First of all, most people here do not speak English. Keep that in mind when you begin the adventures.

You don't realy get privats in the strict sense of the word, as you will find in Czech rep. There just isn't the demand for them in Bulgaria. Example, in Prague an escort girl will see 8 clients (outcall) in a month, in Sofia escort girls see 8 clients PER YEAR! I'm speaking from what I know based on information I have gained by talking with girls.

Most of the girls working incall, will be independents working from their own place. But you will need some translation software, as (from my experience) their English is dreadfull. Random more or less entertaining experiences from my first month in Sofia.

- Had a lousy night out on Rock 'and' Rolla (arrived too late, around Midnight). Too crowded, the music too loud to hear your own thoughts, the few free spots marked with "reversed" signs.

Jim Beam Club (on Boulevard Vitosha, not in Studentski Grad. I haven't been there yet but will later this month with a local friend) afterwards was a bit more tolerable, but I'm getting too old for that shit (hell, I've pretty much felt that since I was 25). Give me a relaxed bar or café with the music at conversation level.

- Went to Fetish Club after the previous two. Most expensive night of my life. That's obviously going to depend very heavily on the individual's definition of a "good life".

But some general impressions so far based on the five weeks I've been here (actually it's getting close to six, time flies when you're having fun.).

I pay €350 a month for a pretty nice and modern furnished 60 m2 apartment, six kilometers from the center of Sofia (but prices on these types of apartments didn't really seem to be all that location dependent, I simply took one I liked in a neighbourhood I liked). Don't expect to find anything under €300 if you want something with furniture that doesn't look like hideous leftovers from the 70s and kitchen appliances from roughly the same time.

My first electricity bill. For around three weeks in the apartment. Was a measly €8. Looking forward to seeing how much it's going to cost having the air condition running this Summer, but based on that first bill it's certainly going to be a hell of a lot less than it would have cost me back in Scandinavia.

I haven't seen my water and heating bill yet, but it should be cheap too.

I pay €12 for 40 Mbit fiber Internet (which has so far been as rock solid as what I was used to, and they came to install it within a couple of days) + around 50 TV stations.

I've unfortunately had to make do without 3G on my smartphone, as I need my long stay card (still got some practical things I need to get in place before I can apply) before the phone companies will allow me a subscription. And I haven't been able to find any pre-paid plans (I have one of those) that includes reasonably priced 3G.

A monthly card to all public transportation is a little over €25.

Taxis cost probably (factoring in starting costs and time based costs when stuck in traffic etc.) slightly over €0. 50 on average per kilometer. That's a fraction of what I was used to. Taxis were something I used to take a few times a year, now I just jump into one if I'm in a hurry or don't feel like waiting for a bus or tram (which otherwise all run very frequently).

Food and drink (alcohol, sodas etc.) ranges from relatively cheap (McD, Subway etc.) to more often very cheap (regular restaurants, supermarkets) compared to Scandinavia (we're talking 3-5+ times cheaper).

A large beer in a typical bar or restaurant will set you back around €1. Hard liquor is also cheap (I've been drinking a fair amount of whisky when going out, but usually getting so much of it that I'm struggling a bit to remember price examples.).

Buying things like clothes in known brand chains or similar (eg. H&M, Zara and many others in the countless large malls around Sofia) is slightly cheaper than what I was used to, but not much.

I bought a pair of Salomon hiking boots that cost me around €120 on sale. Probably more or less the same they cost in most Western European countries.

Similarly with electronics. You won't be saving anything there (and in fact people from for instance the US would probably find it offensively expensive, since I know they're used to low prices on that compared to Europe in general).

Basically I find most consumable products and services very cheap, while non-consumable products. And particularly "luxury" items. Are often priced almost as I've been used to.

And then there are the girls. And holy fuck there are so many gorgeous specimens. I just took a walk down the main shopping street (Boulevard Vitosha) this afternoon, after an enjoyable little massage in one of the side streets, to enjoy the increasingly pleasant weather. And there are so many beautiful girls it's almost insane.

I went out some friends this past weekend and spent all night in a club (not my usual choice of environment at all, I hate places where you can't have a conversation and I actively need to try to drag girls outside when I want to talk to them.) , and obviously it was similarly well stocked with extremely attractive ladies in their 20s.

As for the "at will and need" part of your question. Good luck with that, from what I've read I think a place like Thailand might be a whole lot better for those kinds of expectations.

If you want to stick with the pros it seems like Bezplatno. Bg and adamieva. Info are getting more and more ads every day, and prices are now regularly down around 60 leva (€30) for an hour. I've been told that times are very tough in Bulgaria at the moment for many people, as in so many other places, so that probably has an effect.

But if you're aiming for freebies as well. And I've definitely been working both angles. Expect to have to work just as hard for it as in many other cities around the world. Just waving large bills and credit cards around probably isn't going to cut it in many or most cases, unless you also have at least some charm and "game" to add to the mix. I have however met quite a few really nice girls who speak English very well, and I've certainly not noticed any obvious anti-foreigner attitudes among them (but then they are the ones who speak English of course, naturally it's been a lot harder to try to communicate with some of the many people of all ages who don't speak English or at best very little).

Finally, there are a lot of rich people in Sofia, so again it's probably not going to be easy to impress as the "rich foreigner" these days. Unless you really are. Well, rich.

My Bulgarian friends say it's a country of upper and lower class (a huge, more or less poor lower class and an obviously much smaller but still very noticeable upper class) with barely any middle class to speak off. I'm the new Bulgarian middle class.

We are Family of 4 and we scrap by with 2000 Levas not a life of luxury but we do live in basic comfort.

Food costs us 4 people 1000 Levas = 500 Euros, we do not visit Restaurants, Bars etc, but once a while we have a Donair = Shwarma or Kebabchete = Kebab Bulgarian style outside.

Any Luxury is going to cost Like Hoteling, Baring, Nightclubing, No Clue on Girls but you can get an idea on Bezplatno and I think the rate is 60/70 Levas = 30 Euros.

As for the cost of living I don't know what is your lifestyle and what you are used to do but in a country with a minimum salary of 140 EUR and in Sofia maybe 200 EUR you are asking if you can live a decent life with 2200 EUR? This is a dream salary for 95% of the Bulgarians so you can yes live a pretty good decent life. As for the girls as MikeSV said there are a lot and I mean a lot of rich people in Sofia but the good thing is that there a lot of hot girls too. So using only your money is not a good strategy you have to try and find some girls which are interested in foreigners (like in every country) and as most young people study English at school I don't think you will have any problem with that. Just take a walk in spring or summer at Vitoshka and you will get your motivation believe me.

Hello, so I found the forum and decided to try to add some value.

The report is concerning Kamasutra Club, address: 19 Dondukov Blvd. , Sofia.

Open from 22:00 till 5:00.

Entrance fee: 5 leva.

Looking for girls, the problem at adamieva is that many of their photos are simply fake. A better but more expensive way is drinking something at a striptease club and choose.

You will have to buy one from a dealer, a prepaid one, is very simple and you may find a simple cellphone starting at about 50 leva.

Be aware that if the lady you are calling does not recognize the cell ID, she will not pick up your call. The same regarding hidden ID.

I've been traveling to Sofia for around 3 years on a regular basis and thought it was about time I shared some of the local knowledge I've built up.

Some general tips.

Some hotels do try to charge to take a girl to your room, but trick here is simply walk in as bold as brass and straight to the lift and chances are the girl will not get stopped. Ask them to come dressed conservatively to maximize your chances here. Alternatively go up to your room and get the girl to walk in after you. As long as she's reasonably dressed she will get in without any hassle in my experience.

The girl on the phone is possibly not the girl you will meet. Ask! Sometimes I ask them something about what they are wearing in their photos on the net to see if they are really an independent. Don't take girls the bell boy or the taxi driver offers you. They won't be cheap and its probably some street girl they picked up from behind the main railway station.

Just spent almost two weeks in Sofia. My advice for any hobbyists wishing to visit the city would most likely be this: don't.

Some local Bulgarian girls are very pretty. And Bulgaria is one of the top 20 countries in the world for huge tits. The *average* cup size is a the. I hooked up with a girl from Tinder who wasn't super hot but she had enormous cans. I went around to the supposed red light districts identified online on other sites. Never found anything. Went to many of the walk-up brothels I found mentioned online. They were all not there. The only street walkers I ever saw were standing at the end of Makedonia Ave near Hostel Mostel, and they were the ugliest trannies I've ever seen in my life.

I asked some taxi drivers for help, and in spite of advice online indicating that any driver would be a great source of info, they were actually very unhelpful. A few refused to help me or said they didn't know anything. I found one who seemed helpful and spoke good English, so I took his number, but when I called him he sent his non-English-speaking friend in stead.

The other taxi driver took me to a strip club. If he spoke English I would have told him I wanted to go somewhere else. I know strip clubs usually rip you off. But I went inside with him and the lady manager in there spoke good English, was friendly and direct, seemed like a no bullshit place, so I decided to sit for a while.

This place was called Kama Sutra. Some of the girls dancing inside were stunning. Really really cute girls with very nice bodies. I got a private dance with one who was sumptuous. Had a short novel tattooed on her side and some religious tattoos on her back. Dusky, petite, tight body, small but beautiful tits. I really liked her. But she wasn't going home with people.

Actually there were only three girls in the whole place who went home with customers. They were the three ugliest girls in the place. The manager asked me when I sat down what type of girl I liked, but I have no idea why she asked me that. All three girls were the same- late 20's /30's, brunette, Bulgarian, overweight, not super attractive. If I had requested a blonde, or someone fit, or young, or petite, or with a nice body, or pretty face, or blue eyes, or any other nationality than Bulgarian, then I would have been told they didn't have that. Anyway I talked to all three girls even though they were slow to come over. Decided to take the last one with me because what the hell.

Entry fee 5 lev. Water 5 lev. Private dances 20 lev a dance. Lady drinks 45 or 60 lev. Taking home a girl for sex is 150 lev per hour. (what the FUCK is up with the stupid lady drinks? Why the hell would I pay that much for a watered down beverage she's not even going to drink when I could get a private dance for less than half the price, or actual sex for 3 times. I guess maybe you could try to talk the more attractive girls into fucking you if you buy them enough drinks, maybe after you spend 500 or 1000 euro you could get one of them. Or that's what they want you to think so you'll buy these absurd drinks).

So I went out with this girl. I told her I didn't have a hotel and asked if she knew a place. She said she did but tried to get me to pay the money to her (100 lev), even though the room was only 80 lev. We got in a taxi. The stupid driver wanted 30 lev. The hooker told me to pay it so he would wait to take her home. Then he claimed to not have change, so I paid 40.4 x what I should have paid. We got in to the hotel. Girl wanted to know if I wanted to get something to eat or get drinks. I kept saying no but she was insistent. We went to the hotel bar and I bought her some whiskey and Red Bull. Another 16 lev. We went up to the room. She sipped a little of her drink, barely touched it though. Smoked a cigarette though I asked her not to. Then said we both needed showers though I told her I just took one before coming to the club. We showered together. Then we got in bed, and the fucking sales pitch started. I fucking hate aggressive upsells. We agreed on a fucking price. Do your goddamned job. IF you do a good job, AND I really like you and you impress me with how good you are doing what I paid you to do. Then. At the end of the service. THAT would be an appropriate time to ask if I wanted something more. AND I would probably say yes. Don't start trying to sell me on something else when we're in the middle of doing the first thing.

Anyway we hadn't done ANYTHING yet. And she was trying to tell me she really liked me. She wanted to make love not have sex and to do that she needed all night. She wanted to give me a massage. She wanted to fuck without condoms. Slow and sensual blah blah blah. It was already like 2 in the fucking morning. And this was really killing my boner. I kept telling her to shut the fuck up I wasn't interested in the upsell. She wanted me to pay an extra 500 lev for all night. Ridiculous rip off. Finally she said, okay, we didn't have to do all night. But we only had 10 minutes left so did I want to pay for an additional hour.

I said. What the fuck are you talking about. We've been in bed for 15 minutes and 13 of those minutes were taken up by your obnoxious sales pitch. We hadn't done anything sexual at all. Apparently she was counting the time from when we were still at the strip club. Which I'm sure is bullshit. I mean who ever heard of that before? I asked her at the club, if I pay 150, then we have sex, right? Very plainly. Of course she said yes. But. Now this stupid ***** was trying to tell me that the hour was almost up and I had 10 minutes left. I told her I paid her for sex, I didn't pay her to talk, or give me a sales pitch, or take a shower, or drink whiskey, or smoke, or ride in the cab with me. 1 minute later she said we had 5 minutes left. Interesting math in Bulgaria. She was still trying to convince me to pay for an extra hour or all night, when we had done fucking nothing during the first hour. I told her just to get the fuck out. Much more politely than I am being here in this report. The **** picked up her things, told me I was a bad person (ha!) then walked out. In total I paid about 170 euro for absolutely nothing.

Don't go to Kama Sutra. What a rip off.

Anyway few nights later I was staying at Magic Castle Hotel. Small family run business but one of the highest rated hotels on TripAdvisor in Sofia. Reasonably nice place though the rooms are small and a bit overpriced considering. But it's also right next to another nameless strip club. There is a big sign that just says "Erotic Bar. " It's across from CCS (City Center Sofia) Mall.

I was still very sexually frustrated, I don't know why but hoping for a better experience in this place, so went to take a look. It was obviously owned by the some company as Kama Sutra. Very similar set up.

The girls in Erotic Bar were not nearly as hot as the dancers in Kama Sutra. But there were a few very cute girls. And. After talking to a few I figured out that there were more girls that go home with customers there and the ones who do are much better looking than at Kama Sutra. So. If you want a lap dance from a super hotty Kama Sutra might be better but if you want actual sex this seems like a better place to go. At least right now.

I hate the set up at these bars where it's hard to identify which girls will go home. The manager at this place wasn't willing to help me. Just said I needed to talk to the girls. And the girls only rarely come over to talk. There was one very hot petite darker skinned girl, maybe a gypsy, that I really liked. But the first girl who came to talk to me who was also attractive was a 29 year old skinny blonde with some tattoos. The way she did her makeup and the clothes she was wearing reminded me of Avril Lavigne. She was friendly and spoke good English and pretty sexy. So I agreed to take her. Same price. 150 lev. But when we were leaving I asked her about the other girl and she told me she also went home with customers. Which made me regret not asking her. The girl I wanted was named "Assia" I think, or something like that.

Anyway my blonde girl and I went back to my hotel. Guy at the front desk was cool about it, didn't even ask for ID though she offered. We went up to my room. I told her about my bad experience from a few nights prior and she was sympathetic. Said she wasn't like that and wouldn't rip me off. We talked economics for a while and she said she worked at the bar for a few years but wasn't making any money until she started going home with guys. Everything, dances, lady drinks, even fucking is split 50/50 with the bar. So if you pay 150 to fuck a girl, 75 goes to her. Seems like a bad deal. I guess that's why the ***** from earlier was trying to pressure me to overpay. So partially the fault of the business.

My girl showered, then got in bed with me. But. Though she was nice enough. She just wasn't turning me on. She would not kiss. She wasn't very sensual or affectionate. She insisted on condoms for everything. Said we could do BJ without but she wanted an extra 50 lev. And she just wouldn't work with me. It's hard for me to keep it up with a condom on. This was my second trip to Sofia in Nov-2015. My first visit was in this summer but did not have much time to seek fun and sexplore.

The only place I visited in Summer was the TQ club near Radisson. Which was an awesome place (like Dubai nightclubs. Where girls were so plenty, and 'quick' sex is cheap - 150 levs).

I had 3 nights and this is how it went:

Night 1:

Taxi driver (20 lev) took me to a filthy looking brothel that stunk heavy smoke upon entering. It had 4-5 girls (or slutty women) and place looked real filthy hence I had to skip the place.

Night 2:

I ordered a massage in the room via the hotel, in view of getting a happy ending. The girl (not too good looking or bouncy!) came very professional, unfortunately declined my request for a happy ending, though the massage she gave was awesome.

Lesson learnt- when ordering massage at hotel please make sure you do get extra services.

Night 2:

Fetish Night club, Vitosha Blvd: this place, as all other gentlemen club are, is designed to rip-off. I was told it has the best collection of girls for the night by the taxi driver.

If you are foreigner, 25 levs to get in (comes with a beer) and for locals it is either 5 or 10 levs. Once you are in, the 'manager' hostess lady will persuade you to have their hostess service and get them a drink.

It is the same old proven business style. They will ask you to buy specially crafted hostess that will cost 50 to 200 levs. All the girls will come and persuade you to buy their drink. I am almost certain they will be receiving a commission from their bosses for each unit of drink the make the customer to buy.

OK, the place had around 10 girls that night. All good looking and some were really stunning!. I politely refused the offer to have have hostess and buy them drink.

The strippers were perfect and there is at least a girl (if not two) stripping all the time. After sitting and watching girls stripping, I picked the girl of my choice, and she was lovely.

However, she did persuade me to buying her a champagne (50 levs only! I was on my second beer and already expensed 100 levs so far (no fun or sex).

Then the girl of my choice showed me 4 VIP rooms, the rooms are awesome 2 of them had beds and you can engage in all sort of fun. The price started at 250 levs and went up to 400 levs, and I eventually bought it down to 250 levs for 30 minutes. I may have got it for 200. I think it all depends on the total money you spend.

So for 30 minutes of fun ('everything' is possible) - the cost was 350 levs. And yes. Remember to do hard negotiation and agree the time upfront.

My strong advice for anyone is once you are in, spend your time wisely. Do not get forced to buy drinks. Politely refuse and ask them to leave you alone.

But be prepared to spend 200 levs minimum for 30 minutes of 'full' fun. Enjoy!

I would still think my first visit (TQ club) was much more value for money.
