2 comments, first not about Ro but about this website. I know I should post somewhere else but this is the Forum I look at most. for the past week every time I loging this site, i get a couple of pop-up ads, and my cpu downloads .exe files. what is up with this? Is it really from this site or from another?

I haven't been to Ro for awhile but the price for full service depends where you look and where you are staying.

I once stayed at a 30 USD night hotel just for a couple of nights b4 upgrading to a nicer hotel. (I'm young and don't give much a shit abt the quality of hotel rooms because I only sleep in them at most) The night manager and I were standing outside the hotel, having a smoke. I was scoping the scene bc there was a strip bar next store. And out walked (from the hotel, 2 strippers/hookers with 2 police officers) after doing their deed.

Then 2 mafia type guys kept asking if i want a girls and that they would get me one from the strip bar. they disappeared, doing other (probably illegal shit.) In the meantime An older lady (the pimp) and a nice young girl (legal age) walked by. They talked to the hotel manager and asked if i wanted her? i said no, but after they walked 100 metres down the street i changed my mind since the mafia guys had not brought a girl back yet. I got FS from the girl (beautiful 19 year old) for 40USD an hour. She was great but her english was bad...but i got a second hour for another 40USD. I tipped her an extra 20 for her not to give to her pimp.

Yes you can get FS in Buch for less than 100, but it depends on your hotel and your age. If you stay at the Intercontiental, they know you have money and will charge you much more.

I am in my 20's so i got many girls for free. I paid for others, some good and some bad, 1 pop for 2 hours, 100+ Usd, feels like a ripoff.

One girl worked at a strip bar and did late night outcall. she came over at abt 6 am, did me once and wanted to coudle the rest of the time. She gave me her mobile #, said she had to go home to sleep but that she wanted to cook me dinner around 6pm, after her nap but b4 she went back to the strip bar at 10 pm. I told her ok, but never followed up fearing some sort of scam and i had to visit friends for dinner anyway

Back to the subject:

There used to be a review site in RO language, where the girls we seeing advertising on many sites for 100 USD/EURO are only charging Romanians 30-50 USD/EURO
The site was here in this forum but then changed servers, and I lost track of them.

Cheap sex takes research, time, and maybe some work. I still find it silly that RO girls want to charge more than in Hungary, Slovakia, Czech, even more than a fkk (or ffk) in Germany.

Capitalists and their greed ;) finally reached the eastern bloc.

Shit, 100 USD would pay 3 months rent to my old RO gf in Bucharest, in her apartment near the mall. CraZy

I will be in Bucharest for a few days in mid June, and have booked a room on the Internet (centrally located, well-furnished). I read elsewhere that it was better to be in an apartment than in a hotel room to "invite" a lady of the night.

I don't know what the quality of the room will be, but it looked OK on the Internet.

As for the ladies, I have visited a few sites offering escort services, and prices vary from €50 to over €300 per hour. As I am not the kind of guy to rely on my sweet talking, I'll make a few phone calls. Has anyone any more useful tip, ie website or number to suggest ?

A few comments.

It's been alittle while since I was in RO but some of this is sure to still hold true.

1st check out www.inyourpocket.com b4 you go to Ro. They when you get there buy a copy, available at many bars and restaurants and hotels. This 1 euro handbook is great. It has honest opinions about bars and restaurants. They tell you which take credit cards and which don't. It is updated every month. The physical version that you can get in RO is much more extensive than the website. I never knew about it until i went to an Irish Bar in Buch and the cute barmaid took a copy off the shelf and started highlighting all the good disco's and bars. I called it my "golden book" I went to great restuarants that chrged 25 USD for what would cost 150+ in the states. That is an easy way to impress a lady, Good food and good wine ;)

2nd, for Hans37

"planters, office, salsa and similar places"

These, in my opinion, never seemed like places for pros or semi-pros. They are places where RO women want to meet a nice foreigner or rich RO guy. It is not "too" difficult to get laid there, if you live in Bucharest. It is much easier if they have seen you there b4. Not they talked to you but that they have seen you in RO for over a week or 2. These girls are looking for nice husbands or potential husbands. They might fuck you the first night if they think that you live in RO. These girls are not always stupid, they are looking for a nice guy to treat them right and will do the same. Alot of the girls I met at Planters and the Office are educated, many working for international companies as secretaries. They have seen the good life and want more, especially since they earn 5-8000 USD a year and their bosses are earning 100,000+ a year.

The hotel that I stayed at was Muntenia, on STR. Academiei 19-21. I am not sure what it is like now, they were doing renovations their when I left. In general, it was a shithole, just old and broken down. the price when I was there was about 25usd a night but now probably 35usd. I consider it one step above a youth hostel, but below most other hotels.

The first time I went there, we were a bunch of guys who didn't care and the hostel was filled and Muntenia has a great location in the center of downtown. We didn't care abt rooms because we were drinking most of the time.

They didn't have any prob with taking girls to the room, and they even offered the desk girl to my friend at 8am, after a night of drinking just because he told her that she was really pretty (and she was.)

I found a new website recently that shows pics of people at many of the bars in Buch from Friday and Saturday nights. www.inout.ro. It might help you get a feel for girls.

For semi-pros and pros:

There will be alot of pimps and girls outside within a few blocks of major hotels. I remember walking by a nice hotel 2 blocks from Muntenia, and young pimps harassing me, do i want a young girl???, i said nu (no) and kept walking, then they asked if I want a boy, i turned around and said NU/NO, the guy was very agressive and then he tried to spit on me. I stopped, turned around and put my fists in the air (fighting mode) (I am not a violent person but had to pretend to be) and the guy quickly retreated.

If you meet a girl at a bar it is usually less than 150 a night. If she is a student and likes you it could be less than 50. Or free. It all depends on you, her and the situation.
Unfortunately in RO things are not as clear as in the Czech Republic.

It's kind of strange to see so many great posts and so many bad posts on the scene there. I guess people either love it or hate it? Romania is on my list of countries to hit. Is Bucharest really one of the grimmest cities in Europe as Roger Mellie posted?? Is there anything of interest culturally or historically to see in the town? Tell me it ain't so.. :(

I met a Romanian non-pro in Paris that I see when I'm in town and she is one of the sweestest, most intelligent, great in bed girls I've met on all my journeys. I had high hopes for Romania after meeting her but those hopes are lower after reading Roger's post. Are they accurate?

I whole-heartedly agree with Roger Mellie that Bucharest is the greyest, most grim city that I have ever seen. Even many Romanians agree that Bucharest is an ugly city. Not just the sites are ugly, but many Romanians consider the people of Bucharest to be "ugly" as well. Not physically, but personality wise, people in Bucharest tend to have a more elitist, western, stuck up attitude towards Romanians who live outside Bucharest compared to those who live in Bucharest. I guess it's like comparing someone who lives in the Upper west side of NYC, to someone living in project housing in Queens. And yet I would rather live in project housing in Queens than most parts of Bucharest....

The best places to see in Romania as far as culture and beauty is concerned is in the Transylvania region. The mountains in Brasov are great in the summer for hiking and site seeing, and they are nice in the winter too for skiing. The northern "Moldovian" region of Romania is like a wasteland as well I think. I've never been to the western parts of Romania like Timisora, or the eastern parts like Constanta, so I can't speak to those, but I really think if you are going to go to Romania for culture and to experience good food, and nice sites, you should goto Brasov.

The women there are also knockouts in Brasov.

Guys:

Bucharest is what you make of it. I had an ongoing pm discussion with Mr. Mellie about this. It's not the kind of place where you can hope to fulfill everything in a day or two. You need to spend much longer (maybe three weeks? ) to get a feel for how stuff works, meet some people, etc.

If you're in Bucharest and run into some bad luck then it's going to look like this suckiest place in all Europe. But then again you can meet some great young girl who will make the city seem like a paraside. Just do your homework: Read the old posts for sure.

My personal experience: First time there was rotten. Second time was better. Then third was awesome, etc. If you don't have the resources, then you might think about some place else in Europe.

About the price vs. quality: It's very hit and miss. For the 500k lei price, you might get a bad one, or a very good one. Just remember: If you don't like the offer, send her home. No one is forcing you to pay just becuase she showed up.

If anyone has found some good prices on lodging (apartments) in Bucharest, please pm me! Haven't cracked that one yet.

To follow up: I only said Bucharest was the greyest, grimmest CAPITAL city I had ever seen. I have seen grimmer cities - in the kuzbass coal mining region of central Siberia for example - but never a capital city that even came close to Bucharest.

This is not to say its difficult to score there or hard to find cute freebies, just that the general atmosphere and state of Bucharest is far worse than much poorer cities like Kiev, and miles behind the cheerful, stylish upbeat crowd and atmosphere you get in Riga or Tallinn.

The freebies you do find tend to be less cute and less stylish than freebies in aforementioned cities. Their hair is always either bottle blonde or bottle black - anything in between seems 'uncool' to Romania. The girls seem far more likely to be grumpy than girls in Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania.

If you go there in isolation, I am sure you will enjoy the place. You will get birds, and they will be better than the eqivalent birds in the west. And as I have said before, Bucharest is ridiculously cheap. My point however, comes in the comparison with other cities in eastern europe (EE) - not in comparison with the west. In comparison with other cities in EE, Bucharest has a much lower quality of girls, much more limited city life and atmosphere, a grimmer city all round. The freebie birds are far less likely to shag on the first night than in other eastern european cities and even then, Romanian girls rarely if ever do anal sex, whereas it is 'de rigour' in many other EE countries, and that applies whether you are talking one night stands, gfs or working girls.

I was in Bucharest and I tried some of the housing reference I found here. Well after a few disappointing tries I went in a very elegant and confortable apartment right in the center. I had no problem at all and it is better than my own apt back home!

Bucharest is a very easy city to find a pro in, but not in the ways and places you might suspect. There are massage parlors that offer "erotic masage" where you can't get much more than a backrub, and some lap dance places where you can't get anything more than the dance. There are also places where you can get it all or take the girl out, paying a barfine.

But some of the hotels are decidedly unfriendly to visitors.

It's best to rent an apartment (you can do this for as little as a three-day weekend, in my experience). Get as close to the center as possible. I find the University or the Piata
Unirii subway stops particularly good locations.

I find if you take the escalator down into the subway (there is a sort of mini-mall down there, you can get a decent lunch cheap) and back up the odds are good you will be approached by a woman asking what time it is. If you don't speak Romanian, show her your watch. She'll hold your hand while checking the time, and then probably make you an offer.

This is not a joke -- from 2 pm to 10 pm this worked so often I had to avoid the subway if I didn't want to get laid. From dusk on, the girls walk the strip on the street parallel to Victoria. It's name changes every 3 blocks or so, at the University subway stop it's called Magheru or Balcescu.

If you've got an apartment within a few blocks of this stroll, day or night it's no problem to find a girl. After dark if you don't want to take a chance on the streets (and there are some ripoffs in the works) you can go to the strip clubs that allow takeout and just do it. To save bucks, avoid the "private area" in the clubs, where you have to pay big bucks for undrinkable champagne. If an interesting girl sits next to you and asks for you to buy her a drink, find out what it costs first -- it can be a ripoff. If it is, you can skip ahead and ask what a takeout costs. Sometimes it's a reasonable 15 euros or so. In general, though, I found Romanian money (Lei, pronounced "lay") to be the best currency to be dealing in. In the clubs if the woman doesn't speak english, french, whatever, someone else will.

Prices do vary, but I found several good deals (3-4 hours of activity, with breaks for showers together and snacks) for what worked out to be $40-$50 in local currency. The first offered price is highly negotiable, I find.

I am sorry that some of you have such a negative view on Bucharest and the ladies within. I personally have had extremely wonderful times with the girls I have been with. They have taken me out and about in the city, and to some of the greatest treasures hidden within. And I really mean hidden! Wind your way through 18 different poorly kept streets and you will find yourself at a nice little house. Enter and there are a handful of GORGEOUS women to choose from.

Sure the city may be dirty and ragged, but think about where they have just came from and what they have to work with. When you have a country that has a problem with it's citizens selling their babies so they can eat, do you really think the country has the cash for a beautification project? Hell, the city budget does not even allow for a dog/cat catcher.

Things are getting better there. Personally,I expect RO to become a major world wide travel destination in the next 10 years.

I'm off to Bucharest this weekend. I've had limited luck on the Friend Finder type sites with making contact but we'll see where it goes once I get there.

Accomodations: I've been working with eastcomfort.com and they seem to be pretty user friendly.

P4P: So far I've received a few bites from Angelina Escort which seems to have some pretty decent package type deals including accomodations but no reviews about quality. PM me for a link if interested.

Geriatno, about the Internet access: There is some broadband. But it seems like a *****. I think they are charging something like 100 euro per month for it. And that doesn't include the computer. I was ok just using the Internet cafe. What do you need broadband for anyway? I don't know how easy dialup is. I know that in the private apartments that the fixed telephones are hard-wired to the wall. (That is, there is no jack to connect your laptop to.) God, I'm going through Romania withdrawal right now. I was in Bucharest for a week in november last year. I was seeing some friends, but in the night I had some time by myself to sniff around for some action. When it comes to Bucharest as a city, there might be different opinions about it. Either you love it or you hate it. Bucharest has a lot of history to offer, and some fantastic buildings. For example "The House Of People" which ios the second largest building in the world, next to Pentagon. Romania is also so cheap that you wont beleave it. I am from Norway and I got 30 times more for my money in Romania than I do in Norway. So I highly recommend you to check out Bucharest for a few days.

A friend and I were in Leonardos on Strada Ion Cuza (not far from the station) about two weeks ago. Nice place, great girls but the usual Bucharest problem: way over the odds on the price front.

Foreign business as well as Romania's citizens are realizing the business opportunities and are, as expected, capatalizing on it.

High class Romanian women know that they can charge $200-$300 and get away with it.

A) It's more money than their working-stiff friends make in a whole month, so why not try. Even with one date in a whole month they've got it made.

B) They know non-Romanians pay that amount anyway from where they/we come from (USA, UK, Germany.)

From what I saw (again, with the qualifiers above), the locals do not compare favorably in any category to women you see in the Slavic states (Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus). They don't dress nearly as well and are five or ten pounds heavier on average. I'm not sure they're as smart, either.

Checked out The Office on Friday night and it was closed for some reason. Checked out Jack Daniel's Downtown Bar up the street. Men outnumbered women by 3:2, and the women who were there were unimpressive, 4-5 at best. Strolled down to Planter's to see what the fuss was about, same story. I took the benefit of this site for my travel to different other countries, so I think it makes sense for me, in return, to post a bit about my own country.

It is indeed pretty dangerous for foreigners (but not only) to be trapped by pimps, mainly gipsies. Several of them could be OK, most not. Their only one target is your cash.

1. Internet. Pretty difficult to get a decent find, but some success could be reported. Time is necessary for many exchanges but please consider to pay 100-200 EUR for one night...

Newspapers like ANUNT, at MATRIMONIALE, have many phone numbers, all cell, from ladies offering pleasure against your cash. The normal payment is 800 - 1500 K ROL (20-38 EUR) for one hour, but there is no guarantee on the look, measurements and quality of service, for example even if on the phone you negociate 2 or more numbers, they may say that another customer is waiting, etc. They may say that oral is w/o condom, but... And the neighborhood could be not so nice... Don't take much more money with you, just for the taxi. Don't take the passport and other valuables, a photocopy could be OK. If takeing the girl into your room at hotel or rented apartment, please make sure you money and valuables are very well hidden. Postpone your shower after she leaves, in a few minutes she may put you into severe problems... Take a special care at the cell phone and cash.

At Night Clubs there is a double chanrge: by the owner, due to the very high prices you pay for the lady's drinks. Never order a champaign, you pay 20-50 times more than normal. I recently spent three weeks in Romania, mostly in Bucharest.

As others have pointed out, Romanian women are probably the most beautiful in the world, as they combine the Latin temperament and looks with the East European feminine charm and willingness to please. Bucharest is the place where I had the WORSE P4P experiences and the BEST GFE's. I would say that in bucharest it is much more possiable to find cheeper escorts. the biggest problem is that in prague it is much more organised. I even met a guy who paid 60 euros for a trip that should cost no more than 3 euros. I doubt anyone in the US paid more than 20 times than the correct taxi fare. There is a massage studio, if you speak English, the rate is 60 euro an hour. However, if you speak Romanian, you pay 20 euros. I found out so many times I overpaid for things after the fact when I had my Romanian friends call to check the price for me. (I do that when I suspect I was over-charged.) Of course people get cheated in the US too. But I would say it is extremely unusual for foreigners to be targeted compared to Romania. (I have many foreigner friends in the US and I have never heard any of them complained about getting cheated because they are foreigners.) I do not know what Vlad2005 is asking for to help out a foreigner. But I do know it is good idea to have some local people to help you out while you are here.

If 25 for the whole day is extreamly low and 50 is the norm than ok. I just wanted to know why you paid so much more than the other guy? This is not a flame, just a question.

To be honest, I'd like to take your words into consideration. It's become VERY obvious to me that there are several different opinions on what a "good bang for a buck" means. But whatever, apparently this debate could go on forever, and would take me from my point. Like I said, I'd like to take your comments on my ability to "survive" in Buc to mind, but unfortunately, you leave me with nothing to reference. I agree with Visper about brothels.
You can even find them in the center of the city, you even don't know to take a taxi. Price was 20 dollars for about 20 minutes. So if they ask more, just say 20 dollars and nothing more...

There are perhaps some other brothels around the city in some suburbs, but why to go there if there are already some in the center or near the center.
