Hi guys,
I'm going to visit Kiev coming week, this will be my first time to UKR and I plan to stay for a month or two. Due to my background I speak Russian, English and German all pretty good, and don't mind helping out those of you who don't speak Russian. PM me if interested. Not much has been written in this forum on where to find WG's during daylight hours.

This a question for Kiev locals.
I'll be passing thru Borispol on Friday July 15 on my way to Simferopol. My flight lands in KBP at 13:35 and the connecting flight to SIP leaves at 18:45. I only have hand luggage and expect to make it thru immigration and customs in 45 minutes (on previous trips its taken from 30 to 45 mins.). So I should be in the arrivals hall by 14:30. A cab ride into the city takes about 30 mins. But is Friday afternoon traffic as bad here as in other major cities?
The reason for my question is do I have enough time to zip into Kiev and spend 90 mins. with one of the GIA girls and still make my 18:45 flight? I'm concerned about Friday afternoon traffic out of the city when I have to make it back to KBP.
I've never flown domestic in Ukraine. How much in advance should I show up at the check-in counter? International used to be 2 hours (last time I was there, 3 years ago).

UAApartments is ok - never had a problem with airport p/u but you can just about expect zero service if anything goes wrong while you are there. So make sure everything is ok in the apartment before the apartment manager leaves.

They provide a very good reliable pickup/transfer to and from the airport. I was very pleased with that. They are very professional on email too, and speak good English.
But as the previous point stated, don't expect great service when you are there. And be wary of their promises - e.g. cable tv, cleaners. None of which were delivered while I was there.
And if you leave ANYTHING there, don't expect it returned.
That was my experience anyway. Each to their own.

I have taken into account everything that was told me and finally have chosen: Bessarabska square or Khreschatyk Street through UAA. I was able to speak with UAA directly and this sold it to me, as I was pleased with the responses. I’m in the UK right now and they give UK contact number… (I love the way Brits speak English!).

Just a word of caution, based on my experience in Moscow at renting apartments to sublet on a nightly basis, I will agree with you that if you plan to stay in any FSU city for any length of time it will be cost effective to rent an apartment on a long-term basis. Apartments, especially ones in the lower price range are not up to Western standards and for the weak-hearted and weak-kneed, it is more than an adventure even looking at apartments and not even doing the lease... Westerners, unless very experienced, are not used to the RU/UA/FSU entrances, neighbors, customs and the like that will accompany living longer term in a Russian style apartment. It can be a great experience, but it can also be your worst nightmare as well. So, don't necessarily begrudge the company who is providing the apartments to Westerners on a nightly basis... at least if you have a problem you will know exactly who turn to!

Girls take local currency and "exchange" 1:5 (and money:sex!!). Also, you can get US$ at many, not all cash machines around the city. Another good news: they are open 24/7, the girls, and the machines, that is.

You don’t need to buy dollars for Ukraine. There are many ATM’s in the different cities which you can use to get the local currency. In Kiev-centre you will find them almost every 50mtr. They work 24 hrs. You can pay everywhere in Hryvnia (say Grivna).
At the moment the exchange rate is $100-495 and for Euro €100-600. Every girl will also accept Grivna. So in my opinion you are better off by using the ATM. Then you don’t need to change your currency twice!

To answer you question Thumper, I sed both Kiev beauties and Gia in July multiple times. Both were quite reliable and out of 4 for gia 3 were of the picture (but they take some very good pictures) and services were uniformly good. Kiev beauties emailed me some photos of girls, I had one who was on the website and one who was not, agian both were very good and one was spectacular.

don´t worry, there are a lot of ATM´s all around Kiev ( in streets, metro stations or just in hotel lobbies). Some of the ATM´s are even offering you the choice of the currency ( you can than choose between Hryvnias and USD or Hryvnias and Euros ).
Girls are very flexible regardings cash payments, they will take USD as well as Euros, Hryvnias, GBP... dependings on what you have in your pockets...

Now this is more like it, not full but not too empty and not an ugly girl in sight. Initially just stood back and observed the scene but as the night progressed another monger and I decided to move in on a couple of girls sitting together who seem interested in company. The both spoke good English and had a thirst for Coronas, I TCSS (chit chat) with my girl, Diana for awhile and find out she's a 21yr with a 2yr kid and works in Maximum (casino) as waitress, I discover later they are strippers at the club. Day 2
Went solo to Arena disco, apparently it's voted the best disco in Ukraine but it must be the most fucking expensive, 100 hrn cover charge and frequented by potentially the most stuck up people in Ukraine. Day 3
Weather was unsettled so a perfect time to order in, I call Vice Sisters (phone number in Kyiv Post) with a rate of USD 50 per 1 hr and USD 30 per +1hr. Although my apartment is in central Kiev the providers couldn't find it, annoying because I could see the girls from my apartment but they couldn't find the door to apartments. Anyway after a few attempts going backward and forward they give up and tell me the girls have gone home, yeah right.
Thankfully my Georgian russian speaking friend came to rescue and calls another agency and arranges a delivery. After 1/2 hour the two girls arrive, ironically the same girls I saw from my apartment earlier on, apparently this is a standard tactic but agencies will send one good looking or relatively good looking girl plus a fugly one. I later discover it is quite acceptable to demand that they send good looking girls and to threaten and to send them back if they attempt to palm off fuglies. Anyway as I didn't have a choice so I automatically select the better looking girl.
Her name is Albina, couldn't speak a word of English, red curly hair, c-section scar, average looking by Ukrainian standards with a kind of farm girl look, I thought to myself, ok F&F (fuck & forget). The sex was nothing to write home about, pretty much the FSU Standard Operating Procedure SOP, cover BJ, no DFK, fuck them, blow my load, clean up, she has a cigarette, gives me an ordinary massage and attempts to give me a second round. I can't leave the place empty handed so I choose the least ugly one, I pay my USD 50 and take the girl via taxi to my apartment.
In the apartment, I give her a beer, we take a shower. On a recent visit to Kiev I decided to check out the girls on a web site 'badrussiangirls.com' Soon developed into something more akin to badexperience.com. The services agreed and paid for my trip were:
- 4 nights accommodation at apartment 2038 @ USD 150 / night located at http://kiev-service.com.ua/apartments/item/2038/
- Airport transfers from airport to apartment and vice versa @ USD 30 / trip
- 4 hours of translation services @ USD 25 / hour and translator scheduled to meet me at the airport.
This is what transpired…
Arrive at Boryspil, clear immigration and customs without any hassles. My greeting party are not at the arrivals gate, I have to wait about 1/2 hour before the translator, Anna arrives. Ok, not a big deal, I work in ex-Eastern Europe so am accustomed to their definition of service. We stop at a service station to fill up on the way back, not sure why it couldn't have been done when not on a job but fair enough it's part of the FSU experience.
Arrive at an apartment, strange as I thought we passed Bessarabka market which is near the location of apt 2038. We are greeted by Sergey Kulik at the apartment who takes us (Anna & I) into the apartment. Fortunately, I printed and brought the details of apt 2038 so I immediately identified the apartment I was shown was not the same. I asked where I was and which apartment I was in, he can't speak English so via Anna he confirmed he had taken me to http://kievservice.com.ua/apartments/item/2034/
As soon as I discovered the apartment swap, I adamantly explained the situation. I simply explained it was not acceptable to do this as they had confirmed and accepted payment for the other apartment. Although the price is the same on the website, the practice is still unacceptable as they could exploit the situation and stick me in a "dog box" out in the sticks. I reminded him we had already paid him good money and if they had provided advance notice, I could find a cheaper apartment located in a better position. The other problem was I had already given apartment 2038 details to my friends where we going to stay with me later in the week.
He attempts to justify his actions by saying the current tenant in 2038 had extended their stay another day. I replied it was not my problem, I didn’t see why I had to wear the cost of the inconvenience. He asked me what I would do in the situation, I said he should have moved the tenant to 2034 and given me 2038 as per the original agreement.
Anyway the arguing continued for about 1 hour, whilst he called his wife Ludimila for consultation. Eventually, I agreed to stay in 2034 if he compensated me USD 50 / day. I also demanded he give all four days of payment totalling to USD 200 upfront which I would refund for days when they move me to 2038. He begrudging but threateningly agreed to the deal and handed over USD 200 and left. The next 2 1/2 hours are spent with Anna showing me around Kiev to exchange money, buying a pre-paid SIM card, shopping and so on. I let her go with 1/2 hr to spare.
The next day, Ludimila who speaks average English arrives to move me to other apartment. I said although about 500m away, I need a taxi as I had bought a lot of bottled refreshements and supplies which where heavy to carry. Anyway we catch a cab to 2038 and later discover she lost her phone in the taxi. In the apartment she is trying to explain to me that it is normal practice in Ukraine for people to extend their stay with no notice. I said that's fine but told her if it's standard practice then they should factor it and not accept bookings for a number of days after a current booking. The fact they accepted 'back to back' bookings was their problem and poor business practice, I also explained that unlike a hotel the impact of switching apartments and location is significant for visitors who are not familiar with the city or the local language.
I checked the apartment and settle the paperwork and I proceed to take my wallet out of my bag, open my wallet and return her USD 150. I should have anticipated this, but then she complains about the impact on her margins and blah, blah of the USD 50. I also ask about my return airport transfer and she "claims" my correspondent agent had not paid for it nor had paid the amount in full. Of course this was bullshit and merely a ploy to squeeze me for the USD 50. I told her she was wrong and left my bag with my wallet in the room with her for about a 1 min to go and retrieve the receipt from my correspondent agent in the bedroom. I show her the receipt but says she wants EUR 10 to cover the shortfall in payment and then she will provide an airport transfer. I think, fuck it, and just pay her the 60 hrn to get her out of there.
I have to mention, I could not withdraw cash as I had accidentally brought an expired debit card plus I had not reset nor knew the pin for my credit cards. This meant I was screwed for cash and had to rely on the meagre cash funds brought with me to carry me through the trip and hence given the dire nature, knew my cash position with exact precision. Anyway later in the night as I counted funds to go out, I had not gone anywhere or done anything since her visit, I realised I was USD 100 plus the equivalent of USD 25 of my other currency short less the USD 150 I gave her. I re-counted and checked a number of times and I was definitely short USD 100 and a large denomination of my other currency.
Fuck, I know strong acqusations but my only conclusion is she (Ludmila) must have grabbed those notes when I left the room to get the receipt.
Although I couldn't prove anything, I called her the next day (may as well fuck up her day as she had fucked up mine) and told her I knew she took my money and told her the other currency couldn't be exchanged in Ukraine so she may as well give it back to me. As you can imagine, she started hurling abuse at me, saying I had a hooker all night and who had stolen ALL my money. It was amusing because if hypothetically it was true, how would she know and secondly why would a hooker only take a few notes.
I figure Ludimila only stole enough to cover her inconvenience and not rob me blind. What annoyed me though is I played fair and stuck to the original compensation agreement but they started this whole mess and screwed me initially and exploited my trust to screw me again.
Amazingly, the driver did arrive at the apartment to take me to the airport. I had visions of being drived down a wooded paddock and shot so I had prepared a contingency of taking a taxi but fortunately it was the same driver who picked me up before so I felt a bit better however I was still on edge and at attention in case he pulled out a pistol to blow me away.
Anyway an interesting twist to my Ukrainian experience.

I'm not sure if there is a truly top-service apartment agency in town. But they still use local contacts, so the "service-culture" remains pretty much the same. I booked for fifteen days at one apartment with a location I liked (across from the Arena nightclub), with a return visit at the same apartment after a week in Odessa. I made these arrangements months in advance with the Atlanta office.
Long story short, I happen to see my agent at the airport on the way to Odessa with some other clients. I spoke with him briefly, and he just happened to mention that I would be staying at another apartment off Independence Square when I returned. If I hadn't accidently run into him, this would have been a complete surprise on my return. He didn't seem to think anything of this as I explained my annoyance with the inconvenience (I picked and liked the location near Arena, I had stashed some wine, beer and food on a top shelf that I hoped to use on my return, the school I was studying Russian at was within good walking distance to my Arena area apartment, etc.). This guy spoke great English and had visited the States and met with the owner of GoToRussia. But still the mentality is unchanged. I didn't challenge him the way you did with your people, since there is the feeling that things will not improve, but only has the possibility of getting worse.
I know some people will say roll with another culture, blah, blah, blah ... But, when I'm being charged Western prices, I expect the services to rise to the level of Western services. Sadly, an expectation like this only leads to a set-up for frustration and agravation in Kiev.

Nope, a negative experience too. I just posted this a couple of days ago in reply to a question on the St Petersburg forum about the same website:

Speaking for myself I always try to pay afterwards. Until now I only had a problem once with it. And indeed the girl wanted to leave, So I said directly “ok, go” and then she realized that she would not have any income, so she stayed. :-)
When a girl from an agency comes to the apartment she will always call her agency as soon as she arrived. Mostly the phone will be handed over to you and then the agency will ask if I like the girl or not. When you say yes, they will ask you to pay in advance. I found the Rakuena web site in april and decided to give them a try on my next trip.

Some days you hunt bears, and some days the bear hunts you. I'm back now after 10 days in Kiev and I'll share some of my experiences as I remember them. I don't keep a daily diary so please don't expect my comments to be either sequential or comprehensive. My preference would be to just post pictures, but my camera was stolen on this visit.
One weekend evening I found myself strolling down Khreschatik with the intention of finding a free date. The weather was perfect, the crowds were large, and the best looking women in the world were clearly overrepresented tonight. Still I am somewhat intimidated since I'm not sure how I want to make initial contact. What I end up doing is randomly attempt to make eye contact with any girl of interest. Of course I get no response from 99%, but out of a crowd of hundreds only one or two response would be entirely sufficient for me. Eventually a girl sees me, returns eye contact, coming up to me and hands me a card. She introduces herself as Oksana and tells me of a message parlor which she can take me to. My impression of message parlors is that they tend to cost as much as full service but don't do as much. I kept the card, but declined the immediate offer.
I continue walking and another pair of girls look back. This time I say hello first, which instantly identifies my accent and limited knowledge of Russian as a probable American. Their English is better than my Russian so after some small talk involving our names and where I'm from, they ask directly whether I'm interested in sex. I estimate that about 60% to 70% of the photos of the ladies on this site for Kiev are more or less accurate. The rest are taken from other sites or magazines. I cannot tell you anything about the other cities.

I have had experience of Tina and can recommend her highly. Apart from the financial transaction shortly before she left, I found her to be more like a non professional that you would meet in a club etc. She is an attractive nice natured girl who gives the impression she enjoys her work, however she does not speak English but I guess language lessons are not your priority here. Each arrived about 10 or fifteen minutes later than the 1 hour suggested by the agency, but I don't see that as a big deal. Each spoke passable English and each made a convincing GFE as well as an energetic performance in bed. I think the pictures of Veronika really don't do her justice. Also for each I reserved two hours which was supposed to cost 120 dollars. I threw in an extra 30 to make it 150, I was so happy. Sorry if I'm contributing to inflation, but they deserved it.

we went to millenium strip club in hotel dnipro, entrance 100 grivnas ($19), reasonable prices for drinks. really good looking girls, 7-9 in looks, nearly 200cm tall with their high heels, very good show (but i am not specialist). we were approached by 2 girls who quickly asked us if we lived in the hotel (guess for what !) and if we would offer them some drinks. they were not the best looking ones and we politely declined. we observed the situation : girls talking to customers, private dance 300 grivnas ($59). two times we saw a stripper got dressed in normal clothes coming back to a customer and leaving the club with him. i guess it was expensive but we were not proposed that. the girls already knew that we were not in the hotel and not ready to spend extra bucks.i can verify dant75's account and i'd add that the asking price for leaving club with a dancer is $200. only one girl approached me and after buying her a small drink and declining the extra services she smiled, she good bye, and left. i stayed for another half hour but no others approached me.
i've had a previous experience in the caberet strip club accross from the rus hotel where the girls were great (and plentiful) and the show was great (even brought me on the stage where the dancers pulled off a fair amount of my clothes as i did theirs), but when i ran out of smaller currency demoninations for tipping the waitresses and management absolutely refused to make change. my tab for drinks was rounded up to the nearest 100 grivna, the cover charge which is cleverly collected on the way out also rounded upwards, it tore at my heart not to leave a tip for the elderly coat check woman but i was not going to leave the equivalent of $20 for hanging my jacket (this was in april), and finally the security guard tells me directly that i should leave him a tip as he stands by the exit door. call me intimidated but i don't mess with these people. after happily receiving my 100 grivna tip he informs me that he can find for me ****d girls if that's what i'm looking for. that's something i never asked for and i declined and left.
i wasn't going to let my caberet experience repeat at millenium and i came equipted with an ample supply of american single dollars. for me a strip club is where you see and feel tits. even american non-alcohol bars where the cover charge and mandatory first drink run $20, will make any touching of the breast strictly verboten. however i noticed that although most dancers allowed my fingers to brush up against theirs nips as they received their tip, not all would allow it. i was never stopped or questioned by management or others but i couldn't help but notice i was alone in this practice and that each dancer decided individually whether she'd care to accept. strange. i guess, for their $20 entrance fee, most customers are content only to look and then buy the $60 lap dance if they feel inspired. call me cheap but dollar tips and occasional drinks is as much as i want to spend at any strip bar.
also i'd note that millenium isn't a very large club. they have one stage with one dancer at a time and less than a dozen tables. as it turns out the caberet practice of refusing to make change was thankfully not in evidence at millenium. they're not as fancy but the girls are quality and the establishment seems honest. much of the same can be said for the strip bar at the ukraine hotel right on independence square. actually their cover charge is about half of millenium's but their girls are a notch less in looks also.

Club 112 is found in the Arena complex and though it is not the fanciest (i.e. It's kinda ill-lit, crowded and in a basement.), it does have the advantage remaining open after all others have closed. Fact is, I don't know what their hours are but I've arrived there both weekends and weekdays at 2AM and they're going strong, and I've left them as late as 5AM with no discernable evidence that they're preparing to close. Truely this is the home base for Kiev's hardcore partyers.
Music here might be slightly more rock'n'roll than trance house or hip hop, and the DJ or dancers don't take center stage here. There is no center stage here, there's just a long bar where you push or wedge your way up to to get a drink, the dance floor is anywhere you can find elbowroom, and amply plush chairs and tables are tucked in the corners for those who've grown tired of effort of drinking and dancing. But it's the girls, not the environment, that justifies the 40 grivna (~$8) cover charge. As I sorta move to the music (I wouldn't call it dancing), and as I aquire my occasional beer, I carefully note whether any interesting girls are returning eye contact or just dancing in my direction.
Not all girls are available, but there's no cost and little risk in asking your object of interest whether she speaks English and whether she's like a drink. This is how I met Marina who is not to be confused with anyone else named Marina in my previous posts. Marina is blonde and says says from Olmsk (sp?) in the Russian Federation, but she's living now in Turkey. She loves the climate but she doesn't like Turkish men. Forgive me, but I've forgotten the name of her drink of preference. For some reason she told me where to stand (which was directly behind her) as she ordered her favorite drink. The drink required that the bartender sit up on the bar as she leaned Marina's head backwards and poured two bottles of beverage into her open mouth. The bartender then grabs Marina by the shoulders, shakes vigorously, pushes Marina directly at me. Marina is amply enough endowed that I enjoyed the contact. Wish I could remember the name of that drink.
Anyway Marina is more particular about the music she listens to than I am, and after setting a price of $100 for her services, she suggests we go to another bar before going back to my apartment. I'm under the impression that if she's satisfied with a long night of partying she'll likely be more fun in bed also, so we hail a cab and she tells the driver where to go. The bar is about a twenty minute ride, and again I can't remember the name or address. I can tell you I saw us passing the River Palace and crossing over a long bridge. The taxi dropped us off at an area that looked like a late night flea market with stand outdoor stands selling groceries and drinks. We walk thru a small tunnel and on the other side is her bar of choice. No Americans or foreigners that I can detect are here, but fortunately my limited Russian and a pocket full of grivnas is enough to buy drinks. We dance awhile and again she orders her favorite drink as mentioned before, and I brace myself for impact. There's also a stage with a topless show, so I enjoy the entertainment.
Where is this story going? Eventually she's partied out and it's early morning. We go back to my apartment, we have one encounter in bed but we are both tired. Anything resembling sleep is interupted by her cell phone going off every half hour or so. I don't hear her speak so I think she's just receiving messages. After a couple hours I try to reinitiate sex, but she curls up in fetal position. Soon after she dresses quickly and says she has to go. She's a cute girl and I bought her another drink when i saw her again the next day, but I have to admit I was not impressed with her performance in bed.

Teamed up with another WSG member for dinner and we both checked out the scene in 112 and Supper Club located in Arena City.
Not a lot of girls in 112, cover charge 10 or 20 hrn but the ones that were there were appealing to the eyes, moved on to Supper Club, free entry price. Now this is more like it, not full but not too empty and not an ugly girl in sight. ...
... While I was in Kiev (early September) Supper Club did charge admission on Fridays and weekends when an advertised DJ was playing. Something like 50 grivna if I remember right. On the weekdays with free admission I found myself to be either the only customer or one of less than half a dozen. Not much to do there unless you strike up an interesting conversation with one of the barmaids or the apprentice DJ. I guess you get what you pay for.
Also I seem to recall that admission to the 112 was more like 40 grivna, but maybe I'm remembering the night they had a special event. They had an MC on the floor with a wireless mic and seemed to chatter continuously but incomprehensibly to the female customers. Of course I have very limited Russian language comprehension so I'm ignoring him. A few minutes later a six foot table is set up on the very crowded and limited dance floor, and after a few more hand waving gestures by the MC the music volume is lowered, a few more dramatic but incomprehensible annoucements are made, then from a door behind the bar out comes a girl with only a bikini bottom and a towel held against her top. I realize now that what the MC was trying to do earlier was recruit a female volunteer from among the crowd, and it appears now that he did a good job. The bikini bottom girl lays down face up on the table, loses the towel, and a team of three chefs proceed lay out a banquet of various fruits, whipped cream, and other food items accross her body. The crowd is then invited to enjoy the banquet but no hands are allowed. I seem to recall finding a strawberry and brushing against a nipple as I picked it up with my mouth. Anyway, it was well worth the admission charge.

Club 112 seems to have entertainement programme every night in addition to the dj´s music ( go-go girls dancing on the bar, strip-tease shows, games and contests...).
I was told by 2 differents girls that :
- the girls picked-up from the crowd are usually paid by the club to play "the-regular-customer-like-you" who is shy but is finally part of the show...
- the club is also paying a few good looking girls to dance all night long at the gallery and in front of the bar...
I don´t know if it´s true or not but who cares finally ?

You may be right about the variable admission price at 112, but I've never seen it greaer than 40 grivna. I probably had gone there a half dozen times on my 10 day visit in early September, but I recall seeing a special entertainment program only once and that was the one I wrote about in my previous post. Maybe I missed other programs as a result of my habit of coming in after midnight and later. Anyway, I only scored twice there but that may be only partly due to lack of selection. I tend to be good for only one session a day and after having one with a GIA escort I tend not to be looking in earnest. Each time I did score though, I did so for 100 USD, but maybe that's a late night price or maybe I'm just lucky. In all modesty I have to tell you I'm usually not that lucky.

I may have to plead fuzzy memory regarding my $200 price quote. I clearly recall them mentioning a $200 option but I don't recall whether that was really for take out to my own apartment or whether that would be only within the hotel. Once they go much over $100 I tend not to take their offers seriously and I confess may lack attention to detail. As I've written before, I view strip clubs as maybe a good deal for seeing and feeling tits, but rarely for anything more.
Also, that management takes a BIG cut doesn't surprise me too much. I suppose there's some justification in that there's a high overhead on some relatively expensive real estate at a downtown strip club, but I'd add that even the GIA escorts tell me that out of a $120 fee for two hours $70 goes to the agency. It amazes me that the escort does all the real work and keeps less than half! And what overhead does an agency have? Their office could be a hole in the wall anywhere in Kiev with no more than a desk, a phone, pen, paper and female clerk that speaks passable English. I'd still recommend GIA, but I'm amazed at the cut they take.

Can someone please let me know what the current Visa requirements are for an EU national visiting the Ukraine ? I know the requirement was suspended during the summer for the Eurovision song contest, but have they now been re-instated ?

The visa requirement was supended from april 1st to august 31st.
But during the summer the President Yuschenko signed new decrees valid from september 1st :
Since september 1st no more visa required for EU, US, Canadian, japanese, Swiss and Lichtenstein citizens visiting Ukraine as tourists ( maximum stay : 90 days ). A valid passeport is enough.
The border police do not ask anymore for "letter of invitation" or "prepaid hotel voucher".

Nice pics Uke Boy. That reminds me of another small point that might be interesting to mongers with a photographic bent. I've seen cameras of all kinds in the Arena clubs and I've seen no effort by security to discourage them. At the Arena disco I've seen a big hulking SLR camera conspicuously slung accoss the shoulder of one patron as he walked though the metal detector. I'm guessing the metal detector is only meant to identify weapons. Needless to say, cameras in clubs with strip shows would be strictly !!!VERBOTEN!!! in America. Ya gotta love Ukrainian freedom.

I'm not sure I'm the best person to answer your questions, but I'll offer what limited knowledge I have. First, Borispol airport is a goodly distance from the center of Kiev, so brace yourself for a half hour and fairly expensive taxi ride each way. I myself have not tried any incall facility since I had an apartment at a good location and found it much easier to have an escort visit me. Given your location and not knowing how your hotel will treat visitors to your room, I can't tell you if this would be a viable option. At some hotels, you may find service providers at the hotel bar. If you have an unlimited budget you could try one of the in house options at one of the strip clubs. Millenium at the Dnipro Hotel (one block from Independence Square http://www.millenium-bar.kiev.ua ) may get you what you want. I haven't seen a report of anyone who's tried the high priced option, so again you're on your own.
There is one hotel located next to airport called boryspol hotel.
If I´m staying at the Boryspol hotel, I will first check if they allow female visitors at night ( some kiev hotels allow visitors without any problem, some hotels allow visitors but charge a small fee and some hotels do not allow visitors at all !).
The hotel is located in the aiport area so expect about 30 minutes drive to reach the city center. If the taxi driver is correct, the price should not exceed 100 hrivnas o.w.
I never heard about a line up in Kiev like it exists in Moscow or St. Petersbourg (I remember somebody talking about line up in Ukraine but it was in Odessa).
One night, two or three years ago, a taxi driver wanted to provide me a girl instead of driving me to the River Palace. He stoped the car on a main boulevard some where near Kreschatik and a few girls showed up but I declined the offer (two girls were cute but I´m not in to street girls for hygenic/healthy reasons). At this time the price mentionned by the taxi driver was 50 USD / hour.
Like Cyberspace wrote, there are several casinos with strip tease clubs. Strippers can be available but keep in mind that girls are free to accept or to refuse to provide extra services (than lap dances and other private strip-tease) to a guest. Girls are also free to set up their prices. It´s usually expensive (more than girls working in bars and discos ). You will probably be quoted between 300 and 500 USD for a couple of hours in your hotel.
You have two options : 1st option, you stay in your hotel room and call some escort service for a girl. 2nd option, you go to the city center and pick-up a girl in one of the bars/coctail bars/discos of Kiev. Personnally, I will use the 2nd option.
The Kiev Post,What´s on magazine,In your pocket guide... are filled with escort agencies ads but if the prices may be more interesting (from 60 USD /hour), you never now who is coming (it´s never the 10 from the advertising picture!), when the girl will show up (they always say 20-30 minutes wait but...), what services will really be provided after the money changed hands...
If you decide to go to a bar or disco you can at least see the girls, take a drink with the girls of your choice and have a little chat before deciding to take the girl or not to your hotel room. To avoid mistakes ( not all the ukrainian girls you can find in bars or discos are protitutes!) I recommend you the River Palace where you´re sure that all the girls in the disco are working. The common price is now 200 USD for a couple of hours but the final price (and time) can be negociate (some girls will accept 100 USD when some other girls can charge 250 or 300 USD!).
I'll go to Kiev and i think i'll stay at Gintama Hotel there.

I can recomend the Hotel "Rus". Its only a ***hotel, but it look like a 4 star hotel, the suites are very nice. You have 24 hours room-service. I stay there in September for the price for 160$ per night. The Service is good, and the hotel is friendly to the girls. You must pay 20$ for the Security when you take a girl to your Room.

Is there any reason you're not considering an apartment instead of a hotel? As you've noted yourselves, visitors are usually a problem at hotels. Also I'm under the impression that there's not much cost advantage to hotels and many apartments come with built in kitchen and laundry facilities. A hotel will clean your room and make your bed every day and maybe they'll throw in a free in-house breakfast, but is that really a big advantage? Of course your choices make no difference personally to me, but I'd be curious as to your rationales.

I agree completely... I am a Marriott Platinum Elite and a Sheraton Gold, but when I travel in Ukraine or Russia, I would never stay in a hotel. The cost and hassle with security is just crazy. Plus, there are so many good quality apartment services in most RU/UA cities, it just doesn't make sense to me to stay in a hotel.
Security, you say? IMHO, after living in Moscow for two years and now in Odessa, most crimes against tourists occur close to tourist hotels! If you are in an apartment it is easier to blend in and become a "local". Plus, there is something nice about having your own place where you can stock the refridgerator and kick back and I think it enhances your experience of visiting the city/country.

Until you don't have a few 4-5 star hotels, the current hotels could take what they want. The only real good hotel there is "Premiere Palace Hotel" and there you have to pay $500 USD per night.
Hotel Dnipro you could forget. The small standard room is to small for one person, so not realy usefull if you'd like to have a "visitor".
The best solution (but maybe not so safe) is an apartment. It costs half of the hotel prices.

If you are looking for an apartment service in Kiev I can recommend www.kievlet.com . The service is run by a nice English fellow Garry. We were very happy with ours for a 125 $ for a two bedroom apartment.
Other friends were using www.uaapartments.com and said that their rooms were very dirty and they would not use this service ever again.
I visited Queen Bee sauna in Kyiv a few weeks back. It was my first time at any sauna-type establishment, and if anyone can tell me more about what to expect at other saunas in Kyiv, I'd be very grateful.
Directions to Queen Bee (Malynovskogo str. 5) - a taxi from the centre will cost perhaps $4-5 (maybe less if you are better at haggling than me). Despite being on a main road near a metro stop, I failed to find it on my visit using public transport, mainly because I didn't know which direction I was going in on leaving the metro, but if you insist, then when you come out of Obolon metro, if you are facing the biggish shopping centre, you follow the road to the right, past the big apartment blocks. It's on the right hand side about 5 minutes later.
The building includes a restaurant, strip club and 'sauna' (nice big room with jacuzzi, massage table, showers, a couple of bedrooms off it but not, to my memory, an actual sauna, though I could be wrong). The first hotel chain entering the Ukrainian market is Radisson SAS with the Radisson SAS Kiev (a 4 stars hotel) in 2005.
But other international hotel chains are keeping an eye on Kiev and will probably open soon in Ukraine (I read that Marriott and Starwood have projects in Ukraine).
The only 5 stars hotel in Kiev is the expensive Premiere Palace (minimum 400 USD for a so called "economy room"). No problem to bring girls to your room.
The Dnipro hotel (4 stars) has two rooms categories : standard and superior. Standard rooms are really small but the superior rooms are bigger and nicer. No problem to bring girls to your room.

After a few months away, I managed to wangle a business trip to Kiev for a few days in early September. To answer some of your questions as far as I can.
Get an apartment, it is cheaper and more convienient. I prefer somewhere near Bessaraba market as it is near Arena nightclub and a few others and at one end of the main street.
You don't need to get the apartments from Gia, there are a lot of companies out there, I have used uaapartments.com with success and just about to use them again next week.
As long as you have a place to bring the sweeties you will be good and failing that an escort will be around in a flash:))))

To answer your questions RP for 200 dolaars gets you a few hours, i would say two but depends on the girl. I have stayed several days in both apartments. They are very nice but look as if they were decorated by the same person in the same store.
Broadband Internet works well in both and I have used it intensively. If you need a hard line phone, keep in mind that only KV231 has it.
I agree that the towel thing could be an issue but I always uses the ones that were in the apartment. They were clean but certainly not the best quality.
For payment, once reserved, uaapartments will send you a link to paypal to pay for the first night.
Two last usefull/funny notes on KV231:
If you need to iron out your shirts, there are two irons. Make sure you check the iron prior to using it. With the new one, I have stained one of my shirts with some sort of plastic that was melted on it. I then tried to use the older one and blew the main breaker.
Also, they have put the toilet so high that my feet almost don't touch the floor while I seat and I am over 6 feet tall !
