I went last week to this place, Csengary 26.

The club is open from 3 pm to midnight (a bit later over week-ends). Don’t know if it is open on Sundays, just call to check.

Location is central and apparently safe, close to main avenue Andrassy St – Metro Oktogon. You can as well get there walking (30’) from Buda if you stay around the castle.

Look for a solid red door, ring the bell, you are in once they’ll have checked you don’t look too wild indeed. BTW ‘Business Sauna Club’ is not the name given on the plaque outdoor, but don’t worry, no confusion possible if you’re not daltonian.

You’re welcome by Frantz (nickname Frani ?), excellent manager, a nice and open guy who speaks a very goof german and a very acceptable english.

Inside there is a bar, 5 (tiny) rooms, one larger one with a kind of a stage, as far as I’ve seen, one sauna, one jacuzzi, and the lockers room (pretty messy).

Process is simple : you meet the girls, you talk to Frani to know which one does what, you make your pick (or not, there, no pb), and then the girl goes w/you to lockers, where you find a bathrobe and hawaianas. One shower after, you go to jacuzzi with her, and then up to the room. The room is virtually closed by a curtain only, there is no bed but an inflatable sofa in it, which one the girl quickly ‘transforms’ into a kind of bed-in-case. The confort is therefore pretty average, rather for camping fans. After the action, shower, bar, chat, lockers, and you are lighter of 25K (100 euros) plus various add-ons the girl is negociating as described in a previous report.

Stay away from the Old Man's Pub- Tons of drunk male tourists from the UK- the place is HORRIBLE! Negro is a pretty decent place- more upscale and not very big. I've seen Oscar's happening on some nights and LAME other nights. Budapest is so "hit or miss" with non-pro opportunities that it is difficult to come up with a game plan.

Zippy is correct about the bars in his post. Also, Budapest is really dead in the winter, I was here before in the summer and it is a totally different city. You can also try the Irish Cat Pub, I have been in there a few times and there are alot of single ladies there, but it is really packed on the weekends, standing room only. Also there is Cuba Libre, just another bar, has it's good nights and bad nights. Becketts is ok if your with a group, it mostly guys watching football, not much lady action there. The thing I have noticed here in Budapest is that if you can get in the groove with some locals the better your chances are to score. It is really hard being a foreigner here as far as scoring non-pros here. I have even noticed that the Pro scene is hard to find around here other than the Striptease clubs. Anyway, that is just what I have seen here, if you find anything better, let us know.

Some nights this likeably ramshackle underground bar and dance hall is just too packed, and must surely be a fire hazard. We're talking more than a disco inferno here. And that's it, our one gripe about one of the most fun Budapest nightspots." My feeling exactly.

But this does not solve the issue of the discussion here the last few days: where to find non-pro's in the 30-40 range. I must have been to Budapest 20 times in the last 2 years, but I have not been able to find a place where there is a possibility for some initial "non-threatening" interaction such as dancing.

Maybe one of you has a good place to suggest.

I was in Jam Pub in Buda last night and I can't recommend that place either. I've been there a few times now and while there are always a few lookers, they are usually with their Hungarian boyfriends. langercheaper options would be girls operating in private flats. a good website linking to other websites with private girls is sexindex.hu. some photos are obviously fake. judging from forums on those websites (well, my hungarian is crap) i think that locals pay 10.000/8.000huf for 1h/0,5h but girls tend to charge more to foreigners (15.000, 20.000 sometimes even 25.000 huf). let them know you are familiar with local prices and they will decrease them.

other cheaper options would be peep-show places, but they are rather sleazy.

don't know a lot about street action. there are often a few girls cruising around hotel kempinsky and le meridien at night, but they are not very good looking and they tend to charge a lot.

The first is called the "CandyShop" and it is located near Moskva *** (for some reason the censor is not letting me type in the Hungarian name for "square" so in English, it is located near Moscow Square) in Buda. correct it is an industrial zone, not suitable for walking although i did not see the usual pimps, drug pushers you usually see in such places. Just a quick update on the ever-changing strip club situation here in Budapest. I have reported in the past that the only 2 legitimate clubs which I know of (not rip-off establishments) are CandyShop in Buda and Marilyn's in Pest.

I just learned last night that the western owners of CandyShop have packed up and moved to a much bigger facility on the outskirts of Pest. The grand opening was on Friday and it is now called the "4Play" Club. Their motto states "Strip - Steaks - Sports". I went last night and it is an awesome facility. They have all kinds of sporting events on while the girls strip. The kitchen will open up in a couple of weeks. The owners are a guy from Texas, another from Canada, and a couple of English blokes.

I do not know if the Gellert is girl friendly, only been there once. Pretentious place, not much to offer, you pay a lot for past grandeur, watch out though going to the sauna, on some evenings it is mainly visited by gays. I have never had any problems in any of the hotels I have stayed in in Budapest to take a girl up to my room. They never had to register, I never had to pay extra.

Having said that, I always take them up myself, normally after dinner/dance. Only once I organised a girl to come up to my room on her own, but the girl was organised by the bell-boy, so obviously not a problem.

My suggestion is, if you organise the girls through an agency, to ask them if it will be a problem or not. Just be very specific and tell the agency that you want the girl to go straight to the room, tell them (obviously) which hotel you are in and they will tell you if this is a problem or not. That scare story seems a common theme in many sections of the EE sections of this forum. So it's just a matter of trying to spot the scam before it escalates into something you can't get out of.

It is a problem in Budapest in my experience (have been there 25+ times in the last few years) always depending on your age of course. I am mid 40's and have as yet not been able to identify a place where during the week a lot of over 30's meet up.

I do not know in which hotel you are staying, but in some it is obviously easier to get to your room without being seen than others.

I have stayed in many different ones, I now tend to stay at the NH-Hoteles on Vigszinhas (?). Clean, not too expensive for BUD, a good 15 min walk from Negro and others and not too far from Oscar's by taxi etc.

Besides the international chains (which are expensive) the local hungarian hotels are most of the time in need of serious refurbishment (or just bomb the place and start again). Depending on your budget, take NH, Sofitel, Radisson, Hilton (be careful there are two Hiltons, one on Buda hill which is great if you like castles, but I would go for the Hilton at West End, in the center). NH Hotel is just as centrally located.

Try hotelshungary.com, find the one you fancy, and then google them to see if you can find a better rate somewhere else. NH can not be booked through that website, but you can use the corporate website.

Hello Guys

Just to give a little more information, from the center of town (Pest side of the river) at the Petofi Bridge turn left facing the river, the Mercure Hotel is at that junction on your left. Follow the main road out of town, signposted SZEGED, for about 5Kms. On your left you will pass an AGIP petrol station, followed 100m later by a SHELL petrol station. You are almost at the area you need.

Continue until the road has a place for making U-turns (a slip-road to the left) and double back. You are on SOROKSARI street, and at the first set of traffic lights turn right, into TIMOT street. Nothing much happens there, but at the first cross-roads turn right again, and the girls stand all along here. I will answer your PM here if you do not mind. On the massage clubs I have no information, but there are a few reports about them in the thread. No experience so I can not help, sorry. If anybody has any good or bad experiences, please post them so I can add them to the Boring Budapest list.

About rip-off clubs, for me the answer is clear. If there are no reports about a specific club as being safe, just avoid them. Do not visit.

However the defintion of "club" here is only the strip joints, all the other clubs (normal clubs let's say) are quite safe, normal prices, good crowds. The clubs listed on www.inyourpocket.com are no problem at all. It is only the strip clubs which are a problem.

As far as scams is concerned where girls offer to help you and later extort some money out of you, I have no idea. I am sure it has happened, but in my 40+ visits to BUD it has never happened to me. But as a general comment, I would say that women in central europe are quite traditional in the sense that they expect the man to take the initiative, so if you are approached by a woman first, be aware that there might be a hidden agenda, unless of course you look like Brad Pitt in an Armani suit :). And I would even be more careful if they approach you in the street, just nod friendly, say goodnight and continue walking.

At the same time, let's not exagerate. In my experience the city center of BUD is quite safe, also late at night. I have been walking around the city center at 4-5 in the morning, on my own, never had a problem. Also not in the clubs or bars, never even seen any aggresive behavior. The only place where I felt unsafe was Old Man's, but that was more because I thought the place was a fire hazard. Other BUD travelers love the place though and say it is a good pick up place.

If you need any further information, do not hesitate to ask. BUD is not an easy place to monger, besides the many many apartments (which is not my thing), not many options for a reasonable amount of money.

When I go to Budapest I use the services of Thomas Apartments http://www.budapest-apartments-rent.com/ which might not be to your liking but they are comfy, centrally located and quite cheap (and even include a return trip to the airport free of charge). The other tips in regards to airport transport are use the airport/hotel minibus service (outside Terminal 1) which drops you off to any major city hotel for a very reasonable 5000 forints or if you have time to spare and it is not too late at night, you can catch a public bus from the airport which takes you to one of the underground rail stations (red line I think) on the city's outskirts (its a 45 minute trip all up though).

I do as the Voice suggested, take a fix priced taxi in front of the terminal for 5000 HUF. There is a little stand outside the terminal (at least in T2 there is), they give you a "voucher" which you pay to the taxi driver for a fixed price and they will bring you anywhere to the city.

Once you are in BUD, use of the taxi's listed on www.inyourpcocket.com (http://www.inyourpocket.com/hungary/budapest/en/category?cid=3085&chid=342). They are normal priced and the operators speak english. Avoid taking any taxis in the street, you will get ripped off most of the time. They seem to have a special "fuck the foreigner" button which makes the meter go 10 times faster.

No idea when the minibus stops, never taken one.

Whatever you do, I would strongly advise against the Gellert. Beautiful building, some renovated rooms, some very very old. I stayed there once, expensive and at the time no internet in the rooms, creaking floors, old bathroom, nice for 80 year old tourists from Japan who enjoy some "old europe". Also there is nothing around it, you need to cross the river to get to the Pest side.

Try www.hotelshungary.com for good deals. I always stay in the NH-hoteles, good alternative to the 5* chains, close to a major shopping mall, 20 min walk to places like Negro's.

But again, if you go there just for the "sport", I would go to Warsaw (or as suggested Prague, but I do not know Prague very well).

After having read extensively past reports on Budapest, I have a couple of questions that I would like the more experienced gentlemen to answer (VandalInn and Gene Simmons if you hear me...):

1- About 'The Rich and Old Club', the starting price of 10.000 HUF was mentionned. How far does that get you (time and activities wise)? Are tips the way to go for extra favours or should everthying be discussed prior to the moment when one is left alone with the girl of choice?

Thanks Gene for the info. If this is the price for a "night" or in any case can be negociated for a longer period of time, it is actually for BUD not so bad. The main agencies charge E 200-250 for 2 hrs and you have the added disadvantage that you do not know the girl, so you have no idea if it clicks or not. Turns out it no longer exists, at least no longer as the Rich and Old Club (nor where there any Hungarian translations of any such name on the door bells). Rather it has been replaced by LG International, or some such name. I guess not much else has changed though.

I rang ond after having found the heavily protected, camera-equipped white dorr on the groud level had the door openened by a chubby early 20s young Hungarian girl. Not what I would call attractive. Her English? Inexistent.

As I was not immediately invited in I started to wonder if this was the place after all and tried to ask in my broken Hungarian. At this point one of her colleagues showed up: same age, much prettier but with a pot belly that I did not find attractive.

I just got back from Budapest and it is clear to me, that if you speak English you are a taregt to be ripped-off.

1) Over the 5 days I was there, at least 10 different pairs of girls approached me on the streets. The line was almost exactly the same each time. Do you speak English? If so, do you know where there is a pub? Let's go have drinks together. Etc. They will scam you out of your money.

2) A prevoius post listed strip clubs to avoid, as they are sure rip-offs. Add to the list MAMBO.

I went there, was seated, and asked for a beer. The waitress brought me one and said, that will be 150, 000 forints. Thats like 60 euros. I said no way. She said there is a 3 drink minimum. I said forget it and started walking out. Suddenly I was surrounded by 4 big bouncers. To make a long story short, I compromised by buying 1 beer for 20 euros and got the hell out of there.

3) Girls posts on web sites like redzone and pirolampa and the prices go up if you speak English. Many girls who advertise that they speak english don't.

I will not go back to Budapest for mangoring.

Allow me a few comments on the agency Le Fantasy as I used them extensively in the past in Budapest. In 2003 and 2004, I travelled quite a bit to Budapest and often booked one of the Le Fantasy girls. I would have met about 10-12 of them, so could be considered to be a good customer. Sessions were usually overnight and I would say that two were very, very poor while the rest were good to very good - a good batting average for an agency.

Sugar1 ( Hi Angela :-)), runs a good operation that is willing to listen to requests for further information on the girls and requests and to make recommendations. I never had a girl booked not turn up. The 'station manager' - Judy in Budapest was a delight and worked hard to keep the girls up to the mark and the guests informed if there was to be any change of plans. The Gold membership scheme is one that I belonged to but it lapsed as I haven't been to Budapest for awhile now - it was good value as it provided a discount from the charges which I see have crept up in the last two years. i went looking for the street scene - just walked around to see what is obvious.

It is moving in that direction Psmith - however the laws of supply and demand usually bring things back into line.

What something is worth is simply set by the supply, the demand, and the cost of providing the service. Budapest has been moving up - Prague not so much. If the cost of living goes up substantially in an area, usually so will the prices.

We have a couple of forces currently in play in Europe that are beginning and will accelerate a reduction in prices, in my opinion.

Three major monger costs are airfares, hotels and currency rates.

Our American brothers are already feeling the pain of all three in Europe and it will get worse in 2007 as they check their holiday plans.

Airfares are moving up quickly, hotels ditto and the Euro is killing them.

Fewer Customers from this quarter in 2007 - less demand for services - girls getting bored and providing more flexible prices, I predict, or at least hold the line. For European based brothers - the airfares and hotel story comes into play if not the currency issue - again less demand - and the girls will have to adjust prices downward or maintain.

If you look through the threads on ISG, you will already see the complaints, and reduced expectations for travel for the hobby.

Also as usual, the really top providers and value providers will do well, perhaps even better than before. There is a natural tendency to "buy less" but "buy a better product" when you do when things are as described above. The Liquor industry has known and used this for many years.

I was in Budapest recently and took a taxi from the airport into the center, I stayed at the LeMeridien. You can take a shuttle that I believe runs all night long. The cost is about 39000 Hungarian Forints (round trip) or about $20 USD. From what I am told most taxis will try to get much more from you for a ride into the city.

It's unbelievable somebody from this forum still falls into this scam. There have been tons of warning against Doce Vita here, and the US Embassy even officially put it on a black list here (http://budapest.usembassy.gov/tourist_advisory.html) (link already given tens of times in this forum).

I wanted to warn others. I don't know if I will go back to Budapest for all the fucking scams. Especially to English speaking men. I know that this type of scam has happened and read it but wanted to post my fucked up experience.

Anyways, went to Dolce Vita club on a rainy afternoon. I was pretty much they only man in the joint. Also, I was by myself which is not good. Anyways, two girls come over to my seat and ask for drinks. I buy them a drink each which I am getting to wonder how much this will cost. Then one does a sexy dance with all clothes next to me. I ask for my bill and it was around $800 USD. I can't believe my fucking mind. My options are try to fight my way out by myself. Bouncer is covering the exit. I decide to charge my credit card since I had no choice. I thought of calling the police but I don't know if they would have done anything. I am sure the Mafia is involved. As I am walking to my hotel room two girls approach me and ask me to join them for a drink in the restaurant at top of hotel. Do not do this shit! It is also a fucking scam.

Bottomline. Women in Budapest are fucking Nagyon Szep (very pretty) but I recommend jacking off to some good Hungarian porno and go to Germany's FKK clubs for some cheaper action and you can get some good GFE experience.

You know that you can put a stop on the credit card transaction? I'd suggest that you contact your cc provider and ask them to do so because you were a victim of crime and was forced to sign. I know something similar that has happened to others and they had the cc transaction reversed. Your provider should do this without to much hassle, though it would be helpful if you filed a report with the local police.

I found a couple phone numbers in the hotel tv guide (in English) and I gave them a call. I think it's called Vanessa Agency. Euro 250 or Forint 55000 for 2 hours. I really had no idea of what to expect of the girl and I kind of had a bad feeling that the agency was targeting foreigners staying at top hotels. They're in it for the quick buck and if they can, they’ll lie and cheat to get more money, particularly from foreigners. So be very careful. I'm just back from Budapest, and I want to share with you my experience in that wonderful city.
