It is a mistake to just talk about legal versus illegal, and just call every place a brothel.

Purchasing and selling sex is legal in Barcelona. Pimping, pandering, public solicitation and operating a brothel without a license is illegal. From a customer's perspective, he doesn't have to work about going to an unlicensed brothel; any legal issues are between the operator and the vice department.

The big commercial walk-in line-up brothels in Barcelona do not have any concept of Branding. It takes 17 mnts to walk from the club to the bus stop. Less than 5 E with the bus. I bet you even can afford the 5 E cab ride to the bus stop and skip the walk.

Raval is the worst neighborhood, followed by Barceloneta. I'd say if you are coming to visit steer clear of Raval for sure. Definitely do not stay there. And in the other areas near there just keep your eyes open.

Until Mayor changes, not sure how much worse it will get before it gets better.

Places I frequented 10 years ago:

Typically Top Damas and Felinas were 70 E /30 back then. Today it's 65 E /30 at Top Damas, so cheaper at first glance. But upselling is worse, and I think most firsttimers would need to pay another 20 E extra for BBBJ.

The most legendary club back then; Club Riviera, was 60 E /30 (closed down in 2009).

Club Privee in Salou was 60E/30 in 2005- 09. Less than two years ago it was 70E/30 (BBBJ/DFK included), so not much has changed.

First off, let me start off with a big thank you to Chubzy, Mongerer, Shark and other regular contributors on this forum. You have been incredibly helpful in planning my trip.

I'll be spending 3 days in BCN towards the end of Aug. I have done all of my research on this site and elsewhere as suggested by the senior members and what I have come up with is:
