THE HOTEL TO GOT TO FOR ACTION IS THE:

....... The Palm Grove Hotel .......

Ask for a little dark skin short guy who wear a Rasta Hat, who then at my visit worked the night shift. I remember his name as being something that started with an "A." SOunds like Amid or Amadu. If I can remember the name I will edit this and include it.

.... I think any of the men woeking the hotel can assist in your needed. To get a girl it will cost you about $30-50 for her, $10-20 for the retriver (the hotel guy), and $5 to the two guards ... so in total it can be between $50-75.

....... Now be very certain you get them several types of woen you like, or a very detail description of what you want.
REMEMBER ..... you are NOT at home, so what men like in women will change.

....... LASTLY ....... I forgot the name of the city so just look up the hoels name. I know it is just across the big river separating the two countries. If at all possible avoid taking the fairy(sp), it is a real pain in the ass, and take up too damn much time.

....... HAVE FUN !!!!!!!

Hell man u r paying well too much!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gambia the most u should ever pay 4 a girl is £10 (thats if u think shes worth it)
Come on , the average wage here is 400Dalasis (about£12 at this time)
No way u ever pay a girl £30 to £50.
As for the guys £2/£3 each is considered more than enough.

That's all I ever pay and they still come back for more.

Best bet get yourself an apartment and avoid the hookers round the tourist areas. find a local bumster (there r some good ones) and get some 'local' talent.

I just went out round some of the village areas and pointed out girls I liked. 9 out of 10 will be most happy to meet up with u later.

Your £10/£20 for the retriver would get u 3/4 full days with a a bumster guide and they will work their ass off to find u exactly what u want if u find the right one.

I can suggest a couple of names if anyone interested. Just tell me what u looking 4 and I might have the guide 4 u.

Dear WORDUP:
I have great respect for you and your 100+ postings, but this time I have to agree with Happyfaces99 about your overly-generous payments.

I've lived in and/or visited 32 different African countries, and the reality is that $10 - $15 (up to UK £10) is more than enough to give any lady. If you want, you can give a couple dollars more as "taxi fare," but that is it. Considering that regular educated people in The Gambia and similar countries make $100 a month salary, and uneducated girls make no more than $15-25 a month salary as a housegirl, giving $50 a night is too much.

I also agree with Happyfaces99 that one is actually more likely to have good sex with the local "amateur" talent as opposed to one of the full-time hookers working the bars and restaurants outside Senegambia Hotel and the other tourist areas.

Defending my "WORD" .... POST !!!!

....... YES I AM NOT GOING TO DISAGREE WITH YOU !!!!

.... I could have gotten more for less, but I was on a very agressive schedule and really did not have the time to really search the streets like I wanted to. Plus, I had to be very safe with my choices, even though Gambia and Senegal are low in AIDS/HIV, I made a choice to go with the girls who could show theeir check up cards, and prove they get the bi weekly, check ups. Plus the one who are in and around the hotels are more reliable, and you don't have to worry about getting ripped off, or mugged.

....... Only toward the end of my trip did I get the bargains, but I did not post them because, these girls are clean, but NOT always to the level most Westerners are us too. No they are not nasty, but if you have been to Aftrica you will know deodrants as we use are very expensive there, and NOT widely used. Africans do take several daily baths when they can. So some of the girl do have a stronger smell to their bodies than the more Pro Ladies.

....... Alot of the men use their relatives to make money, and if I was the generous American, then so be it. If I gave some African more money at one time than they make in a month "GOOD." These people treated me .... "GGGGGREAT." And I LOVED every minute of it. I have seen unbelievable proverty in both countries, so I don't mind spending my American dollars to help their population. Even if I am being selfish in my generiousity.

..... If you have the time to tour the area, you can get SEX from very young girl #16 with NO kids for $5, some even for $2, and get a girl all night and day for $5-10. Alot of the girl are extremely beautiful. I just did not have the time to explore, as I wanted too.
NEXT time I get back there I want have more time to explore and see what fun I can really have. I won't be on Business and I will not have the time to reant an apartment, I will keep to the Hotels, but I will take more time.

.... IFYOU HAVE MORE ADVANCE I WELCOME IT ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS. i CAN GET THERE FROM HERE (2500 MILES AWAY) ONCE or TWICE IN A LIFE TIME. I WILL BE BACK BUT NONE TOO SOON. TOO DAMN FAR AWAY !!!!

.... Still, I will be back to Africa some time soon. JUST TO another part of it. See my post after then.

.... I will be heading to the DR .... to Sousa .... to test the waters there.

P.S. - There is more information I can gave, some of it I must keep to myself, for my own reasons. It is info will worth knowing, but I give it to people I have met in person. OR trusted email friends. "WORD" !!!!

sorry if my post appeared rep001hing, no offense intended.

being a regular visitor, 2/3 times a year, i know what the gambian "boys" are like and was just trying to ensure that others don't end up being scammed by them. if they see u paying high prices for things, they often think of you as an easy mark for fleecing u dry. i can't really blame them, as you say the poverty is appaling.

also i feel that giving a girl nearly a months wages (10 uk pounds) is better, as she could explain this to her family, wereas 6 months wages is a little harder to explain. the money will always be given straight to their mother, etc for food, school fees etc. they seem to just think it is their lucky day to meet u and are happy with what ever you give them.
paying these girls large sums, will only encourage them into full time prostitution, usually on the "encouragement" of their parents. i'd hate to see the place turning into another thailand.

or maybe i'm being a stereotypical scot ;-)

sevaral members have expressed interest in going to gambia. well let me say for first timers africa its a good beginning. just be natural and relax all the girls will come to you. i dont mean just pros either. every female from 12 upwards will try to grab you as a walking bank. small girls, big girls and women all try for you all the time. every waitress yes every one is available, every room maid, every female hotel staff from managment downover is awaiting you.

school fees -- every girl says she needs school fees, her line is her mother has sent her out to get them from tourists by any means whatsoever and if she fails she must leave school. 18,17 19 years old and will willingly go to your room for a fee !!!. the girls families send them out to try and capture a tourist and they will virtually drag you to their compound to show off the catch.

no need of the hundreds of prostitutes at all the tourist outlets as the amatuers greatly outnumber them. the pros are mostly sengalese , nigerian, ivory coast, siera leone, malian, or whatever the wind of africa blows in. i was acosted by a child (12) outside my hotel who wanted to go to my room for school fees!!! i asked her why this hotel and she said her uncle was the chef and if i agreed her he would get her past the security as she was **** and i was to pay him. what a state to be in when kids are on the street ?? i refused naturally but i can say many many do not, everything and everyone has a price.

outside mangia lodge where i stayed. the weekly kids disco atracted loads of kids who could not afford the admission and tourists paid them in for a favour of course !! all said they were sixteen of course but they would struggle for 14-15 most of them.

sex was roughly 150 dalasia@35+1p=6.5usd

THIS IS THE INFORMATION, I did NOT include.

....... EMAIL, you are so very right. As an American, and as a person, I just could NOT see having SEX with with what I see as a MINOR, NOR giving anyone information on it. I was offered minor young girls and I refused with a passion. I even threatened to report them to the POLICE, and told them if I ever saw a minor in the room of any guest for SEX I would report them too. I just can't see it. Kids should be kids !!!! I personally would NOT accept anyone under 18y/o, for NO reason, and with no ID's to show I saw some girls that looked under 18y/o, but they had their State/Gov. Health card, so they can legally Hook.

....... There are too many men reading this board who look to have sex with very young girls and I will "NOT" assist them in that. One word of reason .... even in Africa, if you are caught having SEX with children, they will have little mercy on you especially if that was your intent, to have a minor service you.
THIS "YOU" NOW KNOW !!!!

.... As For The NON PROS, I got a lot of action from young girls at the market area in Dakkar. These girls looked over 16y/o, but I did NOT get a chance to engage since I did not speak French, and did NOT want to offend my guide as I was shopping with others, who came along, to shop too. I could see they were interested, and in broken English I was asked if they wanted them to visit me at my Hotel. I just did NOT have enough time, and I would have to get them pass security once they arrived, and unless I were waiting for them at the Hotel, they had no way to reach me, unless they paid security to call me, and very few had the money.

....... At night I did not see SW walking pass my Hotel, as I would see in the States or else where. Around my Hotel it was fairly quiet. And being a person of uncommon sense, I did not journey alone into the night .... Regardless of how safe the streets looked. The Hotel, had some fine hookers at the Hotel bar. They girls were between 22-30, and the French men visiting the Hotel, spoiled the broth, by paying them far too much. These girl want $100us.
Thanks but NO Thanks !!!! I did get a bar hook who took a liking to me, and she would cut me a break. I paid for all night, what others paid for just a few hours. She did tell me that she could only get with me, if she slipped away, and did NOT let the Hotel manager see her take the elevator up. She usually came up after 1am, and left around 8-9am.

....... I wish I had this information prior to my trip. I would have been able to smooth navigate through my visit. The posting of the present information, would have made my visit a virtual sexual paradise.

I flew to gambia in february 02 with a highly respected company called Gambia Experience and included in the deal was the first nights free stay in a place called the Malawi guest house.

I arrived and was shown a nice room and had a showerand went for a beer in the guest house barwhere i was accosted by a gambian offering me the services of a boy!!! about twelve years old. I was staggered. I pissed him off, however the owner a white guy was around and it was quickly obvious he had his own bum boy of about 11yrs. It turned out to be mainly the haunt of child fuckers. As i watched. a gambian guy came with a boy and a girl who the waiter said were for sex hire.

Next day i went to my flight operator near the sennagambia hotel and reported this state of affairs , ---- this is what i got -- if i made a complaint to the police they would ask for and keep my passport until it was all settled !!! and as it was usually many months before a court hearing I would be there some time!!. I dropped it and as I was just a one nighter there I got on with my hols.

On arrival back in UK I took up the case with them (tour operator) and after several e-mails i got a letter saying they had dropped the Malawi guest house from the list of approved accom. However due to police corruption I dare bet it is still in business. The guy running the place was paying all school fees for the kids and feeding them, and his chosen one slept in his appartment, as I said in my previous mail everything has a price and poverty is the problem. I just thought this may clear up any illusions on the gambian sex scene.

Response received by email on 03-10-03:

This report could be grounds for a libel action. I have stayed at said guest house once before and never saw any signs of the illegal activities stated in this post.

I think the name of the property should be removed, unless there is proof otherwise, on legal grounds.

As a regular to The Gambia (bout 10 times now), I must say I'm surprised at the reports of very young girls on the Game. I must say I have never come across any obvious child prostitution.

Gambian girls do mature early (my girlfriends daughter looked about 14 when she was 10), so it would be an easy mistake to make.
If any of thesekids you guys are taking about looked 12 by european standards thats scary, cause by the norm in Gambia they would be much younger.

By the way, the police have moved out and the army now "police" the tourist areas, which seems to be controlling the "Bumster" problem.

Can anybody who have been to gambia answer this question:
-is it common that the girls have got their clitoris removed?
(i read in the lonley planet guidebook that it was over 80%!?)
If that is true it is really tragic. Please tell what you have
experienced.

I spent a lot of time in The Gambia in the late 80s-early 90s and again for a month in 2000 and yes, it's true, and as a result many women just tend to lie there during FS and can't achieve an orgasm. This is also true with many of the Muslim women in the other Sahel countries such as Senegal, Mali and the northern parts of Burkina Faso.

On the other hand, for many of the women the operation only removed part of the clitoris but not the nerve endings, so a little muff diving on your part can drive the women absolutely wild. I still have great memories of a hot babe who I nailed back in August 1989 - she screamed so much that I thought that the Senegambia Hotel security was going to come knocking on my door.

Cheer up, it could be worse. In Somalia they "circumcize and infibullate" the women; that is, they cut off all of the clitoris, then they remove the labia major and labia minor, then they sew up the vagina except for a small hole. This is usually done when the girl is 6 to 10 years old and is done to guarantee virginity, but it also causes a high rate of infection and infertility, plus incredible complications at childbirth, plus guarantees that the woman can never enjoy sex (which supposedly helps ensure that a woman will never be unfaithful to their husband). A small but significant percentage of girls bleed to death from the procedure, and another percentage of women needlessly die during childbirth. A Somali tradition is that a woman goes into seclusion for 10 days after her wedding day, supposedly to think romantic thoughts of her new husband, but actually it is to recover from "opening night."

I lived in Somalia for almost a year about 20 years ago and speak from extensive personal experience. And I've traveled in over 75 countries throughout the world and this is the single most barbaric practice I've ever come across.

***********
One sad footnote. In 1983 I was in the U.S. and watched a porn movie with a Somali woman in her mid-20s, educated but who had never travelled outside of her country. She seemed fascinated by the vaginal areas of the women in the film, then finally said to me "what's wrong with all of these girls? why do their bodies look like that?" to which I replied that there was nothing wrong with the women in the film, that that was what normal women looked like down there, and that she was the one who wasn't "normal." She spent the rest of the movie looking very sad while carefully studying the women's vaginal areas. I felt bad telling her, but she needed to know.

Luckily this practice seems to be dying out, as more and more Somalis (both male and female) travel, learn about the rest of the world, then resolve not to make their daughters have the operation.

This is a general question to all the experts (Mike-q, Frank Africa, email, Word, others) on Africa. I would love to visit Africa later on this Winter, but the one thing that stops me is the concern over the possible health risks. I am not talking about HIV either because I use protection anyways. I am concerned about stuff like Malaria as well as other serious mosquito borne illnesses and things that can be deadly in a matter of few hours like Meningococcal meningitis. If I do go, I will certainly be up to date on all the recommended vaccines and I will definitely be taking prophylactic medicines for Malaria. I guess my question is the following: for a first time visitor, which country (excluding South Africa, Egypt and places like that) would you guys recommend will have the least amount of health risk and the best available medical care? Have any of you run into or picked up anything serious while you were in Africa and if so, how did you have to deal with it?
From my reading, it seems that Ghana or Malawi are always suggested as the first countries to visit. Namibia? Do you guys agree?
Thanks for the info.

I'm not a regular poster (or reader) on this board. In fact, the only reason I found it was because it was high up on the 'last 24 hours' page. I've never been to Africa, and probably won't ever end up there because I'm too afraid of the disease issues. SO, please forgive the intrusion.

But, I just had to comment on this... What's wrong with Thailand? HappyFace, I assume, based on your posting, that you're a monger. So, why would you not like a monger paradise like LOS? Have you ever been? I'm really curious, but won't be likely to see a response on this thread. You can e-mail me at purplengold123@yahoo.com

The Gambia is quite often described as as Africa for beginners.

No language problem, majority of people speak very good English and often several other European languages (German, French, etc)
There are few health risks, if you get the recommended course of vacinations (expensive first time, but most last 10 years and you should be covered for going almost anywhere else too)
Aids, is not as rampant in West Africa as in other areas (Kenya, etc), but always use protection.
Medical care for tourists is generally very good, as you can afford it (travel insurance a must) whereas most Gambians can't.
The worst I've had in 10 visits was an infected foot, my own fault for not covering a cut and letting flies at it.

Although you will get hustled, there are few major safety concerns. Tourist crime (muggings, etc) is almost unheard of, your far more likely to get mugged in Manchester or London than Gambia.

Gambian's generally encourage visitors to their country and their homes (unlike some places I've been) and any friends you make will really do their best to watch out for you.

So,

Where's the place to go in Gambia? The capital? Are there any cheap good hotels there?

How do the girls look like? I'm really in to the Carribean/Brazilian bodacious types.

Are there ATMs?

Happyfaces99

In reply to Lithium

Best off round the tourist strip, near the sea. Mainly package style hotels, but also quite a bit of cheaper guest houses - or hire a house.

There are a few ATM's at the main Bank, take visa for withdrawals. But hell it's cheap country, take enough with you.

The girls come in all shapes, sizes and skin tones. Some real stunners, tall leggy, busty (I take it that's your type) Believe you me you can pull any woman you want over there (Girls very rarely admit to having a boyfriend, cause they all want you) Some of the pros can be a bit business like and money grabbing, but the "amatuers", well they treat you real nice, attend to your every need and are happy with whatever you give them.

It's all very open (strange being a muslim country) around the resorts at least, no problem going out with a girl on your arm (even half your age), everyones quite chilled about it, I mean even the women tourists are openly flaunting their young local loverboys.

It sort, if you like black girls, give it a go, you won't be disapointed.

Just one tip, don't be shy, if you like the look of a girl go for it.

I had considered going to Gambia for my first trip to Africa. It's supposedly an English speaking and fairly safe country with plenty of action. However, various internet searches turned up a price of around 4000 dollars or more to get there(from the U.S.). The cheapest price was around 1600 to go to Lagos, but I am really not interested in going to that city.
Are these the sort of prices that you guys or your companies have been paying?

Are these the sort of prices that you guys or your companies have been paying? That $4,000 price is way too high. Here are three ways to get cheaper fares:

1) Fly from New York To Banjul, The Gambia via Ghana Airways, which is a safe airline. Fares are as low as $1,300 round trip.

2) Buy one ticket from New York to Brussels, Belgium, then a second ticket from Brussels to Banjul. You should see fares that total under $2,000

3) Fly from New York to Dakar, Senegal for around $900 round trip, then fly Senegal Airlines from Dakar to Banjul - less than $100 each way, or else travel overland.

Try the Travelocity web site, and Good luck!

Thanks a lot Frank for the useful information. I am gonna have to take your suggestions directly to a travel agent and see what he can do. Your first option would be the most attractive for me. I didn't have any luck finding cheap fares on-line. Thanks again for your reply and I'll let you know if things work out. J.G.

Your suggestions were right on. I think I can make the trip happen with Ghana airlines at the price that you mentioned.
Now, another question: for a first time visitor, would you have any reservations about recommending Gambia? The reports seems to suggest that there is plenty of action there. Would you agree with that? For my first trip, I am just looking to get a taste of the Africa without putting myself at too much risk.
Thanks for the info. J.G.

Hey J.G have you considered Ghana? If you are interested in an anglophone country Ghana gets good marks. Fairly safe, interesting things to see and do and a thriving sex market. Nigeria is also live but it is a rough place for the uninitiated (to traveling in Africa). Read all the previous post.
I have not been to the anglophone eastern African countires such as Kenya and Tanzania - lot of terroism concerns so you may been on your guard but there should be good deals and less pesky tourists to horn in on your action. Good luck!

Shout out to all the experts(Frank, Waywardson, Happyfaces, XXL, others):
I am going to Gambia in October. Thanks to Frank's tip, my entire trip will cost 1400$, and I will be flying non-stop on Ghana airlines from U.S. to Banjul.
I still have some questions though, and I would appreciate as many answers as your time will allow. Remember, I am a total rookie when it comes to Africa.
1) I can not help arriving there in Banjul around 2:30-3 AM, which is of course not the best time of day. Are there any hotels there with which I maybe able to communicate ahead of time and have some one waiting at the airport for me? Or should I just wait in the airport until sunlight?
2) Travel Insurance. Any companies that I should consider (or stay away from)? I have something on "Travelguard international" which I will read. I'll also check with my insurance agent.
3) I will be taking medication for malaria prevention, but how bad is the mosquito problem over there? If I am staying at a fairly nice hotel in Banjul, I won't be needing any nets and insect sprays for my room, right? (sorry, I have been reading too much from the CDC site).
4) How about the rains? I guess October may still be part of the rainy season. What kind of damper is that gonna put on my vacation?
5) How bad is the lack of internet there? Will I have any opportunity anywhere to use email and keep in touch with my loved ones a couple of times a week?
I am going, but I just want to be as prepared and as informed as possible. If you feel more comfortable emailing me privately, write to johangnorman@hotmail.com
Thank you.
P.S. To Waywardson: thanks for the suggestion about Ghana. If I can get a visa to visit Ghana while in Gambia, I may fly there for a couple of days, otherwise for my first trip I am just gonna stick to Gambia. If I enjoy Africa, my next trip will be to Ghana and Nigeria.

I'm glad to read that my advice helped you get a reasonable fare to fly to The Gambia.

I've read over your post and will write a longer reply next week about hotels, etc. But a few comments now:

- check with your local doctor or travel clinic for info/medicine on malaria, and take it very seriously. The last thing you want to do is be sick on your vacation. Even though you'll probably be staying in a decent hotels with screens on the windows, etc., there are still mosquitos everywhere. Bring some insect repellent with DEET in it.

- you should find easy Internet access in all of the tourist areas - lots of Internet cafes at reasonable rates. When I was there in 2000 the Internet cafes charged you in 15-minute increments, at a very reasonable price.

- most hotels would not send a car to the airport to pick you up, but getting a taxi when you arrive should not be a problem. Shouldn't cost you more than $10 U.S. to take a cab from the airport to the tourist areas such as Fajara. Yes, it is a good idea to have a hotel reservation ahead of time - if you don't like the hotel, you can always change after a day or two.

- Travel insurance is always a good idea to protect you against flight delays/cancellations/lost luggage, etc.

- I'll have a post about hotels next week.

- finally, bring lots of condoms with you from the U.S., both lubricated and unlubricated. While the locally-available condoms are probably ok, for my own peace of mind I always travel with a box of fresh Trojans. And while I'm sure you already know this, let me repeat - DO NOT EVER have unprotected sex with any female in The Gambia, no matter what!

Hi there folks!

I’m following your excellent reports for a while and decided to visit Gambia coming December and January. I would be very pleased if some Gambia-travellers could answer my questions.

As a single traveller it is not very comfortable staying in a hotel crowded by European families or couples. Many of you have certainly experienced that in this case the tourists will always look very critical at the single traveller bringing a girl to the hotel (every night?). Which hotel – close to the action and not a family hotel – would you recommend? If possible beneath 25$.

Could you recommend a hotel which allows visitors? In reports on another site I read that most hotels will not allow visitors, unless you spend a ridiculous amount of money on a fee from sometimes 250, sometimes up to 600 dalasis.

Where is the action? What is the best location to get a hotel? I read something about Serekunda and about the coast resorts of Bakau, Fajara, Kotu and Kololi.

I would be greatful if Frank or another Gambia-traveller could react to my questions in the previous post.

In other reports some bars/clubs were recommended, such as:
- Jokor Nightclub at West-Field (Serekunda)
- Sir Williams Kotu Beach
- Spy Bar
- Wheels Bar and Restaurant
- Waaw Disco (nightclub)

Other tips for action:
- a lot of easy going girls in the area around Novo/BB-hotel;
- the night club at Novo hotel is (used?) to be good;
- for street action there are a lot of girls along the Kotu Road from 7PM to 11PM;
- also the hotels and night clubs in Kololi area have many nice girls.

Hello everybody,

Unfortunately I can´t (yet) add any new reports to this forum. However I'm planning on going to The Gambia in January and will be posting information afterwards.

Here are my questions, I would like to hear from travellers more experienced than myself:

- I dig sexy "westernized" black girls, does this look exist in Gambia, or is it a country where all the ladies dress in traditional african clothing ?

- Is it true that it's THAT easy to have sex with non-pros and how open is the hotel staff about these activities ( chamber maids, waitresses etc. )?

- Is a single male (and his HUGE sex-drive ha, ha) accepted at a the touristy Hotels? Comments on Senegambia Beach, Atlantic Corinthean, African Village appreciated.

- Would you recommend renting an appartment to take the ladies to, or is it unnecessary to "hide" your actions from the hotel?

- Does anybody have a picture of a typical Gambian girl (pro or non-pro) to post? What about a link for useful information? What exactly do the girls there look like, for god´s sake?

Whew, a lot of questions, but I willcertainly share my view with you after returning from this country.

Thanks,

Booty

Speaking of booty, is anal sex available in The Gambia?

READ MY POST IN THE ARCHIVES FOR the story on this girl. She was GGGGGREAT. She was so loving and attentive, I thought she wanted to be my girlfriend instead of just night company. Her cousin was pimpin her out at the resort I was in. She was only $25 for the night, but I had to pay the three guards $5 each to let het through the three gates, and her cousin $10. I also tipped her $10 or $15. It happened last years on my visit.

Nice work on those pictures !

Looks like we have similar tastes in women. If you´ve ever been to Ghana I would like to read about your impressions.

HEY BooTy DuTy,

.... Thanks for the Thumbs Up on the pix.

I may be back to Africa once we start beaming up folks like in Star Trek, because the plane ride is just "TOO LONG", UNLESS I can find direct flights without 5-12 hour layovers. Eight hours of total flying is enough for me. And I even like flying.

Since your taste in women if akind to my own, then I now know,
"YOU HAVE GREAT TASTE .... EXCELLENT TASTE." !!!!

ALSO, this young lady was as soft as you would even feel in a woman, and she just wanted me to sit back and relax. As we fell off to sleep, she would sleep right up under me, and if she needed to use the bathroom, she would wake me up to tell me, which I found usual, but nice. This way she is not accused of stealing, and is not banned from the resort. You know they had to sneak her in after midnight.

Travel report from Gambia.

I was in Gambia in dec-03 , and here is my experience.

At first, the local boys are a big problem hassleing you where ever you go. This is definitely one of the worst places I have been to when it comes to this, and
I have been to more then 30 countries).

About the girls, there were mainly two areas where we found the most hookers. Around the streetcafe`s at Senegambia Strip just outside Senegambia Hotel in Kololi, and
the Affra club/seven seven in the Fajara area. Normaly the girls start showing up from around 9pm, but most will be there first at 11pm. The number of girls are maby around 30 depends on the eaening, and some of them is really good looking. For a fuck they will start asking 1000 Dalasy (1 us = 30 D: dec –03) but we got them for 400-500 D. If you stay in one of the bigger hotels expect to pay the night watchman.

At our hotel they wanted ridiculous 500 D (almoast a months wages). In daytime it will be hard to get them inside. You can always bring them to a small guest house with rooms mainly for fucking. We paid 150/night but it was definitely no suite( very basic). You can find better ones also for 300 D and up.

In bed the girls were really not that good. I had several and had struggle with most of them in one way or another (like no sucking, no kissing, more money and so on.)

Trying to avoid the Muslim girls will save you some hassle. They will probably refuse to suck your dick and most of them has got their clitoris removed. (believe me I saw it. And as one Muslim woman told me,”- the mouth is for eating food and nothing else”)
Gambian girls are Muslims but there are girls from many other afrikan countries too, so if your looking for full service its not so hard to get anyway, but you will be limited. And many of the ladys don't suck dick without condom.

I really hope Afrika has something better to offer than this, otherwise the continent will be a big disappointment for those who want quality sex with full service. If anyone know were to go please write a note here.

I will be back next time, but not from Gambia.

Thanks for now.

I just returned from a five week business trip to Gambia. I agree with some of connander's observations and also disagree with some.
Didn't really have a lot of time to hobby. I was with 5 different girls. 2 for multiple times with some of the best sex that I have ever had and I've been all over the world! 3 of the 5 girls were not only circumcised but their whole clit was completely gone! They acted like it was completely normal and said they were still able to have an organism-who knows. 3 of them sucked without asking. 2 were muslim. Easy way to tell if they are muslim or christian is by there name. Christians will have names like Mary, Francine, Jane or something like that. Muslims will have names like Fatou, Isatou or Binta. I also found that about 20% of the working girls in Gambia are from Gambia. Most are from Liberia, Sierra Leone or other war torn countries. If the Gambian girls find it nessary to "hook" they will go to Senegal. Gambia is so small that everybody knows everybody. I found Gambia to be a great country and didn't feel uncomfortable going out at night by myself and I'm white. I plan to return soon.
One last point- the Calabus (not sure of the spelling)night club is fantastic! Some really first class girls. Some working and some not. It is only open on Fri. and Sat. nights with action starting around 11.

Peterman

Adding to my last report-

While there in NOV/DEC I drove by The Wheel and noticed it was down for renovation.
WAAW (pronounced WoW) was closed. Some speculation by the employees that it would be shut down for a month or even forever. Don't mean to scare anyone off but the fact is there was a fight that started inside the club between a couple of drug dealers that ended outside in a stabing. 1st in Gambia in several years. If I was there I would go to this club the first night it reopened. I think it was a one time thing. Never saw any fights the whole time I was there.
The Joker is good, but doesn't start until late. Friday and Saturday are the best.
I did not experience it until the last couple of weekends that I was there, but Calabus (not sure of the spelling) is great! Higher class of girls show up here. It is only open on Friday and Saturday nights.
Tropacana (previously called Spy Bar) is good on Friday and Saturday nights. Starts late. Week days it is dead.

One thing I noticed about Gambia, everybody seems to be available. I understand the unemployment rate is approx. 85%. The ones that are employed earn about 30 US dollars per month. All you need to do is approach them and talk to them. When I was there I attended a fashion show at one of the hotels. I ended up "hooking-up" with a couple of the models because I talked with them a bit after the show.
I even found that in the hotels that the maids and waitresses are even avilable. You just need to chat-them-up.
Great country! With 4 inches of snow on the ground outside right now and it still falling I can't wait to get back to the warm weather and even warmer girls of Gambia.

I am new to writing in this forum but have injoyed reading it in the past.

I travel to Gambia alot and frequent the Jokov club {pronounced Joko} situated in serrekunda. This is a late night place and has very decent looking female company. The choice is ten girls to every one man on ladies night. I cannot comment if they are pros or not but they do give you the eye and very willing to chat and more.

The Calabash is another club in the Palma Rima area. here over 90 percent of the girls are pros. The ratio is normally twenty girls to every man on ladies night. The Waaw or Wow club in Senegambia road is just a disco up stairs and open seating plan facing the street occupied by hookers only.

Remember Gambian society does not have the same stigma to hookers as you and I know of. They regard their profession much more of a normality and will not understand why you are not open about your intents or requirment.

Due to the high levels of poverty there, many very nice girls will make themselve avliable to you and expect sex to be the end product. These are not hookers but will expect a good time, meals, money outing in return. The cost to you will be peanuts.
White english girls who holiday in Gambia are pestered by street boys also known as bumsters. The reason is that English girls are known to pick up street boys for sex. The street boy gets sex as well as money in return. You will notice this on a large scale in Gambia. Gambian girls do not touch these boys as they consider them dirty.

On the same note the non hooking gambian girl has but her body to offer for similar return. She is not a hooker and will treat you with alot of respect. Her conversation will be non financial in tone and she will not have sex with you without a condom.
you will notice the obvious hookers a mile away.

My suggention is not to book an inclusive tour in Gambia but to get a flight and check in to a hotel. Its cheaper.

In Banjul you might get a place like the Carlton Hotel for 800 Dalas {£15} per night. Banjul has nothing to offer so a hotel outside the city like the Badala park hotel at 1000 dalas {£19} per night will be more economical as travelling to and from Banjul will cost you more. Remember all the the places you want to be are outside Banjul. Then again Hotels in Banjul other than The Atlantic hotel are rubbish compared to the Badala park or others you will find in Palma Rime, Serrekunda and kololi area.

For men looking for action, carry your own condoms, and a good piece of action can be had for £10. {500 Dalas}

To give you an idea of the local spending power, a share taxi costs 4 Dalas {8Pence}. A policeman earns 1500 Dalas {£30} per month.

You are a rich man there, treat them with respect and be generous to their standard. They are a very friendly lot and will treat you well.

Airline Pilot,

Thanks for the information I was going to go to Ghana but I might visit Gambia instead. What about girl friendly hotels do you know any?

Frank Africa
03-30-04, 16:18
Dear Jem Hadar:

I have been in The Gambia 3 times during the last ten years, each time for a stay of 2 weeks or more, and have enjoyed all 3 visits thoroughly. Virtually every hotel that I've ever stayed in or visited is girl-friendly. The only exception might be the Kairaba Hotel (the nice hotel next to the Senegambia) but even there you should be ok (the girl might have to leave her ID at reception, however, which is for your protection).

Airline Pilot's comments are correct and similar to what I've posted elsewhere. Many of the girls that you'll find are not hookers, just girls looking for some companionship and who will hope to be with you more than once and be your girlfriend. But after enjoying a great night together with at least two "pops," also remember that they will expect some sort of a cash gift in the morning, not cash for sex, but cash for "a taxi" or "to buy lunch" or "buy a new pair of shoes."

It's probably not worth it to stay in Banjul itself, as most of the hotels (other than the Atlantic Beach) are dumps, plus you can't really swim there. Stay at one of the beach hotels south of town in Kololi (Kairaba, Senegambia) or Kotu (Bungalow Beach, Kombo Beach, Badala Park) or Bakau (Sunwing, Cape Point, African Village, Atlantic Guest House) and at least you can go swimming during the day.

Staying outside of town is not a big deal, as it is not expensive to go into Banjul for the day to go shopping, etc. In the evenings, you could also take a cab into Banjul, but most of the nightlife is outside of downtown Banjul anyway, so I doubt if you'll be there much. Also, if you're at one of the beach hotels, you can easily join one of the day trips for tourists to places such as Abuko nature Reserve (underrated), see the wood carvers at Brikama, go south to the beach and crocodile pool at Kartong, or take the Roots tour to Juffure, Kunta Kinte's village (overrated but interesting if you've never seen much of the African countryside).

Although this is obvious, it is also worth repeating - Always use a condom! Bring a couple of dozen of your own with you.

Also, be careful with your cash/valuables - although the non-hookers may not try to rip you off, many of the regular hookers may try to pick-pocket you (it's happened to me). Many hotels have safe deposit boxes - use them!

Fellow mongers.

Just back from the Gambia, had the greatest time.

Gambia is a safe place nowadays, where you can go out safely.
Most of the people go out as from 09pm. Just go to the street that leads to the Kairaba Hotel, have a beer on one of the terraces and enjoy the view.

When I was there, it was low season (april-sept) and this means low on tourists. So you can imagine there were enough nice ones to choose from.

On the first night I had a great kinky time with a huge breasted girl. She took me to her home (safe, no electricity, but no problem) and boy she was good. ended up doing some bondage on het huge tits and some spanking, wich she enjoyed and begged for more...

The second night I was looking for another one and soon I saw a nice girl from Sierra Leone. She was hot, boy oh boy!

Then the next day , I had a massage in the hotel and the lady who gave me massage asked me to take off my undies, she then gave me BBBJ that was cool.

In the evening I went to WOW, wich is a nice place to pick up girls. Picked up the hottest chick on earth and f***d her in all the holes and she wanted more every time. Stayed with her for two days.

Its kinda difficult to bring girls in the hotels and thats a pitty, you have to "buy" them in. but they all have house or apps where they can take you and have a blasting time.

My experience with muslim Gambian girls is that they dont like to suck, so ask before you go, they are allstraight forward.

I am def. going back ASAP, as this is by far the best place to screw black girls. Once again its safe, nice girls, good fun, very cheap.

Regarding costs, you can have a bear for 80usd cents and a screw for 12 usd - 25usd. But girls treat you nice, and they want you as their boyfriend. Watch out with giving adresses!

Take care

Hi,

This is just a suggestion, so please don't take it the wrong way.

I appreciate the details in your report, but I know from experience that a lot of people find it easier to read a report if the paragraphs are separated by a single blank line.

I know how this happens: You're banging away at the keyboard, putting your thoughts into the report as fast as you can write them. However, if you could hit the return key TWICE at the end of each paragraph, your report would be much easier to read, which would certainly be appreciated by your fellow Forum Members.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi Tom,

What hotel did you stay at?

When you were able to get a girl into your room did you have to bribe the security guard or did you have to pay at the front desk?
Gambia is GREAT, is't it? It is a well kept secret! I felt very comfortable walking the streets after dark.

I intend to spend a lot of time in Gambia in the future. We will have to hook-up. I hope you saved contact info.

I don't think there is any hard-and-fast rule on the Gambian muslims not "smoking the pole". I got together with one of the waitresses that worked in the hotel where I was staying and she swallowed the "one-eyed-snake" without me asking. Then again, that was the only time out of the 4 or 5 times we were together. I don't think they are to much into anal. Out of the 4 or 5 I did while there, I never got an offer for it.

I'm visiting Gambia in December last time I was there many of the hotels were charging extra for bringiing women back to your room. I wasn't very happy about this, could any of you guys help me out with advice on a hotel were I can take a nice women to give her a good rodding. And not have to pay extra to get her into my room thanks in advance for the advice.

Hey Jem,

I'm sure there are lots of hotels where there is not a problem to bring a girl back to your room. I'll let others respond to that.
What worked good for me was to befriend the security guards. Each time that I walked by them I would stop for a few minutes and chat. I would do this over several days. I would even give them small gifts that I would bring from the states. Then, I would find out who would be working the night shift when I expected to return with with a girl. I would ask them if there would be a problem bringing my girl friend back later on. This always worked well.
Just thought of something-there was a hotel that I used several times when I couldn't chance my associates seeing the girl leave my room the next morning. I don't remember the name. It is on the road going to the airport. On the left side, past the turn-off (right side) for the Bjelo(spelling) Beach Hotel. It is two stories high and close to the hi-way. Seems like it was $5-10. The taxi driver that I used knew of it.
I hope this helps.
You going for business or vacation?

Peterman "Business in Gambia" no way mate I go there purely to rest and recharge the batteries I'm usually on a tight budget. I just don't like the idea of paying extra for bringing a beauty back to my room, sometimes the staff can be quite insistent on payment first. Peterman I wouldn't mind picking up a regular bang from some village any suggestions? Thanks for the reply I'll have to find more info on the hotel you mentioned.

Hey Jem,

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I've been busy putting the "business" together.
Business in Gambia is not the REAL reason that I go to Gambia. I go there for the same reason that you go there. It's just that the "business" gets me to Gambia and pays for the hotel and meals.
Never been much outside of Banjul. Don't know what a "village" would be like.
I'm heading back over in about 10 days and I should be there for some time, so if you are passing through give a PM and we will go on a "hunting" trip.

Peterman,

Are you in The Gambia now?

I am coming on the 19th, will you still be there?

Maybe we can have a drink together.

Girlfriendly hotels : they all are, as long if you tip the security guys.

Another advantage during daytime you can have a guest, that is no problem. The girls get a GUEST badge and thats it.

Its nice in between meetings to have a nice A.F. (afternoon f**k)

Hi all,

I'm going to Gambia for my first African trip in Feb. There's a load of really useful posts here, but I did have a few queries and would appreciate your help.

I'm staying in Bakau (Sunbeach Hotel). Should I expect to find any action in or around the hotel? Presumably I'll have to bribe the security guards if I do?

Also, anyone know how safe and easy it is to travel to Banjul, if that's where the main action is?

With the non or semi pros, are you expected to pay them direct, or is it offering money for shopping etc?

Lots of questions, many thanks in advance!

David

Tom3108
01-06-05, 18:58
Hi David,

I can say that I am a regular. Sunbeach is not a girl friendly hotel, lots of children there. Maybe at night you can bring someone and bribe the security, I dont know. But do know that this guy you bribe is risking his job

Better go to the girl's place. Its safe, no worries.

Never walk in the streets, its too hot anyway, take a cab, they are cheap, they stink, but give you a cheap ride.

In the evenings ask for Kairaba street, its like a street that leads to the main hotel, filled with nice places . You sit down on a terrace, have a drink and just watch what is happening.

As from 8:oo pm you can expect action.

Dont pay them as like they would be hookers. Its like you give them something. 15 usd for FS is OK, but then again, you might want to give more.

Never give your home adress as they might use it for visa purposes.

If you like the girl stay with her and pay her at the end of your vacation.

If you want to feel safe, go to TAFBEL hotel for a couple of hours, its cheap, clean and you get an airco in the room.

I am going back in april, and looking forward to that hunting trip.

Happy hunting,

Tom3108

The Cotton Club nightclub is easy to find, any taxi can take you there. There are some other night clubs near by as well where you can find girls.

But you don't need to go to the nightclubs, girls are easy to find almost anywhere around the tourist areas, especially in the restaurants/cafes just outside the Senegambia and Kairaba hotels.

Tom3108
04-11-05, 13:16
Hello,

As Frank says no need to go to Cotton club, or any club

If you staying at the Tafbel, just go around the corner, that is the street that leads to Kairaba, plenty of action there. But remember it starts late - that is as from 11pm.

Just returned from a 7 night hunting trip, all the girls I picked up at the WOW disco; that is a great place with cheap drinks and lots of nice girls.

The problem I had was that there were too many nice ones to pick from.

After 7 nights they knew me and it was time to leave as they were starting to get jealous.

Gambia girls all say the same thing: I dont want a one night stand, I want to be your girlfriend.

Girls from Sierra Leone are economic fugitives and are in for a lot of fun.

I picked up two that lived in the same house, that was great.
Went with the first one and then switched rooms...

TIP: if you want cheap without tabou, go to the Gambia!

I never got any complaints from any girl when I wanted to do this or that even anal was not a problem. I never paid more then 800 dalassi, wich is like 27usd.

Many charterflights are now available out of Amsterdam;
If you are travelling from the us, buy a ticket to Amsterdam, spent a night there and then travel the next day from Amsterdam; I paid 399 euro (travelworld.be) for a week, including 5* accommodation and the flight !

Happy hunting

Just ask a cab to take you, or ask for African Queen resturant in Kololi which is a couple of bars down. Better to stay at Tafbel which is a 5 minute walk away.

Hi Tom. Hi Everybody.

Oumie, oumie... no, I don't know her. Yet. But I'll ask for her, for a chat. Any special messages to deliver, Tom? :) I'll be there May 9th, for six weeks. What country is she from? Gambia or any of the (ex-) civil war countries like Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea Conakry?

A lot of girls in the Gambian scene come from those places. Good for the family back home, they send money. We've all got to make ends meet somehow, right? And they seem happy enough, some sadness showing only when they talk about their countries' fate and their families' circumstances (if they still have them, many lost at least one of their parents in the sad civil wars).

But here they have a good chance to make a life, and they are managing. I'm game, I spread my money here, and I never got any reason to complain. Ohhh no... if Africa didn't exist, it should be invented. Though we never could, with all our brain power and management talent. We should be glad it's still there, the world would be a so much poorer place without sweet Africa. And I just love African women, their natural femininity. Sometimes so sweet, sometimes exuberant emotions, but always true. So refreshing. A man is a man, a woman is a woman. Period.

GFE? Did I hear anybody mention girlfriend experience? :) Treat her like a human being, and she'll treat you like a king. The man takes care of the woman, the woman takes care of the man. It's like that. Be the man, be the provider, be strong & the centre of things (even when she starts shouting right in your ear :) , it will pass in fifteen minutes, it's like a storm, clearing the air, a natural fenomenon, don't worry, be the quiet centre of the storm, you'll just have to show her that you still have everything under control, that's what she wants to see) and she'll be the woman, surround you with care, she'll surely take her role in your life together. There's no more to it than that. It might turn out to be a best experience you ever had with a woman. If you give it a chance. It's all so very natural. There, in Africa, it still is.

Africans are so courageous, dealing with all this, war, sickness, poverty and still smiling a LOT more then we, the people in the west. The people on the street radiate happines most of the time. How come I don't see that in my rich country? It's crazy but true. That's why Africa always draws me back!

And, what I just mentioned (in my previous post) about a life together with an African lady is still valid even if you're only there for one week. However long or short, everything is possible of course. But my recommendation for a good experience in Africa is to choose one lady you feel you have a connection with, and take at least one week together. That way you'll get a chance to dig deeper into african culture, to learn and experience more. The colonials, with old-fashioned humor, used to call this a walking dictionary. Oh well. But it's much more than that of course. For me it was the experience of a life time, the opening of doors I didn't know still existed on earth. So deeply satisfying for a man. Just arrange things, for both of you. Be clear and honest about the arrangement. And it will work.

The thing "we" have to learn about Africa, is that if we're honest about our intentions, everything is possible. Absolutely no need to lie or be tricky about anything. It's all there, it's all possible.

One thing is necesary to mention though, for people who might be visiting Afirca for the first time. Unfortunately there is a small percentage of people who can and will lie to you. A small percentage, but noticable, because of the special situation a visitor is in, asking questions on the street, etc. (better ask a shopkeeper!). More than in European countries or in North America, the responsability to use your human insight is entirely your own. That is something of a paradox, because my overall sentiment is that Africa is sweet. But it may be felt that if you're naive enough to fall for lies of dishonest people, it's your own fault. So yes, it is necesary to be somewhat on your guard in Africa, otherwise it might turn into a costly learning school. If you get around enough, you will surely be tested. And if you have any weaknesses and stay long enough, they will surely be found and exploited... I'm sorry to have to say that. Along with the sweetness there are also a lot of tricks people may play on you. Unfortunately perhaps, but it's part of the game. But not with all people. Some. But they are certainly there. Use of your common sense and human knowledge is more important then ever.

But still, If you're a fair and honest man, just BE fair and honest, just explain what it is you want, and it will come to you. If the person you're with cannot accomodate your "soul's desire", she or her friend will find somebody who can, everybody is connected in Africa, there's a whole network. If you connect with the right people, and you're open and friendly, they will be too... That's Africa for you! A long story, but it's a testimony of my love for this extraordinary and rewarding continent. It's worth it!

Beach places: Kololi: Don't stay at Kairaba 5 star even if they charge just now 60 E a single and 100 E a double. Its run like a prison. Reverted to chatting up the girls working there at the pool bar, but it is a long haul as they look for a boyfriend who will be there at least a week to go out with them etc AND the hotel management fires them if they are caught going to a room with clients... so its tough but it did work for me after 5 days of flirting. The Senegambia Hotel next door is 4 star, same price range, less restirct for U to take girls in, no problem there. They themselves have some hassle to get in alone but in the end they manage. Its a bit upper market. Much easier is TafBel hotel, just behind Kairaba, a bit less than 40 E a double... but its pretty basic, a shower, a bed and an AC, rooms are small as the studios are under refurbishment. However, the night lfe just now is great, no hoardes of tourists, lots of drinking places and the WOW disco, Spy bar and many others are great. All within 5 minutes walking from the hotels I mentioned. If u want a LOT more choice in terms of bars, clubs discos etc, lodge close to Serekunda, the biggest town and economic center of the Gambia. No beach there but lots of fun and diversity at night. Its only 15 minute drive to the nice beaches.

Palm beach Hotel: NOT girlfriendly, they ask 1000 or 1500 dalasi for the girl even in daytime. Non negotiable. Reason given: to many problems, reports of robberies by the girls. Maybe it's true, maybe not. Maybe they just like receiving the money, otherwise there's nothing in it for them, you know: Africa :).

Tafbel. Nice place, very friendly staff, half girlfriendly, daytime 11h (morning) till midnight free, after midnight 1500 dalasi for the girl unless you book a double room. Reception people are open for negotiation for the room prices, especially now in off season, easily way below 1000 dalasi per night (I promised not to mention what I paid).

Mannjai lodge. Atmosphere inbetween the above (tourist)hotels and a local hotel. 500 Dalasi per night single, 750 for a double room, which off course covers and cancels all further questions about girls (they didn't look strange at me, but then again I'm not hardcore like in having a different girl every night). Otherwise, if you book a single room, it's 250 per night extra for the girl (fair enough, it's the diff between single and double room), which makes it the most girlfriendly tourist hotel I know and the only place where I had a girl sleeping with me nighttime.

Kenaba: more local style, 250 per night (current off season price, otherwise 300) with or without girl, or 150 per two hours, no questions asked. The vulture girls know the place. Round african style houses. Locks, security, cleanlyness not up to the standards of the hotels mentioned above. Much used for ... oh well. Keep your valuables and good name in one of the tourist hotels, and use this for recreation:) unless you're the hardcore backpacker type. Walking distance from Senegambia area, or 30-50 dalasi for the taxi if you're with a girl (remember: the high heels :).

Current rates: 1 euro= 33 dalasi, 1 dollar 27 dalasi, 1 pond =50 dalasi.

Just wanted to support what Afro Traveller said. The Kairaba is the nicest hotel in the area but is not particularly girl-friendly. On the other hand, I had no problem at all bringing in girls from the outside to the Senegambia for the night, both girls who I had met outside and girls who I met at the Senegambia disco (but who were not Senegambia employees).

Afro Traveller is also right - in most tourist-quality hotels anywhere in The Gambia, indeed in Africa, a female employee will be fired if they are caught going to a room with a client, so if a young lady at the hotel where you're staying strikes your fancy, you should plan on taking her to a different hotel for sex, or else move yourself to a different hotel.

I learned this the hard way several years ago - I was staying at the Senegambia, and one of the "animators," a gorgeous 19 year old with big tits who had never had a child, came to my room for an afternoon quickie. Someone saw her and she was fired on the spot, even though she wasn't on duty at the time of the quickie. I never saw her again - too bad, as those tits were quite memorable :)

I stayed at Seabreeze Apartments about 18 months ago. 10/15 mins (or short taxi ride) walk out of Senegambia on Kololi road. Views out over plam trees to ocean. Large roof terrace. Big living room + kitchenette and bathroom. £75 for the week.

I had no problem taking girls in. Nightwatchman would go to shops for my supplies and offered to find girls if I wanted.

Couple who owned it were thinking of selling on and website is now down. Have email address if you PM me.

Excersizer,

You don't need an appartment, if that's what you mean. This is African culture, everything is very natural, no shame involved. Because of the high prices the hotel reception asked I sometimes went with the girl to her appartment. She'll tell the taxidriver where it is. You could make a deal with the taxidriver to pick you up again, as he knows the place now, in one hour, or next morning, as you please. Taxifare will normally be between 50 and one hundred dalasi one way, night time is a bit higher then daytime tariffs off course.

Negotiation skills are not very much needed. The sentiment in Wow (the disco in senegambia area) is this: 1000 dalasi makes the girl very happy, 500 is the minimum, below that is possible but you might feel like you're taking advantage of the girl, her situation, the poverty, etc. Some model-like types get 1500.

Strait forward approach (if she hasn't grabbed you first :) ) works fine. I mean, like: "Hi, I like you."; not like "Hi, how much?". It pays to be polite and respectfull in this culture, you'll notice people will say "sorry" if they see you hit your toe against a chair, for instance. But here politeness doesn't mean you have to be vague about anything. Africans are stars in reading people. Acting and talking in line with what you feel and want is best.

From what I've read sofar, I think I would feel most compfortable in an apartments. Tips and suggestions are still welcome.

Wow disco, upstairs in the senegambia area, is probably the place for you, or downstairs, the terrace of Jazz cafe, same management. Any taxidriver will take you there, if you're not allready staying in the senegambia area, for instance in mentioned Tafbell.

Appartments are less safe, as there is no security. I stayed in an appartment with no security and was robbed of my suitcase while I was not there. They broke the door and trashed the place. Sorry, I'd recommend a hotel as main residence. Still, in my big European city, the same thing happened to me, and 99% of the Gambian people are really very nice.

Anyway, go to kenaba for two hours, or to her appartment if you want to keep a good reputation in the hotel, though you wouldn't be looked down on in any way by the staff unless maybe if you have a different girl every night. I was actually very popular with the hotel people for having a nice gambian girlfriend, registering everyday at the reception, me signing for her, she chatting with them, nice. I was lucky now to find someone I really like, and she was good to me. "You lucky guy" they used to say.

Anyway, no negotiation is really required in Wow or Jazz cafe. Jazz cafe night time, that is. Daytime, different people are there, you might end up accidentally insulting someone. Night time, chances of insulting someone there are 0.001 % ;) . Buying her a drink, 20 dalasis, is allways appreciated and makes the first, well understood, connection. Really, the're all waiting for that toubab on a white horse who just comes to them and offers them a drink. Wow girls' heaven that is :). Then, after some minutes of conversation to get acquainted, if you say "let's go" you'll be underway with her in two seconds flat. BUT still it's better to agree on a price beforehand. Maybe making an agreement privately in the taxi underway to the place will work for you.

It's the same as with taxidrivers, they'll just say "lets go" and ask high prices afterwards. Girls can be very honest sometimes, but there are some troublemakes there, I know ;) . If they say "how can I ask you a price" they are either very sweet and modest, or cunning and planning to make trouble afterwards, there is no way of telling really. So it's better to insist on clarity.

Girls who refuse payment in money are good girls but definately hoping for visa and marriage. Don't let them live in these false dreams unless you really intend to do this. Even if they insist, for many times they'll keep trying to push you in this role, and you might feel awkward afterwards, trying to get out of this situation. And then the accusations come.

OK Excersizer,

Can you take more tips ;)?

1) One time I was walking with a girl, and a big jambe player stopt playing, looked at me, and said in a dark brown voice "You sleep, you keep one eye closed, one eye open". I never knew if he talked about this girl specific, or in general, about sleeping at a girls place. But since then I do keep my trouser with my wallet at my side of the bed on the ground when I sleep out. I try to do that in an inconspicuous way, so as not to insult the girl and spoil the atmosphere. Never had any problems though.

2) Take an unlocked mobile (&charger) with you. First day tell a taxidriver to take you to the Africell office (it's in Fajara) and wait for you, fare should be about 100- 125 Dalasi from the Senegambia area. Buy a simcard for 250 Dalasi= 7 Euro; 35 Dalasi credit is included. Prepaid credit cards go for 45, 90, 240 Dalasi.

3) At the end of your stay, leave the mobile for the girl who was the sweetest to you.

The following comments about security are taken from a recent post I made on the Kenya board of ISG (along with some useful comments from a fellow poster named Auaind - thanks!), and it applies not only in Kenya, but also in The Gambia and almost anywhere on the road these days.

Before going out, I always lock up my passport, air ticket, most of my cash and all of my credit cards in the hotel room safe (most hotels have them). Then I walk around town with only a small amount of cash, plus my US driver's license as an ID. That way, if I get robbed, I will only lose the small amount of cash on me, and if my entire wallet gets stolen, I lose an ID which is not that important when I'm traveling (compared to a passport) and which can easily be replaced when I return home. Even if I'm totally cleaned out, I can always take a cab back to the hotel and go upstairs to the room safe to get cash to pay the cab driver.

This technique also makes it easier to negotiate with a girl - I'm not a very good liar, so it's easier to be able to show my wallet and say "look, this is all I have." And most girls in a third-world country who start out by demanding $100 will usually drop their price down to what I'm offering and have in my wallet, especially if the alternative is no cash at all.

Another idea - I usually carry an old cancelled passport in my baggage somewhere. That way, in the slim chance that I do have my passport stolen, I have the older passport to prove that I'm a US citizen and which will make it easier for the nearest US embassy to issue me a new passport.

My fellow poster Auaind makes the following useful points:
1) Put your wallet in the front pocket of your jeans, not the back- makes it harder to steal!

2) As for hotels, try and keep to the more decent looking places - forking out an extra $20 probably brings you a safer environment, and you avoid the stinky pillows, sheets, mattresses, etc.

3) Rolexes, expensive mobile phones, Mont-Blanc pens etc. stay home (or in the hotel safe).

4) There's been cases of tourists being forced to withdraw cash at ATMs by unscrupulous women and their pimps so better not risk it - another good reason to not carry any credit cards or ATM cards with you when you're out on the town.

*************************

Finally, someone else here on ISG made this recommendation - before you leave the US (or wherever you're from), leave $100 with a trusted buddy. That way, in a true emergency, when someone has stolen everything from you, you can call your buddy and have him send you the cash by Western Union. Even if your passport has been stolen, you can get the old expired passport that you stashed with your dirty underwear, and use that as an ID to collect the money.

Guys,

Thanks a lot for all the useful info you already have posted at this forum.

I am planning to go to Gambia for 2 weeks in october and apart from all the questions already posted concerning accomodation, I wonder if somebody has stayed at the Badala Park Hotel or Hotel Kombo beach.

Or has anyone some other accomodation suggestions? I would like to combine my holiday with some beach life, sport activities and ofcourse find a nice girl to spend my holiday with.

Besides that is somebody going to Gambia in the beginning of October? and looking for somebody to go out with?

Thanks,

Badala Park is a dump. Try Palm Beach. Its the same management. Much better and on the beach.

You can get good deals on the web.

The Hotel Kombo Beach is right on the water and has an excellent beach. It's part of the Novotel chain of hotels and is a busy place, with lots of activities and one of the better nightclub/discos.

The Badala Park Hotel is newer but a little rougher than the Kombo Beach. You have to cross the road to get to the beach, no big deal. Last time I was at this hotel, the Tam Tam nightclub was nearby (not sure if it's still open).

You'll be ok at either place and have no problems finding women. Another possible nearby option is the Bungalow Beach Hotel.

My only other hotel advice is to stay away from the Senegambia hotel, which was nice 15 years ago but has become run-down, yet still charges higher prices than most other hotels.

I was in The Gambia in December 2004 and stayed at the Kairaba - expensive but great hotel. Stopped by the Senegambia, which is next door to the Kairaba, and it looked to be just as worn-down as my previous visits of the last few years. So if they spent a lot of money, the results aren't very visible.

Yes, the location is good, but IMHO, one can do better than the Senegambia for the same room rate or less.

Someone sent me a PM asking about taxis and hotels in The Gambia. Thought it useful to post my reply here:

The ride from the airport to the hotels in the Kololi/Kotu/Fajara region should take no more than 20 minutes, and shouldn't cost more than US $10 in local currency. There's a fairly new back road that circles around downtown Serrekunda and the horrible traffic there.

Difficult to quote hotel rates because it depends on what month of the year you'll be there. The Gambia is probably the only country in black Africa that has "high season" and "low season" rates. High season starts in mid-November and goes through the winter - that's when the tourists fly in from Europe.

Even so, you shouldn't have to pay more than $100 for a room, except at the most expensive resorts. Check the Internet for the best rates.

******************

Tom3108 is right, the Palm Beach Hotel is better than the Badala Park.

Final thought - if you arrive in The Gambia and decide that you don't like your hotel, then don't be afraid to move to another one.

Hi guys

Everywhere,,

Unfortunately this is not the Oumie I know. I have had an experience last time I was over there with an Mariama (or something like this) but also like Oumie, this is not the one. I guess a lot of girls have the same names over there, its a bit like over here in Europe where everybody is named Vicky or Jason hahaha

Scottish,

There are no going rates at all, girls just expect a good tip like 800 dallassi or something like this, but all depends on the situation. Sometimes girls just like you so much, they are just happy to be in your compagny.

Frank Africa,

Re Senegambia, I guess taste differs right. I saw it in april and I didn't have the empression that its worn out, I like the reception area. Anyway, I heard they installed new management (previous Kairaba gm) so should be upgraded.

Cant wait to go back, 6 weeks and counting!

Hi my friends,

Who has experience with Gambia during Ramadan? Are Wow and Jokor still open and busy during ramadan time?

Is the normal action still there? Or less then normal? Or maybe none at all, and maybe everybody goes home to the family village compounds? I want to go in October, unless it's no use, and also I don't want to cause too many social problems for the girls. I mean, if they are seduced by my money and do things maybe they shouldn't do, get problems with their family, things like that.

I know sex is officially allowed when the sun is down, so the same rules as for eating apply during Ramadan. That's the official story. But it's also a time for modesty etc., so in practice it may all be less (?).

And of course a lot of girls come from Sierra Leone etc, so maybe the christian girls can still move freely?

So who has experience with the Ramadan time in Gambia and can advise me whether or not I should go? Please post your experiences.

:) Greetings from me.

just had a months holiday in the gambia, its good news and bad news. the good news is there are as many girls as ever! but why go after the "chuggers" in wow and all of the other nightclubs, the best gfe i had was from non working girls, just treat them well, buy a few presents and take them out to dinner and the world is all yours, anything goes, the best sex i had was from a waitress in the ali baba restuarant, no inhibitions whatsoever.

so easy to meet them, chat in the street, ask any hotel employee, they all have a "sister, cousin, niece etc" they are all looking for a toubab boyfriend, they look after you, and treat you like a lord.

i had a mate who moved in with a chugger for 3 days, gave her more than enough money, 3 days later the police arrived at the hotel to arrest him, the girl made a complaint against him, it cost him 10,000 dalasi for her and 5000 to the policeman for him to forget it!

the chuggers can be aggressive, persistent, and bloody annoying, they turn up at your hotel insisting that you promised them money when probably they have never even met you.

the "bumsters" and hustlers are not as bad as they were, just treat them with respect, be polite, after a few days they recognise you, they realise that they wont get anything out of you and carry on looking for the new arrivals.

i met 2 good bumsters while i was there, for a small sum, they showed me around, made sure i wasnt ripped off and kept away the less pleasant ones.

there is no doubt, life for most people there is difficult, share what you can, they appreciate it.

the biggest rip of artists can be the cabbies, dont use a "green" tourist taxi, too expensive, use a yellow stripe cab, do a deal with one driver, if they know you will use them everyday they wont rip you off, they know better beaches, friendly non working girls, better resturants more reasonably priced than in the touristy areas.

the bad news is that the tafbel is under new management, the old days of taking a girl there for a quickie is over.

while i was there they caught a pervert trading secondhand clothes for sex to **** girls in his room. they banned all visitors going to the rooms, in 2 weeks i saw 6 security guards get the sack for letting visitors in the back gate for a kickback.

after that we nicknamed it stalag luft tafbel, won't be going back there, and all because of that perv.

the gambia is a great place, its safe, very friendly people, its cheap and the women are beautiful, i have worked / visited most countries in africa, the gambia rates the highest in my experiences.

enjoy

I arrived back yesterday and can confirm that the Tafbe is now Sarge's and now charges 1500 Dalasi to have a guest in your room at any time. The sum does include overnight stay and breakfast next morning.

It is now rather officious and a security guard tapped on my door at 01.15 to check that the girl with me was the same one that I had checked in earlier. She was but they still wanted to see her ID papers. My girl was not noisy, drunk or looking like a prostitute and she had in fact been with me since my first night at the hotel.
I do not think I will stay there in future.

nice to see a few familar names. Well, Barryfc. What exactly id a CHUGGER. I was in Gambia in March. Had a few semi pros from Kololi Beach. But they were not too pushy. Are chuggers the real hard liners?

To Robert the brave. Sad that the Tafbl has gone belly up. It reminds me what happened the the Hotel Viru in Tallinn. In the 90s it wwas full of Finns shagging and drinking themselves to deat (a la George Best). I had a wild time. Had 2 or 3 a night. You could get them in the bars. And later at Amigo's nightclub (did get rolled once or twice. Something they put in the beer. One minute shagging away. Next minute, woke up at 10 am. Massive hangovr and the slapper gone with my wallet.

Well, the Finns bought it. Then. God. It was like colditz. All the *****s kicked. Let to middle aged Finns. Went last year. Prices 4 times higher (£140 against £35). And as boring as hell. Never going again.

Well, I saw the Tafbel in March. Was fine. So near the bars. But a bit run down.

1500 Dal is enormous. £30 for the girl. You can rent an apartment for £15 for 2 of you. And can cook for yourself.

I was told Holiday Beach Hotel was good for getting the girls in. But I stayed at the Palm Grove. Too far out. Near Banjul but you did meet different girls over there so you were not bumping into the one you shagged last night and she was pissed off because you had some new pussy. Paid 500 dal for the girl to stay and she get brekkie which cost 200dal anyway to non guest.

Regards to Everywhere. I did see you piece about Mariama. You were best out of it.

hello there
just back from beautifull Gambia
stayed at KAIRABA hotel, it was a great place, close to the action.

The first night I just arrived and I was a bit tired from the voyage. But I decided to have a look in the nearby street anyway. Things start late, I noticed that nothing much happens before 11h30pm !

I took a nice one to the hotel, bribed the guard an took her to my room. It was a great experience. I like to have good hard sex and this is one of the few places in the world where I have been and where the girls really like it !
She gave me good BBBJ and after that we had a great time. I dont ask for their names anymore, they all have difficult names to remember.
The problem was getting her out of my room, she wanted to stay....but I managed afterall

The next day I saw my date from a few months earlier. This was one of the best f**ks I had in my life, so I didnt wanna loose time and went to my hotel with her. We had a great time, she enjoyes it all even anal.

The good thing about all these girls is that are so willing....I like it when they were high heels for sex, and they dont mind, they shave their pussy for you if you ask, its really paradise !

It went with 5 different girls during 5 days, and had a smashing time. I used to like treesomes, but I allways end up with the girls joking and not really going for it, so I gave up on this.

Gambia is a great place, friendly, great woman, cheap booze !
I am going back ASAP. Also on my list however for 2006 is Jakarta, it has been since 2001 that I was there.... will check out this forum for latest changes on that....

If anyone want to hear about the gambia, just aks, no worries

Have a great one

Tom

Myself, i have traveled to 11 countries in Africa, but never to the Gambia. What keeps me from going there is that i am worried that the place is too touristy and because of that the women too professional...But i keep reading positive reports about this country...Am i thinking wrong????

Does anybody know if this hotel is girl friendly? Also, is it in a good location to the nightclubs etc.

Romanaya
02-11-06, 02:21
Palma Rima is about 2 miles from the nightclubs (these are in the senegambia= Kololi area). Wow is the p4p place, you'll be hunted there.

Taxi there will cost you about one dollar (after bargaining).

Or you walk down the street (from Palma Rima) to Calabash, has more style, girls not as easy... non pro. But still a good place to be.

The hotels in the nightclub area are Sarges (=Tafbel before), Senegambia, Kairaba. Tourist hotels typically ask 1500 dalasi (say 50 dollars) to let the girl in.

There are "local" guesthouses that ask 200 dalasi ($7) for two hours (or $10 for all night), for instance Bakalaji. Actually, Bakalaji is about 100 yards from Palma Rima :) . Or there is one opposite the senegambia area, Keneba, same price.

Thanks very much Romanaya.

I managed to get a room in the Tafbel (Sarges) hotel. I did think I had to look for another hotel. I feel quite happy I'll be in that area. Really looking forward to it.

Good info about the guest houses. I may take that up! ;-) Sounds like it would be cheaper than the hotel. Is the Keneba far from the Tafbel?

I found a map of the area and the Wow (Waaw) nightclub/disco looks close by to the Tafbel hotel. Is this the same place your talking about?

Romanaya
02-13-06, 01:39
Hey Fresc,

Yeah I was talking about Wow disco, same. That's the hard core gathering place. Pretty wild, I was never bored. 100 Meters from Sarges (good choice btw, friendly staff). It's upstairs above Jazzcafe. Sit outside, watch the scene on the street, turn around again, and notice suddenly the girls are dancing with their back towards you while looking inside themselves and pretending not to notice you behind them. Very subtle. And a very beautiful sight. They know how to move & know you're watching: ). Others are more straightforward, you'll see.

Pity, Sarges used to be free daytime taking a girl. I enjoyed it with my steady girlfriend. But no more.

Keneba is about 300 meters, follow the street out (the street is called "Senegambia strip"), left at the crossing, first dirtroad to the right, it's after ca. 150 meter on your right hand. But with the lady you'll still get a taxi for 50 Dalasi night time (high heels, dirt roads). Both the taxidriver and the girl will know where it is. I'm just telling you so you can follow the route yourself and know it's OK. Say hello to the englishman there. He's ok. And used to the "vulture girls" as he calls them, coming there.

Take a nice one, ok, no need to go with the ones with the hard looking eyes. They're not worth the trouble. There are plenty sweet ones. Count on about 500 Dalasi min and 1000 max for the girl, though I know a photomodel who gets 1500 and some toubabs (=white men) go cheaper but then it gets a bit questionable.

Tom3108
02-15-06, 16:21
very correct what you are saying
adding to that that now there is a new disco next to waw, last time I was there (nov 05) it just opened and they had free entrance, so it was very crowded. I allways stay at the Kairaba and tip the guards, there is no problem, but I get the room foc, so thats good ....
Roman, is spy bar still open? I allways wan to go there and have a look, but I never do, you hear all kinds of things about that place .....
Take care !
Fresh, take your own condoms and never ever do one without the sock !
happy huntings
Tom

Romanaya
02-15-06, 18:47
Hey Tom3108,

Yeah that new disco is Totties. Wow is taking a beating from them. Totties is less raunchy, more space, often free tickets handed out on the street. Very nice obers often bringing you the drinks personally with a big smile.

Though sometimes I like (need) the good old crazy atmosphere of Wow (wow means yes in Wolof), where they come sit on your lap uninhibited, & fight (a bit, not really) over you, that wont happen in Totties, the place is too clean :) .

Tom, I have the same with spy bar. I hear good things, but in my case I always manage to go there on the wrong time, seeing the place empty. Dunno why. I'm pretty sure, if this place is still alive, it probably peaks at friday & saturday nigth, not every night sure party like Wow.

As an alternative; is hotel tafbel and tafbel maisonettes the same?

Is it true that tafbel is only open in the winter?

I'll be in Gambia for 3 weeks in summer and looking for a girlfriendly acommodation; like sudio or apartment. Everytime the trouble with the expensive beachresorts and their guards is not longer my buisness.

Thx for suggestions

I think you'll struggle Steve I found it really difficult to get girls back to my room without paying. That ridiculous guest fee most hotels in Gambia will charge a fee for bringing a guest back to your room. I stayed at Europa Apartments nice but had to pay up to a £10 per girl. Until I negotiated them down that's one of the reasons I look for pussy in Ghana,Ivory Coast and Kenya now. Then again I might be wrong!

Romanaya
03-10-06, 18:51
"Then again I might be wrong!"

No, dear college Trekkie, you're not wrong.

However, me thinks there are some finer points that might be added to this discussion:

1) Prices are actually sometimes approaching 40 euro for the hotel reception at the well-known tourist hotels.

2) The reason given is that they (the hotel) had had too much trouble with some girls stealing stuff and causing other trouble for the tourist (to give an example: girl calling the police, and sharing with them whatever they, with their loud voiced accusations now amply filling the room in combined force and semi-legality, can scare out of named visitor). And this type of unrest of course meanwhile causes a bad name for the hotel, but this forum certainly wont find that a valid argument. Anyway they (subject: the hotels again) seem to have decided can well live without all that, so they're not really interested in lowering this entrence fee. I found it non-negotiable, but I might be missing something there (some guys managed to get a girl in, paying bribes at the back door security, but this only resulted in these poor men loosing their jobs later on, bad deal for them (i.e. the security guys) ).

3) While these incidents, girls causing trouble, are rare, there might still be some wisdom gleaned from this.

4) Namely, to keep your private place private, your bagage safe, and your name locally in good state of repair, and use the short time hotels at a rate of 150-200 Dalasi. Think, or mention to the taxidriver, Keneba or Bakaladji.
You know Africa, for all things there usually already is a solution at hand. And it does not always have to be costly.

Oh sorry; I was many times in kenia; there are also not girlfriendly; BUT if I book a double or an apartment I do what I want; also in gambia.

And for sure in all these countries it's possible to find such an acommodation So I will see; AND waiting for information in this forum.

Romanaya
03-11-06, 16:48
Ok sorry too, Steve, maybe I was giving a false impression.

Sure, in Gambia, like in Kenia, there are many local guesthouses/hotels that won't make problems taking a girl home, especially if you booked a double room.

I was talking about the tourist hotels only, the kind you get when you booked a holiday package. These have all the things a tourists expect, like almost always electricity and water. All these have a hefty reception fine.

There are appartments for rent in Gambia, sure. For the lowest prices, 100 euro/month you'd have to pay 6 months or a year at once. Unfortunately, I have no phone numbers, and I can't seem to reach my contact who had the number.

Other people may help you here, yes, please post.

Other appartments, catering for tourists, start at 10/15 euro a day. The European owners might not appreciate to much open raunchyness, as they have to live with the consequences concerning contacts with neighbours.

So, all things considered, going local will give no problems concerning girlfriendlyness, at the price of some security issues (tourist hotels have 24h security sitting at the entrance). As I did have a place I rented robbed in my absence; physical violence in Gambia is very rare though.

Anyway, this is the background why I was advising the combination higher class safety+private few hours elsewhere.

People who rent or build a free standing house almost always have full time security live in in the compound.

Your idea of renting a place and being free is charming though, so don't let this deter you.

Just don't put your pension savings on the couch in the livingroom as someone once literally did, to find it gone.

Move free and light, don't bring anything you don't want to lose. And 99.9% of the people are so sweet to be with.

If you scroll back in the forum for Gambia you will see that I stayed at Tafbel / Sarge's in November 2005. I had to pay 1500 dalasi for a guest but that did include her breakfast. I also had the experience of hotel security knocking on the bedroom door at about 01.30 in the morning when the girl had been checked in and they had already seen her identity papers.

I would say pay up or use alternative accommodation for mongering. Even if you pay up there is no gurantee that the security will not be difficult as I discovered.

If you give your home address or mobile number to any of the people you meet be prepared for 'begging letters'. Remember that by Gambian standards we are very wealthy since teachers may only earn about 1500-2000 dalasi a week.

I hope that one of you Gambian experts can help me on my request!

im lookin for information about one girl I met in Kololi beach at a beach bar.

The place is run by a sister and brother named Binta and the brother is reffered to as Beckham. the place is situated at the top of a small hill. Furthermore a rasta joint smoking guy called Alladin is working there.

The girl I am looking for is called Adama and is defenitly very hot. top of the top if you ask me.

Any pictures which you have from here is worth gold to me. Also contact details as i lost them on my journey back to denmark.

I hope you hunters can help me and soon I will post my own damn sexy pictures from my Gambia experience!

I am thinking.

Is the name of the beachbar Jufureh?

Anyway, I could send some girls looking for her. But they usually only work for small presents :) . Some incentive for them would be nice, and I'm not there at the moment. You know, Africa is works on remembering and honoring favors. Anything small like some nailvarnish bottles or cost for a nice dinner will do, to get them of their ass & moving and looking for your girl, any ideas how to get it to them?

Pity Western Union has such a high overhead, I think 20 euro is minimum cost level for small amounts. Otherwise I'd be using it more often for little surpirises. But if its the love of your life, sure I can find her.

Thank you romanaya for the tip!

the place jufareh i know! its next to black and white.

its not that place. The place im talking about is further towards senegambia. Its a fairly new place since (2004). It has a straw house on top of a small hill.

its about 15min walk on the beach from jufareh towards senegambia. The girl I'm looking for is very pretty her name is Adama Jallow.

She use to work with a small girl called mimona who is also very pretty and married to a dutch man now.

Again any pictures of the girl would mean a lot to me. it doesnt matter if they are a bit on the wild side.

Im planning on going to gambia in april and then I would find her myself.

However anything fro her before would make me very happy.

Happy huntings to all you Gambian lovers and see you soon on the Gambian streets and beaches.

Oh how I love that country!

hi guys
I can safely say that I am a experianced Gambia banger !

- I have been with at least 50 girls over there and most of the girls have a safe home, where you can bang them all night if you want to

- So no need to look for cheap & sleezy hotels or guesthouses, just take a taxi with the girl and pay him well ! That is promise him to pay him well when he brings you back to where you came from. Discuss on the taxi ride and one you agree on the fee, then say to him you will double it if he is loyal to you
Just tell him to wait in front of the gate where you are banging your balls of !
I have never in all my Gambia trips felt unsafe doing that.
There is a place called rasta garden, that is a place where you dont want to go as only pot smoking jamaican look a likes are there. As they smoke pot, they are into illegal activities. Dont go there, as I am sure once police will be cleaning this place and you are there, they would trow you in jail or make you pay a lot of dalassi !

- A second trick is to bribe the guard at the hotel. But this can only be done at night time after like 2am. At certain hotels they have fee to bring a guest, but you can bribe the guard and then they will even bring the girl to the room.
As I am allways visiting the same hotel, these guards know me. When I arrive I give 50 euro to the one in charge and ask him for real good service.
These guys realy are your safe haven believe me. Even when they are finished working and see you at one of the terraces, they will have a chat and point out to different people that you are an ok guy.

But overall Gambia is a very safe place, no worries. I have been to much worser places in Africa than the Gambia, believe me.....
Enjoy the banging !

Why do u want to give him 40 euro? Are u crazy?

Its very easy to allow girls for free and the security officer may help u to get the girls.

Unfortunately u don’t know where to go. So go to Keneba hotel. This is informal local place mainly for Gambian. Its full of girls and u don’t need to go to any disco since the girls are already stay in the hotel.

Again this is not a tourist hotel you will be the only tourist but every night u will get another girl.

What do u mean prices? For 60 years old guy ? or for Brad Pitt?

Girls don’t have a tag price in Africa, its not a supermarket.

And yes the shit hole is the basic room. Welcome to Africa but if u want higher class then u need to pay in euro.
In 50 euro a night u can live well but if u want to experience the Gambian life then the price for the room will be 5US$.
If u want high class girls and hotel go to Moscow or brazil. Africa is very poor and Gambia is very poor but girls are nice.

I guess one cannot discuss taste.
When I go somewhere I appreciate my shower, my clean room, my good breakfast in the morning.
When I want to give 50 euro or 100 euro for a girl or for a bribe to a security agent, wich is not even a bribe but a tip, I do so.

Life is full of choices, I enjoy life as much as I can.
I work hard and earn good money. So why spend time in a shithole, when you have the choice? Why not tip the security man, when you can? Why not pay a girl good money, when you are happy with her services and you as a person don't have a problem with it?

I am 38 years old, not 60, and my looks are OK.
But life is much much more then looking for the cheapest girls in the cheapest hotels.

I do respect everyones choice to spend time in what hotel he want to spend time in, and with any girl he wants to spend time with. So should everyone else respect my choices.

Happy hunting & enjoy life...

Re prices
there is no fixed price in the gambia
Depending on the girl you get, you give her some taxi money.
Alltough you have many pro's asking you for crazy prices, AFTER they have given you a good time.
I never paid more then 1.000 Dalasi to a girl, most of the time anything between 500 - 800 is fine.
But as I told you, most of the girls want to be your GF and bang you 4 free ! So be kind and give them some taxi money !!

Have a great time !

Thanks for your tips. I am always good to my girls in any country if I think they have treated me well and fare. This is how I get a good reputation with the locals when I travel. I find if you tip any one too much, they think your are a chump and a fool but if you tip them a fare amount for how they have treated you, every one is happy.

Take care.

Tom you are right. Sorry for lack off sensitivity. Africa can be cheap or expansive as u wants it to be.

In Gambia girls are looking for relationship. In Kenya they after the money. (in general). I was enjoyed to re-design the electrical systems of the hotel for free. Felt very comfortable among the locals. I was the king of the hotel and all the girls came to my room for free.

Any way like in any country you need to make the girls feel comfortable with u and this is not matter of a tag price. If u pay u get sex but if u make her feel comfortable then u have a sex and a friend. Don’t forget to bring some gifts such as underwear etc…

My bottom line is that two different people can have totally different experiences in the same place. This is one of the reasons that one guy can fuck all the girls for free and the other one not. But both of them can enjoy the vacation which is the most important thing.

I would like to agree with efremof that it is nice to experience a little bit of local lifestile while in africa.

The place you are talking about i have been to (Keneba or something). Paid 250 DL. probably to much. However ok place for spending a night with a girl, even though i wouldnt stay there for longer. was there a couple of times. Use to deal with a guy called BUBA or Bob!

Funny to see your pictures efremof.

One time while shopping in a store (market) the mother offer me her 18 years daughter without blinking. She was wild in bed. I felt guilty but the hotel stuff say the in Gambia is OK so god knows...I'm not surprised to hear that from you. You have no style, you're ruthless.

This question might have been asked before but, how is the health situation in Gambia relating food, water, mosquitoes?

Are there precautions you recomend such as bringing malaria medicine, repelant or buying bottled water?

Can you also mention transportation prices such as taxi fare?

Thank you

Also what is the basic prices for the girls in this hotel?

What do you mean prices? For 60 years old guy? Or for Brad Pitt?

Girls don’t have a tag price in Africa, its not a supermarket.

And yes the shit hole is the basic room. Welcome to Africa but if you want higher class then you need to pay in euro. In 50 euro a night you can live well but if you want to experience the Gambian life then the price for the room will be 5US$. If you want high class girls and hotel go to Moscow or brazil. Africa is very poor and Gambia is very poor but girls are nice.

Thanks for your help previously in Kenya .

I get this question all the time in my travels. As I understand the law, the age of consent depends on two factors. One is what is the age of consent in the country you are visiting for e.g. in Australia it is 16 years old. I know in many countries the legal age is younger. Then you must look at your country of origin and what the law state for its countrymen.

For e.g. if you are American, I think the minimum age is 18 (in most states) so it would be illegal for you to sleep with a girl under 18 even if it was legal in her country BUT if you are from say Australia, New Zealand Mexico and many other countries where the age of consent is lower and the country you are visiting supports that there age of consent is lower than 18, then no law has been broken.

Then there is the issue of morals and these are different for each and every monger and judgments should not be made if laws are not being broken. In some countries girls are married by the age of 16 so is their entire culture of thousands of years of tradition wrong?

I am sure some of you will correct me if I have made any mistakes.

hi there

as far as i am concerned, this is not a discussion about the legal age of consent, as this certainly is not the same in each country, therefore a universal "legal" age does not exist.

however i am sure that when the forum rules state that a member is not allowed to post any stories of sex with women younger than 18, it is because the hosting of this website is in a country where the legal age of consent is 18, and therefore sex with women under that age is considered illegal, statutory [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123) or whatever the legal term is. however this is not my responsability but the administrator of this site to clarify.

furthermore, but again this is just my opinion, the moral issue should not be if in a certain culture specific behaviour is accepted or not, but if such behaviour is acceptable to the predominantly western/westernised culture. if hiv positive men in africa sleep with virgins because they think this will heal them, are we going to say, yeah sure, go ahead, if this is your culture, i will not pass judgement.

we have to draw a line somewhere, regarding age (if 16 is ok, why not 14, or 12, there might be cultures where that is also normal), regarding the pressure the women are under (illegal prostitutes who are forced to have sex with men, is that ok ?), regarding the privacy of the women we have sex with (sure you can show your own face if you want to on a picture posted here, but to show the face of the women you are with, even if they seem to agree at the time, what about in 5-10 years time ? they are still ok with it ? what if saying "no" to a man is considered not done in a certain culture, does it mean they really agree ? or even more seriously, what if their fathers, brothers or others see these pictures and regard them as "insulting" and take it out on the girl ? you guys forgot what happened in morocco last year ?).

most of the people on this forum respect general rules of behaviour, regarding eachother as well as vis a vis the women with whom they have sex. these rules are not respected because of laws or forum rules, but because of common decency.

having sex with a 16 year old because her mother says its ok, and they have been doing it for thousands of years, is in my opinion crossing a line, arbitrary as it may seem.

with regards to health issues, some advice :
1. where a condom at all times
2. where a condom at all times (lol)
3. only drink bottled water
4. take malaria tablets (i always use malarone)
5. at night time wear musqito milk
6. take some anti diareea pills with you

there's no such thing as fixed transport prices in the gambia
ask his price, then half it and take it up from there.....
at night time you will be paying more, but then your mind will be on different things.... in general transport is very cheap.
mind you they have tourist taxi's (yellow colour) and public taxis (green colour) or vice verca, normally you cannot take a green cab...except when you do hahah welcome to africa !

with regards to the minor discussion, i agree that its no good to spoil a childs youth at 16 even 18 is much too young. whereas some countries allow this, there is allways the fact of the mind, and they have a name for people fucking minors: **** !
in the gambia there are so so many nice young girls 20 and up, why do a child ? one must be very very sick in the brain to go there....
but that is just my humble opinion

In my country the age of consent is 21 and only if you are married to the girl, so, all of you giving a hard time to efremof for sleeping with an 18 year old girl shame on you! You are also sick in head for sleeping with 18, 19 or 20 year old girls whom you are not married to. The point i'm trying to make here is that these things are relative to where you are from, there is no universal standard. Hey, why don't we all remain celibate until then!

Brotherrabitt

Before you start making judgements, maybe you should read the posts ! He slept with a girl who was 16 not 18.

But thanks for your contribution.

The of consent here in the Uk is 16 I think it's the same in most western European nations I don't really know about eastern or Central Europe.

Warpfield says that in most Western European nations the age of consent is 16.
This in not true.

The laws are very complicated, and I don't know every country's law, but, for example, the Italian law says that if you are older than 18 you cannot have sex with a minor of 18!

If some Italian does this EVEN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY where the age is lower, the Italian police may arrest him and he will have a lot of troubles.

We had an example here with a man who was in Thailand and spoke to an "undercover" reporter about him having sex with teens (in his case, even 10 years old) in Thailand and Cambodia.

The tape was transmitted on national TV and two detectives left Italy for Thailand, got the help of Thai police, collected evidences from his computer and arrested him when he returned to Italy.

Maybe we'll see him again in 10 to 20 years.

So, always check ID.

hello
back from a great stay in the gambia, here is my report

friday
arrived at the airport and took a taxi to my hotel.
i stayed at kairaba, wich is one of the best hotels at the moment. as i was invited i didnt complain !
took the time to take a shower and take a bite into gambian kitchen.
after that i went for the hunt at 10h00 pm. i went to senegambia avenue and sat down at one of the bars terraces. no so much flesh.
later at 11h30 things started to move. i went upstairs to waw disco and met up with a nice lady from sierra leone. her name escapes me, but she is a nice looking one with stunning body and high heels. piercing in het bellybutton and chin.
talked and druk for about 2 hours. took her to my hotel and oh boy this was a great gfe. bbbj, no taboos. she even let me take her anal.
paid like 600d for two hours of great time.

saturday
spent my day with meetings; in the evening same routine....
i met up with a great gambian girl, nice big tits, nice face. i think aroung 3am i took her to my room and fucked her for more then 3 hours. she was a great fuck and asked me to meet her the following day in the afternoon; her name is mayama and she was really into it. paid nothing, with the promise that i would phone her the next day. i didnt....

sunday
took a day off in the gambian sun. in the evening i wanted to close down early as i had important meetings on the monday. so i looked as from 9pm, but nothing there. thats when i went to check my e-mails and met up with a nice gambian girl from across the street, her name is xxxxxx and she is nice looking. she finished at 9h30, so that was easy. she took me to her home and i fucked her in all positions during more then 3 hours. she gave me a great time.

monday
i met up with a girl i knew from m previous visit viviane is her name (she tells me) she gave me a great time including cim in my hotel. she is a great girl with lots of good ideas and no taboos.

tuesday
met a very nice girl, her name is jennifer, she is a gambian. nice lady 24 years old, red hair. she is very shy, young, shaven, great pussy, very motivated. i decided to see her again the next day as i like her very much. she is willing gentle and i felt that she has almost no experience, wich is great. she also felt that we shouldnt have any sex, i was lucky to get some.... when i took her to the taxi stand i passed the waw and saw some very good looking once. so i went upstairs and took another girl to my hotel. her name is fatima and she gave me a great time, but nothing special.

wednesday
i had to catch the evening flight, so arranged to have a late check out.
then i phoned my favourite of the week jennifer to my room. ordered roomservice for her. i fucked her for 2.5 hours and gave the girl 50 euros as i like dher so much. i will call her from here and i am sure we will meet again, as i like her and see that we can do things together....

overall the gambia is a great great place. i wish i had met more white hunters. now is off season and almost no more tourists are there. that leaves me more choice, but its strange beeing almost the only white guy in a disco. girls practicly [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123) you and want you to buy them drinks all the time.

another thing that is a pitty is that action never starts before 12h30 - 01h00 am..all the girls are like batgirls... that is a pitty as i can safely say that i am more active during the evening than the nighttime.
and finally i noticed that the black dudes in the disco are all smoking pot and can be agressive sometimes. they all want to be rasta man and smoke like hell, one of them asked me if i wanted to fight him, i told him as i allways do that i am a lover, not a fighter.....
hope to go back asap, this is really my favourite destination and i do hope you hunters realise this !! never got any cheaper than here....

Tom, I heard virtually all pros in Gambia are HIV positive, despite statistics for entire country state 'only' 2-4% are infected. Can you tell the difference who's pro, who's not?

what you hear could be right, I honestly dont know
When you fuck a pro or a non pro its allways a risky business.

Thats why I allways wear protection at all times.

To be honest, I like to think that the HIV problem in The Gambia is not that big. from what I hear, girls are getting bloodtests on a very regular basis.

Nice report Tom!

I was in Kololi just a few weeks ago! Stayed in the Tafbel/Sarges hotel and they would not let anybody in. The Security guards were not that friendly about it either. So I Stayed in an Apartment for one night and I wish I had stayed in the apartment from the beginning. The Apartments were just a short walk away from the bars around Waw. Anyway, I had my wicked way with a nice girl! ;-) The apartments provide no fuss and bother. Refreshing! The Apartment cost 1200 Dalace for 2 in the room, otherwise a 1000 Dalace for 1 in the room.

Hi Fresh
Thanks for the comments
Do you think they would be offering good rates on term hire prices like 1 month or so?
I am thinking of moving there for 1 month or even more next winter.
What facilities do you get at the apps?

thanks

Hi folks,

I was in Gambia in Feb this year to escape the bad weather of N.Europe...
First, Gambia is indeed a safe country by comparison. The touristy areas (Kololi, Kombo, Kotu beach and Bacau) have good hotels and small supermarkets like '7 & 11' and along Kairaba Avenue are real supermarkets like at home. No need to take all sorts of bollocks with you - it's all there whether kondoms, dental floss, volvic mineral water, canned food, baked beans, frozen chips, aspirin or malaria drugs or whatever you would find at home. ATM machines do work (sometimes not) and if one doesn't just go to another bank and do it there. Unless you forget your common sense or behave otherwise completely stupid you'll be safe.

Climate from Nov to March is nice. In Feb when I was there it was blue sky all the time, a nice cool (slept very well) 15 degC at night and day tops at about 28 degC. Very nice!

Food is ok and in fact if you stick to touristy areas you'll be more likely to be able to order french fries and a burger than anything else! Hotels range from the cheap and basic to the expensive well maintained hotels; the poshest one being the Ozean View Hotel, also known simply as 'Oz' or 'Ozon V' if I understood correctly. In fact, you should book a flight and just two nights in any hotel so that you can locally switch hotels if you ended up in a less girl friendly hotel initially (will do so next time because hotel policies keep changing). There are plenty of hotels and no shortage of free rooms because the average zombie (e.g. joe block) only watches main stream news, gave up common sense as soon as becoming adolescent and believes they will be hacked to death on arrival no matter where in Africa they would go (well, selfishly I should hope it stays that way...)

Again, it all had been written before... Yes, there is the Wow club, the Calabash and so on where best to go to pick up girls. But it's only the Wow club and the short strip of restaurants and bars where there is action to be had every day otherwise it is mostly Fridays and Saturdays; the Calabash is Fridays, Saturdays is dead (when i was there at least).

Well, I just bummed around and was sitting around most of the time and was even to lazy to go on any of the fishing, bird watching or god knows what trips being offered everywhere. Yes, the green taxis are tourist taxis (insured and all this - so they say) but a lot more expensive than the yellow ones. How cheap or expensive you get fromt the airport to the hotel depens how long and how hard you want to haggle. I couldn't be asked and paid 500 dalasi, I know it was too much but so what... Also, get a mobile phone to schedule your girls. Depending how much fun (or rather stress) you want you might get reeeaaaly busy :-)

If you are just there to pick up girls for the night stick to those who are in the business - they know the score and so do you. Read on why... But in the end its up to you what you'll do.... Depending on what type girl you'll end up with they might be just sweet or horny/without inhibition or whatever - the gambian ladies are mainly muslims and thus a bit more reserved and might not be as daring. You must be able to gauge this beforehand.... And again, if you are nice to them they'll be nice to you. It isn't rocket science, is it?

I befriended three girls over the week I was there and I was just a very happy man (and left Gambia with a bit of heartache even...). One I meet in a supermarket and I just started talking to her (she was just too sweet) and because she reacted friendly I thought I asked her out for dinner. She brought two of her female mates along (equally sweet) and I just felt so good... Sure it was expensive (in dalasi terms - a worker in the bar or a teacher earns about 1000 dalasi and the bill was 1600!) and they ate the fanciest meals. I knew this and if I would have had a problem with it I wouldn't have done it. I was upfront all the time (you'd better be!) that I am not here to marry anyone. Of course I could have done this. She was one of the well behaved girls, i.e. she had to be home at 11pm latest and her friends were there of course to keep an eye on her. Nevertheless she invited me to see her parents, I had a pleasant chat with the father but I made it clear that I have no plans to marry any time soon... I went anyway to see how the normal folks live over there and immerse myself a bit into the local culture (i.e. not on a guided tourist tour).

The next girl I chatted to (chatted up) was a girl working in an ice parlour. To keep it short... I talked to her every day, bought some ice (for her as well) and she liked me. I told her wouldn't mind spending some time together with her and to my surprise one evening when we met she took me (no, I did not ask for it nor did I even think of it!) to a hotel off the tourist areas and we fucked. She didn't ask for money but I rewarded her generously nevertheless... So, even this can happen, believe it or not... But even she had to be home by 11pm, so, time was limited but it was lovely anyway :-)

Girl number three worked (with a body made by god - last night I took her to posh Oz and when she arrived in her lovely dress it almost knocked me off the chair - what a hot babe I thought!) in a restaurant at Kairaba Ave who was also a nice girl but she was sooo juicy... Well, I took her out as well cuddled and kissed her but she wouldn't go any further. I respected this. We spend quite some time together and if circumstances were appropriate on my side I might would have married her in the end (I already wrote too much to explain the in's and out's why) and - in fact - I might end up with a sweet african lady anyway one day. Sure, they want a better life and get out but that's ok. Your girls at home (or wifes) wouldn't be interested in you if you'd be jobless street bum (i.e. with no money) either, would they? I got really attached to her in the end and so did she (you can sense this - I don't have to explain this to you guys, huh?) and missed her for quite a while when I had left.

So, bottom line is, yes, you can get lots of fun but stay away from the 'decent girls' unless you are seriously thinking of taking one with you (or if you are such an insecure moron that you feel pleasure in breaking their hearts to confirm to yourself 'what a man you are'). Sometimes it is better not to know - it makes you sleep better.

A beer costs about 30 dalasi, a meal can be had for a few hundred (touristy area) or 10 if you eat at some local food hut, taxis cost 50 to a few hundreds depending where you go and local mini busses 5...10 dalasis. Oh, yes, another anecdote... One night I left a night club and felt hungry ( 3am) and asked the cab driver to stop at some road side coffee shop (a bench a table and some plastic containers with clean hot water, sugar, coffee, snacks etc..) and one ghanian and two gambians discussing the Africa soccer cup. So, there I was sipping lovely hot coffee and munching a hotdog at 3am discussing the latest soccer events on some dark road in Serrakunda. Nice.

Malaria is only a problem at night, during rainy season, inlands but not at all during day times and near the sea where a constant breeze makes it hard for moscitos to fly. At night they do go after you, so put some moscitos repellent on your ancles and hands and wear long shirts and trousers (you want to anyway otherwise it might get a bit chilly). Always sleep under a moscitos net and in decent hotels you don't even have to do this. Just keep the doors closed and only open a window protected by a mesh (standard of the good hotels) and you'll be fine. Again, its all common sense.

In addition, which are the current girl friendly hotels and in October where will be the best place to pick up the honey's?

I intend to go to the gambia next year for the fourth time. No problem making contact with chambermaids, e. G. In Palm Beach Hotel. A mobile phone is enough to make an appointment for one hour in Keneba or Bakalay. During cleaning the appartment you can start feeling their tits and nice big buttums.

I recently visited Gambia for the first time. This is an account of my experiences, hope it helps. I chatted online to Tom3108 before I went, so thanks to him for valuable advice!

I stayed in the Kombo Beach hotel. The hotel is ok - 3* I would say as the rooms are a little basic (you have to pay extra for a tv and a fridge!). It’s in Kololi which means a taxi ride to the action in Senegambia and no passing taxis other than the tourist ones who are always there but more expensive than normal cabs, so not a good location. It’s also not girl friendly.

May seemed a good time to go as is very much low season. There weren’t many tourists around, the hotels being about a quarter full. The weather was still superb and rains were weeks away. I don’t like it too crowded so this time of year appealed to me, but with fewer tourists around, the choice of girls was reduced too, although there were still plenty!

I had experiences with 3 girls met in different ways:

1) WAAW (WOW) Nightclub:

I was there on Sunday night. It started to get crowded around 11.30-midnight. There was a good selection of girls. All the girls smile or say hi as you pass so is up to you to pick the one you want. There were a couple who were more pushy than the rest, but nothing too bad. I picked a petite 24 year old from French Guinea. We danced for a bit, had a drink then went back to her place. It’s a good idea to get a taxi to take you, wait for a couple of hours whilst you have fun with the girl then take you home after. It won’t cost you much, 100 Dalasi in my case, and is definitely worthwhile. The girl didn’t ask for money, but I gave her 500 Dalasi (£10, €15).

2) Internet Girl

I went onto faceparty.com and searched for girls in Gambia. I messaged a few and most replied. I met up with one who appealed. She is 22 and Nigerian. We met for a drink in Senegambia then went to her place – again with a taxi waiting. Had a couple of hours. This was the best I had whilst I was there, totally into the whole GFE and extremely tight body! You can see the pic below…I met up with her 3 times during my holiday. She never asked for money but was always wanting gifts. I took an old mobile phone with me for her which she thanked me for many times!!

3) Shop girl

I met this one in an internet café. We got talking and I invited her to go for a meal. We went to Ali Baba (all but 2 tables were interracial couples). Wasn’t sure about this one as she is muslim and seemed to see it as a date. I wasn’t sure about her willingness to f*ck on the first date. But we had our meal. After, I asked where we could go to relax. She took me to a friends place in Serrekunda and quite happily spent the next couple of hours in bed – no reservations in private, completely different to in public. Again, no request for money or gift - I did spend about 500D on clothes for her the next day when we met up.

I went to another club (Atlantis I think it was called) also in Senegambia. This was much more a “normal” club with a lot of local Arabs (Lebanese control a large percentage of businesses there) and western tourists present so not much of a pick up joint but pretty good music!

My previous mongering experience has been in the Far East and Europe. Gambia was totally different. The Gambian girls were looking for a boyfriend – a ticket out of there - much more than the Thai girls, for example. And they give a much better GFE experience as a result! Most didn’t ask for money, but a gift is expected. Beware giving your cell phone number out as they get pretty intense. I bought a pay as you go phone to take with me, so doesn’t matter if they have that number.

Couple of pics of the internet girl (no 2) but clothed only – sorry guys!

Have fun!

Ohhhhh; DDW

I'm back since 2 days from gambia; you have forgotten to tell us that the country is destroyed like germany in 1945; all the locations are far away from each other; everytime you need a taxi. I never saw that in a tourist area. All is dirty; nothing works in that country; and the accommodations I can accept are so expensive and then you must have luck to have energy. And your girl? Really a woman or a cut pussy so only a black machine. I'm very disapointed about gambia; I only would come back if I would find a nice apartment and 24 h energy; sorry about that I spent there my vaccation.

O. K. ; the atlantic is great there; but the beach.

Sorry; it`s not a good idea to book in advance; i made that and all was broken.

Book a flight, spend the first night in a middle class hotel and look by yourself or ask a taxidriver or waiter in your restaurant/hotel.

NEVER EVER AGAIN: Bokking a "compound" so called the hollidayapartments from the europeans; in the outskirts on a littering area, nothing works, all is primitive and many owners are women; so only the bed is in a good condition.

But you can try Dandymayo Apartments; i saw the rooms o.k. but for using as double round about 60 bucks per night; no long term discount.

Enjoy "Clean Gambia"

Phuky the link is helpful however, I don't think any of the hotels listed are girl friendly unfortunately to bring a girl back to your room, in The Gambia you pay extra mate. I stayed at Europa Apartments one time and even when women just visited me in my room for a chat the Europa staff were worse than the British Exchequer. For trying to prise extra funds out of me if anybody knows better I open to suggestions.

Just back from the Gambia - what a great place! I feel I should post, even though my experience is markedly different from others I have read, and my conclusions (and sympathies) are probably opposite, simply as a mark of gratitude. I probably wouldn't have gone were it not for previous posts. I do agree with some previous posts however - avoid the "nice" girls unless you are looking for a wife, or are a total twat. The WOW club is easier. I am an old fart, unused to clubs for decades, and the only reason I didn't score was because I took a girl with me. The atmosphere was great - it reminded me of a methodist youth club from 30 odd years ago - crap decor, loud music (reggae, rather than soul), drink (julbrew not woodpecker), the promise of sex, but thankfully no fighting. AliBaba Gardens on friday nights had a lovely open air feel, a live reggae band and quite a few working girls (later seen at WOW) for those who don't want to wait until after midnight to score - I am sure there are many other places similar - just look.

I picked up a last minute package from Airtours (UK tour operator) and stayed at the Atlantic. I wouldn't recommend this hotel - too packagey, too isolated, but quite comfortable. Guests can visit your room, but it costs 1000 dalasi per visit. I don't think that is too unreasonable - hotel facilities cost money. Talk to security first, the desk staff can be a bit petty. They wanted my girl to register again on her second visit - I refused - possibly the only raised voices I heard on the whole trip.
You could use it as a quiet base if you want cheap 4* - a yellow taxi to Senegambia, return, with 4 hours waiting cost only 400 dalasi

I planned to stay for one night, move down the coast, and return for the last night. Quite simply, my week was hijacked by the "nice" type of girl I advise you to avoid. A truly nice girl can be very persuasive, in more ways than one. I won't be posting the wedding pics, if we get that far.

I'm going back in a few weeks, I wonder why? - Excel airways from Manchester £142, not sure yet about accomm but look on the internet, there's loads.

Pick up a sim card at the airport - 95 dalasi including airtime. Frequency is 900Mhz - like O2 and Vodaphone - thus only matters if you are using an old throwaway phone, all modern ones are multi band. Oh an don't mind the bumsters - they're only kids trying to get by. They can help you, run errands.

The Gambia is a nice place, but if you are even half decent, beware. HIV is not the only risk.

Hi Guys,

This is my first message on this forum (or any in fact!) and I wanted to say thank you for all the excellent advice that I have read here.

After much deliberation on where to go on my holidays, and after reading your many recommendations, I have just booked time of work for the first 2 weeks in February to come to Gambia :-)

I will be staying at the Senegambia Hotel as its right where the action seems to be, I understand that I will probably have to bribe girls into my room at the door if I decide not to go back to their place. I may see if I can come to an arrangement with the security though, has anyone tried this?

My thinking was along the lines of this: If I have to bribe 1000 every time to bring a girl back here for 14 nights then that’s probably too much and I will just stay at the girls places for a few hours late at night, or how about if I give the head security 5000 now and we have no problems bringing girls back at 2am etc. Do you think that would work?

If it did we could call it BiB: Bribing in Bulk!

Anyway, I am really looking forward to my time out there and will be happy to post a detailed report of everything that happens when I am there.

Finally, if anyone is around the same time as me then I'll happily buy you a beer :-)

Have fun!

Andy

I believe; forget that. You can't bribe the staff ot the two 5 Starhotels:

Senegambia and Kari. I forgot.

You have to book a double; real price. And if you try to change the girls many times the management will advice you to check out; "we are a hotel and not a brothel" they say. This story was told me from a tourist.

But try it

I wouldn't give a Gambian to much money at once... memory is short here, people can manage to think about three days ahead on average.

And you'll be dealing with different security people, as shifts rotate.

Keneba hotel on the dirt road opposite the Senegambia junction, or to be more exact, opposite the footballfield to the left of it, has an hourly rate of 300 Dalasi . Or 500 Dalasi all night; alas, used to be 300 just half a year ago before renovations.

Of course, an hourly rate spells no raised eyebrows... and it saves your name at the hotel ;)

Hi Steve German,

Tanks for your previous posts - I found them really interesting.

Hi Andy 1974 - is it because of my post you think you have to bribe 1000 dalasi per night? If so, I mislead you. Sorry.

I can only speak for the Alantic Hotel, but I suspect all (international) hotels are similar. I did not bribe anyone. I simply spoke to the security guy and told him what I wanted - which was to bring a friend back to my room. No problem, there is a "PROCEDURE", which involves paying 1000 dalasi per night to the hotel. This went on my bill. It was not a bribe. The desk staff, particularly the women, could be a little bit sanctimonious. The securtiy guy just steamrollered them, quoting the "PROCEDURE" I paid him 100 or 200 dalasi for his help, money well spent, i felt. He was really helpful - a guy with real authority.

I suspect - sorry if I sound like an old fart here - that some of the problems that tourists encounter with girls in hotels is because they try to be "clever", to entrap employees into risking their jobs in something underhand. Or even, and this seems really strange to me, that they are doing something "wrong". Why not simply say waht you want to do? If you were room only and wanted breakfast, you wouldn't try to bribe the waitress into giving you half price orange juice. Why spend hundreds of pounds going to Gambia and then try and cheat some guy who earns 5% of your income?

The hotels are there to provide a service for their guests. Use the facilities, and pay.

If I have misunderstood - apologies. I am a novice myself.

Hell; everytime I read here 1000 dalasi stories. A normal waiter earns round 800 dalasi per month; I would never pay 1000 dalasi for using my hotel room as double. 100 as a tip for the security is enough; if that is possible. And for the girl the whole night 500 is the price+food+drinks aso. So please avoid in this forum the 1000 +.

Furthermore I found the holidayapartments; full equiped in the clinic road; not cheap but we are in vaccation I think. No website and e-mailadress. Ask a taxidriver; near the clinic and kinderhilfswerk. Using as double so no problems; AND the whole time energy and water.

Enjoy "Clean Gambia"Gee, what's wrong with you man? This post reads like from someone who NEVER left home town before. Wake up to the real world - Gambia is one of the so called third world countries. What do you expect? But, as the saying goes: "Common sense is not so common after all..."

Thanks for pointing this out very clearly. I have a policy that I don't touch hotel staff for not putting them into trouble. If they loose their job they are in real trouble. You as a tourist are only there for a few days or so and go back to your cosy life (by comparison) - no need to leave "burnt earth" behind. Oh, reflecting on another post of your's where you hooked up with a decent girl I chuckled. So you know. LOL yep, I can relate to this. I still think - after almost one year - of this one girl. So sweet.

Tomwannabe

Tomwannabe, you mean girls from better homes won't put out, unless you promise to marry them? Is this what happened with girl #1?Well, it depends. You can try, you can promise a lot of money or promise to marry them or whatever. If being an asshole makes you happy go for it. I wouldn't. But generally speaking, if you want to get down to business straight away stick to the pro's. If you are more of a romantic type guy who likes dining and all that and isn't completely fixated on a shag but rather relaxed and "goes with the flow" then you might get somewhere with a decent girl.

Sorry, but it's down to your own judgement, skill and so on and if you are good looking and younger you'll score better and easier than if you're fat and ugly - sorry, but even here it's no escaping basic human behaviour and economics. The main difference is that you don't have to be a millionaire to be considered rich :-) good luck.

But as I have already said, my sympathies tend towards the Gambians. And by the way, Pros are people too. Mixed up? Maybe a bit.

Sorry, Tomwannabe. Can't you read? Try Dandimayo. What would you do in the private compounds; the solarequipment is to small; so you have no light and sometimes no water. Are you on vacation or on a militarytrip? Do you travel only for sex? Outside of the tourist area; like in these compounds I won't spend my time there next time. But this is my own opinion; try Kenya and you will see the difference.

And it is not fair to report about gambia in other way. The small tourist area is really o. K. ; BUT forget the rest; only to look the nature, parks aso.

Sorry this was my own impression.

I am considering maybe going to the Gambia for a short break in May. I have never been before, though I am a regular visitor to Ghana (see my reports there). As I will only have a few days I think it might be nice to make a change from Accra. I have read some reports here and it seems that some of the hotels can be fairly anal when it comes to having girls stay overnight. Any advice as to where to stay where girls are welcome (of course I will book a double...standard procedure wherever one goes!), I read the Sarges/Tafbel hotel is recommended, are they cool about guests? Is this hotel in a good spot for bars and clubs?

Bloke,

Sarge's Hotel is very close to the action at Senegambia, but I'm not sure about the girl friendliness. I know that girls have been taken there in the past, but that was when it was under the previous management, and known as Tafbel. You will probably find that most hotels allow guests at a price. If you want somewhere to stay near Senegambia, try phoning Derek at the Sportsman. He has rooms to let at around 600 dalasis per night, and there's no problem with girlfriends. It's situated in a quiet area 100 metres from Senegambia and he does the best breakfasts in Gambia. His numbers are #220 7711218 (best) or #220 9712306.

Thanks Fourniceight,
I appreciate your insight but I still find it hard to understand how any hotel can justify charging extra if you have booked a double room in the first place. I have never had trouble in other parts of the world with a double room except one time in an all inclusive in Kenya but I guess all inclusives have different rules. I will look into your advice or might even email the Sarges direct and ask them straight up!

I will be in The Gambia very soon.

I try to find out whether there is a girl-friendly hotel or not. I send many e-mails to many hotels in Banjul. Most of them don't reply, when I ask whether the hotel is girl-friendly or not. Only 2 of them replied me. And the answer is simple "no", because they claim to be "respectable hotels". (One reply is from reservations@sunsetbeachhotel.gm and I could see in the reply, that my e-mail is forwarded from info@sunsetbeachhotel.gm, and a person named by Buna request somebody from reservation unit to answer my e-mail with the following sentence: "Please answer to this sex maniac". Such a professionalism!)

Any way, I will appreciate current information about girl-friendly hotel specially in Serregambia area. I promise to give more information about the above issue and current situation in Banjul.

I would like to share recently achieved information about girl-friendly hotels (without "joiner fee"): Well, actually such a hotel exists in The Gambia, but it's not so close to the Senegambia-area. (And of course you have to make a very clear deal with the staff before you arrive to the hotel. I recommend my fellow mongers a very useful site: http://gambiagateway.atspace.com/hotels/index.html .You can just find e-mails of many different hotels and send e-mails to the hotel staff whether the hotel is girl-friendly or not. By the term "girl-friendly" I mean of course "girl-friendly without extra charge". I can imagine all hotels are "girl-friendly" as long as you pay 1500 Dalasi -Jesus! It's almost 44 Euros!- or more for 1 girl you bring to the hotel. And it doesn't matter you booked a double room or not. Pay it or leave it! But leave it!).

After sending and getting e-mail from Baobab Holiday Residence (http://www.baobab.gm), I got a very clear answer from the staff: The staff will be happy to welcome my lovers to visit me in my room if the visitor is not a problem lady and has an ID and be limited only to my room, not to try other guests or disturbe the tranquelity of other clients in the hotel. It's fair enough. And the price for a room 35 Euros (10% discount if you stay longer, but you can try to get more discount). The only minus about this hotel is it's situated in Bijilo, and you need a taxi all the time. (http://www.fallingrain.com/world/GA/5/Bijilo.html).

However, I booked a room for 2 weeks at http://www.sundownersgambianvillas.co.uk after I made a very clear deal with the owner, who is a British lady. No extra charge for my women (but the owner has some rules I have to follow: 1) respect to the other guests.
2) the girls must not be around the compound in the day as other guests book here for the peace and quiet. 3) they must be quiet when arriving and leaving very discretly. 4) only 1 woman at a time. These rules are very fair to me. I prefer also 1 woman at a time, too).

At http://www.sundownersgambianvillas.co.uk I stay for 2 weeks. The price is 320 British Pound. (I think it would be almost impossible to find something cheaper with the same quality). Any body has got experience with Sundowners?

For your orientation I add some links to some maps of Banjul area. I hope it would be useful:

Steve,

I will arrive to The Gambia the 7th February 2007. It will be my first time in The Gambia.

I haven't been in Boabab Resort, but only communicated with hotelstaff by e-mails.

When I look in the map, Bijilo is a little bit far away (compared with Katu and Kololi). Of course I could get wrong. I haven't been in The Gambia before.

Away from the coast, and about 1 and a half miles from Senegambia. If I were looking for somewhere to stay and had to choose between those two, ? Don't know. Here are some information about the current scene in the Senegambia area with references to some questions and requests:

Tropocat,

It is definitely not necessary to hire a local guy. If you hire such a guy (I will guarantee that he will be a bumster if he is not a bumster already in a very short time. And you waste both your time and your money). In my second day a guy who works in a chance bureau asks me if I am interested in local and home girls. And he tells about a place where many decent girls make party. As he worked in a change office, I didn’t think that he could be a bumster. And we take a taxi, and meanwhile I ask about the girl. He told me, that the girl is 20 years old and she lives with her parents. But when we arrive to the place, I could see, that it’s a kind of local brothel and the age of girl was 27. Besides she was not `the queen of the village` as he told me. Any way, I just paid for the taxi (and it was 200 Dalasi, and nothing to him. He expected that I also pay something to him. But as he wasted my time with his lies, I would not pay any money to him).

Fourniceight,

I appreciate your information, and once again you are right, when you write: `If you can find an honest local here in Gambia, he's either under 2 years old, or pushing up daisies. Never, never trust a Gambian. Ever!`

Never ever trust a Gambian. But prefer a Gambian prostitute than a prostitute who comes to Sierra Leone, Liberia, etc when you are in The Gambia. (I had a very bad day yesterday with a prostitute from Sierra Leone, who expected to get 600 Dalasi for making only `massage`). When you hear some prostitute speaks about `massage`, don’t think that sex was implicit in the word `massage`. Make a very clear deal before you take the prostitute to your place.

Always remember: you are a `white pig` in Africa. It doesn’t matter how your skin colour and your financial power would be admired.

Never ever carry your passport and other valuable things in your pocket, when you go to the action. (After I got a very bad experience with the prostitute from Sierra Leone, I went back to Senegambia. I paid 300 Dalasi for massage in my room to that ***** from Sierra Leone). In the late of night I have been in Totties, and somebody steal my wallet when looked a dance competition. I was lucky, because I had only 250 Dalasi in my wallet, and my passport is in the safebox in the guesthouse.

Be careful all time when you are in Senegambia, but be specially careful Thursday night, as it would be more crowded compared to other nights.

Fourniceight,

Once again you are right when you write: `Africa is Africa and LOS is LOS`. I would also write about the differences between The Gambia and Thailand:

1) Thai girls have beautiful hair. Gambian girls have artificial hairs.

2) Thai girls are much more honest. It would be a miracle if you find a honest Gambian girl.

3) Prices in a restaurant in Thailand is much more cheaper compared to the restaurants in Senegambia. Thailand is much more modern and developed compared to The Gambia.

I hope above would be useful.

Best regards,

KW.

As I wondered whether Sarge's (Tafbel) Hotel is girl-friendly or not, I just personally ask the receptionist at Sarge's (Tafbel) Hotel about the rates and conditions in that particular hotel.

The Hotel charge you extra 1500 Dalasis (Sic! It is one tousand and five hundred Dalasis!) for each girl (and for each night) you bring to the hotel (and it doesn't matter you book a double room or a single room). So, it would be very expensive to stay there and monger. If you book a single room to yourself, it is 1400 Dalasis and for the girl 1500 Dalasis. Total damage is 2900 Dalasis! (Jesus! It's more than 90 Euros!)

Here are the rates for winter 2007:

Single room - 1400 Dalasis/51,85 US Dollars/43,75 Euros/28,57 GB Pounds
Double room - 1960 Dalasis/72,59 US Dollars/61,25 Euros/40 GB Pounds

The receptionist at Sarge's (Tafbel) Hotel informed me about the control the hotel-staffs make. They knock on your door and check if it is the same girl you pay 1500 Dalasis for each night.

Staying at Sarge's (Tafbel) Hotel is something like staying in a military camp or prison. Avoid it!

All mongers of the world, unit and protest hotels which charge for sky-high `joiner fee`!

A single room costs at Sportsman only 700 Dalasis. Sportsman is totally girl-friendly. When I talked with the staff, a man called Joe told me, it's not their business if I bring 5 girls at the same time. I pay only for the room and nothing more.

I wanted to see a single room, too. There was air-condition in the room. A very large bed. Actually the room was also very large. (Shortly: It was not bad).

Sportsman is very close to Senegambia. You can walk in a few minutes and you don't need a taxi at all.

For booking a room you can contact Joe (Phone number: +220 7801089) or Derek (+220 7711218).

It's very hard to find a prostitute in `Wow` and `Totties`, who demands to get less than 1500 Dalasis for sex. (As I read in previous posts, should it be satisfying for the girl, if you pay 500 Dalasis to the girl for whole night). Thank you very much to all those who paid more than 500 Dalasis for sex in The Gambia. Now you destroyed the scene for your fellow mongers. I hope you feel very happy now!

I have now spent 4 nights in The Gambia and I got experience with 5 different girls. (But I got sex with only 3 of them).

In my first night in Senegambia, I went to Jazz Cafe to get a cup of coffee. Later I have been in `Wow`. Some girls approached to me, but I refused them with my reason. I told them, it is me who choose the girl, but not the opposite. If I'm ill, I go to doctor, the doctor doesn't come and asks me whether I'm ill or not all the time, does the doctor? It should be same with a prostitute, I think.

After spending a couple of hours, I remarked a very perfect ass. I remarked the girl with that perfect ass is going to leave `Wow`. I followed her. When she remarks me at the stairs, she stops and talks to me. On the way to a taxi, I propose to pay 500 Dalasis for sex whole night. She accepted. We got a yellow taxi to my place and when we woke up, I paid her 500 Dalasis as aggreed and 100 Dalasis for tip. The sex was very good. Specially doggy style with her was a real carnival for my eyes and for another very important organ of me.

That was my first night in The Gambia. And my first and last time for paying 500 Dalasis!

I can't understand men who flies in 8 hours or more to The Gambia and pay the same price for sex as it is in London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, New York, etc etc. What is the logic of that? And why you destroy destinations for cheap pussies by giving the same money as it is in your home town? Why? Why? Why?

Well, here is a comparation between Thailand and Gambia. Then I hope you can certainly understand why there couldn't be another Thailand. (And certainly Gambia couldn't be Africa's Thailand).

1) Thai people thanks almost in every opportunity. They are very polite. Even you don't tip to the waiter/waitress you can hear a 'kop kun kap'/'kop kun ka' (which means simply 'thank you'). I wouldn't say the same thing about Gambian waiter/waitresses (and generally about the people in Gambia). Now I just quitted to tip to the waiters/waitresses in Gambia, because they don't say 'thanks', but just a single 'okay', when you tip for instance 20 Dalasis. (Remember, that a daily salary for most people in Gambia is around 120 Dalasis. For 20 Dalasis most people in Gambia work in 2 hours. But it even doesn't take 2 minutes to bring what I'm going to eat in a restaurant).

2) A Thai girl take a shower before and after sexual intercourse. I had 3 different Gambian girls. None of them took a shower. Not after sexual intercourse either, even though these girls informed me, that they are Muslims. (Well, if you are Muslim, you have to take a shower at least after intercourse according the religious rules, and you have to make it sure, that every single inch in your body would be washed).

3) Thai people are very friendly, even they don't have any financial interests in you. When you for instance refuse to buy a drink, so it is 'no poblem' (it means 'no problem'). I couldn't say the same thing about Gambian people. When you refuse them, they continue to push you until you give up or until you are going to be rude.

4) Maybe a Gambian GFE is better than a Thai GFE, I have no idea about that. (I don't dare to get a Gambian girl friend). But a Gambian friend means extra expenses during your holiday, while you can get a Thai friend without spending even a single baht.

5) Thailand is known as 'Land of Smiles', and Thailand deserves this name 117 percent. You can see people smiling to you almost everywhere in Thailand. Gambia is known as 'Smiling Coast', but I have very big difficulties to recognise 'smiling coast' because of Gambian peoples big efforts of squizing more money out of me.

6) Restaurants are much more cheaper in Thailand, compared to Gambia. You can get at least 2 times more food and drinks in Thailand than in Gambia. (And of course the service is on top level in Thailand. The service in Gambia is failed).

7) Thai people are very honest. I visited Thailand 3 times, and I had more than 30 Thai girls to my room. I had never ever conclude, the Thai girl stole any money from my wallet, from my pocket, etc. (I made some traps to the girls to measure their honesty). Unfortunately I concluded Gambian girls steal. I would underline, that to steal is very very bad both in Buddhism and in Islam.

8) Thai girls have very beautiful hair. Some of them have long hair to belly and it's very feminine I think. Gambian girls have only artificial hair.

9) Thai people know that money from turism is very important. They tread turists as if the turist is a king/queen/prince/princess. I wouldn't say the same thing about Gambian people. No matter how they admire your skin colour and your financial power, you are only a 'white pig'. And they can also show this opinion if they can't reach to squize some money out of you.

Well, I am going to finish this comparision right now. I could possible continiue some other time.

Best regards,

KW.

I have been in Gambia 5 times. If this is your first time, then I do understand how you feel. Africans are very pushy. I have not been in LOS, but I did have 2 long term thai girlfriends and I think the culture is very different.

On the positive side, Gambia is much lcoser to UK. Only 6 hours form Mancehster and quite reasonable package deals. I have not stayed at Sages but do know it. There are lots of better places away from Senegambia. The standard of Guest houses id low. I stayed atBakotu Hotel with Gambain experience. It is nice there. Only 500 for a girl to stay. With breakfast.

It is possible to meet local girls. Some are not pushy at all. But all are very poor. I must admit to being not exactly poor and I had a relationship with a very sweet sexy girl (26) from Bundung. I was very generous with her and her family. There were 8 women and 9 childrenin 2 mud floor rooms. She had a lovely younger sister who died at 20 while I was there. So you do get touched by tragedy and money helps there.

I have had *****s from Wow. Adn they are a waste of time. If you can sit in a bar in Serrekunde, you will find nice local girls. I met a very pretty 18 year old virgin (yes, really you bunch ofcynics) who gave me her best GFE all night for 400 Dalasi.

I have been really pissed off by the bumsters and the 3rd time I went I vowed I would never go again. You have to get used to that.

Would like to go to Thailand next.

Here is the continuation of the comparing of Thailand and Gambia. Of course, there are some good things about Gambia. I would like to write them, too. (As I am an honest man who tries to be objective, I have to be non-partial. I give the right of Ceasar to Ceasar. But I take the things Ceasar doesn’t deserve from Ceasar).

1) In Gambia it is much cheaper to drive in a taxi. From Manjai to Senegambia it costs only 50 Dalasis (65 Baht) in a yellow taxi. (Of course you make an agreement about the price before you enter the taxi). From Manjai to West Phil, it is sufficient to pay 75 Dalasis (97 Baht). For last mentioned drive, you may at least pay 300 Baht (231 Dalasis) in Thailand. Maybe more… (Recently tuk-tuk prices are raised in Phuket. It costs now 300 Dalasis to drive from Karon to Bangla Road/Patong).

2) As known, Gambia is closer to Europe. You can reach Gambia in approximately 5 / 6 or 7 hours from Europe. And you don’t get any jetlag when you travel to Gambia from Europe. You have to fly in 13 hours from Europe, if you choose to travel to Thailand. (And 15 hours when you travel back, because the fly direction is the same as the direction of world’s rotation).

3) Most of African girls (not all of them) have big breasts and round ass, compared to Thai girls, who have small breasts. African girls have much more sexy ass compared to Thai girls, I think. (It is to my eyes a big carnival to get doggy style with an African girl. Doggy style with a Thai girl is only a fiesta, compared to the big carnival).

4) You pay no “bar fine” here in Gambia, as there is no mamasan in a bar. In Patong/Phuket/Thailand you have to pay 500 Baht (385 Dalasis) to the bar, before you get permission to go with the girl. (Personally I prefer bars in Karon, where you pay only 200 Baht for the bar). Of course you pay to the girl in Thailand, too. The price for long term is between 1000 – 2000 Baht (770 – 1540 Dalasis), depends on how good you are to negotiate the price. (Now most girls in “Wow” and “Totties” demands, that you pay them 1500 Dalasis (2000 Baht), and it’s maximum price you have to pay for long term in Thailand).

5) Although internet connection is slower in Gambia, it is cheaper to use internet in Senegambia. At Gamtel you use internet for 20 Dalasis (15 Baht) for 1 hour. In Phuket/Thailand you have to pay 60 Baht (80 Dalasis) for 1 hour.

6) If you prefer a holiday with sun, beach and sea, Gambia is maybe better than Thailand. Personally I prefer Atlantic Ocean than Andaman Sea. There aren’t many tourists in the beaches in Gambia either. (The current situation is that there are lesser tourists compared last year. When I chat with local people, almost all of them are complaining about amount of tourists this year. It is maybe because, that the tourists can’t relax in Gambia as they can do in Thailand, because of too much disturbing things in Gambia such bumsters, guys who have bars in the beach inviting tourists all the time to drink in their bars, pushy taxi drivers, etc…etc… Well, I fell actually sorry for Gambia. Gambia needs more money (i.e. tourists). There is no industry at all in Gambia. The only industry in the country is “sex-industry” and tourism. Gambian people have to learn how to tread tourists. Otherwise, it could be much worse for the country. Too be pushy is absolutely not the way to get more tourists to the country, I think).

Best regards,

KW.

I would like to say something to all those men who overpay the girls. Maybe you think you make a very good thing for the working girl. But the only thing you do is “a favour of a bear” (if I use a Danish idiom. As a bear can see a mosquito disturbing his friend, the bear hit the mosquito. Yeah, you can guess the mosquito died. But the friend of the bear died, too!) It could be true for a short term, that you make favour to the working girl. But for a long term you destroy existing “sex-industry” in the country. If I use another idiom we use in Danish language for describing the consequences of your behavior, I would say “you’re pissing in your trouser to get warmth”. Well, if you pie in your trouser you may get warmth, but after 5 seconds, you get f*cking cold, man! You think, it’s sorry for the working girl, and maybe that’s why you overpay. But, if you do that, there would be lesser mongers in the country, as working girls demand more money. (Remember, you buy a Chinese produced thing because of it’s price. How many people would buy a Korean car to a price as a German produced car like Mercedes? Not many, well?). So please, please, please: Never ever pie in the well you get your water from!

Best regards,

KW.

kw,

this may be a little late for you if you are nearing the end of your holiday, but you are certainly overpaying for your pussy in wow or totties. it goes without saying that girls will charge less for a good looking young guy, but i am balding, have a beer belly and i am 60 yrs. old. i pay 500 for these girls with sometimes a promise that they will get a bit (200) extra if they perform well. granted i only take a girl short time but that never comes into the negotiation. as everywhere, negotiate the price before doing the deed.

gamtel internet cafe at senegambia is pitiful. you should try quantumnet next door to sarge's hotel. it is more than twice as fast as gamtel, although a bit dearer rates. i find it much less frustrating in there not waiting 5 minutes for a page to load as in gamtel. gamtel may have cheaper rates but you will pay more there for each session because of the speed of page loading.

sounds like you have had a good time so far. you have certainly learned the ropes pretty fast for a newbie. i take it that it's your first time in the gambia?

Kim Wheather

it’s my first time in gambia. and i have 5 days left. as i’m enjoying my holiday, despite many bumsters and other pushy persons, it will not be my last visit to “the smiling coast”. but i would like to underline, that to make a holiday in gambia requires much more energy, comparing to make a holiday in thailand. and if you find the correct way to conduct, to make holiday in gambia can be much more funny compared than to make holiday in thailand. (now i absolutely understand better why steve german wrote, that he only would come back if he would find 24 hours energy).

i would like to say, that you can see “the smiling coast” if you in your communication with a local person can go beyond the financial interests. however, every time i got success to go beyond money-issue when i talk with an african now.

i may admit, that i had got difficulties in the very first 2 days. especially last thursday –my second day in gambia, and in senegambia district- was a day i was cheated 4 times and my wallet was stolen! i had only 250 dalasis or something like that in my wallet. my advice to you who has the custom to carry wallet: never do that in gambia. (gambian banknotes are one of the dirtiest banknotes you can find in the world. no need to wear wallet to protect them, as the banknotes are already spoiled). wear a short trouser with many pockets, and divide your money you carry on you in different pockets. (so if someone with “long fingers” get your money from one of your pockets, you have at least money to the taxi in another pockets). never carry passport, many cash and credit card on you. you don’t even need to carry a driver license to show who you’re when you are in gambia. the police or security will never “aks” you anyway. (“aks” means “ask”). keep all your id-cards in the safe-box in your hotel.

of course, many persons come and “aks” me if i’m kind to buy a beer to them. i refuse them with a “no”, and a “no” is never enough to an african. they “aks” you “why”, and you have to explain. (i would like to say, that africans generally love to get explanations. and if you argue good, and if you are a storyteller as me, they will love you. in my 3.rd night in wow, a 29 years old woman approached to me. i told her, if she is a prostitute, i’m not interested in her. she told me, that she is not a prostitute. and she “aksed” my name and which country i’m from. i told her simply, that i can’t remember. i lost my memory. as she interested in me very much, she followed me all night. i didn’t buy any drink to her while she was chatting with me almost in 2 hours. she didn’t expect it either. i just talked with her. –all right, i’m a handsome man in his 30’s. brad pitt would possibly be ugly comparing to me- and we danced, while they played latin american sounds. i went to the toilet, and bought one beer to me, and one beer to her. we continued to chat. i had still no memory. she tried to get an answer about which country i’m from, what was my name, etc… but still, i told her, that my memory flied away like a bird. she told me, that i look very good with my red cap. then i told her that i could possibly be “the red hooded” and she could possibly be “the wolf”. she didn’t understand that much, and i told her “the red hooded”. she enjoyed to listen the story. and it was first time she heard that story. then i went to the toilet, and take a seat in a different place. she followed me, and she “aksed” me why i’m sitting here. and i “aksed” her who she was. -remember, i’m a guy without memory-. any way, a time later she suggested that we take a taxi to her place. as i prefer my place, we took to my place. and we had just a great time together. we spend approximately 12 hours in the bed, and most of the time –yeah man, it’s almost 10 hours- we fucked. believe me, i didn’t get lust to fuck any woman in 3 days after i fucked her.-she was a kind of nymphomaniac. after getting a little bit sleep, we suggested that we walk to her place, as we almost were neighbors. no talk about money. nothing. i gave her a mobile phone, which i bought to a price of 15 euros -or something like that- in denmark. we went to her place. while we walked, she was proud of to show me to everyone she knows. i met also his brother. –and it’s really her biological brother, not a fake brother as almost all africans use to have. you maybe meet many men who want to give you his sister, but the girl is not his sister. she is just a working girl. and the man who would like to give you his sister is a kind of pimp, even worse than a pimp: the man is some times the girl’s boyfriend. and i think it is worse than to be a pimp).

maybe you had got the same experience. you have to explain them, that you are not bill gates, and that’s why you have a tight budget while you make a holiday, and that’s why you can’t afford to give a beer to everyone who “aks” about that. i usually tell that, the number of persons who “aks” about a beer in a day is around 100. as a beer typically costs 50 dalasis (almost 1½ euro) in wow and in totties, i have to pay maybe 5000 dalasis (almost 150 euros) to the beer for african “friends”, and i can’t afford that amount money. then they can understand, that they can’t squeeze anything out of you. most of them leave you in no time, but some of them stay and continue to talk with you (without any expectation of financial things). and now you’re beyond economical interests, and you can get a genuine and real communication with the person you talk with. and now, you can see “the smiling coast”. but still, never loose your control. (never ever give your home phone number. never ever give your address, as it can be misused. even to give a gambian phone number can be disturbing enough. i gave my gambian number to a man, who could also allow himself to call me at 2:30 am. he doesn’t think, that maybe i am sleeping at that time of the night). and most of the time keep your hands in your pockets, as there are many people who have “long fingers”, that can go deep into your pocket.

dear fourniceight,

this is a long rapport. as you can see, it would take some couple of hours to write it down. that’s why to use internet at gamtel in senegambia (who charge you for 20 dalasis for 1 hour) is better than use internet at quantumnet (where they charge you for 70 dalasis for 1 hour). it’s because i use microsoft word to write the document, e-mails ect. i need only internet in a very short time, after i finished writing my document.

i would like to tell also, that i never paid more than 500 dalasis (for long time and 100 dalasis for a taxi) to any girl i have been in bed with. last night i chatted with a very sexy girl, who demanded to get 2000 dalasis for sex. i refused her. she went back, and the new price was 1500 dalasis. i told her, that i maximum pay 500 dalasis for whole night. she went back to her “sister” and came back. and the new price was 1000 dalasis. as i didn’t like her attitude (because she wanted i pay 100 dalasis to her “sister”, and her sister can get a taxi to home) i left her in jazz café and went to wow. as it was so crowded and too much smoke of cigarettes and marihuana in wow, i was sitting in the balcony. i felt sleepy, and went to my place alone.

actually i stopped to go to wow and totties. yesterday i went to west phil and to a club called “jokor”. i think that is the best place to be and to communicate with the girls. but as it was a cultural night yesterday, there were only dance and music (and i enjoyed the cultural night definitely very much). i left “jokor” approximately at 2:15 am when a rapper started to sing. i don’t like rap. rap means [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123) of ears, i think. but as it was still early for me to go to my place, i went to senegambia. but i think that’s the last time i’ve been in senegambia.

best regards,

kw

Dear members,

If there is anyone with plentiful of "pleasurable" stories of love affairs and so called "girl friend experiences", and I mean real lasting ones with Gambian subjects, so it is me.

And believe me, even if some of them are quite open minded and hot in terms of sex, feminine and tender they seem to be obsessed with one single thing!

And this is really ludicrous, that whenever I was sitting at my girlfriends sisters apartment and other relatives since I manage to understand a few words of Wollof and Mandingo due to my previous presence in Africa, I noted one particular word coming out of their mouths all the time: ALICE. ALICE!

Well I thought to myself, who the hell is Alice? Well one day after having heard this name for fifteen hundred times I decided to loose my shyness and ask about this particularly so famous girl called ALICE!

Well I became stupefied with the answer: Darling. Answered my girl friend and everybody else bursting out laughing: Darling. Alice is MONEY (MONI) in our language! Darling You thought we were speaking about a woman all this time? You fool! Well big laugh I had made a fool of myself with all the implications!

The word is surelly writen in a different way but is pronounced like Alice so beware all you guys out there, when you hear about this "extraordinary lady", you might be starting to feel tempted to make her acquaintance!

I surelly have many funny stories to tell about Gambian ladies!

Greetings to all of you from Sweden

Gab

Hi KW,

I am interested to know if you went looking for Mary in Fantasy or Time Out, or did you meet her by chance? Is it definitely the same Mary that I posted pictures of, and how good was she for you?Hi Fourniceight,

As we say in Danish "if the mountain doesn't come to the prophet, then the prophet goes to the mountain". I didn't search for any Mary any place you mention above. (I don't try to find any pussy here in Gambia, as pussies try to find me :-)

I met a Freetonian girl Mary in Wow. (I think it is the same Mary we speak about. Just before I write this post, I looked at the pictures you uploaded again. And I'm almost sure about, that she is the same Mary as you speak about). She introduced herself as "Aisha". As time went by she told, that her real name is Mary Tubuktu. She is 29 years old. Mary told me, that she has a sister in England, who brings clothes, and Mary sells them here in Gambia.

She was very good. Actually I had another appointment with her after I have been with her first time. (Wow, it was an unforgetable night with her). As she loves to be fucked, I had her again 2 days ago, for a couple of hours just before dinner. :-))

Another Fretonian girl I would like to recommend is Mariam, who is a slim lady. She is 32 years old. Very symphatical. Even she doesn't smile, she looks like as she was smiling (with eyes). Mariam licked all over my body after we took a shower together last night. Mariam's phonenumber is: [Telephone Number deleted by Admin]

You and your wife can go to WOW approximately at 1 am and look to the people who dance. (I don't know if you want a woman or a man to your three-some. Any how, you have both opportunities at WOW). After you decide which person should be the third one, you just can buy a beer to her/him and suggest some money to her/him for joining to three-some. (Please don't overpay and destroy for your fellow mongers). Don't be afraid that you offend someone, as WOW is the place for the professional sex-workers.

Enjoy your three-some and your holiday.

Well, at the very first day I was in the Gambia, I was at WAW. I suggested to a working woman 500 Dalasis and she accepted without any discussion. She stayed with me all the night. But there are also some working women who demand 2000 Dalasis (or even more). If you remember, that many ordinary working people get a salary between 1200 to 3000 Dalasis, so it would be very good paying, if you pay 500 Dalasis, no matter which gender is. (I refer to my previous posts about how the Gambia was/is).

I would like to read your report when you come back.

The tourism in whole africa is destroyed; so much more girls than customer.
The going rate is 10 to 20 euro; so 500 dalasi is o.k.
And i never asked for short or longtime; evrytime the girls are so happy if they
have the chance to visit me again the next day.
2000 or more is ridicoulos

Hi guys,

I will be in Gambia in October and I think its not allowed to take girls into my hotel (Senegambia Beach Hotel). Where can I go with a girl for 2/3 hours? Any short term hotels available in the Gambia? How much will it cost? I think its to dangerous to go to the women's places.

Thanx!

Actually it is allowed to take girl(s) into your hotel room but you have to pay a lot of money to the hotel. I know nothing about short term hotels in Banjul. But if you want to rent a room close to Serrekunda, you could consider Sportsman (you can find phone number and more information in previous posts).

If anyone has been to The Gambia recently I would like to know what experiences they had regarding changing money to dalasis. I am resident in The Gambia although have been in Thailand for three months, and I have heard that the Gambian currency has been increasing dramatically against western currencies. I also heard that the banks sometimes are unwilling to change pounds, euros or dollars into dalasis. I am wondering what is going on. Please pot experiences.

Had no problems changing money in banks (1 euro = 30 dalasi). Did have a problem getting rid of the bumsters and two girls tried to steal money from me...If you are a first timer to Africa, i personally think the Gambia can give you some nasty surprises....All in all you can get a good time there, of course...but for me there are far better places in Africa....

kw. mostly well said but its not that simple. to not inflate the length of your article, i will only add as much as needed.

well, here is a comparation between thailand and gambia. then i hope you can certainly understand why there couldn't be another thailand. (and certainly gambia couldn't be africa's thailand).africa is africa and asia is asia. it's a kind of unfair to compare. they are just too different.

1) thai people thanks almost in every opportunity. they are very polite. even you don't tip to the waiter/waitress you can hear a 'kop kun kap'/'kop kun ka' (which means simply 'thank you'). i wouldn't say the same thing about gambian waiter / waitresses (and generally about the people in gambia). now i just quitted to tip to the waiters / waitresses in gambia, because they don't say 'thanks', but just a single 'okay', when you tip for instance 20 dalasis. (remember, that a daily salary for most people in gambia is around 120 dalasis. for 20 dalasis most people in gambia work in 2 hours. but it even doesn't take 2 minutes to bring what i'm going to eat in a restaurant).

in asian culture (i lived and worked there; as a tourist you never really get immersed into the 'real' of a country.) preserving face is very, very important. so, while a thai waiter/ress will say thank you and smile even if you do not tip it does not mean that this is ok. it's not. they just don't show it. definitely not to the tourists. they are too business minded as to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) off potential customers. thailand is also much better off in general, so, people are a little less pushy as compared to africa where most people are literally pushed to the brink. life in africa is much harder in general which has an impact on overall behaviour. naturally.

2) a thai girl take a shower before and after sexual intercourse. i had 3 different gambian girls. none of them took a shower. not after sexual intercourse either, even though these girls informed me, that they are muslims. (well, if you are muslim, you have to take a shower at least after intercourse according the religious rules, and you have to make it sure, that every single inch in your body would be washed). true

3) thai people are very friendly, even they don't have any financial interests in you. when you for instance refuse to buy a drink, so it is 'no poblem' (it means 'no problem'). i couldn't say the same thing about gambian people. when you refuse them, they continue to push you until you give up or until you are going to be rude. no financial interest? phew, be careful with that. it's not so straight into your face, but they love money too. see also above for the thing about preserving face. correct is. because there is no preserving face thing in gambia. you will get harassed more.

4) maybe a gambian gfe is better than a thai gfe, i have no idea about that. (i don't dare to get a gambian girl friend). but a gambian friend means extra expenses during your holiday, while you can get a thai friend without spending even a single baht.

well, to their either credit, thai or gambian and depending who you meet and how hard-nosed or cynical you might have grown with age but they c_a_n steel your heart.

5) thailand is known as 'land of smiles', and thailand deserves this name 117 percent. you can see people smiling to you almost everywhere in thailand. gambia is known as 'smiling coast', but i have very big difficulties to recognise 'smiling coast' because of gambian peoples big efforts of squizing more money out of me. remember, it is the thai culture. if you make the effort to peel away the smiling surface which as a tourist is impossible, you'll see more. keep in mind that smiling in thailand (and elsewhere in that part of the world) could mean many things. they also smile when they are emberassed or when they are sad even. only the (ignorant) tourist interprets every smile in thailand as an indication of friendliness or 'no problem'. this concept of always smiling is not a part of african culture (btw also not of european culture if you haven't noticed), thus, they don't always smile.

6) restaurants are much more cheaper in thailand, compared to gambia. you can get at least 2 times more food and drinks in thailand than in gambia. (and of course the service is on top level in thailand. the service in gambia is failed).

cheaper also depends on exchange rate. true is, and that's typical for africa in general, you don't get much for your money, i. e. food quality is poor even though you pay quite a lot. well, and thai food is just gorgeous.

7) thai people are very honest. i visited thailand 3 times, and i had more than 30 thai girls to my room. i had never ever conclude, the thai girl stole any money from my wallet, from my pocket, etc. (i made some traps to the girls to measure their honesty). unfortunately i concluded gambian girls steal. i would underline, that to steal is very very bad both in buddhism and in islam.

i got nothing stolen in gmbia. funny thing is the only times i got my wallet picket pocketed was in berlin and paris. but never in what we label as third world. go figure.

just be alert at all times no matter where.

8) thai girls have very beautiful hair. some of them have long hair to belly and it's very feminine i think. gambian girls have only artificial hair.

well, african girls have afro-hair, i. e. frizzy. not much they can do about that. except put extension (plaits) into them or straighten them which costs too much for those you meet, i. e. you won't meet the girls of the upper class.

9) thai people know that money from tourism is very important. they tread turists as if the turist is a king/queen/prince/princess. i wouldn't say the same thing about gambian people. no matter how they admire your skin colour and your financial power, you are only a 'white pig'. and they can also show this opinion if they can't reach to squize some money out of you.

i am not so sure about the admiration. they associate white skin with wealth (and power due to the colonial history) and by their standards even the poorest western tourist is wealthy. thailand by contrast was never conquered nor was it ever a western colony (it was much larger and the heart of the khmer kingdom centuries ago.) true is that african countries need to wrap their heads around the concepts of tourism and services. the tourist infrastructure in thailand is, as we all know, much better.

well, i am going to finish this comparision right now. i could possible continiue some other time.

don't compare. accept every country as it is. thanks god not everywhere you go is the same. what would be the point of travelling then?

best regards,

kw.

Tomwannabe,

What an excellent job you have done here comparing Thailand with Gambia. I am an Englishman with a Gambian residence permit and have made Gambia my home base for the past 4 years. However, I am currently in Thailand and have spent 50% of the last 4 years in Thailand. I am thinking more and more that I will come to live here permanently next year. It's so strange that when I came to Thailand this year in June, I had been in Gambia for 8 months and had gotten used to life there, and was not really ready to go "on holiday" to Thailand. However, once here, I find that it is the other way round, and now that I have bought my ticket back "home" in November, I am not really ready to go back there either. Both places have a lot to recommend them but I think that Thailand wins now in my book.

Sorry Tom

I have other expiriences; i never met such friendly people like in gambia; AND
i never met so greedy people like in thailand; they are "hunting" the money.
In gambia the people are really poor; so they want to survive. In thailand
the condition is much better.
So; gambia is not so developed; but if i will find a good apartment; i will come
back, because i learned to hate the thai mention

tomwannabe,

first of all, can you please kindly edit your last post in this section? so it could be easy for everyone to understand that what you wrote is different from what i wrote in a previous post. and you're actually dissatisfied when i compared gambia and thailand. you are not comparing gambia and thailand, as fourniceight and steve german thought. but you are critisizing my comparing.

as we say in danish, one must apart the mucus from the beard. please quote properly. thanks a lot in advance.

africa is africa. asia is asia. gambia is gambia. thailand is thailand. your experiences are your experiences. my experiences are my experiences. your way to look at things is your way to look at things. my way to look at things is my way to look at things. maybe i’m right. maybe i’m wrong. but those were my experiences in thailand and gambia.

i prefer thailand. maybe you prefer gambia. maybe the reason is the same: gambia is not definitely thailand.

well, i’m not an anthropologist. i’m just a simple whorist (i.e. a tourist who likes to make bed sheet gymnastics with many different women). maybe you’re right about the issue, that the things are much more complicated than my describing. well, i can only take my experiences as the criteria. and maybe i'm an "ignorant" tourist, too. but one thing i know for sure: "money talks, bullshit walks". whether you find a bar-woman in patong/phuket/thailand or in serrekunda/banjul/gambia, it's your money the woman loves. so if you are also a whorist, please save me from your ngo-ethic and anthropological attitudes.

my start to comparing thailand and gambia takes a beginning from a fellow whorist’s claim, which sounds like “gambia is thailand in africa”. i tried to show why gambia is not thailand. and in that context why africa is not asia. as we are agree about the conclusion, the rest must be details. and the reason to details is due to personal experiences. (as the word “personal” indicates, my experiences are individual. and your experiences could definitely be different from my experiences).

if you read all i wrote about gambia, you could also see some positive things about gambia and gambians. and some negative things about thailand and thais. i believe each country has both positive and negative qualities. some countries have more negative qualities than positive qualities. and some countries have more positive qualities than negative qualities. that’s why you can’t avoid to compare countries.

i would not mind to travel to gambia again, as i know how to handle with all those traps i can meet in gambia. but i would definitely prefer thailand as my destination. just because i think that thailand has more positive qualities than negative qualities. (of course comparing to gambia). that’s of course my opinion. and my opinion is very firm.

well, i keep my right to compare any of two countries in the world. that's a part of free speech too, isn't it?

best regards

kw

thanks fourniceight! i will try the places. what about girl hunting in the day time. are there any nice girls on the beach too? i don’t like the girls too old. look forward to have some more tips from you.wherever you go there are girls, many stunningly beautiful, and it is easy to pick them up. in a restaurant, bar, cafe, or even in a supermarket. you only have to say hello and ask them out for a meal, or just exchange phone numbers. pretty soon she will be in your bed. gambia-no problem. that is the motto here. on the beach there will be girls come and speak to you as you walk along. they will invite you for a massage in a beach bar. young girls everywhere. just be very careful with young girls. perhaps i don't need to tell you. the gambia is very strict regarding **** sex. the legal age is 18, although some people report that if a girl is still a student, (can be any age), it is illegal for a toubab (foreigner) to have sex with her. the police are corrupt and the girls and their families can enlist a policeman to fleece you. they can accuse you of anything and the only way to escape a few nights in the local jail is to pay. on second thoughts, try not to give a girl your phone number. they can, and will, be very persistant. also, on that note, try not to tell a girl where you are staying. let her take you to her place for sex. that way there can be no embarrassing moments when she turns up at your hotel unannounced and starts to demand things that you "promised" her. perhaps that all sounds over cautious, but it is africa.

I am back of 2 weeks in the gambia.

Fourniceight: you were right with your currency concerns. I got only 25 Dalasi for 1 Euro, the price level was horrible, the same prices in restaurants and bars like in my homecity munich.

All things considered it was a nice holiday, but very expensive. Even the girls (in wow! ) are expensive, they want to have at least 1000 D (40 Euros), much more than in kenya or Thailand.

A must: Jokor in West Field on Wednesdays.

Don't cheat yourself when you are in Banjul. Be at JOKOR in West Field on Wednesdays. A lot of beauties there on Wednesday nights.

I`m planning a trip to Gambia next december. This will be my first time in Gambia.

I`m looking for a girl-friendly hotel without extra charge.

I read something about "Sportsman"

What is Sportsman?

A ST hotel ,apartment or a guest house ,with or without swimming pool?

Or does anybody knows another girl-friendly hotel close to the action?

I´m happy if anybody help me?

Thanks in advice

I`m looking for a girl-friendly hotel without extra charge.Check my #157 post a while ago. When I was there, I found all hotels to be very strict and not really girl friendly. So I stayed in an appartment for a night which was a much better option.
