencia.com and eroticvalencia.com for some girls. I know several of them and can provide a little guidance..

Clearly streetwalkers would qualify and certainly they exist in Venezuela. However, you made a reference to the girls having worked in bars during the night and that these were the same girls.
that's where we part company. Any girl working in any bar in any such clothes will CHANGE them before leaving the bar. They are not streetwalkers.

I have not noticed this mentioned here so I will add it. In several smaller cities (Maracay, Tucacas) I have seen bars labelled Beer/Girls, sort of looking closed up. Inside are beers (and other drinks) and girls. The girls sit and talk with you and order drinks as fast as they can. But they will (or will not) go home with you. So if you don't want to look for SWs, try a Beer/Girls bar. YMMV
It's east of Caracas in the interior. Any info on the p4p or non-pro scene? Or how safe it is compare to caracas?

Here´s the scoop,
the main way to get tail in Merida is to hire a taxi and ask for girls, the prime source for girls is to go through agencies where you call the number to the agency and tell them where you are and they will come to your door. The taxi drivers are well informed about all of this and a great economical place to take them is to a motel that´s actually really presentable for 20mil called Villa Suites, it´s by far the best, I´m not working for them or anything but I love the little set up I have there, the usual price with the girls is 50mil for 2 hours, the one hour I´m not really sure of but the 2 hour is definately worth it. But be sure to get a few numbers because sometimes there are only a few girls working at agencies in a giving night and they will appear in small ugly groups and some numbers will present you with 6 women and have more if you don´t dig them.
But rum is cheap, rooms are cheap, and chicas are cheap but there is one draw back I should warn you about and that is that Merida has the highest AIDS rate in Venezuela because it is a college city with alot of sex going around.
The strippers are available for take out but for 80mil and hour and sometimes less time when they say it´s over and walk out it´s over and plus you only get one shot. BUT they are probably less used and have less of a chance of being infected.
But here´s some of the info I am glad to share because this site has helped me so much in Argentina.

Look, I´m not out to give Merida a bad name if that is what you are implying. I have no concrete source of this information that I can quote from, I simply know what I´ve been told from the students here who go to ULA, and the only source of confirmation I have for this statement is the assurance of my doctor here that it was true and that I should be careful, from who I usually get my regular STD check up from.
So if you want to go out and seek that information yourself go ahead, but I thought that this should be some sort of information that I should share with the rest of you so you KNOW there might be the possibility that it is true and not to be careless and come back complaining down the road saying I had no warning, I didn´t know. Well, I haven't too much to say, Guatire is a small industrial city just past Guarenas (exiting east from Caracas). 2 shopping malls, the Buenaventura and Oasis are very well known and easily spotted from the Main Avenue. Just recently I learn about the club posted earlier and except that, I just know the existence of 2 very famous Motels that are on the way, one of these called Camelot (just in front of the Oasis. Coincidence?). No girls on the corners or in a special meeting place (or bar) that I know.

My research tells me that the Andean city of half a million with over 60,000 students has a ton of potential. Therefore I've decided to spend two months there sowing seeds and breaking hearts. I'll have boots on the ground in a week.

Merida is a city of 500,000 located in the Andes and home of the famous ULA (University of the Andes). The city has a real bohemian air about it and like everywhere in Venezuela is loaded with beautiful women. Getting here from Caracas is via a 90 minute plane ride (around $100) or a 12 hour bus ride in a deluxe sleeper bus (about $15).
There are loads of young students hanging around with delusions of Gringo power. Hollywood has done a great service for the American males reputation abroad.
There are two primary cell carriers that work here: Movistar and Movinet. I went with Movistar, which included a new Nokia and the first month free for about $80. It is prepaid cellular and all the rage here.
I´m still working on the apartment bit as I think the person that I´ve been dealing with is attempting to charge me way over market. There are 5 local daily newspapers and according to other ads there are a few other furnished apartments available. This nut will be cracked in a few days.
While looking for apartments in the newspaper I found no less then eleven agencies that claim to deal in young, attractive massage and other entertainment. One seductive ad offered a one hour massage for 30k and a two hour massage for 40k. I promise to further explore all of these options once I get set up...
As far as gyms go there are several in town. The best appears to be called Gymnasio Cuccaraca which is owned by the same gentleman who owns a very popular disco by the same name. Monthly rates are about $15.
The town seems to be pretty devoid of other foreigners. I´ve ran across a few of the backpacker types from Germany but few others. I also have yet to speak English with anyone.

Yes....in most sa cities people don't speak english. If you realy want to tear up some non-pro gems...learn spanish!!
If you go to margarita Island...MOST turists are from Europe.(85% Germans,Dutch,British,Scandinavians and Belgians) Others are Venezuelans from the mainland.
I have seen many Americans in Panama,DR and some lost mongers in cartagena (Colombia). In Brasil and Peru I hardly saw any Americans. That is.....no large turist groups. But I am sure that US mongers have traveled in these countries.
Also on Cuba there are ver FEW Americans due to the policy of the US government of boycotting this island. IF companero Castro steps down or dies (which is more likely) and democrazy will prevaile I guess Cuba's gates are wide open for US people.
Cuba has (IMHO) some mighty fine women......too bad the country has it's limitations.

Nevertheless, you{re very right about the importance of Spanish language skills off the beaten path. I only communicate in espanol while in country and it has opened many a door here.
As for the ladies. Prior to my arrival I had created a list of ladies in Merida from amigos. com and then played the text message game with them since arriving. I finally told my prospect, after a few rum and cokes, and too many dances that we needed to get some fresh air outside. This morphed in to lets go get something to eat and once in the cab at zero dark thirty and with all the rests. that I saw closed I told the taxi to go to my apartment. It is always a tense moment when you mention those words to a Taxista with a straight face and full of confidence always with the possibility that the prospect will say, what, or no we can{t go there. However, silence is consent and I think it is easier for them to just go along with the plan of least resistance.
Once in my pimped ass pad she had little chance for escape. Turned on the cd player bumping some cool tunes, opened two beers, lit a few candles and you know the rest of the story. This gal was 21 vice 18 like the first but what a hot little thing.

I earlier posted that there were 10 different agencies in Merida. Unfortunately, that was just creative advertising with different ads and numbers but in reality many are the same company. So I can now confirm there are 3 agencies. Of course I have the contact information for all of them and if you{ll be out here shoot me a PM.
To date I{ve only worked with one. For 30k bolivares, less then 15 dollars, they sent 4 young, thin, and very attractive women to my apartment. It was a difficult choice but I picked one for an amazing hour of fun.
It took some coaxing for the agency to agree to send the ladies to my apartment as they said they only go to hotels. But eventually she was one over the gringo accent of my spanish and she sent them over. They arrived exactly on time and it was pure GFE.
Granted, I offered her a drink, had music, etc. But the girl, who couldn{t of been a few days over 18 was a real pleaser.
From my conversations with her, there are 5 total gals in that agency and she arrived from Trujillo 10 days ago. The funny thing was she had plans of eventually moving to Margarita so that she could find a Gringo husband.

You can't change them into housewifes;-) These girls (once married) are real pain in the asses and probaly drive you insane and/or bankcrupt...they will trade up as soon as they are in the US/Europe which isn't hard for them to do. I couldn´t concur more about the hookers to housewife bit. The problem is that too many times foreigners without the advantage of experience with pros fall for their creative cons or are victims of that Pretty Woman syndrom.
As for the phone question, I did purchase a pre-paid Nokia here with Movistar for about $80. It isn´t the newest or coolest but works great and has virtually unlimited free text messaging. And truth be told, I almost never used this function in the states but here it works perfectly. I send all the prospects I´ve met around here some general message about what there up to and presto we´re having drinks.
There are plenty of beautiful, young, and non-pros just about everywhere here. Unfortunately, many (even the students) lack real ambition or drive and many are content with boring and tedious lives. This makes conversation interesting as most haven´t a clue about shit regarding the current state of affairs, history, etc. Many prefer to just zone out in front of a TV. Thats great for noctural pleasures but for me it takes more than a nice young body to keep me interested...
I spent a few weeks on Isla M a couple of years ago and also wasn´t too impressed. I met a few non-pros as it was Carnival while I was there but as for everything else I share your opinion about that barren, touristy rock.

Thanks for being such stud and finally bringing some info on Merida to the board. I've been wondering for years what life is like there, but never had a chance to visit to date.
A few general questions:
1. What was it like getting to Merida? Did you go by plane? What are the logistics?
2. How does one access their money in Merida?
3. How is safety in Merida? I've had friends tell me they actually feel safer in Columbia than Venezuela which has made me nervous about visiting Venezuela in general outside Margarita.
4. I'm just curious if you have met any students who speak English? Of course we should all learn Spanish-- I know that.
5. How friendly are the women towards young gringos? Are the women as attractive as those you find in Caracas?
6. What are some of the places you have found fun to meet the ladies? Any favorite clubs, bars? Any luck walking around the university?
7. About what are you paying a month for rent? Where is a good area to find an appartment?
8. What do you think of the city and area, outside partying with the chicas? Is Merida paradise?

It would be good if the city was relatively inexpensive and fairly safe. I'm probably going to Merida in the next couple of months, but I'm considering my options to maybe visit somewhere else.

here is my view on some sa cities.
first of all before you go: learn spanish. this is essential. trust me even high educated women down there seldomly speak good english. if you are new to traveling to south-america i would not go to colombia.(imho)
start with something easy,well known and not so off the beaten track.
i would suggest panama,costa rica,dom.republic or mexico! (yes sir)
lima: very large city with lots of smog. fist 2-3 days i was there it realy hurts my eyes. food and girls are great (and cheap too). one backdraw on lima is it's size. if you are not familiar with the local bus system you'll need taxis a lot....and that will cost you a lot of money.
the beach in lima also sucks bigtime(pollution and rocky beach....so stay the hell outta there if you don't want to get your skin infected or something like that)
positive: many nightclubs,many pro and non-pro girls availeble.
some barrios are not safe (center,victoria and others) so stay away after dusk.
panama city: tranquilo city with lots of (mainly) colombian and dr hookers. some what pricier as lima but not too expensive. nearby pc you have lots of oppertunities to recreate on beach or resorts. however decameron resort is not cheap (150 $ a day!!).
as a whole i regard the city as "safe"......unless you break the basic rules.(low profile,speak spanish,don't flash arround money..and don't carry expensive things)
you can ask king of sluts for more info....he knows more then me regarding panama,although i think he is sometimes a bit negative towards panama.
fortaleza (brasil): has about 2.5 million people and is a fast growing metropole in the north east. the city itself is buttugly....trust me on this one. the beach however is great,and the night life too. lots of hookers availeble. also you can reant here some cheap appartments. (which is better then any hotel imho)however i heard that the scene in fortaleza rapidly is getting more dangerous and more expensive. if you also like some cultural activities do not go to fortaleza!!!! if you like party every night and hookers...please go there. do not interact with minors (keep in mind brasil girls can look way older then they are!)....if the authorities catch you you are in a world of deep shit.please look into the fortaleza section for more info.
dr: sosua.....a small northern beach town with lots of hookers and nightlife. imho the place is a bit run down and packed with (cheap) mass turism from europe and canada. if you like more style....classy women do go to santo domingo.(the capital). also here are some areas not safe for gringos. please feel free to look for more info in the sd secton.....or ask ******* on this. he is the man on dr.
colombia: cartagena is a very romantic and lovely city with an old spanish colonial city center...and pretty save for colombian standards. as i was there with my (ex) amiga i didn't had much time to get arround with the hookers...but i can tell you that there is plenty of action to be found. from here you can also vist the lovely and tranquilo isla de rosarios by speedboat (lancia);it's about 2 hours from cartagena.
the only bad thing about cartagena are the streetvendors at the beach and close to the beach....those guys are bad mother fucking assholes....and they keep pushing you to sell something!!!!!!!!!! just ignore them completety and do not try to interact with them in spanish or english.
if there is one city you could visit as a first times to colombia....this is it.
bogota has lots of cultural events...and many good looking women. but no beach!!!!!!!!!!! bogota women are very classy and here you need to dress sharp to impress them. just being a gringo won't help....

A few general questions:
1. What was it like getting to Merida? Did you go by plane? What are the logistics?
I had made plane reservations through a Venz carrier in Miami for the CCS to Merida leg. Unfortunately, I was delayed in Customs and Immigration and missed the national flight that I had made a reservation for. It was Saturday, early afternooon, and all the other flights for the day were sold out on both national carriers which fly there. OW fare was around $100. It was either wait on the long standby list or come back the next day. I eventually decided to just get to the Bus Station and get to Merida ASAP. The station (I think La Bandera) had several express executive buses but unfortunately they all were evening departures. So I waited for several hours at the station and endured the way too long bus ride. It was a beautiful new Volvo sleeper bus with seats that fully reclined and was an enjoyable passage. With hindsight, my only concern was with my bags and the cash on my person while waiting in that bus station in Caracas.
2. How does one access their money in Merida?
There are plenty of ATMS. I brought plenty of US dollars to make the most of the black market and know now a few people who give me 2400 per dollar.
3. How is safety in Merida? I've had friends tell me they actually feel safer in Columbia than Venezuela which has made me nervous about visiting Venezuela in general outside Margarita.
Super safe. If you have basic street smarts and aren´t in to wearing shorts and loud hawaian shorts you should be just fine. I´ve been to Colombia, Beirut, Syria, etc and feel super safe here. There are few foreign tourists outside the dirty backpacker breed and plenty of tourist infastructure for the Venezuelans coming from Caracas. I have heard of slash and dash cell phone grabbers from a few women but yet to see anything to make me nervous.
4. I'm just curious if you have met any students who speak English? Of course we should all learn Spanish-- I know that.
Only bits and pieces, probably not enough to get their pants off in English. And personally when I hear horrible english from a young lady it is a real turnoff as I get flashbacks from *****s overexplosed to Gringos. But, there is a major at the University in Modern Languages, so I´m sure that billingual babes exist. Buy some Pimsleur CD´s and you´ll be cruising. You could easily find a tutor here too. Yet for day to day you´ll need Spanish to get the gems.
5. How friendly are the women towards young gringos? Are the women as attractive as those you find in Caracas?
Some have an aversion to the dirty backpacker type as Merida is on the South America Lonely Planet circuit. For me those days are over, so if you know how to dress, can speak the language, and have a little game, you´ll do great.
Personally, I think the ladies are a little sexier in Caracas but I still find plenty that make my jaw drop and the costs are much cheaper here.
6. What are some of the places you have found fun to meet the ladies? Any favorite clubs, bars? Any luck walking around the university? Too many names to list here, but there are plenty. PM me when you plan to go and I´ll give you the details from my memoirs. The university is spread out all over town so there isn´t so much as a central campus as there is in the US sense.
7. About what are you paying a month for rent? Where is a good area to find an appartment?
I paid about $500 for a 3b, 2 bath furnished apt in an exclusive area on the 8th floor. From my research and after being here for two weeks I realize that what I´m paying is probably above market. However, some of the others I looked out weren´t nearly as nice and I was eager to get out of the hotel that I was in. There are 3 local newspapers, one has better classifacados than the others but most agents want 6 mos to 1 yr committments. Yet those that cater to the weekenders from Caracas are more open for the month to 2 month arrangement.
8. What do you think of the city and area, outside partying with the chicas? Is Merida paradise?
Merida has many positive qualities once you get past the typical 3rd world setup of things. I was expected more of a historic looking place but unfortunately it isn´t colonial in the sense of Antigua, Guatemala or Tallin, Estonia. So initally I was a little disappointed with that aspect.
Yet, the climate is perfect, I found an awesome gym, there are plenty of outdoor pursuits in the Andes, cabs and food are cheap, and stylin´gringos are quite rare so I´m pretty happy here.

I couldn´t agree more with Johan, as Spanish language skills are critical.
I'm a big fan of Pimsleur language CD's as they aren't cheap but are the best out there. See amazon.
Or if you have the time there are always the language immersion schools in places like Costa Rica, Mexico and Guatemala.
Personally, I think the best bet is in Xela, Guatemala where for about a $120 a week you get 4 hours of one on one language instruction and boarding with a family. Compare this with Costa Rica where you´ll pay 2 to three times that and instead of one on one instruction you´ll be in a group of 4 other students. Additionally, I think CR is a rip-off these days for newbees to Latin America.

from what i know and read about CR is that it is the most expensive place in all central America. As I was in panama this february I also rented a car (IN DAVID) and drove all the way up to the CR border and spend a day in CR border area. FROM what I heard from some US guys that lived in panama/CR the real estate was way more expensive in CR...also costs of living and yes....also the hookers were more expensive as in Panama.
I do believe that in San Jose even excist some RUSSIAN hookers...!!! Go figure...if those Russians are there that would probably mean they make big $$$$ from large numbers (mainly) US guys down there who are (probably) overpaying these ho's.

I learned 1 year spanish at school (many years ago) and the rest i did myself with an assimile course (CD's and book). This is well known publisher of language courses here in Europe.(though not cheap!!) The accent is towards speaking and understanding the language. Grammar is NOT that important.

I think it's at least as good as Pimsleur. With this and the pratical experiences when interacting with latinas(chatting,emailing,live conversations and telephoning) you'll learn spanish how the normnal people speak it everyday. Allthough the european spanish is very different from the SA spanish.
I would suggest also to try a spanish chatroom...chatlanguage is normaly not that difficult and it's great to improve your language skills.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, I was thinking seriously about visiting Santo Domingo, and Panama City. Both sound pretty interesting, with really hot women. Although my next trip is probably to Merida in the coming months.
I have to stick up for CR. Many on the board feel it is overpriced, and brings out a lot of ugly Americans. But, from spending a few months down there, I had some of the best times of my life.
I think some rich Americans probably go down there and are seriously ripped off, by some hot Columbian models who play them good. But, in my experience I found really nice girl friends (really beautiful) who just wanted a boyfriend. I was dating almost 10 women, it was totally ridiculous, but much fun. On the rare occasion I went to the Del Ray, which has the best professional ladies, I saw guys paying way too much. I even saw a Japanese guy pay $500 for two women for short-time. In general if you dress well, and speak a little Spanish, the typical 9+ Tica will give you some love for $60 US. Not too expensive in my opinion. You may want to check out Costa Rica sometime. It is a very beautiful country with wonderful people. During the rainy season prices are much more reasonable. Also what I liked, was many of the American female college students get really wild once they are abroad, and CR has many to choose from.
Also, I didn't see too many ugly Americans, just a few here and there.

Hi Guys I was just in the other areas section looking at an old post By Cyberdas and he mentioned that Maturin 3 Hours away going east bound from Puerto La Cruz has a good scene with many girls. In Puerto Cabello, the second port in Venezuela after la Guaria, you can find action in the Club 440, a disco, in the center of the town, near the port.

Mistake, mistake, mistake... you paid her upfront. Mistake, mistake, mistake. You paid her upfront. Guys who propose you to change money at the airport are just damn thiefs. Of course they will give you more than thr bank, but way less than the real rate. I never leave Venezuela without money. When I return (every 2 months) that money is less than when I changed it but is still better than changing at the airport, and I don't have to wait to see my money changers if I want to monger cheap Someone reports me that private bank would give you a street rate (to be verify). If you go from Bogota, the airport exchange money will also give you an average rate.
So solution is to arrive with some money to pay the first need and with notes to change at street rate.
Be careful of thiefs.
If you can manage this, Venezuela is now a not so expansive country with pros at 30 bucks.

Hi, I was one month in Venezuela and in particularly in Barquisimeto. Comeliness of girls is hight, they are wonderful. Thanks in advance!I know for certain that Aserca Airlines does not have direct flights from Caracas to Valencia (you would need to fly from Caracas to Barcelona, and then to Valencia), and I doubt any of the rest of the airlies would cover that route, the two cities are too close. The safest way probably would be to ask in your hotel to arrange a "carrerita" with a Taxi driver they know and trust.

Ok. So I arrived Valencia today. Many people told me not to go to Venezuela completely as if I was going to get killed as soon as I get out of the airport.

Ok. So first day I arrived I got in Taxi and arrived Hotel Hesperia. The hotel does not seem girl friendly as much but at this point I did not care I was more worried about changing money. Believe me on a Sunday this was no easy task. So as I mentioned before I did change money first day at range of 850 bsf to usd.
Second day, Monday I talked to a guest of hotel and he brought $100 worth for 920 per USD. This was best I got, but not enough supply. So on Monday I tried hardest to get to Parlomar or to Puerto de la Cruz. Flight tickets cost was about $25 return but nothing is available, not even one seat but I was told it is due to high season.
So I asked finally what is option and I was told to go spend 2 days at beach near by and drive by car to the near city. OH God. I didn't want to even leave the hotel forget driving to another city. People had me scared shitless. Anyway I asked the locals and they said it's BS. Oh well I took my chances and I hired a hotel taxi driver and they charged $15 to go 1 HR drive in a small suv. This worked good. So going the distance made me much more comfortable with the area around Venezuela.

Yes, the current economic and social climate here in Venezuela leads to a LOT of weirdness like that. Taxi drives have to charge high because spare parts for their cars often can be incredibly difficult to obtain and the prices are absurdly high (a single tire can cost four or five times the Venezuelan monthly minimum wage).
And I always say it, crime-wise the big problem here in Venezuela is Caracas. The rest of the big cities certainly are not safe by any means, but also are a far cry from the war zone that is Caracas. As long as you stay in the good areas of the city, and use common sense, you shouldn't have problems.
The hassle of carrying that much cash is definitely a drawback to visiting Venezuela. I also don't like that you apparently have to apply for a visa in person (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Madness. As it is now, if I need to pay something in cash, I need to leave the house with a small messenger bag to carry the bills.
A solution would be to use somebody trustworthy, and have the guy be a "proxy wallet" of sorts, paying in bolivares with a Venezuelan debit card.
And unless they have changed it recently, if you are an US citizen you would need to apply for a three-month visa.
I have only been through a Venezuelan airport, so no experience for me in Venezuela. I should have went before they were asking Americans to get a visa. I'm trying to complete a visit to every South American country, but I will have to leave Venezuela for a much later date. I have been to a lot of countries and once in awhile I'll see some Venezuelan ladies. There can be quite a few found in Curacao. But the best places outside of Venezuela is to go to Paramaribo in Suriname. In a Club called Diamond Club they have at least 60 to 80 Venezuelan girls in there. It is less than $50 US for an hour. Just read the Suriname forum for that info. Their currency is also crashing hard, so it will just get cheaper and cheaper.
I have only been through a Venezuelan airport, so no experience for me in Venezuela. I should have went before they were asking Americans to get a visa. I'm trying to complete a visit to every South American country, but I will have to leave Venezuela for a much later date. I have been to a lot of countries and once in awhile I'll see some Venezuelan ladies. There can be quite a few found in Curacao. But the best places outside of Venezuela is to go to Paramaribo in Suriname. In a Club called Diamond Club they have at least 60 to 80 Venezuelan girls in there. It is less than $50 US for an hour. Just read the Suriname forum for that info. Their currency is also crashing hard, so it will just get cheaper and cheaper.I have to correct myself. It is less than $50 USD for half an hour. I overpaid, $350 Suriname dollars for half an hour. With negotiations you can make it $250 - $300 Suriname dollars. Currently it is about 7. 7 Suriname to 1 USD.
