Mikado is going strong. Lot's of girls, the price hasn't changed lately. Expect to pay around 150 - 200 Euro for at least an hour. But remember that since these girls are all somewhat independent, the terms can be negotiated a bit. Don't expect to get the price much lower than 150 though, that would be a rare exception.
As Mikado is a "normal" bar, with no entertainment, you could go to Alcatraz where there is striptease every 15 minutes and all the girls you will meet (except the strippers) are available as in Mikado. Not as many girls here though.

Night Club Simppu located in Iso Roobertinkatu 4-6 (pedestrian street) is open from 6pm every day of the week, closes at 3am (2am Sun-Tue). The place keeps a low profile and is hard to spot, from the street you can only see a small sign saying "Gentleman's club". Walk into the yard and you can see a bigger sign with the name "Simppu" above the door. No obvious proffessional girls spotted the night I visited, but there are some 3-4 exotic dancers performing. Definitely worth popping in for a beer or two while checking out the dancers as there is no entrance fee. Warm bar food also available and major credit cards accepted. The establishment is operated by the same friendly couple who opened the legendary "St. Petersburg" restaurant (Pikku Pietari) on the other side of the block 10 years ago.
Hot spots in Helsinki, Finland (October 2002):
Restaurant "Mikado" in Mannerheimintie opposite to the Swedish Theatre is still the #1 place for professional ladies. You can watch them passing by on their way to work if you are sitting in the Hotel Marski bar (corner of Mannerheimintie and Lonnrotinkatu). Most of the girls are Russians or Estonians, but there are Finns and other nationalities among them as well. Price range from EUR 150 and up. There is a sudden strong movement in the press and Parliament in Finland to criminalize paying for sex. While it is currently entirely legal, paid sex could be criminalized as soon as some time during the year 2003, if the pressure groups succeed. According to a recent poll amongst Members of Parliament, there is already a majority in the Parliament willing to criminalize BUYING sex.
Even according to the current proposals, SELLING sex would still be legal.

Haha yeah that was also my impression of Finland. Street bums with no life yelling at you for no reason, drunken losers singing into your ear at bars, people not helping you when you ask directions, people hesitating to talk to you as they realize you're not Finnish.. I don't really recommend the place. Though Finnish girls are VERY attractive, and they can be quite nice when they actually talk. Which they hardly ever do :-) They're not so hard to get either. If you're dark and handsome, you could very well lay a cleaner girl without paying for it in Finland. Stay away from the area called Kallio though, because you won't find anything cleaner than a hooker there :-)

I live in Helsinki. I noticed the behaviour of Finnish guys very early on. I prefer to go into Helsinki centre for my nights out. Working class districts, of which Kallio is the largest and best known, are not pleasant places to spend time in the bars and for the reasons Cachondito gave. Life can be a little unpleasant for the girl friend of a foreign guy in some of the more downmarket bars. (not helped by the fact that most Finish bars are pretty high standard in terms of decor etc. You dont always know what you are walking into ;)
Even the centre is not immune though. Last night I was with a girl in Hotel Marski, sitting by the window facing out to Marski Kengat. We were having a chat, we've known each other for a long time. Finnish guy rolls up, asks to join us. We told him that our friends were rejoining us but there was space at the end of the sofa. He sat and whilst Kara and I were talking, he tried to 'secure her services'. This is not the first time I have experienced this kind f behaviour, same thing at Memphis a couple of weeks ago.

The down side: for a culture in whch drinking is popular, The finns have a very low alcohol threshold - and get very uncultured and obnoxious ( as most drunks do). You can't help but notice this staying a few days and nights city center, going to pubs and....just walking the streets.

I am not aware of any mixed sex public saunas, if someone is please let us all know.
In general, us Finns - being the inventors of the sauna - tend to respect the institution of the sauna as a place of cleaning your mind as well as your body, and the so-called "saunas" and "sauna clubs" (read: massage parlors and/or brothels) of Central Europe are a constant source of mixed feelings and hilarity.
There are still a number of public saunas in Helsinki (- actually, dusty bin, the best one is in Kallio!) - but all those are highly respectable traditional establishments where you get a bath, a clean towel and maybe a beer, but nothing else.

Yes, and as a regular visitor I have come to appreciate the Finnish sauna cleansing experience. Every evening I make time for a long "sweat" and I try every trip to visit a different public sauna. I was asking about the mixed sex sauna, because a female friend of mine would like to join me, but I haven't found a "gemischt" (read "mixed sexes") public sauna that allows families to enjoy the experience together.

In my experience I never paid more than €150 and usually it was for the night, only once not. I think often it depends upon chemistry and greed. My Estonian friend almost always stayed all night with clients. After a couple of rounds when both are satisfied its time for a sleep, a quickie and some breakfast in the morning.
Some of the hard nuts will try to double-dip, going in early, shag a guy and go back before the place closes. Second guy might get the night. Some of the girls have homes and husbands to go home to and so prefer their own pillow. The visitors prefer a nice hotel to hostel or shared apartment.
I have not induged in Helsinki for a long time now though so my experience is becoming outdated.
I have shared the same experience as dusty...since there are so many girls available it is quite hard to push the price over 150 €, regardless of it being an hour, two or the whole night. The hour price may be negotiated a bit down in the end of the night though.
But due to the setting at Mikado, you might find that a girl may reject you regardless of your offering, if she doesn't like you. So it is a two way thing.

I am a regular visitor to Helsinki and my last trip was just before the Christmas. I visited Mikado on a Sunday night and it was just like it has always been, namely quite busy considering it was otherwise a very quiet night. The prices have probably gone up a bit because the Finnish police apparently has more actively cracked down Russian and Estonian prostitutes operating in Finland. It seems however, that this has affected mostly internet- based operations (www.sihteeriopisto.net and www.seuralaispalvelu.net). Expect to pay 150 Euros for a short time service.
Alcatraz is going on as in the past. Mermaid has changed the owner, but seems to be ok.

Folks, went to Helsinki Sunday January 19th.
Started my visit around 11pm at Mermaid. Very few customers there (about 7). Few ladies present (about 10) of lousy quality (3 - 6). Apparently place has changed owner and the level of service has not improved. Also the quality of strip acts has gone down dramatically. So left after less than half hour to Alcatraz.
Situation at Alcatraz was even more dramatic. About 3 ladies present for about 25 men. Quality of ladies was good (5 - 8), quality of strip act was excellent. Since I did not come for strip act, left again after half an hour to the place of last hope, Mikado.
Getting into Mikado was a relief. About 30 ladies present of excellent quality. Talked to a few and met a nice lady from Estonia. We agreed on €200 for all night. we had a wonderfull time together, real GFE with all whistles and bells... :) Lady left next day around 11am, so excellent price/quality ratio.
Overall, good experience, although situation at Mermaid and Alcatraz was disappointing, I guess due to being sunday.

Hotel Marski is just about 20meters from Mikado. Some of the girls go into Marski on their way to work. You wil see them, usually they drink tea or coffee, because it is cheap, and sit in little groups. I think there is alittle business done in the bar area but pretty discreet. Almost like the Marski is for relaxation beofre or after 'going on shift'.
As far as I am aware you should have no problems with girls going to the room, just book a double. In general the decent places seem to be OK with this stuff. (Dont shoot me if they say no to you though! I live there, don't stay in hotels.)

In Finland. most clubs are called 'ravintola' it means restaurant. It goes back to the days when...
Anyway, Mikado is what most would call a club, although it actually does have a restaurant. Why you would et there, I have no idea!
So the place has a dance floor although it seems to be rarely used for dancing. There is a main room with a long bar down the centre. At one end is the dance-floor, surrounded by banquettes, at the other is the 'casino' - blackjack, roulette and fruit machines. (OH and the toilets)
There are seats down one side of the bar, nice and comfy. There is room for everybody to walk around and check each other out. Stand still for thirty seconds and a Natasha will ask 'Do you want sex?'

I have not been in there for a few months, but there are always more women than men. There are more venues to choose from, the prices are lower and the women that I love are over there...
The only boats going at the moment take 3.5-4 hours. You either go in the morning and arrive at midday or go in the evening and arrive at about 21:30. You can fly for anything from €49 upwards, but most likely €180ish. It is best to go for a couple of days if the fast boats are not running.

Went to Helsinki last Wednesday for business and pleasure. First night spent with "friend" that I met last time. If you have a cellphone working on GSM technology which is used all over Europe, you should have no problem sending SMS messages in Finland. I am a frequent traveller there and use SMS texting for a lot of things. Most finns speak a passable English, Swedish and some German, so you could also comunicate in those.
IMHO though Helsinki is not a great place for sex tourists. Other than the 2 clubs and sihteeriopisto there's nothing else happening there. You could go to one of the bars and pick up a single Finnish woman on the make. Czech Republic, Netherlands, Germany , even Spain all have a lot more action than Finland.

All reports are mostly based on Mikado and Alcatraz. Has anyone experienced the new places in Helsinki called Widowmaker and Gentleman Club? What's the scene like, and is it worth a visit, etc..?
Something about Widowmaker: The place is about comparable to Mikado what comes having ladies, muchos very pretty Russians / Estonians offering themselves, quality as good I'd say. Prices equal too, asking even 300 (night) / 150 1-2 hrs at the beginning of the night, ending up as low as 100/50 after place has closed 4-5 am ( there's interesting market feeling at the frontdoor then - like in Mikado;))).
Widowmaker is basicly stripclub, so dancing girls, privates etc. available to rest your eyes on if not in hurry to leave too soon ;) Dancers changing quite often during the evening.
Customers are, as far as I could notice, even little bit older than normally in Mikado.

The place is in Kavopuisto park (take a taxi) and is open May-August, I'm told. It was simply crawling with young girls who were VERY drunk and very friendly. One general consideration about Helsinki is that night life is not an all-night game since most places will be closed at 1 - 1.30 am. Forget Spanish movida. I went to Molly Malones at 1 am last week, it was good, band playing, youth drinking beer etc, but at 1.30 everybody were asked to leave. Too early for me, so I went to Mikado, this place was actually full in action, but again, at 3.30 the game was over again already.
This can be however an advantage if you want to find a companion for the rest of the night at an acceptable price. Mikado is a large bar with a small dance floor and a casino, packed with Russian girls and ladies (most are over 30) coming from near Estonia and Sankt Petersburg. They will make eye contact and join you if you reply to it, and after a very basic warm-up conversation will ask you if you want to have sex. Prices will range from 150 to 200 Euro (the stunners). It will not be difficult to have the same for a much better price bearing in mind that:
1. the bar closes pretty early, and many girls will still be unemployed at closing time.
2. the typical male-customer will be a half-drunken finnish man, not just the top of the wish for these ladies. Don´t forget they will not dislike having some fun on that sex they are looking for.
So just wait till closing time, and you will be able to get your bed warmed for some 100-120 Euro. Your negotiating power will be higher if you show leaving alone, some left-alone beauty will ask you if you are really leaving alone, which actually means "is it possible that I am not picking any fucking customer tonight´", it will be very easy for you to make your price "take or leave".

I tend to go to Mikado or to Alcatraz. Mikado is an out of out meat market. You get some very nice looking girls in there, but I have always gone for the all nighters, and these are pricey early on in the evening. Hence, I tend to get there late (gone 1pm) and talk to a few. K and I first went to a chic bar near the Swedish theatre. Since it was early (10pm), it wasn’t too crowded yet. According to today's paper's, Mikado was subject to a police inspection this weekend, both Friday and Saturday nights. Several fines were given - some to girls, some to customers - for trading sex in a public place. Also, several women - all Russians -were found to be in the country illegally and were arrested to be deported.

Jake Sins, the clubs are still in operation, business as usual. As it is not the club doing anything illegal - they are not pimping the women - there is no reason why the police would close them.
It's just that from now on, there is at least a possibility that if you conduct your business negotiations in a club too visibly, you may get fined as the guy in the chair next to you could be an undercover officer.
The new legislation has almost completely wiped out the visible SW activity on the streets of Kallio district - not necessarily a bad thing.
Just as a reminder, buying and selling sex are both still legal in Finland, as long as a) both parties are over 18, b) no pimping is involved and c) the act or the negotiation do not take place at a public location such as on the street on in a restaurant or club.

Was in Helsinki in the beginning of June. As some may know, that time is nearly summer holiday. Less action thus.

This July, I had to be at Helsinki... Yes, Mikado is still open as usual... - Now that I know about the WSG, thanks again to all for your inputs: beyond business issues, it is really proving useful for preparing a truly memorable trip.
Most of the reports here relate about experiences once time reaches closing time, i.e. around 3-4:00 am and talk quite irreverenciously about the “meat market”... Well, as these ladies would say, sausages are meat too, aren’t they? (smile)

The feminists have taken court action and the escort ads on papers were ruled out for good! Thanks to everyone for some great info on Helsinki. I'm a 30-something in good shape and only rarely use paid services. I did go to Mikado which was fun just for the spectacle and to feel like a piece of meat made of euros. Disclaimer for you Mikado-fans: don't worry I didn't waste any girls' marketing time by taking up their time when they could've been meeting other guys. I respect them and their profession.
To find civilian girls here's what I reccommend. I agree with the previous advice found here. Of course it's hit or miss but if you've got a decent personality and looks, it should be hit. Your mileage may vary and all that.
Thursday nights: this was my first night so it was mainly for recon. I hit 5 or 6 clubs. Most importantly I found a talkative bouncer and he gave me the scoop on where to pick up chicks for guys my age. I used his advice plus what I read here for the following nights. (funny story: I played lost tourist at 5am (post-clubbing) and walked home with a really sweet 25yo Finnish blonde... nice hug at the end).
Friday nights: Teaterri or Kaivohuone or both (15 min walk or taxi it). I scoped out Teaterri at 23:00 and it was just getting started. I was going to stay but I thought that maybe I'd ping-pong a bit between T and K, so I went to K. K turned out to be pretty good so I stayed there (21 minimum age on Friday nights). Had a lot of fun hanging out and dancing with 3 25yo Finnish chicks. Met them at the blackjack table and recruited them to help me play. We danced for a 2 hours and had a great time. Got alot of good recon on K which helped get me the Saturday night success. Basically, since K is a bigger club, you want to know where to circulate. One place to check up on is the upstairs VIP room. There's a bar up there and they play only Finnish music. Lots of drunk Finns, but also good scoping.
Saturday nights: definitely Kaivohuone. Mobbed yet still good. Minimum age is 24 which helps us older guys. Get there around 23:00. Clearly some women there to get laid. Ratio seemed tilted to there being more girls than guys. Found a really cute 24yo Finnish girl who was slightly drunk. We danced alot and shall we say the rest was history (all 5 heavenly hours). Cost me 24EUR (cover, drinks, and taxi to her place). Actually only 16 EUR since I won 8EUR at blackjack. A lucky night in many ways!
Sunday nights: Helsinki Club or Teaterri or both (8 min walk) Teaterri was kinda dead, but still worth a scope or two. Helsinki Club was rockin. More on the young side, but I came with the 2 Russian girls I met at Teaterri and hung out with them. Went back to their apartment and hung out awhile. No action, but high GFE and enjoyable.
Pickup lines, fyi. In case some don't know, asking a girl to dance doesn't work well here (and in other European countries). Many just always say no even if they might like you. I'll be in town for three nights in July. Please allow me to ask a few questions.

2) I'm choosing from 1 of three hotels: Rad Seaside in Ruoholahti, Rad. SAS Royal on Runeberginkatu, or Rad SAS Plaza next to the Grand Casino Helsinki. Can you recommend one for walking location near tourist sites. Are these hotels girl friendly?

1) Yes, I think so - although I've never been there that early so I'm not sure. I think at least Alcatraz opens at 20.00 and the girls start to arrive soon after.
2) Of the 3 hotels mentioned, Seaside is the only one that is a bit further away - and even that is only about a kilometer or so. Distance from Royal to Alcatraz is about 3 blocks and to Mikado about 4 blocks - for the Plaza, about the same distances in reverse order. I do not know about girl friendliness, they are all high quality hotels aimed at businessmen so at least a degree of discretion will be required.
One of the Radisson Hotels is also my usual choice in Helsinki. My favorite is the Plaza. It´s the newest and has the best location close to the railway station. Never had a problem with bringing guests at night, no matter if it´s a single girl or a crowd of up to four people to continue a disco-party after closing-time at my room.
Let me add that Helsinki is an extremely good city for picking up freebies. One nice nighclub for that purpose is Manala Bar (Botta). Details at http://www.botta.fi . Friday night usually has a band playing danceable but not always good music. The concerts stop as far as I remember for the summer time. Another old–time goodie is Kaarle XII: http://www.kaarle.com . Helsinki is an awesome city. Beatuiful, clean, and easy to get around and see the sites. The p4p situation exists but I didn't think it was great.
I visited Alcatraz twice. There were fewer girls, less attractive than Mikado, and they were asking the same prices as Mikado. The same girls were there both evenings. Alcatraz charged a 2 euro fee for security in addition to the entry fee of 10 euro. At one point, two Russian girls started arguing. After a while it got a little louder and I thought they were going to start swinging at each other. A big security guy overheard it all and never even looked in their direction. So much for the security fee. One of the other girls told me you have never seen a good fight until you've seen Russian girls fight over a man. I think Alcatraz is worth a look for a newcomer, but I would plan on spending more time at Mikado. It is a much nicer, classier club.
Mikado, as reported here by others, is the place in Helsinki. It is a fairly luxurious club and there were about 30-40 girls there the nights I visited. Girls range from very good to very bad and everything in between. Most of them were from Estonia and Russia. Negotiations started at 200 Euro but could be negotiated down from there. I met a Finn that said you could get them for 80 at closing time but that seemed low to me. I did observe prices falling when the girls got out on the street at the 4AM closing time. Mikado is a must see imho.

Week before last, I spent a couple of days in Helsinki. The near-white nights are kinda strange, with the sun going down at 11:30 and coming up at 3:00 a.m. My first night, I went to Mikado, and it was a surreal experience.
First of all, prices have increased from the posts from two years ago. I didn't ask everyone for a quote so as not to lead the girls on, but I think €200 for 1-2 hours and €300 for longer time appears to be the rule.
I said Mikado was surreal, because it's totally strange to go from the normal world where we are the aggressor to being the prey! You really had to work to avoid making eye contact, and a couple of times I had to flee to the tables where other men were standing for my own safety. It seems like every one of the women there were Russian, although they look great, they're very aggressive and extremely mercenary.
My first night, I was playing blackjack, and a girl set down beside me, and followed me back into the bar, though I didn't make eye contact. By the way, do not play blackjack--they've changed the rules to increase the house advantage beyond that in Vegas. (The house wins all ties--you will just blow through your money.) Anyway, I spoke to this woman both nights I was there, and she was really persistent. Told me a sob story about how her Finnish husband couldn't satisfy her, but wanted €300.
I saw a beautiful Russian girl, Nina, sitting over on the side of the bar, and I approached her, since I thought a less-aggressive girl would offer a better time. She spoke neither English nor any other languages, so it was difficult to communicate. (I speak a little Russian, which helped the next night.) A friend translated, and she wanted €300 for the night, and I wanted to think about (from reading this site on negotiating technique), and she eventually stormed off. Ended up leaving with another Russian for €200, who was cute and affectionate in bed, but very business like and left right afterwards. Saw her the next night at Mikado. After speaking with her translator the next night, it turns out I blew it, and should have taken her offer.
Night two: the aggressive blonde harasses me, but I spot Natasha, who is a Jennifer Connelly lookalike. She too speaks nearly zero English, so we have to get by on my pitiful Russian. She took a seven-hour bus ride from St. Petersburg to Hensinki. She wanted €250 for all night, so I took her back to my hotel (stayed at Hotel Kämp--was worried about getting girls in since it's mich nicer than where I would usualy stay, but no problem), and she was very passionate and affectionate, but everything covered and no kissing. I told her I wanted to see her the next night and didn't want to go to Mikado--more of the same, but she insisted that she be paid.
Russian girls are enigmas: they're beautiful but incredibly mercenary. I know I sound like a naïve American, but the Russians are just something else. Natasha was really striking--black hair and blue eyes, full figure--but when I told her I thought she was beautiful, she replied that there are many beautiful girls in Russia and that the women still outnumber the men. It looks like my next trip will be to Russia where I don't have to pay Western European prices.

Maybe the girls screened both of us and determined we could afford 200+ or maybe we both forgot to brush our teeth that day. I'm not sure what happened but I found negotiating difficult and felt lucky finding someone after clsoing for $150. Alcatraz held very little interest for me. I must say Russian girls perform very well and you should go direct to the source--Russia. Moscow offers more p4p action but St. Petersburg is a great destination as well. $100-$150 always gets me an attractive girl.
One Eyed Man ~ Of course the girls are mercenary! It is their business! For them to travel over to Helsinki and stay is not cheap, especially now that the hotel that many of the girls used to use has now closed down.
If you meet the same girls in their home environemnt then they can afford to be a little more sociable, if they see a, longer term, greater benefit. This is, for them, a business, they give good service, but they are not girlfriends.

Poor service, poor hygiene, many druggies and disgusting looks. Truly the bottom of the barrel as far as Finland goes. This is a story from a visit to Helsinki some months ago. It was my 2nd time in Helsinki. My first trip was 2 years ago and I had no time for “happy hour”. This will be a long story, according to my reporting standards, but it is a long one because it was the best business trip I ever had concerning late hours!
I started the first night with Alcatraz. It is an interesting place, a nice club that you can have drinks and meet people. The music is affordable to good. I have to admit that I am interested primary on meeting nice people when I am abroad for business, than to hunt pussies; for sure the ideal situation of meeting nice females is of no question. I also have to say here that I like very much the Finish people. I have a long collaboration with them during the last 5 years and the only 2 things that I do not like with them is first that my friends prefer to organize our business meetings in my country (Greece) and the second that the majority of them are drinking tooooooo much, better say that they prefer to get drunk with as many few drinks possible. Although I was thinking of Finish people as “the cold humans from North” they are very talkative and very well educated.
Back to Alcatraz now. I was there for approximately one hour and 4 girls approached me (from a total of 10-12). Three of them with the usual set of questions “Are you alone? Do you want company? etch. etch.” The forth one was more talkative but was a little bit tall for me (do not laugh, I am 1.75 cm and she was more than 1.85, I felt small!), and she had also some extra kilos. Generally I can say that most of the girls in Alcatraz they seemed to be extremely bored and none of them had something “attractive” in her looking. She laughed a lot, really she was laughing out loud, and replied to me “what is the cost for spending the night with your hand?”. I replied to her “12 Euros, this is the price for the Pay-TV in my room”. As you understand she was really an economist and that produced for me a problem. She asked for €400 for all night. I immediately kissed her in her chick and wished her a nice night. She then replied to me “Are you an economist and you don’t negotiate?”. I smiled to her and told “I was negotiating from 9 am to 7 pm today, this is really the last thing that I want to do now. At the same time I believe that you deserve these money, you will probably find some guy that has a more expensive Pay-TV than me in his room and I will go now for observe the odds in the roulette table”. She smiled and she went also for a walk around the bar.
About 15 minutes after I saw her speaking with another guy and after another 3 minutes they probably set the price and prepared to leave the place. OK it may be sound silly but I was jealous. I started moving to the exit just to see her again. I am sure that he understood that I still wanted her and on her way out she told to me “I’ll be here after 2 hours at most”. Believe it or no I decided to wait for her. She came back after 1 hour and 15 minutes. I offered her another drink and we started again to speak. I think we spend more than half an hour speaking and then she told me “Look, the night is now shorter so we can have breakfast together for € 250”.
Now I’ll make a parenthesis trying to explain a little about myself so you can maybe understand better my reaction. I am an average looking 38 y.o. man. I have a happy sex life, I am married the last 10 years and I have also occasional sex relationships. I am flirting a lot in all places except my office. I enjoy flirting and I am more interesting on seducing a woman than to “just fuck her”. OK that’s me.
So I replied to Marita “My love, I really want to be with you but I do not want to continue our relation on the basis of money exchange. Believe it or not I prefer to have dinner with you tomorrow than to pay you for going to bed tonight”. (and please believe it, I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH!). In this place I meet people for doing business with them”. I almost felt in love with her. We continued our chatting for another ten minutes and then I asked her telephone number and I left the place. I finished the night alone in my hotel room watching Pay-TV. :-p
The next day I called Marita at about 3 pm. We arrange a dinner at 7:00 pm. I selected a very nice restaurant and we spend some marvelous hours together. The rest is history. Probably after our dinner she went to Micado. The next day she had to go to Estonia for one week. I have to clarify that she didn’t came to bed with me. What happened is that we promised each other that the next time that I’ll be in Helsinki I’ll give her a notice some days before my trip. Another nice think is that we still exchange SMS until today (maybe 2 per month) concerning funny things.
After my dinner with Marita I decided not to go for pros and to go to a very well known Jazz club in Helsinki. The name is Storyville.
Storyville is a live-jazz club and a big meeting point. The ground level is very small and has a small bar and about 10 tables. The basement is a much bigger place and live jazz is performed there almost every night. During the night that I went there the quality of the music was fantastic! A lot of people there with late 30’s (or maybe early 40’s) being the average age. The place is not a paradise of course, there are some things in the decoration and especially in the area down after the stage that I do not like, but it is a place that fit a big part of my taste.
During the first hour I was enjoying the music and tried to make some eye contact with some interesting ladies in the club. I observed a small brunette lady with a nice looking. Slim body, small tits and a very interesting face. Her eyes were very active and she was also trying to make eye contact. Allover an 8 for my taste. I started play with her. From this moment and for the rest 1 hour I was alone with Nina having a wonderful talk that went from business issues to the Irvin Yalom books and then to human relations. She asked me if I was married and I replied positive. The music was now more of a dancing kind and I proposed her to dance (a lot of people were already dancing). She accepted and we spend the next 30 minutes dancing and drinking. Both of us we were a little dizzy from the wine and we started laughing while the dances were more figure demanding now and we tried to do our best. I am a good dancer and I hold her 2-3 times that she went to fall. The good band continued with a slow dance and we fold each other. As for general information for the would be commercial sex client in Helsinki Finland there isn't much to tell. If you scan the internet you will once again find the random fellow bragging about the great luck he had with the local girls and suggesting that *any* guy should be able to score with a civilian uber-babe for free like he did. And again in practice we find that there is no national tendency for loose women.
For pay, however, the options in Helsinki are starker than most cities in Europe or the US.

By far the primary method of action seems to be going to the Alcatraz Club and/or the Mikado Club. They are a short walk within each other and are in very safe parts of the Center City. You must be marginally presentable and not staggeringly drunk to gain entry. There is a cover charge of 10€ and 9€ respectively. While many of the posts I read seemed to lean towards the Mikado I found the Alcatraz more to my liking. It is smaller, but the prison theme is amusing and unlike the Mikado the Alcatraz has strippers...albeit one at a time at 20 minute intervals on a tiny stage with a single pole. On the other hand the Mikado has gambling...2 or 3 table games and 3 or 4 video poker/slot machines.
I am not sure if the strippers at the Alcatraz are available for off-campus action, but virtually all the other women you will find at both clubs are working professionals. To my view the women at the Alcatraz were more attractive on average but fewer in number. But the number of men was fewer as well. Alcatraz is just smaller than the Mikado.
For the most part the women working these clubs are migrating Russians or Estonians. The women at the Mikado skewed a bit older. it could be, however, that ones chances of getting a stunner is actually better at the Mikado. I noticed several show up and almost immediately pair off. So they are there. You just have to be decisive. For the most part the women will not approach you...but don't be shy. They *want* you to approach them, and they've heard *everything*.
Not sure when the party starts...perhaps 22:00 or so? The famous saying "all good things must come to an end". I recieved the news last night that Mikado is being closed on 22-Dec. The reason is due to political pressure and the fact that city hall doesn't want this establishment on the main street downtown.
