Anything going on here in Edinburgh? Certainly someone has some advice.. I know about the Burke and Hare.. What about the massage parlours?

Edinburgh has some of the hottest sauna/massage action going after London and Manchester. Its cheep, cheerfull and usually of very good quality too.
Generally u will find that OWO is a normal practice and £60 to £80 should cover you for most things.
London Street sauna- Basement and sub-basement flat converted to a sauna. Can get very busy and you may have to wait for a room but the girls are HOT and willing to please. If your new you will get a tour of the place and it procedures, they will make you feel comfortable and welcome and you can spend as much time as you need to there.
Blair Street sauna- Probably the very best of the best in the selection of quality girls.

BB: The closest parlours to your hotel are not necessarily the best. Blair Street and London Street is about a 20 minute brisk walk away and well worth making the journey for. Scorpio's is 20 minutes further.
You will be best advised to stick with the parlours recommended further down the board with the caveat that standards of service will vary between the ladies even at these establishments. The good news is that poor performers are in the minority though they do exist and good performers abound.
My favourite is Carol's in Easter Road where I've had some really excellent experiences over the years.

I think a previous poster said that the "tolerance zone" located on Salamander Street in Leith was shut down. Not a lot to add to previous reports - just got back from 2 weeks in Edinburgh - tried out Blair Street Sauna.
Had to wait for quite a long time as all the girls were busy, but maybe this is a good sign!

OceanDon't know if this is too late for you now but Dalmahoy is something like 10-12 miles from the city centre (which is basically where all the saunas are) and it would be 20 mins and £10-15 by taxi.

Newtown Sauna in Hart Street, Blair St Sauna, or Scorpio in Albion Road.
Newtown: mostly MILF material, a relaxed environment, some good girls.

Visited this place on Saturday 30th June at 1.00am. It is located on the very busy main road going into/out of Edinburgh and the entrance is right on the pavement. If you don't want any passerby or bus load of people seeing you, you need to be quick!

There are one or two pockets of suburbian flower-bedded semis, but most of Livingston is characterised by roads that go in circles. Having a little spare time I was looking for some entertainment in Edinburgh. After consulting the forum, I found that New Town Sauna and London Street Sauna where next door.
First I went to London Street Sauna (LSS). The girl at the entrance asked about me knowing the place. I denied and one of the WG showed me the whole place, with no obligations for me. Knowing FKK clubs in Germany or Switzerland I was a little dissapointed and left the place again. 7 girls where there, 3 working when I came by in early evening. The looks of the girls can be rated in the 5-7 department.
I then moved over to New Town Sauna, which is approx. 500m away. A good looking girls greeted me at the entrance and told me I have to pay the entrance fee of 20 to be admitted inside. I should have been warned! She was the only one looking good, but not on the menu.
The place is much smaller than LSS. The size of the sauna is approx 2 sqm. 4 girls were announced, two of them available. I undressed and while going to the sauna, I saw them - I would rate them 3-5. Still hoping, I went into the sauna, where you can watch the ladies leaving there rooms. The third one was no better, so that I cut my losses and left the place.
Quite frustrated I considered going back to LSS, but decided against it. With reference to an earlier posting, Tara was not there at New Town Sauna.
Being the first time to Scotland, I can´t measure the standards in local terms.

I just got back to my hotel room from LSS. The postive reports are right on. I saw Susan ...beautiful face...c cup...great performer. Just returned from Edinburgh and had to report on my visits to the London Street Sauna. It's been reports as one of the best spots in a previous report and I have to seriously agree.
I rang on Friday morning @ 10.30am and was told that they had 8 girls ranging in age from 20-31 and the receptionist was extremely friendly and advised I visit and get a tour before deciding whether to sample.
The facilities are excellent, shower, lockers, sauna, steam-room and nice relaxed lounge. After a coffee I selected Meg (Tall stunning Slovenian) for 45 minutes. I know the good saunas in Edinburgh very well. London St, Scorpio, Blair St, Newtown and Carols. All these are good.
I made the error of departing from these and trying another place, just off Rose Street pedestrian area. I think that there are two there, Executive and Angels. I think that it was Angels and it was a waste of money. The girl was there in person, but had little liking for what she was doing. She did tell me that Blair St and Newtown "are owo saunas". In past years, London street used to be the same. I was told then that the girls are told to "do OWO or your out. " This is no longer the case with London Street, as far as I know.
About a year ago, I happened across Comely Bank Sauna. A polite older man behind the desk showed me a very appealling young lady, slim, with dark hair. I meant to go back but did not.

My advice would be avoid! Only been there once, still set out as the old style "health club", lots of exercsies rooms, etc. A gaggle of bored-looking girls, who give you a "dirty old pervert" sort of look if you choose one of them for your service. LSS used to be exemplary. But a few years ago the ownership changed. The change in attitudes may not be intentional, but the high standards that it used to have must have needed a special charisma and leadership to maintain and motivate and so on.
GFE (and BBBJ) used to be the norm for many, many years. There would be the occasional girl having an off-day. I will attempt to help clarify the incident for you.
Within 60 seconds of arriving in our room together Renata called the front desk complaining I didn't want a session. the bar/cafe isn't actually opposite - it's on the same corner. you have the bar, a basement grocers, then the sauna.

It's a sad reflection on our society that such activities can't be more open. I think my own attitude is very influenced by whether there is a reasonable risk of bumping into a censorious business or social acquaintance that might be working or socialising in any given area, so I if some people feel shy (especially say, if they are dressed to the nines and looking very noticeable lol) I won't feel too hard on them.

Although not exclusive to the UK section, I thought I'd share some thoughts on this. If we put it on a scale (where zero is mechanical and disengaged, and ten is the girl you feel passionately in love with and fancy sh*gging to eternity - but can separate reality from fantasy) then isn't the broad psychological factor more important than many of us give credit for? Looks, comfort, even safety may be important, but if a girl can steal your heart for an hour (and hopefully you have the sense to let her return it) then we instantly rate her highly.
Personally I think it is similar in relationships. Great sex is one thing. Feeling in tune with someone, having a nice lingering glow afterwards - that's not something you get on mastercard easily.
It's become very popular to offer it, but not all girls have the skill. Sandy's Superstars in Manchester includes it as a specialty like any of the physical things (last time I looked, all the girls at least claim to offer it). The most marked contrast is Sydney down in Oz. Regular brothels offer a high service but not gfe (though in practice many of them seem to). A Velcro bag was provided for valuables. I gave Sofia a £5 tip as it was an excellent punt at the price and I would recommend her.
Only real downside was that I must have been on cloud 9 when I took a shower before leaving. Left my watch in the changing room. No sign of it when I phoned back.
If you search for Townhouse on the web rather than AdultWork, check that you get the right one <g> – there’s a gay place also advertised under that name. Pretty hard to mix them up though!

Here are some thoughts and reports on Edinburgh Saunas. Before they get closed down by new legislation. Hopefully this won't happen but it seems likely.
For the uninitiated, the quality of women and service has actually got better in Edinburgh over the years, probably due to the influx of foreign girls. Making the whole thing a bit more competitive. The saunas are advertised in the Evening News with their licence numbers in the ad.
The four that are worth a visit are Scorpio in Leith, Newtown & London Street in the east of the New town, and Blair Street off the High Street. I've never been entirely convinced by the quality of service provided at London St. I've seen two pretty girls who provided average service, and the rooms are getting a bit dated, plus there is a 45 minute limit. So the reviews are from Scorpio, Newtown and Blair St.
Scorpio first. In at lunchtime for a 45 minute session, with a bit of a hangover to shake off. Spent couple of minutes trying to decipher the costs with the girl at the desk (Spanish? ). I think £25 at the desk and £65 for the session. Shown around by a blonde with heels short red dress and stockings. Good to get going. £70 to the chap at the counter for 45 minutes. Two girls sitting in the lounge to choose from. Well 'girls' is stretching it a bit, they were both in their 30's and I chose the brunette. Into the room, dirty mattress (yuk) and old sheets, then into the dodgy shower, then onto business. I'm hard to put off when on a mission, but these are very poor working conditions for the long-suffering ladies working in the place (note), many punters would just walk out.

I don't have any experience of the German FKKs (yet! ) but I have done a fair bit of punting in various foreign parlours (Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic and Poland) and the Edinburgh scene stacks up VERY favourably in comparison to any experience I've had in any of the aforementioned countries. Can't believe I have missed this site until now! This will not be a long report - those can follow later. I have used WG services all over the world and having spent large periods of time residing in Edinburgh I have made trips to all of the saunas - good and bad - over the course of many years.
My most recent favourite WG was Brooke at Newtown Sauna... early 20's absolutely amazing experience and she really enjoyed herself as well. The term sex addict would definitely apply to her. After 193 WG experiences in Edinburgh saunas, I can confirm, on balance, the following;
1. There are two places that you just can't put a cigarette paper between in terms of the girls available and the WG's attitude to what they are doing and towards the clientele - London Street Sauna and Blair Street. Of course you might have a bad experience in one of them (I NEVER have) in the same way you may have a good experience in one of the poor establishments but overall you can't go wrong with those two. LSS has fantastic management too and a real club feel once you get to know the management, Davey, the girls (whether you have picked them or not) and even some of the regulars.
2. Newtown is a discreet and friendly place but often the girls are older and its a bit hit and miss as to whether you find a gem like Brooke who was there until recently. They do have some great girls though - like I say its just more hit and miss when you go.

Great first post Muffin - welcome aboard.
For visitors to Edinburgh, it's maybe worth noting that the city has a vibrant lap-dance bar scene. Most of the bars are located in or near what locals call the 'pubic triangle' in West Port. Google a map of Edinburgh and this is two or three minutes walk from the main Lothian Road (which also sports a couple of lap dance bars). Not all of them are outrageously priced. The Western Bar (http://www.thewesternbar.com/), for instance, has free admission in quiet periods (from memory I think this is noon till 5pm, Mon-Thu) and £5 lap dances (about £5 admission at other times).
Gone are the days when you could get a jolly good grope with certain dancers. The Great & the Good have ensured that consenting adults are not allowed to touch in such places, but for a fiver the lapdances (in a private cubicle except in some of the bigger places) are still ok. Depending on the girl, you may get more or less contact, but your hands are to be kept out of the way at all times (Your 'freedom' is limited to putting hairs on your palms afterwards lol). Careful about asking for 'extras'. Most girls don't do them. One or two also escort but you have to approach it carefully. *This can be an expensive route, especially when you add in slightly overpriced drinks and the fact that the girl will probably want more than the average rates if she makes any arrangement with you. The dances alone work out about the same price as sex (3 minute song @ £5, times 10, = £50 for half an hour - about the cheapest of the going rates). On a recent visit i went to two of the saunas much discussed here, London Street Sauna and Blair Street Sauna. I was impressed. I've heard rumors) I decided to give it a miss on this occasion, and went to the previously untested (for me) New Town Sauna.
The big plus New Town has over the others is that it's very discrete - it's in basement premises down a quiet side-street, and with very understated external signage it manages to stay inconspicuous.
The maid was very friendly and ushered me in and showed me the lockers and changing area. If you're used to LSS or even Scorpio standards then it's *very* basic - you don't get a bag that you can carry with your valuables (not sure if they'll supply one on request?) but I just stored everything in my locker and there were no problems. Once you get out of your clothes and into your towel, you then have to walk down the corridor (past reception) to the showers - I found this setup a little odd, and different to what I'm used to at other places, but it was no big deal. The waiting room is immediately next to the showers, so you can get straight down to it once you're clean!
There were a few girls on - mostly older (late 20s/30s). I can't remember all the names, but my choice was a blonde, busty girl called Samantha who I'd been with before at Scorpio. She gave reasonable service; I've had better, I've had worse. It was a satisfactory punt.

As Christopherd states, it is under new management. Formerly known as Dundas Street Sauna, and more recently as Oriental Garden or something like that.
I did report earlier on in this thread about my one experience I had there many, many years ago, and certainly on the basis of that I would not recommend it.
However, having read christopherd's most recent report, I was curious enough to pay a visit only last night. The flashy website too, gave me reason to head over that way. A couple of things we seem to agree on and could be said to be fairly objective. Firstly, it's a bargain. As you said, £50 for OWO and CIM. Often these are not on the cards even at the higher price in the popular saunas like London Street.
Secondly, the facilities are not posh compared to London Street. I haven't found it 'dark' but certainly it hasn't had the money spent on it that many places have.

But dodgy plumbing is a possibility also. If the difference in price is minimal to you, then that would be another reason to avoid it though.
I think being able to walk straight in off the street comes as quite a shock the first time. To me, that adds to the laid back feel. Wander in, you can even just make your own cuppa if you like. Security? Against what? Police raids? Unlikely, unless they break the law, which at the moment they're not. Belongings? There's no lockers, but you take all your kit to the room, hang it up, leave your wallet etc in a safe pocket, lock the door. I don't see a problem there. No. 9 ... just dont get it mixed up with Edinburgh's Top Gay Sauna ... No 18! Was there once a year ago or so ( No 9!) and I don't remember it being anything special. I've never been near No 9 (Rose St?) because of the consistently bad reviews. Dundas St is, as they say very hit and miss. They don't keep the place clean, which is inexcusable, even if they have some good girls. Blair St is a bit 'busy' with the festival, but worth brass-necking it for some talented pussy. It was I think last Saturday(?) though I didn't go. £25 admission which covered drinks and snacks. There was a page on their website (click 'Party') and they have only just taken it down. Anyway, short answer, it's passed.
