I am making a little tour of Europe again and this time decided to pay a visit to Brussels for a few days. I did a bit of research on the internet and found a lot of good information about the massage parlors. I am aware of the RLD areas in the city but I have never really cared for that scene. Just got back from a weekend in Brussels.
Noticed a few mongering options. One of the first lefts off the main shopping district (I think it is the longest row of shops in Europe?) took me to a bar. this is less about my particular trysts than simply describing the area and what to expect, with the readers hopefully learning from a few mistakes that i made.
i've been to brussels a couple of times but never had the opportunity to check out the infamous rue the'aerschot area (i'll use either the french or dutch version of the street names depending on whatever is easier for this yankee to spell). about two months ago i was in town and based on the reports in this forum, decided to give it a go. knowing full well in advance that it would be industrialized services at best, i still liked the idea of some brief fun for just 40 euros, the equivalent cost of a few drinks at a fancy hotel bar. why not?
my first exploration was on a saturday afternoon. from central brussels by the grand place, i took one of the frequent trams to the gare de nord train\subway station for a couple of euros and simply walked to the eastern exit of the station (by the way, there are a couple of atms in the building if you need cash). the moment i stepped outside onto rue the'aerschot i could see what the reports were talking about. in either direction along the front of the buildings opposite the station were many storefront windows with some sort of neon lighting, despite it being just after noon. most of those windows, though certainly not all, contained a usually pretty woman in a skimpy bikini or lingerie, some eyeing potential customers as they walked by, others smoking a cigarette (a turnoff for me, even though i smoked for 10 years) , reading a book, or chatting away on a mobile phone. direct eye contact often was returned with a gesture to come inside but often there was just a sultry stare back in my direction. there were something like 30 different windows along the stretch starting on the south where aerschot merges with rue the'brabant (just south of the station) to the north at the intersection of aerschot and rue quatrecht, some holding just one woman and a chair, others much larger with multiple couches and ladies. there were many more windows north of rue quatrecht past a car wash all the way to the big intersection with av. de la reine but to tell you the truth, the area gets increasingly deserted beyond the car wash and there were plenty of choices in the initial stretch. those looking for bargains might want to consider venturing northward.

First props to Delta Indigo on the hotel tips. I'm at the Crown Plaza Palace, having scored a room for just over €100 a night, a little over half what the Hilton charged. The room is nice and convenient both to Rogier metro station and the North Station. I have decided to write my report just after I have returned back from Brussels trip, while the topic was hot for me, but due to work load I forget about it until I start to read the forum again for a trip to Frankfurt.
