The life of a girl here. She meets a boy at age 15 or so, they have a baby or 2 and then he leaves. He gives her no child support or money of any kind. She is poor from this point on. She moves in with mom or grandma. Most stay in small towns and never come out, but many do come out to hook. They don't consider themselves prostitutes. Not too many speak English. The real ugly ones stay with old Dominican men. They are always trying to finish school, so they go at night. School is free but you need to buy uniforms. I had a girl for 14 months and discovered she had a Dominican Boyfriend as well. During our time we hung with her kids as well. Some work in stores but they earn $150 a month. Its very easy to maintain a relationship or two here, but I don't think they all are faithful and who cares since we play around as well.
They will bring you home to meet everyone, she will cook for you and wash your clothes as well. I bought mine a cell phone. Many have cell phones here. There is no monthly charge for them. They are playing a game just as we are playing a game. They will ask you to send them money via Western Union, regularly. It is nice to arrive, go to their house and have a nice carefree vacation. I find that I like a selection when I am there.

Maintaining the Harem can be a full time job. When you meet your first "Novia" (Girlfriend} she will tell you if she catches you with another that you are done, but when when you break up because you met someone else, she still wants to be in the picture. She will always ask for Western Union, because someone is sick. The other Novia will want Dinero as well. (Money). Sometimes you will find one with e mail and she will e mail you about the Dinero that she needs. Number 2 can be worked around number 1 very easily, as can number 3,4,5. Let them all be number 2 without a real number 1 in the picture. One of my chicas said she hasn't worked in a month but Fantasy knows her as well and saw her working last week. Its a fun game for all that play it. Forget about Western Union. You are wasting your time with that.
You think you found a trustworthy one, then post her picture so we can see if we know her. I am sure someone does.

While much of what you say is true, if your"novia" was originally a "working girl", that does not mean there are not trustworthy Dominicanas.

My current novia works six days a week at a resort as a bartender. She gets off of work at 5 and takes a 1 hour gua gua ride home. Then she goes to school 5 nights a week from 7-9:30.

She's a single mom. had her son when she was 19, and has been working hard to support him ever since. She has never asked for me to westren union her money. I am actually thinking of having her quit her job so she can study computers and english during the day. Thta would also make it easier for her to travel with me when I am down there. It would be worth the few bucks a month for me to be able to spend more time with her, and also better for her long term to learn english and computers.

I think that both ******* and prtyr2 have good points. You can meet a novia here and she can be a trustworthy individual and you can also meet someone that wants all your dinero. We are still dealing with the "Female of the Species" but all in all the DR experience is a good one and very reasonable on the pocket when you compare it to the prices you would pay for a NYC SW, for example. My advice is to judge each chica on the way that she treats you. If the GFE is happening then I dont see any problem with occassionally sending her money via Western Union. ******* you have to know that these women are hungry and if having 2 american novias helps them deal with the hand that life has dealt them--allow them that outlet.

She had a salon in Sebenta and was looking at space In Caberete when I bumbed into her and met her. she never worked in a bar, had 2 kids, (2 and 4) and split from their father because he drank too much. She was 22 years old. She had a few items of clothing and in the beginning was greatful for the few items I added to her wardrobe. We were together 14 months.
She went to school 2 nights a week and English school 3 days a week as well. She still asked for money every other week and have another Dominican Boyfriend on the side. I see these other girls with American Boyfriends as well and never have trouble getting over on them either. Party, point your girl out to me and I will get over. I never knew a guy whose lady never asked for Western Union. Never! In December I borrowed another American's girl for a few days while he returned to America. She still needed the extra cash. They are all greedy over there. Bar girls are easier, they make their own money and never call The Bank of Jimmy. 6 years, 13 trips and now I understand the rules of the game. It takes time but the rules can be learned. This week alone 2 called for Dinero and 1 e mailed me. What a week it was. Can't wait to get back in three weeks. Need to build up the team.

Hey Fantasy

That is a suckers bet. I could give you my girls address and I am sure if you waved some money in her face she would give you a bbbj and still call me her amor when I next visited Sousa. This is a way of life down there. I think the sooner everyone excepts that "it is what it is" the sooner everyone can get down to the serious business of f****ing.

Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong :)

Hey DR mongers......am almost positive i'll be going to Sosua in mid-october, but needed the voice of experience on some of the chicas. have talked to john at the sosua palace, and will be staying there. HERES THE DEAL: i love women with every look and a great body, but my buddy likes girls with more of the "spanish features". pointy noses, etc. (I'm from chicago, basically not looking like sammy sosa!!) are these available in sosua? the palace, after reading and checking out the website (thanks for that guys.)seems like a great place to stay and monger. i've found some round-trip on american from chicago to POP for around 600 and change.

so info please on:
1.)spanish looking chicas.
2.)good airfare deals.

If anyone will be down there in october, beers are on me.

******* I know there is a lot of truth to what you say, but not all Dominican women are bad girls. More so in the tourist areas as they have more contact with gringos etc.

Also ask yourself this question. How many guys hook up with a nice girl and promise her the world
profess their love etc all because they are trying for a freebie? How many times does a girl get taken like that before she decides to play games as well. No girl wakes up one day and says, today I'm a *****. it is usually a gradual progression and often sped along by guys like us.

Just so you know, I'm not some bozo that has no clue about the DR. I have gone out with all types and even married one. In 4 years I have been there over 25 times. I will be there twice this month.I have seen all types of scams going on in both directions.

BTW, at this point in my life I would almost prefer that you could get over on my GF. I could use some more time for "freedom". It looks like I'll be doing a fair bit of traveling in the next few months and wouldn't mind having a clearer concience;-) If you are willing to put up some cash, I'll take the suckers bet. I also promise no hard feelings if I were to lose. I also wouldn't bet unless I was sure.

Lots of guys say they been there x amount of times. My 13 trips average 9 days, while others go for 3 days. How many days per trip? Thanks but I will find her on my own, LOL.

I think they get spoiled fast as well, first you buy them a pair of pants in the beginning and 6 months later they want the store.I see that you are correct as well since many promise them the world and just bang them. I need a new girl every third trip to keep them fresh and new. I have maybe 100 trips left till death do we part. Now I get calls for sick grandma's as well. Lets build a hospital, and we will get so many chicas in this house of pain.

Look for my responses here, rather than additional posts. By the way; 14 more days till I start my 2 week fest.

I see we have a nice group of guys posting here. Hope to meet all of you one trip or another.Including Prtry2

I have been reading about the other countries and it seems that Dominican Chicas are everywhere. They make great hookers I guess.

Hello,

I just returned from a trip to an all inclusive in Punta Cana, the greatest place I have ever been, the most beautiful women i have ever seen. I took my parents for their anniversary and couldn't get away to meet some chicas. I became amigos with a dominican named David who offered to take me on his moped to "a disco where the girls take off their clothes, and will do more if you pay them", but once again i couldnt really get away from my parents, they wanted to spend time and what not. I did however have a romantic connection with a chica who was a waitress in the resort and after a few days we ended up having some of the best sex of my life.

I plan on returning to the same hotel/resort (Iberostar Bavaro) in August, I have a special discount their and have also made amigos with many of the resort employees, and I need some information. Has any one ever had any luck in Punta Cana or the near by large city of Higuey? Higuey is a large city and so i'm guessing there must be some chicas here.

Has anyone ever been to these "Discos where girls take off their clothes and.." anywhere in the area?

If there are no chicas in the area does anyone have a recomendation on a cheap taxi to Santo Domingo or Boca Chica, the ones i seen listed in the hotel wanted $200 USD to go to Santo Domingo. If i do have to leave punta cana/ higuey which is a better town Santo Domingo or Boca Chica.

One more question can your recomend any good hotels in Santo Domingo or Boca Chica that allow girls and have good one night rates, and their location.

I relize I am askin for alot and I truly appriciate any information any of you gentleman can give me.

Gracias

Hey ricrok

I will try to answer your questions here on the posts

1) I dont think a bus ride will cost you more than $32US

******* mentioned to me that the cost is really 5 US so I am editing this post Thanks Jim

2) I have had experience in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo and Sousa
it depends on what you are looking for in the main cities Santo
Domingo and Puerta Plata this is where the creme of the crop are
located, but if you want a country gal for the GFE try the little
puebloes like Santiago or Charimigo (pls forgive the spelling)

3) I have a girlfriend in Sousa and after just meeting her in a club
15 minutes later I got a bbbj and she took the money shot no problema

4) You can have whatever your sick greasy heart desires if your
assets are in order--can you speak fluent spanish if not ask
one of the locals to introduce you to some women that will
swing that way--it is very easy trust me I have done in several
times in Boca Chica--the threesome thing gets old I like to
really get my freak on with just one hot dominicana

5) SW in DR are a f***kin waste of time and space trust me
they rush you to cum fast and then they are off to the races
to get the next guy. Your best bet is to get a regular gal
that just is trying to make ends meet and is willing to give
you the GFE at a reasonable price.

I hope that this information help you ricrok

For anyone that has been to both Remmington Palace in Santo Domingo and Passions in Santiago. I posted this already in Santo Domingo. Any info would be appreciated.

I have been to RP in SD and luved it....I liked the club like atmoshpere and the selection of girls there was awesom....I personally like lighter skin and younger (18-25) girls.....that look like JLO, Penelope Cruz, ...etc..you get the picture.....

My question is how does Passions compare to RP? I have heard there are like 100 beauties at Passion...which is more than RP. How is the quality of girls compared to RP? As far as looks and attitude and price?

Any info would be nice....in addition what hotels in Santiago allows girls?

Thanks for all the help!

I have been traveling to DR for many years and as I browse through the site I realize I have no idea what the fuck they are talking about, ex. I was browsing through the singles packages and looked at the viking villa package in Puerto Plata, now I haven't been there but I have gone to DR enough times that I would have heard about them by now so who are they, are they just a scam or if they are for real are they worth the money for 3000-5000 USD I can have a fine ass vegas strippers licking me and banging me for a week In DR I could probably fuck half the hoes in Puerto Plata. Hispaniola is a tropical island over 400 miles long and 180 wide. Eight million people live in the Republic, many of them poor as hell. However things are not as cheap as I expected - modest hotel is $40 a night, a beer is $2.50 and a meal a $5. For a room with an A-C and cable TV expect to pay around $60. The local areas are cheaper. A true bargain are the local "goa-goa" minibuses. You can travel on these for next to nothing and they are used mainly by the locals. The catch is they will cram up to 19 people into this vehicle (which is a japanese van - Mitsubishi or Toyota), so it is not always comfortable. But it can be a lot of fun since you get closer to the locals who seem to be generally fun loving friendly people with a quick smile. And they all love their merengue and chapata music. Merengue is this superfast latino dance music they play everywhere. It just gets you going and you have to start moving. So on a goa-goa minibus the driver cranks-up the radio and senoritas sing along the latest hits, somebody will pass around a bottle of Presidente and the senorita next to you may just have so little space that she is nearly sitting in your lap (or it can be a stinky old guy, hehe) and the van is cruising through the bright tropical day. They drive like maniacs and the goa-goas seem to be the worst, trying to make more money. Venturing into the countryside you will see a picturesque hilly country, people living in shacks, pigs running in the backyards, a guy wahsing his motorcycle in a river… Houses are often painted in loud colours, they just love that and it looks great. In the small towns you will see these little tavernas, many of them just shacks with a roof from banana leafs and a pool table inside, guys sipping Presidente or rum and just sitting around, all day long. Unemployment was said to be 14% in 2000, but I suspect it may be more than that now. Lot of people have jobs which pay next to nothing. Looks like they do not have much foresight in doing things and they will sacrify future gain for immediate profit. That attitude includes ripping off the foreigners they depend on, plundering the land and the sea. Littering is another problem they throw away anything/anytime/anywhere and it shows.

The climate, the trade winds and temperatures are similar to Hawaii.

Yeah, driving. They just love to pass. The roads usually have no dividing lines, so it's all up to your imagination. The passing guy will point his vehicle into oncoming traffic to make it obvious what his intentions are and then, just as your whole life flashes in front of your eyes, they swerve back into their lane. I approach it like skydiving - do not look in front of you if you are a passenger in a car, just like when jumping off the plane you do not look down on the ground, because you would get too scared to jump.

The tourists I met on the north shore were mostly Europeans: mainly Germans, some English, Dutch, French, Swiss etc. Some Americans. The hotel owner told me that they are now getting more Americans than before and fewer Germans, he thought the dwindling German economy was to blame. It is actually surprising how few Americans there are considering the vicinity of the mainland.

Crime - the country is a little seedy but I did not really feel threatened. They are actually quite nice. Violent crime is not uncommon, though. One of the girls I long-timed did take some money from my wallet when I was sleeping.

It is hard to find a public phone that would work. Internet cafes are not a problem, cost is $1/minute.

Getting cash from ATM's is usually not a problem. About every second will work.
Money exchange booths are easy to find, although I would not recommned bringing large amounts of cash. Traveler's checks are OK. In the future I will use mainly ATM's.

Bring your own sunscreen and surf-wax, otherwise expect to pay more than twice the US price. In general - you need to know the prices. They will rip you off in a heartbeat, especailly the taxis and girls. Bargaining is a must. Need to speak some spanish.

At the airport do not let anybody touch your baggage when exiting the building.
A common trick - a self invited guy will carry your baggage for you for a few yards and then charge you ridiculous money for the service.

Drink only bottled water. Or beer. The local brew is called Presidente. It has 6% alcohol, so does the imported Heineken. Will get you a buzz in a hurry. Local rum is cheap and reportedly of excellent quality. That would be my two cents.

JUST RETURNED FROM SOSUA MY 20TH TIME. I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. THE GIRLS ARE NICE AND FRIENDLY. THEY ARE ALSO CHEAP OR FREE. THE PROBLEM IS THE FAT WHITE GUYS ARE SPOILING THEM BUY GIVING THEM A $100 DOLLARS. $30 DOLLARS IS WELL SUFFICIENT. I KNOW ALL THE ROPES. ASK ME QUESTIONS BECAUSE ANYONE ELSE WHO KNOWS WONT TELL YOU THE SECRETS ON HOW TO GET THE GIRLS FOR FREE OR LITTLE OF NOTHING.

I WILL BE IN SOSUA THIS WEEK.

For Free, first you need to be going there a few times for that. A newbi going for the first time, getting it for free, unless he speaks Spanish, will never happen. Why don't you give up all your special spots so they will get ruined while you are at it.
You are right about the 500 peso maximum except when you are after some other tourists' chica, that might be extra. HeHe.
We who hang at the Palace as a group always try to keep it as low as possible.

Hey Mariederrick.....you are absolutely right. I have alot of spanish friends that are dominican and also friends that have been to DR. Rarely do you have to pay for any over there. Yes it is true that people ruin things. All in all there will be desperate people that haven't had sex in the longest time offer as much as possible just to try to get some. I mean guys need to chill. Yes our American dollars do talk but you really don't need much. Just tell all the girlsd you meet there that you want to marry them and bring them back the the States. That alone will get you azz if you know what I mean. The girls there are so desperate to leave the country then you are in having sex. If you take my advice and my friends advice you will have no problem getting any or any guy for that matter. I think the oly problem in DR is that the resorts don't let you bing in dominicanas or locals to our room. They let you buy a day pass and have them come into the resort area but to the room is gonna be rough. Thats why yeah you need to stay at some of the low budget hotels there but the other problem with these low budget hotels is that they are surrounded by prostitutes looking for the American dollar and many of the guys running the hotel allow you to bring these females in and they can stay there with you but you have to understand that most of the people running the hotel are supplying the women. So its a Catch-22 situation. What do you do? Well you have a few options:

1. Stay at a nice resort pay for the day pass and try to tip one of the guys there to let you bring the girl back to your room. Trust me money does talk. For $20 you will see hoe fast a dominicano will get 5 hot dominican females delivered to you in like 30 minutes. Whether or not you pay them is up to you. Yeah $30 to pay her sounds reasonable for the night. Other then that i don't know. If some guy is giving a girl there $100 then they seriously have issues.

2. If you stay at a resort and they don't let the females back to your room, there are always dominicanas wandering outside the resort areas and on the beach or go into another city and then if you like her alot have her stay with you in the resort for an extra charge. Most of the females there are so poor that if you told her you were gonna have her stay with you in the resort it is like you are her angel from Heaven. Give her a few bucks and she will be more then happy.

3. Another option is you can stay at a resort and take her to the hourly hotels which is a waste because you probably want to stay with ehr the whole night and you want to be protected. If you don't know the area it may not be safe.

4. Other options is that you can stay at places like FantasyIsland and pay like $45 a night to stay there which is cheap compared to the resort places but you have to realize the girls there are out to make a buck on you. Then my theory of trying to pull off the marriage thing won't really work because they will just go to another guy staying there and make the money off of him. I looked into the FantasyIsland place and they wanted $45 a night to stay there and then they said they supply the females. But they also said that the females cost $45 an hour. So I think this is a rip off. You can get alot beter then that wherever you go in DR. But you are also faced with if you do not know where to go you may be forced to pay this price if you have no other options.

5. If you loking for the model-types, I have a few cities for you to look into. What I mean by model-types. I am saying like Jennifer Lopez types. You should go to places like Santiago, La Vega, Cotui, San Francisco. I don't know it much be something with the air or the sun but these women are hotttttt. Most of these women are light skinned females and many are not looking for money either. Although some is greatly appreciated. Alot of the dominicanas here are good females, what I mean by that is wifey material. For sure you can find a hot female here and bring her back to the States. Just think about you walking into a club, a bar, the store, a restaurant with you new dominican wife and she looks like Jennifer Lopez and has the body to go with the face. Isn't that what we all want? Well if you just looking for sex you may find it here but I only suggest these plces for wifey material. Because in these areas there are an abundance of women and lack of men. So it isn't uncommon for 5 females to all approach you at once and want you.\

I hope this information is helpful to all of you and Good Luck.

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and going to Pureto Plata next week. I'll be staying at Karisma Hacienda Tropical & Suites. This is the 1st time to DR for me. I hope you can help me with the following questions:

1. Currency - Should I use US$ or Pesso?
2. Can I bring girls to this hotel and stay overnight?
3. Can I somehow get a girl to stay with me for the whole trip as an escort/gf/translator? How much would it cost? (or have a different one each day?)
4. Would the hotel give me any problems?

Thanks in advance for your help!

you get better deals using pesos than dollars.

If your hotel is an all inclusive, you can not bring anybody.

possibilities are endless in Dominican Republic about getting a girl.

Thanks, Boricuaonline....

I've just checked exchangerate.com, USD$1 = 17.74942 Pesos...

I was reading some posts here and I'm not sure if they were referring to USD or Peso...Could someone please confirm? I'll be staying there for one week, how much should I take with me? (Mind you, I don't have a lot of cash...this trip is on CC for now). I was also told not to use CC at all.

Yes, my package is all-inclusive........does anyone know if I can still get the ladies inside (at least to the room)? Is there a "day-pass" I can buy for her? How much would it cost (in what currency)?

I hope I have something exciting to report when I return....just keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks.

hey abc123......

I am in the same boat with you man. I been calling all inclusive places in puerta plata and they all said the same thing. you can get a daypass for 450 pesos which i s like $25 US. But that daypas only allows them into the resort area but not up into the room.. Thats what I still can't understand. If you are in the US and get a hotel room they let you bring anyone in. You would tink a 3rd world country would let you do it too. Even if it cost you $25 a night or something. Youy are not asking for her to eat there but to stay with you. Its a complete joke. But I am sure we will find ways around it man. Throw the doorman or belhop or whoever there $5 to look the other way. I am sure guys do it all the time. Its a 3rd world country. The US dollar talks.

hey fantasy......

I'm not dissing on that place. I was referring to the fantasy island adventures place. No I have been to it but I asked people about it. I looked into Sosua Palace and yeah the place is hott. Here is what I think.

Positive: I think its great that you can have females around you all the time in the resort is awesome. Ok so you pay like 40-50US a night to stay at sosua palace. That in itself is cheap and John lets you bring in females too which is great. You can meet single guys too looking to get laid as well.

Negative: The DR is a 3rd world country. The girls there are dying to get out. To meet an American that will bring them back to the States they will fall head over heels. So yerah you can bring a chica back to the hotel and pay her alot les then what the females are charging at the sosua palace. These females want like $40 an hour or per bust. In DR you can have a chica for all day and night for that price or even less. The sosua palace makes their money off of guys coming their and having sex with the girls. Yhey don't just live off of your $40-$50 a night. If every guy that went there brought their own girls and hung out with them at the hotel all throughout their stay then thier would be no need for the female services at the hotel and probably the hotel would not make as much money. If you go to a resort you probably can not bring in the girls to your room but you can probably find a hot chica that may not even chargew you. So you can give her like crayons, pencils, notebooks for her kids or even buy her something nice in return for the sex. There are so many females in DR that you really don't need to pay high prices like $40 for a bust. Also the competiion in the sosua palace is alot greater and its all about who is gonna pay the girl the more money. Just think about it you are a good looking guy and gonna go to sosua palce and there is a fat old guy going there too that has money and doesn't get any sex in the States that will outpay you for the girl you want.

I'm not knocking the place but I just think that you can do alot better in the country for alot cheaper. Its not hard to find a girl in DR. The bigges tproblem is where are you going to stay that will allow her to stay with you? Quite frankly, my trip to DR this time is a lil different. I am not into looking to sharing the same girl some far guy just fiucked the night before. I am looking for a Dominican model that I can bring back to the States. It seems like the girls at sosua palce have one thing in mind and that is $$$. There are alot of girls in DR that are not about that. Go to a resort in Puerta Plata and you will find some good females and the partying is intense. You may even find one you can hold onto for a long period of time.

The biggest question we all have is where you gonna stay?

JimmyDR
10-09-02, 13:19
Well I will back up Fantasy all the way. When you pay $25 to get a chica in your room, you are paying. When you give her books for her kids you are paying. They had their good looking boys and thats why they are dirt poor. I see, you lie to them, then leave them behind. I wonder how many kids you have in DR. You seem like a Man with wisdom. You have 5 posts here and are an expert. We old farts number in the Thousands and have a great time hanging out. So you are saying that any guy that arrives there should b e able to get a "FREE" chica? You need to speak spanish and be able to get around.

When you marry her and return to the USA, she will either leave you (99% Marriages Fail) or get as big as a house. Happy hunting.

I have been there 15 times and I get chicas for $20-$30 for the whole night. I pay for their food which we all do. Sometimes I buy her some gifts. Everyone spends money one way or another.

Hey Jimmy

As usually you are the one giving the sagely wisdom on the board. I say let us just look at DR for what it is a place where quid pro quo is in full effect. A decent guy like you or I can have hot 20 something chicas and the chicas get to have $$$ for their familys etc. Dont get it twisted. It is what it is. That being said. I dont mind sharing some DR pussy with you bud--as long as I get to go first

hey Fantasy.....

You know that when I go to DR there are gonna be so many chicas there. No I really don't need to go the the palace but its one of the few that allow you to bring back chicas. I'm a 22 year old and really don't need to pay for the sex there after hearing so many stories from my latino friends (dominican). Honestly I don't knock what you guys do. It just sounds like it is an old mans place to buy females that can't get any in the States, Canada, or Europe.

Sure whichever way you look at it in life we all are going to pay for the sex so way or another. If you are married she will get you and have half when she leaves. If you are salick you sign a pre-nup with her. My whole object is this. I go and get a dominicana from DR and bring her back to the States. You know she will probably leave you after 2 years anyways. So I say you go there and marry them and do them real good while they are back in America. After a 1 1/2 the sex will probably be worn out so you bring her back to Immigration and tell them to deport her because she is not pleasing you like she did since day one and the marriage is not working out. So before she gets her citizenship just send her back.

I figure you do this every year and a half. This way you get to bang her all day and night while she is with you instead of paying for it all the time. So then in a year and a half from now I will bring back a new bride.

Fantasy we are all alike and all want sex. If you can find a cheaper route to it then why not we try it.

Good luck man.

PZ,

You get one chance to import a wife and then you are denied. If you get it free why are you leaving the USA and why are you even on this board? You seem young and dumb. We would all be getting married for a year or so and then sending them back. Buying a wife is illegal and can land you in jail, but I am an old fart that has to pay. The wife gets half of everything going forward as well and child support. You are on the road to ruins. Good Luck!

Hey PZ you obviously have no fucking idea what you are talking about. When you get off of the formula and switch to whole milk maybe you will learn a thing or two. I heard I should bring coloring books, crayons, notebooks, and pencils for the children. Does anyone know how many of these I am supposed to bring? People have been telling me that I must bring these things and it is mandatory. Well how many girls staying at the palace need these things so I know ahead of time how many I should buy this weekend?

dr isn't an aficionados destination... it's not amsterdam or ja.

you'll be propositioned but beware most who propose are probably on the doubletake.

costs are also prohibitive and i've heard quality is poor.

furthermore if you're caught in possession be prepared for a few weeks in jail b4 your court date because there's no bail.

it really isn't worth it but if you go for it be careful and keep it to yourself. chicas talk so keep it away from them too.

Have you had any without hairy face?

Are you sure these were GIRLS?

Some TVs can look okay (even if you spot some facial hair) until you get their pants off.

Then you've got some disappointment, especially if you've spent your valuable time and drinks on them.

I've been in DR (unfortunately with a GF), but was still given a come-on by some of the locals. I don't recall seeing any with hairy faces, though.

I see quite a few posts asking for information about, among other things, costs of girls at Remingtons, additional advice about accommodation and other spas in Santo Domingo. You would be well advised to contact Mr. Particular at mrparticular02@yahoo.com
We run a complete tour service in the capital, and make it a point to keep up on all the latest developments, also putting together web sites for spas, including www.spamichelle.com and www.spasuenoreal.com
We highly recommend getting away from the usual tourist destination of someplace like Remingtons and exploring the hidden-away spas that we have discovered. Forget Boca Chica, except for a day at the beach. We have at least 15 stops we can take you on in the capital alone, to give you a more adventurous, but safe, experience. Our tour guide is a wealth of information, an American who has lived in the DR for eight years and wants to see you make the most of your visit. Some of our WSG members have already used our services and will attest to the quality. Even ex-pats living in the capital, who you would think would know their way around and not need such a service, are regular customers. Mr. Particular can tell you more. Hope to hear from any of you soon.

Actually last time at Portofino's I saw big Mike. He would never remember me, and seems to have cleaned up his act quite a bit. He was drinking beer but wasn't trashed and beligerent.

You still involved with Spa Michelle? I have had a few beers there, but haven't partaken in their service. It appears that Carolina from Mona Lisa fame is there. Michelle is a cool girl and cute as well.

Maybe I'll run into you down there some time. I'm going down december 3rd and returning january 27th. That should be some trip.

Hi prtyr2. You are correct, sir! Our Mr. Particular service does several things, besides the informed tours to out of the way spots, plus into the heart of the 'real' DR. Slowly putting together an online guide to male entertainment spas, with the first two being:
www.spamichelle.com
www.suenoreal.com
Would be great to run into you again when you are here for your extended trip. The driver for Mr. Particular is an American who has lived here for eight years and is a wealth of information. Mybe I'll run into you ate Michelle or Suenos real. I don't really get to those places much. If I am bored or need to wait for my girlfriend while she is at the salon or at her computer class, I sometimes stop by and have a beer. Her computer school is literally a block away from mona lisa.

I just have a few beers, buy some for the
chicas and chill. Haven't actually gotten a massage in a long time. Even then it was rare.

If they had Internet Flash and a WAP at Spa Michelle or Suenos real they would attract more customers

I know DSL is available in Gazcue where the massage places are located.

Think about it, I could check my email at an internet cafe with crappy dial up, using crappy machines or with DSL on
my laptop while drinking beer and hanging with the chicas enjoying the "show".

Heck if I didn't have DSL in my apartment I'd be there every day. If ya ever need to upload or FTP large amounts of files, let me know, I've got broadband, nice computers etc etc etc.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the board and have been looking around to gather info for a trip to the DR I am planning to take this Spring. There has been plenty of great info here on places and prices as regards the delectable chicas. Thanks to all who posted such useful information.

I would also like to whet my other appetites for pleasure while I am in the DR. Can anybody post info on recreational pharmaceuticals? Availability, pricing, quality, who NOT to deal with and who, in very general terms, can you deal with on such matters? What is local law enforcement's attitude on purchase and usage? What are the penalties one would face if bagged holding?

Also, can anybody post the contact info of a good doctor who speaks English? I'd like to have that in my wallet as a just in case kind of thing (especially after reading *******'s report as regards his recent forays with medical assistance). Also, as I like to "Be Prepared" as I was taught in the Boy Scouts can anyone post the contact info for a good English speaking criminal attorney in the DR?

How about Tour Guides? Anyone that you feel should be recommended? Anyone that you feel should be avoided? I am looking for a room with DSL, any recommendations?

I would also like to know if any establishment specializes in employing English speaking chicas.

At the time I am writing this I am leaning toward The Palace as my first dip in the pleasure of the DR, any advice against such?

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

Keep a rain coat on that willy!

Hi Guys,

I am looking for cheap flights from MIA to POP. The best rate I found so far is 228 RT. That was on AA. My dates are flexible and I am targeting to depart sometime in the spring. Anyone have a better rate or looking for parties to add to a charter?

Has anyone used a chartered flight before? I like the lack of hassle with security in using a chartered flight. The TSA is so obnoxious. I like my travel with as little fuss as possible.

Two hours is a decent flight time for me. That I can handle. Any airlines I should avoid? What's the deal with currency exchanges? I usually find that airports are a rip-off. What's the best places for the best rates?

Anyone else planning for the Spring? It looks like I will try the Palace for my first trip to the DR. I called John there the other day and he said the Penthouse will be ready real soon. $100/night. What's your take on that guys? I'm thinking of going for it because, hey, what the fuck, I'm on vacation, you know. I just have to make sure it has air conditioning and I can order all my *amenities* in. ;-)

I have never tried Viagra but plan to on this trip. Anyone have any advice as regards contraindications with recreational pharmaceuticals? I'm all ears.

I just dig the idea that I can walk in off the street and buy V over the counter. Outstanding! My kind of place.

What about paraphernalia as regards rec. drugs? I am more than a little leery traveling with such. Do they have paraphernalia shops (head shops) in the DR? I can usually make what I need in a pinch at a local housewares store in the US. Any equivalent in the DR?

What about sex toys? I don't relish the idea of some TSA thug pulling out a two to three foot dildo from my bag that I was bring to facilitate an ass-to-ass show. Do they have any for sale in Sosua or anywhere else in the DR for that matter? What about mailing stuff ahead? Is that cool? Is it common practice? I could Fed Ex my package out the same day as my flight and be in the DR the next day to sign for it. Anyone here have any experience with that?

Anyone planning on traveling in the Spring give me a shout out. Maybe we can hook up for a couple of cervezas at the Palace.

Happy hunting fellas!

-Mattster

PS I may be asking a lot of questions but I agree with the maxim PPPPPP (Proper Planning Prevents [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) Poor Performance). Who wants to have a hassle on vacation? Plan ahead the man said. Another maxim I like is something an old junk dealer said: "Be careful who's money you pick-up". Always good advice.

Hola Mongers,

Any language schools in the DR? I wouldn't mind spending a few months learning Spanish in an immersion program if the price was right (and I could always write it off).

I wonder if I could swing a Fullbrite Scholarship for such...

That would be a hoot! Uncle Sam paying the bills for one's time in the DR. I always did enjoy creative financing. ;-)

Hi Mattster: For more information on immersion Spanish lessons, please contact us personally at mrparticular02@yahoo.com
We at Mr. Particular have lived in the DR for more than four years and, believe us, there is more than speaking Spanish in the DR than simply learning Spanish. There are many different dialects used, in many ways you can compare it to the various forms of English that are used in parts of the US; the cold, hard truth is: that many people from different areas and different social standings, speak a whole different form of Spanish, and in many cases, cannot even understand each other, without great effort. We also have teaching experience in Dominican educational environments and may be able to work something out with you as far as fast-tracking your communication skills.

octatron,

Puerto Plata (POP). flight leaves Miami daily at about 11:20. arrives in pop at 2:30 or so. Jesus from the Palace will be waiting for you. John welcomes you at the Palace at 3pm, 3:05 Luca takes your bags to your suite, 3:07 you are getting blown by a goregueos 18 year old, you finish the scedule.

Why POP and the Palace?

Flight is shortest

Smaller airport, less crowds less hassles, faster immigration.

Airport is closer to a monger destination.

John at the Palace will show you around quickly for money exchange, restaurants, disco, bars.

At the Palace you can find plenty of afternoon action, which is sometimes hard to come by in Boca Chica or Santo Domingo.
and this is a must for a two day stay in my opinion.

With a short stay like that make sure you have vitamin v. If not John can get it for you.

I think Santo Domingo is a better place for 2 day trip if you do not need the "support network" of Sosua. Heck as soon as ya leave the airport in SDQ, you can stop at Pacos which is maybe 5 minutes away. Stay at a hotel in Gazcue area and there are maybe 6 massage places open in the day time within walking distance etc.

The way I look at it, because of sheaper prices, Sosua might be a good idea if staying a long time and trying to do it on the cheap. If you are only going for 2-3 days, money is usually less of a factor.

The quality of women in SD is certainly higher than Boca or Sosua.

Santiago is another option but the places are spread out too far.

In SD, if you stay at say Juragua, or Casona Dorada etc, you can walk to:

Daytime places open till maybe 10:00 or 12:00 :

Mona Lisa

Sueno Real

Elegante

Cisne

Michelle

the place behind the TV station

cinquenta dos

night time places:

Remington, pretty long walk though

lapsus

Tabu

Merengue Bar

Typical 5 night trip using Boca Chica for example:
Tourist Card-$10
Airfare-$500
Taxi to Hotel roundript-$25
Hotel-$40US a night=$200
Total for trip=$735

My budget for 1 day with pros/semi-pros
tips only for food/maid-$5
motoconcho-$1-2
Food(only eat two meals a day)-$10
Drinks(usually Presidentes)-$25
Buying girl drink(s)/or to those begging(only to elderly or children)-$10
1 short time(two climaxes/1.5 hr usually)-$20-26
Overnight woman-$30-35

I arrived Tues let's say at 12 pm and when I wake up Wed this is how much I have typically spent for that 24 hr period:$101-$113
Will use $110X5=$550

Overall total for 5 night trip=735+550= $1285
I am posting this because of seeing how much Babylon Resorts charge for just 3 nights($2500US approx) For that much money you could spend around 2 weeks in the DR and bang 28 different women if you use different woman for each short time and overnight.

In my brief research I think the Babylon $2500 "arranged" trip is not only too expensive but also a cop-out. Your below post of less money & more adventuring & more women sounds far better & satisfying. I am english-only speaking however & am worried that I will have too tough of a time negotiating with street girls/locals but I guess that will be part of the "monger-high".

I've seen a few posts where people are asking if ok to Fed Ex "paraphanelia" for their trip to DR as a way to avoid embarrassing situations at the airport or in customs.

Guys stay away from sending toys via Fed Ex, UPS or any other carrier. Not only is it prohibitively expensive (about $60 to 80 for a small box under 5 lbs) but it will get caught up in customs there and it will take about a week for it to be delivered. And that's just assuming the delivery is to take place in Santo Domingo. In the other areas, delivery service is spotty to say the least and you could honestly wait up to a month for a small package to be delivered. The other problem is that you will have to pay an import tax on whatever it is that you send. This is an arbitrary process, and you could get screwed into paying hundreds for that two foot long, family heirloom dildo you plan on using on some unsuspecting chica! (lol)

My advice is to leave the toys at home, and if you MUST have them, I'm sure there are places there that can sell you whatever your disturbingly perverted hearts desire.

Good info, Carib Traveler:

I have a few local women now in the DR and the mail service there is horrible if they even receive it. Customs tax the hell out of any type of items. The best thing to do if you meet someone down there is keep in touch on-line, just use Priority GPS, etc, only for letters or pictures but expect 1 week-2 week delivery time. Sending packages is not worth the effort and for god's sake don't send money in the mail, if you do, don't declare it. There is a good chance they won't get it. If you have to send money, become the Western Union "John" and pay your 6 dollar rate to send money, plus 8 percent on the principal. Sending 100US will cost 114 total and they will have it in 15 minutes. I am saying this because I have had paternity done and have son there now, she was normal girl and still is, she works and I send a little bit down every month.

Smallworld,
It is safe for travelers, just don't overpay. The girls know how to negotiate, they know that much english, lol. Plenty of black girls/Haitian descent in Boca Chica. Santo Domingo have more variety of skin color. Santiago and surrounding campo have more light colored skin and a good variety as well. Saw posts of yours in various areas, hell I can meet normal girls if I wanted but if you want websites to meet girls, they have ones like dominicaninlove and amigos.com, the latter I have actually used with good results. Well, have fun.

Is there a generic brand of Viagra in the DR? If so, what is it called? I have never tried Viagra/generic form but am going to in future trips. Just experiment with it at 25MG doses and see what happens. If not I will just try Viagra down there. Thanks.

Hello Gentlemen:

I'm an avid Brazil aficionado and I keep hearing good things about the DR, but honestly when I compare the prices for the trips it seems as if the Brazil Trip is more economical? Any one here done both Brazil and DR that can give me an honest comparison?

Levitra is the other alternative to Viagra, manufactured by Bayer. I recently read in the news about some deaths because of people using generic Viagra made in unauthorized laboratories, but I dont know how it can affect an X-men.

Thanks Boricua,
Do you know how much Viagra costs in the DR? I was mainly asking because I didn't know if they would say we don't have Viagra and try to sell me another generic brand and I didn't want it to be BS. From my understanding you don't need a prescription in the DR.

Phil,

It's been a few years since I was last in Brazil. You're right Brazil is very cheap and the women there are CRAZY! I did most of my traveling there just before the huge currency devaluation. However since the brazilian REAL is no longer a major currency, it is quite possible that the prices are as good if not better than DR. Airfare to Brazil either Sao Paolo or Rio de Janiero is getting pretty cheap from Miami. I've seen a couple of sub $300 fares on occassion.

The airfare and hotels are pretty cheap in DR, but what is really surprising are the costs for food and drink. Overall, it is basically given away. People have a hard time understanding that american brand cigarettes typically cost around a dollar. Drinks are super cheap. These are the things that typically kill travel budgets. In Brazil, the last time I was there, the whole trip cost me about $1200, including airfare, meals and hotel. And that was for 4 nights. In DR, $1200 will buy you a lot of pussy.

I'm going to DR soon, but have dreamed of partying in Rio for a while. I may go there this year.

Hi,

First time poster, but will return often! I'm going to La Romana in mid September. Any idea how it is for chicas? I speak some spanish, so thats not a prob. I'm staying at an all inclusive (Iberostar), which is pretty "nice". Will I have trouble getting girls in (if I find any)? Any chance I might just find a week long GF to hang with if I feed her?

Thanks for any help...
(PS - if its really dead there, I may take a 2 day trip up to Sousa)

I see a lot of you guys want to have steady girls down there which I must say is very nice. The first thing you need to do is to learn a little Spanish so you know what she is saying. The second thing is never ever meet one in a *****house thinking that she is a nice girl. They crossed a line to get into that position. You can meet them at the Beach on Sundays which is family day or you can meet them working in stores or even on Public transportation. Find out what their goals are. My girl was going to school 2 days a week and wanted to finish High School. She was 22 at the time and now 3 years later she will be done July 2004. I said to her that I will pay for college and thats what she really wants to do. She has a plan. Lots have plans but mostly the plan is to get to America or the fuck out of DR. Another great plan is to see how many gringos will send them Western Union. She also wants to own a house one day and after she finishes college she will have a good job by their standards and she will have it.

Another way to judge them is to see where their kids are. If they are with grandma then you are with a party girl. Some do have their kids with them. They hire babysitters. These are decent chicas as well.

My girl needs money to get by but she has never asked me for money for her family ecept 50 pesos for one of the to babysit the kids.

One of the great things about school is it takes 3-4 hours and I can roam all over everyday. They need goals. Coming to America is not a GOAL!!!

Ok I've gotten no info on Punta Cana so I am now thinking very little to nothing is available there? What town is close, to Punta Cana, that FS is available? I will be allowed at least 3 hours once maybe twice during my stay, and the little women just isn't enough for me! Also does anyone know if tours are avilable to Cuba from the D.R. ? If so if I'm an american just traveling with birth certificate and I.D. will I have issues with Cuban Immigration?

Mr. Particular

I am writing this to all of the forum users out there, so that I can bring up a few points about me and also about the "scene" in Santo Domingo. I am the person fondly or not so fondly referred to as Mr. Particular. I am an American who has lived in Santo Domingo for 9 years. I speak fluent spanish, and through many personal and business trials and tribulations I have managed to gain a great deal of knowledge and insight into all aspects of Dominican life and culture.

I would like to take the time to address several subjects that I have recently read on the boards, although I have to admit I don't regularly read these boards nor will I be regularly reading them into the future. Not to show any disrespect to anyone who regularly writes their opinions in these columns, but I simply have many other more important things to do which encompass my life here in Santo Domingo. Please don't be offended if I don't respond on the forums, the best place to reach me is the mrparticular02@yahoo.com address should you want me to respond. In the next month, you can also access me on our new website mrparticular.com.

One of my big concerns in reading some of the opinions and advice columns given by "experts" on the DR is that people are often encouraged to do it on your own, that the DR is a safe place and you can basically have your own adventure here. This is not only very poor advice but it is very dangerous advice, and ignorant as well. Unless you live here, you may be coming here every few months/6 months/once a year, and you will have a feeling that you are king and the world is your oyster. Very wrong.

With the fall of the peso here (which many of you are finding is working towards your advantage) the level of desperation is at an all time high. People are capable of doing anything (and are) if it means getting a few bucks in their pocket. Last week a police general was wounded and sargent killed here in a robbery attempt by two people in Santiago, that were then caught and killed. Crime is very much up here and this is because those who make pesos are not making any more money, and while their salaries remain the same inflation is at 60% compared to a year ago at this time.

I am not trying to scare you from coming here, I am simply saying to you use your heads before you encourage anyone to come down here in "do it themselves" mode.

When I take people on tours, I know of 27 stops that I can take them. All of the stops know me personally and respect me. Both the management and the girls know that when I walk in the door they better treat the client with respect and not inflate their prices, or they won't be seeing me very much or ever again. If they mistreat the client, they will see me again but they won't very much like it. Luckily this doesn't happen very often.

Santo Domingo houses have their rules that I have absolutely no control over. When you go to a house between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. and you pay for a girl to be taken out, you can have her for up to 3 hours. Incidentally you pay the same if you take her out for the 3 hours or do her there for 1 hour or so. If you take the girl after 1 in the morning, you can have her until 11 in the morning only if she agrees to those terms. If you do what NPaul did, for example, and want the girl at say 10 p.m. until the next morning, you have to pay a double salida, which is why he paid so much. I will allow him to tell you if he was informed of this and if I speak the truth.

Now let's address the issue of commissions that a lot of you seem so worried about.

Most houses pay the guide a commission for bringing the client by. This commission comes out of the girl's cut and does not affect how much you pay, whether you go with a guide or not. The girls don't mind the guide taking the cut because they know if my client gets treated right, and another client uses my service another day who likes her, that I will recommend her as a good choice to spend the night. She winds up getting a lot more business. Girls who have no intention of treating my clients well also know to stay away from a Mr. Particular client, because if I find out that they were not treated right, I will go back the next day and have a talk with the management. Just out of curiosity, how many other services are doing this?

Now about casa de las modelos in the University zone. I highly recommend that everyone stay away from there. You have already read NPaul's experience. I also had 2 other customers that went together and took 2 girls out at 4 a.m.. I spoke with the girls and they assured me that they would stay with my clients until 11 a.m., and they ran out after 45 minutes in a planned scheme. I went back the next day with the 2 customers, and spoke with the boss (a vicious looking thing that looks like she could play linebacker in the NFL) and explained the situation to her, and demanded that the money be returned to my clients. She spoke with the girls, who of course denied everything, and refused to give the money back and threw me out of the house.

Casa de las Modelos used to be a good place, but the personality of the place has changed recently. The girls are much tougher and do less for more than any other place I have found. Casa de las modelos also stopped paying commissions to guides 4 months ago, but, for the record, I still brought any and all customers that were interested in this place by there until now. I will not be bringing any other clients by this place ever again.

Now to address those who come down here and want something for nothing, which they seem to think exists here when they can't get that in their own country. I have never put a pistol to anyone's head to use our service. Those who have used it, and there have been many of you, know that I am very professional, I treat you very well, that I am honest (yes, I will even tell the client when I am getting a commission), and that you will be safe on my tour. I cannot absolutely guarantee that the girl will treat you as you would like, although I have a very high rating with my clients, it is not perfect. Guys who use my service regularly know I throw them discounts all the time.

I guess the main thing here is that if you would like to take a tour of Santo Domingo with someone who speaks fluent English and Spanish and has 9 years of experience living here, that takes the guess work and hassles out of your vacation so you can have the best time, then I am your man, and if you have it all figured out or have a cheaper way of doing things, that's fine, too, and I respect that, and I hope that you respect that I would rather be doing something else such as spending time with my family.

Mr. particular. You seem to be posting thsi same message EVERYWHERE. Most of what you write in this message is BS.

Tell me how many gringos you have heard of getting mugged, or robbed in Gazcue? I have been to the DR about 50 times, walk all over that area any time of night, and never saw even a hinto fo a problem. Most of thse massage parlors and casas are in decent areas or gringos need to take taxis there anyway.

Commisions> Now you know you are lying. Commisions get ADDED to the price.
If I go with you to Mona Lisa and pay 1500 pesos, are you saying you will get a cut of that from the girl's take? Nope. They will not pay ANY commision if the price is 1500. Now if you bring some gringos they will UP the price and give you a cut. I spent a day visiting 9 of the top massage places in SD with my buddy who drives a taxi. the deal was pretty similar in ALL places. He brings gringo, and the price is higher than if a gringo shows up on their own. He gets a cut out of the EXTRA pesos, not from the girls cut. The average commison for FS was 700 - 800 pesos!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with taxi drivers or touts getting a commison if they bring the customer to the casa. I DO think it is wrong when the "guide" is charging the customer for their "services".

Why should anybody pay you 20 bucks per hour, so they pay MORE at the casas?

Why don't you post the prices your "clients" have to pay at each massage place and I will post the real prices?

Deal?

What makes a hooker a great hooker, their ability to act and make you feel special of course. Sosua is full of these actresses that make you think they like you when you are just another gringo of course. Two of the best I met back in April 2002 were Ester and Yocaster, who between them had about a dozen guys falling for their acts. Some days they went between 2 different boyfriends and it was fun to watch.
Watching them turn on the water woirks is a show unto itself. Tears on, Tears off.
When you rent a car and they give you great service do you think they like you any better, of cours not. Customer servive is a tool and the girls of Sosua have mastered it.
After spending 120 days in Sosua over the last 2 years, I have seen these done over and over again. So many Monger hearts were broken. You meet a girl in a *****house, she is a HOOKER!

If you speak Spanish and meet her in a non tourist town, you have a chance for a semi relationship but never in a town full of hookers.

Just my 2 cents here.

I was in DR back in 97 or 98. Stayed in SD and also went to Boca Chica. My impression was 90 percent or more girls - very very dark, in both cities. Maybe we didn't go to the right places, I am just saying from what I saw on the streets and beach. Downtown SD in ruins - no lights at night whatsoever - main street was completely dark. The beach was great though, and it felt safe being there despite the poverty.

I heard that in the North, girls are of a lighter complexion, green/blue eyes? Is this correct, as I haven't been able to determine if this is true from reading the board.

Thanks all!

Dear Sean EZ,

I just returned from the north coast of the D.R. and no I wouldn't say that the girls are especially light-skinned up there either but many of them are absolutely stunning!
Attached is a girl from the capitol city of Santiago that I would classify as the "typical" Santiago look. Due to the fact that Santiago is in the mountains and somewhat isolated [which may lead to a higher % of inbreeding?] many of the girls possess consistently typical facial features. Thank God!!

Sean ez,

I'm no expert on the DR or Dominicans, but I think that on average you're going to find that most dominicans are darker skinned and have black facial features, hair textures & body-builds. The reason being is rather simple: Thier country, along with Haiti, was once a destination point for countless thousands of slaves from West Africa.

So, going to th DR and complaining about there being too many black chicks is almost as bad as doing likewise in a place like Lagos Nigeria or something.

Whatever the case, I think that Dominican women are hella fine and have some really nices asses. Check out some of the pics here! In my book they sure-as-hell beat the ironing-board assed american women that I run into on-the-daily.

Later!

Chacho

Dear Sean EZ,

If you are looking for very light skin girls (White girls with Green or Blue Eyes) and they do exist. You will have to go into the country side of the Dominican Republic to a Town called El Rubio (English Translation, The Blond Town. The town is name this way because of the obvious reason 70% of the people of blond hair and blue or green eyes.)

I have been to this town and the other sorrounding town and I have the experience to be quite good. When you get to El Rubio go to the town Disco after 10 PM, you will not be disappointed with the result and the types of girls that you see.

There are two negatives:

1. El Rubio does not have a very good Hotel. It does have one in the center of town. Even Though they call it a hotel, it more of a Bed and Breakfast type place. The owners will let you bring Girls to your room no problem. The cost of stay is $ 30.00 per day.

2. Very little English is spoken here. There are some people who know english, but the number is very small. If you know how to speak Spanish or even a little you will be alright.

I had a good picture of a girl I use to see everytime I went there. Guys I am not lying she is a 10. I look for the pic and post it later on.

Well, I hope this help you folks. If anybody has question, please just ask.

El Cubanito,
Can you give us a little more details about this town. I have been to the DR about 10 or 11 times over the last 6 years, I even lived there for four months once. How is this town is for gringos? Is it safe? Are the girls putas or nonputas? The experience I have is that the people are real friendly in these countryside towns. You do not come across as many bullshit artists and conman looking to rip you off as you do in the tourist areas. What kind of places to eat? I have a funny felling this place could be a real goldmine because a lot of gringos do not go there. Thanks for your info.

Hello backnblack,

Yes, you are right this town is a gold mine for gringos. Gringos are very welcome in this town. There is a mixture of putas and non-putas in this town. The non-putas if you talk to them and treat them with respect will open their legs for you and do a whole lot of stuff with you. I met this tall blond girl a couple of years ago and she was excellent.

You are also correct about not a lot of bullshit happens here. As far as places to eat there is only two. There are two restaurant in downtown Rubio that will serve food. Let me know if you are looking for a place to stay. I will recommend a good bed and breakfast type place. The best time to got El Rubio is right after Christmas. As most of the girls in the country side come to the town looking for fun and sex.

Good Luck

The World Geographic Organization must of missed one.
My "D.R." map shows the town of El Rubio to be in the central/western portion of the Dominican Republic between the towns of Los Rincones and Los Caimiticos - approximately 30 miles southwest of the City of Santiago and about 50 miles east of the Haitian line.
I'm going to be "North-coasting" in the D.R again for two weeks next month - I wonder if El Rubio is worth the drive?
I'm thinking I like the D.R because I like Dominican mujeres' looks, if I wanted blonde hair and green eyes maybe I'm better off on an Aer Lingus flight to Dublin. ;)
Just my 2 cents.

El rubio is an actual town. I have spent time in the Santiago province and surrounding areas. It is small and I didn't realize the town had a bed/breakfast or any type of lodging. I just passed through here when I was visiting San Jose de las Matas. I would say it is about 45 minutes drive from Santiago and less than 30 minutes from San Jose. I wasn't overly impressed because in the Santiago provinces there are more light skinned women than on the coasts. Santiago itself has many lighter skinned women. Any smaller town without many tourists, action can be found at disco's with normal women with a few drinks and dancing with them, speaking above elementary Spanish is almost necessary.

A tip, fly into Santiago(STI), catch a cab to San Jose de las Matas. The only really place that I know of to stay is the new hotel that is located on the Ventana River about 5 minutes from town. People swimming in the river daily, especially near the hotel, very romantic to sit by river at night with some drinks with a normal girl. A couple of concession stands are there as well an little colmados(stores). I would rent a motorbike or get two cell numbers of taxi drivers and if you want to go to town, go for it because it will be only a few dollars(3US at most). There is the real happening bar there, La Igua where they have famous Bachata singers perform there frequently on the weekend. The bar is packed. I know it is less than 100RD to enter and there are literally about a 1000 people there. Single women will be sitting at tables usually in a group. Be bold and go up to one and offer your hand and they will dance with you. The man is more respected up here and if they are interested in you, you can tell but they almost always will dance with you anyways. Have them teach you Bachata or Merengue. Very good non pro gfe in this town. Very poor people and treat them well because they are not the usual women you will run into at Boca Chica, etc. Very safe and everyone is more than willing to offer you assistance. I don't know of any brothels here but I am sure there is one because I had good action up here from nonpros. Had a child with one as a matter of fact. If you can't find any action you can always go to Santiago to one of the clubs there while cultivating the nonpro experience. Beautiful scenery and I will post a picture on this page of la ventana and surrounding scenery. Oh the name of the hotel is Hotel Sajoma(Ventana Rio Lindo). For a nice single room is 500RD(just say 15US). Owners are Marina and Miguel Pena. Tele: (809) 9394423 or (809)5788234. Cell: 809 9147763. A worker there named Noel can help you out with the woman situation if need be: cell 809 974 8166

If you want to try out El rubio, or San Jose or any surrounding smaller town, I highly recommend that, relax and not worry about all the vendors and tigres/as, spend less money and get nonpro pu..y, then go for it. I had to crop the photos they were too big.

another normal hot one. All of the pics I posted are of chicas 18-19yr old but I am 26 so I get the young, nice looking ones in my opinion. I had to post some photos of what can be had besides some of the uglier, hard core pros who don't give gfe like normal girls. Sorry I did horrible job resizing and my first digital camera was horrible, 1.3 megapixel. Other photos are with my 2.1 Samsung, sure can tell the difference of quality.

Greetings :)

I live in New York City and paying for sex here really sucks.

So I am thinking of visiting the DR for a nice one week vacation. :)

If these questions have been asked, then I apologize, but please answer them for me. :)

1. Does a U.S. citizen need a tourist visa to visit the DR?

2. Is sex legal in the DR?

3. What else do I need to prepare before departing for the DR?
Do I need to bring any documents?

Thank you very much for your feedback. Let's go and help the DR's economy! haha :)

Sincerely,

New World Order

new world order,
you can buy the 10us tourist visa at miami airport if going through there but i always buy at the airport in the dr when i arrive. they are green tourist cards that they don't even look at and i always fill out in line. if arriving in sdq airport, as soon as you are walking to customs and the lines, look to the right and you will see a booth selling tourist cards. you can travel on official copy of birth certificate with raised seal and a photo id. a passport is much easier though. sex is legal and a booming business, massage parlors, prostitutes, are all legal. of course there are sicko's out there who want to mess with **** and a good rule to stick by is, don't stick anything under 18 but you know that. cheap sex, beautiful women, and great beaches, have fun. most girls are beach/bar workers, street walkers, etc and a great thing is no bar fine. mainly free lancers except at higher end clubs who have exit fees. all night should be less than 1000rd, and for 2 hours during the day less than 800rd. i always shoot for not spending more than 50us a day for action for a couple hours during the day and an all nighter and never once have i spent more than 50us for this. currently about rd35 to 1us. have fun.

I just want to give some people some advice on meeting normal girls the easy way if you are limited in Spanish or not very outgoing. I am not endorsing any services but basing on my experiences. I have looked through free penpal sites, you know to get penpals and try to work something out extra but usually only one or two dominicanas on the site and no luck on that. I have tried out the greatest ripoff ever. adultfriendfinder dot com, if you like spam and women sending links to adult paysites, than join. I did meet one woman on there who was from Santo Domingo. I emailed all of the women in various age ranges and out of dozens of emails, only 3 were legitimate that responded. The picture that was sent to me was older and she was heavier than the photo. I did get a freebie but didn't see her again. So I wasted the 3 month fee I chose for one normal woman who wasn't all that great but she gave good effort. I have also done MSN, Yahoo member searches and emailed nice looking ones with photos but it is very time consuming and once again after a lot of time spent, though of no cost, I did bang another from Santo Domingo.

Now what I do, I don't plan on going to the DR much anymore so I will post this. I sign up for amigos dot com with a month's silver membership. It costs about 11US I believe. You get unlimited emailing and you can email thousands of Dominicanas or women around the world. Plus some of them email you. I do my searches and email all the ones I find interesting, attractive if they have photo, and I have had numerous responses to my emails. About 2/3rds at least respond. I sign up about 1.5 months before my trip because I don't want to talk to them longer than I have too, then they want you to call them, do Messenger thing, etc. I establish several good relationships with women that I narrow down after a couple of weeks, after several emails I gently break the ice regarding making love, seeking a nice woman who can please me in all ways including sexually because I won't have a relationship with any woman who isn't pleasing to me in bed. I stress that and usually shyly they will respond back that they know how to please a man and understand you. If they are an adamant no, I cut them loose and keep those that are open to romance or who say they will kiss and experiment for chemisty. Those ones are the ones I score with on a regular basis. They all ready think of you as a boyfriend and they are excited to see you and they are hugging you and kissing you later that day if not at the moment. I always say I want a big hug and kiss the first time we meet. Take them out: go dancing and drinking with her the first night and unless you blow it by being a drunken as.ho.e, you will score 90Percent on the first date. Normal dominicanas with some alchohol in them are very horny, those who have experience in the DR know this. The hard part of all of this, is working the women around each other. By the way, before you meet them, send a photo of yourself and request a recent one of them as well because that way the girl will know what you look like and vice versus. If they want a relationship of any type after seeing your photo and keep writing, you almost surely will score but if you don't send photo, you can meet them and out of politeness they will go out on date with you, you will waste your money and time and get nothing. I don't know if this will help anyone out but it has worked wonderfully for me.

Thanks for the detailed information Wolverine7l. While even a rookie is capable of meeting some chicas on their first trip to DR, the path you suggested at least possibly leads one in the direction of meeting so called normal girls. However, I'm not sure it will help very much with those who have limited spanish as you suggested. Still for someone without any connections, its an option. Anyone else have proven ways of meeting normal chicas?

(BTW - I agree that Joha.jpg was Hot!)

Hi fellow mongers,

New to the board as a poster, however I have been a reader/lurker for well over a year now. In fact due to the great reports I read here, I made a trip to DR (Punta Cana) last December. I intend to maybe comeback again this December and visit Sosua this time around. I am currently planning a trip to BA Argentina for early November. My other travels include Thailand and Amsterdam.

If any one is interested in a good deal on airfare in the next 4-5 months I may be able to help you out. I have lots of miles banked that I need to get rid of before I lose them.

I look forward to seeing some of you in December and you can trust that I will have some good updates in the Argentina section once I get there.

For those interested in air fare deals...you can reach me via a private message using the WSG Forum's Private Messaging system.

I am still dreaming of my chica from last year that I took from La Punta in Bavaro (Punta Cana). Julia was her name, 19 and HARD body! And very willing! It was one hell of a TLN!

Cheers!

Greetings gentlemen :)

Thank you very much for the valuable information about the DR. I greatly appreciate it.

I will fly to Santo Domingo and stay there for four days. If anyone else lives there, we can meet up and "explore" the country. :) You hook me up with a GFE type girl, I will buy you food and beer. :)

I read all the posts under the Santo Domingo section (only the posts Jan 2003 until the present).

I found a few hotels. Please tell me which one is the best.

In terms of cbeing clean, chica friendly, price wise, the surrounding areas (whether or not they have a lot of places to find chicas).

1. La Casona Dorada

2. Babylon Resorts (Someone named JimHart69 recommended this place and since they also have tours for the tourist).

3. Hotel Sajoma (Ventana Rio Lindo). Is this located in Santo Domingo?

4. Hotel Naco, El Palacio

5. Mercure Hotel (El Conde District)

6. Hotel Palaciao in Congesso.

My first choice is Babylon Resorts. Jim said to mention him to the owner and they will treat us well. Thanx Jim :)

Do you guys all agree that I should go with Babylon Resorts? Babylon is Chica friendly and is close from the casino right?

Sorry for the many questions, again, if any of you are in that area, let me know and we can meet up! :)

Sincerely,

New World Order

P.S. I will be there from Nov 1 until Nov. 4.

This website is helpful for those with limited Spanish because you can search for girls that put down that they speak English. Usually it isn't the best English but at least you can communicate. You can also get a tour guide/lover out of the deal and she will make sure you aren't ripped off because in her mind you are her man and she will be of good assistance. You will be surprised on how much cheaper things are and what the DR has for tourism. The botanical gardens, Diego Columbus' home, the oldest Catholic Cathedral in North America, museums, etc.

Joha is named Johanny and I corresponded and met/dated her in Santo Domingo and goes to University there. I have her number but she is very mad at me though I treated her well but I met her on Amigos.com and if she is still on there, don't mention me, or you will probably get nowhere. I had to block her off my email address, etc. Dominicanas get pissed off when they are scorned. She is normal girl, all girls pictured are all normal girls, no semi-pros/pros in the bunch. I only have one other photo of her that is about that size and fuzzy and is in similar pose.

Where should I go and stay. I would prefer somewhere/town near airport to optimize my time there, even if that means spending a few more pesos on chicas.

president dismisses threat of "unrest"

president hipolito mejia gave a rep001hing reaction to the warnings of the president of the dominican american chamber of commerce, jorge ivan ramirez, who said that the current economic troubles will lead to social unrest. "look at me - i am shaking!" said mejia when questioned on the matter by a tv reporter. ramirez, who is also the president of codetel, had described the crisis as the most serious the country had ever experienced and said that if the government does not start to manage the situation "in a more disciplined and equitable manner", the country's social order and political legitimacy will quickly break down.

Mav will be opening an internet cafe in Sosua shortly. With in that Cafe I will be setting up the onsite WSG charities field office. If you want to donate money, we will show you how via PayPal, unless you already know how. If you have old toys, clothing that you want to donate or school supplies just drop them off as well.

If you would like to donate some time stop by. There are a few ex pats that have cars so we will be able to locate the needy. There are millions of them here. Its SAD!

He will have discount cards on sale (Discount cards for internet use) as well and all WSG members get 10 percent off at his 2 bars. His bar is in The Blue Dolphin and his beach bar is #10.

This field office will also be a member center so stop by, call home or check your e mails!!!!

Hi all,

Am looking at visiting the Dominican Republic April 19-24/25. I have heard differing opinions about where to stay. I can get cheaper tickets to Santiago, is Puerto Plata better. I am looking for a good hotel that wont give hassels with taking local girls there but is not a dump.

Thanks for any help

Hey Woobie, Dirtmonger,

You might want to try a place like this, it not a dump & its in a guarded community in Sousa. But if its your first time there you might want to try places like Sousa Palace & Blue Dolphin, there right in the middle of town & easy to get around. No need to rent a car for those places, Casa Linda, to get the true feeling, you'll need a car.

Quick recommendation:

Took One Tree Hill up on his offer for providing discounted airfare to the DR. My itinerary being ATL-MIA-SDQ, returning POP-MIA-ATL, since I was planning on hitting both SD and Sosua/POP area.

AA published fare, including AAAdvantage discounts, was approx. $500 for my planned itinerary.

One Tree Hill got it for me at $362 including taxes, leaving me with approx. $140 more to play with in DR.

He has promotional airfare deals on AA thru 04/17/04. I'd recommend you try him before booking your flights. Your trip origin doesn't matter. He can undercut published air rates, and he's not a travel agent, just one of us. It's a little suspect-sounding and requires a bit of trust, but he's a stand-up dude and dealt respectably with me and my info.

Any further info needed. PM me.

Hi all!

I was wondering just what the Dominican Republic was like in the PFP area. How safe it is, what the best area to live in would be, if the Hotels are Chica-friendly, whether to rent a villa or hotel room?

I am more into the rent-a-girlfriend experience, someone who would spent a couple of days with me, show me the Island, etc. I like Spanish women and can speak some Spanish.

Strangely enough, Ive been to Puerto Rico about half a dozen times but never the Dominican Republic. With a per capita income about one quarter of Puerto Rico's, it must be pretty poor.

In any case, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My last report on any adult sites and a lesson to be learnt. I have kept quiet about a problem I have encountered and am trying to get all my posts/pics etc deleted from all sites I am a member of due to JDR asking me in a message why I was leaving some sites. Don't always trust mongers you meet in another country. Last trip in the DR spent time with a monger from California for a few days and no problems there but later was spending time with my baby's mom in the DR and met a couple of lurkers from New York or New Jersey, one could have been from Ny and other from nj, my last full night in the DR, and I helped them out a little with info and gave them some numbers of girls that were free lancers/semi pros. Then the day I left to go back to the US, they went to my hotel room (Los Pinos because I flew into Santo Domingo) where my baby son and his mom were staying for that night to see my off on my flight and the next morning have a 4 hour bus ride back home to Santiago province, anyways they propositioned her, she refused because she isn't no damn pro and then in retaliation said I told them she was a prostitute and told them I was a member of various sites. When back in the US she called me very upset about the encounter, I was mad but denied being on any boards, and now 3 months later and less than a week ago, due to them telling her I was on adult sites as a monger, she and a friend who reads good english pieced together my posts, they verified it was me by reading my posts, the lurkers told her what it was in September but she forgot in the moment and her English is very limited. This is the only son I will ever be able to have and thanks for you two fucking lurkers who have severely strained our relationship. I assume they had read my posts on this site but they told me on a couple of sites, and if you two as.holes are reading this, come forward so people can know what kind of backstabbing creeps you are. People please don't email me for info because I am done on these sites and won't respond. I posted a few days back and gave the reasons as people paying crazy prices in Sosua section for leaving, tired of giving info to newbies who don't listen and going to further explore Guatemala but those weren't the real reasons, because I didn't want to tell the real reason why. If Jackson emails me or contacts me with permission I will post a photo of one of those bastards taken with me in BC and the other bastard took the photo of us together but I don't want to be sued or make Jackson pissed off. From now on I won't trust anyone, won't post, and I have come clean with her as of two days ago, and she will probably read this but at least she will know I am done with these boards because family is overall more important to me. Por mi angel Yesenia, lo siento, te amo y nuestro bebe.

Wolverine7l,

Do post their pictures and their user names on this website. Jackson, please at minimum ban these assholes from this site. I am very sorry Wolverine7l for what you are going thru. I too have a son with another woman (She is American) that will not let me see my son. She claims that he is not my son, but the kid is my clone. He is 100% me. But his mother will not put me in the birth certificate or let me in his life because I marry my ex-wives over her 16 years ago. My son is 16 years olds, I have met him and we have talk. He is a great kid and he even admits that I must be his father. When he turns 18 he will have the DNA test with me and if comes back positive. He will personally add me to the birth certificate saying that I am his father. But I am still [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) that for almost 15 years of my son life I have not been able to be in it because of what someone did to me back 16 years ago. How my son got conceive I will tell another day. That itself will show to what extent women will go to get even with someone.

But Wolverine7l do not give up in trying to get your son, because he is the only thing that will say you were on this Planet.

Sorry, If I have ramble to much.

I have done so for years. Last year the US immigration booth at Miami airport said I could no longer do so after Jan 1, 03 but I kept on doing so and no problems. That way my passport does not get too full of stamps and there is less hassle by them noting that I travel alot to other countries.

Viagra DR price average is about 1100 pesos or $6 per pill. Also, you can ask for generic which is about $2 per pill.

Cialis - If anyone has used would appreciate a comparison to V. Do you take one pill note if 10 or 20? Does it work for 24 hours, 2 days etc.

Appreciate the input.

I just purchased 10 (20 mg) cialis from prescriptionkeywest.com for 14.30 per pill (including shipping). The recommended dosage esp. starting out is 10mg so I figure I will try 1/2 or maybe even 1/3 and see how it goes. I will give a report on how it works next week. I will be hitting the DR wednesday. This website is great though and I have used them before for vigara. They shipped o/n.

I assume the earlier post regarding Viagra price in DR was a typo, at 1100 pesos a pill. You can get it for less than 300 pesos in selected pharmacies, best prices on the other side of the bridge, away from tourist areas of Gazcue, Colonial Zone etc.

Gentlemen,

I have been reading WSG for years and what I learned here was of great help when I planned my trip to Amsterdam! Now that have saved some fun money, I am thinking about a 7 day trip to a new place around Mar 27 - Apr 5. I liked being able to easily locate the girls in AMS, but thought they were overpriced and 15 minutes wasn't nearly enough time.

I've thought about Thailand, but girls from the Caribbean and South America are looking hot! Thank for posting the pictures by the way.

My question is where do you think would be the best place to go? I've read many postings and I've changed my mind about where to go at least 10 times! Does anyone have a good comparsion of each major place? Also, if I chose DR, what city would be the best. I want easy access to a lot of hot women and of course would like good prices on everything (sex, hotel, food, etc). I'd like ST, LT, BBBJ, and anal might be nice too. What do you think? Feel free to PM me.

Thank you,

Nefarious

From what most people are saying, Sousa seems like the best palce to go in the DR. Would anyone agree or disagree with that?

Also, through a Google search, I found a place online with plenty of pictures of Sousa Beach. This looks like such a beautiful place!

Any last minute suggestions? I am making my reservations soon!

Thanks,

I have been to many destinations. Brazil and Thailand top the list. The girls and atmosphere in Thailand is unique and in my opinion the best experience if you like asian women. But the plane ride is torture! Brazil to is great the women better looking and better at sex. It is a little more expensive then Thailand and the airplane is long but doable. Either Brazil or Thailand require an extended stay. But in my opinion the DR is spectacular! About a 3 hour plane ride. Women are beautiful with all flavors. I love it because it is a long weekend trip. The women of Santo Domingo are the pretties I think. If you want the true monger experience Sosua gives you the beach and other mongers to hang out with. And I thin Boca Chica is making a comeback. A site you may want to loook at is mygirlfriendexperience.com it gives updated information on all major destinations. I like it because it is current all the time.

Sosua is NOT the best place in the Dominican Republic.

I'd rather stay in the capital. There's more variety and there's more places to go things to do. Also it's up to you really whether you will have fun or not. Because you can have fun almost in any place of the island (Yes even Haiti).

Sosua just makes it easier to find working girs since it's gotten the rep of being a meat market. But you can find way more girls in the capital.

Go to Remington Palace and ask for Kathy, she has one of the nicest asses I have ever seen. But go early else she will be gone by the time you get there.

NEF: You can't go wrong in Thailand even on a bad day if you can handle the 20+ hour flight and if you fancy the Asian look. I really don't know how anything could be better than the land of smiles. But having said that, I too am just beginning to look at DR. I've never been so can't compare. I like the consistantly larger breast sizes of the DR girls, the fact that they do all-nighters like Thailand, the prices are still reasonable, the shorter flight, and the fact that one of my favorite alltime experiences was with a DR girl in Costa Rica. I had intended to check the postings of regulars in the DR section BUT

*******, has 1450 postings! How can a guy possibly go through that much material to see if he has ever been to Thailand??? So I'm just going to post the question to you. I to am wondering what the comparison is between DR and Thai experience? You seem to be the expert on DR. I enjoy the $ value and relaxed yet in your face mongering of the Thai sceen. Everything is so easy and in-expensive there and the selection is virtually endless. There are a few reading these pages wanting a comparison. ALSO, I know I speak for everyone when I say "Hell yes keep the pix coming buddy" they are great! Thanks for your numerous reports as well. WL

Wanderlust,

I have been to both several times. What you stated about LOS is absolutly true. Thailand is the best because of the sex scene being "the scene" and the variety. But I find the different types of girls and larger breasts and asses very appealing. Add in a 3 hour flight plus change from the east coast and DR equals LOS. I preferr a shorter 3 to 4 day trip 4 to 6 times a year to the anual or twice a year trip to LOS. The beaches are much better in DR then LOS and the weather is better; not quite as hot. Plus each destination in DR offers a little different scene. Try it though it is not the same it is just as wonderful.

Mongering destinations compared using a baseball analogy:

Dominican Republic is Double A Ball. Lots of beauty women & relatively in expensive & lets not forget 3 to 5 hrs away from most places. Some crime, but what can you expect, its a poor country.

Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela are Triple A Ball. Soooo many sexy women, but about 8 hrs away and more expensive, makes it hard for a quick weekend trip. Crime level is higher than DR.

Asia, the Philippines, and Europe, are Major Leagues. Cannot enjoy either of these destinations on a quick weekend getaway. The possibilities are endless, need lots of time and money, a short trip would just be a tease.

This is short but sweet, left out alot of places, but this is only a comparsion from places I've been, cannot comment on others.

Estoy Negro, Thank you both. I've got to wholeheartedly agree with the girls being much hotter in my opinion. I am totally in love with the big breast/round ass thing. Not much of that in Asia. What I mainly use as criteria is price. Girls and hotels/food are cheap in Thailand just as they should be in a 3rd world country. Contrarily I've had girls in the USA consistently less expensive than all the latin countries I've been to so far. That is not good. Same for Lodging in most of the countries. I can get the prices for girls from the posts, but it's alittle more difficult to compare hotel prices becuase one can't check the room out for comparisons. Can you guys compare for me Thai hotel price with DR price for comparable room accomodations. I tend to stay in 3 star type places. OH!, Is there good River fishing there? Inland fishing trips? Thanks, WL

Hotels:

I usually stay in 3 to 4 stars. I find the hotel situation in DR to be 2 discussions. SD it will run you about 50 a night for what you are looking for. I have found the hotels listed in the section to be fine. So rooms will be about 15 to 20 dollars a night more than LOS. In Sosua the rooms you get are a little worse for the same price if guest friendly, but the "scene" is more wide open like LOS (but the girls are prettier in SD).

If you like the baseball analogy I think Brazil and LOS are the major leagues just one has the DH and the other doesnt LOL. The DR is in my opinion Triple A especially with the peso where it is. Plus it is so diverse from SD to Boca to Sosua to Santiago each is a little different. Like I said before checkout mygirlfriendexperience.com.

Just a suggestion. Get an email account, something thru Yahoo or MSN, and when you ar down there get them to get and email account too, so that 1) You don't have to give them a phone number, 2) You don't have to spend money calling. 3) You don't have them able to ask you for a cell so you can "call them anytime you want".

IMHO, most of them don't read English! Though maybe it's possible that this website is available in spanish. Also, I don't know of any cyber cafes that charge only 50 cents us per hour! I'd like to know where these are located at?! Plus, of the 50 plus girls I met on my forrays to the north and south coasts, only 2 were amenable to giving an email address in addition to their phone#! Unfortunately, electronic communication has not been embraced by many of them yet. Finally, I use a Florida Green Card and Merengue card to call the ladies in the DR. It's free for them to receive calls no matter what type of phone they're using in the DR. The phone cards that I use here in South Florida have no connection fees, except when using a pay phone, and rates at under 5 cents per minute!

After 5 trips I have found very few girls who know how to use a computer (all that do access the internet via a spanish language isp) and none that have ever heard of the wsg. On my last trip I asked a girl for her email address on the computer for her correo electronico - and she said "Now, what's a computer again?"

Wow, never thought they would be able to get over on you guys so easily. Not even sure how to start debunk some of the stuff you guys have claimed here.

1) You could have 100 trips to the Dominican Republic, and yet I am Dominican, so which one do you think knows the country better?

2) Cyber cafe's are all over the place, hell when I was coming back on Feb 19, I spent 2 hours at the Santo Domingo airport(SDQ) and there's a cyber cafe there. $25 pesos per hour. At the time the Dollar was about $45 Pesos to $1 USD.

3) Women down there won't want you to know they know more than you think they know. Sometimes they do just to guide you around by the nose. but overall they like the power of you under estimating them.

4) So much so do you guys underestimate them that I'll give you an example. Some of you claim that they don't know english. Guess what one of them showed me around Januarya 15, 2004?

While not a perfect translation. It does give them an idea of what you are writing about them.

Also. Thre's another thread on this board about how one of the guys got a call from the girl he wrote about in here.

And as a last nail, If they didn't know about computers and the internet, wouldn't it be easier for you to post photos of them? But they tend not to like people taking their photos because their friends and their families might see them.

Oh and in case you think I am just talking out of my ass:

Notice how there's more internet users than cell phones?

The Dominican Republic has so many internet users that they are ranked 78 out of 203 countries.

But you keep under estimating them.

I keep more informed about DR than people who just show up to monger. I still have family down there. I can tell you that many of you don't know alot about the country that would make life a hell of a lot easier for you. Me I have a business card from my uncle with his cell phone and home number. I show it to any officer be it police or military and they salute me and walk away. Never have my bags open at airport either. (Helps my uncle is a 2 star general).

A Monger dictionary [:-)))]...

You know, I've actually been thinking about a "multilingual" (no pun intended, or maybe so) monger dictionary for a while now. And while my professional line of work would make me supremely qualified to do so (linguistics and translation) in addition to my "field research", it's the same job responsibilities that unfortunately keep me so busy that I never seem to have the time to get down and just do it. But I promise, whenever I get a free moment, I'll put my (cunni)linguist skills to work for all you guys benefits, finally. After all, can't even remember how many girls have asked me to translate their negotiations with potential clients, once they figured out what I do for a living. I am serious.

Note to Jackson: how about a language section for sex-related terms on this site? After all, sex is multi-language. Just an idea.

Video Quality

Well it really depends on your taste.

If its your first time in DR and don't have friends that have been there a couple of time and know there way around, then first stop should be Sousa
(POP airport) and then work your way away from Sousa.

Without a doubt, I think Santiago is a video choice.

A couple of things, must know spanish, in Puerta Plata & Sousa, some women speak some english & willing to help. Santiago is a city, much bigger which translates into more women, clubs like Illusion, Casa Blanca & Passions are really nice, but spanish is a must. Also having a car is the way to go in Santiago, POP & Sousa you can get away without it. The further you get away from tourist areas, the women are sweeter & non americanized, you can get away with murder if your half way fluent.

Cannot comment on Santa Domingo, going there on march 26 for the first time.

McNasty,

You have asked a question to which they may be many answers. But in my opinion and many trips the best looking girls are in Santo Domingo. The city has the most variety and ranges from the darkest to lightest girls and of course lots to choose from.

Mr. Particular
03-13-04, 13:51
Lots of queries about where the best looking women are in the Dominican Republic. I have my own personal favorite little out-of-the-way towns in the country, but generally the best melting pot is without a doubt Santo Domingo. And I will explain why. In this country, the goal of most young people is to move from the country to Santo Domingo. They think this is where they will find a better life. The Dominican Republic is a backward place. Outside the bigger cities such as Santo Domingo and Santiago, and away from what I like to call tourist areas, is without a doubt some of the most beautiful country you can imagine. In United States, for example, obviously a more advanced country, the people have recognized the value to peace and quiet and beauty away from big metropolitan centres. Just the opposite here, they don't get it. So what you get is a mass exodus of girls from all over the country heading to Santo Domingo. Name a place: Mao, Moca, Jarabacoa, Santiago, Higuey, Cotui, Azua, Bani, Barahona, San Francisco, San Juan etc, etc, etc. You will run into them in Santo Domingo. They are everywhere.

Hope this helps.

They have a saying in Dominican Republic.

"La Capital es capital, y todo lo otro es monte."

Means: "The capital is the capital, everything esle is boondocks"

So yeah the goal of everyone is to go to the capital and either make money to move back home or move to the capital to live.

For yoru first time I would recomend people go to the capital.

After that, travel around the Island.

$40 million US Dollars to be disbursed tomorrow

There should be many dollars circulating on the foreign exchange market as of tomorrow, when the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) has planned to disburse a first US$40-million installment of assistance being offered to the country. According to a report in El Caribe, Technical Secretary to the Presidency Carlos Desprael said that the new IDB loan would help stabilize the exchange rate. The IMF had set a rate of US$40 to RD$1 for its stabilization program, but this has not been achieved, with the peso closer to the US$46-to-RD$1 level yesterday.

.......It looks like with the election only 6 weeks away Mejia is once again trying to shore up the currency. See if it works this time - I wouldn't bet on it. With national instability leading up to the May 16th vote I wouldn't be surprised if we see 50 RDP to 1 again real soon. Just my opinion.

Gadey,

There are a few places that have lapdances in Santo Domingo:

Jazzys: Strip club with some nice looking women. They have lapdances, VIP and also take out service etc. I believe a basic lap dance is about 250 pesos, but it has been a while.

Sutra: Venezuelan dancers. Lapdances in VIP room but I beliee minimal contact and no take out.

Both of these clubs are on the other side of the bridge. Jazzys is on aenida espana and sutra is across from eagles on san isidro.

Monaco: Not as nice as the two above clubs, can find some diamonds in the rough though. Not sure of prices for LDs.

Doll House mostly less attractive dancers from Canada and FSU, Dominicans like it as to them Canadian chicks are "exotic" not recommended unless you did bleach blondes with bolt ons etc.

Both Monaco and Doll house are on the Malecon. Monaco is just past the colonial zone on the right hand side, and doll house is further down past vvesuvio etc.

Perhaps, but I have questions at times that I can't get a definitive answer to. For example..Gpiper can quote us $1500rd fs take out, but another poster will swear that he had to pay $100us. I am not disbelieving Gpiper, but after a few posts of conflicting prices, mongers start to wonder, and then the questions arrive on this forum.

I can negotiate on my own easily, but I will admit that the prices one reads here seem to stray wildly from the prices one gets quoted in the "real world" of SD.

RW,

Keep in mind that a Dominican girl working as a checkout clerk in a grocery store, earns on the order of $160 US per MONTH working full time. While 1500RD (~$35) sounds like a great deal for an American tourist for FS, to a Dominican woman earning this amount in a few hours is an unbelievable amount of money. On the other hand, some tourists thinking in terms of their home country, could easily be enticed to pay$100US or more for the same service.

There is an absurd amount of variability in prices in this market. My hunch is that there are deals consummated for prices ranging from less than $5 to more than $200 for the exact same service. It's all a matter of timing, negotiating skills, desperation, luck, etc. Remember this is not a highly organized, competitive market with thin bid-ask spreads like one finds in the trading pits of Chicago.

A buddy of mine and I are planning a trip towards the end of June. Although I have a passport, my friend does not.

Has anyone recently traveled using only a drivers license and birth certificate run into any problems?

It is too bad that you doubt me! I don't know what else to tell you that I haven't already posted here the past few months. I didn't make up any of my posts. I often negotiated 1,500 pesos for minimum 3 hr. fs take out during my trip to SD last Nov. - Dec., at almost every place that I went! And I went to many locations in SD! Some MP's I negotiated as low as 900 pesos for fs outcall for multiple hours and pops! I don't think I engaged in any great negotiatng tactics; as a few times I went to some places with 2 fellow wsg members who negotiated the same rate as I did! As a matter of fact, if I had gone with a highly experienced monger like *******, I'd bet he would get an even lower rate then I usually got! Anyway, on my next trip which will happen hopefully some time this year, if you happen to be in SD at the same time, I''ll be more than happy to show around for free and try to help negotiate a similar price for you! Just know I can't promise that the prices will be the same as they were when I last went. As you know market prices can be affected by external factors!

R.W. I read your remarks and I'm following your logic to a point but, if you doubt the veracity of some of the posts on this board than what is the point of the additional questions? What will they accomplish? If Gpiper says he paid 1500 pesos ($34) and another poster said he paid $100 then you can deduce that with tireless, persistent negotiating you can get the price down to $34 as well.

This is what I would conclude from this.

It was 1500 pesos for the night during Jan-Feb for me too.

I went to Tabu, Lapsus, Remington Palace, Casa modelos, Casa Theresa, Denoche and Monaco and none of those laces ever charged me mroe than 1500 pesos for the night... everythign was below that.. and I really doubt that by March/April the price has gone up to $100 USD.

You are getting scammed if you spend that much.

Cops don't make $8000 a month as their base salary. Hell even private school teachers barelly make that.

So for you to pay some girl $4000 for 4-6 hours, well thats crazy.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to offend anyone here about their veracity or negotiating skills.

I guess I should have more carefully phrased my pricing comments. I don't doubt Gpiper's pricing reports, with his wealth of experience, and I also know that I will use those price points aggressively when I return to SD in late May. I just found it interesting that the MP girl's in SD, who undeniably are of superior quality compared to BC girls, could be had for little more than their BC counterparts. The SD quotes started out very high in comparison to BC, and I would have thought that the common ground would be significantly different. Perhaps i am giving too much importance to the quality of the girl, ie avg. girl = avg.money/hot girl = more money, as opposed to the economic reality of the business.

I suppose that familiarity with the girls or the management of a place can play into the pricing, along with the determination of the buyer. Sounds a lot like buying a used vehicle.....

Gpiper. thanks for the kind offer, if our paths cross I will take you up on that, cervesa's on me.

I find that I can get most for $60-$70 range.

This is what I would conclude from this.

Had to smile about that one, because in a way, that's exactly what you're buying. Still, the combination of the words "used" and "vehicle" in this context is just priceless, IMHO [:-))))].

Gents,

I am thinking about making my first trip to the DR. I am a vet of Colombia and love it there, but all of the postings here have got me thinking I might be up for a change of pace. I am looking at a possible trip the second week of May and have no idea which of the areas would be best (STO Domingo, Sosua, etc). Also, any tips on cheap fares to get down there?

Thanks,

Teamguy,

If you have never been to the Dominican Republic, I recommend starting out with Sosua. You can walk to almost anywhere you need to go, otherwise consider a motoconch for 20 pesos (about .50¢ US). The Palace is a good stay, clean with available chicas right outside your room. The owner, John, is also very accomodating with knowledge about the area and the game. There are more than enough chicas to go around in Sosua and if you're in the right place at the right time, you just might find a really hot one.

Here is some other worthy advice you might find helpful.

Arriving at the airport: Chances are, they’ll try to shake you down for a few dollars. Bring a US $5.00 bill or two with you and you’ll be set. When you take your bags through customs, just as the guy was about to search my bags he mentioned that they could easily pass for $5.00 so I was ok with it just to move on through, no sense in having someone ruffle through my things. Not that I had anything to hide. Do yourself a favor, grab your own bags from the customs table and carry them out yourself otherwise you’ll have a local looking for a handout. Jesus picked us up from the airport, holding a Sosua Palace sign out in front. $15 a carload is the going rate with was fine with me, especially split among 3 guys.

Exchanging money: Super Super Liquors, just a few blocks past Europa on the corner. Good rates and the gentlemen speaks English. On Wednesday the exchange was 48:1 and on Friday it was 42:1 Note: You're better off exchanging money during the week as the rates tend to go down on the weekend.

Eating on a daily basis: Mora Mai, the Lobster Fra Diavlo is amazing and Alex (owner's wife) is a beautiful host. Simply said, I wouldnt eat anywhere else! I'd rather spend my time enjoying my vacation than possibly getting sick eating something that wasnt prepared adequately. Although a few of the boys from Jersey on the second floor enjoyed the chicken from the stand on the corner of the block.

Bottled water: Don’t drink the tap water or you’ll spend your vacation in the bathroom! When you exchange money, do yourself a favor and buy several bottles for your refridgerator.

Sosua Beach: Just a bit past "The Lost Gringo Bar" you'll find "Lobo" (a local) renting chairs, tables, umbrellas and more. Take care of him and he'll take care of you! If you go into the water, he'll look over your stuff as well so you dont have to worry about it.

Needs at the Palace: You can purchase cold "Presidentes" right at the Palace for $1.00 US each, delivered right to your refrigerator. You'll find two locals, who will get you just about anything you need, from food to liquor. Take care of them and they'll do anything for you, they can be trusted as well. Otherwise you wouldnt find them around the Palace.

Traveling on a motoconch in Sosua: 20 pesos, no more!

I disagree with paying DR customs agents money not to search your bags. You are just fueling their corrupt illegal scam and giving them that much more reason to continue. Its just like giving money to beggars. The word gets out that the white man with pesos is feeling sorry for them and before you know it the street is covered with them. If the bums are not successful begging, they will move on. You can call me cold hearted, but it is proven that giving panhandlers money is a very selfish act of the contributor because they think they are doing good, but they are just trying to make themselves feel better. Sort of like sinning and then going to confession.

That link is great! Top rate info on the hows and whys of our "craft". And so many of the points rang true. Some things apparently never change.

BTW,I have never had DR customs even touch my bags on my trips, let alone ask for money. This has been at SDQ ,however.

With regards to Bill's comments regarding customs extorting money.

I'm planning a trip for June. Being a Black man from America, does that mean there's less of a chance that they would try to get money from me? I will refuse to pay if they try. They can search me all day if they want. I'm curious to hear from the other Black guys on this board what their experiences have been when dealing with customs.

I was asked for money from a customs agent during Christmas 2003 in Santo Domingo airport. I told him I paid for the tourist card I am not paying again, plus my spanish is limited. He let me go.

I was driving in SD during February and was extorted by a policeman for the old not wearing my seat belt and running a red light trick. He wanted 5,000 pesos. I talked him down to 100 pesos and 7us dollars. I was not going to give a crooked cop all my money. I had about a few hundred dollars on me. I am a black man from NYC. Crocked cops don't scare me.

Good looking on the advice and the website. I travel to DR often and this is good info one can't do without. I will use it like a29th. I got a few numbers and there is always holly roller uses the bible. I already dated a chick that tried to rob me and run, since I questioned her every crisis and strange movement she bolted. You live and learn.
I will be in DR from April 22nd-29th. I will try to explore Santiago.

Very few of those guys speak english. I have never been stopped. A good rule of thumb is to walk up and say" high", with a smile. If he asks something in spanish, just say "I don't speak spanish".

If you are bringing in alot of things you will notice that there are always a couple of guys standing around just as you enter customs. There looking for money to get you through quick! I learned this from an exgirlfriend, never had o use them.

Hey fellas,

I need a favor if possible. I want to know if any of the New York area mongers who are traveling down to DR can bring back a bottle of the brugal "Unico" or the "Siglio de Oro" I will pay you for the effort. The price when I was there just 2 weeks ago was about 13USD equivalent in pescos for the "Siglio de Oro" and about 38USD equivalent for the "Unico". I will probably make a trip in about a month on my own but if I can get it sooner the better. I will give you 30USD and 70USD respectivly for the bottles because you simply can not find those particular bottles anywhere in the U.S.A. I hope I am not breaking any rules by asking for someone to bring back a bottle of liquor and if I am I am sorry.

If not, I am sure we can work something out etc.

i didn't pay a dime. here is the trick. tell them that paying a "fine" in the street doesn't sound right to you.

you would like to go to the us consulate to ask your brother who works there. . . .

they get pissed and leave you alone. i am 3 for 3 with that!

The "siglo de oro" was around 500 pecos and the "unico" was 1600. Right in the Brugal store on jfk blvd in S.D. and the peco was trading at 43 at the time, so check the math and I think you will see I am right.

I flew into POP last week and a custom agent asked me for money. I pulled out my trump card, ie my diplomatic passport (I work for my Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and the agent apologized and waved me through. I am not supposed to use my diplomatic passport on private trips but I take it with me just for those cases (and to avoid paying the departure tax).

But the other trick that works everytime (at least it has for me), for both police officers and crooked cab drivers, is this. Before you go to any of those developing countries, try to find out the name of the head of the national police (the name of the Ministry of the Interior is too public and too obvious) that you can usually find on the internet. If anyone tries to mess with you, just say, if possible in the local language, that Mr XXX, that you last met only two days ago, would not be pleased if he knew what was happening.

I tried this last in Moldova some three weeks ago and already used it several times in the Middle East, Russia and Central America, and I can tell you that the result is immediate. The cab driver quotes you a decent price immediately and the police officers just lets you go.

I'm planing a trip to the DR soon and as part of this "well-planed" trip I want to know a few things regarding., read along :). My trip is split between getting Pros and Non-pros.

(The plan)

I would say I'm about an average looking 25yr lightskin black-american guy and would pass for P-rican or even DR as a matter of fact. I have made friends with about 5 girls so far from a friendship/dating website I found. Some of the girls are o my MSN and we occationally chat and goof around. One of the girl strips for me on her web-cam often, she is 19 years old. Hmm, I wonder if she is not pimpin' herself at the side to pay for her home internet service. But again she claims she goes to university and even should me their school's website. Who knows if she is B-Sing. This leed me to thinking and regarding the whole "Transportation" question. my plan is to cruise aroung the campuses of UNIBE and other less expensive schools in a sport motor-bike. I'm thinking of buying the sport motobike in DR since I will be spending time there soon and in the future. Or should I invest in a car ? - Look at this way, a motorbike will get you imediate attention because of it's youthful appeal and colors. A car on the other hand will be more comfortable for the dating game and I can play my music loud enuff to get the attention. Fact is I know those DR girls are just like American girls when it comes to lifestyle, they wall want the so called "hot guy" , it's a worldwide epedemic ...lol... and I'm planing on playing that role there. I'm from the eastcoast and maybe I'm being bias about this whole MTV culture.

(The Question)

Will it be better to buy a car, rent a car, buy a motorbike ? ( NOT rent )

(1) Buy a car
(2) Rent a car
(3) Buy a morobike

General question :

What are the custom laws regarding shiping of a CAR or a MOTORBIKE ?

Thanks

Dotado

1) Car>Motorcycle but SUV >all. Get a diesel vehicle.

2) Shipping a vehicle to DR coulr turn very expensive because customs is crooked, have you seen the postings about the shake downs at the airport? Now imagine if they had your car there and they had power about letitng you have it or not?

3) There's a limit as to how old a vehicle could be before they let you ship it.

4) Where would you store it when you went back to the states? How long or how often would you go back?

I would recomend you rent a car the first time you go.

That way you could use Cabanas. It's what my brother does. He gets into his car, then goes to visit my aunt, drops part of his clothes, and puts some in the trunk. Then goes and sees my aunt when he needs fresh clothes. Rest of the time he stays and sleeps in Cabanas. They are cheaper than having to stay at a hotel. And there is no problem about hotels allowing or not allowing women in.

Just a little thought about those thinking about moving to the DR. 1 bedroom condos around Puerto Plata /Sosua etc can be purchased for about 20,000US with a maintenance fee of less than 30US a month. You can also buy modest apartments in/near Santo Domingo for about the same price. If thinking about living near Santo Domingo a very inexpensive area is the Oriental Zone which is only about 15 minutes from Boca Chica. I have personally looked at 2 bedroom apartments for rent for about 200US a month and for sale for about 15,000US. There are also financial houses offering great rates of interest on US dollars and are reputable and much safer than banks. Depending on the amount of money placed there, you can achieve between 8-14percent compounded annually. Since this is a 3rd world country, never place all your eggs in one basket. I am planning to buy 3 condos, renting 2 out that are single bedroom/studio apartments, 1 2 bedroom condo for me, and having 60K invested in the DR and for safety about 10k left in the US. I plan on renting the condos out for between 200-250US a week and if they are rented out half the time, minus all fees (electricity, maintenance, etc) plus my interest on my money invested in the DR which will be about 600US monthly (7200USannually) I can survive modestly on a minimum of 1000US a month in the DR but desire to acheive about 1200-1400US a month in total profit. A family of 4 usually lives on less than 300US in the DR. Plus I still have to put a minimum of 300US in my IRA account at this time yearly, which will give me some extra money in about 25 years or so.

To Member #1553,

Someday I hope our paths cross and we meet. I would love to "pick your brain" as I too am planning to move to Latin America and quite possibly the "DR" someday. I now have only a three year time horizon left here in the U.S. If all goes according to plans I will be financially set and ready to bolt!

I priced the condominiums in the Campo Caribe resort in Sosua and Rino the manager is set on prices of $45,000 and up but long term rentals are possible for $350 per month for real stylish one -bedrooms in a "fairly" secure gated community. (plus the complex has an awesome pool!) He is greatly overpricing his new 2- bedrom "luxury" condominiums that are being built now at something like $96,000 usd.

John from the Palace is also a good contact on the north coast as he always seemingly has his "ears to the ground" looking for real estate development ideas and new purchases.

$200 per month for a 2-bedroom as you said is a great deal as long as its reasonably safe and secure. I agree with what I think was one of your posts a while back that said that the only people buying the Sosua/Cabarete luxury homes and townhomes at $250,000- $300,000 usd are rich and dopey (German?) tourists and are grossly overpaying!!
Cheers to all.

Here's something that was sent to me by a friend (thanks, Bill!), regarding child prostitution and sex tourism in the DR:

http://www.ecpat.net/eng/Ecpat_inter/Publication/Other/English/Pdf_page/ecpat_sex_tourism_dom_rebublic.pdf

Based on 1996 findings, it's a paper in a series of similar studies conducted in a number of different countries (Cuba, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Goa, South Africa, Thailand). In case you're interested in the other ones, here they are:

http://www.ecpat.net/eng/Ecpat_inter/IRC/ecpat_public.asp

I'll provide detailed comments about some of the facts claimed in this publication later on, so right now, I'll only say that much: according to the report, prostitution is illegal in DR. It is NOT - only pimping is. Here is Article 334 of the Codigo Penal (Criminal Code) of the Dominican Republic (available in Spanish at http://www.suprema.gov.do/codigos/codigos.asp), in the version in effect in 1996:

My translation:

"Art. 334 (modified pursuant to Law No. 4999, 1958). "Whoever is guilty of threatening morals by habitually promoting or facilitating the license or the corruption of young people of either sex who have yet to reach the age of eighteen years shall be punished by a correctional prison term between three months and one year, and a fine between ten and one hundred Pesos. In case prostitution was encouraged, promoted or provided by the parents, guardians or other persons in charge of the supervision or care of the injured party, the punishment shall be six months to two years of prison and a fine between twenty and two hundred pesos."

Says nothing about prostitution being illegal, IMHO.

Subsequently, this Paragraph was amended by Law 24-97 of 1997, as follows (info provided by a Dominican lawyer, Mr. Fabio M. Guzman: http://www.******************showthread.php?s=&threadid=15029):

”Será considerado proxeneta aquél o aquélla:

Primero: Que de cualquier manera ayuda, asista o encubra personas, hombres o mujeres con miras a la prostitución o al reclutamiento de personas con miras a la explotación sexual;
Segundo: El o la que del ejercicio de esa práctica reciba beneficios de la prostitución.
Tercero: El que relacionado con la prostitución no pueda justificar los recursos correspondientes a su tren de vida.
Cuarto: El o la que consienta a la prostitución de su pareja y obtenga beneficios de éllo;
Quinto: Que contrata, entrena o mantiene, aún con su consentimiento, una persona, ****** o mujer, aun mayor de edad, con miras a la prostitución, la entrega a la prostitución, o al desenfreno y relajación de las costumbres;
Sexto: Que hace oficio de intermediario, a cualquer título, entre las personas (hombres o mujeres) que se dedican a la prostitución o al relajamiento de las costumbres o los individuos que explotan o renumeran la prostitución y el relajamiento de las costumbres de otro;

Again, my translation:

”The following persons shall be deemed to be pimps:

One: whoever aids, assists, or conceals, in any manner whatsoever, any persons, whether men or women, for the purpose of prostitution or the recruitment of persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation;
Two: whoever receives benefits from prostitution as a result of such practice.
Three: whoever is involved in prostitution and is unable to justify the origin of funds based on his or her lifestyle.
Four: whoever consents to the prostitution of his or her partner and obtains benefits therefrom;
Five: whoever hires, trains or maintains, even with consent, any person, man or woman, even if major of age, for the purpose of prostitution, delivery to prostitution, or to disinhibit and loosen morals;
Six: whoever acts as an intermediary, regardless of in which capacity, between the persons (men or women) who dedicate themselves to prostitution or the loosening of morals or the individuals which exploit or remunerate prostitution and the loosing of the morals of others;
Seven: whoever, through threats, pressure or conspiring, or by any means, interferes with any prevention, assistance or reeducation measures undertaken by the qualified entities in favor of the persons (men or women) who dedicate themselves to prostitution or are at the risk of prostitution.

Pimping shall be punished with a prison term between six months and three years and a fine between fifty thousand and five hundred thousand pesos.”

Again, nothing indicates that prostitution in and by itself is illegal. Pimping is.

Hey Frank,

It all depends. My chicas and I prefer Orange. If most of your contacts down there have orange, then it is cheaper to call them from your Orange phone. I also like the idea of walking into the Orange store right on the main strip for service, etc.

Thank you Mister. I had some similar questions that you just answered. If in the States you have Cingular, call their customer service, and ask for an international tech. If you are all set up, you should be able to be activated in DR, they are a partner of Orange , I think.

Well with the election comming up this Sunday, May 16th it appears that current President Hipolito Mejia and his band of hoodlums are about to be run out of office!

The most recent gallup pole among likely voters has former President (PLD) canidate Leonel Fernandez leading (PRD) canidate President Mejia by 53.6% to 29.9%. If these percentages hold it will mean a first round victory for Fernandez, and a return to power for the PLD party!

I think it is strangely ironic that the much of the credit for Fernandez' strong showing in the polls can be directly attributed to his ability to draw a considerable percentage of the votes of the countries poor and lower class. It was this same group (the poor) that ran Fernandez out of office "on a rail" in 2000 if you all remember.

It is sad but the lower classes voted overwhelmingly for Mejia in 2000 to save them from Fernandez and now they are voting for Fernandez to save them from Mejia!!

I certainly hope we see a solid first-round victory a return to a degree of national stability and NO last minute suprises out of President Mejia. I believe that after the outcome of the election is decided the actual reigns of power are not turned over to the new regime until August 16th. (This should be a "pleasant" three months!)
Cheers,

Ford,

Thanks for the overall good political report. Only, as I recall, Fernandez did not run in 2000 (as he was forbidden from doing so by a law recently changed), but instead put up a croney who, indeed, lost to the bald one, Meija.

To Sexy Surfer,

Yes, you are correct! In the 2000 presidential election Leonel Fernandez was ineligible to run so the PLD party chose Secretary to the President Danilo Medina to head the ticket. I might have confused people by some of my choice of language.

Medina lost in a one-sided election 49.9% to 24.9% to current President Hippolito Mejia, and then withdrew prior to the run-off election. It was widely maintained that the vote was vote against Fernandez because Medina was his hand-picked successor. In reality it was in fact the PLD rather than Fernandez that was run out of office "on a rail" in 2000!
Cheers.

Hello All,

Today (05/16) I proposed a new section to this forum entitled "Living in The Dominican Republic". Below I attached a copy of the proposal that I placed under the forum section "Suggest New Topics Here". Anyone who thinks this is a good idea, I would appreciate it if you would also let your opinion be heard and send a mesage to Jackson seconding my idea.
Thank You.

***Hey Jackson,

I would like to propose a new section called "Living in the Dominican Republic"

You have sections called Living in Argentina, Living in Brazil and Living in Peru under the respective country boards and these sections have become quite popular, and have resulted in many informative discussions and spirited exchanges.

I think a section entitled "Living in the Dominican Republic" would be a good place to post information on house prices, new construction, long-term rentals/leases, monthly living expenses etc. and give those of us who have entertained the idea of moving to the DR an appropriate forum for the exchange of ideas and opinions.
Thank you.
Cheers,
FORD

Ford,

Great idea. Everytime i "go down there" , pun intended, that irrational thought crosses my mind. Might be a great reality check for mongers. I have had many people tell me ( ex pats) that unless you can live like a tourist, you might not want to move there. It can be difficult.

That link is to a yahoo article about how Medina already conceded that he lost.

In 2000 the PLD lost because 1) Leonel could not run and 2) Balaguer opposed the PLD candidate.

See Medina is a descendant of the Mirabal daughers which were killed unde the Trujillo government... and Balaguer was invlved int eh government.

Medina accused Balaguer of being partly responsible and Balaguer told him to go F himself, and put all his power into kicking the PLD party out.

Balaguer died a few years ago, and Leonel was the candidate this time, so thats the low down on DR politics.
