I intended my April visit to Sofia to include a checkout of the brothel and street scenes. I've been in Sofia twice this year and my impressions on the local talent:
1. "Escort" sites. Most of the girls are Roma gypsies, fake pictures but some are cute, almost all of them will provide shit service and steal your belongings when you're not looking (be careful! Also, many of the numbers lead to the same groups of people.
2. Strip Clubs. Kama Sutra was the most tourist friendly and didn't rip you off buying the girls drinks (it was closed for renovation in Aug and instead they had a lame party bus outside). When it WAS open, I never tried the back room where apparently "anything is possible" but I did bring home a couple girls I chatted up on occasion. Take-out is limited to only a few options, and they're about a 7 (especially compared to what's on stage).
3. Taxi drivers will take you to a couple well known brothels. Sometimes they can be fine if you're willing to hang-out and wait. Talent will pass through randomly and sadly the places I've seen your options are between 3-5 girls usually not that impressive.
4. Local girls. I've found basically three types here: A. The Chalga party / mafioso loving skanks. Be. Studenskigrad international students and broke locals see. The more hipsterish / vegan / health conscious ones who want to be more Western European and will refuse to listen to Chalga, but who will also want to impress you. All of these are viable options and IMHO better than the hookers in this town. Almost all Sofia girls like to drink and are down to earth.

Been visiting Sofia on work for a few years and haven't really played here much but this is my experience for you. Hope it helps.
1- Strip clubs: Would agree with most on staying away from Fetish, they'll push drinks and extras very aggressively on you. But if you say you don't want to pay that kind of money & just want lap dances or to watch the show and then decide on a woman, they should leave you alone; they need the business like anywhere else and aren't going to throw you out. I recall their lap dances being more expensive than at other clubs. You have to be as aggressive with them at least that's what I did and it worked, but I've only been there once and won't go again because I don't have the patience for that type of pushiness. I think most of the girls will go home with you although I didn't partake as I didn't find any particularly attractive. Cleopatra, Kamasutra and Velvet are better clubs to go to. They are all about the same quality level. I've taken home a few of the more attractive girls from each club and for the most part the sex was pretty lousy, rushed and almost always came with excuses to cut things short. I would also say that the quality of the talent is low at all of the clubs. From all of the clubs I've been to, I've only seen 1 girl I would consider gorgeous. I think it was at either Kamasutra or Velvet. She was super hot with an unreal body and she said that she was only a dancer and wouldn't go home with me so I didn't bother to pursue her. Generally, I've taken a table with some colleagues and tipped a waiter or bouncer and asked him to send some girls to our table and generally they'll send a few WGs to join your table. So overall I would echo what everyone else has been saying. Sofia isn't a good place to play, not by a long shot. There are much better destinations for that. But if you're in Sofia then I would say that those recommendation are your safest bets.

I've been living in Bulgaria for almost 10 years now (mostly in Sofia and Varna) and it's not as bad as some posts suggest.
Prostitution is not illegal here as someone claimed in the Varna thread. Pretty much all activities related to it (pimping, brothels, etc) however are. With that said, it's tolerated and unless they are causing trouble in public, working girls (and their clients) are largely left alone by the authorities. Only trafficking rings (especially ones involving minors) are prosecuted and even that is questionable as corruption is fairly wide-spread and the local "mob" has a lot of police protection.
As grim as the above sounds, it doesn't actually affect the average local or tourist all that much. The streets are relatively safe (or at least no more dangerous than anywhere else in the EU), unless you are being stupid. In other words, use your common sense and you'll be just fine.
SWs can be found on many corners and every 100 ft or so on major boulevards after 10-11 pm. Obviously both options have merit, depending on what you are looking for. The average price is 100 BGN (50 EUR) for an hour of standard service. English is widely taught in local schools, so it shouldn't be a problem, especially with girls in their 20's or 30's (and really, how much vocabulary could they possibly need). Also keep in mind that "showing some cash" has a different meaning here as the average local probably doesn't make more than 300-400 EUR a month.
Tourist destinations like Golden Sands, Riviera, Albena (near Varna) and Sunny Beach (near Bourgas) are exceptions to the above as foreigners acting stupid is pretty much the norm there. It's also a lot easier to score (or get scammed). The tourist season is between April / May and September / October and all of these places are booming with life, but everything closes by the end of October. If your visit falls outside of Summer, stick to the bigger cities (Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Bourgas).
And that's pretty much it. Bulgaria is definitely not the best mongering destination due to the relatively low quantity, but it makes up for it in quality. I've been to most EU countries and while there are far richer hunting grounds elsewhere, eastern European girls will always be my favorite.

Kamasutra is a couple friendly strip club. 40-50% of the girls are around 7-8. The rest are ugly and some are fugly. No real stunners. Thursday-Saturday after 11 pm are the busy times. Few notes / personal observations that may hopefully be helpful to my fellows:
- Most folks in Bulgaria use Viber, not WhatsApp (weird, I know). You may be better off / more lucky using Viber.
- The general culture of "customer service" and the industry of offering mongering services is pretty low. Generally, it's a hit or a miss for several reasons, since most of the WGs aren't professionals, are doing it to complement income, or because they are down on their luck.

Last week, national newspaper Novinite reported a judge declared inconstitutional the pieces of legislation which allow the police to detain streetworkers (and homeless).

Since I have benefited reports here I also want to contribute. I was in Sofia from 28Th December till 01 January. Overall city is nice and easy to transfer. Public transport works perfectly. Taxis a bit difficult to find but you can use Yellow and Taxi Me applications. There were a lot of rumors regarding taxi drivers in Bulgaria but I never had a problem. Most of the situation I used apps. And as you know they are rating drivers. I found taxis on street also and still no problem. Also Bin Bin is an option when you can't find taxi. (Scooter rental) When I arrived bus station (near train station) it was 4 am and there were no place to make an exchange. One of the friends told me it is possible to exchange in Princess Casino near by. And I went there. After passport check I went to Kassa and made the exchange and called a taxi by reception there. So I could avoid ripfull taxi drivers near bus station. I am sure they will overcharge me if I paid Euro and get a taxi on the street at that time of night. So keep in mind.

I got some nice wines and proseccos from Billa Market in Bulgarian Mall. Also A1 simcard was working perfectly. City was a bit empty due to Christmas holiday I guess. Anyway Sofia isn't comparable with Kyiv but it can be a compensation through these bad days during the war especially when I think the save that I do from an expensive flight ticket to Warsaw or Prague. Otherwise if you are making Euro or USD it is better to try some other countries.
