Just to kickstart the discussion: here's the report I put on the old forum a few months ago. Nothing really changed except that Liège is no longer available as a decent alternative (see Liège section of WSG):
I am a native of Antwerp and have been visiting the RLD for the last decades. Let me separate facts from fantasy, let me give you gentlemen a better grasp of reality: here are the facts:
-Fact #1: In order to work, a girl needs either a EU passport or a work permit. The City tells us *****mongers that this is to counter the Albanian pimps.
-Fact #2: The result is that the illegals or those on a tourist visum (as is often the case for Africans and Eastern Europeans) can no longer work.
-Fact #3: The Eastern and African girls were replaced by girls from Belgium and the neighbouring EU countries (Benelux, France, Germany; also some from Spain, Greece). Some are quite good. There are still quite some legal Africans and Eastern Europeans present (mainly Bulgarians).
-Bad news #1: The 25 euro "fuck and suck" days are gone - however, I personally always paid 50 euro upfront for extended service and I must say that for that amount, I get quite similar service as before.
-Bad news #2: There are fewer windows and fewer girls. The candy store feeling you gentlemen undoubtedly know, has suffered.
-Bad news #3: Average quality has gone down in the sense that quite some horrible creatures who previously couldn't handle the competition, have crawled from under their rocks (especially during the day - remember the movie "Freakshow" ?). Also, as the number of girls has decreased, the number of stunners has gone down proportionately.
-Bad news #4: Turnover has slowed: if Antwerp is your only option and you like your weekly portion of fresh puta, you're going to have to look for alternatives.
-Good news #1: If you visit Antwerp only like once every couple of weeks, you're still going to find it a treat: you'll be able to pop at least a couple of 7+s.
-Good news #2: The RLD nowadays has a much safer feel about it.
-Good news #3: The scores of siphilis infested transvestites from South America have been flushed out too.
-Good news #4: Alternatives are nearby.
-Alternative #1: Brussels: 30 mins drive: Rue van Aerschot next to Gare du Nord; it used to be a display of expensive gutterdwellers, but now it has taken over from Antwerp: lots of cuties; unsafe neighbourhood though: dress down, be streetwise; also, the action takes place behind curtains rather than in separate rooms: not for the faint of dick. Some Antwerp veterans present.
-Alternative #2: Liège: 90 mins drive: Side allays of Rue de la Cathédrale near the river Meuse: RLD is smaller version of Antwerp RLD, cheaper, good quality, some Antwerp veterans.
-Alternative #3: appartments: look in Laatste Nieuws newspaper under personal adds (or have a cabbie do it for you). More expensive and can be a disappointment.
-Alternative #4: still other cities: Ghent (45 mins, small); Sint-Truiden (90 mins, clubs on the old road to Liège; tip: combine with Liège); Den Haag (120 mins), Köln (150 mins), Amsterdam (150 mins).
In summary: Antwerp is still worth a visit, but it is no longer the Mecca it used to be. That can change over time though: the pimps have been driven out and the word has to go around among freelance girls that it is a safe place to work now.

This is overdue but better late than never. I already posted 2 trip reports from earlier on the year on the
old Forum.
In week 39 I was in Antwerp for 1 night and following some previous comments on the old board

Avoid Antwerp.. It's a fine city with a lot of fine girls but the red light district don't worth Amsterdam or Bruxelles(Rue D'aschot).

After the october 2001 crack down the Antwerp RLD no longer is heaven on earth. But bit by bit new and good looking girls are finding their way to the famous Schipperskwartier. here is a local's perspective on the scene in antwerp as it stands today. i've lived here all my life and have been visiting the ladies since i turned 17. basically, antwerp has three distinct categories of places where you can find some action.
1. the street scene
there used to be a time when antwerp has two areas where the streets where paved with professional girls, and at any point in time you could stop your car to pick up a 8 or 9 star girl for just 25€ (euro). i was on a first name basis with most of them.
the police started cracking down on streetgirls around the year 2000. along with the girls came a slew of shady figures selling drugs, breaking into your car while you were humping a hot one, ... today, these areas are heavily patrolled by police and the girls are arrested and detained for 24 hours if spotted by them. in addition they will get a fine and a letter is sent to their spouse and parents, informing them of her activities.
in contrast to the us, their customers or potential customers cannot be arrested since only pimping is a crime, and going to a pro is not. if they see you curb crawling they will probably stop you to check your id and go through your car looking for drugs, but they have to let you go. if you have a decent appearance, chances are you will not be bothered at all.
today, one area has been fully cleaned up and the other is still active but not at the rate it once was. the following streets are somewhat active: van straelenstraat, goudbloemstraat, osystraat, pijlstraat, van stralenstraat. the type of girls you will find here today as mostly african or local junkies, with the occasional hottie. for the africans, never pay more than 15€ for fs, for junkies 25€ for fs and if you should run into sophie (28y, blonde, perfect figure, high quality encounter) you should go ahead and pay the 150€/hr for everything (really everything). sophie is the only hot thing left in the neighborhood and she works some afternoons.

you will find most bars along the italiëlei and some rep001tered across the city (easily recognized by blue or red light in the windows, and scarcely dressed women behind the curtains). these places will insist you have a drink with the girls first (they always drink champagne) and you may not even make it upstairs. expect to pay 50-100€ for drinks, before you can go upstairs for at least 150-200€. the girls are beautiful, but going to the red light district will save you money on equal quality material.
4. internet
most girls now have websites, and you can swing by their appartment or club. prices range from 100-150€, see another post in this area for more details.

First of all, in contrast to what you said, the area of Van Straelenstraat, Goudbloemstraat, Osystraat, Pijlstraat, Van Stralenstraat is virtually totally inactive, and totally dead compared to what it used to be !!! So I would say, don't waste your time there! I often park in this area when visiting downtown Antwerp and there is virtually no street action, ie it has been seriously cleaned up by the law. Maybe one or two crackheads or some deperate skinny black chick in a bar, but otherwise it is useless there now.
Regarding the Schipperskwartier, yes there are still girls in the windows but, as previous contributors have said, the area is a shadow of its former self. There may be many windows, but many of them are empty these days. I was there yesterday and there were maybe a total of 25 girls. If you consider any of these girls either here or in the Van Straelenstraat etc. area are worth an 8-9, then I seriously think you need your head examined !!! The Schipperskwartier in Anterwpen becomes a dead place after all the riads of the police.

I have also visited it two times and was immediately grabbed by young girls that offered me company for some time. I have never accepted their offers, although the prices they asked for were on the lower side (around 50 EUR). Was in Antwerp about a week ago. Had not been there in several years and must admit the quality has dramatically improved. There was an article on the front page of today's Wall Street Journal (26 May 2005) on legalized prostitution in the Netherlands. The article focused on a brothel named Villa Tinto in Antwerp, stating that they claim to be the world's most high tech brothel. I'm wondering if anyone has been there and could report on it. Antwerp isn't a city I would normally visit, but it might be worth a side trip in the interests of mongering research.

$ 125 for a half hour looks quite expensive and is above standard rate in Antwerp. From what I have read on the Belgian sites, the price should not exceed 50 euros for that time (with classical F&S).
This sounds quite amazing.

Antwerp has cleaned up its act. There are now some four streets (just north of St Paulus Square) where girls ply their trade from behind windows. They stand or sit in little high-tech cubicles with all sorts of high-tech gadgets. Behind the cubicles or down a corridor there is an operations room, also kitted out with intercoms, panic buttons and the like. The girls have to be EU citizens, and they get checked regularly.
In the midst of all this stands Villa Tinto like a kind of shopping mall, with a large courtyard at one end, rooms on three levels. Each girl stands behind an identical plate glass window the size of a phone booth. Most hold up five fingers to indicate 50 euros as their price. Some open their doors when you approach and try to entice you in. Most offer a rushed service, though as everywhere, there are the good, bad, and indifferent, and you have to choose carefully - but perhaps not too carefully, as the following incident will show.
Here is what happened to me on a recent visit. It was early evening and about one in three booths was occupied. The others were either empty or the blind was pulled down indicating girl busy. There were about 30 women in the covered area, and another 50 or so in the streets around it. Most are surprisingly unattractive. Many were very old - grandmother types or over-50's. The lights are meant to cover up their blemishes, but some even had bruises and unattractive skin. Lots were overweight. Of the 80 I surveyed, there were about 10 who looked acceptable. Only one, in a pink bikini, on the street just north of the Villa, really did it for me. She was slim, young but not too young, athletic looking, nice face, not at all like a tart ... Dream on. When I appraoched her, she shook her head, indicating no go. It was only the second time in my life this had ever happened to me!! Compared with the other types prowling around, I am hardly overweight or scarred or drunk - perhaps it was the bag I was carrying, or the fact that I had stared serachingly at her earlier - I don't know. I had a drink, came back after an hour hoping she would have forgotten/forgiven. No, this time she got up, drew the curtain and turned off the light. I decided to call it a day and had a meal instead. (It occurred to me that she might well have been the attractive Hungarian 'Maria' mentioned in Routard's earlier report, and that my experience would almost certainly have been identical to his, had she let me in).

As described in my previous report as well as Mind Snatcher's report, the RLD facilities are surprisingly clean, upscale and secured, but it's still an RLD with the usual dogs (except that Maria) and bad service. Revisited Antwerp the other day and had a very similar experience. 'Maria' was on the other side of the street this time, chatting to one of the other girls in her booth. Visited the Red Light Area in Antwerp at Falconplaat. I think the other guys on this board are not doing any justice when they say that there aren't any girls there any more.

The directions published on their website aren’t bad, but do require a little clarification: -
The club lies about 40 miles (65 kms) east of Antwerp, the last 14 miles of which are not motorway. (In his report, Hollandmale said it was 30km east of Antwerp, but he conceded that it was more when I told him.)
Take the E313 east towards Luik - Hasselt - Aken. Get off at junction 23 and go north following the signs to Mol. (By the way, there are no motorway services between Antwerp and junction 23.)
Drive approximately 2 miles north up the main road until you reach a roundabout with a right turn onto the N71 which is also known as the "Zuiderring".
The website says to drive along here for 15 minutes. I measured it to be 11.8 miles (18.9 km). It is important to measure this exactly as there are many junctions and turnings along the way. You then turn right at some traffic lights signposted to Wezel (this is the second sign to Wezel, so don’t take the first one). After about ½ mile you will go through a small tunnel. Then go another 300 metres to a roundabout, turn right here and the main entrance to Relax will be 10 metres in front of you on the right.
If you forget to reset your trip counter, well, you will go over a very large canal about three quarters of the way along the N71. Also, you will see a neon sign for another sex club on the left hand side at about the same time. I forget the name of it now, but I enquired about it with people I met in Relax and they said that Relax was a much better place to visit.
If you are driving in from the east it may still be better to follow these directions, as when I left I tried driving east towards Eindhoven but the roads were quite slow.

An important thing to remember about Relax is that the usual €50 entrance fee is halved if you turn up before 6pm. The management has been running this promotion throughout the summer and looks set to continue with it. Also remember that the club used to be called the Ritz, but they recently had to change the name following complaints from the Ritz Carlton hotel chain.
I had arranged to meet Hollandmale around lunchtime, but actually arrived in the area the night before at around 11pm, so I thought I would try it out a few hours earlier than planned…
I think the building is a converted casino/hotel so it looked smart. My only criticism is that the shower area was extremely lacking in space, but there were workmen there the next day installing new facilities, which Hollandmale says have now been finished. I am sure that the contracting firm had no shortage of volunteers to carry out this work!
My first impression of the girls was pretty frustrating. None of them seemed interested in talking to me except for a pretty Russian women called Iris, who was called away for a session shortly after I met her, and secondly, a Spanish girl called Rebecca.

Are all good because they are close to Brussels RLD, i.e. Gare du Nord rue d'Aaerschot. There are plenty of other, you can just look at the location map provided by the site and if it's walking distance to Gare du Nord you're good to go!
I highly recommend you this link http://www.centralr.com for booking your hotel in Belgium. They have incredible prices. Those hotels I listed are **** hotels but you can book them at 70% discount, so that the price will be something like 50 to 60 euros instead of the 200 e. normal rate.
If you come without a reservation then at Place Rogier you can find some "cheap" budget hotels but the price will not be less than 50 so... why not staying at a *** or **** instead??!
For me Brussels RLD is better that Amsterdam's, by far! Antwerpen's one is similar to Amsterdam for quality, but much smaller (500 windows in Amsterdam compared to 100 maximum in Antwerpen).

According to the latest reports on local Dutch/Belgian forums, the number of girls is on the rise. Last Tuesday a total of 17 girls were attending, most of them from 3 PM onwards. I have been a member for a while (Join Date: 04-15-06) and have followed the updates here regulary since then.
My problem is that I am bound to the city center and most posts seen here are either about Queenies or other places on the outskirts of the city.
Other posts (older ones) seems to be out of date regarding who/what/where.
Maybe the action in the city center is limited to the RLD streets, as I have not seen anything suggesting otherwise on my walkabouts (again limited to city center). I have heard that the city council have cleaned up big-time and that might be the reason.
As for my experiences (two different in RLD) they where not much to write home about as the service was extremly bad, therefor I was wondering if any of you know other places in the center.

During my recent trip to Belgium, I had the chance to visit RLD in Antwerpen and Dox. It was not so easy to find Dox and when I got there, there were only 2 girls. You can take the train from Bruxelles nord to Antwerp, it takes about 50 minutes to arrive to anvers central station.it's a bit by walk to RLD.however antwerp is a nice city.To go to RLD you can go to the Grotemarkt the center and then by there it's about 7 minutes walk.RLD is in falconplaza (I hope I remember right) and you can always check the maps when you are there.It's quite easy to find by walk.

I always found that the RLD in Antwerp was a miniture of Den Haag. The quality was always suspect. The accomodations for the workers are so old.

A few things:

I recently had the opportunity to revisit to Brussels RLD and visit the Antwerp version for the first time.

It had a very relaxed environment to it – no gangs of the "psst, Charlie" variety hanging around, or any noticeable pimps, no stag-do’s or groups of tourists snapping with their cameras, just, well guys like you and me looking to get laid. It seems a pretty safe place as well (particularly in comparison to Brussels RLD), with the cops patrolling regularly.
There are two/three wide streets with windows on them, which I would guess, are about 300 to 400 yards long with girls on either side, the two streets are joined by the "Villa Tinto" building – containing around 30 windows. I would say there are in total 200 to 250 windows, with an occupancy rate of 50% during the day and 75% during the night.
There are no bars on the streets themselves, although there are some nice bars (selling even nicer Belgian beers) a few minutes stroll away.

Just a heads up to all the guy son here hitting the RLD at Schippers quarter Antwerp (or Brussels come to that).
It isn't a bad scene if you are used to the UK, but you can do better with 'private houses'. These are essentially private brothels that operate in and around the city.

First, traveling from London to Belgium on the Eurostar train I was told my ticket was valid to any Belgian station.
Result. If you book early enough, you can get a return from St Pancras for £59
I stayed in the Hotel Internationaal Zeemanshuis, which is literally only around the corner from the RLD in Antwerp.
Now, although it is nothing special, for 46.50 EUR per night (you need to pay in advance when you check in) which includes breakfast, if you take into consideration the location of the hotel, I think it represents very good value for money.
I used www.booking.com to reserve a room online and there was no problem with the hotel expecting my arrival, but please note, there is a 'no guest' policy there so if you are planning an outcall, this probably isn't the hotel for you.

I think the RLD is actually setup in a really good way. You basically have a square, excluding the main road so you have 3 roads with windows on both sides.
You also have an alley way from Verversrui to Schippersstraat with windows both sides. I was there on a Saturday night so you pretty much had full occupancy. If you can't get business on a Saturday night, when can you! ?
The area in which the RLD is situated, it is actully quite close to the town centre. This means you do get a lot of tourists walking up and down the RLD there just having a look.
