I recently traveled to Vaasa on business as well as journeying down to a couple of east European countries. I did not find any streetwalkers in Vaasa but have been told a few are in Helsiki.

When I was looking for tickets, there were many cheap flights that went through Estonia (Air Baltic). I think the Estonians are basically like Finns, similar in language and ethinic background, but Estonia is a little rougher around the edges. There is also a ferry between the two countries. It would not be terribly hard to visit both countries, but going to Estonia seems a little inconvenient even if only looking at additional travel time; if it was me I would stick to Finland, seems more civilized, seems the only reason to go further east is to save money, but Finland was not terribly expensive either, a beer is typically 5 Euros or less, hamburger and fries also under 5 Euros, I don't think I spent more than 30 Euros a day on food and drink, decent hotels under $100/night with breakfast included, and your chicks for free. Women buy their own drinks, very self sufficient, if one picks you up, chances are she has a decent place to take you back to. Summer temperatures are quite cool, like late spring or early fall in the U.S. mid-atlantic, I just wore t-shirts, but many people had light jackets. The sun does not seem to set, it was light out when I went to the bar at 11 pm, and it was light out when I came out at 4 am. As mentioned before, the summer holidays (around June 20-26) bring business to a grinding halt, which may affect things negatively for some; others seem to think holidays are easier time to meet people, although from my limited experience, it is easy to meet people anytime of the year, but many go away for the holidays so there may be fewer people to meet, unless you find your way to some festival outside of the city.

Well, a brief introduction to the geography of down town Tampere is in order. (6) on the map is a little cafe. There are many Cafe's on the main street, Hameenkatu, but they charge for refills.
