I made two mid-week visits and on the whole would give it a thumbs up. Here are some details.

It is located out of the city center, so it is nowhere near the rip-off tourist centers around Reeperbahn, but I would say it is definitely closer to the city than the older Atmos club and the 125 club. The first evening I took the S-Bahn out to Hammerbrook station and walked about 20 minutes from there. I wouldn't say Hamburg is a dangerous city but the walk is through an industrialized area, first pass car dealerships and then past many trucking companies on Sudstrasse. Interestingly, there is an active population of street girls spaced out every 25 meters as you get within a few blocks of the club. They probably service the truck drivers. At the end of the evening the club called me a taxi and it cost 15 Euros back to the city center. On my second visit I took the S-Bahn to Berliner Tor station and a taxi from there was 7 Euros. In Hamburg I like using the S-Bahn and a day pass valid on all public transport is cheap.

Now to the club. The entrance is set back at the rear of the car park. When you walk in there is a long reception counter where you pay 65 Euros and get a robe, sandals and locker / safe key (buffet and nonalcoholic drinks included). To the side of the counter are doors to a VIP room which is where they will sell you outrageously priced champagne and have girls sit with you. Needless to say I didn't try it. The next door takes you to the changing room and showers. All clean and well laid out. Then starts the tour of the club and my first impression was that it is huge and easy to get lost in. There is one very large main room with a bar and stools, a rarely used dance stage plus a large split level area with pool, sauna, steam and deck chairs and sports massage area (funny chalk sign outside the massage room says No Blowjobs, No Handjobs – massage only). From this one giant room lead several darkened corridors leading to what seems to be hundreds of private rooms where you can take your girl. My main criticism of the club is the size of that main room doesn't lend itself to any sort of cosy ambience. Next time you better take the S-Bahn from Hauptbahnhof to Harburg (I think it's 3 stations) an then a taxi in Harburg and you'll have more budget for fucking.

The taxi fare was never an issue, be it 40E or 50E, I was willing to pay that fare for a ride to Atmos. I just wanted to get there and start my fun. Quick taxi from our hotel cost us 20 euro. Not bad.

I've got some contract work coming up this month in Hamburg, and after scanning the posts I think I'm going to focus on Harmony. It looks like Harmony is *quite* far from town, and the taxi ride would likely get very pricy especially if going multiple times. It also sounds like some drivers don't know where it is (or claim not to) and as a non-German speaker I'm not sure I want to get into this. So the options I'm considering are:

1) bike / train. I know in many European cities you can bring a bicycle into certain cars. I find this a great and economical way to get around a new city, and it gives you access to a large area at minimal expense. Would this be feasible for Harmony? Specific concerns include whether bikes are allowed on the trains that go there, and how late is the last train? I've seen bike hires for around 50 euros / week. I gather that train alone involves a long walk at the end, which would be a lot quicker by bike.

2) Rent a car. I can get a car rental basically for free on frequent flyer points, but would have to pay for parking at a downtown hotel and petrol. Certainly this would be the easiest way to get to outlying clubs (and stay after the trains stop running), but not sure what downtown parking prices are like.

The bike would obviously be cheaper, but the car more flexible (and make weather less of a concern). If anyone can comment on whether either of these is a a bad idea (I. E. bikes not allowed on trains, or parking prices that would end up being far more than multiple return cab fares) I'd be grateful.

I have written my warnings as to the Reeperbahn area and the central station several times in this thread. If you want good sex for little money, I recommend the Maxstrasse 3 or Tonndorfer Hauptstrasse 120 (just use google maps to find it and HVV. DE how to go there with public transport). BC40 is not a brothel with a central entrance. All the girls work in different appartments with their own door bell. In case that you did not make an appointment, the girl did not open because of being "in service". You should make an appointment in advance or ring at the different door bells.
