Hello,
It seems nothing has been said about Kherson for a long time. Does anyone have updated info? I'll have to spend a night there on a business trip in September: will I find any action or is it fucking dead?
The ideal for me would be a club where you can pick up pros/semi-pros (as the RP used to be in Kiev) or a strip where you can take the chicks out. I am not into sponsoring and the Mamba approach is not for me.
Any ideas? Or will I have to switch to DIY mode? Any feedback will be most appreciated.

Thanks to two Americans who set up their "marriage agencies" there taking money from other Americans by bringing them to "romance tours" to Kherson, Nikolaev and Odessa promising them they will find 18 year model type to bring home as their wive. We all know the drill.
Thanks to them when ever a foreigner ends up in Kherson everybody thinks he's a guy looking for wive and the type is not popular there.
Also good part of Kherson population is Greek in origin which means different looks and mentality from the rest of Ukraine.
But there can be some action. Russian is needed without it will be hard. Since you're interested in clubs there's something for you. A club called "Amiga" (or "Amigo" I forgot, sorry). You can pick up pros/semi-pros there. Keep in mind the quality will be low and price might surprise you. Many locals told me the good material girls who wanted to try their careers in p4p are heading for Kiev of course. And in smaller parts in Odessa. Student types, coming back home to Kherson at weekends behaving as untouchable saints.
Basically no need to waste time on Kherson even just for a night. Just sleep it over, accumulating energy and saving money for other place you'll go next like Kiev or Odessa.

One recommendation: My favourite restaurant in Kherson, both daytime and evening: "Nostalgia". Sounds like Italian cooking, but it is not: Good UA-style dishes, and international. Also some kind of cocktail lounge, and winter garden. Reasonable priced. In the very centre, walking area. When facing the entrance of the theatre, turn left, first street left, 100m right side. No special signs/advertisements, besides the good cars in front.
And in case, you have good luck, sometimes in the afternoon you will find there the most beautiful women of the city.

Know exactly what you're talking about. Met the DJ on the train out to the provinces, and he invited me to the exclusive klub on Saturday night for his show. Long drive out to the suburbs at midnight. Only the richest young people were in there, so my plan to waltz in and waltz out with some little spinner/sponsorette didn't go according to plan, because probably every girl that was in the place already had more money than I did.
These were the girls that party every night until 10 in the morning, and then sleep until 6PM.
All the guys in the klub were under 30 also, if I hadn't been invited by the DJ, they wouldn't have let me in. You'd have to be an oligarch to score in there.
Lots of hot stuff, I got none. I might have been able to scratch up some interest, if I was offering $400 or $500 to one of the go go dancers, and to wait until 5 AM when their shift was done, but that's just too rich for my blood, and I have no energy left at 5AM anyway.
So disappointed, I slunk off into the night, resigned to my lower station in Ukraine society to find willing poor white trash sponsorettes in the $120 to $160 range, but I love them much better than the flash & champanski crowd anyway. I chatted few taxi drivers and ended up in a sauna-brother about 15km outside of the city. Kinda scary area, but US$ 50 gives you a suck&fuck. I really liked Lviv even though I was there only for a night and didn't venture out much. Some good food and nice areas. I plan to go back if someone can offer something here, or any other cities like it nearer to Kiev if I can figure it out.

Well, another day, another ruble.

Sorry been away for a while. Regarding my Budapest train antics, the girl was 16 (LEGAL!) , and I couldn't say no because she was smoking hot.

Hit major setbacks yesterday, nothing but nothing but wrong, only to hit another jackpot last night with Katya. I lost track of the Katya's, but this is my first McDonalds dyevushka. Right from the outset, Kasantip is the most miserable place I have seen so far in an FSU country! If you want to have a party among tons and tons of men, then this is the place to be. Already when waiting at the entrance queue for around 2 hours, we realized that girls were almost non-existing. Only men that were speaking Russian, english, turkish, arabic, german, french, italian, spanish etc. To make it short: M:W was around 5:1, no exaggeration!
Kazantip is done! Too many foreign and Russian men who are attracted by the idea that girls will jump at them round the neck. The massive advertisement campaigns outside russia, driven by the organizer's greed of profit, definitely killed this amazing festival. For a one-time entry (valid 24H) , each of us paid 100USD.
Back in 2004, a foreigner speaking barely 10 words of Russian could score every night a different top-notch freebee. Unfortunately the good times are gone forever.
It was a nice trip tough. Evpatoria has some good nightclubs with a young crowd. M:W still not good as usually in FSU countries. Weekends 3:1, on weekdays 2:1 or 1:1 if good luck. I have stayed in Koktebel and I saw a different scene. Maybe I was busy with my girlfriend, but I didn't see a lot of "top models". And yes, that place is annoying.

I just saw your post Prosal. There is not much night life during the week in Samara, but during the summer the embankment is good at least until 1:00am or so. That one club, Metelitsa, has 3 floors but during the week at least the first floor is always okay (at least 20-30 girls will be there). This info is from July.
If you are at all concerned with cost I would strongly, strongly urge you to go to Ukraine instead. There are still untapped smaller cities in Ukraine where foreigners have just as much of a bonus as in provincial Russia. In fact I would say more so, since you don't see as much anti-Americanism (if you're American).
For example, the town of Romny in Sumy oblast (pop. 50, 000) where I spent a few nights has only one club, but it's open 7 nights a week and is dirt cheap. I showed up every night and one night hosted a whole table of girls celebrating a birth day, the total bill was something like $70 (for champagne, chocolate, food, cocktails, etc. Etc.). A hotel room there was $12 a night for a luks room (standard room was $7 / night. And this was in 2009.
By comparison, in a small town of 50, 000 people in Russia where I spent two nights in 2010 I had a hotel room for $30 a night and it was absolutely terrible. I mean unbelievably bad. There was only one toilet in the entire hotel and it was in one of the rooms, so you had to knock and ask permission of that guest to use the toilet.
Or compare train prices. A kupe ticket from Moscow to Samara is about 4, 000 rubles ($120) for a 14 hour ride, while kupe from Kiev to Lviv is $20 (for a 10 hour ride). Beer in Samara is about 100 rubles at clubs ($3. 50) but only 6 hrivnya in provincial Ukrainian clubs ($0. 80). Hotels are correspondingly cheaper. Another example, the tram or bus in Samara is 15 rubles a ride ($0. 50) but in Kiev the metro is only $0. 25 (and in the provinces the buses are a lot less than that).
I spent a night out in a small Ukrainian town recently trying to find a good club (on a Friday). I took 4 taxis around the town, had 5-6 beers, a pack of cigarettes, and payed entrance at one of the clubs, and all of that was under $15 (which is what entrace costs at some clubs in Samara).
And Ukraine has some other perks that are just a hassle in Russia, for example there is no registration in Ukraine (which can be a pain if you are renting a private flat in Russia). Also in Russia, to buy a local SIM card you need local registration, so you might have to wait a few days after arriving to be able to call girls at all. In Ukraine it's just $5 cash for a SIM card no questions asked. And of course for EU citizens and Americans you don't even need a visa, which is a huge plus.
I think the main thing is to avoid the places in Ukraine that are just overloaded with mongers (Kiev and Odessa in particular). Western Ukraine also seems to not be as good in terms of girls, I think mainly because their attitude is more standoffish and they dress more modestly as well. But there are lots of Eastern Ukrainian cities where most people are Russian-speaking and their incomes are 1/3 of what people are making in Russia. I was just in Ukraine and met a group of girls working at the local shopping mall in a smaller city, and they all made less than $120 a month for 6 days a week working. In provincial Russia they would be making at least $400 a month.
But you could pick some unvisited cities. Have you heard of Priluky? What about Kramatorsk? Shostka?

Not much in this section about the pretty little city of Rovno. About a two hour drive from Lvov (and a roadwork laden 5 hours from Kiev), Rovno is definitely worth a visit if you like to stretch your proverbial wings beyond the well trod confines of Kiev.
During my 10 days working in Ukraine (mostly Kiev) I decided to take up an offer to visit a ukrainian buddy I had met a few times in Kiev (who had since returned to his hometown). He promised that Rovno had just enough nightlife to make the journey worthwhile and he wasn't wrong.
First things first, I met one person in Rovno who could speak conversational english. Some knew a few words but the main language in Rovno is Ukrainian, although everybody speaks Russian and I can just about get by with that (but, learning the basics in Ukrainian goes a LONG way).
So now the interesting stuff. Hotels, there are two pretty good hotels in the center, I stayed in the Ukraina Hotel overlooking the main city theatre. A suite set me back about $200 a night but I was treating myself. Lovely view, beautiful and elegant hotel. Hotel Mir just up the road had nice suites as well, but was slightly cheaper but didn't have an irish bar attached to it. I especially liked the Ukraina because the entrance went straight to the lift and was blind to the reception desk. Handy later on that.
During the day there's not that much to do in Rovno in Winter. Restaurants and chilly walks are about your only options if you aren't already ensconced with a girl. But at night Rovno definitely comes alive. First night I ended up at Laguna bar. A deceptively big club, it was (and I mean this literally) full of hot, young ladies with a ratio of about 5 girls to each guy. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Then I ordered a round of drinks (whiskys and beer for 4) and I KNEW I was in heaven. Rovno does not suffer from Kiev's over inflation when it comes to alcohol and food.
Great atmosphere in the bar, and the quality of young ladies was superb. I was dragged out of that club to go somewhere else but trust me, I was fighting to stay! If she is a "normal" girl, looking to date and potential relationship, then it might simply be a nice gesture to meet you at the airport.
Certainly if a girl was visiting my city I would do that. However, it is some distance between Nikoleav and Odessa, so that is a bit of a stretch.
Normally she would ask for money to travel to another city to meet you, even if she is entirely legitimate.
So it depends on the relationship you have already established with this girl. If you have been chatting for weeks and have developed a rapport, she might well go to the airport to meet you.
But if it is a casual date or a pro, then that would be an unusual investment of her time and expense.
The only real scam I can imagine is if she has her own agenda for a driver and apartment and thinks she can manipulate you.

As a foreigner, Lviv can be challenging for both pick-up and p4p. People in general are a bit more sceptical to foreigners and even Russian speakers might experience resistance. I found it helped to contact one or two of the local English language schools (university included) and offer voluntary English tutoring. It helped a great deal in making useful contacts and wonderful hospitality. I also had a business card made up with my address, dished it out at supermarkets and everywhere else, and quickly found the girls knocking at my door. TK, it looks like I mistook Kharkov's location. I am learning a lot.
I am using a Wikipedia old map showing the percentage of Russian speaking population by provinces. Kharkov had 44% and Donetsk had 75% coming second after the Crimea region. This is based on 2001 census and again it is by majority populations of each province so it is possible that one city like Kharkov has a higher tilt towards Russian.
Kharkov is the second largest city and with big cities usually you'll find big troubles.
Remember, I'll be looking for an apartment amongst locals, so having a nice, safe and friendly environment is important for my long stay.
To give you a prospective, when in Moldova I stayed in Tiraspol, Transnistria and that is a small town but for me it was a great experience. Girls there where still innocent, not spoiled by pop culture and very very hungry sexually. The town was dull but the girls where amazing and friendly. Always smiling at me. I felt like a novelty. LOL

Big advantage: Location about 100m to the beach; almost directly at the promenade; 5m walk from the walking area with bars, restaurants etc. But still quiet, because at end of dead end street; 10m walk from disco "Amsterdam". So very close to the action.
Disadvantage: breakfast was nothing special.

The cheap accomodation you will only find in Evpatoria directly. So you might book 2/3 nights in the hotel, and look for yourself then.
No idea about connection from airport: there should be a minibus to railway station. You should ask at airport after arrival, or even before your take-off just other passengers, looking like Ukrainians. In worst case, a taxi. From railway station a bus every hour.
Usually, at the bus station in Evpatoria, there are always some "maklers" offering accomodation. In case, you can not book in advance, do it there for a few days only. And then look around yourself. Advance booking is not the standard in UA (because of no-shows, not paying) , so to book on the spot is the way, most people do.
You should visit the restaurant in the photo. Crimean tartares run it. It is located opposite to the old gate to "Small Jerusalem", the old Jewish part of Evpatoria. Excellent food, good interieur, reasonable prices. No reservations, you have to queue up soon enough.

Only other option to save money is maybe a hostel, where you share a room with 4 or 6 other guys. But now, money is not your problem. Problem in Yalta will be to find hotel with available room.

From what you report, Evpatoria has many possibilities. Talk to your Turkish friends and your Tatar taxist. But don't waste so much time with the women who only want to kiss and close dancing. I had tried to be open to possibilities usually. Succeeded sometimes but not always. Now when I look back I understand what kind of opportunities that I missed.
1) The receptionist in the hotel. I was crazy after her while showing me the breakfast salon and climbing up 4 floors in front of me with the hot uniform mini skirt. She was one of the very few english speaker girls there and I should definitely ask her because was taking positive attention but silly me didn't.

This is my 4 th time in EE. Everytime I am being more convenient and every time it bites me from somewhere. I had never lost my wallet since 35 years in Turkey neither my money removed my pocket. Despite the fact that it s just at some 80 km from Dnepro, which seems to be a pretty successful city with many modern malls, super upscale venues, ect, Zaporojie gives a feeling of "forgotten industrial shithole". That said, I m here since almost three weeks now and really enjoy the place. First, there s NO sex-tourists (and no tourists for that matter). I m not joking, since I m here I ve never bumped into a foreigner. Second, the women are really something to behold (better that Kiev IMO) and because of the lack of foreigners, the White God Factor (provided you are decent looking and dressed with refinement and style) seems to be really high, or let s say much higher than in Kharkov, Lviv, Niko, ect. Third, people are super nice, polite, honest (even taxi drivers) and service is simply perfect everywhere. Fourth, it s dirty cheap. A nice apartment in the center is 18€/day, drinks are a steal in clubs, restaurants are dirty cheap, taxis to anywhere in town are 30 grivnas, ect.
Anyway, a short list of where to go:
- Banana Club (Lenina): the locals call this place "our little Kiev" and it s where the "bad girls" congregate and where you want to go. Fully packed in weekends, and often busy on weekdays. Arrive early to get a table. Vodka bottle (Smirnoff) 20 €, Corona 2. 5€, no cover for the tables.
- Carrousel (near Ukraine mall): a rather upscale place, but nice and with good music. Full of upper-class women aged 24/35 yo. All tables.

Dnepro is an enjoyable city indeed, admittedly much more welcoming than Zapo (that said, Zapo has its own charm).

Introduction
I was there to meet an internet contact so chasing girls was not my primary purpose. We meshed really well and we stayed together during the four weeks I spent in Zapo, but when she was not in town (her mother owns high-end women fashion stores and they often went to Odessa to buy stuff) I did game a few girls though. I stayed four weeks there.
Logistics
- Getting There:
Zapo is a city of about 800 000, but they have just a crappy little airport with almost no activity. Even Ukrainian Airways has stopped its flights to Zp. So you have either to fligh to Kiev and then take an overnight train, either to fligh to Dnepropetrovsk (flights via Kiev, Moscow and Vienna) and then take a train or a taxi (80 km) or a train to Zapo. I don't know what could be the cost for a taxi. Zaporojie is definitely a forgotten city off the beaten path. BTW Dnepro airport is also a little airport with no gates or jetbridges.
- Getting Around.
You'll probably spend all your time in the center. Lenina prospekt is the main avenue, and in fact is the longest avenue in Europe, with some 24 kms. The real center stretches on about 2/3 km, from the Intourist hotel to Shevshenko Park. Everything is at, at most, two blocks from Lenina, so it's very easy to navigate. Depending on the situation, you may be able to walk pretty much everywhere. If not, you have to take taxis. They don't have a meter but charge you 30 grivnas at most (2, 5€). Never been overcharged once.
- Accommodation.
GF booked an apartment for me, with a girl who was professional and easy to work with. I paid about 550 € for the whole stay (four weeks) for a very nice 80 square meters with views on Lenina. My advice, as in all spreaded cities, is to focus closely on location.
Eating
Surprisingly, there is many good eating options in Zapo. And as I said in my first post, it's dirty cheap. A three courses diner for two with lot of drinks (with GF we usually drank beer and vodka) costs in the best upscale venues about 40 € at max. What is strange is that in trendy restaurants, clients are at 90% women. I'd recommend:
- Fish Cafe (on Lenina) : One of the most trendy cafe / restaurant in town, lot of good fish dishes, very nice outdoor terrace. Expensive by Zapo standarts. Great for dates. I dined there at least three times a week.
- Rozmarin (Shevshenko av) : My headquarter, very enjoyable summer terrace (photo in a previous post). Chic, very good italian food, and very cute young waitresses. One (honestly, the prettiest) gave me, hidden in the bill, her phone number.
- Fiesta (next to Rozmarin) : Huge summer terrace (with DJs from 5pm) on the Shevshenko park, packed (really) with girls. Decent food, great place for pre-dinner game.
- Nair (far from the center) : A chic Armenian venue, in a stylish two storeys building with courtwards, terraces, hidden corners, ect. VEry very good and very enjoyable.
- Aristokrat (on Lenina) : A pretentious place that looks like a roman temple, but open 24 hours and very "in" with party-goers. Huge summer terrace, DJ, good food.
- Pinta (Lenina) : Also a nice terrace, one of the best ukrainian restaurant in town. Delicious saussages and soups.
- Jolly Rogers : On the river, huge summer restaurant with an immense terrace, very nice, gorgeous views on the river and on Khortitsya island. Great to have a romantic quiet late lunch or diner with your GF. There is maybe a dozen of restaurants with terraces on the Dniepr by the way, but Roger is definitely the most enjoyable. There is sometimes live music at night, then the place becomes very busy. Lot of girls.
Some streets as Stalevarov (a nice tree-lined street) are filled with cafes with nice terraces, very enjoyable to have breakfast or drink a few beers.
In all places, service is simply perfect. I couldn't emphasis more about the quality of service in this part of Ukraine.
Night Venues
In Zapo, no P4P and sleazy sex-tourists (well, no tourists at all in fact). There is nonetheless a club. Banana. That the locals call "our little Kiev" and this is where sluts congregate. Drinks are a steal (vodka bottle costs 25 €, Corona 3 €) , no charge for tables. Bathrooms are unisex (as everywhere in Ukraine) so it is very easy to game girls waiting in line or fixing their make-up. I fucked a girl in the toilets one night and honestly I could have had a few ONS often there, but I most often went with GF. Everyone drinks a lot but the guys are not aggressive and I've never wittnessed a brawl, but I've been involved in a fight outside with gopniki that couldn't go in. Many videos of Banana on youtube:

Other clubs:
- Caroussel (near the Ukraine mall) : an upscale venue, but very nice, with good live music. All tables, so difficult to open. Ratio w / m about 5/1 (no cheating). Upper-class women. 25-30 years old.
- Crown Bar (Intourist hotel) : the "in" club of Zapo for 18/22. Shitty music, too loud.

We know that in Ukraine, drinking on benches or circulating with a bottle in your hand is considered as normal, so in summer the parks, squares, Lenina prospekt, ect, are FILLED, till late, with groups of girls sitting on benches drinking beer and waiting for boys to pick them up. Very easy to game. I was literally eye-fucked when I strolled around alone in the evening. But it's usually girls who don't speak a lot of english.
Impressions
You have to like the "frontier" destinations to enjoy a place like Zapo. Donetsk or Kharkov, per exemple, are much more "civilized". Zapo has a "old style FSU" atmosphere that not everyone might enjoy. Personally, I like it a lot. It's the greenest city in Ukraine BTW. Also the White God Factor works in Zapo (as in Dnepropetrovsk for that matter) much more than anywhere else I've been in Ukraine. I think anyone with moderate game, a decent wardrobe (VERY important) , and at least 10 days there could be quite successful if they focused on their goals. It's also culturally more interesting than most other East Ukraine cities. Zaporojie region and especially Khortitsya island was the largest cossack "sich". Republic- of the Russian empire.
Girls from Eastern Ukraine are simply the best (and IMO, they are even more gorgeous in Zapo and Dnepro than in Kharkov).
I'll definitely be back this spring, for a one-month stay.

First of all we start our trip to Ukraine from Dniepropietrovsk from Sunday and we stay till Tuesday when we have flight to Lviv.
