CAT, for those of us who are long term "prisoners" of this region, there is no question that freebies or all night duos for $60 with nubile 19 year olds are very possible. I have had more than my share of such variations.
Reporting on them is fine to let others know what is possible but we have been able to get to that point by being here 24/7 and by at least knowing the language to one degree or another and by understanding the local cultures and mores. Bez's understanding is as good if not better than ours but he also visits more than once and for more than two days.
Anyone who comes in for 3-4 days and thinks that without proper preparation or has an attitude will strike Ukrainian black (earth) gold. It will not happen and there should be a plan "B" to call the agencies.

with out any direct expearance in UKR I must say the cost of living in much higher in many EE countries than you might think. A lot of things that tourist notice as cheep in volve service and can be cheeper (certinly not in toursty places) because of the cheeper wages paid. So you might get a nice dinner for much less than what you might pay in the states. The flip side is a lot of things are imported. Like elcetronics and even quality cosmetics and then these things (like the good sheets someone mentioned here before) can be even more expensive in EE.
So now imagine a poor student girl wearing quility make up. You know that was really expensive for her. Stil she wore it to make her self even more beautiful for you. To continue the discussion about cost of living and co, well for my experience, life in Kiev is as expensive as life in other Western Europe cities. Here you have to pay everything for the girls - restaurants, taxis, disco, drinks - they don't really know the 50/50 thing.
Restaurants, especially vines are very expensive, and i believe girls are also using this as a test, you will only get or keep her if you spend more money for her than the other guys.
And forget about the average salary stuff, girls know where we're from... a local may get a girl only with a 50usd diner but for foreigners it's impossible, especially if they have seem your appartment right in the center ;)

The Boat was busy all the times I went. But things are not what they were like last year (even in May). Recently visited Kiev, my first Ukraine trip for almost a year. Was previously a more regular visitor.
The River Palace is still ground zero for hobbyists in Kiev. The boat is starting to look a little bit dated now, but will be replaced by a much larger vessel in early 2007.
Unfortunately I agree with previous reports that the place has gone down, and is no longer worth a visit if your are only interested in picking up girls. The number of girl in the disco is higher than ever, but the average age seems to have increased considerably. Whilst there I didn’t see any girl that I could describe as beautiful.
Pricing at the RP is not quite as bad as previously reported. Although the girls are all asking for $250/$300/ $350, the blokes on the boat are very reluctant to pay it. As the night wears on you can see more and more of the girls hitting the $150/$200 bids. This seems to the level that market is trading at. Of course this can vary based on your personal appeal to the girls, and whether or not you live in Kiev.
Perhaps the best bet now for more budget sensitive hobbyists are the low level strip clubs. Places like Grand Café E’toille and Mexicana, provide reasonably attractive girls for $100 per hour. By taking girls from these venues you are also guaranteed good performance.
Personally I spent most of my time in Strip clubs such as Millenium and Club 21. The take out here cost in the $200 - $300 region, but the girls are of a much higher standard. Going somewhere else first moda bar etc and only going there if I had no luck there and hit the boat about 0330 onwards and pick myself a bargain up! On a Friday or Saturday night the girls can have invested as much as 50$ in taxis both ways, cover charge and drinks and are only to reasonable when the 250-300$ players have gone home about 0200! Never paid more than a 100$ after 0330 and been abe to negotiate 3 hours plus and all the extras! I will say one thing about river palace: it is the only place in kiev where I have felt 100% safe and at home and that includes the girls as well when I have took them back to my hotel or apartment!

Just a few things to ask/comment on;
When you talk about the late nighters at RP hitting $150/200 are you talking about an hour or staying the night? You are absolutely correct in saying that the later it gets in River Palace the more chance there is of a bargain to be had among the girls. I rent them an appartment, about a 2 years ago.
Big clean appartment close to maidan with all equipment: hifi satellite etc... driver to pick you at the airport and to drive you back after.
At this time there was a lot of water problem. They said it was the same for the all district. Probably true. Anyway during this crisis situation, the service was good, the manager called me everytime to give me an update on the situation.
They only rent for very short term. 2 weeks maximun if i remember correctly.

VT... you point out something that is very important in Ukrainian and Russian apartments. In warmer months, the hot water is typically shut off for weeks at a time and the cold water can be very sporatic with low pressure or being shut off for hours at a time. As we all know nothing kills the moment like no shower being available either before or after!
When you book any apartment in the FSU it is a very good idea to confirm exactly how that apartment service will handle that situation which is sure to occur in the warmer months.
For instance, when we build/remodel an apartment in Odessa, we put in a back up water tank with a pump AND a separate boiler in each apartment to control the hot water. This gives you full control so you are not dependent on the city services for anything... water, water pressure, hot water or heat. Of course the larger the back-up tank the better, but 250 liters should get a 1-BR apartment through a couple of showers. At our new place in Odessa we have installed a total of 6,000 liters of back up water so this should more that handle our group of apartments there!
Although I've never heard of an apartment service restricting how long you can stay... I have run into problems in Kiev for stay of less than four nights and they wouldn't book them until the last minute for fear of losing a longer term booking. In Odessa there is no length of stay problems that I am aware of.
It was suggested to me on the Odessa thread that I might find more info about reputable travel agencies on the Kiev thread. I've searched here, but didn't turn-up any leads.
Following on CA Traveler's suggestion below.
Does anyone have experience with reputable travel agencies in Kiev? Ones that can be entrusted with making arrangements/purchases of tickets for local flights, particularly to Odessa?
Likewise, for providers of local English- or French-speaking guides for day excursions / translation (for a newbie to Ukraine, with no Russian/Ukrainian language skills like me)?

Discovered a couple of things over the past few days...
...the Aerosvit website is not the best way to go.
I suggest either calling a travel agent to book your Aerosvit flights or spring for the int'l call and call Aerosvit directly in Kiev and have them book it. They can set it up to be ticketed when you arrive in Kiev if you plan to continue to Odessa or another city, but you 'll have the reservation in any case. FYI, do not expect to get a same day reservation/flight from Kiev to ODS in July or August. They will be booked both ways!

I travelled many times between Kiev and other cities in the Ukraine (but mainly to Odessa). At the begining I purchased my tickets from the airlines offices (the are all downtown around the independent square), but for the last couple of years I have just randomly used travelagencies which I saw in the streets and never had a problem - you pay, get your IATA ticket in your hand, and walk out.

GIA is of course not an aptartment renting company, but they have quite good ones and they are very central located, specially those on Lesi Ukrainki and on Khreshchatyk. Walking distance from every think, ad some metro stops to River Palace.
Sometime, in very high season (July – August) they even rent out apartments they do not have on the site. It happened to me some years ago, I found a really good courtyard apartment, just a block away form the Khreshchatyk.
In my opinion their service is good and reliable. Only one thing. Always confirm by phone (real voice I mean) the day before of arrival… sometimes they tend to be a little overstressed with work and they miss some reservations! It happened to me but they fixed it in a couple of hours.
By the way that time in a new VW Passat, I had the driver, the interpreter and a nice slim blondinka teen (a special offer not on the internet catalogue, looking even younger than she was, sold out as “virgin type”!). Unfortunately I was so tired after a long long trip so I denied. I’m still thinking to that blondinka!

I visited two massage places, six clubs, three escort agencies, and street girl one time.
Now new President of Ukraine change the law, so citizens of EU, USA, Canada, and Japan do not need visa to visit Ukraine. Much shorter time for entering process than my last visit. Julia was waiting in the arrival lobby. I always rent apartment from her. She rents several apartments located in the center. Her apartments are more expensive (140USD to 150USD) than others, but very modern lighting one bedroom apartment with beautiful Jacuzzi.

Massage place “Rakuena” vs “Bagira”

Bagira locaed 10 minutes from the center (5-6 USD taxi one way).
Rakuena located in very center. If you stay near center, you can even walk there. But you should call for booking before you visit. They have only three rooms including waiting room (if two rooms are busy, they also use this room).
Girls
Photos of Bagira website were fake and below average.
Photos of Rakuena website were true. Some girls like Veronika and Oxana don’t have their photos on website, but they were very beautiful and had nice figures. Most of girls there looked 7-9/10.
Prices
There are so many kinds of massages on their website. You don’t have to remember all. Prices based on duration.
In Bagira, one hour is 250g ($50). From second visit 200g ($40) I did not try more than one hour session.
In Rakuena, one hour is 230g ($46), 90 min is 260g, 2 hours 310g. I took two girls (Veronika and Oxana) for two hours, I paid 620g ($124). It was fantastic.
I did not try 3 girls. Always give generous tip, then you will be treated differently next time.
Rooms

One administrative note on my recent trip.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I used Kivlet (www.kivlet.com) for my apartment rental. The company is run by a British expat, Garry Pollard. He and his team provided a level of service and support that was outstanding. From English speaking drivers that were prompt and very helpful to his partner Sergei who helped with train tickets (an impossible task unless you speak Russian and have the patience of a saint) and mobile phones.
The apartments were exactly as advertised and in fact I took the second apartment I used sight unseen because of a flight change that kept me in Kiev an extra day. Garry took care of the arrangements via a few e-mails.
Based upon the homework I did Kivlet's prices are a bit higher (and demoniated in Euro's) but in this case you get what you pay for and it was well worth the few extra dollars with this being my first trip to the city

I tend to agree with Tremayne, at least in terms of "kept" girlfriends. At least in the major Ukrainian cities like Kiev or Odessa, the tide has turned in the favor of the girls as there seemingly arent enough true top drawer girls to keep up with the demand of the local rich boys. New talent usually comes from smaller Ukrainian towns as much of the local Kiev talent has been drained. Its supply and demand. Hourly rate is lower than $100, it averages about $50 for girls in the 6-8 category in UKR... but sponsorship is a different ballgame and starts at $1000-1500 for a girl in the 7-8 category and goes up to as much as $5000+ for top drawer girls (in Moscow about $3000-10000)... and that doesnt include gifts, trips etc. Sponsorship is a system that seems to work to the satisfaction of all parties. I think the problem in Kiev has to do more with perception and information. Ask most people in Kiev why everything is so expensive and 90% of the time you will get a proud reply of, ‘because everyone wants to live in Kiev’. Why shouldn’t Kiev be as expensive as NYC, London or Paris (forgive my eurocentricness) – of course this generally comes from people who have never lived in first class or western cities. Kiev, is a nice city, I enjoy it and feel comfortable in it. But it doesn’t even come close to a quarter as matching even a provincial city such as Boston. Why does the Radisson in Kiev cost almost three times as much as the Radisson in Manhattan, Government corruption, price fixing and the current lack of accommodations to meet the demand. The basis for my pricing is this:
1) The last time I was in Ukraine was last week, however, Kiev, 2 years ago. In Kiev, I could always negotiate 30 dollars, but that was 2 years ago. In Warsaw, another eastern capital city, you can pay between 25 and 50 dollars, if you are not going for internet girls that have ridiculous prices.

Your right I did not go to the center for paid action. So this was a factor. And ...I check my pastport it was winter a couple of years ago so perhaps not as many tourists. And I shoped arround. That's what I thought, 2 years ago, and that's a long time for developping countries. As Cruiser D says, things have changed in Kiev. Cost-of-living has increased significantly (gaz is the most obvious problem with the Gazprom issue, but everything else as well), and the girls need more money to pay their bills. Inflation rate is 10%-15% per annum officially but, for rent and utilities, it's much more than that.
Ukraine is not the poorest country in Europe (and I wouldn't ask you when was the last time you visited each and every country in Europe ;)). Doctor_Skank already mentionned it, Russian money is heavily invested, but also more Western money since Yuchenko won the elections. Speculative money is injected into the country betting on the fact that Ukraine will be the next Eldorado. This is not the place for this kind of debate, but some businesses invest only in countries outside of the EU. The Group I'm working for already pulled out of Hungaria, and will do so in the Czech Republic soon, and you can see that their economy start facing problems with investors taking their profits and not reinvesting it in the country but in new ones like .... Ukraine.
My Group has been investing in Ukraine for 4-5 years and I go there once or twice a year, but we are slowing down now because prices and salaries are getting ridiculous. Now, I'm involved mainly with Belarus, they are poorer than Ukraine. I've been to Albania and Poland recently. Albania is clearly poorer, Poland is also poorer in my opinion (we pay lower salaries in Poland than in Ukraine).
I've not been to Moldova, but colleagues have been. They say it's clearly poorer than Ukraine. I've not been back to Bulgaria for many years so don't know how they progressed, but they were far from a wealthy country.

The area (off of Kreshatyk) seems nice and I don't get a bad feel for the place, other than the lobby of the apartment being pretty dingy and not lit at all. I thought it a bit odd, as the apartment is quite nice and renovated. I figure that nobody has ownership of the common area, or that the landlord of the building doesn't want to invest any money into it.

In almost all cases, the "owner" of the common areas such as the entrance and staircases is a state company called Zhek, which is a continuation of a Soviet era housing maintenance service.
They take care (supposedly and it is never done) of these indoor areas as well as the outdoor yards and areas plus garbage and other such services. It is to them that we pay gas and electric bills.
In fact, these indoor areas go from pretty bad to horrible and nightmarish in their maintenance while the apartments in the building could be super luxury.
It is a place of contrasts but you should never judge an apartment building by its common areas. They almost always suck but they are safe.
Once you have more experience in Kiev and other post-Soviet cities and their apartments, you will see that it is the same everywhere, from Minsk to Vladivostok.

i decided to call gia agency, and after a couple of tries, was told that larisa was available (i was looking for someone who spoke some english). it took her a little longer than promised to get there, but at least diana, the agency contact called and let me know. i thought that the service so far, was good. larisa arrived, and i was quite amazed at how much taller she is than she looks on the site. i also would say that i think she looks more attractive in person.

Rising living costs place Kyiv high on list of expensive cities

Ukraine’s capital ranks as one of the 50 most expensive places to live in the world, coming in 21st on a list of 144 cities surveyed by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, a global leader for human resources and related financial advice.
In Mercer’s annual Worldwide Cost of Living survey, Kyiv has moved up from 54th to 21st place compared with last year’s survey, sharing its position with Rome and Vienna.
With a score of 89.8, Kyiv is just around 10 points away from New York, which represented the survey’s base city at 100 points. The Ukrainian capital was separated by just a little over 30 points from Moscow, which this year replaced Tokyo as the world’s most expensive city, with a score of 123.9, according to Mercer’s ranking.
Kyiv’s dramatic rise to the top of the international list is mainly due to the appreciation of the local currency, the hryvnia, against the U.S. dollar, and “general price increases,” Mercer’s press release said. Many other Eastern European cities, on the contrary, have dropped sharply in the ranking due to the devaluation of local currencies against the dollar, the release stated. For example, Prague has fallen 22 places to 50th place in the ranking.
Mercer’s survey measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each city, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment, and is aimed at helping multinational companies and governments determine compensation allowances for their expatriate employees.
Kyiv real estate prices has skyrocketed in recent years, as has the cost of living in general due to rising fuel costs and other changes that followed in the wake of the Orange Revolution. Another change under the administration of President Viktor Yushchenko is lighter visa restrictions for foreigner visiting Ukraine.
“We have seen significant shifts in the cost of living rankings over the past few years, reflecting a changing global market. For many companies, it can now be more expensive to send employees to work in Russia or Korea than places like Japan or Switzerland, which are often perceived to be more costly,” said Rebecca Powers, a senior consultant with Mercer’s international business.
According to Powers, more companies are now sending employees on expatriate assignments, so there is a greater need to keep pace with the cost of living changes.
Some 44 percent of multinational companies have reported an increase in the number of international assignments to and from locations other than their headquarters over the past two years, according to Mercer’s 2005/2006 International Assignments Survey. Much of the increase in the number of international assignments, the survey says, is due to the widespread use of short-term placements, which have become more prevalent over the past few years.
Moscow has climbed up to the leading position in the Cost of Living ranking from the fourth place it held last year, while Seoul and Tokyo hold second and third places respectively.
“Steep accommodation costs have contributed to Moscow’s high ranking, as the recent property boom has driven up rental prices for expatriates,” explained Anna Krotova, Mercer’s Geneva-based senior researcher.
London has dropped two places from last year and ranks fifth, according to the survey.
Krotova stressed, however, that “cities move in the ranking due to prices and currencies’ variations vs. New York […] therefore the position in the ranking is a relative indicator [of the cost or living].” Kyiv, for example, moved up by 33 positions from last year, but its index only went from 84.5 to 89.8, according to Krotova.

Living in Kiev isn't too expensive if you live on the left bank. However if you want to live a NYC lifestyle it can cost as much as being in NYC.

Just to echo Uke's comments about the common areas... This is indeed a problem throughout the FSU and no matter how nice the apartment, the entrance and hallways and courtyard can be terrible. I've never had a problem in any of them, but to a first-time visitor it can be shocking.
For instance, even though it is Zhack's responsibility, we many times will replace a light bulb in common stairways, only to go back the next day to find that the working bulb has been changed with a totally different non-operational light bulb. With this in mind, it should be expected that the rest of the building is rundown.
The only way around this situation is to own and control the entire building which is what we've done in Odessa with our new apartment complex. Of course, for the next few weeks, even we are still completing a few projects in the building which can keep our entrance a bit messy with the construction in progress... at least it is not noisy.

I noticed that the Radison has opened up a hotel in Kiev. I will be making my first trip to Kiev starting July 25 and was wondering if anyone knew if the Radison was date friendly. Otherwise I am thinking Hotel Dnipro. As it is my first trip I prefer a hotel (room service, concierge, safety, etc.) to an apartment despite the savings. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I promise daily good reports during the trip.
Kiev and Ukraine are nothing like bribe happy Russia. You won't be hassled and if you are just give them a little attitude and they will back off.
The advantages of staying in a apartment vs hotel far outweigh unlimited fluffy towels. Safety is not an issue. I don't think the word concierge is in the Ukrainian dictionary yet. And I've never heard of an apartment agency missing a pick up at the airport.

A regular client of mine recently booked a return Aerosvit flight between Odessa and Kiev for himself and his girlfriend. Cost for both tickets approx $400. However, if the Travel Agent was well informed he would have offered him tickets with the new operator for half the price.
Flight tickets for the Kiev-Odessa route have soared in price during the past 12 months. Aerosvit used to have a $35 each way ticket that was readily available if you booked 5 days in advance. Although technically they still have cheaper seats, these are virtually impossible to purchase as the price quoted is invariably $100 each way regardless of when you book.
The new service between Kiev and Odessa is operated by Donbas Aero. I have had no problem getting tickets the day before travel for $50 each way. A saving of $100 for the round trip. It is worth noting that there is another advantage of using this service. Flights are to Juliani, Kiev's second airport located on the outskirts of town. The taxi fare to the center is a mere 20 Hrivnas. Not the $20 charged from Borispil.

I just returned from Kiev, where I spent the July 4 holiday weekend. I arrived Saturday morning and left Tuesday afternoon, using an award ticket on Delta's new nonstops between JFK and Borispol Airport in Kiev.
My too-brief visit was essentially perfect, mostly because I had the good sense to make my arrangements through Alex (ukrorloff@mail.ru), who has been recommended by others on this board. Alex is a real pro, 34 years old, speaks perfect English (but happy for tiny hints to improve it), totally knowledgeable about everything in Kiev (and beyond, too), has his own vehicle, knows where to find girls and has a terrific style. He's a good guide and friend. I had a great time with him and recommend him without any qualifications at all.
Alex met me at the airport and helped me select an apartment, which we had rented withoin about an hour of landing. I took a nap, and he met me a few hours later. After a lot of excellent sightseeing by car, I got down to mongering. Alex and I strolled all the right places but without much luck. We ended up at River Palace, where I quickly spotted two girls come in and grabbed them immediately. I liked the appearance of one, but her friend was actually much friendler and semed to speak better English, so I took her back to my apartment for a great 2 or 3 hours. Her name is Tanya, she's 27 and a music teacher. Blonde, reasonably thin. Quite uninhibited.
The next day we did heavy-duty sightseeing. In the evening, we met a couple of girls strolling and took them to dinner. I enjoyed one in particular and got to know her pretty well socially but not sexually. Too bad. Nice girl, good job, very attractive. I ended up with a semipro, age 19, brunette, fabulous body. Shorted me a bit on time, but no real complaint.

Rus hotel is a good "soviet style" hotel, small rooms, not very confortable, quality/price is bad. I was two or three years ago, in the evening there was inside about 5 pros in the cafe, not good quality, they didint look as pros, but was clear they were loking for paycompany. As far as I know they have very expensive price and not good service.
Better phone to GIA , ask for a girl, wait for her in the cafe, take something together and then enjoy in your room with her.

Personally I prefer RP because you can talk to many different girls and choose the best one. What I don't like about RP is that lately almost everyone is only doing CBJ. There was always a lot of girls and selection was not a problem. Almost everyone started from $300 but I never paid more than $200. Once it was for an hour, because I really liked the girl but mostly it was for 2-3 hours or for the rest of the night. Some girls refused to charge less than $300 even at 4 a.m., they simply prefered to go home. I couldn't figure it out. Isn't it better to get $200 than to leave without nothing ? What I liked is that almost all girls can speak pretty good English and communication was not a problem.
The entrance fee actually went up while I was in Ukraine. It used to be 50 gr ($10), it became 60 gr ($12) for the weekend. Other things are still the same - Monday is free if you go on the weekend, lottery on Sunday at 2 a.m. etc.
The only other place I went ot was Arena but I just went with a friend, wasn't looking for any working girls. The entrance there is 100 gr ($20) and drinks were more expensive than RP.
Taxi is still a rip off. They charge at least 100 gr ($20) if you take it from RP. One girl gave me a helpful tip. You can actually call a special taxi service (phone # 059) and it will only cost 15 gr ($3) to get to Kreshatik from RP. You need to speak Russian to call that service so you need to ask the girl to call.
Just spent my first 4 days in Kiev. I stayed at the Premier Palace (booked by my client).
Went to River Palace twice and disagree with the previous comments here that it is run down, although if that is the fact, it must have been pretty decent before. Both nights that I was there it was overflowing with women, ranging anywhere from 6 to 10. The starting price is a fixed $300, but easily negotiated depending on the "market" or "time". Paid $200 on the first night -- which was OK, but the second night we nearly closed the place down and got a bargain-basement price of $100 with a 9 !! Imagine my luck finding a 9 sitting on a barstool waiting to go, so $100.00 it was that turned out to be the wildest 2 hours had in a long time.
The advantage of the RP is that you have a "live" choice to make rather than photographs that you do not trust and language skills unknown.

One thing for sure you will learn about russian dyevs, they will always cut their nose to spite their face. When you try to knock them down in price, they always say no, or this is not a market place. They are the greediest people I ever dealt with. Skidka? No chance, dont matter that its 4am.
Look in one of the english rags in the classifieds for apartments rentals. They always seem to have the best prices.

As shocking as it may be to you, many if not all ladies here actually know their value. They do have a lot of reasons for not accepting each and every offer that may come their way.
Most mongers want to low ball as much as possible. That's just fine as long as you know that you will either end up with no one for the night or you may possibly end up with a 4.
The 8's and 9's are harder to hook. Believe it or not, here you actually have to pay some attention to them and make an attempt to get them to accept your offers. For the star-quality lady, they know what their value is and they can wait since someone will not only pay what they want but guess what, even more. I've seen it.

The real problem with negotiations, be it in RP or any other place, is the definition of just how long that money is valid for. Most guys get the "quote" of money but never fully define the length of time involved. When she leaves after an hour or so, you've been screwed as well. I like to make sure that my money goes the longest possible time.

I must agree with Ukes comments on this recent post from Mark.
I endorsed GIA a few times last year as a consequence of 4 experiences I had with them, all of them very good, but since then I have seen their prices continually rise for, in my opinion, no justifiable reason. Their latest prices range from $100 for the first hour for some of their girls up to $150 for others. Extras like OWO, CIM and Lesbian bump these figures up by another $10 to $30.
All nighters (12 hours) are from $350 to $500 with again additional costs for extras with the exception of their “star performer” Eliza who includes them in her price of $500. Big deal!

For an airline you can choose if you want to pay a much higher price as a business traveler. You have a choise.
As a consumer you can choose for selling exactly the same model car you bought at home for a 30 percent discount in southern europe. Personnaly I think importing it will cause you a lot of hassle, paperwork, money and the service will not be that good (why doesn't everybody in Northern Europ buy its car in the south?). But also here: you have a choise.
In the Ukrain you do not have that choise.
Let me give you an example how it can be handled. Rio:
when I go to Villa Mimosa (a part of town with girls for the locals) they charge me $R 25 (=$US 11) for a girl. Same as a local guy.
when I go to a high end therma (=brothel) they charge me $R 170 (=$US 80) for an evening of entertainment and a girl. Same as a local guy.
when I order an escort from the web I pay $R 100 (=$US 46). Same as a local guy.
When I buy a beer in Khreschatyk I pay the same an Ukrainian.
Why pay more for a girl?
In Kiev I got a few arguments:
First with a girl I picked up from a bar. We agreed upon $150 (with kissing and BBBJ). At my place she refused those both. So I cut the deal and send her away without paying.
Second with GIA. Before I went to Kiev I had gotten a price-list from GIA by e-mail. Upon ordering price had gone up to $130. A day later it was $150 (told to me upon arrival of the girl). I did cancel a third date that was already made.

Etoile (Grand Cafe), Maydan Nezalezhnosty 2, B.Grinckenka. It is in a restaurant near Independance Square. In the evening after 8pm when you walk to the bar in the very very back of the building (pretty hidden away) you can ask for a show. Some 8 to 10 girls will dance topless for you alone. Etoile is a very good deal and if staying in the city center it is easy access right by McDonalds.
L'etoile is my favourite cafe in kiev, with a great terrace for spring-summer time. I consider it my office as far as I do all my working dates there. They have the best capuccino in Kiev, and a very strategic place.

Restaurant Etoile has bin sold. It will close in autumn or winter for renovation and will maybe open under a new name. If there will be a strip is not sure.

You see it all over the place, in just about any market with imperfect information or markets where arbitrage (re-selling) is not possible. as a regular in s. america and other parts of europe i decided it was time to make my first visit to kiev. to those who have frequented this board much of this will be repetitive but i wanted to do a complete report. i would also like to thank some of the regulars who had assited me prior to my trip especially theknight. your advice is without this forum is about and made my trip easier. my intent here is to try and do the same for others.
first the airport is fine and easy. from the time the shuttle dropped me off at airport it took me 15 minutes to make it through passport check. if you have nothing to declare you can bypass customs all together. this made it incredibly easy. once you get out to the airport there are several cab drivers waiting for you. i for one am most afraid in foreign countries when i am in a cab. probably about 15 drivers all telling me to come with them. when i asked how much (i had told them all i was staying at the premier palace) the range was $45-$100 bucks u.s. when i declined they always dropped there price. i was literally being followed by 2 of them. once outside i went to the right and there was a building with a sign that said taxi. i went over there and was told taxi to city center would be $30. done deal and off we went.
as stated earlier i am staying at the premier palace the hotel is very nice but definitely overpriced. the staff is friendly and the room service 24 hours and surprisingly good. no problem at all with bringing girls in but i did walk them out last night. high speed internet in the room is free (until september 1). my only complaint was the pay per view. my movie choices were (not kidding) 50 first dates and helboy. both of those movies are quite old and after laughing i was very disappointed. requested a scred driver to take apart back of tv (ok i did not tell staff my purpose for screwdriver) and was able to easily hook up my dvd player to the tv.
first stop was arena city. to those of you who have never been the concept in my humble opinion is super cool. it is built like an arena and they have several entertainment venues in one area. my first stop was to the sports bar. only one girls working (close to 11) and she was very attractive. i then wandered into a couple of clubs of which i don't recall the names but will go back and find out. in one of the clubs there literally seemed to be a modeling party. every girl was 18-26 and everyone was model caliber. there was a long table set up and everyone was at the table. none of the girls seemed available (i was very sad about this) and left after one drink.
my next stop of course river palace. to those of you coming don't worry everybody has heard of it. upon entering my biggest mistake was going to the bottom level. i mistakenly had read this was the place to go. was sitting downstairs a little depressed because there were only about 20 girls and everybody was pretty much sitting. the girls were ok but when you see the beautiful girls all over kiev ok is tough to take. i was going to go back to arena city when a manager said i need to check out the disco.
the disco was either $10 or $20 to get in (was drinking and money is not a huge factor me so i did not pay attention). once inside i knew that i was in the wrong place. i would say about 100 girls and a great energy in the club. dancing and people wre there to have fun. probably close to 70 guys but everyone is there to have fun. the quality was much better and there was tons of eye candy around. i was definitely in a much better place. to anyone who is thinking of going to river palace walk downstairs (don't sit) go back up to the disco and you will be sure that lego was right.
my next mistake of the night was seeing 3 girls i like and hesitating on grabbing them (i had met some fellow americans and was enjoying drinking and talking). a few hours later they were all grabbed up and no top caliber girls caught my eye. i settled on two pretty girls who were hanging out with each other. they danced well with one another and i decided that i would take the pair. they asked for $200 each for 3 hours and i did not negotiate. my personal approach is to accept or reject and let them come back to me but i never try to talk them down. sorry to those of you who this bothers but money is not something i stress over and i have found that i feel more comfortable with this method.
at the hotel girls were great but only one was lfk and the other no kissing. i enjoyed but definitely will be there earlier and will not repeat with the same girls.
as to the beauty of the girls on the street everything i had read was true. their are stunners everywhere you look. i was walking but nobody stopped to talk to me. i could not believe how many gorgeous girls i saw in 1 hour. i then went back to the sports bar in arena city and ate on the patio for lunch (i will do this probably everyday). many beautiful girls and to a bad eating american the food was good. i went with a good pepperoni pizza and fried mozarella. other than the fact that they brought mexican salsa for the cheese sticks everything was great. if i can be of any further help please let me know.

last night i cut the chase and went right to river palace. in the disco there are lots of tables. girls seem to be permitted to sit freely but when a guy sits down they are told that they are reserved. i sat down and within minutes i was approached by a hostess from the river palace. she told me it was reserved and i asked if i could tip her instead. i gave her 200 in ukraine money (u.s. $40) and she was estatic. she quickly assured me that my table would be reserved everyday of my stay. i know i could of done it cheaper but that is not my approach to these types of matters. as someone who always dresses casually (poorly) i feel more of a need to make an impression and to overcome the doubt that i am there to spend money. i always wear jeans, t-shirt, and stylish sneakers. never a collared shirt and because i am in a foreign country i wear a cheap swatch instead of the nice watches i wear at home.
i picked a girl who i had talked to the night earlier and we agreed to $300 for two hours. we went back to the room finished in 45 minutes and she was ready to leave. during the session lots of kissing very good but afterwords she left right away. wasn't tired and decided i wanted more action. walked to arena (3 minutes from my hotel). embarassed to admit that i could not figure out where the nightclub was from the night earlier and rather than struggle hopped in a cab for river palace round2. immediately saw the girl i wanted early but had been taken and called her over. agreed to $300 (i am sorry to everyone who thinks i should haggle but please no more pms complaining to me. i am only trying to give full honest reports) and she was worth every penny. very passionate and nice. after sex we enjoyed room service and she was very fun. will probably repeat if i see her tonight she was that good.
other observations that may be helpful. unlike other places in the world the second you talk to a girl and they agree they want to leave right away. they have all been willing for me to enjoy a drink but it is obvious they are ready to go. another thing is that they do not have a change of clothes with them so when they come back to the hotel it is obvious what they are tehre for. ok it is always obvious but it is more obvious. my pet peeve here is that at least at my hotel i am told that if i do not walk the girl out security will shake her down for money. as a gentleman i feel obligated to do this even when i quite prefer the good night kiss before they leave to be with me in the bed. as i want the girl to keep all of the money i will put up with this inconvenience but i don't have to like it.
today i slept very late and then made arrangements with gia. i felt my trip would not be complete without at least trying their service. very easy to set up and made an appointment for delivery 3 hours later. the girl showed up on time (i tend not to use specific names because really ymmv). i will say that i thought she was equally as attractive as her photos. service was good and she tried very hard to make me happy. i can say nothing bad about the service and from an ease factor i would reccommend to everyone. bringing in girls mid day causes you a few extra strange looks and i of course had to walk her out. hope some of you are finding this helpful.

If right now you pay $US 300 for one hour what do you expect to pay within two, three years? $US 500, $US 600?
How can you expect someone else to publish good advices on the internet if the effect is that other people start driving up prices?
Being easy on money doesn't always get you the best service. Being easy on girls often makes them lazy

Lego, paying $600 for two dips (granted with two separate providers) is crazy (my humble opinion of one). It sounds like pure desperation on your part -- and obviously money is no object. But you are FUCKING up the market for the rest of us !! My humble advice to you is to "slow down", take a deep breathe, and talk to the lady, find out a little about her, and if you like her, pay her $400 or so for the NIGHT !!! Getting you to your goalline (multiple dips) and save you some loot. I have been in your desperation state myself, but with experience, have slowed down. Tipping the hostess $40 was nice of you -- more than she earned all week !
This is not a flame -- just an offering of an opinion -- and I will be back in Kiev in a month or so.

By rising up the market and spoil it, not everybody is loaded of money like you, you should be less selfish and think a bit to other mongers whom slave away the whole year and try to get fun in Ukraine with intelligence by paying the price market, I'm wondering why you bother to come to Ukraine if money it's not an issue for you, you shoud be able to find the same or much better pros (even non pros as I guess you're a kind of Bill Gates) in your own country.
It doesn't help anybody to know you can throw your cash out of window so please report only usefull stuffs.

Are you crasy, why spend so much money, you pay more end european price, why so travel to kiev? normal price is between 45$-80$ in 1 hour if you pay more so you have pay overprice. In riverpalace is the price from 100$ - 200$ but no more. When i was in kiev in may i could see many monger spoild the market, some one pay 400 $ to a girl, i was in chock, i hobe this girl has a gold body. I want to say kiev is a safe place, dont be drunk, dont take a girl from another boy. When you walk down the street act like you know the city, dont take a big card map of kiev and a big camera and say i never pay overpriced. Kiev girls like man dress well is very important boys. But you have to know there are many pepole can not speak english. Dont take taxi before you make a deal, dont pay overpriced in day is 10 gr and in night is from 15-25gr.
You have to know kiev change is not cheap anymore, the price go up every where and they are many rich pepole there. If you are black ou white ou yellow ou arrabic dont be afraid nothing happent there, everything is how yu dress is very important, and money give you power.

First and foremost I am shocked at all the negativity I receive. I have only been trying to give help to others and I get blasted on the board and many private emails. I thought that some of you would find my posts helpful. To those of you who get so offended this is the point you should quit reading. To some of us mongerers that care more about quality then saving a few dollars you may read on. Also if you wish to blast me fine but please no more private messages blasting. Those who ask questions always get a response from me. Unlike many others I share information and anyone has asked me before knows that I try my best to be helpful.
First met up with someone from the board. The most useful thing I have gotten from this board since I arrived. He apparently liked my honest reports and met me for drinks and fun. Whichrich is from Australia and a wonderful partner to hit the town. While I don't think he has contributed yet hopefully he will have a change of heart and perhaps even defend our idea of fun.
We decided to see if the reports of Moda Bar's demise were accurate. In our opinion at 11:30 pm on a Thursday they were. Admission 50 in ukranian and there were less then 15 people in the club. All girls were accompanied by dates. We downed our drink quickly and left. Whichrich understands the concept of sunk costs better then most and we went to river palace.
As expected my table was saved. Second warning quit reading if you are bothered by those who spend money. I tipped the hosted $200 Ukranian ($40us) and she was wonderful again. Had many drinks. Decided to repeat with my girl from the night before. To let you know how in tune I was with Whichrich he had coincidentally had her before me last night. I of course knew that I had a good partner and we shared a good laugh. I explained to her I wanted to drink but if she wanted to wait I would take her back to my hotel.
After another hour of drinking I saw a beautiful blond who also looked very attractive. She was 21 and gorgeous. I felt comfrotable that in my opinion I had the 2 hottest girls in the club. Whichrich had locked up a beautiful blond for himself.
When asked what each girl wanted for the night to be very happy both requested $300. We came back to the hotel and got started. Everything was wonderful. Lots of kissing lots of interaction. After about an hour and a half of fun we ordered room service. After eating and a short rest we started with some more fun. Around 5:30 am I was getting tired. Both girls wanted to stay over for more fun in the morning but from past experience I know a king bed is not so comfortable for 3 to sleep. I sadly walked the blonde out (man I hate that inconvenice) and agreed that the other would sleep over. Around 11:00 I woke to a phenomenal blow job. Embarassinlgy I tried to stop her because I thought sleep would be good and there would be time for fun later. Obviously, I did not fight to hard. She was phenomenal and despite 3 shots the night before she was able to complete the task. She then left and knowing that I hate going out said don't worry it is so early it will not be a problem.
Guys I am not rich (ok i am but that is not important to this story) but I am trying to give you honest information. I could definitely get a girl at River Palace for $200 if I want to get turned down a few times or wait until the end of the night. If you want to lock up the hottest girl in the club and make them happy you are paying $300. Whichrich here is a place for you to step up and vouch for me. There are always people that can come in and say heh I did this for only $150 but the reality is for Americans that speak no russian and are here for a short time and want the knockouts you are paying a little more. $300 us for a beautiful girl for the night is a great deal. Despite other claims it is cheaper then the US or most of the rest of the world. My advice in the negotiation is to go for more time rather than dollars. Especially if you are a bit younger most of these girls will spend more time with you. Every girl has offered me her number and asked to hang out in the day. SO far I have not folllowed up figuring there are always beauties at the club.
Today I hung with Whichrich today and have to again profess my amazement with the amount of beauties on the street. There really are model caliber girls everywhere you walk and the girls here really do not like to wear alot of clothes. It is amazing. I am blown away and I have been all over the world. I would only come here in the summer for that reason (ok and I hate cold and snow). None of the girls have been overly friendly (not rude either) but aside from a few smiles I have not felt invited to participate in more conversation. Admittedly I am a little shy on the talking to strange beautiful girls (hence the love of mongering) but these girls are just amazing.
Walked over to Decadence, which I was told is a top disco for weekends to reserve a table for the night. The host was gorgeous and agreed to let me in tonight in sneakers. I will see if that holds up. I am confident that there will be tons of beauties but I suspect I may end up back at River Palace. As I get nothing but crap for sharing in Kiev I will share my next report for private for people who are more similar to me
