I am going to be in the south of Spain for a couple of months and I am arriving in Madrid by air from Amsterdam, prior to taking the train to Málaga. I'm the Spanish guy who stayed at Capt. Dave's house one year ago. I am not a 100% reliable source of information regarding your question, but your checked-in baggage will definitely be sniffed (either by dogs or by electronic noses). Depending on where you make the customs procedure, your hand luggage will be scanned either at Amsterdam or at Madrid. And I do not know what would happen if they catch you with marijuana. If I am not mistaken in Spain you can have a small amount for personal consumption. Since you probably want to have enough for your stay, that could very well go over the personal allowance.

However, Argentinian friends of mine have travelled several times with yerba mate in their backpackis without problems. So:

(a) if customs want to catch it, they will definitely catch it if it goes in the checked-in luggage.

(b) if it goes in your hand luggage, you will no be subject to sniffing, and if the scanner reveals something, it will probably be no very different from yerba mate (from a scanner's point of view). You can also put it inside a yerba mate bag.

However, if you are worried about being caught, why not trying to get hold of some marijuana right in Malaga? Probably the quality will not be the same, but.

Great map! I was just about to post that I happened to see the Google street view for Factory Air, but you beat me to it! BTW, there is NO reason for Google to photograph that street in the middle of an industrial park, unless the photographer was a fellow hobbyist. Another reason Google will take over the world.

Regarding quality, it is very variable, as in any big brothel, it depends on the moment you arrive. If you are lucky, you can find several 7s and some 8 in the line-up. Concerning nationalities, it is possible you can find some Spanish and some Russian or Romanian, but most of the girls will be South American. If you don't like any of the girls in the line-up, tell the madam to introduce some other girls, and specify characteristics and/or nationalities you prefer. After a long days travel I find myself at a hotel in Madrid, conveniently located at the intersection of Gran Via and C/ Montera. Quick shower and hit the streets to get my bearings. LA CALLE MONTERA

Never has a grand city had such an impressive street devoted to street walkers as the Calle Montera of Madrid. The more famous Madrid spots, such as Flowers Park, Vive Madrid, Factory Air, and Diana Plus, are either located a bit far or very far from the city center or they charge over 100 Euros for a 30-minute session. In my aim to get the best service at the lowest price, I decided to try out only one of these places: The ESTARK bar attached to the DIANA PLUS HOTEL.

The Diana Plus Hotel is located just outside of central metro Madrid, but it can still be reached by metro: Take the One Line (the light blue line) to Sierra de Guadalupe and then catch a taxi outside the station. The taxi ride from the metro station to Diana Plus should be about 5 or 6 Euros. Going back late at night, wait for a taxi outside the club. A taxi ride back to Callao in the city center at night should cost only about 15 Euros, but with a lame driver it could be as much as 20 Euros or more.

As a fan of the Frankfurt FKKs, I must say that Diana Plus can’t really compare. First, the bar area where the girls are is very small; everyone is basically packed in like sardines. Second, the moment you walk in you are grabbed at by the girls, either physically or verbally. And even when you are finally able to get an expensive beer (think it was 10 Euros) and find a somewhat quiet spot maybe 1 foot away from another person, you have only a few minutes to drink in peace before another girl approaches you with her spiel.

Regarding Calle Montera, you have no other choice except follow them to a cheap short time hotel nearby. I doubt any of them will want to lose the time to go to your hotel/residence.

I had a chance to visit Madrid recently and, thanks to some posts here, and on the Spanish board Spalumi, I decided to branch out beyond the highway clubs and look for more "value for money." One of the places I tried was Sexencias, which is near the Avenida de la Paz Metro in the northeast part of town. It's a "chalet" in a residential part of town, perfectly safe. I have to admit that I was not impressed by the 4-5 women presented to me, but I decided to give Jessica a try since she gets good reviews on the Spanish board.

Flowers Park is another place, in the same concept as Estark. It also lies outside the city, approx. 20-30 minutes to the northeast, in a suburb called Las Rozas. I have done both, and based on my own experiences, I would say they are very different one form the other. I don’t know how much time you have. I would do both since they are only a short flight away. I did both on the same trip twice before, and enjoyed both places. There are beautiful slim girls on both countries. You will probably see a few more Latinas in Spain than in Germany. Language skill will also make a big difference. You will enjoy more in Spain if you speak the language. In Germany, you will probably get by ok with just English. Atmosphere inside the clubs are quite different in both countries. I wouldn’t rate one over the other. Can't help you on the hotels, though if hobbying is your main goal, the Hotel Auditorium is walking distance to Factory Air. Also, always used cash at the clubs, so don't know about credit cards, but I would say use at your own risk even if they accept them. On the last question about euros, use an ATM when you arrive at the airport. Fairly safe, and a better exchange rate.

I have been to Madrid 2 times so far. I always stayed at the Hilton Madrid Airport. The cabfee each way to Factory Air was round about 10 euros each way. Factory Air does accept credit cards as i once also paid for my session by credit card i used my visa card, but i am sure they accept master card, american express...

About night clubs with a good line up, I think that the best are "Vive Madrid", "Hot" (now renamed as "Dreams") and "Pigmalion". If I had to choose one, I would choose "Vive Madrid". It is the least expensive of the three and there are rooms downstairs. Hot/Dreams has temporarily closed their rooms, so you have to take a girl to your hotel / apartment, and Pigmalion has always been a pick-up place.

Can't advise on hotels but if you go to tripadvisor.com you can usually rely on the recommendations there (at least that has been my experience so far). If you can stay close to Gran Via / Princesa, you'll be very central.

Re. paying with card in clubs: you definitely can, and you usually don't build a tab. Every item is paid for separately (though some clubs may do it differently). Now, some clubs charge an additional amount (say, 10%) to credit cards. It can then be advisable to pay cash there. Everywhere else I'd recommend to pay credit card to avoid ATM fees.

If you cannot go any further take a right towards to first roundabout (pass a Lexus repair place and the Europcar Car Deposit). Cross the roundabout and pass the police station (leave it to your right and the airport to your left) towards to next roundabout. Here you will see the blincking ligths of CLUB. Follow the lights (walking on the road) and at the next roundabout you would need to walk around the builing to find the entrance on the other side. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Inside the female population is 70% columbian, 20 % domanicana/cubana & 10% romanian. Must say, level of women is up to par! After some chit chat decided to go with a Colombiana named Adriana. You are completely right, Calle Montera is still available.

When I am in Madrid (in some days again.), I always choose the same hotel with a balcony to Gran Via. This hotel is not high class but very girl friendly (is there one in MAD which is not?) and it is no problem to pass the security guy at the entrance. You just need to show him your room card. The reception is on 1st floor so I just ask for a room from 2. Nd floor or up, then take the elevator and the fun begins.

I assume you are referring to a street walker. If you get a (good looking) girl for 100€/hour, then you are my hero. Prices are even higher in more central clubs like Vive, of course. I was in madrid in april for 1 night and decided to check out the Factory Air club again.
I stayed at the auditorium hotel which is a huge hotel close to the airport in madrid.
The taxi fare from the airport to the hotel was 25 euros. There was suppose to a free shuttle bus as well, but i did not want to wait for half a hour .
The auditorium hotel is a basic hotel which is good in case of a layover but i would not stay there for a couple of nights.
The only reason why i decided to stay there is that Factory Air is in walking distance to the hotel, it takes you 5 minutes to get there.
I got to the club at round about 11:30 pm and as it was monday night i thaught it might be slow night with only a few girls present.
When i entered the club i was surprised by the number of girls present, i would guess at least 40+ girls.
Nothing has changed since my last visit a couple of months ago. A beer is still 10 euros, 30 minutes with a girl 70 euros and 1 hour 120 euros.
The only difference i noticed was an increase in girls from the dominican republic, cuba and unfortunately only 1 girl from brazil who told me that she used to work at Help in Rio de janeiro and Balcony for those who are familiar with Rio will know what i am talking about.

I recommend you to pay a visit. Yes it is some 24 Km outside but there is a train station just in front of it ("Las Matas") and trains from Principe Pio take some 20 min. to reach there. You can catch trains in other train stations in Madrid, too.

I recommend you a visit because it is one of the best places in Madrid. While some die for Stark (a.k.a. Diana Club, famous for its Romanians), Factory Air, Vive, Hot, or L'Amour, and I am not going to argue about which club is the best one, I think it is clear that Flowers Park has permanently been between the topmost clubs of any reasonable club ranking in Madrid.
