If you don't want to spend money for the taxi, use the trolley bus (very cheap).
The bus will bring you to the train station. From the train station you can use the tram, another bus or walk.
You need about 20 minutes to walk from the train station to the opera.
Telephone-cards with ukrainian numbers (life, Kyivstar) are available at the airport.

You definitely won't get quoted these prices to Arcardia from the Odessa airport. There are always people approaching you outside of arrivals. I was there a few weeks ago & they quoted 600 to Arcadia from the taxi stand outside! I asked them if the transportation included a helicopter ride. I negotiated it down to 300 & I was speaking Russian. Of course it's always better to call for a taxi anywhere in Ukraine but I didn't have an unlocked phone to get a Ukrainian sim card. Anyhow, as a foreigner always expect outlandish quotes for taxis unless ordered by phone and make sure to count your change when buying anything from a market or kiosk. Also got stopped by three Ukrainian police men walking through Arcadia one evening. They were looking for my passport but more importantly looking for money. I didn't have either!

Ten days in Odessa ended with mixed feelings.
I tried my luck mostly with contacts from (semi-) dating or travel websites. I had many telephone numbers, but it quickly became clear, how the system works: first the taxi from the villages nearby (Illichevsk, Zatoka, Belhorod-Dnistrowsky) where most of them "are from" will cost between 600 and 2000 UAH, at least that is what the girls ask for, the bus fare is about 50 UAH, but bus is considered for poor people. Secondly many girls will call you one or two hours before the meeting and "admit" that they don't speak any English, so a translator girl will be in their company, she will ask for 20 or 25 dollars per hour. Thirdly the girls will try to determine the place of meeting, this is the clearest of indications they are just going for some money: if they name Caesar's, Salieri or Grand Prix, it is better to forget about them.
Having said all that, there were also a few great encounters, but in general Odessa this summer felt like a boomtown: the Deadwood of the Black Sea. I haven't posted on this forum in a very long time. But I lived in Odessa for almost a decade and visited earlier this summer. There are thousands of beautiful women there, and even more so this year because Ukrainians are not traveling abroad on holiday like they used to. They are however, going to Odessa.
If you postulate that Odessa is over hyped, that's fine. It's likely your expectations were not realistic, or the girls were not into you. It certainly isn't expensive especially with a weak UAH.
One thing is certain: Russia and Ukraine are not like the bad old days when any foreigner was considered a GOD (even you. I am God). Now you have to work a bit differently, especially if you travel to cities like Odessa. Go to Kharkiv. Or Nikolaev, if you want an easier time with the girls. However, you'll need Russian language skills. The best girls do not speak English.

A rather good athmosphere, smiling staff, the girls seemed happy to work there. Pleasant experience. Only one stage, and maybe 6-7 girls only at the same time.
2) Erotic massage parlors.
VIP massage: the most expensive one. When I called a guy named andrew answered the phone, he told me it was 1200 for a 1 h30 massage with 2 relaxes + 500 more for 1 more girl. Turns out it was 1200 for just 1 hour + 600 for one more girl. The girls were pretty, between 7 and 9. There were 6 girls avaible. The massage is fully nude. I enjoyed but it's very expensive.

I mean given that November is not popular month for tourists and it should somehow affect offer / demand ratio (or am I wrong?
2. Does fluency in Russian will make any difference in establishing contacts with girls in clubs and parties or it's not much of an advantage as long as you put some fancy clothes on. In other words are there girls willing to try one night stand or it's just all about money? 1) yes, you are wrong. There will be less girls to pick and prices will not be cheap (escorts). The only thing that will be cheaper is your boarding cost (hotel, apt etc etc).
2) How often do you pick up girls in your hometown? I bet not so often, I do get them very rare. Now you are not in your hometown so it will be harder then that.
3) Overpriced compare to some small town but cheaper then Kiev or Lviv. Go out of tourist bubble in Odessa and it gets cheaper and scarier. Not recommended!

Long time lurker first time poster. Thought I would share some some stuff I found.
1. Do not stay in Arcadia. All of the girls come from the center so you have to pay for their taxi 200-250 ($10 US) and it takes 30 minutes extra. There are no street walkers in Arcadia and going to the clubs like Ibiza are a waste of money.
2. Get a local sim card. They are very cheap, less than $5 US and you MUST have it to call girls.
3. Don't bother with trying to find brothels or street walkers. You can call escorts delivered to your room and they are great. I used http://odessa.relaxportal.biz/eng/ with success but I'm sure there are others.
How to order:
A. Choose a girl and call the number. From my experience there is no difference in quality between girls that charge 600 Ukraine Hryvnia (UAH) and 1,000 so you might as well choose the cheaper.
B. If your girl is unavailable, ask the mamasan if they have another girl for you. Ask for their age and weight. My friend got sent an old lady because he didn't ask.
C. The girl can come straight to your room. One girl's driver made me meet them in the parking lot, it was fine, nothing bad happened but it was annoying.
D. You have to pay the girl first so she can call her driver and let them know she is okay. After that you get a full hour and get to cum twice.

I was in Odessa in beginning of December (IE: start of winter).
1st Night.
Stay at Hotel Black Sea Rishelievskaya as I'd previously heard there may be some action available at this hotel. Unfortunately I didn't really see any encouraging signs in or around the hotel whilst there, plus hotel has a security man stationed 24/7 near the elevators which didn't help matters.
2nd Night.
Moved to Zirka Hotel, which is a very budget hotel that I'd read locals use when they want to screw. The rooms in this hotel are very close together and the walls very thin, and judging by the noise at all hours of the night, the guests were definitely getting it on, though with who, I don't know.
I walked around Zirka Hotel, especially near the corner of Uspenska St, and Preobrazhenska St, cause I'd read on the forum about the possibility of street walkers. But I didn't really see any. Or start mentioning about "presents" of hundreds of Euro.
I don't want to put any newbies off, I just want you to know you will pay heavily to enjoy the company of some of the worlds most beautiful women. Some of whom are worth knowing. Either right away. Or 5-10 years later when they then search you out as one of the few nice guys they ever met during their gaming years.

When I was younger and really on the chase, I stayed in the centre usually one block off Deribasovskaya. There is so much more variety in town in terms of cafes, restaurants, walks in the parks, amusement park with rides, shopping, and easy transport options. The movies, arts like the infamous Ballet, and beaches just a short taxi ride (or decent walk, Lazeron) away. Strip Clubs, Massages, and Houses of poor / fake advertising, and even street walkers if you had not an interest already secreted in your apartment. TBadoo and Tinder girls like to meet there, usually at Kompt, or even StaekHouse if they're pushing their luck. HHre are also legitimate Introduction Agencies, where you can walk in, meet the owner, and / or managers and pay to date their data base of women willing to date.
As I got older and couldn't be bothered so much in the P4P chase, I moved out to a 2 bedroom apartment in Arcadia owned by an ex-girlfriend of mine. Have very good time is Odessa I will come back next July.I've visited Odessa on five occasions, I was just there this past Aug / Sept for 17 days, April will be very pleasant, weather wise, a good time to visit, I always stay in the old center, I've never stayed nor do I visit Arcadia, I find that a good place to rent a flat is maybe 1 K or so S / W of the Street, kind of along yl. Probrazhenska, this area has many 24 hour mini marts, 24 hour coffee cafes, as well as one large supermarket, what is also great to see is that the customer service is exceptional at these places. You'll discover many Middle Eastern people who live in Odessa full time, as far as I am concerned they are no problem at all. There are many strip-clubs in the old center, not just Office, I would advise not to visit any strip club in Odessa, once they discover you're a foreigner, there's a good possibility of up-selling. As far as escorts I find Odessa to be one of the top cities in Ukraine, for what I like to do, which is call an escort and have her come to me, I usually chose girls 1,500 and above, for the most part they have a pleasant attitude, young and attractive, naturally and genuinely excited to be with you. I'm assuming that sand spit is the thin stretch of land north-east of Zatoka, but there are few hotels there.
I didn't want the crowd of Arkadia, but the whole area sounds like a bad idea. Maybe I should once again stick to hotels with swimming pools in Kiev. Corona is bad enough. I don't need bacteria / algae on top, even though I believe humans evolved from algae.
I also thought about Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, but the thing is that once I leave Ukraine, I can't come back for 3 months.

My favorite on the Black Sea is September, - so called Velvet Season "Barkhatnyi Sezon". Fewer people, not as hot.

According to this map, the south of Odesa is in Orange, and Koblevo area is on the borderline between Yellow and Greene.
I doubt Disco Brazil is as bustling as in the photos this summer.
BTW, I was not thinking of going there solo.

Now I discover I have a long game in play where these young professional daters of 10 -15 years ago, now find themselves divorced, single moms and remember the older Western guy that treated them well, with respect and they felt safe with. Bingo. My email blows up every May with girls I already know asking if I will be coming to spend the season in Odessa as usual, because they're interested to spend time together. Happy Days, as I honestly can not be interested in the chase anymore. As I've got older I have found I really need a mental connection to function at my best sexually. I need the full GFE, need to feel the girl actually wants to be with me. The lower end practitioners of the craft leave me cold with their lack of warmth and affection. The big scam I got 2 nights in a row is coming from tinder girls: they are inviting you to a disco north of the city called stereo disco.
Address: Dobrovol's'koho Ave, Odesa, Odessa Oblast, 65000.
Just google it to read other people's comments.
What happened to me is that I got in contact through tinder with some nice girl and she is proposing to meet her friend in a disco (without telling the name) and we went halfway and I smelled the scam we returned dropping girl at her home.
Second time I finished partying and another girl proposed me again from tinder to go to a disco saying her newly met friend is waiting for us in the taxi. Same story but this time I want till the door of the place to see it myself. The girl even paid for the taxi. And the end it refused to enter and took the taxi back to city center.
At the end of the story good ending the taxi driver (not uber or bolt but one with taxi sign) gave me some numbers of pro-girls.

On the table is a bottle of johny walker blue, cola, ice, hooka, cheese and meat plate, etc. And of course the charade continues. I poured a large glass of whiskey. Maybe 1/3 the bottle and watched my glass close as possible. In the meantime this chick is jerking me under the table but also trying not to do too much. I excused myself to the bathroom and called an uber (I brought my drink with me) and then when I came back to the table, I could see that my uber was outside. I texted the driver and said I will be out in 2 minutes. I ordered a bunch of shots for us and for next table. Drank my shot, said I wanted to grab a cigarette and walked outside. It was clear security was watching closely so as soon as I was maybe clear of the door, I took off, jumped in the cab and said to go. This dummy was texting me for next 24 hours saying she had to pay the bill and she will find me, blah blah. I am not sure how the scam works. I assume they get a percentage of the inflated bill. But not sure if they had to pay after I stiffed them. But, I do hope so.
This was definitely a 1 time adventure and I don't recommend trying this at all. I understand it could have ended badly. But I have to say, they tried to fuck me and they got good and fucked instead!

Finally I could find some girls from tinder who were willing to come to the hotel instead of taking me to the shady bar.
She was around 30's and asked for 1500 uah for 2 h.
Also in Amsterdam bar there were some W / G on the weekend as probably in other places.

But of course I heard of this shit happening a lot in some form or another. This restaurant scam is one of the oldest tricks in the book and luckily I saw it coming. But, if I were drugged or got caught, I would have had a big problem for sure. I never meet girls in a bar or restaurant unless of course it is a normal date with a normal woman. By normal I mean someone who it is realistic I would date. (I am 45 and in good shape but I don't look at anyone under 37 for normal dating).
I have also heard this story first hand. Guy gets a girl to come to apartment and he pays her first. Then she says she is underage and will leave and if he complains she will call the police or her brothers or whatever.
So, I take the precaution of meeting them at my apartment but say that the domophone is broken and then I meet them outside and size them up.
I also obviously working girl-proof my apartment. Documents, cards, cash, etc. Well hidden. I do have some expensive gear that is part of my profession so I have this risk. However, I keep a military medal (real) and retired police badge (my cousin's) on the bar where I invite them to sit. I also keep helmet and vest from war on a chair next to bar. I want to signal that they should think before trying a crime of opportunity. I don't know if this is effective but I haven't hd a problem yet. Of course I have had duds, cold fish, etc. Between that and dog tags, which I also make kinda obvious, I let them know what I am capable of. Some don't even notice and I wonder if they are stupid. They should also be paying attention to their surroundings!. Anyway, not everyone has such stuff of course. But I do think it is very possible top create a back story that will make them think twice before grabbing something. It usually does not happen elsewhere in Russia, and it happens very often in Saint Petersburg. I have close friends who have been living there for years and they warned me right away. This is a huge, ongoing, and widespread "razvod" scam that has permeated much of the most popular bar and club scene, and is not just limited to strip clubs. I have experienced daily attempts at being scammed on Tinder and by girls approaching you on Rubinstein street. Bartenders, waiters, police, and mafia are getting kick backs, and nothing is being done about it because there is so much money it in. I feel sorry for all the tourists who have been scammed during the football games in SPB.
Signs to look out for, and usually with 18-25 year old girls.
1. Tinder girl will suggest to meet on Nevski or Rubinstein street.
2. She names a good bar (could be Karaoke bar where each song is 1000, each bottle is 6000, the bill is in hundreds of dollars quickly).You say it doesn't happen others say it does. I have been almost scammed with lost wallet on the floor at Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow. Check-in desk airline employee and police were all visibly involved in staging it. At the time I didn't know the particular structure of that scam. Common sense helped to avoid it.
There was an attempt in San Diego with a P4P girl, saying "Pay me upfront" and then she had to go to get her purse from the car. Kicked her out without giving her money.
I do not leave my drinks unattended.
I do not go to any dating sites, and God forbid, I would never think of marrying an Administrator / Manager of a dating site / agency. Not in Ukraine, not anywhere else. And even knowing all that is going on in those dating sites, I would still not think that Kiev and Odessa are the scam capitals of the world. Don't be stupid, do not expose yourself to the obvious dangers.
There are threats, vulnerabilities and risks. Making someone less protected by frequenting locations with higher probability of materialized threat, makes that person more vulnerable, more susceptible, raises the risk. Simple math.
Again, I never go to Arena City, and as much as I enjoyed Rio and Star Rhino for a few years, I stopped. I could see Rio across the street from my balcony, and felt no appeal. I think of them as vacuum cleaners, sucking money out of my pockets. Mandarin next to River Palace has been great, but is long time gone.

Another scams that are less common but a lot more dangerous and they still may happen in Ukraine are the scams aimed to scary the shit out of.
Easy sex seekers and sometimes even hurt them (and take their money of course).
Again, this may happen to anybody not being cautious in any country.
So the most common start of the scam is same as consummation. Some nice looking girl approaches you and doesn't offer sex for money straight away.
She accepts your cocktails, talks to you, laughs a lot and then (when you are drunk) offers to continue the party in some other place or at her apartment.
If you accept the offer, then there are few outcomes:
1) You are super lucky and it ends with real party and sex afterwards.
2) You are taken to some suburbs district with zero foreigners and end up in some apartment where some other guy appears and acts husband or policeman.
It may turn out that the girls is underaged / has drugs on her so you will lose money not be beaten by a jealous husband or not to be taken to the police.
3) The least pleasant variant. You may get robbed when you step out of the taxi car by some other dudes that work closely with the girl.
And back to some drugs. Also one of the most common ways to scam foreigners is to sell them "drugs".
In the best case it will end with you getting what you did not pay for (for.
Example some cheap low quality amphetamine in stead of cocaine. Low quality amphetamine.
Is super popular among hookers / party girls in Ukraine but be careful.
Remember that cocaine is super expensive in Ukraine and may cost up to 200 dollar per gram.
If you are offered a low price, then most likely you will lose money or get some low quality.

A) don't flash money. I prefer to keep money not in the wallet and have.
It in different amounts and different pockets. When you are a foreigner and take out your wallet at the bar to pay for cocktails / food. Trust me, chances.
Are really high that many eyes are looking at what you have inside. Its a sign that you need to be robbed / fooled when you have a stash of 500 UAH bills along.
With euros and dollar inside. Better leave the wallet at home. Take 200 UAH bills + some 50 UAH bills for tips and keep them in different pockets.
When I want to party and plan to spend some money for "love", I take 50-100 $ bills and hide it inside my ass (kidding), I put in inside my deepest pocket and.
Don't touch it unless I need to pay for sex in some cosy and safe place. Then I put some 200 UAH bills in the right pocket and 50-100 UAH in the left pocket.
This way I am sure that I can "dive" into my right pocket, count 5 bills and take 1000 UAH without flashing anything.
Another GEM. In Ukraine, you don't need to register sim cards, so I suggest you to buy 200 dollar Android phone and a sim card for pubs / bars / parties. I once lost.
My main phone with all the mail / bank / messengers profiles which drove me nuts.
Believe me, bling bling on your hand and neck + iPhone 12 max + leather wallet with multi GEO bills = you are a target for scammers.
Cash, regular phone, nice but not casual expensive clothes, smile and the absense of fear on your face + moderate tipping (10-15%) you are a romantic traveler, a nice dude who chose Ukraine.
Among other countries and this will attract only good vibes to you.

The room has the door, which supposedly provides privacy. But the rest of the apartment or even the whole building is more like a dorm, with people coming in and out. It becomes a real problem in late summer and unfortunately this is not really due to the global warming but rather due to different city shit beined drained into the Black Sea.
Still I would not be worried about it much. Just don't go to the water in places with seaweed, its nothing super dangerous. Having a sex with a stranger may cause more problems=).

1) They create a kind of dating site / service where they have profiles of super nice women / girls from Ukraine. Most of them are fake.
2) As a man you have to register to the site but chatting with a girl is not free of charge. 1 message is 1 dollar, when you want a picture, you pay more, when you want to come to Ukraine, you need to hire a "translator" cause your Ukrainian "bride" doesn't speak good English. When you hire the "translator" and come to Ukraine, they will try to rip you off by taking to expensive places, asking for presents for a poor Mon. / dad / brother of your "Ukrainian bride".
3) In some cases it may lead to that BBC article about Odessa.
The amount of such "offices" where they scam Americans is huge. They are almost in all big Ukrainian city and top 3 are Kyiv, Dnipro and Zaporizhya.
If you are really seeking for feelings, them learn from Russian and come to Kyiv anc try to find a wife yourself (if you really want a Ukrainian wife that bad).
